Dolce by Dolce&Gabbana is a Floral fragrance for women. Dolce was launched in 2014. Top notes are Neroli and Papaya flower; middle notes are Water Lily, Narcissus and Amaryllis; base notes are Musk and Cashmeran.

The fashion house of Dolce & Gabbana launches its completely new fragrance Dolce at the very beginning of 2014. Dolce represents an emotional and sensual journey through Sicily, which is the origin and inspiration of the fashion duo.

It is described as a soft and feminine scent of white flowers. Freshness of neroli leaf together with papaya flower open the composition making an introduction to the heart that dominates with white amaryllis, narcissus and white water lily. The base is soft with cashmere and musk. Dolce by Dolce & Gabbana is available as 50 and 75 ml Eau de Parfum.

Smells like garnier fructis shampoo at first spray

toosimilar

It's a super beautiful floral
Fresh and sour, so invigorating!
Truly feminine!
But lasting power isn't that good...

FavourO

I really really don't like this one. There is a screechy note in this (idk what it is) that makes it unwearable for me.

AmieClay

This is a nice one! Starts out very strong; a rich, thick floral that my boyfriend and I liked a lot and made me think of J'Adore. The great news for Dolce is, I didn't get any of the powder stank on the dry down that ruined J'Adore for me.

Sad news was, it weakened quickly and was gone in a few hours tops. Surprising from a parfum. Still, I could see a lot of people wearing this because (as another reviewer said), it's a very "safe" floral and I can absolutely see myself wearing it again.

63llaeraaas

smells like shampoo.. and not a good-smelling one. it's like a plain, drugstore shampoo with no added fragrance. also very weak longevity. it's bland and not pleasant in any way. Get Garden, Shine, or Rose instead.

jadepo21

As far as floral fragrances go, this one is utterly inoffensive and easy. It's got a little sweetness to balance the white florals and I cannot see anyone hating on it. It is a little bland, yes. But it's nice and safe for those times that call for an easy reach. The downfall is the longevity and sillage. It's a weak fragrance to say the least. But, I guess that also lends itself to the nice girl vibe of this scent.

cocoamaplebutter

This fragrance embodies the word “nice”. It’s not very powerful, take that as you like. Definitely floral, incredibly light and feminine. Personally, I received it as a birthday present and used it for a while in work/formal settings as I wouldn’t consider it bold in any way. The bottle is so beautiful though and looks lovely on the shelf. If you’re looking for a simple perfume, this one could be for you.

kellyrwallis

A beautiful soft and feminine scent. I wouldn’t buy the full size of this because it just doesn’t last very long. It’s watery, fresh and delicate. Like walking through a garden full of flowers covered in rain drops.

walkingdress1809

ran out of this bouquet bottle earlier this year, closing another one of many five-year chapters of my life.

since 2018, i’d pop off dolce’s plastic flower cap off every time i needed something basic and consistent. feminine, but not foolish.

it’s true that dolce is a straightforward puddle of petals — there’s no mystery in a water lily, its white arms stretched out and open to the sun, and this white musk is more of a see-through film than blanketed secret.

but i love it! i love the sun, i love scum on top of the pond. dolce made me feel like such a girl over the past five years, wearing chiffon with a green stem poking out behind my ear. generic, yes, but comfortable.

J'aimeunefragrance

Short lived happiness. Almost reminds me of Dolce Garden.

suzanne_ronald

WATER-LILY & (PEAR-)BLOSSOMS. Opens with a burst of papaya-blossom & neroli with delicate fruity, clean and floral tones. The papaya-blossom here is more forward than the notes would suggest, with neroli in the supporting role, but already you can feel the water-lily swelling through. This transitions into the water-lily heart accented by narcissus and amarylis, all resting on a floral support base of musk & cashmeran with powdery, musky & near-woody tones. Alongside there's a faint shampoo vibe in the background. Overall I get a gorgeous water-lily scent that leans to pear/pear-blossom with the other notes serving to support and enhance different facets of the water-lily, on a musky cashmere-wood base. This has a light to average performance for a fresh summer wearing experience, but performance improves with dark storage after first sprays.

Contrast to J'Adore Dior:
These are different, but I can see why they've been compared, and there are similarities in the near pear/pear-blossom tones of Dolce. Dolce however is lighter and fresher, and doesn't go as sweet in the drydown as J'Adore, amongst other differences. Dolce would be easier to wear in the summer heat, but J'Adore could be easily worn year-round. J'Adore outperforms.

Overall: gorgeous, light & refreshing water-lily & (pear-)blossom scent for the summer heat. It's a love for me. Enjoy!

miamigirl58

Smells fresh and lovely immediately, but 5 minutes later it’s gone. This perfume is waaaay to expensive given it’s utter lack of any lasting power. I regret this purchase.

Dolce EDP was an early blind buy for me. It didn't disappoint, but it didn't quite win me over either. This is a lovely fragrance, yet I find myself rarely drawn to wear it. In the opening it is a crisp, green floral. It smells like a clear spring day after a rainfall. It is dewy, fresh and green with a warmth that makes me think of sunshine. The neroli is citrusy and green without the sharpness and bitterness it can be known for. Deep in the drydown the florals are very subdued and the scent becomes soft, warm and fluffy with the musk and cashmeran adding a gentle coziness.

This fragrance is very pretty and inoffensive, but I also find it a little boring. Its unobtrusive nature, however, renders it an excellent choice for professional settings or moments where a subtle presence is preferred. Dolce has a delicate quality that is very feminine and elegantly understated. It smells fresh and realistic.

I picture this worn during spring afternoons, especially for outdoor functions.

The performance is much better than I was expecting. It's not a loud fragrance. The projection is pretty light, but still noticeable for about four hours. After that it settles into a skin scent that lasts for several more hours. In total it lasts 8-10 hours on my skin. I don't find it really lasts on clothing.

The bottle looks like the scent smells. It pretty, delicate and feminine. The floral cap is lovely and looks like a delicate ceramic flower even though it feels like kinda cheap plastic. The pretty black bow ties the look togeather.

This is one that is hard for me to rate. Objectively it is a beautiful scent with good performance. Still, I just don't care for it. I have nothing negative to say about it, but it is still going into my declutter box.

Caitydidnt

I’ve loved this scent since it came out, it’s one of the ones I can’t stop smelling. I think the musk and cashmeran give the florals a depth that I really enjoy. It’s an inoffensive scent that I think would work well for every day, in an office, or even a day date. Unfortunately it’s not very long lasting and by midday I definitely need to reapply.

OloraGolosina

Wao, this perfume is extremely weak, boring and predictable. Always sample first, it is the most generic of florals, I can think of dozen floral perfumes way more interesting than this one. One works so hard to earn money, one needs to spend it wisely and this is not it.

Eau de Cola

I just received a sample of this because people rave about it so much... I have to say, I don't get it. I'm really terrible at describing, or even detecting, specific scents and to me I get a sharp hit of citrus when it's first sprayed. Perhaps it's the Papaya flower? I sprayed it about half an hour ago, and it's settling a bit now and becoming actually quite soft and pretty, but still nothing that amazing. I'm not sure I'd go out and splurge money on a large bottle because it's not worth it to sit through that screechy phase. I usually like floral, fresh and powdery scents, but this isn't a winner.

Liisa7

A really pretty fresh summery scent. For me it has a bit of an aquatic vibe to it. Perfect for when you want to wear a light scent that doesn’t smother anyone. It would also be a good “out of the shower” scent.
I think that even people who usually don’t like florals would like this. Yes, it isn’t the most unique perfume out there, but it’s still beautiful and feminine.
The only downside is the lasting power and poor sillage. 3 hours into it, I can smell it only faintly on my skin. It almost doesn’t have a sillage, it’s noticeable only if someone hugs me during the first few hours of wearing it.
If someone gifted this to me, I would be happy. I wouldn’t buy the full bottle for myself though, as I just couldn’t justify it because of the poor sillage and lasting power.

Taurien

Fresh, green and aquatic. Apart from the lotus, the narcissus is also clearly noticeable in the floral part.

It has a moderate sillage and lasts for about 8 hours on my skin.

If I had it, I would use it on informal occasions in the summer, but it gives me similar vibes to a much cheaper perfume from my collection, Lightly Bloom by Zara, which performs similarly or even slightly better on my skin, so I wouldn't buy it.

Dolce is the Italian word for Sweet but here “sweet” is used more in the sense of “cute”. Dolce is a cute fresh floral.
I can sense some fresh pears or green apples in the start (could be the papaya blossoms, which I don’t know how they smell like). Surprisingly the neroli note is not very strong to my nose, just imparts a zesty feeling. Neither is the Narcissus strong, it does not come as waxy and old school as it can sometimes be, but rather, the whole heart notes are more or less abstract, fresh florals. They give a cute next door girl impression. Unfortunately, the base lacks any depth, (she is still young and inexperienced-your neighbor ☺️).
Regarding performance, on first spraying it seems that the sillage would be promising, but unfortunately it soon reduces to a skin scent with average longevity-around 4 to 5 hours.
The bottle cap is very cute paying a nod to the Italian ceramic art - Capo di Monte, but the scent itself is not necessarily very Italian or Sicilian IMHO.
Dolce is a cute fresh floral in a cute bottle. It would have been a good product for Avon or Oriflame but for D&G it’s just Mediocre.

