Armani Eau de Cèdre by Giorgio Armani is a Woody Aromatic fragrance for men. Armani Eau de Cèdre was launched in 2015. Top notes are Sage, Bergamot and Lemon; middle notes are Violet Leaf, Cardamom and Cumin; base notes are Black Tea, Cedar Essence, Suede and Woody Notes.

Cult fragrance Armani Eau Pour Homme launched in 1984 received its re-edition Armani Eau Pour Homme in 2013, as well as several versions making up the special Eau Pour Homme line of the house. The first version was presented in a black flacon in 2013 Armani Eau de Nuit, followed by Eau d'Aromes, 2014. It was expected that the men’s fragrant line will be expanded further. The latest edition to mark 2015 is named Armani Eau de Cedre, and is dedicated to precious cedar. The fragrance arrives on the market on August 24, 2015.

The composition of the new version was inspired by the scent of a man’s velvet jacket, which is soft, delicate and elegant. The characteristic scent of Eau de Cedre edition conveys the softness of velvety material and starts the composition with lemon oil and Italian bergamot. Aromatic scent of sage is mixed with violet leaves and caraway, with a hint of "Cardamom Pure Jungle Essence" chord. Masculine chords originate from essences of cedar, black tea, woody chords and suede.

The elegant and characteristic flacon is created of dark green glass which describes green cedar. Like the whole line connected with Armani’s fashion style, the flacon of Eau Pour Homme is inspired by men’s jackets, Eau de Nuit is dedicated to the black tuxedo and Eau d'Aromes celebrates an unconventional chic cut tailored to follow the line of the body (slim-fit).

The fragrance ARMANI EAU DE CEDRE will be available as 50 ml.

I usually hate cumin. Is this armpit smelling territory? lol.

MildZinc

Very unique and nice smelling. The opening reminds me of walking into a fancy soap store, in a good clean way. The tea is revealed a bit more just shortly after opening but can still be smelled in the opening. If you like tea fragrances like I do, then you will probably like this one. Great for warmer seasons if you care about seasons when it comes to fragrances.

Bulkok

It last for 3 or 10h depending on it's good will. Fantastic fragrance. Elegant but casual. Reminds me of newly bought leather shoes when you come home and open the box

dabatch

fantastic versatile yet original creation.

Beautiful scent that is much less green than you would think given the name and the bottle style.

On first spray in the air it smells like Johnson Baby Shampoo for some reason, but quickly develops on skin to a delicate tea fragrance.

I could have sworn there was a tiny bit of oud in there before looking up the notes, but I guess it's just my nose.

Main players are black tea with a hint of suede/leather lurking in the background which gives it a masculine edge. Smells very sophisticated, elegant and clean, no sweetness for those youngins.

Very weak though, which I hope changes once I let the bottle sit for a bit. It'll give you about 3 hours of an intimate scent bubble before disappearing.

I'm just getting to know this one but I'm inclined to think it's almost a shame that so many reviews here lament the presence of this or that ill-defined note beneath the surface. I think that's partly the point. This has just enough cardamom and citrus in the opening for either to find support in the other without taking charge (although the cardamom is spectacular on my skin), just enough cumin and certainly enough rubbery or animalic suede to take on a kind of savoury aspect--I swear I sometimes catch a kind of "brown" smell reminiscent of earthy coffee or something--and to avoid being super sweet or squeaky clean, enough of the lighter, zestier and herbal notes to hold both the cumin and the suede in check, enough tea and violet leaf to impart some ozonic lift in tandem even though neither steals the show, enough resinous wood to back up both that duo and the suede, etc. I'm not sure yet whether I love this fragrance, but I find it interesting and absolutely not hackneyed or generic. I wonder whether in some reviewers' vocabulary "generic" isn't just another word for "subtle", "restrained", maybe "ambient", and/or "just not toxically masculine enough".

Starting with LONGEVITY:

I don’t have this (YET!), I have just sprayed it on my arm a few times when testing fragrances at a store, and I believe me if you want, but this lasts on my skin until the next day. I sprayed it around 6-7 p.m. and it was easily noticeable the next day until 10-11 a.m.

PROJECTION AND SILLAGE:

On MY skin it stays mostly close to the skin, maybe up to 50 cm for the first 3-4 hours, then it becomes a skin scent, which for me, for this type of fragrance, is more than fine.

Sillage is not that bad, I don’t know how but it leaves a trail better than it projects it, at least for the first up to 2-3 hours that is. After that you can catch it when you move around but it’s stays close.

THE SCENT:

I’m going to be honest - for me this is a MASTERPIECE. It’s all about the TEA notes, the SUEDE, the WOODS, along with some LEMON and some CARDAMOM. I usually describe it as “getting inside the house and having a nice cup of bouquet tea after you’ve chopped some wood in a cool afternoon in late autumn”.

It is both somewhat dry and soft, sophisticated. It’s cozy, comforting and inviting.

SEASONALITY and OCCASIONS:

It’s an all-year-round type of fragrance, but I don’t really associate it with Summer so it’s best for the rest of the seasons.

In terms of occasion - it’s also an all-rounder, I can even see this as a date night scent as it is very inviting and it’s not loud, it’s more intimate in its projection.

PRICE: For some reason I still haven’t gotten it, but in Bulgaria it’s between 65 and 85 EUR depending on whether it’s on discount or not.

For ME - and I want to make sure that people understand this - FOR ME, as it performs so well, and I like the scent so much, I think the price is fair.

OVERALL (again, in MY opinion): 9.3/10

SIRRYANROYCE

Armani did an outstanding job with modernizing the "green" genre by creating an incredibly smooth and well-blended scent. Still, the linear Eau de Cèdre is one I go back and forth on whether I am truly a fan. I think the issue for me is the sweetness, likely stemming from the cedar, violet leaf, and cardamon, which can at times be domineering or cloying. But on a chilly or balmy day, or right after a long rainfall, the sweetness is cozy and comforting, and is clean and classy smelling. While I may not wear this on warm, sunny days, it is quite versatile otherwise, as far as formality (casual or formal), age, seasonality (excluding hot days), time of day, and gender (this is definitely unisex IMO). Eau de Cèdre flew under the radar among modern green fragrance releases. I could see this becoming a high-demand bottle in the future once it is no longer produced.

Score: 8 out of 10

Would I purchase a replacement bottle? I would purchase a replacement bottle, however, not a lot available online at the moment.

Dimmuburger

My all time favorite. This is what a man should smell like. Classy, assertive, dominant. Great for a date or the office. Lasts long enough. Don't have to worry about stinking of it for 12 hours, but doesn't fade after 4-6 either.

Lwjm

I would like to refer you all to MaxMellows' review below.

