Very nice soft vanilla musk, not worth the price tag though. I have some almost identical fragrances that cost half the price. I would t drop that much money on such a short lived vanilla fragrance. I need to over spray this quite a bit and then reapply so again not worth the price point…. Even though it is a lovely classic vanilla fragrance.

montee

Easy to wear DELICATE vanilla bean elevated by musk.

This isn't the sugary vanilla or juicy vanilla or any of that nonsense, very balanced, harmonious, subtle, non-cloying, warming, inviting, decadent yet clean vanilla. Lasts and latches onto the skin, imbuing your body with vanilla. Surprisingly all season.

That's as far as it goes... a simple natural smelling vanilla that isn't punchy or strong, if you wanted something more complex/ rich/ punchy, then I highly do not recommend you get this.

QbanoHavano7

Just like BlondeAmber said, I strangely and unfortunately get a banana smell from this! Someone said it’s because of the musk… Idk, because Nemat’s Vanilla Musk smells beautiful and I don’t get banana at all from that.

Plaid_Sky

Just smelled this pricey fragrance for the first time and was surprised at how identical it is to a Vanilla perfume that can be obtained for under 30 bucks. That perfume is L'aromarine Vanilla.

FleurDeLis69

Umm.... intoxicating. Don't need to spray a lot to get a very natural smelling vanilla scent bubble. It's like sugar in a bottle. It's definitely hard to do vanilla well and this does the job without falling into synthetic territory. Can still be a bit irritating to sensitive sinuses, but not by a lot. It's hard to describe. It clouds around you like the smell of vanilla wafts outside of an ice cream shop. If you've ever walked past a Salt & Straw shop, you know what I'm talking about. This is that, without smelling too much like food, but for your body.

Smells exactly like a vanilla waffle cone. On its own it can smell a bit cloying. Great layering/cuddle scent.

blondeamber

This fragrance turns so weird on my skin. I don’t get it. At first it smells like a lovely vanilla, but my skin chemistry destroys this within a few minutes. It starts smelling like an overripe banana peel that should’ve been thrown away yesterday. This is why I never blind buy, but I absolutely understand that people love this one when it does work with their skin chemistry.

mollipop

The warmest blanket of creamy vanilla. The musk is balanced nicely and not overpowering at all. It's more like an aura than a perfume. Can't wait to float around in a cozy vanillic scent bubble.

BunnyVanille

Top notch vanilla. Starts with smooth vanilla and ends with sweet and smoky caramel, coconut milk. Someone say this is the vanilla queen-which I agree. Your highness, I'm at your service!

cabu

Smells like vanilla extract and sugar cane. Completely unisex, not strictly for women. Great longevity but not so great sillage, nice scent 7/10

Peyton7127!

Absolutely love ! Hands down one of the best straight forward vanillas I have ever smelt . This is what I mean when I say I want a true vanilla perfume . Very creamy and smooth . High quality vanilla . My only complaint is usually with gourmand vanillas the longevity and projection is poor and with this price point I wish the bottle was atleast bigger .

aromaarchitectusa

A sensational vanilla; really especially yummy. When my bottle arrived I could hardly smell it. After some months on the shelf it matured and blossomed. Its in the permanent category - I'll always have a bottle of Tihota on my shelf. Why? Because I love vanilla and its the best in its category. About the longevity: over-spray it (5 on each side of the neck) and you'll be getting compliments all over the place. Keep this for the winter months, it'll warm you right up.

disco1970

Linear musky Vanilla. Perfect everyday fragrance. A safe blind buy. You really can’t go wrong with this.

Diablomoni

I love it. But it doesn’t last sadly at all. It lasts less than a body mist. Not sure if it’s just my bottle.

tilly222

So delicious! Definitely a top tier vanilla. There’s a faintly sugary quality to this. Not overpoweringly sweet, but the faint sort of sugaryness that you pick up from a baked good.

My boyfriend told me I smelt like honey biscuits/cookies in this, and I think that’s a pretty apt description. While there’s not a particularly strong honey note, it does give that vibe. Really pleasant and non synthetic!

confetti.mu

Holy grail, top tier, crème de la crème, vanilla of all vanillas; ladies and gentlemen: ✨️Tihota✨️

This is luxurious, warm, cozy, delicious, slightly toasted, true vanilla. It is sweet without being cloying or headache inducing. It's non offensive. It's linear, but the musk gives it this toasty warmth and complexity.

Tihota smells like real authentic top shelf vanilla extract (I bake alot, and real vanilla is probably one of the best smells ever!). Pure vanilla is unisex and this is unisex IMO. People may complain about the price, but to me it's worth it! Its a luxury, not some dollar store body spray! Finding an authentic smelling vanilla fragrance is so hard to come by since the market is flooded with so many synthetic smelling vanilla fragrances because clearly a genuine vanilla scent is challenging to do right. You do really get what you pay for. Francis Kurkdjian is such a king of perfumery!

Since it is a linear vanilla perfume, it is also amazing to layer. I love layering Tihota with my other fragrances. I use Tihota as a base and then spray my other perfumes. It's a really great way to elevate and create your own signature scent. Of course, it's beautiful to wear on its own too.

Honestly, once I smelt Tihota, all other vanilla fragrances smell like trash to me now lol. I will always have a bottle in my collection. It's a staple! 🍦

Xoxo.

2bClare

Super vanilla. Vanilla extract. Comforting and familiar not at all complex. Moderate longevity and sillage. I find it a bit boring on its own but could see layering it, however it’s expensive and as others have mentioned there’s probably cheaper options for that purpose. If someone gave it to me though I would definitely keep it and save it for days I need a little comfort.

naterían

This fragrance is nice. But for such a high price point, I don't think this is a smart buy. This is a really nice vanilla with decent performance and a nice hit of musk. But that's all it is. Nothing about this fragrance really justifies the price point. This smells just like Nemat's Vanilla Musk to me, yet it is over 10x the cost, and doesn't perform that much better. Don't get me wrong this smells great, but not $200 good. If you like this fragrance, I would reccomend buying something like Nemat's Vanilla Musk instead and save the money for something better. Commodity's Gold Expressive is a similar price point and is a much much better fragrance IMHO. 6/10 overall, smells great but the price is ridiculous for what it is.

Diamiadan

Selling my bottle or ready to swap. Dm me

Faeriecoma

Something about this is like butter and vanilla. It’s the musk that smells buttery. It’s a vanilla lovers dream. It’s so simple and delightful.

rainfortheend

Light vanilla and honey. It's like diluted vanilla extract. It's not very potent-- not a dark vanilla that will cut through things if they're being layered. I'm getting a tinge of florals underneath -- orchid? It's nice but very sticky with the honey note and not a lot of complexity. Gentle Fluidity Gold ruined me for all other vanillas!

SOTH Tihota by Indult 5/5

First spray is super caramel warm vanilla, the mother to Bianco Latte. This is charming and calming. Not overbearing or with a sillage that announces your arrival 100ft ahead of time. I can see how it inspired the vanilla fad as of 2023/2024. It is pretty much perfect. Smells like a box of lucky charms. If Bianco Latte wasn’t in my collection, I would consider purchasing a decant.

Review is based on a free sample from Scent Bar. Wore at home.

Blizzie99

Smells exactly like Vanilla Musk by Nemat, and Vanilla Musk is way cheaper.

taropetal

There’s about 5 ml left in my bottle that I got years ago… this thing ages like fine wine. It is thick, resinous, musky vanilla extract. I know, I know, you can get this scent profile almost anywhere but the materials really shine here. As far as vanillas go I actually like the vanilla/musk combo least, but this is so good, so smooth, so perfect. Nothing synthetic here, nor harsh or out of place. There really isn’t much else I can add to the glowing raves. If you care about quality and are in love with vanilla, then this will be worth the price to you.

dbrii24

Rich, exquisite vanilla. Undisturbed and soft as only it can be -- a sensual decadence of an offering. One of my faves! If you're a vanilla lover like me you MUST experience this gem. I'm happy it exists.

Aromazeal

I finally found the perfect half to complement my Spiritueuse Double Vanille. This one being the lighter half, not in terms of strength, but mood if that makes sense.
It does reminds me of Solinotes Vanille, but done better. Solinotes having this very harsh alcohol opening, and the musk isn't as smooth as Tihota.

wxbycc

This is very vanilla. Like others mention, vanilla extract vanilla. Then it goes into those fluffy marshmallow notes with the likes of princess. I love the opening and the mid. Then it blends into so many similar fragrances. I know it’s stronger than bare vanilla body spray, what we all once knew as vanilla lace, and honestly this reminds me more of the vanilla lace from when I was a kid. It’s extremely diluted now. Anyway, I really like her. I haven’t compared her to Kyse vanilla bonbon, but I will once she arrives. I really would buy this if it were sold at the price point with 100 ml, but at 220 for 50 ml, I just can’t. As much as this could be my signature, she is just my bar vanilla, once vanilla lace with a fluffy more interesting opening and a little more oil. 🍥🧁🥮

FlowerSeeker

A little bit of musk and a lotta bit of vanilla! It’s simple but delicious.

Jess2345

It smells like a French Vanilla. I don’t like the musky base in this fragrance because it smells piercing to me. It doesn’t smell well blended on my skin.

edison.k

This scent left me haunted since 2016 … 🫠
It was late autumn 2016 , i was walking and a charming girl , dressed in black , black hair , black coat , black pants , black boots , black turtleneck , transparent lip gloss , light foundation , in her mid/late 20s , pass me by & she smelled so divine and i just got stuck!! 😦
I had to turn around quickly and i had to ask her the name of the perfume that she was wearing because i’m a perfume lover and i have a soft spot for vanilla perfumes. After i complimented her , of course(the least i could do :PP) , she told me the name and i wrote it on my phone because i never heard the name of the perfume.
The smell of Vanilla in this is perfectly done , not too sweet or overwhelming , it’s creamy , soft , divine , alluring , cozy etc. 🌟🌟🌟
I forgot the name of the perfume because my phone was damaged couple weeks after this episode but i recover the data 2 weeks ago just to find the name of the perfume that haunted me since 2016 & will keep me haunting 😜😜
This was the first & last time that i smelled “Tihota” in my country , maybe because it’s old , i can’t find it in the perfume stores or the main reason most peoples here are not “perfume maniacs”
I think i don’t need to imagine a type of person who could wear or how could wear this scent , the girl fulfilled my imagination as i described it up!! ❣️
I remember that she said that i made her day and of course she made mine too! ☺️

nurtenka

To me, that's the ultimate, most luxurious vanilla fragrance.
It's gourmand, very strong, just one spray will last a few hours.
Perfect for a romantic date night in a fancy restaurant.

Don't be fooled by some commented saying it's just vanilla... It's a SPECIAL one!
It's not one of those artificial vanillas you find in cheaper perfumes.

I didn't know about this gem, until I was sent a sample years ago.
My initial reaction was "OK, same as Lira"... but then I sprayed it on my wrist and I couldn't stop sniffing it.
If you get a sample give it a try at night, or on a colder day.
It smells better and better with every passing hour.
I also own Lira, which I love, but somehow they're different.

lyhtac

The most luxurious vanilla scent I tried. One of my top three gourmand scents.

muskaddict

Layer this with Minuet et Demi and be prepared to have people all over you. Tihota gives MeD that more feminine edge and also amplifies it (its notoriously fleeting). The two are a match made in heaven.

chibiamelie

This perfume has ruined me. It’s so overpriced for the amount of perfume you receive. That said, now that I’ve purchased a full bottle, I’ll never be able to not go without a bottle in my collection.

Tihota Indult is a vanilla musk. That’s it. Simple, yet such a solid perfume to own. It’s not trying to be super sweet. It literally smells of vanilla extract and clean musk. The musk took a while for me to tease out, but after wearing multiple times over the past few weeks, musk is what hooks me and keeps me coming back for more.

I recommend wearing this by itself if you’re feeling like you need a simple smell. I also recommend layering it with something that needs a seemingly subtle “oomph” of vanilla added to it.

