Sometimes less is more.
And unfortunatelly, Twilly is a perfect example.

On paper the ingredients are perfect to my taste.
But the tuberose note is too strong and the parfume is too sweet, canceling the spiciness of the ginger.

I struggled with it for a year, testing it in variate weather, time of the month and varoius moods, but unfortunately parted ways today.

Missed potential for such a big luxurious brand.
Or actually, is this how big money smell today??

BikiniSoTeeny

Proper replacement for my fav Poeme by Lancome, which is discontinued. Its not a dupe, but they fill the same place and purpose, lush, powdery flowers, warm, classy, sweet (not gourmand sweet). This one works better in spring-summer tho, and Lancome was projecting like crazy in cold weather. Girly elegance!

j.andresminor

My mother had it but she gave it to my aunt, it is like the flowers that you put on a pedestal on a church, not too strong but it lingers a buttery smell... she and me, said NO

sam9877

This is a strong feminine scent to me and I love it. I don't even care if other people like it on me, I like it on me and it makes me happy. Very surprised to see such a mixed bag of reviews with this one, must be one to try before you buy.
I've just opened the lid and without spraying, to me the sandalwood is the most prominent note. Maybe a bit too much for summer or hot humid weather. The staying power on this is just phenomenal. I'll quite often use this when I plan to use it or a few days in a row as I just love how powdery it smells the next day. I have sprayed it on clothes and washed them they still had hints of this left in a really pretty way. It smells like a younger version of a perfume an older woman would wear for a special occasion when she wants to be noticed. Probably also a bit too heavy for the office but could be pleasant if sprayed the day before to give it a chance to settle. I wouldn't immediately call this classy or sophisticated as its a bit loud, but I would call it intentional and luxurious. 8.5/10

I should've known. I cannot do with the tuberose. Way too strong begining to end. If you're not a fan of heavy white flowers, especially tuberose, make sure you test before buying. Its a girly flowery pungent scent, with a tiny hint of ginger in the opening, but the tuberose is too headachy for me. Gave this to a friend, couldn't even use it as a bathroom sprayer, I dislike it that much.

aline_s

This is an ultimate Barbie perfume for me. Such a fun, girly, youthful and fresh sweetness! Mouthwatering delicacy with an invigorating ginger note. May be too much for those who dislike that kind of straightforward sweetness, but if you want to give off a jovial, energetic, popular girl vibe - this is the “it” perfume

Chesf

Creamy, soft, warm, cohesive, cute & whimsical.
Twilly is so well-rounded that it could seem a bit generic or one-dimensional at times.
The fading process could be a bit boring.
But overall, twilly is an extremely delightful, inoffensive, pleasant scent to be around. It offers a fantastic adorability that is hard to reject.
I would wear it when I feel cozy, playful or wanna have a cute cuddle on the couch with my partner.

With my initial whiff of the bottle, I found the white florals and powder together off-putting - "Too mature for me" I thought. But something kept drawing me back - these florals are fresh and light, a spryness assisted by the citrus and ginger. The powder is grounding, but not overwhelming. My subsequent whiffs are much different now.

I think this perfume is what I expected - wanted - Chanel No. 5 to be like. I would not characterize it as a "modern" scent, despite its more recent creation. But this is something I feel could have been worn in the 1940s, and is equally fitting in 2023. I'm not sure if this is full bottle worthy for me yet, but I'm looking forward to finding out.

soy_dos_gatos

Do not blind buy this. I tested it and, while the top notes are amazing, after an hour or so, it became easily the worst perfume I had ever smelled. IMO, smells like a semi-clean public bathroom (not even a clean one). Hermes has always disappointed me, top notes are really good, but after a few minutes their perfumes become nauseating.

dj71

The opening of this one smells like a slightly sweet lemon pledge, which I assume is the bergamot. I am not a fan of strong lemon or bergamot notes so if you also dislike that smell, I wouldn't recommend this one. So far, it also smells unisex to me. This one is not a safe blind buy, even if the notes look good to you. Test this one first.

Lovaloo

I've always had an interest in foraging, much to the chagrin of my neurotic mother. Around age 10, I somehow convinced her that I could identify wild ginger, and she allowed me to harvest the roots and use them in herbal teas. I mention this because the ginger in Twilly reminds me of the wild variant I grew up with, rather than the cultivated product available in grocery stores.

The effervescent, candied citrus zest & big, beautiful tuberose make the first gust mesmerizing, and the perfume improves with time. The aforementioned stunning ginger note does a lot. Subtly bitter, with licorice-y, anisic touches alongside the familiar dry-spicy, tannic, lemon-lime facets we associate with ginger. The sandalwood note in the base is masterfully worked out, with hints of vanilla peaking through.

I've read a lot of reviews from people saying this perfume doesn't last, but I think they're going anosmic. To my nose Twilly is intensive, powerful, long lasting.

A modern twist on a classic style, and a true work of art. I think Christine Nagel's work on Twilly perfectly demonstrates that the lack of interesting designer perfumes has more to do with the perfume-buying public than it does with the perfumer's palette, or their creativity & talent. Every time I encounter one I like, I feel the urge to wax poetic. Beautiful job, more of this please.

Lifewithebruu

Reminds me of my grandma’s house in bajrams. Combination of classic Turkish cologne and candies and a grandma house but this comment is only for the opening. Dry down is nice and can be for wider age range. Definitely not something I would buy luckily perfume store lady gave me a sample. Overall it’s heavy, gingerish and sweet fragrance. Would I buy it? No but this doesn’t mean that it’s terrible it’s just not for me.

peacedeli

All the Hermes perfumes I've tried smell faintly vaginal to me, though not in a repulsive way. I like Twilly--it's sweet but so grounded in something deeper that I don't even want to deem it as a floral scent, interestingly. I get some ginger and pepperiness on the opening and middle but it dries down into a pleasant lightly floral sweetness grounded in leather. Quite nice: smells expensive and distinctively Hermesian.

Ifaria

I have to disagree with most reviews, this is not a light nor fresh scent at all. It is very old lady like, in the worst kind of way - an aggressive opening that turns to a bitter powder. All in all smells like you dropped a bottle of old perfume on a wet wood log.
Not a safe blind buy in my opinion.

babypong

I’m surprised it’s not higher rated as a “reminds me of” but on my skin this is so similar to white diamonds! Smells like a higher quality version that places more emphasis on the white floral rather than the aldehyde but still very very similar. I have the twilly poivré too and this is totally different. Very soft with no detectable scent on my skin. Moderate silage and lasting only 3 hours, twilly poivré is stronger silage and longer lasting; but I actually can’t fault this one for being lighter, it fits the style and overall vibe of this scent. I get vanilla, bergamot, and jasmine, and tuberose as the strongest notes. Overall I like twilly and I’m happy to have her in my collection along with white diamonds and twilly eau poivrées

demi1504

This fragrance initially captivated me with its fresh scent, boasting excellent longevity and moderate sillage. However, over time, I unexpectedly grew tired of it. Considering its price, I began to feel it lacked a distinctive personality.

kitkatya

hey, nice! i’m interested in what this has going on. disliked on paper but it really blooms into a nice warmth on skin. still slightly more powdery than i want it to be… but i like the way it makes me smell! would be nice for an event of some kind, something you’d have to dress up for…

Chunkanela

I got a sample of this, can’t smell it after 2-3 hours, very faint if I really try but otherwise-longevity is bad

Mishka6

Trying out my sample from department store. Shocked. Was expecting a weird, ground-breaking, super gingery scent, especially in this price-range.
Nothing of the kind. Smells like a linear floral sandalwood soap, with powdery undertones, reminiscent of the classic sandalwood soap sold in Chinatown since the 70's. I don't pick up any ginger note.
This smells exactly the same from first spray to 40 mins later. Doesn't develop at all. I'm reviewing now bc I can tell there won't be an interesting drydown. This type of scent will just fade out.

Very light, like a skin scent. For people terrified someone will think they're wearing perfume.
Definitely a daytime office scent. I don't think the scent of sandalwood soap makes a very exciting fragrance.

beemaja

I can’t believe so many people find this perfume light, spicy and overall beautiful. Based on the reviews I was expecting it to be exciting almost bubbly everyday scent.
To me ginger and tuberose in Twilly make almost soapy, bitter, old scent in the worst way possible.

I guess it just isn’t my cup of tea. I’m so happy that this wasn’t a blind buy.

Titina

I have 2 bottles of Twilly edp, one from 2018 batch CCABP, and the other from 2020 batch ECBA0, and they seem two different perfumes, different color of juice, still sharing the same DNA. The first one is rich and dense and incensy, like being an Essence EDP as compared to the second one which is light and little spicy and seems an EDT. The 2018 is really impressive… it lasts days on fabrics and 12h on the skin, and it is a perfect blend smelling very luxurious, recalling somehow Miss Dior Le Parfum. I think I’ll have make my first bottle last for 2 years until the second one ages :))) in my collection the 2018 Twilly is among the first 10 preferences. Well done, congratulations 👍

Mimachan

I loooooooveeee the scents, but.....The fragrance exhibits very weak performance on my skin, lasting only around 1-1.5 hours. I wore it to the cinema, and after finishing the movie, the scent completely vanished from my skin without leaving any trace. Although it lingers longer on my hair, the sillage remains poor.

Despite my love for the scent, I doubt I'll purchase it again, because I have to reapply it every hour and this is not a cheap parfume to buy here in Indonesia. In contrast, the Un Jardin Collection, even as EDTs, boasts impressive longevity, particularly the La Lagune can last for days. Eau Poivree longetivity also good

MmeDePompadour

Of all the Hermès line, Twillly edt comes out as « just another scent ».

