The architect

To me, it smells like a lighter version of Givenchy PH of the same quality but without the fresh citrusy aspects.
Nice, clean, safe and elegant scent!

This isn't a well known scent, but it is very nice. Lasts on skin for a long time for an edt. I agree with Detman101's description of this smelling "classy". This was gifted to me a few years ago & I really enjoy it.

Skylark

I like this, it's classy and multi faceted, very decent sillage and longevity not huge but enough that you get nice whiffs throughout the ride. To my nose it has some very similar elements to Chanel Bleu de Chanel Eau de Parfum, which I hold in high regard and I was pleasantly surprised to find this shared some of that DNA.

Detman101

Just received my bottle of this today and wow...lemme tell ya...
Holy friggin shinola...this is sooo CLASSY!!!
Now, I havent' smelled the original "Diamonds" frag, but this one...It has scent notes reminiscent of another Armani frag I had back in high school..."Armani - HE" but there's this underlying powdery note in the mix that just turns this fragrance into a DREAMBOAT fragrance on drydown!! The other notes...the cacao, the benzoin and the pepper turn this fragrance darker than "HE" was...but doesn't overpower the smoothness of this fragrance in drydown phase.

This is like a refined and luxury version what "Givenchy - Play" wanted to be...almost a "Version 2.0" of it. The level of Pepper in this one, compared to "Givenchy - Play", is much lower so there isn't that constant pervasive cloud of irritating pepper surrounding you for the life of the frag wear. I'm learning that the "Cacao" note in fragrances will never really ever smell like Chocolate...unless it's "Dior - Homme Intense" (Still don't understand how they pulled that off so perfectly) The cacao note in this fragrance gives it a warmth...though not a chocolatey smell. Very hard to describe as it's barely there...but it's there for a little while.

This fragrance is just...wow...it doesn't seem to project a lot, but the scent bubble it gives is one of the most luxuriously soft but attention-grabbing auras that I've ever experienced. It still projects nicely after drydown for hours! I've been wearing this on my left forearm (2 sprays) for the past 4hours and it's still projecting that soft powdery woody aura all around me. This one is a DEFINITE winner!!

I'm wearing this one to work on Tuesday next week...Will definitely have to layer it with a vanilla frag though. I'm sure this will turn heads!

More to follow...

03SEP22 UPDATE:
Okaaaaay...Didn't make it to Tuesday, lol.
I layered this with my favorite vanilla frag in a 1:1 ratio and wore it out Friday and today (Saturday). Compliments from the wife, compliments from friends, compliments at walmart, Loews, the butcher shop and at the gas station.
This one STAYS in the rotation and I'm picking up a few backup bottles as well.

Smells like Sauvage and Hugo Boss The Scent. Gorgeous masculine scent, the cocoa benzoin heart is just amazing. The woods and moss in the base give me an Aventus dry down. I’m wearing this on a hot NYC day and it works very well, and once you enter air conditioned rooms it adjusts perfectly. My girlfriend instantly complimented it.

DSauvage

Finally they brought it back. And not limited edition no more. Thank you emporio

I agree with many of the folks who say this is mass appealing etc - but while I agree with that, I think this is different from many other mass appealing scents.

First - this is not a dense fragrance by any means. It’s sweet - and definitely not aquatic - but does have an airy-ness about it. While fragrances like one million lucky - or one million price feel heavy, spicy - this does not - and I really like that quality.

I do feel a fruity/chocolate type sweetness - and I think that’s fairly unique for a men’s fragrance as well.

I may be in the minority on this one - but as far as I’m concerned, this is at the top of the totem pole when it comes to designer scents.

If you’re into sweet, airy scents - look no further. Great sfuff!

Armani Diamonds Black Carat for men is a sort of generic cologne DNA mixed with woods, cocoa, and strawberries. The original Armani Diamonds for men, without listing strawberry as a note, sort of has that vibe to it. This was first pointed out to me by Jim Quantrell of YouTube and since then it’s been difficult for me to ignore, and the same goes for the Black Carat flanker, which is similar to the original but darker with more cocoa and more gourmand sweetness in general. It’s reasonable dense, pleasant, and along the lines of Chanel Allure Homme Edition Blanche, combines a safe men’s cologne DNA with gourmand touches.

In my opinion, Black Carat is currently a little overpriced on FragranceNet, at $55 for 50ml, but large 75ml bottle of Black Carat or the original Diamonds under $50 is a great deal and it’s a nice option. It was a successful blind buy while on clearance at Kohl’s, and the Club flanker is nice as well, but the original is still the most interesting and versatile, I’d say.

Contrary to other reviews,I don't get any sweet notes.I'd say that this fragragrance is "spicy and woody", cocoa note is subtle, this not a gourmand fragrance. I think this scent is lacking vanilla note.

alharam2007_co

great fragrance from armany

just i like it too much

a very interesting scent.

I agree, this is a more intense version of the original. It has a sweet fresh opening that settles down into something coconut-esque, and I get the wood and amber notes, but its fairly weak. Black Carat has the better longevity and projection than the original; however, it too faded quickly into a skin scent.