In the end, even if your partner/family member/friend already has a bottle, you can do no wrong by buying this as a gift (as long as they haven’t expressed utter loathing towards it). If you have the money and the proclivity towards vanilla scents, it’s an expensively safe blind buy. Keep in mind the EXPENSIVE part.

Good luck to anyone who decides to invest in this fragrance. May the fragrance gods have mercy on your wallet’s soul.

VictoriaN2023

Incredible! No alcohol, floral, boozy smell in the first spray to the dry down. It stays a delicious vanilla that’s not too sickly sweet. However, it smells almost identical to Nemets Vanilla Musk which is 1/8th of the cost.

Hotcoon

Musk and a toasted sugar note in the very beginning - that's what made me purchase it right away in one of the Lisbon's fragrance shops few years ago. And after a couple of hours it dries down to the most beautiful vanilla scent I've ever encountered. Perfectly wearable throughout the whole year. This is definitely my all-time favourite!

FreeBeing

Maybe I got too excited about this. What a super hard letdown. It's not bad but... it's way too pricey, IMO, for the scent, longevity, sillage - everything. I do love powdery scents and love, love, LOVE vanilla This was not enough of either. Don't get me wrong, the vanilla that I get is super lovely but it's just barely there. For the price (I got a sample, thank goodness), this is not what I expected. I have stuff from Target that smells better. Maybe if I could afford to drench myself in this, I'd be more impressed. Alas, I am a broke lass.

Storm1980

A straightforward yet delightful vanilla.

leahlzander

Vanilla extract and nothing else. This is an exact (and I do mean exact) dupe for Nemat Vanilla Musk, but at an astronomic markup. You almost have to admire the audacity.

thegoob

I picked up a sample of Tihota along with other vanilla samples, and I regret that I'm not nearly as impressed as other reviewers. To begin positively, it's certainly pretty novel. Unlike some vanillas which give extract, others that give play-doh, and others that run flora, Tihota smells like unbaked dough-- each time I go back in to smell it, that's the image that I get. Doughiness. Industrial baking. Super fresh vanilla bean scraped into sugar cookie dough. Then there's the intense muskiness, which I think chokes the vanilla bean a bit. Now that I've experimented a bit, I've realized the combination of pure vanilla bean and heavy musk doesn't appeal to me, and it's inescapable here, as Tihota is fairly linear. That, and it smells a lot like Vanilla Bean Noel! If this is out of budget for you and you enjoy the qualities I've described, try VBN. Otherwise, just not for me.

nisarsarah9

A friend made me try a dupe of this which was much reasonable and had great projection and longevity. The name is 'Vanillac Dreams' from Dua Fragrances. It is literally a treat for vanilla scent lovers and so affordable. Must try!

partypooper

I used to work at a super fancy restaurant and this is what my hands smelled like after scraping a big bunch of vanilla beans with a knife. Very straightforward, real, vanilla goodness. Not much musk at all on me. It then smells a bit warmer and stays that way until it gets quiet and becomes a skin scent. While it lingers it stays smooth and never loses that richness. I get perhaps 4-5 hours with it before I have to really huddle close to my arm detect it. It's linear, pricey, and simplistic on paper, but I haven't found anything else that compares.

Sophia97

Every time I wear it, I get constant comlpliments and who doesn't receiving compliments?! It is beautiful vanilla fragrance on it's own and for layering as well. I got Tihota as a sample and immediatley thought of having this in my collection and life but there are two things that disappoints me, first one is, I feel like the smell disappears in such short time and second, the PRICE! I just wish the price would be a little less and reasonable enough to be bought for people like me.

dilfluver777

drive to your local supermarket and get a fresh box of lucky charms. open it up, rip the bag, and take a big deep whiff of the cereal. that is what this fragrance smells like. it’s absolutely gorgeous. it has that dry wheat like texture to it with the sticky sweetness of the marshmallow. its sweet but not sickly; it’s actually pretty faint. very interesting stuff

loliirain

I recently ordered a bunch of vanilla perfume samples and this was actually my least favorite. I don’t enjoy the vanilla musk combination in the opening. It reminds me too much of Victoria’s Secret vanilla lace and the nemat vanilla musk perfume oil. Even though Tihota is high quality, the similarities to vanilla lace makes me unsure of it being full bottle worthy. It may sound contradictory, but I can see why this is considered one of the best vanilla perfumes. The vanilla dry down is delicious. Straightforward, pure golden vanilla. Longevity is excellent, low-medium projection.

Idealauras

The one!
….This will upset a lot of people; but I wish more houses would release a simple vanilla/benzoin/musc scent.
I’ve worn Tihota for so many years and I have turned so many people on to it.
It is great for layering.
If you’re willing to pay for it, that’s your choice. I wore this on my wedding day and so did one of my friends I gave it to, and I think of it as the most “sacred” fragrance in my collection for that reason.
It’s everything I want and nothing I don’t!

yeesa_

Smokey vanilla. its underwhelming for the price point and doesn't project much

Coffeeandscents

The perfect every day vanilla! It smells like vanilla extract, sugar cookies, musk and a hint of smoky palo Santo wood, which is a scent note on the brands website. It is a vanilla lovers dream, simple but perfect for every day, and amazing for layering. Moderate projection and longevity, it gets richer and deeper as it ages. I always want this one in my collection!!! Is it expensive, yes, but made with high quality ingredients!

toxictorrent

This is the smoothest vanilla perfume I've ever sniffed. It turns powdery on my skin, as a lot of perfumes do. Smells like walking around the house after I just did my makeup— there's a faint powdery smell of makeup hanging in the air, overshadowed by the smell of vanilla cupcakes baking in the kitchen.

It's a bit more expensive than other vanilla perfumes, especially those with more notes but I think it's definitely worth buying especially if youre a gourmand lover who has the budget for it (which I don't so I'm sticking to a decant 😭🙏🏼).

Deppaholic

Love it! Smells like pure vanilla from the bottle, with a tiny touch of musk to make it last forever. I want a vat of it. Best vanilla I have ever tried. And I will say, I have a lot of gourmand ones, but Tihota is just so much more sophisticated. It's lasts all day on me, more of skin scent. I don't have a bottle, so I can't speak of spraying it on my clothes, but I bet it does have the Star Trek effect of "cling-ons". Hehe. If you want a gorgeous vanilla that is not so gourmand, then try this. There is a whisper of sweet floating throughout the wearing. But I do not diss the gourmand ones I have so many, and love them also. Give it a try, you might just find you love it too.

_NicoleNonya

Tihota is a sweet soliscent of vanilla and sugar and musk. It's unisex, leans feminine, to me, nothing more than a gourmand layering scent. It's versatile, worn day or night, any season.
I prefer a sharper less sweet vanilla. After reading other reviews, I wonder what vintage batches of Tihota must have smelled like. Modern Tihota is synthetic in the dry down. It doesn't induce sneezing, so that's a positive.
I put a dab of real vanilla extract on my other wrist to contrast and compare, to me, Tihota isn't as realistic as some state. It's not bad. For the price Tihota goes for, I'd rather get Vanilla Barka.
To me, Tihota is better than Vanilla Love by Jimmy Choo, sweeter than Burberry G-ddess, doesn't have as much character as YSL's Baby Cat. but if you're looking for a straight sugary vanilla, this is it.

cyclone1391

Very underwhelming. For all the notes listed on the indult site, what I get is burnt sugar, doll head, and some muskiness. Very plasticky on my skin aka doll head. I much prefer Celine black tie for a vanilla. BBW and VS body mists perform better than this scent. Does remind me of Jovoy fire at will in the dry down which I also think is overrated. The dapper dupe of this fragrance is identical.

RaggedyAnn

Not what it used to be. It's less complex and has far less staying power than the original recipe. Still it's a nice balanced gourmand vanilla. Soft serve. Generic. But who doesn't want soft serve over home churned once in awhile?

yongeun

This is a scent of freshly baked vanilla pound cake or madeleine. Really can't stop sniffing. Love it♡

Bibi16

Beautiful creamy vanilla extract! Try andromeda’s moon version it’s beautiful and lasts very well! Dapper’s version is great too, it is sweeter and less musky.

karenli19

I don't get any musk or powdery notes at all, just pure vanilla extract, rich vanilla icing. Bath and Body Works has a Vanilla Buttercream hand cream that smells identical to this. I wouldn't call this a grown up or expensive scent, it's far from it. I can picture young teenage girls really enjoying this. I'm 22 and I think even I'm too old to wear this scent out in public. The lasting power is good, so I'll reserve this as a bedtime scent.

AkaNeri

Really nice vanilla, pure vanilla extract + musk. It's nice, crowd pleaser, not too loud (and not long living on my skin), but it's not worth the price. If it was priced differently, it might be holly grail vanilla, but if we want to take the price into consideration, I'll pass.
UPD: Somehow after I finished my sample, I realized I just need this fragrance! So now I'm a happy owner of the new bottle :) Am I still thinking it's too high priced? Yes, but I also think it's one of the best easy reaches vanillas :)

scnofthcrime

I was nervous to try this hyped fragrance because the people who don't like it tend to frequently comment that this smells like BBW Vanilla Bean Noel or VS Vanilla Lace. I notice and can't stand the artificial, plasticy tang of VBN and VL.

Vanilla is one of those simple, omnipresent scents that is none the less hard to get right in my opinion. Tihota absolutely nails it. This is the perfect pure vanilla. It has musk as an additional note, but I barely detect it on my skin. This smells full, round, and just *real*. There's nothing harsh, screechy, or fake smelling here. To me this is just pure vanilla, it doesn't smell like baked goods. It is so dang good and I'm glad I finally tried it. The lasting power on me is extremely good as well.

Laviejojo

This is vanilla. That's it. I use it to layer with other fragrances. I find it too boring to use on its own though.

honeyedflora

The vanilla here is truly lovely but there's too much ''clean'' musk that ruins the fragrance for me. The musk's strong and piercing that it breaks through the cookie vibes...

lavender_wind.

Beautiful vanilla, although, it projects quite mildly on me and becomes imperceptible after about 1-2 hours. That said, it is still beautiful and unique. Very much a love.

Selenity

Not my favorite vanilla. The musk goes one of two ways. You either get a strong banana smell or fishy smell. It is strong and has good projection but I won’t be buying a bottle.

Princessy

Musk and vanilla combo, that is very similar to the popular Bare Vanilla from Victoria's Secret. For the price and mid performance of Tihota, you'd better get the VS body spray.

I could not see how anyone can dislike this scent, it's a simple vanilla that will probably work for anyone, as is gourmand but not overly sweet thanks to the musk.

calyx93

The musk really makes the vanilla magic here - the deepest and softest of hugs that lasts forever.

rita.zaretskaya

Very simple but very pleasant vanilla.

Bondno9girl

I blind bought this because I love vanilla and adore musk and this is a smash hit! Everything I wanted all my other vanillas to be. Made by the same guy that made baccarat rouge 540 so I had to try it and boy does he have a nose for perfume. This is the perfect sugar cookie vanilla with musk and the airyness of it is just beautiful. I have bought 2 dupes after I bought tihota just so see how close they are and nothing comes close to the blend and airyness. I dont care how many other perfumes smell similar because they will never be this refined and magical. FYI she doesn't project super far but is rather close to your body and I can smell it with no problem when I move around or when someone comes in for a hug they will smell it. This one makes my boyfriend want to sit a little bit closer to me in the bed 😉 I feel like this is a safe blind buy if you love vanilla and musk. 10 out of 10 always will have Tihota in my large collection.

kittycarter

This is in my all-time top 5 favorites. It's gorgeous and lasts a long time on my skin. This has been my biggest compliment getter ever. I love it and my kids love it. 10/10.

kmeid2

This is delicious but it lasts about 15 seconds on me :-(

Sreza7

I love this fragrance! It’s the perfect sweet vanilla. I love the musk that’s in here too. But unfortunately I cannot justify buying this when there are other fragrances and lotions that smell indentical for a lesser price. I have EOS vanilla cashmere lotion that’s an exact dupe.

amanda0727

Smells exactly like vanilla frosting (the synthetic kind). I can see why ppl love it. For me, not worth the price at all. Although, I recently purchsed Fire At Will and Tihota is miles better.

