Mon Guerlain Bloom of Rose by Guerlain is a Floral fragrance for women. Mon Guerlain Bloom of Rose was launched in 2019. Mon Guerlain Bloom of Rose was created by Thierry Wasser and Delphine Jelk. Top notes are Citruses and Lavender; middle notes are Neroli, Bulgarian Rose and Jasmine Sambac; base notes are Tahitian Vanilla and Sandalwood.

In March 2019, Guerlain launches Mon Guerlain Bloom of Rose, a new edition of the contemporary Mon Guerlain line that combines lavender and vanilla notes, and is represented by actress Angelina Jolie.

Bloom of Rose edition represents a call to women to live their lives to the fullest and to enjoy the moment.

The new composition is signed by perfumers Thierry Wasser and Delphine Jelk; created as a delicate and bright floral, joyful, fresh and fruity. The core of the perfume remains consistent with the original - with notes of Carla lavender, Sambac jasmine, vanilla from Tahiti and sandalwood. The new character is added with a combination of Bulgarian rose and neroli.

The fragrance is available as a 30, 50 and 100 ml Eau de Toilette.

The first few minutes are citrusy, but otherwise this is very floral to me. A very generic modern hyperfeminine floral, filled to the brim with rose and jasmine. Pretty, but not for me.

LedumPalustre

Love this! I was looking for a pinkish home spa fragrance that would help me relax and create a calm feeling, f ex before bed. Somehow I imagined that it should include rose, but I did not really like any rose fragrance that I tried, I'm just not into in-your-face floral scents. But this one has only a soft rose note combined with lavender and vanilla, which makes for a calming, soothing, comforting, and yet elegant scent that is almost addictive. A tiny bit goes a long way, it lasts for ca 6 hours. I am sensitive to fragrances and easily get a headache, but I have not had problems with this one (only a little is enough).

[It’s discontinued by the way] I’m a fan of sharper, fresher neroli fragrances and this is a sweeter citrus. It’s not that rosy to my nose, rather an orange blossom and jasmine perfume really, with a hint of vanilla that gives it a creamy sweet accord with the jasmine. Moderate longevity and sillage. Reminds me of an obscure “Jasmine and Neroli” perfume by the London designer Jasper Conran (obscure enough not to be on fragrantica, if you’re in the UK defo try this out if you’re sad about Bloom of Rose being discontinued) This is still available online for about £55 for a 100ml bottle btw for those of you looking for a backup bottle.

Indignatious83

I don't intend to be pejorative or deductive when I say this- but this smells like my grandma's bathroom. I don't mean that it smells "granny" or like toilet spray - but that it smells very specifically like MY grandma's bathroom. A mix of the products she always had lying around for as long as I knew her: the white floral of Sébastien Shaper hairspray, the herbal note of dried toothpaste (the striped turquoise, white and red kind), the powder note of her meticulously organized makeup, the perfume of pink scented toilet paper, and a hint of the random bar soap ends that were alway in her bathtub. I don't hate it - it brings me back to a beloved milwakee bungalow that was sold forever ago - but I usually don't want to smell like it.

arefuthescroob

Very generic rose.

Funny story: I first smelled Mon Guerlain EDP and I absolutely fell in love with it. I took a sample from Sephora and I couldn't open it to make it last forever hahahaha
The dry down reminded me of Nina Ricci Luna that used to be my all time favorite. I was committed to buy one full big bottle of Mon Guerlain for me.
Went to the mall again but to a different store and they gave me a new sample. I tried it again and to my surprise it smelled like plastic. Literally like swimming armbands. I went home without buying it and totally devastated.
Some time passed and now here I am, reading reviews at 3am trying to understand if I'm the only one getting the plasticky scent until I read the "Cons" bellow the Perfumers section: "Sour or plastic notes may be off-putting to some". I scroll up and read the title again: "Mon Guerlain Bloom of Rose"! OMG!! I never felt so relieved! The one I didn't like is the Bloom of Rose version! I'm not crazy!
So, the moral of the story is that if you are planning to by this version, TRY IT FIRST! Don't use the EDP as reference because they are totally different. The EDP, however, you can trust me and buy it blindly. It is absolutely delicious, super equilibrated, and very feminine.
P.S.: I read the reviews of the discontinued EDT version and apparently the plasticky scent problem also happened with the EDT.

I was wondering how to describe the girl wearing this perfume. It would be"Love of my life!". It's so clean, feminine, gorgeous, fresh, uplifting, and elegant. There is no way this perfume would ever be offensive. I have finished a whole 100 ml. bottle in just a few months although I have quite a few other favourite perfumes. It's just so easy to wear.

Raluko111

Awww, this is truly adorable! An easy to wear spring-summer daytime fragrance that is inoffensive and pleasant for an office environment as well. Inoffensive is not to say boring: in the opening, the citrus-lavender combo does this funky thing on my skin, which is to give me hints of a floral toothpaste I've used in Japan. It's so refreshing and sweet, a feminine lavender. Then the white flowers and a quiet little rose blossom come to the forefront. It's playful, fresh, sunny, charming. The sillage, projection, and longevity are quite decent. Easy to love, easy to wear.

Lulushka

Mon Guerlain Bloom of Rose starts out with a fabulous, sweet, vanilla rose that I wish would last forever, or at least the life of the perfume on my skin. Then it’s joined by a kind of grayish-toned tonka bean and lavender accord—basically Mon Guerlain, so I have no clue why Fragrantica’a little AI thumbs up/thumbs down voter thing claims that Bloom of Rose doesn’t resemble its parent perfume. It smells exactly like Mon Guerlain except that it’s cheerful: along with its lovely rose, its lavender smells spicier and its tonka bean doesn’t smell as weirdly grim. Maybe it’s because its very modern, non-indolic but still lovely jasmine perks things up, with its spiciness harmonizing with the lavender accord. Yet the perfume isn’t aggressively floral: its dry down is mostly lavender and tonka, a nice way to pay tribute to Jicky, Guerlain’s first classic. I also get an incense accord toward the end, but this might be the tonka treatment.

babixlily

The opening smells like taking a wet cashmere jumper straight from the laundry machine and shoving your face it in. The citrus and lavender imitate laundry detergent in the best way and a soft subtle vanilla and sandalwood gives it a cozy vibe. Not autumn cosy, but rather cosy under a cashmere sweater on the crisp and cold morning with a subtle vanilla candle lit in the hallway. As it settles, the warmth from the other notes carries through. But at all times it smells like a cold watery citrus floral that is slightly aromatic.

I really enjoy wearing this in the heat as it smells unique and clean but without being aquatic or soapy.

If you're sensitive to white florals like I am, it is only lingering in the background.

Msala140

I’ve only applied this scent once since I just bought it , so I can’t speak too much on it just yet. I have never tried the original MG so I don’t even know how the original DNA smells like or to compare this to.

So far, I think it’s a very pretty scent , it’s light and flowery. Although the name implies rose , it has a very light touch of fresh rose , along with other florals . On my skin I definitely caught the smell of vanilla which is pretty . I live in FL, so I think this is super suitable all year round here and even more perfect during this hot humid time. I would definitely wear this more often to get to know this scent more. It projects like arms length and when walking by, and it probably lasted on my skin like 5 hrs . I’ll have to come back and edit this review after longer use .

Adriennne

agree with Seasky the comment before mine

Seasky

After reading all of these reviews, I’m almost feeling bad about myself for loving this. Yikes….

The original Mon Guerlain EDP just has too much vanilla for my liking. I’m not really into gourmands or florals, Bloom of Rose has just the tiniest bit of rose – which I actually love, but usually gives me a horrible headache — a little lavender, and the freshness that makes it a lovely summer floral for me.

I’ll quietly continue to love this one.

Leah lilly

I didn't know what I disliked so much about this perfume:( At first spritz I smell citrus and also a slight bitterness.Weak in sillage and longevity.
This reminds me of Mon evidence by yves rocher which I do not like.

justcheckinout

On the test strip: the opening is a nice rose scent, but then as the citrus blends in it starts feeling off... The citrus and rose combo somehow gives off a cleaning product vibe here, and the floral notes are also getting more aquatic as the rose note fades away. I get little lavender and no vanilla. Maybe I should test it a few more times.

