Dolce Peony by Dolce&Gabbana is a Floral Fruity Gourmand fragrance for women. Dolce Peony was launched in 2019. The nose behind this fragrance is Christophe Raynaud. Top notes are Pear, Cyclamen, Bergamot and Pink Pepper; middle notes are Peony, Freesia and Bulgarian Rose; base notes are Mirabelle, Honey, Ambroxan and Patchouli.

The fifth fragrance of the Dolce line puts the peony flower on a pedestal, as a symbol of positive energy. The composition is nostalgic and feminine, abounding with freshness, juicy fruitiness, rich florals and the softness of honey. In the opening of  Dolce Peony, there are shiny notes of bergamot and nashi pear, sprinkled with pink pepper. The heart develops a flower bouquet of peonies, decorated with freesia flowers and Bulgarian roses, and followed by delicate warm aromas of yellow Mirabelle plum nectar, woodsy notes of patchouli, honey and amber that sweeten the finish.

Top notes: bergamot, nashi pear, pink pepper
Heart notes: peony, freesia, Bulgarian rose
Base notes: yellow plum nectar, honey, patchouli, amber

The fragrance is available as a 30, 50 and 75ml Eau de Parfum.

Hands down the best in the line , the perfect mix of fruits and florals .. yummy juicy pear with a tinge of bergamot and soon peonies and freesia joins the olfactory party creating a a scent most suited to positive happy fun girly girls. It still preserve its freshness and yumminess (mostly citrusy) in the drydown thanks to mirabell and honey , patchouli touch maintains some depth and perfumey quality to the fruity floral juice ..
Bottle is soo pretty and feminine it matches the spirit of this perfume
I see myself buying extra back ups i dont wanna be without this perfume 🩵

Lykopa

A gorgeous floral fun time with a fun fruity opening. This reminds me if the game Pikmin had a smell. Dewy, playful, and an easy everyday wear.

Deliza1997

Very piercing sharp opening but dries down very nicely and gives a soft earthy floral notes. Lasts very long with a moderate projection. Don't get any honey or any kind of sweetness. LOL I am not an expert that's why I always use these vague terms.

missingbonnet

Fresh floral with a dash of pear, not offensive to the nostrils.

candieslove

This perfume is a fresh feminine scent. It's not a complex fragrance, this is just like a typical floral-fresh perfume which isn't a bad thing in my opinion because i'm a fan of florals. It is good for everyday use.

lmnsvgz

The initial spray is adorable. Spring in a bottle, fresh flowers, slightly sweet. The drydown is just a light typical deisgner floral scent. NOTHING interesting.

Carre K

Delicate, feminine and a hint of gourmand, which makes this a perfect floral for a gourmand girl like myself. I love it and I don’t even care that it isn’t a heavy hitter, I smell like a god damn Disney princess wearing this.💕💜 Christophe Raynaud would have to be my favourite perfumer.

Vadangyal

Wow.
I thought I would at least like it due to the pear and honey but all I smell is flowers, and not the ones I like.
It does smell a little fruity (if what I smell is pear then its a veeery synthetic pear) but it reminds me of a cheap bodyspray/showegel scent.
I guess ill just stick to Jasmin scents because I dont like this type of flower scent at all.
I might give it to my 17 year old sister but I think she won't like it either.
Also reminds me of a Guess scent my mother bought me 10 years ago which indeed, I also didn't like.
Longivity is maybe 2-3 hours, sillage is arms length.
Would rate it a 3/10.