Update: Price of this is so much better at Jovoy, so i bagged a bottle. No regrets! This has grown to be my holy grail alongside Escapade Gourmande.

aibhlin

bit of a sour opening, but quickly dries down into a simple but delicious sugar cookie scent. it does develop a slight smokiness after a few hours on me.

Flowerfruit

This is a simple but intoxicating vanilla fragrance that’s warm and cozy. It’s amazing on its own and also perfect for layering!

mad_mal

I get that "waffle cone" smell at first sniff. I also noticed a "smokiness" in it... smokiness that's similar to Lira. Tihota is not a cloyingly sweet, suffocating vanilla. It's light and warm. A bit powdery, and a bit smoky - like I'm smelling a smoky vanilla biscuit. It's really beautiful.

marilyn62

I had put off purchasing a bottle of Tihota for the longest time because I had tried dupes of it and they didn't really wow me. Then I decided to get a sample of the real thing. I tried it on my skin and after a few minutes, I could smell the most delicious sweet vanilla that reminded me of sugar cookies (and, not gonna lie, Vanilla Bean Noel, but wayyy better)! I kept smelling my wrist for hours and finally decided I had to have a bottle. After receiving my bottle and actually spraying Tihota on for the first time, I was over the moon it smelled so good!! After a while thou I couldn't really smell it, but then I would move around and get a whiff of airy sugar cookies and I knew it was still there. It likes to play peek-a-boo! This is the only perfume I own that does this to me as my other perfumes (even my vanillas) I can smell consistently through out the day. So interesting! As a sweet vanilla perfume lover I can't believe that I slept on this baby for so long. It is quite expensive for only 50ml but I have plenty of perfumes I rotate so my Tihota will not need to be replaced for quite some time ;)

shoujomarina

a perfect vanilla. has that cupcakey creamy vibe to it. its not in my price range at the moment but eventually i’d love to own this, as a vanilla girl. i already have other scents that get close enough to this…

i will say though, at least with my specific sample, there is a slight metallic tinge to it. not sure ab why

Belleprincess1

The BEST vanilla to date. Period

rangela71

This is not your synthetic, plain, mainstreem vanilla. It’s pretty straightforward and simple, but not boring by any means. It’s dull (but in the best possible meaning), cosy, warm, caressing. It’s like a hug. Resembles very much to Absolute Aphrodisiac, which is the sexiest perfume I ever had.
The Tihota, I never wear it alone. It’s perfect for layering, gives a nice, lactonic, warm, sweet background to other gourmands or florals. (Delina, Rose d’Amalfi, Black Opium, Diorissimo, for example).
Love it.

Wendy.Kroy

When Francis Kurkdjian launched the line and the website in 2006, there were only 2 notes describing Tihota : vanille et muscs en fusion, or something along those lines. That's why there are only those 2 notes listed here.

There were only 999 bottles produced and you got a member card with your purchase, which allowed you to reorder the perfume again and again.

cribbycrab

After sampling a ridiculous number of vanilla centric perfumes, I have now come to the conclusion that this is THE ONE for me. I want my Vanilla warm, sweet, lactonic and not trying to be anything else besides Vanilla. This hits all the spots. Also the notes are incomplete in fragrantica, as per their website -
Notes: Highest grade Tahitian vanilla, cane sugar, almond milk accord, Tonka bean, white musk, amber.

markvel

Absolutely beautiful !
To my nose it's almost identical to Vanitas by Profumum Roma (Tihota was first released)
Tihota is little bit fuller and thicker and don't have that dusty paper quality like Vanitas
Anyways this one is no brainer it's just beautiful sweet musky vanilla and that's it

Also when I tried all 5 of their fragrance somehow it really reminded me of the style of the perfumes created by Profumum Roma. All of them have that richness and something in their DNA that reminded me of PR...

Jazz93

This is the best vanilla perfume in existence. Many have tried to duplicate this 2006 release but none could come close. The natural smell of the highest grade vanilla is something I instantly feel in love with. I love vanilla perfumes and by far this is my favorite. It is so long lasting sweet and perfect. In my opinion the price is justified in the quality of raw materials used, the sillage, and the longevity. This a well worth the hype and you might find cheaper options but they will not really be comparable.

scruz.1

I am rarely tempted to buy a full bottle of perfume, and mostly get travel sprays or samples. I tried a little .7 ml sample of Tihota, and didn’t think much at first. Then it dried down and blossomed on my skin. I couldn’t believe the delightful but delicate dimensions. It smelled like sweet spun sugar with a hint of caramel and vanilla extract. As it continued to develop, I got a hint of smokiness, like that smell when the edge of a vanilla cake burns a bit onto the pan. I was so enchanted by this smell, I ordered this expensive 50 ml bottle the next day and now cannot wait for it to arrive. I’m in love. Still savouring the last few drops of my sample in the meantime.

Shaina87

I really like this vanilla. But imo it's overpriced for what it is and being it's only a 50ml bottle. It's a deliciously warm, sweet but not cloying, musky vanilla. The perfect vanilla for me. Performance is amazing but Kyse Bonbons a la Vanille smells very similar to Tihota on my skin. I own both and did a side by side comparison. They're both beautiful musky vanillas. I mostly use them for layering. But I'll reach for this when I'm in the mood for a cozy and warm vanilla to wear alone. and even though I think it's overpriced for the size, I'll still repurchase a bottle bc the performance is great for me.

ChocoLei

You definitely have to try it on skin and let it warm up for at least 1 hour before it gets interesting. Paper does NOT do it any kind of justice; it remains artificial, generic, uninteresting.

Right after being sprayed on my skin, it smells super similar to CSP vanilla dry down which I don't like anymore (when it comes to their EDTs, at least). On me, CSP vanillas smell like sweet carton. The end. I used to loved them, especially Vanille Coco and Vanille Abricot but now they just smell way too artificially sweet and carton-like-- even more so Vanille Abricot tbh. To make it short, I thought I was smelling Vanille Abricot when I had sprayed Tihota on me and I was sooooo disappointed. So I just went about my day and forgot about it.

If you smell it up close, it's nothing impressive. The magic happens in the air. I could smell how the air around me was turning sweet and mouth-watering, like a warm & delicious vanilla cloud. It was confectionery sweet but not overbearing. The confirmation to add it in my collection was when my mom stepped into the kitchen where I was, looked at the oven and asked if I was baking a cake lol.

Now, is it the end-all gourmand vanilla-centric fragrance? As of now, I wouldn't say so, at least not for me. Is it totally ground-breaking, unique, never done before? I'd initially say no, but tbh I need to try more popular vanilla fragrances before my final say. Can you achieve to smell like a delicious vanilla cake from beginning to end without spending 180€ for 50ml? Definitely. But will your scent cloud and trail be both as airy and dense, as smooth and delicate as Tihota? Maybe not. This is executed really well and after the first couple of hours it smells really realistic. It doesn't smell like perfume but it doesn't smelled unrefined either.

I'll definitely buy Nemat Vanilla Musk before committing to such a high price but if it doesn't smell as authentic to an actual vanilla cake as Tihota does, I'll give in and buy this (writing this literally hurts me).

I never had the chance to smell VS Vanilla Lace nor B&BW Vanilla Bean Noel, nor have I tried Jovoy Fire at Will on skin yet (but on paper, I thought this one was really interesting). However, I can tell you that Montale Vanilla Cake has nothing on this. Montale Vanilla Cake is synthetic-smelling from start to end. It can be of your liking and there's absolutely no shame in this, but it's the vanilla cake mix you buy in-store. Again, there is absolutely nothing wrong with this, I really like Vanilla Cake myself, but the quality is clearly incomparable with Tihota. Tihota is your home-made cake with real vanilla pods. It's very simple and straight-forward in its structure but the warmth of your skin and the projection are the key to unlock its magic. Don't try this while thinking of all the hype, try it for what it is: a high niche-quality gourmand vanilla.

Lastly, hot weather kills this one. They're not compatible. Tihota disappears in the hot summer heat.

almondluver1

After hearing about this famous (but expensive 😩) vanilla fragrance for years, I’ve finally gotten my hand on a sample!!! Main accords are vanilla, sweet, musky, and powdery, and the notes consist of only vanilla & musk. How odd lol. So as soon as I smelt this perfume, I recognized immediately that I’d smelt this exact DNA before *numerous* times.

To confirm my thoughts, I had my sister smell it and she said “Are you wearing Pink Sugar?” It doesn’t smell like PS, but I can see why she said that because Indult Tihota smells like super sweet & airy vanilla + cotton candy to me. In fact, it smells EXACTLY like Outremer Vanille and Solinotes Vanille (and 80% like Montale Sweet Vanilla but Montale has a bit more apricoty fruitiness to it). I own all 3 so I LOVE THIS DNA!! I 💯 can say I love Indult Tohota and it’s worth the hype for me. If I was rich, I’d totally get it but I don’t think it’s really necessary because (imo) it smells EXACTLY like Solinotes Vanille (smell it at Target, it’s gorgeous!) and Outremer Vanille, both of which are less than $25.

Pgdipoto

Sweet, silky, smooth, delicious, almost candy-like (in the best, most luxurious way)

Adjr1087

Today my coworker entered the office and said "it smells like vanilla cookies in here!"
That's me. I'm the vanilla cookies 🍪
Combo is Kayali Vanilla 28 layered with Indult Tihota. Vanilla layered over vanilla.
I asked her if it was too much... she said that absolutely not, that it actually smells reaaally good and she could see that perfume being called "Warm Vanilla Cookies" 🥰🥰

smccmurphy

Vanilla dollhead. Nice, but there are cheaper options. This pulls the same on my skin as Vanilla Dreams by be layered.

veronicaAvaa

best vanilla for layering! when i spray this on top of any perfume, it blends seamlessly into the one i’ve already sprayed. on it’s own it smells like bare vanilla from victoria secret but tihota is much better for layering if you’d like to add sweetness without altering the scent. when i used bare vanilla to layer, i could strongly smell bare vanilla and it usually overwhelms the original scent

linzertart

No doubt that this is a smooth, delectable, elegant vanilla. To me, there’s nothing to keep my interest, though. It doesn’t evolve to my nose. It doesn’t deepen or darken in any way, so I don’t feel it’s mature enough for me. One nice thing about it is that it doesn’t read too sweet or juvenile like a lot of sugary vanillas can and I find it truly unisex. I just can’t justify the price for a note I can experience at so many price points and approaches.

michellesuchang

Smells sweet and clean. A milky, buttery comfort without being cloying.

PerfumePonderings

This is a vanilla frosting type scent rather than a more realistic vanilla extract scent. I do not find this similar to Kayali Vanilla whatsoever. Tihota is ok at first but after a while on the skin it becomes unpleasant as it unfortunately takes on that dreaded plastic quality. Very similar to Vaniglia, which I personally could not stand. I agree with another reviewer who said that while someone with an experienced nose may enjoy aspects of this, to others around you this will likely just smell like B&BW Vanilla Bean Noel.

Jasmine92

This is the vanilla fragrance I prefer to use as the ultimate layering fragrance to truly just add a touch of sweetness to any perfume without totally changing the DNA of that perfume.

I like vanilla 28 (which everyone touts as the must-have vanilla layering frag), however, Tihota is gorgeous and so perfectly blended to where you don't pick up the individual notes as much as you do with Vanilla 28. Every time I layer a fragrance with Vanilla 28, it's like the fragrances are competing with each other, whereas layering with Tihota just elevates any fragrance with the light, airy sweetness you were craving. Every fragrance I've layered Tihota with has been a win.

Also, know that Tihota is not as simple as you think. It's made up of much more than just vanilla and musk notes. Fragrantica needs to update this page to reflect the notes listed on the Indult website.