I would definitely take any other variations of this scent over the original. It reminds me of children’s fragrance.

If you actually do love the regular Twilly be sure to get eau de parfum or the perfume because the eau de toilette does NOT stay on the skin.

Velvet-Raven

I really like this one, its bubblegummy, fresh, sweet and spicy. Perfect for spring and summer. Its efortles and elegant but playful at the same time and this bottle is adorable too. I dont think its for everyone tho, you must like spicy/floral scents

Hum3idi

smells straight up like lemon scented dish soap to me

DracoN

My absolute favorite. LOVE IT. I kept buying Twilly though I never like to repeat the perfume. Its weird for me to read all the negative comments, I guess this is the sort of perfume either you absolutely love or absolutely hate. I had my fair share of good perfumes, I always have 20 plus perfumes at one time and keep buying and trying different ones but this one is certainly among my top 5.

strawberryswitchblade

I only liked it after scrubbing my arm with soap and alcohol wipe. Other than that it is just an obnoxious ginger heavy, fruity/flowery concoction with a cute name

rosyjen

For years, I've treated myself by buying decants of classic, niche, and new fragrances. I've probably smelled 1000's of fragrances, but I've never fallen in love, until now. The crisp light ginger paired with the rich tuberose and the warm soft sandalwood is just perfection. I do not get any bubblegum, vanilla, or gourmand, sugary vibe here at all nor is this a heavy spicy fragrance -it is crisp while being warm. My dad once had a ginger plant that produced huge beautiful, white fragrant flowers. Twilly might be this fragrance memory. Twilly sprayed on clothing lasts for daaaays, FYI.

Lem0nTea

It opens with a blast of predominantly citrus, which mellows out after a while but never really disappears thanks to its warm heart of ginger. The ginger is not particularly strident, and it meshes beautifully with the creamy, ripe tuberose and jasmine. As it dries down the roots of the ginger get pleasantly tangled in the sandalwood, perfectly complemented by the vanilla.

It's a very competently blended perfume with great performance. It manages to be soapy and warm, powdery and creamy all throughout its distinct layers.

After two 50-mL bottles I feel it's time to move on, but I can always recommend giving it a try.

AUyliong

Reminds me of Bazooka bubblegum before the ginger kicks in. It is a very spicy ginger too. Spicier than Crystal Noir. Very much a younger woman's scent along the lines of Chance Eau Tendre and Lancôme's Idôle but with more depth like Chance. This is not a one dimensional girl like Idôle.

This frag doesn't remind me of Hermès though. I don't detect their DNA. This smells like it was created by a different house. Not bad. Just not Hermès to my nose.

Paintedtrillium

This is a fun fresh unique scent. I love the ginger- just the right amount. And tuberose has always been a favorite of mine. The bottle is so cute. I like it!

PeacefulSunshine

I wanted to like this so bad since I absolutely adore tuberose. Even though the tuberose is clearly there in this perfume, I just couldn't get past the intense ginger scent. I've worn this for hours and I can still smell it.

So sad. The hunt for the perfect tuberose scent continues...

prancingponytail

This is straight neroli and orange blossom on me, despite (as sunnyviolets below pointed out) the fact that there seems to be no neroli in the composition. It's clean, definitely a crowd-pleaser, wouldn't disappoint as a gift but... it's just neroli and orange blossom. So what I'm gonna do is to wear L'Occitane's (my beloved) Néroli & Orchidée instead, because it's basically the same fragrance but cheaper and longevity is about the same.

stillalive

I was looking for a replacement to Tom Ford's discontinued Orchid Soleil. I guess it's in the same general family, but it's a distant relative, unfortunately. It lacks the creamy nutty goodness of Orchid Soleil and smells more like play-doh on me.

EDIT: After several hours, the ghost of this scent does remind me a little bit of Orchid Soleil. But I definitely wouldn't say it's a good match for OS. The search continues!

Scorpioskitz

Bought this as a blind buy , worst mistake. It smells exactly like Brut aftershave. I tried to like it and wore it for a few days but the brut lingered . In the chemist and picked up a brut bottle and sniffed it . Twilly d'hermes is just cheap mens cologne disguised with a pretty bottle and expensive price tag.
Have now given it to my son

sunnyviolets

Wearable beach, fresh laundry, neroli despite there not technically being any neroli. Somewhat soapy, but not overly clean at all. Calls to mind Bobbie Brown's Beach.

From the beach but still able to blend in in the general public. Sunny yet incredibly fashionable. A genuinely sweet girlboss through and through.

Katelynl88

Well this is pleasant! I have been feeling bored with all my perfumes so I decided to start re smelling my samples ( I have hundreds ) the ginger is quite potent , you get a blast of ginger and then I smell musky tuberose. Also very soapy , it almost smells like Irish spring soap mixed with ginger and tuberose. The tuberose reminds me of narciso Rodriguez musc like musc noir rose or kayali deja vue white flower . This is a more crisp sharp version with no incense . It’s really nice . It’s funny how a lot of rhr time I will quickly smell the samples and not really be interested but then later will discover a new like . I wore aerin Mediterranean honeysuckle clementine today which is not my style of scent at all but I really liked it . Same with this. This would layer beautifully with kayali vanilla 28.
Edit - this scent has grown on me so much I ordered a small bottle and I will absolutely order a big one as soon as I can afford it ! Love it !!!! This is just the right amount of mature and pretty and musky , I’m 34 and it’s amazing

robertambark

Nostalgic in a sense that this fragrance reminds me of some scent my mom used to wear while I was growing up. Unlike many, I don't get the gingery opening. While it is warm and inviting, this scent also brings out a very preppy and fun layer to it. That being said, you can definitely dress this up or down depending on the occasion. Love this scent a lot!

Mer_wiz

Crowd pleaser. But why not?

Currant01

Oh this is goood. I’ve tried this on blotters before and dismissed it. Now I recieved a decant in a swap, sprayed it and I’m impressed! The ginger in the opening is maybe a bit too sharp for me but that mellows soon. I get a lot of fluffy vanilla on my skin. A well balanced tuberose that’s not too heavy. It’s airy, fresh, smooth, creamy, soapy, elegant and inviting. Very happy I gave it another chance!

horselashes25

Milky_Way^^

I am a Hermes perfumes fan and this one is no exception ! Love it ! It smells amazing and it stays long on me ,it was my wedding scent and I would wear it anytime for any ocassions ! May be not a safe blind buy ,but I can't immagine someone to not like it .

Cymbopogon

I love this one the best in this line. Just classy with vintage vibe for the depth’s and complexity reminded me of some of French classics vintage Perfume that I have ever smelled and this one easily can be unisex.
If you love sweet fruity floral do not blind buy this one .

Barbara476

Like someone else wrote: it reminds me of an luxurious french soap.
I’ve been to Paris about 10 times in the last 30 years and when I first tried Twilly on my skin, it immediately reminded me of passing classy Parisian women on the streets of this capital of France.
It starts crispy, with the ginger top notes, but it dries down so clean, soapy and delicate. Such a lovely and classy fragrance!

fragitiina

Slightly soapy, just like others have described as luxurious bubble bath, citrussy-fresh, maybe balmy or even creamy. I love the white florals. Sandalwood and vanilla gives the drydown a nice, creamy touch. Somehow The Bridgerton series comes to my mind when smelling this, especially the garden party scenes and croquet tournament ^_^

Vanitasia

@sarahlage... it may be because it smells so much like Tabu!! It smells like a modern version of Tabu which was beloved to me as a child in roll on form.

meama

One of the best tuberose for men, deliciously woody and easy to wear

belinda.1

The idea of this appealed a lot. I imagined it was going to be an updated, fresher (younger? maybe fruitier?) version of Lentheric Tweed, and indeed it is. Slightly green-ish spicy-fresh opening fades into a classic 1980s/1990s lady-perfume sandalwood. I don't find it unpleasant to smell but I am too averse to heavy perfume to want to wear it. Fun and a little nostalgic to sample though.

Smells_Good

It is the middle of winter in the Southern Hemisphere and it has been extremely cold and depressingly wet. Wearing this now makes me feel warm and uplifted and I love it! After sitting dormant for a few years slowly moving towards the back of the cupboard, I pulled it out while decluttering and have not been able to stop using it all winter. I like to think of it as a cup of Earl Grey (which I've been loving too) with a sharp kick of ginger and bergamont at the beginning before gradually settling to a warm aroma that drifts up from within (my many layers of clothes) as I go about my day.

stephybabes

I've gone completely off this! Thinking of selling. Haven't used much.

gretta

My 5 year old daughter's palette/nose is incredible. I wore Twilly the other day for the first time and asked her what she smelled. Immediately, without missing a beat, she said "the pool". And my goodness, she is amazing - when we swim, I burn Nag Champa outside and this definitely has that sweet, spicy, yet smokiness that Nag Champa has. Yes there's citrus and ginger of course, but there is definitely incense too which gives Twilly a dry, warm comfort - absolutely beautiful. I only picked this up after reading Tania Sanchez/Luca Turin's sparkling review. I'm so glad I did! I don't love Tuberose and am easily turned off by too much tuberose but I love this. Comforting and Nostalgic.

