I had some time to kill after a business lunch last week, so I wandered into the Hermes store in Pacific Place Mall, Jakarta, afterward.

I own Terre d'Hermes. This and Eau Givree were the two that stood out to me from the current lineup. Some reviews have mentioned this is discontinued so maybe it's a regional thing? It's available to buy in Indonesia as of this comment.

The above "reminds me of" comparison to Declaration is straight up bonkers imo. Yes I know it's the same perfumer but this is SO much cleaner and, overall, much lighter than the Cartier. Instead, the first fragrance comparison that came into my head was actually Bvlgari Pour Homme. This is like an airier, slightly more unisex, and slightly more classier/elegant version of that.

I know this will sound potentially unappetizing to some, but this really does put me in the mind of sipping on a tea-infused gin and tonic on ice at an air-conditioned luxury Jakarta bar right after walking in from the sweltering tropical humidity. I also detect a small hint of clove (a note I really enjoy) even though it's not listed (I'm betting it's the cardamon mixing with the other spices giving off a clove-like scent, or potentially there is actually clove included as one of the spices in the general "spices" listed note), that puts me in mind of the clove kretek cigarettes locals smoke here in Indonesia, which all in all is strangely comforting to me as an expat in this part of the world.

This is definitely unisex, and there's nothing wrong with that (I enjoy Cartier L'envol EDT, which is unisex); however, for my own personal tastes, I do wish it strayed a bit more towards the more traditionally masculine side of unisex.

I decided not to pick this up instore but I may be tempted to buy this eventually to use as my next "for Bali" fragrance.

As an aside, I also really enjoyed the more "robust" experience of the Voyage Parfum. The EDP is denser and punchier. In all honesty, I'd most likely go for that one over the EDT if I wasn't living in a part of the world where it's as hot as Satan's ballsack all year round...

bonvivantblonde

I adore the feeling of being enveloped in a warm hug by a fragrance, and this one certainly delivers. Initially received as a gift, I've found myself consistently drawn to it during sales. As a gourmand perfume enthusiast, I appreciate the subtle infusion of warm spices and cedar tones in this fragrance, creating a lighter blend compared to other woodsy perfumes.

What sets this scent apart for me is its refreshing and airy composition, making it a perfect choice for daytime wear. The balance of elements in this perfume allows for a delightful and subtle experience throughout the day.

It exudes an understated elegance that not only enhances your mood but also encourages a sense of focus and productivity. This fragrance has become my go-to for days when I want to feel poised and motivated, ready to tackle whatever comes my way.

Astraia

This is - and has been for the past 11 years - my favorite perfume. I always have a backup bottle. Voyage works with any season, any occasion. No matter how you present yourself, this is a perfume that will make you feel distinctively you. It stays close to the skin. It never dominates a room. Yet, it has a clear characteristic that others will pick up on. Even though it has clear notes, it's almost reminiscent of molecular perfumes. It smells like you but better and blends with your body scent effortlessly. Also, the bottle is so stunningly and cleverly designed. It's like unlocking a secret every time I open it.

Stef_2310

So unique and artistic. It gives a sense like being in a cypress forest and has something very elegant and airy about it. Mature and unisex scent.
I wouldn't wear it myself since it is really not my style but I would definetly apreciate it on others. Amazing!

MTgal

One of the best under the radar Hermes fragrances interesting and easy to wear. For such an airy scent it has quite a few different aspects ..citrus, spice (cardamom) but also a gin and tonic aura especially the opening then a tea vibe later on into the wearing

Nymphadora TonkaBean

I’m gonna start off by saying I strongly did not like this perfume, however it is a good perfume just not for my taste. The cedar for some reason was overpowering with my body chemistry and it made me smell like I was wearing bug spray. However, I gave it to my sister and it smelled so clean and sophisticated on her body chemistry. So I say sample it first. It’s definitely unique and the bottle is very cool. I told my sister I wanted the bottle back when she was done and she said no lmao.

ballerinanoir

There is something so Hermès about it
Smells like a put together, quiet luxury woman.

Very uplifting and fresh, well blended and “zen”. Somehow, this perfume reminds me of Bali and its gardens, along with its sounds and balinese magical landscapes.
I dont know why.

Soft sillage and long lasting power. If you want to smell put together and not overwhelming, go for it.

tally2ball

Oh I really like this one. Citrus-Fresh-Green with the classic Hermes DNA undertones. A unisex fragrance that I love wearing as a female who doesn't necessarily love overly floral fragrances. This one is a keeper!

Gabrooch

Cardamom bomb! Somehow manages to keep you fresh and tuned, just like cardamom tea. It is very uplifting and surprisingly not annoying even due to a bunch of spices. I have a feeling there are some synthetic ingredients involved as it reminds of 02 Molecule (e.g. ambroxan)... Strange as JCE is a water-colour natural ingredient specialist. Another reason for this thought is that it also has great silage and longevity. Super voluminous and 3D fragrance.

hatnis

A lot of cloves-esqueness to my nose, which is probably caused by the cardamom or "spices". It's very spicy, but actually in a pretty good way. It's unique and luxurious.

PeacefulSunshine

A lovely lady in my beginner ballet class was wearing this (or maybe it was the EDP) and she smelled wonderful! :) I asked her what it was and she said "Voyage" by Hermes. So I had to order a sample. When it arrived, I tried it on and... ick! Either the EDP that she actually wore is super lovely and very different from this one, or she did wear this EDT but these notes just don't work well on my skin. I am also beginning to realize that I really don't like cedar. Or vetiver which have a similar astringent-like scent for me. I love cardamom so I was hoping I would love this but it's just way too sharp! Ah well. C'est la vie.

andiborzi

I bought mine a few days ago and i didn't know why i picked this scent. After a while i got it. The cozy whool scent how it performed on my skin with some citrus and cardamon. Sooo soft .. lovely and nostalgic <3

Personally I'm in love with this scent--I was surprised so many votes have it as a summer scent since I felt like the spices in the citrus opening made it perfect for fall/winter. What it really reminded me of was late fall bridging on winter? It's funny because it feels a little warm but is still very citrusy. It just smells right to me

ribertol

A fantastic creation by master perfumer JC Ellena, an olfactory journey that transports you through several fragrances created by him. I've already used 3 bottles of this amazing perfume and I'm already wanting to buy another one. Very versatile and elegant, despite having niche perfume facets.

Koummya

I mean... this might be one of the best things I've ever smelled in my life.

I wish it lasted longer.

Wacaz

Smells great, lasts for few hours but projection is intimate. That's why i graded it as overpriced though i love the smell.
It is really good smelling. I may buy iso e super spray for this one.
Will surely get the Eau De Parfum version.

sgd11

First smelled this about 8-10 years ago at the beginning of my frag journey. Blew me away back then and have nothing but positive memories with it. Such a natural, high class smelling fresh fragrance. Very unique compared to what comes out today. One of the most underrated freshies ever.

Unmodernize

I just wish more scents like Voyage were made.

mechglow

This is one of those rare scents that blew me away the first time I smelled it. I didn't even know about Voyage, but the bottle looked aesthetic and I knew that Hermes is a quality house, so I thought why not, let's test it. What a happy accident. I instantly became addicted to the scent, impulsively smelling my arm all day until it wore off. It is such an opulent scent, rich and light at the same time. It may come across as simple, but it's a masterfully blended play of contrasts.

engsaam

Good but so weak

Lemon/green, with a spicy/pepper note

It's clean, airy, smooth

A very good summer choice

This fragrance has a beeeeaautiful soft jasmine/hedione note in the center that smells so clean and tender. This is a classic.

isakasyv

I applied this on skin at the local chemist, smelled it and thought «what a beautiful spicy ginger this is» and then i got on the bus and decided to open fragrantica, little did i know theres no ginger notes listed.. lol

Anyways, its a great scent, will probably get a bottle for the summer

hectorarato

On my skin, the cardamom is almost non-existent, this makes the opening a bit harsh. Once the opening begins to lift, it leaves a very fresh and crisp fragrance of lemon, juniper and tea which to me smells very much like a lovely gin and tonic. The middle notes last a couple hours on me, perfect for a casual night out in the summer, something like an outdoor bar. The cedar and musk are tame on my skin and don't project much, they smell clean, safe and a bit unremarkable.

Just like a gin and tonic, this fragrance is not something memorable, but on a hot summer night it hits just the right spot to make you feel refreshed and a bit livelier.

A swelteringly hot day strolling through a chic Florida suburb. Your throat is parched as you amble through a lush, fountain-gurgling, cicada-chirping garden to reach the Arabesque hotel of your dreams. The A/C soothes and caresses you as you cross the palatial foyer, then make your way up to your luxury suite. You enter the sumptuous marble bathroom, and as you stare at yourself in the mirror majestic Voyage d'Hermès tells you that the pool is beckoning with a gin and tonic. You have reached your destination and you know that after your swim you will savour a delectable meal and then return to the arms of Morpheus bathed in this hypnotic Hermès bouquet. Is that Modern Talking in the background?

Ksj_

I have sampled nearly a thousand fragrances, and I have owned over 100 at one point. Therefore, one may say I have a thing for fragrances. However...this review isn't about that, because it's about how incredible this particular fragrance is. After sampling it at an airport in New York City, I knew I had to possess it. Because after getting blasted by the spicy freshness this fragrance consists of, it was an obvious winner from Hermes. Even though I have recently become a complete snob when it comes to acquiring another fragrance into my now modest collection, this particular fragrance deserves a spot.

