Amethyst Eclat by Lalique is a Floral Fruity fragrance for women. Amethyst Eclat was launched in 2014. The nose behind this fragrance is Nathalie Lorson. Top notes are Raspberry, Black Currant and Pear; middle notes are Peony, Rose and Magnolia; base notes are Blackberry, Musk and Violet Woodsorrel.

Lalique is launching a successor to the fragrance Amethyst from 2007, inspired by the gemstone amethyst, and it will be introduced in July 2014. The name of the fragrance is Lalique Amethyst Eclat and it arrives in the same flacon form as Amethyst, embellished with peony flowers, blackberry and raspberry as decorations on the body of the bottle. The color of the flacon is also purple like previous editions, in somewhat lighter shades, iridescent from the darkest to the lightest shades. The only difference is in the smallest flacon, 30 ml, which, instead of silver illustration on the flacon has a relief motif in the same style.

New fragrance Lalique Amethys Eclat opens with juicy and tart resins of black currant combined with raspberry and nashi pears. The heart of the composition blooms with peony, rose and magnolia, accompanied with warm and elegant notes of Oxalis violace, blackberry and sensual musk in the base. According to cosmeticbussines the accent in the new edition lies on intense notes of peony above fruity notes with musk in a trail.

Perfume Lalique Amethyst Eclat can be obtained as 30, 50 as 100 ml.

Friendlier Amethyst but still boozy and dark rich with berries.

Julipet

I got a decant of this and at first I thought that I got a bad sample that wasn’t stored properly and turned, because I barely could smell anything. Do you know the feeling when you perceive something dense in your nostrils and you understand that it must be a smell, but you cannot “read” it, no matter how you try? That’s was my first experience with Amethyst Eclat. Although when I asked my husband to sniff my wrist he said that is smelt like candy, so it must be me “glitching”, not the sample.

A few days later, upon second application, I do feel something sweet and faintly fruity, but I still don’t “read” it clearly. I think I do get the pear, light blackcurrant, and musk notes. What I do manage to catch reminds me of Jeanne Arthes Boum Candy Land, which also comes in a purple bottle, so maybe it’s not a coincidence. I must say, the original Amethyst feels very gentle and transparent to me, a kind of “barely there” fragrance, so maybe it was to be expected that I wouldn’t be able to smell the “lighter version” of it.

I think there is something with the Lalique formula that makes me “nose blind” to it. When I tried “Perles de Lalique” I couldn’t distinguish flower notes there, only patchouli and pepper - and it was an official tester, not a decant.

Anyway, sorry for a not very informative review, but hopefully, it will help anyone experiencing similar anosmia with these frags to not feel alone. I wanted to try Lalique Amethyst series very much, because the notes sounded lovely in each of the three, but so far I drew a blank after a blank. Maybe Amethyst Exquise (supposedly a “darker, more intense” version) will be it for me? I do love blackberries and purple fragrances so much!

Same blackberry thicket in the forest from the original Amythest, but you are now visiting on a sunny spring morning. You are eating a pear while you gather the berries from the thorny brambles. A robin calls to you from the nearby tree branch. This is the lighter "sunnier" spring version of the original for me. Perfect for a warm spring or summer day when the original feels too dark to wear. Love it, and different enough from the original for me to enjoy both versions.

ech0

It has a strong scent of some berries but I'm not particularly interested in scents like that. This tester was interesting though.

Taurien

A sweeter Amethyst without the soapy part.

In winter it left me very indifferent. However, in spring with higher temperatures it seemed much more beautiful. Thanks for the tip @MarinaEtoile in Fragrantica.es! The red fruits and the musky background stand out more. Another aspect that I also perceive is a light powdery floral touch reminiscent of violets or lilacs.

I find similarities with the perfumes of the YSL Parisienne family. It can be a good alternative to them for those people who do not like the vinyl note, since in Amethyst Eclat it is not present.

It has a moderate sillage and lasts on my skin for 5-6 hours.

For me it is a pleasant perfume to wear in temperatures above 20 degrees but it does not have the magic of the other perfumes it resembles.

Look, I'm not the person who usually gets headaches from perfume, but I think I've finally found my kryptonite. The scent is alright on a certain distance, but if I spray even the tiniest spritz on my skin, it instantly burns my nose hairs off. It has this unbearably sharp, pungent, old-lady-perfume smell that never seems to calm down. I've even had people asking me to switch seats on the bus because they also got headaches from smelling this perfume on me! This has happened TWICE!!