Update: I tried one more tme after writing this review and after 15 minutes I have a headache.

ykarnavusha

I'm in love with Lanvin's Modern Princess, but I wanted to find something with better longevity. I'd say Peony's silage and longevity are also disappointing though the price is much higher :(

Jajally

It’s a cute scent. Like it has potential to be that lovely fruity floral everyone loves. But the sillage and projecton are BAD. Stays on my skin like 3 hrs max with no one smell it including me myself. I have to push my nose really close just to find out that its still there. Not gonna but a full bottle

Meris

This reminds me of the 'Seventeen' range of body splashes every girl in my high school dorm had. Precisely the green range. Exact same scent. Save your coins

Sonyakaroliinaq

I really don't know what i was thinking when i bought this perfume. That day i smelled so many different scents, so maybe i got frustrated and just ended up picking this.
I mean it's not that bad, but there is something screechy that puts me off idk. If i was in high school this could be ok everyday scent 🤷🏻♀️

EDIT: I gave this to my cousin, this scent was just making me feel sick

eau de cocoa butter

Save your coin sis (unless you like to purchase perfumes for the sake of having a cute bottle). I am so confused about Dolce Peony. Dolce Garden is dear to me and I spray that one excessively so I expected something similar. I was let down. Dolce Peony is very sharp upon first spray! It’s so sharp, I can’t catch any notes because I have to withdraw my nose from the scent cloud. The sharpness fades quickly and so does the rest of the fragrance - it completely disappeared. I sprayed it on the box and the dry down hours later was a cacophony of notes. It’s really hard to describe and really isn’t worth the money unless you have skin that this sticks too.

Addict2Perfume

Dolce Peony Dolce&Gabbana is way sweeter than I wanted it to be. High school girls, this one is for you my dears! That Mirabelle, honey-soaked-apple-sugar-fest leaves the peony with no hope of coming through. I was seeking a fresh floral and this is not that at all, I can’t even detect some of the other notes and there is not much a dry down difference for me. D&G really went cheap on this section of their fragrance line, none of the floral topped bottles have been a like for me. Bummer.

Florind

Overall it's OK, while there's something nauseating.
Top - purple jam, sweet, sweaty
Middle - This Peony is not flower but peony shaped violet plastic, just like the lid. It smells like I sweat all day after wearing body spray.
Base - somewhere between boyish and masculine
Actually it's of no use to tell 3 stages, for the longevity is no more than 2 hours. Sillage is ok.

gracyshamurailatpam

Very disappointed with this. Smells like a cheap body powder/ body spray- secret temptation romance (the violet bottle) , Spinz pink one , all available easily at cheap price in India to be exact. I dont find any similarity to Versace’s bright crystal. Not unique at all. If you bought for the peonies and pear like I did, no I don’t get any.

M429g931

At first I couldn’t put my finger on it but it smelt so familiar! Then I realized this is Versace bright crystal on the heart and the middle. Because of the honey dry down it does tend to be a little more sweet. It’s basically peony, honey, and I barely get some patch in the dry down. Beautiful Fragrance however I’ve already gone through two bottles of BC, but who knows - this would be a fantastic out of the shower scent. It is beautiful, I’ll have to keep thinking on this one.

Eau de Hanneli

I love peonies, they were my wedding flower, so I got a sample of this fragrance to try. It’s not a complex take on peony, but rather a fresh one! It’s joyful and sweet, light in constitution. I was enjoying trying it out for fun, but then my husband told me I smell great and asked me what I was wearing.. I wear perfume every day and though my collection is ever expanding, it’s not often my husband takes note or compliments what I am wearing. So, I decided that I will buy a bottle to enjoy!

Update: I have received my bottle, I just wish it lasted longer.. I can see myself going through this very quickly! Got it for a great price though, so not too concerned. Will try spraying my hair and clothing to make it last longer.

Neckromancer

This smells like sweet tarts, which I love. Horrible performance tough. Literally less than 30 minutes. Maybe less than 20. It's weird because Dolce Garden is super strong and long lasting.
This is similar to other peony scents like Burberry Blush, but with ambroxan. I get no rose or honey notes. No patchouli or pepper either.

scissorhandedly

The longevity is just poor. Sillage is good enough for me (prefer lighter), but some people will find it too weak. I rarely finish my bottles, but I went through 1 oz of this like nothing.

