This is makes me think of Annie Potts' character in Pretty in Pink swanning around her apartment, wearing a powder pink vintage 50s prom dress and a black Schott Perfecto leather jacket.

I don't get sour cherry really. It's more of a black cherry tart made with almond flour. The leather is a soft slightly waxy texture. The rose is a pink rose, a bit powdery. The black tea note is that of a iced black tea boba with "less sugar." It has great lasting power and projection despite all the notes coming off in a subtle way.

On my "like" scale of 1>5, this is a 4.

qwertygluip

at first it's maraschino cherry, executed in a dark way. after some time, a clean quality develops on my skin, surrounded by these sweet and dark accords.

Schondis

I had LPRN awhile back and used up the whole bottle. Black Perfecto definitely reminds me of it. The leather is quite subtle, kind of like wearing a quality leather jacket, you know the scent is there but it's not in any way an aggressive animalic note. The cherry is lovely, not sure about it being sour but it's so pleasant! As for Lolita Lempicka comparison, I'm not so sure. I have and love both and I think Lolita has a lot more liquorice, characteristic violets and is sweeter too. To me, this one seems more versatile though. I might try layering them to create a beast😈

sadiyam

soapy black orchid lite. i don’t get any cherry.

Blossomlove

I think this is the only perfume I like with a leather note in it. This is not my favorite LPRN flanker. I got a 30mL bottle dirt cheap, like $28 from walmart.com so I'm not mad about it but I've never worn it. It's definitely a night time fragrance. I get winters, I get nights. The dry down is better than the opening for sure. If I wasn't on a quest to get as many flankers of LPRN as I can, I wouldn't have bought it. I wouldn't pay too much for this flanker. It's just a like for me. Looking at the notes, I think I would have rather gotten the EDT version. It looks more wearable and appealing than the EDP version does. I have 4 bottle from this line and my next will be the new intense. Then the rose rose rose or rose cherry one.

rene.saller

I love La Petite Robe Noire Black Perfecto and its hilariously long and redundant name, even though I think there are way too many flankers of Guerlain fragrances (or any other popular fragrance, by any other house). That said, this is magical, and surprisingly affordable for a Guerlain--the bottle is just as pretty, if not prettier, than my other Guerlain bouchon coeur bottles (because it's black and opaque), and I spent no more on a new 50-ml bottle from a trusted discounter's site than I have spent on inferior juice from inferior houses. The only minor drawback is that my husband wasn't nuts about it on a test strip--I think it might have been the assertive patchouli in the opening, which dies down markedly as the other notes emerge--but I think he'll feel differently about it on skin. When I saw comparisons to Lolita Lempicka, I got a little nervous because I own Lolitaland by LL and find the anise or licorice note a bit oppressive in that context--but LPRNBP is not really like that. It reminds me more of Lost Cherry, at least at the beginning, before it morphs into a beautiful cherry-rose-marzipan-leather chimera. There is a moment in the drydown while the cherry is transforming into the rose where LPRNBP even reminds me of my precious Nahéma, although the fragrances aren't that much alike otherwise. Guerlain, much like God and Dolly Parton, don't make no trash.

I hope Guerlain doesn't discontinue this flanker (I haven't even tried the first La Petite Robe Noire). I wish there were a Guerlain store (rather than a mere counter at a department store) nearby so that I could sweet-talk the staff to send me home with samples of everything. Then I would probably beg them for a job so I could get an employee discount, and eventually my soul would be owned by the company store. I suppose it's probably for the best that I remain in my cow-town, hours and hours away from the land of Guerlain.

Moonshine_Strawberries

This is a more mature version of Lolita Limpicka. I may have ended up with this instead of I’d smelled them side by side a long time ago. I would highly recommend either one. They’re absolutely brilliant, unique, and such a pleasure to wear. Lolita Limpicka for someone in their 20’s or younger, or this for anyone older than that.

Jewelled Lip over Cherry-Chapstick & Black Roses...

Opens with a Cherry-Chapstick cherry with rose & leather swelling through. There's a sugar-crystal texture in the opening that reminds me of a jewelled lip over Cherry-Chapstick, but almond & licorice melt the crystals into an icing sugar, and I agree with raconie below there's a rosewater turkish delight vibe here. It's quite sweet, but the cherries are more Cherry-Chapstick than cherry-pie, while the roses read as black-roses due to the leather & black-tea. The heart & basenotes take the Cherry-Chapstick vibe to new heights & depths, being sweeter and deeper than you thought Cherry Chapstick ought to be, before dropping the Cherry Chapstick vibe in favour of the black-roses. Well into the drydown, the almond-y black-roses start to really project - I love this stage - and there are reminders here of Aqua Allegoria Forte Rosa Rossa (likely due to the almond & rose combination). Performance is excellent. This is a nice twist on a cherry-rose scent. It's a love for me. Enjoy!

Kioske

Beautiful spicy, not borring cherry fragrance. Long lasting.

raconie

rose turkish delight, fizzy haribo cherries, rose incense, glacé cherries.

Astrum.Obtutus

This is my going out scent. It's rich sweet woody cherry almond rose scent also long lasting.

Featherblossom

This is definitely my favourite of the LPRN line! It's powdery without being cloying and has a nice blend of cherry and rose that is balanced by the leather accord. There isn't as much cherry as in the OG and the opening isn't screechy like with some other flankers.

It lasts all day (longer if you spray it on clothes) and it's the drydown that I really love. When the powder and rose have taken a bit of a backseat and the leather and liquorice come out more. Sometimes I spray it on my clothes the night before I wear them.

RoseAtDusk

This is a girly, gothic lolita scent. Delicate, charming, and a touch dark. It remains powdery on my skin, with delicious anise and a hint of cherry in the background. This perfume goes well with a strappy black dress and frills. This does smell similar to Lolita Lempicka, but much less cloying. On my skin the sillage is not very strong, however the scent is quite long-lasting and can be enjoyed in close proximity.

AUyliong

Initial notes after spraying is cherry but it's a very different cherry scent from Tom Ford's Lost Cherry, Maison Alhambra's Lovely Cherie and Zara's Cherry Smoothie.

Here the cherry and almond combo is laced with licorice. So you've got anise competing with and sweetening cherry's tartness. It's also pretty powdery. The result is a very artificial smelling cherry scent that briefly went into urinal cake territory a minute in before the powder emerged.

15 mins in, it's basically just cherry scented baby powder. Weird that whenever it gets hit with cold I can smell the sweetened cherry but when it gets hit with heat I only get powder.

55 mins in, the powder has dropped off significantly from just 5 mins prior. The cherry also seems to be going.

1hr 30 mins in the powder is still there but faint. The sweet cherry, surprisingly, is still very detectable. Tom Ford's, Maison Alhambra's and Zara's cherry accords only lasted an hour on me. Guerlain's seem to have staying power.

2 hrs in, there's no more powder. There's still some cherry but it's already giving way to rose. That's a pretty clever decision by Guerlain's in-house perfumer Thierry Wasser because the similarities in scent profile between the licorice sweetened cherry and rose result in making the transition seamless and imperceptible and tricking you into thinking the cherry scent is lasting forever. Bravo.

10 mins later and the transition to rose is complete. It's a sweet yet slightly tart rose.

4 hrs in. So far I haven't gotten any leather or black tea. If they were there, they're hidden deep in the background. I can imagine someone like Dita von Teese wearing this complete with matching cherry red lipstick and a fascination with 1930's cabaret.

Can be worn to work in the morning but works better as an evening scent for going out. This also seems like it would work in any weather.

6 and a half hours in. The intensity of the rose has waned significantly. Otherwise no change. Seems like this frag will end as a rose.

7.5 hrs in the rose is starting to go, giving way to a heavy musk and tonka beans.

8 hrs in, musk slightly scented with rose. Very faint now. I need to have my nose touching the skin to smell it. I think it'll be gone soon.

After 9 hrs it's just about gone.

faevert42

This is my fragrance for concerts and going out to clubs. Im not in my 20s anymore but this scent makes me feel younger and a little bit naughty. It has a dark gothic vibe with enough sweetness to make it really fun to wear. I get a lot of cherry/almond/rose with a beautiful powdery drydown with hints of spicy tonka. The rose note is well blended, and doesn't dominate - it is jammy and nice, not grandma-style at all. A must-have for me.

ANNAFRYS

Nice sensual scent with a fresh Black Tea Rose... nice composition; interesting and not expensive with a pretty Leather in the base. The Powder is hypnotizing.

L0st cherry

I rlly like this one, it smells very powdery and I can point out the rose note very well, which I like but I don't love mostly because of the comments I receive when I wear this fragance "you're smelling like a grandma", and some "are you using a baby fragrance?". People are used to relate the rose note with seniors and the powdered note with babies but I just dislike those comments. I wish this perfume was more fruity, that I could smell the cherry more.

MCW7

Love at first sniff. This is a very dark sweet, syrupy, smoky fragrance. Much darker than the other flankers in this line. if I didn't know better, I would swear there was a bit of tobacco in this. Possibly the leather. The cherry is very heavy in this. I detect, absolutely no powdery aspect in this fragrance, as someone suggested . It is not perfume smelling like the 80s whatsoever. Straight up, well blended cherry dominant scent . I tracked down a five year old bottle of this. absolute perfection. This is very rich has depth . You could only pull this off in a very cold climate. It would be much too cloying in the warmer climate.

Hybrid77

Layer this with L’ Interdit. Gorgeous.

MatchaCat

A very powdery and perfumey sweet scent with a tinge of dark leather. The leather is done well. It is subtle and mysteriously dark. However, the opening cherry note is cloying. It's got that strong sweet floral powdery DNA of perfumes from the 80's and 90's. If the cherry note was more natural and juicy with lightweight florals, this would be a 10 out of 10. In the drydown, the perfumey florals calm down significantly, allowing this scent to shine.

Fantastic. This was a blind buy for me and I have no words to describe how much I love this fragrance.it’s mysterious, it makes me feel powerful when I’m wearing it. IMO it’s not suitable for warm days.

First Impression.

Guerlain, Black Perfecto by La Petite Robe Noire (8B01) was a blind buy for me.

This is the perfume who appreciate Tomford Noir pour Femme will like.
Gourmand with Femme Fatale undertone. I find this unisex in the same manner as Tomford Black Orchid (slightly more unisex than Tomford Noir pour Femme).

When applied, Cherry note mix with Licorice gives impression of Sexy sweetish cherry.
The opening texture is quite gooey. On the Leathery, cooling Powdery blanket
(The blanket is from Black Musk and Patchouli).

As it dried down, it lost it charm as (sour) Cherry note fade away.
Leaving only very mild cherry nuance on skin with Leathery, Powdery blanket.
It is less gooey overtime and transitioning into powdery side.

When it reaches the final mostly it is oriental powdery musk and mild a bit dirty patchouli.

For the persons who looks for TF Lost Cherry alternative.
I don't think this is perfectly it, but you can enjoy in almost same situation.

It's fairy complex and have development overtime.
In the same time, it is easy to understand and quite lovely.

Longevity is very impressive over 9 hours but it become the powdery musk around 3 hours mark, so It is a bit missleading.

I would wear this to the club and feels very sexy.

Score: 8/10 (Top, Middle is 9/10 for me but dry-down is a bit typical).
Longevity: 9 hours
Projection: Moderate and closer to skin, never skinscent.
Classification : Unisex (Femme 70% / Homme 30%)
(I find this one as it is dry down, have cooling musk vibe that use in Femme perfumery intensively.)

Alternative : For person looking for Cherry dominant perfume, please see TomFord Lost Cherry.
=====
Ps. I question rather we have the iris here in the composition (?), the dry down smell similar to Prada L’Homme Intense (EDP) to my nose, will update further.

poodleParty

I've had this for a while, so I feel like I can write a fair review now.

I think this is a quirky (but feminine) scent -- the cherry is very sour, and the leather note makes it very interesting (but totally wearable). It's a fun fragrance for cold weather.

I really dislike the far dry down, which is powdery and lipstick-like (kinda like expired lipstick). This is when I just wash it off and reapply again. I'd say that it doesn't last longer than 2-3 hours on my skin.

I don't wear this often, but I'll never declutter this one, because the bottle is so pretty to look at. 😍

Kinga_

Baby powder.

The scent doesn't match the notes listed.
Extremely powdery with a detectable cherry note. Rose and licorice are overpowering the remaining notes. It smells like thousand other fragrances; a little more on the vintage side.