Stimul

Now this is something wearable, v.2.0. Inoffensive and easy to go, hard to overspray and still excellent performance (at least full working day).
Perfect for Spring/transition season. Yes, it lacks the original DNA and prominent roses in spite of its name but that must be considered an advantage as it's what makes it reachable on daily basis when thermometers break the glass.
Overall a very good example of present days Guerlain and fans should appreciate that -
decent, even regal smell (unlike Petit Robe Noir) with modern twist (for good or bad unlike some classics of the House)
on reasonable price (unlike Allegoria and Mystiques) with satisfactory presence (unlike Allegoria).

Birona

As a lover of Mon Guerlain and after looking at reviews, I thought this would be a slam dunk blind buy as I sought out a fragrance with a hint of rose for Spring. Not what I expected - for me this doesn't resemble MG. It has an almost powdery citrus and floral aroma, and it's more synthetic than I hoped. I can smell the rose a little, but it's over-powered by the other notes. If I were to compare, I'd say MG is soft and cozy while BOR is prickly sweet, neither too strong. I'm going to keep working with it because I really wanted to love it. My solution right now is to layer it with Mon Guerlain to tone it down while making MG more springy.

Update - After trying it for a few months, I'm still meh on this fragrance. I feel like the other notes mess up the lavender, giving it this muddled sweet/floral, baby powder smell. I don't hate it, but I regret buying it. I still wrinkle my nose at it hours after putting it on.

rainydays

Much less vanilla than the original. I still get a bit of the lavender that lends much needed edge and contrast. As for the rose... There's actually not a whole lot of rose? The composition as a whole is pretty, but definitely a powdery muddled floral. The original (one of my favorites) has clearer note structure and is more unique.

albatros

One of the most beautiful rose scents I have ever smelled.

jklovesperfumes

been eyeing on this one too, after I sniffed it from the store and from the paper they insert in your guerlain paper bag after purchase… was torn between edp and edt of this. I have the OG mon guerlain edp, but also craved for this till I found a nice deal for a 100ml bottle… though I don’t find it citrusy and rosy but sweet, vanillic but fresh and kinda so so for days that I don’t wanna project too much scent but still smells elegantly fresh. I believe it’s overpriced for a not too special scent, well it’s the name I know! 😂 Longevity is not that powerful too, I usually spray this after shower before sleep, and could use a different scent the next day If I’d go out… Not bad but nothing special too… but it’s something that can lift your mood up and make you smile and feel fresh on a basic day.

Bella B

I loved the first couple of minutes of this! Beautiful, deep, mature , sophisticated roses. Unfortunately, after 1 h or so it completely transforms into the typical drugstore "cheapest hair / bug spray"...oh why??? How is this possible? I suspect it's the citrus note which my skin chemistry strongly disagrees with. Same with the EDP. Oh well, I'll stick to the Mon Guerlain Intense -my love.

h149

I disliked Bloom of Rose years before, when I first tried it, but coming back after trying Mon Guerlain I think I understand it a lot better. In 2019 I said I would rename it "Whiff of Wedding Cake" for the vanilla I was getting from it, but MG's vanilla punch so utterly obliterates the little fart of vanilla present in BoR that I have to laugh at myself now. It's like comparing apples to oranges - or vanilla to citruses, I guess.

I think what they were trying to do is give the people who AREN'T gourmands a non-gourmand version of MG, and based on the reviews (both positive and negative), I honestly think they achieved that. It's a super fresh rose, still green from the bud, not a cozy rose that's been dipped in vanilla cream. Two very different takes on Guerlain's rose, aimed at different crowds, and both executed well.

ShowMustGoOn

Probably the worst perfume made by Guerlain. Mashed up aromas, old stuffy feel, rose is very unpleasant. Something just doesn’t work here. The original is so much better. Not sure why they released this. No wonder it has been heavily discounted everywhere.

AshBud

I have never smelled the original, so I dont have that to compare it to. However, I blind bought this version at a discount. Given the name, I expected much more rose. Its very citrusy to me, and I do get a slight vanilla. It leans just a bit "cleaner/room spray/car freshener" vibe in that the quality does not match the brand. Maybe it can be saved with layering, but would not buy again.

Chic-girl

I don't like The original MG because of too much vanilla, but this is soo beautiful. And I've had compliments that I smell heavenly. I like this better than BOR edp, and all the other Mon Guerlains. Gourmands are not for me, like I usually like fresh floral fragrances. This has so beautifully citrus and florals and not too much vanilla.

Roses and Thyme

I have several of the MG line. Honestly, and I say this as a huge fan of all the old-school Guerlains, I like them all. I find the original MG and the original EDT super easy grabs for every day wear. I find the same to be true of BoR.

Bloom of Rose is definitely not rose centered, so the name is a bit of a misnomer. Citrus is right out of the gate, but that’s the same as many other Guerlains on my skin.

Looking at the notes, I’m pretty sure it’s lavender + jasmine that I predominately smell in the drydown. I do smell some light pink faerie roses in the mid-drydown but I really have to concentrate to find it.

I like it. It’s a sparkling, herbaceous floral, but a mild scent all around. Perfect for every day wear. Best in the warmth and heat in my opinion. Can go a little sharp in colder weather. Almost reminds me of Miracle by Lancome. Not the scent itself but the overall feeling of effortless class. Not bad for a modern scent.

Adriennne

This is my favourite MON GUERLAIN. I prefer this to the original or any other, even the edp. Smells less rose, and more like a bouquet and is very similar to miss dior edt 2013.

Gyps

Nice but I like the OG better. I don’t find a great deal of difference, only the lavender is stronger in the OG. I can’t really smell the rose in this and it’s not long lasting. I prefer an EDP.

Sreza7

I blind bought this and it definitely wasn’t for me! It was not sweet enough. Very floral. I prefer the OG Mon Guerlain.

toasavt

smells like toothpaste but in a good way

epona1705

Now, hold on, wait when you spray this. LET IT DRY DOWN! The dry down is lovely! Different all together when you initially spray! Turns into a clean, soapy type rose on my skin! I wasn't sure at first, but after wearing it for a few, I love it. Even though it's an EDT, don't drown yourself in it. Just about 4-6 sprays in your clavicle parts will do it!

Allegoria

You will love this - if - you find the original MG is too much vanilla and lavender for warm weather - but you still crave that quality Guerlain DNA for the summer. The neroli flower in this EDT a stand out and the scent is a true crowd pleaser. This is a summer fragrance that earns me the most compliments. True, the longevity is only a couple of hours, but if respray is no problem, it is well worth the effort. It does last longer on clothing, so I do make sure my clothing is carrying the scent as well.

I love all Guerlain, but in the heat, I imagine the rich vanilla of MG actually curdling and the lavender being just too heavy for summer days. In contrast, this toilette sits fresh and pretty on warm skin and I find myself breathing in the flower accord & very soft vanilla and sandalwood. Truly beautiful in my opinion. Nothing generic or cheap here. Still Guerlain quality, but in a soft way. I have just ordered my second backup bottle.

**Different from Bloom of Rose EDP which is heavier and does have a true rose scent and longer longevity. This EDT is lighter and mostly a beautiful neroli/jasmine flower.

Chocobaby

One of my favorite perfume houses is Guerlain (evident in my wardrobe LOL), and I enjoy their guerlainade with heavy vanilla base in a lot of their fragrances. The first time I tried Mon Guerlain though, I had to recoil from the heaviness of the vanilla. It felt like a generic gourmand and I was deeply disappointed as I do want to love it. With multiple flankers that came and went, I hadn’t paid much attention. Until Bloom of Rose. The neroli and citrus added much more brightness and lightened up the fragrance. I’m testing in 40C weather and with the rose lingering after 20 minutes and soft creamy Tahitian vanilla settling in, this is what I’ve been looking for! What a pretty, lighthearted take on the OG. Love this!

Lucylucylucy

I had to throw this out . Seems a screechy mess. Sharp strident synthetic smelling. I bought this one of my first perfumes and my nose has developed and this is not for me. I get the appeal because I thought it was amazing when I first bought it.

Gail14

Pretty version of the original. Not as long lasting as I would like, but nice if you want a pretty, light fragrance for the gym, office or warm Summer day.