Edit: just bought a full bottle. I also bought Origins ginger bodywash and souffle body cream to layer with Twilly. This may be my new signature. I still don't know how I strongly dislike tuberose but love this.

be555a

a trip to a forgotten memory lane, visions of strong women. totally beautiful, a luxury in simplicity, as such modesty. tuberose spiked by fresh ginger, slightly woody. a shining example of 2010s perfumery

gandrasta

It's like having warm ginger milk drink in a white wedding ceremony. So oriental and pretty. All I've got is burnt ginger and sandal at the top. White florals are slowly emerge along the mid to dry down. I find it as unisex, really. Works way better than that damn Aventus (fine from now on I'd use Aventus as bare minimum performance. Ok? OK!)

sarahlage

This scent is so comforting. When I first smelled it, I had a deja vu moment and immediately felt as though some significant adult from my childhood must have worn this. I've seen a lot of comments cautioning others not to blind buy, which is probably good advice, but for me this fragrance is very inoffensive and it's so hard for me to believe that anyone hates it (I know they do, but how?)!

AkaNeri

Very interesting white floral that blended with ginger and bergamot, white florals disappear after 2 hours on me and sandalwood+bergamot and slight ginger is what I'm left with. Nice, really elegant! FB - no, but decant - yes

bbyevrm

my babyyy. smells very parisian. definitely unisex and luxurious

Manjusaka

saho93

It opens spicy with ginger and citrus —just like the notes, but at the same time I can smell white flowers in the background. I like white florals in perfume, and this brings an interesting twist to them.

Having said that, I was hoping that the spicy ginger would be more subtle. Thus, I am somewhat ambivalent. Not outstanding, not bad.

I think I want to test this during colder months to see if it is better for my olfactory senses.

Update: 06/02/2023. I sprayed again. And I like it more; this ever slightly spiciness of ginger makes it so different from the rest of my rather soft mild-mannered perfumes. I am upgrading to like. Besides, my partner, who smelled for the first time today, loves it. That’s gotta count, right?😘

SashaWasha

LOVE LOVE LOVE! This fragrance is highly underrated. I regret not buying it sooner. Twilly has quickly become my most worn fragrance. It's such an easy grab. It smells like expensive French soap. I'm not into Paris or Parisian things, but this gives me Luxurious bubble bath in a large white and gold claw-foot tub at a prestigious hotel in Paris with a beautiful view of the Eiffel Tower in the distance as you bathe LOL Very dramatic, but that's what I get every time. It doesn't smell soapy though or like a typical clean fragrance or like laundry. It says ginger as the 1st note. I use ginger daily and don't smell much in this lol However, like many, I do smell rose, but a sweet soft rose. Yes! Add sweet roses to that bubble bath haha It's beautiful. Fresh and luxurious but not so luxurious that you can only wear it for special occasions. This is a daily scent or signature scent. Hermes always blends their fragrances so well. It smells like nothing else I own. Definitely a compliment getter! My #1 fragrance overall but also #1 for the heat. It will keep you smelling fresh and fragrant all day. Also good as a gym scent if you're like me and don't like to smell sweaty. During the Fall season, it thrives in the cool breeze. Though it's technically more feminine, this smells good on a lot of men too. BUT as much as I personally love it, I agree that body chemistry is very important, so I do recommend you test it first.

Ginawang23

The opening is vibrant with spicy ginger tart citrus. After five to ten minutes, the dry down becomes a heavy mature white floral. It's a well-blended scent that makes me think of winter nights and grandmother's cabin.

herheartflutters111

how are people getting rose… all i smell is a funky zesty bitter spicy smokey peppery scent😭😭

Sarahr97

Tuberose and ginger scent. It smelled pleasant but I returned my bottle to Sephora because I couldn’t reconcile spending $130 CAD on something that to me felt so one dimensional. All I really got was some nice ginger and white florals, almost like I’d been chopping fresh ginger and had some left on my hands. I would’ve kept this if it had just been a little more interesting and deep.

sandra_101

The bright-spicy-feisty-sweetness of Twilly is really fun! But it's a near miss for me because there are some heavy-hitter aromachemical molecules in this that smell pretty different on my skin depending on season/temperature/etc.

Sometimes it smells like biting into a gumball while hanging out in an 80s rollerskating rink that was just cleaned with industrial products. And other times it's like a jubilantly bright, gingery-tuberose soap bubble.

This also contains the same sharp woody-amber molecule that some people (including me) don't like when it's used in large quantities in other scents such as Erba Pura by Xerjoff. Maybe it's cetalox? Or maybe it's some 'super amber' accord? Even though it's much lighter/fainter here, that might be why some people get a 'yuck' reaction to this. Some people's noses are really sensitive to it and others smell it as something clean & light, so who knows.

Not a safe blind buy but if the notes appeal, it's definitely worth a test drive - or two - to see if it works consistently for you. If it does, I can see this being a great signature scent.

Let'sGoBlue01

Ginger strong enough to clear my sinuses. Tuberose with a hint of bergmont and orange blossom, strong enough to encourage memories of fabric starch spray while folding sheets as a kid with my grandmother in the 1980s. Not inoffensive generally but a stronger silage than I like w one spray, and after 12 hours, I was ready to scrub it off. Still, I appreciate the sense memory.

cats8398

Had a sample and hoped it would morph from the strong initial opening but it never did. It remained heavy and thick and kind of sickening. Had to wash it off which wasn't easy. Really not a fan at all considering I'm a huge fan of most Hermes fragrances.

it's giving not quite a girl not yet a woman. she was just 17 if you know what I mean. definitely a scent for a young woman who could be described as "precocious". it's a classic for sure, there's nothing offensive here and it's really lovely. the bottle is adorable and it's shockingly light and delicate for a tuberose. it's nice! will probably sport this in the fall

ally_

Reminds me of a bright, warm smile. I feel like a "cool chick" when I wear this but also feel comfort from my own smell while wearing. Gonna bring out the crocheted tops and lace panties.

Elfin Will

When I tested this perfume, I hated it at first. I directly told the saleswoman: "Oh no, this one, I find it very unpleasant compared to the other flankers!" But... Wait 10 min, this perfume turns out beautiful! It shocked me, I even thought I smelled two totally different perfumes! And for me, it ended up being the best of the 3 Twilly variants.

Twilly is sophistication in a bottle! Its olfactory notes blend beautifully, and it's so unique; I've never tested a perfume that smells like it!

And this bottle... It's so cute! <3

This doesn’t smell like anything I’ve ever smelled before. In a good way. It reminds me of my rich auntie 😂 it’s a very fresh laundry type of scent. It lasts FOREVER on me, I put some on this morning at 6:30 am and it’s 12:30 pm and I still smell it which is rare. For some reason perfumes don’t really last on me. And I always get compliments anytime I wear this! I feel this is a daytime scent or maybe a good one for work or something along the lines.

Acrelune

One of my warm weather signature scents (yes I have more than one).
Stunning Ginger/Tuberose opening.
Very beautiful Faceted fragrance, suitable for any occasion and season really. But definitely not a safe blind buy.
Good sillage and longevity.

The first thought I had when I sprayed this on was "JPG 2" - you know, the one with the magnetic bottles. It's got that bubbly orange blossom thing going on. I'm a man but can't wait to wear this out.

AnjaliK

It's pretty and youthful, soft and light, nice but too shy for me. Glad I sampled it first because I won't buy a bottle of it for myself. I'm crazy for ginger but didn't get enough of it from this.

Wvach

It smells….good! Nothing to really say as I cannot truly describe it. It is common, average and likable. It does not suit me

nurhalimazfar

strong ginger, smell good and pleasant. its like a ginger cookies,I can't describe it. this is good but not my cup of tea

fantasticoo

I use it when I feel like a good girl. It can be used daily, there is no aggression in it :)

SophiaViolette

I wore it almost daily a few years ago, I enjoyed it for a while, finished my bottle but didn’t feel like I needed to buy again and was ready for something new.
It’s playful and strong, It’s retro like a Birkin but always in style. The ginger isn’t shying away, It’s in your nose! It’s atypical, with Twilly it’s either a big “Yes!” or a “Non, non!”.
You can wear Twilly during the day, at night, winter or summertime, the Hermès Girl is timeless and this fragrance leaves a trail easy to recognize.

Irinka. K

Yes, it's strong. Yes it's long lasting. But it smells like old man's cologne on my nose. Dislike.

Andja23

Its overwhelming for me. I found it one some list of "perfumes that make the best impression on men" and i wanted to buy it without testing. Luckily, i went with my husband first tu try it on, and he felt sick from it. It makes me a little bit sick, too.

prvocateur

its disgusting. simply all i can say..

nienke95

I really like Twilly. I often like tuberose, so it's not surprising. The ginger gives a nice freshness without being too spicy. I find it very refreshing in warm weather. I don't think that this is "an old lady fragrance", whatever that may be anyway, but I can imagine that this is not really something that appeals to teenage girls. I am 27 and I don't find it too mature. It does smell classy and put together.