I used to be really into this one. It smelled youthful, juicy and flirty - it still does, but I'm mostly over it. Once your nose "figures out" a fragrance, the notes you didn't pay attention to before will start coming through differently. In my experience with Dolce Peony, this happened in a bad way. The mirabelle and pear now seem a bit too sweet, the florals borderline obnoxious. And it didn't even need good sillage to get there.

RainbowGirl

I really enjoy this fragrance. I love Versace Bright Crystal & Bright Crystal Absolu, so I thought a perfume named "Peony" would be a simular scent, but it is not. But that is not a bad thing. It's a unique take on peony, and if the projection and lasting power was a little stronger, it would be one of my favorites.

When I first got this perfume, I was delighted by the bottle. Purple, with the classy black bow, and purple flower cap. Delightful. But when I sprayed this on a card, I could only smell a super light pear, that faded from the card super quickly. So then my delight turned to disappointment, and I put the bottle away in a box to be forgotten. I only tried it on my skin this morning, over a month later, and I am really glad I did!

The notes I get on my skin are pear, peony, mirabelle plum, and honey. The pear and peony smell you get at first is very uplifting and pretty, and the dry down is that beautiful plum and honey, which is super comforting.

It lasted about two hours, so not great, but this would be a great uplifting weekend & jeans perfume, that you can spray all over you every two hours, without offending anyone who lives with you. :) It would also be great for work, because it is very inoffensive.

I will enjoy every last drop, and appreciate the beautiful bottle, but I will not repurchase, and I probably wouldn't buy any of the other Dolce perfumes in this range.

dalia-banna

Dolce Peony has a soft smell, fresh floral and very average perfume. Nothing special about it.
It reminds me of Gorgeous from MK. However the sillage is quite short and longevity is absolutely bad, like zero.
Save your money and buy something else, (e.g: Gorgeous! Michael Kors, or Aura Mugler Eau de Parfum Sensuelle Mugler which has super lasting power).
To be decluttered from my collection.

aomhusky

The perfume is so lovely, it makes you feel like you're a soft and gentle person when you use it. Anyway it smells exactly like MODERN PRINCESS by Lanvin with higher price...

Liz-frag

Well pear and peony are often a win, this scent is fresh, cute, and not too complicated not agressive for sure.
I prefer this one compared to dolce Rosa, that, I think, is really plain.
Dolce Peony has a quite short sillage and longevity is reaaaaally bad, like really bad.

Cataddicted

I have tried several of the dolce range scents. This is definitely my favourite when it comes down to smell in general. This is my favourite smelling dolce range scent. I love peony’s and when I smelt this, I bought it immediately, without knowing I’d already smelt it and brought it somewhere else (which is rare for me!) it doesn’t have great sillage, but it is still better than most scents. And, as I will be saying on every dolce range scent review... the bottles are just adorable, they make me smile just looking at them... (and having a purple one on top of the other colours too - as my favourite smelling one? A beautiful bonus)

kbbyk

Soft and fresh scent. Very feminine and not offensive. Something I can wear every day with the peony note. It dries beautifully on my skin. Really like it!

Tuttidrutti

My husband loves this on me. It’s ok, very similar to Lanvin Modern Princess.

LawmaLlama

Scent is a lovely, fresh and fruity floral. Bottle is gorgeous. But, it has a very soft sillage and only about 1-2 hours of longevity. Passing this along to my tween.

LMD

I got a sample of this to try as although I have never bought a full bottle, I have enjoyed most of the Dolce line. This one is lovely. I don't get any pear, for me it's peony and rose with bergamot and the plum. It's really pretty but so transient on my perfume eating skin. Less than an hour after spraying I'm practically having to put my arm up my nose to smell anything. If I could get my hands on this for a cheap price I might still be tempted but wouldn't pay full price as it's so short lived. It has the same kind of vibe as Paul Smith Rose but softer on the citrus. I wish this lasted longer on me as I really like it.
Edit July 2023: not sure if my tastes have changed so much in the last three years or if this perfume has changed, but this is nothing like I remember. I was so excited to see it pop up on scent addict as well. No discernible peony just sticky strong fruitiness that is very loud at first then disappears without trace in under half an hour. There are much nicer, smoother, and frankly cheaper fruity perfumes out there. Don't waste your money on this.

