Palazzo Fendi for women

It still breaks my heart to think of all the (now) classics that I tossed or gave away because I didn't wear them anymore... But not this one! So happy that I still have half a bottle left! At the time of buying this, I've worn it mainly during summer vacations abroad and I can still feel the carefree vibes when I close my eyes and sniff the bottle. But tbh I don't wear it often now, it smells very sophisticated and grownup and back then I really wanted to be that but now that I am I'm not really that into it anymore, if that makes sense ;). It still has great sillage & longevity and it's a really outstanding combination of citrus (sweet ones), flowers, herbs and wood, very nicely balanced.

Refined and elegant perfume. Smells very natural of heavy sweet citrus and orange blossom. Bright, juicy and some kind of crystal light

Anyone in the U.K. want to buy or swap a 98% full 50ml bottle of the eau de Parfum message me! I used to love this fragrance and stocked up on a few bottles but my tastes have changed.

Created by François Demachy, Palazzo was launched in the summer of 2007, being the return of FENDI to perfumery, three years after when the giant LVMH decided to discontinue all the brand's perfumes. Unfortunately for fans and the perfume industry, this perfume has also been discontinued.

The wealth and seduction of this perfume are characteristic of its oriental floral composition, built around the orange blossom, an old flower and strongly present in Mediterranean culture, made on a sweet woody base.

Its opening is fresh, succulent... citrus fruits with hints of pink pepper that bloom in an almost dry, powdery floral heart, where the african orange blossom is sweetly enriched in a chord with jasmine and roses. The tangerine note remains, bringing freshness to the composition and reducing the sweetness of other notes, contributing to the overall harmony and lightness of the perfume. The darker and smokier notes of guaiac wood, patchouli and sandalwood fill the base, giving a more serious and refined and subtly boozy woody/balsamic aspect (champagne due to guaiac wood).

This palace was planned symmetrically by its perfumer, like the Roman architecture. Each note is like a column that works in balance and symmetry to support one of the best compositions I have ever felt. It has a minimalist and smooth feel, but it projects and fixes with dignity, creating an indelible mark, a merit that is given for being so well executed.

Palazzo has a classic appeal, of fresh and soapy colonies, bringing an Italian Mediterranean aura, but worked with deeper and sweeter notes of wood. If Veronica Lake had a perfume, this would be it. A gleaming beauty, inside an intrigue, like her face in film noirs.

The bottle is a separate show. The lid is oval and transparent, like a crystal... the bottle, with an artdeco air, is made of solid and heavy glass has engraving on the back, making reference to “Palazzo di Fendi”, a brand flagship store in Rome.

An outstanding and modern floriental, made with a unique harmony between the elegant and the sensual. A balance between critus, floral and woody notes that could only result in a discontinued masterpiece.

To me it smells like my grandmas dishwasher hahaahah it’s absolutely amazing. It makes me feel super clean and delicate

This fragrance does not develop on my skin as it should. The opening is all sandalwood, but then it quickly transforms into a sweet tangerine and patchouli combo. There is also something sugary in it, reminding me of scents such as Franck Boclet Sugar and such. Even the sharp, cooling orange blossom and pink pepper cannot temper this overwhelming sweetness. Palazzo projects nicely and lasts about 6 hours.

Eyed a tiny 5 ml bottle for months before pulling the trigger as a blind buy, and it is one of my new favorites. Fendi creates masterpiece fragrances, then discontinues them. There's nothing like this that I've ever tried. The astringent citrus opening, dissonant with the overall effect, dissipates immediately, leaving a warm elegant creamy white floral mixed with an oddly addictive sweet note of plastic (such as when you unwrap an new item packaged in clear soft vinyl wrapping). Strange to describe, yet it's blended so well. After an hour or so, a quiet blossom musk scents the skin for many hours longer, not unlike the famous Bruno Acampora Musc. The overall effect is luxe in a nonchalant manner. The exquisite blending and slow development over a few hours are truly enjoyable. I find myself drawing my wrist to my nose often over the course of the day.

I’ll be honest, I bought this for the cool as hell bottle. BUT — I read that this perfume was created by Annick Menardo, Thierry Wasser and Jean-Pierre Béthouart, so I was looking forward to trying it. If you can find one, there is also a matching Fendi Palazzo handag, with the buildings on it.