Kimberly917

March is my favorite month to wear La Petite Robe Noire and her flankers. The first time I ever wore the OG was in March. March is a transitional month. Winter still lingers in the rear view mirror. Early blooming roses have started to set buds. Overall the month is somewhat unsettled and the winds of change blow in both directions. Black Perfecto is a fitting perfume. The top notes sing of cherry and roses with spicy anise and almond tea. The base has been tweaked with more patchouli, the addition of leather and a dark sharp musk. Black Perfecto is neither summer or winter. It is March. It is a black cocktail dress and a leather jacket. Somehow it works.

Morgan45

I have La Petite Robe Noire Legere (Hippie Chic) and this is like that but on steroids. Much stronger, more syrupy and sweet. I don't get a lot of the leather and licorice. I do find this a little medicinal, like cherry cough drops, and a do get the baby wipe comparison a bit, but it's fleeting on me and nothing that defines it. It's intriguing. I like it, but I can't decide if I want to up my travel spray to a full bottle or not. I guess I'd better make up my mind....

joy1

I was so sure I would love it with it's cherry, almond, tea, and tonka bean! I really wanted to love this. But it doesn't work for me. On me it smells medicinal and sickly sweet.

Akesuts

Oh gosh. Not your usual Guerlain fragrance but this is AMAZING! If you love a really naughty cherry this is the one for you. Do not expect to smell like a good girl, or some kind of sweet cherry tart. This is the dark, rich, opulent cherry that you find in liquors. Has a boozy vibe to it. it's dark feminine energy in a bottle. My go to for a night out. Seggsy, naughty, classy at the same time (if that makes sense), Addictive!! So sad it's discontinued. Need to stock up on it.

CeeTee

This is adorable. I can’t see this as dark, in any possible way. I like the other LPRNs, and this isn’t so different from the others. I would wear this to a springtime brunch the same way I would to a biker bar. Another cute little LPRN scent and bottle. I find that, on skin, this adheres like glue with very little lift. I’ll probably use 20 sprays per wear, but I will enjoy it.

Echorich

LPRN Black Perfecto dances around on your skin like a cat poking and prodding at a blanket befor it settles down and settles in. The dark animalic composure makes it a definite unisex scent for me.

Depapi

I’m a male and blind bought this. At first I hated this but…. Now I like it. It lasts and projects well for me which is surprising because my skin eats up scents. Smells like sour cherry in the best way. Pleasant surprise.

isilver12

Starts off very medicinal, maybe the cherry and patchouli coming off strong. After about 10 minutes it settles into a sweet and sticky cherry syrup with a little bit of nuttiness and a tony bit of rose.

menmen

I'm really enjoying this. It's clean and a little soapy but a little dark. It's not super heavy or deep but just a velvety sour cherry. It's a lot more versitile than you'd think.
I don't get much rose to be honest if the rose haters are iffy I would still say you can give this a go.
I haven't had the chance to do a wear test yet but I will update when I do.
EDIT: Had a chance to wear this out, I'm really happy I have this in my collection. It's really cold here but I found this projected nicely the first about 2 hours then it became very intimite but still lingered and I would catch it from time to time i would say it lasted for about 4/5 hours. I'm looking forward to spring and going to the office with this.
ANOTHER EDIT: I'm editing again because I found it very curious this scent gets better and better every time I wear it. I wore it for valentine's day and it was more cherry and more lasting than it was when I wore it the other day! This is to say if you didnt fall inlove with this right away I would say you should try wearing it a few times its definitely worth it giving it a fair trial.

dubdub

This really is gothic madness. Dark, mysterious, and very sexy.

I thought i was smelling something like a leathery textile in the opening but it's the leather-cherry-licorice(creates this sour cherry liquor like scent) tho it really is heavy on the leather(the note i smell the most). It becomes powdery as it dries down with a little bit of rose, it actually has this vintage lipstick-y vibe and on the very dry-down a delicious cherry tonka bean scent.

I got a bnib 2017 bottle and it still smells great and lasts long especially on my skin.

cokeheadcoquette

Opens to cute but spicy licorice & cherry. This perfume would drink tequila, like maybe a spicy paloma. It’s super cunty in the best way. Love the sour cherry.

Dries down and turns a little bit more powdery baby wipe than I would like. Definitely agreeing with these Lolita Lempicka comparisons. It’s a less sparkly, violet-free, more grown up version in my opinion.

This was my first La Petite Robe Noire flanker. I’m excited to try the other versions.

Phoenixpink80

I've been saving this for a special occasion/night out as this is a deep, smoky perfume. Jammy rose, with dark cherries and some smoky spiciness. Very nice!!

rinrinlovesrinrin

the bottle is one of my favorite bottle designs ever. the perfume itself starts sour, but give it time to dry down to its powdery, sweet unisex form. dark rose fragrance with cherry notes and to be honest, this seems more like la petite robe noire intense, and the intense version i feel smells more like it would be la petite robe noire black perfecto.... nevermind, upon smelling again the both, they're named appropriately 😆. this smells almost identical to the original except more dark with hints of leather and patchouli (not even looking at the notes, just going based on smell and i am by no means a notes expert however after having smelled perfume after perfume after perfume, leather and patchouli are easily detectable here) and less powdery but it's still pretty powdery. to me, this smells more masculine but the powdery notes keep it from smelling exclusively like a men's frag. however, this is not a girly or frilly perfume. it's dark and complex, not a safe blind buy, but very appealing to the right audience. this would be perfect for those who do not want the baby powdery type of scent present in lprn but they want something like it with a bit more of an edge. imagine less romantic and flirty, more passionate and sexy. i would not specify this as a rose perfume per se, the spicy notes are quite strong here and it's also quite earthy. i like it but it does not suit me, only the way i dress (most of the times)
😆😡💗🤍

Hannehoney

This is a very cold and mysterious scent. It has the same vibe as Crystal Noir by Versace. It reminds me of a vampire living inside of a castle, a old haunted house or a gothic cathedral. I love it :) One of my favorites.

Dazed_and_confused

On the drydown, smells very similar to Lolita Lempicka. I love that perfume, so I love this one as well. It’s boozy and dark and sweet and interesting. CeeTheAurtist’s description is very accurate.

CeeTheAurtist

Cherry Liqueur dressed up in an expensive but work black leather motto jacket with a dress underneath and Dr. Martens. That’s how I perceive this one. Dresses like a bad b**** buts she’s a softy deep down.

scensitive

Lil Mama Lip Gloss does double-dutch.

Very black cherry opening, back street slobber from some licorice twizzler, and gloss: g l o s s for dayz.

While makeup scents are not scintillating, this is supposed to smell like Cherry Oud by Guerlain also so, that and the little black cardinal ponti bottle some bouchon heart thingy, ok no big whoopi!

New evening wintertime cherry trend rocket in my pocket. So you know it is going to be poppin.

softcell

Let me just add a disclaimer: I've never found a scent that didn't totally overwhelm and disgust me on the opening. There is no exception with Black Perfecto. On my skin, I immediately get hit with sickeningly sweet artificial licorice flanked by an indescribable faux floral that gives a "bathroom air freshener" vibe, an apt descriptor I've seen used for it before. Rose in general is hit-or-miss. I think it's an overused floral and not always the safest option when jasmine is so much more user-friendly.

However, the dry-down is quick and incredibly appetizing. A sweet almond-cherry with the noticeable backdrop of leather. The licorice is still present I find, though it does begin to highlight the presence of other notes lightly. I do not detect any vanilla, which is a good thing for me considering that whenever a vanilla note is present, it's very hard to mix well without letting it overtake the entire scent profile.

This is *not* a luxury Guerlain and it does smell like it, so keep that in mind. I find the La Petite Robe Noire line overall to aim for a more youthful, budget-tight audience. It isn't a sexy-mature scent by any means, but more like a playful-sexy. It's a very good thing that the latter is what I like, as I personally find most "mature" scents to be a bit samey.

I wouldn't say it's entirely a safe blind buy, but I received a 1oz. bottle for around $25, so you really don't have much to lose only IF you like youthful scents.

I'd wear this to a goth or industrial night at the local club.

Frenchghost

Cold&dark fresh fragrance,a beautiful lady with a black leather corset,🍒 cherry liquor in her hand as she winks at her husband Mr vampire-Dracula 🎩in a dark cold castle, its richly cold&fresh&dark 💋 🕷🕸🌹lasts 4hrs total, louder first 2hrs&then skin next 2 hrs then gone 4hrs total, this is different, got a 0.5 spray bottle to test~maybe fb worthy not sure yet.

foreverine

I normally do not like rose notes in fragrances. But this one surprises me.

It’s sweet but far from jammy sweet rose that I have discovered so far because this one has a sour note of cherry. So lovely and opulent.

Also, I normally cannot stand leather. But this one is so subtle. The almond note balances the harshness that I normally find in leather fragrances.

I do also have Rose Cherie from Guerlain private collection. Black Perfecto is definitely the older sister of that one, which I prefer less than Black Perfecto.

Love this one, though it’s a blind buy.

frontpagestory

I really like this, but it's a definite statement. It fills the room almost instantly.

It smells like textiles/actual material - mostly leather, but also a bit of cozy cashmere. The cherry isn't as potent as I wanted - there's little "sour" in this cherry, honestly.

But it's interesting. Don't blind-buy; test this one.

XeniaKoneva

I was under impression that this version of LPRN will have a stronger cherry in it. Usually, I'm somewhat indifferent to cherries in fragrances, but I had a craving for one all of a sudden. I do get cherry here, but a very lipstick-y cherry, with almonds. It is not cloying, the sweetness is rather pleasant here. I like that. The leather note is strong.
It was a blind buy, and I probably would have given it a miss if I had tested it in real life. Reasons are simply because the cherry is not sour enough, and I'm not crazy about this lipstick-like base many Guerlain scents have. A lovely fragrance with great longevity.

Gyps

Nice. Modern. Could be stronger.

Edit: I’ve come back to this and I’m liking the whole composition, from first spray to dry down. However, it’s still not long lasting and sits close to the skin. If only it was stronger, as I really like the notes and it’s blended well.

KarolaFragrance

Licorice-heavy scent with supporting notes of cherry, leather and some almonds. Nice and deep but stays rather close to your skin. If you like sth more original but still inoffensive for everyday, this one might be a good candidate. More suitable for colder weather.

Longevity around 4 hours on the skin

candi_n_spice

I really like this. Someone was selling some of their samples online, and since it was flat rate shipping, I looked up the notes and reviews for everything they had, to add to the 3 I knew I wanted (Black Opium and two of its flankers). Only ended up wanting two more, and one was this beauty!

I can pretty much smell all the listed notes, with the cherry being dominant. I'm definitely also getting a good amount of licorice, tonka, leather, and patchouli. I love perfumes that juxtapose opposites, like having traditionally feminine and masculine notes, sweet and spicy, innocent and naughty, light and dark. This one definitely does that. It is quite sweet, somewhat gourmand, but also a bit sexy, a bit dark. I often dislike cherry frags, but this one is well done.

There is something about it that smells slightly soapy or powdery, perfumey, which isn't always my thing, but the gourmand notes save it for me. I was also quite thrilled to see how inexpensive it would be to get a full bottle. However, when I asked my husband's opinion, he wasn't crazy about it. Said it smelled sort of like talc, by which I think he meant powdery. I assume that's from the tonka? I wear a lot of frags with tonka, though, so idk. It's the soapy aspect that I'm less into, but it's not that bad. I was kind of surprised by his take, because to me, the cherry and other yummy stuff are more prominent, and normally we both love gourmands. So, maybe it's not a safe blind buy, but I do think it's quite beautiful, and something different, which is nice in a world of generic fruity florals. Gorgeous in cool weather, but would probably work any time.

I whish Black Perfecto had more oumph in it. Very teen and very tame on me. Was expecting smokey like Shalimar cologne, but on me there is only tart cherry dipped in licorice frosting, with just a hint of leather jacket. Quite similar to Lolita Lempicka, as others have remarked, but more faint and less gourmand. The almond note is not to be detected, sadly, and not the black tea or tonka bean either. How great this could have been, judging from the notes, but how sad it turned out so mainstream on my skin. Cold and light instead of warm and heavy. I will keep trying, maybe it will change with the weather. The review is for a 2017 bottle (according to the batch code checker).