Side note:

You will receive a fresh spicy blast of something that is a better version of Cartier's Declaration. Although...you won't experience the headaches that come with wearing Cartier's Declaration because this is perfectly balanced. Unfortunately, it might not appeal to everyone when it comes to purchasing it because it is not a projection monster like most people want nowadays. This is a subtle fragrance that remains for a few hours, and I think is still worth the price tag. (This is a swiss army knife fragrance, you can wear this during any season, and during any hour of the day)

Blackberryhoney

If I could only wear one fragrance this is it. So fresh with juniper and delicious with airy cardamom, there is just a hint of wood to ground it. a masterful blend, so lovely, always the right choice, always appropriate. My city friends tell me I smell like fresh country air, yes that's what it is, "fresh country air"

Wacaz

Made by same perfumer who created declaration, probably that's why So many reviwers think it is very close to declaration. This came in 2010 while declaration was released in 1998. I haven't tried this but declaration is ❤️ for me.

Nice

bounce442

Lemon and musk are not my favorite notes but there is no denying the quality of this scent. The opening is a bit harsh - again, it's the strong, tart lemon that puts me off. Give it 15 minutes and it settles down to something I can appreciate and enjoy wearing.
Leans masculine to me.
I'd choose the "dirty orange" in Terre d'Hermes 9 times out of 10 but Voyage is a nice scent to have for those who appreciate lemon.

derby2169

Voyage is as many have claimed very similar to Declaration with some differences, namely that voyage is not as ultra masculine as Declaration, drying down to a more delicate woody musky base, and also is a touch tarter and greener than Declaration.
Otherwise it is pretty redundant and oddly it is often more expensive on discounters. However either choice is solid and will depend greatly on personal preference.

Mao Lebron

Maybe I got a weird batch but I smell no cardamom or spices. Just a citrusy bomb that smells mildly of bug spray.

joscohen

This is such a beautiful scent that it makes my head spin. It's spicy, aromatic and elegant and makes me feel like I'm on a voyage to a place that hasn't been mapped yet. I experience it as closely related to Jean-Claude Ellena's masterpiece, Déclaration, but airier; Déclaration plants me firmly in a gorgeous landscape, while Voyage has me floating blissfully above it.

aliyegore

A very elegant fragrance of true Hermès quality. Although it is called unisex, I think men can use it much more comfortably. You feel the warmth of woody and light notes at the same time, as well as the terrific cooling of citrus and tea notes. It is not a perfume that I will use often, but I always want it to be in my collection.

Sjess

All citrus to me, it smells like bug repellent, albeit an expensive one 😏. Husband tried it out as well and had the same experience.

detritus

I like this a lot, though it doesn't have the best staying power. Unfortunately, seems to be discontinued.

Jonathanelsher3

Simply amazing. Nothing more, nothing less—just a lovely scent. It's modest in the purest Hermes fashion. I want people to be able to smell this on me and on my clothes, as well as on my person. If a fragrance that was considered, understated, and exquisite had a smell, it would be this. It has a sophisticated, fresh aroma. High quality and minimalism.

Tyler2004durden

This fragrance has extremely poor longevity and sillage.
I almost returned it to the store, because I couldn't smell it after about 10 mins.

Today I mixed it with Molecule 01 and so far so good.
The projection is definitely better, I now get whiffs of it now and again at about an arms length.
Hopefully longevity will improve as well.

rubyfruit

When I tested this on paper, I got almost nothing but cardamom... which I loved! I think cardamom smells amazing and that was one of the most pure/realistic cardamom I'd come across.

Sadly, when I tried it on my skin, it developed quite differently. Definitely still a detectable cardamom note, but the opening stages became a lot more citrusy, and the dry-down is a lot more fresh, clean, almost a little soapy on my skin.

Still smells good, though. Fresh, easy to wear, truly unisex, quite inoffensive. I probably won't be buying a bottle, but definitely a good perfume and one of the better freshies I've encountered (as someone who is not a huge fan of those kinds of scents).

ysl187

Gin & tonic in a bottle. Bitter, fresh, green, juniper berries, pine, lemon, is what i get. Really natural smelling! Last 4 hours or so.. perfect for summer days when you just wanna chill!

49424

A soothing, luxury hotel soap that you can't stop sniffing! Clean linen too, with added musk. Another Hermès/Jean-Claude Ellena gem with trademark quality ingredients, only this time reminiscent of a gin and tonic. Unisex and supremely versatile, though more mature leaning, Voyage deserves a place in any serious collector's arsenal. The downside is that it soon becomes a skin scent with moderate to weak longevity. That said, the majestic vibe that this gives off makes it worth every penny.

pweedyadel

Never got to use this when I bought it and I think I had it for a year before decluttering. I know it’s a freshie that is perfect for the warmer weather. Hermes Voyage d’Hermes is a spicy cardamom and tea based scent. Unisex and airy. Another discontinued gem in my collection.

mhobol

Voyage is a really nice, but also pretty weak freshie! It opens a alcoholic citrus cardamom and pretty soon dries down a fresh and slightly woody gin & tonic. I love the juniper berries in this one. For those who tried DS & Durgas Coriander, this will smell familiar. It may be weak, but you still smell fresh for a while. A totally inoffensive fragrance to wear at work, clean and fresh, but without the fresh laundry feeling.

IamdrinkingBeer

A little fresher, less spicy, updated version of Declaration with some tea. Just go and pick up Declaration if you don't mind some excitement and boldness honestly. Nowhere near as complex and satisfying as the former tho. Still, i would choose this over 90% of spring/summer scents, cause it simply outclasses all the summer stuff out there.

spiceysauce5

It’s similar to the edp but also more generic. Very clean, with a bit of earthiness which reminds me a bit of TdH, minus the vetiver. Quite nice actually, and I think that’s a good description. TdH minus vetiver and switch orange for lemon. Very airy and fresh but with some oomph. I prefer the parfum as I find it more soothing, like a warm cup of tea. It settles me when o I wake up and have an upset stomach/headache, the opposite of some perfumes. This one is more fresh leaning, but in doing so loses a bit of that soothing nature. Still good, and if I tested it in summer might like it better.

7/10

SocialAssassin

I get lemons, gin, and tonic, with a bit of tea and subdued creaminess. A lot better than the sweeter EdP which has a heavy cardamom accord and is closer to Blue Noir more than anything else. This one is airy, tranquil and gentle and has small traits of Angelique's Sous La Pluie and Armani Eau de Cedre. It's lovely and I enjoy wearing it.

kekadam

Zero seconds fainted citrus with cardamom. Some tea at lowers. But remember, dominated cardamom only can be smell if you take a bath yourself with voyage.

cvaile

The EDP is one of all-time favorite designer scents, so I thought I'd pick up a bottle of it's warm-weather sibling since they've been discontinued and I spotted a good price on a tester.

Actually warm-weather a bit of a misnomer - they are both perfectly suitable for year-round use, but in profiles they certainly adhere to the recent designer trend. The EDT is the drier, more citrus-woody classic 2010's-style masculine fragrance, while the EDP is warmer, heavier, spicier and closer to unisex than is the EDT.

Neither are great performers, but the EDT seems particularly ephemeral unless I've gone anosmic - I get, exactly as MAKSTR below has said, four hours on the dot before it becomes hard to detect as a skin scent.

I'd say if this becomes an expensive discontinued bottle, don't spend too much money - it's very good, not very unique - you can get very similar high-quality scents without spending too much. Spend that EBay discontinued money on the EDP - it's so, so, so much better, in my humble opinion.

Foxsbiscuits

Voyage is an abstract scent, it doesn't do it justice to describe notes as there's very little separation in the accord and it is greater than the sum of its parts. It is the spark of flint clashed together, not the slow warmth of a fire but a bright, immediate, and almost alarming flash. Invigorating in a similar way to a citrus cologne but built more around spice instead. It is clearly there without being loud, persistent, or overbearing. It leans towards clean smelling without being soapy and retains a very crisp natural/organic quality throughout which becomes softer over time but never loses the sour brightness.

It's a welcome flash in the pan, clear and bracing. Mineral without being earthy or metallic. Sheer and cooling without being cold or watery. It has Ellena's familiar trademark transparency and ephemeral touch, wearing a bit like a cologne in weight/sillage but with EDT longevity.

I want to call it a simple fragrance but I'm not sure the ingredients are simple, instead I would call it a honing of Ellena's style. It could be seen as a mix of his old fragrances, "nothing new", but to me it is a continuation and evolution of his theme and I am finding satisfaction and pleasure in wearing it.

Warning: Story below
One day before 7th grade, I was trying to go through a more grown up cool phase and started wearing my dads sweaters and brothers t shirts. As my brother was still living with us, he would leave his fragrances in the bathroom. I remember taking a sniff of Hermès voyage and being amazed, it smelled like luxury and citrus. I sprayed it on and went to school, which I received compliments that day which was a surprise for me, as I was having an extremely difficult time with bullying and fitting in.
Fast forward many years, the fragrance comes into mind again when I watch a YouTube video mentioning it. I missed it, it was subtle yet classy and romantic. Things I felt my dreams are composed of. I was on a quest to have my own.
On a trip with my parents which was kinda mixed when it comes to happy and frustrating memories, I bought it at a duty free shoppe leaving vacation. This was it, this was what I felt I needed to my collection.
And at this time, someone I had a crush on for a while seemed to be giving me the time of day, and I’d made plans to meet with said person while on a short visit to New York again. This is what I imagined they would find attractive as they seemed put together and chic, it was just sexy and innocent enough I felt while also being taken seriously.
So I wore it when I finally met them..
And that was a day that I can’t forget also due to the smell.
But things turned sour and so did my love for that fragrance because it no longer smelled like what dreams were made of, but another memory I’d rather forget.
After a while I put it into the back of my closet, because I rather forget it.
I recently decided that besides all the memory I have attached to this, I still love it and wanna wear it. It’s fresh and lemony but not a pungent lemon. So classy and beautiful

MAKSTR

Lovely fresh unisex scent, cardamom, fresh, citrus and floral notes are very prominent in the beginning. After an hour or so it feels like sour jasmine in a good way and tends towards more feminine scent, slowly fades in 4 hours.

