This is definitely one of the best Jo Malone fragrances.
Unisex, fruity and classy.

asimpleperfumelover

Spicy cloves, with some fruity hint in the opening. To me, that's not enough and I often find I want to layer this with another fragrance that has berries or apples in it to balance the woodiness.

veronodx

So… are we going to collectively ignore that this is Euphoria’s older sister (or her grandma even)?? I’m still testing her but I’m not the biggest fan so far 🤷🏻♀️

Lanierrr

This is my baby. And I gatekeep it whenever asked what I’m wearing (which is all the time; men, women, and otherwise, old/young). It smells incredibly sexy and boozy, it’s truly intoxicating. The first time I wore it, I just said “Yeah!” out loud. The fruit combination is irresistible, their profiles are so similar and they complement each other incredibly well. PN definitely has a masculine lean so I embrace it by layering with my lovely Mahogany Teakwood body cream from Bath and Body Works. Wore that combo on a date and almost got eaten alive! I swear by it. Love love love this fragrance!!!

vanillababy111

I smelled this two years ago and I still regret not buying it. Beautiful, deep, spicy and fruity. Lasts for days when sprayed on clothes

melancholybaby

One of my favorites from the line. Opens with a very light fruit accord without the sweetness, and then morphs into the patchouli note which lasts quite a long time.

Chloerose666

Sorry but Jo Malone really needs to work on their longevity. This smells friggin' lush to me, however only for an hour or two. Don't get me wrong I can still smell it very VERY faintly for 8ish hours but its just not strong enough and for the price I don't want to be reapplying all day long. This is the problem with all JM's for me personally and its such a shame because in actual fact the range of scents they offer are most up my street and what i want to be smelling like but I am unwilling to pay that much for something known to have shite longevity. I am shocked at the votes here, wasn't expecting any to say 'enormous sillage' lol.

AlliCat1215

It's nice, but I honestly think I prefer this scent profile in home products, like candles. It's a little popourri-ish to me.

ejhinojosa

I'd describe this as smelling like a blend of Fat Electrician and a Djarum Black clove cigarette.

NoMilkToday

It stinks on my skin. Cannot start to describe how bad it is. A big NO.

choann

So nasty and unfresh there is something medicinal and syrupy about the pomegranate

NightKnight

This smells like that one asian grandfather/uncle at the yearly gettogether that smokes.
That being said its not bad, very cedary woody type scent but I don't get any fruits from this, it also feels a bit too masculine leaning for my taste. It dries down to a nice smokey incense kind of scent. If you like very warm woody scents this is probably more up your alley.

Iconic'80s

I love this. My only issue with it is that it's gone in no time on my skin.
I gravitate towards warm, spicy scents and this one is so nice. It's bright from the pomegranate yet spicy from the clove and warm from the woody, musky base notes.
It checks all of my boxes except that it just doesn't last and the price doesn't match that if I have to keep re-applying every 3 hours.

Rocky929

Spicy Cloves, Honeyed Purple Fruits, Dry Woods

Smells like drinking hot mulled wine from a hug mug by candlelight, next to the Christmas tree, while reading a cozy mystery, as you catch glimpses of the first snow of the year through the window. This is coziness and wintertime hygge in a bottle. It makes me want to drink a hot toddy and snuggle under a blanket or meet friends for sweet brandy old fashioneds at a chalet style supper club in the Northwoods of Wisconsin.

I am a the type of person who hibernates in winter and pursues a life of coziness during the long harsh Wisconsin winters, and while this scent feels like a warm, comforting hug in frozen world, it is equally sexy and mysterious in the right setting. This is the scent to complete a bordeaux colored cashmere dress worn with chocolate brown heeled boots on your way to meet your friends at a jazz bar for cocktails.

Love this! Only wish it was not a cologne concentration and came in an eau de parfum. Oil Perfumery's dupe is pretty good and projects and lasts longer for those wishing this scent came at a lower price and with better performance or if you want to layer it with the cologne to extend the life and sillage of it.

smelleroo

smells like a pretty lady in her 30s, she has shiny brown hair, its winter and dark outside, she's wearing a deep purple trench coat to keep warm. clove heavy scent, test it first

fernanda88480

Loved the clove and woods combination! The rhubarb and raspberry make it very sexy and intense, but not sweet at all. For those unhappy about the sillage, I suggest buying the lotion. Stays a lot longer.

Layered it with orange bitters and turned out heavenly.

BurningTundra

Evening/night scent. Super random, but it smells like a nice older woman or a male jazz-players house. Woody, very mature, sultry, deep, woody. Emotional. Definitely a scent for older folks. Reminds me of when I was a kid and I used to go to my friend's house. Her mom was nice, jet black hair, half Quebec and Native. It smelled like her. Smells like smile lines in the corner of the eyes, like dark brown moody floors and red rich velvet curtains. Cozy and sultry living room at 8 pm. This scent would pair perfectly with a heavy snowfall, as streetlights reflect and glisten while nobody sees.

goodchat

This is the winter holidays in a bottle. An essential on my shelf, I’ll never be without.

bebaaa

one of my favourite jo malone scents. super wearable, fruity in a masculine sense on the opening but dries to a spicier woody scent. reminds me of tall women and wine

CRogersKK

I just love this fragrance on me. There's something more than just fruity Pomegranate. The woody notes balance well with the fruity notes. I love putting in on a cold autumn day. Not as spicy and musky enough for winter.

Kizzyb93

When I finished my last bottle of this, I said I wouldn’t buy another not that it’s a bad fragrance because I actually really love this! but it just last an hour long on my skin. However, I have literally just gone out pacifically to buy another bottle. Tell me the smells likes Christmas pines super spicy and very deep I found this almost tickles your nose., although this leans masculine I find it very elegant at the same time. I have never paid this with anything before, and I wouldn’t want to. Just wish it lasted longer on my skin
Glad to have this back in my collection
(this has a clean girl vibe and I’m all for it)

Ana260189

Jo Malone has my heart. I yet have to find a perfume of theirs I don’t like. To me this scent leans more on the masculine side. I could smell a mix of clove, cedar and musk. Very sophisticated, fresh and elegant. I think this is more of a day scent, spring/summer, office wear. Ideal to layer. I tried it with Kilian Angels’ share, compliments it very well, reminds me of a Moschino I used back in the early 2000.

Junniesmilktea

It’s quite a cool scent leaning masculine. Very sexy, musky and seductive. I’m definitely getting the notes, especially spicy with the tartness being more underneath. It’s extremely strong when you spray it and if you’re smelling it close to wear you’ve sprayed but it honestly doesn’t project much. My friend had to pick up my arm to smell it about 15 minutes after the initial spray. I don’t love it but I think I could like it. I layered it with Gaiac 10 on top and it mellowed out a bit and I’d say they pair nicely. Alluring, musky and spicy. Just wish it projected a little more.

fvnaticbychoice

GOREGOUS. smells exactly like a BBW candle called Sunset Desert/Wine Cellar. deep and sexy but not cloying.

SpiderMarc

This is probably my favourite Jo Malone fragrance of all time, it’s a contemporary classic for anytime of the day. So unique and alluring, maybe even seductive.

My favourite layering combinations for Pomegranate Noir:
Grapefruit
Lime Basil & Mandarin
Vetiver Pamplemousse (created by Jo Malone for Zara)

Nqobie0303

I live for scents like this where I am not expecting much but then I get very much. I am also a sucker for unusual-smelling fragrances, and this does just that. It's winter in South Africa, and I am enjoying this very much. I bagged a lot of compliments at the office; some of my colleagues even went as far as asking me what I was wearing. It projected for a good 2 hours max and then radiated at arm's length for the rest of the day. When I got home, I could still get whiffs of it from time to time.

The Wolf

Smells really good on tester, rhubarb and pomegranate. On my skin the guaiac and clove is amped up resembling vicks vapor rub. After that settles I get the plum and other ingredients that smells like the holidays. It's okay, but I prefer other things from the house. Doesn't work well on my skin.

Scent 4/10

kookaburra1000

Don't you dare glance over one more review from these cheugy Brits. This fragrance is elegant, delicious…I would drink it if I could.

FragranceRain

I can clearly smell the pomegranate from opening to dry down but it is not sweet or fruity. Very very spicy and dark scent. The opening is overpowering. I would say it is a masculine leaning scent but I don't find it pleasant.

asiu

When I first tried this perfume, I wasn't sure what to expect. I applied it before checking the scent pyramid and was surprised to find olibanum as one of the key notes. As a lover of olibanum, I was excited to see how it would play out in this fragrance. And I must say, it does give a wonderful depth and complexity to the scent. However, while I appreciated the addition of olibanum, I couldn't help but feel that this fragrance just wasn't for me. I'm not a fan of pomegranate scents that slaps you in the face, and unfortunately, that's exactly what this fragrance did to me. While it's not my personal favorite, I can certainly appreciate the quality and artistry behind this scent.

MatchaCat

I mainly get black pepper, some tartness and oakmoss. The oakmoss is that same dark and fresh note found many men's sporty colognes, which makes this lean more masculine. I wish there was more fruity sweetness to balance out the masculine note and make this more unisex. While this would work great for a man, I don't see it appealing to many women.

This fragrance reminds me a lot of Vilhelm Parfumerie's Do Not Disturb. Do Not Disturb has a more boozy, earthy dark fruit note, with the oakmoss and black pepper toned down.

Smell: 7 out of 10
Longevity: 8 out of 10

For reference, I'm female.

Mikejla79

Leans masculine, the clove and pepper is a bit too spicy on its own, but I tried to layer it with very sweet and feminine perfumes and it makes a perfect base for especially vanilla heavy scents. I am glad I didn't give up on this scent.