Edit:
I ended up selling this and instead bought a small 30 ml bottle of the EdT Florale, which on me is more complex, sophisticated, and "clean". Funny enough, I soon started to miss the deeper and simpler EdP, and had to buy a small 30 ml bottle of that too (again). Now I alternate between both, getting the calmer rosey version of the EdT as well as the straight forward cherry-licorice fun of the EdP (which really does come out better in colder weather).

sopelka

This is better than the original, IMO. Not exactly a gourmand, but approaching that territory. The tart 🍒 and black tea combo make it nostalgic and familiar for me, we had cherry preserves in abundance at home in Ukraine, and black tea was a staple. I don’t sense any licorice, and leather and almonds are very subtle. A young scent, but not too trendy or immature. Easy wear for any occasion and season.

Lingonberry

The first thing that came to my mind when I sprayed it on for the first time, is that it is like the little sister of Dior's Midnight Poison. It is a cold rosey scent ladened with patchouli, and then we have the addition of cherry and musk. I find this bright and fruity, the cherry note is lovely and it would have been lovely to be able to smell the licorice too.

It has little sillage, and dries down to the basenotes way to quickly on me. By then I can only smell patchouli and nothing else. I love patchouli, but it feels like I have been robbed of the perfume.

I thought the note profile would suit me, the flacon looks so beautiful and I'm an avid Guerlain fan, but I'm not sure I like it at all. It is my second day now of wearing it and if there was any love, I should have felt it already.

SuzyVP

Right after spraying: Ooooo she’s spicy!

5 minutes in: all I smell is licorice… I don’t know if I like this. Reminds me of Haribo yo-you’d

15 minutes later: Cherry, floral with a little bit of leather and the licorice is still there, but way in the back. I think I might like this.

Dry down: Warm, cozy, slightly sexy leathery floral with a hint of cherry. A little powdery, but just right. Yep! She’s a keeper! Solid LIKE, bordering on love.

Kotikina

Gorgeous. I get very potent tart cherry, then beautiful oily rose, then some leather (not that much), black tea, a tiny bit of well incorporated licorice and the almond is here, but very subtle - not a sweet/bitter, just slightly powdery. Also a lot of dark musk - reminded me of Narciso Rodrigues musc noir rose.
I would not call it a very vampy scent or noir per se, but if there is a thing such as 'cute and sweet vamp' then this is this the one. It is very flirty and very feminine. I would say it is suitable for all seasons.

Thatbwoy

Cherry, Rose and Leather, this is a great scent and though it’s not a unisex fragrance I think anyone can enjoy this.

This makes me think of Joan Jett in The Runaways, effortlessly cool

7.5/10

smellworthy

Absolutely beautiful scent. The cherry note is very dominant with the licorice, almond, and leather right behind it, almost reminds me of cherry coke. Super sweet but not in a sickly or cloying way, its just so sultry and dark and I can't wait to bust it out with my leather jackets this fall. Also pretty unisex imo, I think masculine folks can pull it off just fine. Solid love for me.
After wearing some more I'm getting a lot more rose now, but its a jammy sweet rose. Rose notes are hit or miss for me but I still love it

scented_thoughts

Blind bought this after reading some reviews.

Definitely a more "feminine" scent in 2022 still due to the rose, but I find it can be unisex.

Key Accords throughout: subtle candy sweet (not overpowering), aromatic, sourish cherry, rose petals, slight musk/powdery dry down

All blended beautifully, with nice complexity.

Sillage and Projection: great! not loud, but strong, several hours, within arms reach
Longevity: lasts all day as a skin scent for sure

A great unisex/feminine scent to change it up for me (a dude)!

FYI, something about this makes me sneeze it seems. But a beautiful fragrance nonetheless!

buscheaux

You wouldn't think this little black dress in its little black bottle would be so perfect on a hot and muggy summer day, but it IS! 🖤

A_Ferrera

This fragrance is everything the original is missing, this is daring, seductive, unpredictable, mysterious, intriguing and it's absolutely stunning! ♟

Reminds me of Iracebeth of Crims (Red Queen from Alice in Wonderland), it just seems like something she would have on her vanity - the inverted heart shape cap evokes this vision.

swedishmilk15

The first spray of this before it settles briefly smells like Mitsouko to me EVERY TIME! I love this gorgeous scent more than I ever thought I would. I love to layer it over Diamonds and Rubies, too. They're sweet almond rose scents that complement each other well. The Bouchon Coeur bottle in all black is also so awesome to look at on my dresser 🖤

Pilikins

I got this today and it is a great winter version of the original LBD. It has more licorice, and is definitely a leather perfume. I was hoping for more almond but it’s licorice and cherry which dominate the opening. It’s a bit too sweet for me at the beginning but the leather and patchouli combo come in and ground the whole thing after about 30 mins. This is where things really start to happen - I love the smooth dark notes as we reach the middle and dry down. I have two wishes though - more rose and greater longevity- it only lasts about 4-6 hours. The later part is like a lighter version of Rose Noir by Gallagher.

matmeohoang

I absolutely love this perfume, especially the dry down. Sadly I could only find a bottle which was made almost 5 years ago, so the scent doesn't last long.

melanie mother or foxes

I absolutely adore this scent. Its sweet, spicy, smokey and somewhat sexy. Its ideal for the cooler months and packs a punch .
Its not for the faint hearted as it will get you noticed but it is a compliment getter.
I heard rumors of its discontinuation so I've ordered a back up bottle. Gothic sexyness at its best.

swedishmilk15

Bought this for my sister's birthday; I think it will suit her goth little black heart perfectly. Will update once we sniff!

Update: love it. Suede, cherry, almond, patchouli. Reminds me a lot of Diamonds & Rubies, like an early 90s Grojsman, and that is a good thing. Just throw in a few masculine accords to make it modern. Hug me in my leather jacket!

P.S. I ended up buying a bottle for myself, too. This stuff is yummy! I can't wait to wear it in the fall and winter.

justalicesan

I saw a review somewhere saying this was for a bada** woman like Gemma Teller. Could not agree more. Leather, cherry, tea and spice. Packs a punch. Lasts a long time, and projects. It’s not quite right for me, so if anyone wants my bottle, do get in touch.

Tarine

I watched YouTube and I have been so interestead in this perfume for a long time. I tried it today.

The beginning smelled a bit similar to my favorite coco noir from Chanel because of spiciness. Then, the scent became like a dark cherry with lipstick scent in my image. It’s so elegant and cool. I felt something unique, so I referred its scent pyramid. By looking at it, I realized that this uniqueness might come from a blend of cherry and tea scent.

A lady who wears a black dress and put dark colored cherry lipstick came up to my mind haha.

It lasted around 4 hrs on my skin. The dry down is so cozy. Mysterious and sophisticated perfume . I Would love to buy it !!

brokesta911

Guerlain Black Perfecto by La Petite Robe Noire (2017) - cherry tonka - My favorite version of the #thierrywasser creation. Tart cherries, Creamy Almonds is combined with a Rose-Patchouli accord. Definitely the Rose and Cherry start the journey. As it dries down, a deeper and universal accord of Leather, Licorice and Tonka bean add depth. Though alienating for its intended younger target market, men and Guerlain loyalists can enjoy this one.

Dracaena

I really like LPRN Black Perfecto. I don't care too much about the opening, a bit old lady for me, but after about 15 minutes it becomes a wonderful powdery cherry with spice background in my skin that I don't identify as old lady at all. In my skin, and to my untrained nose, it is mainly rose and something that feels like inciense, with a bit of liquorish and cherry. At this stage I can't stop smelling my skin for the next few hours.

Not sweet at all in my skin, rather smoky rose with some spice. Very feminine. Longevity is moderate to long.

camilllemaupin

Today she came by mail and the waiting was well worth. She is absolutely gorgeous, sexy, well blended and she tells a story like all Guerlain perfumes. She is changing every now and then. The first time that i've meet her she was ripe cherries then they married with almonds and now I smell smokey roses too. It was a blind buy and she totally worth it.

Zae

Oh guerlain....u know how to blend notes beautifully.. good job this one smell smokey sweet rose n sour cherry scent... mysterious!!!
This is my ideal go-to winter fragrance.

AnaCristian

I'm very sad this is discontinued, it's a wonderful fragrance. In the beginning you can smell the leathery aspect, which covers the sweetness of the licorice and its particular bittery taste, and deep down you can sense the Guerlain rose - that powdery unique rose which for me (I just hate the smell of roses) smells like a delicate beauty. Last hours on the skin are dedicated to a sweet cherry that shines alone.
I crave this in the middle of the summer heat, it's just that good, but definitely it's a fall and winter smell which will make you feel like a femme fatale. It will cover you in elegance and greatness, in a very unique way.

villiruusut

I'm a fan of the original LPRN EDP but was never much of a follower of perfumes. I've recently wandered down a rabbit hole while trying to figure out a perfume scent profile that works for me. Although I have seen some reviews saying that Black Perfecto and the original EDP are pretty similar, I was very curious about the leather and incense note in BP. I wasn't very willing to commit to a whole bottle of it just in case it smelt too much like the original, but none of physical stores in where I live carried it and was sad to find out that it had discontinued. It stayed on my mind while I explored other scents and eventually found a tester bottle sold online at a very discounted price. BP appears to open very similarly to the original LPRN EDP but with an added embrace of a leather jacket. As it dries down, I catch whiffs of the cherry and licorice just like the original, but upon sitting with it and pondering over it, a creamier, rosier scent comes through. I'm pretty sure that it's ironic to describe something as soft and edgy at the same time but that is exactly the texture that BP evokes in my mind. I enjoy it very much and wish I'd discovered it before it'd discontinued, so I will be going through this bottle very, very slowly!

jassca99

I wanted a fun, playful, sweet cherry, vanilla fragrance. All I got is an extremely, barely there, sour cherry with overly powdery smoke/incense with bitter sharp leather. This is so cold and gothic, which I should’ve known but reviewers kept leaving out those important details and emphasized how “cherry” this was (sort of how folks kept including Nishane Ani, that’s not predominantly vanilla, in their vanilla lists lol). I tried so hard to make this work but it’s not it for me.

You would also think this scent profile, even though I don’t prefer, would at least have longevity. It doesn’t...but it was really affordable so I'm not that bothered. Layering helps, I bought a TF Lost Cherry travel size to assist and also sometimes layer with a vanilla fragrance. I would’ve rated as a strong dislike if it wasn’t for that. Turned me off from the whole line. I’m not even interested anymore. I think it was mostly the shock and expectations. Also, seeing this is highly similar to Guerlain’s Cherry Oud, tells me everything I need to know. I will still try if I received a small sample for free, but I will not be spending anymore money on this profile.

Yessamin

According to my tester card:

Dressed in her Black Perfecto, La Petite Robe Noire reveals a fragance trail that is more rock than ever. Embroidered with leathery notes, it brings out every side of rose.

To me smells very simillar to Lolita Lempicka.

Eau de parfum florale

Jloveparfum

This perfume is without a doubt a wonderful fragrance, the opening is sexy, I can detect an accord of almonds and sour cherries in an exquisite way, somewhat acidic. Quickly, an exuberant bouquet of exotic and pink flowers reaches my nose, wrapped in a soft and elegant smell of leather, along with that touch of liquorice that gives it aniseed, fresh and sensual nuances. Giving way to a woody and creamy background, all perfectly balanced, making it a mysterious, dark and seductive perfume.

Black Perfecto, it goes perfectly with my leather jacket.
The substantivity on my skin is excellent, trail and diffusion is moderate.
Ideal for autumn-winter.

kkaattjjeess

I don't regret blind buying this as I got it at a very good price, but I am somewhat disappointed as if anything, this is a tamer version of the original, not sexy in any way, shape or form.

Wore it a few times and don't find it intriguing at all, will give it some more chances though.

Hannehoney

This smells like when you hug or kiss someone and that person is wearing a leatherjacket and they have been smoking a cigarette mixed with his cologne :) very sexy fragrance. Perfect for a date ;) I can smell all the notes, I thought this was going to be overpowering, but I dont think it is. I will absolutely buy backups. This will be perfect for fall :) Love it.

GUERLAIN: You need to bring this back!

KateWest

You could easily wear this on a summer evening despite its sweetness. It's a beautifully blended, tart, spicy, slightly powdery, dark cherry floral, and not at all overpowering. The perfume starts out with a blast of spicy, tart cherry which quickly dissipates, leaving lots of room for the powdery rose to come to the front so it doesn't stay gourmand for very long. Would be perfect for a breezy night out in the middle of summer. The sillage and projection aren't very powerful so you won't choke anyone out with this. Would recommend this perfume to women 30+

Longevity 6/10
Projection 7/10
Sillage 6/10
Scent 9/10

Ninalovesclassy

I love how strongly I smell cherries in here, love the sweetness and find it quite sexy. Unfortunately all of the LPRNs smell very weak on me - not more than an hour. Too bad.