Do not under ANY circumstances purchase this fragrance. Yes it's amazing, but it's the EXACT same fragrance as Cartier Declaration, a fragrance JCE made. Jean was definitely lazy with the project of making this fragrance and just (not even clone) made the same exact formula. I say get Declaration because it's cheaper. Please ignore the snob(s) below, they'll praise Jean Claude Elena if he crapped in a bottle and called it ''bum voyage''.

JmThms

I just sprayed this on just 10 minutes ago for the first time, and already I KNOW this is NOT similar to that grotesque cummin-bomb of body odor known as Cartier Declaration. It's on the "Reminds me of" list with lots of thumbs up. Those people are completely nose blind.

OK, now into the dry down, performance is indeed an issue. This is essentially a skin scent. Good for the office in summertime. But this is quite similar to Terre d'Hermes Eau Tres Fraiche. I'm a fan of the Hermes Terre line. And I think that the Terre freshie may be a bit better performer than the Voyage freshie, but I may be hasty on that call. This is a good scent, but if you have Terre d'Hermes Eau Tres Fraiche this would be a bit redundant unless you are a collector. And we know how collectors behave. I think I can at least wait for a bottle of this and will enjoy my Terre d'Hermes Eau Tres Fraiche for this summer.

brokesta911

Hermes Voyage d’ Hermes (2010) - cardamom tea - Im sure most would think of #jeanclaudeellena ‘s creation resembling like a Gin & Tonic, but this refreshing and versatile perfume has more to give to the wearer. First, I don’t get the boozy vibe from a gin&tonic, instead I get a beautiful spicy and floral Cardamom mixed with Lemons and Tea leaves. To supplement the green-accord from this, Mr. Ellena even placed even more green notes and I get a fresh dewy grass smell. Rounded out by Cedar and White musk - really well-made.

Shakhruh

I don’t understand why this perfume is called delicate and soft. It's too sharp. It is so sharp that it even causes headaches. The smell 10 years ago had intoxicated me with its wonder. Who can help me? Why is the smell of 10 years ago not even 1% similar to the smell of today? I give 100/100 to the scent 10 years ago and 0 to the scent now.

benmch01

Lovely perfume, lasts about 8 hours on my skin. Quite unique and a much more pleasant version of Terre d'Hermes.
If you like this, you should try Dior Homme 2020: a much more rounded and addictive scent than Voyage, IMO.

miles178

it simply smells like a cruising the Atlantic on a boat and that cardamom makes it unique
having both, edt for spring/summer, parfum version for fall/winter
simply J.C. Ellena signature style - transparent, airy freshie but with Hermes timeless elegance.

Gogiciano

Perfect for a sunny spring day. Its smells clean and green. It smells like a delicious tea would smell. I have not much to add. I think the people commented before me, had it right. Its a great smell, but gets very close to the skin fast. It is unisex. But I think its a bit better suited for a man.

Lom

I tried this again today at a store. I used to have this perfume and it brought back good memories, Such an excellent perfume. Lovely. Too bad it completely disappeared on my skin. You could not smell it. Still, I love it.

Shakhruh

In 2010, when I was 10 years old, my uncle was taking tourists, one day he invited me to my grandfather's house, we went, and there were French tourists. One of them gave me a small copy of this perfume, yes, I remember. a running horse, and a white dove on top of the horse. I sniffed it and was silent for a moment because I had never smelled a perfume like this before. How wonderful. I never used this perfume again because I forgot the name, But I remembered the picture. Ten years later, I searched for it in the picture. I only used it once, but the smell is still in my brain. But I'm hesitant to buy it now because its smell has changed. I am afraid of that.
Please tell, if you have a version released in 2010, does it smell 100% similar to the current version?
has it been reformulated?

fyetan

Fresh, a little spicy. This smells exactly like an expensive hotel's washroom.

Noelohashi

It reminds me a refined version of Ulric de Varens UDV

brianfamous88

One of my favorite frag .I have a bottle from 2010 50% full .long lasting all day . Smells better than Declaration .Declaration is more spicy. This juice is more fresh .

diego.lesgart

A.D.N Hermes Saddly lost! Poor projection and longevity resulting for an inofensive summer or spring cologne (specially on spring time, because it is so poor than in summer has no much live in skin and air ) ... Declaration by Cartier has no the power, and imprint of the initial Cartier s seasons but is just more complex of Voyage... This Hermes fragance sinned of a common cologne.

Smells wonderful and fresh but longevity and projection are absolute jokes. I get around 1 hour of longevity before it completely disappears from my skin after 6 sprays. Maybe it's the new batch.

PolishRose

I have no patience with endless iterations of 'pink sugar', which so many feminines seem to be, so this unisex fragrance is a refreshing offering.

It is spicy and woody, like an old cedarwood chest, and there is a distinct but not overpowering citrus freshness. The drydown is essentially a softer version of the opening.

Do I like how it smells? Yes. Do I want to wear it? No, but I can see plenty of people wanting to.

agate.ne

The page said: woody floral musk, it smells more like spicy citrusy to me. And because I work with a lot of spices (I love them!) it speaks gourmand, but not the sweet kind, it's savory.

Voyage d'Hermès is a shy and polite scent. Sillage is moderate, unintrusive, but enough. I'll see how the performance later. It's categorized as uni and I have to agree, though it smells pretty much feminine to me. Also, this is a day time perfume. You might want a stronger scent for night occasion (or maybe you don't).

This find is a bit of a surprise. I didn't expect it to be available in my usual store. Hence my quick buy. This scent is a tribute for my late friend who said he liked it. Now I get to remember him (and how he smelled) whenever I spray this perfume.

I like the scent, objectively speaking. And since it's my friend's favorite I like it even more. As a memorabilia though. For someone else, I think the scent fits for someone who wants to smell good without being noticed too much, all while throwing the fun in (because the spice!).

Andy the Frenchy

Smeels like a draft of Declaration. Not bad, just soulless.

Female crowds may appreciate that one, but don't expect many compliment from men. A pass for me.

raiza1990

Fresh and a bit spicy. Elegant, pleasant and expensive smelling. It's soft and sensual. Great scent! Dominant notes are tea and cardamon.

Djedi

A cardamom centric fragrance. Opening is very zesty, and uplifting. Cardamom, lemon, and a peppery musk dominate the heart and base notes. I'm a fan of Ellena's work and even though Voyage smells nice and pleasant, it's nothing more than that. Nothing really here that will blow your socks off. A safe option which is suitable almost anytime. Performance is fairly weak due to its transparent nature but if you enjoy lighter scents and like the smell of cardamom then this would be a good option.

This has to be one of my favorite fragrances in terms of scent profile in the whole world, but one of my least favorite in terms of performance, as others have pointed out. It's an absolutely addicting blend of citrus, tea, wood, and musk with a beautifully rendered cardamom note. It's clean, airy, billowy, and out-of-the-shower fresh, but there's also a little bit of dirtiness or earthiness undergirding the whole thing that adds a sexy edge. It's genderless, ageless (in my opinion, though one might argue that it better suits someone 20+), and just phenomenal in every way EXCEPT for performance. It's pretty much an instant skin scent for me, with a longevity of maybe 2-3 hours, practically EDC in terms of strength. Now, I must add that I do live in a subtropical, bordering on tropical, climate with extremely hot and humid weather, and I have perfume eating skin. Even so, I've applied Voyage d'Hermes in an air conditioned environment without going outside and gotten the same outcome. Wearing this on my daily walk to work resulted in total annihilation, with not even a trace of the fragrance remaining after fifteen minutes. I've plowed through my 35ml (very cool) bottle of Voyage within a matter of months. This reflects both my love for the fragrance (and I do truly love the smell) and its utter lack of performance. For that reason, despite the fact that I adore the smell, I will either be purchasing the Parfum once my bottle is finished, or looking elsewhere.

Konga5000

Nice, but don't go out of your way for it -- and do not pay top dollar (say, at the mall or Sephora). If you see a "deal online" go for it (say $40.00 or so). Not a good blind buy IF you own Cartier Declaration already / not a good blind buy if you DISLIKE Cartier Declaration (of which, this is only slightly better). Bottle design can be a curse OR a blessing to whoever may own it. LOL.
That said it's hard to find anything actually bad from the house of Hermes !

FloidnScotch

This is beautiful, my favourite cardamom fragrance. Perfect for when I want a clean fragrance without the citrus in slightly colder weather, when AdP and most citrus are just too light.

So understated. This juice makes me think of fresh white linen.

Performance is rather weak but to be expected given the composition. Surprisingly, I get better performance from the EDT. Prefer it to the EDP also (which I also really like). If you're thinking about getting the EDP due to performance of the EDT I'd advise to try it first.

Great for the office and most daytime occasions, also spring/ summer nights

DrNDJas

Hermes Voyage is a lovely light, refreshing fragrance suited perfectly for warmer weather. It is perfectly unisex with neither traditionally masculine or feminine undertones, though as cardamom is used extensively in men's fragrances, I can see how some would find this leaning masculine by association.
Comparable cardamom-centric fragrances such as Cartier Declaration and Narciso Rodriguez Bleu Noir are more complex, heavier, and just a bit more interesting to me. Voyage is cleaner, more transparent albeit more fleeting on my skin than the others. Indeed, it is quite subtle. When considered next to my favorites (Declaration l'Eau and NR Bleu Noir) Voyage seems a little thin by comparison as I prefer the others. However, if you are seeking a representative cardamom fragrance of good quality, this one is an excellent choice.

