Overpriced as with all JHAG fragrances. But top three in the wardrobe essentials box. Pretty, simple, slightly watery pear. Clean shampoo vibes and intimate. Will layer with EP&F.

aegh.98

Juicy pear, fresh, clean, musky. An absolute dream! I can't get enough of this fragrance♡ I just love the smell of it. It's like taking a bite of a pear🫧

lilacxlily

I like this. Another reviewer mentioned the L'Oreal Kids Tangle Tamer and I agree 100%. I need to smell my arm quite closely in order to pick up on the fragrance as it doesn't perform well in terms of sillage, but I'm enjoying the travel-sized bottle I picked up regardless. I will likely reach for this on days that I am not in the mood for a strong fragrance but still want to wear something. It's inoffensive and smells nice, a full-size bottle would be expensive for what it is.

I thought I had found the perfect pear when I first smelled this and was so excited. The scent is truly amazing. BUT, the projection & longevity is an absolute joke. It was to the point where I would absolutely drench myself in it and spray like 20 sprays and 10 minutes later I could barely smell it when I sniffed my arm up close. It left no scent trail at all, even on clothes. I am wondering if it's because the scent is truly that weak or I became anosmic to the scent after like 1 wear. Anyway I sold it, and still haven't found another pear that smells this good that actually lasts.

I have been wanting to try JHAG fragrances forever and decided to go for Pear Inc. as an addition to my spring/summer rotation! It was a blind-buy and I'm not mad about it. It's a simple fresh smelling scent and definitely a skin scent. The pear comes through beautifully as a top note. Smells like you just got out of the shower to me, maybe also because the scent reminds me of a Kerastase shampoo. I wouldn't mind if it lasted longer! Will be reaching for it on warmer days.

FemaleDog

The other reviews are spot on that this smells like a pear-scented shampoo. It gives a pretty simple, clean scent that's inoffensive, fresh, and fruity in a light way. I agree with Laura below that it layers really nicely with a simple rose scent. I've paired it with Rose Alcane (a metallic rose/rose oxyde smell) and can see myself going for this duo for in warmer months when I want to smell fresh.

Ismelllikeuniconrs21

Fresh, simple, clean but cosy at the same time. As with all JHAG perfumes, it is a MUST to try it on your own skin.

It's 'Not a perfume's little sister, a bit more fun and playful. To me it really just smells like ambroxan and pear, which is super nice. It makes me think of a fizzy pear soda in a cute, cartoony can. What disappoints me is the sillage- this is almost unnoticeable. It's a very cute spring- summer scent, almost unisex, but still leaning feminine. It does smell like shampoo to me, but in a good way: fresh, clean, bubbly.

The big downside, in terms of scent alone, is the simplicity. It's completely linear, no cjange whatsoever, which gets boring quickly. However, this also makes it very easy to wear, especially as a daily scent.

I would consider buying a full sized bottleif they released a 'Superdose'/ intense version of it, as the sillage is just too disappointing.

So it seems like we’re all just naming things this reminds us of, so I’m going to throw out Bath and Body Works Pearberry from the 1990s (on dry down). Which, by the way, was one of my very favorite lotions back then.

So do I think this smells good? Yes. Would I spend money to smell like this? No. It’s a very straightforward pear + ambroxan that is pretty linear. It’s not innovative, unique, or even interesting, but it DOES smell nice. I have a miniature bottle of this that I can see myself reaching for on days where I want a simple, intimate smell, but I won’t be buying any more of this once it’s gone.

For a fraction of the price and better staying power, Abercrombie Fitch-Authentic Woman.

mixed thoughts on this perfume. I actually bought it by accident trying to get another travel size of Not a Perfume lol but I decided to to try it out instead of returning after seeing how many people love it. At first I sprayed it and wasn't impressed. It's hard to dislike it because it's a pretty generic smell, but I thought it just smelled like a fruity bath and body works body spray mixed in with Not a Perfume as a musk base. I think this is what a lot of the other reviewers are saying with the fancy shampoo smell, I could definitely see that. It's not too overly sweet fruity so I appreciate that, but its a pretty flat, simple, uncomplicated scent. However, since I do own the travel size I have found it's a nice scent for days where you don't want to wear a perfume, but want to smell a little better than usual. I even wore it on a short hike with friends the other day just to feel fresh and clean. the simplicity and non sickly sweetness works well in hot weather too, where other scents could begin to be stifling. I will say I think for the times I would want to wear this scent, a much cheaper body spray probably could suffice, and it doesn't really have the lasting power that would justify the price imo

Lemondoodle

I’ve never been a fan of pear scents but this is one of my top 3 favorites. Fruity and Fresh but with depth and grown up.

delicateneonkisses

synthetic pear smell that gives me a headache unfortunately

Kimberhitu

If you love musk but want something with a fruity note in it, you would love this.

I love clean scents but citrus perfumes after a while start to get a bit boring to me. When I first smelled this I immediately thought that it smells like a fancy shampoo. Someone could walk by you with wind blowing through their hair and u smell this super clean musky scent that amazes you.

When u firsy apply this it smells like a juicy pear with hints of musk. As it dries down u get more of that clean musk scent.

I myself can’t smell this on me after 5 minutes or so but others can if they sit next to me. Longevity isn’t great, I would say it lasts about three to four hours on me. For the price it is a bit dissapointing but honestly I really love the scent so I don’t mind that much.

Laura2979

This smells like a musky fancy pear shampoo, clean with a touch of sweetness. I layer it with not a perfume by JHAG and have also layered it with Moroccan rose by tree hut and it smells glorious! Lasting power isn’t amazing but it stayed on my clothes for days. This is a daytime anywhere type of fragrance and is a beautiful change for my usuals sweeter vanilla based perfumes. Sometimes you want to just feel girly fresh and clean and this does exactly that! I’ve worn it in the winter and summer during the day and works well for all seasons!

stelansia

this is like the more mature version of Davidoff's cool water for women, much less aquatic and much more musky.
In the beginning it smells fruity, almost citrusy, it has a clean, "fresh out of the shower", but playful vibe but when it dries down it's really similar to "not a perfume".
So if you're a fan of not a perfume but you'd like it to be a bit more that just a skin scent this is a safe buy.
As for the seasons, I don't think it has one cause as someone said it smells like a soft cashmere sweater as well as a day at the beach sunbathing and eating fruit.

astronaut

Opens with a juicy, sweet pear note that I wish stayed longer. The dry down is okay--JHAG sure loves their ambroxan and musk notes.

Review:
Bought the fragrance off amazon for $130 Aud. When I first smelt it in store, I found the immediate spray to be a lovely pear scent, though with a generic musky dry-down after a few hours that leans feminine. Now that I have it, I find that the pear scent is also very sweet, to an almost sickening amount. It has an average longevity and almost no sillage.

Overall: 6.5/10

Will wear but will definitely not buy again.

jasmine27

it smells subtle and comforting. the scent that smells like your skin, but better - a bit sweeter and sophisticated. reminds me of a cashmire sweater - very cozy. i loved it!

ants_ants_ants

To me it smells like shampoo, not very pear smelling but a bit fruity. It smells clean.
There's not much to it but I like it, I wish it was more projecting and lasted longer, for me it lasted 2hrs.

Sapri

The first time i wore this i thought i really loved it but now that i've worn it a few times i don't care for it on me. It's just ok. It smells like a sweet perfumed pear. It's not super overpowering and projects a little but not a ton so if that's your vibe you may like it.

It smelled sweet enough on me that ants wanted to get on me right where i sprayed it, but i don't think that's a common issue 😂

XxRosexX

I have a soft spot for perfumes with an obvious pear note, buy admittedly I feel they often have a childish quality about them like for example Katy Perry Purr and ever Jean Paul Gaultier La Belle, but I actually don't find this childish despite its simplicity. It's an elegant pear. If a soliflor is a perfume that frames and features a single floral note guilded with complementary facets, then this is a solifruit, and the other notes take it out of teeny bopper territory. This is more like the receptionist who works at your office who is a really pretty and sweet girl next door type that doesn't try too hard, and is even more easy to like because of it.

anamawsity

At the initial spray, I really liked how sweet this was, but after about 10 minutes, the sweetness faded and I was just left with a musky pear scent. Not a bad smell, just not for me. It’s also a very subtle scent that needs multiple sprays to get a significant scent payoff.
In terms of perfumes people have compared this to–

-Clean Radiant Nectar: I personally don’t see a resemblance since Radiant Nectar is much sweeter
-Ariana Grande God is a Woman: much sweeter, more similar to Radiant Nectar than Pear Inc
-Glossier You: nothing alike, this has a very gross musky scent on me

FlowerSeeker

Opened with a sweet ripe juicy pear! The musk showed up soon after. It mellowed into a pear-ish amber. Notes of vanilla arrived much later. There was an unusual moment where I smelled armpit for a while but it went away. Even so, I think this is my favorite pear fragrance.