Familylove

I was disappointed in this fragrance. The smell of cloves is overpowering and reminds me to much of having toothache as a child. Not for me I'm afraid.

ibralemmi

I dont understand the negative reviews. I loved this fragrance, kindof reminds me of intense cafe typa rose, it doesnt have rose though but im saying it’s reminiscent of that in a way, Though I DEFINITELY prefer this one, tons.
This silage and longevity is amazing, I sprayed one spray before coming out of the frag-store and it totally overshadowed the other frags that I had sprayed on my other hand.
You can feel the scent around you for hours.

astralmonad870

The combination of the red fruits and spicy wood reminds me of Shay and Blue’s Framboise Noire, I think the latter is based on this except Jo Malone’s scent is more subtle and better blended. Who would think to put in watermelon and cedar in the same fragrance?

abkat

Very sharp clove-y smell without any noticeable pomegranate/fruity notes. Not sure I'd label this as unisex; it leans very masculine IMO.

Tao_tao

I got a vial and tried until it run out, overall, I would say I hate it.

Samasama

This is so weird. It starts off smelling like straight up cheap christmas house deodorant, specially on paper, but applied on skin and transferred into clothes it starts opening up into something very interesting. As the Japanese say: omoshiroi.

Still have to give it more full-day wears but definitely something that is neither fully spicy nor fully woody, and that space in between is what makes it such a headscratcher for me.

It kinda feels like picking up a reptile for the first time, i would say. Not as cold as you might thought it would feel, muscular, strong yet soft and powdery in a way.

Edit: definitely Jubilation vibes!!!

BigBobRoss

Lovely scent fruity warm and inviting, unisex great for the winter months

OveractiveNose

I get pomegranate, cloves, and woods. It gets a little sweeter and fainter every hour. 9 hours later, and I can still faintly smell it on my wrist, though "skin scent" would be an understatement. It's about 70% gone 9 hours in, which is pretty damn good for a Jo Malone. This is definitely better longevity than her stuff is known for.

NinaGi

Straight up smoke on me, one that makes me gag. I can't smell anything else. One of the longest lasting Jo Malone fragrances.

sinusbradycardia

I don't get any cloves or spiciness from this at all, it just smells like floral washing powder on me! Really disappointing.

rrimr_

a perfect autumn/winter scent!
the silage is strong and the scent is long-lasting. after reading other reviews, i do agree that it is a candle-type smell but i love it as a wearable fragrance anyway. i get mainly pomegranate, clove, and woody notes. very warming and cosy!

derby2169

When I initially read pomegranate I didn’t expect so much spice, woods and smoke in this composition. Nonetheless it works great! I personally don’t immediately recognise pomegranate but a general slightly tart semisweet fruitiness in the opening that leads to a beautiful spicy incense resinous woody dry down. I don’t get as much patchouli as others state, I get more of a woody amber development nonetheless quite woody, dark and spicy.
My one issue with it, way too much clove, I get heaps of eugenol in the opening and it takes a while for it to calm down.

Nonetheless, probably one of the best Jo Malone offerings in general.

h149

As soon as I sprayed this tester on my +1 he started yelling about how it smells like a Christmas tree. It's probably the clove. I find it pleasantly spicy but I would agree; it's very potpourri, very candle, not so much a wearable fragrance but a cozy environmental scent.

nemo970

More fruity at the beginning, but I am getting Amouage Jubilation XXV Man in the drydown, love it!

SpookyMoon

There is a drink called Norfolk Punch. Its recipe is over 700 years old, originally made by monks from a concoction of berries, herbs and spices. It is syrupy, intensely jammy and vaguely medicinal. When I was a child I would drink it warmed up when the adults were having mulled wine, and it became a scent of Christmas for me. That is what Pomegranate Noir smells like, and I wear it in the cold to visit Christmas markets and carol concerts, any time I want a waft of mulled fruit to follow me around.

arizonaruby

I find this to be quite a unique scent, especially among the rest of the JM line. Despite all the fruit notes it’s not really sweet at all - it’s a spicy, slightly woody, autumn/winter nighttime scent. I think other reviewers calling it ‘muddled fruits’ or ‘stewed fruits’ is spot on. It definitely reminds me of a northern hemisphere Christmas; the fruits and spices make it a bit reminiscent of fruit pudding. Although that sounds a bit odd, it is in fact a really nice scent and I don’t think there’s many on the market like it. As with all JM scents, the sillage isn’t massive, but the longevity is decent for me.

erika.isme.98

Better as a candle

funeralparty

This is not as strong of a pomegranate perfume as I was expecting, it definitely has a medicinal quality as mentioned in the previous comments but I do like it. It’s perfect for a fall or winter night, but not for going out as I mistakenly assumed. It didn’t project very far for me and it’s not really a “gets you noticed” type of scent. I should have worn this to Thanksgiving dinner, it’s good for that kind of occasion. Subtle and spicy but not TOO spicy. Rhubarb and clove are the strongest notes.

Odina

What is this??? I'm so disappointed.
It smells like medicine and old fruit's. Feeling noise about pomegranate.

Salkavalka

I've already re-bought this twice, and I think I'll always need to have it in my collection. It's perfect for cold climate: I crave it in the fall and winter. The scent is really, really pleasant, I get mostly carnation and spices and something juicy, but in the most elegant way. I get nauseous with most modern scents, but never with Pomegranate Noir. It has a kind of aromatherapy feel to it, uplifting and festive.

karlinejess

Very spicy and woody fragrance, to me it smells medicinal, resembling traditional herbs and spices used as poultice / alternative medicine in my country. On its own I feel that it’s too unisex leaning masculine, but it’s so good combined with other scents. Too bad it would do well only when it rains where I live… hot weather ruins the charm of Pomegranate Noir. If it weren’t for the price this would be a nice bedtime scent, it’s just so cold and cozy.

Verrucosa

Juicy pomegranate and woods. Some gentle spices. I don't find it overwhelmingly spicy. It's not as christmasy to me as it is to some reviewers. I do think it's a great fall/winter choice but I find it light enough that you could wear it most of the year. I love it. I'm just a big fan of this kind of fruity, woodsy, spicy fragrance.

It's longer lasting than a lot of Jo Malones, though still not hugely long lasting on my skin.

Eehhsjsja

Honestly, this smell is really good and you can really smell the spice once it dries down, I've been told this smell reminds you of campfires

likesleet

this is very unlike the rest of the jo malone collection, which is why i like this one. deep woody spices with bits of purple/red fruit

GiulianaC

This smells too spicy for me. It's more like a cozy wintery candle that would still be too spicy for me to burn even during the coldest of winters. I need to layer it with something fresh and heavy on the vanilla to be able to stand it. I think pomegranates would be much better with lighter, sweeter scent profiles. Maybe this is just not for me. It's strong and opulent, spicy, but too sour and woodsy to be a easy to wear scent. Christmas morning cookies and fancy candles overload.

jellisunc

This is the fragrance I have been looking for after many years - it smells just like a candle my old roommate gave to me in college. Such great memories here - although performance is sadly lacking as are most JM.

Great scent but I will say I may enjoy it more as a candle! The pomegranate here is slightly warm and spicy - great scent to cuddle up by.

witch_mum

Jo Malone's fragrances are known / promoted for mixing them with each other. This one has IMO enough complexity without any mixing or pairing. Besides the categories aromatic and frutiy I also would describe it as woody and spicy and those notes are well balanced. The frangrance is long lasting, it was definitely a worth buy for me :)

liebecherie

Got a sample of this scent. This is very spicy, sweet, and woody. A nighttime fall/winter scent. It’s nice, but not my type of fragrance.

JackieM

I see a lot of people feel that this is a Christmas scent, but to me it's October all the way. Outdoors in the woods, dry leaves underfoot, cool but not cold air, harvested fruits, spiced tea. Maybe a little bit of dampness like ground wet by light rain. Good combination of fresh and dry, with sweet and a little sunny. Makes me think of hunting season in the forest.

trevorstilerocks

I've smelled this perfume and it is vaguely similar to jo malone 154. Regardless, it smells great. I think this would be a great seasonal scent perfect in cold weather.

mrshnchnkm

This is a Christmas fragrance for me, pomegranate on a pine base with hints of cloves and allspice. This is the scent of mulled wine on a cold Christmas day. Spicy, warming, yet sour and tart.

minamartin

All i get is a glass of alcohol that had a piece of dark chocolate dropped in it.
Disgusting.

QUEENBOWIE143

This has been my signature scent for close to 6 years now. I smelled it on a co-worker who introduced me to Jo Malone fragrances and I just adore it. It's sexy, feminine and masculine, and I get sooooo many compliments on it.

koto_zbik

It smells like Ribena mixed with Listerine, hard no.

Elinorjohanse

Overpowering, extremely sweet pink pepper that gives you a headache.

curlykitty8

Sadly this lovely fragrance is now a mere whisper of the lovely, spicy delight it once was!
I only wish I had bought several bottles before Jo Malone sold out, not just her company but the soul of her perfumes.

oreoisacat

hard no. like what others say, too much clove, too spicy and not enough sweet/woody.
I can smell the Christmas/sugar plum/rhubarb/wood incense in them when I try, but the very first thing that springs to mind on first whiff is some kind of strange oriental oil or cough syrup as someone below said.

alphairone

I smell deep red spiced mulled wine, with lots of cloves when I wear Pomegranate Noir, its warm and cozy, like a soft cashmere sweater. Speaking of cashmere, an ingenious use of Cashmeran is found in this composition, as it melds with the clove and stewed fruits accord beautifully, imparting a wonderful, fuzzy, musky, woody dry down.