Here's the TL;DR

1. Opens with a mish mash of generic 'perfume' smells, a sort of amalgam of 'department store perfume hall' from back in the days when they existed. Yup. And another reviewer detected iso e super.
2. The underlying scent of tea, wood, suede is attractive. It doesn't project much, although it is easily detectable 8 hrs later.
3. The scent would be fine if it was cheap, but paying a lot of money for something which opens as a generic amalgam, but then becomes pleasant and durable but weak, is poor economics.

All correct. I'd only add that I get a good whiff of cardamom, as in Lancôme Hypnôse - although that's the only similarity.

It's not a bad scent when it reaches the mid/base; it's just not much of a scent at all when it gets there, and you have to walk through the Valley of Generic to arrive. And it's pricey. But I do like it very much.

monsieur.moustache

Not offensive. Not exciting. Just okay...

Exquisite. Hidden gem. A more refined Gucci pour homme 2.

DichterundDenker

There is a lot of ISO in this fragrance. This makes me sad because the subtle tea and cedar notes are actually well done. But ISO makes it seem somehow disharmonious. If you don't have a problem with ISO, you'll find a nice scent here.

MaxMellows

Armani Eau de Cedre is the apex scent of high end department stores in the 90s. It's also a case of classy, but not quite.

This opens with some very fresh, yet obviously aromachemical notes that smell OK, but immediately take me back to when I was kid and would walk past the opening of department store... even as you approached the entrance you could smell a amalgamation of fragrance notes smack you right in the sniffer. That's the vibe I get from the opening, and my least favorite part. It doesn't smell bad, isn't too strong, and doesn't cause headaches at least.

Once the more generic fresh aromachemical feel wears off after about 15 minutes, there is a tea and ozonic freshness that mixes with a realistic suede (not leather) accord that is really excellent. I'm reminded strongly of walking into the shoe department and picking up the smell of high quality suede boots, and just getting a bit of an "elevated" feel. Between the opening and the suede, my department store nostalgia is through roof at this point.

The suede and tea notes, and how they blend is 100% the best and most distinctive part of this. It's very pleasant, and gives off a nice refined feel that is somehow relaxed, yet alert. Unfortunately, this blending is short lived, the tea burns right off and performance takes a dive bomb. The suede sticks around along with a vague freshness, but it mostly fizzles out as it barely reveals "woody" base notes. I'm picking up zero "cedar essence" and no cumin either, it kind of reverts back to aromachem blob.

Which leads me to recommend another scent that I think is a far better bargain, and similar architecture to this. Tous 1920 The Origin, which has stronger tea notes, bumped up cumin and spice, and feels a bit more present throughout, but still presents a versatile, fresh, spice/wood/tea scent that is slightly more masculine. The Armani, in my opinion is gender neutral, but the Tous leans slightly masculine. It's not a dupe or replacement to this, just a recommendation for anyone searching for a solid tea note.

That said, Armani Eau de Cedre would be a no-brainer if the price where $50 USD or under. At over $100, factoring in some of the generic qualities and low performance it's a pass. I would love something similar to Eau de Cedre, that amped up the wood, ozonic, and tea notes and lost a little of generic qualities and traded for some more natural feeling materials. That I would gladly pay over $100 for.

otteromkram

Lots of good descriptions already, but I this is my current easy reach during warmer months.

I added Nishane Safran Colognise to the "reminds me of" section because it does have an essence of that clean, sweet, "new tire" smell, which sounds weird, but is absolutely addictive.

Definitely worth a trying a sample, but also blind-buy worthy.

zebra782

There's just not enough good things to write about this fragrance but I'll give it a try anyway..!!

There are two kinds of people who wear perfumes, the kind who just wanna smell good regardless of what's they're wearing, and the kind who wants to smell unique and wants compliments, and the later kind is basically us, you and I the fragrance enthusiasts.

And to that end Armani Eau de Cedre is as unique as they come, fresh, alluring, and just magnificent.

Whereas Casamorati Mefisto is to me the best tea fragrance ever, Eau de Cedre is just as good, the former smells like green tea and the later like beautiful black tea.

People would go mental over this and gladly pay $200-300 for a bottle if it was made by Xerjoff or Creed.

Rizwan.Ahmed7181

What a Great Leathery Woody Fragrance from Armani House .... it was last piece on Store and Happy to Buy it

SmellMyCheese

I whish I'd found this sooner as this is a gem, and I had to pay over the odds to get hold of a bottle.

Can see why this was discontinued even though its great, it's more of a niche fragrance than it is a designer and the name of it doesn't match the fragrance at all.

Really this is a herbal tea and leather fragrance, and when you first spray it is light and almost not there, ethereal. Not the type of fragrance that will catch the attention of the casual fragrance buyer in Sephora.

This takes time to open up but when it does it's one of the best masculine tea fragrances I've tried, sat on a nice suede feeling and woodsy base. Little bits of citrus in there, lots of sage and just a touch of floral violet (but take your mind away from GPH II, it's not really that type of tea and violet vibe).

I hope the big swathe of discontinuations that Armani have done on this Eau Pour Homme line doesn't mean we wont see more from it, it really is one of the best masculine designer line that dares to live outside of the "blue" stuff.

ascended

I love the scent. I can't smell much Cedar or woods. This is a very simple fragrance - very niche-like - with me only getting 2 big notes: tea as the main note, and leather if I sniff it super close. Although I like it, I'm still not 100% sold on the leather down there, but I can't really smell it unless I sniff the exact spot I sprayed. It does give it a nice masculine edge, but the projection is mainly tea.

There is violet leaf as well but it's not as prominent as the first two.

Girls love it too. I've worn this for a few weeks now, and the reactions from the opposite gender have been overwhelmingly positive. Where I'm from (central Europe), all the girls are absolutely obsessed with drinking boba tea. There are at least like 60 boba shops in my city alone and new ones keep popping up every few months. Eau de Cédre smells like drinking iced tea in the summer, which makes it very reminiscent of it. Thus the power of association.

It's incredibly inoffensive. Ethereal too. Only slightly masculine - in fact, I've even had one girl tell me it smells feminine. I don't agree with that, but I agree with the reviewers below that say women could easily pull this off. I think that some degree of unisexness is necessary if you want a fragrance that is mass-appealing.

Yes. This is super mass-appealing, yet unique at the same time. As far as I know, there are only 2 other easily available fragrances for men with tea as a main note. Bvlgari pour homme and Azzaro Chrome United. I found Bvlgari a bit too old fashioned. Eau de Cedre is more modern.
I haven't tried Chrome United, but based on the reviews the longevity is pretty bad.

Which bring me to my next point - performance. The longevity is good. That's all I have to say. It's not beast mode by any means, but it's decent.

The versatility is also something to commend. I'm planning to try wearing this throughout the year, although sping/summer is definitely more suited for it.