KatePal

I've heard that Pear Inc. is similar to Another 13 by Le Labo, but I don't think so. It is a separate entity and a good one. The Pear note starts very sweet and candy-like then it mellows down and musk with Amboxan give it a more sophisticated feel. The only but big disadvantage is that the perfume is very close to the skin with no sillage even though the staying power is very long (on my skin). The scent is very calming and good for Gym or just hanging around the house.

Alejandro.e.super

Pear Inc. Is absolutely wonderful. Simple enough to enjoy and it is a compliment getter. People will tell you that you smell good! Very fresh and uplifting, very smooth and soft. It is also great for layering. I'd say it leans a tiny bit more feminine but as a straight male I wear this very often out of my 60+ frag collection. It is very inoffensive so people won't be offended in enclosed spaces. You can easily get this at a discounter.

cassandragood27

Smells good and fresh. Definitely ok to wear with sensitive people. Spring summer, wish it was. a bit stronger but looking to purchase.

Ariete76

More than fruity, it seems musky... the musky components are very strong, the pear is sweet and very noticeable as soon as you spray it, but too much musk almost covers it! It has a smell that reminds me of an "apple" hair shampoo that I used as a child...almost a skin scent, too bad I love pear and I would have liked to smell it a lot more! What is certain is that being a molecular person reveals himself for what he is.... and honestly they are starting to get a little annoying.

TalentedMrWest

I bought this for my wife & myself (I have enough "Manly" colognes, unisex is my new favorite). I didn't spray it on myself or my clothes. Like I do all new scents after reading various reviews, I sprayed 5 times in my bathroom. Twice in the shower, three times over the laundry (doesn't stink, I just do it to test things like projection and longevity as if someone else has a scent on). About 8 hours later and it still smells like someone used a fresh enjoyable smelling shower product anytime we go within 4 feet of the door. It is potent to both of us. Sometimes, over sprayed fragrances are labeled as weak or short lived. Other times one spray doesn't get the job done. Maybe I'll wear it tomorrow and go nose blind immediately. Or my wife will wear it and it will be too much with just two sprays. Try it for yourself if you can before listening to anyone online. As for the fragrance itself I'd give it an 7.5 out of 10 overall because it smells like a shower gel that I'd use often but it just happens to be a spray. The pear and musk makes it something different enough to stand out from my Hacivat or Bond or Aventus type scents. My wife rates it an 8 out of 10 but wishes it was less potent and wouldn't wear this in an office setting.

yooji

This smells like a fresh candied pear in a body wash, in the best way. I don't usually like ambroxan on its own (like in Not A Perfume) as it smells a bit off on my skin, so I like the addition of pear in this to make it a tad more interesting and crisp. This shines in warmer weather but is still suitable for cooler weather as well, it just stays very close to your skin.

This is an easy reach for days you don't want to wear anything that projects a lot and simply want to smell fresh/clean. However, like others have said, longevity sucks for the price.

XOXO_marcel

Sweet candied caramel pear. A very artificial dessert-like scent. I like it, but don't love it. It's nice enough for casual days in winter.

enittine

People say this is boring and one-dimensional. I like the simplicity of this perfume. No fuss pear perfume that is great for daily wear. It might not turn heads yet I am happy smelling myself when I wear this. This is one of the perfumes I picked up randomly when I started my niche perfume discovery journey alongside other popular perfumes (Nishane 100 Silent Ways, etc) yet I still go back to this perfume as it fits the type of floral/fruity scents that I like.

Mil99718

Very clean and fresh! Has an almost shower gel kind of smell to it.

I will say if you do buy this, spray it once and then leave the bottle to sit for a few days. When I first got this it didn't smell like the one I sampled in the shop, but leaving it to rest after a spray helped a lot. I think maybe it needs to rest for a bit first.

Doesn't last well on the skin but lasts a long time on clothes! Definitely an intimate smell, perfect for the office as it smells very clean and inoffensive. I usually spray this on my shirt and get little whiffs of the pear and muskiness all day!

Frafrea3848

This perfume doesn't make me feel anything. This is how the future smells like. Boring and synthetic.

Ptichkaa

I tried this in a shop and I looooved soapy crispy pear opening of this scent! But unfortunately it gave me a massive headache in like 20 minutes :(

Fragaddict4u

My clean easy reach scent that never lets me down. Very juicy pear reminiscent of candied apple with a tinge of citrus all resting on a pillowy soft cloud of Cetalox. Very long lasting and diffusive on myself. Reminiscent of freshly pressed laundered clothes or a high end hotel lobby. I’m left with a fresh sweet musk with a hint of powder, that envelopes me all day in a cloud of bliss. Luvs it.

jessgio

This is what I wear when I’m not sure what else to wear, or when I’m in an environment where I want to smell good but not in a highly noticeable way. I love the scent, but it doesn’t last very long on my skin. It lasts for days on my clothes though! It’s a little tart at first, but I like that in a perfume.

questionmark

Glossier You, with pear accents and without the pink pepper corn. Beautiful inoffensive scent. Smells like shampoo or clean skin and a very close scent. The pear note is not cloying and blends beautifully in the ambroxan, close skin, slightly aquatic scent. It does also smell like Dolce & Gabbana Light Blue but it's so beautiful! I can't hate it. It's less aquatic than light blue imo.

sofia.mb7

SuurkaalsPoeten

Reminds me of cerutti 1881 for her.

cloudfruit

she's cute! the longevity is actually criminal for the price however

supersimi

Delicious, clean, fresh pear. Unfortunately it disappears minutes after spraying, within 1h I cannot smell anything on skin any more. Better if sprayed on clothes. I have finished my travel spray but won't be purchasing a full bottle as the longevity is so poor, which is a big shame.

Faeriecoma

This perfume is so subtle I don’t notice I’m wearing it. It’s such a close to the skin scent I cannot believe the rave reviews about it, and the pear fades so quickly too. I am confused I thought all the commotion about this perfume in particular was that it at least projected. She’s cute but I wish the pear lasted and that I could at least smell it after an hour.

demitour

I'm in love with the pear opening. Really sad that it SOMETIMES (???) dries down to an almost sour smell on my skin. Sometimes it's fine. Really confused; I don't know what causes this.

santiniansia

I ended up giving away my travel spray. It was a blind buy that I never even wore. Too much ambroxan.

eva.daisy.88

Super juicy fruity pear creation. Absolutely not what I was expecting, it smells delicious. Particularly on a warm day.
I get the pear, with ambroxan hints, and the super fruitiness seems to come from ambrettolide (I did google how it smells like, so then it made sense that’s probably what I’m smelling). Overall beautiful perfume that lets me wanting for more.
The scent unfortunately is very fleeting, sits close to my skin and disappears within 2 hours. I wish there was a concentrated version with bigger projection that lasts the whole day.
Very beautifu!

BD2-5-0

Fantastic pear opening with a musk and ambroxan dry down. I honestly love the smell but it sadly doesn’t last more than an hour. I love a good close to the skin scent but the lack of longevity just makes this not worth it.

juliadol

I really like this but the longevity is brutally low. I may try spraying my clothes to see if that gets it to last more than an hour

nicolespeedyfast

Pear Inc surprised me because I expected some fruity sweetness in the opening, but all I could detect was single-note pure ambroxan. If I tried this blind I would have just assumed that it was Not A Perfume. On first try I got the impression that Pear Inc was just the longer lasting formulation of the same fragrance; whereas Not A Perfume lasts maybe 3-4 hours, Pear Inc lasts a full 10+ hours.
Only comparing them side-by-side could I detect the *very* light pear and fruity accords of Pear Inc, whereas Not A Perfume comes across as the darker, sharper, musky, more masculine of the two. I truly don’t believe that the average person needs both in their collection, but if I had to choose between the two I’d stick with Not A Perfume for its layering ability. Neither are safe blind buys in my opinion.

MyAlabasterJar

Simple juicy watery pear and musk. Classic JHAG. I adore Ambroxan so I’m always down for this line. The pear is subtle and sweet on skin but much bolder on clothing or linens (love to spritz this on my bed). On days I want to feel cute, sweet and youthful, I’ll spray this but not a ‘grown woman scent’ IMO. Linear with no interesting turns but all round pretty good. Performance is sadly lacking and after an hour there’s nothing on skin.

rosiekposie

PEAR.

On my skin, it's very soapy, then dries into a more masculine/musky smell. But a musky soapy pear.