I love love love the original Amethyst and I really wanted to like Eclat as well, but this one is just not it. Sorry Lalique :(

This was a blind buy. The notes sounded like something I'd like and the price was superb. It didn't work out for me though, unfortunately.
For me the blackberry is the most prominent in this fragrance, and I find it very artificial, and not at all compelling. It's also turns quite musky on my skin, in an unpleasant and overpowering way. And, I'm a person that likes musky scents more often than not. The peony, blackcurrant and the raspberry also suffer from the same problem as the blackberry and, on my skin it just smells very odd and artificial. I don't smell much of the other notes to be honest. It brings to mind some body sprays from VS that I bought about 15 years ago, that also didn't work out for me.
It opens up very strong, but thankfully dies down fairly quickly on my skin. Not very long lasting. Would say the projection is medium.
I do like the other two Lalique fragrances I own, but this was an unfortunate failure for me. The bottle is pretty though.

lihik

This is not a safe blind buy.
Usually I'm really good at picking perfumes with notes I'll like, but this one just smells like laundry detergent in an off way. I sold it after trying it a few times, it's just not sophisticated or fun - it's somewhere in between pleasant, boring and annoying.

One of the first perfumes I tried when I started to care about perfumes. I liked it but not as much to buy a full bottle. I didn't smell this perfume for maybe two years and today I tried the last 1 ml I have and suddendly I saw how much I developed. It's not a bad perfume, but it smells a little bit cheap to me. It reminds me of Me from Lanvin - clean, work safe perfume, but a little bit boring.

dancingdear

When I got the first whiff I thought “this is delicious I can’t wait to see how” then I went nose blind or the scent disappeared. I tried a few more sprays but it is only there for half a second.
I really liked that half second so I hope this is an unusual thing.
I do really love the original Amethyst and was hoping this would be a less complex but still realistic berry scent. The comments are generally positive so I hope future buyers don’t go nose blind!

stephaniesmellsgood

This smells like shower gel, or like a body spray from bbw. The bottle and sprayer are good quality though.
Smells like berries and musk.
It lingers forever on clothes. To the next day. You can smell this days later on a sweater that’s been sitting out. mixes well with florals and musky fragrances
A like, going on love.
It lasts so long and layers well with other fragrances

samirascarlett

I love the bottle and the smell is nice but ive had a hard time wearing it other than bed. The price was right though. Total violet candy vibe so its comforting.

LSAUG

When I first sprayed this, I thought oh no not another shower gel perfume, but the secret is to let it develop, it isn't going to impress at 1st sniff. This starts off w/ a fruity berry shower gel vibe but that disappears quite quickly and becomes a soft floral w/ rich blackberry mixed in. It gives me the feeling of picking blackberries (I still do that kind of thing) in the woods and there are violets and woodsorrel growing low in the ground and you have crushed a few w/ your feet and it has released the florals aroma and it is mingling w/ the berry juice in your hands. A pretty fruity floral that will wear nice in the late spring and all through summer. I may spring for a full bottle if I can find a deal.

PerfumeForLainy

Winter test is a dissapointment. I can not say that I do not like it, it is just not interesting at all and fleeting at that. Compared to the original or exquise this flanker is obsolete and useless. I sprayed 10-15 times in the air at home, just to get some sense of the perfume and the room does not smell of anything at all. All other perfumes do leave a nice trail for a good time with just a couple of sprays, some even for hours, but this one dissappears into nothing right away. I love the original and the exquise, while eclat is realy a story about nothing. I am going to try again in spring as I suspect more humid air might save some face for the bottle of eclat, otherwise it can not serve even as an air freshener.

JaneBucciArtist

Amethyst Eclat Lalique for women has an oily, buttery smell on my skin. I own this in parfum and never wore it after testing several times, because I could never detect the blossom and fruit notes others find in it.

HeavenlyBreezes

Went totally "nose blind" on this one!

Steph_S

I purchased this perfume, lotion and body butter at clearance price on a discount fragrance site. It's light, but doesn't smell cheap to me. This is one of my lounge around the house on the weekend scents. It's fruity, but not juvenile. I purchased three of the Amethyst collection (Amethyst, Eclat, and Exquise). I'm not too fond of the original, but the Eclat and Exquise are my favorites - Eclat for day and Exquise for the evening.

Jieky

Hmmm, sorry, something didn’t go well...review below is about Lalique Amethyst.