Genevieve Gwendolyn

I blind bought this perfume and at first I was not impressed .I think the neroli was disturbing me but after the opening the beautiful water lily ,narcissus and amaryllis made such a beautiful combination in my skin that I decided to keep it ,as a not big fan of florals I love this one is beautiful and classy .Is perfect for spring and it can work good in summer too.i am planning to try the Dolce Garden flanker next.

VirgowithLeo

This is a lighter version of Versace Dylan Blue (women one) very aquatic perfect scent
And like that one, it turns hairspray scent on me/ Nair hair removal cream scent

Mimachan

It reminds me of Body Shop Oceanus body mist which already discontinue for a looong looong time ago.... I bought this one because of the memory... this is a great parfume when you wear it on a cold days, rainy day as long as not humid... it will smell way way way better under that condition... I'ts an okay smell on a hot day but nothing special.... but when you use it on a cold days, it smells more fresh and aquatic

PS: If anyone can help me find a parfume that reminds you of Body Shop Moon Floral body mist, I would love to try buy it....

Aksha.aa

It’s okay for me. I find it very refreshing with all the white florals and I’m not someone who’s into florals but this is something I like to wear. The fragrance has something in it which I can’t pin down but I find it very unique. The bottle is very pretty. It dries down to a very musky and powdery scent after that strong floral opening. The projection is weak but okay and the longevity on my skin is about 2 hours. Will not be purchasing this again but will wear it until I run out of it😗

AlexaO22

It's a like, but nothing memorable....

It's a pretty floral, feminine and inoffensive, with innocence vibes. Easy reach for spring or summer. Safe blind buy or safe gift if you're looking for something around those lines, I can't imagine anyone not liking this. It would be perfect as a first perfume for a teenager. And I'm not saying it's childish or too teenybooper -I can see an 80 year old grandma rocking this too! Decent sillage and good longevity at 8+ hours.

alsa7

Dolce takes me straight to Splendor, by Elisabeth Arden, only less elaborate.
Good for spring and summer.

MzRiel

The scent is very fresh and elegant. It reminds me of straight up flowers. I would say that it is for sure more of a mature but pretty scent. Floral, musky, and powdery. It's not exactly my cup of tea but my mom loves it. The bottle however I think is absolutely beautiful and elegant.

Ash212

This is a very expensive smelling fresh scent. There of course are the florals but I can also smell the musk which makes it slightly darker than your average fresh scents. Its not revoluntionary or strong but I think I might purchase a small sometime since its summer!

London Lady

I was curious to try this as the notes intrigued me. I'm actually really disappointed. It is incredibly weak; to be honest, it reminded me of the perfume I used to make as a child - come on, we've all been there! I'd go into the bathroom, put some water in a jug, throw in petals from my grandmother's rose bush and a few daisies...squish it all together and pour into a little bottle - hey presto! OK so maybe Dolce is marginally better than that, I mean its not awful, but its very underwhelming. I literally have my wrist pressed up against my nose and I can barely smell it. It does have that sort of hair shampoo/conditioner vibe, but to be fair I think my shampoo conditioner smells stronger than this. If you love it and it works for you that's great, but for me it's definitely not something I would buy.

Duracella

It smells like a cleaning product.
How I like my bathroom: fresh and pleasant.
A nice air freshener.

Jernê Knowles

What a delicious perfume! I super approve of the idea of a sophisticated perfume with a face of streams and that refer to my dear and beloved northern region of this diverse country called Brazil, which I am native! Very delicious and organized in the right measure olfactory speaking.

The smell of Papaya is reminiscent of breakfast on summer days, right away, but you can smell the whole papaya tree, just like trunk, leaves and flowers, and by the way, a sensitive tree that has a short lifespan! Néroli brings a citrus and greenish touch that lives up to the beautiful liquid!

In drying it is forest and waterfront, soaked and flooded regions, with creeping and vivid vegetation, fed by fresh water and molded to the heat of the sun that touches them. The Narcissus is beautiful here, very greasy, dense, still green and brightly vegetable, with no memories of manipulable products. Vitória-Régia is sublime with its characteristics of aguapé aroma and sums in a punctual way in this fragrance.

At the farewell, it becomes more subtle, and leaves in the skin an aroma of delicious river bath, clean smell and connoted to the purified, delicious to feel! Woody touches are notorious and a musk bed sensualizes and makes it very feminine; super valid and worthy of attention!

Gyps

Got this as a sample with other perfumes and wearing it now. It’s a fresh and summery scent. There’s an aquatic and a slight green note. It would be ok for the office and not offensive. I won’t purchase as it’s not my kind of scent, and it would be a waste of money as I would rarely, if ever, use it. But overall it’s ok if this is the kind of fragrance you like.

Flared Maple

This is a unique enough fresh scent that people will recognize it on you. I wore this a lot in spring and later gifted it to a friend. She said the first time she wore it she immediately thought “this smells like Maple”.

It has an almost fruity quality to it. The water lily is really dominant to my nose, which gives this a very “juicy” vibe. Makes me think of watermelon and cucumber bodylotion.
Its one of those scents that makes you feel fresh, clean and well groomed. Very office appropriate as well, as it doesn’t seem to offend anyone and the silage is quite moderate.

Raylin

This is a nice smell, but its pretty basic smelling too. Its strong on me, and gives me a headach. Theres something in it that just doesnt smell as good on me as it does on my mom lol I like it on other people better.

Roses1357

I don’t know why, but I’m smelling a hint of banana, and it just ruins it for me.

Anfissa

This is a unique strong floral scent. It has Mediterranean and tropical notes. I have never been to Sicily, but I would imagine lemon trees, amaryllis blooming among other fragrant bright flowers in the glorious golden light. There is a touch of watery freshness, an awareness of the sea nearby. Sitting in a lovely summer dress eating melon by the small water lily pond, half-overgrown with yellow fragrant white and yellow narcissus and wild roses. The bottle is just so adorable, that lovely porcelain like flower on top and the bottle is that gentle green- exquisite. Best in Spring and summer or maybe in winter when dreaming of sunny citrusy gardens by the seaside. The florals here have a bright, lush, intoxicating romantic quality.
If there is a negative to this, it’s that it does have an aquatic quality mixed with heavy floral neroli. Sometime, the aquatic note makes this a bit too much for me. Most successfully I wore it in the summertime. Not a safe blind buy. Try a sample or try it at Sephora. Good projection and smells very feminine.

gretta

Starts off as a sweet, generic, but somewhat pretty little thing, then dries down to this warm, gorgeous, almost incense/head shop scent, but in the best possible way. Wow! This turned from a meh to a love!

Silverquick

Blind sampling of a courtesy sample I received with another purchase. Yuck! Reminds me of two of the least liked scents I’ve tried/had - Shi by Alfred Sung and Oceanus by the body shop. I loathe aquatic notes…. If you enjoy those then this will be right up your alley. Projects well.

Kinga_

Boring. Your typical Daisy by Marc Jacobs but less sophisticated

Lola78

Received it as a gift several years ago and used about half of the bottle during summer and spring seasons. Without paying much attention to the notes, I was pretty happy with the smell and thought it was a perfect light summery scent with a hint of sweetness underneath. Then one or two years went by without using it at all. When I recently rediscovered it at the back of my frag stash, I changed its place so that it would be more within reach. Sadly, I discovered that the scent either totally changed or my nose perceives it differently (which is possible, given the fact that I went through several covid infections these past 2 years - although it did not happen with other perfumes I own). At the moment I am unable to sense any sweetness and I detect strong white floral notes, namely exactly the kind I dislike: sharp, intrusive, a bit nauseating and reminiscent of window cleaning sprays. I don't know if I will ever be able to finish the bottle under these conditions...

scentssilly

I tried to like this fragrance, but there was just something in it that I didn't enjoy. I'm not sure if it's the narcissus note that's unappealing to my nose; it's just too overbearing and frankly, a bit smelly.

hatysa

There is not much to say about this perfume at this time, there are already many reviews about the notes, so mine will just be to say that this is my happy scent. Unpretentious, it evokes happy memories. I suffer from migraines and it doesn't cause me any problems, so it's a win-win for me.
I love this.

Chaos Queen

Smelled great in the bottle, very fresh and springy, but it got very heavy when it settled on me and it gave my friend a migraine. Other skin chemistry might have better luck, but I recommend you try before you buy.

Update: I have a headache now too.