Simca01

I have a sample of this in both EDT and EDP and for some reason I get 'celery' in among the notes. I have also detected that same 'celery' ... an almost bitter and not attractive celery note in Versace Ethereal. I really wanted to like these but I can't get past the 'past its prime' celery aroma. What is that? I know many don't detect this. Is it connected to the 'peach' note? I need to scrub off because it has such an adverse effect. Someone tell me what I am smelling pls. :-(

asgeirn

EDT > EDP

I sampled both today, and the edt was both superior in sillage and skin scent, even after I washed my hands!

Wow, this is a beauty! Can't wait until my next payday!

Infinitys_Minute

I get a strong dry juniper which seems to burn off very quickly and is followed by earthy cardamom with maybe a little bit of ginger and nutmeg (?). It continues along it's earthy-spicy-woody way, becoming very faint after 30min. I do catch wafts of it at ~1ft distance but it's very airy and light, I need to get within 1" of my skin to smell it strongly and consistently at this point.

I'll have to try this again soon, I enjoy it while also not knowing what to think of it.

alittleofeverything

Ice cold gin and cardamom. I can't fathom why it's labeled "warm spicy" - the scent is frigid!

It's not a "natural" arctic smell - I know the arctic, I live in it - it lacks the smoky ozone bite of natural frost. This is like the blast from a walk-in freezer.

Reminds me a bit of a particular brand of cleaning fluid we have here in Scandinavia - Ajax window cleaner, but without the ammonia. I don't mind, the smell is cleanliness incarnated.

I imagine it's what Tilda Swinton's witch Queen Jadis would have worn in "The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe", espcially in warmer weather when it looses its cleanliness and turns a bit animalic.

I wear it year round, but actually prefer it in the colder months. It's a confidence booster. Ice Queen me.

magda14012

What comes to mind? A tailor made white shirt, designer shades, freshly washed hair that dried in the summer wind. It is elegant, clean cut scent. Minimalism and high quality. Voyage gives me good vibes, makes me feel content and puts a smile on my face, even if it's cold outside. Still manages to transfer me to a beautiful place, where the sun always shines.

LadyIva

Voyage is a strange one. I was expecting to smell almond (which always smells like glue to me!); fortunately, no screechy glue scent here. Instead, it is dominated by green notes, tea, leather and musk. The leather is soft and understated, hence it doesn’t overwhelm the senses. It lasts for quite a few hours; the opening is on the sharper side, but then it mellows and becomes even greener than before. Sillage is moderate.

sureyya

makes you feel elegant, this is my initial opinion, to be continued.

Tazahr

I doubt people who are referencing YSL La Nuit Dl'Homme as a cardamom dominant fragrance have tried this. This has the most authentic cardamom accord that I have ever smelled period. It is fresh, bitter and spicy, has the signature DNA of JC Ellena. Not very much a crowd pleaser but a well rounded fragrance all in all and of high quality.

Rux2589

To think that I almost missed this one just because it was in the men's section!

A reviewer said earlier that the dry down smells like deers balls and as funny as that sounds, I can see why!

Very animalic, also very masculine in the opening. In time it becomes lighter and more suitable for a woman, while also maintaining what I personally identify as a leather accord.

I have a hard time choosing between the EDT and the Parfum version, for warmer seasons this would be the better choice. Both, however, exude good taste and a great sense of style.

TheG

Very Nice Scent, It is a laundry scent however. Performance isn't enviable, but the scent and it's potency is just right. If you want something that will scream louder that's also a laundry scent, try Versace's The Dreamer

ro_ro_123

This, simply, smells divine.

Nothing more, nothing less, it is just a beautiful smell.

Its understated, in the most Hermes way.

I want my clothes to smell like this, I want to smell like this, I want people to smell this on me.

If refined, considered, low-key, impeccable taste had a smell, it would be this.

Love.

rushrocker

A feminine-leaning, unisex, soapy smell with poor performance. I do not understand all the praise...

angel has a problem

This is everything I never knew I needed from a hot weather fragrance, and I absolutely hate that it took me so long to find it.

I am, historically, a wearer of "men's fragrances" in the heat. I do like my fragrances to be very feminine, generally, but fragrances made for women typically rest on a bed of sweetness, which, in the high heat, I am unable to tolerate without developing a blinding headache. (Phew. What a run-on sentence!) My solution? Layer my femme fragrances over uber-clean, uber-fresh men's summer fragrances, my favourites being Bleu de Chanel (yup!) and Boss Orange by Hugo Boss. I had all but given up on ever finding a women's summer fragrance that was 'enough' in and of itself.

I initially was decided on purchasing Dior Homme Cologne for my summer scent this year. Fresh enough, clean enough, a little bit spicy, tolerable longevity (though below par) and though not at all femme enough for me, I thought, "Well, this is probably the closest I'm going to get." ... which is a dangerous thing to think in the perfume world. There is actually a *perfect* fragrance for everything if you are patient enough.

Enter Voyage d'Hermes. Oh me, oh my. It smells like iced black Indian masala chai with lemon slices in it. That only happens to be my FAVOURITE summer drink (to be fair, Indian chai is my favourite drink all year, iced or steaming hot, as appropriate). It's fresh, but... unexpectedly so. Usually, you get a mojito or something (looking at Acqua di Gioia for example), something fresh but sweet, too. This is not sweet at all, but also doesn't veer too far into masculine territory for the lack of sweetness. It is exactly unisex. Or sexless? But... sexy, too, with the cool spicy cardamom. It dries down to a soapy, clean, somewhat woody skinscent, which reminds me of the smell of a docked boat somehow. Ugh. I absolutely LOVE the scent of this.

Performance is wanting, I only get a max of 4 hours, but I wouldn't spring for the parfum because I personally don't mind reapplying, since I love the initial burst of this. Sillage is about arm's length, which is my general comfort zone. Surprisingly, it is also a crowdpleaser! I was at a late lunch in the sweltering heat one day, and I touched up the scent. Everyone appreciated the freshness so much that my bottle ended up getting passed around the table for everyone to get a little spritz! Then the waiter said our table smelled very good. (Usually, people groan about perfume in the heat...)

A definite must-try for anyone who is looking for an unusual hot weather scent, male or female. Jean Claude Ellena, you are a genius. Voyage has set the stage for every subsequent summer fragrance I try to disappoint me.

SirCharles

This is really one of the most beautiful scents I've ever smelled. The lemon here isn't a typical juicy or sharp lemon, but more like a lemon cookie, mixing with fresh spices and soft woods, all with a light, airy texture. Voyage is the DEFINITION of casual elegance. Reminds me of a sunny spring day, or lounging on a patio overlooking the Mediterranean while the breeze blows through your white linen shirt.

_christine_

I forget about this one sometimes which is unfortunate. Every time I wear it I fall in love with it again.

Voyage d'Hermes combines two of my favorite notes, grapefruit, and cardamon. The green, watery notes add a clean freshness that makes Voyage d'Hermes perfect for the office. Or the tennis court. Or any daytime activity really.

It is definitely unisex. It's soft and understated, but with a hint of gin and tonic. It's a very elegant fragrance

lulu7898

I'm a woman and find this scent intoxicating. I haven't smelled it on a man yet...soon I hope! The first things I smell are a blast of pepper and cardamom which makes it quite sharp (which I adore). Then it just mellows to a fresh woodsy and slightly zesty lemon. Wonderful!

genny17

I really enjoyed the tester, so bought it..upon receiving it, although I like the fresh aromatic spiciness, I felt it wasn't typically feminine enough for my taste..it smells similar to Dior cologne, and I felt it was more appropriate for young men, so I was happy to give it to my 15 year old son..it is a fresh classy scent, the fresh notes mix well with a woodsy undertone.,more masculine smell and the bottle too is more suited for guys..great scent by Hermes .

Rinio

I am a woman and love it. Haven´t heard a single compliment yet from the husband...He loves all of my other perfumes though. Do you think it´s weird to smell this on a woman? I think it´s perfect for office wear. What do you think?

joseffgabriel

JUNIPER BERRIES! Why isnt it listed?

utsavgo

This is a great fragrance with weak projection and lasting. I really wished it lasted more and projected better. Such unique fragrances should be better performing. Unfortunately only, the ones with Oud do that.

keatm49

The smell is great freshness with spice thrown in I like edp slightly better but both edt and edp remind me of a fresh Stella Artois being opened at a family party weird how some fragrances just give you a feel some are short flashes some tell a story some good some bad that's what I love about perfumery they all paint a picture for you

joseffgabriel

This is so good, but i think they are really having a hard time making it last so they add this little ingredient. The bugspray drydown of Hermes Colognes esp the citrus scent needs this specific ingredient, and the smoky fumes from traffic at the rooftop in Paris in su le toit isnt really meant to be there. They add Petroleum to all their citrus scents to make it last thats why it smells like bug spray and traffic fumes.

Update: It took me a long time loving this fragrance, It smells ginger. Its so complex but its simple. Well balanced. If you want to love this fragrance do not use this like a cologne after bath you will not appreciate this. Use this when youre traveling or walking a lot. This really reflects the brand. Simple but elegant. It does not get boring and everytime you get a whiff you get a different note animalic musk to lemon and ginger juice. This is not for everyone. Only for certain people who likes to be unique and smart. If you dress smart and wear this then you certainly are smart and you want to be different than what the crowd wants (*bleu de chanel, terre dhermes, ck one ehem niche cliche). Then they will like this because you are wearing this. This is not a "smell me please! all nose on me!" perfume. The scent is only for the people that is close to you and can get near you. This scent is not douchebaggy like "f*ck me girls i smell good" perfume. This is more like of a directive, young and beautiful/handsome CEO of a design brand or the perfume of the teen sons/daughter of a Hotel Founder.

