Wow! for Women by Joop! is a Chypre Floral fragrance for women. Wow! for Women was launched in 2018. The nose behind this fragrance is Fabrice Pellegrin. Top notes are Rose, Raspberry and Rhubarb; middle notes are Red Rose and Peony; base notes are Patchouli, Cetalox and White Musk.

In the summer of 2018 Joop! Launches the female version of Wow fragrance! from 2017. Wow! for Women retains the "sophisticated DNA" of the original, while introducing "chic and refined" notes of a new, feminine composition.
Perfumer Fabrice Pellegrin had the task to create a "distinctive, unexpected and bold fragrance".

Top notes: Wild raspberry, Rose infusion
Heart: Red rose absolute, Peony
Base: White musk, Patchouli, Cetalox

Wow! is made with a femme fatale woman in mind; some of her attributes are listed as enchanting, seductive and alluring, with self-confidence and liberation of spirit, according to Joop’s new press release and the new campaign featuring actress and model Mill Jovovich, who earned her badass image in the movies like Resident Evil. The video campaign also featuring a white panther is shot by French director Olivier Dahan and the photographer is Vincent Peters.

Joop! Wow! for Women comes in a bottle of identical shape as the masculine edition, colored in deep burgundy, as a 40, 60 and 100 ml Eau de Toilette, a 250 ml Shower Gel and a 200 ml Whipped Body Cream.

i lovelovelovelovelove this perfume so much! my neighour gifted it to me and it ran out in just a month! i got my refill as a christmas present and it's still an all time favourite. don't let the rose and raspberry fool you, this is certainly not a sweet and sugary fragrance. it's woody, spicy with 'sweet' hints of a nice jammy rose. it's very spicy and warm. could be masculine or feminine if im being honest! it's a flawless autumn scent with good longevity and decent projection

mirisfrik

This is not clone a of Gucci Guilty Absolu. I have them both, it’s even not simmilar fragrant category.
Guilty absolu is peppery-chypre, where Wow is completely rose-peony. On My skin, it’s 1:1 clone with JHAG Miss Charming. Performance is excelent - after 6 hours od wear and some work in the kitchen, it’s still there, and i can smell it every time i move.
I thought of selling it since i’ve got too Many perfumes, but honestly, it performs better than JHAG. This hidden gem stays at home

aldinatic

Similar to Moonlight Patchouli from Van Cleef

xowiktoria

Beautiful, vibrant fragrance. Dark, red juicy rose that gives off that feeling like you could just squeeze it and feel the thick, sweet juice dripping down your hand lol
Definitely for a strong, independent woman (or at least will make you feel like one ;))
This is my vibe. So, I was too disappointed when I saw it was discontinued. If you were too, I'll share my dupe with you. I'm seeing this perfume is now compared the most to Guilty Absolute Pour Femme by Gucci. I have both and would not totally agree. Better option - in my opinion - is Velvet & Oud by Jenny Glow, not listed here on Fragrantica. She is mostly making Jo Malone dupes, which I know is off putting for some people (given the extreme similarity in smell and bottle designs), but this time I couldn't care less. Jenny Glow has some high quality and cheap fragrances. The one mentioned before is the closest to Joop! Wow! For Her. It has the same tangy, dark rose vibe and it's not too woody like Guilty Absolute is. The only thing different is that there is no noticeable patchouli note. So if you miss Wow!, you might wanna look for Velvet & Oud.

Rose with a tangy dark raspberry sweetness

Gyps

I like this a lot and it’s something I will wear. Luckily I like patchouli, as that’s all I can smell on my skin. I can’t smell any rose, berries or rhubarb at all.

jajakapitan

A gorgeous, sophisticated scent suited to a bold woman who knows what she wants. Gutted to have learnt that this has been discontinued. Shame as it performs well and in my opinion is a good and affordable contender to some of the Tom Ford perfumes.

Fashionplatefanny

This is a big disappointment!! Blind buy, wish I could return it.

