I love it!!! Not a ''rosy'' fragrance. Makes me happy. 10/10

pynchbookclub

I think I need to give up on Twilly perfumes. They just never hit the spot and smell very sharp to my nose. I'm not a fan of pink pepper and this is very prominent. However, it's not too bad. Usually rose scents make me nauseous, and this one actually isn't too bad. The warm, woody, patchouli dry down is what makes this okay for me.

Graciegrace

A very one of a kind, distinctively fresh. Though it is fresh, it smells expensiiive!
I like this one better than the original because it's less "gingery".
Sadly it didn't last at all, only for 1-2 hours, i wouldn't buy a "body mist" at that price point.

Edit: Second sniff, i somehow didn't feel it as divine as on my first try, idk.

Florind

why my review has been disappeared?

Ground hound

Interesting warm perfume, a good pinch of realistic enough pepper, warm rose, earthy patchuli, there is surprisingly a lot going on despite only a few notes, and everything is very harmonious. I might actually get a bottle.

smelling.sniffing.swan

I don’t agree with the notes listed here.
I get freshly juicy grapefruit with a candy sweetness.

Some beautifully blended animalics and musk balance the sugar out very nicely.
Regardless, it remains a little too sweet for me.

A woody, hay-like note in the dry down.
Overall I find the dry down more likeable than the opening, as some of that candy settles down a bit.

VERDICT:
Fun and interesting but a bit too feminine of a profile for my preference.

arefuthescroob

Beautiful, soft rose. Very elegant and joyful scent.

D. M. 11

This is well put scent, and one can appreciate it even if not a fan.
However, and to get to the point, if you don't like patchouli, don't even try

Whateverwhocares

Typical, feminine rose base. Ladies, you can do better!

They say the note of pink pepper in fragrances makes people think you are prettier, is it true?

charle_wallace

This was my go-to scent for spring/summer/autumn 2022. More feminine than I’ve been wearing lately, but I love the pepper opening that settles into a papery rose. Definitely has some “mature” feminine qualities (which to me usually means powdery/musky), but I dunno…wearing this at 28 I felt like a young kid putting on their mom’s lipstick and high heels: the final effect is “cute.”

Bentoix

This has almost the same scent as rose heavy floral fabric softener, which to me is very pleasant. I wouldn't specifically associate it as a perfume if smelling it on somebody, and not specifically sweet feminine smell. The longevity is great and the scent is noticeable although it won't overpower the room. After initial berry freshness it is mostly woody rose.

thaochipnd

The scent is elegant, but too old and dated for me. I really don't like it at all.

vanilladoll

i’ll start off by saying this isn’t my kind of scent. i got this from my sister because she wasn’t wearing it and didn’t want it to go to waste. on first spray all i can smell is pepper. the most accurate thing i can liken it to is a freshly sharpened pencil. then on dry down i get the rose and patchouli, which is ok. when i pair it with one of my more sweet/floral body sprays, it manages to bring out the other notes and it becomes a much nicer smell. very old lady though imo.

babypong

strong pink pepper opening, and strong patchouli base notes. I don't get any strong rose notes. I don't really get why the reviews for this are divisive, I wouldn't gift it to anyone, but I don't think it could be perceived as a bad smell. It has moderate silage and lasts 4-5 hours on me. I think it's a unique clean smell, although it is linear.

Amen! Hallelujah!

I absolutely love this gem! You must love Patchouli to really appreciate it. It is first and foremost a Patchouli scent, and then it it is a rose scent, for me at least. I get some fruity notes, as well, oddly! The Pink pepper compliments all of the above beautifully. More than a play dough it gives me an 80's hairspray in a can or a really well scented 70's or 80's soap, luxurious edition, (although clean soapy has been mentioned), the one you buy for your mom or gran for Christmas as a kid with your pocket money! It has a undisputed Hermes top notch quality to it, and that goes for the ingredience selection and mixing of the notes! It is just an exquisite, a bit retro or vintage but a yummy gem anyway! Dry down is very creamy indolic, tuberose almost, which is the best part when the first hit of peppered Patchouli fades down a bit. I just love this as a UNISEX, too! Although lot of people would object to the idea an Alpha male rocking this! LOL! Which I get! I am a bit obsessed with it right now, so a definite LOVE from me! :) P.S. I sometimes layer this with the gorgeous ASDAAF cheapie Majd Al Sultan, which creates an amazing combo or sweet rose patchouli + smokey woodsy incense! OBSESSED!

Zevota

This plus crispy autumm air is so beautiful and sophisticated! In the beginning it is strong and quite matute, but then dries down to a nice elegant scent. Love it during colder months!

Allybabaa

Not a fan- gave it to my sister though and she said it's her new signature LOL. It smells kind of "dirty".... must be the patchouli. I love patchouli but this doesn't do it right. Smells mature as well and not super appealing to a younger crowd. 6.5/10 to me.

mmiamuse

It took my nose a while to come around to this fragrance. It was too mature for my nose at first but now I enjoy it. I don't reach for this often but sometimes I get a craving to wear this. I think this is great for year round.

Eriksen

A soapy and clean rose. Office friendly

denizyaltrik

Smells like luxurious cream/lotion after the pepper note fades away.

christopherdior

I loved this in the store and purchased right away but have forgotten about it and it’s just sat anmongst all my others for awhile now.

Today I was drawn to put it on and I’m glad I did! It’s VERY spicy and peppery at first which I’m not a fan of which is probably why it’s been abandoned.

But the dry is very lovely, very sensual. I cant stop smelling myself. The pepper is still there but softer and really lets the rose come out.

It’s interesting because I wouldn’t say this is very Rosey or patchouli like, if you’re not a fan of patchouli you might still like this. It just lends a powdery note to the spicy rose.

I’m kinda obsessed with this one now and won’t leave it abandoned again

chlorodream

There is a playdough quality to this fume that I just love. It’s got this kind of salty funky edge to the rose, and it gets truly addictive. It’s a remnant, I think, of the original Twilly, which has the same vibe but without rose. The juxtaposition of the two in this flanker is so… ridiculously moreish though. I’m strongly considering a full bottle, even in my new “minimalism” era of life. It’s just sexy and demure but SEXY at the same time. Like, a high class woman showing you the top of a stocking in a private space, or a forbidden romp with someone you’d least expect it from. I don’t know how else to describe it! There’s just an absolute nakedness to it. I may need to buy this.

WijayantiKusuma

I am really into roses lately. I’m in love with Paris Paris Chanel and then my colleague got Twilly Eau Poivree as a gift. Sniffed it, and fell in love with it. It’s spicy roses, with musky dry down and a bit powdery. I can’t stop sniffed my own wrist and the dry down really reminds me of the original Twilly D’hermes which I love it too. It last moderately on my skin, a good 5-6 hours with only 1 spray. I will run and buy a bottle!

katie02kat

I was expecting something better, it's not bad, it's a mature woman's perfume

charmlaurene

I'm not sure if I really like the scent of this kind of Twilly, I should have bought the Twilly classic instead. Not really a fan of floral scent, but I only bought the smallest bottle, probably wont buy it again. it doesnt smell bad but I just don't like it very much. I bought it mistakenly for twilly classic

belle99

is anybody else smelling lou lou with this? like the old bottles from back in the day? to me this smells exactly like it? i mean identical?

dazzlingpepper

Blind bought it from Ross for $35 and hated it at first, it was not a good day. Fast forward a few months and I've found myself really warming up to this spicy beauty. I love pepper, I love rose and I love patchouli. I love each separately and I love all three in a combo and this simple little mix is perfection, though I really cannot pinpoint what it is exactly that I'm smelling but it's good and a little spicy. Today this fragrance stands out in my collection: she's classy, she smells mature and sophisticated. We've had good times together with more to come as I will continue to repurchase for as long as she remains on the market.

MacabreLemon

I thought the pepper note faded too quickly but four hours after spraying my 5-year-old said she felt like there was a "spicy smell that goes down to my mouth." So maybe that was just me going nose blind. An hour later the 5-year-old got fresh flowers, so that's probably closer to the real lifespan of the pepper note.

I love this scent. I found it a dynamic spicy, woody, floral scent that was interesting without being avant-garde. It's mature and bold without being stuffy or offensive. I can imagine myself wearing this on a day when I have Big Work Meeting to pump myself up. This is easy to overspray, for professional settings I wouldn't use more than 1-2 spritzes.

Lotte_Liese

Oh yes, oh yes, oh yes, bring it on Hermès. Finally a fragrance after my heart: 3 notes but so much complexity. For one, the patchouli is not intense and bothersome, it is present, oui, but it only adds complexity and that bit of earthiness. What is on show here is a pink pepper that is warm and spicy, and red rose so sensual it is to die for.
Oh yes, spicy, feminine, subtly sweet, a fragrance with personality and depth, oh yes.

charmims

First sniff: grandma
Second sniff: okay, I can sense the pepper
Third sniff: Smells a bit like Louis Vuitton’s Nouveau Monde, which is one of my favorite scents.

bathinginblackorchid

Makes me smell like Turkish delight - love.

sarp0207

It smells good. It starts with strong flowers with pen sharpener feeling. It’s not good as classic twilly for me but it can be good choice if u want something more adult.

diamond74

I purchased Twilly Eau Poivree in 2021, and did not care for it. Returned it. I did order it online recently . So upon first spray, it’s still powdery pencil shavings to me, but I like it. And it’s very peppery. I don’t smell a lot of rose tbh. This smells very much like Alien Fusion, which I have in my collection. I’m guessing it’s the pink pepper, that’s imitating the cinnamon in Alien Fusion. I’m not sure if this will be ok to wear, in high heat and humidity. I will update soon…..

bathinginblackorchid

I actually blind bought this on impulse two years and was left shocked at how quickly I’d made the decision. However, my intuition has rarely misled me before, and this was an example - despite not being the sort of perfume I wore frequently at the time, it quickly became a firm favourite. It’s been a while since I’ve reached for this one, though - but I’m feeling my spicier fragrances more of late.