Veronika95

I had the original edp for a long time and I still remember how it smelled. It's not a scent you forget. I also remember it being super super strong, and it lingered from my skin like a fairytale ghost. I expected this to be the same scent, just a bit darker with the almond and leather but the same strong, if not even stronger. And I was very disappointed! It's so weak, I won't keep it not even for the bottle, it's not worth it. I can't smell ANYTHING within the hour. And the smell is not darker, it's just robbed of everything I like in the OG, so it's less juicy not in the good way. Huge disappointment for me. I ordered the OG and today she arrived, and its exactly how I remember, even better.

jbsherry

I’ve done a complete 180 on this fragrance!
I blind bought this after watching a YouTuber rave about it. At first I was very disappointed and thought it was a near replica of Lolita Lempika, which I no longer get along with.
However, I left it and came back to it after a few days and now I love it.

A rich, dark, dusty cherry scent grounded by notes of licorice and tea. I do agree that the opening is a medicinal cherry, but this changes into a more realistic cherry.

The rose is there too, but it does not overtake the fragrance, rather it plays nicely in the background. The leather is also there, but ever so slightly and adds depth. I get some powder as well.

Definitely suited for evening wear and I find it to be quite sexy.

pulcinella

This is discontinued, but I was able to find a 100ml bottle for 50€ in a perfume/cosmetics store. It clearly had been there for a long while. There was no tester, but I remembered trying and liking this some years ago, so I bit the bullet.

It’s fun how different noses and body chemistries work. This isn’t that sweet to me. I get the Lolita Lempicka comparisons, but it is not a dupe. This sourer than LL, which is sweeter and has vanilla and praline. There’s a medicinal tinge to BP, especially during the opening notes, but it’s not bad. I actually love this, just wish the licorice was more intense.

I’m not surprised that BP got discontinued, since it’s not really a crowd pleaser. It’s my favorite from the LPRN line (I actually dislike the EDP). Such a shame it lasts for just a few hours!

LittleJxo

This one is similar to Lolita Lempicka but not the same. It has booziness to it and it's darker and sexier.

December97

Love at first sniff.
Such a beautifully dark, moody but sexy cherry fragrance. One who appreciates how fragrance gives off different moods and vibes would appreciate this.

It's best suited at night and you definitely have to wear something somewhat sexy or dark. Its amazing in cold weather and shocked me with it's very good lasting power.

ThePinkRepublic

To keep it simple, it has a cherry cola opening.
A dusty, powdery, sweet leather dry down.
It reminds me a lot of Lolita Lempicka original in the new bottle, except this is a bit darker, lasts longer and projects more.
I love this.

Rosy Ricecooker

An absolute favorite, an abiding love.

I can see myself, eating cherry candy while hiding in the dusty closet where my grandmother kept leather handbags.

I find the whole lprn line very dusty, and this one is king dust--I don't know why, but dusty musty closet smell has been euphoric to me all my life. I love leather smell, too, and cherries are my favorite fruit. This is simply the best flanker to me.

Lavandermilk

The opening is beautiful. The cherry with black tea is everything I didn't know I needed in a fragrance. It works so well rounding out the sharper leather and licorice notes. This fragrance is not for someone who wants to smell like everyone else. Its decently unique without being outrageous, and smells delicious. I would say that it's not meant for a younger person or someone who needs a "safe" scent. It is not anything too crazy tho so I would not be afraid to wear it out to dinner or to gets drinks with my girlfriends.

And as much as I love the opener of this, I can not stand it after it fades away all too fastly revealing rose as the main star of the show. But I am not really a rose lover. Especially not the more floral kind of soapy rose that is in here on my skin. It can be a deal breaker for me. (Although Montale cafe intense is one of my top scents so it just depends)

If you are someone who loves or even just doesn't mind rose then I would give this one a try. It is a darker rose though. When I think of this scent it reminds me of blood red roses and a Victorian gothic aesthetic.

Slickchick81

Sour Cherry with liquorice and leather. Super dark, super sexy. Guerlain rarely let's me down, my favourite perfume house.

Missblue

Cherry liquor addiction

I loved Back Perfecto Florale before I even liked this one. Found it online a couple of weeks ago, thought “oh well, why not? I am really warming up to LPRN line” and the reviews were quite appealing. Guerlain fanatic? Check. Perfume obsessed? Check. Need more cherry in my life? Check. Leather? Check.

Oh, long story short: I love it! It starts like a delicious cherry liquor, turning more light and fruity-powdery as time passes by. I keep reapplying for the alcohol thrill. Addictive. The leather is there to differentiate it from the original LPRN, but it is not heavily featured. There is some red rose involved in the affair, but it doesn’t play the main role like it does in the Florale.

catcat42

I was excited about this but no sweetness on me at all..it's almost nonexistent..very skin smell..I love the nose behind it but this is nothing dark nothing mysterious at all..cough syrup with some powder..disappointed.

Mona708

Imagine a sweeter, less intimidating and leathery Cherry Punk- or Lost Cherry without the baked pie shell accord. That’s what this reminds me of, and at a lower price than either one. The licorice and patchouli complement the sour cherry, tonka bean, and rose well, making for a sweet and cozy winter scent.

amandavolpe

This is a soft cherry baby filled with powdery citrus goodness. There is a hint, only a hint of leather. Black Perfecto is as dark as a preppy teen girl sucking on a lollipop and wearing her boyfriend’s leather jacket after making out with him in his car.

golbraykh

the leather in this made me nervous, but i actually really like black perfecto! it’s cherry without being juvenile and without venturing into cough syrup territory. it’s sweet but not in a sickly way, and it kind of reminds me of a refined cherry cola.

LSAUG

Black perfecto starts off w/ a tart cherry note combined w/ almond but that quickly fades, and this becomes a leathery, sweet musky rose perfume. Very powdery soapy damask rose in this one. I am loving the black musk in this. It gives a darkness to the fragrance, but it isn't skull and crossbones dark, just a rose w/ an edge. If you are looking for a cherry fragrance Black Perfecto isn't it. It is more of a musky, leather rose perfume. Leans feminine but a man who loves roses can wear this. I bought a 1/2 ounce mini to give it a try, but I will be buying a bigger bottle. If you like rose this is a nice slightly darker take on a musky rose.

Edit: 1/27/22 It is weird, but I am wearing this today and the cherry is coming through. The 1st time I wore it and tested it all I got was rose. The perfume must have settled in shipment. We have been having a lot of cold weather in the east right now and I think that has affected the perfume during shipment. I will have to let perfumes settle for 24 hours before testing from now on. There is still lots of rose, but this is a huge cherry fragrance. I am really liking it and glad because cherry was what I originally bought this for.

erika.isme.98

1/5 Disappointing for sure.

I was pretty excited to sample this based on the main accords but I think the inclusion of licorice and rose ruined this for me, making it too syrupy.

Definitely prefer the smell of Lost Cherry by Tom Ford but both are overpriced!

singlehandedbeauty

A classy, slightly sexy cherry almond fragrance with a lot of beautiful notes to enhance and support the composition. I love the Guerlain L'homme Ideal range because of its dedication to cherry and almond notes but wanted something a bit more feminine while being somewhat bolder than La Petite Robe Noir. This is pretty close to what I was hoping for except that the longevity is not what it should be for a Guerlain fragrance. Still, I'll take what I can get and I'm happy to have a 100 ml bottle of this in my collection.

elocciN_Rantula

I was extremely excited to get this fragrance. It popped up in my YouTube feed, after watching a review on another scent. When I saw this review, I said I HAVE TO TRY THIS. I came here and saw the notes in it and read a few reviews and decided to pull the trigger on not just a bottle, or a sample, no. But a 100ml, because I found one for $23!
I put this on and the first thing (pretty much the ONLY thing) I get is roses. Namely, the Tea Rose perfume, called Tea Rose, that I wore in high school.
For me, the other notes, are lost for the roses. On the dry down, all I got was something that smelled like hairspray.
I didn't get this "bad girl, in a leather jacket" vibe, at all.
I got more of a King of The Hill, LuAnn Platter doing hair at the Arlen Beauty Academy.

The hairspray note I detect, isn't even expensive hairspray, but the cheap stuff beauty schools use. If your idea of a bad girl, is a cartoon girl (voiced by the inimitable Brittany Murphy,) who loves rocking a sports bra and biker shorts everywhere she goes, then this is your scent.
I'm just totally disappointed. I wish I could smell what others are smelling. Unfortunately, I can't even pick out the most prominent notes, for all the rose in it!! I wanted so badly, to like this scent. I have put it in that section of my perfume closet that is "REVISIT AT A LATER DATE" because some of my favorite scents, I've ended up liking once I put them away for a while. Which leads me to believe, not all fragrances are as well macerated as they should be.
Then again, I think a fragrance doesn't really come to life, until the atomizer is put to work, dispensing the juice inside.
Scent truly needs that bit of oxygen to enter the bottle,to meld every thing into a cohesive masterpiece.
Anything fragranced,
has a period of time where it needs to sit and let the notes get familiar with each other, making the notes meld into the scent it is intended to become. Soap, candles, wax melts, essential oil blends, homemade room sprays-all need this time, beyond what the manufacturer suggests. Especially when it comes to wax. I let my wax cure for a good month before I put it in the melter and it performs so much better.
I'm starting to feel like many fragrances are like this as well.
I'm not saying large fragrance houses are sending bottles out without maceration. But once the oxygen enters the bottle, that's when the magic happens!
I got this bottle right after New Year's.
I'm going to put it away until March and see if I can finally detect all the gorgeous, bad girl juiciness everyone else is getting.

miss_aly

Wearing this for the first time today! I'd been wanting a cherry perfume that also has some depth to it. So this seemed to be a good fit for myself. I really enjoy the scent but the projection and longevity seems pretty weak... I sprayed it 3 times this morning, thinking it'd be enough. But I've only been at work a few hours and it's already a skin scent. It's a shame because I love the scent. Just wish it lasted and projected more! I'll try again with more sprays in the future.

shinya8

Little black dress with a leather jacket and boots. This may be the only perfume description that is spot on! For the certain edgy female who is not wanting to be too girly and finds some soothing comfort in the cherry that's almost watery and non-cloying with the distinctive Guerlain DNA. My signature scent! Is it real though it's discontinued?? Trying to get myself a bigger bottle, because sadly its longevity is not that good, but somehow I can still detect at the 5th-hour mark with my body chemistry. I usually have lotion or sunscreen on which helps it stick around longer.

hayali

This flanker is a sweet cherry covered by sweet dust of almonds and licorice, also the leather gives it certain deep that makes it sexy and a little animalic. The bottle is so gorgeous, it reminds me to those ancient vessels that contained mysterious concoctions.

This is sexy, beautiful and a little bit elegant so it's versatile if you use the correct clothes, mood and applications.

blorpkin

You definitely need to be in the right mood to wear this. It's not linear on my skin. The leather is most prominent at first, with the tart cherry supporting it. After a few hours the leather fades and the cherry remains. At this point it smells similar to the original LPRN. I could see this one being super polarizing, so be careful where and when you wear it.

Flavia22

Perfect. Just like the name says.
Sweet cherry with almond and a very slightly leathery touch, just to make it naughtier.

Very sexy fragrance, for a rebel and young spirit. I want a leather jacket, to spray my bottle on it, and then wear it when meeting my boyfriend.

Absolutely love this. It is gourmand, I would literally eat this perfume (haha), although the sweetness in this is very well balanced, it's not that overwhelming sweetness in other female fragrances. This scent is just perfect.

The only thing I would comment is the longevity and projection, which I would've liked to be more lasting. But I generally get a 5 hour longevity and 2 hour sillage, which is also pretty decent.

Great perfume. I love it.

Dragonweengs

I love goth aesthetic, so the bottle is what drew me in. Cold weather scent for me, I do have to be in the mood for it since I don’t like licorice, however I find it to be cool, and romantic. A Valentine’s Day kind of scent.

I pick up the cherry, leather and licorice with an almond background but the combination gives it a bit of a tobacco nuance to me.
I do layer this with other scents and body spray when I want to draw out the almond or the rose. That’s why I preferred this over EDT Florale.