Visions of sugar plums dance on my skin, there is the impression of strawberry rhubarb pie, a cedar wood incense cone to set the mood for the season, with its smokiness courtesy of guaiac wood in the heart (you haven't lived until you smelled guaiac wood extraction in its raw form). The pomegranate note itself, sweet yet tart, imparts on Christmas punch quality as well, its truthfully more like a cranberry note than anything else. I also am reminded of the deep crimson bayberry candles, a holiday tradition in New England. Bayberry (Myrica gale, also colloquially known as bog myrtle or sweet gale) has fragrant, peppery berries that immediately remind many in the US of Christmastime.

I am finally in the holiday spirit today wearing Pomegranate Noir. All is calm, all is bright.

Ugurcan Arslan

I love this scent, Longevity: on skin 7-8h, İn cloth 10h+ (2 spray), projection 6-7/10, You can buy this :)

rolanddano

I have no idea why but for me this is smells like a summer rain.

Millapetrovich

Hard no for me. Cloves are too overpowering and I can’t really smell anything else in there. Headache inducing.

Marcyjuno

A wintery smelling perfume because of how much of the cedar I can smell. It’s not rich or deep but more fresh smelling and a tiny bit peppery. The pomegranate is giving a tiny bit of sweetness but you have to search for it as the cedar and other notes are far more dominant. I can imagine this as more of a candle scent than a perfume

Kizzyb93

Yet again another blind buy , and I won’t lie this was not what I was expecting (I never read notes before blind buying any more cuz if I do I end up getting all similar perfumes and I like variety) so obviously I knew it had pomegranate and I was expecting it to be deep and dark/deep . But first spray this really did shock me in a good way this is airy it’s fresh yet peppery but the main thing that sticks out to me is this pine like smell. This for me is something different for me and I’m starting to like it more as the weathers getting colder. This makes me think of New Year’s Day at a family dinner party fireplace litt That’s the vibes I get from this

emma katherine

A Christmas pomegranate cocktail. Very juicy, a little bit spicy, not sweet, perfect year-round on anybody.

Robotnik19

Great fragrance just smelled it in store. The comparisons people say to Mancera Hindu Kush is definitely accurate. I already have Hindu Kush so I won’t need this but definitely try this if you haven’t.

AaronT

Just got a sample - Definite Christmas vibes - I don't understand how someone wouldn't be able to link christmas with this, even a tiny bit, and I think when this was formulated they didn't use the clove note properly because it just "blunders" right through the scent, it's not very strong but it does smell like a spice rack - pure cloves; which is good, and again it smells nice - but do I want to smell like the stong cloves in my spice rack, no. I like it a lot, but I don't know if I would wear it, but I do like that when I smell it there is a good mixture of musks in the base that contrasts to the cloves smell, but if only they had added a few more notes maybe a bit more guaic wood, way less cloves more pink pepper a bit of black pepper a bit more of the musk and this would have been a winner, and Not full bottle worthy - why? Yes you guessed it - it smells like cloves (lol).
P.S. also a bit like an Xmas or spice inspired Yankee candle, don't let this dishearten you, try it, and you might like it, especially if you like a strong cloves smell, I like spices but not this one and not in such big amounts.

zenais86

A complex balsamic perfume with clove that rules above others. UNisex and fantastic. i love it!

lantpls

i'm actually amazed by how well this perfume is able to capture pomegranate; it gives a juicy, almost sour sensation when smelling it and it just perfectly portrays the experience of eating pomegranate pips! it lasts incredibly well and i think it can get overbearing at times and after a while it does turn into a sort of tea-adjacent smell on me, but i really like it nonetheless and i think it is a really really interesting fragrance.

Vulcan35

One can think of other, much more precise two-word names for this mess of a scent. "False Promises" (it's not pomegranate, it's clove. It's not noir but more like a grey, cloudy day). "Late Autumn" (because this literally doesn't work in any other season and it's reminiscent of yellow leaves piling up at the side of the road -but don't get exited by the description). Actually, let's just skip two-word names, cause this isn't just "Late Autumn" but a "Monday Morning in Late Autumn" when you enter the office and find the mess you left on Friday evening waiting there for you. The perfect example of what happens with fragrances when you're trying too hard. 4/10

LaContessina

This is the Jo Malone that has definitely the longest staying power on me but also the one that unfortunately I seem to appreciate less.

I am into orientals, I also like spicy ones, but the combination of notes here gives me an instant migraine, unfortunately. It is indeed a non conventional oriental.
So it starts out loud. Berries, red ones, and a note of … banana (yes, and I do not like it).

Then a lot of pepper. That almost burns your nostrils. I detect a blast of a fresh, balsamic note , like juniper or cypress – although none of those are mentioned I the notes.

It may very well be that the frankincense makes me think to a conifer tree like juniper (I like the smell of juniper berries and branches, they feel like home at Christmas).

However, that said, there is not much that I like in this frag. It is way too heavy on the berries!
And I do not detect any pomegranate in it: I love how the fruit tastes although it has not a very strong smell. But there... despite the name, there is none.
It lingers on very sweet due to the patchouli but has not the personality or depth one would expect.
I still smell that balsamic note after a few hours. It is not something I would wear, but I must recognize this is an interesting fragrance, all in all.

Hk2622

For me the cloves are too over powering. This one note dominates the while scent and give me headaches.

fancythat

This has been my signature "going out" scent for years, and I always get lots of compliments when I wear it. It's sexy, mysterious, complex, and stands out in a crowd. It has powerul projection/sillage. I honestly have never been able to pinpoint most of the notes (despite wearing it so much), but just know I love how it sits on my skin. It's spicy with a bit of sweet and fruity.

nirvana6

First time in my life I don't dare to put a scent on my skin... I like different kind of perfumes and I think I am open-minded, but this one.... I have a sample and I have sprayed it on paper and I do not like at all. I don't see any Christmas vibe at all. It's sour, I am sorry to say it, but on paper reminds me to vomit, that acidness... I am sure it's my nose and it's weird associations, but definitely not for me. If I dare to put this on my skin, and my opinion chances, I will update.

Anitanita.

Very, very unique.I remember one girl at work wearing this fragrance, everytime when I could smell it in the office I knew she is already at work.Silage is huge, longevity is unreal.
It has some medicinal smell mixed with honey and cedar wood, that is the best way I can describe it.
Never got single compliment on this one lol but I don't care .Will re-purchase as I love it.

Panos Serras

Maybe one of the most unique smells that you will ever find but it’s not something special to be honest if you enjoy the main notes maybe try to give a test you never know..

poppymae83

I bought this scent after having a Reed diffuser in the same scent and falling in love. Normally Joe Malone perfumes are too strong for me and give me a headache, however, this perfume is deep and complex without the overpowering scents.
There is definitely a strong spice smell, with clove definitely standing out. Smells a bit like Christmas, as it reminds me of christingles. Really like this scent as a sophisticated nightime perfume, but too much for anything other than special occasions.

TammyLuSmells

Holy spice bomb! If smelling like cloves and cinnamon and general spicy-ness. If that is your thing, then go for it but not for me.

That said, I layered it with English pear and freesia and it added depth and texture to what is normally a simple one-note fragrance. So it has its uses. I will use it in layering but not solo.

Gray Sea

Have you ever went to a traditional Chinese wedding dinner, and then you're served with the ultra luxe (imitation) Shark Fin Soup, where your relatives would put Cognac or XO or some sort of booze in it, it gets served in your bowl, and you put a dash of black vinegar? This is that in liquid form.

I love the soup, but I don't want to smell like it -- it's boozy, sour, dense, deep, if an old man in a grey suit would walk in with his cane, he might smell like this. I don't get any of the Christmas vibes, potpourri vibes everyone else is getting. Maybe my nose is borked, I don't know. I gave this so many tries, perhaps more than 5 times on me from my bottle, then in the shop hoping that I might got a bad bottle, then in samples, on my skin, on clothes, hoping it develops to something less bitter and boozy, SOMETHING.. No fruit, no spices, no wood, no potpourri, just absolute Chinese soup boozy decadent luxe cooked down to fragrant water essence. It just didn't work on me. Where's pomegranate? I want to smell like Persephone blessed me, that Hades would walk pass me and smile! Solid pass, it's the only Jo Malone I've tried and CANNOT love.

Jana711xx

Weird one this but I love it and always have a bottle in my collection. There is nothing sophisticated about it, I get the Christmas vibe but to me it smells like Vimto with sage and onion stuffing at it’s heart.....is that gourmand or just a strange Jo Malone concoction 🤔

catgotnose

I don’t know how to put it nicely but this smells like horse barn to me. Opening smells dirty. Absolutely the opposite intension of wearing perfume. Dry down has some interesting different spiciness but not good enough to bare the opening. I am not sure if I smell pomegranate or maybe it numbed my nose. Even it does, not the ones I ate. Like I said I pay for to smell opposite of this. Similar to Mancera Hindu Kush.

GingerCherry21

The smell instantly reminds me of Christmas candles and going to church on Christmas Eve and shopping in little market style boutiques around the holiday period. It has a spicy warm punch, mixed with incense that isn’t necessarily a bad smell, but it is by no means the type of smell I want on myself. I took to spritzing this around my place in the winter just to use up the decant I have. Not for me at all. It’s also not subtle! If you wear this, expect people to smell you from afar.

MissAnnette

It started really peppery then morphs into smoky woody cedar scent. It’s very masculine on my skin but it is unisex on the scent strip.

emerson10

HOLY CLOVE.

This is the scent of Christmas. Agree with everyone below comparing this to Christmas potpourri. Much more suitable as a room spray or candle than body fragrance.

