L'Acquarossa by Fendi is a Amber Floral fragrance for women. L'Acquarossa was launched in 2013. L'Acquarossa was created by Delphine Lebeau, Benoist Lapouza and François Demachy. Top notes are Sicilian Mandarin, Calabrian bergamot and Dried Plum; middle notes are Rose, Lantana, Magnolia and Orange Blossom; base notes are Musk, Red Cedar and Patchouli.

The new fragrance by Fendi, L'Acquarossa, arrives on the market in September 2013. Chiara Mastroianni (the daughter of Catherine Deneuve and Marcello Mastroianni) is to be the face of Fendi's new promotional campaign for the L'Acquarossa scent, as seen through the lens of photographer Jean-Baptiste Mondino.

L'ACQUAROSSA perfume is created by Delphine Lebeau, Benoit Lapouza and Francois Demachy, who choose Sicilian mandarin, Calabrian bergamot and a prune accord for the top notes. The heart of the composition blends red-and-gold lantana flowers, rose, orange blossoms and magnolia, while the base notes bring nuances of red cedar, musk and Indonesian patchouli.

The fragrance is presented in a geometric red bottle with gold-colored ornaments engraved with the name of the fragrance and the name of the house Fendi. The stopper is black-colored and lined with golden elements. L'Acquarossa will be available as of 30, 50 and 100 ml EDP, accompanied by perfumed body care products.

I think from the looks of the bottle Id expect something more dramatic than a romantic girly citrus rose with bit of pencil shaving. It reminds me of Yves Rocher rose fragrances.

COLOREDGIRLSHUFFLE

Just picked this up to add to my Fendi 'fume collection and I am not disappointed. I don't get the plum as much as the citrus tartness of the orange and bergamot, but the aquatic lotus heart is divine. Being there is no lotus note, I am guessing it's the lantana? Lantana and rose mix? Because the magnolia and orange blossom notes completely elude me. I have never smelled latana before but, the complex heart does smell like a sweet lotus on top of a pond. It's very hard for me to dislike a musk, patchouli, with a touch of cedar dry down, so I really like this fragrance.

This may be my everyday scent because it is citrus and floral enough not to be offensive to the average person, but still has a complexity that makes it exciting for "old school perfume" lovers.

UPDATE: someone said it reminds them of Burberry scents and yes! There’s this random pencil shaving note in Burberry (Brit especially) that I find in Fendi Furiosa and this one. It doesn’t smell bad per se but under the florals you catch this woody pencil shaving note that depending on the weather and your mood stands out.

This seems unique in a good way compared to other rose frags I have tried so far which also have some fruit notes. And more interesting than more linear rose frags. I was a bit alarmed as the initial spray seemed strong of some floral note unknown to me. Is it the lantana? Not sure but I have enjoyed reading the reviews below and the comments about lantana and the other notes. It's a seemingly a fruity and possibly watery rose with a nicely blended base which is more musk and patch forward than I usually like but it seems to suit the rose and fruit components well. I do get the wood from the cedar also. This is a longer lasting and more complex blend than Illuminare, which is a fruity rose I enjoy.

Fast Fwd 6 hours: I swear my sweater (1 spray from the a.m.) smells mostly of white flowers, magnolia, I think - which is ok, but surprising. My skin still lightly emanating a rosy floral watery scent.

I have some Alaia shower gel and thought this would be a nice layer, plum and rose with more plum and rose. I love it and I think plum fragrances project on my skin. It is a totally different vibe from other fragrances I love. I do think it's sexy in a soft goth kind of way. I feel like it goes well with a certain look - matte make up, dark brows, eyeliner and mascara with a deep plum lip.

Was worried that the first blast seemed far too impregnated with cedar & hairspray for my taste, but that quickly developed into a most intriguing plummy/rose/musk with hints of citrus. I expected it to last quite long, but it faded sooner than I'd hoped. A bit like Fan di Fendi, and something of Play. I like it. Wouldn't be a fave, but it's neither young or old and can be worn anywhere, giving a warm floral close to the skin comforting vibe.

I could see how this scent has it's place in a fragrance wardrobe. I don't feel the bottle really suits the scent because it isn't bold at all to me. It's more like " I just showered an need to run some errands before meeting a girlfriend for tea. " It's smells different without smelling odd. Something about this does reminds me of a Burberry scent that I can't place at the moment. I personally do not find this to be sexy but it could be a signature scent for a lady who wants to just smell slightly better than " pleasant." As far is this being a rose scent I don't get that at all. I live in San Diego and have ton of Latana in my neighborhood and this scent smells like powdery Latana with a burst of the ripe mandarin orange. This may be how this performs on my skin though.

UnearthlyApothecary

I am not the hugest rose fan honestly, I especially hate the really soapy-sharp type that smell like those little rose shaped (and scented) soaps my grandma has always kept in her bathroom. I like fruity roses and gourmand roses, masculine or oriental roses.Smoky roses, leather rose’s. basically any scent where the rose is well tempered and blended into other notes. I have enjoyed a few “fresh” roses as long as they aren’t too sharp or screechy. This one is the “fresh” variety but well blended with citrus and other florals so that while the rose stands out the most, it’s not too overwhelming. I like the more masculine patchouli base. While it may not be the most unique, it’s one of the more wearable and I like it

Recklessssssss

This is the first fragrance I bought back in 2015 maybe.
I had no knowledge whatsoever about fragrances. I was at the counter, asked for something different, and the staff let me smell this. I immediately confirmed this was what I wanted, different, special, complex.