MatchaCat

A very nice creamy white vanilla with slight musks in the background. One dimensional, simple but widely likable. Very wearable and office friendly. The vanilla is not a boozy or deep vanilla. It's got more of like a thick, creamy musky quality.

Smell: 9 out of 10
Longevity: 9 out of 10
Leans Feminine

For reference, I'm female.

aviegravy

completely perfect. when i was in middle school, i smelled bath & body works vanilla bean noel for the first time and became obsessed with it. i just loved the scent so much, it was my perfect vanilla. tihota is for 22 year old me what vanilla bean noel was for 12 year old me. in my mind, they smell the same, although i’m sure if i smelled VBN again i’d find that tihota is much higher quality. but it fills the same craving for me — the desire for the perfectly balanced, sweet, pure, comforting vanilla. this is a vanilla that the pretentious side of me doesn’t feel basic for loving. it’s just a masterpiece.

lessthanzero

Airy, electric, sweet, intriguing, flirty. It's got Francis Kurkdjian's signature all over it. It reminds me of making Rice Krispies treats - with the sticky mini-marshmallows melting/metastasizing against the sides of the steel pot, and the crackle/crunch of the puffed rice... It kind of gives me a headrush!

This sort of loud, crowd-pleasing, sweet, expensive fragrance is really not my bag. But like so many of Kurkdjian's fragrances, I can't help but to like it! The price is abhorrent.

4/5

Jaimielee123

I bought a bottle of this and I’m really struggling to find it anything but vanilla extract. There is nothing exciting about it. Just plain old realistic vanilla. That’s it. For the price… not worth it. Vanilla 28 is wayyyyy better. Layer with the hand cream or Vitoria secret vanilla lotion and that’s so much better IMO

LizDee007

My dream😍Tihota is simplistic, sublime and sophisticated. It may not be for everyone, but if you are gourmand leaning and looking for a cozy sweet linear vanilla, here it is. Pricey but that’s not a dealbreaker. I would highly suggest to get the discovery set from Lucky Scents or the website before purchasing FB🫶🏾

SaraZigova

It smells like simple vanilla,
Put some vanilla essence on your skin-> the same

mesalem

I received a sample of this and I agree with so many reviewers below that say this is a simple, sweet vanilla. More specifically, it does smell like vanilla ice cream. I don’t think it smells that close to Kayali Vanilla 28, which has a more pronounced booziness and brown sugar accord. I DO smell the close resemblance to BBW Vanilla Bean Noel, which I also own but don’t use much because of its plasticky undertones. Even though Tihota does not have that plasticky scent, it’s still too overpriced for what it is. I agree with others saying that it’s over-hyped because of MFK, and I don’t think it warrants the price tag. For now, l don’t think it’s FBW, but that may change in the future if I find myself craving straight-up vanilla and have way more money to burn lol :)

Update: after about 1.5-2 hours, Tihota smells almost exactly like BBW VBN. I'd sprayed Tihota on one hand and applied VBN lotion on the other. After about 4 hours and washing my hand a couple of times, I can still faintly smell Tihota but VBN is almost gone. So I guess Tihota has that going for it... but the difference in price is so unjustifiable. I don't get the many downvotes for VBN in the "this fragrance reminds me of" section. On me, they're extremely close.

VanillaReb

I have been wearing Nemat vanilla mist for at least a decade - I decided to try this after seeing rave reviews but it’s so similar to Nemats version that it’s not worth the cost. Nemats is actually a little better, in my opinion. Tihota smells a little more like sweet marshmallows whereas Nemats is more musky vanilla. I do love it and think it’s a great perfume though

Clairexoxo

When I first tried it I was disappointed as I found it boring and did not like the boozy hint that I was smelling. I tried it again a few weeks later and I LOVE it now. Presently, the boozy aspect has calmed down to my nose and I primarily smell a high quality straightforward yet delicious vanilla which has this transparency while having presence. I find it very pleasant and refined, but I can understand that for many it is not worth what it retails for and may come off as plain or not decadent enough. However, as a vanilla lover, this is what dreams are made of! I am so glad that I gave it a second chance

mandyads

Notes: Highest grade Tahitian vanilla, muscovado, cane sugar, cream, almond milk accord, Tonka bean, benzoin absolute, Palo Santo, white woods, white musk, amber.

On my skin, the palo santo and white woods peak through to give the sweet vanilla a slightly smoky feel. As the fragrance gets deeper into the dry down, the vanilla butteriness starts to creep in. It’s a solid unisex vanilla. The more you wear it, the more you will appreciate the small facets that pop out. It’s a very simplistic, but absolutely stunning vanilla.

I owned a bottle of The Dua Brand Vanillac Dreams first and actually prefer it to the original. I didn’t originally purchase it as a dupe - I just wanted to try a delicious vanilla or marshmallow from the brand and decided on it. Once I got a whiff is when I was inspired to get the original. It’s an extrait version that leaves the woods behind and amps up the sweetness. It comes off a bit more feminine and people often describe me as smelling like cookies or delicious. Price not factored in, I truly prefer Dua’s version. It opens up smelling somewhat like a vanilla marshmallow with a MILD banana essence (same type of vibe I get in the original); during the first couple of minutes, there is also a tingly sensation to my nose… almost like if minty were a texture. This dies down and the vanilla just becomes more and more dreamy. It lasts ALL DAY on skin and days on clothes. Being that I prefer the scent profile, the performance, AND the price… it’s a no brainer for me!

Sreza7

This smells too close to Vanilla Bean Noel from bath and body works. Yummy but too expensive.

aeharris

Not sure how this manages to smell thick syrupy sweet and light at the same time. Its very simple and delicious

aniamoe

I don't agree with the statement that this smells like Vanille Absolute by Montale. Compared to Tihota, Vanille Absolute has a very artificial twinge to it. Tihota is the most natural smelling vanilla I have come across so far. Better than Vanille2 and Vanilla 28, which it should be for the price.

Marie20707

Fragrantica needs to update the notes being that there are more than just two notes: Tahitian vanilla, muscovado, cane sugar, cream, almond milk accord, Tonka bean, benzoin absolute, Palo Santo, white woods, white musk, amber.

banjerine

Dark, gnarled husks of scraped vanilla bean, a smear of clotted cream, the smoky tartness of burning sugar—syrupy, viscous, so sharply sweet that it borders on acrid. Pastry paraphernalia left to bubble and burn in some Parisian bakery kitchen while the patissier and his dairy vendor carry on a prolonged episode of their affair in the pantry.

cookievanilla

Aahhh.... <3 Lovely Tihota, I'm a person that bakes often with real madagascar vanilla pods..I was looking for a perfume that lasts and does just that: this . is . it.

I know that I can spray it in the morning, after the whole day, it's still there, beautiful as ever. The next day I wake up, still enveloped by this eternal vanilla, my clothes smell like the vanilla too, this is my signature scent 100%. Decadently royal, perfectly balanced, amazing. I can compliment it all day to be honest. Whenever I decide to wear it, I just can't help but keep smelling my wrist again and again during the day. Anyone I show this fragrance to reacts happily surprised to how warm and wonderful it smells, just as smelling a beautiful fresh vanilla pod.

It is worth the price, as all other vanillas I've come across don't even compare, be it the silage, longevity, or purity of the vanilla smell, Tihota beats them all.
Recently, it's been giving me trouble because everytime I'm trying out a new perfume or smelling something new, I'm always thinking "yeah this one is nice, I like it.... but...ah, it's not - Tihota -", like, I know I'm just going to end up wearing Tihota at the end of the day.

Now, don't go around getting Tihota expecting anything else or any other notes, this is Vanilla, pure beautiful vanilla. It's there when you first spray it and there 24h later, so you have to like vanilla, and you have to like perfumes that don't vary with time. I love love love that it is consistent and stays the same vanilla, for me that . is . it . <3

Just as you'd expect with real vanilla, it is going to cost you more if you want the quality, the same applies with Tihota. I got 50 ml of this for Christmas last year, I keep it like a treasure, it's important to keep it away from the light, in a dark place for it to last long (as any other perfume in that matter). I will buy it again once I finish it for sure.

I use it often, it's the only way I truly pamper myself, but oh boy do I enjoy putting on this perfume after a nice bath.

Oh as a side-note, I just wore it on a hot summer day, I'd say.. I love it to death but, it's too warm and cozy for summer days for me, which is a good thing as I can now search for a different fragrance for summer and not compare it to Tihota, yay! (It's okay for the summer nights though I'd say, depending on how fresh or not the night is.)

a_silver.key

A delectable vanilla that opens with a shimmer of white musk that later settles to add an extra layer of warmth and depth to Tihota’s sweetness. Gorgeous, mesmerizing, and devoid of the rancid burnt plastic odour that seems to afflict so many gourmand scents. I may enjoy the avant garde and the unconventional, but vanilla is forever and Tihota, eternal.

SilvyNez

Deception! Smell only like a cooked sugar, barbe à papa, on me…Iinterestingly, I bought another Indult at the same time, and it smells exactly the same and it is not supposed at all!!! Isvaraya is supposed to be fruity and balsamic and patchouli…Weird!

DT953

I like it, a lot. This is a lovely fragrance and lasts ages. However, and this is a BIG "however", this is expensive for a one trick pony. What does it smell like? Sweet sugared vanilla and a small amount of musk in the base. Think super high-quality baking vanilla. The type that is normally kind of dry. The website also lists almond milk, which I can kind of detect. People claim this is Francis Kurkdjian's finest work and I don't know what to think of that. I prefer one or two others from him, but this is exceptionally enjoyable.

Detman101

Tihota is definitely a subtle and sweet Vanilla. I DO think it's a great middle-of-the-road vanilla...but I only like Tihota for a time when I don't need an uber-powerful gourmand vanilla fragrance...and that is hardly ever.
I would wear this when heading to the lab or around the house as it's not an all-out nuclear vanilla-scent-bubble like my aromachem-vanilla frag.

This is still 3rd in line behind "Vanilla Love"...which is 2nd to my aromachem-vanilla frag that I built. I don't think I'll keep this as:
1. this really isn't that special....to me.
2. I have other vanillas that far outshine this.

Kaylovely

I may list a 50ml (4ml missing, unboxed) for sale! Includes box, great home, stored properly! Potent vanilla bean, I prefer amber, tobacco or spice in my vanilla now a days. Heck I'm even beginning to love Cinnamon. I find Sultan superior as the spiced date note adds ummph! I also like Gourmande Escapade over this. I'm going to give Tihota the full day. If she doesn't win me over this post will stay as it is. If not I will update it to say I'm keeping her.

Update: I'm going to keep her.

So, Spiritueuese Double and Tihota give me a vanilla gummy bear vibe. Sultan the same with an added clove, date chicle vibe. Going to keep this and add SDV and Sultan to my collection. I should've worn Tihota in summer as it's lighter than SDV and Sultan. I undersprayed today compared to my usual 30 sprays. :) I can smell Tihota much better.

Mott44

Tried to resist it. Tihota won. This is such an amazing fragrance. Sometimes it seems simple in the best ways and other days it hits my nose throughout the day in the most beautiful complex way and I love it so much I see myself having to get a backup bottle.

Oriental_Dream

From the Indult site...

Notes: Highest grade Tahitian vanilla, muscovado, cane sugar, cream, almond milk accord, Tonka bean, benzoin absolute, Palo Santo, white woods, white musk, amber.

«Sugar» in Polynesian

It is on the island of Taha’a under the Polynesian sun where the intoxicating scent of sugar cane blends with the aroma of sensual vanilla pods, that Tihota is born. This exquisite perfume is a gorgeous uplifting blend of vanilla that is toned down with musk. Its delicate scent lingers on the skin in a whiff that brings back memories of the best holidays on the exotic islands.

Tihota is not a simple perfume. It is a delicious journey that awakens your senses and takes you to a land where dreams fuse with reality. It is a blow of a warm sweet breeze that wraps the body in an exceptional way.

It is here for you to try and to never forget, here to have you coming back for it again and again.

KellyTheStew

Yep, it's vanilla.