This opens and unfolds quite loud, if a bit more intimate in the drydown. The opening is hard to take with the sour bergamot, tangerine and lemon over a woody base, combined with a punch of patchouli and this strange plasticy chemical melange. A bit floor cleaner, to be honest. But, the florals open shortly after, blooming over a warm honey glow. That strange synthetic plastic and chemical ‘something’ hangs around, and has to be waited out, as it does eventually subside somewhat, in roughly 20-40 minutes (though it is always sort of under the surface). What is left is that warm, round, syrupy glow with the orange blossom and jasmine, and the florals maintain a bit of a waxy and indolic impression.

The whole concoction feels warm, and honeyed, and night blooming, like it is hanging heavy in the warm night air, but yet is light and intimate, and seductive, and it works. It feels like a nighttime scent for a formal affair, or something to warm you up on a cold day.

There Is somewhat of a moderate projection to this, and it’s long lasting. It is sad that this perfume is lost to discontinuation. It is beautiful.

I am using my tiny little bottle of the EDP until I can replace my Chanel Coco Noir.
This scent very well could have been a Chanel-- it feels like a relation to Coco Mademoiselle Intense, but with orange blossom, and more elegant.

Unlike many opinions here, I do not associate Palazzo with warm honey. From my side it's not warm at all, on the contrary - I feel it metallic cool, sharp, bitter. Super chic, unusual and interesting fragrance - absolutely recognizable and unlike any other.
Currently I have only a small amount of it and I use it sparingly and with great pleasure :)

Beautiful like Red Door, Dolce Vita or Poeme, oriental - floral, warm, sunny. Lasts 9-10 hours at least. Italian. It also describes the scent in some way.
It smells warm on the skin with warm liquid honey. Floral also side by side.
I would not say it's a seducer. Maybe I'm missing, more sexiness.

I will only say that Palazzo has the beautiest bottle of all perfumes! Massive, full glass, great details, massive crystal cap...

I tried this in EDT , to me it was very clean smelling kinda airy, but too much like washing powder too , sorry for all the lovers as i love Theorema and a few others from Fendi i wonder if in EDP it's much different ?? Anyone know ? Thanks :)

sooo happy to have this truly classic and timeless scent..plenty of it, because just say NO to reformulations! I can't begin to describe how this smells...it is the epitome of the most feminine, classy goddess that have men charmed and under her spell easily...

Palazzo is probably the most unique, strange and dramatic perfumes I have tried. First of all not even a single note smells as it should be on me. No citrus, no white flowers, no nothing. Its smell of... Palazzo. Of course I could admit that most prominent note that I able to detect is guiac wood and earhy gloomy patch.
Otherwise it smells of realistic empty refurbished palace/building in Venice. Perfectly named! Each country has its own smell, you feel it straight from the airport, and Palazzo Fendi smells like Venice to me.
Its slightly dump smell of buildings with long history. Imagine you was walking for a long time with your backpack in hot weather among narrow canal-streets and suddenly turned and came out in big open plan arched room, the walls were just painted, almost wet from whitewash, they are cold, you can hear your own footsteps echoing across the long corridor, which leads you into picture gallery with dozens of Titian-haired portraits...They look like they are talking directly to you...Ghostly presence of something otherwordly is this fragrance. Not for everyone.

Getting hold of an iconic perfume like this creates great expectations. So far I'm surprized two ways. It is not really what I expected as the total perfume experience , but the drydown is Magic !
If that wouldn't have appeared this wouldn't be mine to keep...
The topnotes immediatly got me thinking of the top of Estee Lauder - Adventurous . very similar top whith both sweetand sour nuances , but there the similaritys end too. I will wear this for the heart and base note with a happy heart for a great catch ! The subtle patch sandelwood and guaiac wood creates a dreamedone base. The drydown is really different from what I've tried so far.

Till this day, I'm still shaking my head and asking why? Why? Why?? Why did they discontinued such a beauty? I was so upset! One time I even found a bottle in my city amd wanted to buy it the next day, but the lady already sold it! I was in bad state the rest of the week.

The perfume was pure glam. It opened with a very warm explosion. Very woody, floral even a bit incense like, one that I never smelled before. It turned heads, everybody wanted to know what I was wearing, my best friend got addicted to it (she's asking why as well) it was just pure genius! Excellent sillage and holds forever.

The reason why Fendi discontinued it was dissapointing sales in the first quarter and they felt like it was too oldfashioned for their image. If you look to what they produced now, I would say it was a big mistake. They could have easily kept this in their collection for the sophisticated lady and keep something for the younger people as well...... Fan di Fendi was horrible. Plastic synthetic smell that gave me nothing compared to this....