This is feminine, sexy, unique. It's the perfume I wear whenever I want to feel sexy. It contains so much memories for me.

Now I have dug into the fragrance world a lot more, this is not something I'd typically go for. I prefer niche, simplistic, even linear fragrance sometimes. But I still like this one a lot. It will forever hold a special place in my collection and my heart.

I love L'acquarossa Elixir so I thought I'd give this a try. They are so different, I'm not sure what the common bond other than the name is. Upon first spray, I got the citrus with dried plum, lantana, and orange blossom. While I love the smell of the flower lantana, I find it offputting in this. However, before long, a wet rose comes about and mixes with the magnolia, musk, and red cedar. This is okay for me, not a love. I'd sample it (I see many minis available) before buying a bottle. Both sillage and longevity are moderate on me.

Update: After a little research that I should have done earlier, I found that both L'acquarossa and L'acquarossa Elixir contain lantana, considered the prime ingredient in the line. While I didn't like it here, I love L'acquarossa Elixir, so I'm guessing it isn't as prominent to me in Elixir because of the strong cherry opening.

SailorV

A rose with a twist. I agree with many reviewers that this is a little unusual and odd. It took me a while to get into it after I got a little decant as a gift in a swap, but now I like it.

I smell fresh red roses, lemony citrus notes, something peppery, smooth polished woods and patchouli and a lovely creamy note which likely comes from the magnolia and musk. A hint of warming plum is there, too. I don't know why red cedar has a picture of juniper in the pyramid, red cedar is a kind of cypress and this fragrance doesn't smell like juniper at all.
If fragrances had a texture, this would be glossy and sleek.

What makes it odd is a weird, skanky note in the opening. I think it must be the lantana. I have never smelled this flower in real life, but there is a lot of information on the internet that says it has a funky, polarizing scent. I tested this fragrance about 5 times and it's so moody! Sometimes the lantana overwhelms me and smells terrible. Sometimes it's just an interesting little edge in the background. I could never predict it based on weather or anything.

I love everything about this fragrance, except when that one note gets dominant.
And this is the reason why I wouldn't buy L'Acquarossa and would recommend to sample it a few times before deciding on it.

cookygirl

I'm finding this scent interesting, in a good way.
It's definitely a nice departure from most of the cookie-cutter, variations on the same tired theme scents that I've been trying lately.
I'm always a bit wary of rose but I like its iteration in this scent's composition.
I also like that the musk doesn't overshadow the other notes at any stage of the scent's development, as it's unfortunately apt to do on my skin.
There is however an oddness to this scent that other reviewers have noted and that is why I'm not sure yet if I will be seeking out a full bottle. I haven't decided if I love this odd, somewhat rubbery note or whether I can only tolerate it: it's there at first sniff and lasts through all stages of the scent's development.
I finally realized what this note reminds me of - it smells like a wet bathing suit that you peel off of yourself after having spent the day at the pool anointed with sunscreen.
I have no idea which ingredient or combination of ingredients is creating this note, but the scent does contain a number of less common components like the lantana, dried plum and the juniper (red cedar) that is much more common in mens fragrances. Maybe best to test this if possible before buying.

The opening is spicy (harsh) and nondescript, then the florals. On my skin it settles into plum, musk, a hint of floral and something odd that doesn't smell floral. It's an unusual fragrance. I like it for its oddness. I purchased a 30 ml bottle that I'll wear this fall and into the winter.

TabledThoughts

This is the sort of fragrance a woman who works in a high end dept. store wears..and sells Fendi!

Nothing particularly discernible in the composition which is disappointing as the notes held such promise. However, I do grow lantana and can sense it's bitter green brightness here.
It has a light spiciness for sure but I would have liked the rose and patchouli to have shined more.
Really just a fairly unremarkable feminine fragrance.

The Elixir is by far superior with it's rich cherry cordial accord. Would love to get my hands on a bottle of it but it's, alas, discontinued.

Am glad to have the edt as opposed to the edp as parfum would be too strong for my liking. I prefer this type scent be close to the skin rather than entering the room before I do.

The sexy red bottle with gold and black detailing is quite striking.

My perfume since 2013-2020 .. I adore it by all ways. I even got its lipgloss and verni collection and then its deodarant collection. Got both sizes too! I still have 3 unopened bottels. I love it bcz as a makeup artist .. Its smells like expensive makeup to me. This strong woody musky floral and spicy powder fume. NEVER ENOUGH. I advice. Perdect for all times. Its the type of perfume that you can stick to and make it your own signature. Lasts long and yes it leaves a trace. I cannot count how many times ive been stopped and asked about my perfume when iam wearing FENDI L'ACQUAROSSA! Too feminine and sexy. Try passing by a soldier 😜

churinl

Forbiddenjade's review is right on target! I have the travel spray, and will be purchasing the full size ASAP! I really smell the magnolia here, and think that is what comes across as fruity on me. This isn't much of a review and I haven't even gotten to the dry down yet, but so far, I adore it! To be continued!