A one-dimentional fragrance for multi-dimentional bank accounts.

oilbird3

Love this. But to me Nemat's Vanilla Musk is a great dupe if you don't mind using perfume oil and the fact that it doesn't really project much.

diegoesk7

Review of 2022 batch.. I'm male and love this stuff! For some odd reason- on my skin- the sillage and longevity sucks in hot weather but is beastly during colder weather. Expensive, but is the best PURE smelling vanilla IMO. Kayali 28 is very similar in quality but has more floral notes.

Turquoisu

Edited with longevity update after a full day of wear.

Wow!!! For me this really is the Grail Vanilla. Tihota is so elegant and sophisticated. It smells like true spicy vanilla and ice cream, which doesn't sound particularly sophisticated but it somehow is! It's like a warm hug but it's also airy and fluffy. Just pure heaven.

Longevity is great, the one spray on my neck is still projecting after 8 hours. I've read reviews below stating they hardly smelled it. On spraying, the initial blast is quite strong and I can easily see how this might lead to nose blindness, but it settles after a few minutes and from there on it has persistent sillage. For me, one spray goes a long way.

I'm a true vanilla lover, so for me it's absolutely worth the price tag. It's exactly like reviewer raw umber wrote below here (5 May 2022). If you love vanilla (and in particular the smell of vanilla ice cream), your search for the perfect vanilla ends here.

I also own VS Bare Vanilla, and it's similar if you're looking for a dupe.

Gourmandgirll

This is the vanilla perfume of my dreams . I’m a vanilla/ gourmand lover and I collect them. This beats mazzolari vaniglia, it even beats Jousset accident a la vanille (which was my all time favorite vanilla )
The performance on tihota is also AMAZING, I could still smell a scent bubble around me 7 hours later. It’s 100% a vanilla lovers dream 🥰

gurle94

This does remind me of Vanilla Bean Noel. It's a very sweet gourmand with some musk. More of a cold vanilla than a warm one. Kind of like buttercream frosting. Perhaps it stood out back when it was released, but today there's nothing too special or unique about it. It's nice, I think most people would find it nice, but that's about it.

missviv

I'm a vanilla lover so I got a sample of this. I applied 5 drops of it by pressing the little sample bottle to my wrist, twice per wrist and once on my neck. After the fifth application I began to panic because I could smell something fluffy and vanilla-y and lovely, but it was so faint that I thought there was something wrong with my nose?! I ran over to Fragrantica and I'm relieved to see other people also saying that they can hardly smell it. But then I asked my husband if he could smell it and he said he could at arms length distance from me... so I'm.... confused.

I would consider buying it if it was stronger (or if I *personally* could smell it more!). I guess for me it's like a super nice barely there skin scent, so I would never drop the cash on it.

In terms of the comparison with BBW Vanilla Bean Noel - I have only ever owned the Vanilla Bean Noel body wash, so if there is a body mist, I haven't tried it and now I want to! Lol. Anyways I can understand people noticing the similarity but I think Vanilla Bean Noel is nowhere near as refined a vanilla scent as Tihota.

I'm not familiar with the Vic Secret comparisons that are being made so thanks for mentioning that in the reviews, I'm excited to check those out.

jassca99

I personally am not that familiar with most of the BBW vanilla body mists, so I don’t know if those mists are similar to all these vanilla fragrances. However, I am VERY familiar with VS Vanilla Lace body mist and lotion; Tihota is 99% identical to it from start to finish. Something I can’t say about Kayali. Smells good, smooth and actually performs better but I’m still not sure about the price tag. Vanilla, hard toffee and musk!

desturner866

I agree it smells very similar to Bare Vanilla by Victoria’s Secret and Vanilla Bean Noel from Bath and Body Works.

santeripe

Vanilla-skeptic tries Tihota! I don't hate vanilla. It's just a very hard note to do right. Some universally loved gourmands (like Xerjoff Lira) have been absolutely horrible to my nose. Cloying, migraine-inducing, annoying, etc. But vanilla does add a beautiful touch to many fragrances as a background actor. With so many people praising this as a masterpiece, I wanted to find out if it was possible for me to dislike and be annoyed by it.

My first reaction was surprise at just how light and fluffy the scent is. I've heard some people describe this as soft. But I didn't expect to smell barely anything on skin! The whiffs I kept catching in the air were actually stronger and more vanilla than the skin-scent. Usually gourmands choke me out with their rich strength smelled on skin. Where as this can be described as both warm and transparent. Never smelled a warm-sweet transparent fragrance before. Promising start.

As for the scent, melted vanilla ice-cream comes the closest to what I'm smelling. But remove the milkiness and add a slight caramelized woody touch. That's Tihota to my nose. There are elements of dryness, creaminess, sweetness, bitterness and muskiness going on at once. Even though the scent doesn't really evolve, it's interesting and multi-faceted. The musk becomes more prominent towards the end. It adds a somewhat feminine touch to the vanilla in my opinion. This would be more unisex and less strongly feminine-leaning without it.

I think this finally confirms that I'm not a vanilla gourmand person. As beautiful and flawless as this is, it just doesn't give me the tingles like many ambroxan-bomb freshies do. I will totally finish my sample though! The transparency even makes this suitable for mild summer days IMO. It never seems to get cloying or annoying. For sure the best prominent vanilla I've smelled, and I wouldn't bet against this growing on me and buying a full bottle in the future...

Edit: Wore this to work, and immediately got two unsolicited compliments. Both thought it smelled amazing in the room, but neither thought they were smelling me or a fragrance. The second co-worker even asked "What are you snacking on?" after I said it's coming from me. This was from the other side of the room, hours after three sample sprays. So I guess projection is officially room-filling?

It's better than Fire at Will IMO!

Holliebobollie

I don’t get all the hype. It’s a nice straight vanilla. Could be good for layering but on its own it’s a bit meh for me.

akaras

Not impressed and frankly don't understand the hype. Way too faint for the price and it wasn't just my nose that could barely detect the scent. I don't even think that using the whole bottle all at once would make a difference.

raw umber

I've been collecting perfume for over 10 years and I have a family history of loving vanilla, so as soon as Tihota popped onto my radar years ago, I saw the price tag, and then put it on the back burner and waited... and waited... and while I was waiting to forget about it and move on with my life, I tried literally hundreds of other simple and complicated vanillas, cheap and expensive vanillas, coming to own and then declutter over one hundred vanillas just in my own collection, including many dupes, cousins, and even distant ancestors of Tihota.

Then after a very very VERY hard year, I looked at my perfume budget in 2022 and realized this was gonna be the year. I bought Tihota and when it arrived from France, I ripped the package open and it smelled... like Vanilla Bean Noel from Bath & Body Works? "WAIT!" I thought frantically, don't say that without doing a side by side comparison! So I ran to my bedroom and grabbed all of the Tihota dupes in my collection and came back out with paper strips to settle the matter once and for all (for myself anyway, I'm definitely not trying to tell you what YOU should think).

The results were surprising. Next to Tihota, Vanilla Bean Noel and Vanilla Lace smelled like sour milk and burning plastic respectively. Next to Tihota, Nemat Vanilla Musk smelled like... nothing at all? Then I realized something. Tihota is what all those other simple vanillas tried to smell like, it *IS* what they smell like to us in our Kodachrome memory of them, but in reality these other vanillas always have a very slight tinge of sour, of plastic, of *something* nasty that you ignore because it smells 99% how you want it to. Tihota adds the final 1% of just nice uncluttered vanilla that all those other simple vanillas should have had but didn't, and in that way it's the best.

loveheart

Really lovely on paper, and lingers. Fades dramatically quickly on skin.

Immediate spray is vanilla extract then quickly moves to uplifting beautifully sweet flowery chocolatey vanilla.

Dry down is similar to Choco Musk, less & with a hint of yellow flower. Its gorgeous but it doesn't have enough on Choco Musk to warrant its price tag.

The bottle design is disappointing & mind-numbingly dull.

Verdict: Gorgeous skin scent. Upscale Choco Musk. If I had 250 to blow, I'd go for it.

LittleMissBlasian

This is literally VS ‘Bare Vanilla’ in perfume form.

silthrill

Artificially flavoured vanilla cake frosting. Like a vanilla cupcake at a kid's birthday party. As an avid baker, I resent the comments that call this an "authentic vanilla".

jazzyraspberry

Smells like straight up vanilla, plain & simple.

sugarsweet2597

unfortunately i am not as big of a fan as i’d hoped. to me, mix bar vanilla bourbon packs more of a punch in terms of sillage. they smell almost identical. just as i was ready to cast it off as a overpriced blind buy, i noticed that what i sprayed was still smelling the same as it did about 7 hours before! so there is that! i can see myself reaching for this when i want a nice vanilla to comfort me or a low-effort fragrance. a great layering vanilla. i must say though if you have vanilla 28 by kayali or mix bar vanilla bourbon and you’re looking for something a little more niche, just sample first.

Kaylovely

I have a sample on my site if you wanted to try this.

Pilikins

I agree with other reviewers, this is a straight up vanilla which is slightly woody. I don’t find anything magical in it. If you want plain vanilla then this is as good as any other, although there are cheaper options. It is clearly made of fine ingredients, nothing smells artificial here. It smells like best quality vanilla extract. However I prefer my vanilla with a bit more booze and smoke. This is just a bit too… well… simple.

Dramaloladiva

This is an expensive little pleasure (and a guilty one because it is only a 50 ml bottle)…
I really like it and I really want it in my collection of vanilla centered perfumes but to be honest, I have better perfumes centered around vanilla in my collection and I will just keep to my sample of Tihota for the moment.

It smells equal parts like vanilla and musks, I detect a smidge of caramel (just a hint though) and something vaguely floral but it’s waaaaayyyyy in the background.

I like it a lot, it’s a very fluffy and comforting scent but here is why I won’t purchase a full bottle:

1. The price. I mean at $220+ tax for a 50 ml bottle, no thanks, I’m good. It’s too pricey for what it is.

2. Compared to Sucre Noir or Vanille West Indies, it smells slightly dry-er and not as gourmand…I also compared it to Vaniglia by Mazzolari and Vaniglia is more floral, I love it so much! It is just much better than Tihota.

3. Sillage/Projection/Longevity. It doesn’t perform (on my skin) as well as the aforementioned perfumes above. Tihota is more of a shy skin scent. I detect it for 3-4 hours but there’s not much left after that…

For these three reasons, I will just keep my sample and enjoy it. If I had a full bottle, I know that I would not reach for it so I’ll pass on Tihota.

Honestly, try and sample Vaniglia by Mazzolari, Sucre Noir by Arte Profumi (they are also in 100 ml bottles) and last but not least, Vanille West Indies by St Barth. These three Vanillas are much much much better than Tihota…in my humble opinion…

LaBellaDonna

I had high expectations on this perfume, most of all because of all the reviews that say this could be the best vanilla in the world etc etc... (hence the price for such little content) but.. I found this disappointing. Just simple, extremely delicate vanilla. Nothing else, nothing special. Also it doesn't even last that much. Reminds me of Vanilla by Alyssa Ashley, which is way cheaper.

LwGourmand

Glad to see that I'm not the only one who can barely smell this fragrance. I really wanted to love it, on paper it sounds right up my alley. I ordered a sample and upon spraying it on myself I could only smell the faintest bit of smokey vanilla... VERY faint. It would be so beautiful if it actually performed. I wanted this perfume for so long but now I'm going to have to pass.

Kaylovely

The actual notes for this fragrance~~
Highest grade Tahitian vanilla, muscovado, cane sugar, cream, almond milk accord, Tonka bean, benzoin absolute, Palo Santo, white woods, white musk, amber.

●Muscovado= a darker, more refined, molasses richer brown sugar.■

Aage

I have been looking forward to trying this for years based on the glowing reviews as this being the Vanilla with which other vanilla fragrances are rated. To say I was disappointed after having embarked on a full bottle is an understatement. I can barely smell a thing I asked someone to try sniffing but same result. It’s barely present. While it does smell like straight up vanilla , it has no staying power at all. No one can smell it on me, I can’t even smell it on myself. Try before you buy and don’t fall into the hype pit. I will stick to my SDV till I find another.

