Venice2016!

Nice perfume but very poor sillage and weak longevity. It opens salty and developes with marine floral elements. All this in a very discreet tone.

Gabrooch

Deep, cold ocean on the flowery sweetened musk. A sip of refrigerated water on a hot day! Unisex, leaning feminine

yoyo55

It is weird, but a man complemented me how good i smell. It was very hot and humid evening, so i sprayed some not that much and took my dog for walk. Then an older guy passed me and said i smell very good and asked if this was a perfume wnd the name so he can buy for wife. Weird since i am not big fan of this one, but it is not bad for very hot humid times.

laura710

Very very similar to Rem and Aqua Motu. It has that standard marine accord plus some flowery and musky notes. More feminine.

RaggedyAnn

Marine with some really dry notes. The florals are fine. I just wasn't feeling it. It doesn't seem enough - not salty enough, not masculine or fem enough...just not quite enough. Pass for me.

lovetribe

a harmless, aquatic, floral perfume similar to many others that follow the now boring trend of salt water but with non-existent performance. not judged.

Anastasia.A

The opening is OK but it dries down in a thick vanilla. It is a no no for me

I totally understand the comparison with Acqua di Sale by Profvmvm Roma, and I see the the similarity. It essentially shares that scent profile of a sweetened, grassy and salty blend, sunkissed and all that rose-tinting bullshit.

This is honestly a really good product because we're not rating it in comparison to synthetic or fortified ingredient blends. This is a natural fragrance to it's very heart, with the notes being represented quite beautifully with no clashing. It lacks the harsher, more serious side of Acqua di Sale and favors a bouquet of damp seaweed and delicate flowers covered in little drops of iodine.

I'd say it's 30% Salty marine and 70% airy sweetness, of the same family as BR540 with its characteristic, enveloping sweetness that isn't cloying or sugary. Spray 8 times if you want to get it noticed, or 4 if you're going on a date with someone you know has no problem scooting into your personal space.

It's truly intoxicating for its juicy, tangy qualities and despite having a 1hr sillage, 2h tangible dry down and 2h as a skin scent, you will enjoy respraying for that addictive sparkle you get at the very top of its opening. 5h out of a €25 perfume that's designed to be 100% natural, light and matched with its scented line of products is a steal, especially with how smooth and pleasant that blend is!

I use it with the Fiore dell'Onda Body Cream, spreading it thinly on my neck and going at it with 4 sprays of this little blue bottle and one at my nape of either Megamare or its lighter dupe, Equivalenza Marin. Great combo for this summer, especially when night has fallen and it's 25-30 degrees out.

I expected this to be more salty, I guess that was my mistake considering it is called Flower of the Wave... I can really smell algae and it's not a smell I am enjoying on myself.
Edit: I actually really dislike this, I had to scrub it off... It goes on the sale pile...

This one is very similar to Salis by Erbario Toscano. Both are cheap Italian floral aquatic perfumes, that smell rather like showers by the pool than the real sea, or if you need a comparison to something more natural then it's rather a muddy water pond with some flowers than the sea. Salis is a bit more salty, Fiore dell'Onda is a bit more floral, but the difference is really miniscule. You can't tell what kind of flowers are used in any of them, it's rather a generic "floral note" than anything else. They are both OK, inoffensive, kind of retro fragrances, but Fiore dell'Onda beats Salis to the ground when it comes to projection and longevity and it's all in all more pleasant. You don't need any of these two, but if you can't afford a better floral aquatic perfume, choose Fiore dell'Onda, not Salis. Comparisons to Acqua di Sale are a joke.

I was so excited to try it that I blind bought a 15ml mini perfume. It is a very balanced, warm and somewhat "dry" salty marine scent. Yes, it is the ocean, but also the warm sand, and the dry wood banks near the shore. I can detect the floral, but not the citrus notes too. Very similar to Tesori D'Oriente's Thalasso Therapy, which I also own, but with a better persistence. A very good buy for someone looking for a salty, but not fruity/citrus summer scent. I also wear it in the cold season, when I am tired of my sweet/spicy collection.

Mr.noise

The little sister of Montale Sandflower, Rem and Aqua Motu of Comptoir... a good buy!