StormChaserrr

I don’t typically don’t go for floral aquatics but this bottle of perfume was a very nice surprise. Upon an initial spray it smells very green and pungent but not cloyingly. I think it really shines when it dries down on your skin. It gets really musky and it just smells super yummy to me at this stage. I don’t know if it’s cause I like musk or musk likes me but either way this scent lingers on my skin. Every time I wear it, it stays on me for hours and hours. I think it’s an excellent fragrance and better suited for spring and summer.

Mir5586

I thought it smelled green and faded away way too quick. Brought it back immediately.

VeroMikaela

Dolce is an original appearance in the current candyfragrance landscape. It is a floral, yes, but not an innocent and romantic one. The lily evokes passion, a dark side of personality. The water lily with its mysterious aroma and the cashmeran completes that image. It is a perfume of summer nights, by the sea ...

lavendarkitten

Light and fresh and shampooey (bright jasmine-y not cloying at all)

Compostflower

Crisp clean and fresh was an obsession of mine when I couldn’t afford bottles of perfume. I would love hunting this down in ultra and Sephora for a spray. After owning it I will say it doesn’t last long at all but the smell is vibrant and alive it’s crisp and pleasant.

greenriver

I like this perfume, but it's not too exciting in my mind. It is apparently floral but it smells like melon and stone fruits on my skin with a floral "aftersmell".

Peaches77

Very light and fresh. Very clean. Perfect for daytime. Not a strong smell. Almost like wearing nothing at all.

Coma Berenices

This one is my favorite from the Dolce collection and the only one I kept.
It's kinda aquatic, fresh, but it also has a very soft and slight sweetness. It awakens the senses. It's not unique, but it's very mature, refined floral and a perfect choice for the spring.
And the bottle is very nice too, I like that big flower :)

_NicoleNonya

Funny story how I got this perfume. A friend of mine & I were debating over my perfume addiction.
Between my two teen daughters & I, we have well over 200 perfumes.
She sent me a $30 purse spray of this as a surprise. (I already owned D&G 'Shine'). Her signature scents are Dolce, CD's Miss Dior Blooming Boquete & Burberry Her Blossom. (All in the same realm of scents). Dolce is my FAVORITE after original Poison by Dior.
It's a Fresh floral perfume, a romantic elegant waltz in Sicilia via the Mediterranean ports. Energizing and mood lifting.
Dolce blasts you with neroli and papaya flower on initial spray, the dry down is a smooth whiff of musk and cashmere leaves which to me, screams sophistication and class.
It's not loud, naughty, but if positivity were a person, Dolce by D&G would be her.
D&G has been doing a Macy's promotion sending a free candle for 'The Only One INTENSE' version w/ a large bottle so I ended up buying the original gift set of "The Only One" since INTENSE has jasmine in it, (I've had way too much jasmine notes lately).
This perfume was worth every penny of the $106 I paid. If you live in a hot climate like Fl, spray 1 shot behind the neck, 1 behind the knees, that's all you need, fresh out the shower.
The bottle is beautiful and inspired by Sicilia. 💘💘💘
Just buy it. 🥰😍
My friend was right, this is pure happiness. 💘💘💘🕊️🕊️🕊️👏👏👏

kathmarie

Very light not a scent I wouldn't buy again as I like a scent that talks & tells a story. This one pops in northern Ontario's
winter.

ParisLoveXo

I like it but no lasting power on me . Really aquatic soapy floral .. reminds me of like a body wash or deodorant smell but Literally disappears after 10 minutes :(

lihik

I had this and gave it away. I started out really loving it and paying full price but with time I gradually moved to really disliking this scent, it's so overpowering and just too much. Too floral, not enough depth but also too strong. I understand why someone else would love it, it just was an impulse buy for me and I should have tried more scents with different notes other than floral.

alsa7

There are girly florals and more mature florals. I think Dolce is in the latter category. It's elegant, it's grown up. It feels familiar, not generic. And it's very versatile.

Anamandy

I don't like this. It is too generic for me. I liked Garden so I thought I would like this too; but I don't. Nondescript florals with some citrus type notes and white musk. Reminds me of a laundry product. Silage and longevity leave a lot to be desired too. I purchased a mini and am glad I didn't bb a bottle of this.

Just a heads up. If you get a mini take the tie off the neck of the bottle once you open it, otherwise your bottle will evaporate, like mine did. The tie interferes with the bottle being closed properly once opened. Since I don't like the fragrance anyway, I don't care. But if it had been something I liked I wouldn't have been too happy about it right now.

charlotte_twister

It's coming back to a hotel room after the busiest shopping spree of your girlhood. You finally figure out how to unlock the door and bam - beds are perfectly made, much unlike how you left it in the morning. You're so overwhelmed by the rush of traveling, you realize you haven't had alone time in a while, waiting for whoever is showering to finish before you go. The sun is setting outside, the view is outstanding, it's your last night out at the city and you know you'll miss it terribly. They only offer a couple of channels on the TV and you grew fond of the jewelry sales network. You're so relaxed it entertains you. You even forget what you bought earlier that day. Every bag you open is a surprise - new clothes, new shoes, new curling iron - everything summing up to equal what you wear that night for the theatre.

Case closed. That's the smell of Dolce. And I'm sure I made it sound like I have a past with this fragrance, but I don't even. It's a heavily familiar scent for, I'm guessing, most people with female friends. It's such a hug. Dolce is the type of fragrance I would rather spray on my bed than on my skin. Something I want to welcome me home instead of taking it along.

I strongly qualify Dolce as a sunset perfume. Something about wearing this perfume during the day makes me feel specially excited for the night. Beautiful effect.

LSAUG

Straight up abstract white floral shower gel w/ horrid amounts of cashmeran. Gave me a headache. Cashmeran has that overly sweet musky quality that makes me gag. I didn't check the note list before I bought the sample (it was $1) I won't do that again! YUCK! Major hate.

Samantha Zin

Its definitely a floral scent, I'm not a floral lover but I do like this one, it has a slight sweetness to it which makes me like the floral notes in this one.

mayaree

A sharp floral that is also overwhelmingly powdery. I bought this years ago and can still recall having to fix the black ribbon habitually because after some time the elastic would become loose, and it would constantly pop off.
Overall quite feminine and dainty, but easily intrusive due to what I'm assuming is the heavy musk and cashmeran. I cannot stress how sharp and powdery it is, reminding me of an old lady at times. Miss Dior Blooming Bouquet is a nicer, more rounded, and more youthful alternative, in my opinion.

karlikarli

A basic white floral, nothing very special about it. I usually love scents with neroli but I really can not smell any neroli in this. It doesn’t last long on me, very weak.

Syrah14

This is nice! I did repurchase a second bottle, but I actually don't reach for it much anymore. It's full of fresh flowers, and a creamy cashmeran element. It's lovely and your perfect every day inoffensive fresh floral. I get lots of compliments on this. It's only slightly powdery on the drydown - not too much which is good for my tastes. My qualm with this fragrance is it's just a little boring and linear. It smells good and floral and honestly, expensive, but it just smells like any department store perfume.

Mr Nosy Parker

It's good, but very much on the white floral side. Cashmeran is barely detectable, intimate sillage not overly musky.

ilolovesfragrance

subtle, and elegant, there's such a beautiful quality to how simple this scent is. the musk isn't really coming through enough for this to really lean masculine to me, but i do consider this as a unisex scent. the cashmere-an notes blend so well with all the white florals giving it this mature softness that feels so comforting. I recommend at least a tiny .16 oz of this scent for anyone just getting to learn more about fragrances since the notes aren't overwhelming or excessive. When I smell something new i try to imagine how the notes would translate to an advert or something, and with this I can visualize a person in their mid-late twenties wrapped in a clean, warm blanket with their lover while it storms outside..house plants gently dancing around them. so pretty, so recommend.

valelita

Nice floral. Smells elegant and femenine. However kind of generic, and frankly a little boring for me. But this is a very safe go-to fragrance and I feel like any woman could rock this, all ages beginning late teens.

juicypearxo

Synthetic and screechy. Hurts my nose tbh. I don’t like this, it’s such a strong sharp floral which dries down to this dead flower vibe…. I got this as a free sample and will probably never reach for this… 3/10

diamond74

This is a nice spring/summer fragrance. Its a fresh, aquatic floral. I find it to be very linear, smelling the same from beginning to end. Dolce is nice for any occasion, but I did get bored with it very quickly. Glad I only had the purse size.

IgnitingFlares

I was searching for a new office scent when I bumped into this one. It is light, fresh, crisp with a pronounced watery apple scent (doesn't make sense, not amongst the notes) and soft floral notes. It's a very linear perfume, there's no sharp beginning that smells different than the perfume an hour later. It's not offensive, you won't get a headache from it, and it's not overly popular so you won't smell like everyone else. But it's not superinteresting

kcoughlin

Your average white floral. Not offensive but not super interesting

Atomikbomb_

This is something I'd consider recommending to anyone who is searching for an inoffensive, obtainable, fragrance. I actually think it's slightly more interesting than many offerings currently, and it doesn't smell like a million different notes.