On my clothes it starts as very PEAR. Bright, authentic pear. Dries into a cola smell to me. Then dries further back to bright shampoo pear.

Both places dry down into more of a synthetic pear than I'd prefer. Smells good but smells like fake pear.

Pear pear pear.

hot_imouto

This reminds me a lot of The Body Shop's White Musk L’Eau Eau De Toilette. I was disappointed by the longevity, I only got about 4 hours in total. It's also not strong at all. Not worth the price to me. White Musk L’Eau is way cheaper and very similar.

Moonfume1918

This! This is the simple skin out of the shower scent I’ve been looking for. I love it

AinoKaroliina

I can really smell the juicy, sweet, just a little bit tart pear and even the skin of the pear. The other notes are more in the background complementing the star of the show - the pear.

This is the most realistic pear smell that I have come across in a fragrance. Enjoyable.

SSBurn

This is a super easy going scent. It’s what I call a bowing bubbles scent. Something about fresh, lightly sweet, pear forward scents reminds me of the bubble blowing liquid in a good way! This is my go to anytime I don’t feel like wearing something specific. And it’s also an easy gym scent. Non offensive and pleasant.

Renniemoney

smells like pears lol

bajablast

Initially a fruity pear, but transformed into a musk on my skin. Great longevity. It's never gotten me a compliment but I wear it for myself. I'll be tucking it away for next summer. Love

Silverbell

I guess this is the most of a pear we will get. I thought it would smell more like Jo Malone's English Pear & Freesia since all the other perfumes with pear in it are always powdery. This one is very aquatic though, like a watery fresh pear, to the point that it's chemically fresh and smells like dish soap. This isn't what I thought it would smell like but it's not bad. Just disappointing and mid. I really don't get the hype. If you want to smell like dish soap it's all yours lol.

I don't know, it's hard to get a pear right. Either it's too powdery like a granny or chemically fresh. I doubt I'm going to find a sparkling pear that doesn't make me a little nauseous.

Titiana

Can’t get over the resemblance of “Dawn ultra platinum free and clear” dishwashing spray. This is so similar to Pear Inc 😝.I had no idea that this particular dishsoap has a pear scent, until I started using it, and remembered this fragrance at once, then read the fine print on the label “with light pear scent”, so it’s not my imagination…don’t want to smell like this especially for this price. It’s too simple

ty18

doesn't live up to the hype... too simple and just in-your-face pear there's not much else

smithaker

Perhaps it's the ambroxan but this is interpreted wildly differently by each wearer. On me it is not strong at all and I find myself seeking the pear. It fades quickly to a nice close musk, but that's not the purpose of perfume with "pear" in the name.....so it's not for me.

pauroj

strong super strong, a little bit plastic, and very sweet it has a pastry kind of feeling to it

Caroline22

Juicy aquatic pear + ambroxan, perfect for the warm days when you want something nice and simple. I really like the scent itself but it's so weak and fleeting. We need a Pear Inc Superdose! I'm gonna stash the bottle for now in hopes that it macerates a bit.

alannawangoom

I think this perfume is a little over hyped. It’s ok but it doesn’t last that long on me and it doesn’t really project either. It’s a shame because I does smell alright. I do like the other perfumes from this line like Not A Perfume and MMM…

smithaker

For me, I get a blast of synthetic pear up front, but a quick fade to a (pleasant but boring) dryer sheet. Poor sillage and poor longevity. Probably just a matter of my own chemistry, but would not buy again.

maidem

This is a very likeable, fruity scent. After the dry-down, it definitely leans towards a musky and amber-y second-skin like scent. As others have mentioned, it is an easy scent to reach for and I could imagine myself purchasing a full bottle to wear in an office scenting since it does not smell inoffensive.

Margoose

NAP with a pear float. I get compliments when I wear this, it’s perhaps my favorite “clean” aesthetic scent. NAP is great on my personal chemistry so this works nicely too; a little spicy, barely woody ambery warmth with a side of clean musk. Pear floats on top during the opening and hangs out for a bit. Even the dry down hours later smells like, but it still distinct from, NAP. The fruit/wood is what has people thinking of DG Light Blue, but that’s the extent of it. Light blue is much drier and woodier to my nose, the opening much more astringent citrus (i’ve always liked light blue). Pear Inc. could be its warmer cousin but not its sibling. Like NAP, the success of this on you depends greatly on your personal chemistry, so give this test. Longevity is stellar, I sprayed this at 5:30am and at 10:04pm I’m getting gently wafts up from my chest. Not the most complex or exciting out there, but the dumbest of reaches any time of year.

ryetoast

smells like the expensive shampoo your mom told you not to use in middle school that you definitely poured a giant amount into your hair

randomname

I don't get it. It smells like synthetic pear for a few minutes, and then...? Huh? I guess it smells kind of like something, but it sure isn't amber. There's no warmth to this.

Fwiw, I also don't understand Not A Perfume, so if you can smell whatever is appealing about NAP, maybe you'll like this...? I don't hate it, because there isn't enough there to hate. But it kind of smells like what I imagine a pear White Claw to smell like. Cold, synthetic pear with some other chemical something. Idk, I just don't get these types of fragrances.

QueOndaGuera

Strangely drawn to this perfume and I don’t know why. Its performance is lacking and the beautiful pear top note is fleeting. But here I am reconsidering getting a bottle after my tester runs out. The pear is a bright juicy pear that I wish lasted longer as the dry down is very much like Not a Perfume. This isn’t offensive but it leaves me wanting more. I loved combining this with B&BW Emerald Mist lotion. Now that was a good pear scent.

juliajulia10

It smells like Not A Perfume mixed with pear juice. Initial spray is juicy ripe pear, pretty fresh and fun and the dry down very similar to Not A Perfume.

This fragrance is very nice, a safe blind buy however the longevity is poor, 2 hours on my skin max. Have to reapply multiple times

Vertsu

A linear pear cologne, very weak performance. Nothing special, way overpriced. 2/10.

ecaeris

deeshla57

This brand gets a lot of hate and criticism for its (lack of) longevity. That's valid. But for those of us that don't need a perfume to stay with us all day or are okay with a subtle skin scent effect -- these criticism are no deterrent. JHAG Not A Perfume is one I've used and sort of liked -- but found it incredibly limited. Pear Inc., however, gives me this comforting blast of pear -- like a real, juicy in-my-face pear -- and dries down into that musky skin scent that sits very intimately in my own personal space. I really love this one thought I'm not sure it is worth the price. I keep the travel spray in my purse when I need a pick me up. It serves me as aromatherapy when I need to feel comforted.

CarnationCelt

You guys remember Bubbaloo? Haven't seen it here in the UK for a minute, maybe it's still alive and well in other countries, but the first spritz of this immediately transported me back to that first bite of either the blue or green one.

It does wind down soon after into a yummy fruity-fresh concoction, and honestly the shampoo comparisons are very apt - this smells super fresh and clean but not overpowering. Like Not A Perfume, this sits comfortably on the skin and doesn't demand that everyone in a five mile radius smell it as well. It's the kind of non-invasive, subtle scent that JHAG are best at. I can't think of an environment where it wouldn't be welcome.

scnova

Been using this for a few months now and I adore it. On my skin it smells like a slightly more grown up version of green apple suave detangler that I used as a kid. It’s fresh, light and juicy. However I do wonder if I am noseblind to ambroxin and musk. I get none of that from this perfume. Either way, it’s my new favorite.

faithann

I bought it after wearing out a sample so quickly. The shampoo effect is a plus, it always smells fresh and clean. The musky dry down coupled with the crispness of the pear that verges on green apple makes this a more versatile fragrance for me than many others seem to find it. Especially living in a hot climate, I see myself wearing this often in the fall and appreciating the sharp pear note instead of reaching for something more gourmand. Plenty of possibilities for layering this with deeper or spice forward fragrances as well to wear it all year.

NickiGB

I slept on this one for a long time. Picked it up on a whim because I was craving an easy reach sweet and musky scent for every day. Well. I've been wearing it EVERY. DAY. It's just the right amount of sweet, fresh, and warm musk. If you like Glossier You, you will like this too. I wish it projected more, but I do get gorgeous whiffs of it throughout the wear. This will be that easy-going, run errands, t-shirt/jeans staple in my collection forever.

Spicy

Not a clone but still similar to Not a Perfume, could easily be a flanker. I prefer this one, it is more intense and has better projection. Gives amazing results when layering with other perfumes.

sjt422

This has become an every day scent for me. It’s hard not to like. It’s an easy wear and still manages to smell sexy in that clean, freshly washed hair way. I’m surprised there aren’t more comparisons to D&G Light Blue intense though. It has a similar (more pear based) profile and maybe just a bit more airy.

mermaidylady

I like this! Shampooey pear at the top but dries down to a Glossier You-like skin musk. Pleasant, fresh and clean, but not full bottle worthy at the price.

