Scandal By Night by Jean Paul Gaultier is a Amber Floral fragrance for women. Scandal By Night was launched in 2018. The nose behind this fragrance is Daphné Bugey. Top notes are Honey, Bitter Orange and Citruses; middle notes are Cherry, Tuberose, Orange Blossom, Pear and Nard Himalayan (Jatamansi); base notes are Tonka Bean, Vanilla, Patchouli, Sandalwood, Amberwood and White Musk.

Scandal By Night comes out in August 2018. This edition will be the first flanker of the new perfume from designer Jean Paul Gaultier, the gourmand chypre scent based on the note of honey named Scandal from 2017. While Scandal was announced as a free-spirited fragrance, the new edition is described as ultimately unbridled and unchaining.

The campaign continues to tell the story of Madame La Ministre; a high-ranking official by day, and a bustling party woman visiting the Pigalle district in Paris when the night falls. Her fragrance is potent, sweet and opulent.

Top notes: citrus, honey
Heart: tuberose, nard
Base: patchouli, tonka, sandalwood

Scandal By Night is available as a 30, 50 and 80 ml Eau de Parfum.

PLUMPIE

I literally wanted a bottle of Scandal because the name and the typeface on the bottle reminded me of the 80s Queen music video of the same name. The original is sickly sweet on me but this version is another story. Doctor Pepper Nights is what I call this. Honey, cherries but with a medicinal cough syrup edge. Softens down to a lovely creamy bed of tuberose and lots of of neroli/orange blossom not unlike the base of vintage Armani Code. There is a smoky vanillaesque note which mixes with the headiness of the orange blossom which reminds me of the original Dior Addict. It is ideal for when I want to seem younger (nearly in my 40s and generally I only like vintage old school perfumes). There is a strange fizziness to this which reminds me of Gucci Rush which I love about it and something in this also reminds me of the also now discontinued Decadence. This is the sweetest scent I own and the only gourmand I have ever really enjoyed. It has to be cold and nightime for me to wear this otherwise it overwhelms me with the flirty sweetness. I love the bottle, it's like the torso-less legs from 90s ultima II 'Head over heels' fell into a vat of gold electeoplating. I love the blush pink faux suede baked beans/dogfood can which pays homage to the original Classique packaging.

sandraaalindgren

This was a blind-buy that I thought couldn’t fail cause I love sweet fragrances and especially honey and cherry but oh lord… The patchouli ruins everything. This could be a fabulous perfume but it smells like body odur om me. But I have to say that this is slightly better than the Scandal OG which I find horrible. Gonna sell this to someone who likes it.

GUADELUPA

Honey! I like it together with tonka bean and cherry. Also I can smell the bitter orange and other sweet notes. Dense and deep scent. It sounds amazing in the fresh air and breeze. Cherry was added to the honey here, and Scandal turned into the Absolute Scandal (joke!). But this sweetness is a pleasure for me! A real treasure for sweet lovers. Longevity and sillage are eternal, especially on clothes.
P.S.: I completely understand the lady who dived into this bottle. Honey is very thick and tasty, and she doesn't want to jump out, your legs remained on top of this beautiful honey-cherry vessel.

lorenateodora

Literally the best version of Scandal imo. Powerful scent of honey. Just so yummy!
I love it so much and it's so sad that it was discontinued. :(
I'll cherish every drop of it!

I used to wear it on 2018-2019 , it was too powerful and got people ask me what am wearing
I remember it stick to my clothes for days
also still have it now BUT impossible to handle the heaviness it get by years unbearable
but I like the packaging - still on my shelf

BikiniSoTeeny

Sticky orange blossom from all that honey, I think sexy and girly for fall/winter nights but only if I am in a mood to tolerate that sweet heaviness.

SaraSmellsGood

I finally got fed up with this and threw mine in the trash!! My God the scent has become super nauseating and nasty, I’ve had it since 2020.. so it’s been macerating for three years lol and it’s already heavy so you can only imagine!.. I remember when I first bought it, it used to smell really good, the 🍒 🍯 and white flowers just worked beautifully together, I also felt like it had a Smokey scent/ affect about it.. however after three years it turned really bad.. my heart hurts because I really don’t like to throw away my fragrances however this was just unbearable

malkotoponi

This has never happened to me before but I bought this parfume last year and I was so in love with it. I used half the bottle in the first 2-3 months, then I thought this parfume was just too heavy for me and I stopped. Six months later I tried to go back to it and I just hated it. Couldn’t stand the scent, it made me nauseous. It felt like falling out of love. I was so confused but I could not wear it any more so I sold it. I had the same experience with the OG scandal. I still have a santiment towards these two parfumes but I just can’t even smell them on other people.

CNote

Discontinued but I blind bought a bottle on a resell app in Europe. I usually love gourmand fragrances so I wanted to like this but it truly lacks the complexity I need to enjoy it fully. I imagine a person 19-24 that's graduated from Bath & Body Pearberry products who wants to dazzle their Tinder dates. I may use as a body spray then add in an essential oil to give it depth. I typically like Mugler, this is my 1st from Gaultier, I am willing to try another to find my "one".

[older review]
Wear this to seduce at concerts, bars, museums… very large or crowded spaces where it WILL stand out and leave a trail, or a promising 3rd date. I wouldn’t recommend for the office as it's heavily sweet. Very pear-forward to my nose. My nose starts is anosmic to the pear after 20mins. I have a hard time smelling anything else. This was a blind buy I scored, I'm not sure I regret it yet. So far, it’s a typical sweet perfume.

@nipon Where I am in Greece yes unfortunately.

Is this discontinued? Can anyone just tell me pls thx

AmandaBucik

I’ve had this for a while now. At first I liked it but not anymore.. i think the cherry note stinks like it would be rotten or something.

pinkgatitos

Gorgeous, so sad its been discontinued. Subtle cherry that makes it very sexy. It's sweet, alluring. I can smell it on my skin all day, and can still smell it on my clothes after.

Scandal By Night (SBN) is a versatile, pleasant fragrance that starts off a little sharp with the honey and citrus, but dries down quickly to a pretty, soft cherry/tuberose/orange blossom scent.

If I were to compare it to Tom Ford Lost Cherry, I would say that SBN is a better and more wearable fragrance. Lost Cherry smells very linear, and a bit cheap (especially considering the hefty price tag). But SBN has the lovely floral element that keeps it from smelling like cherry candy or cough drops. Oddly, SBN doesn't strike me as a nighttime fragrance. To be sure, you could wear it at night, but SBN's floral fruitiness also lends itself nicely to daytime wear.

Another reviewer said that SBN ends up drying down to something reminiscent of Dior Poison Girl - I have the EDP of Poison Girl, and I'd have to agree. They don't smell identical, but there is a similar enough vibe in the dry down where you may not want to buy both and have redundant fragrances (especially if you're curating a small collection). Otherwise, I think SBN earns enough distinction with the floral, cherry notes where you can own both (like I do) and feel like they serve different purposes.

In sum, I'd recommend SBN if you like Poison Girl since they're both sweet -- but if you think Poison Girl is too sweet, try SBN because it offers an elevated feminine scent without smelling juvenile. If you are choosing between SBN and Lost Cherry, I'd also recommend SBN since I don't think Lost Cherry is worth the price tag (though I do have a travel spray of it that I got on sale).

But if you're not into cherry scents OR if you already have tons of fruity, orange blossom scents in your collection, I don't think SBN is a must-have. But it's a nice, easy, everyday sort of fragrance.

Colin's Baby

I just got Scandal by Night today (ordered online) and it’s very similar to my other perfume La Vie Est Belle Intense. It’s just a little subtle. Definitely great for date nights and cooler weather. I’m not sure if this will last long on me like how La Vie Est Belle performs. I believe for this one, I need to spray more.

PrincessKitana

Thats a beautiful gourmand as others have mentioned. In the opening its basically Scandal OG plus cherry added. But then it settles down into such a beauty - on my skin it starts smelling likea pie! Also people have told me i smell like a pie :)
PS. I also own Police Shock Scent and the opening is really similar to Scandal by night, but what i dont get from Police scent is this pastry pie quality. Instead Police settles down with a smell reminding Lancome La vie est belle, which is for me disappointing.

Turg

I love the smooth and sweet opening, haven't smelled something so goregous in any other perfume. But after 0,5 -1h I get something that is a little off putting to me. I initially though it's amberwood, but i don't know anymore, maybe it's the honey that has dried down. It's kind of a salty and metallic note that doesn't really work for me. It's also what you get when you smell straight from the nozzle.

Suncica7

Insanely sexy in the cold nights. Anti depressive perfume. Joyful. But if it is any 25 C and above, it smells like someone's sweat or piss, I know, so strange.
Anyway I am starting to think that this houses are doing this on purpose- discont.and you go get it for twice a price from someone who actually works for them.
It is ridiculous this has been launched 5 years ago, and it is already out of market.
The OG is boring comparing to this.

dawngalloper

I love this perfume. There is a harshness on initial spray but it goes away quickly and its delicious sweet and sexy. The honey note is the most prominent for me. So sad it was discontinued. I managed to find a brand new 80ml bottle for $180 aud, so I will use it sparsely and I'll be sad when its gone.

The13thHour

This is my favorite Scandal perfume out of the series. I think some people are over exaggerating on some of these JPG perfumes.

Side Note: This has nothing to do with this perfume. I think it's very offensive that people are still using the term "Grandma" to describe a scent like they have with the other Scandal perfumes. It has been used for so long that the "Grandma" you are talking about now is likely passed on if you are in my age group. So now that we are in 2023 you are talking about your own mama now. Let's learn the proper terms. So is it a "older fragrance" or "vintage". Because the term "Grandma" is not only offensive but it can be confusing for a younger generation when their moms wore nothing like what my generation grandmothers wore. Ya'll seriously need to learn manners.

princesslopez4890

Just like everything it’s gone up in price. When I purchased it, it was not this expensive maybe because it’s been discontinued and I don’t know why. This fragrance is really nice I was hoping to make it a staple in my collection. It’s sweet and delicious but not in an annoying cloying way. I get the cherry and the honey in perfect harmony. This is smooth and very well blended. A little goes a long way. I also get the vanilla and sandalwood. I’m not even a huge fan of cherry scents but this is intoxicating. If you have the opportunity to find this fragrance and your into sweet cherry/ honey scents try it. I’m on the hunt for a fragrance with a similar scent profile, I may have to settle for something like elie Saabs girl of now which is what this immediately reminded me of!

emily erdbeer

All I get is Ribena. Was hoping for the OG with a little more spicy, nighttime vibe but all I get is Ribena or like a cherry jolly rancher. Original Scandal for me!

canabena

Sweet honey concoction, kind of reminds me of a lollipop.I really like this and I see it turning into a love I will update accordingly. Really sad this is discontinued but glad I could snag a bottle. It also has a little mystery to it too. Like others have said its more so a cold weather scent or night time when its cooler. The honey is the star of this perfume and im so here for it cant wait to get my hands on the OG to compare.