Edit: I wasn't really able to get over the leather here, and rarely wear it nowadays - I just feel like it doesn't fit the fragrance.

asgeirn

It's all about the cardamom and cumin, and for me it's a win win. Blind bought it and it was instant bullseye. But you got to like that cumin note, or else it might be a turnoff. One of my new signature scents.

jcarn90

An absolutely unoffensive and simply pleasant combination of ISO-E Super (Molecule 01) with added tea and spice notes. Totally unisex, but leans slightly masculine. Beautiful, fresh, easy, with decent longevity but not much projection. This is intimate. Day or night wearability. All season appropriate, but may fall short in colder months.

The only criticism I have is that it's rather linear and can come off as flat. This isn't going to turn heads. This is a fragrance for someone who doesn't like fragrances, and there is nothing at all wrong with that. That being said, I crave a little more dynamism from my fragrances these days, but I'll still reach for this from time to time.

Mature and masculine.

I am amazed at the quality of this fragrance. It’s very complex and well-composed. I haven’t even fully figured it out since I get something a little different each time i put it on. I think it may be my wife’s favourite, she complements me every time I wear it. I put this on when I don’t want to put on anything too intense, it’s quite understated but yet it makes its presence known. This could be a great everyday signature. Could be used day or night and for any season (although I don’t find myself reaching for it on warm days). This is ideal for the office. After a few months cumin note has calmed down which I’m happy about and it is more smooth as well. With all this said, this fragrance is not exciting. It’s a strong like, but I’m not obsessed. Certainly we need those types of scents though, especially around the office.

Sharbelabuwarda

What a great fragrance!
Heavy woody-based, which is ISO E SUPER.
In a nutshell, it’s molecule 01 plus the sweetness of the tea, and the spiciness of the cardamom and cumin, along with the soft suede base.
★★★★★

Virusgal

Although promoted as mens fragrance, i find it unisex as there isfreshness within that masculine warm scent. After awhile, it smells fresher and fresher, with a hint of woody or musky scent. It is like fresh masculine scent. Love it!

SprayandRun

Wow!

I blind bought this hidden gem and I am so happy that I did! The scent profile is unique!

Juicy aromatic bergamot combined with a tea note, and I get swiffs of suede. Very deep green and fresh fragrance. Good sillage and performance.

My wife loves it and I get compliments everywhere I go.

GetGUD

First spray, I immediately get a nice, almost surprisingly realistic bitter but soothing Tea note & it's so good! After 10 minutes or so, it dissipates a bit but still sticks around (to my nose) for the majority of the life of the scent. As it calms a bit, a sweet & juicy Bergamot jumps in, sweetening up the tea a bit but nothing too much. The Clary Sage dances in and out for me, adding some fresh greenness that I find accompanies the Tea and Bergamot nicely.

I don't know how much of the middle notes I get, though I do get the general vibes that Violet Leaf, Cardamom & Cumin generally bring to the table.

I'm not at the full dry down yet but I can only imagine how beautifully the Suede & Cedar works with the Tea. If you've never smelled this gem, you need to really enjoy or love a bitter but soothing Tea note to truly enjoy or love this one.

Sphinx_

Smells similar to Armani He in the drydown imo.

jshark7892

This stuff is amazing. Clean, very similar to eau de aromes but I think I like it better. Anytime, anywhere. All the notes are blended perfectly.

Tatou

I love it, and I’m a girl.

Andy the Frenchy

Very nice soothing tea/green fragrance, with a pleasant light leather drydown. I don't really spot the cedar note, to be honest.
As I said, it's nice, but a bit too 'mild' at this point, and the quality is designer, as expected. Might do the job for a clean smelling fragrance, but it smells as an unfinished story to me.
I might have recommended it under $50, but at current pricing of $100+, the 'serving' is a bit light to justify the price imo.

clintjr82

The tea note and the blend with cedar is awesome in this. Worth every penny. Masculine and Green. A casual to dressy elegant scent. A long last scent, that lingers as a skin scent. I have 2 bottles on the way.

RamsesII

Excellent relaxing tea note but performance is horrible

zebra782

This has got to be one of the most underrated fragrances of all time, absolutely beautiful...!!!

| Armani - Eau de Cèdre |

I got this perfume as a gift long before I got into perfumes. Back then I found warm perfumes not so interesting since a lot of older gentlemen were wearing warmer perfumes where I grew up. It was collecting dust on the shelf and 2 years later I go back and get a sniff. This perfume is extremely unique to be a designer.

We have just a bit of citrus notes and a harmony of other things going on but the most prominent note to me here is the black tea and cardamom. Cedar appears a little later to my nose maybe around an hour after application but the tea and cardamom are there to stay.

I've gotten a lot of compliments wearing this perfume outside from people who usually don't really mention anything abt my perfumes.

It's an elegant scent.
You peobably won't be the sexiest smelling guy in the room wearing this when there are other guys wearing Dior suavage or aventus on a rainy day BUT you're gonna be the classiest guy who chose the right peefume for the occasion.

It does smell good on women as well. I'd find it sophisticating if I smell a woman wearing this and I'd find it much more attractive than most other designer female perfumes on a girl.

This one became my signature fragrance rather accidentally.
Was in a perfume store with my GF because I saw they had a nice sale on a bottle I wanted of another fragrance. As we were there we started discovering some more perfumes because there was such a huge sale and we had time to kill so why not?

Then she calls my name and says "you have to try this one! I love it! Do you know it?", and it was Armani Eau de Cèdre in her hand. I had no idea about this perfume and never had I heard of it. As soon as I take a whiff from this I was in love.

Of course that my partner loving it had a influence but I'm exceptionally picky with fragrances. This one was the first time I was instantly surrendered to a fragrance. I am wearing it every day for 3 days and already got compliments in the office. What a wonder.

Dry down is leathery and slightly spicy. Stays alive for 10 hours easily on my skin. If I go to the gym after work it comes back to life in a majestically powerful way that I can't explain.

Easy 10/10 for me.

W&

Never have I (a woman) been a big fan of unisex fragrance, let alone fragrance marketed towards men. Normally I go for the sweet girly fragrances, but this one is soooo good. Love wearing it!

A sea of tea, hay, calmness, and confidence. If this perfume would have been made by any niche brands, it would be way way more hyped.

P.s since it has been discontinued, it;s price exploded from 60 euro to 100 in 2 weeks.

This is a very beautiful scent. I have recently acquired 4 brand new and sealed 3.4 oz. bottles that I may sell. If you are interested please get in touch, thanks.