Very animalic on the dry down. Smells like deers balls.

Violinplayah

Sweet, fresh, woody and sophisticated without smelling complicated or uptight. Very like Acqua di Parma Ginepro di Sardegna but not quite as long lasting. Very unisex, and a great summer weather fragrance that doesn't smell like sunscreen. It's the scent of dry woods warmed by the summer sun carried on a salt breeze.

vincy_gal

I find this scent very soap like. Not in a bad way mind you, but just a clean soapy fresh clean scent. It's very mild and won't offend anyone. I'm not a huge fan of unisex scents so it's not for me.

elegantpasha

I love the spicy smell of this fragrance BUT i find it at the same time very weak, longevity is a problem here and it is a skin scent within minutes. Love the brand and the bottle though.
i give this one 6/10......

paulhunter

Just when I thought I was getting good at detecting notes, this perfume has baffled me. I smell fig leaf, like, more than anything else. But there is no fig to be seen, and nobody seems to smell it either. Very strange. To my nose, underneath the fig leaf, there is the unmistakeable Ellena/Hermés DNA. I can definitely smell a resemblance between this and Un Jardin sur le Nil. I don't smell spicy notes, certainly not cardamom... I'm baffled. This is very nice, though. Refreshing, botanical, and juicy.

GRAF

I like it! Very pleasant and smooth citrus/cardamom dominant scent. In fact it could be one of my favourite warm weather scents if it had at least a high-moderate performance. After 1 hour or so, it becomes a skin scent with zero sillage/projection. Not even a scent bubble that many prada edp create.

Black_Swan

I don't find this at all masculine - quite feminine in fact, and beautiful at that. So interesting how different scents read differently on different people.

Cauda Pavonis

A pleasant, refreshing offering from Hermes. A potent citrus that hangs around for a surprisingly long time! Sharp lemon combines with cardamom and spicy pepper for a likeable, stylish fragrance. I wish I could wear this but it's definitely too masculine for me. Another great fragrance from Hermes, though.

Strat

To me this smelled a little like CK One plus cardamom. The cardamom is very prominent initially. If I didn't already associate cardamom with food, I think I'd enjoy this scent more. There is a classy little touch of musk that compliments the other notes. Once the cardamom slap to the face wears off a little bit, the drydown is a well balanced, pleasant scent. I will give it that, but frankly its resemblance to CK One torques me for the money I paid for it. This is not a cologne where you're going to walk into a room and wow anybody. It didn't seem to project well. I'd return this if I hadn't lost the receipt. I'll try wearing this for awhile to see if it grows on me, but I'm not holding my breath.

osiris5

This is a nice perfume for daily use.
It has some fine notes. It opens with a citric-spicy note of citrus and cardamom that is embedded in a green tea-like note.
The last note that is also present is the musk but very subtle.
This perfume has something easy going and gives freshness.
It reminds me a bit of cologne 4711 that is used in the same way as the title of this perfume suggests. I guess that is why they made this perfume deliberately in a way you can use it as often as you need it. Because the longevity and the silage is not that great. But the notes in it are very harmonious.
When to use on warm days, when y on the road, when ever and mostly, spring, summer, just as refreshment and of course unisex because it has class; its Hermes.

ScarlettX

This is one good fresh, spicy, pure green scent! I like it, it's mild and classy, a little powdery as well.
Very similar to the EDP version, just as good.
A distinctive Hermes' fragrance, you just know immediately, it's Hermes.
Great composition, light touch and pure elegance.

pdubrogers

Green and Clean! Loving this! This is my comfort zone. Non-offensive and classy. Longevity is a concern, but still slightly detectable at the end of the day. A winner if you enjoy green fragrances.

rakan1985

Siv7Stars

Very woody indeed, opens like pencil shavings. Maybe a very slight hint of metal as well. It warms up very nicely into something like Lancaster D'Light and Burberry Woman but slightly more sophiticated. Very good genuinely unisex perfume. I'd be happy with anybody who smelled like this.
Also I found this very long lasting indeed, all day and definitely longer on clothes.

mhiregoudar

Lighter version (Female) of Terre d'Hermes.
The cardamom is too much & gets cloying as you were it more and more.

EternalReturn

Bright, somewhat harsh-edged opening. A bit of citrus, slightly spicy, along with some vegetal green, followed by a much softer, vaguely floral heart. Honestly I can't even detect the base notes in this, and it's a skin scent within 45 minutes. Totally gone in 2-3 hours. Note: these results are from a decant worn mainly in air-conditioned spaces in a tropical country.

Disappointing for me. I love my Terre d'Hermes, and I'm a fan of the Jardin series. This scent is just OK, and longevity is such an issue (at least on my skin and in these conditions) that I don't think a bottle would be worth the price.

What has worked much better for me has been layering this with Philosykos (EDT). Somehow the two short-lived fragrances seem to make each other last somewhat longer in combination, and also the Hermes seems to tamp down the coconut note which I feel is a bit too prominent in Philosykos. The scents really complement each other well. So it's a winning combo.

cocoethermes

Voyage d'Hermes begins with a blast of citrus, persists with a veil of warm spices, and ends with a delicate sprinkle of tea and flowers. So unique, so sophisticated! It makes me feel adventurous and ready to take on a challenge!

BeOrtega

this stuff is pure magic mmm

this is one of the best citrus openings ever its so uplifting and mood changing from the first spray

its citrus note (lemon) & warm spics (cardamom) hit just right in its opening followed by some middle notes of tea florals and earthy accords which just projects off the skin beautifully the dry down is just as wonderful with hints of wood and musk but thats where it all ends for me

unfortunately this scent doesn't let its beauty last since longevity is a big issue i dont know how well the edp version does in that regard but I'm willing to break my golden rule and still buy this scent

i may just have to carry around a atomizer to make this last throughout the day

do yourself a favour and give this one a try

thank me later ;)

on to the next

Calvini

It has one of those "fresh citrus" openings unlike any other, with a prominent realistic cardamon blast that's both awakening and mouth watering (one of my favorite accent spices for cooking). Minutes after the opening, cardamon shares its spotlight with the rest of the crowd, turning into a well blended aromatic fresh spicy scent.

aanton1

Voyage d'Hermes is another masterpiece from the house of Hermès. I feel this unisex fragrance is more suited for men, but could very well see this on a woman. This is my go to for when I just want to smell fresh and clean. It is very well balanced. The citrus opening is typical of say for most of Hermès cologne, but this one also has a blast of cardamom. Now, I wouldn't recommend it for the summer as the cardamom is overwhelming with the heat. It is wonderful though any other time of year, moreso than most other cardamom fragrances. The mid notes are very interesting to me, its a unique mix of spicy oriental, aquatic, and green. I usually am not a fan of outright aquatic or green fragrances, but voyage is really balanced nicely. The dry down then turns into this lovely woody peppercorn essence. The longevity is average, 3-4 hours with probably 6-8 on clothing. Projection could be s bit better. The bottle design is especially cool and plays into the equestrian heritage of the house. The packaging also is dead on with the feeling if the juice. Overall, another winner for Hermès and for those who want a nice, clean everyday fragrance that's unique.

I Love this grapefrukt and the flower spicy smell it's so sexy and beautiful .become one of my beloved frag elegant expensive and sophisticated !! 10/10

Beautifully crafted flanker, absolutely modern befitting today's men and women on the go. Voyage d'Hermes is remarkably fresh, flowing yet serene; does not dim or goes dull at any point. Signature of modern charm, never overpowering! Love to win this.

It would be wonderful to win this fragrance! Thank you and happy holidays!

I would definitely enjoy this fragrance, if I am a lucky winner. It's very hard for me to find a scent that has both the spice and the citrus scents that I love.

yogisuryadi

When I know this perfume is going to release, I definitely want to have one.
The aroma is very pleasant to wear in this tropical climate area (Jakarta). And it last longer even though the climate is rather harsh.
I feel very feel very fresh all day long.
Perfect scent for hot and humid area.

RavenRhyme

This one smells like Un Jardin Sur Le Nil, just missing a few notes. I like it, it's ok but I think I'll go for the one with the extra notes, though it is EDT just like this. Interesting bottle.

iman_hamishe_payiz

Prima donna Cardamoma

This sleek vibrant beauty is one of the instances of the pumped-up reality.

And by the way, Parfum version is long lasting but it's reminiscent of the organic salad, Sur Le Nil, rather than the Cardamom Heaven, Voyage EDT.

The smell of cardamom that this perfume has is unique. It's very, very natural. You can smell this penetrating smell from the very beginning. Feel your presence. It is really worth buying. It is fantastic. By putting this perfume on yourself, even if you are depressed, you will get up and start exercising. I mean it makes you feel better

Layana

Me and my husband share this. Great for travelling light. Crisp citrus with floral and woodsy notes. Very unisex. It is nice I like it. Although it smells much better on him.

I feel in the effort to make this unisex it is a bit too pleasing. Trying to make everyone happy. It is not something I love. It doesnt come close to Terre D'Hermes for my husband. But nice enough to keep us both happy.

smellagent

I BUY THIS FOR MY HUSBAND AND AM SO HAPPY WHEN HE WEARS IT. LET'S FACE IT, I'M THE ONE WHO SMELLS IT THE MOST NOT HIM. FIRST WHIFF, A MAN COMING ON DECK FROM BELOW ON HIS SAILBOAT NOT YACHT. THIS IS JUST CLEAN HONEST FRAG. AT ITS BEST.