Bibi16

Great sexy winter night fragrance!! Buy it, if you don't like it, let it sit for few weeks, you will FALL IN LOVE like me !

Manjusaka

beautyjolic

One of the best date night fragrances for me! Sophisticated honey, definitely very sweet and perfume-ry.
P.S. if you're selling a bottle in Sweden (preferable) or Denmark, please message me, I am looking for this fragrance

I’ve been testing this out for 3 months and i get nose blind to it in 5 minutes and it makes me sneeze. Im sad i cant enjoy this tasty smell but i bet others can. Im also not a person that likes cherry scents but i love this perfume. I hope Gaultier will create something that is appropriate to wear in day time as for me all of his perfumes have an outstanding sillage and are very strong. His perfumes are a magnet for attention

Amber Plokchouli

@frangipanilove: I think you were commenting on the wrong fragrance. Scandal by night has been discontinued, and predates La Belle, let alone La Belle intense.. if you want to bash a fragrance, at least make sure you know which fragrance you’re bashing ;)

Saj_Shae

Wow that cherry-honey-vanilla combination is something serious. I wish I got this instead of the OG. This will put your lover under a spell with it's intoxicating sillage.

Edit: my first impression was based on a concentrated perfume oil from FragBar which is A LOT more cherry centric. I received a bottle of Scandal by Night and it smells very different from the oil. I think my bottle still needs to settle but I imagine these two will be great layered together. The batch code is from Oct 2021. I have to say, this is one of the best tuberose fragrances I've ever smelled. The tuberose is almost indecipherable because of how well blended the fragrance is. I was expecting a tuberose similar to CHGG or JPG's So Scandal, but this is in a league of its own. I wish I never waited so long to try this one.

CathyNoo

Creamy tuberose dessert with jucy deep dark red cherry on the top, drizzled with honey. This is a wonderful, sweet & sexi scent, I absolutely adore it. Such a shame is discontinued. The best flanker from the line!

Jade-Ange D

The cherry, pear and citruses mix is heavenly with the honey inside this fragrance. One of the best Scandal Flankers so sad it’s discontinued, me and my boyfriend were loving it so bad.
7,5/10 bring it back JP please :(

Andy224

Interesting flanker. Definitely appropriate for night occasions. The honey note is very intense and powerful and it lasts for many hours.

PrincessAlyssa25

This is a deep, dark kind of sweet. It is not a sweet shop kind of sweet scent if that makes sense. I had a terrible allergic reaction to something in this perfume & couldn’t stop sneezing for hours it was awful. I’m also not normally sensitive to perfumes and never had that happen before except with this one.

TheSweetestHeart

Somebody list the dupes since it’s been discontinued.

fantasticoo

I wear it without getting bored. I think I have an extra weakness for sweet perfumes.

Devved

why would Jean Paul Gaultier discontinue this? was best from the line, most interesting. Only perfume from Jean Paul Gaultier i liked. oh well....

Admw

This has been my signature scent for years, I love it! Unfortunately no longer available… Of course I already tried police shock in, but it still isn't… if anyone has good layering suggestions, I'd love to hear them!

MaraCorina

I like the cherry and honey combination, but the tuberose is a little bit too much for me. I like it more after a few hours after the tuberose isn't that strong anymore. But overall it's a very nice sweet fragrance if you are into this, and the performance is amazing.

habiba ahmed

i love the honey in this one ..it makes it sweet and yummy but sadly..i hate white floral notes from the bottom of my heart..so i couldn't wear this perfume ..if this perfume wouldn't include floral scent it would be absoultely my fav 🥺moreover, this perfume has zero uniqueiness as it's soooooo popular

Yasmeena0

Very beautiful perfume I really love how it smells, I find it better than the OG
Feminine, last at least 8H on my skin and good value for money 💜

ChocoLei

A blend of honeyed cherries and almonds with a tuberose backbone. Patchouli isn't that perceptible and vanilla is playing hide-and-seek. But this is Scandal's DNA, 100%.

It's really pleasing, really playful & sweet. I used to wonder why, but I get some similarities with Elie Saab's GON--- I think it must be the almondy scent coming from the cherry accord and tonka beans in SBN.

I'm not wowed by this but I go agree that it's a really pretty perfume. I find that there is still a little bit of something generic going on with this one.

Other than that, longevity is quite good. Surprisingly, projection isn't as good as the La Belle line on me.

sexonlegs

I have both the original scandal and this one. They are COMPLETELY DIFFERENT. This is not a generic scent like the original scandal.
This was the first time I fell in love at the first spritz. It is so sexy, I imagine a really hot woman in their 20's on a night out wearing this, but I can't resist wearing it whenever and wherever :)
If you don't mind being noticed then this is miles and miles better than the OG scandal.

mlrd217

I love Scandal OG but I LOVE Scandal by Night so much. This perfume is very beautiful and sultry. They're similar in notes but different in consistency. Scandal OG opens sparkly, it has more citrus and dry down is rich sweet honey and licorice. Scandal by Night opens sweeter, I can already smell the honey and less citrus in the opening. Dry down is deeper, darker, richer than the OG and veeryy smooth with adding some vanilla. You have to like very sweet perfume to enjoy this. Since I own and love the OG, I bought this blindly and I am very happy. I wear Scandal OG on summer and By Night on winter because it can be pretty heavy in the heat. I love this better than LVEB, Black Opium, Hypnotic Poison or Poison Girl. Scandal By Night is more complex and unique.

AmandaBucik

I blind bought this after i find out that it’s discontinued and watched a lot of reviews about this one. A few years ago i bought Scandal OG, it was my first perfume. A lot of people say that it is very similar to the original one, however I don’t agree.

I find the original one to be very sweet and sexy. However, it can be a little too flat for some people, it doesnt have that dept in it.

Today i got Scandal by Night and to me this smells nothing like the original one. It is very deep, it smells like a big juicy sweet cherry dipped in wild honey. It gets sweeter with time and it has an amazing depth to it. I don’t really sense citruses in it or other things, but my boyfriend said it smells a lot like an amazing vanilla on me. So i would say the main things that i smell are sour cherry, honey and vanilla. I think it’s amazing for any occasion if you love sweet fragrances, just dont over do it.

It is a very very strong perfume.

LiliiiS

Scandal is one of my top favorites so I was happy to receive Scandal by Night as gift but I wasn't sure I would love it because cherry is a tricky note for me. fortunately there's no need to fear cherry in Scandal by Night, cherry is done right here.
when first sprayed, Scandal and Scandal by Night have a lot in common but they're recognizable. the honey note is a bit tamed in SBN so the sweetness is less intense compared to OG Scandal. don't get me wrong, it's still very sweet and the honey is still dominant, just slightly softer when I compare it side by side with Scandal. the other difference is due to the strong cherry note in SBN. the cherry is easily detectable but it's not too strong to make this all about cherry. it also doesn't have a medicinal aka cough syrupish vibe. it's pretty and easy to like.
I love how honey, cherry and flowers(I don't pickup tuberose as a seperate note but I can detect orange flower) are blended together to create this sweet, sexy scent. patchouli doesn't bother me in Scandals and to be honest I don't detect much tonka here. drydown is mostly a vanilla-orange flower combo on me.
I love Scandal by Night but the OG Scandal is still my favorite among these two. both have very good longevity and leave a lovely trail as I walk(I checked the batchcode of my bottle of SBN and it's made in 2018 so I don't know if the new formulations are weeker or not).

Awater01

I tired a few in the scandal line before I semi blind bought this. I say semi because I had dinner with a lady that was wearing this and she smelled so nice I had to ask what she was wearing. So even though I didn't get to try it myself, I was reasonably certain I would like it. I'm so glad I did. Yes, it's sweet, but it stays just under my tolerance level. There is a nice dose of cumarin (tonka) in this which is why I love it. The cherry is nice too.

Laurus

This is so sweet and edible smelling. It is one of those scents which I fell in love with immediately but then very quickly it started making me sick. Now when I smell this or something similar sweet and vanillaish on others, I can not stand it. I think this type of scents have never been for me and never will be. I do not care how much men love this type of scents on women. To me this kind of sweet scents always smell a bit cheap and vulgr and I do not know why. If you like warm sweet scents like Poison Girl, Mon Guerlain, Good Girl... try this, you might like it.

Frangipanilove

Isn’t the time of these artificially sweet gourmands coming to an end now? I am generally quite fond of Gaultier fragrances but this is a pass - just too sweet and not original enough. Cherry honey on tuberose with a heavy dose of aspartame. Plus it smells virtually identical to La Belle Intense. C’mon you can do better Gaultier, a bit more ambition please.

Kizzyb93

So I do generally really like the scandal and the flankers the are all beast mode and mad sweet …. HOWEVER THEY ALL SMELL THE SAME so I don’t think it’s worth buying the flankers if you have the original imo

overtsaceie

Sweet and yummy, but boring. Need to pair with others

honeybunny1977

When I wear this I get loads of sweet honeyed cherry and pear notes. Its feminine and girly and has just the right sweetness which keeps it from being adolescent. The juice is dark in the bottle making it a nice addition on my vanity table. I only have one other cherry frag and it isnt as complex as this one with the pear/honey combo so this is great for my collection.

naiaa

The Scandal line has to be my ultimate favorite one to this day. The sweetness of the honey, fruity notes and tuberose/orange blossoms balance each other out so well! Both the sillage and longevity of this perfume are crazy, it will easily last you an entire day no matter the humidity. Reminds me how strong this line's performance used to be before it got reformulated. If you love gourmand, sweet fragnances, this will be a staple in your collection for sure.

However, I do not understand why Scandal By Night is loved and has lots of hype around it while the original Scandal EDP gets hated on. Notes-wise, they smell the exact same to me even though I regularly wear either the original perfume or SBN and should be able to notice differences easily. If you love SBN, but cannot find any seller, I would actually recommend getting the EDP. The only reason I could see why this perfume is more loved than the original would be the old formulation of the Scandal line. It has a stronger sillage and longevity while the new formulation is weaker compared. Regardless, JPG never misses! :)

Jummi Jade

Got a sample a couple of years back and I fell in love with this honey bomb. The opening is bitter orange and honey. And it dries down to just honey on my skin. With hints of vanilla and cherry. Love it!!!

Rana.Walid

Just tried this today for the first time, performance is way better than Scandal. Sweet honey scent that is very comforting, will not be suitable if you do not like sweet scents. 8.5/10 and can safely be blind bought if you are familiar with Scandal DNA

unrealgirl

so seducing and yummy, one of the few cherry fragrances that DONT smell like cough sirup (rare)
can be too much if u spray more than 3 times cuz of the honey note, i think that note is really heavy and cloying in this fragrance

Laoire

I purchased a 30ml bottle of this for myself for Xmas as I heard it was discontinued. I like the original Scandal which has a very prominent honey note that smells a bit like pee on me. When I first sprayed this from the bottle I thought instantly I had smelt this fragrance before. Within 5 minutes of letting it dry down I realised that this smells almost identical to La Rive Fleur de Femme, the only difference is that Scandal by Night has that honey note. I like it but there is a huge difference in price between the two. In my opinion if you have Fleur de Femme there is no need to buy Scandal by Night!