Nothing special. I can't smell tea here, but at some point i can smell like a very hot note that i thought it's a ginger. It somehow reminds me of L’Homme Ideal Cologne by Guerlain that has been discontinued.

straightupfragman

I reviewed this frag a while ago and gave it 100/100, and it still is that way for me. I guess our good reviews about this frag has been read by sellers everywhere as the price has shot up and doubled what I used to pay for it. We have hyped this one to our own peril. Greedy sods lol
I have no regrets hyping it though, because it is an absolute gem of a fragrance!

zebra782

If this was in a Frederic Malle bottle or a Xerjoff bottle people would be singing its praise day and night, that is how good this is, got my full bottle today and I'm absolutely head over heals.

don't know who created this but whoever it is, they are a master of their craft, I tip my hat to you...!!!

zebra782

The mark of a great fragrance is whether the notes work together or not and how they collectively dry down, you'd think that tea, and black tea at that wouldn't work with heavy leathery and woody notes but you'd be very wrong, I bought a decant of this just to see what the fuss is all about, and I'll admit I wasn't particularly very impressed at first, don't get me wrong I thought it was nice but not great, the black tea note caught me by surprise at first, it is full on tea in your face, gave it 15 minutes and now my hand is glued to my nose.

I think this is maybe the best from the Armani house, forget about stronger with you or the code collections, this is the stuff you want right here, you can thank me later.

The dry down is definitely reminding me of Xerjoff Mefisto with that beautiful green musky touch, I ordered a full bottle and can't wait until I get it.

Beautiful, absolutely beautiful...!!!

VETTIVAER

Green, tart and fruity. The tart citrus note adds an element of interest in the generic green-ness. The sweet fruit at the end makes this unique. Among green scents, this one stands out on its own legs.

Unmodernize

Just smelled it. To me it doesn't smell woody, but very green.

My brain is getting high off the smell trying to figure out what this is. Something new finally.

I can't say that anything I smelled before up to this point reminds me of this. It's just mellow, smooth and "different". Violet usually gives off this deep ephemeral otherwordly vibe that is percieved as original or different, so I would venture to say this has a lot of violet.

The tea is more apparent in dry down

I absolutely love that it's not sweet, that is the nineties vibe people are talking about. We know everything 2010 and forwards became really sweet, either gourmandy sweet or ambergris sweet.

I really like it as I keep smelling my hand. It's so inoffensive and I can't imagine anyone disliking this and those who hate perfume tolerating this, as it's so smooth.

I see this as a great grab for spring or summer, suiting a confident man who wants to smell sporty fresh yet mysterious.

Signature potential.
Mouth watering freshness.
Comforting and soothing.
A true masterpiece - 10/10.

I like it but it changes drastically on my skin, from beautiful opening with sharp cedar and tea to something more mellow which I assume is the violet leaf. It than smells like a very clean bathroom and I do not mean it as a necessary bad thing, lets say a clean bathroom in a very expensive hotel. But I just wish I could smell the tea and cedar in the drydown. Maybe I get nose blind? My friend is getting this frag and I wonder what will I smell on him, I will update.

3 years later! still great! super underrated!

Very nice!

Very clean and fresh smelling. The suede comes through pretty smoothly immediately. There is a slight cologne/aftershave/shaving cream smell. But they're understated or just blend so nicely with the other notes that it works well. The suede and the woody notes are the stand-outs to me.

Nicely masculine and not over the top. It's not so boring as other designer frags but it's also not the most interesting fragrance. The bergamot, lemon, violet, sage I can't really detect. I can't pick out the individual citrus notes but the citrus accord is detectable. I would agree that the woody, aromatic, fresh, and ozonic accords are some of the most pronounced. I do believe the leather accord should be higher. To me, the smell of suede is instantly recognizable. And it smells great! I wish I could get more of the cardamom but hey. Maybe it's just me.

Smells kind of like a department store with lots of new leather, new suede and new garments.

Very dignified masculine fragrance thats unique enough to differentiate itself!

billblm93

this one is so underrated
good quality
green spicy sweet
beautiful tea note
woody drydown
uniseks but leans more towards male (lets say 65%)

azlansajed

Cardamom really shines in this one very similar vibe to YSL La nuit, slightly woodsier.

kalilax

This is a charming scent, with a heavenly scent bubble. However, I don't think it necessarily smells as good when you put your nose to the skin, so I wouldn't recommend it for intimate encounters. I can imagine this as a nice fit for a business meeting, but not an entirely formal occasion.
Also as a comparison, I still prefer Eau de Nuit as a slightly more masculine scent. While the drydowns are very similar, Eau de Cedre can be easily worn by women as well as men.

spiceysauce5

Very nice scent. Not generic at all, but easy to wear. Calming and deep suede with a bit of spice and airiness. Slight ethereal tinge to an otherwise gentleman’s scent. Somewhat formal or business casual, but not boring. For some reason, i feel like this is a summer version of tobacco vanille. Not sure why exactly, but that kind of vibe, just much younger and lighter and less sweet.

The sage is a great open. Cardamom, tea and cedar make this fragrance sweet with a suede/woody heart. I wish it had more longevity and sillage, though.

Edit: I wore this to work yesterday. I kept getting whiffs of it throughout the 8 (kitchen) hours. I got home and could still catch it in the air. Longevity is strong. It's just subtle and beautiful.

FICTIONAL.

That's how I would describe this scent.

I forgot I even had this, got a sample in a trade years ago, after revisiting, I have since got a full bottle, I can't believe I didn't use this more. It seems lots of people use this in the summer, I can't see how personally, this is much more of a fall/winter scent for me.

What does it smell like? Well, the reviewer below me got it spot on, I get library vibes for sure. If you're into traditional shaving soaps there used to be a company called strop shoppe, they made two soaps called 'London morning' and 'Russian tea'. this stuff smells like both combined along with leather and spice. Wonderful and VERY unique. It's a smell that is familiar and comforting, but distant.

I like tea scents, sampled Gucci ph2, Hugo UJ, bvlgari extreme etc , this one I think is the best with a very close second being GPH. I also detect a very, very slight berry note, not sure where that comes from. Also a slight 'custard-esque' note in the middle. Overall this is an easy 10/10 for me, only thing I don't actually like is the bottle, but that doesn't matter much. Atomizer is AMAZING, like all Armani.

heatherrose

For me, the most prominent notes in this fragrance are sage, cardamom, black tea, suede and cedar. It's earthy, woody, a bit herbaceous, a bit sweet, and overall very sexy and addictive to me.

The dry down of this fragrance draws the imagination to the image of a handsome, well-dressed man who carries a leather briefcase who is sitting comfortably reading in an old library. Rain is trickling down the half-open window panes. The faint smell of freshly wet garden herbs creeps in with the breeze from time to time. And every now and again, you swear you can catch the smell of the librarian's freshly brewed cup of tea even though she's on the opposing side of the bookshelves.