Kizzyb93

Short review on this one, I feel like the ginger in this makes it very old lady I have tried liking this one as I bought this in the summer every time I’ve given it another chance , I just can’t make myself like it which is a shame because I know a lot of my friends really rate this. I guess this one just doesn’t agree with my skin.

no1babygirl

I found out recently that I don't like ginger or orange in scents, not vile but definitely doesn't agree with me. at all.

meganita

I’m about halfway through my bottle of this one. I loved it at first because it’s strong and old-fashioned while maintaining something flirty and youthful as well; like a perfume my grandmother would wear if my grandmother were a GenZ-er. However now whenever I wear it, I am always reminded of Avon Skin So Soft. Ever since I started making that association, I no longer enjoy wearing this one. I think it’s the heavy sandalwood and cedar notes in the base that trigger this for me. I try to layer this one with Twilly Ginger now to still get some enjoyment out of it. Luckily the Ginger flanker is perfect for layering on top of the original and it brightens it up considerably. I only wear this perfume in winter now, as I find it much too heavy for warmer weather. Great staying power and quite unique as far as white florals go these days. I think that’s what attracted me to it in the first place.

beccab5o4

This perfume is a shape-shifting lil thang. She oscillates between Love's Baby Soft and Juicy Couture Juicy Couture ... trying to be all innocent but full well knowing she has sassy intentions. I dislike both Baby Soft & Juicy Couture but there's something about this twisted amalgamation that lures me in. It's fresh, herbal, and kinda skanky. This fragrance is such a weirdo and I think I might adore it.

Bysshe

It may lean towards feminine, it may thrust its big-bosomed tuberose straight in my face (with a little compensating lure of bitter orange and the siren call of an ethereal ginger, fresh as the mountain dew) and keep it there until I give up - but give up I must, to this bright, sparkling, optimistic scent that I first smelled with a female relative in a department store some 4-5 years ago and which I ended up buying straight away myself. Now it's my go-to pick-me-up on those days when the sun may be shining but the internal gloom threatens not to lift. It helps enormously - and it's a fantastic fragrance!

Frejaaa

No it’s super spicy, and way too floral. Really dislike.

klioux

The bitter in the bitter orange really comes through in the opening - before looking at the notes I suspected a skunky herbal note of some kind. As it progresses the body of citrus/jasmine/tuberose/vanilla comes through, much like you would find in many other mainstream brands. It smells a bit outdated to me. For me this is a big yawn, as it pretty much promises this will dry down to baby powder on my skin.

blacwideaux

Floral citrus opening, dries down to spicy gingery sandally vanilla. I don't normally go for vanillas but this is a yes. It's unique. Have had it for about 6 weeks now and it's taken this long to write the review. I do think it smells like a youthful Hermes. I like smelling it in the winter during the daytime. I weirdly prefer to smell this in the morning as opposed to 10PM. No idea why!

First sniff at store = intrigued. Smelled different than every other scent at Sephora. Came back next day and ordered the large bottle from the store. Wore it home on my coat, hung up my coat, smelled my coat again around 10PM... H-a-t-e-d it. Couldn't believe I bought the 85 mil. Wore it again a week after it arrived to give it one more chance before returning. Then I wore it again, and again, and again... just couldn't let it go. So I kept it. Then I accidentally layered it with Valentino Donna Born in Roma Yellow Dream and that's all I do now. That is my smell. I crave it.

TL/DR; Twilly's my girl!! Has anyone else tried layering it with Valentino Donna Born in Roma Yellow Dream? Would like to know your thoughts.

pearl421

This perfume is cute! It took me years to come to terms with it and recently I got one in a Sephora coffret set. I remember someone saying it's too warm for warmer weather - save this for late fall/winter and I think they have a good point! I didn't touch this for months and today I broke it out and dabbed some on my wrist. I feel like the spicy opening really puts me in a holiday mood. The overall opening does not blow me away like some of my favorites, but it's *not bad*. Think it's a safe choice for daytime use, like maybe wearing in the office. I don't get a lot of ginger. Very powdery like a typical floral aldehyde.

Unruly Julie

I'm afraid that this is just not my cup of tea. The opening notes are overpowering on my skin and turn the tuberose very sharp and bitter. I'm a girl who loves to drown myself in a scent and just one spray of this is almost too much for me. I'm glad that I only bought a miniature...back on Ebay it goes

Catmo

This is mostly tuberose to me, it’s pretty sharp and soapy. Reminds me of Love Tuberose by Amouage. I’m personally not a fan of Tuberose done this way. I prefer fragrances like Tubereuse Imperiale which is softer and sweeter.

Thykes10

A truly unique scent especially when it comes to designer. The spices comes out immediately along with some citrus. As it starts to settle, I get some whiffs of tuberose. There's also a soapiness that comes out (likely from the jasmine?). On further drydown, the sandalwood comes out more. So it becomes a creamy tuberose with a subtle sweetness. I love the drydown on this too- creamy vanilla sandalwood. The only downside is my husband isn't a fan...but I'm considering a bottle anyways, that's how much I'm loving this!

Denu

The opening is a delightful surprise that takes me back to a perfume my Mum wore in the 80s - perhaps the tuberose and sandalwood. It’s a strong, engaging hit with the ginger bringing a fresh and spicy note. Within five minutes the vanilla comes through and for me that makes this a really interesting combination of ginger, floral and vanilla. Love it.

It softens quite quickly, on my skin the ginger was still detectable for the first hour, with soft traces as a skin scent by the two hour mark. The vanilla and sandalwood are what remain.

I applied this only lightly as on first impressions it was quite strong, and it had moderate longevity on my skin. Now I’d be more confident to give it a normal application and I imagine the longevity would be good. I’d enjoy wearing this to the office and would say it’s a good daytime scent year round for me (temperate climate).

Acidula

What's wrong with this one? Every time I try it at the store I fall in love with the fresh and joyful opening, only to get very disappointed by the drydown. On my skin, it smells like an airport version of Coco Vanille.

Laeken

I blind bought a travel size (not a decant) of this and was relatively confident I would like it. Sadly, the listed notes and reviews led me astray. At first spray, I thought "this is beautiful and I'm going to really like it". Five minutes later it turned into generic drugstore bath salts from the '80's. Where is the ginger and citrus, the sandalwood and vanilla? All I get is dated floral powder. I'm guessing the sandalwood and vanilla combining with the florals are responsible for the powderiness and that would be acceptable if I could detect any spice from the ginger or brightness from the citrus. Maybe it's just my nose, but very disappointed.

golfchick

My boyfriend at the time had bought me this perfume for my birthday. This is totally not a perfume I would have picked out on my own, and it grew on me! Pleasantly surprised at how much I adore this as an addition to my small collection. The longevity is outstanding, more than my other perfume, and I also get complemented nearly every time I wear this specific scent! The warmth of this scent is perfect for fall and winter for me.

jan.caddy

A super chic scent! Zesty, gingery opening with hints of bitter orange that dries down to a comforting, powdery tuberose.

I find it perfect as a signature scent because of how versatile it actually is. Clean and soapy, perfect as a work perfume. Fresh and zesty, perfect for casual, sunny days. Floral spicy, perfect for dates and formal occasions! You really can't go wrong with this one. Plus, this perfume lasts all day, at least on my skin. On my clothes, the powdery dry down stays even until the next day.

broro117

Wearing this on one arm as I wear 24 Faubourg on the other. It smelled fine at first, and the ginger was nice, but it quickly dried down to be very nondescript. Wearing it alongside 24 Faubourg certainly does it no favors; the bold personality of that one puts Twilly's lack of character to shame.

Daisy_D

Typical white floral scent with a hint of ginger adding a bit spiciness to it. Slightly soapy.

Roos88dutch

It’s really longlasting fresh soapy feminine tuberose . Little mature /old fashioned or something. Only need 3 sprays otherwise it’s overwhelming to me . Libre intense I spray al over and is not that long lasting

BougieGirlShops

This is a pretty scent. I think I would have been tipped from like to love if the tuberose wasn't so prominent, and if it wasn't so sweet with the jasmine and vanilla notes. I haven't tried any of the flankers, but I would love to have a deeper woody version, maybe an addition of oak moss. I am going to try and layer this with Nishane Hacivat as I think these two would compliment each other well.

There is something about this that also reminds me of a man's cologne. Like it's tickling my memory but I can't pinpoint what it may be. I somehow keep thinking of Brut, but I don't know why. Definitely has an old school barbershop scent to me.

I knew I would love the marriage of ginger with sandalwood, and the spiciness is lovely and addictive. I just feel like it's too floral forward. It does have great potential for flankers as I think the DNA is fantastic.

Labhrein

This is a very good scent on me. It’s inoffensive in a good way, meaning that it’s not “too much” and can be easily used in a crowd, and in my opinion is easily adaptable to formal, work or casual events. You can dress it up or down, basically, doesn’t feel out of place anywhere. No old lady or girly girl vibe on me at all.

I’m a citrus lover so of course I adore the opening. It’s sad that the beautiful bitter orange lasts so little on me, but the bergamot stays on my skin for a lot longer so it compensates a bit. Longevity and sillage aren’t the best on my skin, I either need to put a lot of it on in the morning (and the opening is STRONG, let me tell you, people around me would suffocate if I did that) or reapply during the day. Fun fact, I sprayed a little bit on a scrap of paper ten days ago and left it on my dresser, and the room still smells heavenly because of it.

As for the other notes, you can trust fragrantica, it’s ginger ginger ginger, then tuberose tuberose tuberose.

This gets me a lot of compliments, especially from men (which I get, it’s vanilla without being overwhelmingly sweet).

Soledad89

Never thought that ginger and tuberose could go together well in one fragrance. Was at first doubtful until I sampled it, and instantly loved it that I bought a bottle, which is also a charmer.
Doesn't smell "old aunt". Rather smells elegant and sophisticated. I just wished it had more lasting power on my skin.

MargotHarow

Tried it once and hated it. Tried it yesterday and absolutely love it!! Very fresh, perfect for work, daytime, non offensive, unique (unlike so many gourmand based and safe boring scents today) and soapy. Has good longevity and projection. Has a beautiful aldehyde soapy quality. This is a fascinating uncommon scent.