I really like the overall scent. However, the crappy sillage and longevity are disappointing.

nonsisa

Diamonds really has some similarities with JPGs Kokorico.

The cacao note is the most prominent one. Then you have the sichuan pepper and woody amber notes that seam kind of synthetic.

On one hand I cannot really hate it as its a well done scent but on the other I would not want to praise it as well, as its almost a copy of another scent.

Tuvok

For me it is simply a more intense version of the normal Diamonds which I also enjoy but I find it to weak to use during winter or fall. Black carat seems to be more masculine, is more woody after the drydown. On my skin longevity is 6 hours. At first projects pretty well, then after 2 hours it stays closer to skin but people around you can smell it when they are inside your personal space (i guess each one of you has a different personal space radius), so perfect for dates or house parties. Anyway I guess it is classy enough to wear for an important meeting. It won't offend other people as it is not controversial. It is a pleasant smell, better then the original. Very rare, not available in stationary fragshop. I got mine in an online perfume shop for 190 PLN (+-40 EUR) for 50 ml bottle.I like how the bottle looks, but the spritzer is bad, you have to push hard to get a small spritz. Maybe it is just with my bottle, but it's bad anyway.

Love the opening...the dry down really close to the skin and nothing else special happening

Black Carat is a perfect dupe of Kokorico by JPG.
They are both woody juices with similar spicy edge and rich sweet cocoa note lingering in the background.
Very versatile – perfect for an office day if applied sparingly, as well as an evening for two if applied with a more generous hand.
Black carat lasts ages and has highly detectable silage.
It is truly addictive, I simply cannot stop myself from sniffing my wrist and a blotter.
Even though I personally do not mind wearing male fragrances – I would stay clear from Black Carat as to me, the fragrance feels essentially and exclusively masculine, it screams A MAN that is A MAN – powerful, confident, strong, ambitious.
I hope my man will love it.
I certainly will, on him.
Money well spent, that's for sure.

black carat definitely reminds me of the diamonds version but only in the opening though sweet bergamot with pepper give it a sweet vibe but suddenly changes into something I cant describe the cacao and benzoin middle notes gives it something I cant describe spicey sweet?? I guess.. but pleasant, drydown a bit of woodiness and still sweet mixed, amber definitely noticeable definitely a lot darker than the original and better composition over all from top to buttom a love for me on this one a very versatile fragrance daytime or night my rate.

longevity solid 6-8 hours 8/10
projection/sillage moderate 7/10 I don't understand the voting for heavy but just moderate imo.
overall smell a solid 8/10 for even 8.5 solid composition.
uniqueness 7/10 nothing very unique it will remind you of the original but indeed better.
price vs quality this is were this fail I got mine for 50us bucks 50ml and that very pricey well all with Armani frags 5/10 on this one
versatility night or day preferred cold weather but I think a good summer nights frag as well.

bazil14

the original diamonds pour homme dna is present in this only this is mor deep and of better quality than the original it feels more like a new and improved rather than a original new fragrance as if it should have been an intence version none the less this is quality juice worthy of anyones money definarly a autumn winter fragrance that opens with a intence zesty choclaty vibe that stays pretty consistant throughout and a real nose pleaser to both sexes longivitys very good projection is also good but in a soft mellow way verdict 9/10 get it while its still around

Diamonds is a unique usage of bergamot. It's quite fruity and only mildly bitter. There's a bit of smoke in here. Enough to smell it, not so much as to turn off most consumers. To me this is more about benzoin than chocolate. I get it, faintly, but I don't see it as a cacao bomb. More like capitalizing on a trendy note.
I think this is nice, if not terribly unique. I like it better than the majority of newer men's fragrances I've tested recently, but I don't feel a need to own it.

PaulDJ

I'm really into the Original Diamonds, liked the summer flanker as wel but this is my faveourite of them all, better longevity, projection and a deeper, woodier and mature smell. This is so classy it's unreal.

BLOODHOUND

I had the original Diamonds pour homme which I enjoyed but never fell in love with. This latest audition to the line gives me all the things that I felt were missing from the original composition. The woodiness and the cocao have been amped up giving this more depth, class and masculinity over the original.

For those that haven't yet wrapped their nostrils around this, it opens with a sweet citrusy/strawbery like opening which eventually gives way to the cocao and the woods. It is a fairly rich fragrance more suited to cooler weather or nights in my opinion.

I haven't worn it long enough to comment on projection or longevity but it seems reasonably strong.

All in all a good bottle of juice. Shame Armani fragrances cost so much. I can only assume the juice contains the blood of unicorns and fairy dust to warrant such a steep price. Honestly I'm considering just smelling like sweat from now on. It is far cheaper. Alternativly I might start wearing Drakkoir Noir. You can pretty much get an 800ml bottle of that for £1.56 these days.

norsende

Smells good and kinda classy, very similar to the original Diamonds but a bit darker. Longevity is way better on my skin, at least 6-7 hours although it doesn't project much. Good for every day use I'd say, but works for nights out too.