So, a friend and I wondered into a Notino today in Vienna. She was browsing the ladies' stuff and I was just killing time looking around the boring men's section. I stumbled upon this Armani in the green bottle and tested it on my wrist. Wow! I am a huge fan of the original Armani Pour Homme and didn't like many of the newer releases since. So I am always skeptical with anything Armani after the 80s. However, this thing is just truly a stand out from the usual crowd. A nice citrus, tea, woods, and a calming creamy base. There is a wonderful progression of the notes mixing and arriving at the final base note. It's like when musicians start playing one by one and finally the whole band gets into the masterpiece. A playful morphing into something wonderful. Many fragrances today start out loud, then become a boring standard middle, and finally arrive at the dry-down which is equally boring. Not Cedre. It's been a couple hours since my friend and I said good-bye and I am finally sipping some Uruguayan mate at home and still get gently aromatic slightly citrus smokey tea hits from my wrist that has Armani on. I know what I'll get for this Summer: Armani Eau de Cèdre by Giorgio Armani.

Fischer84

Tea with lemon very simply. Smells great. I find the longevity to be very good as well. There is something rounded and creamy in the base, maybe a very tiny hint of vanilla. A hidden gem in the fragrance community. No one ever mentions this in the context of tea fragrances.

spartaksci

Great frag. To my nose the violet, cedar and black tea notes are very noticeable. It's a mature scent, and by that i mean refined, not old. Just like every other perfume in this line, it smells classy in a timeless way. Longevity is great, 9h on my skin, which is rare for green frags.

Wanna smell rich and, well, green? This one won't disappoint!

Fragaddict123

Another hidden gem but this time in a very successful brand rather than indie or small brands
This fragrance doesn’t get talked about for some reason
All I know is that when they discontinue it people will go crazy trying to get a bottle
Good thing I have mine already
Longevity is great and after 6 to 7 hours you still can smell some whiffs of the fragrance

fulopdaniel

This is the perfect leather scent. It's floral with that fantasy tea note (that doesn't resemble tea at all, but for some reason perfumers call this uplifting floral smell "tea") and real quality leather, like new shoes, jackets, car seats. It's al all season elegant scent

The architect

I just got this fragrance today after trying a sample last week and falling in love with it immediately !
Beautiful, smooth woody fragrance. Sensual yet professional and very well blended.
I managed to score a bottle for just $65 from Shop.com and I'm happy I did because I see that it goes for about a hundred or so in most other online stores.
I find it similar to Cade by L'occitane although the ingredients are different. It has a bit of Eau de Baux as well but I like it better than the former 2. I was planning to blind buy Cade before I sampled it but I'm now glad I bought this instead. Blind buy worthy in my opinion for the lovers of great woody scents.

almightykcoolj

This is so under the radar. It’s my rainy day scent. It gives me vibes of a magical forest after it has rained. The black tea note is prominent and it gives it its magic.

piyux

Armani Eau de Cedre opens with a moderate projection of mildly sweet, citrusy, spicy, and herb notes. The opening is very fresh, unique, versatile, and very pleasant. The bergamot and lemon create a slightly sweet and citrusy accord that blends with the spicy notes of the cardamon and cumin. The cardamom is a bit more noticeable than the cumin, it produces a sweet, resinous, spicy, and bitter note. The opening is very brief, after a moment the rest of the notes will surface. The violet leaf, black team, cedar, suede, and woody notes gain momentum very fast, the notes aren’t bold but rather mild, yet, they are equally noticeable. The violet leaf creates a floral, powdery, and ozonic note that feels breeze-like, and fresh; the black tea in this fragrance comes across as very natural, earthy, sweet, slightly spicy, smokey, and very aromatic. The suede is also noticeable and it is the most persistent of the notes in the far dry down, a soft powdery, leather-like, not bold but mild. The cedar is, among the woody notes, the featured and fresh woody accord. The fragrance has a simple opening to dry down change, the opening features mostly the citrus and spicy notes, but just for a short moment, then then the citruses take a step down, allowing the rest of the notes to surface. The last noticeable change is the projection which takes a small step down to moderate to low. Once Armani Eau de Cedre EDT has reached its full dry down, it can be summarized as a moderate to low projection, mildly sweet, suede, woody, cedar, black tea, violet leaf, and spicy cardamom fragrance. The fragrance feels slightly bitter, casual, diurnal, dry, earthy, elegant, fresh, gentle, green, mild leathery, masculine, moderate-quality, modern, nicely-blended, nocturnal, ozonic, playful, mildly powdery, refreshing, short-lived, mildly sweet, unique, versatile, weak, woody, and pleasant.

I went over the appearance of the bottle but the composition was also an unpleasant surprise. Like the perfumes my grandmother had. Aged and smother. Like a closet full of mothballs. From another century.

mutatismutandis

I thought I'd get Eau de Cedre while it was still easy enough to get hold off. As it got discontinued a couple of years ago I thought I'd try it before the prices go into orbit just in case I fancied a full, large bottle.

It opens with a bouquet of lemon and bergamot, sage and cedar, cardomom and cumin, with the latter two providing a sweetness and spiciness that add colour. Ten minutes or so the violet leaf emerges. 25 minutes in the woody notes are hinted at. All in all, it's a very nice opening. 45 minutes in the suede gently wafts into the background and once it settles in, there is a lovely, linear scent which keeps projecting until around two hours in.

Just after the two hour mark the scent begins to fade. The violet leaf and sage, cedar and cardamom remain the main notes at this stage. Three hours in it is a skin scent. It takes a long time to fade away completely - there's a good eight to nine hours duration in this perfume altogether.

If this was still in production I might get a bottle but as it has been discontinued I think I shall let it go by. However, I'd be perfectly happy to recommend it to someone happy to spend the money. There's probably about one more year of reasonable prices online so if you like it, grab it while you can. It's a nice rounded, smooth, well-blended scent and a good piece of perfumery. One for an elegant gentleman, I think. I wouldn't wear it in the summer but I think it suits the rest of the year.

DrNDJas

The marketing team at Armani missed the mark a bit here. There is only a hint of cedar, if any at all- certainly not enough to make it into the name of the fragrance! And if there is a "jungle accord" in this, it must be a concrete jungle. Eau Cedre is highly urbane, metrosexual, even mild-mannered...I suppose they did get the "velvet jacket" image correct. But pettiness aside, it is lovely. Do not expect a citrus/aromatic experience like one gets with the original Eau, though it lists similar notes. For me, the tea and floral accords dominate this fragrance with only hints of some of the other notes listed. It shares a similar vibe with several female perfumes I have smelled in the past, making this come across as quite unisex. But it is an extremely stylish and smooth operator, not a single rough patch from opening to dry down. Cedre is a daring recent release from Armani as it avoids the heavy vanilla/tonka/ambroxan/cashmeran/etc trends of the last ten years. Bravo for that! Great fragrance for work/classy events where you want to smell subtly superb.

mikemuscles21

This has now become a staple in my wardrobe. Mane's Pure Jungle Essence gives it that spicey kick that I love. But sweet cardamommy spices, not peppery. Very smooth, sophisticated, and relaxing. It took me months to realize this. I think because of the way it was marketed and the name, I kept thinking "green". But now that I have gotten to know it well, I think warm tones instead.