Elfin Will

Disappointment.

When I tested it, I LOVED the scent. The best opening of the 3 Twillys. A spicy rose, soft and sweet.
10 min later, no more rose note. Only a strong spicy base of pink pepper and a bit of patchouli remain. It's true though, the name fits it so well.

Twilly Eau Epicée is my least favorite of the 3 Twilly variants!

7/10

antoniov

Not a very strong sillage or projection on me and it doesn't seem to last long too. Other Rose fragrances are a better fit on my skin.

1037

Sweet jammy rose + peppery pencil shavings. One of my favorites in my collection and lasts ALL DAY. Not super similar to the original Twilly in my opinion. This is definitely sweeter and younger to my nose. Also I don't get patchouli at all, but I definitely smell cedar.

Shaven

Eau Poivree is quite different from the original Twilly featuring spicy pink pepper. I still can see this is a Twilly flanker though. There is a "Rosewater and Pink Peppercone" from Crabtree and Evelyn, not in the database, which shares some traits with this. Being Hermes, Twily Eau Poivree is more refined while CaE's creation is bothering me with its nose tingling roughness.

I smell mostly pink pepper, a little rose, a pinch of pencil shaving like wood(cedarwood?), and patchouli. It veers to the department store perfume, inoffensive and tiny bit generic but very pleasant nonetheless. Although the scent itself seems to be geared toward younger crowd, there is something mature(like Alces Alces's review below, I also feel upscale skincare) as well. Guess this is why I like this.

barwench

I love rose fragrances, especially spicy rose ones. The Twilly is just not rich or strong enough for my liking for me to get a bottle, but I'd wear it if I were given a bottle. Because it's not too strong even though it's got spice, I think it is a safe office scent.

Alces Alces

It's hard for me to pull out individual note in this. Mostly I get peppery ginger, not much rose. It's a clean crisp fragrance, definitely of the modern chypre genre. More than anything else it reminds me of the air in the cosmetics section of a department store, floating bits of this and that scent or face cream melding into a glamorous smear. Which makes me like it a lot.

If you spray this on clothes, they smell like new clothes you just brought home from a department store.

The ad copy about how the Hermes girls swim against the tide just cracks me up. If anything was ever settled and inoffensive, it's Twilly Eau Poivree EDP. Spray this on to show you have a maverick, countercultural nature, that you defy all rules, that you swim against the tide? No, if I want to smell like a rebellious weirdo, I have loads of scents for that (Breath of God, Black Afgano, New Sibet, Bee...). I use this when I want to smell like I have been shopping.

pimentosugars

This is a perfume that smells of, er, perfume, a kind of generic buzzing in the nostrils, an early clout of something that is almost amber-like. I do not get the pepper at all. A faint rose with a spicy edge does turn up, and there's almost a parchment quality underlying the notes, OK but a strange non-event after the prettiness of Twilly Eau Ginger.

Enrium

The original Twilly is one of my favourite perfumes. Featuring a fresh, modern take on tuberose resulting in an effortlessly elegant French-style scent, it is an easy reach for me. However, Twilly Eau Poivrée is less exciting, if competently composed. It has little in common with the original Twilly, aside from its pink liquid, and is a fairly run-of-the-mill, if good quality, rose scent.

TEP opens with pink pepper, paving the way somewhat predictably to the light, realistic rose note. Aptly named, it is nose-ticklingly peppery from the opening. The pink pepper enhances the rosiness of this scent beautifully, and lasts well beyond the opening. The rose note, initially dewy, becomes increasingly jammy as it develops. Patchouli emerges as it begins to dry down, adding a nice earthiness to the rose. It fades, becoming slightly musky at its later stages, but with remnants of the three listed notes remaining as it becomes a skin scent. It is well-blended overall. Sillage and longevity are moderate.

A decent rose scent that is spicy and earthy yet light and fresh, TEP is pleasant but predictable. It is transeasonal and feminine-leaning. While this is a nicely-made, reasonably safe scent for rose lovers, it is underwhelming in my opinion, and doesn't come close to the original (the fact that they are chalk and cheese aside!) Still, easy everyday rosy elegance. 3/5.

ggabriella

I was flirting with this perfume for years
Finally caved in after finding it on a good price on a ferry
Not mad. Not bad.
Appreciate the pepper and rose so much
To be continued

dancingdear

This completely changes depending on the weather.
In mild/warm months it is a delightfully lightly spicy rose. Appropriate for any occasion.
I didn’t know what people meant about smelling like lipstick until I tried this in cold weather. It’s a spot on description for this the rose turns a bit waxy giving it that crisp lipstick smell but the pink pepper is still there to give it a bit of spice.
I definitely like this.

vanilla121

Selling this perfume. Only sprayed once. Contact me if you are interested

puppymariah

Starts like a sweet powdery rose. A little sweet spicy and woody, not really getting any pink pepper which is disappointing since I blind-bought hoping for that. It fades to lovely patchouli and overall I'm a fan of this sweet spicy slightly jammy rose scent however it is a bit boring. Reminds me of the perfume counter as a kid.

Heavenly Heather

You really get the pink pepper in this, it’s a dry spicy rose that’s also earthy due to the patchouli. At first I wasn’t sure about it but as the day progressed I found myself really enjoying it. Now it’s one of my favorites but I have to be in the mood for it. Usually on a rainy or chilly day is when I gravitate towards it. I wouldn’t blind buy this one but I definitely recommend sampling!

Spencemonster

I have a hard time believing this doesn’t have ginger in it. Because I get a crap ton of rosey ginger. I also feel this eventually in dry down smells just like the original Twilly. This is the most similar to Twilly as well. I get LOADS of compliments on this though.

nterix

An easy-to-wear woody and peppery rose. Eau Poivrée seems simple on first impression but develops more complexity when looked at more closely. On my skin I get a bright and fresh but fleeting pink pepper, followed by a pleasant and floral rose. The patchouli in this isn’t the dark, earthy version that I’m used to smelling from other patchouli notes—the patchouli in this fragrance is very woody and does a good job of grounding the light scent of the pepper and rose. After a little while I get a musk that, in combination with the rose and woodiness, adds a pleasant comfort to this fragrance. 100% unisex in my opinion, I think anyone can pull off a spicy, woody rose.

karlee79

A man could pull this off , I swear I get Oud wood and also bubblegum tuberose , straight up pencil shavings drydown . This is growing on me I might have to buy a bottle , I think it might be under rated, Courant and Maiiton has the best description of this scent down below ,hands down

soso.sofia

An interesting scent. When I smell the bottle it is very spicy, extremely peppery and even nearly makes me sneeze. It doesn't react well with my skin chemistry as I get a strong rosy peppery smell with mingled into something synthetic and very unpleasant.

My little commentary on the bottle itself, and for all the Twilly bottles for that matter, is that I am always torn between deciding if they look utterly cute or ridiculous.

MelissaKS

I wish the pepper note lasted longer, I love it. This fragrance is strong on my skin, 1-2 sprays is more than enough. I’m thrilled to have a fragrance without vanilla or gourmand sweetness (even though I like those fragrances) for the fall. I get pencil shavings for the first 30 mins, which I like.

I don’t think this is unisex, it smells quite feminine to me.

Pinkmilktea85

This scent reminds me of the scented stationery papers back when I was a kid. A very nostalgic scent for me ❤️ I like the initial scent a lot, so feminine and unique, but the dry down.. there was something off putting that I can't seem to put my finger on. I wanted to love this perfume like everyone else but I just couldn't. I don't think that this is a safe blind buy. Although I have to say, I really like the bottle! It's so adorable!

ad4

I can't smell any pepper in this fragrance. In the beginning it's a clean, powdery smell, later classic nice warm patchouli. It's not very strong. Kinda safe blind buy and office friendly scent but little bit boring.

likesleet

sweet tame jasmine salt air. orange-y sweet garden in mexico

chlorodream

A nice, complex peppery rose. Earthy, sparkly patchouli, not head-shop patchouli. Very nice.

natasha calli

The Twilly is perfect under the intense heat. Despite the warm and humid weather, it stands triumphant on its own making itself known. A great fragrance for those who love the spicy, woody and musky scents. Although it smells a little masculine, it is strong and firm despite the long hours of wear. A good fragrance. But not my cup of tea.