It’s a bowl of dusty potpourri that had previously been soaked in balsamic vinegar. It’s the pungent smell of an old red wine stain in the carpet.
I was hoping for freshness from the rhubarb and sweetness from the raspberry, maybe an airyness from the peony. It’s just smells of fermenting fruit. It’s very lacking and for me it’s a stuffy smell. Might be ok for a very mature business woman. You know the kind who enjoy being the scary, unapproachable kind. This is a cold, pungent and smells like a funeral home. It lacks warmth & depth, it’s not like a fine liquor. It’s a bottle of cheap cheap red wine.
Sorry but not sorry to those who like it but to me it’s the pitts. Overpowering, overwhelming vile migraine in a bottle.
If it has to be worn I’d say in the middle of winter only.

This is a fantastic Rose. It really does smell of red roses.
Great projection.
Reminds me of the rose used in ELDO Spice Must Flow, but this one isn’t spicy. They both have the dusty red rose feel, although they’re both very different interpretations of the same rose.
Great projection. All round brilliant Rose scent.

Bought this by mistake thinking it was "pour homme", and I'm glad I did. The "male" version is solid, safe and to be honest, boring.
This, on the other hand, is bold, luscious, softly sour, dark, rosy, chocolatey and beautiful.
It's also great layered with archetypal "male" fragrances. The effect is a bit like a big hairy guy sneaking home and trying on a fancy negligee...
Nothing wrong with that, and there's certainly nothing wrong with enjoying gorgeous perfume, regardless of whichever gender it's aimed at.

kittymoon

Nice tarte dark berry woody scent. Quite powerful, sexy. Best dupe if you're in the UK: Enchantment by next 😊

Purchased this as a blind buy because a friend had recommended it. Full well knowing that the patchouli in this could very well, be a deal breaker and unfortunately it was.

It overpowered and overwhelmed me and the other notes, and it did not die down and fade into the background like I hoped. Instead remaining a harsh, bitter, and horribly medicinal, kind of patchouli; like in Chanels Coco Mademoiselle, and it set off a banging migrane.

Is this type of patchouli natural or is it synthetic? As boy do I have to tread carefully with it. Which is a shame as I adored the Rose 🌹 note it this but sadly this fragrance doesn't love me back. Not even with a tiny amount on my wrist.

So I gifted it to my cousin. As I thought she might appreciate it more then I do. As it really is a quality scent, for special occasions or nights out but its just not for me.

hayleilei

to me this is slightly sticky raspberry, rose, patchouli and musk. it doesn't evolve a huge amount - the dry down is red fruit and rose/patchouli dark purple vibe, with a bit of cotton candy. if you like Ricci Ricci and Stella and you're ok with fruity sweetness, then you might like this. to me it's great for the price (i paid £20 for 40ml) but it's not particularly special and i wish it was balanced by a woody note to counteract the close-to-cloying sweetness.

cheycf

I purchased this blind after finding it online for a low price and really liking the sound of the notes. It is, as others have said, quite boozy in the opening. It doesn't quite fill the room, but it is pretty strong upon application and people will definitely comment on it within the first hour or so of wearing this. As it settles I find the booziness disappears and instead I'm left with a really deep, slightly sweet, rose scent but still with a slight wine undercurrent to it. It's fine. Not the best rose scent I've ever purchased but it's perfectly inoffensive and I'm pleased with it for the price I paid. For me, the scent is best after three or four hours of wear. The dry down is sweet rhubarb which really reminds me of Nina Ricci's Ricci Ricci. I was quite surprised to see rhubarb is a top note of this one as it doesn't come out on me for a good few hours. Sadly, by this point, the scent sits very close to the skin and I have to bring my wrist up to my nose to even smell it at all. I'll finish the bottle quite happily and, if I can find it for such a good price again in the future (I paid £20 for 60ml) I'd even repurchase it. It just didn't blow me away as much as I thought it would when I saw the mix of some of my favourite perfume notes!

A delicious strong rosy balsamic wonder!

I have to say that this fragrance truly improved with a good long rest after unboxing it. I tend to rush right in headlong and spray my fragrances right after I retrieve them from the mailbox. (I'm like a little kid.)