BougieGirlShops

This is my favourite Scandal. It has just the right balance of notes promised in other flankers, all blended into one gorgeous fragrance. This is one where I get detect all the notes I was hoping to catch - honey, cherry, citrus, and tuberose.

I enjoy cherry but I am not into the huge cherry forward trend lately, especially since it's a note that's so hard to capture and smell good. This offers just enough that you can detect that it's cherry without the risk of it smelling like candy or cough medicine. The honey is there but not so strong it is cloying, and the tuberose adds creaminess to the overall performance. The jasmine is still there, and its the typical JPG jasmine that I find can get a little too indolic, but in this version it's restrained which I like.

Really charming and seductive at the same time.

mamoudaki

It's probably what beyonce was wearing when recording PURE/HONEY this is so freaking good. Its like dripping honey on yourself. But don't be fooled, the scent deepens into something so sophisticated. It touches perfection. So scandal I think is where they found the formula of perfection. So surprised since I don't like the classic scandal perfume, life's weird anyways. Try this at your local perfume shop!♀️💅

AmBo

The idea of this sounds like I would love it, and upon the first 30 minutes, it's lovely. However, after that time, it starts to feel both suffocating AND elusive at the same time. I catch whiffs of it and feel like a drunk bee asleep in a white flower, but I also feel like I've gone anosmic to it. The same thing happens to me with JPG's La Belle, so maybe this house isn't for me and my body chemistry. I'm not sure it'll stay in my collection.

LaLaPop75

Ok yall, I'm on a cherry perfume kick. This one is classy, elegant. It screams I am a classy bitch but I have a playful side. So very well blended. The earthy basenotes in this keep the cherry from being immature or candy-ish. Interesting note, the jatamansi, or spikenard. This is a lovely earthy, grassy, sweet smell. Super in love with this discontinued fragrance, but I will bring hope to those of you who are mourning over the discontinuation. I have found the perfect dupe. Police Shock in Scent For Her. When I tell you dupe, I mean it. Police has a very, very slight more floral edge to it, but minimal. It has the same lasting power. Although the notes for Police don't list cherry, it's in there. It's even red tinged like Scandal by Night when sprayed on paper. Trust me. You will have no regrets at $30 a bottle. Super high quality juice...
Update: I have a better clone of this. It's called Chic N Glam Seduction. It's not super easy to find, but if you do and you love Scandal by Night, then buy it. The juice is even the exact same color..

I love the original Scandal but there's something in this flanker that doesn't agree with me - I think it's a mix of the cherry and tuberose that turns kind of cloying (and I usually love sweet fragrances!) I'm glad I got a tester.

Gyps

Gorgeous. I have the OG and love that so I tried this as a blind buy. A lot like the original only a bit stronger, and minus the beeswax (which I really like). Really lovely scent.

Kuty22

I've changed it to a 😍
This is a masterpiece
I need to add the original to my collection, the le perfume and the Paris flanker
I want them all

amanda0727

The tuberose/white floral is very prominent to my nose. I also don't get very much cherry, which was the main reason i purchased this. And the cherry smells very synthetic. Overall, kind of a strong generic sweet floral scent (smells kinda cheap if i'm being honest). I know i wont be reaching for this much, glad i only have the 30ml.

Ferra_Verto

Vanilla-forward honey bomb with hints of cherry glacé and a nutty nougat-like tonka as it dries down. Beautiful & majorly fun gourmand, this is so cheerily good.
Perfect in cold weather, lasts for all day and then some on skin & clothes. Incredible projection too, leaves a noticeable trail.
Absolutely worthwhile.

Kiwigoddess

Reading the reviews that this fragrance has been discontinued is absolutely cry worthy as I just discovered this perfume after getting a 3ml decant. Omg, love at first spray. It is so beautiful and quite the sexy little number. Why oh why did they discontinue a relatively new fragrance? Longevity, sillage and projection are all fantastic. It is sweet and exudes decadence. Because I don't conform to societal norms, I would wear this any time of year, and be sure that everyone in the room notices me LOL. Now to try and get my hands on a full bottle!

wondervalley666

It looks like fragrantica updated the notes here and I can’t say they seem right. I hate patchouli, I can smell even small amounts in fragrances, and it instantly turns into sour bad breathe on my skin. I cannot detect one drop of patchouli in this scent. I can absolutely detect it in the original scandal, which is why I’ve only used a small amount of the only bottle I’ve owned. I’ve owned and used at least 6 of bottles of By Night. It’s one of my top 5 favorites. It primarily has a cherry top note, and a sweet honey musky tuberose base. Orange and the other new additions to the listed notes here are either nonexistent or so fleeting and buried by the main notes that they aren’t distinguishable. Don’t be afraid of this scent if you hate patchouli. It has nothing to do with patchouli, and the JPG website doesn't list it as an ingredient. Also, I'm wondering where the discontinuation rumors came from? This and another Scandal flanker seem to be limited release and aren't widely available, but it's still on the official site and sold by a few different vendors in the US.

Nadia Musa

If you have to own one Scandal flanker this is the one you should get.SBN manages to be sweet without being cloying. The tuberose here is very refined. You get the honey opening for 15 minutes then it’s a tuberose, cherry, vanilla bomb for the rest of the composition.Sillage at arm’s length, lasts on skin for 5-6 hours..Honestly this isn’t what I was expecting from this perfume.Instant favourite for date nights!

balserra70

at first it smells like pear and honey strongly on my skin. Actually i like the little sourish pear and sweet honey&vanilla smell but de bottom notes are became too masculine on my skin. It's really spicy, and animalic leatherish smell kinda distrub me so i had an idea that mix black opium with this parfume. it was really good mix black opium's coffe and warm vanillla smell mixed with pear honey and spicey fregrances. it's my opinion, personally i wouldnt buy this again. i dont like it on MY SKIN, if you think its a good smell it is but not for me. Update i use this for two days and now im liking it..

RobynCrabtree

My first blind buy! I panic bought when I saw it has been discontinued, as I was looking for a super sexy scent for date nights. I love the packaging and name, but just like the scent. It's very smooth and seems high quality, but the tuberose note is not my favorite. I'm going to keep testing intermittently over time to see if it grows on me though, because I love this scent otherwise!

Lyric82

I love this so much I can’t even believe it. Why do brands discontinue greatness??? This is absolutely perfection for the honey and sweetness. I love it so much. The sillage is magical. I say get a bottle if you like honey as a note. Get a bottle before that ability is gone forever.

fingertips00

I'll never forgive them for discontinuing this🥲

rainme

On first spray it's very similar to the original but the drydown is different. I actually find this easier to wear than the OG, which can be quite thick, sweet and heavy. By Night has a lighter more powdery drydown (maybe due to no beeswax note), and I much prefer it.

GreenMaple

I got a tester of this, but I gotta say, I don't really like it. I think the honey-cherry combination is a bit much for me, which is sad, bc I really like cherry in general.

cynthiad623

Fall and Winter Scent.

sugarcoatedreams

At first spray I was put off by it’s strong opening but after sitting on the skin for awhile it became such a sweet and sexy scent. It’s also long lasting, it stayed on me for 8 hours!

Perfumesdontlastonme:(

I dashed out to get this perfume as soon as I heard it was discontinued and man am I disappointed. It smells really nice but it doesn’t last on me! Or at least I can’t smell it. I live in a very hot climate and I did almost 5 sprays of this but after 3 hours I could barely smell it. I’m so sad because I really like it but it’s not beast mode on me like it is on everyone else. 😞

COLOREDGIRLSHUFFLE

This is delectable. Sexy. It’s one of those scents where you can’t help but to keep sniffing yourself ever so often.

On the first spray l get the honey scent….but this isn’t store bought honey…it’s like honey retrieved from the wild where deeply hued fragrant flowers feed their nectar to spoiled honey bees who scoff at anything less than the best…it’s a dark honey scent that immediately opens to white florals. The tuberose really comes out to play, but the dark honey tames it just enough to avoid an overwhelming headache inducing white floral…I get the cherry scent here and there in the opening but it stays only as a supporting player…until the dry down when it becomes more prominent, and the amber, sandalwood, and musk live up to their scandalous moniker. This scent is sexy, one I could see? smell? on young and mature alike. Even men! Now I have to spray some on the hubby to see what happens…

Scandal by Night has longevity and a good sillage. The trail scent left behind is alluring and mysterious…This is definitely a keeper.

AlvaroMebarak

At this point it could smell like a common perfume... but every time I use it there is at least one person who asks me WHICH ONE DO YOU USE? .. its really a scandal .. but a sweet one with a hint of vanilla and wood spicy .. and this scandal can last several nights ... it really could be considered unisex if you have that personality .. fully recommended ✨❣️

StyleArchitect

Hot girl scent! Just gorgeous and seductive. When you have this on, you’ll smell delicious allll day. Honey, vanilla & cherry? Yes please!

Rosemary14

So, I went back and forth about wether or not I liked this fragrance. At first I really liked it even though everything in it is very loud. But then one night I didn’t feel so well with a migraine and upset stomach and it made me sick. Don’t ever do that (duh Rosemary) you won’t like anything. But, now I tried it again for a few days and it truly amazing. The cherry and honey blast out in the opening. The cherry fades somewhat but the honey stays throughout the fragrance. Those base notes are amazing. That vanilla, tonka, amber wood, and musk create an almost boozy, caramelized dessert fragrance. The honey and florals do make it a bit animalic but to me that makes it a bit unique. The tonka and nard, and different woods make this deep at the end which keep this fragrance from being too sweet and sickening, I don’t usually like honey in fragrance’s much but when combined with these deeper notes I really like it. This is an audaciously sweet, deep, syrupy, and sexy fragrance. But, I’m also the girl that will something crazy syrupy as long as it’s got something to oppose it. Or sometimes I’m fine with smelling like dessert.

karamelle

For me this is the best perfume ever. So sexy&seductive it must be illegal lol. I beg jean paul Gaultier to bring this beautiful masterpiece back. I’m desperately in need of something that smells similar, any recommendations?

Roos88dutch

It’s discontinued where I live .

Heidi2021

Sticky sweet honey, cherry fragrance, good for fall! Like not a love. Cool bottle!

EDIT
I like it more now when it has sat for a while. It has got a nicer blend of the notes, yummy and sexy. Great for fall and winter, and great longtivity!!

lovealwaysalisa

I was sooo disappointed with this one. The original Scandal was a big fat nope for me. I was hoping the cherry in By Night would save this fragrance but yet again...its a nope! Smells just as animalic and honey sweet "pissy" as the original. The cherry is lost on my skin. So sad. :(
I will be selling my bottle of Scandal and the travel spray of Scandal by Night...