Lady Nightshadow

This needs its time to develop and the actual fragrance is an elegant, opulent, sweet bouquet of neroli flowers: totally different from the top notes.

On my skin, Bloom of Rose opens with the distinct powdery and herbal vibe of lavander, paired with a faint tartness from citruses. Nothing that I personally enjoy, but this totally changes in no more than ten minutes, so Bloom of Rose is not the perfume to buy if you expect a durable, lingering lavender note.
These top notes might even dissolve faster, so fast that you won't ever smell them, if you have the habit to rub your wrists together and cut their life even more.

The actual fragrance is stunning: a sweet, opulent, gigantic bouquet of fully bloomed neroli flowers.
I am left wondering why did they call this "Bloom of Rose", when it's a struggle to find any rose under this hill of orange blossoms, unless you're able to self-suggesting. Then yes, there's maybe a hint of powdery nose behind this waterfall of vanilla and neroli.
Probably the middle notes portray a quite symbolic, made-up scent for big red roses, while the drydown has more of that powdery rose quality that one could expect from the name of this fragrance.

Overall, this is a beautiful and crowd pleasing fragrance, a safe blind buy for every floral lover that enjoys the sweeter side of the spectrum.
Bloom of Rose is feminine, elegant, office safe and a great choice for everyday wearing.

Longevity, during hot summer, is really moderate: it becomes a skin scent within a couple of hours, but you can get more of the good perfume if you sniff closer.
Sillage during the first hour is remarkable for an EDT.

aspirina

Pretty, but not very similar to the original MG. There is rose, there is lavender but a very dense and sweet neroli overpowers everything else. It reminds me a little bit of Jean Paul Gaultier Classique Cabaret and Pin Up.
Neroli, neroli, and more neroli with a ton of sweetness. Little rose here and there, maybe a sparkle of lavender....
Pretty but not what I expected.

KBreckenridge

I just got this yesterday. I can see the comparisons with Envy Me and Blush. It's green and rosy. I am anosmic to the original but I can smell this one just fine. One spray does it for me.

Sorfan

I wanted to get the Bloom of Rose edp and ordered this by mistake. I was a bit disappointed as the reviews online are not very favourable about this fragrance. However, this is one of my best blind buys ever as to me, it smells a lot like Blush by Marc Jacobs, which I used to adore and now can’t get a hold of. The notes are not similar apart from a few and Blush doesn’t even have rose in it. I don’t expect great longevity, but it came at a good price so I don’t mind over-spraying.

Rozalina

I love Mon Guerlain, which I think is one of the (if not THE) best designer women’s fragrances of the 2010s. I love rose. So naturally, I should love this flanker.
Oh no. No. No. No.
There is none of the fragrant lavender or buttery sweet vanilla that is present in the OG, just a confused, musky mess. The only specific aroma I can really pick out is some greenness from the rose, I assume, but that’s it. This just goes to show the importance of testing fragrances because it is quite possible that my skin is the culprit here.

PamMartinez21

I was hoping to find a non guerlain I like, but I guess I’ll keep trying, this one gave me a headache and it smells EXACTLY like Givenchy Very Irresistible 😒

cocodust

I was actually looking to try the original mon guerlain nut though I could get a sense with this. Well if that’s the case I will be steering well clear on Mon guerlain! This was hideous for me, a sickly sweet mess.

Enrium

It was inevitable that the best-selling Mon Guerlain would be followed by countless flankers - Guerlain seems to favour quantity over quality these days. The original, based around a lavender-vanilla accord, is a reasonably pleasant crowdpleaser with good performance, at times reminiscent of both Jicky and Shalimar. However, any flanker I have smelled pales in comparison. Bloom of Rose can at best be described as "meh". While it has some notes in common with MG, the DNA of the original is not obvious here.

BOR opens with a sweet but thin citrus accord, more sugary than refreshing. There is a nice lavender note here, but it is neither as seamless nor noteworthy as its presence in the original. Watery rose joins the other notes after a little while. As it develops, more soft floral notes join the citrus, but it is orange blosson that comes to the fore while the rose fades into the background. It goes slightly sour on my skin, and reminds me of cheap floral fruities that were ubiquitous during the noughties.

The woody vanilla accord that makes up the base is very subtle, and only a whisper can be smelled before it fades. BOR may have been better if the vanilla and sandalwood had been stronger - it seriously needs grounding. Sillage is moderate and longevity fairly weak, but it is an EDT. Too sweet yet also sour, BOR is watery yet not at all refreshing. Pointless - stick to the original. 1/5.

Desirelle

This one ultimately did not work out for me. It almost seems… skewed? As in a strange clash to my nose, maybe too much lavender competing with the rose. The rose here presents to me like rosewater, fresh and delicate. The lavender comes through soapy. They seem to be having a disagreement to me. Maybe it’s the citrus that sets them off. The base notes are nice, though.

I really love the original and the intense flanker. I can’t choose between those two, but either one is signature worthy for me. My mom, who hates vanilla with a passion, really liked this one, so I gave it to her. I’m interested in trying the EDP of this.

marilyn62

I blind bought this because I love Mon Guerlain. I should have looked at the notes and read more reviews I guess because unfortunately this flanker did not work out for me. There is a sour note that mixes with the rose and lavender that I just couldn't grow to like at all. I gifted this to my mother in law.

babixlily

I usually go for basic designer perfumes. Straight off the bat, it is definitely a lot more unique than anything in my collection. The first hour is lovely however it reads a little screechy and smells like a strong clean bar of lavender/ tuberose soap. It reminds me of my boyfriends signature scent, Versace pour Homme but more feminine and complex.

The dry down is absolutely beautiful. It moves away from the screechiness and progressively becomes more creamy with hints of florals by the end of it.

It's not a beast-mode fragrance, but I think it's perfect for any occasion when you want to feel classy and like you're 'trying too hard'.

Marianora67

New Up date to my last review regarding MGBORG well to add a short and sweet conclusion to my last long winded review!
Having been using this and its sister MG Toilette for some months now, I have to say I don’t love this at all! So I do digress from all the... its lovely....ect,..Total change of mind! Nothing special here Im finding it a bit sharp, boring, linear and bordering on mainstream, quite Meh!...there is far more frags out there in this genre that offer a great deal more.
I do regret purchasing this one, I wish I had of got something from the Muglar or Chanel range far more interesting! Not a good one to blind buy IMO:/

Adore Guerlain Bloom of Rose EDT
Have taken advantage of Nordstrom sale 3.03 ounce bottle 3X's

Also blend it with Gisou Honey Hair perfume...
Constant compliments on these two scents.
Guerlain Bloom of Rose EDT, is a modern version of a vintage-like Rose toilette, with the beautiful blending of Sambac Jasmine, Fruits (sexy never loud) & Tahitian Vanilla (which does not scream thankfully) Such pure perfection for my skin.

savage

I have MG EDP, MG Intense, and MG Sensuelle and love them all. I've also had MG Florale. Purchased the 3.4 oz size of this blind and something in this turns horrible with my chemistry; almost smells like tuberose which I cannot stand on me. I've tried it in several seasons and I just cannot. LOL. I've never done this before, but would love to get rid of this and swap someone for something else or sell this or SOMETHING?! Please lemme know! I'm in the US.

lwsylvia

The officially announced top notes are citrus and lavender notes, however the combo actually smelled like plum to me.
It feels quite fresh and slightly sour at the beginning. An hour or so later the neroli in the middle dominates to deliver a kind of synthetic and common floral smell that one may actually think of any popular shopping mall smell. Although the perfume is named as "Bloom of Rose" the rose note here is actually rather weak. The perfume turns from a rather screechy one to a gentle skin scent in around 2-3 hours. I really like when it moves towards the bottom notes. The domination of sandalwood marks a very soothing and calm ending for the perfume, with a very slight hint of vanilla that adds some cuteness to it. Overall definitely not a bad one, but may just be a brainless choice since it's not so special after all.

RainbowGirl

I can only give an incomplete review of this fragrance, as I purchased this early in my fragrance journey, when I was still learning different notes, and certainly did not know individual floral notes. Also, fragrances were stronger to my noob nose.

I remember the first hit was citrus, and I loved citrus openings, so it wasn't a wow for me, but it was ... satisfactory. A safe blind buy in that moment.