AnaIli35

I’m only halfway through my bottle purchased on LuckyScent a year ago, and the scent has already turned. I store my perfumes in a cool, dry place. I’m sooo disappointed:-(. If you enjoy Tihota, use it up quickly!

Jadeeeee

I just received this beauty in the mail & it smells EXACTLY like my 1st vanilla love Victoria’s Secret Vanilla Lace!

MFK definitely had to be inspired by the now discontinued scent, which I own 3 bottles of.

Tihota has that vanilla extract & cake batter vibe going with this formula. Super similar to VS vanilla lace.

Good to know all is not lost, this is a great richer dupe for Vanilla Lace & smells nothing like Kayali Vanilla 28, which I also own & love.

Tihota is a bit pricey for 1.7oz & the bottle looks cheap.

Vanilla 28 is musky/ floral take on vanilla & brown sugar. Though it’s super sweet, it lacks the milky characteristics Tihota has.

Kaylovely

Oh this smells exactly like Kayali 28 with better lasting power. Brown sugar vanilla with cream and woods. Makes so much sense.
Both perfumes share some of the same notes. Vanilla (though diffrent types), Tonka, Amber, Musk, Woods. Like I mentioned Tihota has cream and more woods...
The perfumes are basically the same. To say it smells like Vanilla lace because you see Vanilla and Musk for both perfume notes... when Tihota isn't just Vanilla and Musk. Then to devalue the comparison for Tihota and Kayali28 makes 0 sense. Which is why I keep plastering the notes on here. People will be people though. 👀

Tihota: Highest grade Tahitian vanilla, muscovado, cane sugar, cream, almond milk accord, Tonka bean, benzoin absolute, Palo Santo, white woods, white musk, amber.
Vs
Kayali28: Jasmine, Madagascan Vanilla Orchid, Brazilian Tonka. Musk, Amber, Patchouli and Brown Sugar Amber Wood base.

Kaylovely

This doesn't compare to Vaniglia because the notes are very diffrent; wake up people! This smells like a cheap bbw perfume. Something we have smelled 1000 times. When I tried Vaniglia, Sucre Noir and accident by jousset. They all smell similar like incredibly similar with Vaniglia taking the cake for 3. I've never in my life smelled anything like the 3 mentioned. But Tihota, it's a stronger vanilla woods type scent... nothing to write home about. I know you all are hyped anytime you see MFK. Don't fool yourself though this is still sold by B&BW till this day. I made the mistake of blind buying this twice. Luckily the 2nd time I could sample Tihota. I have 2 bottles of Tihota and 1 of Manakara. I have a fb of Vaniglia. So I will have those bottles of Tihota listed soon. I ordered from Indult and Lucky. The order with Indult seemed to get returned to sender and I immediately bought it from lucky. Seeing how it sells out due to the hype... man. I'm very, very disappointed. Yall are saying melted ice cream.... this smells exactly like a cheap B&BW spray with killer longevity. I'm just saying... I can't believe the hype behind this. Now BR540 sure because it's actually ground breaking. I guess if Picasso did one piece that went viral and another mediocre because of his name both will be viral.. sad days we live in! You can love this; but please don't even compare this to the goat. I think this will be better for those who like basic scents. I could see why the basic would pick this. Those who like unisex, rich exotic scents and can actually pull it off will go for a more rich exciting scent. Whether it be Vanig, Sucre or Accident la. I do like the Palo Santo mixing with the cream for Tihota. It's not a bad scent.

I guess I just didn't expect to already smell this before when Vaniglia and the other 2 mentioned. I have never in my life even dreamed of smelling. Like so ground breaking. The richest most edible sweet rich gourmand Vanilla. Where Tihota is a basic Vanilla woods scent. You can even tell by the note composition which will be more complex. Tihota has too many notes. Which can remind us of other scents. Vaniglia is literally a thick caramel with vanilla flavoring and the sweet Orchid bringing sensuality and wholeness. Try both for yourself and really try them. Don't compare because you can't: compare apples to oranges. Message me what you think or comment above. ¡¡

amagdalene

As a vanilla addict on the hunt for the "holy grail of vanillas", this is it. If you are reading this: You have found her! This might seem silly but even after having owned and smelled almost all of the most critically acclaimed vanilla fragrances (Vanilla 28, Gentle Fluidity Gold, Orchidee Vanille, Sucre Noir, Vaniglia, Dama Bianca, Lune Feline, Absolute Aphrodisiac, Sultan, Naxos, A Whiff of Wafflecone, Herod, Roses Vanille, Dark Vanilla, Royal Vanilla, Arabians Tonka, Ani, Nuit Et Confidences, Eau Duelle EDP & EDT, Mon Guerlain, Noir Exquis, Shalimar Souffle de Parfum, Fresh Cream Warm Cashmere, By the Fireplace, Whispers in the Library, Shalimar Cologne, Tobacco Vanille, etc etc) when I smelled EOS Vanilla Cashmere shea butter lotion I was like THIS IS THE BEST VANILLA I MUST HAVE THIS IN A PERFUME. Lol. None of the perfumes I've listed scratched that vanilla itch for me (although Kayali Vanilla 28 came the closest) but that dang EOS Vanilla Cashmere lotion did. So I set out on a mission to find an EDP that smells exactly like that lotion. My first discovery was that Bath and Body Works Vanilla Bean Noel smells identical to the EOS Vanilla Cashmere shea butter lotion. I was thrilled! The only problem was that upon the initial spray it had a mixture of super strong alcohol smells and a weird kind of spoiled milk smell (I got an older bottle off of ebay) but as soon as it settled it was perfect! My perfect vanilla! EOS Vanilla Cashmere in a bottle! Then, reality hit. 10 minutes after spraying Vanilla Bean Noel it was almost completely gone. It didn't even have a dry down! 20 minutes after the initial spray it completely disappeared. Womp womp. So I set out to find a parfum that smells identical but stronger with longevity. I had been eyeballing Tihota for like a year but after seeing reviews here say that it smelled like Vanilla Bean Noel I was like SCORE so as soon as Luckyscent restocked I sold three of my fragrances to get this one lol. Let me tell ya'll. It does not disappoint. It is like a super high quality perfect version of the smell I've been searching for! It's everything I've ever wanted in a perfume!! I can finally smell like a walking, talking human vanilla cake. I'm in heaven. Now I can literally bathe in this smell because I have the Vanilla Bean Noel body wash, the EOS Vanilla Cashmere lotion, and the VBN body spray for my clothes (it actually lasts days on clothing!). I feel like I've hit a crescendo in my fragrance fandom journey. 🥲 What do I even do now? At least I'll smell amazing in my "existscentual" crisis.

Edit: This just keeps getting better. Wow. On a side note I've been able to also sample both Mazzolari Vaniglia and Arte Profumi Sucre Noir and they are nothing like Tihota. Don't believe the people saying they're similar; they're not. They don't hold a candle to the Queen. Much lighter, much different - not pure vanilla like Tihota. The Mazzolari Vaniglia smells almost identical to Van Cleef & Arpels Orchidee Vanille upon first spritz, and as it settles it smells of a sweet vanilla-flavored cotton candy. If you can imagine Orchidee Vanille without the chocolate note, with a spun sugar note instead? That's Mazzolari Vaniglia in a nutshell. It's very pleasant but nowhere near Tihota-level. The opening of Arte Profumi Sucre Noir initially smells almost identical to Kayali Vanilla 28 to my nose. The only difference I can detect is that it has less depth. If Vanilla 28 is Coca-Cola, then Sucre Noir is Diet Coke. That's not an insult, I prefer Diet Coke, lol. I actually like that Sucre Noir has such a similar vanilla orchid at it's base without the complexity of the Kayali. It's simple and sweet; it doesn't try to be more than a simple vanilla. In the dry downs Vaniglia and Sucre Noir start to smell very similar to one another. Their openings are very different but in their dry downs they become twin sisters with only minor discernible differences. As comparable as they are to each other, they are not at all similar to Tihota. So make sure you sample first and don't buy them assuming they're similar enough to scratch that vanilla holy grail itch while also saving you money. Vanilla Bean Noel is infinitely closer to Tihota, ironically; and you can snag it for about $15 on ebay.

Edit #2: I just had the pleasure of sampling Jovoy's Fire At Will and OH. OH my HEART. It's almost a perfect clone of Tihota! Another reviewer put it best by saying that if Tihota smells like a vanilla made with white sugar, then Fire At Will smells like the same vanilla made with brown sugar instead! The mimosa adds a hint of honeyed floral to it which is subtle but gorgeous. This is the closest fragrance I've found to being able to compete with Tihota, and I'd say she's a really close runner-up (although upon further use I have to say that Tihota has better longevity). They're *super similar* but ever-so-slightly different enough that sadly I am also now completely obsessed with buying a full bottle of Fire At Will 🥲 Rest in pieces, my poor bank account.

Yet another edit: You guys, Nemat's Vanilla Musk fragrance oil smells identical to Tihota. Probably even closer than Vanilla Bean Noel. If VBN is 99.5% similar to Tihota then Vanilla Musk is 99.9% similar! The only problem is the Nemat lacks sillage and potency. If barely projects past arm's length. You will still love the little scent cloud it envelopes you within, though! I also found something marvelous: when you use the Vanilla Musk oil first and then layer the Tihota over it, the oil extends the longevity of the Tihota by at least two hours! For me the oil only lasts 2-3 hours by itself and Tihota lasts a moderate 3-4, but when I layer them by applying the oil first and then spraying Tihota over it, I get a good 6 hours with slightly better projection than Tihota has by itself! I've been addicted to the combination! Anyhoo. I ordered Cocoapink's Tihota dupe so I will be reporting back to ya'll on that shortly. I would BATHE in Tihota if I could but it's sooo hecking expensive that I'm scouring ye olde interwebs for something that smells identical and forces everyone to smell me across the room. 👀

Final edit (I promise lol) on 01/01/2023: Cocoapink's "smell me across the room"-strength Tihota dupe is the best Tihota dupe on the market. 99.9% similiar in smell. I revisited Nemat Vanilla Musk after about a year and it no longer smells 99.9% similar to me, more like 95% similar now - I think my nose changed because now it smells kind of cheap. 😬 But Cocoapink's Tihota is by far the closest thing to identical to my nose; both last spring when I initially got it and again now after all this time has passed. The problem: the ingredients don't agree with my skin. I literally got chemical BURNS on my skin from only using it a few times. So now it's my "Tihota" fabric spray and the Queen remains the only one that gets to make contact with my skin. I have since "graduated" from being into gourmands and completely vanilla-obsessed to being all about the clean white musks and ambroxan bombs, so coming back to this review I can objectively still say my search for the Holy Grail of Vanilla Fragrances concluded with Tihota. She is Queen, period. I'm wearing her today for the first time in almost a year and enjoying every second. If you love vanilla, save up and start scouring the fb fragcomm groups to find someone who's selling a bottle. She's worth it.

sunflowergirl

Applied my Luckyscent sample on my wrist on three separate occasions. First time- an ok vanilla, not memorable. Second time -a rich, luscious vanilla! Possible holy grail. Third time - the dolliest doll-head vanilla ever. Plastic to the max. The one thing each sampling had in common: Tihota initially smelled weak, then grew in strength over an hour or two, and lasted a loooong time. I agree with the reviewers who compared this to melted vanilla ice cream. Recommend all vanilla lovers try this. Judge for yourself.