CR95

It's a very classy scent on the floral side with touch of baby powder. Still doesn't smell immature. I would say it can be worn by young women in their 20's, 30's.

emilymonroe1

Twilly Poivree is peppery and well-balanced. The patchouli is bitter but not medicinal, and the roses Accord are the concept of a rose-pink scent rather than the actual flower. It begins with a heavy pink pepper note and progresses to a light woody rosy base that is very cool, comfortable, and airy. Twilly Poivrée is a sweet floral scent with excellent longevity and sillage. Simple but potent fragrance. beautiful!

violeteme

Even when the notes are completely different, I wouldn't say this smells so different from the original, Not too similar, yes, but it smells like a toned down, easier, less creamy, less lavish version of the original. It's even difficult to believe that this is rose and patchouli combo. I find this beautiful and elegant, but still prefer the original version of Twilly. +

Rosegardener

It smells exactly like Elizabeth Arden's Red Door at first and I hated it but after 20 minutes or so it settles into something more subtle and I smell a bit of the original Twilly. It's very sophisticated and warm and has a good lasting power. I would recommend it for day time, summer and spring wear. Don't judge it at first, like I did, because then it smelt like Red Door which I don't like but the end result is unique, sweet and strong but not empowering.

Edit: The pepper isn't like the smell of black pepper, it's softer type of scent. I would say that if you like the original Twilly then you will enjoy it too but if you hate r strong scents then this may not be for you. It isn't overpowering but it isn't subtle either. Hope it makes sense.

Marxwick

Floral rose with patchouli in the background that has decent sillage and projection.

kkaattjjeess

I was on the verge of blind-buying this fragrance multiple times, but thank God I decided to get a sample first. I don't really like this. I do enjoy the original Twilly, but this one isn't very similar to it.

I think it's the strange muddy patchouli that makes me dislike this scent, very much not my vibe. Seems to sit close to the skin from the get go.

laurenrebeccaroth

While the packaging and notes seem floral, I get more powdery fresh. It's a crowd pleaser and I get compliments all the time, men asking me what it is to buy it for their wives and women want to buy it themselves. This is one of my favorites in my collection. If you are thinking about it, BUY IT!

TheMunchkinlander

I understand why this is so polarizing. While the packaging might scream chic, this is actually a very hippie scent; woody and powdery. Though the rose does give it a feminine vibe, I perceive it as dry, which adds a bucolic, "masculine" edge to it. Even though I'm not fond of patchouli, I can bare it in this one as it blends so well with the rose and the pepper. This makes me think of a dry, dry garden under the midday sun, there's no green, it's all the browns and yellows of the withered rosebushes, and the reds and oranges of the clay tiles, and the light blue of the clear skies: all this in the tenderness of a soft powdery breeze.
FB worth if you can pull off a hippie/cowgirl look, Avoid if you expect a fresh or sparkling rose.

Guerlinade01

True, it does take you back in time...reminds me of my aunt's perfum (Cabotine, Gres)! Lovely, nostalgic, high performance.

ayken

Rosey floral almost like a minty fresh scent. Simple but it had this unique side to it- makes you feel like you do not live in the 21st century. Takes you back in time- for example, you're walking in the green fields where a bunch of beautiful flowers surrounds you. This scent leans towards more feminine.

Slickchick81

Gorgeous. I love this, I can see though why some wouldn't like a spicy peppered floral, but I do. I also think this is perfectly unisex, smells like really expensive soap, the pepper is so spicy I love it, it is classy but with an edge. Not a safe blind buy but I blind bought it as the notes sounded like me. Definitely glad I have added it to my collection and I love the bottle.

zhetheru

I love pink pepper, but this fragrance smells weak to me. it sits intimately against my skin, which I'm not a fan of. I prefer fragrances that project; intimate scents feel like a waste of money unless they possess longevity, which this does not.

thefrenchie

I freakin love this scent!!

Dramaloladiva

Well, I love this one. I love it very much!!
On my skin, after the initial blast of peppery goodness, I get a well behaved rose and it is absolutely wonderful. There is still a hint of that pepper during the entire wear but a lot more tame and almost sweet. The patchouli is subtle and almost nonexistent (on my skin).
This is lovely and I am wearing it mostly during the Spring because I find it fresh, invigorating and it evokes pink Roses to me.
Longevity is not the best, 4-5 hours but who cares? It is so nice!
No resemblance whatsoever with the Original Twilly as the OG has a ginger note and very flowery notes (which are sooooooooo lovely by the way).

All in all, a wonderful experience and I enjoy it immensely!♥️♥️

Anne57

I should like this - I like pink pepper and I like rose and patchouli. I have the greatest admiration for Christine Nagel and Hermes and own many of her creations. I like the original Twilly. And I like scents that lean unisex, are not too sweet, and are a bit odd or unusual. But....Twilly Eau Poivree....all I get is cat pee. I picked this up at Ross on clearance for $30, so I will try living with it for a bit. Perhaps it just needs to settle down after the trauma of the clearance bin at Ross. Or maybe, alas, on me, it is Eau de Chat.

courant

It honours the pillar fragrance, which was pleasing because Twilly is a lovely creation, I just don't happen to like the dry down/exit. Neither of them lack certainty, you better wear them or they'll wear you. I'm exploring a few roses at the moment and Eau Poivree is a bit of a character. She has to go up against Nahema, Quel Amour, Rose Nobile, Eau de Protection, Paul Smith and vials of Rosine. In this she scores highly. The pencil shavings, ISO E, register but don't overwhelm. I can't really fathom how some find a bit of YSL's Paris in it but can sense a bit of Si Lolita, but it's not enough to take it off its perch. Yes, I fell for the bottle and I will be wearing this quite a bit in 2022.

Nora Gad

i couldn't stand for it ,It's so spicy with masculine vibe , i don't recommend it for anyone actually ,It's one of the worst fragrances i have ever smelled in 2021

yenphuong.bui

Picked up the 1.69 oz bottle today from Ross marked down for $29! Very pleasantly surprised to find Hermes at Ross! So I can definitely say the value is there!

The moment I unwrapped the cellophane around the box, I get whiffs of the pink peppercorn. I noticed the whole paper box smelled like pink peppercorn but the bottle was intact. Upon spraying it, you definitely get punched with the sparkling pink peppercorn. Sparkling is such the perfect adjective for the pink peppercorn. As you keep breathing it in, you will notice a thicker, warmer, woody heart of pink and red florals. The patchouli helps the rose from becoming a dowdy, musty rose. It is very plush, modern, and mature without the weight of the 1990’s.

I would recommend if you enjoy modern florals, mature fragrances that are not complemented by sweet fruits.

I really love this one. Smelled this at a perfume counter and couldnt forget it.
I bought this one the original og eau ginger. I like them all in a different way.

The rose is amazing is this one. Its well blended but yppige can easily detect the 3 notes.
Powdery, spicy and a bit of dirty patchouli.
Feminine, joyous and playful.

Silage is moderate and so is longevity

Tovah

I'm not one to avoid spicy scents, so "pepper" naturally caught my eye. This is peppery at first, in a gentle, powdery way. It's such a light, airy concoction it's hard to believe there's really patchouli in here. The rose is sort of a "rosewater" rose...not a full-bodied rich rose. I picked this up at Marshall's for $50! A It's over $100 at Sephora - so it's a good deal! I didn't mind paying $50 for it, but I wouldn't go any higher. While I do really enjoy the fragrance, I wish it was a little bolder! I wish the spiciness lasted longer before becoming powder. I do love this powder though. So much. This fragrance reminds me of another I just can't place. I think it might be Vivienne Westwood Anglomania, which I wore ages ago. This isn't nearly as ...well...Vivienne Westwood...but it's got a bit of rebellion in its mix. This is a compliment getter. Long after I think it's disappeared I get compliments. I may be slightly anosmic to something others notice. The kind of fragrances that grab me head over heel are Narciso Rodriguez musks, and classic Chanels. This is a wonderful modern fragrance, because its distinctive, yet it doesn't dare bother anyone. I can wear it to my heart's content. And I can spray it like it's the 90s and nobody runs away. I love the aesthetic of Twilly...I love the bottles, the colors, the little scarves, and the art on the boxes. I am unable to think of anything related to any "age"...such a stupid way to limit oneself...but my 14 year old daughter really likes eau Poivree as well. My favorite of the Twillys so far is eau Ginger...so far. I'll buy Twillys as long as they're around!

Isawhat

This one is weird, although I guess any perfume where the star note is pink peppercorn is going to be weird. When I first spray it I get this completely original effervescent pepper with some rose and I start to think this could be my signature scent. This is rose like I've never smelled it before.

But then comes the dry down on my skin and I get hit with those pink pencil erasers. I think it has to do with the pepper and patchouli mixing together, but I wasn't expecting that. If I try and erase the smell of erasers from my mind I get Savon de Marseille (a traditional soap made in the south of France).

After 40 mins, I get a rose that reminds me strongly of the rose note in Montale's Intense Cafe, which I'm not the biggest fan of. However around 4-5 hrs in, the rose mellows and becomes a light sweet candied rose. My thoughts on Twilly Eau Poivree is that it's definitely not my signature scent. I did get some compliments while wearing it but I didn't particularly enjoy wearing it for 75% of the time while it was on. I'm going to be returning it.

anothercandle

first spritz is the most amazing wet peppery rose but drydown boring (and comes very quickly)

MaxieF

This smells like a cologne. And it also smells very mature. It's a big no for me.