I had just gotten in an online order of blouses, so I was pulling them out of the packages, trying them on, and hanging them up. The whole time I was thinking, these blouses smell terrible. I cannot believe how awful these blouses smell! It wasn't until I was done, that I realized it was not the new blouses, but my arm that smelled so terrible! To me it smelled like plastic bags and chemicals, probably because that was what I was handling at the time.

I scrubbed this off my arm, and returned it, without hesitation.

But... I love YSL Libre so much, thst I am wondering if I should give the original Mon Gurelain a try? Maybe the cirtusy Rosy EDT was not for me, but maybe the original is right up my alley? Probably worthy of a tester...

Tolkashutka

MEH, MEH, MEH.

I like rose, but I prefer mine to be of the fresh cut / green stem variety. This goes into the candied / jammy / slightly too sweet direction, of which I am not a big fan. I am glad that I only have a 5 mL decant, because even with the substantial sale price that has been offered at Macy’s for several weeks, I’m not interested in a full bottle. I read the reviews beforehand and made sure to wait for a slightly cooler spring day (it was ~60 F and overcast on the day that I wore it)--and yet I’m still not in love, or even strong like.

There are so many other rose perfumes that are similarly priced, if not cheaper, that I would choose over this one. Again, MEHHHHHHHH.

I was going to try to wear this again, but a swap partner expressed interest, and I’d rather send it to her than try something again that left such a mediocre first impression.

My favourite Mon Guerlain flanker by far, maybe because it´s the most different of them all. The citrus opening in this lifts it up from being a boring classy lady perfume to someone with a fizzy personality and young voice. Love the rose accent in the heart of the perfume and probably it´s one of the reasons why I love it so much. Spring in a bottle, no great sillage or longevity though...

Agnes81

I blind bought this during winter because I love the original Mon Guerlain and Sensuelle. I found it a bit boring and air freshener-like when I first tried it. But today I wore it again in spring weather and really enjoyed it. It’s fresh rose with vanilla and lavender. Clean, dewy, bright and natural smelling. It doesn’t have much silage but it actually lasts all day on my skin. It’s more traditional feminine, light and flowery than the original. They don’t have a lot in common. Bloom of rose is nothing spectacular but it’s a beautiful spring fragrance.

Longfellowdm

Returned it. Just not a love for the price.

Murmur123123

I love florals and I love rose. This is a spring summer day time rose perfume to me, it has a very "fresh sweet" vibe to it, instead of any "thick sweet" or "dark sweet" feeling, if that makes sense. It has a noticeably higher "pitch" compared to roses such as Stella, or Rose Anonyme by Atelier Cologne.

This is also very different from MG EDP, MG EDT or MG Intense which I have. I dont mind it, but to me there is not much of the MG DNA in this one at all.

EDIT: as strange as it may sound, this one and Dior Addict EDT give me a similar vibe, although Addict EDT has no rose in it. When I looked at the notes for both, I think it made sense: both have citrus in the top notes, jasmine in the middle notes and vanilla+sandalwood in the base notes.

mermaidylady

This is very pretty, but I agree with previous reviewers that this doesn't feel like it should be a Mon Guerlain flanker. It smells nothing like the rest of the line. I'm an MG fangirl so I blind-bought this to expand my collection, and while I do like it and will wear it, I doubt I'll reach for it as often as my MG EDT or Sensuelle.

I get a lot of citrus, jasmine, and rose. It's light, airy, sparkling. A bit soapy. Perfect for spring. I feel like fans of Chloe fragrances would really enjoy this scent.

TexasOrangeBlossom

My least favorite in the line. It smells nice, but a bit like a high end soap or air freshener. I have others that serve that fresh, clean, floral purpose so I don’t feel the need to have a bottle. However, if the price was right or received as a gift, I would absolutely wear it.

Marisa36

A very successful blind buy for me. It is so lovely. Gentle, airy, very feminine and clean smelling floral. Not too sweet and definitely not loud and bombastic. Smells a little different to the current designer offerings and new releases that you smell everywhere. Some might find it a little boring, but it brings a smile to my face. As others have said, not a very prominent rose note. Inoffensive fragrance suitable for the office and for all ages. Am interested in trying the EDP.

mauvealert

A nice soft floral where despite the name, rose isn't super prominent. I agree with the reviewer who said there's something very nostalgic about this, like a department store makeup counter from when I was a kid. I also get a bit of lavender dryer sheets, but like nice, sophisticated dryer sheets. My husband gave this an "ooh!", which is quite good. I get lime, lavender, and jasmine in the drydown, which for me conjures a walk on a balmy summer evening, surrounded by night-blooming flowers, followed by a g&t on the porch.

Openseason

Am I crazy or is this a dupe for Womanity by Mugler? They both have that sweet, weird fishy/sour note to me. The difference is Womanity carries this through the entirety of the wear and is much stronger, and bloom of rose is super sweet at first, then turns sour after drying. So if you like Womanity but might be looking for something a bit more ordinary.. and even a little less “unisex,” this fragrance is my recommendation! I will always go for Womanity first, but I still like this one a lot whenever I decide to wear it.

Kanz Oman

Sprayed this & find it very similar to allure EDT, less fruity though. Like using it for office.

jenniferg0924

This is a lovely fragrance perfect for spring and summer. I wouldn’t consider this an all-year round fragrance.

When I put this on, oddly enough I think of champagne with a fresh cut rose in it(stem and all) with a splash of lime. It’s bubbly, sparkly, with a beautiful fresh cut rose.

Bloom of rose is the farthest from the original Mon Guerlain. If I smelled this on someone I would never think it’s a Mon Guerlain flanker.

This scent is mainly neroli with rose in the background. I only smell a TINY bit of lavender in the opening but it quickly disappears. The Neroli remains through the entire fragrance but the dry down has a hint of vanilla with it with the rose toned down.

For a EDT this is pretty long lasting. I put it on when i went To bed and I could smell it the next morning. Sillage is great too!

violetstorm

this is a beautifully crafted rose scent & a lovely addition to the mon guerlain collection :)

it reminds me of a beautiful bouquet of fresh cut roses with stems (i added stems cuz it has a really nice green aroma to it) if u arent a green fan dont worry this is a floral scent for sure but it has a slight green fragrance to it

this is what i imagine high end fresh cut roses to smell like :)

the toilette version is light & airy - its not heavy so dont let the word rose scare u lol in fact if u arent a fan of roses u may actually like this scent - its that light & that pretty :)

i would say perfect for any age - any occasion - definitely a wonderful springtime scent :)

guerlain has done wonders with this whole line - there isnt a miss so far lol

ps - i know lavender is in the DNA for this scent but for this particular scent i get more fresh cut roses :)

AnaisLouLou

This is a lovely perfume. I have the EDT.

It seems to have 2 different pyramids. As if there are 2 different perfumes in one. In the air, it opens up with rose and goes into a heavy Povencale lavender. I have visited Provence. I also, grow French lavender which, to me, is the most beautiful of the lavenders.

It's been hours and this rose lavender scent is still wafting all around me, after using 2 sprays.

The rose is like a dry rose (not dried rose), so not a juicy, young rose. It's a little synthetic smelling to me.

Then, when I get up close to my skin, I smell a clean musk and a fresh (not gourmand) vanilla. It's like 2 different perfumes in one.

This is an all weather, all seasons style fragrance. It's really versatile.

SarahTheBoss

One of my favorites. There's a sparkling note in this that is just beautiful! It is pretty linear but it doesn't bother me at all. I have zero longevity issues, it lasts around 6 hours on me with one spray. It is also one of my most complimented scents and probably the closest to a signature that I have. I love Mon Guerlain but in my opinion this flanker just has that something special that takes it a step above.

LizzieDee

This is beautiful when you first spritz it on but it just doesn’t last. I tested this on one wrist and Tom Ford Rose P**** a few hours ago and the Tom Ford is still going strong (unfortunately) but the Guerlain has completely disappeared.

LightOfJoy

If you've ever smelled a Peace Rose, this fragrance is reminiscent of the beautiful yellow and pink tinged rose. This intro "Eau de Toilette" version of Bloom of Rose is fresh, brisk, citrusy, bright, and light in feel but strong in sillage and longevity for a fragrance of its nature. It's not syrupy at all, and not too terribly close to the original Mon Guerlain. It could easily be a separate fragrance.