I will never understand it, and still be asking WHY? Every time I think of it......

Got my sample of this, and of course, anything with patchouli and citrus is an automatic win for me. I am heartbroken that it is discontinued.

Hmmm, very citrus aromatic. A wellcrafted beauty that is soothing for the mind. I smell mostly citrus, woods and something sweet, perhaps tangerine? It's very low on the patch. As it dries down it becomes more dry and citrusy and I'm not sure that I'm as found of the base that I was with the heart. I like it a lot but I don't see it joining my collection, at least not in the nearest future. The projection is good but it's halflife short. After a couple of hours it doesn't radiate much, but I can smell it from my wrist for the rest of the day.

C'est chic, opulent sans vous étouffer, c'est capiteux sans jamais tomber dans la vulgarité, flamboyant sans le "bling-bling" d'un autre parfum de la même trempe.

This is a total Mind boggling scent. I have no idea what it reminds me of, yet it reminds me of so much. It is very Chic. Not romantic or sexual, flirty or cute, but very American Chic. This is for a strong willed and strong minded woman. I just love this and it is a shame I learned to love it so late. I tested it long ago and immediately brushed it off as "too masculine". But, I recently bought a mini for change, and now I need a full bottle of it!

This smells fresh and green, slightly spicy/screechy with a citric note, and patchouli and resinous undertones (think prada amber).

I imagine a late summer, early autumn party in a huge mansion in the middle of the wooded suburbs of Connecticut. Everyone is dressed to the nines, partying on the huge patio outdoors, sipping champagne and talking big talk. Wow, I need this scent in my life. Extremely Unique and Very Captivating. It just draws you in....

Ooh this is kind of sparkly! I've finally got round to trying my little sample of this, spraying a bit on the back of my hand. At first I get something reminiscent for me of the old 80s yellow Giorgio - but with a fruity edge. I don't get any pink pepper, thankfully but I've just had a very definite and strong blast of essential lavender oil coming through, although lavender is not listed as a note. That's calmed down now but all the while I can detect a 'fake grape' kind of scented pencil for kids kind of smell clinging to the tip of my nose. I like that smell and have been searching for it in a perfume. Eureka! Jasmine and orange flower - I find that combination in, say, Elie Saab too too much - 'I'm not a white flower girl', but here, they know their place and don't annoy me. Yes, as someone else said below, I think this IS one of those 'masterful creations' - the smell changes and loops and whorls in a spatial way. It reminds me of all kinds of smells that I can't place yet - all together. I definitely want to give Palazzo a proper wear.

I acquired Palazzo in a swap, and did not know what to expect as it was a blind swap for me and not the usual type of perfume I go for( I dislike pink pepper and patchouli and love vanilla!). Well I love it! It is such a ligtly citrusy yet feminine scent, with white florals and hints of pink pepper... The patchouli base makes it smell deep and feminine. Yes, it has some bubblegum resemblance for the first minute or so, but it is not childish at all. It smells a little bit like a more grown up, sophisticated version of Light Blue (I am not suggesting they smell similar, not at all, but to me they evoke the same feeling of smelling goodness in their top notes:) ) The dry down is a beatiful patchouli blended with flowers, that doesn't feel heavy or overly sweet. I cannot believe Fendi discontinued it, I'd better start hoarding bottles. Palazzo was for me an example of a perfume done right, that wins over even people like me who dislike every single one of its notes on paper!

This is a beautifully orchestrated symphony that only a genius could have created (thank you Mr. Demachy). I couldn't believe they discountinued it 'because it didn't meet sales expectations' ohhh the sad world we live in :( There is no other like it and Fan de Fendi (the new one) is a joke compared to this one. This perfume is luxe luxe luxe in a bottle. The smell, the bottle, the sillage, the longevity, the compliments it draws, I could go on and on .... It was definitely a masterpiece!

Pretty, fruity pink pepper smells like bubblegum and the wood base is a soft, lovely incense fragrance. This is what I'd hoped Etat libre d'Orange's Bubblegum et Encens would smell like and didn't. Strangely wonderful.

I just bought this beauty through ebay. It is really perfect, harmonious, charming ...
My husband, who never says anything about my perfumes, said to me: "Oh my god ! please, what perfume are you wearing today ? It is delicious" ... and yes, he is right: it is luscious. Also, very long lasting and excellent sillage.
I cannot understand why it is discontinued ... a shame, truly a shame :-(

This fragrance is so beautiful and it's such a horrible shame they chose this one in particular to discontinue. I love it so much that I use it only during winter and especial occasions, and even bought a second bottle that I have put away, for when the 1st one runs out. After the second one runs out I think I'll probably cry.