Whateverwhocares

Linear, sweet pear with an amberous nuance. Quite nice and wearable. Unisex with a feminine lean. Very cute scent.

OtherPeople'sChildren

Fresh shampoo-y pear, medium longevity for a freshie. The musk is barely noticeable and not interesting on my skin chemistry. Pleasant for the clean, pear scent, but not what I expected for the price.

Blueberries

A spring/summer freshie with citrus, ambroxan, pear, a bit of musk. Would wish for more pear, initially there's a burst of it but on my skin it quickly withdraws and remains in the background of the citrus. A very pleasant, natural pear note. Ambroxan can often be harsh to me but here it's not overpowering.
Pear Inc is a like for me but leaves me wanting a hint more body, warmth and sweetness. If it had that, I'd also find it more at p(e)ar with the price.
Moderate longevity on me. Pears up well.

DaintyEssence

So PEAR IT IS. Juicy creamy pear. it is very summery fragrance - has scent of cleanliness and freshness that you need when you are hot in sunny day.
Im okey with it and will wear it gladly. It is more like everyday use scent.
But it is so simple that feels like overpriced. My favorite shampoo had that kind of smell 😅

Has good silage. And for me, that duration amounted to at least 8 hours.

OTA Mom

Ambroxan ruins this one for me, I just cannot get past its nose tingling annoyance.

The13thHour

Pear Inc is the only perfume that I owned from JHAG. I really loved it. It is a very pear-aquatic powdery-musk perfume. I only wore it at home during the spring and summer. I started out with just the vial before I got the big bottle. I knew it was going to take me a long time to finish it as I only wore it 3-4x times a year max. 2 years later, the fragrance has definitely changed. The pear note is very weak and the musk is gone. Now it smells more like baby powder. I would recommend buying the smallest mL and save your money.

Somniferum

This is the one I get compliments on.

I mean, I do like Pear Inc. I will admit to an affinity for “clean” fragrances and Pear Inc certainly qualifies as that. It is nothing if not well balanced. It’s clean and fresh and musky. There is depth from the ambroxan and juicy, fruity sweetness from the pear. We’ve all smelled something like this before and yet, it’s special.

Ambroxan can be tricky and I would humbly suggest the complaints about lasting power could be temporary noseblindness. Rest assured, you are smelled. And it always comes back a little later in the day. At least, for me it does.

No it isn't groundbreaking. I can't even call it one of my personal favorites. It is however almost without fail the one someone will ask me about followed by “omg you smell amazing!”

Go figure.

Mvaldesvila

It's like an expensive shampoo type of scent. It's fresh and clean, but the performance is horrible. I've doused myself at 8 am in the morning, and I feel like I can't smell it by 10 am. I wil decant for next uses and respray, but it's just not worth the price.

Sbg9s

It smells great. Fresh, clean pear scent. The downside is that it's pretty intimate and does not last that long. I might still buy a full size because I really like the scent.

Ki.marie

This is perfect until it’s not. The initial spray you get fresh shampoo pear scent then about three hours later you are left with a heavy molecule/musky scent. I wouldn’t recommend spraying this on your clothes because that musk really stays on your clothes for months.

I was thinking one way to sweeten the musk is by Layering this with Nemat Amber oil

kitkatya

sweet, juicy, exciting! very pretty, but not extremely special; made me think: "I like pear notes, I should look for them elsewhere!" But I do wish I could buy a more lasting perfume that was just the pear in the top of pear inc! Drydown is an almost smoky ambroxan cuz JHAG had to ruin a nice thing

AbbyLaRue

I got a sample of this with a Sephora order and fell in love. The sweet, juicy pear was the most prominent note and there was a little bit of amber-y musk in the background. I splurged on the full size bottle (the most I’ve ever spent on a single bottle of perfume) and was disappointed to discover the bottle contains much less pear than the sample.

All I get from the bottle is sweet, almost smoky, musk. It’s by no means the pear forward scent I fell in love with. That being said, It’s undeniably a pretty fragrance with impressive sillage and longevity, it’s just not what I thought I was getting at the time of my purchase. I gave my bottle to my mom and she loves it. I’d describe the bottle as having a true skin scent, similar to Amber Romance from Victoria’s Secret but with some smokiness and just a tiny bit of pear in the background. My mom sprays one or two spritz every day before work and I can smell it when she comes home at the end of the day. It lingers on her coats, seatbelt and anything else that she wears close to her body; it’s become her signature scent. Because this is such a “skin scent” I feel it could be worn any time of year, day or night!

Faheema_K

This perfume is really beautiful in an airy clean way. Realistic pear note in the opening & the dry down has a slight Not a Perfume/another 13 vibes but more subtle / muted

Arrows

Finished the 100ml of this. At first I really didn’t like this scent, thought it was too weak given the price tag…which still remains true imo. Although, I must admit I found myself quite enjoying this perfume as it settles really well on the skin and I did get a few compliments when I sprayed a lot of it. Overall I don’t think I’d repurchase it immediately just due the lack of longevity but it is an amazing pear scent if you’re looking for that clean, non-offensive scent profile.

cunt.dracula

This is for the pear lovers! Omg, it's mostly pear and musk. It lasted about 5 hrs. The sillage was arm's length during the first hour, then decreased. I think this is a great date night scent. It's very sexy. The pear in this, reminded me of Jean Gautier's La Belle. Not a dupe, but familiar.

It's definitely unisex, but leans more female.

HannahRosesAreRed

Pear is a fantastic note. Sweet, fresh and fruity, even a little sensuous in places. What's not to love? I thought that I would like this more, given how straightforward and likable these notes are. But Pear Inc. didn't work on my skin. Upon first spray, it was chemical, synthetic and screechy. It became sweeter, tamer and more shampoo-like upon drying down and opening, and at first, I really liked that. But then it faded within the hour.

I'm perplexed by this. Normally, musks and ambers together cling to my skin, responsible for the majority of the best performing scents I've tried. I wonder if my skin chemistry just isn't a good match for this perfume, because I certainly didn't experience what everyone else here seems to. Even if it was better performing, I can't get past that artificial opening, or the rather simplistic, linear scent, at least not for the price. I'll pass, and leave it for those of you who've had better luck with this fragrance.

amelkoooo

AMAZING TOPNOTE! Reminds me of pear jellybeans!! A shame it doesnt last that long:(

leximayxo

Simple linear inoffensive juicy pear. Reminds me of pear soda. I like it but wouldn't buy a full size once my travel spray runs out.

creamyandlight

Woah, this really has a photorealistc pear topnote! I wouldn't say it smells like a soapy shampoo at all, other than the fact that it's a fresh scent. Way too musky for me.

Jscents39

I love this for the simplicity. Fruity, fresh, shampoo like pear. It’s not ground breaking, and not every perfume needs to be! I like to layer with dedcool milk/riddle oil to add a bit of depth.

Saffron pink

A ripe juicy pear which remains mostly dominant with musk on my skin. The ambroxan is slightly woody
I love it.

gorgeous_and_strong

Imagine, if you will, a delightful pear. Earthy green, bulbous, and sweetly scented - an unmistakable fruit! The pear before you is ripe, the perfect time to bite in. What a simple pleasure it will be, the taste of the pear in your mouth, not too tart, not too sweet, the texture crisp with just the right amount of resistance to your bite: a summery, fragrant crunch!

Now imagine the pear wrapped in cellophane, sitting under florescent light, the last remaining fruit on a corner shop shelf, it's journey from a land many many miles away ended. It's out of season, but a pear is a pear, right? The plastic wrap, a necessary preservative if we want the thing to last, has imparted an undeniable chemical aftertaste to the simple fruit's skin. You aren't unhappy with the experience, but it's not like you remember when you were a kid. Half the pear ends up in a green wastebin on a street corner in Greenpoint. That's Pear Inc. The contemporary world provides untold levels of convenience. But has loveliness been left behind?

Katchke

Pear is sweet and fresh, a little too sweet for my taste, and between the two pear note perfumes I have tried I think I definitely prefer English Pear and Freesia by Jo Malone. However, if you love fruity perfumes that have more depth than just a flat sweet note, this is an excellent choice :) Sillage/lasting isnt super impressive, but its such a cute spring scent, its definitely worth testing. Sweet, but tartness of the pear does come through and it feels very fresh :)

tybaltsway

When I first bought this I was kind of turned off at how synthetic it smelled, but I've been trying it out again after forgetting about it for a while and surprisingly I find myself reaching for it a lot. I think what I like about this is how inoffensive it is, the pear note still feels very synthetic but in a shampoo kind of way, so it makes me feel clean and fresh as the weather is getting warmer. Also I'm a sucker for ambroxan so the drydown is great.