What it's not: syrupy, sweet, heavy, deep red rose.

This is a perfect spring or summer scent to put a skip in your step.

AlexandraTroush

Oh wow, I did not expect THAT. My husband is not one to complement, but as soon as he caught a whiff of this he went "Oh my LORD, what is that perfume?! It is BEAUTIFUL!!! Please wear it more often!".

To me it smells like a mixture between Happy Spirit by Chopard and JPG's Scandal. It smells like honey and grape juice. It's sweet, juicy, candy-like but not overly cloying, not tart, and has a "cool" feeling about it (cool as in cold-ish). It's beautiful for the cool spring that we're experiencing right now, but I suspect it could be a little too sweet for really hot days.

The rose here is not a freshly-cut, green stem kind of rose. Instead, it reminds me of some rose jam from the deli I once tried- sugared, sticky, drippy, and absolutely YUMMY.

I think I agree with some here who claim this is not Guerlain-like, but it's very pleasant nonetheless!

Decodawn

Hello from Decodawn to my fellow fragrance fans. This is my review of Guerlain 'Bloom of Rose'. Firstly may I just say I think this fragrance is gorgeous. It's Perfect for Spring/Summer & warmer weather & holidays. This is obviously related to the original Mon Guerlain but a Lighter, cleaner, airy, fresh, opening and its 'eau de toilette' so a thinner fragrance. However, the dry down is excellent & is very reminiscent of florale & MG original and a typical Guerlain. The fragrance is very long lasting. Beautiful bottle. I own 4 so far. Mon Guerlain, Florale, Intense and Bloom of Rose and I will be buying MG edt as it is now discontinued. I love this range Mon Guerlain has been a huge success
If you prefer lighter floral romantic fragrances you will love this. If you prefer a more robust fragrance I would suggest the original which is still very strong or the intense. Don't just try it buy it. Lots of current offers on ebay. It's a big thumbs up from me. Stay safe everyone. Love Dawn x

Just tried the new EDP that came out for this one.

Very sour opening from the citrus - it actually reminded me of the smell of beer that's been spilled on a bar floor, somehow. A few minutes later I got hints of the trademark vanilla/lavender combo that distinguishes Mon Guerlain, but it was quite muted. Also only slightly detect rose as part of this unusual accord of notes - really disappointing.

Overall, the most predominant note I get from this on my skin is a sour, puckery citrus, and I’m not a fan. Much prefer the original Mon Guerlain (EDP).

Berta15

@gelkita
Yes and it's smells absoooolutely delicious and heavenly,it will be a true gem, sweet floral with a touch of fruits ,but still the Bloom of Rose DNA is there but sweeter and more sensual.
It will be heaven in a bottle.
(have it already)

gelkita

According to Guerlain French website, The Bloom of Rose will be soon released in EDP version.

Notes listed : Bulgarian roses, lavender, Turkish roses, pear and vanilla.

Cherrybubble

How aptly named. It starts off with a huge smack around the chops of citrus, quite an orangey punch with a rough hit of lavender THEN... slowly, very gently this begins to bloom. It blooms into a wonderful rosy scent with the lavender perfectly softened and in harmony with the citrus. This is my favourite Mon Guerlain by miles. So feminine

Nancy83

The citrus takes too much space for my taste. The first blast is citrus and rose, then after few minutes other flowers come out. The sillage is moderate soft, the rose gets more blend in with the other flowers, I smell more jasmine after a while, a bit sweetened. After 3-4 hours, it's more a woodier soapier, jasminy citrus, then it gets less citrusy and more a clean scent, I like that stage. Around 8-10 hours I still get some faint smell, I would say the longevity of the perfume is fine on me and the projection average.

This is so different than the original, more citrusy and less sweet. More fresh citrusy and less blurry floral than Florale, but more floral than a Aqua Allegoria perfume. Later it reminds me a bit of a less sweet Shalimar Souffle De Parfum.

Mon Guerlain Bloom Of Rose is agreeable to wear, classic, I got compliments, people say I smell tendre, but I found the sweetness and spicy lavendery of the original more my style. I will easily finish my sample when I feel for a citrus floral, I need to try it more, but I think if I have to buy one I will go with the original.

kitsunemagic

Not what I expected but I have to say I do find this version of Mon guerlain different from the others but indeed pleasant. I can see why this one is called Bloom of Rose now! It doesn't even take long for the rose to bloom while the lavender is in the background along with some sparkling citrus notes. Bloom of rose has a rosy miss dior kinda vibe then it does of the sweet and warm Mon guerlain. Overall this perfume is nice and very appropriate for spring and summer

sugaryrose

As others have said, no roses here. It smells of citruses mixed with some sugar + something green added. Almost a skin scent. Well, not what I expected. The Floral version is much better.

Soofiya

Unlike my expectations I like this one more than Mon Guerlain Florale and even Mon Guerlain and I wish I had bought this one instead of MGF
Mon Guerlain Bloom Of Rose is far from a generic, watery rosey scent.it has a character of it's own,is very pretty, very feminine and very Guerlain!
Yes it's not a sillage monster but I don't care since it's dreamy scent wafts softly around me for a good 4,5 hours.I can detect Mon Guerlain DNA in it but all in all they're very different.Mon Guerlain Bloom Of Rose isn't as rosey as it's name suggests.rose is definitely there but it's hand in hand with neroli, jasmine and lavender.oh and a very soft non-gourmand vanilla, sandalwood combo which prevents it from getting too sharp or cold. It's not a citric scent on me,it's a fresh soapy, slightly powdery scent.albeit a luxurious, flowery smelling soap.something in it makes me think of ladies in classic romance novels, there's a classic feminine smell in here, like a mix of makeup powder, hair spray, french soap and what lingers on skin after wearing clean floral perfumes which were trendy back then.
Well, what I see in it is very difficult to explain.if I want to put the simple way I'd say it's a fresh, clean floral scent mixed with powdery, not so sweet vanilla;ladylike, delicate, classy and timeless.
I definitely have to go back to try it once again as I can't stop thinking about it

I tried it today only by confusion: a few days ago a sniffed one of Mon Guerlain's flankers, I was 100% sure it was intense version. I fell in love and went there today only to make sure I want it for Christmas. To my surprise, there was no tester of Intense, so what I have tested then???
I grabbed the bottle o this one and didn't even sprayed it I just wiped it off with my wrist and sleeve. Longevity is pretty good, I can smell it from the sleeve after over 10 h. Since I smelt it I found it familiar...but to what...?
And now I know, rose note makes is very similar to Very Irresistible Sensual by Givenchy. On my skin it smells the same. This rose is mixed with some other note that gives that frosty vibe.
Anyway, I cannot smell Mon Guerlain in it at all. And I still dont know what I tested then...

Mon Guerlain Fleur d'Oranger

I'm kind of annoyed. I was SO excited for this perfume because I love roses, and I thought that a Rose-Lavendar-Vanilla perfume would be amazing. (Does know of a perfume that is dominant with these notes?)

I really don't smell any rose in this perfume at all. It's a Orange Blossom/Neroli based perfume. Hands down and top to bottom that's what it is. No roses to be found in here.

So that's out of the way.

It smells nice and all, it kind of smells like the outside of a Sephora. Clean and perfumey and pleasant.

Bloom of "Rose" goes like this: Orange citruses combined with lots of orange blossom to open, clean and soft like high end shampoo...next in the heart are more white florals, mostly lily of the valley to my nose, which is not listed. The heart has a smooth brightness in feel that is nice. Still it's mostly a fragrant smudge of "white floral" accord that surrounds the orange blossom. There is a hint of something vaguely green and earthy behind the orange and white floral bouquet. This stage lasts a long, long time. The drydown is but a vapor of vanilla and lavender. I would have said 'ghost' of vanilla and lavender, but that sounds too substantial.

Except for the neroli/orange blossom notes everything in here has a very toned down and washed out quality. I can barely smell the lavender, and even the vanilla is barely present. It's a Guerlain for goodness sake how is it possible that the vanilla isn't a strong player?

Yet, this perfume actually lasts a LONG time. At least a good 8 hours, and the projection isn't bad.