This definitely has the jammier aspects of the fruit prominently showcased in this scent. If you think the berry *might* be a barrier for you, then I would say be sure to sample this first. And, it most definitely has the underpinnings of some type of boozy concoction that linger throughout the lifespan of the fragrance. But, the rose is tantalizing, and wafts in and out of the composition of the fragrance. While you would expect this type of scent to be cloyingly sweet, it truly is not, and the brightness of the fruit keep this scent a bit effervescent.

I enjoy it quite a bit, now. But, I would definitely recommend resting it well after you receive it.

Jasmindee

If you love and adore sexy, spicy rose fragrances, then Wow! is for you.

I have to admit, I love the smell of fresh roses in a bouquet, but I'm not partial to the *actual* smell of them in perfumes. I don't mind a hint of it every now and then, but rose dominated perfumes are just not for me. However, surprisingly, this perfume grew on me.

The opening blast is a very strong floral, but it becomes sweet and jammy, mingling with the other notes. Raspberry and rhubarb add a tart sweetness, making it cloying to some, but adding some much needed depth and an almost gourmand edge. I found myself sniffing my wrists and my opinion shifting. It was such a strong dislike at first, but now I actually quite like it.

I love the whole packaging and advertising for this perfume. If money wasn't an object, I'd buy Wow! for that gorgeous bottle alone. However, as much as this scent grew on me, it's not going on my "I need this in my life" list.

I think the right woman could pull this perfume off and be the most badass femme fatale, but unfortunately, that woman isn't me. I like my little sample and will use it up, but I doubt I'll ever purchase a bottle for myself.

tessiebee

On paper I should love this perfume. Berries, rose, patchouli, get in!
Its not sweetie gourmand, its not bitter, there are no notes I dislike.

But I just don't love it. Its a scratchy perfume, thin and vinegary and prickly, not thick and velvety (see lveb en rose, 5th Avenue Royale and Montana 80 /crystal noir).

Its also not strong at all on me, closer to rosewater and like berries after they have been left to infuse water.

I will try again in autumn / winter,it may be a bit more robust in cold weather.

-----------
It's been upgraded to a like, because it makes a decent 'going to bed' scent. Soft rosy patch, hint of fruit. It is still a pale thin scent but that works nicely for bedtime.

Katryna G

This scent according to my nose: a blast of pink pepper and a fresh rose, pine or cypress tree with smoky, incensy almost oudy quality, patchouli, maybe a hint of iris.
Very interesting for a new fragrance, mysterious, hypnotic...I was wow-ed when I first tried it. Good price for quality and longevity is really good for an edt.

iman.sallam.9

The words that suit this perfume the most are seductive, mysterious, deep and sensual. It'll be appreciated by patchouli lovers like myself.
If you like Calvin Klein Euphoria, I'm almost certain you'll like this one as well.
Longevity is not bad. I'd say 5-6 hours.
Note to sugary perfumes fans: This one is not for you unless you wanna adventure and kick your collection up a notch.

RossanaJ

love it! excellent for everyday! its like a fizzi , fruity musky berri drink! i wish it lasted a bit longer on me. Love the bottle!

OceanPlusEarth

For a Joop perfume? ... it's different from all the other Joops.

Must say I have a soft spot for All About Eve. Sadly discontinued.

I walk into Chemist warehouse and they class the oldies as dated and point you towards the celebrity stuff. Nooope. Give me the oldies.

However ... this one is modern and indeed wow. Think Patchouli Rose Wood - a slightly fruitier Tom Ford Noir de Noir or Armaf Club de Nuit Intense. Much softer dry-down.

Perfume Clearance in Oz has this for $45.00 for 100ml. Happy to support the locals.

duzmantic

This smells exactly like Vialli White Oud which is a male fragrance.

Babieluv

Unique for this era of perfumes. My first thought when I smelled this was GRAPES. Red wine. Patchouli is also very present, rose as well. I love it. But only for cold autumn days and winter. Longevity is amazing, sprayed myself 9h ago and I can still smell it. When I saw my mum today she asked me right away what is this perfume, but she said she smelled tobacco. Interesting....

Louma

This is really a Wow! Fragrance and is longlasting as well.

diana_drd

I was planning to get Perles de Lalique, this one was advertised as chypre-floral/rose-patchouli combo, also half the price so I bought it without testing it first. It's not that bad, but compared to the Lalique one or Elle YSL it kinda smells cheap, like red wine and honey, not to sweet but cloying. Luckily it turns into a skin scent after 2h so no harm done.