Chao

Hot, hot hot, maddening hot! My husband bought it and we both are very happy he did it :)

straightupfragman

There are fragrances that give me different kinds of feeling, Armani Eau de Cedre is one that makes me feel happy.
It oozes class with its fresh green almost powdery combo which settles into something that is just pleasant to the nose. Projects well and stays on me.

I hardly re-purchase fragrances just because I am very experimental and like to keep trying new stuff, but Eau de Cedres is one of the very few in my collection that I have repurchased up to 5 times or more. Probably the second most re-purchased frag bottles in my pile just because it really emotes a happy feeling while also smelling great. Every man to his taste, I guess :)

100/100 for me

Bison blues

Absolutely one of my favorite scents! It is a little soft and might lean a little feminine, but it is a beautiful fragrance. It is stupid to discontinue.

mtmer

One of the smoother rides in my collection, if not for Code would probably be the smoothest. And speaking of Code, that citrus is here in Cedre, it still works beautifully, and it still has a habit of saying hello when you may have thought "goodbye"...that is the part I enjoy most, the tiny squeeze into the Black Tea. I get the sense that this all sits on a pillowy bed of various wood shavings...always supporting, never dominating. Have truly enjoyed this one since Christmas Day, and will probably admire it from afar once warmer temps return.

One issue, and it is for bottle aficionados: I have no emerald/"Heineken" greens on my shelf, and, yeah, I admit I was kinda excited for one...but this is not, it is much more of a Jade/Olive in both real and artificial light. Still a standout in this regard, and like the fragrance, itself, pure class.

SocialAssassin

To me, the best Armani fragrance. It's a simple and linear composition but it is done to perfection. The tea and silky suede in this beauty is just simply exquisite. Its clean, its gentle, its subtle and very classy. I revisited a decant I had stashed away and immediately purchased myself a bottle. Such a tragedy to hear it is now discontinued. Seems to be a common trend for designer offerings.

halalula1234

Lost in the woods - Green, luscious, freshly fallen and broken logs in the middle of a deep dense wood surrounded by gigantic trees that makes you feel like you're the size of an ant (think giant giant pine forests in Canada/Siberia etc). It's twilight, the air is cold, crisp, zingy and damp and there is an abundant of fog and you can't see the setting sun due to the limited sunlight allowed in as the foliage is so dense, extending all the way up to as far as your eyes can see. This scent is the cold, damp, green, luscious, mossy, and woody aroma that you inhale through your nose, being in the middle of this damp ancient forest.

SentientScents

I sampled this and loved it. So I bought a decant, and it just didn't feel the same. Too subtle and not long lasting. Super disappointed. :(

Scent : 8/10 i hate the opening

Longevity : stay over 12 hours on my skin
Value : 10/10 i bought 100 ml for 25€

masako_30

Chameleonic fragrance that changes according to the seasons.
If in summertime it's all about lemon and bergamot to me, now that season hasn't yet taken off I can clearly smell a great black tea note. Suede (not smelled in summer) fulfill a composition that I would otherwise have called citrus.
In Eau de Cèdre there's a very slight hint of Bvlgari Black, to me, that unfortunately I never owned.
I could go back to this. So I'm glad I tested it again.

SpeakEasy

To me, this really smells clean. Like high-quality laundry soap, or aftershave, or body lotion. I get why people say it's a male scent, but I find it could easily be used, lightly, to make a sophisticated clean scent on women's clothing. To me, it's a classic linen scent, which isn't in my wheelhouse. There are other notes though. I do pick up on the suede and cardamon at first. The Cedar just doesn't smell like the real thing to me. The pure and natural Cedar is totally different to my nose.

ahsif

It is a good fragrance with good lasting power.

leaves a nice sillage.. very masculine.

PERFECT for a warm, rainy day

sasa.ss

Class in a Glass.

Smells like high quality shaving soap, deep green and warm at the same time. Makes my clothes smell clean, lasts very long without changing but it is not boring at all.
On skin it doesn't smell nearly as good as on clothes.

Updated version of old skul barbershop frags, with absolutely no trace of anything old.

preppydirtbag

Sharp, almost sour--gross.

giuseppe98gp83

The secret of this little gem? The tea. Without that it would be bare and ugly. Like an angel behind which lies an evil smile. Fantastic and refined!

ReneeW1

My boyfriend and I went searching for a new cologne for him and I got a sample of Giorgio Armani Eau de Cedre. Boy am I glad I did. I love this scent.

Now, the first time I smelled it on him I hated it. But that was immediately after the initial spray. I felt like the woody cedar notes were overpowering and suffocating any other notes.

About 20 minutes later it was like a completely different fragrance. It was still masculine and woody with cedar notes but a wonderful sweetness had developed and it perfectly complimented the cedar. I absolutely love this scent!

If you smell this cologne and you dont like it, just give it a bit to settle and see if it changes for you.

smellsbells

clintjr82

What an awesome tea and violet scent. A very good designer scent. This blows everything out of the water in this category. It has class and sophistication. This is masculine no doubt from top to bottom. A Tea, Cedre, and Bergamot stunner. A masterful blend. My lady loved it from the first sniff. I received a compliment walking around the store with the initial spray. I ended up buying a bottle. This is well worth a try. This is underrated and overlooked.

heltorn

Not a huge variety of notes, but overall a very deep and noble scent. It's like a good speyside single malt scotch, but in fragrances.

Tazahr

Regardless of the notes list similarities, this really smells close to gucci pour homme II.

Both are for cold weather, very calming, sweet, elegant and sophisticated.

Gucci is more original and complex while Armani's performance is better.

DaedalusX

This is actually one of my fav colognes that I use on a daily. It's wood cedar bomb that's hugely underated, and I can't stress this enough. It's more of a nightime scent, and works best in the fall and winter seasons. I bought this bottle as a blind buy, and I spray this in the morning, and when I wake up the next day, my pillow still stinks of this stuf. That to me is a great cologne. These days there are too many colognes that cost $100 plus but don't even last a few hours. It has a little bit of spice too, but not enough to be considered an old man scent.

Hugo Montez

This is an underrated fragrance. FOr me, it's not about the ceder. It's a black tea, a little bit of suede. The smell reminds of a very expensive leather car seat. It's dry and sweet. Very pleasant and super underrated.

8/10 for smell
8/10 for longevity and projection
9.5/10 for uniqueness
8.5/10 overall rating

dimsal

Armani Eau de Cedre is virtually identical to Armani Eau de Nuit except for the very strong balmy cedar and tea-ish notes in the opening which mostly disappear in drydown although they make this newer scent just a bit less dry overall. While these scents are respectably elegant I perceive too much chemical apple in both (which I guess could also be read as a combination of violet, tonka and lemon notes) and since I don't like apple in perfumes it's just non-wearable for me, so the small decant I bought will stay full in my collection.