Hasnain

Talking about EDT..
elegant blend
Perfect choice for work or a day meeting
it has got the very necessary power that gives you a refreshing kick right after its first spray
cardamom combined with spices in more than a perfect ratio with a dry down of charismatic wood are enough to clear your mind & make you ready for a successful day
Very serious problem with EDT is that neither the projection nor the longevity support the awesomeness of this fragrance
It just disappears in less than 2 hours
Projection can be compromised but too short lasting time becomes the convincing reason to think twice before you buy this elegant fragrance
Smell 8.5/10
Projection 5/10
Longevity 3.5/10

If we talk about EDP..
Projection and longevity are good but addition of extra cardamom makes it rather sweeter and less masculine
Smell 5/10
Projection 7/10
Longevity 7/10

limes7

too much cardamom hermes. i tried this in some duty free with test strips and really liked it enough to buy. a few days later at home and on skin... well... it just goes to show... try it on skin before buying. haha. did not like it one bit. that's the problem when you try too many scents on yourself in duty free that the only other place left to spray is on a piece of paper. i'm sure you cardamom lovers will regal in this one.

Bretto66

This is a voyage you want to take! Although it is a rather short voyage in terms of longevity.

CDGfan

A Voyage to India!

I love this, it honestly smells EXACTLY like Indian tea boiling, with the the green cardamom at the forefront, which is the centerpiece of not only Indian tea but also Voyage D'Hermes, an ode to Cardamom and spices with a refreshing twist. There are some similarites with this and Apres les Mouson. Where as Apres Les Mouson is all about the wet forests of Southern India, Voyage D'Hermes conujures up images of Tea Plantations in India
at dawn.

Yoga14

There are a few fragrances when i wear them on me for the first time, do not instantly satisfy my taste. This is one of them. Cardamon combined with floral notes didn't work well for me. The initial whiffs were clogging. But eventually, say about an hour or so it left a nice but not so pleasant ambery and a slight musky kind of fragrance.
I would never wear this when im gonna have a tuff day at work and definitely not when im annoyed. Its not supposed to be a morale booster or a mood uplifter for me. I'd wear this fragrance when im going to the beach on a sunny afternoon or maybe not.

ellina1984

To me this is very spicy, and chock-full of cardamom. Not light, not fresh, not clean. For me, this is for cardamom what Kenzo Jungle is for cloves.

Einey

Yet another excellent fragrance by J-C.E. from the house of Hermes. It's a classy effervescent lemony scent with woodsy notes and a hint of cardamom and/or green tea. Lots of character and somehow has a very passionate/sexual vibe during the drydown. An original bottle and it's refillable though I've never seen refills of this fragrance for sale anywhere.

This one doesn't stick around for very long. On me, it's lasting around 3-4 hours and then it's a pure skin scent for another 2-3 hours.

I'm a big collector and this by no means is my first or only well made, quality fragrance that doesn't last all day and that's just fine. Anyone wanting more longevity is probably wearing it to work during the day and the important thing to remember is that with any great fragrance, the first impressions you make that day, probably in the morning when you're freshly showered and shaven, are what people around you will notice and remember. Nobody wants to smell you all day. If you're more interested in smelling it on yourself and want to keep that vibe going, carry a small decant in your pocket and give the back of your hand a spray every few hours.

Miran23kurd

I am not the biggest fan of cardamom but this, oh yes this, its a big exception, its the type of fragrance u cant simply dislike its clean and of very high quality really recommending it for people who like cardamom

Such a great scent, truely unisex without straying too far to either side. It's unique in that it's not offensive, but also very appealing and attractive. Like all other Hermes frags, it stays true throughout without changing dramatically from top to dry-down. I get Cardamom, Ginger, and Tea all the way thru. In a word, this scent is 'sparkling'. In some more words, it's refreshing enough for a bright, sunny day, and warm enough for an evening in. A classic.

pauroj

i love this one , this is expensive smell for sure , this is what i imagine a powerful wall street broker to smell like , for me it is unisex and honeslty it brings so many awesome memories i used it trough a trip to southeast asia and for me this is the perfect summer scent forever

angelayio

This is a masterpiece, it is obviously a JC Ellena creation, you can't miss that. It has that twist at the end of the ...sniff. I always think that twist is his signature. The dry down brings to mind un jardin en mediteranee, only better. It is fresh, green, of course citrusy, with a bittersweet aftertaste.

ascuabrillante

Voyage d'Hermes is my first Hermes I've ever tried and my first scent by Ellena. I got this after falling in love at first sight with the bottle and because I wanted to feel as luxurious as the brand. From the bottle, the bitter citrus is almost overwhelming--it's a manly, spicy, green citrus and reminds me a bit of pine sol. After a few short moments on my skin, it opens up to reveal a very pretty floral hiding beneath it. The citrusy-woody-floral combo is very pleasant and takes me to some sunny spring morning. In terms of color, I smell a chartreusy lime green followed by almost carnation pink. It almost clashes, but I like that. However, from such a luxury brand and from such a notorious nose, I must admit I was "underwhelmed" in terms of sillage and longevity. I want an Ellena to be my signature scent, but this one doesn't quite make the cut.

Elaborating of the topic of perfume is like reckoning of magic. Even if someone does not believe in magic, she or he is carrying a sense of fear towards it. Perfumes are most of the time relating to human souls in just about the same manner.
A perfume, liked or dislike, touches us from the inside of our beings. A perfume makes you feel something, be it good or bad. Perfumes are designed to affect your internal sense of mood; they are made to alter or even create your mood and sense of momentary being for certain time... From this perspective, perfumers are giant mood creators; or even souls' 'players'... So, should we talk about perfumes superficially anymore. For instance, if a perfume touches your inside creatively, remember not only the notes, but also the soul who designed it to delight you from innermost.

Underroot

To start with . I seriously feel ellena need to retire now. I find this fragrance as well advertised but lacks a character and it doesnt last long . They made a decent bottle for sure but it only smells of cardamom throughout and gets really repulsive to start with like synthetic material in towel soap .
I find it too expensive in vain . Some people say sophisticated . I dont think so . I find its deo spray better and even its shower gel is good . I will rate 5 out of 10 as the bottle looks good .

word-doctor

In her classic Cuisines of Mexico (1972), Diana Kennedy decries some things that American cooks do to Mexican dishes: drown them in shrill "chili" sauces, coat them in melted cheese, etc. One other? The tendency to overuse cumin, especially when not realizing that generic "chili powder" often already HAS cumin. The word she used to describe the resulting note is "sweaty."

I really, really wanted to love Voyage, but instead of cardamom I got a sweaty cumin note that detracted from the overall experience. I purchased a sample from a reliable source after enjoying a card sample. But on my skin in cool to warm weather it was not a success. Average sillage and longevity.

Scent: 4/10
Sillage: 5/10
Longevity: 5/10

Shaheen

A creamy lemon and grapefruit that smells rather Mediterranean to me. Cardamom adds some wamth. Reminds me of being on vacation. Perhaps that's why it's called "Voyage." Clever title, nice fragrance.

giedriusva

Very poor longevity. After 2 hours I could barely detect it. Too bad since it is a pleasant parfume, less "earthy" than the rest of Hermes for men.

Andi Rrr

Smells like a gin and tonic. Classy and a little rough around the edges, just like a man should be.

Bartdino

Declaration, Terre d'Hermes...Voyage I really like and appreciate Mr. Ellena works but....maybe needs new inspirations...

viridian

Love this! A must try if you like cardamom. When it was released I had a spray and returned to work afterwards. Kept getting little wafts of clean, warm spice all afternoon. I find this wearable year round - the fresh citrus and cardamom work in the warmer months and the spicy, woody notes when it's cool. If you want something a little richer the parfum version has more musk and the addition of amber. Both are gorgeous scents!

bobosan336

A voyage to a cardamom bush which lasts 30 min and costs $60.

A lot better than my previous trip with the same company which took me to the terre of rotten oranges and decayed vetiver...

DaZeD

It took me some time to fully appreciate this classy scent, but now i can't go without it.

It's perfect to wear in warm weather, you want to feel classy but don't want to stand out too much, you just like to feel fresh and classy, then Voyage is just perfect.

It's not overpowering, not offensive, but still unique at the same time.

It takes a very special kind of balance to make a unique scent so versatile.

It's probably one of my favorites.

Phantosmia Bella

A really nice scent, very spicy and peppery, unisex in an excellent way.
But somehow there is a typical tone to all Hermes perfumes, a base scent that is similar in all of them and gives me an annoying headache...

Such a pity, as I really like the scent.

longevity is good and sillage moderate.

Cassiano

The perfumer Jean-Claude Ellena uses travels as inspiration, a state of mind. You can see this in several fragrances from the brand.

In this fragrance, there's something located between peace and freedom, represented in the ad campaign by the encounter between the White Dove and the wild horse, which runs through several landscapes. Some say the bottle was inspired by a pocket magnifying glass, with its container in aluminium, but I own another perception, because I can only see the modernity of USB flash drives that are sold in this same style. The high-tech side speaks louder this time, though both are portable and made to carry on trips. Mere coincidence.

It counts on citrus (amalfi lemon) and spicy notes (ginger, cardamom and coriander), in the output; Green notes, Hedione (chemical compound that has floral nuances) and tea in the heart; Woody and musky notes, reinforced by the presence of Iso E Super (chemical molecule that has nuances of cedar, vetiver, crystalline and slightly ambery aroma) in the base.
It's another unisex fragrance and the results demonstrate diverse experiences, mainly, on the skin of women. On my skin, it has a great citrus output, which only grows to a more synthetic aroma with soapy aspect. I've seen many comparisons with Déclaration, by Cartier, but I don't agree, because the outcome of both, at least on me, it is not similar. In my perception, it remembers more the elegant and simple style of Bvlgari Pour Homme.