SaraZigova

So classy!! ❤️❤️

Sofia87

This is very zesty floral. The initial spray is exactly what the top notes says - bitter orange, bergamot and ginger. After 2 minutes the florals peeks through and creates a powdery sweet but fresh clean scent. Like a bar of soap or Dove shower gel with some synthetic perfume. I can't stand Dove. This is not a very memorable perfume. I find it way too soapy!

Maybe it's the ginger combined with orange and jasmine I can't deal with, cause I get the exact same feeling when I smell Paco's Olympea which I'm not a fan of.

COLOREDGIRLSHUFFLE

Finally! An Hermes scent I really like! The bitter orange ginger to white florals like orange blossom and jasmine over that vanilla sandalwood smells yummy. It's not a young fruity gourmand, nor is it an "old lady" scent. It's inviting and sensual. The dry down is a tad sweet and powdery but it's still grown and sexy.

Mc1995

It’s beautiful, unique. It’s not a young girly fragrance. It’s not cotton Candy. It’s a well made creamy white floral with a zing from ginger and bitter orange. Not for ageist kids. It’s not ‘old lady’ it’s a nice fragrance.

Laurus

I got a sample with an order. I wasnt expecting it to smell like it does. I was expecting something a little bit younger. It gives me total Chanel no 5 vibes. I do not hate it but I do not love it. A couple of years ago I was all about the things that smelled classic and expensive and this fits right in there. I would not expect to smell this on a young girl. It is too powdery and floral for that. It is funny because the bottle looks so young.

tomato18

The dry down is nice, a warm tuberose vanilla, but woahhhh that opening is a lot. It almost reminds me of the pickled ginger you get with sushi. Very acidic and spicy. Not my thing but I get why people like it.

Tincel

The description of the target audience "[f]ree, bold and irreverent, they swim against the tide, impose their own rhythm, invent a brand new tempo" is all shameful lies. Twilly is so boring that it's unpleasant, and so generic that it borders on vulgarity. Big disappointment from Hermès and Christine Nagel.

Roos88dutch

At first I thought no no no only floral . But I had to wait for a wile . Now it’s a beautiful ginger vanilla tuberrose very feminine classy clean sweet i use it when I am dressed up or just jeans and tshirt or hoody . It’s just a easy sent I think .

Sanrio

I rediscovered my Twilly sample today.

I'm absolutely loving it. The spice really came out to play today; my only initial complaint about the fragrance was that the ginger wasn't as strong as I thought it would be.

I wore it today while I was on the treadmill and I have to say.. Body heat really brings this one to life. I'm tempted to overspray it the entirety of my sample tomorrow while I exercise and see how that works.

Tonight I decided to layer (the dry down of) Twilly with Classique Essence and it created the most beautiful, fluffy, spicy dessert without being too sweet. I'm also going to try layering it with L'Interdit Rouge and some other spicy scents and see how that goes. This fragrance definitely has potential as a signature scent and a base that layers easily with other things!!

Nadeeeeen

I tried this perfume in a store..i used to think that this perfume is a fresh perfume and little spicy according to ginger and citrusses..but I was shocked that it's sweet and for my nose it's not fresh at all..i have mixed feelings about this perfume..i don't love it but I don't hate it at the same time..i don't know maybe in the future I will like it more but for now I'm focusing on fresh and floral Musky powdery perfumes..also (some) oriental scents for winter..I think it's a good perfume if you want something that will last for a long time.

SaintTropical

I tried this perfume when I was at the airport in Japan? Thailand? i don’t remember, back in 2018. Fell in love with it and asked my aunt to buy it for me as a gift (I was still a College student at the time, couldn’t afford it). I’ve tried so many other perfumes but I kept coming back to this one. My boyfriend described the smell as something a young European royalty or a new money 20-somethings would wear. I agree with him!

This lasts long on the skin but the sillage could have definitely been improved. This leans more feminine but I’m male and have gotten compliments from wearing this. Definitely making this my signature scent!

Nichole FZA

This was a love at first sniff. I was in Japan in 2018, while at the airport waiting for my flight back to Malaysia, I was introduced to this and it was gorgeous, I fell head over heels for this and straight away bought FB and a miniature 😅😅

In 2022, I am already on my 2nd FB and even have the flanker, Eau Ginger. So maybe I'm drawn to ginger note, maybe?
For someone who has quite a number of perfume, I can live without this but no...I still want to have this in my collection and still want to wear it because this is a mass pleasing perfume, people like this on me, men like this on women so this is an easy reach for event like weddings, brunches, going to library.

jbsherry

This is a perfume I was initially interested in based on the notes but shied away from due to copious amounts of reviews describing it as "old lady" (this is now a term that irks me). I randomly tested it at the duty-free and was immediately shocked at the reactions to this perfume. While this is not a teen tutti-frutti fragrance, I do not understand the characterizations of this scent as "grandma." Perhaps this is the association for some with scents that pull powdery, but I personally do not find this to have too much powder. This is a lively tuberose-forward scent that is made more interesting with the addition of ginger, some citric notes, sandalwood, and vanilla. I ended up buying a FB.

The ginger opening is divine and it would be nice if it stuck around longer, but it is present throughout the development. Note: the top note lasts longer on clothes, I think skin chemistry brings out the vanilla/sandalwood. After the top note dissipates, the tuberose appears. It is not indolic or screechy, as some tuberose can pull, but strikes the right balance of natural smelling and synthetic. It feels very pretty. I love the creamy dry-down, it is very warm and elegant.

This is a classy and rich scent. It feels appropriate for both day wear and out to a nice dinner or formal event. I can see anyone from age 25+ with a penchant for luxury wearing this. I did see one reviewer point out a similarity to Hypnotic Poison (which I love), and I do slightly get that due to the vanilla/sandalwood, but Twilly lacks the almond nuance and is more sophisticated and less sexy than HP. Performance is excellent, I would say it lasts 6+. Hermes quality. Be careful not to overspray though as it could be overwhelming. I would recommend testing it and seeing how it reacts with your chemistry.

I also quite liked the Eau Poivree flanker (although different character from the original) and intend to snag a bottle as well.

arbieonly

It's a soft opening of white flowers and subtle hint of ginger, dry down is simple, clean and sweet. Twilly de' Hermes is perfect for everyday wear.

IvanaH

This is actually my first disappointment with Hermes.
I liked the first few seconds of ginger and citrus, however in an instant it turned to nauseating heavy scent that I had to wash off. The invasive note that I'm talking about is present in Dior Hypnotic Poison as well, I guess it's bitter almond, correct me if I'm wrong (as it's not listed in Twilly's note pyramid).
Having said that many people would probably love Twilly too as Hypnotic Poison current rating is 4.09 out of 5 with 20,290 votes here on Fragrantica.

sweetsaffron

Opening is a burst of fresh white florals and ginger. Dry down is a rich, creamy, powdery tuberose and vanilla. It's very beautiful and classy but I live in a tropical country. The dry down is not really suitable for warm weather. Would be perfect for a dinner date or colder seasons.

ValentinaR

I'm wearing this perfume right now while its hot out and realized this is probably not best for a hot summer day as I can feel the scent evaporating quickly. Upon the initial spray, I was wrapped in a soft, beautiful, unassuming, slight touch of gingery scent. Several hours later, the scent feels like it doesn't have much silage. However, coming into work, I was just complimented by 3 co workers and asked me what I was wearing. That doesn't happen very often. I'm currently on an eternal search for my signature fragrance and one of my criteria is a fragrance that gives compliments! The other criteria is a fragrance I can wear all year long. This is probably not it as it is too cloying in the Winter and Fall. I will keep this for the cooler sunny days and nights.

snowyvanille24

This is very similar to l’interdit rouge. But a lighter version. I think this is much suitable for warmer months. It’s a bit too spicy and not well balanced like l’interdit rouge. Should be more juicy and less spicy. The dry down is soapy and calm, I like it.

norhal96

I like the opening and the skin scent after the dry down. Everything inbetween is not my cup of tea.

violeteme

What an overlooked tuberose. It is classy, yet youthful and joyful, not conservative, rotten, glamorous, vintage, opulent or something else too much. I find it modern, bright, cheerful, but nothing that couldn't be worn by an elegant lady. The tuberose here is clean, creamy and voluptuous, ginger adds a slight unexpected spice, sandalwood comes with some milkiness. For some reason I imagine those bright, colorful Hermes silk scarves while smelling this. I don't understand why I feel like in a Hermes store altogether. No wonder this is an award winner. +

Comicalcupcake

Wow, I really like this. Imagine a tuberose that's clean and cute, and that's what you get here. Like tuberose scented french milled soap. Will get to know it better and edit my review eventually.

Edit 5/8/23: I apparently taught my nose to pick up ginger because that's a huge part of what I smell now. It's peppery and zingy, fresh without being green.

I honestly don't pick up the sandalwood but I can tell there's more to it than just ginger and tuberose. I love how my nose is evolving as I pursue this hobby and hopefully there will be more to write next time.

likesleet

overwhelming jasmine. only got unpleasant florals and nothing else

strangelight

Unfortunately, this has exactly the kind of pale sweet synthetic tuberose accord that made me hate tuberose before I discovered more green natural smelling tuberoses.
I can't even judge if it's well made or not, it just instantly makes me nauseous. I don't find it spicy really, but I'm used to much spicier scents. If you have a problem with synthetic white florals like me, avoid.