I didn't not like it, I just don't have any desire to smell like that. I also get wafts of Vick's vaporub in the far background beneath the clove. Now if this were a scented menthol ointment, it would be the best smelling menthol ointment in all the land. But it's not. It's an EDC.

The cedar shines in the middle, and the dry down is when we finally get those fruity berry notes. Much more pleasant than the opening IMO.

Still, it's a no from me.

SmellsGreat33

Yes it does smell like potpourri, but its pleasant enough. It actually garnered some compliments in the office.

Update: I have worn this several times and each time I love it more. Also, each time I have received a compliment about how nice I smell. Perhaps I will get another bottle afterall.

Overall: 8.4/10

Brenda Straznicky

I saw a gift set with this fragrance and four others in it for $85.00 at Ross this week.

Bgm_1923

Very warm and spicy scent, sour red pomegranate, dry wine, nutmeg, cinnamon, cardamom and turmeric. The aroma contains the juiciness of pomegranate and fresh oriental spices. Very interesting, delicate and complicated scent.

mauvealert

The nicest thing I can say about this is that it smells like a bowl of red, holiday-themed potpourri in the bathroom at a Christmas party. The cloves are very dominant, and the overall effect is a bit sour and almost medicinal (someone said it smells of camphor or Vicks, and I can see why). For anyone looking for a "bright red" fruity and rich holiday scent and disappointed in Pomegranate Noir, I recommend scouring the internet for a bottle of the sadly-discontinued Burberry Brit Red.

Lidell

I find this art piece the King/Queen of winter fruit scents.
Cloves on pomegranates are just so festive, lush, and bubbly, yet the nuanced bedding in Pomegranate Noir makes it feel like sipping on a premium dry champagne.
I just love how this scent lights and spices up even the greyest skies, while maintaining proper dignity.

Agnes81

I thought I would love this. But to my nose this just smells sour and like cheap mens cologne. So sad. But it does last - on my clothes I have smelled it for almost a week.

mapache

What a GEM.
Starts off kinda sour at first....then...the blend of notes begins on my skin....and....I get a fruity, peppery, aromatic bliss.
I felt all the notes at different intervals thru out the development. It became smooth....yet still retained that "tanginess".
Playful and serious at the same time.
This is my first Jo Malone purchase (I was skeptical) and I am very pleased. I will for sure be looking at testing out more of her fragrances.
The sillage/projection is more than I expected (from seeing Youtube reviews and reviews here on Fragrantica.)
On a side note, this does have vibes of Brooks Brothers Black Fleece but PN is fruitier. (not a dupe/clone)
A love !!!

YlangLover0912

This perfume is on my list of “my favorites”.
The aromatic composition is suitable for every moment of the day and seasons.

It is not strong and don’t last for hours, but it is perfect for giving a fresh, fruity and elegant feeling to the wearer.

The fruity notes are not girly at all, instead they provide a memory of an Italian restaurant with red and rose wines collection.

For me , this perfume can be used for a romantic dating or an special evening dinner with family, friends or with someone special.

I’ve been buying this twice , and maybe I will buy it again , it is essential , and I like to layered it with other perfumes from my personal collection.

For me, this perfume provides my allot of good , sweet and passionate memories.

I have to say , the pomegranate note in this perfume , is very juicy and natural , is like eating a fresh red pomegranate with a few drops of yellow lemon and a little bit of sparkling rose wine.

Few years ago I read that there’s watermelon , and yes it is there , but not to strong , but it provides a fruity cocktail flavor , so this perfume is not boring at all...according to the chemistry of your skin you will get different notes , feelings and memories.

So don’t worry if you applied too much, you will not be intrusive, but even that, give it a respect , and enjoy every drop of this classic, elegant and sophisticated perfume.

Maybe the bottle is very simple, but the juice of this perfume will give you a very pleasant feeling, so you will remember that sometimes is good to enjoy and develop other senses.

I think this is a must if you are going to buy for the first time in Jo Malone.

Coquita

I never thought I'd find a red fruits' perfume "noir", but here we are. You learn something new every day.
PN is sour, juicy, and VERY peppery, and it would be a delicious addition to any spice lover who wants to get something fruitier for mild weather or summer nights. I don't get much woods, but I must say that this lasted like 30' on my skin, and then it was gone. I very much enjoyed those 30', though. I'm thinking of trying it again because I can't believe this lasted so little on my skin even after the sales assistant sprayed it like four times on my wrist.

Wwoman

I'm not a huge Jo Malone fan as I've tested many of her fragrances and have yet to find one I'm wild about. However, this impressed me immediately. It's a very unique fragrance on me. I really get a lot of cedar, which I like, but there is still a slight acidic fruitiness even after dry down. But it's not at all sweet - which is awesome since I hate sweet. I think this is a interesting fragrance for fall or winter. I agree with other reviewers that the name is misleading - there is very little fresh, juicy pomegranate to be found here. Nevertheless I will happily wear what I have of this because it doesn't smell like generic duos of flowers/fruit/herbs that are the basis of most other fragrances in this brand.

E.H.Tersono

Initially the fruit and woods and spice are a lovely composition, opening like walking inside for a winter holiday gathering. But the dry down disappointed me, it became flat, boring, a bit dusty like an old fragranced candle that is meant to smell like a fireplace. Wearing this makes me want to smell it as a candle, but not wear it again.

HEAVY AND FRUITY

At first, the scent is almost off-putting. After 10 minutes juicy, not too sweet fruit is noticeable. After a few hours, you feel warm wood notes, the fragrance unfolds nicely on warm skin. For me, only on warm afternoons at the end of summer, when we are tired of the heat. Not the most feminine scent.

Long lasting
Unusual fragrance

I found a very cheap clone of Pomegranate Noir from Turkish perfumer L'Actone (apparently wholly unknown to Fragrantica) in a discount shop. I have tried this juice side by side with the JM original and the smell is virtually identical - fruity, spicy, tart, a bit syrupy, no more or less synthetic and roughly blended - a conversation starter for sure, but not sexy in the least, in my gender nonconforming male opinion. Happily, the clone seems to have solved Malone's longevity issue, as it opens louder and lasts about twice as long. The only remaining question is 'where does one wish to go smelling like a Christmas punch?' This very specific scent is worth keeping around to bring out solely for Holiday parties - the 50ml bottle will likely outlive me.

lavender_wind.

I don't quite get the low score on this beauty.

Pomegranate Noir is a sexy, women's fragrance. I smelled it in the store yesterday and was immediately taken. It will be my signature scent: it is rich, gourmand, unapologetically vibrant and spicey. I think it is for a woman of vibrant personality and a sensual taste ;)

Love love love!!!

cim68

its dark, mysterious.i wore it a few times, but one day, im wearing this to hang out with my mom and she be like what is this dead people smell? and i was like what? Goosebumps.

Its Kapur Barus. if you're in Malaysia and curious what this perfume smells like, this smells exactly like kapur barus :)

MrEleven1181

Wife bought this, didnt like it and tried to pass it onto me. I also didn’t like it and now use it on my dog 😂 its not terrible i just dont think it smells particularly like pomegranate, spicy cinnamon i get and I actually dont mind the scent just dont want to wear it is an fragrance. Performance was around 5 hours with moderate sillage

lnoskin

I would really like this on a man!!

anajapson

Smokey, juicy real pomegranate smell, very deep and beautiful. Unisex indeed. But longevity is a joke, like most of Jo Malone parfumes. So I stopped wearing it, because it’s simply doesn’t last more than couple hours.
I have it as a candle as well, it’s less sweet than parfum, nothing special.

JSpines

This has become my favourite fragrance by Jo Malone. I put off trying it for so long because I was scared I was going to hate it. I had read reviews on it months ago and they didn't shed the greatest light on it. When Autumn finally came around I decided it would be a good time to finally test it out. Let me first say that Jo Malone fragrances have really good lasting power on my skin and this one is no exception. Two sprays on my chest does me all day long and when it's time to go to bed, I can still smell it. The pomegranate, clove and wood is what stands out on my skin. It combines into something dark, mysterious and sexy with a slight edge to it. Love at first sniff! It just feels "special." I know this is considered unisex but to me this seems more masculine and better suited to a man. I will happily wear this throughout the long, cold, Canadian winter!

boxlunchvinny

It's sweet and spicy. It's pretty different compared to other Jo Malone's that lean on the lighter side. It does perform a bit better for me than most other JM scents, but does fade into more of a skin scent. I get about 5 hours.

It's not intense. It's fruity, musky, woodsy, and spicy. It's a bit bold, and doesn't appear to be overly feminine to me. Slightly more masculine to my nose.

It's comforting and kinda reminds me of autumn weather. Somehow the cloves and pomegranate give it a kind of fruity cider kind of vibe. It's a playful yet formal scent, that's not really cloying at all.

I'd wear it for dinner dates, intimate or casual night festivities, or even just to bed.

yerushalayim

nice but after 1 min it goes away. you should re-wear 10 times a day

Germany

I reviewed this years ago when I was on a Big JM kick ,it was one of the few Jo Malone’s that really stood out to be quite different from the other clean ,easy ones to wear ones. This one is quite potent and fruity with a strong clove note and Lots of patch. So yes a definite fruit /patchouli . The first while is strong and juicy fruity mix with spicy undertone. Defiantly a red perfume. I smell rose as well. Then it gets cleaner and cleaner as it dries down. It almost has a minty airy feel. The drydown is a delight. It lasts very long and I find it quite beautiful. Not many Malone’s are evening perfumes to me. This one I do wear out to dinner. But I also enjoy it in daytime.