It’s extremely long lasting and projecting without over spraying.

Hojoko46584

It’s a decent fragrance. Not sickeningly sweet or coy. Also not for a leather wearing bad bitch with neck tattoo. It’s clean, rosy, feminine with a bit of cold leathery touch. I did not get much of the cherry, almond or liquorice, which I would love. But overall, it’s a good designer fragrance with a bit of edge. Like a pretty, soft spoken, church girl going to her first lesbian date and deciding she’s gonna wear a leather jacket for the first time.

bizzie_k

A lovely cold weather fragrance. I bought this in summer and knew I had to set it aside for awhile. Now that it’s December and below freezing where I live, I’m enjoying Black Perfecto thoroughly. It was lovely for an outdoor event where I was bundled up in a hat and gloves—I could smell it well and it was warming, sophisticated and even fun.

I get strong boozy cherries and licorice in any weather, but in cold weather the rose blooms beautifully. I appreciate how different this is from anything else in my collection.

Gemini Moon

I've finally found my dream cherry scent. I used to own the original one but it was too sweet & licorice heavy. Thankfully This one is loaded with cherry, the licorice note is bearable . Its exactly what i wanted the original to be .
Its elegant & flirtatious at the same time.
I love this.

M.Golightly

It interesting to read how each of us perceive fragrances. BP for me is a great example of how diverse a fragrance can be, some would feel that BP is gothic and dark, some feel that this fragrance is seductive.

I find this fragrance as flirty and sophisticated. I say this because I have more deep and robust fragrances which makes BP rather light and airy because of it subtle sweetness. I love the deep cherry liquor merging with suede leather of BP which lasts for 8 hours on my skin. This is my Christmas staple because it defines warmth, calm sweetness and cool sophistication. Everything is done perfectly! Nothing is done too much with BP, everything just sits right.

Effortless sexy chic!

What Lolita Lempicka would be if she ever left her fairy forest, moved to the city and started wearing leather exclusively. The subtle sourness of the cherry against the rose and the use of tonka instead of vanilla keeps the sweetness of Black Perfecto restrained and from moving into the realm of tooth-ache inducing sweet fragrances. There is a slightly burnt, molasses, almost smoky smell underlying everything. Animalic as per the main accords? Yeah, no there’s nothing animalic here. Quite unique and a little bit different, I would happily wear this myself - and would be intrigued if I smelled Black Perfecto on a woman.

AA4102

@dianna.raspberry are you by any chance reviewing the Black Perfecto "Florale" version? I barely detect rose on this one, unlike Florale where rose is front and forward. This is mainly cherry-licorice-leather for me.

dianna.raspberry

You HAVE to like rose notes to like this perfume. In the first hour, the rose is insanely overpowering, I can't really smell anything else besides it. After that, I start smelling the sour cherry and licorice that gives the feeling of cherry rum.

It has a dark vibe to it, I'd wear it either to a German nightclub like Berghain or KitKat or while riding my boyfriend's motorcycle. It's not scary at all, I bet people would compliment it all the time. I still have to wear it out and see though.

mangooo

Such a unique and gorgeous scent! The opening is very strong medicinal cherry with hints of licorice that gives way to this dark and intimate dry down that is a sooooo pretty. The medicinal cherry mellows out into a sweet yet tart dark cherry. I was really worried about the leather but it's really subtle and gives it some unique flair.

This is definitely a colder month scent and reminds me of candlelit dinners in an intimate setting. Such a lovely mature and sultry scent. My only complaints are that the longevity (after about 2 hrs I have to really have my arm into my nose to smell it) and sillage is kind of weak, it wears so close to the skin which is such a shame as this scent is definitely a head turner. For some reason out of all of perfumes I've tried, this has the poorest performance on my skin.

Overall in love with this scent! Dark, feminine, and mysterious. Nothing generic about this scent at all.

andrianna.fragrance

sweet airy cherry with licorice, not that "noire" but has an edge to it because of the slight leather added, (the leather isn't dirty just a clean leather).

A little bit sexy, alluring, femine fragrance. A bit of a bad bitch vibe. Fruity airy sweetness without being syrupy or cloying so a little bit more mature smelling, with florals in the background and a calming green tea to balance everything out. Not bold, loud, but will get you noticed. Doesnt smell like every other woman fragrance on the market which I love.

Now you do have to wear this fragrance with confidence, its not on the pretty girly playful side of perfumes.

Sillage- creates a scent bubble around you but wont fill up a room
Longveity- 4-5 hours, 7 at max

lady_ireth264

I did my review and now writing another one as I compare this to LPRN OG.
Finally I understand why I prefer this to the OG, on me, the licorice in BP is very much controlled by the almond unlike in the OG where it's on a killing spree against the other notes.
This perfect tandem makes BP notes so much more savoury reminiscent to Couture.

I enjoy BP top notes of fleeting sweet cherry with fresh tea.
The lovely savoury almond licorice duo in middle notes.
And then afterwards, I can smell the grungy edgy gothic smoky leather.
I wear this when I'm in the mood to be unapologetic and belligerent hahaha.

Oh and I think Black Perfecto develops better on skin than on clothes.

epona1705

Smells like nothing in my perfume wardrobe. Lovely sour cherry note. Love it!

Juspaigeme

It's feminine, elegant and edgy all at the same time. To be honest I’m surprised I even bought it because the leather note was pretty intimidating but it turned out to not be as scary as it sounds! It’s a beautiful cherry-licorice, almond, rose and leather fragrance. Its dark and sweet without being heavy or cloying.

Wiktoriaaaz

Oh yeeesssss babyyy. Cherry goodness, this is strongly grounded with a small nuance of a shampooey vibe. I don’t get the leather, or maybe I don’t know what to look for. But this is very feminine, sweet, delicious.

I mostly pick up cherry, tea, almonds, with a nice dose of patchouli that’s not overwhelming at all. OH and she’s STRONG. Allbeauty stocks this for £24, for the quality of this fragrance, it’s worth every single penny.

larisa16

If you enjoy wearing leather jackets, you will love this perfume. Rose and leather, thats what i smell the most, i don’t smell any cherry. It’s a fall/winter perfume for a badass woman.

LizaJane

I absolutely adore this.

The first spray is a burst of cherry - almond, with a hint of leather (which I LOVE). Once it has settled into the skin, the rose really starts to shine through. The cherry, almond, and leather remain constant throughout the entirety of the fragrance. I don't really pick up on the licorice, but that's fine by me. I'm not really a fan of licorice in fragrances.

This fragrance is lovely. If I were to describe myself as a fragrance, this would be it. My friends and family know me for always rocking a leather jacket in the fall/winter time. I'm dressed in black 90% of the time, and my style is definitely more on the edgy side.

Black Perfecto is sweet, but also a little dark and spicy . . much like myself! A new fall signature, perhaps?

Lilly44

Omg what is this LPRN sorcery?? I've got a sample of the original and I love it so much. Then I saw this one and I was intrigued and scared a bit because of the leather note. Since it's discontinued I had to blind buy 30 ml bottle (together with eau fraiche).
Cherry here is toned down a bit in comparison to original but still prominent and sweet. It is blended to perfection with rose. There is a period while you can smell liquorice too but it's not heavy, it's pleasant and not offputting( i don't like it usually). Almond is not the most detectable note ( I can't distinguish it in original either. For me, I'm on the hunt for that marzipan almond perfume) Leather is not masculine at all, it's soft and seductive. This is intoxicating more elegant version of original. If you are crazy about the original you have to have this too. If original was too girly for you you might still love this but try to sample it first.
This is perfection and I'm on the hunt for bigger bottle since I want to have this for the rest of my life lol.

callmejoejoe

This is you, naked on a newly stretched, reupholstered couch, 1920s leather, lit tobacco on one hand and a glass of gin on the other.

Ybon

Two words. Lolita Lempicka.

UPDATE 8/2/21: I have arrived. Yes!! Absolutely gothic, cold, dark & elegant & I am smitten. I guess I had to develop my senses, so to speak, so that I can GET the deepness, the darkness, the CHERRY/licorice, the cold/gothic fab! Revisited my travel-size today & time for a FULL bottle, dahling!!

jordandeearn

Dark and dreamy, spicy and warm. Starts out something like black forest cake, then settles to a more herbal blend. Long-lasting and lovely. Cute bottle reminds me of Alice in Wonderland.

TabledThoughts

This fragrance is so unique to me that the only way I can think to describe it is thus:
I am walking through an amazing shop filled with incredible antiquities and I pass by one in particular that has an aroma that I can't necessarily pinpoint but, still, it intriques me and I find myself determined to solve it's aromatic mystery. There is a familiarity there but not quite as it is from another time.
I am not saying that LPRNBP smells old or antiquated but the note compilation creates something completed unlike anything I've smelled before.
Black tea with black musk with liquored fruit and leathered licorice.
Yet, for all that, it is subtle.
I am bewitched!
Love the bottle.

Meri23

This Parfume has the same vibe as Juliette has a Gun Midnight Oud atleast to me.
Its more a Rose Leather Parfum then Cherry 😭at first.
As its sattled down first then i get a bit of sweet Cherry but not as acspected

Fragaddict123

The cherry is the star of the show
It’s nice and long lasting
A little vanilla
Didn’t get much patchouli
Overall a beautiful scent

Jacobean Lily

I don't have many pretty, girly perfumes so I grabbed this when I saw it on ebay.
It's delightful. Big blast of cherry-licorice-almond on opening which develops a little rose and tonka bean into the heart, creating a giddy and light-hearted vibe in my morning.
It reminds me of Lolita Lempicka which is the only other pretty, girly perfume I have and which I adore, although it only gets occasional attention from me.
I have a meeting in an hour and I'll be wearing this rather disarming scent, confusing the room with my Black Perfecto light-hearted but leathery-strict vibe.

Distillation:
cherry and almonds
licorice-pretty and bright
while still kicking ass

Tolkashutka

Was hoping for a similar vibe to Cherry Punk (but easier to access than paying $120+ for free international shipping).

I'd rather save my coins and go fb on Cherry Punk--I can't get past the opening of Black Perfecto. The opening is far too medicinal (perhaps the cherry + licorice combo?) for my liking, to the point that I have to scrub if off before I get to experience any leather that I had so hoped for.

To the swap evener list it goes!

Bubbles1964

Cherry and rose cough syrup with a little powder (musk?). Much to my surprise, I like Black Perfecto. There’s a medicinal edge to this, and there’s something here that makes this perfume feel chilly, but it feels like a well made composition. I can also understand the opposing negative views.

I was nervous spraying Black Perfecto, so only applied one short spray. Performance is average, two hours later I can still smell it around me. Not sure if it’s projecting or if anyone else would pick it up.

Black Perfecto is perhaps too sweet for me, but I still enjoyed the sample. I’m filing this in “under consideration”.

Letitlinger

Had this in many carts before finally committing. It smells exactly like cherry tobacco for a hookah pipe, but not dirty or ashy. It has a cool vapour to it in the nose, like cherry vape. I don't really detect leather but I may be only expecting a certain couch/boot kind at the moment. Sure, some black tea at the top. Stays pretty much the same, last about 3ish hours on me. I think like quite a few other people I've seen, I feel a bit ho-hum about it now in the early days of having it but I will keep trying especially as it's getting cooler here now.

if-i-have-one-wish

I don't smell any Cherry at all. More like sour powdery to me.

noircat

Once again I'm not picking up on any licorice note which bums me out tremendously. (What is wrong with my nose). This is way more leathery and rosey and musky than I remembered which is nice! I recently compared it to MB Peony Noir which... yeah, nah, I take that back. I thought they gave off the same "vibe", but this is less sweet and more dark than PN. not similar vibe. Similar vibe no.

middle25

Pay attention to those who say it's similar to Lolita Lempicka. I blind-bought this hoping for something dark and sweet with cherries similar to Lost Cherry or the old Cherry Vanilla from years ago, but this is very reminiscent of some of the Lolita line. They aren't exactly the same but have the shared cherry/licorice/tonka note that stands out.

Frangipanilove

Lots of liquorice on this one - its the main note for me here on top of the cherry. Liquorice and leather. I like liquorice and the heaviness of this, it can become a bit overpowering / numbing over time like heavier scents in general. But there is something really nice, quite sexy about this. I kept thinking it reminds me of something and trying to rack by memory - then realised the original Lolita Lempicka purple apple bottle - this is like the more modern sister. Dry down is lovely powdery cherry.

