Azalee by Lalique is a Chypre Floral fragrance for women. Azalee was launched in 2014. Azalee was created by Michel Almairac and Mylène Alran. Top notes are Peach, Freesia and Bergamot; middle notes are Gardenia, Jasmine and Rose; base notes are Patchouli, Musk and Sandalwood.

Azalée is a new fragrance for women, which belongs to the floral-fruity chypre category. Michel Almairac and Mylène Alran developed the composition from the initial notes of bergamot, peach and freesia. The heart introduces floral notes of rose, jasmine and gardenia on the base of patchouli, creamy sandalwood and musk.

The fragrance is available in 50 ml and 100 ml EDT bottles, decorated with motifs from the Rene Lalique "Le Lys Noir" bottle from 1924, created for Isabey.

I find it more apricoty rather than peachy, spicy apricot with woody notes. Intimate silage with satisfying longevity of more than 8 hours.

Vintage peach top notes with patchouli, freesia, musk, and bergamot; similar to Gucci Rush but faded awfully quickly. This is totally a stylish perfume it's sweet but not cloying, youthful but not feminine. It's not complex, but it's incredibly flexible and wearable. Comparing to Gucci rush, this one is a less sweet, more subtle younger sister with nice longevity and sillage and at an affordable price. Azalée is silky and delicate. It has the aroma of a perfume that is appropriate for most settings. I already adore it. Stunning one!

So I agree that it does take inspiration from Gucci Rush but it’s not a complete dupe. I’ve been through 2 bottles of Rush, it was a favourite and I know it well.
Azalee is really nice however it’s not as sexy. It lacks the coriander note that gives the plastic party popper note. It lacks the sexy party girl vibe. It’s not as deep or mysterious. It also lacks the sillage and longevity sadly. It’s super pretty BUT it’s like Gucci Rush grew up, toned down after becoming a wife and mum. It’s softer, calmer, more reserved than her younger version.
I recommend trying if Gucci Rush is too challenging. Or if you can’t find Gucci rush.

If I understand the story correctly, ‘Azalee’ was inspired by a glass relief made by Lalique. This relief is reproduced in silver paint on the ‘Azalee’ bottle.

I don’t know what azaleas smell like. Flowers are present in Azalee but none take center stage except, perhaps, rose. As the color of the bottle suggests, this is a warm fragrance. There is some spiced peach. It is also slightly earthy with powdery notes. Azalee has a “modern vintage” vibe.

The only problem is longevity, as is the case with most fragrances these days. If you need performance over 6 hours you may need to carry a decant in your bag for touch-ups.

Dry down is mellow, soft, a little woody and a little powdery. It's beautiful.

Today I really don’t like this. I blind bought it because I really like Lalique fragrances. When I received it, I tested it on a piece of cotton and I liked it. Today when I sprayed it on me, I got “bug spray” and flowers. The weather is much cooler than when I first sniffed it. I’ll put it up until Spring and try it again.

**UPDATE**
As the day got warmer, the fragrance got better. Now I see why I liked it in the first place. After 6 hours of wear (and a 20 degree rise in temperature), on me, this perfume has mellowed out to a sweet floral that is very nice. I'm still holding my final opinion until the weather warms up, but I did have to move it from the "Dislike", to the "Like" column.

Azalee is very much like Gucci Rush. It is a peach dominate fragrance. It does not have as much of a synthetic note that Rush possesses. It's a beautiful fragrance. If you like Rush, you will probably like Azalee as well.

A powdery peach with a touch of patchouli. My mother actually has this scent and uses it, so I always get some mature vibes from this. I smell a powdered peach from the start of the scent, the peach disappears afterwards. On the dry down white florals become more visible. The patchouli note on the other hand, gives a bug sprayish sort of scent to this perfume, so it might throw some people off. I personally don't mind the patchouli note. The longevity is moderate for me. Would recommend this scent for women over 30.

whatischypre

High quality floral scent, warmed up by patchouli, which only serve as a shade rather than take centre stage.
A must have for those who like nice perfumes.
Longevity: 3-6 hours

Indeed similar to Gucci Rush. A blend of light quite delicate white florals with juicy ripe peaches on a spicy patchouli bed. It has same body as Rush but its clothes are different. It shares the DNA but not the execution. As I smell Azalee on its own yes it is definitely pretty but Rush is superior.... rush is a big floral bouquet, a loud dirty patchouli, and most importantly Rush is lactonic, very very milky. This aspect is missing from Azalee, also the spicy coriander is missing. I would say Gucci Rush is the best - then Lalique Azalee - and then the reformulated (I think after around 2018) Gucci Rush. So Azalee is superior to current (2020-2021) Rush but is not superior to vintage Rush. As compared to the vintage, Azalee could as well be named Rush L'eau, Rush Summer, Rush Eclat - that would really tale the tale of what's inside. For those who are not familiar with Rush and are looking for a review on Azalee: this is a fruity floral woody scent. It has got mainly peaches, patchouli and gardenias. You will like it if you like stronger florals, florals with a kick, lightly spiced scents, even to some extent woody perfumes.