AnlisaC

Wow, I sprayed this on me before bed and I still smell it this morning. I love Scandal by Night, it’s my favorite flanker from the Scandal series. Honeyed and sweet all the way through. It never changes on my skin. This takes on a woodsy honey on my skin. I don’t get one single floral on me. Cherry come more in the drydown. Longevity is awesome and sillage is the same. Highly Recommended 10/10

juliausa

This is a sweet intoxicating gourmand with a musky/woody aspect, intense pear in honey with soft but well pronounced cherry. This is delicious and in my TOP 5 list.
Fair warning: if You do not like sweet deep and sensual fragrances - this one is not for you. It is beautifully complex from first spray all the way through dry-down.
Such shame it is discontinued.

wondervalley666

This blind buy stumped me for awhile, it’s a sneaky scent that has 3 different perfumes in 1.

Upon first spray, i get a honey cherry sweet almost syrupy (but not quite) type fragrance that is light and not very memorable, but nice. Then as it dries down about 15+ min later, this fragrance starts to smell very similar to Olympea / Olympea Intense. I thought I was crazy smelling Olympea, but saw another review that mentioned the same thing. It really seems to have a salt note like Olympea, I swear. Then as it further dries down, the tuberose comes out, mixes with the salty honey, and ends up smelling very similar to Marfa by Memo Paris, only a more sweet and floral with fewer musky herbal notes. I’d say this is a great option for people who like Olympea and Marfa and are looking for something similar/an amazing combination of both, that is more wearable and more addictive-smelling. My bottle isn’t a super strong beast mode fragrance like the reports of silage and longevity seem to imply here, I’d say it’s a lighter fragrance with 3-5 hrs average performance. Spraying several sprays definitely didn’t fill my tiny bedroom, this is sitting close to my skin with a foot or two projection max. It performs well enough that I keep smelling myself, but not so strong that others can tell when I enter the room. I’d say it performs and lasts like most average perfumes nowadays, may need a couple resprays to get it to last 8+hrs/all day. Seems to last a bit longer on clothes, though, my shirts will still smell faintly of this the next day. I’ve been wearing this during hot summer days and it smells very nice, but I don’t have much humidity in my climate which I think makes a lot of perfumes cloying in the heat for certain people. I actually like this more than Marfa and Olympea. I'm not sure if the discontinuation rumors are true - it seems like every one of my fav frags have discontinuation rumors here on fragrantica, though they are all very available from countless credible suppliers as I noticed when I rushed to buy backups (probably unnecessarily). A quick web search led me to several top online frag retailers who I've purchased from in the past selling this scent. Plus all other Scandal flankers review boards seem to be filled with recommendations for By Night as the BEST/favorite Scandal flanker, which I'd 100% agree with, I'm not sure why they'd discontinue something so well loved. If you're having trouble finding it, try layering Olympea or Olympea Intense with Marfa, it’s probably the closest you can get! Though Scandal by Night performs better IMO than Olympea and is comparable in performance to Marfa.

I really didn't need to order a backup bottle, but the longer this sat on my skin, the more I fell in love with it. It smells expensive. SO ADDICTIVE. Sexy. Very good quality. I remember 15 yrs ago stealing a few sprays of JPG le male+flankers from guy friends of mine and thinking how the bottles are so funny, but the juice was the sexiest I ever smelled. I get that same feeling for this femme JPG fragrance, like I just cannot get enough. No synthetic/sharp cloying notes. I'd only warn against it if you dislike tuberose or olympeas salt note. Perhaps those who dislike honey may not like this, but the honey here is a salty soft ambery honey, it isn't as sharp and cloying as honey can be in a lot of other frags (for example, it does NOT remind me of the honey in Lady Million). IMO this was the best blind buy I ever found, and I'd recommend it for anyone, but I do know everyone has different tastes so I know this isn't for everyone. It seems sweet enough that younger people would love it, but it's mature enough that I don't feel like a teenage vanilla sugar bomb.

Update-every time I smell this fragrance, I love it more and more. It’s one of the most beautiful scents I own. I own a lot of fragrances, I thought this would sit on my shelf unused, and somehow it made it into my top 5 almost immediately. A true beauty. I wish it lasted longer, I typically get 3-5 hrs of true performance from it, it can last on clothing 8 hrs but goes faint after 5. Otherwise it’s absolute perfection. I feel bad for my other fragrances as they will not be getting the attention that this one does. I ended up ordering 3 backup bottles, which is how you know I'm in love with a frag!

SweetSillage98

This perfume is so seductive, if you want to have an alter ego in a perfume then you should have this in your collection. This perfume screams "good girl becoming adult". if you love to show off your body like those female pop artists then you must try this.

Bwiller

Just came here to say, I get no cherry from this. Soooo I checked the JPG website and the notes listed are :
TUBEROSE HONEY SANDALWOOD & TONKA BEAN

Still smells nice but I wanted that cherry. :(

christinebyh

Last week I decided to have a long perfume sniffing session at one of the department stores here in London. After hours and hours of trialing almost every single perfume available, I decided that this was the one. I tried the OG, the flankers, the la belles, and this was by far the best performing and the least generic out of all. There was something so deep, sensual, yet playful about this fragrance that drew me back to the JPG counter. I also want to note that scandal by night performed better than both angel edp and alien edp on paper.

I was SO excited to buy scandal by night right then and there, but the store assistant told me this perfume had been discontinued. She very kindly suggested that I try the original scandal and even gave me a sample vial of la belle, but these were both lacklustre compared to the dark and sensual scandal by night. On a side note, I don't understand the hype around la belle. It's a very common, cheap fruity floral to my nose.

I've hunted down this bottle online and am now a proud owner of a 50ml - I would've purchased the 80ml had it been available, but I'm glad I managed to get my hands on even the smaller bottle.

EDIT : get Police Shock in Scent if you can't find this. That one should be called Shockin' Dupe.

Nocciola23

This is so delicious. At first it struck me as a bit too fruity, but the honey really balances it all out. It's divine.
The bottle, on the other hand, is a bit of a miss. Rather than looking sexy, it looks like a woman is stuck upside down in a bin or a toilet, trying to get out. Awkward.

maimaibaby

My top 3. Better than Scandal OG for real !!

JesScent

Why am I unable to find a reputable source to purchase this perfume from in the US? Scandal by Night, JPG

likesleet

best of the scandal line. i like this more than so scandal since this lacks a strong white floral accord.

contrary to opinions i've seen, I do think this is pretty wearable. i didn't get a lot of projection and it wasn't sickening. Got a strong honey at first and the drydown was just vaguely sweet and pleasant. i do hesitate to wear this in public since is perceived to be too strong for everyday use by others even if it wasn't to me. this is a scent that you could get tired of easily and is too old for me. i think this is 25+

ultimately, i won't be buying a full bottle, but i'm very happy that I bought the sample.

also in the UK, scandal by night is available on the JPG website still, but I know this isn't a safe blind buy and I don't think that you can return if you have tried it. samples on ebay aren't expensive rn (2-3 pounds) though.

Rosemary14

Absolutely the best of the scandal line in my opinion. It’s extremely sweet so if you don’t like sweet perfume retreat from this. Don’t even look at it anymore. The cherry in this scent is pronounced but so is the honey, jasmine, and tuberose. In fact it’s loud and probably the sweetest fragrance in my collection and I have La Vie Est Belle and Girl of Now. I would say if you like GON you’ll probably like this. They smell very similar because almond often smells like cherry and vice versa. The scandal line also has a bit of an animalic edge due to the honey joining with the white florals. When both of those are this strong they can sometimes verge off into pissy bee’s hive quality. So,once in a while that occurs to my nose with this fragrance and other times it doesn’t. This also has a smoky, woody, tonka, sandalwood dry down. Some days this fragrance is gorgeous to me but sometimes this fragrance verges on cloying and too much.

Update: I’m confused about this fragrance. Yesterday I put it on and it was verging on offensive. It was tooth achingly sweet and cloying. It also became so animalic on my skin with that thick honey and musk that it all made me a little sick. It’s just too much of everything. Extremely sweet, extremely floral, extremely animalic in a skanky way. It’s hitting people over the head screaming at them. You know that girl that’s beyond belief pretty naturally? But she’s wearing too much makeup? Like WAY too much makeup and her lashes are literally 3 inches long and don’t look right? Like, Gurl you don’t need all that calm down you’re pretty. She doesn’t realize how beautiful she was to begin with. It’s out of balance. That’s this fragrance. But other times this fragrance is sweet and sexy cherry/honey/ floral. Idk guys it’s not a safe blind buy.

Youkay

SBN certainly reminds me of La vie est belle. It’s a super sweet gourmand and requires one to be in a certain mood to enjoy it. Can be a bit cloying if you overspray it though. It’s my best in the scandal line and I always get tons of compliments whenever I wear it. It’s a love for me.

Eval81

Grabbed this when i saw it is discontinued. Overall, it is a sweet gourmand with a musky/woody aspect, intense pear sweetness that actually reminds me another JPG, La belle le parfum. So if you own one of these two, i don't think you need to acquire both. Wish i had known this before i blind bought. But, i like it and will use it for winter and fall. For summer it can sure be cloying.

Kon-nos91

It's starts to get ANNOYING. Each time a perfume is good and quality is present, it is either reformulated (toned down if not changed completely) or discontinued. This thing HAS TO STOP and the only one can do this is us. WE ARE the clients and the buying power in perfumes industry.

I have reviewed before Scandal (and By night/Intense edition), it's really a scandalous perfume and it deserves some attention as it's unique. Very sweet (not exactly gourmandise) but unique in the era of sugar. I was so close to buy a bottle of the very first EDP edition when I saw that by Night or Intense (call it whatever you like) is going to be discontinued. I found an amazing deal so I ended up with a 50 ml bottle.

Let's differentiate bewteen them. I remembered that the original, because of it's chypre character, won me. It's more innovative. I like a bit more gardenia than tuberose. It might be a bit 'lighter' but the sillage can really full a room (if you wear it correctly and don't make it be 'too much') since it's loud without trying. I wore just two sprays at night and in the morning my mother was commenting that the kitchen still smells like honey. I am sorry for giving you such details for the OG to the page of By night but it's a way to help someone choose between them. Plus, it has a special part in my heart cause I was testing Scandal before a very important exam for my career.

So...and no 'So Scandal' EDP (another white floral bomb, no connection at all with the previous editions) By Night is a dupe of the original. Even in it's description it starts like: "You can still smell the honey but this time with a more addictive blend of tuberose/tonka bean/sandalwood..." If we want to be fair, By Night is a little bit more complex and ideal in both warmer & colder temperatures when the original can be slightly off during the heat (even if it's a chypre/gourmand). If not off, at least 'dirty' sexy. Some reviewers add the image of cherries dropped in honey, yes I agree but to me, it's just what it's name is. A night time edition of the original. It starts with the white florals giving a bubble gummy effect, immediately after the combo of bitter orange & honey appears and somewhere in the middle it mixes with a soft cherry undertone. Patchouli is toned down but the tonka bean-sandalwood-musky base is what it gives the darker-sexy-rich girl vibes. It's a YES from me. As classy as dirty at the same time.