I had smelled it in the past and I didn't like it, today I went to the herbalist's shop to get organic coconut oil and I wanted to smell it again. I liked it a lot. Unlike Fior di Salina (my favorite perfume by L'Erbolario), which is definitely airy, sunny and Mediterranean, this is darker, aquatic, oceanic.
Very intense and daring, it recalls the scent of the seabed and its mysterious inhabitants.
Somehow it reminds to me the niche perfume Aria di Mare by Il Profvmo, but Fiore dell'Onda is more powerful and intriguing, Aria di Mare is harmless, tame and "fake". I'm sorry for Mrs. Silvana Casoli, in this field L'Erbolario beats Il Profvmo of different lengths, and at a quarter of the price!
PS: sorry for my english, i'm italian

raiza1990

It’s an interesting fragrance. Floral with a touch of sea water. It’s soft, a bit creamy, inoffensive and relaxing. A feminine and romantic scent for summer.

maci2222

Wonderful oceanic. Reminds me of aqua motu, lasts much longer than that one. Wonderful wafts of ocean breeze. Very relaxing.

clemmy

Lovely marine aquatic scent, inexpensive and pleasant. Less bitter and dry of Acqua di Sale and more gentle of Rem edt. Wonderful on summer days and whenever you miss the sea. Natural ingredients, not cloying, not chemical or alcoholic. Highly recommended for marine scent lovers. 3/5

What a joy! As I cannot wear any fragrances at the moment as I am breastfeading, today I will go to the L'Erbolario shop and get the soap for some spa feeling at home. Can't wait to have a shower with it.

LuluCoconut

A peculiar salty-sweet floral fragrance which works a magic for me. It does smell like sea and sand! I feel the fresh salty and floral notes the most but there is also something very balmy underneath. The lasting power is amazing. I can see it as a year-round fragrance. It reminded me of Mugler Womanity, just less fussy and fresher.

steco

I like it!. May be too femminine for the clear floreal notes that are a little too much for me and quite dominant in the down. Really persistent. Recommended for sunny water lovers with floreal notes. very good price

fotoula

I agree this aquatic scent resembles Aqua Motu very very much.I wouldn't say it's the kind of fresh and cool kind. it's soft in tone but persistent in character. Warm sand mixes with musk at first and then I can feel deep inside the hint of sea weed blended with warm sea breeze. Warm not cool! Sweet florals stay hidden but exist nonetheless. Bitter sour lemony tone emerges last.Warm tone aquatics are interesting and suited more to females I think. An Aqua Motu look alike for half the price and with an eco ingredients approach.

THIS IS A WONDERFUL OCEANIC PERFUME!!!
IT'S ALSO A GOOD FOR YOU PERFUME SINCE IT CONTAINS SEA WEED EXTRACT - NOT MANY WOMEN REALISE HOW GOOD THIS IS FOR OUR HEALTH...
THANK YOU L'ERBOLARIO FOR MAKING THIS GREAT FRAGRANCE! PLEASE MAKE A BODY OIL TOO!!!

scentbound

LOVE IT! It might smell similar to other perfumes but it's made from mostly natural ingredients and that's most important.

LisaLovesPerfume

This is the ocean in a bottle! It is very similar to Aqua Moto with the initial spray. Then, it settles to a gently ocean breeze. If you want to daydream about the beach, this should take you there.

mamehaviolette

As soon as I smelled it, I found it amazing. It was so incredible that I had found a scent that could actually recreate the natural smell of sea water.

But this was just the very beginning. This scent then has started to be overused and oversprayed by all the "elegant", wealthy ladies of my town.

Now I can't stand it anymore. This has gotten so fishy that I can detect it from quite a long distance and my sister and I scream its name in terror hahahahah :,D

Steleale

Similar to ADS Profumum, but there are two big differences between this fragrances: the price and the quality. FDO is the cheaper version of ADS... you can smell it!!!