I don't know though. This is a good perfume to wear to work, and it's smells...nice. I might end up keeping it just to smell like a person that uses really nice shampoo, or use it as a linen spray.

The whole missing rose thing though is a huge disappointment. What where they thinking? Why even call it that? They are churning out these flankers at an insane rate. I'm not even against the whole idea, but MG has had I think two already this year, this one and MG Intense. There can't be that much thought put into them. Guerlain is my favorite perfume house by far but this is kind of bullshit, and beyond me not just liking a new release from them.

h149

Got a sample tube and took it for a spin on the wrists today. Lasted about 8 hours, could only smell it by pinning my nose to my skin.

Unfortunately, I had no luck with the lavender in this - disappointing because that is far and away what interested me most, but it’s totally undetectable from start to finish on me. And incredibly, I can’t find any of the fruitiness, rose, or white flowers in it, either. What this EDT reminds me of is what happens when ice cream flavors are formulated to be based on flowers but then just end up tasting like regular ice cream with some vague "pink" flavor swirled in it.

Basically, this perfume is 100% baked good gourmand on me thanks to the vanilla, and while that’s not a bad thing per se, I prefer drinkables rather than edibles when it comes to gourmands so it’s a hard pass. I think I would rename it “Whiff of Wedding Cake.”

Catsylvania

When I first tested this out, I realized the scent smells very familiar, and I must've spent ages trying to figure out what exactly that was until I realized that the truth is, this Mon Guerlain flanker simply smells like... everything. It's a mishmash of absolutely every single citrusy rose scented pink water that's been released in the past decade, and Mon Guerlain Bloom of Rose rounds it all up in the year 2019.

Objectively speaking, I find the scent very pleasant and surprisingly, quite long lasting. MGBOR is a good quality scent that simply seems to lack the strong and bold character that always made Guerlain fragrances stand out. I enjoyed that the citrus here was soft and rounded off by vanilla and something that did resemble a bit of lavender, but alas, the rose didn't quite "bloom" here. It felt somewhat aquatic, perhaps diluted, and MGBOR could've benefited if the rose went along the more traditional route of being heavier and, perhaps, semi-powdery.

The scent, as I said, lasted a very decent amount of time. Silage is alright although it's obvious that the scent is designed to sit close to the skin as if having the office setting in mind, which is surely considerate if you do work in that kind of an environment. However, if I needed a fragrance that really makes an entrance, MGBOR is a pass.

Final words: a very pleasant scent but generic. A nice freshie for hotter times of the year.

s.pa_pandora

Mon Guerlain Bloom of Rose Eau de Toilette
This fragrance is still a signature of Mon Guerlain series, of which I can smell lavender and vanilla notes, but added on with rose scent and some citrus notes.
It's quite light and transparent. I wish it had Eau de Parfum version for thicker performance and longer duration on my skin.

LadyIva

Wow, the house of Guerlain has been churning out flankers of Mon Guerlain, LPRN and Shalimar like a sausage machine... Alas, it seems to me that, since the departure of Ms Sylvaine Delacourte, this revered perfume house has lost all of its classiness and decided to favour quantity instead of quality. *sob*
Anyway, I'm not a fan of the original Mon Guerlain; I don't find its combination of sweet vanilla and masculine lavender appealing at all. On the other hand, this particular flanker Mon Guerlain Bloom of Rose Guerlain for women or MGBORGFW has both the sweet and the moth-repelling components of Mon Guerlain toned down a bit, in favour of floral notes. Alas, Wasser & Co. decided to replace lavender with neroli, which is even worse in my book. This flanker is also quite soapy and cologne-like, with an overdose of citric notes. Although the original Mon Guerlain is not my cup of tea, at least it's original; while this flanker is totally boring and forgettable.

morinatk04

guerlygirl1

First, a word on flankers. I think it’s kind of strange how flankers are perceived. If they are too much like the supposed main fragrance, then many people are super unhappy and think the perfumer is being lazy. Then, if the flanker is too different, many people are outraged and and then unhappy because they think it doesn’t belong in the same line.
My thoughts on flankers: let’s just look at each Fragrance produced as its own personal creation. Smell it for who it is.

Mon Guerlain Bloom of Rose, right off the bat, is recognizable as a Guerlain scent. It has that Guerlain depth that you can sense and smell from the first sniff to the last sniff long after dry down. This does open with a fresh burst of citrus, you can get whiffs of lavender then starts to dry into a big bouquet of florals. I completely agree with reviewer darlingnikki about the floral part being reminiscent of Giorgio and the BIG 1980’s-1990’s floral powerhouse scents. Bloom of rose can hold its own beautifully! The florals send up wafts around you and they are softened by the vanilla a sandalwood in the background. This is a bright, cheery floral that has a sweetness and softness as to not knock everyone out in your path, while still being a bit unique. If you liked those big florals back in the day (Giorgio, amarige, poison, champs elysees,) try this out on your skin, I think you’ll be able to appreciate it.

Eicher

Gorgeous fragrance, delicate roses, light floral. Unfortunately too light. After 3 hourse it's gone on my skin.

Soft (pretty soft) sillage
Very poor longevity

Guerlain used to do better, much better longevity.

DarlingNikki

I wanted to like the original Mon Guerlain, but the lavender vanilla combination made me think of lavender vanilla scented candles and room spray--not a terrible smell at all, but not something I want on my body. I tried this and immediately had a flashback to Giorgio Beverly Hills from back in the '80's! They share several notes, but of course, Mon Guerlain is nowhere near the powerhouse performance of Giorgio from way back when. I actually am liking this flanker quite a bit, which surprises me. There's something fresh, modern and yet classic about it (that GBH vibe) that keeps drawing my nose to it. It almost has a lily-of-the-valley greenness with the notes combining in the dry down or a smooth 'dewiness' that must be coming from the neroli/lavender/sandalwood mixing. Quite nice and well worth investigating further.

bouquetbuff

Ultra feminine and much lighter and simpler than the original. Hard to think of it as a flanker, I find the original heavy and offensive. This in contrast wears easily. Its graceful, feminine and gentle.

cookygirl

I love this.
It's not my usual cup of tea - rose is not my favorite note, but here, with the lavender reigning it in, it is lovely.
There's something very vintage-y in this that reminds me of what women smelled like when I was growing up.
This is an uber-feminine scent to me. I could see myself wearing this on special occasions - it's a bit heavy for everyday.

Olya-la

Actually I am not a fan of Mon Guerlain line, but this flanker caught my attention. I like the way citrus and rose notes are blended with lavender and vanilla. The composition is stylish and sounds soft and sophisticated. The rose here is not strong enough for those who like rose fragrances, and it is quite modernistic. The base is slightly sweet, slightly powdery with a touch of spiciness.

Grasse

This is my second review about this perfume, it was a sort of difficult start for me (it's not always love on first sight), but now I love it, especially in spring! It's like a fresh breezy airy rose growing in a lovely dewy morning garden!
So it's also a growing love for me, good for the office, also make me think about the old version of white linnen breeze, same kind of scent from Estee Lauder, not offensive!

Annabear

I love this! Nothing like the original, why call it a flanker?
Here’s my take on it, it’s a beautifully fresh green rose over a creamy lavender with a soupçon of nougat.
I am not getting the citrus being a dominant note as displayed in the main accords list, it’s muskier than that.
Huge compliment getter too, about 5 spritzes on leaving the house, it’s still radiating 3 hours later and I’ve had two people tell me I smell amazing.
I just wanted to mention that when I first sprayed it on this morning, I got a slight sense of 190 ans, that could be the nougat note reminding me of the almond accord in 190.
That one is still not in the data base although I submitted it in January.

Edited this morning - after spraying again last night, I can still smell it this morning...not bad for an EDT!

oumaima

I never tried the original Mon Guerlain so this is a neutral review. I got a sample with my latest perfume haul and I gave a it a try. I thoroughly enjoyed it, not quite a love.. but a solid like.
Flowery, sweetish and inoffensive. Perfect for Autumn and Spring.

Projection is good at first but then it becomes more linear. Lasting power is very moderate, i could no longer distinguish it after a couple of hours.