AriaLennon

This is okay. It's spicy, a bit too spicy for me if we're being honest. It's good but nothing special.

Sannesans

I actually prefer the Twilly Eau Ginger. I have the Twilly d'Hermès edp for swap on my costom shelves. For me the original Twilly is too mature and too heavy. Also not keen on the bottle design. I love Hermès, but this on just isn't for me.

Fra1707!@

It was a blind buy & I needed time for this to grow on me. I'm still unable to settle on a pov and I've used half of my big bottle. Sometimes I just find the Tuberose , jasmine too heavy with the creamy base notes. Yet other times the ginger and fresh opening is welcoming.

yunoh

This is such a comforting fragrance for me, I can smell the ginger, cinnamon, and vanilla. Anyone can wear this since it leans a bit masculine too. 10/10!!!! She is the moment.

fishandbear

On my skin, the opening is a sweet citrus, the drydown is a sourrrr citrus with pepper, then after a while it becomes sweet again (a relief!)

neja99

Twilly is my fav fragrance. It can be worn at any occasion and in any season. But it has vintage vibe to it so test it before you buy it

bibilia

Takes time to like it, but once you like it can't live without. Reminds me of a classic perfumes that you found on your mom's dresser when you were little but in far modern format. Classy and mature. I really like it. Project well and lasting power is amazing.

Lyonside

This was a blind buy of mine. The list of ingredients/notes was very promising but the outcome on my skin is so synthetic and annoying that I have to wash it away every time I try to wear it. A total waste of money.

LaContessina

As much as I love the presentation, this scent is a no-go for me.
On my skin it is pepper (the spice), a very strong one, disturbing the nostrils.
They say it should be ginger - a spice i love, ginger is fresh and tickling- but here it's poorly executed, resulting way too prominent and unbalanced.
After a few seconds, it turns sweet, in the classical over-used ever-present Fruitchouli manner.
Loud, very loud and less than elegant. Strong.
To add insult to injury, a pepper (the vegetable) note emerges: raw, acrid, harsh green pepper, with that note of cat pee (pepper leaves have this unpleasant smell). Don't tell me it's the indoles in tuberose cause here i can't smell tuberose!
I guess it's the reaction with my skin but it was utterly unpleasant, I had to rush to the sink and scrub it off.
I tried to layer it with a fresher cologne but no way, this acrid harsh edge is always there.
A fragrance that is unbalanced, poorly executed and not elegant.
Twilly will surely have its estimators, but i am not among them.

HenrietteSWK

This lasts so long, I can smell it after washing my clothes. 1010 lasting power.

Sarahaahaha

I sprayed this on myself and I almost died, it smelled like a scented candle

MarmaladeSkies

I was quite surprised but I adore this perfume. It's my new favourite. It's feminine and sophisticated. If you can brave going into hermes it's worth trying before buying.

eva.daisy.88

I tried this today on a paper tester, and was positively surprised. I would like to try it on the skin next time before purchasing, but I like the overall warm feeling.

Dashalu

Such a beautiful fragrance. Not sure if there is another like it. It’s not an absolute love where I can’t live without it but it’s a big like and I appreciate it so much. Unique is how I’d best describe it. It has a very detectable Hermès dna! Even just smelling the bottle before spraying, I can recognize it. To me it’s green, natural, soapy, slightly sweet from vanilla, a little fresh and watery, creamy tuberose, and a little spicy ginger.
Very much so unisex! But you could mix it with extra gardenia & tuberose to make it more floral and “feminine”. Or vice versa mix it with more spicyness. I smell a lot of soapiness too. Like an expensive soap bar in a clean nice hotel room. It’s also very cozy. Love it on a rainy gloomy day when there is a very slight cool breeze as it mixes well with those natural earthy scents. It’s my favorite when it’s raining for that reason alone I’d repurchase it as I miss it.

This was my first meeting with it: I tested it on my wrist at the store after being curious looking at the notes. It takes you on a journey! The opening is strong and very “natural”. And was bitter to my then very untrained nose. It was powerful and green and I automatically rejected it being young and at the time only wearing basic genetic sweet things. It smelled as if you’re smelling the herbs and ingredients juiced right by your nose. I found this both a little shocking & enjoyable as someone who has always liked green scents (though this is not considered green). Then it started to calm down and became pretty smooth and cozy. Immediately it reminded me of a comfy soft sweater. I fell for it then! And this began my appreciation and like for unisex fragrances as well. And in general broadened my horizon for perfumes. After about an hour it becomes a very calming scent to me. Soft but still projecting well. I think of hanging out in the fall with my loved ones by the fireplace with a cozy sweater on when I smell this. Or that awkward stage in the spring/June showers when it’s still raining and there’s a cool breeze. It mixes well with the dewy musky scent of a rainy day. The tuberose has a creamy and watery quality to it which I really enjoy.
There are a lot of notes here that you’d think won’t make sense together but they do. It’s not a typical department store fragrance that is sweet and meant to attract everyone. It’s not “basic”. And it might be a bit confusing as you can’t really pick out what’s in it. Well blended for sure!
Very much so genderless! I could see it on anyone. I immediately thought of how this would smell great on a man too. Though the bottle looks more feminine. So many men will not even dare try it due to marketing. It’s the most unisex scent I’ve had in my collection so far to my nose. It is animalic, versatile, and signature scent worthy. Not very popular. So beautifully blended. Also the bottle… the hat and the scarf… so adorable. It has given me a mild headache before but not always/still worth it lol. Though it doesn’t project in beast mode it lasts a long time on skin and the next day it’s still there as a skin scent. Love it in the hair too!

LivsAnne

I love this, it’s so refreshing and springtime appropriate. The ginger gives it a subtle spiciness that makes it far from boring or your average white floral.

sweet_cherry

I had a sniff I almost chocked myself to death :'(( is this a perfume or insect killer spray?

Enrium

Twilly is such an effortlessly elegant scent. I first came across it as an au pair in France in the bathroom where the French mother kept her perfume collection. I was very taken with the neat little bottle, complete with bowler hat lid and twilly scarf detail. Cute, distinctive and joyful, I was delighted to find that the scent within was just as good. A brilliant spicy floral, Twilly features the unusual combination of tuberose and ginger. The tuberose is unusually nuanced, complex and mysterious, a refreshing reprieve from the oppressive bombastic note made famous by Poison et al. Far from being a 1980s throwback, Twilly is modern and fresh.

Twilly opens with fresh citrus notes and a hint of ginger. It manages to avoid Christmas/potpourri territory - instead it is bright and strangely reminiscent of sunshine. The ginger note develops, smelling just like freshly grated ginger - natural and aromatic. Its tart, slightly sweet spiciness adds a lift to the other notes, and lasts until drydown.

Tuberose creeps in as it develops - soft, creamy and restrained, yet unmistakeable. It is lush, bolstered to perfection by clean jasmine. Some orange blossom rounds out the white floral accord, while providing a nice transition from the opening citruses. The florals are light yet heady, natural and bouquet-like. There is an odd rubber-leather accord among the florals, momentarily reminiscent of Bvlgari Black. It is not unpleasant - it just captures my interest. The ginger note complements the florals beautifully, keeping things light and modern. There is a greenness to the florals too, and an aromatic, herbal quality emerges as they develop, adding a slight fougère influence.

It becomes woody and grassy as it dries down, with vetiver and other spices rounding it out. Sandalwood is the most prominent note here however, adding a nice rich woodiness that complements the white florals. A whisper of vanilla keeps things sweet at its late stage. Sillage and longevity are moderate.

Twilly is a truly exceptional everyday scent - understated yet unusual, and deceptively simple. Intriguing throughout thanks to its twists and turns, it is overall a cohesive, beautifully formed perfume, and is a personal favourite. Christine Nagel has outdone herself. Nonchalent French chic in a bottle. 5/5.

baregifaen

A springsummer scent without being boring.
It kind of tickles my throat in the beginning, but it goes away pretty fast:)
Really really love this one<3 And it last pretty long aswell.

rubyjin

I try to love this scent, but not get this luck :/
The warm of spices scents give me a headache because i feel that ginger is to heavy?!
Sometimes give me a stiff old lady vibes, too mature and stuffy

Eva Wu

Twilly would have been an inventive fragrance for any perfume line, let alone Hermes, and had the benefit of coming in one of the cutest bottles of all time (the top hat? the lil scarf? get outta here).

I had no idea what to think of it for a while. Did I like it? Did it even smell nice? Turns out the answer to both of those is yes! It seems to me like a version of what Amarige tried to do for tuberose way back when, which was to take that uproarious flower and put it in a bittersweet, fougere-like context.

But Amarige was bombastic and old-fashioned, whereas Twilly feels truly modern. It's minimalistic yet deceptively complex, creamy yet dry, with a herbal, spicy intensity that puts me in mind of aged tea. It also has this green salty aura that feels like that mysterious after-glow that my grandmas 70s perfumes left on her clothes.

All in all, a very stylish, contemporary tuberose, made by one the best in the biz, legendary perfumer Christine Nagel.

Miim

Twilly - to me it is an autumn scent. The opening is very spicy and citric. It develops to a gingery aroma which lasts for 1 or 2 hours. I would say that it doesn't have a silage though. I can only smell it if I sniff my arm. People with a fine nose can perhaps perceive it, but not most of the people. I have decided to wear it before bed since it is very cozy and not overwhelming at all. Perfect for cold days and cuddling :)
Today I sniffed the poudery version of it and I liked it more. Felt more sofisticated.

liebecherie

This is a pleasant smooth ginger, citrus, floral fragrance. I was not sure about the ginger before buying it, but I found it well done after trying the scent finally.