Now, how I would like to close is exactly how I began. Let us stop this game with the discontinuations or reformulations. We're a perfume community, let's gather and send all together a message to our favorite house to bring back or at least try to keep in the market our favorite perfume. It's way better than opening topics asking 'which perfume to wear from my wardrobe'. I may not be a huge fan of Jean Paul Gaultier but Classique EDT woke some memories of my childhood (when I asked the opinion of my mother she said: "Oh, this was the favorite perfume of Martha." and yeah, this was also the characteristic smell of their house each time I was there and now it makes sense) I had to buy La Belle (such a beauty!) in a way the original Scandal wasn't that 'wanted' anymore and now...we're in 2022, being left with a reformulation of the original (a lot of people complained they can't smell the honey) THE BOX HAS CHANGED-BE CAREFUL! This is a way to recognize and buy the older formula, an EDT that makes no sense and an EDP named So Scandal that is just a white floral mess. I am not commenting on Golder edition that isn' available in Europe or US. Take my words seriously, think about it and don't lose your money trying to stock up since after five years you will end up with an awfully smelling perfume that you never used. This doesn't stand for older formulas only. Example: I have a bottle of my favorite Miss Dior EDP edition (2014) that still smells 80% perfectly when the reformulation of 2018 is now starting to get off, weak & strangely bad but who cares? The 2021 edition came to save the situation (trying not to laugh). Anyway, sorry for my long review, sharing of my stories, thoughts and examples but let's set a goal from now on to make our wishes come true and learn to DEMAND whatever we deserve.

Catmo

I had to grab this after I saw it’s being discontinued. I haven’t tried the original Scandal yet so can’t compare to that. To me this smells just like a cherry lollipop. Identical. Sweet candy cherry smell. Very nice. Not sure it’s a love but glad to have.

Edit: after trying again I’m picking up something slightly salty and ambery- it’s reminding me of Olympea intense but with cherry. I’m obsessed now.

moonadu

I do love this perfume!
Wanted to leave a comment as everyone keeps on saying its discontinued. At least in UK its definetly available in retail shops like Perfume Direct.

MonicaCloud

I was never a fan of gourmands, but Scandal by Night is why I converted. It's very playful and warm, which brings me so much joy. The bitter orange, cherry, and honey notes make it so distinctive. I also get a hint of warm spice. Can't keep my nose off my wrists when it dries down. Absolutely gorgeous.

Faverinsky

If you want to get noticed, THIS is the perfume you wear! As soon as I found out that it was discontinued, I went and bought 3 bottles. No other fragrance ever gets me as many compliments from men as this one does (if you want to attract women Chanel Mademoiselle Intense is the one!).

Woodamber

Well, this was a dumb blind buy for me. Don't get me wrong, it has great performance and I do enjoy it on others than on myself. Before I bought it I kept thinking to myself that the notes of tuberose and cherry would be very prominent. I was especially hoping for that tuberose. And it is there but quite well blended. I also kept thinking to myself that the notes of honey was going to be subtle and quite synthetic. Oh I was wrong. The note of honey is the CEO of this scent and it smells like the real deal.
So why was this a dumb blind buy in my case? Well, I don't like honey. So I pretty much fooled myself here. I don't like it in beverages or food. I also have a hard time to handle the smell of its stickly sweet qualities. So I blind bought a scent which I later on realized I could not stand smelling on myself haha Lesson is learned. I gave this one to my friend and it seems to be more cherry prominent on her. I do understand the positive reviews because it is a great perfume. I just can't get passed the notes of honey. If you do like honey, go for it! If you don't like it but enjoy heavy notes of tuberose, try "So Scandal" instead.

Catnipple

I've been on a hunt to get Scandal By Night and it's been so hard to find since it's been discontinued and i got the original first because it was available and really wanted to try it desperately and thought by night would be more for me since i LOVE cherry fragrances but i finally got it and tried it out but turns out i like the original way more which is shocking, since everyone is raving about by night more but to me by night is more powdery and i don't really like powdery scents, so i like the original way more it's definitely sexier to me.

fingertips00

This will always be in my top 3. It's so much better than the original which I can't stand... absolutely heartbroken it's been discontinued :(

Juliennne

One of the best favourite gourmand fragrances, I’m glad I still have a 30ml left out of 50ml bottle. I love it 🥰

suchascentfreak

Perfectly syrupy and robust frangrance, as though as cherries melted into honey in a feverish combination! To me it feels quite linear at first, a mere cherry-honey fusion, although as time goes by the scent blossoms into something almost smokey as the honey - once so strong, at first - subdues into the background for the tonka beans and vanilla to shine, obviously still heavily accompanied by the cherries. It's not merely "cherries", still very very ripe indeed, to the limit of almost being spoilt, even. Needless to say - on my skin the tuberose stood second to the cherry as it took a leading role on the performance throughout all day.

Positively cloying and inebriating, glues to the skin like magic and in spite of it all I do not imagine this to be a pleasant scent for the summer, humid neither the spring time. It's a heavy concoction, to say the least.

A very intoxicating perfume indeed, bewitching. In my opinion, certainly not an office fragrance as it might induce headaches in some (such as my mother, who hated this sweet bomb). Suitable for all ages, however almost vulgar due to it's scandalous nature indeed.

Now, sadly, all that's left to do is reminisce and - hopefully - collect, as soon as possible. Here in Brazil some stores still carry this scent so I'm severely inclined to stock up, seeing as in some countries it is no longer available. A scandal indeed to abandon such fragrance.

RIP our beloved cherry bomb 🎀

This smells beautiful on a card so when I saw a half used bottle for a good deal I purchased it. I love scandal a paris a lot and this does remind me of that a little bit but with the syrupy notes turned all the way up. It is very heavy and sweet and very dramatic. I think this would only be suitable for a night out in very cold weather.

I haven’t had a chance to wear it properly until I went out for dinner one night, only did 2 sprays since I knew it was a beast. Unfortunately it made me kind of nauseous and I wished I’d worn a different perfume. If anyone in the uk want to try out this perfume I have a 30ml bottle with about 16mls left. It’s just too much for me.

buthbuthbubble

Such a beautiful fragrance! I got this as a blind buy because someone said its similar to elie saab girl of now and La Vie Est Belle L'Eau de Parfum Intense .. and I can see where the similarity is. The initial spray is intimidating, starts off strong, but the dry down is so beautiful and I got lots of compliments on it. It is sweet but also has a lot of depth with the Musk and Sandalwood. Heavily recommend!

jjluvsm9

To me, this fragrance is a bunch of extremes. Extremely sweet. Extremely cloying. Extremely syrupy. Extremely long lasting. Extremely feminine. I think you'll either love it or hate it, not a safe blind buy at all. It smells very similar to the original Scandal, but with a cherry note added. So, to me, this just smells like honey and cherry. I don't pick up the other notes, which is disappointing. I do enjoy this fragrance layered with other fragrances I want to 'sweeten', but I don't like it alone because it is by far the sweetest thing I've owned/ever smelled - today I layered it with Oud 24 Hours and got a few compliments. I have worn it alone rarely, typically for date night occasions. That said, it's a seductive mature kind of sweet, not a juvenile sugary sweet. This is a beautiful fragrance that has its place, but not in any everyday collection for me. Takes a very confident lady to wear it! Try it before you commit to a whole bottle.

My rating: 8/10
Bf rating: 8/10

fanntonyoscar

Scandal By Night is not for me, sadly. It’s way too floral on my skin. It’s a tuberose bomb with honey on top. I’ll try it again later, but as of now it’s a no.

AleshaA

One of the best jpg love it for winter some fabulous notes good combo I can smell the top middle and base notes surprising as most of jpg smells synthetic and overly dramatic this one though is good ;)

ag333

I blind bought an 80ml bottle for a good deal and was SO excited to get it. Sprayed it on paper and the opening had me hooked! it was orange, cherry and floral. Sprayed it on my skin and it turned very animalic. I know a girl on YT said it smells "sexy and emphasis on sex"... that's exactly how it smelled on me drying down. sweaty, musky, after smell of drunk sex? I know it sounds vulgar but that's how it smelled! one of the notes in here made me so nauseous I had to wash it off. I'm nervous to try it out again but I will update when I do since I bought a whole bottle of it. I was expecting a warm honey, cherry and vanilla night out scent but this is a whole lot more than that. It does smell skanky in a way which I was expecting and that aspect makes it unique. I wish I knew what note made me nauseated if it was the tuberose or the nard listed?

Ella_22

So delicious! This smells like a dark red cherry dripping with tuberose honey. I cannot wait to wear this on a night out!

L'amour Rouge

I do love this one lots!
It is quite strong upon first application, as it dries down it becomes this extremely sweet syrupy sexy smell.
Not for summer days, maybe nights.
On me it doesnt last long, unfortunately. I am so in love with the entire scandal line, but its a shame they do not last long on me.
I recommend this one for anyone who's into sexy gorumand scents.
Definitely gets the male hormones skyrocketting, I have received so many compliments while wearing ANY of the scandals!

AleshaA

Nice comes across as a little too out there and maybe a little synthetic as well, like the cherry and honey. my partner loves this one he doesn’t normally like Women’s perfumes much, smiles big when I have this one on and will ask what perfume I’m wearing lol

Eclectorina

Tested it. The JPG DNA is pretty strong in there, and it's not my fav house. Not a love unfortunately. It reminds me of Karma stick by Lush. I'll pass, was hoping it would be more juicy, to me it's more flowery than honey and it's screechy on my clothes. Just my opinion, the cherry becomes cloying with my chemistry. I might be able to work with it though. But I'd rather not.

Scent 6.5/10
Projection from 5
Longevity skin 6 hours, clothes 12 hours plus

If you like JPG and red berries, and don't mind a flowery honey and a dose of 80's nostalgia then you might love this!

This is what Madonna would wear in her twenties?

laceylovesperfume

I prefer this over the original Scandal. It’s far more sophisticated and just as sweet yet more wearable due to being less “screechy” than the OG. The honey in this is just a bit too much for me so I sold this, but I can see why people love this one.

Kuty22

Another blind buy 🙈 for me
Okay I own 3 JPGs so I took my chances, all of the YT videos raving about this one
I like it 🤡

But it is not exactly a 😍 (that's so far reserved for So Scandal and La Belle).
Quite oily, so you already know is gonna last forever and a day.
I like this one a lot, and I'm sure it will grow on me.

I'm on a blind buy 'adventure' my recent score was definitely women's secret - Intimate Daydream -

Crystalita76

Creamy Tuberose and honey madness topped with a sweet cherry.
Extremely gourmand and almost edible.
Very similar to the Original but Scandal by Night has a bit more character with that cherry note.
Projection and longevity are everlasting.
This could definitely be cloying if you spray too much.
There is a bit of juiciness going on with the pear and citrus notes. But not the star players in this fragrance.
This one would be great to wear on a night out.
Everyone would be surrounded by your scent cloud 1000000%
The bottle certainly represents the fragrance and it’s gorgeous.
Like they say… the darker the berry the sweeter the juice 🍒 and the juice in this one is definitely on the dark side.
Must love honey and Tuberose.