Jieky

I love blackcurrant / leaves in scents and I own a few. This scent was given to me as a promotion but I’ve got rid it very quickly. I don’t like the smell of it and it’s to sweet...it’s very offensive in my opinion and gives me a headache.

gpaisley

AMETHYST ECLAT is a very bubbly, sparkling, light, fruity, sweet syrupy raspberry-blackberry-blueberry fruit salad fragrance. The raspberry note is especially prominent - and it reminds me of the raspberry in Tresor midnight rose.

clemmy

Lovely fragrance, a blast of red juicy berry that will settle in rose then subtle musk. It can give happiness and remind a happy youthful summer day. There is a great nose behind (N Lorson) and I am surprised by Lalique fragrances that i found very cheap lately. Hidden gem at very convenient price. Overall great berry-rose feminine fragrance, for romantic lady or a romantic moment. One good alternative to synthetic, cheap and low quality level berry fragrances. 4/5

Hunnynpink

This is one of my favorite perfumes and the lightest of the amethyst line...pear raspberry rose white floral

Markellam92

I'm pleasantly surprised by that perfume😅many reviews were on the negative side but on me it smells pretty good😏 it's even better if you consider the price too! On my skin it smells more like a flowery sweet perfume not too sweet, sweet enough and at the end I get some blackberries and a bit of powder! It is a nice inoffensive perfume perfect for everyday use, mostly mornings! This is my first interaction with the Amethyst series by Lalique and the second Lalique perfume in my collection.. I'm not disappointed at all!

Hello again 🙃this perfume is one of my favourites now.. I'm on my 3rd bottle (100ml) I just can't go a day without having it on my vanity and spray a little when I wake up or when I go to sleep(of course I have one with me to spray throughout the day) it's my favourite smell, I can't explain it I don't have that kind of connection with any other perfume, maybe it's a memory thing. it's so light, airy and green but at the same time so sweet it's the perfect combination that you can wear anytime anywhere...

Teacups

It's unusual for me to bother with flankers because I worry I will like it and then it will be discontinued. I took the chance because the price is just too good.

This is YSL Parisienne without the weird plastic vinyl that makes it unwearable for me. Surprising considering the differences in their note lists. I'd describe it as a watery rose with kisses of fruit/dark berries. The only thing I don't detect is raspberry. I have other perfumes with raspberry notes I smell more strongly.

I have both Amethyst original and Amethyst Eclat. Although I can appreciate Amethyst, I prefer Amethyst Eclat. Blackberry is stronger and spicier in Amethyst whereas this one has a lighter, more playful feel.

The sillage and longevity are good, especially considering how inexpensive this is.

Rozalina

Typical musky floral-fruit, black currant and peony is quite noticeable in the open and then pear+raspberry is more prominent. I don't find this interesting at all, too light and plain, would much rather try the original Amethyst.

latafan

I fear I really don't have much to write about this one.

It's a rather nondescript musky floral. Sharp and chemical in the beginning, quite powdery and soapy once it settles down. I don't get any fruitiness.

It's not unwearable. Say if your kid gifted you this in a cheap fragrance set (eau de toilette+shower gel+body lotion) for 15 bucks from the drugstore, cause that's just what they can afford, you could absolutely put it to everyday use until the bottle is empty. It most likely just won't wow you in any way, that's all. But for this price, I have to admit for me personally the purchase would sting a bit.

If you didn't tell me what it was, I'd say you picked it up at your local drugstore for around 10 to 15 bucks. Not that there is anything wrong with that. But for that price you'd expect something with a bit more character.

Edit: Funnily the third time i spritzed it I actually did get a fleeting and light fruity accord as well. Doesn't change anything about my all over thoughts about this, but thought I'll add it for completeness' sake.

stacia79

I have never smelled the original Amethyst, so I will review Amethyst Eclat on it's own merits stand alone rather than as a flanker.

It opens with an over the top sweetness from so many berries at once. Just when you start to think that's all there is to it, a beautiful rose appears out of nowhere and takes the lead. Sadly, this doesn't last too long and Amethyst Eclat takes on a cheap musky smell at the drydown. It's not terrible but I would not purchase.

Jacquis

Lalique Amethyst Eclat EDP is the third that I purchased in the Amethyst line. All 3 are absolutely beautiful and each could be a signature fragrance. Amethyst Eclat is just as strong and long lasting as the others. I expected it to be lighter but, no. It is not the "summer" version, just a touch brighter with the raspberry.

Eclat goes in a slightly different direction with the raspberry and pear notes but, is still recognizably Amethyst. Overall, this is an elegant, transparent, bright, dark berry perfume I can still wear this in Spring/Summer and Fall without issues. Winter might be a bit too cold for Eclat but it could be a good break from all the cold weather, warming syrups.

olliesmom

This one gives me a headache, it is so potent and it fills a room. I spray it directly to my wrist and i am having a headache as i type this in. Ill update when i figure out a way to wear this one.

The musk here is very strong but it is very different than beautiful Narciso musk. This one slaps me in the face, often.

OK, despite of my personal opinion, male coworkers seem to enjoy it. One said this one smells really nice, but like a high class escort service would smell like. I think that's a compliment.