XOXO 1984

Long wearing, versatile, unisex, and unique (to me anyway.) I’m not in love with the opening but the sweet floral woody dry down is heavenly. I love smelling it throughout the day. Only need like 3 sprays too.

Remmel

I was pleasantly surprised by Twilly d'Hermes. There is a strong ginger blast in the beginning that is a bit too harsh, but it balances out fairly quick with spicy fresh oranges and creamy florals to be amazing. Versatile and very unique, I can see it being unisex as well.

lihik

I thought from the notes that I would love this but I tried it in the store and really didn't like it at all. It's overly sweet and really heavy, and it kind of smells too mature in my opinion. Not a fan. The longevity and silage were nice so it's a shame the scent was not for me.

Edit: If you're in the market for a lighter, fresher version of this try the "Classique Eau Fraiche" from Jean Paul Gaultier, it's perfection!

Miim

I bought this today and contemplating the bottle I thought the little tube which comes inside it was broken because you cannot see it unless you inspection it against the light. It's a simple yet beautiful design.
Regarding the scent, I am still testing it. I think it's a perfect every day perfume even for the office since the scent is not overwhelming and the trail isn't very big either.

aweso10

i think of this one as pretty basic but pleasant. nothing special, sometimes gives me a headache though. smells like some body lotion that i'd find in my grandma's house. wish it was a little more ginger-forward!

ayken

It is good a decent one but it smells like a hand cream- Nivea those ones in the round blue container.

gxbjw

I’m a 26 y/o bald guy with full beard. Honestly I’d rock the drydown of this fragrance wearing a white t-shirt and black shorts. I get it, the first 20 minutes of this fragrance is chaotically synthetic, but I’d wait half an hour after applying this before leaving my house.

Off my skin it comes off EXTREMELY soapy, reminding me of a Bvlgari bar soap I used in a 5-star hotel, therefore I don’t really perceive it as a totally feminine scent.

My girlfriend who’s also my age can’t stand this fragrance tho. She said doesn’t matter how good the drydown is, the opening is a dealbreaker.

helenearne

The drydown in this is very delicious. A bit spicy, a bit uplifring, a bit warm.. Great combination! I prefer the drydown to when first spraying it - it's a bit too candied ginger for me to start with.
It's too floral for me personally, but I would appreciate it on someone else for sure! Will give my decant to my mother as I think she'll really like this!

Gioia's secret

I like Twilly, but I don’t feel it on me unless I am not moving, but it has very beautiful dry down.
I won’t recommend to buy it blindly, as it has unusual smell. I have bought this perfume as it reminds me my grandma. She was having a giant chest where she was storing her favourite dresses and scarfs and Twilly totally resembles the scent that was coming from that chest.

brokesta911

Hermes Twilly (2017) - ginger tuberose - #christinenagel ‘s perfume is a true gender bender. Its heart tuberose, jasmine and orange blossom, yet what brings it to a unique masterpiece would be the addition of spicy ginger and woody sandalwood.

Atomikbomb_

"Bitter orange" could not be more of an appropriate term, as this opens with a spicy, somewhat dry and arid ginger and citrus. It's more of a peel/rind citrus than a juicy one. It's nice on a slightly chilly, gloomy day (although I'm not sure this would survive winter air once it hits the drydown).

Once it does dries, it begins to morph into the fraternal twin to Armani Code Pour Femme! It's really quite similar, but Code has more muscle. However, this still has a bit more character and spice than Code, so I prefer this slightly on scent alone. However, Code has this beat in terms of longevity and sillage. So...

It's a decent ginger, but I honestly like my spicy notes turned up a little louder, and Twilly definitely plays it safe. Yet still, it's enjoyable and the tuberose does well in the composition. I wasn't sure how this was going to actually work out alongside ginger (those are two drama queen notes) but it's nice! A little upscale, a little dressy, and a little sassy. It has a warming, comforting quality. It's definitely on the warm side, but isn't too gourmand, and it has an energizing quality 💫

JessVanEgg

This is a fresh white floral and slightly spicy fragrance, with notes of ginger, tuberose, sandalwood, and hints of bitterness. It smells beautiful in my opinion, and it’s a perfect fragrance for those spring and autumn days where it’s not too warm yet not too cold. It’s a bit more of a feminine scent too.

However, the performance is quite disappointing. It lasted for about 3 hours tops, and I found the trail to be quite intimate. In fact, nobody knew I was wearing it until I told them and got closer to them.

5.5/10. The scent is a solid 7 but the performance is a 4 if I’m being generous.

kkaattjjeess

I'm hesitant with white floral dominant perfumes but I will happily wear this! I agree it's not particularly unique but I really don't care, it's pleasant, wearable and quite elegant in a way.

I keep thinking it reminds me of something, but scrolled along the "Reminds Me of" section and it's none of those.

Dee Reddy

This fragrance has all the notes that I absolutely love, I've recently gotten into fragrances with ginger after trying Ani-Nishane and i love the ginger opening in this too. Very easy to wear, beautiful scent, well blended, works very well with my skin. It is very pleasant, i live in a tropical country and i wouldn't worry about this being too much infact i thing this would be a lovely spring/summer scent when it isn't too hot(only because it would disappear). This could easily be an everyday wear/casual scent.
My only issue with this is that it doesn't last long enough, i don't think i can smell the dry down which is a bummer because I'd love to smell some sandalwood in it. Maybe trying this in monsoon or autumn would be different.

grapefruit352

Not bad fragrance at all, but lucks a bit of individuality. Although impression is quite good.

igalmusic

Absolutely beautiful fragrance! The opening is very zesty and refreshing, then it blends beautifully with floral notes, and sandalwood in the base- perfection!
I had a sample of this perfume last year and I didn't like it, I have decided to try it out again this year and I just fell in love, probably my new signature scent. Perfect for every single occasion, very feminine. And the bottle reminds me of Charlie Chaplin.

Tovah

I’m in love. If iI could formulate a perfume for my self, it would be just like this one! Zesty ginger, seductive tuberose, and excellent lasting power. This is beautiful!

louiee

Lovely bubblegum tuberose, fresh ginger, bitter orange and sandal Wood which turns a bit coconutty - to me in this well blended scent.

I smell sunshine, soapy and pure feminine energy in this little gem.
The tuberose is as well done as is madonnas truth or dare which I adore.

Longevity and silage is a perfect moderate. I cant stop smelling my wrist when I wear it.

Love love love for all seasons and all occasions

Monyka TC.

Twilly d’Hermès Eau De Parfum — the combination of classic in modern twist. The kind of scent that will announce one’s confidence, sophistication, classy and chic in a feminine way. It is fresh and pleasant but warm enough, so it can be considered versatile for either day or night, cool or warm, casual or official; yet you need to make sure to dress nicely and stunning to pull it off. Personally, I think the best occasion for this fragrance would be official gala dinner, not casual evening party.

ilayda

Smells like turkish kolonya but more long lasting and heavy. The white florals really take center stage while the ginger prevents it from being powery. Theres a warmth to this scent making it perfect for the fall.

Spicy89

Beautiful tuberose, jasmin, vanilla and sandalwood with spicy ginger. Love it!

Subhuman

You're walking through a garden after a spring rain, sipping ginger tea. Suddenly the ground opens up and you slip into a churning vortex of Sandalwood Goop™. An insufferably perky millennial appears, spraying you with her boyfriend's shaving foam as you slowly drown in sweet, creamy nothingness.

Is Twilly good? I have no idea. Do I need another bottle of it? Yes.

CornDog

Blast of ginger in the opening, and it’s a bit reminiscent of what I can only be described as being hit in the face by a bouquet of flowers. For the next hour, and not to the same extent as maybe some photorealistic niche perfumes, it’s a bit like walking through a wet garden after it rains. Was going to forget about this one because I’m not a fan of scents that are predominantly floral.. but one hour in and it mellows out into something classy and huggable. The sandalwood is wonderful, making the dry down pretty addicting. Now I’m thinking about buying the full bottle…

des303

I get ginger in the opening and it gets very soapy to me after 20 minutes. Still a good everyday scent in my opinion.

violetelle

Really lovely scent. As others have said, the ginger is most prominent in the opening and the drydown is soft, when the florals and sandalwood shine. I also wish the initial ginger note lasted longer but it’s a very pleasant and put-together kind of scent. I get lots of compliments when I wear this and people remark on how long it lasts. This is my Christmas perfume :)

amyvdplas

This is not for everyone and I think that's a good thing. It's feisty chique - the ginger kicks in immediately. After an hour it becomes softer, but never really super-sweet. The sandalwood takes over and it becomes a somewhat powdery scent, with a raw egde due to the ginger and bitter oranges. I love the dry & spicy punch in the face in the beginning and wish it lasted longer, however the drydown is lovely, creamy & soft too. Don't overspray though, 1 or maybe 2 sprays is more than enough to smell it the whole day.

Framilli

Nice clean and fresh scent it's also very unique which I love about it, it's just that i don't love it. I feel like if the bitter orange was changed into something a bit more peachy sweet i would love it!

hola gigi

Fresh soapy opening. Then comes the ginger which quickly develops into a creamy sandalwood vanilla skin scent. It's different, not mainstream.. & not a safe blind buy.

coffeefifofum

It opens on the skin with mellowed ginger, not terribly sharp like fresh grated or candy sweet, just ginger from the spice bottle. There's bit of orange which is a nice transition to the orange blossom of the middle notes. The sandalwood provides some depth of scent. I don't much care for vanilla in perfumes, but the bit of it here doesn't bother me. It's not candy or candle, it's just vanilla. I found the scents true to scent rather than perfumy or synthetic. This is an unsweetened perfume unlike what I'd expect from the pink and ribboned bottle.