Palazzo entered my world of fragrance two winters ago and left a negative impression without a reason.
Then I got almost empty sample and after opening it to repeat testing, because, by God, it is no longer manufacture or sell, I found just the opposite.I am glad.
New impression: discreetly sparkling citrus notes at first, then pepper, sweet cloud of smoke, thick and airy at the same time. Somehow it "catches" Angel, but more tenderly, then shows "a hint" of Lolita, with less ambition, yet get a decent soapy flavor and as-powdery sweetness, more on skin than on a blotter and at moderately warm weather. Colder weather - less sweetness . There are also one, attractive "dirty" tone, which lures to keep smelling.
It's not strong, but it is thick with fine aura. It is longlasting, but puzzling: one moment it is here, the next it is gone, and here again after a while. Feminine and ladylike, without pretension, casual but elegant, soft, but not too much, sharp, but not migrainic.
Palazzo is a palace full of mysterious chambers. Some are full of sunshine, some are darker of the the darkest, some have window wide opened, some are possessed by smoke, ..and all the time you can hear cheerful chatter ...
Magic Italian chic, charming notes, cheerful composition, appealing sweetness ... Like the way it is.

I sooo wanted to love it! I love the concept, I love the bottle, I'd love to look like the model in the vintage Palazzo ad, but... there's something about this perfume that makes it impossible for me to wear it. It must be the aldehydes combined with white flowers, including jasmine - probably my least favourite flowery note. Very soapy one, with waxy undertone, on the edge of being suffocating. Flat - as opposed to full-bodied. Definitely not for me, but I do believe it may smell great on somebody else.

Palazzo is the perfect summer scent for me because of the citrus notes which really stand out. The citrus is blended with orange flower and rose, tempered by woody notes and patchouli. I find it to be a complicated and very energizing perfume. I can't stop sniffing my wrists all day. The fragrance lasts and lasts, but you have to be careful not to spray too much. It can be strong. The bottle is beautiful.
It's too bad it's been discontinued because it's one of a kind. I found my bottle from one of those on-line discount retailers and will use it until the last drop is gone.

Palazzo has a special place in my heart, because it was my first "serious" perfume ever. That is, before it I had chosen all my scents by first notes or because they were easy/gentle/sweet/funny or whatever to wear. But Palazzo was more: it was a challenge.

No love at first sniff here. Not even liking. It was something I had to think over, sniff again and think over. Of course the bottle was gorgeous and Fendi famous for its unusual scents. But those reasons were not enough to buy Palazzo even at a very good price. But boy, am I happy that I gave it a chance and after hesitating purchased it (90ml EDP)!

For such a wonderful, unique creation it is difficult to find a counterpart to compare with. Some notes bring to mind Iceberg's The Fragrance, namely bergamot, patchouly and spiciness together (P has pink pepper, ITF coriander). But still, those two are distinctively different scents even sharing those notes.

On my skin Palazzo opens as a bergamot-y, peppery and very dry... bug spray (said my DH). I asked him to save his judgement just a little later - well, I had made the same mistake myself so it was easy to pretend being wise ;-)

Then comes smokiness - even some kind of incense (I picture narrow, fragrant wood sticks evaporating in a cool, dark building like church).

Only after that I detect flowers, mainly jasmine - noble, solemn white flowers which bloom in the middle of savory bergamot and aromatic woods. And more or less like that Palazzo stays on me for hours.

Now, that doesn't sound very appealing, does it? But IT IS! The entirety is beautiful: calm, disciplined, focused, without frills. Proud of itself. No excuses, no defences. But at the same time the composition is interesting and vivid, full of shades and shadows... And only then, finally, Palazzo is ready to soften and reveal also its sweetish, shy side.

So, it was love at umpteenth sniff. Palazzo has irrevocably grown on me. It was my high school for understanding that the world of scents is vast and varied. I learned to approach new things eyes (nostrils ;-) wide open. The lesson was: Don't prejudge, don't even judge something you don't understand before you have tried it many - umpteen - times.

Clean fresh jasmine floral; has some power to it as well. Smells sophisticated and expensive too. I like it because even thou it smells clean it gives a strong statement as a perfume. Something nostalgic about this one.....growing up in Europe as a child, everyone's always dressed up when out. Pretty much you look and feel great you want to smell amazing, you wear this luscious floral.
Excellent silage and quality.