EDIT 4/13/2020 I now have a full bottle. I am wearing it today and it has lifted my spirits on a rainy, spring day, in the midst of this terrible crisis. Rose is coming through much more today, as well as the plum and a touch of citrus. It's really different from most fragrances in my collection. Projection and longevity are about average - not overwhelming, lasting about 4-5 hours. It provides pretty decent bang for the buck!

Forbiddenjade

This is a fantastic fruwoodyrose EDP!

Lightly juicy, not cloying, just a tad woody to render it warm, reduce the "wetness" that fruit notes can at times evoke.

It is a fine concoction, a reminder of "proper" scent, well balanced, never vulgar, simply a stand-out of the crowd for love of unusual roses.

Love at first spriz! I give it a full 8 also for longevity and sillage (arms length). A classy number to wear everywhere, at any given time of the day and night.

Try to believe, you won't regret it. But don't expect something extraordinary. This is just unique without stretching that far.

sitingqueen

For the EDP: Moderate sillage and longevity. This is no Nahema, but very wearable for social and office wear.
A lovely rose scent which is not sweet and not powdery. The citrus keeps it clean. I usually avoid soliflores and floral predominant fragrances in my 100 degree summers, but this one is very nice and does not wilt into nothingness, nor smell stale at the end of a hot day
The bottle is lovely.
Overall, 7/10. (I am a tough grader!)

gtabasso

a pretty floral that started out light and a little fruity due to plum but then quickly changed into a sweet rose that really is more reminiscent of peony with a depth of musk and cedar; it is strong and a bit sneeze inducing but still has a bit of an aquatic feel to it;

11PHOSPHORUS11

If you watched Suspiria recently then this is how I imagine the main character - Susie would smell like. NOT extraordinary but powerful.

The bottle is also reflecting this with its alarming yet classy red lacquer and rich powerful gold elements.

Inside you'll find flowery and fruity creaminess. It’s simply soft and clean and light but with a violently consuming feminine power.

I blindly bought it and I’m not surprised or disappointed - in a good way it's exactly how it should be.

It’s going to mix beautifully with my ultra masculine scents - so experiment!

Unfortunately it doesn't last for very long.

Classychic

Roses and Juicy Sweet Oranges is what I get from this. It's fresh and the sweetness is more of a sweet fruit than sugarcane. Very classy and rich.

Smh1191

I was searching for a heavier floral for fall and winter and originally was led in the direction of a floriental but i also had something woodsy in mind. I came across this on sale and was a little afraid the plum would make it too heavy but it works well against the pine. It was this or pacificas persian rose. I chose this one and im really happy i did. It is a sweet rose in a pine forest. Its woodsy and sharp but not headache inducing. Its fresh but sweet. Its feminine but not shrill. Its there but not screeching. Exactly what i had in mind. And i can always buy a 10 dollar rollerball of pacifica later anyway. But realistically this is more wearable for me.

After wearing more often this pulls rose and orange and plum now.

ginchuginchu

First spray, it is loud, edgy and alarming.... then the scent settled into uniquely gorgeous rose without losing its edge.

She who wears this want to stands out in a charity gathering, gallery exhibitions or brunch with the girls at hip and hot spots. She wear loud outfit that set her out from her peers, but her attitude is calculatingly mysterious. She has devious mind but she watch what she says. She is uniquely edgy, but not erratic. Definitely not a scent for everyone, but if you wear it right.......<3

demhayerawsah

This was a love at first sniff for me. Back in 2013 when I received my first bottle, I wore this regularly and was in love. The woody rose, the floral notes all did it for me. To be honest it still does. I still have some of that 2013 edition left and whenever I wear it I receive many compliments. Long lasting and great sillage.

Unfortunately I have now (in 2018) tried this on numerous times and the later productions of this perfume smells somewhat synthetic and does not have that great presence.
I am not sure if I am the only one who has experienced this?

Vegas Pauli

Disagree with the hate for this one. I pull up lantanas in my yard several times a year and I love the sharp green smell they give off when cut. But the lantanas in this perfume isn't green, its sweet and fruity, which in concept has been done a millions times. But the candy coated sweetness has a distinctive sharp lantana backbone here and it works. Fresh and sweet, but crisp and modern at the same time; this is definitely a high quality Fendi creation. You can pick this up dirt cheap on line and its worth a blind buy; any woman that likes this kind of scent will enjoy L'Acquarossa. And the bottle is cool. Thumbs up.

fleursdorlane lover

This was a blind buy..not for me..boring perfume with low silage and no longetivity..i can detect ((old)) not fresh roses and a bit citrus. It is a safe perfume for a working woman. Nothing at all special about it. Disappointed.

mila476

I received this as a gift for my 18th birthday, and I wore it to parties in the first year or so of college, but as I accumulated sample vials of other (better) fragrances, my use of this fell by the wayside. Then today I was trying to choose a fragrance for an event, and I was already wearing rose lip balm and I'd used a rosewater facial spray, so I wanted to wear something with a major rose note so as not to clash too much, and L'Acquarossa popped up in my mind (I may have other fragrances with rose notes, but this one certainly has the most dominant one). At first spray, it seemed like a nice fruity floral, but more sophisticated than the fruity florals of my youth (celebrity perfumes--you know the ones). It was nice and floral for a bit, but now, about three and a half hours after application, I'm noticing a weird soapy or mildewy (not sure what it is but it sure isn't pleasant) note in the drydown, and I'm not a fan. It's a shame that this fragrance doesn't work on me, as it's one of only three full-size perfume bottles that I own, and perfume is expensive! Also, it's super frustrating because it was going so well in the head and heart notes, only to be ruined by a bad drydown at the end. This may just be my body chemistry so I do encourage you to test it out on yourself if you were interested in buying it before reading this review, because it's a nice fragrance aside from the rancid finish, and you may not experience said rancid finish if your body chemistry's different from mine.