Cmed

I'd chosen to sample this hoping for a powdery addition to the line which I though would fit perfectly. However for me it's a sharp, fresh, short lived opening followed by flower water at the bottom of a vase. Not for me but not horrible.

LenaM

Very feminine, super sweet, crisp, pink/lilac and powdery. If you like the opening, you'll like Dolce Peony all the way. It's completely linear and very juvenile.

It does remind me of Eau So Sexy by Victoria's Secret, although Dolce Peony is much less in your face.

Dolce Peony fits in well with the rest of the Dolce line; youthful florals that have just enough in common to be a family, but not so much that one of them seems abundant.

For the right young girl this could make a great first perfume. I don't, however, suggest a blind buy, as I think this powder-heavy candy-sweet scent will be headache-inducing for quite a few.

floralscents88

fresh soft florals. quite feminine. at first blast, it's a tad juvenile and sweet but once it dries down, it is absolutely stunning. no regrets here. some say its similar to Gucci flora. I disagree, i have both. this is soft and subtle whereas Gucci flora is quite a strong floral scent which can overwhelm some noses.

aussiecolognelover88

I received a sample of this from a friend as she didn’t like it, after wearing it for a day I went and bought a full bottle, I LOVE IT. I actually think it feels really quite versatile, it is very sweet and pretty and girly, so I could definitely see young people wearing it, but it has an elegance and class to it which would appeal to people who aren’t young.

It’s got a beautiful plum note at the top, and through the middle is very flowery, I think it’s just stunning, and the layers are lovely. I’ve seen the longevity be spoken about, and yes it isn’t very strong in longevity and sillage, however, I could still smell it slightly on my clothes the next day.

Price is mid range, for something as nice as this I’d be happy to pay even more. I will enjoy wearing this for a long time to come I think.

TackyAki

Received a sample.. Its opening is pretty sharp lime and pear, and it remains sweet through the entire trip. For me, it's just a bit too much - It's like a fruit gusher.. But that being said it's pretty and pleasant, but I think you really have to like sweet scents to rock this. Something about it really reminds me of Burberry classic, which I initially liked for a sec but I got a headache after a while... Scrubber :(

meg0825

This is so gorgeous! I absolutely love it!
Super fresh, sweet, and woody.
Mixing peony and freesia with syrupy honey and plum along with a little patchouli is a wonderful combination. I find the longevity to be pretty good too. My favorite from the Dolce line, although I haven't tried Shine yet.

soniamksmith

I really did not like .

mikemuscles21

Amazing fragrance. Only for those of you that enjoy Sour Patch Kids Gummi candy.

It actually does smell good. There is something tropical about it too. You might not think you want to smell like a sour gummi candy, but you probably will after this experience. I think it leans more to a younger lady but what do I know. Anyone could wear it.
These days anything goes.

Lolafrola

I fell in love with the first sniff because I’m a sucker for peony, and this perfume is so fresh and girly..

But then it dries down and i can’t smell it anymore! It last for a good half an hour and then it’s gone for good.

And the classic dolce lasts almost 6 hours on me, I don’t know what’s wrong with this one.

So it’s a no from me. Even though it smells so pretty.

DebiL1211

So very disappointed. I love this fragrance. I purchased a mini to sample it and I can say that I love the scent but the longevity is pathetic. On my skin, I am lucky if it will last 2 hours without reapplying. It is a fruity sweet floral scent and I adore it. The pear notes really stand out.

Longevity: two hours at the most

Sillage: not even at arm's length

Recommend: No. As pretty as it is I don't recommend it because you will go thru a bottle really quickly with all the reapplying you will need to do.

Safe blind buy: Yes because even if you don't like it, it will disappear so quickly you will have forgotten you were wearing it.