A mans review. Oh man, what a scent, this is AWESOME. It may come off a little generic but its done very well. I definitely get the Gucci Rush character, very close, which was one of my favorites for women. This scent is the definition how you blend patchouli with florals, wood and fruit, unlike alot of womens fragrances, that overly use it and to suffocating, with old lady vibes. This is floral and wooded scent, mostly. I blind bought this for my mother, with a sample also for me to smell and its one of my best blind buys. She loves it, and been spraying it all damn day yesterday. This is grown, sexy and sophisticated for 25+. A good quality designer scent for $30. I highly recommend this for any woman. Buy it or try it, with no hesitations.

I'm a big fan of Lalique fragrances however I find this one pretty disappointing. Quite generic. First 30 minutes are refreshing but then a strong cherry-like note appears and stays forever.

gtabasso

a vintage peach with patchouli, freesia, musk, bergamot in the top; yes like Gucci Rush but faded so stinking fast

PricklyAndHot

It really reminds Gucci Rush.

LadyPilot

Yes, this is Rush's sister - a non-identical twin sister;) This one has more citrusses and white flowers but lacks the pine-like note that I appreciate a lot in Rush. At the same time it's a bit softer - so this may be an option for Rush lovers who are going to a tropical climate and would rather take a safer variant with them:)

Soofiya

A modern and nice floral fruitchouli.peach, patchouli and white florals are most dominant on me but I also can detect hints of other notes listed here,it's sweet but not cloying..young but not girly,it's not complex but it's really versatile and wearable and I agree with anyone who calls azalee younger sister of gucci rush,it's a less sweet, more subtle younger sister with good longevity and sillage and affordable price
Not a love for me but I really like it and am waiting for fall to buy and wear it,,another nice fragrance from lalique❤

reborn

this is milder and much friendly version of Rush Gucci.I would prefer this one to the other, because Rush is very intense and suffocating

ScarlettX

Azalee is light, sweet and modern. There's a similarity to Gucci's Rush. Even the notes are similar. I enjoy peach and freesia in scents, so I find I very nice.
Not the most original one, but kind of wearable.
The bottle is ugly though.

Allinug

A sweet floral perfume that is right up in my nose all the time and at the same time I get something aquatic too, sorry but it's awful.

Jasminalia

Gucci Rush is back : its new name is Azalée !!

Annica

At first I experienced a great resemblance to Deci Dela Nina Ricci. Now, after about three hours it is also very similar to Gucci Rush. The difference in my opinion is that Rush is much sweeter and Deci Dela feels a bit more woody. Azalée is soft and smooth. It feels like a perfume which can be used in most occasions. Love it already.

Mooniq

On my skin Azalee is soft, almost skinclose but yet there all around you for several hours. A bit sweet of peach and Patchouli. Then I smell Rose and Musk. I can't find the Gardenia at all. Perfect for office, discrete but small wiffs is dancing around.

tommy_girl

very nice and well balanced!when I smelt it in the shop it didn't remind me of Gucci Rush and I don't like rush, but I like this one very much!so don't be fooled by it's similarity to Rush.
though,it doesn't have any red fruit,it smells very RED to me and I love RED perfumes.it's both classic and modern.not childish, but young enough to be worn by younger ladies too.at the first sniff,I found it very juicy, later musky notes combined with white flowers(namely jasmine) and a drop of rose with some delight sweet notes(like vanilla) came to my nose.
this is really pleasant!and the bottle looks glamorous like all of other lalique bottles.

genny17

Rush is real heady throughout. Azalee is softer, more balanced..,I don't feel they are very similar!?..I find Azalee more refined though, and more subtle, only strong in the top notes...it is a warm floral. Modern yet classy..it becomes in the base more of a green floral, utterly feminine. for the stylish woman..I do not detect the patchouli, it is creamy, warm. Lively...it isn't vintage but a solid composition of a beautiful warm floral

ginger68

I agree with antonpan, this fragrance has a recognizable signature. It is the modern daughter of Rush, she is gam, positive, elegant but not shy.
Alizee is also the young sister of Bottega Veneta (another good work of M. Almairac), there is no leather in it, and it is more sparkling and joyful. This one can be a perfect signature scent.
The bottle is beautiful. It's Lalique.

antonpan

A pleasant surprise for everyone who loves and misses Gucci Rush. Lalique Azalee smells like a more subtle, modern version of Gucci's well deserved fragrance. Natural smooth peaches with a drop of vanilla mixed with a sophisticated patchouli note. A pure Michel Almairac signature. An extremely good novelty, Lalique never disappoints.