Cel405

I just picked this up at Marshall's today for 6 bucks. I knew nothing of the way it smelled, but for such a cheap price, I couldn't pass it up. I typically don't like rose scented anything. This however, is definitely an exception. It of course smells like roses, but the plum that's there in the background, really blooms and enhances the scent incredibly for me. The initial scent upon spray is very bright and sweet. After settling on the skin for about 15 minutes or so, I pick up the citrus, and the rose seems to be toned down a bit. The way it smells upon first spray, you would think it would be a very long, and strong lasting scent. To me, it seems to have lasted about 3 to 4 hours or so. It's definitely muted in strength by then, but not so faint where you can't smell it. It's really a beautiful scent. It smells elegant and non-offensive.

kati77

This perfume has rich composition.
Or at least feels like it. The most feel comes from flower kalina and rose. Patchouli is almost gone. Plum, musk, interesting and elegant. I have such associations - beautiful autumn. And that's because I had a sample in October 2013. I would recommend to try it, it is worth it. Colors match the bottle. Durability of about 6-7 hours.

VioletNoir

this isnt normally a perfume i would buy but i ordered a lot of perfumes on ebay and this was apart of a group of perfume ordered. im not a huge fan of rose citrus scents but there is something about this one. its so pleasant its hard not to like it. in my opinion. but i would never buy this on its own.

sashapoppy

I'm usually a fan of bold scents, but this one seems to make a lot of noise without saying much of anything. It screams of roses and plums for a few minutes before subsiding into a mumble of fruity/floral anonymity. It needs something bright-more bergamot maybe, or an aldehyde note. It could be nice if layered with a citrus scent.

StarryNightNo5

Very pretty burst on the instant you spray it!
Found this for a great buy. Perfect for this time of year (although I do like to wear my fragrances any time and all times of the year depending on how my feeling/mood is that day).
At first spray it is an intoxicating fruity burst. It does fade down pretty quickly, but it's perfect because this is a great fragrance to wear to the office, for everyday use.
It's close to the skin, but I do get compliments from co-workers.
It's a comfortable scent and I feel refreshing to the senses. I feel like it's such a classy fragrance!
I haven't had the opportunity to smell all of Fendi's fragrances, but this one for me is a winner.
(the original Fendi will always be my absolute fave though!).
I also love the Fan di Fendi Fraiche (clean green scent).
Fendi L'Aquarossa comes in a great solid, weighty bottle. I do love the red color also.
L'Aquarossa is LOVELY!!!

_christine_

I love the bottle and that's about it.

Acquarossa is okay. Not bad. Not good. Okay. It's, well, rose and some other, non-descript stuff.

I kept waiting to smell something distinctive, but it never evolved into anything but rose and some vague other stuff that was barely noticeable.

anjezas

Lantana is very strog here, liked it, in winter should be nice

Sade800

I almost didn't buy this due to all the negative reviews but I kept lookin at all the wonderful notes and went with my gut -I'm REALLY glad I did.

This smells divine
I like really strong perfumes and it could do with more oompf but nonetheless it is lovely.

It reminds me of Coco Chanel but with roses.
You could wear it day or night - its powdery, sexy and sophisticated.

My all time favourite perfume is the original Fendi.
I didn't like Fan Di Fendi, as I thought it was v generic. L'Acquarossa is not remotely generic and I'm really happy with this blind buy purchase!

corkscrewcurly

@cottonginny below - the cold shouldn't have affected your perfume; it's heat and light which cause the trouble!

Enjoy!

CottonGinny

The Fendi line has always intrigued me. I am new to high end perfumes but have been fortunate enough to find them online at an affordable price so I have been indulging myself on occasion with a new one (to me) here and there. Even though I did not like the original Fan di Fendi, I don't think I gave it enough time. I did purchase L'Acquarossa recently. Wouldn't you know, it was outside sitting in my mailbox overnight in freezing temperatures. When I opened the bubble packaging, the bottle was a tester, so no box. It was not frozen but very cold. I am letting it sit at room temperature for awhile before I even attempt to try it. Hopefully, I will find that it is okay and I love it. Will let you know.

Shiffy

Profumo carino, da giorno, molto portabile. Predominano rosa e agrumi su una base muschiata. Mi ricorda tantissimo Tesori d'Oriente Japanese, anche da un confronto della piramide olfattiva sono davvero simili!