As reference my 4 favourite JMs are *wood sage and sea salt ( which combines great with almost any JMs ) * earl grey and cucumber and * blackberry & bay.
* Nectarine blossom and honey

tayyabforyouth

This is a cloves and pink pepper bomb. The pomegranate is in the background, if there at all really. Not a fan to be honest.

Loved a diffuser of Pomegranate Noir in a bathroom in France. Came home and got a tester of the perfume and asked the hubby for an opinion. He says it's good for a shitter but doesn't make me want to take your clothes off. Well ok then. Guess I'm not buying it!

flowers-in-the-springtime

This perfume is not too bad for a JM. It is dark and sweet and the top notes are strong and pleasing. But like all JM scents, it quickly fades to a skin scent and then nothing. JM is such a poor perfume house. You are literally forced to buy into a lifestyle but the perfumes are weak and wishy. Come on JM, get your act together and create perfumes that actually last! These are not cheap and frankly, they are of cheap quality. Sorry, I know I will get a ton of thumbs down from the die hard JM fans but I have to say it like it is.

Lom

This perfume is one of the more interesting JM fragrances. It's very sour, like a cranberry juice, with clove and woods to balance it. It actually reminds me of Comme des Garcons Series 3 Incense: Jaisalmer, and I sense cinnamon. All together it feels rather clean, and sophisticated. It has this common JM aspect which I don't like, a kind of strong freshness note which is overbearing. But all in all this is unique and well made.

elledeelee

I received a 9ml bottle of this as a gift, but it's really not my style. I find it a bit masculine and frumpy. Weirdly, I strongly associate this perfume with specific days of the week and could only ever wear this on a Monday or Tuesday. The medicinal quality of the clove reads very cold and minty on me, which I'm not a fan of. Just not for me.

LoreleiL

Patchouli, pomegranate, a masterpiece?!!...I couldn't smell anything but clove- monotonous and cheap. it seems to me even the spice in the kitchen would have more pleasant aroma. They've probably forgotten to put even the hint of pomegranate into my bottle. I've got rid of it eventually and couldn't feel any happier.

Ellej32

Wow! This is a good winter one it’s lovely and I can smell it from a mile away. I feel anyone can wear this in cold weather, it’s quite indescribable my sister got me into this can be unisex as I have smelled it in men and women.. best cold freezing weather fragrance 1010

cdlacey1

I was really disappointed in this. Luckily I had a retirement party to attend and I gave this away. I don't normally give my friends $136 gifts but I could not incorporate this clove perfume into my wardrobe. I was expecting something lush and fruity, but instead I got only clove from this. Should be named Clove Noir.

cartimandua

Oh, Pomegranate Noir. I have a deep love of pomegranate fragrances, and the pomegranate/patchouli combination is my favourite of the Mugler Angel-inspired gourmands - there's something chthonic and satisfying about these notes when they're blended together. And Pomegranate Noir is a beautiful perfume - it's just that it lasts about 30 minutes before it begins to fade, and in 2 hours it's gone entirely.

But those 30 minutes... The combination of rhubarb and pomegranate give the top notes an almost sour freshness. Then the cloves hit, the most dominant note in the heart, with a beautiful patchouli and wood base that grounds the rest but never overwhelms. There's some florals in the background, mainly lily, and the pink pepper is mostly there to encourage the clove. Perfect for a cold morning or a glamorous night.

The Jo Malone colognes are designed to be layered, and Pomegranate Noir does play well with others. I have layered it with rose scents (Lush Rose Jam), vanilla (Outremer Vanille), its sibling gourmands (Mugler Angel, Viktor and Rolf Flowerbomb), and a few other Jo Malones (Wood Sage and Sea Salt, Nutmeg and Ginger). Pomegranate Noir will almost always become a tart spicy opening for any perfume you wear it with.

Jo Malone perfumes were born in the 1990's, when clean minimalism was the biggest trend in perfumery, and Pomegranate Noir is victim to the brand's terrible longevity. If only, if only it were an EDP! Even an EDT! If you love this scent as I do, you would be wise to buy it in candle or bath oil form - it's a better investment.

djgirl1976

I can't believe people enjoy this. It is so cloying and heavy and stomach turning to me. It seriously reminds me of spraying cheap fruity bathroom spray to cover up cigar smoke. It's a little smoother than that. Like that smokey smell has soaked into an old velvet couch and there's an cheap room air freshener(the kind that were in the plastic cones and made of a jelly substance that disappeared over time) and that little peppery spice that comes from the clove scented pine cones that are still sitting out in a bowl from Christmas several years ago and are now covered in dust.
But I guess if that's your thing...or you like really REALLY heavy scents.

Anteatereatingant

This is an interesting one!

In general, I'm not a Jo Malone perfume fan. I've smelled quite a few of them and always liked the scents,
but they tend to be too damn weak for my likes. I like my perfumes to actually project a little and last more than half an hour!

This is one of the few JMs that I really like. First of all, just like Wood Sage & Sea Salt, it smells nothing like what I imagined. It's also complex and multifaceted.

This is a noticeably peppery/spicy and zingy perfume.
It does have a succulent red berry undertone (I know it's pomegranate but to my nose it reads like red currant) and something sticky-sweet even further in the background. It also has a noticeable 'clean' streak in the first half an hour or so, like it's got a dash of 'traditional men's cologne' in it, that slowly dissipates and leaves a 'warm', clovey/peppery, sweet currant concoction.

Very different and stylish, and leaning more on the masculine side of unisex. Noticeably stronger and more long-lasting than most JMs. I really like it, but it's not quite 'love'.

Silkpuppet

I won't lie, the longevity of this (and all Jo Malone scents IMHO) is abysmal. I can barely squeeze 4 hours out of this baby. That said, Pomegranate Noir is decadent and juicy. I love it in all seasons and all times of day and night. The spice bouquet is beautiful and clove-heavy which prevents this from lurking into cloying Yankee Candle territory. Think of a crowd-pleasing Pinot Noir. I get lots of brightness from the rhubarb and pomegranate pearls, which don't smell synthetic. The smooth cedar base keeps the scent grounded and makes for a soothing drydown. This is the kind of fragrance that I love catching a whiff of on a scarf or sweater.

Ivyswirl

I think imagery can really transform a perfume, I'm sat with this on wondering why you'd choose to smell like a big sharp angry clove (I like cloves, they are one of my first scent memories at around 2-3)

A little reading and I find SnoopyQ describing it as a 'magical Lord of the rings forest' and quite 'piney'. I love both pine, forests and lord of the rings and it suddenly gives the scent so much more imagery and almost makes me see the notes afresh!

This has definitely given me a fresh perspective on it and started creating more of a bond, I tend to sell any I just can't bond with. I find bad reviews or criticism before you've really bonded with something definitely affects how you see it (you'll never forget that someone said it smells like fried chicken or burned hair) so I tend to skip those reviews if I've already bought it!

Not a bad fragrance but certainly polarising.

GRAF

Love at first sniff! Well, it might worth a fb if it had better longevity. Performance is moderate overall. Very natural smelling and well balanced also easy to wear, suitable for spring/summer. It's all about a mild spicy pomegranate on a soft woody base. Absolutely beautiful.

CobraCommander

Too linear... why not just buy clove oil for fraction of price?

Yes i do believe more perfumes should use cloves but this is just too one dimensional to be called a frag. Smells great though and the longevity and sillage are quite surprising.

vrckovic88

If you know Jo Malone stands, you know that is a lot of perfume to choose from. This one I notice right away. It's my first Jo Malone scent.
Usually, I don't like perfume that smells like food, the sweet ones, but this one is smelling like honey with pink pepper to me, a little bit woody. Spicy honey it is.
It's ideal for colder fall days. Easily can be worn by man and women. Currently my favorite.

snoopyQ

This is an interesting little number!
I predominently get a pine-y feel with a juicy fruit and really dirty ptchouli in the background!
At times I sense a ”tiger-balsam” scent ( post- workout-menthol muscle balm)

I am OBSESSED!... it is sort of ”magical Lord-of-the-Rings pine forrest”!

Ker2smell

Definitely do not use liberally. A dab will do. I mix it with JM Nectarine Blossom and Honey to counteract the sweetness. It is pretty damn nice smelling. Just remember to go easy, it is STRONG.

damienthoresson

Pomegranate Noir is a strong, complex cologne from a brand that usually presents rather basic (although beautiful) simplistic scents. They also usually tell a story of a landscapes. This one, oddly, doesn't do that and its one of their best! I don't even know what kind of story this could be telling. Perhaps one of a local market, where crushed cloves and exotic fruits are being sold? I get some fruit, but mostly cloves. I'm not complaining, it just reminds me of making chai tea.

I imagine the people who dislike this rather enjoy the scents like Peony & Blush Suede. Or they might, perhaps, enjoy layering it with Wood Sage & Sea Salt. It sort of evens it out and makes it a little less brash. Also brings out a bit of sweetness.

Franzi86B

This is my Favourite Jo Malone! Sooooooo sexy and different! Just a WOW

cedar_lea

Oh wow clove! I love clove. The opening is pure clove and a fruity note that smells the way that pomegranate juice tastes. If you sniff an actual pomegranate the scent is almost floral. This has none of that, just a dark bitter juice. I do get a hint of freshness and I can see how watermelon and lily of the valley are listed notes, but they are just accents.

But as others have said, pomegranate isn't the star of this show. This is primarily a spicy blend of pepper and Opoponax and clove (although after the opening that becomes less distinct) I see how some people say it feels masculine and I don't mind that at all. This isn't the spice that grandma wore, although I could definitely see it being popular with someone who likes spicy vintage scents. A nice middle ground.

