Came here after watching the Kenzo World perfume advertisement video directed by Spike Jonze in which actress Margaret Qualley does a very outlandish unbelievable athletic fantasy dance routine. Really fell down a rabbit hole tonight in that the Taylor Swift music video I was watching called Delicate was reviewed as being too derivative of the Kenzo World video. So I watched the Kenzo World video, too. Both videos feature strange facial expressions, some very ungainly and rather uncoordinated but seemingly quite difficult dance moves, extremely weird sequences, etc..Both videos are what I guess would be called avant garde. Not sure I understand much about either video, but the Kenzo one must have fulfilled its purpose if I came here.

Kenzo World Intense is an underrated fruity floral gourmand fragrance. The opening is heavy on the juicy plum note. The peony adds subtle freshness and the jasmine adds elegant floral touch to the fragrance. The vanilla here is powdery sweet and alluring. Overall it's a perfect balance of fresh florals with juicy sweetness. The smell is elegant yet sexy. Also it's perfect for formal occasions as well as romantic date nights too. If you're using it as a signature scent or for any formal occasions then 3-5 sprays will be enough to serve such purposes. But for date nights or parties I prefer to go heavy on the sprays. Kenzo World Intense creates a beautiful Scent bubble and leaves an amazing scent trail. Longevity is around 6-8 hours depending on skin chemistry but it lasts longer on clothes.
I enjoy this fragrance during spring and the rainy season but it can be used all year round too. If you're looking for a fruity floral gourmand fragrance then give Kenzo World Intense a try. I'm sure you won't be disappointed ❤️

demi1504

I purchased this fragrance without letting it settle on my skin first. Personally, I find it challenging to wear; it's strong, but not in a way that has an impressive sillage. The scent itself is heavy, definitely more suitable for winter and nighttime wear. To me, it feels overbearing, akin to eating too many cinnamon rolls without a glass of water. I believe a good alternative might be Black Opium by Yves Saint Laurent.

LEM922

Wow. Deep, plummy, syrupy vanillic floral. This is definitely not a warm weather nor daytime fragrance. Perfect for cold weather. I see it being compared to decadence, but I don’t think they’re similar. Decadence is much smokier, and KWI is far sweeter. This is definitely a sexy fragrance. I have a winter trip in NYC coming up, and I’ll definitely be wearing this on a chilly night out. Very nice.

MCW7

Really like this one. syrupy, sweet, pleasant, long lasting, very different from most fragrances. Found myself sniffing it all night. I like it.

Arasando

Beautiful, syrupy plum & florals on a vanilla base. Rich & decadent without being cloying. Smells like Miss Dior (old formulation) without the patchouli. If you like Dior Absolutely Blooming, you’ll like Kenzo World Intense.

Andreea2906

I simply love this perfume, it's one of my favourites. It smells amazing, like juicy ripe plums and it lasts forever on my skin. It will always be in my collection and I like make sure to have several backups just in case Kenzo discontinues it (really hope they won't) Love, love like a hug that comes out of a bottle

tsubaki3031

I was afraid to buy this as the opinions are strong. Curiosity got me and my bottle arrived. Some said it smells like juicy fruit gum, applied lightly - yes that's exactly what it smells like. Someone else said this needs to be applied with a heavy hand, yes it does. When applied heavily it awakens like a low growl becoming dark, juicy, tart, and deeply vanillic. It smells intoxicating, ready for a November evening when heavily applied on skin. I sprayed a lot so I had a big scent bubble and longevity but I feel it would be similar if applied with a lighter hand. It can smell somewhat synthetic, but I don't mind it. If you have Olympéa Legend this is redundant which it kind of is for me! But I will keep her for now :)

arizonaruby

Quite a unique fruity fragrance, but I don’t think it’s a love for me. The plum is very prominent, and as this isn’t a common note, it definitely gives it a point of difference. It almost has a ‘cold’ character compared to other fruity perfumes - more sour/tart than sweet/juicy. I get a bit of florals but I’d say this more of a fruity than a floral perfume. I actually don’t get much sweetness from the vanilla. Overall it’s interesting and unique but I think it would work better as a candle than a perfume - I think it’s just a bit too sour for me.

herculano

The dry down is almost identical (if not identical) to my holy grail, number 1 perfume, My Burberry Black, but as if it’s a poor man’s version. Not nearly as deep or long lasting.