MsKayJae

Definitely has a presence. A big fruity chypre like Gucci Rush but instead of being all about peaches and patchouli, Wow is about rosy raspberries and patchouli. If you enjoy fruitchoulis this is an easy blind buy.

nitschevo

Yes. A big big yes from me. Velvety, jammy rose and as others have said for fans of Elle, Midnight Poison and the likes. Not the same, mind you, but a member of this family. A great offering from Joop!

Petk

I stumbled upon the fragrantica page for this fragrance after liking the deep scarlet colour of the bottle and ended up testing it instore. The fragrance does open with a bit of a boozy burst (as previously mentioned) but settles down quite quickly into a beautiful, yummy, slightly effervescent scent. It reminds me a little of non-alcoholic wine, Maison. Saying that though, I find that the sweetness of the rose, rhubarb and raspberry (very apparent) is anchored nicely by the patchouli and white musk. There is something very clean and almost powdery here. This is not sickly-sweet lollie water. Pleasantly surprised by this frag, I very nearly wrote it off as the name (to me) sounds cheap. I look forward to purchasing this soon and seeing how it wears.

reborn

High quality perfume. It has little bit of Piere Cardin rose+Elle Ysl+Black rose Trussardi. Very potent with great sillage and lasting power. Only for cold weather. Has a little unisex vibe in it

My partner is a huge fan of Joop! fragrances. I bought him a gift set of the new Joop! Wow! for Men a few months ago and already he has nearly polished off half the bottle. When we heard news of the female release, both my partner and I were intrigued.

Just this month I made a bee-line to my local perfume store to test the newly released Joop! Wow! for Women. I admittedly didn't expect much, mainly due to the inexpensive price tag, yet I was pleasantly surprised to find a very wearable rose-patchouli combo.

Joop! Wow! for Women is a smooth, somewhat delicate rose, patchouli and musk fragrance. It reminds me of a less harsh Yves Saint Laurent's Elle. Marketed as a sensual, elegant fragrance, Joop! Wow! for Women almost doesn't seem fitting as a budget-friendly scent. If I were to blind sniff this fragrance I could easily mistake it for a high-priced designer perfume.

I make no secret of the fact that I am a fan of patchouli, so the dominant patchouli accord in Joop! Wow! for Women does not bother me in the slightest. The patchouli note in this composition smells more 'chocolatey' than green, further adding to its sex appeal.

Despite the television advert suggesting that Joop! Wow! for Women has animalistic tendencies with an allegoric image of a white panther, I find the musk note to be quite subdued, providing a powdery finish to the composition rather than adding a fecal twist.

Sadly the only downside to this fragrance was the poor longevity on my skin. I was really enjoying its progression, and I found it to be a real shame that I couldn't enjoy it for longer.

Dorange Sense

As a patchouli hater through and through this scent
actually wowed me!
I tested it only because of Milla and the funny TVC.

The blend is velvety, rich and niche like indeed.

And the patchouli gives the other notes just a nice
depth, a darkness, without any BO or bitterness that
I found in all of those
Angels,
Flowerbombs,
LVEBs,
Black Opiums…
the list is endless.

I even think of getting it. Color fits nicely. It's also more pleasant than Velours by Bottega Veneta, where the patchouli is screetchy.

It's a leathery scent, even crossing the border to
something like Tuscan Leather, hello!

The name is funny though…

emmy_x

I tried Wow today, was intrigued by the notes and the reviews here. I must say, not bad at all! Elegant, rich (but not too heavy) and atmospheric. Like a velvet dress on a crisp winter evening. I agree with some other reviews, I feel I've tried several perfumes recently that remind me of this one (and I've not even tried all the niche ones that people keep mentioning here!). Wow reminds me of Gucci Guilty Absolute pour Femme and also feels a bit like a less dusty version of Bottega Veneta Eau de Velours. Rich red roses, patchouli.. not too sharp. I prefer the dry down, when it has calmed down a bit, very elegant and quite comforting.

antonpan

Wow! The best Joop fragrance in years. I feel the niche quality here, a beautifully blended berries-patchouli combination with a hint of oud. Extremely similar to L'Artisan Voleur de Roses. Could be easily worn by men.
Nothing special for the niche market, but a breakthrough for the designer's.