CupK

Giving this one a second chance, Pomegranate Noir was my first experience with Jo Malone.
I had a sample and I liked it but not that much to spend my money on a bottle because for a cologne I think they are a little exspensive.

But last week I found a 30 ml bottle, barely used on a flea market for only 10 Euros! Score.

I think it is quite unique, a little medicinal but also nice woodsy and fruity.

Edit: the dry down is my favorite part and for a cologne I must say it projected very long.

Madrona

The pink pepper ruins any chance of me ever being able to wear this personally, but when I smell it, I see a variety of men that I can very well imagine wearing this. Goths, rockstars, vampires, you know, eyeliner, tousled ponytail, a nipple piercing glistening under a maroon velvet coat.

I'll be in my bunk.

perfumeaddiction

Donna Karan Chaos has returned!!!

Very unisex but definitely I don't feel manly wearing it. Very spice/clove based. Reminds me totally of Donna Karan Chaos. I need to get my old bottle of Chaos out and test side by side. A nice fragrance for the cooler months. Not quite fitting for summer IMHO. I totally love it and if you are sad that Chaos is gone give this one a whirl.

cufberte.daniem

I was very surprised to find that I genuinely love this. Over the year that I've had it and come to know it, I'd truly admit to it being one of my favourite spice driven scents in my collection. It's well rounded, a little strange in a quirky way, juicy and just plan elegant. I get the hate, but my skin just makes this blossom and sing to the heavens. The cloves & cedar make this ever so long lasting and I couldnt be more pleased - I like my scents to last. This has been on my skin for 15 hours and it's still projecting up my body to my nose. The fruitiness is gone, but I'm gonna be real and say that the pomegranate wasn't what commanded my attention from the get-go. It was the warmth, the 'noir'. I guess I'm attracted to the darkness and this delivers it.

However, I will say, as Germany pointed out, there is an iron accord and that just draws me in even more. Love!

Dogerinonose

I was lucky enough to be given a sample of JM Pomegranate Noir and I have to be honest I was completely repulsed by the smell of it. It reminded me of a herbal store I always go to to buy some herbal medicine, tea and some spices. I was disappionted even but after an hour or so the scent settled and it gave off a powdery, sweet but subtle scent which I really liked.

MulawinLacsa

I did not like it the first few times I wore it. Now I feel addicted to smelling its sweet scent. It's true that it smells like raisins.

aniktwo

I sampled this and thought it was nice at first - a spicy fruity mix but it quickly turned into an overpowering clove mess. I was still smelling it hours later, so at least its long lasting.

I didn't realize how expensive Jo Malone fragrances were until I looked up how much this would cost as a candle, because it has a scent that's poor for a body but would be nice in a room. I was HORRIFIED to see the cost of candles which ranged from $80 - $560CDN? This is MAYBE a $20 candle smell, a $30 perfume. I am shocked SHOCKED

You could do just as well with a Yankee Candle Christmas scent.

At a lower price point I still wouldn't buy it but sheesh - I do not recommend buying this without trying it because it does seem to be divisive.

iamoir

Woohoo! Did not expect such a perfume from Jo Malone. Generally I'm positive to her solifloral perfumes but haven't felt the need to wear anyone yet. Pomegranate Noir is not one of the soliflorals for sure and from the little research that I've done there are couple more colognes that resemble complex perfumes. As for Pomegranate Noir, it seems a valid option for autumn or late summer.

For starters: this is not as fruity as it states, nor as sweet as it's advertised, neither as juicy as the notes present you. In fact, forget all its presentation and just keep the "Noir"; yes forget even the Pomegranate. If you want sweet juicy pomegranate go for Miss Dior Absolutely Blooming.

Pomegranate Noir is a woody-spicy combination between cloves and patchouli and various vague herbs here and there and some cinammon too (not the sweet variety though). It's dry and perfumey. It's patchouli dressed up as cloves and vice versa; these two notes are too damn well blended, they smell like one special note.

Smells vintage clearly, even masculine, but that is it's beauty. Smells medicinal, it intensely reminds me of my grandma's medicine cabinet(she was a doctor), and I love that scent. I miss that scent. You have to like medicinal perfumes in order to love Pomegranate Noir. Bitter, perfumey, acidic. Mentholic, like the cream for pain muscle relief, like Poison even.

More clove and more patchouli. It is truly special. I just wonder how it's not discontinued yet. These types of perfumes are not favored at all in the sugar-burnt-vanilla-cookie-fruity-girly era.

Nasty, cloying, potpourri scented rubbish. A few friends have this & it wears all of them, it's topnote never settles & has no depth or warmth. It actually make me feel nauseous if I'm around it too long. It's the modern day Grey Flannel on a man & Dior's Poison on a woman. Both of these are infinitely more sophisticated though. This isn't for me.

Love Pomegranate Noir! It has the perfect balance between sweet and bitter (although that sounds bad). The sharper notes really balance out the sweeter notes making it an easy to wear perfume. I can wear this any time of day, any time of year. It is a versatile scent that can get you through anything. Ithe longevity is amazing in my opinion. Itmlasts all day without the need to reapply, but if you don’t shower you will still smell it the next morning in your skin. I love layering this scent with other Ko Malone fragrances, but specifically Basil & Neroli. On me, the two create a perfect comninarion that I wish came in one bottle. Great perfume if you like sweet fragrances with a little something added in.

ashypie2004

How do I love thee? Let me count the ways. The opening of Pomegranate Noir is full on clove, so strong it's almost fecal. I can understand this turning a lot of people off. But within 15 minutes that gives way to the most wintery, cosy, warming scent imaginable. It's like curling up in front of the fireplace burning pine or cedar and cupping a hot mulled wine full of spices under your nose while wrapped up in a thick quilt with your woolly socks on. Smokey, juicy, woody, spicy. Basically my ideal wintery evening. I love this stuff.

Bubbly Fizz

I hate this cologne. It smells like prunes. raisins which I hate. Yuck!

bbrito

The first Jo Malone I owned and loved. Recommended.

cherelune

I just received a mini of this about an hour ago, an extremely affordable blind buy, considering the prices of Jo Malone, and while I need to really wear this before really deciding how I feel about it, I just wanted to share my first impressions, because the initial blast of clove in this nearly killed me. LOL.

In spite of reading the reviews and seeing cloves at the top of the main notes, I was overwhelmed by the opening of a single spray to my hand. To me, it was an explosion of cloves, which I had just come to terms with in Chanel Coco. In Pomegranate Noir, it felt so strong and raw to my nose, and aside from being intensely spicy, the opening was also very woody, like I had a fresh piece of wood pressed right at my nose. I didn't smell any fruit at all. I felt a little dismayed. It seemed impossible for me to like. But after experiencing the way fragrances evolve, I'll give anything a chance before chucking it out.

By now, the fragrance has toned down considerably. The insane blast of cloves has mellowed down, giving way to a tart fruitiness, although I could still detect the smoky spice in the background. I'm not sure what fruits I smell. I'm not familiar with pomegranate, so I don't know if it is that. I think I do pick out some rhubarb. It is much better for me at this point.

Pomegranate Noir does smell seasonal, although the notes in this are not typical of the holidays in my country. They are not typical in my country at all, and I wonder if that's the reason the person I got this from was selling it at such a low price. I think it might not be well-received here. But I do want to give this more tries, and a proper wearing before the summer arrives in full heat about a month or so from now. I'm also feeling under the weather right now, with a dry cough, so it may be affecting the way I feel about this scent. (Even my scent of the day, Jessica Simpson's Fancy, which usually delights me, feels almost too cloying right now.) I'm keeping my fingers crossed that it will turn out to be much better experience next time.

Chrysolaga

I'm not a fan of this one at all, and this surprises me because I generally tend to love woody type fragrances, such as the English Oak and Hazelnut. I have the Pomegranate Noir oil and the cologne, and the oil definitely lasts as a skin scent for a very long time. I ended up giving the Pomegranate Noir oil to my husband as it feels very masculine to me.

TopDonna321

Love this, mainly because my Mum wears it a lot so it reminds me of her. I like that it's a fruity scent at heart but doesn't turn into a grenadine cocktail like a lot of the other fruity scents around today do. It's got layers to it and smells very inviting. Def a good festive frag.

xabaras

A very interesting scent. It starts very strong and powerful. Very dark and smoky, the cloves, I assume, immediately suggesting to the mind special events like an elegant dinner or an evening at the opera.
It tones down a little after about half an hour reminding me of sweet incense. Its boldness all gone, now a much more round fragrance. Very elegant. Not for everyday wear.

witchinghour

received as a gift a year or two ago. I do genuinely like it! however, it's not a scent i go to frequently, in part bc it feels so season-specific and in part bc the first notes are not my favorite.

i can sense that on someone else's skin chemistry the notes might hang together slightly better-- on my skin the initial acid from the pomegranate and the peppery cloves are both very loud. the pomegranate feels more like pom juice than the fresh fruit, cloying and with a very sour aftertaste. the resulting effect at first spray is a little too much like my aunt's holiday bathroom potpourri basket for my liking. (..don't tell the gift-giver I said this.)

the drydown, however, is excellent. once the sourness calms down into a background note, the floral, woody, musky subtler notes come forward and are very harmonious. warming on an overcast winter day.

Floffles

I didn't hate this. I liked the sweet side for me. But the rest was just soooooo masculine that I just couldn't. Reminded me of a holiday plugin that I got when I was pregnant that was cranberry, but would often smell like strong men's cologne lingering in the air, and it would make me ill. This scent didn't make me sick, but it brought me back to that. Lucky someone who gets a freebee from me :)

ruinedelegance

I purchased this perfume and ended up returning it because the projection was nonexistent. Ever since I returned it though I constantly found myself thinking of and missing it. Sephora had a sale so I decided to pick it up again with the matching body cream. The cream does help amplify the scent, but I feel like I might just be smelling the cream more than the perfume. Either way I adore this scent and though it is definitely overpriced for it's performance, I'll still most likely end up repurchasing both products once I finish them.