CreamSunshine

I liked this scent on a paper tester. But unfortunately it doesn’t work with my skin chemistry: when I wore it on my arm, the musk and mature white florals took over the scent entirely. Sorry for the negative review, I’m sure it must smell better on others, since I liked it on the paper tester.

bittermoon

Okay, so, name-wise it's not very scandalous/sexy in an outrageous way. Nothing about it indicates it's a "night" perfume either. However, it is indeed a sensual and intimate perfume, almost secretive in nature and delectable enough to make you curious, albeit not that intriguing. Scandal by night, alongside other designer perfumes of its league and "genre", is easily just like your average LA girl influencer. She's pretty, charming, but plastic, basic and unoriginal, although you are guaranteed to have a memorable night with her full of drugs and canoodling (that is, if you're a virgin to LA). The only difference between SbN and other designer frags is it is more well blended. Don't get me wrong, I actually love this fragrance. I wear it during cold mornings and nights, right after shower.
In the chilly air, this cold beauty blooms extremely well, it opens with fresh orange blossom and red berry-ish. The initial notes die in 5 minutes, giving way to a dominating honey. In about 10 mins, tuberose wafts in: milky, creamy, velvety in feel just like a delicate petal, balanced by woody notes that if you were lucky enough, would smell once in a blue moon. A few degrees higher you would only smell honey and vanilla, very sweet, very cozy at that. It dries down to a powdery vanilla. Within 30 more minutes, it disappears unless you sneak a sniff directly on your clothes/skin. A shame, but not a surprise.
By chance on one evening, after shower I decided to spritz VS amber romance and SbN combined on me. Lo and behold, it was quite breathtaking. The slight woodiness and soapiness of amber romance made SbN unisex, almost male leaning, sexier and deeper. It is date night worthy and actually... a tad scandalous.. albeit lasting for only 10 minutes, then it became a headache. Oh well. I will for sure try it with an actual better quality perfume

AnlisaC

hey @ag333 I got mine recently at Fragrancenet.com (not sponsored). Great fragrance love it!

Chycholina

Such a sexy perfume, from the moment I took a first whiff. If you want to seduce your man, this is the one. Very night out, special date perfume.
For me, it shares a bit of the DNA as Olympia by Paco Rabanne, minus the salt, they can totally be mixed together.

Coco_fab

Scandal by night is a really sweet fragrance. It’s sweet but not girly sweet, it’s woman sophisticated sweet.

Imagine a glass of sweet , goey, amber color honey, with creamy, sweet buttery tuberoses dipped in the honey. After the honey marinated the honey is drizzled over tonka beans. The honey and tuberose are the dominant notes in this fragrance. The other notes fade away quickly and in the dry down I get a straight honey tuberose.

Beautiful fragrance , more night time and date night , I can’t really imagine to pull this off during the day. This is my clubbing fragrance or going to the bar.

ErinlyT

Has anyone gotten their nose on Scandal by Night Intense? There doesn’t seem to be. Fragrantica listing for it, just wondering how different the Intense version might be from the original.

lechickpea

Drop dead GORGEOUS. There have only been two fragrances in my life that were an overwhelming, full-body love at first sniff experience. The first was Tom Ford Noir Pour Femme, the other is Scandal by Night. The way tuberose and honey combine here is everything - creamy, deep, intoxicating. And those ripe dark cherries.. wow. This is coming from someone who is so-so on the original Scandal, with it's high-pitched honey sweetness coming at you 100 miles an hour. Scandal by Night is still a statement, but actually easier to wear, combining honey with all these other facets to make it a full, rounded scent.

This beauty has definitely earned it's spot on my favourite fragrance shelf!!

ArrrDee

Sexy, syrupy cherry and honey. This girl is THICK and lasts all day. One of my favorites. <3

hola gigi

At first sniff, this reminds me of cherry cough syrup. It turns to an orange citrus scent before finally developing into a honey & white floral.. a bit too much tuberose for my liking. It smells like Dior Poison Girl but instead of a girl, she is now a middle aged woman.

novaklara98

I love honey in fragrances, and I don't mind sweet and gourmand bombs, but this is just plain boring, and very generic. Can definitely see it as a club fragrance, will make you blend in just fine. :)

Sillya

Three years ago I had asked for scandal as my birthday gift from my mother, however the sales assistant mistakenly gave her the, newly realesed then, Scandal by Night. The packaging is identical, so I didn't catch the mistake until I had already opened it. At first I was bummed, because the SbN was too white-floraly for me at that time and I already knew and loved the original (I had tried a tester). So I bought the original myself.

Scandal is a lot more unique in my opinion, but that makes it a lot less mass-appealing. As everyone has stated, it really is a honey-bomb, honey is all you can smell. It almost has a sexual quality to it. Sometimes, it tends to be smell a little dusty though. The longevity and sillage is amazing. Truly a beast-mode fragrance. It reminds me of my days clubbing before the whole pandemic.

In the last year though, I have began to reach for my SbN much more than the original. I don't know if my taste changed or if the juice matured. The by night version is a lot more well rounded in my opinion and it lacks the dusty quality. The addition of cherry and the more prominent white florals make it much more wearable and elegant (as elegant as a scandal flanker can be). I consider it to be much more versatile than the original and a lot more date night appropriate. The longevity and sillage is just as good, if not better on SbN.

All in all, I'm glad I have both and will gladly continue wearing them. However, to me the SbN is a much safer choice.

Scandal1

I fell in love from the first sniff..sexy cherry honey scent that is super long lasting and the projection is a monster..its not a classy one for sure but very playful and sexy..for a night out this would stand among the crowd for sure..it might be too much for some people and be aware not to spritz this without care..like 2 spritz is more than enough..well done JPG just plz dnt discontinue this beauty plz..

Well..it actually reminds me alot of dior hypnotic poison when it lingers in the cold weather! The whiffs I get are similar to it but a tad bit sweeter which is great coz i loveee hypnotic poison but it's too much for me ..something in the notes just doesnt work for me.

Zipporah mama

So I decided to get myself Scandal By Night as an early birthday present to myself. It is worth every hype! It is so yummy I can’t get enough. I love the packaging. The juice is also very beautiful. Due to rumors that this has been discontinued, I got myself an 80ml and I don’t regret it. I’ve been wearing it for 3 hours now and it still smells like I just wore it. I’ve not been able to test out the silage but I’m sure it’s really good. This is a powerhouse fragrance and it will be a perfect gift a lady you like. It is a sexy, confident fragrance. It’s a Sweet fragrance so if you’re not one for gourmand fragrances then this is not for you.
I can’t wait to wear this on a night out with my girls or my man!

DanielJD

@josefinwal Fragrance Houses seem to always deny rumours of discontinuation, the same thing has happened with Lady Million Prive and 1 Million Prive, people called and emailed Paco Rabanne and they denied it, it has now been confirmed that both Lady Million Prive and 1 Million Prive has been discontinued.

Chitra2021

I simply love the coconutish dry down of this perfume, it's just amazing, sillage is modest , if you want the world to know that you are present in the room then this is not for you. Love love love

sundayinheaven

When I smell this it paints a beautiful picture of cherries dipped in honey in my mind. It's warm & sweet. Too sweet. Bordering on headache inducing. Maybe not for everyone, but it is undeniably beautiful.

Poison Bottle

Scandal By Night is just incredible. It does have a cherry coke nostalgic vibe to it upon first spray. It becomes more warm and rounded as it dries down. If I had to pick a season that it fits into best, it would be Winter - rich, warm, intoxicating and a bit seductive. Not sure about the sillage, but it stays on the skin forever. I just ordered another bottle of this as a back up as I see that I am hoarding the one that I've got but can't resist spraying it even in our warm Florida climate. I can't wait for the weather to cool where this will showcase itself even better. This is getting harder to find. Be careful with e-bay as some of those bottles are obvious fakes. Worth the $ to ensure you get an authentic bottle.

miss_aly

Blind bought this based on so many good reviews. I received it in the mail finally and let me just say… this is SO INTOXICATING! I absolutely love this… you really get a well blended gourmand that is actually unique. A lot of sweet fragrances smell the same nowa days but not this one. The honey with the fruit, tonka, musk, and patchouli is just so yummy! And it’s not just some basic vanilla fragrance. Just do yourself a favor and try this one out if you like gourmands or are looking for a sexy fragrance!

DanielJD

STOCK UP NOW! It has not been confirmed but I believe Jean Paul Gaultier has discontinued this masterpiece. Why!? I absolutely adored Gaultier 2 and I don’t know why but Scandal By Night reminds me of G2. The latter was discontinued years ago and it sold well. My advice? Grab it if you can still find it.

blackcoffees

A part of a previous review I had written during the summer:
starts off with honey, cherry and a white floral freshness. at the beginning this gives off a deep, mysterious and charming character to this scent, after a bit that note completely dissapears, the cherry becomes medicinal and vanilla pachouli and sandalwood start becoming apparent, and that makes it all too much. The honey and the cherry are present for the entire duration of the scent, and they calm down after 6 hours. When it softens up, the vanilla, patchouli, honey and cherry mix that annoys me so much becomes soft and pleasant. The beginning and end of this perfume are fulfilling my expectations but the middle... oh god the middle is so tiring..
I can see it being potentially good for the winter but right now, even in the coldest days of the summer it is unbearable.

I tried it again as the weather suddenly got cooler and ohhhh it is so nice! It smells like honey, coconut, some white floral and a hint of light sweet cherry fruityness. My mom said it reminds her of a tanning body oil they used to have on the market and that it brought her right back to her teenage years in the best way. I like it, it doesn’t feel cloying and it has a versatility to it. I would wear it both day and night, making sure not to overspray at daytime. It has a slightly dirty feel to it which I think is what made it so cloying in the summer, but now this develops so nicely! I still wouldn’t personally consider it special BUT I like wearing it, and I will definitely finish my bottle. I’m happy that I gave it a chance. Lasts very long and fades with the honey being the last thing that remains.

abnoxae

It smells like cherries dipped in honey, though I mostly feel the cherries.
It is a very strong perfume, can be overpowering if worn in office for example. Definitely more of a winter/night vibe, but spraying less can make it more friendly.

ArtByLeia

I blindbought the 90ml bottle of this and I love it so much, I don't even wanna spray it most of the time as to not waste it. Very mature, very sexy, very sweet - I definitely get the honey note over all else. To me, this is the perfect date-night perfume.

Sunshineandsmiles

This is my signature perfume. I've gone through bottles of this and the original scandal. Im a heavy sprayer.
Timed it today. It only lasted 3 hours on me.
I'd sprayed Sarah Jessica Parker lovely (a cheapy) on me hours before and that outlasted it. Sadly it seems my body chemistry prefers Woods for lasting.
I may have to give in to nature and explore the woodier fragrances.

celestial_scents

I was so excited to try this one but unfortunately I don’t think I’m a fan. It’s thick/dense & it seems to last long. I haven’t really given it a full wear test but I will and I’ll update this review.