Jrkd70

I am trying this for the 1st time right now. When I first sprayed it I liked the scent so I went ahead and put it on as I would any other scent of this type (slightly heavy but not overboard) - now, about 20 min later, my eyes are reddening/allergic reaction and I keep catching a whiff of something that I definitely don't care for.

I love the scent of pears and the original Not A Perfume - I don't smell either, at all. I know I am not allergic to any of the ingredients/notes listed but I am most certainly having some sort of reaction. Has anyone else experienced this? Must be one of the inert ingredients maybe? Weird.. gotta get this stuff off, NOW.

* scrubs off very easily which is a bonus

astralmonad870

I’m completely nose blind to this and all JHAG perfumes at the Harrod’s counter for some reason. So I don’t know what this one smells like :( I stick with my Clean Reserve Radiant Nectar subscription from Carethy.

dj71

This is a pleasant scent, but on my skin this smells very citrus-y and I only got a whiff of pear for a brief time. I can see why people are comparing it with Light Blue.

emmie<3

I bought this perfume to wear on a spring break trip to Costa Rica and it was amazing for that! It does kind of smell like shampoo or a bath and body works perfume-- but one that smells really good. It's clean and fruity and a bit sharp at first but that fades after about 15 minutes. Its a little weird because usually scents last longer on my skin but this perfume fades so fast on my skin but lasts on my clothes for DAYS! This scent is nothing crazy special (to me) but its certainly not bad. I bought the travel size but don't think I'll buy the full bottle.

djevelhelvete

Everyone is saying is like NAP but for me, Pear Inc is like NAP Superdose and Light Blue had a child, very sweet, but not sickly sweet, fresh and sharp because of the ambroxan.
I reaaaaally like it. People saying they can’t smell it they are totally getting anosmic to it because I rarely get anosmic and this is a bomb that lasted for hours!!
If you are into molecules this is not a disappointment although I would say it leans a little bit more on the feminine side but Im sure any guy will rock this fragrance too.

Dani D-va

Very pretty fresh, crisp, and slightly sweet pear! Finished up a mini but wouldn't purchase a full size bottle for the full price. Smells like a mid range fragrance to me so I can't justify the price for such a simple fruity scent that you can probably find at bath and body works.

AMajeedQT

Not A Perfume layered with D&G Light Blue.

A fluffy musky scent, with a moderate dose of citrus, & a touch of peary/fruity sweetness.

Musky, clean, fresh, lightly-citrusy, & mildly-sweet.

This is a scent for those who are looking for clean, musky, &/or easy to reach scents. It's not soapy but does give you hints of clean soapiness or detergent-like whiffs.

While it leans feminine with it's fruity sweetness, Pear Inc is easily unisex. I like to wear it myself as a man.

The pear note appears more prominently in the later satges of the perfume, so don't write it off if you found the opening somewhat pear-less.

Neutral to warm weather wear.

Big "Like".

Koningin

It smells like a bodymist wnd ditto longevity and projection.
I even forgot I had it on 5 minutes after spraying it.
The smell is very girly and high schoolish. I wouldn’t pay more than 15€ for this.

Ghadah02

PERFECT PERFECT PERFECT

It gives a shampoo vibe which I adore, and I am obsessed, so fresh the pear is there and soft, and this is a cute one.

I love everything about this but the most is that it is cooling and not a warm scent.

My signature scent is Acqua di Gioia by Giorgio BUT I put this every day so this should be my signature scent and Acqua di Gioia by Giorgio is my second signature scent.

WearyWanderer

So apparently the Sephora Mother’s Day bundle decided to murder me with musk. Is this a thing? Are they trying to make it a thing? Nothing fits my style, personality, or chemistry worse. Sharp musk with a hint of pear and something sweet in the background, like… where’s the rest of it? Plus, the longevity is nonexistent—it’s gone from my wrist after a couple of hours, although frankly, good riddance.

Shaina87

I like NAP but it's nothing special for me. I love MMMM... and Lipstick Fever but I wanted a fragrance for the hot and humid summer days (it's scorching here in FL during the summer) and I found a 100ml tester for a steal from Aura, so I snatched it up. And surprisingly, I love this even more than I expected. It's a fresh and clean pear version of NAP. And it definitely has a shampoo vibe to it but in the best way possible. This is exactly what I hoped it'd be. It leans more on the feminine side imo and it is going to shine in the heat and humidity.

correspondencepersonal

I tried several Juliette Has a Gun perfumes - last night, and spritzed this to compare it to Lust For Sun.
This is much more low key and blends more into my skin than Lust for Sun. This was barely detectable compared to Lust for Sun.

I prefer the silage and the strength of Lust for Sun, but if you like a softer more classic perfume, I would definitely keep this in mind and try this, too.

Samanthabdel

I shit you not…. I put about 10 sprays of this on and cant smell it after 30 seconds. I have samples over 200 perfumes and this has never happened! Super bummed

Sunnydai

Usually I love vanilla and gourmand fragrances...but JHAG has me in a chokehold... got a sample of not a perfume and went down a rabbit hole ... Pear Inc is so fresh and juicy and musky...so soft but the silage was quietly powerful, complement getter!

isthisavailibleffs

A very juicy pear scent supported by strong musks and ambroxan, quite androgynous vibe to it, so a guy can pull it off as well. Sensational.

amudrechenko

Such a cool summer fragrance. Airy, juicy, easy to wear, super fresh and fruity. Does not contain any acidic citrus notes, which is great for me. Easy to pull off, easy to style. The musk in the base is not animalic at all.

cradiata

It was on my wishlist for quite some time and I finally purchased the bottle a couple of months ago. I ADORE the smell. It's one of my all-time favorites, so fresh and juicy. However the longevity and projection are non-existent. Such a shame!

fragmig

I don’t understand the reference to “Not a Perfume” or Grande’s “God is a Woman”. So so different fragnances, to me at least :D

Pear.inc resembles me much of summer, beach. It reminds me a very concrete smell of a wooden track in beach dunes, warmed up by sun, during a hot summer day, used by people passing by, covered in some fresh smelling sunscreens and body sprays. I like it a lot

Lenniecha

I love JHAG perfumes. Pear Inc. is no exception. Fresh is THE word. It really smells like a basket of fresh pear (green apple-ish). If you like the smell of a fresh pear, you will not miss with this one. Perfect for a day out doing activities in the summer.

LaMiaRosa

Was expecting it to be good because I know a lot of people love it, but this one is pretty "meh" to me. It's so weak I can barely smell it... I do detect pear but this is so faint I'm really struggling to comment on it. Disappointed!

indialpc

So I reviewed this previously saying it smells like garnier fructis shampoo which it does. But I have come around and weirdly love it now. It is pretty simple, clean, fruit shampooey, but that’s what I like about it. Inoffensive and clean and fresh and very intimate almost no sillage at all from what I can tell.
I actually went from not understanding it to buying a full size. It’s easy to layer too to either add a sweet note to something more woody or musky, or wear on its own. It’s a lot more versatile than I previously believed. I think I tried it in colder months before and that’s why I disliked it so much. Now that it’s getting warm I can’t wait to wear this every day when it’s hot out.
It is pretty overpriced for what I just described though. I bought a discounted bottle and would not have paid full price for a bottle.

CarlaN

If you are a pear girl like me, this is going to be your cup of tea. The pear here is the prettiest I've ever smelled in a perfume.
With Pear Inc. the search for the perfect everyday, spring/summer fragrance has come to an end.
I ask nothing more: simple, fresh, surprisingly realistic and comforting.
But this is not "fresh" as fresh is commonly intended, but rather "light", a whisper of a scent that nevertheless lingers through the day and reaches your nostrils when you least expect it, clings on your clothes and never really leaves you.
This kind of scent arrives where other complex ones cannot go: my perfume collection is big enough that I get tired even of the most beautifully mixed ones.
You cannot get tired of a perfume that literally smells like your skin and rain.
I agree with the previous reviewer that said they slapped pear on top of Not a Perfume: but this is exactly what makes it my dream scent.
🤍

bajablast

This is understated beauty. Masterful. Almost pretentious in its simplicity, yet entirely artistic. Nothing short of exceptional modern perfumery.

poolsoflaughter

I am not normally a fan of fruity and fresh perfumes (like light blue, which is immensely popular), but this one changed my mind. I wore this to an interview the other day (yes, I got the job) and it helped me to feel confident; it really does smell like freshly washed hair. It’s so very clean with just a touch of sweetness…I’ll catch a whiff and cannot believe it’s lasted all day. It may only agree with certain chemistry, so please give this one a try before writing it off…I’m glad that I did.