Edemay

A very sexy scent. Clean and spicy.
Its mature and classy.
At first spray i get crisp florals, spice and a touch of citrus.
Dry down is cleaner, calmer and greener.
It reminds me of dolce. Like an older classier version of dolce.

blake.lee

Citrus rose with a dusty plum note. Has the dreaded hairspray vibe. My husband hates it but he loves Vera Wang Princess Night so he's probably not the best person to get feedback from, lol! I personally like my citrus and rose combos crisp and refreshing like iced tea on a hot day. I don't like the sticky, dusty plum sneaking in there or the woods. I like my plum and woodsy notes with sweets and patchouli instead.

The bottle is gorgeous though, heavy and feels so nice in my hand. It will be staying in my collection based on the bottle alone.

Megamind

I'm glad that I waited for some time before making a real review. My first review would be negative. I bought a bottle and in the beginning the fragrance revealed quite strange cold wax notes with no sweetness. I immediately accused lantana flowers as it was the only untested ingredient. I put the bottle aside thinking to find another sweet fragrance to couple with.
Recently I sprayed it again and what was my surprise to find a very fresh and fizzing moderately sweet scent. I think the fragrance should just settle in the bottle so I glad I was patient. It's a rose in all it's splendour on a seder and musk beneath. And lantana flowers just multiply the echo of the young and barely opened rose with several drops of the dashed dew on it. I think that this watery sensation is amplified by the orange blossom. I had a pure orange blossom fragrance and it was very watery.
In the very beginning I thought that this fragrance is week but after wearing it for some time I take my words back. It have a very strong silage because when I go out from my office for several minutes and after enter in it again I can smell the fragrance in the whole room. The longevity is pretty descent as well.
What a dreamy and romantic interesting cold fragrance.

Dassie

Blind bought Fendi L'acquarossa in error when I was looking to buy Fan Di Fendi...insert face palm here. I do think it's an exquisite fragrance, but it's just not my cup of tea. So, if anyone is interested in an EXCHANGE please PM me.

MademoiselleMaya

On me it's a pleasant, fruity musk with floral background. Soft and feminine skin scent.
Casual.
Reminds me a bit of Play by Givenchy edp in its style.
Must be the name and nothing-challenging aspects of the scent since I enjoy wearing it during period o.O

flowers-in-the-springtime

So much hate for this but seriously folks!! This is another gorgeous perfume which just reeks of chic, Italian classiness and sophistication!
A beautiful, heavy floral fragrance which is strong and powerful and definitely makes itself known without hiding in the wings.
I can smell a sweet, heady rose, but I think that the presence of prune, which is quite sweet in a fermented way, rather than a sugary way, in the top notes, may be putting some people off. This perfume settles very quickly though and you don't have long to wait for the heart notes to appear. It's worth waiting for!
I don't like to delve into notes because I'm not that great a recognising many of them, but I love this perfume. If you are a lover of 'grown up' scents that are sweet without being cotton candy, and if you love statement perfumes, this babe is right up your street. It's going for a song on 'the bay', and eventually, this will become rare and discontinued so it's worth adding it to your collection whilst you can!

Estasia

It's so fruity and alchoolic that smells of wine. It is not for me

daniela.llanos

I don't know about this one. It's a strong scent and opens with something that reminds me of a cheap drugstore perfume...It pleasant when drying down, but still nothing special on my skin unfortunately.

almarie

I had this, but I sold it on eBay. I'm kind of getting out of fragrance, and some of them actually give me a migraine- this being one of them! So, at least some one else can enjoy the perfumes that I am selling because unfortunately, however beautiful they are, I just cannot wear them anymore:(

Kbt71

My most recent purchase. It was a blind buy after much consideration of notes and reviews and the bargain price at a uk online retailer for the 30ml.

It opens very strongly but there is a fabulous citrus and floral medley which softens with a woody note.

Sillage was good and longevity was 6+ hours longer on clothes (I wore a cardigan with friends when I wore this just to keep my arms warm.... Didnt keep it on all night just back and forth the car and travelling, but I smelt remnants of L'Acquarossa when I picked it up a few days later). I felt very classy wearing this and likewise I feel the bottle is just....... Understated!

It reminds me of something... I just cant put my finger on it, I just know I like it... I will report back if I remember!

I like my first Fendi purchase!

HebaD'Opium

I got this perfume 2 years ago and man, I love it. I got it from the duty free market and it was one of those love at first sniff perfumes. First off, I love the gorgeous red bottle, with the gold cap and the gold base, it's very chic and edgy.
Then most importantly, the juice itself is less citrus and more fresh and floral on me.
It gives off that fresh floral aura you feel when you walk into a flower shop; it's musky and the scent of roses is so heavy and floating in the air that it's almost tangible. This is the impression I get from the first spritz of this perfume till it settles down a bit, musk and roses with hints of magnolia.
As the perfume settles down a bit, I could sense the 'citruses' in the perfume blending together, the orange blossom and the mandarin however they're still a bit suppressed by the musk-rose combo and after like 30 minutes the perfume -on my skin- changes dramatically, the heavy rose fades slightly giving way to bergamot and magnolia and at this point it gives off a slightly 'clean' vibe.
The dry down is something else, I get the patchouli, musk, mandarin and a faint rose note.
I don't get any 'plum' note throughout my experience and the perfume doesn't feel at all sweet nor fruity (on my skin anyway).
I neglected a note that is present all the time when you spray this perfume and it is baffling, it might be the "lantana" I remember seeing these flower as a kid but I fail to recall their scent because I mainly thought they weren't real flowers, like plastic flowers or so. Anyway, this note I'm trying to describe is somewhat wax like, smells like a plain candle would though less intense than that and more spice like, sometimes it gives off a rubbery feel or maybe they're the same thing, I've no idea honestly but it makes this perfume interesting :D It blends so well with the fragrance, and I can't describe it properly.
Point is, it's awesome :D