This is quite clearly a super clean, watery fragrance. I got a sample of this and forgot what the notes were supposed to be by this time upon actually testing it. However, I immediately knew that it was a sort of lily, or some floral with aquatic notes. I re-checked on here to be sure I was correct. It's *that* strikingly watery and white floral. It has a clean musk that lasts for a decent amount of time. That's basically all though, I don't smell daffodil, or anything else distinctly. This is not weak or fleeting as many other things I've tried over the past couple of years, but it is soft and polite.

I enjoy this because I don't think it's trying too hard. It's quite nice and softly elegant without being boring or too refined. I think it could make a brilliant gym fragrance, office fragrance, or visiting your picky family/in-law fragrance 🙃

So to summarize, I like this more than I expected and am reminded of early summer/late spring after a mild rain 🌧

betagm

I liked it but I had allergi :( I gave it to my mom

twiztidladii

Very nice fresh, clean, floral fragrance. Definitely a safe blind buy.

MiniMena

To be honest I didn't know what to expect. I had put this fragrance on my wish list and blind bought it today at Marshalls. I thought it must be nice because I mostly saw positive reviews. But for me it depends on the way it smells on my skin....and ....its beautiful! A nice calming scent which could probably be worn every day for any occasion Great blind buy! It very much reminds me of the original Avon Haiku perfume that I used to wear and the first few minutes reminds me of Issey Miyake EDT. I'm so glad I have this in my collection!

psasa

If you do enjoy a clean, floral scent that is long-lasting and very subtle, this is the perfume for you. This was a favourite when I was younger, and something I would recommend to someone who does not enjoy strong perfumes, or prefer a clean scent. Perfect gift for teens. I however find Dolce & Gabbana getting away with shameful remarks in media time after time, and sold my bottle. Boo.

PerfumeDoll

My absolute fav of the Dolce line. Super soft light floral wearable summer fragrance. Will always have this cute bottle in my collection.

AnnaElli

Nicely fresh floral, I'd say kind of juicy fresh, with a hint oft light fruity sweetness. Nothing that stands out, or make people turn their heads, but is is inoffensive, it is overall pleasant, quite easy to wear, especially if you are into delicately sweet florals. As @algecalipso mentioned below, I quite get the honeydew melon comparison, especially in the first few minutes, then it subsides and floral notes become more pronounced.

Dancer16!

For some reason, this works really well with my chemistry. It's fresh, somewhat sexy and has that musk that I like. That said, I'm not a fan of overtly sweet perfumes such as My Way.

This smells really good layered with "In the Stars" by Bath and Body. Its a nice daytime/office scent on its own.

MK55555

It's that type of fragrance which i don't hate but i can't wear it, because it gets me sick. Not sad about it anyways, nothing special to me. To much floral

moma4faith

I love this fragrance. When worn, it does not shout at other people, but instead whispers to the wearer. Soft, but not ignored. Intimate, but not carnal. Floral, fresh, sweet. It is a fragrance you wear for yourself, not to grab the attention of others. The opening is strong and quickly settles down. On my skin, it fades quite away before the drydown, which is sad. This is how my skin reacts to most freshy floral green fragrances. The scent is lovely, though, and I smile with each and every spritz. While it is not a foot-stomping attention grabber, I have to wear it every few days. Isn't that the essence of elegance?

algekalipso

I just want to contribute to the conversation by pointing out that to me the primary association that arises when I smell this perfume is "honeydew melon". I am surprised I don't see anyone else mention this note/factor/angle to the scent.

stacia79

The bottle is adorable and that is the best part of Dolce. Otherwise it's rather underwhelming. I will admit that the drydown is a lot more enjoyable for me than the beginning. The drydown reminds me a bit of shy floral aquatics like Alfred Sung Shi. But the top is a strange mix of powdery musk and uber sweet floral that to my nose immediately brings to mind feminine hygiene products in pastel wrapping.

fangpili

I have had this a long time & didn’t find it too interesting. I recently tried it again and found it fresh, floral and fruity... I pick up the Amarrylis & Papaya mostly, bound with waterlily. This is somewhat generic but nevertheless is a lovely, light & bright fruity floral, good for a cheerful Spring day.

NancyQuo

This perfume is perfect for very hot summers, the floral notes are perceived in a delicate and subtle way. A beautiful fragrance, where water lily, amarilis and white narcissus merge into a wonderful ethereal, musk at the end highlights all the other notes.

Zethre

A pleasant, slightly green floral, but fairly generic to my nose. I prefer more definite floral notes of individual flowers, so I shan't be buying a bottle.
Reminds me quite strongly of J'Adore.
Floral Drops is more interesting, as is Garden, and Shine is a delight, if rather short lived.

Kath Grace

This one is all about the dry down for me. Initial hit is white floral. Heavy white floral. Within about 5 minutes, I start to notice this juice settling into a cozy, powdery warm floral. Really nice once I'm past that initial blast and when becomes a lovely, settled and unique fragrance! For someone who typically loves gourmand, warmer skin scents, I'm pleasantly surprised!

EllaDe7

I love the classic Dolce. It is the best of them all for me. The other versions have a bit too much of something or other.
The classic Dolce is just perfect for a light floral scent.

Sunshine_jaybird

Made for a classy, elegant lady. Nice scent, I get more of a floral scent not much sweetness...but maybe that is how perfumes mix with my body chemistry since this isn't the first perfume to come across with stronger floral to me. A good buy.

ameskay

I wanna love it.
But can't help feeling, rather disappointed.
Maybe it's just me, maybe the perfume itself is just too light and too soft for me.
Reminds me of Christian Dior J'adore [which I have the same feeling too].

vattenmelon

WAnt this so bad:) its so fresh and light. A very pleasant perfume ,green- but not sharp at all

MK55555

I expected to like it more, but it is to much floral to me. Reminds me toilet spray in my frien's mom's house.

SailorV

I wanted to love Dolce, because the notes make it sound like an interesting floral aquatic, but it's not. It's pretty and it doesn't fall into the household cleanser trap some other aquatics fall into, but it's really not exciting at all. A clean, soft waterlily scent, and that's about it. No narcissus or anything. I wish I could smell what some others are smelling here. I enjoy ethereal, watery florals from time to time as a palate-cleanser between my heavier scents, but only if they still have some character, which I can't find in Dolce.

This might make a good gift to someone who likes clean scents and doesn't have an extensive collection: It's very inoffensive, daytime- and office-appropriate and comes in a super cute bottle.

delightme5

A truly pretty, petite, feminine and "SWEET" perfume. Sweet in an old school kind of way.
There is that sweet water lily note presence and because we have been saturated with sweet gourmands, you almost think it is a gourmand but it certainly is not. And dont think it is weak - it is not. It fuses around softly.
I kept thinking it reminds me of something past, and then it hit me, Laura by Laura Biagiotti - more so when worn on skin . On card it takes a different turn, ESPECIALLY in the end where the woody like cashmeran becomes evident.
Dolce is more potent.

Amna Al-Rubayee

It's a soft garden-smelling (green) scent with some floral & watery notes. In summer, it's absolutely stunning with a moderate sillage & longevity. It's very nice! I'd recommend it for the people who like light floral scents & as a spring scent

Coquita

This perfume is a sound go-to for very hot summers. The main note is the water lily, supported by neroli and musk. The dry-down, on the other hand, smells mostly of cashmeran. It's nice, but I guess there are better all-rounders for the summer.

ignorabilis

I remember smelling this for the first time in 2014 when it first came out and being absolutely in love immediately with its bright softness. I wasn't really interested in perfume back then but still I remembered this one until today. Now six years later I stumbled over a miniature version of this and thought this was a great way to test this fragrance again. And what can I say …

This is just such a beautiful, soft, feminine scent! It just makes me feel so special and pretty. It has such a delicate brightness to it. It's airy, even a bit aquatic. Not sweet (and for me also not soapy) at all.

It starts a bit greener, then becomes more musky with time and you start to really get this beautiful cashmere touch.
It sits really close to the skin and doesn't leave a trail but I think the longevity is quite good. I usually reapply after about 6-7 hours.
When I think of perfect occasions to wear this to, I think of a lunch date in spring and also of university/office. I think it's a beautiful daily scent for warmer months :)

Also I think the bottle and advertisement are perfect for this fragrance.
What you see really is what you get!

A "love" from me - and I can't wait to purchase a bigger bottle of it :)

Gintaxx

I did not expect to like this one, as I've tested most of the Dolce line, and found almost all of them pretty lazy, 2-note, flat, over-promoted and under-delivered, synthetic, and very forgettable fragrances.
I'm a big fan of quality light florals, and this one while I wouldn't call "quality', is likable and pleasant. Starts off a bit sharp, border masculine, and artificial. Later on blooms into a pleasant green, watery floral. It becomes a skin scent rather quickly but lingers a while.
I feel like this is nothing groundbreaking, nothing that will rock your world, or turn heads - but it's not intended to.
I have a 1.6oz bottle up for a swap if anyone's interested <3

perfumelovere

I wanted to love this because the notes are everything I adore in perfumes but it falls way flat. Like others have described... this is so nondescript and underwhelming. I may be anosmic to it also because I couldn't smell anything after a half hour. Odd how a scent can be neither good nor bad.