FLoA

Bought this one on a cold, cold winter day. Sampling, it felt very warm and comforting. As other reviewers have said, this is not a typically sharp, woody cedar. It is very mellow, and mingles with many other notes which, to me, seem rather on the sweet side. I usually wear this one in winter, during the day (even though i find it more suited to the night), but i do not consider it as an everyday fragrance, it is rather heady, so i prefer to keep it for special occasions, and sometimes at work. I do not find myself reaching for Eau de Cèdre very often. On me, it lasts quite long, projection is average. It is, overall, very smooth, and has a serious-yet-relaxed vibe to it.

ZT30

I bought a sample of Eau de Cedre from eBay along with the other "eau's" and have used this one all up. It's surely a good designer woody citrus. The wood isn't too dark or deep, it's just right, and the citrus behind it is pretty nice. Lasts a good 6-8 hours, and projects decently. It'll get compliments as its inoffensive, but isn't worth the price for me. $30 for 3.4 oz seems right to me, but this goes for 60+ on eBay. It's certainly a nice fragrance, but not full bottle worthy for me at its current price

ChristopherRiley

An initially bright, citrus fragrance which very soon morphs into a musky, woodsy tea fragrance...

I applied 6 heavy sprays

0 - 15 mins. 6 inch projeciton. This comes out all fresh, citrus and invigorating, with hope of something good

15 mins - 3 hours - 4 inch projection. This soon morphs into its real character, which is a basic light tea with woods. There is some musk and it feels synthetic

3 - 8 hours. kin scent with little to no projection. It does last quite a long time on the skin though. Becomes more of a tea musk

Great opening which soon goes alas

Not for me

krestan

UPDATE: I received the bottle for christmas 2016, it is still my favourite cologne. I will likely never find anything anywhere near as good. It is amazing.

I don't actually own the bottle, however I sample it at Sephora and Shoppers Drug Marts quite frequently. If I could bathe in this fragrance, I would. I've never loved a fragrance this much since Hugo Boss Energise which got me into fragrances.

It starts off with a very floral-citrus scent which is nice, however over about half an hour the cedar and sage start to come through which starts to bring the frag to life. Then at over an hour in, the scent truly blossoms. It turns into the best smell I have ever smelled. The floral stays, but it's accompanied by a spicy aroma and a very light sweetness. I would say the dry down is akin to freshly baked cinnamon buns, but not a synthetic recreation, the real thing.

I tend to wear this fragrance on my clothes, rather than skin as it projects better and clings longer. Quite a good sized silage, arm and a half length. I've gotten many compliments, many more than any other fragrance.

CUBANAC

Really nice fragrance, i got that La'Nuit De L'homme vibe from it...

uronto.gang.chil

My skin is dry and some Fragrance has so low longevity that i can barely manage 4 or 5 hours. but with this Fragrance on my skin it has longevity of 8 hours plus. for test i used it on dress and it has longevity over 24 hours. awesome. YSL La Nuit de L'Homme minus sweetness and longevity problem.

It's my new prey or I'm the prey of this scent since I tried in the shop:) The initial smell is like the older brother Eau de nuit, without pink pepper and not as powdery, fresher, lighter. It's very inviting and seductive like the predecessor, easier to wear in hot weather. At the same time I feel someting weird in the composition, I think the sage, I can smell the same note in Armani Lui, so yes the sage plays the other role beside of cardamom. After couple of hours smells like cereal, not too sexy at this part, but I love the first 1-2 hours. The performance is average or lower, lasts on my skin about 4-5 hours, sillage is closer to the skin:( Perfect in Spring/Autumn:)

victor.ali

People tend to dislike scents because they are jealous.
This particular scent is extraordinarely blended and a true compliment magnet. I get a lot of black tea vibe, like the best black tea i ever had.

Projection is decent. DECENT MEANS DECENT. Other people will notice you wearing this !

Dezine0

I have been wearing it for a few days. Call me crazy but after an hour or so, it starts to smell like a milder version of Creed Tabarome on my skin. It is very soft though. Nevertheless, for the moment, it is my everyday cologne and I really enjoy it. One negative is that the bottle feels cheap especially compared to Creed or Chanel.

bronstein

Looks promising but disappoints. There's no freshness of the woods that you would perhaps expect, and in addition it lacks depth. Could have been a contender but remains too insecure.

For National women´s day I bought this to my husband - sounds like a nonsense, but I like it so much, that I needed him to smell in that awesome way - so in the end it was a gift for me ;). I must say that the scent is very pleasant - it is not overwhealming, very mild but with quite good longevity - on his skin at least 6hrs, on cloth even days. Actually I wish to smell the same, so I´m going to try it on myself soon. From the notes cedar is very dominant for me, in that sweet way I remember from the Yves Rocher Blue Cedar cologne which I used to wear 10 years ago.

mikemuscles21

I really like this new one. And I am not generally a fan of Armani fragrances. I don't know why I get a hint of mint in the opening.

grug

It's nice, but not enough cedar given its namesake. I find the cardamom, suede and violet to be the most prominent notes and the end result sits somewhere between eau de nuit of the same house and fan di fendi. The cedar does become more apparent in the drydown, as expected, but I really did expect something drier with perhaps a slightly herbal touch. Certainly give it a try, but don't blind buy expecting the classic woodshop style cedar.

mikemuscles21

I do not understand all the dislike for this one. I sampled this one in store today & I really like the scent. I have not given it a full wearing but I am tempted to get it. It is not too strong. A very smooth trendy cedar with the other notes. I think it's really great on first impression.

I usually am not a big fan of Armani fragrances. There is a common note in many of them. and sometimes something sweet that puts me off. But I really like this one. (Something like Armani's version of the "Guerlainade")

SO I guess try before you buy it.

amirali0072000

Eau de Cedre smells masculine,classy,elegant
woody and aromatic..
This is one of the most beautiful cedre with a few cardamon base fragrance i have ever smelled.(a clean spicy cedar and cardamom)..
their are some citrus notes in the opening(lime, bergamot) however the citrus is not very noticeable..opening is a nice fresh herbal sage note which is a bit more prominent.
After a few minutes it gets warmer and darker(better).. There are some strong spice notes of cumin and cardamom in the heart(i smelled)..
It is a good perfume for wearing in cold weather.
The longevity is very well.
The projection is medium.
thx

I'd love to echo some of the positive reviews here and say that this new release from Armani is an antidote to the bland designer releases we are constantly subjected to but sadly I can't.
I wanted to like this the minute I saw the bottle and was kindly furnished with 3 sample vials but it is sadly lacking and not really the classic cedar I had hoped for.
It's a modern accord of fresh citrus opening, synthetic or faux, leathery, violet, sage...lavender...herbal...I don't know what? The composition is a little muddled for me and when settled becomes a clean spicy cedar and cardamom...but 'something' is just off about it...and that I actively don't like.
Rare because I'm fairly easily impressed and like to think I go easy on many fragrances, slated by other critics in the fragrance community but nothing about Armani Eau de Cedre makes it stand out from the crowd. That would even be okay if it had something I liked in there to redeem it but it doesn't.
I've tried it in store and once at home but I will persevere with my samples and who knows? perhaps I'll change my mind about it? For now though I'm not impressed.