Tamirah

Just picked this up and thought it would be a great blind buy, since LPRN EDT was such a lucky untested purchase for me. Very happy to have taken the chance. Opens with a cherry almond blast, and I mean blast, with rose quickly joining in, and to me, they do kind of a dance, but not for long. The bones of LPRN are certainly there, but it is darker and thicker. It is a bit "cough syrup" but that's my unimaginative husband talking (and we did joke about how well it would disguise the smell of arsenic.... because I'm an imaginative wife). I know it's quite common to associate things, but it's a matter of perspective, and the cherry and cough syrup or cough drop equivalency is one I don't personally share. Let's call it a little boozy instead. This dissipates fast, at any rate, and only warrants this seeming disclaimer because it is such an instant turn-off for some people. I think it's beautiful.

My favourite part though is when it gets to the deep, black cherry incense phase, smoky and still rosy with a burnt hint of licorice, but more faint leather, which for some people in the reviews is too burnt - I get that, but I love it. Patchouli seems more like a heart note, picking up here but then taking the incense with it as it dries down, and the black tea is nowhere in there for me, and not picking up much tonka, either, which is kind of a drag. But the skin scent is a lovely light cherry candy rose, surprisingly day-friendly and carefree after such a gothic little trip down Medicine Avenue to get to the Head Shop by midnight, LOL. And again, that journey can be very easily reframed as "new car driven by person with a bad cold crashes into a house full of hippies". Just depends what you're into ;)

*For some reason, the bottle and scent remind me of Amy Winehouse, which isn't at all a bad thing - just odd. Maybe I'll listen to some of her music while wearing this in my pyjamas.

I'm getting more new car than motorcycle, but overall I'm very pleased with this perfume, and understand the mixed reviews. Although a wonderful gamble for me, it probably wears very differently on everyone. It's deeply comforting right now as it's Easter Sunday but everything is closed and nobody has plans, and it's freezing rain here today, and there are few opportunities left to wear this before she gets packed away for next late fall & early winter. Trying before buying might be impossible because it is discontinued.

Murmur123123

My latest addition to my Guerlain collection. To me it is a non "typical" Guerlain, but in a good way! It is a sensual and jammy rose fragrance to me, with depth and complexity and gives me the same "vibe" as Serge Luten's La Fille de Berlin (but La Fille de Berlin is sweeter and less deep than Black Perfector). As a normal perfume user with an average nose, I cannot pick up the leather note in it. I will wear this only in the colder months for intimate or social settings.

perfumeshewrote

If I have to describe this perfume in a few words I’d say it smells like: a dry tea bag of black tea or a tea left with a tea bag in for too much time (you know what I mean!), leather and a deep dark cherry-licorice syrup.

It opens with black tea (as I described), a dark and deep cherry-licorice syrup and a light bitter almond in the background giving a powdery-ness. With time, leather and a jammy rose arrives and blend in. The rose it not strong, the leather is strong and feminine.

In the dry down, there’s a balsamic-syrupy feel. Imagine being in an apothecary with syrups, roots, balsams, ointments, leather.

You get dark black tea, cherry syrup, licorice and leather, the reddish one, with rose and almond in the background.

La Petite Robe Noir Black Perfect is a true night scent, a different, intoxicating and balsamic perfume. It’s LPRN meets Black Orchid.

Even if it smells slightly synthetic, it’s something different from the French designer perfumery.

ShoGirl

Cherries dominate (which is what I was after as I love cherries!), but there's definitely also a pinch of rose, and a wee bit of leather and patchouli in the background.

Few hours into the wear time and the creamy almond is also creeping up around me.

I'm a sucker for licorice, and the notes say licorice, but I'm only getting the tiniest suggestion and that might be in my head!

Reminds me a wee bit of Lolita Lempicka, but while I find that overpoweringly sweet, this one is less sugary (still just as fruity) and therefore, for me, a lot more likable and wearable. A real winner of a blind buy; I'm always delighted to find fruity scents that aren't overly sweet and young. Lasts impressively too, and the grown-up sour cherry makes this quite distinct from anything else in my collection.

RossanaJ

I bought this based on reviews! i have la petit robe noir and love it! this on the other hand smells totally sour and dark to me. will try again in winter! right now its not sweet but very green and masculine.! dont like it!

brynandoskarsmam

I bought this as a blind buy using the reviews here and I’m so, so glad that I took a chance.

I’m not a massive fan of sweet or fruity fragrances, give me a bottle filled with Amber, oud or musk and I’m a happy girl but this perfume really surprised me. I like it very much.

It’s a beautiful cherry mixed with enough musk and patchouli to keep it from being overly sweet. Yes, I like it very much.

SharonO

Yes. I’m right there with the cherry cough syrup which settles down into herby leather. I’ve taken to brightening it with Bamboo. Loving that for now

poppyetpear

This is one of the worst blind buys I've ever made. I need to learn to not eff around with fragrances that have licorice. It's so dominant to me and smells synthetic and burnt. Licorice is why I can't stand Lolita Lempicka and Pink Sugar. All I can smell is licorice, which smells like burnt hair to me, in fragrances. This was a big disappointment. I'm actually kinda mad at how much I hate this lol

taylorcake1

I ordered this blindly after hearing good reviews on YouTube. At first I was confused by it, didn’t know when to wear it, or if I even loved it? It took time for me to understand, but now that I do I love her! My nose is still learning how to interpret fragrance.
Definitely ripe dark red cherry, leather jacket, and a voluptuous red rose.
It’s strong, sexy, beautiful.. Dark. Seductive.. Hard to explain. Artistically crafted, definitely unique and not for the faint of heart.
Lasting power is fantastic, 5ish hours on skin and days on clothes.
Sillage is inoffensive but definitely present. If you walk by people will smell you!

This is definitely a cold weather scent to me. Gothic and badass. It definitely fits my wardrobe as I wear mostly black.
I’m so glad I have it and I would repurchase 🖤🥀

LZed

This is for the EDP with the black label. There’s a similar bottle with a white label decorated with a rose and bee but that one’s the EDT version with rosewater and musk but no cherry and is more like baby powder. The black label EDP DEFINITELY has cherry.

The first spray out of a brand new bottle is always a little weird and this one was horrifying cherry cough syrup. I remember thinking: Ugh, I *knew* I didn’t like cherry.

But several more sprays over time and I decided I really did like cherry. I am ambivalent about most fruits but this cherry is well balanced and subtle. Even though the accord list has “sweet” at the top, this isn’t all that sweet. It’s a tart cherry, not the sweet cough candy one I’d feared nor even Nibs candy sweet: more like cherry bourbon alongside salty licorice and leather. No fluttery coy eyelashes on this one; it’s all black eyeliner and attitude. In fact, the cherry combined with almond and leather and patch smells a little bit like gasoline, but in a very good way.

It reminds me of Lolita Lempicka but I like this better because I find LL has a hairspray astringency. LL is also much lighter in comparison. This feels warmer, almost like an incense perfume, and heavier though I wouldn’t call it a heavy scent at all.

The rose is more supportive than apparent to me until the drydown where it shows up as a softer powdery floral with a hint of sweet leather and smoky licorice tea.

Scent - 8/10
Longevity - 7/10
Projection - 7/10
Overall - 8/10

PlanetGrl

I was so excited when I finally got this in the mail. but sadly I don't care for it all. For some reason all I get is the rose and musk which smells surprisingly like baby powder. This is a definite return.

lyrily

I was expecting something dark and sexy from the reviews, but it smells pretty floral soapy to me. More suede than leather. Very pretty fragrance, I enjoy it, just not what I was expecting.

lmnsvgz

Cherry induced amaretto.

Joani_Cheddar

I swear to goodness - i read the reviews and i put the fragrance back on to see if my senses have changed but they have not. This is a nice smelling perfume; smells of tea rose with leather and almond powder but not like makeup powder. This is NOT a jammy rose - nor a seductive rose but a rose from the garden. Picture Joan Jett with leather pants singing I love Rock n Roll while wearing rose perfume.

VelvetTrance

I absolutely adore this and will not be able to say enough good things. It is dark, sweet without being heavy or cloying, and oh-so-beautiful. I definitely get the cherry, the rose and the leather but my favorite thing is I can really smell the black tea which is one of my favorite scents. It has a bit of a vintage vibe but more in an echoes of the past through a modern lens kind of way. I think this is the ultimate goth fragrance. It smells like lost innocence.

Science&Scents

Definitely wait for the dry-down on this beauty!

Once the alcohol leaves, that sweet cherry (liquor to my nose) really blooms. The rose amplifies, almond softens and the leather grounds it. I'm really not a fan of anise or licorice but I truly don't mind it here. I have to really think about it to pick it out. It can be candy-esque but I doubt anyone could mistake this for something juvenile. Despite the leather and patch (and black bottle), this is not terribly heavy. Strong, yes but not thick. It's lighter, clean and a little sharp. That said, I'm not inclined to say it's daytime appropriate (for me)--unless it's a cold fall/winter day; but even then. The leather is no where near what I was expecting--like a treated calfskin leather handbag rather than a conditioned saddle (if that makes sense).

I do like this one (a lot) but I wish it had more body or depth. Maybe a tobacco note or something? It's a rare occasion that I'm satisfied with this on its own. I like it much better with a Killian Back to Black dupe.

zelelipe

This is delicious, instant love! First spray is very alcohol heavy for the first 15 seconds but it goes away completely after then. I can really smell the cherry and it is very grown up and delicious rather than girly or fake smelling. The leather comes through, however it doesn't really smell intense - here it reminds me of the combination of oud and saffron which I love. As a result, this reminds me a tiny bit of Versace Oud Oriental which is another love for me. The rose is very beautiful here, I generally don't love rose unless it is blended well with woody/oud notes.

This is dry and clean but also quite sensual. I would wear this day or night, any time of year other than a very hot summer day. For winter this is gorgeous! It is sweet but not too sweet, and sexy but not too sexy. I think you could get away with this for work as long as you don't overspray. It is quite strong but not a beast. Definitely projects and you don't need too much. I picked up a small bottle for very cheap so it was a bargain. I hope this hasn't been discontinued. The bottle and packaging are really lovely as well.

AnaisLouLou

Elegant, leather, rose and cherry fragrance. Needs to be tried on the skin and not on the blotter. On the blotter, it smells harsh and full of alcohol. On the skin, it's magical. It doesn't have a heavy base of woods, patchouli or musk. Those ingredients are super light. This perfume smells like the slim, vegan, hip, leather wearing sister of Hypnotic Poison EDP's gourmand, messy lushessness who went to the ball.

Never in 1,000 years, would I have thought that I would enjoy cherry and anise in a perfume. Can easily see myself finishing my 50ml bottle. Luckily, I have bought Legere (Hippy Chic) and Couture too.

MahaS

I got this in the mail about one hour ago. I own the EDT, the intense and Fraiche. I was so excited to get it, I sprayed it on twice on the same spot and walked towards my boyfriend and asked: What do you think? He was repulsed. he told me NO get rid of it. I did smell something off in it, I could smell the cherry and I am not sure if it was the licorice or the tea but something was off. I came back to the room sad that it was a failed blind buy, and after 30 minutes I went back and said: now smell this one. (the same of course) he said that smells nice. I like it! LOL.

So... at first blast it does have this strange almost dirty smell to it. After it settled I can definitely sense the DNA that I know with a leathery vibe to it. I actually like it a lot.. I can't imagine young girls wearing this, this is a bit more mature but bold at the same time. I do understand where people are coming from when they say it's a leather jacket perfume, this perfume is good on it's own and I think I am going to try to layer it as well. Now.. being completely honest, I think I am going to stop getting more flankers of this because even though the are different, they are pretty similar at least to me. I am keeping this for now since I heard it's discontinued.

Cinnamonpeelerswife

This is wonderfully daring for a modern Guerlain, and my favorite in my cherry collection. It’s the standard by which I have come to measure cherry fragrances.

Its more nuanced than Lost Cherry. There is no moment of Haribos Cherry Gummies in Black perfecto.

It’s more sophisticated than Rahat Loukoum. There’s no grandma in it.

It’s less strident than Louve, which takes cherry-almond in a sort of severe, mama-bear direction.

It’s less demure than LPRN. The leather deepens the fruit in a very metal kind of way.