Vellocet

I often wonder if I should review JHAG perfumes because i’m a little anosmic to ambroxan which automatically makes my opinion very subjective and perhaps not fair, but i’m giving it a go anyway. Upon first spray the pear is very prominent and surprisingly photorealistic. Perhaps the most photorealistic pear i’ve smelled in a perfume. But to me, it doesn’t last long at all because of the ambroxan. Funny enough my sister is the total opposite. She finds ambroxan very heavy. If you are lucky to be able to smell ambroxan I believe this pear will last a long time on you. It’s definitely uplifting and lovely, either way

KwanKookie

Blind brought this and fell in love! Super clean, super fresh and bonus that's it unisex so me and my boyfriend kinda share it now. Fruity and musky but easy on the nose. It's shampoony so if you like smelling like freshly out of shower I highly recommend this. The performance is kinda meh, if you spray it on clothes and REALLY sniff it after a day you'll still kinda smell it but it last about 4-5hours on my skin.

Overall I like the simplicity and it'll probably be my new signature scent. I'd say you could easily find dupes of this cuz the main note is just pear but the depth this gives it probably difficult to duplicate. It's not special but it's a perfect everyday scent that won't give you a headache.

Caramel lady

Such poor performance, others agree but some seem to enjoy it so perhaps they’re ok with barely detectable scents.
It’s gone in less than an hour.

It was so bad that I emailed JHAG and complained (I’ve never done this before) no response from them.
Poor performance and poor customer service 👎🏾❌

My sister said "it's giving 99p store fragrance"... and I can't unsmell it 😭. It sits on my fragrance tray redundantly, I want to use it all up to get it out of the way, yet I don't want to use it at all!

Jasmineaeisha

One of the BEST scents out right now. Addictive & Fresh! I use Dove Original White Bar. Then EOS Fresh & Cozy body lotion. Complete Compliment magnet.

S.kekkonen

The most shampoo-y fragrance I've smelled so far, disappointingly boring

tomato12

Ok this is not bad but the opening smells exactly like garnier fructis flat iron protector spray! The drydown is pretty much just like not a perfume, which I prefer over this.

faithann

I tried this from a sample. Adore it. It does have the "shampoo" thing, but I count that as a positive. Extremely crisp clean skin scent.

disintigratedwoman

This smells pretty much as if JHAG slapped a fairly fresh pear note on top of “Not A Perfume”. You have that warm, musky, fuzzy ambroxan as the base note, cut with the sweetness and freshness of pear. Over time, the pear note dissipates into the background and you’re left with a slightly sweetened ambroxan skin scent. It’s not bad.

Some people here have described this as “shampoo-y” and I don’t disagree. Since I’m not crazy about ambroxan though, I don’t think I’ll be wearing this again.

My boyfriend really enjoyed it though :)

_jenevieve_

Shampoo. Just boring shampoo. I tried twice, it’s just so not my style. Like an uncomfortable interaction with someone when they won’t look you in the eyes. I guess Pear, Inc. and I will remain strangers.

RoseWearsPerfume

I am really enjoying this perfume! The pear note is so good. I wasn't sure how this perfume would perform, as many have said its a skin scent. So I've been wearing it for about a week now. 2 sprays to work, 1 on front of neck and 1 on back is a skin scent. I could smell myself all day, but no one else could. So i tried, double spray on front of neck, double on back of neck and double on each side of neck. People could smell me from about 1 meter away, and everytime I walked passed someone. Lots of compliments. Could still be smelled 6 hours into my shift. My co-workers said it smelled really nice and was not overbearing.

MakeupNeverSleeps

I love the pear note, but I'm not one for cetalox nor ambroxan. I wish I could find this scent but with a normal white musk base.

ankaradios

easy going clean girl compliment magnet. a gorgeous simple scent

Ground hound

Agree with the previous comment, another shampoo by JHAG.
And yes, charging that much for a ridiculously simple and light fragrance? There is Escada seasonal summer "happy" range for half the price and better scents :)
If you want quality pears (and not a dollar shop body spray that barely has pears among the shampoo smell), get Montale Wild Pears.

arizonaruby

If Magnolia Bliss is peach shampoo, then this is pear shampoo. It’s very fruity, soapy and musky. The sillage and longevity are also minimal - I can barely smell it after an hour. It’s fine but honestly you could get a cheap body spray that would smell and last the same.

Lindsayaw89

I absolutely love this perfume. It’s fresh, simple and bright. If I can’t decide on what perfume to wear, JHAG Pear Inc. never fails me. The pear note is lovely.

rachaeldawnp

one thing about me is i'm a pear girl. it is my number one favorite note (although i despise actually eating pears so i'm not sure if it's accurate to the fruit itself) and i think it's done beautifully here. i have a FS of this and i adore this fragrance. it's slightly aquatic, fresh, crisp, a tiny bit sweet, kind of musky (like all JHAG perfumes) and overall an inoffensive scent. if you like not a perfume, this is like its lighter, airy sister. it's perfect for brightening up heavier perfumes or worn alone. if you already have a 'your skin but better' perfume then you don't need this one, but if you're on the hunt for one, look no further! the spritzer is also a dream, i have never encountered a more perfect spray to come out of a perfume bottle than a JHAG spray nozzle. maybe that's not too important, but to me it's like the cherry on top of even scent distribution.

silverlocusts

This is the perfume that ended my love affair with JHAG. Previously I raved about this house to everyone and recommended they try scents beyond Not a Perfume. Then came Pear Inc, which I was actually so excited to test. It is just yucky to me. I don't actively hate a lot of scents but this is one that I dislike so strongly even a couple of years after smelling it that I just get a little angry. It has a really fake candy-like pear and then a ton of JHAG's beloved ambroxan. And that is it! It smells like if you soaked your pears in laundry detergent after they spoiled. This perfume led me to see through JHAG's shtick, which is to put ambroxan on top of everything. I think they did this successfully early on but now it is just tired and grates on me. And yes, I can smell ambroxan and I actually like it. I think a lot of people who love this perfume probably cannot smell that oh-so-evasive molecule and they don't see how truly disgusting this blend is. Zero stars!!

mechawitch

this gives a fresh out the shower, fruity, shampooey vibe and i love it! i wear it whenever i want to feel clean and fresh. longevity and sillage are decent on me. however, i do feel it's a bit pricey for what it's offering... at the end of the day, it's quite linear and simple. luckily i got it for a really good price second hand, but otherwise i wouldn't have payed full price.

joikgirl

Smells exactly like Magnolia Bliss with a strong pear- the two are toilet fresheners. Really sad but true. Was hoping more.

Cooling321

If you’re complaining about performance you don’t get these perfumes.
They change YOUR scent, your natural musk.
And this dose it in a powerful fun and amazing away. Gauging it like that, it’s a beast. This will change your scent your skin scent for days.
Clever tool and very cool AND cheap. What’s not to love if you know the intentions of it? So long as you like pear hahahaha

zabekzuzia

Smells like magnolia bliss (which I don't like) but with pear

Edit: The second time i used it it smells like Not a Perfume but with pear, I dont know how one scent can smell so differently to me, but perhaps some magnolia bliss was still on my mind from the previous day, either way it’s a fine scent but this taught me a lesson on how some of Juliette has a gun perfumes are just carbon copies of each other with a little twist

jRoxy13

I have to caveat that Juliette has a Gun is not a brand I’ve every gelled with. And since they released Not a Perfume, it seems they have strayed so far from their original DNA that I’m confused what their POV is anymore. I do associate them with musk-heavy scents - and for me their love of ambroxan is just as scary because it also has the tendency to trigger long, severe migraines. Thankfully, I don’t get ambroxan out of Pear Inc.

This is such a simple perfume that there aren’t really any surprises. Except that it is a Parfum, but I got 3 hours with any projection, 2 as a skin scent, and 1 where it was just clinging on.

The first note that comes through is a burst of pear. It’s a sweet pear - I wish there was a bit more green from the skin - but it doesn’t veer over into sickly (it actually makes me want to seek out a good pear perfume!). After about 15 minutes the musk is more apparent. The pear and musk do blend nicely together, rather than feeling like two notes stacked on each other. 2 hours in the pear is very faint and at 3 hours it has become a skin scent. As the musk progresses, a Play Doh/plastic doll note comes out, which I’m not a fan of. Barely detectable at 5 hours and after 6 it’s gone. It didn’t give me a migraine, thankfully. Very little sillage (which I don’t mind).