Perpetual Collector

Very disappointing, if i may say so...I wanted Tihota for years, partially due to it's name and partially to it being a vanilla gourmand. I requested a sample from Lucky Scent with my different purchase, and i was wearing it today. Tihota, being a Kurkdjian's creation, is a big let down. I expected more. I own True Vanilla from Library of Flowers, and that smells similar to Tihota, but it is far superior. I find Tihota to be a true, foody vanilla extract that you may find in your local grocery store, without any additives, refinements or sophistication. I would say it would be appropriate as a first niche perfume for a 10 year old girl for those made out of money. I honestly can not imagine wearing this at 47, even though i love gourmands, and Love & Crime is one of my favorites. This just lacks something, it is too edible, too linear, too simple and way too young. You can find fragrance like Tihota at any local store for 15 bucks or under.
For a nice, edible vanilla without a twist i recommend True Vanilla-LofF.
Reviews mentioning poor performance are also true, Tihota slightly projected for about 40 minutes, turned into a skin scent soon after, and after 3 to 4 hours it is pretty much gone. At $220 a bottle, this is a rip off. Luckily i opted for a sample first!

Wiktor1a

Linear vanilla with an unexpected smoky twist somewhere in the background. Its simplicity is what makes it such a classic, beautiful both on its own and as a base to layer with other fragrances to give them that little bit of oomph they might need. Definitely the best vanilla forward scent I've come across so far. Chapeau bas, monsieur Kurkdjian.

xVal

Wasn't sure if Id go for this or Vaniglia by Mazzolari , but I made up my mind and would 100% go for this one, the musk in this is a win for me.
The sweetness in Vaniglia makes me sick sometimes, never happens with Tihota.
If Vaniglia is an edible sugary sweet vanilla this one is a fluffy one, and projects better too.
Amazing.

thetunez

Salted caramel 😍

Kaylovely

Highest grade Tahitian vanilla, muscovado, cane sugar, cream, almond milk accord, Tonka bean, benzoin absolute, Palo Santo, white woods, white musk, amber.
I see why Nasamotto doesn't include notes. I've almost tricked myself into buying a scent I don't like all because of the notes.

JasonNewton

Bought this for Christmas 2021. A lovely Vanilla for sure. However, for such a simple scent, (vanilla and musk) it's really quite expensive. With that in mind, I'm probably only going to use this very occasionally.

cortadohalo

A 'soliflore' vanilla. (solinilla?) However, as listed on the Indult website:
Notes: Highest grade Tahitian vanilla, muscovado, cane sugar, cream, almond milk accord, Tonka bean, benzoin absolute, Palo Santo, white woods, white musk, amber

A holy-grail classic for a reason! When the temperature drops, I find myself craving this scent.

Custardy. Creamy. Indulgent. Beautiful. Absolute top-tier vanilla -- enough said!

CherryB

Smells like smoke on my skin :(. Might give it another try but for now it’s a big NO. I had to try it after liking Lune Feline

xxdarkstarxx

If you are looking for a true gourmand vanilla I would blind buy this 100% and there would be ZERO regrets. This is the most stunning gourmand vanilla I have ever smelt. It is a super rich, dense, moist vanilla pound cake. Not synthetic smelling at all - it’s like a warm, cozy, comforting sweet vanilla.
If you love vanilla you will adore this - heck if you know someone who loves vanilla this would be the best gift you could give them. I would say this is more feminine leaning because it is on the sweeter side but vanilla is unisex so this would smell absolutely divine on a man as well!
That being said it is pretty linear scent wise but it does get richer and thicker as it wears but still smells the same (if that makes sense 🙃).
The longevity on this is a solid 8 hours strong minimum on my skin. It does project about arms length and it leaves the most beauuutiful scent trail…people will be confused if you just came out of a bakery. I always always always get compliments when I wear this. I seriously cannot get enough of this beauty. This is another beautiful creation by Kurkdjian - Thank you!!

goodboy

this is the most realistic vanilla perfume that i ever had. after the vanilic opening, comes the musk. i dont like musk because it smells weird to my nose. i bought this as a 25 y.o. man. 9/10, smells so good. my mom said : "do u eat candy?"

Eldee123

Tihota is linear and simple. And it’s beautiful. The sample set from Lucky Scents gives generous samples. If u decide to purchase and receive a product not true to the sample, RETURN and explain the issue. Indult will rectify it immediately if u get a “bad” bottle. Most have reviewed this scent POSITIVELY because if you’re a GOURMAND scent lover, this should be a part of your collection. The projection is not as strong but it will project perfectly for the first 2-3 hours. It’s a safe blind buy for all GOURMAND LOVERS🥰

MidnightEpiphany

The sample dabber I got of Tihota was the richest, most beautiful musky vanilla bean ever. I bought a full bottle straight from Indult and was shocked at how thin and weak it is. It's a blast of alcohol and plain, cheap vanilla. I couldn't believe it, and I'm very disappointed. I saw a few other reviewers mentioned having this experience, so be forewarned.

Edit: Over a year later, and this one is getting more rich and beautiful, and it's smelling more like my original sample. I think this one needs time to deepen. Now I love it.

Jadeeeee

When is this coming back in stock? I want it!

FaisalBio

This is sugar and vanilla with a touch of milky almond, that's it very simple but it turns out its beautiful composition.

As a man I find it feminine so what I added some notes inside the bottle to make it more balsamic with tobacco nuances.

I added all of the following to 50 ml bottle
1- Tobacco ABS (I added only 40ul of 50% diluted ABS, my goal just to tone the perfume a bit not to change it)
2-Oakwood ABS ( I added only 30ul of 60% diluted ABS) woody, slightly whisky and a bit of fruitiness.
3- Vanilla ABS ( I added only 50ul of 50% diluted ABS) This vanilla ABS is nothing like the vanilla in tihota, the ABS is balsamic with a hay and animalic undertone.
4-Tobanon ( I added only 10ul, this is slightly nutty with strong tobacco note).
5- Basil Holy (Tulsi) ( I added only 10ul, this is powerful aromatic, clovey, and balsimic note) be carful this is powerful here I'm trying to make it a top note.

I don't recommend using a plastic pipette for this, you need a professional pipette like the one used in the biology lab, search in ebay you will find used ones.

I ended up with a good more balsamic and spicier Tihota, the tobacco is clear for the 30 min, it needs to mature because most of the ABS I added it will change the middle notes with time, maybe at least 6 months, still the perfume will holds 80% of the original smell but I'm more comfortable wearing it now.

This smells VERY similar to Vanilla Woods by the 7 Virtues, which is a fraction of the cost. The only difference is Vanilla Woods has an added pear note. This is very linear, which isn’t a bad thing in this case, it’s done well. It's very nice but I do not think that I need Vanilla Woods and this. If you’re a gourmand lover this is a safe blind buy.

thestranger

Pleasant powdery vanilla scent

Inésanja

If your looking for a straight up vanilla. This is it!
I don’t get anything but vanilla in here. It’s a beautiful vanilla fragrance. It’s not cloying, not synthetic, just a pure intoxicating vanilla.
Safe blind buy

esnovelli

Smells exactly like Pink Sugar- Juvenile, sickly sweet, unpleasant generally

HugoAlfie

Absolute perfection in a bottle. This is a holy grail of a vanilla perfume. I absolutely positively adore this Kurkdjian’s creation. It’s the most beautiful, sweet, comforting and intoxicating vanilla scent, ever. My other vanilla favorites include Bois Dore and Ani, but Tihota is the best one.

MabelSyrup

At first sniff Tihota is melted vanilla ice cream, pure and simple. After revisiting it, I find the scent to be a fairly linear but high quality vanilla: more "vanilla beans just scraped from the pod" than "gallon of Breyer's." I'm not picking up the musk base note, but there is something more to this that makes it special and amps up its creamy warmth. I grew up on vanilla fragrances with a doll head/Play-Doh undercurrent (the early '90s formulation of the Body Shop vanilla perfume oil is still number 1 in this department). Tihota is like that perfume's more sophisticated big sister. I do wish this had better staying power and projection.

RisingChaos

Tihota seems to be the biggest FragCom darling when it comes to recommendations for vanilla gourmands, so of course I had to try it as part of my search for the best vanilla gourmand.

Honestly, it just smells like melted vanilla ice cream at room temperature. It's a milky and creamy vanilla. There's perhaps a slight warmth about it, maybe a touch of nuttiness, but otherwise I don't get anything else in the way of secondary accords. It's certainly a very pure vanilla, right up there with Shalini Vanille Reve as the most pure I've tried, but gosh I just don't think it's all that special. Ice cream is best served cold and solid, not as a warm liquid. Moderate projection for 2-3hr off my skin, longevity 6-8hr.

Idismee

I was first put off by reviews about Tihota smelling cheap and synthetic like VS Vanilla Lace (a scent I used to wear in my teenage years that I now can't stand), but my GOD am I glad I took the leap and blind-bought this. Sure, there are similar little notes as in Vanilla Lace... But this is NOTHING like it. It's absolutely a vanilla that has depth, elegance, and character - a beautifully blended, naked but shy vanilla. The powdery notes subdue the otherwise sugary sweetness in this fragrance... The musk makes it mysterious and complex... I can't wait to use this on its own, or layered with other scents (which I think Tihota is also fantastic for). The best part? It lasts all day on me. Can't stop smelling my wrists. Just... lovely, lovely, lovely.

giakerr

I’ve tested this before but the mention of almond milk prompted me to explore it again. This has a doll-like quality to it but there are others that fit that category better for me. I honestly prefer my $10 Kuumba Vanilla Musk when I’m in the mood for a doll head vanilla. Realistically, I don’t think I would wear this often enough to justify the price- however I see why this is so universally loved. Perhaps I don’t love this as much because of its price- I’m looking for more that just isn’t there. Tihota is a really pretty & simple vanilla.

I’d really enjoy if Fragrantica wrote an article blind testing iconic fragrances like this one, compared to very similar and often times cheaper scents (BR540 vs Cloud, Black Opium vs 100 Silent Ways, for example). I truly think price tags and labels (niche, celebrity, designer) can play a big role in how we perceive perfume. There’s no doubt this is a beautiful vanilla but is it popular because of its reputation & big name nose, Kurkdjian? Or is this really THE holy grail of vanilla?

Mira J

I can see why this is many people's holy grail vanilla.... its quickly become mine as well! Sweet simple vanilla. I don't get much musk. Only wearing on special occasions because I'm debating if the price per ml is worth it. I'll only own another bottle if it is gifted to me. 😬 Still beautiful regardless!

Edit: Yes, it was worth it. Quickly became my staple vanilla. Backup secured.

gourmandnotes

Can someone edit the notes pyramid to include the following notes? I would, but not sure how. Pulled from the Indult Paris website Tihota has notes of: Tahitian vanilla, muscovado, cane sugar, cream, almond milk accord, Tonka bean, benzoin absolute, Palo Santo, white woods, white musk, amber.

blorpkin

My god is this divine. I got a sample vial and dumped the whole thing on me because I loved it so much. Got the bottle the next day. Great purchase.

It's simple vanilla and it's not a sledgehammer. It's mild and doesn't radiate far, but it leaves that lovely wake and lasts a long time. You'll get little whiffs of it throughout the day. When this happens, my face looks like the "love" icon on Fragrantica. I don't care if everyone thinks I need a therapist when my eyes turn into hearts. Tihota is my therapist.

Without question, Tihota by Indult is the measuring bar by which all vanilla fragrances are judged and they’ve all been found wanting. Tihota is a slightly boozy, spicy, natural vanilla that lasts an age and smells divine. One of Francis Kurkdjian‘s most remarkable fragrances in its complexity and its simplicity. Doesn’t make sense? I know. But that’s what it does to me.

I've heard this called the best vanilla in perfumery and other accolades, but I'm not getting that. It's nice enough and it has great performance and longevity. But for the price and the hype, I was expecting it to at least smell better than the vanilla extract in my cupboard. There's something very turbinado sugar-y and also syrup-y about this, so I'm surprised sugar isn't a note. It's a bit too sugar-y for me to the point where it reminds of Pink Sugar by Aqualina a bit. It's fine. It's just not for me.

gourmandnotes

Edit: 12/18 - Okay. Now that I've had Tihota for several months after purchase, this perfume has really aged well. The vanilla is delicious, almost realistic and now I can see why it's so popular! I retract my previous statement/review about it being basically an artificial 90s dollhead vanilla. I'm so glad to have given this another chance after some time apart. After you allow the perfume to "age", like vintage wine, you can smell the quality vanilla shining through: sweeter, darker, takes on deeper caramel-y facets and becomes deliciously ripe. If you were like me, dismissing it as nothing noteworthy, please give it some time for it to age (like two months or so). It's absolutely worth a try.