Full bottle worthy: Nope. Full bottle wouldn't last very long.

ANNAFRYS

I have purchased my creams from Sisley and Burberry Her in Planet Perfume in Brussel.
One of the associate have gave me a sample of this fragrance.

I must admit the violet, little bottle was few days in my bag....
then I was in rush to go for shopping and I said ok let me spray and test it.

WOW

I didn't even know this fragrance is from this year... somehow the bottle looks like the begining of 90's and if I didn't get a sample I would never take it to test it myself in the store.

I love how pretty it is! Flowery and magical... other ingrediens.. make me feel so special...

I dream about a normal size bottle. even thought I don't like the design of it.

Near new Chloe l'eau - and Peony are my top of 2019.

What is mystery to me... this scent is changing my mood. I am happier and I see so much sunny area.. near me... in my opinion its a mood stimulator... but how... Dolce Gabbana made it I have no clue....

Freezia always makes me feel so feminen, there are some woods notes also...The combination of it is really...charming.... I like how girly and funny scent is I smile when I write that review because I miss that scent near me. I cant wait for my paycheck. :-0

SailorV

This shouldn’t be called Dolce Peony, but Dolce Plum. I barely even get peony in this, but the mirabelle plum is the main notes from the opening to the final drydown. There are also some floral notes, but they’re fresh and watery, more freesia and cyclamen than peony. I also get a hint of an unlisted peach. It’s a shampoo-ish, clean scent, the texture is a bit similar to D&G L’Imperatrice in my opinion. But I also understand the comparison to Chloé Nomade: The mirabelle is similarly tart and fresh and the base has some sharpness and warmth from the patchouli and amber (amber is listed on the D&G site instead of the ambroxan on fragrantica). This is lighter and sweeter though, less earthy.
Overall it’s a well-done fruity floral for warmer days, not too sweet, not too sour, with good drydown a thirst-quenching fruity freshness. Not a love or must-have to me, but a strong like.

masako_30

Improving, or better, enhancing the cyclamen note is a difficult task for my skin, and I feel it tangible here or at least my nose tells me this. But pear juice can transform its dismal perfume (my subjective perception) in this yummy, funny elixir.
Pepper makes Dolce Peony thrilling while the peony note is in a hidden corner, for me.
Positively amazed!

kvg5303

After reading the reviews, I was concerned about longevity, but it sounded like it had some longevity for some people so I decided to buy it.

I love the opening of peony, Mirabelle plum, pear, honey, et al, however it only lasts about 90 minutes for me. I'm surprised it's an EDP, frankly.

I sprayed 2 to 3x on each arm, and three times on neck/decolletage about 90 minutes ago or so. After 90 to 120 minutes, Dolce Peony is nearly undetectable or recognizable even as a skin scent. I bought it yesterday thinking it would perform like Floral Drops does. Dolce Peony EDP is nowhere near as long lasting on me as Dolce Floral Drops EDT, which performs quite well for me.

Unfortunately, this will have to be returned asap because the sillage is soft and the duration is so poor for me.

PureC

I tested this today thinking i smelled this before...so i read a few revieuws, and yes, It's the Mirabelle plum from Chloe Nomade. thank u DarlingNikki...

I was not ceen on trying this peony version of dolce (the only peony perfume i know is Acqua di Parma Peony Nobile which is classic) ,this is youthfull. I recieved a sample of this from a co-worker so i tried it. No peony in this one only sweetish mirabelle, that stays about 30min and then fades with some spiced flowery notes in the background. very light-fruity-fresh perfume. I can see this be someone's everyday fragrance.