Some of the other reviewers note that this is supposed to be a youthful scent but they don't feel it comes across that way. In my mind it would have been perfect on the 16 year old exchange student from Paris who lived with us for a month. This isn't American youth like Riverdale and Ariana Grande. This is taking the metro alone and your parents know you smoke and neither of those is considered a negative youth. The maturity of advanced independence and the brightness of a limitless future.

Morex1983

Smelt this and I have to say it reminds me so much of tuberose imperial from bdk which I love. Twilly has a little bit of spice which I think it’s from the ginger, it’s also really creamy and definitely a crowd pleaser . I love it tho but I doubt I’ll get this as I already own tuberose imperial from bdk.

emma katherine

It has a slight powdery note to it that hides the punch of the ginger on my skin but on paper, it's incredible. Definitely try on your skin before you buy but overall, I think it's a very easy fragrance to like. The Eau Poivree version is better IMO but they didn't have a smaller size available at the store so bought this one.

Franci90

Twilly d'Hermes is a sort of wasted occasion, IMO. On paper, it is the perfect recipe for me: all my favourite flowers plus the ginger! I like also the concept behind its creation: a white floral fragrance in a more easy, less formal, cheerful, sparkling vibe. But something in its execution did not deliver the potential. All in all, I think that Twilly is not a well balanced fragrance. And this is not only a problem if my skin chemistry, I perceive the issue even more on paper. White flowers do not bloom in this fragrance, they lacks their full beauty, too subtle; whereas, on the contrary, Ginger is really badly balanced here, to overpowering: sometimes it gives a spicy freshness, sometimes it is soo screechy. The opening and the core of Twilly alternate between those two states, with the subdued white flower in the background, only the shadow of temselves. In the dry down it becomes more balanced and pleasant, a sort of aquatic freshness. Nice but generic. I don't want to dismiss totally Twilly (as instead I do with its two flankers), but I am not fully convinced by its execution either

uno

finest ginger ale. I love

thestranger

Sobering kick of ginger in the opening that fades into a pleasant but forgettable prettiness. It’s polite and universally likable, but feels separate from me when I wear it. Definitely “perfume-y” and more mature. I was surprised that Christine Nagel was “inspired by the free, bold and unpredictable spirit of young girls”.

ArcticCrocus

Took a few tries for my nose to warm up to this fragrance. When I think about how it smells, I think about this slightly oversized ivory-white cashmere-alpaca Neiman Marcus sweater with soft cabling and a fuzzy halo of comfort that I scored at a thrift store years ago as a teen for $5. I wore it with leggings, heavy doc martin’s, and a little silk neckerchief and felt SO sophisticated in my little provincial hometown. A little spicy off the top and then mellows into this exceptionally cozy vanilla with a hint of sweetness.

I often can’t stand the bubblegum of tuberose, and often hate cloying vanillas, but here it just the right amount of sweetness.

Yes Malena

The sandalwood in this is very pretty. I see why the ginger note is polarizing, because it can either read as a nice spicy kick or a sour, pickled note. The disparate parts hang together surprisingly well. Even with the unpredictable ginger, I can still enjoy the base notes. I don't find the opening notes too sharp. The florals are short-lived on my skin. Most of the experience is spent with the sandalwood, vanilla, and ginger notes sort of circling one another. Or the ginger circling the sweet and woody notes, rather. For me, this perfume is not something I crave to wear. But that sandalwood is very pretty, and I get hints of something slightly animalic that I really like. I will pass along the rest of my sample to someone else.

TeachOlfactoryArt

Green spicy earthy herbal soapy tuberose. If you’ve smelled tuberose absolute this is close. To me it’s a masculine. It’s not especially floral in the “pretty” sense. It smells like an amazing classy masculine spicy bracing shave product. I love it.

chyan

I accidentally bought three identical samples of this thinking I was getting one original and two variations and didn’t realize until now id purchased the original scent only. This is pretty disappointing because I’m definitely not digging this in any way whatsoever.

This is a very powdery white floral with ginger notes in the opening. Difficult to distinguish anything but indistinct white flowers and ginger. A dose of musk here would have created some balance and brought out the individual notes of the flowers. On the dry down the tuberose is prominent.

Kind of reminds me of dolce and gabbana “the one” original, but with ginger instead of the delicious vanilla in D & G. D &G is also more distinctive / unique and way more pronounced.

Not much projection or staying power on this, either. Probably one of few scents I’ve purchased that I will not wear again and will have to donate to my mom or sister.

emilyjxne

This is such a gem of a designer fragrance!
To my nose it opens really sharp and like Love Heart sweets. Citrus, sweet & powdery.
As it dries down, it becomes less sharp/fruity & more soap-like, floral & fresh. It’s really gorgeous.
I think this is a great spring/summer scent for everyday wear or even a signature scent.
I’d wear this to the office but when I smell Twilly, I think it’s the perfect brunch scent for a girly day shopping or something like that.
I didn’t like the Ginger flanker and haven’t tried the other ones.

Millefolium

Very strong floral and citrus at first, harshly so. Then comes the sweetness, the powder and some sandalwood. Strange hit of rubber or something mineral. Feels old-lady, generic department store perfume. The dry down rounds out a little, and lasts (too long, IMO) It's a boring, unoriginal frag..
On 2nd try, I find it still awful. Actually had to scrub it off. "Blousy"is a word I saw used in relation to this frag. Not for me.

FabulouslyLazy

I’ve been testing this perfume over and over again (even today!) but I’ve never managed to get past the ‘burnt ginger’ feeling. I suppose it’s the sandalwood and bitter orange accord that literally clashes with my skin chemistry. If you’re experiencing the same issue, I’d recommend that you try L’Eau Ginger.

ingeneuxo

-I had to get my nose on this when I passed a Hermes counter at the department store. Ginger as a note.. how interesting!
-This comes across as a warm spicy floral that just seems a bit mature for me.
-Perhaps, better suited for women 40 and up?
-Twilly EDP is a perfume-y scent...in the vein of fragrances from designers such as Jimmy Choo.
-Not super refined. And to be honest, the ginger note is weird to me.
-Hermes, please save ginger for the pot of tea (-)

RaheemB

This one is quite interesting, I must say. Twilly is a spicy, floral, woody scent. There is an elegant nature to this fragrance, which can easily lean unisex, guys do not sleep on this one. Performance is quite amazing and potent as well. The only drawback to this fragrance is its versatility as I don't see this fragrance working in most situations and also some persons might not appreciate this fragrance due to its unique facets. However, I abosulety love this one.

PekoeMint

This oddly reminds me of what my grandmother's vanity smelled like, a combination of hairspray, perfumes, creams and powders (a touch of cigarettes because my grandfather smoked). It can be a regal scent, picturing a mature woman in a chic suit, a purse hanging from her arm, low heels and matching hat or well coifed hair.

It does start off with a blast of hairspray, then transitions into a sandalwood/aftershave scent with just the barest hint of vanilla. This can lean masculine as it's not particularly feminine.

It's not my style, so it's a pass for me.

Mona708

The ginger livens up the bitter orange and bergamot in the beginning; it provides a bracing sharpness perfect for cooler weather. This gives way to a creamy yet tart floral blend after a couple of hours. I also really liked the sandalwood and vanilla blend in the base notes. Best of all is the longevity: I put six sprays of this on a little before 6AM today and it lasts until at least 7PM! I wish more scents lasted longer like this. I will buy myself a bottle later on 😀

venussansfurs

Conventional scent with a lot of ginger, orange and tuberose (better than its flankers in my opinion, which I don't care for). The reviewer who mentioned Avon's Skin So Soft is spot on, it smells very similar to me. I think it fits this house, though, moreso than some of their other latter-day, more offbeat offerings...it's conservative but in a younger, modern sort of way, in contrast to their mature classics. Rather strong sillage so you don't need to use much. Best for early autumn days.

monokeros

When you spray it you smell ginger and tuberose!
BUT..when dries down, you smell very nice and clean soapy powder!! That's all!! Clean soapy powder🧼
Love it! Smells clean elegant and rich!!

carlacaskay

I really wanted to like this, but the intense tuberose gives me Elizabeth Taylor White Diamond. The longevity of sillage is out of this world though.

Clem1982

On initial spray it smells like hairspray, then it dries down to an almost masculine floral, then after a few hours you’re left with extremely strong sandalwood, which remains on my arm 10 hours later, despite 3 attempts to wash it off. If you like long lasting woody scents then this is for you!

ravenna

Yawn. You could break this down and try to find something interesting, but somehow it managed to make ginger boring. It's an easy crowd-pleaser, very polite, but somehow it makes you feel unspecial. And I don't normally do risky scents, but there's just so many better signature scents/ mass-appealing floral fragrances to have.

For some reason, it smells like a tea shop in a shopping centre. Not tea itself, but all the different scents from the tea leaves mixed with department store smell.

Florind

Hermes, ginger, honey, mint spicy, complex, Hwa~
Smells expensive, niche perfume, unique
Masculine parfum which is mild, handsome, sweet and kind
It has cooling effect (not cool smell) with warm scent.