Amo!!

A different perfume, it starts from one form and ends from another. When you sprinkle, it looks like a masculine scent, then it transforms, showing off your beautiful sensual and strong side of a personality woman. When I tried it the first time, I wanted to give it back, but then when it changed I thought, I need to keep it. The part that I like the most is the clove, I love this clove that he has. I do not recommend buying without experimenting (as I did) but anyone who has patience and sensitivity will understand how good he is! I do not use it for work because it scares people a little, but I use them at home or for walks. Master!!

cocolover56

Pomegranate Noir is a spicy fruity heaven. I think this may have been the first Jo Malone I've tried and for some reason I've not purchased it yet. This weekend I intend to buy this and English Oak & Red Currant. Both are the only scents I'd purchase from this brand, just because they're so different from quite a lot of scents. They're light but boy are they beautiful.

BellaX

I tried this in the JM shop several times and always dismissed it as being all pepper and clove and just not for me. Recently I was given a sample with another purchase and when told that this was the only sample they had I thought I would rather have had something else but ok, I'll give it a try. I'm glad I did. It makes a lot of sense to try something at home where you can really take it in rather than in a busy shop. I understand why this is one of their best sellers. Dark, warm and spicy with some tartness. The clove is strong and harsh at first and then it softens. It's not a fresh fruit but more of a cooked or pickled... It reminds me of the filling in a mince pie, what here in the uk is called a mincemeat (nothing to do with meat, just fruit and spices).
Pomegranate Noir is sensual, elegant and comforting, I'm so glad I was given this as a sample.

enipalellm

Intense, rich, seductive, somewhat juicy/fruity, warm and spicy yet clean and very pure at the last moment. When my nose first smelt this gorgeous scent, it wasn't a cologne but a diffuser at a loo in an auction house. I quickly fell in love, went to Selfridges and bought it. At first, I was hugely disappointed. It just smelt different from the diffuser, I found it way too heavy and rather masculine. Additionally, it somehow hurt my nose and throat. But then, about 10 minutes later, it softened and showed me its feminine side. I was like, "oh, I think I can love you eventually... maybe." Another 10 minutes later, it transformed into a highly sophisticated but playful woman. It was like old fairy tales, folklores or classic films; an ugly duckling turning into a magnificent swan, the frog prince, my fair lady... it was beautiful. For a Jo Malone cologne, Pomegranate Noir has solid longevity on my skin. I love to spray it on my wrist. By doing so, I can smell it anytime I want to. I don't really like it when it's still wet but am madly in love with the very last note. It comforts me a lot, makes me feel so secure and protected. It's such a shame I don't have enough vocabulary to describe it.

Dexterman777

Smells awfully similar to Burberry London but with less of, and more wet smelling tobacco leaves. It also doesnt have the sillage of London, whose performance isnt completely fantastic in the first place.

A cozy, unique enough cooler climate scent. Unisex. But if you're a male, just go for Burberry London, which is much easier on the hip-pocket also.

ruinedelegance

I love this perfume. I can't put into words what it smells like because to me it's just the comfort I feel in fall. Unfortunately though this has decent longevity, the sillage does not work for me. With two sprays on my wrist within half an hour I can't smell it unless my my wrist is inches from my face. I doused my chest, neck, elbows, and wrists and I was able to smell it better of course, but for the price that's unreasonable to do. I own Wood Sage & Sea Salt from Jo Malone and it has great sillage but poor longevity. I don't feel confident buying any other Jo Malone perfumes, but I will definitely be purchasing the Pomegranate Noir scent surround diffuser. Fingers crossed it's worth the high price tag. I hate to return this because Pomegranate Noir would have easily been in my top three perfumes if it had better projection, but it's not worth keeping if I can't properly enjoy it.

Melanthe

Very, very nice! A strong like for me on first wearing, that I suspect will develop into love over time. It's a definite yes and has gone on my list of the perfumes I want in my collection.

I get a lot of pomegranate and juicy plum, with a nice sharp cedar edge that pleases me. At times, it smells like jam, which I find (strangely) appealing. One for crisp autumn days, I think. Then again, I'd be happy to smell like this anytime of year.

As another fragrantican suggested, it's fabulous layered with Dark Amber & Ginger Lily! However, I think it would layer well with any dark amber or tobacco and I look forward to trying that over time.

Wearing this I feel confident, sexy and classy. Very comfortable with the sillage, too. It's hovering around me and I don't have to go sniffing to find it, but it's not smacking me upside the head. One spray on neck and one on each wrist seems just right.

I'll update later with longevity.

Update: Longevity wasn't tremendous on me, around 3 hours. But there aren't many perfumes that last a long time on me anyway. I still feel strongly enough about this that I will buy a full bottle..

sdowniehummer

I received this as a gift from a French friend who came to visit and was wearing it. I'd never encountered anything like it--exotic, compelling, a little weird. I couldn't stop smelling my friend's arm and had to know what it was! Honestly, I've never been so strongly attracted to a scent. When I finished my first bottle, I replaced it right away.

On application, PN initially smells on me like a slightly metallic resin, but it very quickly dries down to a complex and warm scent--woody, peppery, and slightly floral. It's definitely not the longest-lasting fragrance; then again, it isn't parfume or even EDP. During the day in the warmer months, it goes on strong and then disappears quickly, so I prefer to save PN for cooler temps or summer nights when I want something really sexy.

This is one fragrance that I will always have in my wardrobe!

B!tchBrisket

Very strong and very long lasting but a little headache inducing for me. A bit too cloying

MsMixtape

All I smell is cloves and some light aromatic, maybe the cedar. No pomegranate at all. It's really nice though.

Edemay

Cedar, cedar, cedar and more cedar.
Mixed with the sour fruit and hint of spice it smells like freshly stained timber floors.
Very realistic actually
But its not what i was after and i found this quite masculine over all.
Gave my samples to my boyfriend and he enjoyed them more.

fyrewoman

A strong one from Jo Malone. Big dark plums and some juicy red berries. Loud with dark incense, resins, amber, patch and clove. My favorite part of this cologne is the intense clove but it's not my kind of fragrance overall. I'm glad i got a mini.

joe70062

I received a box set of five Jo Malone mini sprays. This was one of them. I must say it reminds me of Comme des Garcons Jaisalmer. Definitely incense with cinnamon. The cedar is comforting and cosy. A dressy night out. It's quite lovely. I'm happy it was included in the set. Samples are available out there, so I suggest a try before buy.

Edit: this grew on me so much that I purchased a full size bottle.

mendwillie

This pleases me a lot, the beginning is strong and heavy on the clove, it soon gives space for the cedar to balance this mixture along with the rhubarb that I simply love. It is a fragrance in my opinion appropriate for both day and night, I am falling in love. Performance is good.

I evaluate this:
Smell: 8/10
Projection: 7.5/10
Longevity: 7.5/10

ElleNell

To me when I smell this it reminds me of velvety red/purple JUICY PLUMS.
Most def unisex but I feel it's more popular amongst women. Kind of has a warm leather feel.
It reminds me of winter. Usually i feel u can wear any perfume any time. But this one is more suited to the colder months. Reminds me of xmas.
Has a fresh pleasant feel also.
Perfect xmas day scent.

Ezio10

Pomegranate Noir layered with Dark Amber&Ginger Lily is an outrageous combo. Try it out!

rakan1985

scent : 5/10
sillage : 8/10
longevity :8/10
60% night / 40% day fragrance
smoky and woody scent

dante11

this is definitely one of the top 3 of jo malone scents,IMO-i was worrried at first that the cedar would overwhelm-but no-i just get a whiff of it and cloves faintly around the edges-beautiful. it is sexy.....who would have ever thought a pomegrante as sexy?
this is beautifully done-several of the jo malones leave me with the desire to laer it, or 'add' something....but not this-why would you add to what is obviously a beautiful blending of scents?

Dean ja

I'm a guy and I love this fragrance on me during the winter months!

Lemon Lime

Pomegranate Noir offers a sort of tangy opening with plenty of peppery and fruity notes which I personally find impossible to distinguish. Especially the pomegranate which, as far as I know, has no particular odour. PN smells more like a (synthetic) fruit pulp to me, whose sweetness is nicely counterbalanced by plenty of pepper soon to be joined by a dry light smoky sensation backed by woody and earthy notes. This transition to a more "spicy - incensy" phase is what makes (imho) this perfume also wearable by a man.

Overall a nice and inventive scent with acceptable performance (considering its a Jo Malone), that impressed me a lot when I first tried it, but my initial excitement, unfortunately, diminished after several wearings.

Nicely done but . . . . forgettable.

6/10

shushkin

This is dark, fruity and luscious. Its one of the most masculine fragrances I own but I can carry it off well. It has just the right amount of fruity/tartness but its the clove, cedar and resins who dominate in the end. There is just the right amount of oud to compliment the rhubarb and sweet pomegranate. Its not oppressive but you know its there. Its not very sweet but is perfectly unisex and balanced with the other notes. Very good longevity and the sillage is above average. One of the few Jo Malone fragrances to have decent longevity and sillage

Perfectashka

Dark perfume, it will stay the longest from all Jo Malone, including Cologne Intense despite the fact this is not intense. Jo knew how to make perfumes! :) I had a bottle but gave it to a friend of mine who was visiting. At the time I thought I'd replace it but actually never repurchased this again. I guess my love towards this just vanished. Always can tell when someone else is using it, very distinctive.