Palazzo has a distinct waxy characteristic to me. It starts off wonderfully smooth and citric with sweet, gentle florals peeking through. Then it smells very much to me like rose-scented candles and peppery wood, which creates a faintly smoky effect. Very smooth, very polished. The wood sort of transforms into an earthy smell that defines the base.

Overall, it is understated, elegant, mature, and refined.

Ice tea with rose petals...or cool marble with distant roses. I have the feeling that it really goes more harmonically with blonde women though that I usually don't categorize perfumes like that...

I only have a half sample of this my mother gave me, I rarely dare to test a tiny drop, but I absolutely love this. To me it smells expensive, and blonde, a cool, focused woman with money, it screams self control to me, almost haughty, but yet I love it. A perfume to wear when you need a little bit of a shield, it picks you up, straightens your back and polishes you up.

It's orange blossom and patchouli but in a fairly cold way, not your biker leathers patchouli here at all!
Others have mentioned Insolence which is interesting, another scent I would put on for exactly the same reason I would wear this. Yet I need to find something more similar, can anyone recommend anything?

I don't regret if this scent has been discontinued. I always thought Palazzo is too synthetic, too contrived (poor notes of jasmine, synthesized in a laboratory bum). A perfume cold and without heat (Ok, it has a beautiful bottle, but is it really important?- I don't think so!). I still got a full bottle of 50 ml, I can't use it. I dislike completly. Ughhh!

Think it was a mistake trying this in summer.Sickening. Smells so cheap and plastic on me, it gave me nausea. Overwhelmingly floral, but in a bad way. I'm no blonde, maybe that's why...
Not sure if I'll try it again this winter. Hate this bold jasmin scent.

beautiful!!! rich rich fragrance.. a little goes a long way. i do smell the tangerine sandelwood and lemon/lime!!! it is sooo lux !! takes me back to the 80s.

I bought this perfume after falling in love with the warm woody notes. It was a very short love affair! The scent became overpowering and sickly. I now use it as a toilet freshner.

I am wearing Palazzo today and it rings too many bells. This perfume has an older and more successful sister: Kenzo Flower. While Flower is drier, Palazzo is only its more feminine version - using heavier hand with flowers (hedione?), but I'm positive they are build on the very same structure. I might be wrong, maybe it is hedione, - the jasmine aromachemical substitute, which twists the entire composition and gives the impression of this transparent fruity woody base.. Meanwhile, I am digging deeper and voila! I found the great mother - Samasara EDT in its original formula (transparent bottle with red cap). The hearts and drydowns of Palazzo and Flower are so similar I can barely tell them apart, only they can't afford the mink coat their older relative wearing - the real sandalwood from East Indies and quality jasmine absolute. Maybe the unisex feel was what made Flower popular, a fashionable tag of the 21's century. While Palazzo is interesting, it is not entirely new, so to answer your questions - maybe lack of originality and aggressive marketing brought it to discontinuation.

An incredible perfume. I have to agree with so many of the reviews - Elegant and Expensive, Warm and Smoky and a bit Aloof. She is not so much floral to me as the scent of worship and sacrifice. When I wear this I feel that am entitled and doors should just open for me. It has a transforming personality. I just love it and wish I could always wear it - but that would be a common and tasteless use of such a masterpiece and I would soon feel unworthy to possess it. So I shall savour the rare moments I spend in her presence, knowing the day will come when she, like her sister Fendi, will gently disappear, leaving me with the memory of having walked with a Goddess.

I received this as a gift recently.It is the most loved gift ever!!! from the beginning there is a soft woody floral scent that forms a base for the other notes to meld with.There is sweet pink pepper dusted on a bowl of juicy oranges that maintain that smokey earthy base.Shortly it morphs into the most lush,intense jasmine vines ever.
Huge deep,blood red roses drip their nectar into the tangle of jasmine.

The deep woody scent of this fume keeps it grounded throughout.Patchouli gives it an even woodier scent,smoky,sexy,rich and most of all a fume with substance.

Excellent sillage and lasts 8/10 hrs on me!!

This is one very pretty, very distinctive warm floral perfume. I love it! So sweet and bubbly. Has great sillage and is very long lasting.

I've been testing some fragrances this afternoon and made a little discovery. I had applied Palazzo on the back of my hand and Yves Rocher So Elixir on the inside of my elbow. They are very similar. I think So Elixir would be a great substitute for the increasingly hard-to-find and expensive Palazzo.