Szafirowy czar

Pepper notes are too much for me

keithscents

The pink pepper is so sharp, the opening is really headache-inducing. I am truly disappointed because I love rose and pink pepper notes but this one is just not my cup of tea. I only sprayed it 2x on my skin and the dry down is really awful, I washed my wrist to remove the smell. Maybe I should stop blind buying based on notes. Swapped this bottle.

Rating this 2/10. 2 because I love the design of the bottle, but that's it.

adelaidesandrina

Call me crazy but Hermes Twilly eau poivree smells like the love child of Lancome Poeme (or JPG classique) and SMN Frangipane! The dry down is very nostalgic to me, because it does resemble YSL Paris/rose powder

ingeneuxo

-This is rather different from the original Twilly EDP.
-Peppercorns are the star in Eau Poivree.
-Still has the perfumey, unrefined DNA that's associated with designer fragrances houses such as Jimmy Choo.
-Skip this unless you're wanting a loud, in your-face fragrance...and a huge peppercorn fan. (-)

Sauten

Delicate for a peppery scent, no tingle or sizzle but still manages to be sharp and fresh without being green and outdoorsy. (Also doesn't this smell more like ginger than pepper, despite the name? There is something sour like ginger juice.) Wear time 12hrs+, sillage 4-5ft with a trail.

I get more rose than pepper, not loud or sweet, more of a transparent than heavy floral. The patchouli never stands out on it's own, it adds earthiness to the pepper and gives a smoky quality. This smokiness pulls away from a green rose (rose stem and leaves and soil) towards rose incense. Has a musky dry-down with hints of pepper after ~4hrs.
I don't think this is offensive but it will make an impression, one that could be unprofessional because it does get more attention than a rose perfume normally would. (You're not going to choke anybody, but others are likely to notice you). I can see a powerhouse woman wearing this with no issue but a milder woman may get a look...

Also, there is a literal woodiness, like an actual table or log. In combo with the smokiness and freshness, theoretically, a gentleman could pull this off. Wear what you like, but note that others will smell the rose first or second

Subhuman

As irrepressibly charming as the original Twilly. The opening here is a punchy pink peppercorn, warm and slightly fruity, followed immediately by a rose that feels hypernatural the way only a rose perfume can. It brings to my mind the Technicolor heart of YSL's Paris - bold, unsubtle, and hard to resist. The drydown is soft and woody, with amber and crisp cedar tempering the bright floral burst. (If there's patchouli, it's either buried in the mix or not particularly natural, and if this is a chypre then I'm the Queen of England.) Eau Poivrée is a tad drier than the original, and its rose less conceptual than Twilly's through-the-looking-glass tuberose, but overall it isn’t a vastly different beast. They both smell like the olfactory equivalent of a wink. Pick your eyeshadow.

[Edit 10/30/2023: The more I wear Eau Poivrée, the drier and woodier it feels, and the more I get the eerie sense of a gilded retro chypre encroaching on an otherwise modern-plastic space, like Mitsouko or Knowing whispering through the walls of the Barbie Dream House. I still wouldn't call Eau Poivrée a proper chypre, but it does strike me now as at least somewhat attuned to its forebears, like a possessed child in a horror movie reciting the phrases of the Old Ones. Fun and flirty!]

Loved the sample, got a full bottle, and then started disliking it. Floral and peppery. I can absolutely see what people mean with the "pencil shavings" note. Not very sexy. I bought it New Years 2020 so that might be coloring my perceptions. I gave it a break and came back to it and started liking it more. Definitely feels colder weather for me, but again, could be my associations with when I got it.

Very strong and long lasting. One or two sprays is more than sufficient. Lasts for multiple eternities. Thou shall commit and not overspray!

JessVanEgg

This is an interesting perfume, to say the least. It has only three notes: pink pepper, which is the main one you can smell, and then rose and patchouli, which you get by paying more attention to the fragrance. It is pleasant, a spicy floral scent, yet it is soft (I don't feel like my nostrils are getting assaulted if I put on a little too much on accident).

The performance is pretty decent, as it lasted me in between 4 to 6 hours, with a moderate trail that becomes more intimate after 2 or 3 hours. The value is pretty okay and the scent is quite feminine.

7.5/10. The scent is pleasant and the performance is good, but I wouldn't recommend it if you don't like roses nor peppery scents.

den1011

It's a very unique scent, and I like that in a perfume. It's not generic and I wouldn't blind buy. It's pretty strong and long lasting. It gives off this very elegant vibe. Fun yet classy. It really is a pepper-rose bomb. I don't ppickup on the patchouli too much, to be honest.
I'm not a fan of it though, because I find it overpowering, but I can tell it's a quality perfume.

Belle_Boutique_

I bought a 50ml of this as a blind buy. This is deliciously peppery and slightly earthy; Sophistication and elegance trapped in a bottle. Like the name Poivree suggests, it truly lives up to its name. This scent is like an autumn stroll. Truly unique.

It lasts approximately 10-12 hours on my shirt.

newnose24

Not going to lie, I was so disappointed when I first smelled this. I guess I was expecting different, it gave off the pencil shavings smell and I am usually into fresh scents. However, recently I revisited the scent and paired it with Zara’s Gourmand Addict…. babyyyyyy this is the perfect date night scent. Soft, sexy and sweet. I will using this combo more when it gets cooler and I’m anticipating the compliments.

Itgirl94

I tested this out while I was at Nordstrom, the pink pepper is quite strong. Can't speak about the longevity, but it definitely smells clean, fresh, and almost powdery? Not a huge fan. Definitely new to the fragrance world, so I suck at describing scents well. But this one was just too "meh" for me. I would say it's office friendly, but quite distinct to my nose so, not a safe blind buy perhaps.

Intrepid-Taste-1111

could do with more pepper if I’m honest. The opening is actually really lovely, the pink pepper gives the blousy roses and white florals some dimension and makes you want to bury your nose in it. But then it’s gone in a minute and the sillage is just the original Twilly, which is so disappointing. just not for me

2whit2quit

I purchased a full bottle Eau Poivrée soon after falling in love with a sample I very quickly used up. I've never smelled the orginal Twilly, so I can't compare. This has become one of my favorite fragrances to wear. The notes are few and simple. I get a powdery old makeup compact and pencil shavings. That's it, and I absolutely adore it! It has great longevity too! 8+ hours, although I tend to overspray this beauty.

update 10.26.21: I cannot get enough of this fragrance. OMG it's sooo intoxicating to my senses. Easily a top 3 for me. My mother hates it which makes it that much more interesting for me to wear, as if I'm trying to distinguish what she dislikes about it. I think it's utter perfection. I wear it just for me.

Papavero0

The note pyramid should really include Cedar

dglightblue

Expensive boutique pencil shavings.

Subtle and soft with great longevity. This isn’t a perfumey fragrance, its very understated.
Smooth, pencil wood without being woody, work safe i think.

maitton

Sweet flower bouquet with a bubble gum and creamy twist.

If you look for rose you might not quite get it, but if you open mind to smell a flower that you have never smelled before, it delivers quite a different feel. It is a unique kind of scent, quite polarising and not everyone's cup of tea.

flowers-in-the-springtime

Fabulous little cheapie. This is my first in the Twilly range. It opens with a strong smell of wood shavings but then it settles into a truly lovely, sweet and fresh rose. I don't get much pepper and the patch is barely noticeable to me. This perfume is fresh and juicy with a barely there 'green' vibe and a soft pretty rose. It is a complement getter and seems to last on my thin, dry, skin for hours. Verdict: I love this!

dglightblue

First off i get pencil shavings vibe, with a rounded woody rose patchouli, quite a soft scent, lasting power is excellent; sprayed once to wrist and dabbed in morning around 8am, its now 5pm and if i put my nose to skin i detect it, if you spray more liberally then i think it would be a bit louder, it sits close to skin.
In agent provocateur the dry down, the thick rounded rosey patchouli, this scent has that feel, but a.p. is waymore powdery and heavy than eau poivree. This scent is quieter and more warm.
Quite nice, ill give a better test run. Winter weather for me currently

hpbburd95

This one is really *chefs kiss* It's what you love from Twilly D'Hermes but with the pepper kicked up a notch and I love it! If you love spicy smells, you will love it! The rose does a good job rounding this out while the patchouli grounds both of the smells.

monicajeorg

my Best ! Just love it. If you like peppery and difrent this is for you! Noting syntetic and for sure no old woman fregrance, that i read in the comments below.
This one is for HOT, crazzy woman! Very long lasting, very cool and different from the flowery parfumes.

melxx2133

I love this. This is a very fresh spicy rose scent. Its a fresher more playful take on the original Twilly (which I also love) . It dries down to a creamy delicate rose scent . Idk what it is about Hermes but they sure know how to make scents that elegant and sophisticated. This doesn't smell screechy or synthetic .

Glenysnav

Spicy rose, I absolutely love it! Unique scent, never smelled anything like it. Love at first stiff. I can see a elegant youth women wearing it.

SSAP

I personally love this scent. The original was nothing special for me, but this version, on my skin, is a great designer fragrance that has a touch of niche to it. Starts off with a powdery rose with a touch of patchouli. The dry down becomes a soft powder with fresh cut roses. The peppery note is still there, but I really get fresh rose with powder rather than fizzy rose (which I also love). I have been wearing it everyday and am completely hooked. Absolutely everyday signature worthy for me and for work, if you want something that does not suffocate others, but still has a lingering unique rose scent. Sophisticated, period.