Very tart plum, has a masculine edge, and this fragrance also doesn’t last.

This is a big nope for me. I gave it to my niece.

I wouldn’t say it’s bad. But it doesnt measure up to my other fragrances.

Actorfellow

The opening is very strong and reminds me very much of Bond No 9 ‘I love New York Holidays’ and also a touch of angel. Also something also reminds me of Wish from Chopard. It smells like there is something that reminds of patchouli. I definitely agree with some people saying the opening smells somewhat masculine, but then when it dries down you get the floral qualities. It’s not overly fruity, the floral quality is equal. Certainly smells very complex and expensive! The bottle is beautiful!

onosowobo

I really liked it when I smelled it at the store.. but the reasons I loved it at first ended up being why I didn’t like it. The plum and vanilla come across as experimental not well blended or balanced, so that beautiful bust of plum and vanilla I enjoyed at first sniff became a persistent and artificial scent on my skin throughout the day, this was distracting and a little obnoxious to the point of headaches. The simplicity of not having too many notes ended up coming across as more simplistic/generic as there was no journey and nothing to break the monotonous scent. Although there aren’t too many notes the fragrance still come across like it’s trying too hard, which was weird. A little too playful, It feels like a night out fragrance and we keep it at that. I really wanted to love this because I’m a big fan of the perfumers and I was curious about the blend of plum and vanilla, but I ended up giving the bottle away. I can see how some people might enjoy this, it has a people pleaser side to it especially at first sniff or short periods of time.. it’s not a bad fragrance, but not a safe blind buy. Test it, wear it around and see if you like before you buy. If you don’t like candy sweet fragrances, you likely wouldn’t enjoy it.

WifeyPink

Figured it out! This is one of those perfumes, to my nose, you must spray heavy. One spray on each wrist & done makes it smell super masculine. The heavier I spray the more the plum & sweet vanilla comes out and the more that weird masculine note fades. I totally understand the juicy fruit comment now too. It smells divine, only if you're heavy handed though!! I wore it heavy to give it one last real try the other night as I was cleaning and omg I haven't been able to put it down since, I kept getting the most beautiful whiffs of dark plum vanilla. I LOVE LOVE LOVE this now. Great longevity and projection too btw. You just have to be all in with this beauty.

Lindsconn

When I first saw the notes, plum and vanilla, I really thought I was going to love this one! Unfortunately it smells so unblended to me, the notes don’t seem to work with each other and it smells like a strong, overpowering mess. There’s something I find so nauseous about this fragrance.

On the positives, as I mentioned it is very strong so if you love this you only need a few sprays to project well and it will last you most of the day! The bottle is very cool and unique also.

I would definitely say to test this before buying if you can, as it seems to be a love it or hate it fragrance.

emmayoung537

This smells quite powerful to me, which is exactly what I wanted. On my skin, I can smell plum and peony. This smell has captured my heart. This is contemporary, fruity, and just a little floral. It has a highly invigorating scent in my opinion. This is a terrific fall evening and night scent since it has a hint of sultriness and I adore how the vanilla and black plum combine. I wish the sweetness would have persisted through the drydown, but the heart is much more floral. With the vanilla note present, some sweetness reappears in the base, but it never gets syrupy or cloying. Amazing longevity, silage and projection.

Tinabill

KWI is mainly a juicy, plump plum with sweet, warm vanilla. The floral notes help keep it fresh, so it’s not overbearingly sweet. The performance is good but by no means “intense” .
I like KWI because I love plum notes in perfume, but in all honesty it is not earth shattering and doesn’t live to our expectations from Mr. FK.

allthatis_barelythere

Kenzo World Intense is intensely sweet in the opening, almost like fruity bubblegum or lollies. Beyond that, I really had trouble identifying much else except for the vanilla in the base, although even that seemed quite subtle to me. The fruity sweetness does soften after a while but I’m not a fan.

obssessedsniffer

Smells like Juicy Fruit Gum!!

SarahKatrina

What I enjoy about this is that the peony adds a freshness and transparency to the fruity plum and it sits on a base of vanilla . It would probably not be as great if it sat on a base of patchouli. It actually reminded me of la Petite Robe Noir Intense with the fruity opening, but I got sick of this one quickly due to it sitting on a patchouli base. The vanilla base of this registers rich and syrupy but isn't cloying to me.