AHeartLikeMine

The peony is what stands out to me the most, to the point where it makes Eclat smell "cheap" to me. I smell mostly peony and clean musk, with only hints of the berries that make the original Amethyst such a delectable treat. I think I'll try the Exquise flanker, but Eclat is sadly not what I was looking for. I was hoping for something more juicy and sugary, but there is nothing in this that makes me think of "sweet."

Bubbles1964

What a mistake, I only smell the chemicals, a hair salon in a bottle. Nothing smells natural. So interesting to read others positive take on Amethyst Eclat, proving what’s one person’s trash is another’s treasure. I’m throwing away my sample.

Dawnfiller

I saw this perfume on sale on Perfumes.com at a great price so I took a chance blind buying it. I was pleasantly surprised at the opening with juicy fruits that don’t smell too sweet on me with distinct raspberry, black currant, and pears I really enjoy!

As it dries down on my skin the scent changes to a new doll smell without plastic aspect. There is a tiny hint of florals but nothing I can identify or notice for long.

No musk at end but the blackberry I smell and like. I’m glad I bought it and will wear it. I live in the desert with extreme heat over 120 degrees in August right now so longevity of any perfumes isn’t much. Projection is 6 feet leaving a trail of berries mainly.

I bought the original Amethyst perfume at the same time and just tested it. They do not smell the same on my skin at all. I like both and recommend them if you like fruity scents.

PricklyAndHot

Nothing special, comparing with original. Simple and light fruity floral.

nancy marwan

Perfect but doesn't last long enough on my skin.

iammyping

I can't get it. Each and every single man's lalique is sort of epic on way or another. But IMHO they have only one worthy woman's scent, which is Le Parfum...
I wouldn't dare call the rest of woman's lineup weak, but they lack of that secret something.
Eclat is sort of politically correct. Does not veer off one, used a lot, path. Which is a shame, because we all know they can do better.
Dont get me wrong, smell is fine, but although there are ots of fruits, I wouldn't recomment it to anyone below 30.

Eesa

Not similar to the original, and not magical like the original. I still like it, but it's kind of just an average musky floral. To me, the musk is very strong in this. Original Amethyst really smelled like blackberries and rose bushes, this one not so much. It's a fine, inoffensive scent, but I will never be in love with it. Definitely do not think it resembles original Amethyst or Feerie as others have picked.

kilgoretrout

Still feel this has a musky, soapy, old lady perfume vibe to it, but I tried it again and I am noticing more of the berry notes. Not horrifying. This could be a sexy smelling, night-out perfume. That's what my husband thought, too. I lowered my sillage/longevity rating a bit this time around, it now seems more 'arm's length' for me and faded after about 2 hours.

Lovelily2011

Semblable
Parfum d'une grande féminité :)

suile

I miss the stronger blackcurrant note of the original Amethyst, but I find this one, Éclat, is slightly less soapy.

As a raspberry/pear fruity floral, it's a nice fragrance, not excessively sweet, not cheap smelling and has a mild yet determined staying power. Very pleasant, non offensive modern offering.

Good price in the UK and a nice bottle too.

ScarlettX

I prefer the original Amethyst, which I really love.
This one is sweeter and the black currant note is not as strong as in the original. I sense more raspberry and sweet pear in it.
It's not bad, but this isn't making it special in my opinion.
I liked how in original, black currant note smelled exactly like ripe black currants.
This perfume smells more like fruit syrup with sweetener and scent additives.
I think it's nice though, but that's it.

tommy_girl

I like this one better than original amethyst.it's younger, funnier, easier to wear and let's say less complicated. actually they barely have similarities. the berry scent is completely different in these two bottles.
Eclat smells exactly like fruity gum or maybe berry salad! pear is there to add some sweetness.
I just wish it would last longer.after half an hour it's almost gone from my skin. I can still smell it on paper, but it hardly has any sillage.

achatina

I prefer my old good Amethyst, the pear here makes it sweeter and that's why it loses its mysterious character and starts reminding other scents. It is still a nice scent but not something I would rebuy.

Arlene-Beatrix

Sweet berry cheerful craziness! Surely it is not a balanced scent, but still it is lovely! It reminds me the air in the middle of a forest where wild berries grow. Some flowers can be distinguished too, but it is mostly yummy fruity scent, very youthful and charming.

Update: Comparing it to the first Amethyst, it is much sweeter, possibly due to pear. Suitable for spring, summer, fall and mild winter.

Update2: In short - mysterious, feminine, berry rose paradise.

mseidoom

Amethyst Éclat smells a little like Amethyst, but with a sweet fruity note which I prefer. :) With Amethyst, I would feel like I'm wearing air freshener. Amethyst Éclat lasting power is good, but Amethyst lasted longer.