Carlitagp99

I cannot stand this at all, to me the spiciness overpowers the rose completely. I usually like spicy fragrances but I don't know what happened with this one that I simply cannot stand it. Not a good blid buy at all.

Imalia

This was one of my very first perfumes and until today, I still am in love with this. It is a very unique scent. A strong blend of spicy rose. It's as if the rose had grown redder and sprouted additional sharp thorns. Definitely for someone with a very determined attitude. Longevity and silage is a beast. One spray is more than enough for everyday. Lasts a very long time on clothes too. Highly recommend this.

twiztidladii

The Pink Pepper is very intense. I was not prepared for how strong it was going to be. This is, in no way, a safe blind buy. Definitely grab a sample or go test it at a counter, before thinking of purchasing.

missogi

Nice in the opening, but boring and soapy in the drydown.
Do try on your skin before buying.

Fouquet5%

I accidentially bought this thinking it was the original Twilly. I already have a bottle of this. Anyone want to trade? It is in box and is unused. I am open to anything of equal value that I don't already own.

cafuu

Sweet rose on my skin (male) and not much patchouli. Seems linear.

I imagine this would work well on a young, elegant woman

EnergeticCrab

Another reviewer said they thought this fragrance was mischievous and I agree. The rose is the center of Eau Poivree, with cold pepper and warm patchouli pulling in opposite directions. It then settles down into floral powder. I don't think this scent is particularly groundbreaking, but I appreciate the simple elegance of it being both young and mature at the same time. A nice staple for someone, I am sure, but not me.

brokesta911

Hermes Twilly Eau Poivree (2019) - peppery youth - @christine.nagel creates a beautiful and very focused Rose, Pink Pepper and Patchouli accord. Of course, it’s not as simple as that as it retains some essence of the original: I get some fruity aspects from Citrus and the pink pepper with creamy gourmand aspects of Vanilla & Sandalwood. Bright and Uplifting.

G's Fragcollection

Perfect for a sunny day. Gorgeous powdery patchouli-rose fragrance not sure if I get the spicy kick from the pink pepper in the opening. After a few minutes, I get a really aromatic and spicy gin I guess from the pink pepper. Elegant, feminine, with a little mischievous streak. Has a good projection and performance, Smell it days after doing my laundry on my clothes.

Tiwalii

This is supposed to be a rosy and peppery flanker to the original Twilly, but it actually smells like a Mugler Alien flanker to my nose. More precisely Alien Fusion.

It really has that typical Mugler jasmine smell, combined with a vague green fruitiness and something that reminds me of softly mentholated black currant jam. There might be something slightly rosy in the background, something that makes the jasmine come across as softly blushing. But that’s it. Just a shy rosy blush, not a distinct smell of rose.

I like this scent. It’s really nice even though it doesn’t smell like any of the notes mentioned. 😊✨

thescented_mrs

As soon as I sprayed this on me it immediately reminded me of my late Grandma and her warm hugs!

On to the fragrance itself.. the pink pepper in the opening is very prominent & kinda in your face and then this very vintage, mature smelling rose scent comes through which unfortunately is just so not my cup of tea. I have to admit though this is quite an elegant fragrance and I would keep just a tester with me for nostalgic purposes but wouldn't purchase a full bottle for myself. My Husband too just did not care for it when I was testing it out.

Longevity - 4-5hrs
Projection - Pretty good
Sillage - Moderate

Vegas Pauli

Smells like a rose scented hand cream my mom used in the 70s. Because of this I find this old fashioned and kind of dated. It's Hermes so the quality is there and it smells quite pretty, there is just zero sex appeal to this, which might be fine for some folks. Not overly original, but as a pretty vintage rose scent, it gets the job done nicely.

Keemun

There's something about this I really like. It's fairly masculine for a floral. I don't get the powder that others are. On me, its rose(ish) and pepper in a pleasant way.

CurrencyThat

Needs to be tested on skin. On paper, I get a gingered tarty rose. On my skin, I get a patchouli'd rose. The pepper isn't prominent on my skin which is actually a bonus. In fact, I would have never guessed it contained pink pepper until its dry down. It's a bit sharp and perfumey at first then becomes soft & powdery when it dries down.

colorfulmess

At first I thought this was way, way too powdery and something I could never wear, but then on about the fourth day of trying this out - when I worked up a sweat in the garden - this suddenly became a gorgeously woody, green, peppery rose with all the facets on display. It can catch a botanical facet that wasn't there before, and made the powder much less oppressive. I like this much better than the original Twilly, which to me was like a bathroom cleaner, but I have to say this version is making me want to try the original again to give it a chance and sit with it for a while.

Manya3

Oh hello there, Si Lolita by Lolita Lempicka! They even both have a little scarf!

I blind-tested this on my wrist from a sample vial, and now looking at the notes here can tell you I was positive there's so much more than just three simple things!
It opens with a sharp, nose-tickling pepper and coriander. Then I got sweet pea, heliotrope, elemi resin and a dry clean patchouli (almost suede-like) - this is where I went hello! I know this, it's Si Lolita - now I see they are both by Christine Nagel, so no wonder.
But then Twilly eau poivrée becomes rosier, more vanilla and softer, with a dustier patchouli (I don't like patchouli but here it is so light and we'll balanced that even I find it beautiful).

If you already have Si Lolita or if you prefer a bubblier, more fun version I wouldn't bother with this tamer and more expensive version. However, it is enticing and calming and pretty, so it might be your jam. Do test on skin if you're no fan of patchouli though - this is the "pencil shavings"-like note that have been mentioned.
ETA: in hot weather it smells like roasted bell peppers on my skin! Weird and not at all what I'd like to smell like... It's a dislike after all :/

diamond74

I blind bought this at Marshall’s, since I own and love the original Twilly. To me it smells nice, and expensive; but it smells powdery and like pencil shavings. I’ll just stick with the original for now.
Note: It was a 1.7 oz. for $59.99

RocíoB

I don't get all the good reviews. I know taste is subjective, but this fragrance to me smells very powdery and very much like what an old lady would wear. Definitely not up my alley. However, if you like the scent, the good thing is it has great performance.

Anitatexas

This is my new addition. After trying a lot of perfumes to add a new one to my collection, i decided to purchase twilly poivree. I tested this baby two days ago in my skin at sephora in my left arm, and my sweater still smells divine from the first application. I agree with some of the reviews. This one smells divine and in the same family/style than one of my favorites Alien. Freshly applied twilly smells like the dry down of Alien, exactly the same, a little bit more powderly and less sharp than alien. Longevity is excellent too, I can smell a little bit tiny bit of play-dooh as other user mentioned. Love the pretty bottle too.
Well done Hermes!
Edit: im obsessed with my new hermes twilly poivree, i spray at night too, love the smell. One of my favorites perfumes already.

sejohnson77

smells like baby powder.. I just arrived to the office and already a coworker is telling me this, and he's not wrong. lol

carlahoffman

Red hot like a red hot cinnamon candy which is also sweet and can be yummy if they are your taste. I like different and dare I say this fit's the bill. This is not your normal floral or fruity scented perfume. It is bold and darling where the Pink Pepper domains for quite a while.

As the Pink Pepper starts to fade some the rose shines through which is my fav scent. It is very pretty, alluring to your senses with a lovely powdery dry down with the other two scent lurking in the background for a sweet ending.

This is a very long lasting scent with a great sillage so I would advice to spray sparingly to build up to your desire scent. Not a office scent, more of a night on the town scent, for it is strong fun and daring. What a great blind buy for me.

Twilly d" Hermes EAU Poivre'e will go to bed with you and be there in the morning !!!

Twilly eau poivrée = Powdery earthy spicy ROSE

It has Hermes's signature touch, it smells expensive and niche, not crowd pleasing or sweet

Twilly eau poivrée is delicate and charming
It leaves a delicious airy powdery smell, my kids love it so much and my daughter compliments me everytime she hugs me "Mmmm mummy you smell so good"

Unlike all my perfumes (i usually spray my clothes), i prefer spraying my skin directly, Twilly eau poivrée transforms to a very pleasant baby powder smell that i enjoy so much and calms me down, the patchouli disappears instantly

I picture Marie Antoinette wearing Twilly eau poivrée
It's sophisticated delicate feminine

Aikipy

Very spicy, lovely perfume! Dries down into a less spicy, more powdery scent, but powdery towards peppery, not a cosmetic or flowery power. My husband says it smells like vintage wood and I have to agree with him, even though I see no wood notes in here. Top five for me, but not a safe blind buy.

countrynoodle

I loved it at first spray. Super fresh, spicy, and a touch powdery. It seemed elegant and slightly dated but still with a youthful twist that made it bubbly and fizzy. There was a peppery green-ness at the beginning that I really enjoyed and it slowly dried down to a powdery floral. Its HEAVY and strong and one or two sprays really goes a long way. But unfortunately, on me this is very headache inducing. Might be the heavy floral rose usually doesn't agree with me.

CdeBXL

Upon first spray one gets quite a blast of pepper and jenever berries and dried mini peppers.
As it is setting, more earthy tones appear, as well as spicy rose (yes, still spicy), creamy patch, even a bit of lime zest.
Actually, this reminds me of a spice-pimped gin.

The drydown is not unpleasant and I will finish this bottle, but in small doses.
Would I buy it again? Not sure.