Black Perfecto is a perfectly fitted pair of leather pants with a big glass of Cherry Heering on top. It’s dark and dangerous and a little bit extra—but just so glorious.

sparklyunicorn

Definitely a very original and unique scent. I really don't have anything similar in my collection. I personally enjoy this scent for nighttime. I don't think the leather in this is scary at all, and the deeper notes are not overbearing. It is an easy wear in my opinion considering that it has these seemingly challenging notes. I think this reflects the high quality of Guerlain perfumes and is a very solid option if you don't want to smell sugary sweet like the original LPRN.

Tigi

Everytime Guerlain creates a new fragrance that I fall in love with, they turn right around and discontinue it. It's almost as though they're afraid the buying public will become TOO happy or something.
I adore Black Perfecto and am glad that I blind-bought the 100 ml as the way it smelled in my head prior to purchase is congruent with the way it actually smells on me. This opens with a dry but ripe cherry-almond liqueur bolstered by a soft, spicy licorice and sweet tonka. Through the dry down it becomes more almond-cookie/ slightly floral: in short, it's gorgeous through every stage of development. Guerlain made a profound error in judgment with the discontinuation of this instant classic.
I find it similar to: Estee Lauder Modern Muse Le Rouge Gloss (also discontinued) and Atelier Silver Iris.

mirrorghost

i primarily get sour cherry, anise, rose and leather at first. the leather is soft, more like a handbag sort of leather than a crisp black leather jacket. the cherry intensifies as the scent wears. this is really interesting, i don't have any similar scents in my collection, so i find this to be intriguing.

frangiris

The cherries are sweet and the tea note is quite present. This perfume lasts long and one spray goes a long way.

CompassionLoveWisdom

Interesting scent, I normally hate fruits in perfumes but this cherry is not syrupy and juicy, instead it is dry one. But when this hit drydown after 2 or 3 hours it reminded me of something. That something is Chanel Coco Mademoiselle, and when I looked up the notes I found that they both share following notes: Rose as a middle note and Patchouli, Musk and Tonka as the base notes. When it comes to drydown take Coco Mademoiselle, replace citrus with cherry and basically you get Black Perfecto. At least that is how this perfume develops on my skin. I never liked Mademoiselle so I am kind of disappointed with this one. Longevity about 6 hours, projection quite satisfying.

den1011

Like the comment below, this one was also a blind buy for me since it was on sale, and I absolutely love it! I didn't love it at first whiff, but it definitely grew on me to the point it is now one of my favorites. It's so sweet yet not overpowering, fresh but not airy (if that makes sense), sort of leathery and musky but in a good way. I feel this "leatherness" it has manages to keep the sweetness and "tartiness" of the sour cherry in balance. It's probably more of a night out scent, but I still wear it during the day because I love the way it makes me feel. It's girly and feminine but with an edge. I think the color of the bottle successfully captures the essence of the juice inside. Except for the other LPRN flankers, I haven't smelled any fragrance like this one. I'm in love with this one. The only downside? Longevity. I usually have a hard time finding a perfume that lasts long (and they usually have vanilla in them) and this one is no exception, lasting roughly 3 hours on me. Still, I feel it smells like me (and not the other way around haha as I've incorporated it into my style, so I will repurchase.

EDIT: I should mention it lasts longer when sprayed on my clothes. Longevity's not great but it improves considerably.

I can't believe this has been discontinued. Guerlain, why???? 😭 Because it's not a crowd pleaser? It's one of the most original scents out there!
I just bought a flask of the edT version to stock up on because it's the only BP I could find.

kdurandisse

This was a blind buy and I’m in love with it! The initial spray is just sweet, no other word to describe it. As it dries down the scent becomes a little more complex. Rich cherry, patchouli, something nutty (or woody? Hard to place). It’s a scent that makes me feel like I have my life together.

Thankfully, I don’t get any leather in this scent (as I tend to find leather can be an overbearing note). This is a very unique scent overall that I wouldn’t suggest anyone to blind buy unless you’re certain of the notes in the perfume. The longevity (8+ hours on me) is great and so is the sillage (spray sparringly).

femmeasis

Oh I Love it! Cherries, strong alcohol (maybe conjac?), dark melted chocolate and then something light and airy on the background. This is only my imagination without looking at the notes. I don't get any leather though. I see myself wearing it to a night out, black dress and a glass with the whiskey on the rocks. It's a pity I don't drink :-)))

The lasting power and projection are serious here. I feel sexy wearing it but my boyfriend says it smells like naphthalene to him. Well, to be fair he only has 5 categories for all perfumes: "naphthalene", "meh" (almost can't feel anything), "sweet-ish", "fresh"(most perfumes) and the best categorie -"mmm, I can feel it". Hahaha, so of course I wear it with great pleasure on the right occasion.

marmalady

I love Guerlain as a rule but the combination of cherry and rose and leather here is like gas station bathroom air freshener. The cherry (which admittedly, seems to be a very hard note to get 'right' in perfumery) is really artificial smelling, as cherry scents pretty much always are. Needless to say this is a no for me.

AmBo

I smell cherry and licorice at first, then a little tea, then a little leather. It's a cold fragrance, as it doesn't invoke coziness so much as moodiness. It doesn't feel like a "me" perfume, but I appreciate that because it's different from most of the sweeter ones in my collection. It does remind me a bit of Lolita Lempicka original EDP. Performance is pretty good.

doriandinu

This does not have berries, it's sour cherries, and by any means does not smell cheap at all!!!! It's a top quality perfume like any other Guerlain standard! It's refined , well blended, and unique. I see fragrantica is full of trolls who want to give themselvs some high value by criticizing a high quality product! Bleahh

Ah now I can smell burnt leather note just before this perfume settles to its drydown.
The drydown is slightly masculine with the leather note added, but still beautiful.
It reminds me of the one time I smelled Shalimar EDP.
But I prefer smooth leather note like in Hermes Kelly Caleche and Rihanna Rogue.

No matter what this perfume is interesting.
===================================================================
My first LPRN is the Couture one. Everything in it is perfect, beautiful opening and heavenly dry down. Then I tried the original EDP and it's just not for me. Smells too sticky and thick sweet.
Now I was browsing duty free and saw this Black Perfecto, of course I had to buy and experience it.
I enjoy very much the cherry licorice smell and the rose afterwards, but the almond note is kinda ruining it for me. It smells rather weird because of it. Thankfully I also like the drydown, can smell warm patchouli mixed in but no leather. I will wear this, it still smells beautiful but not my fave LPRN. That remains Couture.

BostonScentGuy

While all of the LPRN series definitely reads young and mass-market, this version is well-balanced and well composed for such a sweet candy confection. The "Loukhom"-like notes--cherry, almond, heliotrope, coumarin, marzipan--stand out the most, especially cherry. Lest they become too overbearing and treacly, leather and black tea are there to save the day with a deftly used dose of smoke. Beneath it all is musk--it is a smooth and mostly clean musk, though in the far drydown there is somewhat of an herbal or slightly savory shadow to it, an aspect that also elevates it beyond the super young scents it seems to emulate. When I first smelled it, I definitely get the Lolita Lempicka vibe, and I still think that scent feels more original and interesting, but this version of LPRN in particular is a treat to smell, and the slightly herbal/animalic musk, luscious flowers, and creaminess reads very "Guerlain" despite it being a departure from the classics.

Puolanka

Guerlain always smells FANTASTIC on my skin, and this is no exception. One of the few mass produced houses I wear well.

The quintessential Guerlain base is present as a backbone. This is rose and leather. The cherry vanilla that smells like cherry pie in the original LPRN (once I read a review that said Cherry Pie, ruined the original for me) is present here, but doesnt overwhelm or smell gourmande on my skin.

If this were a Little Black Dress, it would be a lace or crushed black velvet slip dress worn under your boyfriend's leather motorcycle jacket. Accessorized with red lipstick and a sophisticated chignon hairstyle...perhaps black silk stockings with a back seam torn in a punk way. Or...if worn to work...knee length pencil dress with gold zipper detail and sky-high heeled booties.

When Prada Amber was reformulated, I started the hunt for a new signature scent. This comes very close for me. Easily wearable all seasons, all times of day, for any woman who is an eclectic mix of styles.

MyMother'sNo5

I am a fiend for 'noire' flankers, and for a very decent price, I purchased this charming bottle in 30ml. In hindsight, I am relieved that I did not invest in a larger version.

This is a credible flanker, not as sickeningly sweet as the original or the intense, offers a sufficiently unique composition, but still has a syrupy fruitiness that links it to the LPRB family. @Amarah described this as a cherry lollipop, and I certainly agree, this resonates with some cherry gummies, which in my opinion, have always been superior to the status quo strawberry Haribos, but I digress. The cherry and liquorice combo could also be interpreted as cough syrupy and medicinal, and to some extent, I may side with this opinion too.

Personally, I would say this smells like getting into an Uber; soft leather seats and a good quality car air freshener. Hence, this fragrance has no refreshing and uplifting qualities unlike say, LPRN Eau Fraiche, in lieu, this is dark, sultry and mysterious, and thus best suited for nighttime F/W.

But after giving this perfume a fair shot, I can conclude that with my skin chemistry, LPRN Black Perfecto, unfortunately, turns quite soapy, powdery (here, cosmetic) and synthetic. Also slightly too heady at times. Just like the inside of that Uber, while great temporarily, stepping outside when you arrive at your destination makes you appreciate the simple and understated pleasure of fresh air. Better so, I don’t want to smell of a cherry-marzipan-liquorice air freshener in a leather seated car, regardless of how masterly blended, and it will take a while for me to remove this association from my palate.

As for performance, moderate at most, which in this case, is not a problem for me. Sillage is quite limited too. And this time, I don’t envy the others for whom this fragrance is beast which can last all night..

autumnrequiem

My wife was able to snag a bottle of this for a low price. Surprising considering this is discontinued.

This is a perfect example of a fragrance to be used with a leather jacket. My wife finds it versatile enough to be used during the day, but this is definitely a night out fragrance.

The notes frequently change and constantly evolve during the longevity which is really interesting, a trait it actually shares with L'Homme Idéal EDP which I also own.

Guerlain perfumes (and this one in particular) are really great price/performance wise versus a fragrance that is double the price and lasts much less, like Chanel Chance Eau Tendre.

Projection is decent (2-3 hours on skin) and overall longevity can be extremely good. I can even smell it on her the next day.

Great fragrance overall, Guerlain seems to be hitting bullseye lately.

Despair

Cherry, almonds and some rose with a generous dose of leather as a backbone. I get a bit of the black tea too. The cherry to me isn't a juicy, fresh one but rather medicinal, which I personally don't mind at all since I adore most takes on cherry. In fact, I would like this to have even MORE of that sexy, tart cherry.

This isn't the number one greatest perfume in the world, but it still is sort of a signature of mine. Why? It's ME, to the core. I'm tattooed and pierced with a wardrobe void of colour, but consider myself "girly" in the way that I like having my makeup and nails done. I think Black Perfecto is just that in a bottle.

Yukio Okumura

It is the beauty that comes from something rough being cut.
On the way out I get a combo of hot, spicy / spicy notes. The note of osmanthus I can feel, maybe it brings that touch a bit attache. Patchouli gives the air of grace at first but comes with a smoky and sweet fog. Also, still on the exit, I can perceive a note of cherry, but little that any with his evolution. In turn, when leather evolves, it is present, giving a soft surrounding aspect. The leather stays until the end of the perfume where there is a perfume with spices + leather.
So it is a well-crafted perfume, although you will notice that it has heavy / dense notes ready to make it opulent aggressive, it does not happen, these notes are very polished and delicate, and the beauty that comes from something raw being polished. I don't feel his floral side. With a little effort on much colder days below 13C I feel a green touch on him, but nothing more.
Note: His sweet and warm touch reminds me of other perfumes we have available on the market.

Forgive me my dear friend, I tried to like Guerlain, I really tried I went through M., J., L'B, R. and defeated I arrived at La petite robe noir ...I thought maybe in a more modern, less oriental spirit, I must confess that I could not even get close to Samsara and Shalimar not even the remixes ones, I would like at least one fragrance. I try the original ichhh sweat till the God, I try the fraiche nooo, I try the plissee...Lord have mercy and in the final I tried this thinking that maybe would be a like the Lady Oscar perfume type...not even close. I expected the cherry and the leather to cut from the sweetness of the rose no, on the contrary they propelled it even harder. It is a heavy, very sweet perfume, La Vie est belle type of sweet hard, drowning, it makes your teeth squeak....not again sorry my friend, sorry Guerlain I wish and I will wait to see a feminist fragment for you one day.

mimircks

Morticia Addams I think would wear this.