Astar

This is something else! While the original Dolce didn't impress me in any sense of this word, this flanker is a gorgeous floral firework. It's sweet, but not sickly sweet, tempting, but not straight seductive. Mirabelle is quite an uncommon note in fragrances, and here it definitely rounds up the composition rather organically.

tinabelcher

This one is a bit of a disappointment. A beautiful bottle that I just had to have, being a fan of D&G fragrances, so blind bought it but thankfully didn't pay the retail price. So, so faint. It's pleasant enough but an hour after using it I can't smell a thing. Certainly not worth the retail price tag. A shame since Dolce Garden was the complete opposite

Plumaria

Hard to describe. It is a floral, but not your usual floral. It is sweet but not a gourmand. It is fruity but you can't pinpoint what fruit it is.
All together this is an extremely joyful, floral, juicy, zesty, satisfyingly sweet scent, where everything is blended so well together that you just can't stop sniffing yourself and smile.

It differs from some other fruity floral scents for the fact that it has some substance at the base. You won't necessarily detect the patchouly and the ambroxan but they are there to lock the other notes and give body to the whole, making it wearable in both the cold and the warm weather. To make it last, I spray it on my hair and cloths - on skin it disappears quite fast, but on fiber it is extremely persistent.

I was quite underwhelmed from the first scents of the Dolce series, then I was positively surprised by Dolce Garden, a very nicely done white floral with a remarkable performance in terms of longevity and sillage, but this one now has really stolen my heart.

lmwimsatt

Plum dominates. Much too weak though. Cant smell it over my unscented lotion. This is the only perfumes I've ever smelled that reminds me of lovestruck. They smell very similar and they're both very faint. This also reminds me of another new release called mystical misfit by pinrose

Valy in the sky

Smelled it yesterday and I liked it! It's a fresh floral, good for spring time or if you like light scents... most prominent note is peony, I´m pretty surprised to see that there´s honey too (among my favorite notes) but I´m not really good at picking single notes unless they´re very prominent...anyway I need to retest it properly!

winikrose

The best of the line for longevity. 12 hours in I can smell it and not faintly. The honey is pronounced and nice. A powdery peony is center stage from top notes to base. Any fruity-ness just softly in the background. And the bottle... it’s made my short list

lalinotte

Has a surprising powdery smell. (Maybe it's how the pink pepper interacts with the sweet and citrus notes?) It's sweet from the peony and honey, but it's also tart, and the result is very similar to the smell of Smarties (U.S.) or Sweet Tarts. If not for the powder, I think I would love it, but as it is, it's pretty "meh" for me.

If you've smelled Gucci Flora, it's incredibly similar. I probably couldn't distinguish the two, but again, it's not really my cup of tea.

nadiadncr

Tested it today it's a very beautiful fragrance. You can smell the peony but not in an overly sweet sickly way. It is fresh I smell the bergamot which I love, definitely a summer fragrance. I want to test it again for projection but longevity is excellent. Overall a nice surprise!

DarlingNikki

I just saw screenshots of the racist and patronizing texts that Gabbana allegedly sent without expectation of them being leaked (how?) and good grief! What is wrong with him? He seems to have permanent foot in mouth syndrome! Anyway, aside from that bit of nastiness, I do have cautiously high hopes for this scent, but all in all the D&G line has never really been my thing.

EDIT: I have a sample and suffice it to say, I'm not impressed. This smells strangely 'old' and dated as if it comes from the 1980s or something. I'm smelling the Mirabelle and it reminds me of the Mirabelle in Chloe Nomade. The whole composition sort of reminds me of Chloe Nomade now that I think about it. This isn't as sweet as I thought it would be, either. Rather flat and I'm getting the chemical undertone of the ambroxan, which I don't like either. All in all, this is a weird fragrance that I'm in no way attracted to. Thank goodness for samples!

Forbiddenjade

The original Dolce lacked longevity and sillage was so poor I had to refrain from purchasing it.
I loved it, but wasn't worth the price.

I hope Peony will prove different, looking forward to try it today!!

Olya-la

Just tested it today. It smells exactly like Lanvin Modern princess!

lmwimsatt

This looks like a spring time winner to me! You know how some people are apparently compulsed to vote on prominent notes before the perfume is even released? Well I'm almost compulsed to downvote notes to compensate for the incorrect voting.