I think it’s the cherry note that I don’t like; which is slightly reminiscent of cherry cough drops (SLIGHTLY). It’s also hard to think of an occasion to wear this to. I guess going out for drinks would be the best bet.

I don’t think I would wear it on a date because I wouldn’t say it’s inviting and pretty. It’s literally scandalous as the name suggests (lol). It’s about a 5/10 for me. Too bad I’m stuck with a large bottle.

The scent just isn’t for me.

Blind buy fail 👎

adelaidesandrina

i’ve bought some JPG perfumes in the past (scandal a paris & classique) and sadly none of them wow me that much. until finally i came across this beauty right here. it was so hard to find her, and luckily i got the last bottle in my local department store!!!

this juice is so potent. it’s incredibly thick and juicy. i’m surprised that nobody thinks that this smells like LVEB. because on my skin it really does. it’s like the darker version of LVEB. and on paper.. it’s identical to pure xs, black opium and upon realization.. poison girl too. luckily this is not the case when sprayed on my skin

it’s SO sweet and imo it’s a strong gourmand perfume. it’s like smelling a buttered honey loaf cake or a warm chocolate chip cookie.
the patchouli is again.. very strong. the strongest patchouli i have ever came across in sugar bombs like these, and trust me i’ve smelled tons because i love sweetchoulis ;) the tonka bean note is also loud! towards the dry down, i could finally smell the cherry. to me it smells like maraschino cherries or cherry liqueur (like tom ford’s lost cherry)

anyways, i really love this. not sure about the sillage and longevity yet because i only sprayed it on my arm and it’s going strong for sure. i’ll use this tomorrow, and i hope it wont dissapoint!

edit: ok no no no no.. why the hell does the drydown smell so similar to tom ford orchid soleil?

Faverinsky

This is just an FYI for all of us Scandal by Night lovers; they've discontinued this heavenly scent! So you better stock up while some online retailers still carry it!

Mary.am1

I can describe This perfume in a few words..
Seductive/sweet/filled with vanilla and honey🍯
And simply Just like a sweet pancake with honey syrup in a wintery morning lol
I love it!! Also my husband loves it on me so ladies I think you should try it!!

Sunshineandsmiles

The original scandal was my signature perfume. Went through endless bottles of it.

Decided to give the by night version try.
On me, it smells the same except its creamier and with a sweet vanilla note. I smell not much else different.

I found the original scandal to be an extraverted go getter, whereas this I find to be more inwards and balanced out.
The original radiated outwards and upwards, this one goes inwards and downwards.
I'd say the og had a zest for life and liked to seduce eberyone, the by night is more a grounded passive sweet woman.

I received lots of compliments from the og, with the by night version it hasn't seemed to turn heads yet.
Although when asked for people's opinions, they loved it even more than the og.
I think the og is just louder and hence grabs more attention.

If you're an attention seeker I'd say go with the og.

Once I'm done with the bottle I'll decide whether I'll revert back to the og or stick with the by night as far as signature perfume.

cocodust

Well there is a lot going on here, this is interesting. I got a second hand bottle and could smell it on/around the lid before I even sprayed. I got strong honey and also a boozy sticky rum and coke or Dr Pepper and coke sort of smell as well as vanilla.
On spraying I got cherry, hint of something white floral, chocolate (thinking that’s the patchouli), a bees wax note (waxy not totally pleasant) and vanilla dry down.
For me this is very sweet and very night. I’m not sure if I like it though, I can’t make up my mind . I may well sell on....
Update: a few sniffs later and I am selling this on, just not loving it, quite a disappointment from the house of JPG who were also home of the wonderful Classique

Farytalewoods

You must love honey and have a very strong tolerance to intoxicating perfume. This guy is not playing. I can’t say I love it but I can’t say I hate it neither. It’s definitely for really cold weather and one spray or two are enough for the whole day, monster silage projection everything. But it’s not a favorite of mine.

Aaaareee

Bought a decant and overall it's too strong for me, the honey ruins it for me. Not the one for me.

Morex1983

I absolutely love this perfume, smells really sexy and quite sweet but not cloying at all. I could smell the honey mixed with the cherry. Very well blended would definitely recommend. The longevity and sillage is amazing also projection is 100%. It’s also a crowd pleasing fragrance I got a lot of compliments on it.

amelia.g

This is the worst experience I've had with perfume in recent memory. Having never tried the original, I got a sample of this flanker with a purchase and... Whew! Where to begin? The opening reminded me strongly of Poison Girl (a perfume I don't love, but don't really mind smelling otherwise), with its bubblegum cherry accord. Not my favourite start, but hardly what I'd call off putting.

Until the honey sinks in. Sweet Jesus. All I could smell, for the next 10 hours (because of course longevity is excellent with this one), was this strange, raw, persistent honey note. Very realistic, but also very one dimensional, to a point where my skin simply smelled like I had rubbed cough syrup all over it. This wretched phase took forever to fade, after which the scent evolved to a much softer (and also quite generic) vanillic drydown.

I tried it for two days, both during the day and at night, and got the same impressions on both.

Even though longevity is impressive, sillage and projection are very low. Having read reviews that commented on how potent it was, I thought maybe it was just my nose, but my husband also had to get really close to me to be able to smell it.

Try before you buy, because I think this one relies a lot on good skin chemistry.

Zae

Its a honey and cherry bomb
Very Bold, sweet and sensual.
The longevity wow ...amazing ..... get this and u will get lots of compliments

TinaIdra

I need to write a new review on this because I was so confused by this scent in my last one haha.. actually I’ve started liking this more and more. I think I just don’t like it in the winter, because now it’s spring and I really enjoy wearing it. At first I smell honey, sooo much honey and sweetness. It’s like the whole bottle is dripping in honey. But then I get the bitterness of the orange, a lot of tuber rose and a small hint of something like cherry liquor. Beautiful combination with the honey, but still pretty sickly sweet... after a couple of hours wearing this I get vanilla, so much vanilla and I really like that. I’m a vanilla girl! As it dries down more and more the vanilla shows. The longevity is amazing, probably top 3 longevity in my collection. Silage is great too, I’m usually an oversprayer, but this I only spray two times and I’ve gotten compliments from people being pretty far away from me. Although this is a pretty scent, it’s probably not a safe blind buy.

herculano

Grateful... ever so grateful... that I resisted the urge to blind buy this one.

Just got my sample today. Been wearing it for an hour.

It’s just not for me. Not my style or personality.

First thing I will echo here:
This baby is NUCLEAR strength. And it does appear to be well made. Rich and full. Sensual.

And has already been discussed, the sweetness of this cannot be overstated.
It will give you cavities.

And though I do love honey.... I don’t love cherry.

I read a review here that described a “dirty” smell lurking within this one.

Like a faint smell of an old mans shirt after a long day of carpentry in the sun.

I do pick this up, too.

But it’s not the thing that turns me off. A little skank or dirtiness isn’t a deal breaker for me.

This is just simply too sweet for me.

And that’s all she wrote.

PS. On the woman who loves this and wears this... I bet I would love it on you.

If you love it, it probably means it fits your style and personality.

Just so grateful I didn’t put down 100$ for it, because this one simply wasn’t made for me.
Thank you God!

I can’t reasonably afford my many perfume intrigues.

Emer0de

Exact DNA of the original. I'm ensure why anyone would say they're totally different. They're not. They have that same honey base. But the original Scandal honey note is way way stronger. By night is softer, more wearable, and a bit creamier. I definitely prefer this one. The vanilla is more noticeable in the dry down , whereas in the original honey overtakes everything. I had a love hate relationship with the original. I wanted to like it, but I had to force myself. By Night brings the balance I was looking for.

mystike23

On my skin smells exactly like LVEB. Beast projection! I didn’t want my husband to find out that I’ve been buying perfumes behind his back and with just one spray he knew what I’d done 🤦🏼♀️ He loved it. He said it smells really sweet, very strong, I couldn’t do more than 2 sprays. I’m disappointed, I was expecting something else, something unique, I can’t wear LVEB without getting a headache. Not keeping it ☹️

Mrs_McSnifferson

Good grief this is magnificent. One of 3 samples i received in the mail today and I am hooked. This is an insolence moment. That's what I call it when I fall in live at first sniff no holds barred. I'll do anything to get it, including pissing my husband off by buying a full bottle. Oh just fk me this is pure female glory. I dont even usually like deep or warm scents, although I am ok with Amber and some woods. I have been on the prowl for the perfect cherry scent and have been making do with chocolate covered cherry bbw spray. Which is also very nice and I use liberally when it's cold out. Sometimes layered with aqua di parma rosa nobile. But back to this sexy beast. Its what I was hoping gloria was but she fell short. This just made it into my top 3. This is everything. I can die now.

MaxieF

OMG. Love love love love. It's like if you removed the almond from poison girl and added cherry blossom. Beautiful. Very sweet. Extremely sexual smelling. Animalic, almost musty but just enough to kind of smell like you're an animal in heat lmao.. Way better than the original in my opinion. This has more character and is sweeter. If you like victoria secret honey collection you'll love this. I can't wait to layer this with the honey lotion. Literally YUM.

Edit:
I ended up decluttering it because although I loved it, the honey got on my nerves. Everything else about it is magical but the honey just started smelling like stale pee.

Elena-kur

I’ve tested this fragrance many times, and what I loved about it is the cherry note that depresses a little bit the sweetness.
I can smell 1-honey 2-tuberose 3-cherry 4- orange blossom 5-woods
by the base note I feel somehow clean, like when spraying fresh air-wick in a room
absolutely gonna buy it but just in a small bottle once its sillage is dominant,
the design of the bottle is fancy and luxurious, its my best favorite of whole scandal series.

Lixa

Cherry-centric fragrance. So lots of cherry and vanilla, reminiscent of a cherry pie with some florals. Starts out strong, sweet and loud, but fades pretty quickly into some rather sour fruit pastry. I don't hate it, but I don't like it that much either. It is distinctive allright , you can't mistake it with something else.

For a cherry scent , I would go for Giorgio Red, which I enjoy every now and then although I'm not a fan of cherry, generally speaking.

Out of the Scandal range, I would pick A Paris which has that fantastic pear note, only if it lasted longer.

opining.olfaction

It's a yes for me!
To me, honey is the foremost note and I like the honey in here. I get cherry and orange, adding to the sweetness. The vanilla and tonka bean round things out, providing a gentle spice and some warmth. The woody notes give me a subtle earthiness that still mingles with the sweetness.

JanaHorko

Very sexi, strong scent. Honey smell good. Cheaper version is Police Shock in Scent.

dayana_didi

Very very sweet honey. Sex in a bottle.. The sillage is enormous...
The longevity lasts forever . Must have

Tashr96

Very sweet & very sexy, however not the dark, brooding, mysterious, “come hither” type of sexy.... More like the outgoing, walks up to you in a club, takes your phone & puts her number in it then slaps your butt as she walks away 😂

katheryne_art

I was expecting something more from this perfume. I guess I'm just a little bit tired of most of the designer perfumes as they all seem pretty much the same but with some small differences.... It's just another sweet, fruity, floral but dark perfume and a little bit overpowering. If you like Black Opium, you will like this one too. I am not saying it's bad.. I'm sure many people will absolutely love this perfume, but I don't want to smell like this anymore.