GinCatsBooks

Dolce has been on my radar for a while, no idea why I've never smelt it but I'm glad I finally did, I was watching a vlog by a British youtuber that I love and I noticed that she had a bottle of this on her chest of drawers, since I know we both share the same love for Chloe, Narciso Rodriguez For Her, Jo Malone Peony & Blush Suede and Coco Mademoiselle, I thought I'd look for a tester.

Its a very plesant, fresh fragrance and it smells how the bottle looks; transparent, floral and pastel green. It is, however not a typical aquatic scent to my nose, I think because of the narcisus, it smells more like a humid aquatic, like being in a flower garden during a summer storm, the cashmere and musks give a soft, snuggly sort of feel to the overall scent.

Its quite a soft skin scent but thats ok, sometimes you just want a fresh, soft scent that makes you feel fresh, and Dolce is perfect for that, longevity is good, I've managed to get 7 hours of wear out of it with feint traces still remaining after showering.

I'm glad I finally got a bottle and I'll be making it part of my perminant wardrobe alongside Chloe EdT, wonderful for summer and spring, but also for daily wear/easy reach.

Jana711xx

Light and breezy and perfect for hot summer days

panda12345

light and soapy

Winolalala

My signature fragrance! Even though the fragrance sits very close to the skin, when you give someone a hug they smell you as that innocent girl-next-door haha..
Very fresh, clean, florely (but not tooo)
Gives me an instant mood-booster when I spray it on in the morning.
Recommended for people who love lighter fragrances.

RachelSeun

Simple, fresh and floral, Dolce is a spring time, enjoyable scent that smells like soft linen sheets. Not all fragrances need to be loud and this fragrance isn’t, it sits close to the skin so it works perfectly for those who work in offices or can’t wear heavy fragrance to work. On my skin, the fragrance doesn’t really transform but stays the same through out the day with lily being the stand out note. Works well mixed and layered together with Armani’s Acqua Di Gioia for that a lovely fresh boost or even Valentino’s Donna to add a little sweetness to the scent.

xx2901

I have been wearing this few summers ago. It was hot and humid but the perfume worked as a refreshing rain when sun is shining and rainbows appear. It has dewy garden scent, infused by white narcissus aromatherapic aroma. Basically, if you know how smells white narcissus with yellow cups inside, you can imagine how Dolce smells. Just add a litle watery accords and a little apple shampoo in dry down.

DT953

I've owned the Floral Drops version of this, so I decided to give the original version a try. I must admit I prefer the Floral Drops version as the dewiness eradicates the mildly musty quality this happens. However, I must admit that I do like this quite a bit. It's a beautiful spring time scent that won't quite work in the winter, which is now for me. I can't wait to try it in the warmer weather where it will truly blossom.

bel.gravia

I will have to skip Dolce. I smell a clash of notes. It is very aquatic and floral at the same time, quite harsh.

Science&Scents

This was my signature scent for a couple years and then my mom started to wear it as her's--I yield this beauty to mother, gladly. It makes her so happy.

This is sweet, clean and a little musky. The neroli keeps it a little sharp without going overboard. The Lily gives it a soapy quality. This is lovely. I get the comparisons to Chanel's Chance Eau Fraiche but this is more feminine; sweet and delicate. Perfect for work and makes a wonderful signature scent.

moma4faith

Dolce takes discernment. It is layered, but not in a loud or brash way. It is subtle, soft, and intentioned without overwhelming. The floral opening is sweet with an undercurrent of the aquatic arising almost immediately. The softest of musk comes in later. The scent stays close to the skin, but it stays well on me. On my clothes, it seems just a slight bit more aquatic. It is lovely, like a warm morning mist in late spring, in the garden, before the real heat of summer comes on. I would wear this at any time, for any occasion. It captivates with a kind of subtly and calm - there is nothing loud or audacious in this scent. It is lovely from beginning to end.

PeonySugar

What a bright blessing. It smells like bouquet of early daffodils to me with green stems and water. For the summer days it's perfect and cuts the heat with aromatic breeze. That could be really nice perfume for a bride.

dglightblue

REVIEW FOR DOLCE SHINE 2020

It's a bright scent. It instantly brought Lanvingirl in capri, d&g light blue, light blue italian zest, to mind.

Theres a bit of a funny blunt sour note in the middlethe forst half hour, in the middle of thebright surroundingnotes. This evaporated, and afterward is nice on me.

I feel it has an essence perhaps of dolce and or dolce floral drops within, the dew drops type of freshness and general feel.

I tried the sample in the ones the pharmacies order from pre release, so not out of the pretty yellow bottle.

Summer test, skin

Anast4s1a

When of perfumer Sumit Bhasin who created Dolce was asked :
"So what did Domenico Dolce & Stefano Gabbana tells you? "
He answered :
"It was a touching and rich of emotions story of boundless love for Sicily. I woven a fragrance from their secret signs and their dear details. "

A flourish of ink on a Dolce perfume -bottle represents a copy of the signature of father Domenico Dolce from a sewing atelier in the little town of Polizzi Generosa near Palermo.

masako_30

A little note, if this can help; years ago, on perfume release occasion, somebody told me that Domenico Dolce simply called it "Dolce" as he wanted to dedicate it to the memory of his father, deciding to insert on the bottle a reproduction of his father's signature, in flashy cursive font.
So "Dolce" does not indicate the adjective (doesn't want to mean sweet, here) but the surname of designer's family.
Thus, Dolce which in Italian means sweet, can be misleading...

Anast4s1a

Although this fragrance is called sweet ( "dolce " from italian translates as "sweet"), it is not.

Dolce is soft, sensual, airy, intimate and feminine scent.

Papaya flowers and neroli leafs give Dolce a light citrus and green notes. Amaryllis, narcissus and water lily - incredibly airy with a slight sweetness of the combination of notes.
The base of the composition is very warm and soft - a touch of musk combined with cashmere wood (which I adore! ). This fragrant sounding is associated with me with a soft almond cream & cashmere - at the same time warm and airy.
Despite its tenderness and airiness the aroma keeps very well.
(4 -5 hours on skin & 6 -7 hours on tissues ).

Dolce has a very soft trail that does not extend over long distances and surrounds you with a gentle aroma cloud.

This fragrance does not require a luxurious outfits and jewelry.
In it wants to be naturally feminine, real.

Amascent

This is a beautiful summer day time scent. Very feminine, soft, rounded and pretty. Its a sundress in a bottle. Sexy, refined with a little mystery added courtesy of the musk. It is very daytime and elegant. No sharp edges as other bright fragrances are, and no offensive bouquets of florals either. Nor is it aquatic feeling as the rounded summer day fragrances tend to be. If I had to compare this I would place it next to Light Blue in feeling only. Since you would wear this in the same circumstances, but they are entirely different. Dolce being a warm floral, while Light blue is a fresh aquatic but they both share the same rounded summery softness so I would group them together and choose one or the other for the appropriate occasion. Light blue to me feels like a casual free sprited blonde with wavy beach hair wearing cutoff shorts. Where as to me Dolce feels like a bombshell girly girl in a summer dress. All the flankers and other versions of Dolce I hate, some are too fresh, some are too floraly and put you off, but this I adore. It truly is like a warm Sicilian sunrise. Beautiful, soft, warm and rounded, feminine and luxurious, and just a little mysterious. Sexy and lovely. This is a keeper.

rchayes

This honestly reminds me of J’adore by Dior, but I like this more.

KittyDeBeauvoir

It's nice, fresh, floral, and pretty!

If you can smell it.

It honestly has next to no staying power, and it's a very close skin scent!
Another negative is the slight sour smell I get. I think it must be the aquatic note, but I'm trying to get used it it.

I don't hate it.
I'm not comfortable saying I dislike it.

But I am a wee bit disappointed.

I have higher hopes for the Floral Garden, and Rose cousins of this, but I'm not rushing out to try them now.

***

Kitty rating: 4/10.

SJames92

This is so beautiful! It's fresh, clean and feminine. It's starts off soapy, like you just came out of the shower, then it softens and the florals and musks come out. Nothing harsh or scratchy. Very well made but but best of all, it's so easy to wear.

SoftWisdom

A watery, soapy floral, "just out of the shower" fragrance. Makes me feel clean! :) I sometimes spray this before going to the gym or dance class. Very pleasant, modest, and classy. I think I overdosed on the scent however since one of my current body washes smells almost just the same (although not as nice). Probably will not repurchase, but am enjoying my bottle all the same :) Thumbs up from me!

lrnonken

nice, sweet, generic

VanillaTabbyCat1963

I bought Dolce because of the waterlily being the prominent note.