Reminds me of Armani Code without the honey note--and it looks like they are both composed of similar notes. Which is better? I admit to having both in my collection. I find Code has a stronger vanilla drydown and the honey note is hit or miss with me. I think the Palazzo is a safer bet.

I am not sure how to review the fragrance since it develops differently under different weather conditions...
The first impression is of a fruit blast, not offensive, not intrusive, juicy sweetness. It only lasts for approx. 2 minutes and then, when I think it cannot get any more fruity than that, it suddenly changes and I can smell roses (for some reason the smell reminds me of roses growing in wild). After approx half an hour, when I put my nose to my wrist and close my eyes, the fragrance changes and all I can smell at that stage are dark cool chambers in Lincoln Cathedral. I cannot describe the feeling better than that I'm afraid and this is why I consider the fragrance a real genius amongst classy, sophisticated perfumes.
The drydown is very gentle, mild, woodsy and powdery to me.
Palazzo is a must have for an elegant woman who wishes to impress the others and see the heads turning....
I have an EDP and I wish the fragrance had better staying power but it may be due to me applying it very sparingly. Otherwise I might be marking territory whenever I go :-)

Do you know what this reminds me of? You know those tiny lavender-filled hanging bamboo things that you get at festival booths? The same kind of booth that sells scented drawer sachets and incense?

Yup. Lavender. Not even listed in the notes. It's obviously an olfactory illusion.

Also strongly sensing EVERGREEN -- the scent I smell when I'm camping or at a cottage.

And there's a hint of Avon's Skin So Soft oil, too.

Sillage? I'll say! Patchouli might be the reason.

Only recently have I discovered Fendi scents, much to my dissappointment that they are discontinued. First, I tried Theorema and now got my hands on Palazzo. The bottle itself is beautiful and so is the scent.
It is an elegant, floral perfume. It is so warm, feminine and captivates you straight away. Even though the name is Palazzo, the scent is quite modern. Very good staying power.

I find Palazzo resembling the Trussardi Fresh for women (blue bottle). The bottles could not differ more, but the notes are very much resembling. I have them both and they give me the same white blanket feeling!!

I just wrote a revieuw of Bvlgari Jasmin noir.Well this story begins the same way..Wanna drink it and this bottle is really one of my favorites!!
Maybe it's because this was the first present from my husband..And I wore it in Rome last year,14 december at our weddingday!So, I like it a lot, and really wonder Fendi stopped producing it.Lucky me, I have three bottles left.Gonna use it every 14th of each month.(tissues!!!)

this smells soo good. Very feminine and fresh but has a nice sensual depth to it. I keep smelling my wrist and I love how it wafts around me.:-)

This is the opening line from 'Love in the time of Cholera' by the incredibly gifted Gabriel Marquez. You can go on to read many detailed pages of how one man died from gold cyanide, or you can just get the gist from sniffing Palazzo.

Like NLS, I too had unrequited love from this one. And like a bad date, it had to be ended early. I too am baffled, as my standard goodie ingredients are all here. Perhaps my sample was a pre-reformulated version?

Can't say I care enough to find out.

I really wanted to love Palazzo. It has so many great reviews by friendly Fragranticans whose taste is similar to mine. The bottle is gorgeous. A lot of the notes I usually love are in this scent. I love Fendi's Theorema and their original "Fendi" scent, too.

Alas, it wasn't meant to be.

Palazzo was the first "scrubber" I've encountered in quite some time. It smells like someone dumped my beloved Theorema all over the janitor's freshly-waxed floor. Very strong smell of industrial cleaning chemicals on my skin. I could detect a faint hint of creamy floral, and I waited and waited for it to emerge from the chemical haze, but it never blossomed. I couldn't stand it anymore and had to wash it away.

It appears I am in the minority here.

I hope to someday smell it on the skin of someone who wears it well. It might be one I can better appreciate from afar.

Fendi is a party in a Bottle.

Palazzo by Fendi is possibly one of the most elegant fragrances I've ever come across.

From simply glancing at the bottle, one suspects this will be a sophisticated and glamourous floral, and that is exactly what Palazzo is.

Opening with subtle citrus notes and peppery goodness, this fragrance is both bright and gentle on the skin. The heart of white florals however, really brings out the character in Palazzo.

This floral blend is rich, warm and inviting. The whole experience is rather exquisite. Palazzo has a very classic, French-feel about it which reeks of confidence and glamour.