It has a very poor sillage, but it lasts forever. I can see this fragrance as a wildcard for the warmer weather because it can be worn without fear and in several occasions.

gio

Bomb of freshness and elegance,so clean and earthy, you can smell every note alone....

Houdini4

I'm a little frustrated that there's fragrances I thought I'd posted reviews for, then when I check turns out I haven't! Nevermind.
Nothing to dislike here. Voyage D'Hermes is a classy scent a woody, musk, spiced citrus, reminiscent of Cartier Declaration with prominent cardamom and fresh citrus. I wouldn't have thought it to be everyone's cup of tea, but with the relative popularity of scents like Dior Homme sport lemon & spice is a popular combo. I'm a real spice fan and as such enjoy this fragrance. I don't think it's as intrusive as the Cartier and slightly more wearable. The verdict then? It doesn't inspire me but I'd wear it.
Great for spring and summer, Hermes deliver yet again.

acc

Great unisex fragrance which is slightly on the masculine side.
The juice is not synthetic nor chemical smelling, gives very great feeling of freshness and naturality.
This is a high class and easily wearable fragrance to all occasions. I would rate it 10/10 since there is nothing i would like to change about the fragrance. Very recommended for those that would like to have a high class scent that is easy on the nose yet projects good.

magrathea17

really sharp from the beginning, too masculine for me even though I was looking for something unisex...EdT gone on my skin within 3 hours, thus I consider it overpriced. what I really adore about it is the amazing bottle but it´s quite not a reason to purchase

CDGfan

I find it hard for a women to wear this primarily because the citrus and bitter cardamom notes give it a very masculine feel.

The fragrance takes me to Tea Plantations of Assam, spicy, rooty and wet.
Also reminds me of a garden after monsoon rains.

woodlandwalk

I wish they'd be more specific than 'spices' because I seem to get a distinct amount of nutmeg from this as well as green cardamom. It reminds me of Cacharel's lovely 'Pour Homme' with it's oily lemon nutmeg - but the slight aftershave feel doesn't put me off at all since I used to wear Cacharel sometimes.

Jean Claude Elena's ubiquitous sour grapefruit note is not very appealing to me. So the fact that amalfi lemon is substituted for grapefruit here makes this immediately more appealing.

aditya123

The cardamom is exquisite.
The Best Cardamom fragrance

xjulietdx

I received a small tester and I actually thought this was a mens fragrance! And I think that isn't that strange because a guy can pull this off very easily. All with all this may seem a simple fragrance but it isn't at all. It smells really natural and fresh which would be perfect suitable for every occasion. I'm not thinking about getting a full bottle but it's a pleasant surprise.

patxaran

@Yohji: "Sagittarius people association". Well here is one to confirm your theory...
I happen to have both small quantities of Voyage EDT and EDP. One day I tested them on either arms to compare which side I might like better. Very difficult! In a nutshell, they are definitely related but still different enough. EDT comes across way more citrussy than the EDP, in one word Gin & Tonic! I do not fully agree with people saying longevity is poor, however I cannot say whether the EDT or EDP lasts longer, they just carry a different feel for me. In fact, the EDT seems to have one particular component that really seems to make it cling to my skin like there is no tomorrow, could be the famous Iso E. I love both the EDT and EDP - perhaps the EDT is even more refreshing in summer so you could reserve the EDP for winter. EDP turns into a much more warm and ambery skin scent.

littlepepperz

Well, this is pretty incredible.
Unique. A very first fragrance that made me think that I would LOVE to smell it on a man. It's spicy and clean, that Hermes cologne note is present. But I love it on me instead ;)

The only scent that makes me think of Wes Anderson's movies, ('Darjeeling Limited', the opening scene in Paris), expensive (yet simple and organised) travel, and extravagant, 'member's club only' lifestyle that most of us are unlikely to have.
A very good selling point. The bottle is a work of art.

pavel.dumitrescu007

I love this fragrance! It smells so interesting, aromatic, spicy and cool! Just like a forest in the winter! One of the best unisex fragrances! Contragulations Hermes!

Ditta70

I'm just the opposite of scott6459, I love the opening of this fragrance above everything else about it. I adore the first moments of crisp cardamom an citrus and the dry feel of woods and tea at the back of my throat, mixed with the "almost sweetness" of the musk and hint of florals. I love this characteritic brush-stroke of Ellena: the "almost-sweetness" I detected in his other creations like L'Eau d'Hiver and Un Jardin Mediterranee (among others)...they seem to go towards sweetness with determined steps, just to stop before really getting there, I love the tension that this effect creates! I do enjoy this scent a lot, but I think I would enjoy it more on my husband than on myself. Bravo, Monsieur Ellena, once again!

BlueMoon

ROUGH TO SMOOTH VOYAGE

Opening was a harsh spicy lemon - definitely not my favorite fragrance combo.

Over time (quite a bit of time), it softened and allowed for some nice refined notes.

If I could just skip the opening and first hour - I'd be on board.

jmcs1984

Perfect mix, natural, warm, sensual, different

jhitt793

A spicy citrus opening, with mellow lemon and heavy dose of musky cardamom. There are other spices here too (pink pepper and thyme maybe?) which are blended together as one accord. There is a very subtle velvety rose to the dry down (imagine a lemon yellow rose), with warm woods (cedar?) resonating. Eventually becomes powdery and amber-like over time. This is a very warm, uplifting scent. I have noticed numerous reviews indicating best use of this scent for summer, perhaps due to the brightness of the opening Amalfi lemon. In contrast, the overall impression I received was one of an autumnal sunset. (43)

hansito

When I got this fragrance I was expecting something a little sweeter but it is very earthy, so I mixxed with D&G 10 La Roue De La fortune and BOOMMMM, stays in my skin forever and now has a touch of sweetness. love it that way!
Voyage fades away very fast by itself.

luvlyjoyce

Totally out of the box I am addicted to this smell. At first impression: herbal, spicy, lemony fresh, courageous, freedom, it smells natural, one of the most natural perfume I ever smelled reminds me of Aveda hair products but with more complexity. When the middle note sets in, I smell bittersweet ginger, comforting and powdery. I love that is it unisex, can totally be the perfume for a couple into each other, adopting this scent like their love. Unisex perfumery is an oxymoron, masculine and feminine. Both sex wearing it should be the active type close to nature, outdoorsy, I don't see coach potatoes wearing this. On a man I see a natural, smart, hipster, surfer type with a quiet personality, patient and kind to women with a soft side, yet confident of his masculinity, I also see it on a homosexual with an artsy side. If your macho skip this. I like the smell on a man mixed with its natural strong manly odours it accentuates/balance with his masculinity instead of overpowering it like boring musky man perfumes. On a women I smell confidence, sporty, none girly, wanting to stand out among other women, who got sick of floral and fruity scent wanting to be a new person, wanting to shock instead to attract(with common vanilla or sweet scents),and try different things maybe after a breakup and wanting to explore the world full of danger, therefore Voyager?

MsDana

This is a perfect summer scent for men, Fresh but not too sweet, I do not like it for myself or on other women, I definitely like this on guys only.

blueribbonbullies

When purchasing I didn't know that this was a unisex fragrance..I was going off reactions and reviews others had..and I'm learning to NEVER make my choices off others hah..this is EXTREMELY feminine..I could pull it off but goodness..my immediate thoughts went to my Mother and possibly giving it to my 10 and 11 year old Daughters..the catch is.......I'm CONFIDENT women will love it on me since it really carries no masculinity but I do as a man hah..I'm 5'11" 205lb and in NFL shape..I'm going to try this for a week on the beach and at some lounges and see how the ladies respond..however I believe ALL of Issey Myiaki will give the same metro sexual vibe but not be straight feminine..this should ONLY be classified as a woman's fragrance.

jamjazz

Very easy fragrance to wear, not provoking, no offense, no overwealming layers, which comes handy in summertime. I appreciate it a lot, but it is only suitable in hot season, for winter it becomes a bit too simple for my taste. All noble and refined still of course.

Bornthisfashion

I love this perfume, is something exceptional. It is one of my favorite men's fragrances. Its smell reminds me of good memories, like the summer, freshness, dreams, life.

hermes186

I bought this in haste thinking it would be as good as Terre d'Hermes. It's nowhere near as good. Very generic and a bit over the top. I finshed the bottle quickly and was glad to see it empty. It would be the first and last time. Better stick to Terre.

Mr. TomFordHermessence

If you can find a 3.3oz/100ml real bottle for around $60-$70 then it's highly worth it. Overall, the sillage on skin (0-10) is about 5.5, longevity on skin (0-10) is about 6, and projection on skin (0-10) is about 6.5. On the flipside, if a man or woman wore this but spraying undergarments like tanktop or bra with 4-sprays and 2-sprays behind each ear; WATCH OUT!!! Everyone will love crossing paths with you cause it's that darn amazing.

Clean scent with a powdery citrus, some spices, and a light-woodsy accord, hardly any floral at all, but if you sniff around long enough a person can sense a ginger note (maybe) although its not listed.

As far as people stating synthetics like comments regarding Hermes-Voyage eau de toilette; For the record, I own creed, cartiers, real aged oud attars, tom ford private blends collections, and few other worthy scents... Not by a long shot is this a terrible fragrance. Im actually on my 2nd bottle in 2yrs and its enjoyable.

Remember its all depending on the method of application. Highly concentrated HARSH-CHEMICAL scents will last longer on the skin and no telling whatever else its doing too. Hermes is not a seller of harsh-chemicals and therefore expect to apply this on undegarments such as tank-tops and bras for longer wear. In addition, fragrances react different depending on weather (cold-cool-warm-hot) and body temperture.