Scent 7/10
Sillage 7.5/10
Staying power 6.5/10

Personal rating 7/10

It took several time testing the original Mon Guerlain EDP before I fall in love with it. So I took a chance by taking first test with Mon Guerlain Bloom of Rose. It was different experience compared to its older sister whereby I don't get offended when I first sprayed it. The top notes is clearly appear right the perfume touch my skin and linger for a while. After drydown, the lavender notes is on the low key compared to MG EDP. The citrus is faded and the floral dominates the perfume. I do not get strong roses as the whole notes mixed together but the lavender is noticeable. Staying power is good and silage is great too. The smell keep aroused to my nose making me smelling my wrist all day long. I do recommend this MG Bloom of Rose if you find MG EDP too matured or you just can't stand the lavender notes. However, I personally prefers MG EDP over this one. Try before you buy.

dahrling

Wow, this is GORGEOUS! I love the original and the Florale, but this is so incredibly pretty - I have the Florale on one arm and a sample of Bloom of Rose on the other at the moment, and while they both share the same fresh-vanilla combination, Florale (as the name suggests) leans more floral but is still more suited to warm or cool days due to the sweet and more intense vanilla it shares with the original Mon Guerlain, while Bloom of Rose is perfect for truly hot weather since it has a creamier and softer vanilla undertone that is outshined by a pure, bright medley of notes that are so well-blended that I can hardly pick them apart.

The citrus here is very inoffensive though, clean and sweet (nothing like Light Blue, for example), while the rose is definitely there but so well blended with the vanilla in the background that you might miss it if you aren't consciously looking for it. I can smell the neroli and it adds a very delicate, bridal-like finish to this beautiful fragrance. I LOVE it, well done Guerlain!

Kentington

Viewed on its own merits, Bloom of Rose is a lovely fresh summer citrus rose, with a powdery-vanillic drydown that keeps it from smelling too much like something from the Aqua Allegoria line.

As a flanker, it seems a very peculiar release. There's not a lot in this perfume that ties it to the original Mon Guerlain. It's a little more like Mon Guerlain EDT, but still different enough to be another perfume entirely. It makes one wonder what the criteria for a "Flanker" are, if any.

LisaMari

I love bloom of rose, it’s fresh and beautiful. The opening has a faint inky rose, then in the dry down a youthful green jasmine comes through and a faint hint of the lavender and vanilla. I can’t really detect the rose anymore it’s like it’s somewhere in this spring garden of jasmine and that’s just fine by me. This is beautiful!

Rose du soir

Very nice fresh floral aromatic fragrance with soft rose, neroli and lavender, where the vanilla is reduced to a whisper that reveals its sweetness only hours after, in the drydown. Contrary to the original, it's not really sweet, but essentially a floral.
This fragrance evokes me the image of a sweet and shy woman. Very feminine and gentle. I can imagine a young mom with her baby in an English garden on a Summer morning. It's a fragrance that's unlikely to offend anyone and that isn't meant to impress the whole world, but simply to feel happy and let family and friends remember this soft scent that smells so nice.

Lipglossjunkee

This takes the beauty of the Mon Guerlain EDT and amps it up a bit with rose and neroli, creating a bright, fresh, gorgeous Spring scent that radiates happiness. If you found the EDP version of Mon Guerlain just a bit too heavy, too powdery, or too sweet, then I suggest you try the EDT version AND Bloom of Rose---they are both fresher interpretations of the fragrance while keeping true to the idea of an almost gourmand vanilla lavender heart. This one is quite a bit lighter so I don't expect a ton of longevity from it---I see a lot of reviewers calling this a shy rose, and that is an apt description. It's more of a rosewater or rose bud fragrance, I can see this being a hit with Spring and Summer brides, to be honest. Not generic by any means, but unassuming and overall pleasant in nature. Definitely full bottle worthy.

LieneHelena

This is bright citrusy floral with rose tinted glasses. Wasn't what I expected, but I LOVE it. Bloom of Rose gives me more floral, gentle vibe of LIGHT BLUE on my skin with softer opening and more smooth dry down. Lavender is more fresh, airy in this composition, like a breeze from lavender field. I feel dewy bright rose in opening stages, and it continue to peak trough like a shy girl who is about to bloom into womanhood. By no means this is plush red velvety petals, but buds that are about to burst in springtime, surrounded with fragrant citrus trees. What a beauty, Full bottle worthy to me.

Grasse

I had an oldie of Guerlain (petit guerlain), and I think they are very similar, but it is for little boys!
In the beginning, its a typical Guerlain, that's for sure!
I have to get used of it, sorry, but I like Guerlain (respect) with many other perfumes.
I had problably other expectations, but it's not bad,
it comes to a later bloom scent, it should open, must be patience!

gravitysalad

After the citrusy opening, I experience this a quiet, ferny green, fresh-watery fragrance with a whisper of blooms and only a shadowy resemblance to the others in the MG series (all of which I love). Watery may not be the right word -- it actually feels dry and powdery, yet somehow like fresh water to me. Understated and lovely.

Clean, fresh, a bit powdery and slightly sweet. Almost like a bar of soap. It’s pleasant. More wearable than the original. I was expecting a bit more though. Something in the likes of La vie est Belle en Rose, a joyful floral, but Bloom of Rose is a bit shy and conservative.
It’s a nice scent, but nothing groundbreaking.
Try it if you are looking for something that smells like luxus soap.
Final note:6/10

I love Mon Guerlain and thought I could blind buy. What a mistake! My nose smells a plastic, cheap smell. This is definitely not a blind buy perfume.

ArtDecoStyle

I"m trying to figure out the reasons that Bloom of Rose gets a very low score (3.16 at the moment) and so many dislikes. Is it a very bad, disturbing, unwearable fragrance (to me a gentle, easy to wear, elegant perfume) or its misleading name (it's neither a Mon Guerlain nor a rose perfume) makes people disappointed? If the latter, can our disappointment make a perfume to deserve such a low rate? If personal expectations play such a big role and we are that far from being objective on evaluating a perfume, I feel doubt about the reliability of the ratings, I'm sorry.

I enjoy the priginal mon guerlain but omg this one is sooooo bad. I couldn't believe my nose. Guerlain should better do a greater job next time

I have Mon Guerlain EDT on one wrist and Mon Guerlain Bloom of Rose EDT on the other. The EDT is very similar to the original Mon Guerlain EDP, just a bit lighter with a bit less going on in the base notes. Bloom of Rose is different. There is still the signature Mon Guerlain scent underneath, but it does not play a starring role. The stars of this fragrance are citrus, neroli and rose. I have to really try hard to smell the rose, as it seems to blend in very well with the rest of the notes. But the overall impression that the citrus, neroli and rose create is one of class and elegance. This fragrance is more office friendly than the original EDP and EDT, however, it is never boring. It is unmistakably Guerlain in quality and depth. The more I smell it the more I enjoy this fragrance. I received this as a gift a few days ago and it is already becoming one of my favourites! And it is very versatile and would suit a variety of occasions and locations. Because it is lighter, it will do well in the spring and summer. Well done Guerlain!

'Bloom of Rose' is so shy.
It seems that it doesn't want to reveal itself completely. Everything is soffused here. So, as a faint whisper barely perceptible, it is a delicate intimate kiss, a pure discreet aura. A jewel for how refined this soft vanillary/citrusy/rosy lavender is.
For me, the most sophisticated of the four proposals available (as usual, absolutely a matter of taste).

Got a free sample of this from Debenhams, in a very generous gift box, when buying some Melon Lancome Juicy Tubes.

Just wanted to mention that, as I was impressed by their generosity. :)

Didn't think I'd like it, because even though I like roses, jasmine and vanilla, I'm not too keen on lavender as a perfume ingredient and tend to amp blue-purple flowers over everything else.

But, this is actually quite nice on me, in a no danger of scaring the horses kind of way.

Can barely smell the lavender (thankfully).

In fact, it's quite difficult for me to truly isolate the individual ingredients.

It's sweet but not super-sweet; on me, anyway.

I tend to turn fragrances with any natural ingredients sourer.

Very feminine (like the pink juice), pretty (like the bottle), but not really sensual, or sexy, as such (like both of the above).

When first sprayed on, it reminded me of walking through the cosmetics department of a brightly lit department store, as a child.

Maybe the top notes are a bit like another fragrance they stocked, or maybe they are just a pleasant mixture of all the different products they had there, at the time?