The drydown tends to be quite musky and dense in a smokey sense. The patchouli is barely detectable here, so patchouli haters should be able to cope with Palazzo. This fragrance is bold and distinctive without being too strange for people to handle.

It's such a shame that the Fendi fragrance line has almost ceased to exist. For such an interesting and pleasant fragrance, Palazzo does not deserve to disappear from the market.

This is soft and elegant, with excellent staying power! I am impressed by Palazzo....
The style is elegant, balanced on stiletto pumps, a bit ostentatious, but not loud or heavy or having any strange indolic or dark and dirty notes. This radiates, not in an innocent way, but with the sexy confidence of someone who never plays the seductress. I love Palazzo EDT, and I'm waiting for a bottle of it, but for now I have this Eau de Parfum from a swap, and I find it delightfully similar to the EDT, although not nearly as sublime. I was worried about the amount of patchouli, but this is my 3rd time wearing it-on my neck-and I feel no irritation of the nose. Palazzo is rather sweet, but the sweetness is necessary to make the fluffy rich bouquet just slightly more approachable-the sweetness seems to come from the citrus notes which lift the whole composition. I love Palazzo EDT because it is so clean-smelling, fresh, with a cool woodiness-the woodiness here is very subtle-this is not a wood fragrance. This is a very floral fragrance-and the citrus notes are neither juicy nor sour.

I guess I smell wood too, but the flowers stay for the ride. The pink pepper is hardly there on my skin, just an aldehyde-like lift and then it's big poofy flowers protecting me from a patchouli plant....
The model in the ad looks like Palazzo would fit her-arrogant, confident, elegant, and bitchy...But that is not me-I make Palazzo my scent, and you can make the feminine Palazzo yours, however different from (or similar to) that Fendi model you are....

This is superb.
For a long time now, I am trying to find a new signature scent, after years of 'opium abuse' in the 80's. Although I think I will never have just one signature scent again, this one certainly deserves a big chance. Got hold of 10 little samples on the net, and am terribly in love.
First impression: a bit harsh and loud, but after a couple of minutes it developes itself into a delicate yet firm, soft yet crisp, high society yet bold perfume.
Big ten !!!

I tried it,, it was wonderfull, although it mainly smelled bitter almond, its not even mentioned in its ingredients,, nice..

I just discovered this and love it, only to find out it's been discontinued.
WHY? WHY? WHY?

Very lady-like, heady but also very classic in a good way. Not an easy one, but not boring anyway and if you wear it you'll stand out for sure.

At the beggining is sweet and nice but the dry down reminds me a lot of Cacharel`s Eden which I hate a lot....

To be honest this is one of the worst perfumes I`ve ever tried but my friend`s sister bought it and love it

I am head over heels with this shrine of a perfume!I have never ever come across such a distinct scent in my life! It is most definitely classy, refined and very sophisticated. It is sweet without being cloying, spicy without giving you a headache. You would never dream of wearing it every day (that would ruin the magic...)It is made for those special evenings - and I would recommend it for winter use only. Its sillage is simply amazing!

After reading about the ingredients, I wanted to try Palazzo with impacience. And I did it, to my negative surprise. It was the smell of a washing powder factory. I don't want to be mean, but at a second try it was soap and low quality washing powder.
Conclusion is evaluating perfumes on the basis of their ingredients description may be deceiving.

I put this perfume on my nephew RD and compliment the entry receive :M-m, m smell of door lahash something nice, and it was he -Fendi Palazzo!

It's discontinued... so sad when that happens. :( I don't understand why, but after 18 months it was pulled. I love all the positive reviews! In every other site the reviews are mostly rude and obnoxious about this perfume. Basically a copy of each other and nothing original in the writing. Much better on here! It opens intense and alluring. Powerful but not overwhelming. It then smells familiar. Not like soap, but sort of like Navy by Dana. Only more refined and it wraps around you. Update: It's one of my favorites, but I use it lightly. This is a perfume that will last long into the night or be a statement perfume. It's unique and interesting. No wonder it was discontinued. All the generic fruity florals are popular because they are safe and bore me to tears. Palazzo is a sensual and a smoothly curvaceous woman in her finest dress on the town...

The scent has plenty of warm & comforting woody smell. It looks like its been spiced up by orange scent and it asks for a nice evening out or staying at home in front of the fire place watching an old movie with glass of wine in the hands. So comforting. So woody. Everyone should have some fragrance like that at home! :)

I got addicted to the sample I got, that's how it started. I was sniffing it a couple of times a day. It belongs to this nice kind of perfume that changes along with your mood, you can make it either heavy and seductive (my version), or lighter. On my as I said it's somewhat heavier, smoky. Whenever I think of it I imagine XIX century boudoirs, actresses preparing for the stage in the first days of theatre, men smoking cigars during the antract, baroque architecture... Very intriguing.