Now, this perfume has a moderate to heavy sillage, depends on how much you spray, 3 are enough to make a trail though cause it has a heavy atmosphere about it even though it's fresh and floral (I'm thinking it's because of the mystery note). It stays on for quite some time, I don't have to reapply for like 5 hours or so and its scent lingers on clothes till night (If I wear it in the morning).

I like to wear it during summer and hot days but sometimes it's perfect for a winter morning if I want to feel fresh.
It's good as a casual day to day perfume but I don't like wearing it frequently cause it will make it less special and I love it so I don't want to waste it.
It's chic, fresh, neat and could be best friend to your black leather jacket as much as it is a best friend to sheer white tops. Versatile is the word.
Love it.

Mushana

I love the bottle. The opening notes had me curious then came the middles notes with the twist from I assume the Lantana and by the time is settled down I was nauseous and had a mild headache.
I think on the right skin this fragrance could be amazing but on my skin....eish no!
And I do applaud Fendi for making a scent that isn't the generic sweet stuff the market is saturated in.

nats6027

this is like having 3 lovely perfumes in one bottle...

first 30 minutes into the perfume: i get Tresor in Love Midnight rose ( the first 30 minutes reminds me of this sweet, candy rose like fragrance )

after 20 minutes from smelling like Tresor in Love Midnight Rose : L'acquarossa gives me the fragrant vibe of my signature fragrance which is NR L'eau

...then it dries down and becomes J'adore L'Absolu which is another pefume that I love.

Shiffy

Thelma Scents

This is similar to D&G Rose The One. But then, it lacks the sillage and longevity of RTO on my skin.
It was pure rose and Cedar on me. I really do not like the synthetic rose smell. RTO is a better alternative for the floral fruity rose, tangerine and cedar mix

francess.raymundo

this smells exactly like my Gucci Flora Generous Tuberose but doesn't last as long. I like it and I think that it's a keeper. :)

Ilprofumo

Rose rosse per Te, ho comprato sta sera....this is the perfume version of the song.
I LOVE IT! Finally a rose scent perfume that is perfect. Well done FENDI! It is elegant, sophisticated, and screams Italian. Grazie.

Nikkafragrance

I feel in love with tis smell from the first spray! One word:GORGEOUS!

ojosverdes

The drydown is a dupe of j'adore both perfumes same nose. A review is coming.

Anywho

I don't know this smells like rosy soapy mess to me. They have discontinued masterpieces to replace them with this?!!! This one is just as lacklustre as the other fragrances Fendi released in the last few years. What are they thinking!!??!!!!

Edit: Just seeing this review again and...sorry to all the people who like this scent. I hope I have not offended anyone (I blame my ranting on sheer frustration), but I cannot understand that they do not at least keep the original Fendi etc. on the shelves as well.

nikoleta1

I just got him, hello lover! Great opulent, floral, lasting, what else to ask for?

ticalica

Stunning bottle but the scent lacks personality and depth

SeleneHdez

littebee

It's so lovely. The best rose nowadays. Without oud and/or vanilla. Just fresh and crispy rose surrounded by spring flowers in the morning garden. Very uplifting, lively smell. What a nice breath of fresh air after all those slightly heavy winter warmers.

It's elegant, but not too serious, not girly as well. Sillage and longevity moderate.
I have to mention the bottle too: it's so stylish, a glossy ferrari red makes the look:)

Natalie Nations

I've had this perfume for sometime now and overtime it has become one of my favorites. L`Acquarossa, to me, smells fresh, crisp, and very aromatic... so the name of the perfume is very fitting. Although rose is not my favorite dominate note, the Sicilian Mandarin and Orange Blossom makes this rose truly delightful. I have worn this out several times now and always get compliments. The longevity/sillage is satisfying for me as well.

persefoni

Citrusy lantana, rose and manolia, more precisely a colourful parade of herbal, freshly-cut flowers - by no means sweet or girly!

It is impressive how a wild bottle colour can attract so much attention! Still, this explosion of flowers on a slightly bitter base is very nice!

... this scent has nothing to do with the previous fendi creations... it stands totally on its own!

shanghaifleur

I received this as a gift, and I like it quite a lot. The bottle is very attractive (I know, so shallow of me!..) and I like the fact that it's opaque so the juice inside is well preserved.
As for the smell itself, L'Acquarossa could have easily passed for yet another traditional rose fragrance if it was not for the citrusy lantana. This note steps up the whole composition into an interesting zesty rose fragrance, very fresh with almost a crunchy "wild herb" feel to it. I'm surprised that this is classified as an oriental.
I think this perfume is very chic without being over the top and can easily be worn at the office for instance. Like others stated, I too would be very curious to try a more intense version of this.