As a fan of Francis Kurkdjian, it befuddles me as to why he would bottled what is quintessentially the 90s baby vanilla-scented dollhead smell. But then again, we all have that One Fragrance Thing we're compulsively, inexplicably drawn to smelling even though to many others, it's nothing to get worked up about. I can see how the dollhead smell can top this list in the fragrance archives of truly niche scent memories.

Incidentally, I just recently tried Lavanila's Vanilla and the smell is strikingly similar for a fraction of the price, but I must say even in Tihota, there's something to be said about the way how he blended a few simple, but quality, ingredients into something seamlessly smooth and memorable.

The moment I opened the decant, I was hit with Victoria's Secret Vanilla Lace, a scent I remember well from high school and a scent I still routinely encounter in the wild. I was hoping something interesting would happen on my skin, but this was pretty linear and remained in Vanilla Lace territory for the entire wear time - several hours. Tihota does seem to have a little more depth than the VS, but overall, I couldn't shake the notion that this is $220 body spray. This isn't to say the fragrance is unpleasant or cheap-smelling (whatever that means) or cloying or whatever negative connotations some may associate with VS/BBW-type scents. It's...fine. But hearing how lovely this is on others and considering the price for the body splash vibe, I was expecting more than fine. This one just doesn't work on me so my holy-grail vanilla pursuit continues.

olik

Very yummy, slightly smoky vanilla smell, very delicate i would even say faint, very intimate...I barely can smell it on my skin, very poor projection, longevity is around 5 hrs on me. I am not sure if i will be using it very often, smells great but to close to skin for my liking...May be it will grow on me with time...

Miss Maven Moon

Super Yummy!
Just got this little guy yesterday and I am so happy with my purchase. At first spray, I couldnt smell a thing. I thought i had a bad bottle and right when I was contemplating driving to the scent bar for an exchange, this bloomed into a lovely gem. Super linear, but beautiful vanilla cookies. I love smelling like sweets, so this is so up my alley. I can't wait to bust this out in the winter. I especially can't wait to try this while having an intimate moment with my BF, he is going to devour me ;)

jakielius

I love vanilla fragrances so I love this. However, I consider this perfume to be fairly linear - I don’t get much musk, just classic, sweet, cozy, bakery vanilla. It smells extremely similar to BBW Vanilla Bean Noel, but a little more grown up and not synthetic. The projection and longevity are also very good on this. I’m glad I have a bottle but I don’t think I would drop another $200+ for it when I run out (although maybe I’ll eat those words when the day comes!) While I really enjoy this perfume, I like Kayali Vanilla 28 better because it has a darker, sexier element to it. I think Tihota is a really comforting, uplifting scent, and would be great in a winter holiday setting!

Dandyman

I´ve spent some time with this one, wearing it day and nights out, formal wear, casual wear etc.
This is a non-gourmand vanilla with something raw in the base (musk, of course).
This is my verdict:

1. It is linear, meaning, you´ll get a wonderful, full on vanilla that stays the same for hours.
2. The musk makes this one into a sex bomb.
3. Unisex. Men should wear this. And women should wear this, please...

I seriously think this is the only perfume in my collection i need a back up bottle of.
We use so much superlatives when we speak of our beloved fragances, but on Tihota i must say:

Amazing. Stellar. Five stars. Long lasting. Sexy. Bold. Excellent.

Topaz Frenzy

A super high quality vanilla concoction, it's absolutely clear that the best ingredients are being used in Tihota.

Extremely indulgent with so much sweetness and depth, I love it. I can't stop sniffing myself.

fanntonyoscar

This is one of my top 5, because it’s a foody-vanilla like Mazzolari with a hint of musk added. It’s fairly linear, but I’m grateful for that with this one. It’s a keeper!

yeah__books

I wear this a lot! It's quite basic and not exactly likely to surprise, but it smells like a sweet clean vanilla to me, and I get the musk smell. I'm not great at describing fragrances but this is nice.

In saying that, I am unlikely to repurchase as I find Absolut Aphrodite has more complexity. I still adore the bottle I have!

ForbiddenCookie

It's rich yet gentle and a bit fuzzy. Definitely more feminine. This is a more classy gourmand as opposed to an overtly juvenile one you'd expect on a teenager. This really is the best vanilla, and it has instantly become one of my favorite fragrances ever. Just wish it wasn't so damn expensive.

P.S. - With that being said... if anyone in the ConUS is willing to part with their bottle, please feel free to browse my trade shelves to see if we can set up something.

Vickalicious

This is probably the best straight-forward vanilla fragrance I've tried. It's sweet and it feels like there is brown sugar, or a caramelized vanilla in the opening. It does get lighter as it wears, but at no point does it smell synthetic. I don't get the musk, only a sweet vanilla. This is definitely one that vanilla lovers should try. Would be really nice in the cooler months. This lasts about five hours on me.

ladyjb

The most incredible vanilla you will ever smell. Sweet and thick and reminiscent of the wafting scent of hot vanilla custard or creme brûlée, but somehow richer. I only pick up the musk when it’s all but vanished from my skin. Performance is excellent, even on my dry skin!

fyre92

Beautiful butttttt Vanille fleurons de Tahiti by Maison la vanille smells like this but it’s more powdery and ALOT sweeter. It’s also $60. Also check out Vanille de la reunion by Laurence Dumont. SAMENESS!!!!

Magenta78

Oh my - do give this one a chance, but seriously: do not buy w/out thoroughly putting it to the test.
May one million people say it's similar to [this and that], I say it really is not. An entirely different beast. An immensely unpleasant Orchid accompanied by burnt sugar and dry herbs. On the verge of being suffocating.

hsiangchi.huang

Very similar to Kayali Vanilla (~90%), both giving out the brown sugar coated vanilla bean vibe. Also quite similar to Chocolate Greedy, Love & Crime, Lira and Orchidee Vanille.

The note profile should be more complex than what's listed above... because this is not your "plain vanilla". The opening is so addictive and captivating. It's a tiramisu infused with just a hint of rum and dusted with crystallized brown sugar. Sweet but not cloying, a must try for gourmand lovers!

briannadedrew

This was a blind buy for me and I'm not going to lie, at first I was a bit disappointed. Not because the scent was bad, I actually always loved the scent itself, but it was almost indecipherable to me from Vanilla Bean Noel from Bath and Body Works. However, I sprayed it on the sleeve of the pajama shirt I was wearing and after even three days, it smells just as strong as ever and the scent turned even more sophisticated which I was very happy about as it no longer was the same as the much cheaper Vanilla Bean Noel. I got this because a perfume TikToker said it was the perfect vanilla, and now I get what she meant!

finesse19

smells like melted sugar in the best possible way. this is absolutely full bottle worthy. while it is linear, it is not “simple”. this is classy, refined, and genuinely beautiful. this will without a doubt be my next purchase.

ju0ju

A beautiful perfume. I'm actually so surprised by all of the reviews calling it a very simple mix of straight vanilla and musk, because to my nose it's definitely more complex. I will say I believe the notes on Fragrantica are incomplete and I wonder if that's skewing people's perceptions. On Indult's website the notes are:

Highest grade Tahitian vanilla, muscovado, cane sugar, cream, almond milk accord, Tonka bean, benzoin absolute, Palo Santo, white woods, white musk, amber.

Also, I noticed the ingredients include Evernia Prunastri extract--oak moss (I guess it's called out separately from the fragrance because of skin sensitivities?). To my nose, this absolutely makes sense.

To me Tihota smells like an old lightly dusty paperback book magically turned into a delectable edible treat. It actually reminds me really strongly of a now-discontinued perfume I loved years ago, Neonatura Cocoon by Yves Rocher, which was a mix of vanilla, cacao and patchouli. Apparently the note "white woods" includes patchouli(?), so this might actually make sense. I wish I still had a bottle so I could compare side by side.

I will say that I did compare side by side with Solinotes Vanille and Philosophy Fresh Cream and I completely disagree with comparisons to Tihota. Both of those are (imho) sickeningly sweet and unwearable whereas Tihota might end up becoming my everyday wear perfume because I love a delicious and rich gourmand vanilla without any candy/floral notes.

PS: A 2016 Basenotes forum post by kccparis (who bought Indult to save the perfumes from discontinuation) mentions that Tihota is "made from a vanilla flower (not pod) from a tree off an island near Tahiti. It's not sweet or sugary because Francis Kurkdjian has added a white musk that allows the vanilla to blossom." Interesting!

Do you remember Victoria’s Secret Vanilla Lace? This is that. It’s a yummy, sweet, romantic sugar cookie scent. I like it, but I can’t justify the $$$ when I remover paying $7 for this at Victoria’s Secret 20 years ago.

Eau de Hanneli

Tihota envelopes me in a cloud of vanilla spun sugar. Nothing more, nothing less to my nose. I have a decant of this and would consider purchasing a full bottle, but the price is a lot for what is a rather simple composition, albeit executed to perfection.. I’ve tried a range of vanilla fragrances, Tihota is the purest vanilla I’ve found. I have another vanilla that is quite similar so will get through that bottle first.

Ellsa

I’m at my second bottle of this. It’s not pure vanilla as some say, it’s musky-creamy-vanilla. For me it’s a wonderful fragrance. It’s sweet but not heavy. Don’t expect something complicated because is not! It’s one of the most simple perfumes I have, qualitative indeed, but I’m sure there are others more cheap with the same result. I bought this because I’m crazy about vanilla, in smells, in food, in body lotions, everywhere, and I take and try everything with vanilla, so it’s different for me, but if you are not a fan of vanilla don’t waste your money. Don’t get me wrong, it is a very qualitative perfume and great one but it can be too simple and generic for some.

perfume_obsessed

First impression is it’s definitely a vanilla perfume. Literally vanilla, but also “vanilla” in the same way that the word has become a synonym for “plain”. But if you wait for it, the real beauty of this scent reveals itself.

Definitely vanilla, and yet once it settles I actually find it smells chocolatey! It makes me think back to the first time I smelled Palmer’s Cocoa Butter lotion on a (very attractive) male friend and found the scent swoon-worthy. A far more sophisticated take on Palmer’s Cocoa Butter lotion, to be sure, but for a vanilla perfume to take you all the way to chocolate and then back to vanilla is pretty impressive. Longevity is pretty awesome too. My kids absolutely love this perfume and the more I wear it, the more I find I love it too. It might take a few wears, but if you give Tihota a chance to grow on you, chances are it will.

holocene

I brought a decant of this online and now I’m concerned that is was a fake, because I’m not getting the same reaction as most of the reviews at all. I found it an overly sweet, synthetic smelling vanilla/chocolate scent, and it didn’t really last long on skin at all, but still smelling it on my dressing gown a day later.

The smell of it to me smells pretty much like Choco Musk from Al Rehab. Not a bad scent, but also like Choco Musk, this just smells so synthetic and can be cloying.

I may get the Indult Discovery Set now it’s back in stock, and see if it was the real deal. Kinda disappointed though.

iszzieanna

If you are looking for a quality, hyper realistic vanilla scent, out of all the “pure vanilla” fragrances (Vanille West Indies Ligne St. Barth, Sucre Noir Arte Profumi, Insulo Jeroboam, Kayali Vanilla 28, Mazzolari Vaniglia) this one takes the cake. This one is rich, deep, so fluffy-marshmallow sweet, but quite linear and unchanging. It’s a good fragrance to have if you just want to smell edible and straight vanilla. It will be quite pleasing for the masses. My kind of vanilla is a green, spicy, or citrus vanilla. It was nice to have a sample size and test this hyped up fragrance. It’s quite lovely and yummy!

Edit: still the best deep, musky vanilla out there. Tried it recently and was surprised to find the opening was very rose-oud smelling to me. Maybe it was just my nose in the moment