I really love this scent! The musk does a great job grounding floral notes for hours. This scent is a really fun and lighthearted approach to a perfume. I can see me wearing this into the summer!

cherryblossom.o9

Have to be honest, really didn't like this one. To me it's so faint, like it's not even there but still manages to give me a headache every time I wear it. Overly floral and not in a good way. Big pass.

RuthRose

I'm not a big fan of powdery fragrances but this is gentle and pretty and is pleasant to wear. I like this, but it is possibly unremarkable on my skin.

masako_30

This is me.
I won't have even need any necessary time to know it well, to love Dolce.
It's all about musk and narcissus, and that's good enough for me.
My bottle of Dolce Garden is about to end, it's a good chance to grab Dolce instead.

Forbiddenjade

I had this since a couple of years and it sits sad on a shelf.

It is not a bad fragrance, mind. Just too weak on me. No sillage, longevity is only a dream.
Such a pity, for that floral accord truly got me in first instance, it really works well.

I have half a bottle - perhaps a little more than that - to swap with something else, if anyone is interested.

Message me in case.

lamlamie2013

I did hesitate to blind buy this Dolce due to its low rating score, but I gave it a try because I was interested in aquatic flowers such as the water lily. I agree that it is gentle but it has no characteristics. And the longer I wore it, the more uncomfortable I felt. I also find no water lily but rather green flowers and watery fruits. So, a pass for me!

Soofiya

Received a half full bottle of Dolce in a swap today.I usually try to avoid "floral-aquatic" perfumes but I wanted to have this bottle so bad that I accepted the deal.bytheway now that I have it I can see that I don't like it's bottle as much as I thought.I hate touching frusted bottles, also I think a huge part of it's beauty goes away after using up the green perfume inside
Now about the scent;
It's a good one in this genre.I can't pickup that type of sharp aquatic scent that I usually get from perfumes with dominant lotus note,I'm happy that there's no lotus as I can get along with water lily.it's strange that there's no citrus note listed here.it's all sbout light and clean clean flowers(mostly neroli and waterlily),a citrus freshness and a hint of soapy musk.it's simple and I'm sure that I have tried lots of similar perfumes, actually there's an Oriflame perfume which also comes in an eye catching bottle(that one also has a pump automizer)and has green juice,it has a lot on common with Dolce but is a bit less generic and more memorable and is way cheaper.but to be fair I have to say that Dolce is nice,an easy to wear and refreshing spring/summer day perfume.not long lasting and has a soft to moderate sillage but some people like light perfumes.it's my friend's new signature and her other loves are:Versace Versance and Marc Javobs Daisy.I bet that my sister in law would adore it too but Dolce Garden is more my type

Edit:I like it's drydown more, when tart and juicy bitterorange-like citruses fade away and I'm left with a soft and pretty, slightly soapy yet classy floral scent

Dolce smells like flowers in the summer rain. It has strong aquatic smell.

debush

One of my favourite summer fragrances, green & lively

Allegra

This fragrance just does it for me, period. The bottle (in its elegant simplicity) oozes sophistication and character, alluring me to get my hands on it. It's gentle, feminine and fresh to wear, suitable for any occasion both formal and informal. Classy yet lovely.

Freckleface

For me, this smells like a white wedding!

PricklyAndHot

Catchy green fragrance. Maybe it's papaya flower and neroli.

annamaria_

This is my absolute favourite. It's been my signature fragrance since it came out in 2014, and I have never been tired of it. It smells fresh but sweet, aquatic and musky, warm but crisp. It doesn't smell like shampoo at all, like someone said. Also I haven't smelled anything similar to it, so it's safe to say it's an original fragrance (even though I've met quite a few women who also wore it). It's gets me so many compliments! It has a great longevity on my skin, it lasts all day and my coat smells like it weeks after I've worn it. I usually don't like perfumes which don't have citruses in them, but Dolce is an exception (maybe the neroli leaves give it some citrusy freshness even if there's no fruit). For the rest, I'm a huge fan of white florals. I would totally say this is a safe choice for a gift, it is quite inoffensive and ageless. Overall, it's a likable, fresh fragrance. Absolutely in love.

sibaraa

I got this a few days ago. A very summery, work-friendly fragrance. I get a lot of pear nuance in this, and some aquatic feel. Very fresh, nothing spectacular, i don't smell any neroli in it though. Smells a lot better in the strip.

The.notorious.n.a.p.p.e.r

The sexiest 'floral aquatic' I own. It's not as generic as people state - its complex and intoxicating. X

AHeartLikeMine

A nondescript sweet shampooey scent to me. Safe for the office, but completely uninspired and unoriginal. If you've spent time in the shampoo isle sniffing bottles, then you've smelled this before.

Cathped

Very weak on me. Fresh first but then nothing and musk. I can only detect a musky drydown.

meg0825

This is very nice. A fresh, citrusy, and musky green floral. I wish the sillage and longevity was better, but other than that it's a keeper!

baerro

Gave the sample away as soon as I could, because it turned *completely sour* on my skin. I have no idea what happened, but it was like a bouquet of flowers straight up died on me and started fermenting. Looking through the notes to see what could've clashed with my pH so terribly, papaya flower is the only one that I haven't had prior experience with, so I wonder if that's the culprit. In that case, I need to stay away from fragrances with papaya flower in them.

AgnesK

not long lasting in my skin
very disappointed with this one.
First spray fresh and light but
too soapy in my skin in the end.

Mbrock

It smells pretty but after about 10 minutes you cant smell it. There are fresh, clean, pretty scents that have good longevity & sillage. This perfume just isnt made well. Very sad.

amberbella

I’m so sad. Initial spray was beautiful but about 3 minutes in all I could smell was a sort of gasoline thing. Going to try clothing only staying to see if it works better off my skin.

missvermont

The initial scent was very pleasant; floral and inoffensive. Nothing unique, however.

On me, the longevity was very poor. Couldn't smell the fragrance at all after less than two hours.

laetitiasadler

I love it so much, sad thing it doesn't last very long...

meow78

This is way too soapy on me, then too musky. The fresh part lasted about 2 minutes for me, then turned into a fancy soap smell, like those French-milled, seashell-shaped guest/hotel soaps. But with a mouthful of powdery cotton. I like some white florals, and some powdery musks. When I wear Dolce Garden, I want to lick it off, it’s so good. This isn’t a scrubber (though bad longevity would be fine by me). I’m just disappointed after Dolce Garden.

ETA: I also am not getting sweet or aquatic on my skin :(

drugstore classics

FYI:

If you yearn for Dolce but have a lean wallet, there are options. Walmart is currently carrying a quite decent dupe of Dolce - and it's also available on Belcamshop's website. Belcam's other dupes are well worth checking out also. Good quality in their own right. :D

winikrose

It’s been fun reading the reviews for Dolce. One reviewer called it “a mom perfume in a mom bottle”. I don’t think they meant it as an endorsement lol! But my kids would agree. My mother wore Le Air Du Temps. The bottle with the doves sat on her vanity and my love of perfume is influenced by that ‘mom-to-me’ scent. Gentle cheery lovely Dolce I love that my kids will likely remember It along with the line-sisters in their flower caps on my vanity. (Except Garden. After a couple hours that coconut does me in) I have several favorites but what out of my collection am I most likely to have on? Dolce

Edit: I am surprised to see so many people compliment Dolce’s longevity. It goes to show how different people’s chemistry is I guess because I have to use my expensive! Dolce like a body spray and re-up at 5. I don’t mind because I love this cashmere heaven scent so much

Barbarella1902

Dolce is one of the best summer fragrance in my opinion. It is a sweet, floral, sunny and happy fragrance, longevity is very very good (+ 10 hours on my skin), Sillage is good too.
It is fruity/floral sweet perfect for spring and summer,
Love it!!!!

Belleblue

I adore this fragrance, its pretty.. not edgy or heavy or too sweet, just really pretty ..and I like that...I would rather smell like flowers then a cookie but to each their own! I am happy to say that on me, it lasts a good 8 hrs if not more, lingering on the skin, I have a large collection of fragrance and find myself reaching for this often. Its floral but not intense, lightly warm, soft and lingering....as with all fragrance it should be tried to see how it develops on your skin ...I will be buying the biggest bottle I can find when I use my current one up!

nordhaul

I agree this is safe, boring, and utterly conventional
but oddly enough didn't put me to sleep w/boredom

Dolce is a mild, fresh, bit aquatic floral. Somehow it is like a pale shadow of Eden. While Eden is a jungle, Dolce is a view to a garden from behind a window. Arden Beauty also comes to mind, but that one has way more life and greenness. This is very peaceful, minimalistic, simple, and not very strong. Good for a quiet, meditative spring day in a Japanese garden, unless you want to honor the garden with something of more character.

Brynn Penelope Harrell

Love the smell of waterlilies, amaryllises, neroli flowers and papaya flowers! Great combination!

zvrkic

Dolce is really beautiful scent, smells amazing but I can't smell it after an hour althought my friend says it is still there. It is pretty gentle, such a shame. What suprised me is that I never received compliment when I was wearing it.