It was a light, happy memory, so it made me feel happy.

Then, after a few minutes, it became somewhat reminiscent of the scent commonly used for baby lotion.

Which I don't dislike.

...and then kind of stayed there, for some time, gradually getting slightly more intense, for a while, before starting to fade quite fast (being an EDT).

I would describe it as a nostalgic fragrance, in general.

If pretty, gentle, non-threatening, nostalgic fragrances are for you, definitely try it.

For me, it's probably just a tiny bit too gentle and safe.

I need just a little edge in there somewhere, amongst all the pink and baby lotion.

A tiger amongst the petals. :D

Maybe some tuberose would have given it a lift?

Still, I like it, nonetheless and might have considered getting it, had it come in an EDP.

Even if it does make me smell a little like a big baby.

SLIGHT ROSE WATER

I tried this today and there is a slight hint of Rose Water. It is delicate, soft and subtle.

In my opinion, the best part of this is, that it doesn't resemble in any way the Original (Mon Guerlain).

If you want a good rose fragrance - try another fragrance.

ellenastokman

A little bit dissapointed, hardly detect any rose.
Just a blast or citrus floral for the first 30 minutes then quickly fades to floral for the next 30minutes..then just almost dissapear..had to put my nose close to my skin to smell it.

eloisegirl

Tried this today and four hours later there is nothing. Oh wait, that's because after the initial half an hour, there was nothing. I've read so many reviews about various scents where the reviewer complained they could smell nothing; now I'm that reviewer. "Bloom of Rose" makes me think there should be a rose note. Didn't get that. Just got a bodymist level of scent, with a slight 'liquid floor cleaner' note. I adore Guerlain and feel terribly about writing such things, but I do not get this at all. And Mon Guerlain EdP is my ride-or-die, yikes.

Edited to add: tried again with some samples I cadged from the SA, and sprayed it at the end of the day. This time I smelled a little more something-than-nothing, but again, very light. I'd describe it as a wisp of my childhood - a vintage 60s smell of a glamourous babysitter with red lipstick and faint rose perfume who has had a cigarette at her house but won't smoke at your house. I find the very faded scent of cigarette to be kind of soothing. I'm sure I'll edit this again in a month and say how much I love it. I'm a total ho for Guerlain anything.

First let me say that I love Mon Guerlain and Florale. I also love roses of all types. I do not get the feel of Mon Guerlain in Bloom of Rose. As others have said, this could have been a stand alone scent and not a flanker.

It is very fresh and citrusy. It is missing the warmth of the other fragrances in this line. I don't think it should have "rose" in the name as it doesn't seem very rosy at all. I get very little rose as it is overshadowed by neroli. I'm not really picking up vanilla or sandalwood either. Even the lavender in this one feels different than the other Mon Guerlain fragrances.

I wanted a rose scent, not neroli dominance. It's not a bad scent, it's just not what I had hoped it would be. Fresh, clean citrus floral lovers will enjoy this more than I do. I don't hate it, but I don't like it very much either.

Edit to add that I did return this one.

Ulusia

I am glad that the newer the flanker is, the more I like it. The Bloom of Rose is innocent, fresh, VERY feminine and although it would be office friendly it has its interesting character.

AnitaHendricks

I didn't like this perfume at the start. It reminded me of a cheap, rose-scented cleaning solution. I enjoy most perfumes by Guerlain, so I was a bit dissapointed. The perfume started to smell slightly more sophisticated after a few minutes. I enjoyed it! It doesn't last long on my skin and it isn't my favorite, but it's wearable.

3boysrunmom

I love the two previous Mon Guerlain fragrances and had been waiting to try this. I was not expecting the bright citrus opening and it does not smell like neroli to me, more of a generic citrus, shampoo-type scent. The dry down is barely reminiscent of the original Mon Guerlain, I don’t get any vanilla. Update: This has become my new daily work scent, the dry down is soft and a little bit fresh, very pleasant. I can see the nurse/teacher/I like perfume but don’t want to offend-type enjoying this.

Little_dragon

I agree that this fragrance is really different from the other offerings in the Mon Guerlain range. However, I think it's a very complementary fragrance to the others; I imagine it would be even more beautiful if layered with either MG or MG Florale.

For me, the neroli really dominates from first spritz right through the dry-down. The sillage and longevity are much more impressive with this one than the others. A little of this goes a long way; others who sometimes experience asnomia with MG and MG Florale (as I do) might find that this one really breaks that trend.

I felt the neroli was really too strong at first, but (while still dominant) it settles in the dry-down; I can *just* detect rose in there now, though it's as if it's standing so close behind the neroli that you can only see it from certain angles. The dry down is a lovely, clean, fresh fragrance that reminds me of a more robust Hugo Boss Femme.

I thought I wasn't going to like it at first, but it's grown on me. I might have to purchase this one as well.

Update: it does layer beautifully with Mon Guerlain Florale (in a one-spray-each MGF/MGBoR/MGF sandwich). Also, I somehow just realised that this is an EDT flanker; hard to believe when it is so much stronger/long-lasting than the EDPs!

Midnight Lady

I expected something else, to me this also isn't rose centered fragrance. It's fresh, citrus in the beginning and mainly white floral represented by strong neroli and jasmine. When it settles, it gets slightly powdery and citruses step aside a bit and I can finally detect slight touch of rose and vanilla.

Gentle, feminine, clean. Surely sophisticated at some point, but nothing really unique. I like the original Mon Guerlain way better.

ArtDecoStyle

I was very excited when Mon Guerlain was introduced. I went to the store on the day it was released, but my hope turned out to be a big disappointment. It was very heavy and cloying to my nose. I could not get along very well with its sisters either.

But Bloom of Rose is totally another story. It starts with fresh, sweet citrus, then flowers start to bloom. I can not identify these flowers very well but I can say that it's not a rose centered fragrance. It smells very pure and clean, but not like a typical citrus perfume. It also has a floral sweetness unlike sugary, gourmand sweet. On the middle phases, lavender becomes more prominent. On drydown, it's what I wanted Mon Guerlain to be; slightly vanillic lavender.

I think this will be a crowd-pleaser but not in a boring way. I may use it as a daily, office friendly fragrance and keep on wearing in the evening. Very versatile, gives a positive feeling.

I'm happy not to overlook this perfume because of my previous experience with the mother scent. This may be a perfect choice for spring & summer and a mood lifter for autumn & winter.

Update: On my second trial, I was sure that I loved it very much and I bought it. After a very rainy and cold winter, now the sun shines and the trees are getting ready to bloom. Hope of spring is everywhere. Bloom of Rose fits these days very well.

This version is nothing like the original, florale or the edt.
This is like the most beautiful spring breeze, when outside is getting warm and the sun is shining, and you feel the spring in the air.
This version is very fresh-floral and has a soapy vibe.
The opening is very energising ,a true rose scent mixed with fresh-fizzy citruses.
The heart notes are more soapy and more floral without the sweetness. There is actually just a pinch of sweetness, this version has no vanilla,no sweetness.
The strongest note is definitely neroli with the lavender mixed with the rose and a big bouquet of jasmine.
The neroli add such a big freshness to the scent. In this version the lavender is more realistic and aromatic, like a real lavender.
The dry down is very sensual floral scent, with a soapy feeling throught the whole scent. It´s very clean and fresh version of the original.
The longevity and sillage is amazing too,it last all day and night.
Highly recommend it for fresh-floral lovers(who love lavender mixed with neroli and rose) and for those who want a spring-summer more light version of the original.
I love that it has a different vibe but still with the Mon Guerlain DNA in it.
Highly recommend it,spring in a bottle.

I ordered the full size bottle on QVC with 5 easy payments the very first day it was offered. I keep checking every day to see if they have shipped it yet. It is supposed to be here no later than Friday, 2/22/19. I cannot WAITTTTT!

I LOVE the reviews above. I am always looking for a soapy floral or soapy rose as my signature is Chloe Chloe or Chloe New. No matter how many beautiful perfumes I collect, which are in the hundreds now, Chloe remains at the top of the list for me. It smells so great on my skin that I can barely stand it! LoL.

This one is very very promising. I own the other Mon Guerlain (but not the florale). Neroli is my favorite note, so I am just sure of it that this is going to be a love. Will update as soon as it arrives!