Palazzo is something of a rarity for me - an extraordinary perfume I could wear every day. I found it hard to isolate the notes and that's a good thing. Sometimes I want a perfume to be an entirety in itself, not a procession of guessable ingredients.

The bottle is a curious rendering of a baroque italian palazzo, heavy and a little strange. It doesn't suit the perfume which is neither heavy or strange! Palazzo makes me feel like a modern European beauty, vivacious and elegant, the smiling princeza, the chic contessa who never has to try too hard because captivation is who she is.

Time to forget my other perfume plans and buy a bottle of this asap!

This is gorgeous scent. Smells expensive and stands out. Woody notes are present at the beginning. I'd personally would like to wear it in winter, because it's really warming. Luxurious woody scent it is. So demanding it requires a dress code, like black tie.
Unfortunately it can cause headache, so for me it's occasions only.
About champagne... nooo... it's not sour, but idea is close.
Why does it have to be discontinued? I think for this reason I'll get the 3.4 oz bottle. T_T

Palazzo! It's got Pizazz, so pop open the champagne but don't drink it wear it! This effervescent scent is the Dom Perignon of perfumes. Both jeca and scarlett5stam are right on the money about this one, it's champagne all the way! It's sparkling, bubbly, smells expensive and is one of a kind. The pink pepper in itself will make you feel the effects of happiness just like your first glass of champagne. The feminine floral heart renders the pure essence of a woman with fine taste with it's two roses, the Bulgarian and the Turkish. The warmth of the base withs its three cozy wood notes, specifically the guaiac wood with it's tea rose scent will enhance your mood to no end. The only intoxication you will feel is pure bliss. This is a great evening scent because of it's strength, but less is more, so apply sparingly. The elaborate golden 17Th century style bottle is well designed to hold this unique cocktail of notes. This Fendi masterwork is a fragrance to experience, a serious staple in my perfume wardrobe.

I have a sample of the EDP. It goes on quite strong (must be the patchouli), but the drydown is just lovely; upscale, assertive, warm, and graciously extroverted. It is *definitely* a colder weather fragrance, and for evenings, rather than daytime/work use. I agree with jeca's "gold and champagne" analogy.
I want to add -- this scent is the impeccably stylish and sophisticated hostess at the VIP party raising a champagne toast to her guests. Not a romantic fragrance, unfortunately -- my female friends LOVE it, but it's gone ignored by men. Lasting power is EXCELLENT.

It could be a sibling of Donna Karan's Gold; not in exact notes, but in spirit.

It reminds me of Insolence, not much by the notes (though they have the orange blossom note in common) but the character itself and I want it to take over when I am short of the Insolence bottle. There is the same bright independent essence, it is not for the faint-hearted, you have no choice but smell of a challenge: "catch me if you can..." The scent is provocative and gives a hint to some status as well as Insolence with all that it implies....

I have the edp version and thought I was not going to like this at first because it reminded me of Avon's Skin So Soft (original formula) initially. But I agree with others that as time goes on it is strangely captivating. It really is different than Avon's SSS. It is very rich, warm, comforting, even nostalgic, I think from the woodsy notes, but at the same time energetic and intense, from the peppery and fruity notes. A wonderful and very different combination! It was created to capture the spirit of Rome and I think it pulls this off very well as I do think of Rome when I was there with beautifully sunlit architecture, sipping capuccino at an quaint outdoor cafe with my husband all the while noticing an alluring mediterranean sort of aroma. Enchanting!

It is soapy on my skin but there is something underneath it that is so captivating. It's feminine and interesting is a great word for this scent...There is something clean and sexy about it that make you want to keep smelling it. I really like this one alot-I'm a fan of Fendi perfumes in general, but I find this one to be very lovely.

strange one, find it too sour, flowers not so distinguished, I guess, for me it smells like white stationary glue with lemon..

I got this perfume as a present. I'm wearing it only to show to make the buyer happy but I find this perfume quite average. It's too sweet for me and not floral at all... it's kind of like a slightly soapy orange juice. Because it's so orange-y I cannot detect the rose... It is very long lasting though and a bottle is nice too!

I must have it, it is one of the most interesting modern fragrances for me at the moment ;o)