Finally, I think I would actually like it more on a man. It softly refers -in a less sophisticated way- to Creed Viking, minus the mint.
I will try it on my son and might report back.

Kokomocha

If you could capture and jar Autumn, Eau Poivree is it. The first spray will make you think it will smell masculine. It's very spicy. But as it immediately begins to dry down, the earthly notes become dominant, with faint hints of rose. It is a familiar fragrance with a unique twist that makes it stand out on its own. It smells like finding a bouquet of roses under a crisp pile of freshly fallen autumn leaves. I'd definitely buy it again. I must add though, it is a very mature fragrance. When I was 20-30 I would have considered it an "old lady" perfume. Now at 40, I can appreciate some of the more mature scents.

kiraagold

Eau Poivrée is such the perfect fresh-ground peppercorn that I get anxiety waiting for the sneeze that never happens.

Before the first spray even lands on my skin, I’m frantically taking a deep breath, holding it, waiting for my eyes to water, getting slightly melancholy that no one is around to say “Bless you!”–and I stay that way for two hours.

The delicate rose and sheer patchouli eventually temper the spice, but by that time I’ve already taken an allergy pill and called my therapist twice.

gabri

It's delightful, uplifting as most peppery fragrances, totally charming. :o)

car0

Stay away if you cannot stand spicy top notes. Even if it isn't listed I get a sense of ginger-y-ness in this fragrance alongside the pink pepper, so it definetly comes out spicy. Once these two calm down, the rose and creamy white florals start to show up, making it less loud. The patchouli definetly makes it perform incredibly well, it is very long lasting even if not with a potent projection, but with this type of scent it's bettter that it isn't. I feel like it being more soft and not leaving a giant trail is part of its charm, it's an everyday scent but still classy and pretty. Even though not in the notes, I feel like it still has most of the original Twilly DNA. Not the most incredible fragrance ever, but Christine Nagel did an amazing job "rebooting" seemingly "old-smelling" notes into more modern, more likeable fragrances like the originall Twilly and this one.

Adri69

I really miss some fruity note. I think it would be perfect with some raspberry or blackberry added to it.

mikecch

Here is a Twilly d'Hermès Eau Poivrée review by a man, as I test samples for Xmas gifting.

The polite and sparkling open is green, fruity and mildly peppery.
The pink peppercorn presents multiple facets, but is not an aggressive spice like how it might be used in masculine scents like Creed's Viking.

The fruit note connects to florals - pink flowers, a full but ill defined image of rose. The heart is soft, slightly powdery, rounded and feminine.

This is a very girly and gentle rose, as opposed to a masculine presentation such as the new Gucci Guilty pour homme EdP I was testing the same day - same flower, a world of difference.

The dry-down on my skin consist of ever-fading flowers, amber/ambroxan and a partial aspect of patchouli - green & woody, without much earth.

This is not an attention-seeking or sensual scent. This version of Twilly remains a polite & approachable day-time scent for younger ladies.

This is a smell I wouldn't mind coming across in public spaces: pleasant, feminine, but not particularly memorable.

SailorV

This notes list is so misleading. Don't expect Twilly Eau Poivrée to smell just like rose, patchouli and pink pepper. There is a lot of stuff from the original Twilly inside, too. Honestly, I tested Twilly back when it was new and didn't found it that remarkable or memorable, so I don't feel able to draw an in-depth comparison of these two. But what I can say is that this still has the uplifting fizzy ginger and the white floral creaminess of the original. I especially get a beautiful fresh orange blossom and a warm milky background hum, maybe a pinch vanilla and sandalwood. I don't get a lot of patch from this, but the additional rose makes the fragrance more lively, it's really noticeable in the opening. But the most prominent note of all is pink pepper, fitting to the name. It's the spicy twist Twilly needed and stays put all through the drydown, even though it's the strongest in the opening.

I like this a lot and I appreciate the idea of a peppery/spicy flanker, more brands could do that. Not a must-have for me, but pretty and better than the original, at least to me.

soumayaela

Wow 10/10 for performance and lasting power 👏👏👏👏

This is a flowery powdery sophisticated cosy strong perfume! what a discovery! It screams classy chic confident women

The pink pepper gives it a little fresh note it was needed to freshen up the combination of rose and patchouli

What i like the most about this perfume: it's not like any other perfume released in the market lately, there is no pear or peach in it, no vanilla or jasmin or orange blossom
I feel like all the perfumes released latey on the market smell alike or have similarities (sweet fruity crowed pleasing easy to wear) BUT THIS IS SOOOOO DIFFERENT 😍

Let's talk about the lasting power:
amazing it lasted all day on my skin and clothes and smelled it in my room when i came back at night. This is what i expect from a perfume!

I bought so many perfumes lately, i have the original twilly also, but this one is my favorite so far
Well done Hermes

Edit:
I wore this the other day, it was noticed and complimented and was asked many times what perfume i wore in just one day! It doesn't happened often

Astara_Elaria

This is exquisite, lively, elegant and youthful at the same time.
For some reason, I think it would suit a beautiful, quick-witted redheaded woman (think "Amy Pond" for example). It's youthful, but not childish or girly. The top notes in particular unfold in an energetic sparkle (pink pepper often gives me this feeling). I also smell something fruity, for example a fresh note of melon - the type of melon that matches the color of the bottle! Sometimes, especially when I smell close to my skin, I get a minty cherry note - maybe the rosy notes mixed with patchouli give this impression.
This variation of Twilly shows its best scent in the sillage: In the heart notes, in the right climate and with the right skin chemistry, you will be surrounded by a soft, sensual cloud of many red, pink and purple flowers. Most of them are roses, but I can also sense the idea of a purple orchid and a well-made tuberose. The whole sensation is really exquisite and graceful.
The problem with me are the base notes - I don't smell patchouli at this point, but clearly some kind of synthetic wood with no depth. But that's my problem - I know only a few fragrances that bloom to the end on my cold, dry skin, especially in the cold season. For me, it's better in warmer climates or in spring or summer. But I like the feel of the top and middle notes so much that I tend to spray again ... and then it blooms vibrant and rosy from the start. Really something good to increase the energy on gray days.

I had such a long time to have an wow reaction. I don't know what's happening in your countries but that joke with 'corona' must end and it's up to us. Time to wake up and go back to our favorite and 'healthy' addiction, perfumes.

So, I have seen many times pink pepper being introduced in perfumes. The last good one I would say it rocks the same way is Signorina EDP by S.Ferragamo, but Eau Poivree, it's just amazing! It may give sometimes a powdery vibe of these classic wet tissues but you just can't go wrong. This perfume is not only unique but a signature too with vintage touches.

The opening is pure pink pepper in a way you feel like, should I stop inhaling or soon I'll have a sneezing and everybody will tell God bless you? Well, that didn't happen because earthy patchouli balances the spicy rush and a rose comforts the composition. I am not getting crazy when smelling it up close but when I get whispers of it, I really wanna hug the person and relax in his/her arms. Yes, I am thinking seriously of buying it for my mother although she is a fun of citrus/woody perfumes. Soft spicy, classy, fresh, young & mature at the same time, long lasting with signature characteristics, what else do you need?

mapache

Vibrant pink pepper opening. I get a "gingery" vibe as well. Floral/spice/woody...a tad musky,IMO.

My first thought on the opening...was Givenchy Ange Noir ...but simmered down. Then as it develops on the skin, that part leaves....???
Less "flowery" than the original.
The dry down goes classic/retro on me.

A big like !!!

SarahTheBoss

This smells expensive. Classy, understated, and it doesn't really care what you think about it! Total Hermes in a nutshell.

The pepper is definitely there but it isn't off-putting in the least. For the first 4 hours I get lovely wafts but then it dies down to a subtle skin scent. Fairly linear but pretty and even a bit different than other recent designer releases. I've never tried the original Twilly and maybe thats why I love this one. Perfect work scent.

basma gamal

Fresh Light Fragrance for Autumn and maybe Summer .

It starts with a sharp earthy Peppery Smell (Pepper+Patchouli). Then, It tones down into a creamy, Soft-spicy floral scent.

It has the same DNA as the original Twilly may because both ginger and pepper give the same spiciness effect.

In General, It is a youthful fresh spicy appealing fragrance for any age group. There is nothing offensive nor special about it. It lasts for a quite long time and has a moderate range sillage.

It isn't the exact dupe for Givenchy Play but sure they both share the same vibes.

celia46

I have only a first impresión, but I can say that it's a good one.

To me the opening has powdery notes but with youthful vibe. The dry down seems exactly the same to the original, wich its a good thing.

Jacquis

Twilly Eau Poivree is very similar to the original Twilly with its gorgeous gummy tuberose feel. The only notable difference is a touch of rose.

mdluli

I have been wearing this for the past few days, it is very elegant and charming. It reminds me of chanel perfumes (the pink pepper, patchouli and rose) are main notes of chanel perfumes during Jacques Polge era. This one smells Morden girl like Serena van der Woodsen from gossip girl. Both young and the old can pull this off.

Coquita

I'm surprised that this is a flanker of Twilly because they smell nothing alike. TEP honors its name as it opens with a HUGE blast of pink pepper, which tames down to a very clean rose-patchouli scent that stays quite linear for the 6 hours of lasting power. I, however, prefer my rose-patchoulis with a bit more oomph. I'd say it's suitable for daytime year-round (maybe not on hot summers).