Although I was pleasantly surprised with the pear/musk combo, it’s plasticky finish and lack of longevity make this not worth a purchase for me.

barwench

Interestingly, my partner and I had very different reactions to this one. Sprayed on a scent strip, this was so overwhelmingly sweet to me, it could give me a toothache. My partner thought it was light but not memorable. Different noses.

mkwhitney

I got this as a rewards redemption at Sephora without knowing anything about it. I do not like this on my skin. I'm newer to fragrances so I'm not great at identifying notes yet. I'm not sure if it's the pear or the musk but it smells very.. elderly? on my skin. Almost powdery. Like a mish-mosh of different old lady perfumes at Bingo Night at the Elks. Not for me.

oanamazilu

I tried this a while ago in a niche perfume shop and i was surprised of how good a pear perfume can smell! It had been on my bucket list and when I found it on sale, I immediately ordered it. At first, I smelled the juicy pear and felt so excited, but when it dried down, it was a slightly sweet skin scent. I think my expectations were way too high. I’m disappointed with the projection and the sillage but overall it is a good everyday fresh perfume. Not too overpowering and great for those who are sensitive to perfume. Excellent for warm weather. Too underwhelming for me, as a gourmand lover.

I received a sample of this from Sephora and after reading the reviews I was definitely excited. I love a fresh cut juicy pear note! I have been wondering why I don't pick up on pear because unfortunately all I get from this is musk overload. Even during the dry down it stays very musky. It's not a horrible fragrance it is just not what I was expecting. They should rename it Musk Inc.

scarlett.angel

I'd like it unfortunately ambroxan and whatever other chemicals are in this make me so nauseated and give me an instant migraine.

josephineds

if you told me this was a celebrity fragrance, I'd believe it... it's so light, weak, basic, close to the skin, it's pretty boring, the pear note isn't that strong, it's fresh, that's all I can say. I feel like even in summer this would be boring

Epsilonnnnn

D&G Light Blue for women and Le Labo Ambrette 9 had a baby and called her Pear Inc

girldeadbug

Smells just like Not a Perfume with an added crunchy pear note. Better than Burberry Her EDT. Great for summer.

Bejewled

A straightforward juicy pear-musk combination that draws one closer. The simplicity of the notes define this fragrance as a delightful-moderate "pick me up" scent. Pear Inc. leans towards a weak-moderate silage, but for some reason this makes me appreciate this fragrance more because it feels characteristically appropriate for this scent.

Maybe a bit sweeter than the norm, but this could pass as office appropriate fragrance.

Pear Inc. is a great no brainier "grab-and-go" youthful scent that even has the potential to be a signature scent.

bajablast

I didn't know what I had until I started testing other pear perfumes and fresh scents, and I have to admit, Pear Inc. is pretty stunning. I think this does stand out among others like it. These molecular notes are just so cool. It smells like a sweet, fruity skin. Like pheromones, or something.

Initially I wrote a bad review because of the longevity, which upon further testing I find to be around 3-4 hours. Still, I'm grateful to own a bottle. I received a compliment with this one so evidently there is some sillage. I couldn't say whether or not it's worth the money, but it was very pricey at Sephora...thanks mom😁.

cowboyfuel

Fizzy aquatic fruit that’s not supposed to be citric, but all I’m getting is lime on the opening. However, it dries down into a faint pear scent, and of course, lots of musk. It wouldn’t be JHAG without Ambroxan.

EmelieKristina

A fizzy, happy pear! It’s fresh, clean and uplifting. It smells like a pear popsicle (piggelin for my fellow swedes). It’s a shame that the performance is so poor. It’s completely gone after an hour, even after moisturising and over spraying including hair and clothes. And because of the poor performance I would not buy a full bottle.

LMBelvi

Very pleasant scent but quite low profile. What made it interesting was that fruity scents are often so sweet or on the powerful side and this is not at all. If you like a fruit/musk vibe but want it more close to the skin you might like it.

I would not buy it. Too faint of heart for me. But at least I finally found a JHAG scent that has some appeal.

I am on my second wear of Pear Inc from a sample set. The first wear I thought it was awesome, and I barely stopped myself from immediately ordering a full bottle. Today is my second wear, aaaand now? Not so sure. The drydown is not really going well this time around. The sweet pear scent was gone in just a couple of minutes, and less than 15 minutes after applying I am having to have my nose no more than two inches from my wrist to even get a whiff. I will use up the rest of the sample before deciding if it is a winner or not, but as of this second wear, it wouldn't be worth the splurge.

Edit - Deep, deep sigh. I decided to have my bath and then do another try on Pear Inc. So I did my usual full spray - one on each wrist, two on the chest, one on the front of my clothes. My standard. I sprayed, took a deep breath, and barely caught a whiff. So I doubled up and did the same thing again - another four sprays, plus one in my hair. It has been 10 minutes (yes, I timed it), and I barely smell anything. If I stick my nose right up to either wrist I can smell it, but other than that? Nope. Looks like this will not be a win.

Edit again - and as an extra kick in the pants, even though I can't smell it I am getting a headache. Excellent.

Catmo

This is a fresh effervescent pear. I wear this when I don’t feel well and everything else sounds sickening to me. It’s refreshing but still with a hint of sweetness so it isn’t sharp or soapy. I will have this forever in my collection.

Gummybear002

It smells like pear with other ingredients that don't belong. Really odd and smells like people were trying to be creative for no reason other then to say they did.

I like pear with classy white florals, this stuff doesn't belong. But it's not terrible. Smells like itnl belongs on men more

JakeHeart

This smells really nice but the performance is atrocious. I literally have to dig my nose in to smell it even only seconds after spraying it.

Kgrickey

This is so different from anything else I’ve owned. Most pear scents actually annoy me when they are mixed with sweet or dense accords (like with Ariana Cloud) But this musky aquatic scent is absolutely stunning. This smells like a feminine shampoo, but the scent itself is technically unisex. I like to buy dupes of expensive fragrances when I can, but I wasn’t able to find anything similar enough to warrant not buying this. I can’t wait to wear this in the Summer where it can project more. I see complaints about longevity. I do agree that there isn’t much of a dry down BUT on my clothes it will last weeks, very similarly to JHAG not a perfume. I absolutely adore this.

spiraphilia

Calling this a "shampoo" scent feels very generous, yes it smells like shampoo but only the kind that's practically soap and water in a bottle, selling for $1 and smelling dreadfully of green apple. I don't understand the decision to add pear and only pear to the musky ambroxan scent, the pear has this sort of sharpness that, when mixed with the musk, comes off sour and animalistic almost like sweat or urine to me. It's simplistic yet very in your face, making it unsophisticated as it's neither complicated nor mature.

Britneycollector

Smells great but it's Toilette (eau de toilette) – A light spray composition with five to 15 percent pure perfume essence dissolved in alcohol. Usually lasts for about three hours.

Misleading as it's definitely not EDP so don't waste your money

stinkyhera

I keep trying this but it's always so overwhelmed by the other perfumes I smell at the store 😭 like I think it's nice but I need to give it an actual fighting chance to be able to properly judge it

update may 2023: okay yeah, this one is def on the wishlist. the pear persists beyond its role as solely a top note, delicately sweetening the rest of the performance of the perfume. however, though I might have once said the longevity/intensity of the perfume sucks, I think the actual issue is that I just grow anosmic to this and NAP pretty soon after spraying. which I wish wasn't the case because I like them a lot

Minimijn

I just realised I haven’t reviewed this yet so I can say after months of owning and wearing Pear Inc that it’s a hit! It’s simple, light, fresh. Opens on pear really strongly but then the ambroxans take over and stay nice and fresh. Great for an everyday fragrance when you want to smell like something but don’t want to be too complicated. For me this is a blue, green and grey clothes scent, as I wear my rose perfume when I wear pinks and purples lol. But that’s the vibe, not too girly with a strong pear note and pretty okay lasting power unlike what I’ve read in other reviews! I guess I just have really strange skin chemistry, because when I smell my wrist after 6 hours it’s still there. Can’t comment on how detectable it is to others, though, I’ve gotten zero comments on it but that might just be the “not a perfume” part of Juliette has a Gun😂

Itiskimia

Omg i love how this smells! the pear is light, clean, crisp and fresh. it gives all the clean girl aesthetic vibes. a simple scent but it’s so pretty, it’s simplicity done right. However the performance is absolutely horrible, it last for literally thirty freaking minutes then it’s gone

emilia123

such a nice scent! I'm not the biggest fan of Not a Perfume, but that DNA mixed with pear does a lot for me. I thought this scent was very weak and intimate, but I guess I've gone noseblind to it because I've gotten compliments about it 6 hours after spraying from people that were a couple of feet away from me.