Nirsara

I've found a new love!
After only knowing this perfume for one day, it went straight into the top five of my extensive collection of fragrances.
Some perfumes are acquaintance who come and go, others are loyal friends, some fragrances have been so familiar to you that they have become family and some, well some you just love like nothing before. From the first moment that we met, I loved L'Acquarossa intensely. I find it to be a warm, classy, feminine, seductive, timeless and bewitching sent. This fragrance captures the feeling of what it is to be in love. It only took me two weeks to finish my first bottle.
L'Acquarossa, we'll never part!

BlueJayWay

Too much patchouli and roses. It smells somewhat dated, not for young girls. Anyway, is too gentle too. I do not dislike at all...

Adjames

I disagree with many. This fragrance is hot. It doesn't slap you in the face, but is very sexy with just a touch of spice. I like that it draws people in without announcing my presence. Tried it today at Nordie's and really find it perfect for fall. I will go back tomorrow and purchase it.

Love the dry down! The plum is fantastic in this!

AmoreProfumi

I tried this out @ Nordies I tell ya the bottle is even more lovely in person deff. eye catching, the scent however, while yes it's nice, it's an only just "like" scent, what you have here is a very nice soft citrusy-floral I don't really pick up much oriental-ness b/c I didn't get a whole lot of spice, I got more of the rose and lantana florals with the nice fizzy undertones of the mandarin. It's a very pretty scent but it lacks personality, while nice, it's kind of boring like its missing something it needs something else in there to liven it up a lil.

Hopefully they'll do a flanker of this one maybe make an intense version if they do a l'eau version that'll just be a waste, I already got it for you Fendi, Intensify the juice, deepen the red of the bottle && an all gold topper && voila! L'Acquarossa Intense :), maybe then the like will turn to love, the scent isn't bad it's very worth trying it out I can't say much for the longevity && sillage sorry, give it a try. :)

8/10

Tried it yesterday: Weak, simple. Not worthy.

jivaswood

When I saw it, I bought it immediately, of course, the bottle helps a lot. In fact, I bought because it has notes of Lantana. Lantana was in the garden of my house, when I was a child, and it remembers my house, my mother and my family. Lantana brings me good memories. The aroma that prevails is pink rose with citrus flower lantana. Closely resembles EAUDEMOISELLE EAU Fraiche (GIVENCHY). The difference? The rhubarb is replaced by lantana. But the rose water is present and striking. The projection is average, and durability on the skin either. Worth it? For those who like citrus and discrete floral, it can be a paradise. Woman L'AQUAROSSA is classic and understated. She puts perfume for herself, not for attention of others. Floral, citric and pink rose. That's a great vibe. No innovations, but it smells so good and chic.

Nice, opulent, the best of Fendi's. Reminds me of some perfume, cant figure it out which.

Iris_it

Lantana flowers in the top notes ? Natural flowers are very stinky . Got to smell this fragrance !

EDIT : I do not perceive the unpleasant smell of lantana flowers . The opening is nice but its development is deceiving . Longevity is weak on my skin while it lasts much longer on paper . Not my cup of tea .

In Vogue

This fragrance starts with a blast of rose and red liquorice, as well as the expensive smelling "Estee Lauder" style musky base. In 20 mins. the sweetness of the liquorice is gone, and it's mainly a rose and musk scent. Verrry similar to Loud by Tommy Hilfiger, but stronger, more sillage and longer lasting. This is a strong, feminine, floral oriental from start to finish, an evening scent. Classy and elegant.

ginger68

I tested it last weekend. It is a beautiful fragrance but it's a ghost! The staying power is inexistent. I don't like strong and heavy smells but this is really evanescent. Maybe it depends on my skin. Very elegant bottle, very polite fragrance.

sallyjwong

I have oily skin and a strong sense of smell, and this perfume mixes well with my chemistry. This perfume is soft and lovely. It brings back memories of the scented silk-lined carved wooden containers my mother got from China. At first I thought I smelled roses and leather in this perfume, but then I realized that it was the lantana that made it smell so wonderful. I have never smelled lantana before in perfume, which makes this very unique. It is a perfect day scent for the office.

LadyDi

Dull...dull...dull...Same old aquatic scent from Macy's sales brochures. No staying power. Dries down into a sweet powderish scent. Reminds me of Red Door. Unfortunately, Red Door smells better...cheaper, too.

Scout

I finally had the chance to test this and I am really looking forward to getting a bottle. I'll likely hold off until Spring or those late winter months where things start to thaw and the world is still very gray on the surface, but you know those little bulb shoots are just waiting to burst forth. I'll also probably be wearing this in the dryest days of summer drought. ok, so on to the juice
I am a rose fanatic, usually favoring the deep roses of YSL Paris and specialty roses from L'Occitane and others. This is a very unique rose. I have smelled it before, but a long long time ago, maybe in the 80s or 90s, possibly at a retail store like Victoria's secret where flower themes abounded.
Usually a rose of this timbre is paired up with a lily, a peony, a gardenia, or a tuberose. But here it is by itself with some kind of fresh clean lemony bright pairing. Not lemony per se, but rather that invigorating feeling you get once you've been given a blast of lemoncello or lemon merengue. Instantly clean. It doesn't unfold into a million layers of petals opening to new depths. It's there. Clean and rose. No muss, no fuss. Even very little base to get in the way. The right angles and clean lines of the bottle also reflect the bold and straightforward nature of rose juxtaposed with fresh and bright.
It does kind of dissapate into a veil whereby you need to keep your nose to your skin to get the strongest parts, but generally stays clean and strong for approx 6 hours.
Calling all rose and fresh lovers. Keeper. A rose with no powder, hurrah hurrah hurrah.