2nd review now that I've had this for 6 months: This was a love at first sniff for me (rare!) and after six months of wear in both cool and warm weather, it remains a big big love. It's always mysterious when big loves get such "meh" overall reviews! Maybe the youthful marketing missed the mark? I'm 43 and my wheelhouse is the Chanel and Hermes classics. The heavy dose of pink pepper and the rose-patchouli combo identify this one as of the modern era, but I find the *style* of it to be so classically chic and well, French. I can't get enough of this beauty, and my husband (age 51) absolutely adores it on me too!

Alex Fragrantomaniac

Twilly d'Hermès Eau Poivrée is, above all, a lesson of masterfully blending by the talented Christine Nagel - the hefty dose of peppercorn doesn't feel screechy at all and this is an admirable feat. This peppery accord is followed by a synthetic rose and a woody base that create continuity, by
gradually decreasing the spiciness - similarly to Xeryus Rouge, minus the oriental facet. However, I think that with this flanker the 'Twilly' line has lost its youthful identity: compared to the cheerful, hip, young, troublesome and genius in its own right original Twilly, this disgustingly creates the opposite effect of desperately trying to look older and maturer than one really is. I don't deem fragrances as 'smelling old' but this smells fraudulently so.

If slightly impressed by this, do also try Montblanc's Présence d'une femme or Perles de Lalique - as they feel more righteously 'grown up'.

ION

Twilly is a charming, naughty and teasing perfume. Its aura is modern with a vintage afterglow.
One of the very few Hermes perfumes that I like, it has a multifacet character and the vibrancy of youth.
It actually reminds me of a face with freckles and I can easily imagine it with a different name; "Pippi"* instead of "Twilly". ☺️

One of the best on the market at the moment..

* "Pippi" from Pippi Longstocking (you should google it 😁).

smath778

This is lovely, it really is. It's bright and cheerful and it reminds me of the original YSL Paris I used to wear in the 90's. My problem with it is that it smells like perfume. Now I know you're rolling your eyes thinking "Duh, what do you expect. It IS perfume." But my thing is this, I like my perfume to smell like something, to invoke a mood or a feeling. I like people to smell me and think "Oooh chocolate" or "Wow, super fresh" or even just plain "Delicious". What I don't want is "Lovely PERFUME."

KatieKeene

I love all of these notes (and especially pink pepper) and LOVE the original Twilly, so I got a sample of this to see how I felt before buying a full bottle. Glad I did. It's nice, but after reading reviews I was really expecting more pepper. It's an explosion at first but dies down almost immediately on me, so it's just a nice rose perfume. That's fine, but for the price it's a bit too generic for me. I would happily receive this as a gift or maybe buy it on sale, but I'll stick with original Twilly I think!

angelcode

A friend of mine said that I should try Twilly eau poivrée and of course I blind bought it cause this is what I do lately...Let me tell you that I am obsessed! From the first 5 minutes you can say that it is definitely Hermès.It surely has that high quality vibe of the brand but I was a little bit disappointed cause I think that many of their perfumes are for more mature ages.My mum used to wear Hermès for years. But, in a few minutes I said OMG!Even my 6 year old daughter said that it is the most wonderful thing she has ever smelt!LOL!!!The peppery note is very pleasant; just gives an edgy twist to the whole formula and together with the flowers (and I say flowers, cause I don't smell only roses but a beautiful bouquet of different flowers) it is amazing! Now I can tell you about the best part, the dry down...It is warm, sweet (yes sweet),deep, alluring, almost sexy but at the same time "comme il faut"!When my husband commented that I smell so beautiful I knew that I have my new signature! Also great longevity and projection!

billbomp

There's a scene in 'Alice In Wonderland',(the novel), where a cook continually adds pepper to a soup that is already half pepper.

I think you know what I'm getting at.

This is all about the pepper. There's some rose thrown in there, and some very scrubbed up, innocent patchouli.

It smells like some knocked a bottle of pepper into a random rose perfume by accident, and just ran with it.

That is to say, this perfume is rather bonkers, in a quaint, childlike way, and I love it.

andreea.damian.98

It smells very elegant and my boyfriend loves it, but most of all this perfume last forever. I was spraying myself behind the ears 3 days ago from now and I still feel the aroma around me, even if it was supposed to get used with it and ignore it till now or wash it out during shower (didn’t wash my hair though). For my boyfriend the strength of the perfume is even more obvious.
When I tested Twilly Eau Poivree on my wrist for the first time, I observed that my dressing room continue to smell like this for days, because I had in there the coat that I was wearing in that day, but I didn’t imagine that it will last like this even on my skin.

Amascent

Better than the original Twilly rendition. So different in fact it's not really a flanker, more so something else entirely. More feminine than the original, yet missing some notes for me. This is a little simplistic and linear.

Lady Nightshadow

Twilly Poivrée is a sweet flowery scent, with remarkable longevity and good sillage.

The opening goes with a lot of pink pepper, so if you don't like this spicy note, this can be deceptive at first.
It however lasts for just a couple of minutes and I highly suggest to wait before putting it in the dislikes list.

If you can get over the pepper, the frangrance becomes a lot floral and sweet - it doesn't evolve anymore, at this point it's a really linear and simple fragrance, but powerful.

The note that remains for the following hours reminds me of some really scented cut flowers, when they begin to wilt, and the aroma gets deeper and more sweet.
Or, if you prefer, I get the frangrance of some powerful and really concentrated mimosa.
It's probably the conjunction of roses with patchouli that gives me this feeling.

Overall, it's a really beautiful perfume, perfect for the first six months of the year, with a great performance.

Victoria Regia

ViouAmara's review is spot on!

Bubbles1964

There’s a harsh chemical smell in the opening. I would’ve said my sample was bad but the bottle i decanted from was freshly opened. I don’t get rose. And I don’t pick up the ginger note that was the hallmark of the original Twilly.

I consider this a misstep from Christine Nagel. I wonder if there was pressure placed on her after the success of the original? Twilly d'Hermès Eau Poivrée is not pleasant, and it’s not wearable (on me).

Nikkafragrance

As someone mentioned below a true Hermes fragrance. I fell in love from the first spray and now this is my number 1 rose - elegant, romantic and feminine and I am not even a fan of pink pepper! Usually when I spot pink pepper as a main note, I am like: "Yeah, now I figured out why I can't wear this". I was so surprised when I saw only three notes, but obviously they're in the perfect mixture and perfectly balanced. It reminds me of some previous fragrance, I can't tell which one tho. Silage is really potent and longevity is about 3-4 days on fabrics. Definitely a must try for rose lovers. I see how someone are disappointed since indeed, this flanker has nothing to do with the original, however it's truly beautiful on its own and I'm sure it'll get many fans.

My new rose! This was unadulterated love at first sniff of the nozzle. First, I have an extensive list of patchouli-rose combinations that I do NOT like, but something about this one just works. You know it's right when you can't even really find words to describe the fragrance - this one appeals to me on an emotional level. It has some warmth but also clarity. I see this described as spicy but that is not my experience of it (I have a high tolerance for spicy so perhaps that it why this doesn't register as dominantly spicy). The rose floats about in a pretty floral way but joins up with the patchouli and some musk (?) to make it a bit more carnal. I can see loving this one for a very long time.

ViouAmara

Bitter spicy pink pepper, hot and natural, morphing slowly in an kind of modern ambroxan smoothness. The transition is perfect. The floral side is floating around, a little muted.
Fragrance made of an intimate crack and a rebuilding.
Not so easy to wear but well done and emotional.

chanotchka

I got it as a sample and it's clean in the opening, spicy and fresh, a little soapy.
I sprayed it on at 8 am today, it's almost 7 pm and I can still smell it, I just thought that the drydown reminded me of another perfume...
It's CH Good Girl..I don't know why, they don't smell alike in general.

anotherobsessioon

I had really been looking forward to trying this. When I sprayed it on a card, in store, I really liked it. I am glad I got a sample to take home. I nearly blind bought this because I have so many Hermes I like (Rouge being a favorite). BUT, the brand is not the same since Nagel replaced Elllena. Everything seems loaded with ambroxen, to which I seem to have a very bad chemical reaction. Thanks to that ridiculous single note urperfume made by Julliet has a Gun, I was able to identify the ingredient which was responsible for near every perfume I hate, and this is one. As it turns out, no surprise, this is one of Nagel's.
When I first sprayed it I thought it was nice, though my husband described it as very masculine. I can not describe the notes because within seconds it went sour, and the language I would use to describe it would be highly inappropriate. I immediately tried to wash it off. My husband suggested I get back in the shower, that bad.

If you like "not a perfume" you will love this. Loaded with cheap synthetics. If, however, you are one who has experienced chemical sensitivity, this is probably one to avoid.

AnitaHendricks

Some spice, roses and something herbal. This is a nice perfume but I'm not blown away. I prefer the original!

black_orchid

Unlike many reviews I like it a lot. It starts heavy pink pepper and goes light woody rosy base which is very cool, comfortable and airy.

mutintabailey

I really love this perfume, completely different to the original Twilly.
It's strong, warm and spicy, but in a pretty floral way.
I feel that it's sophisticated the same as the original Twilly. And very much something that is perfect for the winter and fall period.
It has got warmth and clarity the pink pepper most certainly most dominant. This is what you need for the cooler months. And it really radiates around you.
It's definitely a warm jumper scent and you can't compare the original to the Eau poivree, I feel they are so different both very dominant warm scents.
This one is not so complex as the original but I would most definitely say completely different.