Midnight Lady

I expected bigger wow here. Not saying it smells bad. It's medium heavy, little projection. The rose note is quite nice here, the patchouli is very prominent. It's mixed with raspberry. Just like so many times before. Been there, done that, bought a t-shirt. Nothing earthshaking in my eyes.

4/10

Whit

Um, wow! Sorry, but that was my initial reaction when I sniffed this. I mean, holy patchouli batman!

On me, the patchouli is very, very prominent; my skin usually amplifies this note. I agree that it resembles a good wine that you have at dinner. It does smell a bit "boozy" to me, like a strong red wine. After it settles, I start getting the rose and a bit of tart rhubarb. I don't smell musk or peony at all on me. Smelling it from the bottle kinda reminds me of the old school chypre florals; it's very strong and in your face. You have to wait on this one to settle and I can see the opening being off putting for some.

To me, this is suitable for cooler temps; late fall and winter, maybe early spring. I see it being too overpowering in summer. Longevity and sillage are excellent; 9/10 for me. Joop has some interesting perfumes and this is a great addition. Do try it if you love patchouli or weird notes, like rhubarb.

Rinio

I tried it today and it's a very nice fragrance. Like a glass of good wine in the evening with your favourite person.

nightcutter

My first impression is not a good one. On my skin it is light. Not potent. The patchouli is dominant. There are some subtle pink/red notes like rose and berry. I thought it very masculine (which is not a negative) but I found nothing exciting in it. I will try it again as I was hoping to like this.

Planet_X

Beautiful, smooth, but quite soft lipstick type of rose with not extremely jammy or powdery raspberry, yet it is definitely into niche side of rose and patch, you can name at least 10 similar ones, silage is very average though, not so much of a projection as well.

To me it is definitely without "Wow" factor, but still very decent fragrance from Joop! I do not able to detect any rhubarb in it at all, but loving the rose. It is like a mixture from few different roses and patchouli is fresh and chocolaty By mood it is secretive, dusky, introvert fragrance, not as seductive as Mila with white panther in advert, but not as dull and synthetic as many others around.
6 out of 10.

SWEET ROSE
______________________________________________________

I was quite disappointed by the Male WOW and I didn't care much about the female version - but I fell for the ad campaign and I'm glad I did.

It opens very a very strong rose, which turns into a sweet rose very fast. The candy-like rose stays strong for quite a while - and I love it.

Longevity: - 10/10
Sillage: - 9/10

All in all: 10 out of 10 subjective points -> because i love a sweet-rose fragrance

Olotitan

Wow! JOOP! I Love me some Milla!
This juice sounds promising love Raspberry and Rhubarb rose absolute, and patchouli and warm woody notes oh my feels sexy as hell sweet and edible WOW!
Absolutely want this WOW!

AllHalliwellsEve

OH WOW... Wild Raspberry, Rhubarb, and Rose Infusion/Red Rose Absolute? Take my money now! I can't wait to test this beaut. I'm really digging the ad, the commercial, the deep burgundy coloured bottle, and Milla Jovovich as the front woman of this. I loved the rhubarb note in Salvatore Ferragamo's "Amo", hoping I'll like it in this one too. My zodiac sign is LEO, so everything about this just fits me to a "T", hopefully this will be my new signature scent. I can just tell this is going to be one BADASS perfume... ROAAAARRR!

COSMICSCENTS

This made my day, I am in extreme lust! I love everythingt about it, the notes, the bottle, the packaging, the campaign, the beautiful panther add, the color of the juice and I love MIlla Jovovich, I think she represents this fragrance perfectly. I am drooling. Can't wait to have it.

Babygia

Found this surisingly in my dept. store last saturday, tested immediately.
Really good stuff, reminds a little of Eau Velours from Bottega Veneta, just drier... Very pronounced leather note, must be the mic of the cetalox and patchouli.
really good fragrance, but i would say, it fits better for the cold weather, in summer could be too overwhelming.