WhoScentsU-lee

out of the bottle it has a ton of pizzazz! Roses and musk galore... 4 hours into dry down I can barely detect it on my skin, I smell it on my flannel shirt but very light on my skin. Great for the office, does not have the moxie of Fan de Fendi or Fendi. I like it but I wish I would have thrown the bottle in my purse to touch up...

leboblue

while I haven't seen the bottle in person, it appears to be opaque which I wish all bottles were to shield the juice from light. as I keep my collection safely in the dark, it would be nice to display more as I sometimes do when they are in a light proof bottle. nothing bugs me more than seeing testers on glass shelves under hot bright lights! maybe artificial light is ok but sunlight is definitely bad.

Pout

It is absolutely lovely, very Fendi. You can feel that you are wearing red color on your skin. Although it is gentle and unfortunately not very long lasting.

Kanz Oman

I find this somehow similar to burberry weekend which I dislike ! very soapy

Mellyhelly

Nice! The bottle is very original and beautiful and the perfume itslef is bright, frizzy, elegant and longlasting.
Not a choice of mine, but I like it and among all the designer launches it stands quite out of the crowd.
In the opening it reminds me a lot of YSL Champagne or Yvresse.

sameera

Nothing new in this fragrance, just a perfume

MUST8936

It's a new kind of "Cet obscur objet du désir"!

cleo cupcake

Hi Scorpiosheep - don't worry there is no note in this that smells of Lantana - or red cedar, or patchouli etc. It's just a light fresh mostly citrus fragrance. As others have said it feel like Fan di Fendi. It's nice, it;s safe and it couldn;t offen anyone if it tried. The glossy Ferrari red bottle hides a shy little scent that is perfect for the office - sadly.

genny17

This is actually nice, and fresh. I had actually hoped it would have more character, in fact it is quite light, and elegant. Soft floral I detect a bit of rose , but this isn't a rose scent per se, and it is more fresh than musky, thank goodness. The lantana note gives it a bit of a weird edge in my views. It is pleasant, easy to wear...but not in the vibe of the others great Fendi creations..
All in all, nice, but not groundbreaking for sure..
update in a way not smelling good enough to me to keep it

delara

a fresh , lovely perfume , great for the office

antonpan

Fendi L'Acquarossa is the example of fragrance with a promising opening and common heart notes. I must admit it is more distinctive, more unique than most of recent releases, but still it disappoints a lot in the base. L'Acquarossa starts really sophisticated with old-fashioned bergamot, but soon L'Acquarossa becomes fruitier with a rose inclusion. In the base all the sophistication vanishes leaving me with ordinary and quite cheap smelling sour fruity dry down reminding of Marc Jacobs Lola for example.

Cool bottle however!

floralfragrance

Tested this today and I think it is a very clean scent, best for summer and spring. It is not young and it is not sweet. Flowery, but not cloying. I can imagine a 30 something elegant woman with a nice tan and a white dress wearing this to work.

dormir6

Wow! Clean, refreshing and ladylike altogether. It is not an easy task. I don't like rose, but in this fragrance rose is beautiful! Makes this composition feminine in a classical way, but it's not the old, romantic rose nor the blooming bouqet style. Very clever, the citrus note makes it a little bit cold and suitable for modern women. Piquant and spicy and clean. Very very good!!!!!

olga1780

The solid red varnished bottle is a piece of art, but the fragrance is very underwhelming, to say the least. It starts off whith a strong alcoholic blast which settles to a very mediocre fruity-floral scent. Other than the plum note ans a hint of magnolia, I can't discern much.

L`Acquarossa is actually very similar to Fan di Fendi EDP in style and consistency, which was by no means a masterpiece either. The composition is very well blended, smooth and pleasant, with pretty decent sillage and longevity, but it lacks a kick and personality to match the gorgeous bottle.

I was wearing L`Acquarossa to dinner, and quite honestly, was feeling underdressed wearing it. This is a type a scent I see myself wearing to the gym or in the middle of a very hot summer day, but not for a special occasion.

Although L`Acquarossa may appeal the the masses, my guess is, the owners of large perfume collections will be disappointed.

magda14012

Look forward to the new Fendi. I do hope it is going to reflect the beauty of the previous perfumes by Fendi such as Palazzo, Theorema. These were unique, long lasting with a trail and showed the Italian cut and class

malinkin

Very nice perfume, though it reminds of something that I've used before. Probably, Love in Paris by Nina Ricci. Sillage is very similar to this, though the top notes sound different.
Perfect for evening.

Germany

On wow I want this one badly. Looks stunning and sounds so good!!!! September will be a good yummy fragrance time with all the warm wonderful scents I love so much.