HappyScentTrails

I really recommend scandal by night it smells great smells like a vanilla incense mild and dreamy

Aikipy

I don’t know how that’s possible, but this reminds me of Olympea by Paco Rabanne a lot!! It’s got another honey note on top, which is very potent, but other than that, for me it’s a sweeter version of Olympea, which is completely unexpected! Blind bought this and I was a bit nervous because I was expecting a sweet bomb, but this is wonderfully balanced!

TinaIdra

I like this but I also don't? I don't know how to explain it.. I can feel the honey and some with florals.. It is sweet but not the type of sweet I usally like, it is more heavy cloying sweet. I wear it sometimes and it's quite nice but I don't find myself wanting to sniff my arm? And that is something I always do when wearing perfumes. It is weird, I mean it smells nice and i still want to keep it but I don't want to wear it that often? Longevity is amazing tho, it lasts forever.

paytonstafania

I love this but I love the original way more. What I dont like so much is the tuberose dry down. I guess I have so many fragrances with tuberose I'm tired of it. This one is definitely more fruity and I feel it's a lighter more floral version than my main girl scandal. All in all I will still wear it and I love it.

emeraldwaters

When I put this on a tester strip I was so disappointed and thrown off. I thought it smelled too similar to Scandal but with a cough syrup note. But on the skin it TRANSFORMS!!! Of course its still similar to Scandal but fruitier with the cherry note. I love both, but theyre sooo intense so Ive learned to not overspray and deal with it.

Scandal by Night is a sweet sexy fragrance. Honey, cherry, pear and sandalwood stand out the most to me. It's a definitely gourmand and unlike anything I've smelled so far. I can't compare it to anything. I tried Dior Poison Girl and this doesn't smell like it. I didn't like Poison Girl, but I love Scandal by Night. I also tried Scandal and it's too citrusy and doesn't have a creamy drydown like this one. I don't smell any citrus in Scandal By Night which is a plus. This fragrance is highly recommended for anyone who loves gourmand and wants an introduction to the Jean Paul Gaultier brand.

longevity is insane. i cant wait to wear this for a night out whenever we can do that again :/

Probably the sweetest perfume I have ever owned with a great performance. This smells thick and syrupy, maybe a bit boozy at times with a prominent honeyed cherry note and a dark vibe. It actually smells exactly like the colour of the juice looks and by wearing this, you should be able to turn some heads. Scandal by night is definitely a night scent as the name indicates and you absolutely need to like bold sweet scents to love this one!

i find the original to be sweeter than this one , i love both , but scandal by night is more mature and sexy , and yes it is a night perfume . i will use the original as a day perfume and use this one at night .

This only for the Sweet-Gourmand lovers.

Mouthwatering - extremely creamy - buttery - sweet vanilla pudding with glazed cherries and honey on top.

Linear and not that complex BUT it is unique in my opinion...

It is common for people to comment that all sweet scents are the same but I disagree.

This has nothing to do with Poison Girl or Pure XS and it doesn't remind me of the original Scandal either, they just share the same DNA but not a clear resemblance.

Appropriate for the fall-winter time and loud. You have to be careful with the sprays on this one.

Delicious in my opinion.

Ugh I wanted to like this so bad! I love JPG scents. The original Scandal is much better than this. Scandal By Night smells like cherry cough syrup. I have a full bottle that I am never going to use. I'm pretty disappointed. 😞

I had higher expectations from this one. I blind bought it based on reviews but it’s honestly not that great. It is labelled as intense but on my skin it’s moderate sillage and longevity about 4-5 hours. Which for it’s price is a little dissappointing. Smells sweet but not nauseatingly sweet. Please try it before you buy it. Might be my skin ph but it’s surely not long lasting. It’s quite linear, nothing too complex about it regarding it’s scent.

i know this fragrance is meant for the night time but i feel like fragrance can be worn whenever and this has slowly become my signature scent.the cherry and honey in this is so addictive i get so many compliments and it lasts for hours.i have yet to smell any other flankers besides so scandal (which didn’t work out for me) but i really hope this one never stops being sold because it’s so lovely. i am 25 and this scent makes me feel so confident and sexy.if you haven’t gotten your nose on this one then i would definitely recommend you do so. don’t be scared because of the tuberose it definitely isn’t like the tuberose from gucci bloom (trust me it’s my mom’s signature scent) the tuberose in SBN is almost buttery i really enjoy this fragrance and i’m so glad that i found a backup bottle

Oh, I adore this one! I am drawn to gourmands and have been trying out so many recently, this is my favorite I think. It's sweet but not syrupy or cloying, it almost is a bit powdery and creamy to me. It's not an artificial sweetness like you find in some perfumes, it smells completely natural and also feels very grown up. It's sexy but in a mature way and not 'trashy' like I've seen others say (which I don't completely understand). I feel like this is a very refined perfume and I wouldn't have any issue wearing it during the day, it doesn't scream just night time or going out to me. Longevity is amazing and the sillage is as well. I sprayed it once on my arm and walked into the kitchen briefly, my husband went in there several minutes later and came to find me to smell me some more because it had caught his attention after I left the room.

This is very headache inducing to me. I love gourmands but I can’t wear this without feeling nauseous. I’ll probably give this one away. The lasting power was excellent though.

WOW!!! I love these sweet, strong scent so much. THis is even better than the original. Anyone ever eard of the gorup "The uaways"? (here Oan Jett started out). They had a hit called Cherry bomb. This is it. Rock star worthy. Classy Rock Star though. Think..... Stevie Nicks. Late nights, bad boys, lots of tequila but never cheap, never. Creamy, honey, CHERRY and still not skanky, just delicious. It has been compared with angel Muse (that I have and LOVE too), but Muse is or hazelnu choclate, also wonderful and in the same geoup, but this is so heavy an the honey.. love/hate? It is probably either or. För me it is LOVE. :-)

I wanted to like this because it smelled so good on paper but on my skin it doesn’t, I can’t explain what it is. The opening is gorgeous on my skin and I love it but it quickly turns into “I sprayed myself two days ago and haven’t showered” kinda smell, like perfume that stays on skin way too long and starts to smell... stale? The top notes disappear quite quickly and the whole thing just vanishes altogether within an hour. I sprayed my arm 2 hours ago and all I can smell is that stale kinda smell, I don’t know what note(s) is giving off that vibe but I much prefer everything about the original one better: the obnoxious honey blast (that I love), the sillage, longevity and the dry down!
Don’t get me wrong, I’m trying to like this because I truly enjoy the first few minutes of the scent and I reckon it might be a skin chemistry thing. To be fair I often layer the original Scandal with Juliette has a gun “not a perfume” because I discovered it tones down the honey bomb a bit and makes the whole thing more appropriate for work and day time wear. In fact I often spray JHAG “not a perfume” under the sweetest gourmand fragrances I have and it really helps cut the sweetness and make the fragrance last longer!

imo this is one of the best honey based designer fragrances that i have tested to date! It is just complete from every aspect! everything that needed to be improved in the first two versions (scandal and scandal à paris) this one have it, it lacks uniqueness because obviously it is a flanker of the first release but overall my rating for this frag would be 8.5/10
and as a man i say this is a man-magnet! super attractive scent but to use with moderation! if u're going to a dinner date and chose to wear this , id say 3 sprays are way more than enough anything more than that would not be good.. but if u're going clubbing then 4-6 sprays r perfect! work? no way! dont wear this for work, going shopping? theres no need to, it doesnt fit that category of activity but two sprays would be perfect! if u have this u dont need to buy so scandal, or scandal à paris! u can still get scandal though, as it is a bit less sweet than this one.....

Perfume_madness

Cherry bomb!!!! Its fantastic!! The longevity is also amazing. Its for a great night out! If we ever get to do that again.

As usual Jean Paul Gaultier makes some amazing quality perfumes with crazy performance!!

I don't like the original Scandal, not because it's a bad fragrance but i couldn't stand the sweetness of it, the honey note was too powerful for my taste

But this one OH MY GOD the cherry, bitter orange and orange blossom made the honey note not over powering! It's still very very sweet but in a way that i can stand it
The drydown is almost like la vie est belle (i guess it's the patchouli)

For people who like poison girl edp, they're very similar, from the sweetness and the orange note

La Belle and Scandal by night are 2 very sexy perfumes that i looooooove but i only have in 30 ml, i'm sure if i had bigger bottles i couldn't finish due to the oversweetness

I give this 9/10 for longevity and projection, it's very strong IMPRESSIVE

Edit: it's too sweet and thick for my taste, it gives me headache and nausea sometimes
I'm a floral perfume lover i like some kind of freshness in my perfumes
For sweet perfume lovers, this is perfection

anidamasceno

On my skin I get this tasty, warm cherry pie with honey syrup.
When it starts to get almost "creamy", thanks to the vanilla note, a hint of something fresh, probably the bitter orange, enters to remind you this is not a yummy dessert but a very feminine, sexy and seductive fragrance.
Great performance.

OMG, I thought Velvet Orchid by Tom Ford blew my nose out, but this one was even worse lol. Yeezus, this is horribly sweet and that amberwood note is hideous. I should have known better when I saw amberwood in the pyramid but I was hoping the sweetness would cover it up. No such luck. Damn, this is making me want to throw up. In fact, it reminds me of a supermodel who got drunk at some high fashion after-party and spewed all over her apartment, leaving this scent behind.

kahvipaussi

Love! This is a very strong perfume with good longevity and sillage. It's sweet but still sophisticated. Definitely a night time perfume, I feel like wearing this to work or school would be offensive, haha. It smells like actual honey and cherry. You definitely get some citrus as well when you first spray it. It's very "warm" on the skin. Works well in colder climates. I think it definitely makes a statement and I don't reach out for it that much. For me it is the perfect date night perfume as it's very sexy.

Gingersnaps777

I definitely have to be in the mood for this one. It is sweet and fruity with some wafts of florals when the wind blows. At times I also feel like I’m smelling fruit punch. When you do get a whiff of honey it smells smooth and almost creamy. The dry down is sexy, intimate, and more mature. The beginning smells more young and flirty. Overall a fun fragrance that can lift my mood. 8+ hours on skin and it can fill a room.

CC317

Idk about this, I’m confused about the hype. It’s linear and super sweet and then dries down to smell like baby cereal. This smells like Soggy cornflakes or sweaty skin but not b.o. also reminds me of baby cereal in milk that’s dripped down onto the fat rolls of an infants neck and then you wipe it off and they burp in your face. Innocent yet gross🤮

Trang.nnt

I don't like the original Scandal, but I love this one. Scandal by night is a more sophisticated sister to Scandal, but much sexier. Scandal is too sweet and loud for me, while Scandal By Night talks less, and more mysterious.
Last 8 hours one me with good sillage. Delicious dark syrup honey.