KerriZ

Smell the Pear...that is for certain. It is soft and subtle. JHAG is not my favorite brand so I am probably not the best judge.

indialpc

I cannot wrap my mind around this one. It smells exactly like Garnier Fructis shampoo&conditioner. Maybe it’s the L’Oréal Kids nostalgia that has folks gaga over this, but it’s a no from me dawg.

Airwrecka

A scent so soft as to be undetectable within about 20 minutes. That said, I am completely nose blind to NAP so perhaps others are smelling something I'm not. Not worth the money for me.

Cloelles

The best fresh clean just stepped out of the shower scent I have encountered. Very light almost indetectible scent. You skin but better category. A bit of pear shower gel and a bit of muskyness = clean skin after shower. Not too soapy or sweet or lotiony like other "soapy fresh" scents such as Jlo Glow(lotiony and strong) / Pure Grace(very strong and sweet laundry detergent powder). This is even better than Glossier You which smells like fresh pencil shavings with few frosted red berries in the background. This is softer, cozier and more clean skin-like. Big thumbs up for this one. Fantastic effortless clean soft scent that will offend no-one. Unisex, leaning feminine.

The downside is that it is sooo light(even with multiple sprays) and completely disappears within 15min. Facepalm.

natalijaostojic

Simply nice. Everyday light fragrance.

demonpuff

Pretty & androgynous, unobtrusive, fresh, clean. Wear this to a job interview. It's definitely a your-natural-scent-but-enhanced-by-fruity-soap vibes. I could definitely see this being someone's signature scent depending on your style (doesn't fit mine as I'm just too extra). It also lasts like crazy on my skin (12 hours later, no prep.)

smellssmelly

Does not smell juicy to me, smells like a pear soap, a bit musky like Not A Perfume, might be a more masc leaning scent. A bit disappointed, since I was expecting a sweet and juicy pear

Lykopa

Musky pear! This is my boyfriend’s signature scent and it smells wonderful on him! It’s also something I would wear. The fruitiness shines through and the musk makes this feel like a hug. I was this close to buying a full size for myself. The musk in here reminds me a bit of Not a Perfume, but it isn’t as sharp. Too bad the longevity is close to nothing on skin (on clothes it lasts a few hours).

bunniesonthemoon

this is a clean pear smell, it's sweet but not too sweet. great if you enjoy a subtle scent that's slightly powdery! this is the kind of perfume you smell on someone else and have to ask what it is. i really enjoy this scent but it doesn't seem to last very long on the skin, at least not mine. i think this is a safe blind buy fragrance, but definitely try a sample if you can

(EDIT: the longevity is much better than i originally believed! it has lingered on my skin for at least 10 hours, although it's a bit toned down now)

bajablast

i heard a "wow" from everyone i let sniff the bottle. i could go on and on about how good the scent is but it lasts a total of 10 minutes on the skin so it doesn't really matter. don't waste your money

sqcox

I don't know how JHG did it, but I don't smell any musk or ambroxan, just pear. Lonely juicy pear. Good but expected something else

ntabassum92

Pleasantly surprised, Pear Inc is making me appreciate pear as a note in perfume. It's fresh, green, deep and fleshy but not sweet or syrupy. The musk used is great, too - I am even getting a hint of something "spicy", don't know if it's pear skin or what. I think the Burberry Her EDT is in this same pear/musky style as well, which I am enjoying. I feel like the musk in here is different from the other Juliette Has a Gun perfumes, it's deeper/rounder and less thin and sharp. It lasts a good while, but the drydown is straight Light Blue, I don't smell the pear in the drydown anymore. I wouldn't get a full bottle for that reason but if you like Light Blue and want to try a pear twist, you might want this one.

cadentsun

A totally office-safe whispering pear, carried on a cloud of JHAG's signature anosmia-testing ambroxan. The charm isn't really there in either note for me; the pear's a little dry, the musk a little static. I might've defaulted to calling this shampoo-y if I hadn't smelled By/Rosie Jane's Leila Lou (whose pear soap-factor blows Pear Inc out of the water) in the same shopping trip. If JHAG historically works on you (it hasn't for me), maybe you'll feel differently.

rinz09

Clean, Pear Goodness, with the musky of all of the Juliette's. I would never get a full bottle but definitely travel size worthy. I can see it working for a lot of people in a lot of situations. A "t-shirt" perfume if I ever smelled one!!

youreyes

Unfortunately very much in the shampoo territory. Not anywhere near worth the price.

likesleet

soft pear. the pear takes more of a backseat to help create a cushion-y musk scent.

SailorV

Pear Inc oscillates between crisp pears, sweet pear-flavored candy, fresh soap bubbles and sparkling citrus soda. I can't decide which aspect I get the most. Like many JHAG it smells intentionally lab-made, but in this case it's fun and bubbly and not scratchy or sterile. For some reason I find the bottle color really fitting for the scent, even though I never associated pears or clean scents with those dark teal hues before.

It's been a while since I tried Not A Perfume, but to my nose this doesn't resemble the fuzzy woodsy aura of that one too much. Instead it reminds me of D&G Light Blue in a way. The pear note is obviously a big difference, but the sweet, zesty citrus top and clean cedar-ish woodsy base together are quite similar. If someone gave me an unlabeled sample of this and told me it was a new Light Blue flanker, I wouldn't have doubted it.

I don't always get along with JHAG, but this is a good one.
My only small problem is that it turns very sweet on me after a while, which doesn't happen on paper. I love sweetness in general, I just think this specific scent doesn't profit from it, this should be fresher. It's definitely a skin chemistry thing though. See for yourself if you like pear and don't mind some synthetic clean vibes.

elieju

This scent is just—I can't even explain how much I love it. As a fan of really natural, subtle scents, this is hands-down my favorite ! It's longevity isn't as good as I would have liked, but it makes sense considering it's much more of an intimate, warm, and skin like scent. Also as a fan of more sensual scents like Glossier You, it's great for people who can't stand super overwhelming and pungent scents that just make you want to sneeze all day. I also love how it's not a powdery musk like most other skin scents are, as the pear just perfectly adds that warmth and freshness.

anthonycball

Wow! This really does smell like pear!

Not a Bosc pear. Nor an Anjou or Concorde pear. But a Bartlett pear nurtured by the caressing winds of the Pacific Northwest; picked in early September at its prime.

Just kidding. I’m really not that pretentious. Yes, Pear Inc. does smell like a freshly cut pear, which smells great! Recommended if that’s your thing!

Rating: 7.5/10

AbeStreet

A pleasing soft pear fragrance but starts off as a skin scent and just doesn't perform. Sometimes I can still recommend weak fragrances that are inexpensive. However, this is far too weak for what it costs. It's a real shame because it is a decent scent.

budew

i ADORE this scent! i usually go for your warmer gourmand or woody scents, but when i smelled this i had to have it. it does so well during the day in warmer seasons. its clean, fresh, and sweet, but it doesn't come across as soapy. what i love most is how well the pear and musk smells go together. i have gotten so many compliments while wearing it!
i was honestly surprised by the longevity. from all the reviews i've heard i was expecting it to last no longer than maybe 5hr, but it lasts up to 9-10hr on me! it even holds up after continuous hand washing. as with any perfume i would recommend sampling it but if you know you love pear and musk, i think this could be a safe blind buy!

Iris128

I am not a huge fan of pear but i love musk and this scent is exactly what i need in this awful heat. It's fresh, clean, it does smell like pear shampoo but mostly it's skin with powdery pears. When it dries off, it reminds me a lot of Not a Perfume but in a slightly sweeter way. Overall, it is a good buy, considering it is very subtle, fresher than the coconut/sunscreen/salted vanilla kind of summer scents and won't make me nauseous during the heatwaves.

femaleprotagonist

So a while back there was this internet joke about how La Croix tastes like you’re drinking seltzer while there’s fruit in the other room, which took on several variations over the years. I’m not sure I’m explaining this well but that’s how this perfume feels to me: like someone’s taking a bite out of a fresh, juicy pear in another room while you spritz your scent on. To be clear, this is good to me. The pear note on top is nice and crisp and clean, more like a pear that’s just this side of underripe and is just firm enough when you bite into it (which is how I like them). It very quickly gives way to that ambroxan underneath, which always comes out a little sharp and peppery on my skin (like with this, Not a Perfume, and Glossier You). It’s essentially Not a Perfume (With Pear Flavor!), but I like that. A nice clean scent, good to put on fresh out the shower. 10/10 for a sample but probably wouldn’t purchase the full size because I already have You. And the fragrance by Glossier. Just kidding

Rehderja

I feel like it’s Superdose but with a pear overtone. It is very… “pear-y”. Lol.