Daisy143

Pretty white flowers and cashmeran.... In offensive and overdone,This equals forgettable. Nice scent. but forgettable.

gingervixen

This perfume wants to be J'Adore by Dior.

It's almost as if this is J'Adore's knock-off. Seriously, I love Dolce & Gabbana as a brand, but some of their perfumes are anything but original. "Dolce"is basically a try-hard, wannabe version of J'Adore.

But if you want something that has a better projection, and lasts longer, buy J'Adore. Don't waste your time with this one.

kristen0129

Dolce is very beautiful fresh floral scent. I think it's one of the best D&G perfumes. Dolce smells like bouquet of spring flowers: tulips, narcissus, lily of the valley etc. I know, notes are given different, but that is how I feel the fragrance.
Perfume is translucent, aquatic, therefore perfect for spring and summer. But I can't wear it because the floral notes are very high pitched like in J'adore. Both perfumes cause me terrible headache. Occasionally I adore it on other people, but I can't have it on me all day.

placid

Inoffensive scent, but boring. Its just flowers and water.

Lkrautter

This is a lovely fragrance but I have other fragrances of this type I like to wear. I'm not getting much use out of my bottle. I have a 90% full, full size bottle for swap if anyone wants it. I was thinking of just keeping it cause it's so pretty but that's not a good enough reason.

kate23

Cheap citrus dishwasing liquid.... dissapointment

lulami

Well this one stole my heart back in 2014 when it was released. I was in my senior highschool years and new to the world of fragrance. One day, as I was talking to my classmate before the lesson started I noticed this very beautiful floral-green fragrance on her. It immediately cought my attention and I couldn't help myself but ask her what perfume she was wearing. She answered that was Dolce, the new perfume released by the house, that it was a gift from her boyfriend and that it was the absolute perfume that she loved. I fell in love with that scent too. Even though on her it smelled rather acidic and sour and harsh I didn't give up and decided to test it to the store. Fortunately some days later another classmate of mine that had been gifted the same perfume by her boyfriend brought for me the bottle to school so I could smell the perfume. It was a fantastic experience, on me the perfume morphed into a sweet green fresh perfume that smelled indeed like a Mediterranean Italian garden on the very first morning of summer months, during the dawn when the grass is still wet from the dew of the night. I love it because it's quite balanced between the sweetness and the sour side.
I guess I don't like sweet perfumes anymore as much as I did before and Dolce could be a good transition perfume that still satisfies my sweet tooth without renouncing from the freshness and cool, breezy feeling this fragrance gives to me.
The bottle itself is cute but the perfume cap and the black bow are well-thought details that offer a hint of elegance and delicacy to the design alongside with the light green juice that evokes nature at its best.

dglightblue

Nice first spritz but evaporates into a generic nothingness.

andreazvon

A beautiful scent for spring/summer. Very fresh and floral with a green vibe to it. Soft and inoffensive!

biki

I guess I am among the very few who do not find this fragrance aquatic. I love the citrussy burst at start especially when the weather isn't too hot because then I can feel more of the other elements as well. Then it becomes sweet. It's wearable for sure and lasts on me.

twinmalaysia

It's a fantastic after-shower fragrance. Trust me - just give it a chance if you don't like it otherwise. It lifts you up and brightens your mind. On my skin I get alot of narcissus and musk, and it's very warm and a little sweet but at the same time airy and fresh. Although being incredibly airy, this is not suitable for office. It's too playful for that and can also give you a slight reckless vibe. But oh dear how refreshing it is during the hot weathers - perfect for summer time!

On my skin this fragrance sillage is very heavy. And it's almost a little too much. I think narcissus and musk combination does that. But it can be excellent if you want to make guys daydream about you. It's seductive, but not in a dirty way - this will make him fall in love rather than lust after you.

I also picture a brunette sweetheart wearing this in a pretty flowy dress. She's very joyous and bright. And she loves dancing, going to picnics and dreaming about future. She's the kind of girl who is always positive and never thinks badly about anyone.

Edit: I thought I should give you some backstory. I love sweet caramel-vanilla and woodsy perfumes, they warm up and project so incredibly well on my skin. So if you generally love these types of perfumes on your skin, you should definitely try this one. And definitely try it on the skin and not just on the paper, because I didn't like it on the paper at all. But it is totally different on the skin.

mermaidylady

I have a tester of this and find it pleasant, but nothing exciting or groundbreaking. It's a springtime scent, floral and green and aquatic. I think it's a safe choice - crowd-pleasing - but a scent I would get bored with quickly so therefore would not consider purchasing a full-size bottle.

Mirabele

this opened very green, light and summery and for a moment i thought what a nice fresh summer scent. later it developed into aquatic scent, the scent that i smelled so many times three decades ago on so many people on warm summer months, when these people oversprayed this type of scents, assuming they were refreshing and innofensive.

VioletNoir

its really funny how women who have smelled too many perfumes start to think they all smell the same. just started becoming reallly obsessed with trying perfume i have tried a lot and bought a lot no two perfumes smell exactly the same to me. they all have a different scent and some of these perfumes i have were reviewed here on fragrantica with people saying this smells like everything else. Lol seriously? if it was really truly like that i dont think these perfumes would be selling so much...there is always a slight difference if you take the time to experience the fragrance.im so happy i havent become jaded when it comes to perfumes so i have a fresh perspective! anyways..i love Dolce! ! i dont LOVE everything but this is a VERY nice aquatic floral. It isnt generic or boring to me. It just smells GOOD, and clean and fresh. what more could a girl (or boy) want?

nutmeg1984

this is a very aquatic yet sweet fragrance. I requested it through Scentbird but ended up being somewhat underwhelmed, it also gave me a headache which is weird for such a watery light scent. I passed it along to my co-worker. If you're into season-casting perfumes (I am not) this is definitely a spring scent, the bottle (which is beautiful!) speaks for that IMO. Btw, it didn't smell sweet on my co-worker at all, more green than anything.

Edit: I guess I wasn't that underwhelmed by this scent because it keeps crossing my mind! Maybe this summer I'll be more in the mood for this (I know, I know, I said I wasn't one for season-casting perfumes, BUT when it's warmer this might call to me, right now I'm into sweeter scents). I just might have to put this back on my want list...

Wednesday3

So it's floral, aquatic, and a bit sweet when first sprayed. Spring appropriate. At dry down, it turns spicy but clean.. i dont think im fully commited. It's an edp, however, it only lasts an hour sometimes half and sits real close to skin. I had this perfume at a "like" but now ive removed it and left it at that. no "dislike", no "love" either. As for now, i will finish the rest of my sample and casually enjoy the last bit of it, will not be buying a bottle in the future. My gut tells me to spray on more humid days.

PinkRainbow

This is really pretty! Flowery and musky, with a underlying spicy note. Distinctive.

beatrix75

I love dolce I love all dolce gabbana fragrances they are made in a very beautiful way flowers and fresh sweet orange juice and zest ohhh beautiful and inoffensive!!!!

dglightblue

Aquatic fresh floral, when sprayed it had something the untold edp by e. Arden has, like a warm pleasant sweat but not sweat, not nasty, I cant name it. Is it yellow flowers?? It goes away after the first spritz or two. I would have to douse myself in this one it's so light. I may have an EDT tester I'm not sure.
It's pleasant and I don't think it will get on anyone's nerves.
You can't always have loud screamers in you arsenal.

chemical_x

Boring but inoffensive. I got this as a Christmas gift and wore it occasionally because I don't have many fragrances to choose from. There was nothing exceptional or note-worthy about this perfume, and I have a strong disdain for it. If you know any plain girls with no personality-- this is the perfume for them. The only other purpose is a job interview, but I honestly think that a basic body wash/lotion combo would be better in that case.

LadyIva

I don't understand why these big designer houses such as D&G bother launching new fragrances that don't bring anything new to the table. I mean, there's nothing wrong with Dolce, except that it's been done so many times before. Some white flowers, a bit of musk, and there you go. It's perfectly nice, pleasant, feminine, inoffensive... in other words, completely unremarkable. WIth so many fantastic fragrances to choose from, I don't know how anyone could be attracted to such a bland scent.

Contessa01

This is a light fresh floral that isn't groundbreaking and won't offend anyone. It's pleasant and lovely and a nice pleasing scent I feel I can wear anywhere.

ZBear

I bought the gift set of this a few years ago when it was released, and have never really used it. Pretty white floral with a bit of musky sweetness. As others have mentioned, nothing groundbreaking, but quite pleasant. I like Dolce better than any of the current D&G offerings. My only complaint is the lasting power. I smell it for an hour at best, and then poof--it is gone.

cloz75

I really don't get the hate this fragrance gets. On my skin, the musk comes out and it gives the scent a nice depth, kind of makes it more mature. I find that the scent compliments my spontaneous, bubbly personnality rather than overshadows it. On me, heavier scents are just too over the top. This one balances my energy, gives me some space -- not loud, not heavy, but isn't too girly girly either. This fragrance suggests more than it reveals, I think it's flirty in that kind of way. You just want to discover who's underneath the smell. The simplicity of it just intricates me.

