Pleasant and fresh with what to me smells like raspberry but must, in fact, be the plum. It smells nice.

However, it simply doesn’t last at all. An hour at the most.

It may cool you down on a hot day but not much else.

Decarabats

Not bad, decent perfume for casual or office. The citrus and peony is the strongest on my skin right off the bat.

To me this does not stand out in any way. It resembles the smell of Nivea body cream. Not offensive in any way. It does not last at all, just like every other Elizabeth Arden I ever had. 1 hour tops

My first encounter with the original 5th Avenue by Elizabeth Arden was odd. Reading the reviews written elsewhere and following hints, I was fascinated so much that I ordered online some of 5th Avenue collection perfumes, and Only NYC is one of them. In these days, you can award online a 75ml bottle for less than 15 euro, which is merely ridiculous. But let's go back to 5th Avenue Only in New York City. It's a pretty cool fresh and sweet fragrance that offers the floral, fruity and woody amber facets. The flacon design repeats the form of the predecessors. It takes inspiration by 5th avenue; iridescent black and magenta stripes line the sleek glass bottle, complete with a golden stopper, transporting you directly to NYC. Yet, ONLY NYC is not a flanker of 5th Avenue classic. I cannot grasp the inspiration of the original, but it is softer, younger and fresher as if the perfume had been energised.

If 5th Avenue classic is a flowering bomb, ONLY NYC is a fruity weapon, no question about it. This time, the perfumer Ann Gottlieb reflected the surge of energy and hectic pace of New York City into her creation. There are plenty of fruits, and the opening unfolds with a syrupy accord from tart and sweet berries, which mingle with citrus peels of bergamot and soft mandarin. There is a sort of peach vibe and other overripe fruits like apricots. Since the first steps, I can get the honey and plum ready to explode, and they add complexity and depth as the scent moves to its fragrant heart. The blend is powdered with a touch of pink peppercorn that adds the right spiciness stabilising the otherwise too sweetness.

As the intoxicating black fruity blast calms down, a bouquet of white, yellow, and pink flowers blooms. The magnolia is just a background supporter, on par with the rosy wild peony, but the mimosa stands up with its prolific smell. A spoon of honey harmonises with these floral accords for a hypnotic, more sensual bouquet. The heart is not only about flowers, but a juicy plum also adds hints of mildness and mixes well with florals and spices. What I thought was a wild berries note is perhaps plum, that dominates in the early stages along with the mimosa and honey.

The more the heart approaches the dry down, the more the smell is vaguely sweetish, medicinal, like cough syrup. Now I could feel the taste of old dried fruit, burned to sugar. The long-lasting base transmits subtle creamy notes of white amber, which is heavy on the sandalwood and florals, smooth, and blissful, and a powdery accord from the elegant iris root. It smells warm, a little spicy, modern, earthy woods, and sensual amber.

The overall effect is a pleasant, easy-to-wear day time scent for anyone who appreciates a grown-up fruity floral that isn't too sweet. Although it doesn't seem to have prodigious sillage, it's quite long-lasting and undoubtedly sturdy enough for anyone close to you to smell. A perfect office scent, fitting the day and evening out. Elizabeth Arden, or better Ann Gottlieb, seems to keep up and produce ideal quality scents with a variety of unique flavours. I believe their affordable prices are what keeps them from being far more respected. ONLY NYC is fascinating to me; it's creamy and soft, a soothing perfume for sure. Also, a very inoffensive and safe everyday scent, and a pretty safe blind buy.

This review is based upon a 75ml bottle I blindly bought (Batch code L6KA1, Production date 2016-08).

This is a very sweet, uplifting fragrance, it is not unlike Beyonce Pulse NYC, but more refined, honey, florals and fruits. What I thought was a raspberry note is perhaps plum, that dominates in the early stages along with the mimosa and honey, as it dries I get the Amber. Moderate sillage, but excellent longevity.

very boring.

I agree with Heathw619. My first thought was a signature scent also. It's a very easy scent to grab and go and be comfortable in.
This doesn't seem to have huge sillage. But it's quite long lasting and certainly strong enough for anyone close to you to smell. And for that reason, it makes a good signature!
This will last and smell really nice and still be safe where perfumes are frowned upon such as a hospital.
Elizabeth Arden seems to keep up and produce very good quality scents with a variety of flavors that are rather unique. I believe their affordable prices are what keeps them from being far more respected. The bottles could use a little update. But to me, this keeps them affordable and I don't mind at all.
This scent was very interesting to me the first time I wore it. It's creamy and soft, a comfort perfume for sure. A pleasant choice for many women. This won't get you noticed. But when someone notices you, they'll certainly enjoy a close nuzzle with you.

This is a scent that shines really bright: a warm bright shining scent, which makes it's wearer shine as well.

Also a very inoffensive and safe every day scent, and a pretty safe blind buy.

I don't find this particularly sexy or flirty at all. Instead this seems to be made for an independent woman who knows what she wants and is indeed sexy, but doesn't need to scream her sexiness out loud to everyone around her.

Not the kind of scent I would normally wear, since this is a bit too warm scent for my warm skin tone. But since I blind bought a big bottle of this I'm using this every now and then, just for a change.

I can very easily see this being a really gorgeous and shiny scent on someone with a cooler skin tone which does not amplify the warm and salty notes as much as my skin does.

I've just picked up a 75ml bottle for £7.99 from TkMaxx so i'm not complaining. i get citrus & honey throughout the entire wearing of the scent which i'm fine with. it seems to be lasting a good 6+ hours on me so far so for the price point it's great. another EA scent that gets a thumbs up. she cant do wrong in the fragrance world for me.

This is my 1st ever bad review and in all honesty i am sad about having to do this but this fume is awful.. It is totally non descript fruitchouli that starts of as screechy alcohol and dissipates into nothingness in miniutes.

There's no honey, no mimosa, magnolia. Just abit of blackcurrent some spiciness..

But other then that the bottle for this one is gorgeous. Which is a real shame.

dglightblue

A nice fragrance
Doesn't last long at all, an hour?
I got a fresh, clean, multifunctional scent.
I wouldn't buy it as it doesn't last for me, but try it, the other reviews seem to have faired better then i

Quite a beautiful surprise. I just purchased this at Marshalls. It opens with honey, mimosa blossom, amber, magnolia blossom, and warm sandalwood. After a while I noticed peony and orris root. It smells warm, a little spicy, modern, earthy woods, sensual amber, and plums. It's warm and very pretty. Appropriate for the office or a romantic date. Very wearable.

Heathw619

I love this. It's a beautiful mix of floral and citrus. I scored this from marshalls for $15. It's pretty. It's a flirty scent but I think it could be worn day or night. But I don't put a limit on my scents. I wear what I want when I want. But this one is a lovely scent. It could be a signature scent.

PinkRainbow

Lovely balance of florals and spices. Intense with fantastic sillage. A touch of class that seems to say "New York"!

perfumepourfemme

A clean sweet scent. Starts with a burst of citrus for about 10 minutes, then peonies and honey to my nose. It stays close to the skin after about 4-5hrs. I chose it for work and casual use. Received 2 compliments so far and it's only 8.57am. 7/10