LadyIva

Erm, no. This version of Twilly is not pleasant at all. First of all, it is very different from the pillar Twilly, that shrill yet cool gingery tuberose. This new version Twilly d'Hermès Eau Poivrée Eau de Parfum Hermès for women or TDHEPEDPHFW has a very weird and harsh opening, with so much pepper that it made me sneeze! Then, as it develops, it turns into a powdery rose-patchouli. The scent is kind of mature and even stinky, and totally incompatible with the cute bottle.

pommegom

I really wanted to like this, hoped it will be a spicy, fresh, peppery scent with sexy patchouli like Kate Moss Kate EDT, but this is just a powdery, old lady perfume with a very cheap liquid soap smell. Faint and weak. Don't like it at all :(

Nancy83

A spicy floral, the comparison with the original stop there. They smell and feel nothing like each other. As much as I love the original Twilly, a creamy gingy tuberose, I feel I'm not the targeted group for its flanker Eau Poivrée, a peppery soapy rose. It's centered around everything I generally don't like in a perfume: patchouli and pepper. It's tolerable, the rose smells nice, the patchouli is not too repulsive, but it's not something I would often reach for. It's too spicy for me and the dry down musk smells sometimes like hydrogen peroxide on me (just like with Un Jardin Sur La Lagune, it could be skin chemistry, I don't know).

I have skin allergies with the original Twilly, the only reason why I didn't put it on my want list, Eau Poivrée makes me sneeze, but not to the point of being a deal breaker if I would have love it. I've been careful to not spray too much, one good spray is enough for me. The sillage starts moderate heavy, it gets stronger after, then around 1 hour this is when the hydrogen peroxide smell peaks from time to time, the perfume gets soapier and softer. Around 4-5 hours, it's closer to skin and I can catch sniffs of it for the rest of the day. It's not unwearable, just not my style. I will retest it, see if I should keep the sample I got, but I have no plan on buying it. I suggest to try it before buying it, I don't think it's an easy blind buy.

Nooshin (Atghia)

Twilly was an disappointed fragrance IMO. But it seems Eau Poivrée has better show! Two big replacement & great result! Rose instead of Tuberose & Pink pepper instead of Ginger. Simple musky peppery rose with patchouli. Ok now I like it.

Zizonia

To me, it is quite similar to Poivre Piquant LAP, nothing new..

emilianods75

A summer version of the previous Twilly. Lovely, femenine, chic and happy. I love wearing it at the office.

lmwimsatt

Gross. This smells so bad. It smells just enough like the original to make me long for it. I didnt even care too much for the original but it definitely didnt smell bad in any way

GabrielleElle

I love this fragrance. I wasn't impressed by the original one, but this one is perfect. I like pink pepper on my skin. This scent is very longlasting. The beginning is spicy and after few minutes i can smell roses and a bit of soap and powder.

Elisabeth M.

A real Hermes fragrance. Imagine the atmosphere of a classic Parisian apartment Rue d'Eylau, 16 arrondissement near Trocadero. The dry smell of pencil shavings, mature rose, leather (although not mentioned here) and pink pepper in the beginning, gives this Twilly a slightly youthful vibe. Not vintage. Just timeless. This is French perfumery in perfection!

jellybeantree

I love this fragrance . Spicy at the beginning then it’s gets more rosy and powdery and woody ! Long lasting ! I am hypnotised . Thank you Hermes .

Papavero0

Hm... " pencil shavings and the inside of an old makeup bag", you say? One man's trash is another man's treasure! Call me intrigued!

gtabasso

I love this, but it isn't reading as rose on me with first wearing. I smell a sourness of citrus, lots of powder, floral and pepper but more like pimento than the sneezing, nose-tickling peppercorns. With all this powder, there must be some iris. A hint of musk. No patchouli that I detect. I tried this on an 85 F day with humidity. I am glad I did a blind buy based on my love for the original Twilly. This is unique and different from its namesake. Not a flanker. A different scent altogether.

jellybeantree

I love this one ! Spicy rose modern and woody !

stephaniearianne

Lovely fragrance with delightful leathery afterglow of which I'm embarrassed to admit that if it weren't for the silly bottle I would certainly buy it!

DT953

While totally different to the original, starring rose & pink pepper rather than ginger and tuberose... I really like it? It hasn't got that rich sandalwood base, nor that weird gingery aspect that I slowly grew to love but instead has this cool spiciness surrounded by a richly luxurious rose melange. Feels like the Coco Mademoiselle to Coco originale. This ain't a bad thing. (Not that we're comparing Coco to Twilly haha)

masako_30

Twilly Eau Poivrée is adorned with roses which have been denied the natural life cycle, cut and placed in the shade to dry, now they radiate their keen, mature, dry scent, and their now eternal beauty.
Very comfortable this Hermès' perfume, unexpectedly desired and awaited, I realize; a wise mixture of simple notes which enhance each other, that for my tastes is peppery to perfection.
Exquisite that kind of colored crayons and pencil scent, which softens gently little by little.
'Eau Poivrée' suggests me not to fear the first cold, although the hot season is coming to an end.

ANNAFRYS

Believe or not I adore the orgin scent! Yesterday I was visiting Inno gallery on ave Louisa in Brussel and I have noticed new bottle from Hermes!!! I have jumped to the shelf like creazy!!! New bottle! New fragrance !!!! Yayyy
You have to know I owe 3 bottles already of origin Twilly from 2017!! I got it from a day of premiere and I still adore it!!! So even more I was soooo excited!!!! I took a deep breath and I have sprayed!!! When I sprayed I cried! I cried because it have made me so unhappy and Dissapointed.

As much I am in love with origin I hate the new one. Inlove Hermes brand and their scents and hand soaps, jewerly ... but I just cant understang that mistake!

I am sad after that experience. I am happy Twilly no 1 is still in the stores Inlove my ginger soapy vibe from origin more. This one is a big NO from me.

hedward

Twilly Eau Poivree made me curse out loud. Why? Because my wallet isn't thick enough to support this hobby. I visited my local department store to alleviate my Galop craves (and mentally arrange my finances so that I'll one day buy one), but stumbled upon this peppery wonder. Eau Poivree is unmistakably of the same mold as the original but toned down in the bright soapy tuberose and substituted with loads of earthy pepper and a hint of rose. The base is the same radiant and creamy sandalwood. Despite the big variation in notes, both editions share the same personality - joyous, free and optimistic. I love it but, as usual, the original still reigns supreme. Eau Poivree is quite masculine for a contemporary women's release and Hermes should've branded this as Twilly Au Masculin. No matter, let it be a secret for clever guys.

raiza1990

Pleasant fragrance. The name is a bit misleading, because it’s not really spicy, just a little bit at the opening and then it turns into a radiant and slightly sweet rose.
I like it. it’s young and elegant, not the usual fruity floral.
I like the original Twilly more, but this one is great too. But bear in mind that they’re not similar.
Sillage is soft, longevity is long.
Final note: 9/10

Missblue

This one smells very similar to something I cannot put a name on. Maybe something from the guys side? It has a Zara perfume vibe all over it. The initial blast is extremely peppery followed by geranium, as another reviewer mentioned. The rose makes a timid appearence when things settle, but it is not a romantic rose, more like a wild, green one, crushed with other herbs. However, the overall smell is still geranium, flowers and leaves. The late drydown smells like garden soil in november to me.

InTwilly Poivree everything screams its lungs out, especially the pink pepper and I cannot imagine young adults (as marketed) would go for this fragrance. It would have benefitted a unisex campaign, knowing the guys are reluctant to try perfumes marketed for girls with ribbon adorned bottles.

mrsg34

Complete let down from hermes, generic, cheap smelling scent that I found quite nauseating to wear.Had to wash off, a far cry from some of hermes master piece fragrances

cranky137

The new Twilly is a fragrance on its own. It shares the same bottle as original Twilly (adorable, btw!), only a different ribbon, but mostly sharing only a character of original Twilly. Definitely Twilly DNA.

Twilly Poivree is peppery, it is for strong women who know what they want, perfect as a crisp White shirt. The patchouli is bitter but not medicinal and the roses Accord are just the concept of a rose-pink scent, not the actual flower.

I absolutely need this in my collection! However, I will wait until the Christmas gift Collection to get some body lotion together with it.

If you like original Twilly, you need to try it. If you don't like Twilly, get a sample of this as you might like it.

gabri

If it's peppery I need to try it :o)

labradorite

The combination of fresh, aromatic patchouli and pink pepper gives quite a character to this Twilly in the opening. There’s roses too, but the perfume smells more like an entire rose bush with it’s green stalks and leaves rather than the flowers only. It tames down after an hour or two, turns a bit sweeter, but there’s still an edge to it that stays until the very end. It reminds of Mad Madame by Juliette Has A Gun - Eau Poivrée is a more wearable version of that.

zoka

This one is overdose of pink pepper and later for me smells like geranium. It doesn’t live up to first original Twilly. I don’t even find them very related usually flanker in name and packaging gas some common theme. This is radically new fragrance.