That being said, I've waited a while to try this one & I travel-size purchased it & so glad I did. I WANT to love this but all I could smell was gasoline-on-burning rubber. So, I'm back here to read reviews & I'm not smelling almonds, blackberry jam, nor sour cherry anything - which is what I wanted to pick up. I'll give it another try & come back w/my take, but...yeah, a bit annoyed at what I'm getting from this fragrance.

ReWeegh

My favorite one from LPRN line. Unmistakably brings the mother scent, sweet juicy sour cherry, almond and black tea combo, however on me the Black Perfetto is less sweet, deeper, darker, the leather note and hint of patchouli made it much more interesting (and tbh less cloying). Licorice is blended well, rather smells like a spice on the cherry and does not stand out. Strangely I could not detect any rose in any of the stages at all. I liked one of the comments here about the Black Forest cake, which is spot on, imagine the chocolate part the as the darkest dusty pure cocoa :).

Mizz-Coco

There is a juicy tartness that is missing in this fragrance, initially I get a very powdery, medicinal cherry cough syrup vibe that can get nauseating in the heat. I have a feeling layering this with Tresor Midnight Rose might help it perform in a way that I can enjoy but only time will tell. Will try it in the autumn chill and see how it acts then.

courant

I own most of the Guerlain classics, Mitsouko, Le Heure Bleu, Vol de Nuit, Chamade, Shalimar and all the flankers etc. It took me a long time to warm to Black Perfecto, I thought the area had been covered with Jesus del Pozo's 'In Black' and others, but the Guerlain black bottle was irresistible and I became hooked on it.
I like the rose treatment, is there a touch of Nahema in this? I don't want to analyse it really, just enjoy it, so that's what I do. Perhaps the warmest of summer days might exclude its use but we are in winter at the mo-Southern Hemisphere here. I ordered another bottle as a back up.

You know, I've never been a huge fan of Guerlain's take on cherry. I tried to get into the Homme Idéal line, but found it too cloying and synthetic. The original Petite Robe Noire was actually a little better and definitely more nuanced, but still a bit too sweet for me. So, I'd kind of given up...

...until discovering Black Perfecto. This is just perfect for me. The supporting notes I love—the almond, licorice, and rose, primarily—are all amplified, while the sugary "berriness" of those other iterations of Guerlain cherry has been significantly reduced. Most importantly, Black Perfecto has a prominent leather note at its heart. This does indeed feel like a more mature, refined, and rugged take on the original. The classic flacon bouchon cœur in glossy black suits this fragrance perfectly.

Excellent longevity, and decent but not overwhelming projection (à la Homme Idéale EdP). A little more on the casual side, and great for nights out. Perfectly unisex, and very sexy. So glad to have discovered this!

star~kitty

I like this one, too. I think I’m becoming obsessed; this is the second flanker I’ve purchased, along with the original.

You can smell the original EDP here - it’s the foundation. But I get almost a burning ember smell - I guess it’s the leather? It’s like adding salt to caramel; it makes it deeper and richer. I like it a lot.

marymag

I really enjoy this one. Sour cherry & leather with a fresh rose lingering in the background. The patchouli, thankfully, isn’t really noticeable to me until hours later.

I like wearing this in the summer humidity. Something about it wears well in the world right after it rains, perhaps how real to life the leather smells or the tang of the cherry note.

A fruity perfume for people that don’t like fruity perfumes. Sharp and sweet and clean.

NancyQuo

Cherries and more cherries but this is a sour cherry very well balanced with the others notes, this eau de parfum is warm and enveloping perfect for winter time. One of the best LPRN flankers.

Rose Patchouli & Cherry Licorice...

I really like this edition of La Petite Robe Noire. I have tried the original (which is a real modern gourmand classic) yet this I feel goes into the territory of rose-patchouli more than the previous. This fragrance I feel is more balanced overall than the original (although the original is a stand-alone gourmand masterpiece), but that ironically makes Black Perfecto less unique, as rose-patchouli is a very common combination these days and this is nothing new of innovative.

Having said that, Black Perfecto is a very wearable fragrance, maybe more "mainstream" than the original, and this fact still makes it better than many other designer releases out there on the market today. In fact it stands out among a sea of fruity-florals that seem too "sugary" and immature.

I think that Black Perfecto is an excellent choice for many women today and shows that once again, when it comes to the house of Guerlain, although they are in the gourmand game, they would never compromise on character of quality. Whatever Thierry Wasser creates, it is still better than the average designer choice out there in terms of quality, character and uniqueness, and this is what ensures the Guerlain keep it's position in the hearts of so many perfume lovers and aficionados.

StellaKapranos

I was so excited when I saw the ad for Black Perfecto. The girl on the motorcycle, leather jacket, the electric guitar. It was like they made a perfume with my name on it.I really like everything about this perfume. I like cherry, leather and almond in it.It is soft, but in a bold way. It is creamy but leather gives it the edge. The bottle is just fantastic. The only thing that is bad is that on my skin it doesn`t last too long, which is a shame. The best LPRN flanker.

KowltheOwl

This one is pretty close to the original 2009 which was an exclusive but the original 2009 is still the best.

LaSirene3

This was a blind buy and I was looking for a dark sexy fragrance to add to my collection, as I love guerlain I decided to go for Black Perfecto EDP 100ml (because the bottle too will look cool on my vanity).
I just received it & im wearing it right now and I’m so happy with it. I usually hate overtly sweet scents but this is a very surprising one, it starts spicy and sharp with a hint of men’s aftershave cologne which shocked me but nicely within 5 minutes it turns into this powdery mysterious rose mixed with leather which I fell in love with.
The more I leave it, the more I love it. Beautiful dry down and very addictive I can’t stop smelling my wrist.
I definitely see why it’s such a true rock chick fragrance. I’d wear it to a rock concert or a night out in a sexy black dress with a leather jacket on.
I’m in love with it.

SophiaG

The resemblance to the rest of the LPRN line is strong, but Black Perfecto takes the sweet cherry a little further than the original. Still sexy and mysterious, but the combination of almond and tonka make this fragrance even sweeter than the original EDP. I'm sure that for some people, it works spectacularly, but I love the tart cherry note in the EDP that Black Perfecto seems to be missing.
Cherry notes in general make me think of cough syrup, and in this line, BP is certainly the most medicinal, but I can see how that could enhance the edgy, punk vibe that this fragrance puts out.
Definitely suggest sampling this one - I own three others in the line already, but still had a hard time passing this one on to its newest owner.

seamagik

Too sweet. And I get the cherries, almond, even a lot of leather. But it's just too sweet. It could have done with some woods to tone the sweetness down a notch and balance it out. It smells to me like spilled children's cough syrup in a leather handbag. I finally met a Guerlain I'm really disappointed with. I usually like medicinal scents too, but adult medicine maybe. This is too sweet for me.

bug.juice.184

I am really suprised with all this positive feelings about Black Perfecto, it's a very flat, boring, unsexy, dusty in bad way perfume. Dark cherry is undetectable to me, leather as well, it's bitter in unattractive way, only old overcooked black tea bag is dominant from the beggining, and later it develops even more to a something like old kitchen cabinet. If it's not Guerlain, I doubt anyone would notice it.

ekowala7

I'm a big fan of the LPRN line and so far, this is my absolute favourite. This smells like a sweet dark cherry wine or the cherry component in a Black Forest Cake.

I love wearing this with a black leather jacket or a little black dress - very true to the name. For some reason (maybe it's the bottle) I picture this on a dark dark brunette, like me.

You will get compliments, you will get asked what you're wearing and you will always want to smell your wrist.

I love this because it's unique but not so unique that it's strange.

Longevity is 8-10 hours, silage is moderate/high.

Overall: 6/10, my favourite LPRN flanker!

rithacha

LPRN Black Perfecto has an addictive quality, like a catchy pop song. It's beautiful in the predictable ways, but with a twist that's you can't get out of your head. I am genuinely excited to reapply it every morning and listen to it again on a repeated loop.

I smell primarily juicy overripe cherry musk. Supported by rose and a creamy almond. It has a gourmand powdery sensation, like as though lighted dusted with confectioner's sugar. It melts in on my skin and creates this lovely musky trail, like "my skin but better and cherrier". I find cherry to be an unusual note in fragrance, and this one is beguiling!

The fragrance is not nearly as edgy as the advertisement copy might suggest. This is a daytime-everyday perfume for me. If Black Perfecto were a song, I'd consider it more pop/R&B than rock'n roll. If Black Perfecto were a color, I'd say it's more fuchsia than noir. If Black Perfecto were a person, she'd be more the quirky-cool popular kid than the edgy badass.

SallyX

Addictive delicious scent. Got a small 30ml bottle on sale a while ago and saw another good deal online for the larger size so got myself a backup bottle. Now I don't need to worry about using up my smaller one :) I didn't think I was a fan of roses for fear of smelling old fashioned, but this one does that note so well. The tonka bean, cherry and leather notes with the rose elevate it to a mysterious, feminine rock N' roll vibe.

Its just so good!

Very thick, dark and profound. It has a soapy, sort of a fruity shower gel, start that luckily fading away withing an hour. I was hoping for cherry, but all I have got is a rose and leather. Which is not a bad thing, given I love both rose and leather :) The scent does work very well with my skin chemistry, so I am glad with such a new addition to my collection

keiserkarel

I purchased Black Perfecto as a softer alternative for La fille de Berlin by Serge Lutens which sometimes I feel a bit too spicy and aggressive.
Also this is simirlar to French Kiss, Guerlain's another fruity floral fragrance. Black Perfecto is warmer and more syrupy side.

miles178

it has that oldschool rose vibe - definitely feminine

dolcestrega

If anyone is interested -

I have a 95% full bottle of the 1oz size of this (with the box) if anyone wants to swap ...
I'm hoping to try the Intense version!

labonvie

At first I was completely unimpressed by this and I thought it was another blind buy fail. I thought it was monolithic and sweet and utterly unremarkable. Worst of all, I got none of the promised leather. First impressions can be misleading and it turns out I love this.
It does open sweet but the cherry note is an interesting one and there is enough of the Guerlainade to keep it from veering into Bath and Body Works territory. It develops nicely on the skin With a powdery rose blooming supported by sweet almond and Tonka. It is very well blended and it definitely smells like a Guerlain, although updated. Sadly,I don’t get as much leather as I would like. Sporadically, I will get fleeting wafts of suede but it is only barely detectable. It lies fairly close to the skin. I do wish it were bigger and longer lasting (5-6 hours, but my skin devours fragrance). I love this, but it’s not the leather bomb I would have wanted. For me, this is a scent for the in between days when winter gives way to spring. The bottle is fabulous, vintage classic meets rock n roll. Grab this one while you can— I picked this up very cheaply from an online retailer.

Roses and Thyme

The more I’ve worn it the more complex it becomes.

The first few wearings were general “sweet” drying down into a sour cherry. Now, I smell the spices (licorice?), leather jacket, cherries, and roses. It’s actually a much more intriguing scent than I originally thought.

I wish now that I had gotten the largest bottle.

pearlhart

I always get complimented on this. I love the 1oz size bottle, the packaging is nice and suits the scent to me, plus it fits in your bag easily.

As for the smell, I get leather, cherries, and rose. As many have noted, it has that bad girl in a leather jacket vibe.

Sophisticated and interesting, even sexy on the right person.

elledeelee

It's a good rose, and I do really love rose. This one is sweet and a bit jammy, with nice leathery undertones. A little spicy at first, and I do get the almond in it. Sometimes a hint of citrus and blackcurrants, and there is a slight masculine undertone that gives it that black-leather-jacket-wearing rebel girl vibe. But then it turns powdery and more like a classic rose scent and I can't help but think it becomes a bit old fashioned. As dark sexy roses go, it's not really dark or sexy enough throughout, so I'd rather wear Armaf's Club de Nuit Intense.

SarahTheBoss

I'm one of the few who has no experience with the original LPRN. I blind bought this flanker a couple months ago because almond is my absolute favorite note. I've given it plenty of time so that I can confidently say this is one of my best blind buys and one of those scents that creates immediate panic in the heart of a perfume lover, for fear of discontinuation or running out.

It's unbelievably gorgeous. This is dusty almond sour cherry with a slight floral hint. It's deep and addictive. Compulsive wrist sniffing ensues every time I wear it. I bought backups because I'm convinced I cannot ever be without it. I'm in love.