Remmel

Very juicy sweet in the beginning, like cherry medicine or a can of pears, before it fades to an almost nonexistent powdery-sweet floral. It's alright for the price, but nothing special.

inesita75

Yes, Gucci Rush! (Which I own).
I arrived to a meeting, greeted a friend and said: here it smells like Gucci Rush! She had no idea what that was. Later on she showed me the bottle of her perfume she kept in her bag, and it was this. I removed the cap and smelled directly from the nozzle: again, gucci Rush almost exactly as I remember it.
The funny thing is that the notes here on fragrantica seem to be very different for each one.

Edemay

Smells nothing like gucci rush or my burberry
This smells like intense sweet plum scent at first spray and then drys down to smell sooo extremely cheap

SmellsLikeMoneyWellSpent

Heavy and a bit of BO kinda frag. Have this moments of smelling like a pair of socks in a changing room at the gym...

waskotransportation

Okay so I collect perfumes and I'm always looking for something that's going to blow my mind and this is unbelievable. I love it so much. Huge difference from Kenzo world. On my skin the plum stands out the most and not just during the top notes. It really sticks around. Now I found out they have another one called Kenzo World intense fantasy collection that looks similar and looks like it's the same notes. It's for sale in the UK. Does anyone know if there's any difference between this one and the one called fantasy collection? I think it's the same exact thing but I'm not willing to purchase an entire bottle of it to find out

aldinatic

This plum peony blend smells really bad to my nose. Feeling like I am in a crossing with no directions with this one.

Majo23

Wow. Sweet, creamy, dark, a bit spicy and borderline masculine. This is a very pleasant and versatile blend of plum and vanilla, with a delicate touch of jasmine.
I'm thrilled with my blind-buy, this is my new go-to night out scent.

missogi

I don't understand the relatively low rating for this fragrance. It's a really good and unique fruity floral. The plum is delicious. A safe buy for anyone who enjoys sweet, juicy, fruity scents.

Also, I don't quite get the comparison to Decadence (I did compare them next to each other). In the opening, they are indeed somewhat similar due to the plum. But even after 15min, these two are very different. Kenzo World Intense gets sweeter and more floral, while Decadence just stays Decadence :D (I really dislike it, too sharp and unpleasant for my nose).

This Kenzo is really nice, and if I'm in the mood to get myself a mood-boosting, jammy fruity scent, I'll definitely consider this.

Update: I bought it :) Love it!

AquaphobicOtter

Light and floral with a bit of depth from the plum. Not the most exciting (I much prefer the plum in decadence which is very intense on me), but an easy, yet unique fragrance that I happily wear to the office when I want to switch up my regulars.

I don't reach for it very often, there are definitely better perfumes for me out there, but if you love plum it's worth having a bottle around if you find it at a good price.

lmnsvgz

A plum tart with lots of added vanilla. A very smooth, slightly sensual scent. It's sweet but not overwhelming.

Veronika95

This is quite good for the price. It’s not that kind of scent that will immediately blow you away, but it is dark sensual and somewhat interesting. The more I smell it the more I like it. I wouldn’t call it intense much, it’s like average edp.
As a non professional sniffer I can detect plum with vanilla and very pleasant jasmine. And I love me some sweet juicy jasmine 🤤 I’m getting a little bit of Alien vibe, but I’m not saying they are similar, just very similar style and direction. I think if you like Alien you must like this too.
I really don’t like the cap though 😅 it creeps me out and I can’t explain why 😂 the bottle looks actually better without it.

Btw, I’m starting to think that this might suit my boyfriend better than me 🤔

Madyana

This smells just like the bottle looks; big, plump plastic plum. Just Perfect!

Nora_30

Idk .. its not bad but its not wow ..if u want spend ur money go ahead..weird smell ..so different reminds me of Miss Dior Absolutely Blooming..the peony.. You should try it b4 u buy it ..lm little mad and disappointed

Papavero0

Incredibly generic, vaguely sweet and fast-fleeting...