Mieroli87

I like it, but I agree, it's difficult to wear. I have a bottle of it and I like to spray it and feel the perfume in the air...but on my skin it takes different notes, and I'm not sure I like the combination of the two.

call me crazy but I love to use it in winter too.It makes me smile and think of the sea.Although it is freezing out there it has good lasting power and sillage on me.i cant wait to test it in summer too, probably then it will be more powerful.i am happy
This is the perfect marine smell for me..It really smells like sea water and sea weed

Elisewin

Su di me odora come un peschereccio appena approdato, carico di sardine, immettibile.
Trovo fastidioso sentirlo anche sulle altre persone, decisamente difficile da portare.

StellaDiverFlynn

L'Erbolario Fiore dell'Onda opens with a chilly, slightly bitter sea accord. With time, the floral comes through and the whole scent stays like an abstract salty lily on my skin, with a very discreet anise undertone.

The sillage is relatively soft and the longevity is at least 9 hours. Fiore dell'Onda is not very complex, but quite solid and affordable as a salty floral fragrance. It would complement a sunny summer day very well.

polly golightly

anna.dkr5

It smells like seaweed and fish on my skin. Too bad. :(

Medea12

This one smells like any other perfume which tries to resemble the ocean air BUT it is a natural one and that makes a big difference! It is a beautiful summer scent.

dormir6

It's almost similar to Aqua Motu. Not just a small resemblance, but a dead ringer. Not tipical aquatic, in the meaning; fresh water. It's about sand, with a little hint of salt, and a kind of vegetation. Do you know the smell of the freshly grinded poppy seed? Something like that. Good!!!!
Wellbeing, meditation, leasure time.

al.to

Very funny!this is the same scent of PRofumum, aqua di sale.
the same parfum, the same molecules!
the same at one third of the profumum price!!!
Why someone should pay more?
sometimes niche parfum is only haughtiness.

telperien

It smells great in the bottle, like sea or ocean. On my skin, it smells a bit sweet at first. My boyfriend didn't really like it. Then it gets much better. It is suitable for summer but i wear on winter sometimes just to remind me of nice summer days.

kadinurr

On my skin it smells wonderfully thick, a bit sweet and warm (not annoying!) first two hours. Then the fresh notes get dominant. Usually I hate fresh fragnances because of one particular sharp annoying fresh note but it is not there in Fiore dell'onda.

I think it is also great in winter - refreshing like fluffy snow but still comfortingly thick. I get almond note that is not listed.

I bought this one as a present, it might be a hit or miss fragnance.

Edit: it was a hit!

melanie

Smells aquatic, reminded me of Davidoff Cool Water. Lacks imagination, a bit boring, quite ordinary but still pleasant. May be a good fragrance to have on the beach, just to refresh from time to time.

friduchita

Mi sembra un perfetto caso di "plagio" di Acqua di sale, leggermente più dolce e decisamente molto meno persistente.

aromajon

I love it! Already finish my first bottle and bought my second today:)

dandy721

Actually i love it i bought Rem (70 euros) and disappear after 20 min . This one cost 20 euro and stay almost all day

OlfractalInfemme

This fragrance opens with a powerful wave of ocean and cantalope. It brings to mind salt water taffy and days at the oceanside. An afternoon tea at a seaside cafe with cucumber sandwiches and lemon mereigne pie. On the dry down, it becomes reminiscent of a night camping on the beach, toasting marshmallows over a fire and drinking limoncello. The oceanic note however hovers uncomfortably over the earthbound lemon, for me the two never quite blend amiably on my skin.

nonnative

The first time I sniffed it, it stinked! Then I smelled it on a friend of mine and it was tranformed into something bitter cold and sensual, perfect for hot summer days. So I gave FdO a second chance. Now I must say I really like it! So unmistakeable and distinct. I know it reminds of Rem, but for me FdO is even better, more refined and corageous. And much cheaper!

merilu59

non direi proprio che somigli a rem !!!!!!
odoro orribile sembra di sentire l'odore delle navi in un porto di mare

Babina 70

i love it... it is so fresh,... of course I prefer it during summer.

lafefe

it's similar to Rem by Reminiscence, that's true, very salty, evocative of ocean breeze. But I don't like it at all,it smells like anti mosquitos spray for me, I can only detect a sharp salty citrus note!

Galya