*hope thats not too long! :)

Voyage d`hermes is a woody fragrance with fresh and citrus-fruity overtones. It is a simple, subtle and very well composed fragrance.

Main top note consists of angelica leaves and citruses, the middle is juniperberry, and the base notes are mix of cedarwood, sandalwood and white musk.

The most prominent note in Voyage d`hermes is Juniperberry, althought nobody mentioned it.It is real smell of juniperberry.Very natural,I can claim this because I had a lot of opporunities to memorize this smell as i was picking juniperberries from the nature almost every summer.I know the nature very well as it is part of my life.I live near mountain and often go picking different kind of herbs.Voyage d`hermes is nature in a bottle fragrance. When I smell it, remaind me of the smell in the morning when a go trought junipers to pick the juniperberries.

Slightly wet herbs, slightly earty, the smell of juniperberries and the smell of juniper nidels and the air in the morning sun. And, just add water when you are thirsty and that is Voyage d`hermes.

This fragrance for me is pretty original on it`s own.It doesn`t last long, the same as the moment in nature doesn`t last long.It is meant to energise you and resfresh your sences, it is not a sillage monster to go clubbing.Voyage d`hermes is to enjoy the nature. To have part of nature always with you.To love the life.

I highly recomend Voyage d`hermes to those people with deeper soul and introspection, who often find the joy in small things and moments in life.

crunkabortion

I don't know where that note breakdown comes from, because that's not what I get out of this at all. Basically it's a two-stage frag for me. Up top, I get a bunch of aquatic notes (calone). Pretty decent quality, but nothing amazing. Underneath that, vetiver. Haitian, I think. It's a high quality vetiver, but when you drown it in calone it comes out smelling like Encre Noir Sport.

Not a fan.

Mellyhelly

Voyage d'Hermes is a weird scent for me. It's not my usual ultra-feminine floral type, but it's very interesting and somehow comforting.
It's true as said before that it really reminds of Cartier Declaration or Eau de Cartier or some Hermes fragrances.
They all have something in common with a citrus-aromatic opening as if lemon and herbs wear crushed together, then spices like cinnamon or cloves but quite diluted, not too much East-type then a woody base with lovely ambery tones or should I say synthetical ambery notes, only slightly powdery with an allure of woody fabric conditioner, it screams: "I'm coming out of the shower, worn a cashmere pull and a pair of black jeans and ready for you baby, but with class"
All in all is a very classical scheme for a perfume but with an eye blink to modernity and acceptability.
It's a kind of smell that has become kind of an acquired taste around and a safe smell, half warm half clean, cosy but not sexual and trans-gender.
Worn by a woman it gives some warmth without being too frilly or too femme-clichè.
Worn by a man is a style of non-aggressive rather intellectual man.

dasa

I dont get any cardamom from edt. Neither do my girlfriend, who also tried it. This starts out citrusy and woodsy. I was honestly hoping I would get more from this one, especially in the drydown. If you are a man, go for Cartier Declaration.

AveParfum

With such beautiful notes, I expected something a lot better. This is another watery, bland Hermes perfume, like Jardin Sur le Nil, another perfume with beautiful notes, but turns out very bland and watery. This EdT mostly smells like citrus. I smell cardamom only for the first few seconds, and I certainly don't get any impression that there is tea here. This smells similar to many other citrus/fresh perfumes and is pretty unremarkable. For cardamom and tea notes, there are many other wonderful options like Jacomo #8 and Malabah.

temporal

I love the androgenic nature of Voyage d`Hermes. This atmospheric fragrance suits both official and unofficial occasions, but still has its own cheerful character. It's relaxed yet energetic. It brings associations with a sunny pine forest by a waterfall.

It was quite difficult to choose between EDT and EDP. In EDT crispy atmospheric opening notes are long lasting, while EDP turns into cozy woody warmth within an hour. Both are inspiring and lively, but EDT is more energetic.

Fmcandy

I don't think Ellena has to work on longevity, Elixir des Marveilles is really long lasting. He is a great creator of subtle, delicate, exquisite scents. Many times that I was wearing Un jardin Mediterranee or Kelly Caleche, people ask what's that perfume so great and delicate. I love that!

wesleyhclark

Take a Voyage with Hermes! It goes on bright and citrusy like the cheerful start of a vacation but then almost entirely disappears a couple of hours later - like your excitement when you've discovered the Carnival cruise ship you've booked passage upon developed power and waste disposal problems.

Voyage comes in a clever swivel travel bottle that you can throw into your luggage for the TSA employee to steal during his inspection. (I lost a point and shoot camera that way once.)

A nice fragrance, but, really, Jean-Claude Ellena, the perfumer for Hermes, needs to work on longevity. This juice is like their d'Orange Verte - a great, light, citrus scent but gone in no time at all. For the price point, this represents bad value for the dollar.

Second wearing: Here's how to make it last - don't spray it on your skin, spray it on your cotton shirt. I put it on at 6:15 AM this morning and I can still smell it at 3:15 PM.

pbluberry

This is very nice and very casual scent. The sillage is not very good but it's ok when you wear scent for yourself sometimes. It's spicy and fresh clean at the same time. I like this better than Un Jardin Sur Le Nil, Un Jardin Sur Le Toit, and Un Jardin Apres la Mousson. This is not as overwhelming and you can spray and spray and spray without feeling like you over did it. Sheer perfection!!

Lom

I really like the smell of this perfume, it's very sexy for men, seductive and at the same time reassuring - although it is not complex and doesn't change over time. The main problem with this fragrance is that it disappears after 5 minutes completely. people around me could not smell it on my skin. I had to go back to the store were I bought it and they were very friendly and allowed me to replace it. If you like the smell opt for the eau de parfum, which also has a weak silage but at least has a much better longevity.

The moment I donned Hermès VOYAGE D'HERMES, I was reminded of BVLGARI POUR HOMME, which I recently reviewed. They are both light and clean and tea-like, and quite pleasant, if not very thrilling. There's not a lot to say, to be honest, because the blend is quite subtle. To some, subtlety equates to boredom, but not to me. Sometimes I like a low-key, light but friendly scent such as this.

BVLGARI POUR HOMME and VOYAGE seem to use the exact same clean musky base, and it dominates both perfumes. The big difference to my nose is that VOYAGE offers the lightest dusting of cardamom, which is one of my favorite notes, so of course I like this composition better than BVLGARI POUR HOMME for that reason alone.

I have been curious about this creation since its launch but never had the opportunity to test it until today--I must have had "other priorities" during previous visits to Sephora, which is where I obtained this sample.

I would definitely consider adding a bottle of VOYAGE to my collection, and I admit to being swayed in that direction by the bottle itself, despite the fact that I probably don't need any more "twenty-first-century open-office-ready" scents. That won't prevent me from picking it up on sale at some point.

alexsagun17

i really like this perfume. fresh, the power of smell is long lasting. and feel like a boss every time you wear it.

valerie.barbin.5

I first smelled it on my father in law! The lavender was what captivated me. I had my boyfriend try it on and made him buy it at the duty free on our way home from Paris. Love this soft smell, that is not aggressive. I wish it would hold longer than 3 hours. I think I might try it on myself as it seems to be a unisexe perfume.

dark fragrance

the loveliest fragrance of my wardrobe.. just love the way it changes the notes and keeps you busy judging it all the day..

cr9578

Fresh and sophisticated unisex scent. Love it! My husband and I both use it. Warm Summer days on the Mediterranean.

Radiation

Something very very synthetic about this scent. I can't quite put my finger on it, but it smells like cheap soap you'd use to disinfect your counter tops. The dry down is pretty much the same as the initial spray, but less synthetic.

Here are the notes I get: lemon grass, amber, sandalwood. No tea, no green notes, no spice, or most of the other notes claimed to be here.

Sorry, but this gets a big thumbs down from me despite it's attempt to be unoffensive and easy to wear.

AnyaZ

I am a woman but I just ordered some of this on Ebay after obtaining a lovely sample at Sephora. Sephora had it as a "Unisex" scent and I agree. I like the fresh ginger and cardamom top note, pleasant, fresh, aromatic and energizing. I can't wait to wear this all day--may need re-applying to maintain the freshness, but is elegant and discreet enough to wear to work (office job).

A voyage to India
When reading reviews on Voyage d'Hermès it surprised me, how few people commented on the prominent cardamom note, which to my nose, overpowered all other notes.
I may confuse other notes with cardamom, but when referring to Voyage d'Hermès in the future, it will always remain 'that cardamom fragrance'.
The woodsy notes come up much later. Quite surprisingly, the tea note finally becomes dominant in the drydown! Quite the interesting chameleonic scent.
Too bad today is a cold Jnauary day, while this supposedly is a terrific one for a sweltering hot summer day. I won't have that option again as it will be sent out to another young parfumista, who would love to test it.
I may try to get hold onto another sample of this, as I'm a fan of tea fragrances: Green Tea by Elizabeth Arden has long been a signature scent.

Aredore

This is my first time reviewing and testing an Hermes fragrance. The quality of the ingredients really shows. This smells fabulously realistic, like a Mediterranean piazza on a mid-spring morning. There are clear notes of bergamot/citrus, coriander, lavender, and resins. It's really gorgeous and a smart, fresh floral for a man.

It bring to mind clear image of a man reading a newspaper on a street cafe in Milan. He is dressed sharply in a white pinstripe suit and two tone shoes with metal tips. Ice clinks in his glass as the gin and citrus cocktail, ribboned in yellow, green and orange fruit peels, slowly melts.