Lotta

Such of beautiful perfume. Nice juicy plum, i love it.
Very beautiful bottle too.

semsem_sunshine

This perfume is a gift from my husband and he absolutely loves it.. so unfortunately I can’t throw it away
It’s not a bad scent whatsoever but I would never have purchased it myself.. it’s a little bit heavy and causes me headache and smells somewhat synthetic.. the drydown is much better than the opening (fruity powdery vanilla) but still not my favorite.. but to be honest the sillage is amazing it lasts a really long time up to two days on the clothes

agate.ne

Kenzo World Intense is just like her name, intense. And she is divine. I blind bought this and fell in love with the first spray. Gorgeous.

This is a perfume I would wanna wear to cheer my self up (in these gloomy quarantine days). The scent is sweet, bright, and unique. Love the silage, love to smell this scent on me, but I wouldn't wanna wear it just anywhere outside. It's kinda night occasion perfume to me.

Tbh I don't expect much from woman's perfume line because I don't really like floral and fruity, mostly I tried men's and I do often prefer theirs (like, I love Versace Eros), this one though, is an exception.

Maybe because I like bold scent. And this is bold. This is my signature. Would totally repurchase once I run out. This is a must-have perfume for me.

Palmer Eldritch

Sometimes I look back at the Kenzo World range and think:

- Kurkdijan is overrated.
- The marketing for this range is more intriguing and memorable than the scents themselves.

Not that they are bad fragrances, nor do they smell cheap like Victoria's Secret body sprays. I have to give Kenzo credit for that.

This is just a super syrupy plum. Peformance is alright, very acceptable for eau de parfum. I can't really smell the floral notes on my skin.
It is definitely not worth the price or the marketing.

It's basically a less sophisticated version of Marc Jacob's Decadence EDP. They tried to make the original Kenzo World more cold-weather oriented...but went with questionable scent choices.

Verdict: Definitely try before you buy. Purchase during mega-sales because then it is kind of worth i(?).

Eha1203

I must be regret to buy this parfume, it makes me sick, the smell is too wierd. Sorry too say I hate this parfume.

pennypencil

~Peach nectar, a heart of plum and a warm vanilla base~
I never have much luck with making Fragrantica's smell-a-likes function work, which is a shame because I value comparisons. Having owned both perfumes I can tell you this smells a lot like the much more niche and highly revered (especially in the mid-noughties on MakeUpAlley) Frapin 1270. It's the plum - it's almost identical, and the main feature of both fragrances.
I think Kenzo World Intense can somehow work as a beachy fragrance as well as a winter warmer. Very versatile. A bit of a sneeze inducer at first spray, but very enjoyable, attractive and plummy. The vanilla is warm, there's a sexy, musky sweetness, and enough of a pop of vinyl for it to feel modern. I also happen to love the bottle. It feels great in the hand and when the eye bounces against the glass of the bottle it tinkles.

mirisfrik

On my skin, World & World intense are almost the same. I can’t tell the difference. At the same time, it’s almost the same scent as Gucci rush, but at the fraction of price (testers of world can be found online very cheap).
The bottle is ugly, really ugly, but at the right price, I might buy it for the pleasant smell.

Juma

Oh, gorgeous weirdo on my skin. It's not alike of any in my perfume collection. I have some plums in it but none is floral- peony blended.
I love it from my first testing till now when I've got a decant in perfume swap. On my skin is fruity peony with vanilla undertones which evolves musky on my skin- am I the only one? It must be jasmin. When I dislike the first K. World is this pure love. But I understand this one never could be a crowd pleaser, it's so different to other fragrances.
It has a good sillage and longevity on me.
Another Kurkdijan masterpiece.
When I use up large decant I'll decide if buy a bottle.
Edit 10.6.2020: Still like it but what is bad: I can catch sometimes smell of rotten beer in warmer weather.

avierra93

Can anyone tell me if the cap is supposed to be rubberized like the original, or plastic. Mine is plastic.

t.satrova

I tried a tester and I really like it, sort of oriental fruity perfume with a base of vanilla. Just wish it had a heavier sillage on me.

PricklyAndHot

Not catchy plum.

craftymaya

Gorgeous sweet plum opening. Unfortunately, the sweetness disappears too fast (within 5 mn) to leave only a soft fruity/vanillic dry down. Nothing "intense" here. If only the sweetness and strong plum could stay on longer!!! That would be a big LOVE.... NB: "Love" for the juice, not for the ugly bottle...