AshLeigh512

I love Jo Malone fragrances and got this as a sample since I'm trying to figure out my next purchase. This was a complete miss for me. The top notes smell like bubble gum and are way too sweet. This fades fairly quickly and the base notes make their appearance. This smells so strongly of cedar, the scent immediately makes me think of Christmas time. I like lighter, sweet and clean scents and this fragrance is a total no for me.

kbrown7070

What a gorgeous scent for the autumn and winter months! The luscious sweetness of deep red fruits is balanced by rich woods and warm spices; amber and patchouli deepen the fragrance even further. It makes me think of velvety dark roses, fruit and incense. I am a huge Chanel Coco fan and this scent gives off a similar heady, spicy vibe. And it lasts for hours, even overnight, on me. I love it.

Gwenz

Ohh, I love this, can't stop sniffing my wrist and back of my hand. Sensual dark fruits, cloves and cedar predominate, with the lighter fruity notes disappearing rather quickly. Lush, spicy and woody, goodness all round.
I can certainly see this as being useful for layering if you found it too strong, but I love it just as it is.

cristina_mtereko

It is beautiful perfume , but unfortunately it doesn't last !
This is my first and last Jo Malone perfume , i will not be buying from her again, as i do not like perfumes that has no sillage

Fallstar

My bottle of Pomegranate Noir came in a gift set of innocuous miniatures – Orange Blossom, Grapefruit and Amber and Lavender. It certainly stands out amongst the squeaky clean fruit and flowers scents I associate with Jo Malone.

The opening is like spiced blackcurrant wine – dark red, sweet-sharp, fermented fruit warmed with a clove and pinch of allspice. There are other red fruits there too, including the titular pomegranate and perhaps plum.

The fruit fades into the background over time, though never disappears completely, as rose and spices and wood emerge more fully. There is a phase I don’t much like where clove is shrilly prominent, but it settles into a lovely woody musk with a hint of green (which the notes above identify for me as patchouli, though in this context I didn’t recognise it).

There is something rich, dark and a little animalic about Pomegranate Noir, from the musk and spice. Perhaps this explains its popularity – a wearable scent with a daring edge.

sahd0w

Very complex scent. The sillage is quite short, but when I catch a whiff of it on myself it perks me up. I don't know if I love it or not yet. It's pretty strong, so I wouldn't wear it all the time.

polly golightly

ccromer

Not an initial favorite. the more I wear it, the more I appreciate it. It's one of the more complimented JM scents I've worn. The body creme is nice also. Smells just like the cologne but slightly creamier/smoother.

SauvageHound

Pomegranate Noir is somewhat reminiscent of d'Orsay's Le Dandy, though without its prominent boozy notes. PN opens with a rapid succession of fruits: rhubarb, raspberry, plum, and pomegranate. A flinty peppery note follows, with floral overtones finally darkening the fruit with hints of rose and clove. It is rich, warm, more complex than it at first seems, and surprisingly different. A winner.

Krysanthemum

Purchased a large bottle at Nordstrom several years ago. Wore it a few times then put it away after deciding it just missed the mark for me. I am a devoted fan of spicy orientals and was eager for PN to dry down to the divine base notes of cedar, patchouli, musk and amber. Couldn't quite get past the fruity notes, tho. Fast forward to now and I'm desperate to find a scent that won't disappear on my skin after a few hours. And there was PN, sitting quietly at the back of the perfume shelf in my closet. This time, I layered it over Elizabeth & James' Nirvana Black (roller ball) and voila! I could smell it hours later and it's lovely. The initial sharpness settled into a warm sexiness that stayed close but I could definitely smell it. Next layering adventure will be PN over Aerin Lauder's Amber Musk roller ball.

chanelnumerocinq

Smells like pine needle with an undercurrent of strange melon-like aquatic sweetness at first. In less than twenty minutes becomes very close the skin in projection. The next phase is only slightly fruity, amber detected, and still with a predominant pine-like woods and needles note. It’s final phase, which really takes less than an hour of wearing to reach, is mostly fruity but you really have to place nose right on top of skin to experience. Overall, the fragrance is bitter, unusual, and light. Jo Malone advertises Pomegranate Noir as unisex, while I agree, I feel it is more on the masculine side. Personally, I think it’s development and lasting power is much too brief, and projection too light. I tested whether it was better on clothes rather than skin, and yes it stronger there but I sense a watermelon note which becomes obnoxiously overbearingly sickly sweet. If you have tested this fragrance before, and feel that it is also too light for you, I recommend Enchanted Forest by The Vagabond Prince. Without the watermelon note, but it is similar. Enchanted Forest is complex, interesting, and stronger.

Crystals On My Converse

I got a sample of this when I got another 30ml cologne, I would say I smell cloves straight off the bat wit this one but the dry down was more spicy and warm with a hint of woodiness. I do like this one but it isn't my favourite Jo Malone. I would say this is most definitely a unisex fragrance!

DtMeatball

Not fruity like you would expect from a teenager-ish perfume, but dark and rich, like pomegranate molasses rather then the fresh sort. Woody notes from the clove, not overpowering but definitely the boss of this fragrance - once the slightly sweet top not dissipates you're left with a warm clove scent on the skin.

Oudy

Hmmmm..let me list the notes that I detect in no particular order...their is certainly cloves right out of the gate...then their is cloves. And then the lovely subtle dry down of....you guessed it...cloves!...

Ok ok I know there is more to this lovely perfume, but to me it's mostly shades of clove. I get a little fruity sweetness here and there, and in the dry down cedar and amber make a warm appearance, but to my untrained nose those other notes are merely small passengers on the clove express...still, it's a beautiful trip.

Scent 8/10...if you love the smell of cloves (I do) then this is your perfume
Projection..8/10...strong for a jo Malone perfume...
Fortitude 6/10...strong for awhile, then dies off all of a sudden...

A really good and interesting offering from a " house" that excels in interesting scents. This one runs close to the front of the pack in my opinion

burgundyangel

I have developed a love for intense, smokey, incense fragrance. This baby is a straight up night time sexy scent with sweet pomegranate peeking thru. Got the 5 Jo Malone miniature as a gift from my beloved sis, bought a full size of this soon after.

nero77

Complex, sweet, addictive...

This is such a deep and complex one. It's polarising too, as not everyone will like this I think. I personally received a bad compliment from it, but I don't really care, I like it too much!

The overwhelming notes here are cloves and fruits, mainly plum and pomegranate. I would describe this as a "dry" fragrance. It's not juicy fruit you are dealing with but dried berries. Like the smell of goji berries, if you have ever tried them. The smell reminds me of that.

So I get berries and dark fruits, mixed with incense and clove smoke. Like the smell of menthol or clove cigarettes actually. It is very mysterious. I like it.

I wouldn't recommend wearing it in any high heat, as it's very medicinal in some aspects and can come across as a little harsh and/or "weird". But again, I believe that every fragrance has a time and a place so... I will continue to wear it.

To me this is a love or hate. I love it, but try before you buy. This has a very "unique" smell so if you are looking for a smell which no one else will have, go for this. I would also say that pomegranate is a note I rarely see used in perfumery, and for Jo Malone to pair it up with cloves and incense offers a delicious, interesting twist on it all. I really like it, and the longevity is so good, at least six or seven hours. For an eau de cologne concentration (supposedly) this is quite a feat. Try it if you are looking for something different.

cologneblanche

Try this with the Amber & Patchouli Cologne intense combination. It was recommended as a pairing, and wow, it's even more sensual and seductive! Just brings out all the right notes. It's a seriously sexy scent.

Whit

After being initially dismissive of this, I decided to try what was left of my sample again since it hasn't been as hot and humid. What a difference the humidity makes! I get more of the cloves, patchouli and woods. This is much better suited for low humidity, cooler weather, IMO. It gives the other spicy notes a chance to shine through. It does verge on the more masculine side, but I think women who prefer the more masculine scents will like this.

The pomegranate is slightly sweet at the start, but not overly so. Then the spices come into play. I mostly get the cloves, which give off an incense vibe and the woods. The patch is woven through the base and perfectly blended with the other notes. Very warm, sexy and cozy all at the same time. Thanks Jo Malone, I dig it!

missk

It seems like every time I test Jo Malone's Pomegranate Noir the scent changes. The first time I tried it, (possibly six months ago), it was quite juicy and heavy, now revisiting it the juiciness is no longer there and has been replaced by smoky woods, spice and a touch of sweetness.

I love Pomegranate Noir despite all the confusion. It's complex, sensual and luxurious all rolled into one. I would go so far to say that it's one of the best Jo Malone colognes, surpassing all others in both scent, projection and longevity.

I'm hankering for Jo Malone to make this fragrance an eau de parfum. Colognes annoy me and I don't see the point in them, especially seeing that you're paying so much as it is to own a 30ml bottle. This fragrance in a higher concentration would be perfection.

Pomegranate Noir can be worn by men and women alike. On my skin this fragrance opens with sour, rich pomegranate, sugary watermelon, fizzy pink pepper and a touch of smoky, spicy cloves. Further into the development the musk appears along with a heavy dose of Virginian cedar and earthy patchouli.

For a full-bodied pomegranate fragrance without a sugary and/or synthetic edge I definitely recommend Pomegranate Noir. Despite being cologne strength, on my skin this fragrance has moderate projection and around six hours lasting power.

Allen-at-home

WildDove: Yes, I knew I couldn't be the ONLY one who noticed a bit of Spicebomb in this. The drydown of Pomegranate Noir does remind me of Spicebomb.