This arrived today, the first spray was
very good, it reminded me a lot of Tom
ford noir for a while, but it dries down
very fast to this citrus woody thing whitch
is not bad, but you all propably have smelled
something similar before so my advice is, try before
you blindbuy.

Meh, as much as I loved the deep green bottle the moment I saw it, I wasn't so inspired after testing it.

The opening is impressive but it dries down really quickly to a very generic citrus-woody after shave.

I am rooting for Eau d'Aromes if you are after an Armani perfume.

WoW the projection on this one is solid rock. This is such a breakthrough IMO considering the large amount of crap designer fragrances being released lately. I won't say the smell is great but very good. I could associate it with another fragrance from late 80's/early 90's but can't remember which one.

DO NOT test it on paper , I did and I hated it. Don't be shy, go to Sephora hold the bottle and spray yourself out to appreciate it. Definitely worth the try. Bravo Armani!

@Endymion - Eau de Cedre is not soft at all! Please take my advice and go test this out a bit more, perhaps on skin.. It projects very very well and it lasts on my skin all day.. I wake up the next morning and I can still smell it on my skin and that rarely happens.. Eau de Cedre really does perform very well, and I am glad it does because it is gorgeous! As far as comparing it to CK One I can't help but laugh at that, they have absolutely nothing in common at all! Eau de Cedre not only has nothing in common with CK One but Eau de Cedre is in it's own league.. I think your nose might have been playing tricks with you or perhaps this fragrance should be tested on skin..

Guys, if you miss Kenzo Power, this Eau de Cedre is for you. A more masculine, spicier version of Power. Moreover, if you want unsweet La Nuit de L'homme, this one could be your choice as well.

It starts off with a prominent cumin note, reminding of Declaration. But that's feeling just for a minute. Soon the scent turns into creamy mix of cardamom, cedar and violet, smelling like spicy tea with a milk, strongly reminding of creamy Kenzo Power or of YSL La Nuit de L'Homme minus its sweetness. The longevity is really good.

In fact, Eau de Cedre is closer to Eau de Nuit than to Eau d'Aromes and regular Eau Pour Homme. Nice and unexpected fragrance.

Was looking for something off the beaten path today and noticed the rather 'non-offensive' eau cedre sitting next to the new Armani Code 'ice' stuff. One squirt, and my nose was assaulted by a punch combo of fresh spicy cedar which is still going strong as hell sometime later. This stuff projects well, and lasts 'forever'. If you like fresh n spicy, this is a winner.

I'm not getting the citrus notes; cumin and cardomom are as far up the pyramid as my nose goes. On dry down, the spice really kicks in, with a hint of musk, and some of that black tea that's noted.

Not for me, as I'm not a fresh n spicy guy, but can still appreciate this for the quality masculine fragrance it is.

I was at a profumeria and as I was looking at the shelves of the same old fragrances I saw this beautiful new green bottle of Armani Eau de Cedre.. So I gave it a couple sprays to my wrist and this is my first impression.. Eau de Cedre opens up very fresh, their are some citrus notes in the opening however the citrus is not very noticeable.. The citrus is just there to help add a fresh tone to the opening along with a nice fresh herbal sage note which is a bit more prominent.. After a few minutes the fragrance gets warmer and darker.. There are some strong spice notes of cumin and cardamom in the heart so if cumin bothers you than this fragrance may not be for you.. There is a very nice prominent suede note in the base that runs throughout the scent and along with the cedar and smoky black tea it lends a smooth dark velvety vibe to this fragrance.. If the scent of a velvet jacket is what they were trying to portray than they did it well, a nice dark green velvet jacket.. Eau de Cedre smells very masculine, classy, and elegant.. Overall Eau de Cedre is a very nice and well done fragrance.. I find it to be quite different and unique from most recent releases.. Eau de Cedre is definitely a bit more mature than Eau de Nuit or Eau de Aromes so keep that in mind.. It almost smells like something that would have been released in the late 90s era.. I was impressed with this fragrance, I definitely look forward to getting to know it better in the future.. Eau de Cedre is the first Armani fragrance that has intrigued me to the point of wanting to buy a bottle..

I believe Fragrantica should do something. I cant say what exactly.. maybe place an advice under the logo with neon effects with written on for exp:

SAMPLES OF A FRAGRANCE CAN BE IN TOUCH AND IN SNIFF WITH SOME PEOPLE WORKING IN PERFUME BUSINESS OR WITH A CERTAIN LABEL EVEN MANY MONTHS BEFORE THE OFFICIAL ARRIVAL ON THE PUBLIC MARKET. THAN DO NO BOTHER IF SOMEONE CAN TALK AND VOTE ABOUT A FRAG IN ADVANCE AND YOU CAN NOT.

Come on where do you live? works like that in any business. Previews of a product are around before the product itself.

Just to say I have personally tested it.

Result: a Badedas Of the 90s.

This Armani smells like a classic shower gel or deodorant, plus this awful note of "who knows what and: why?" of caraway (not cumin I guess), cardamom.. or something else that give to this fragrance an overtone of garage, sludge, automotive grease, kerosene taste.
So you feel in undertone and beneath this pleasant sweet, even if at the same time ordinary, cedar musk combination like Venezia Uomo by Biagiotti, which is more rich and multisound, plus this mechanical engines smell that come up and stay highter with the main composition.
They must have added that boost maybe to give some rude masculine tone to this cologne, but at the end the effect is terrible.
Can't say. On the mouillette is better. Nothing special.
A classic simple daddy cedar scent ruined with dirty accents.
P.S.: synthetic as hell .. Iso E Super of course
. A friend of mine says "It is a fragrance for farmers" cause of the clary sage and aromatic smell :)

I'm definitely interested in new Armani fragrances, and this seems to hit the right spots in terms of ingredients. Shame it doesn't launch until late August, would've thought this could be a great Summer fragrance.

I've always liked the original Eau Por Homme - however, the "reissue" was a disappointment, as was Eau d'Aromes, so I have some reservations.

Armani did a decent job with the "Eau" line so far.. This Eau de Cedre looks like it may be something nice.. The green bottle looks beautiful and intrigues me.. The notes look like this Eau de Cedre could be an interesting scent.. I will keep my eyes open for this one, and will try it as soon as I run into it.. I am waiting for Armani to release something that I would like to make a part of my collection..