CobraCommander

Smells like juicy fruit gum.

lmwimsatt

I dont hate this one nearly as much as the original but its still a dislike for me. Granted it does have a Christmas vibe to it

masako_30

I agree. Anyone who has lost Gucci Rush may find in Kenzo World Intense a vibe of it.
The EDT is more in my style. However I can't not appreciate this plummy version.

ScarlettX

I am very surprised that this one is actually good. I didn't like the original or the EDT.
This is far better than these two. The opening notes are not my taste, too strong and sweet, even masculine in a way. But it settles down into a floral fruity scent, that has a nice sparkling peony note. Nice and fresh peony really shines through in this fragrance.
So I think it's an interesting and good scent.

waskotransportation

I am a perfume collector that somehow doesn't have anything from Kenzo in my collection. I first ordered the EDT of Kenzo world because of the horrible reviews on this site for this fragrance and the Kenzo World EDP. The EDT was lovely so I progressed to this one. The plum is to DIE for.

this smells very strong to me which is what I wanted and honestly I smell Plum and peony on my skin. those are actually both of my two favorite notes. I'm in love with this fragrance. It'll never become my signature and take the place of Chloe EDP but this is certainly something that I gravitate towards at least once a week. There are so many horrible perfumes available to us that are truly awful and somehow have higher reviews than this one. This is modern fresh fruity and slightly Floral. To me it's a very energizing fragrance. It deserves a 5-star review. now that I have the other two I'm going for the original Kenzo EDP. I thought I would never buy that because the ratings were truly awful but then again so are the ratings for this. I just didn't know that my taste was so far off from everyone else but it is definitely worth the splurge

jongs166

This perfume is very similar to Gucci Rush en X by Clive Christian to me. They seem to have very different notes but they smell very much alike, at least on my skin.
I like this one, longivity is great and the sillage also! If you are a fan of Gucci Rush, you must try this one for sure.

LisaLovesPerfume

Plum is my favorite note! This a wonderful, whimsical fragrance that is worth trying!

Charess

This turns into a fruity mess on my skin. I get way too much plum, and the plum is not in balance with the other notes. The peony smells a little synthetic. I also smell something like metal? No this does not work for me.
Sillage and longevity are good.

AnitaHendricks

This is funny! I like the plum and vanilla opening but then it turns sour and weird on my skin. I think I can blame the peony note. It's slightly warmer and sweeter than Kenzo World in my opinion. After one hour the sourness is gone and I like it again. This might be different on somebody else!

Jillzilla

I really love the super sweet, ripe, juicy plum note in the opening of Kenzo World Intense! It combines with the peony and jasmine beautifully! I love intensely sweet perfumes, so I wish that sweetness lasted throughout the drydown, but it gets much more floral in the heart. Some of the sweetness returns in the base with the presence of the vanilla note, but it never becomes syrupy or sugary. Longevity is good on me, around 5 hours. This is beautiful, and different from other recent mainstream scents!

MissAnnette

No offense to those who love this because I'm sure it smells lovely on you. On me, it smells very sticky and cloying. It made me feel sick, and so is my dad. It projects really loud on me. It is what I love about Kenzo perfumes. They all perform really well. I think it's perfect for people whose skin eats up perfumes. This would probably smell lovely to me if it is less loud and screeching. Because it is so strong it gives me impression of the plum being overripe.

jeca

It is sweeter and fruitier, and more Kenzo, than the original, but still I am very disappointed with perfume works by new Kenzo art directors ;o(

genny17

It is just coming out here in France..they had a tester and they were nice enough to let me try it!
Well, it is better than the first one in my opinion., it has a warmer vibe, and gets rather sweet in the base..it is more rounded and smoother too... it is kind of a vanillic oriental. Not heady but it has presence..I am not sure it is my cup of tea, but in winter it would certainly be pleasant to wear..I wasn't like impressed overly with it, it still has a bit of the original in it, but more likeable...if you didn't like the first one, you might enjoy this version..I am kind of liking it, nothing more..well done, but not a huge want for me !
UPDATE: I went again to try it, and my husband liked it, and I found it to smell great on my skin, so I bought it! It is a bit unusual, but the notes are so well blended in.,

lizzyshreds

I got a 50ml of this on ebay bnib with shipping for $56 I'm really glad I bought this. One of the best perfumes so far in 2017! This is better than the original, I feel like Kenzo World Intense was just done better. Slight sultry, love how the black plum, and vanilla mix, this is a great fall evening, and night perfume.