I think it would be a great perfume for the girls who, like me, doesn't like young, sweet fragrances like Britney Spears, Lacoste, Paris Hilton -- but still want to be feminine. This is more of a grownup scent, without being too old or severe. It is a fresh and aquatic scent that is, IMO, well balanced with flirty florals.

It is true that this perfume is not spectacularly unique, but if you are looking for an everyday scent that is fresh, aquatic, feminine (but not immature), and allows your personnality to shine fresh and bright, this is for you!

Edemay

I actually find this fragrance sexy for some reason.
Its sweet on me, not much citrus but lots of water lily and sweet musk.
Its fresh and clean, but different to the usual fresh/clean/florals.
I really enjoy wearing it on warm days, the sillage and longevity is great on me too.

dyaver

Aquatic? Fresh? Hmm... not on me. It's kind of heavy, bittersweet floral scent. The scent doesn't develop or change too much, it just keeps fading away hour after hour.

slavka.filipova

Fresh, everyday scent for me. I like it a lot for summer too.

I finally purchased this fragrance, as I am a fan of D&G scents; love Light Blue and La Lune. Unlike some posters, I found it quite long lasting, for example I applied this morning before going out, and still late into the evening the scent lingers. I find the floral notes lovely, and the dry down to be a subtle musk. I find the fragrance very fresh and it should be noted, a little goes a long way....

homesweethustle~

I wasn't expecting to like this. I'm not a fan of very sweet scents; considering the name "Dolce" and the tepid reviews, I thought I'd probably end up tossing the sample. However, the notes list hits all of my warm weather comfy-sexy buttons: soft fruit, orange blossom, white florals and that delicious masc-of-center aquatic/musky drydown. I even like the bottle; that ridiculous rose cap gives it all the kitsch factor of a Marc Jacobs without looking like it was designed for children.

Frankly I don't understand the negative reviews. Sure, it's not exactly groundbreaking, but it's pretty, easy to wear, and I find the drydown slyly gender-bending, especially for a department store frag. If I ever find a near-dupe that's maybe 25% less sweet at the opening, I'd buy it on the spot. I'll certainly enjoy the rest of my sample.

jinjun

It's one of those 'fresh' scents with extremely generic musky-powdery drydown. Ugh. Nice bottle though.

Akilii

It is just perfect! Fresh, clean and soft, it truly is the representation of a perfect lady! On my skin, it even works in the winter, where it transforms into this harmonic smell that just makes me feel so good. It is not loud, it is not excentric, it is just perfect.
Video for this fragrance is just beautiful too!

andabri

Sort of smells like a nondescript watery/rainy white floral with a crisp edge of greenery. Leans a little "generically perfume-y" but not so bad that I dislike it. Unfortunately I keep getting whiffs of plastic bottle (I know oddly specific) every so often whenever I wear this, so it's a pass for me.

safa2tak_94

I LOVE IT!
long lasting somehow
beautiful smell
I can't recognize the notes, but yes it's floral and citrus

UncommonTart

I quite like this one. It starts out very cool and fresh- wet flowers and citrus- and dries down to very soft floral musk with just a hint of citrus. It's light and inoffensive, which I realize might sound like a terrible put down but I really don't mean it that way- just that I think it'd be hard to truly actively dislike it. If you like big, assertive fragrances you may not care for this one. (Or maybe you will- I do enjoy them in cooler weather, but not in the summertime). It's very light, with extremely low sillage and low to moderate wear time. I find that I get about three hours from it but it lingers very close to my skin. I completely understand where any of these things might be deal breakers for some, but in a steamy subtropical summer when the average daily temperature is somewhere around 90°F and the humidity hovers around 80% I really enjoy wearing something this fresh and light.

I do wish that it had a bit more staying power, but even as it is I liked it enough after sampling it to buy a 30ml bottle and if I manage to use this one up I can easily see myself buying more.

And finally, it may well be immaterial to many, but I do want to mention how much I love the bottle. It just looks very clean and unfussily pretty- not over or under done at all. Of course it's not as if I'd buy any fragrance for the packaging alone-- I do care more about the juice than the bottle, and some of my favorites are in rather dull packaging-- but I definitely appreciate when the fragrance and its bottle fit so harmoniously as this one seems to me to.

Summer.ladon.smith

Really wanted to like this one, the bottle is lovely. But the parfum is quite simple, boring, no staying power is existent and sadly dose not seem to compliment my body chemistry. I had the same results from floral drops & the rose one.

Addict2Perfume

Dolce by Dolce & Gabbana smells like a fresh, aquatic skin musk. Clean and floral, very easy to wear – yet, not long lasting at all. I must say that this is one of the few fragrances that I have smelled that has a dominant water lily note. It is a very light floral with a crisp freshness to it and blends wonderfully with the papaya flow and neroli. I like this fragrance for what it is, an everyday fresh scent! I can spritz it on without much thought and go about my day either re-applying it in a few hours or even being able to switch to a new scent. Although Dolce & Gabbana’s creativity and diversity among their scents has taken a nose dive, the bottle is still beautiful.

VioletNoir

i love Dolce....i got it as a sample from Scent bird....im so glad i did and plan on buying a full bottle...i think its a perfect fresh out the shower aquatic scent....lovely....floral but not like an old lady...it reminds .....me a little bit of Tommy girl...its not just like Tommy girl but its clean and floral and fresh just like Tommy Girl

daisyvision

Sweet and sophisticated fresh floral - without being 'old' or dated. Watery, airy qualities - without losing potency. And that's where its strength lies. It has pretty decent lasting power for being such a light and aquatic scent. There's nothing necessarily unique about this - I'm not sure I could pick it out in a lineup of similar fragrances, but it is nice.

meow_83

I found Dolce to be a nice but unremarkable floral. It's a bouquet of flowers on top of cashmere. The florals are subdued - not overly sweet or green. Dolce's muted green liquid perfectly represents the cool florals it carries. The biggest problem for me was that my skin ate everything but a hint of the cashmere within an hour. Dolce will add its subtle fragrance to any daytime occasion, as long as it lasts longer on your skin than mine.

gillbert

after two hours, this perfume is 70% close to J'adore EDT. as usual, Dolce is a typical floral perfume created by D&G. From top to bottom is flowery vibe. longevity and sillage are moderate even it was an EDP concentration. the good news is - if you're looking the flowery vibe from D&G line, so this one is easy to wear. it's not the best flowery vibe from D&G but it was really unoffensive and pleasant to sniff.

Dellow

I bought this after trying it out in a store, i fell in love with it right away. Im one to love fresh scents, my favorites scents has always been fresh ( D&G light blue, davidoff coolwater, lanvin eclat d'arpege) so i thought this would be perfect. Its very citrusy on me, i dont get the musk at all. As much as i loove this perfume it just gives me a headache. It's too strong for me. Maybe i should have bought the lighter version, but other than that it's a great scent in my opinion, just too bad i cant wear it myself.

Madrona

Very likeable floral, this. Likeable in a fabric softener way. In fact, I am positive my mom used to wash our clothes with a fabric softener that smelled more or less identical to this when I was a kid. Huh.

Percoon

Beautiful flowery spring scent, nothing too special, but I always enjoy wearing it during early Spring time, as it reminds me of sunshine, narcisses and daffodils. Too flovery scents usually do not match my skin perfectly, however this one is fine but not perfect. The bottle is really a masterpiece, longetivity is really good on me up to 8 hours.

karen.fiallos

Spring is in the air! There is something about Dolce that makes it attractive and smells so nice. My bf complimented it a few times when I wore it, it is a delicate every day fragrance, with something floral but green as well. The bottle is so beautiful it looks perfect on anyone's cabinet... It's such a friendly fragance it can be worn for all occasions, cocktails, office, spray it after your work out. I wouldn't wear it to an evening gala though... it's too daylight for that. It is a spring/summer fragance.

BiancaDrumea

I got one of those mini-bottle deluxe samples for my points at Sephora and I tryed it right away when I got home. First 1 hour or so smells almost identical to DKNY Be Delicious on myself except when it gets a bit more soapy while Be Delicious stays sweet and juicy. It lasts about 3 hours maximum and has almost no projection. Sorry, Dolce, not my cup of tea! Save your money and buy Be Delicious. It performs and smells better!

arefuthescroob

It's alright, but nothing special about it.

laurakaye

This is a perfectly lovely, light, safe and fresh scent, great for springtime. The only problem is that it doesn't really stand out as a must-have, and although my perfume collection is not large, I already have several scents that I could classify in the same way (Bright Crystal, 5th Avenue, and Daisy Dream are some that come to mind). Maybe this is a sign that I am learning to appreciate what not only smells good, but has a different component than what I already own.

It's very nice, but not necessarily outstanding.

OTA Mom

Floral blended with white woods. Light and pleasant, but no 'green' element as the color would suggest. A daytime fragrance.
