It's a sweet vanilla with weak projection so don't worry it'll annoy people around you. It reminds me of Mon Guerlain, MMM Coffee Break and Ariana Grande REM. All are gourmand vanilla, but Satine does not have lavendar in it. It has heliotrope instead. Not sure what this flower should smell like, but it certainly offends many people, so we see polarized reviews here. Overall it's a cheap, unsophisticated and weak vanilla that is OK for everyday use.

bjer-don

Nope! I was so sure I would love this. I tried wearing it for about a month. Each time, I found myself hesitant and disappointed, I really wanted to reach for something else. But I stuck it out. Today, I sprayed it one last time and called it a defeat.
This scent just sickens me. There's nothing warm about it, certainly nothing sexy about it. It's a bland and medicinal smell, reminds me of leaving a hospital.
I'm not even going to pass it along to someone else, because I don't want the chance of coming into contact with it again. It's headed for a deep six into the trash can.

princesita

I bought it blindly and really did want to love it but i very much agree with the comments below about heliotrope inducing headaches and nausea and only bearing it conditionally in cold weather. Now I associate it with nausea and migraines because it gave me a really bad one once, and I no longer use it. Without it, it would be such a lovely cozy vanilla and a super nice clean powdery scent. I also agree with the comments about 'wetness', i would prefer it more 'dry'. One of my favourites L'Heure Bleue by Guerlain should also contain heliotrope (although it is not listed in the newer versions), but that one is less obvious and its a lot more dry scent.

In a way, I also get the same impression with Lalique Le Parfum Lalique, which also contains heliotrope. I really want to love that vanilla, but too strong heliotrope is preventing it.

Ihana

This smells cold in an unfortunate way. It's icy and peppery sharp. The menthol aspect of it, the reason I chose Satine, sits awkwardly in this type of cold. A fluffier, softer, powdery-snow kind of cold would have worked better for me. I hoped for a play-doh heliotrope but on me it's a headachy heliotrope. I've realised that I only wear this fragrance when I go to dental and medical appointments: that's my very literal response to the sterile slant of this perfume. It pulls masculine on my skin and aggressively so. It's not for me.

bjer-don

Meh. Not going to lie and say it's bad, but it's nothing to shout about either. It's a woody, tonka, vanilla scent, but not sweet. I can think of a lot of other scents I'd rather wear. Honestly, for the first fifteen minutes or so, it reminds me of a fresh diaper.
Sillage and longevity are really good. I wish the bottle was clear like the picture, but it's frosted. And not very easy to hold.

Kylix

Pepper and tonka. I thought I would love it, but I do not.

dariaka

Love it! I can't distinguish the pepper although I really like peppery notes - for example, it's quite prominent in Terre d'Hermes or in my all-time favourite Sensous by EL. Maybe the pepper is just so well-blended into the whole composition that my nose cannot separate it from the rest of the notes. Even though I can tell for sure it's not just a sweet gourmand smell, there's a little masculinity to it, balancing it out just right, although it's definitely sweet and warm and powdery overall.

It instantly reminded me of something familiar, but I couldn't really remember and I kept sniffing it waiting until the scent brings me back down the memory lane.. and there it was! My university years in then-peaceful Kharkiv, with my then flatmate who used Zara Femme all the time, generously spraying her gorgeous long hair with it each time after she washed it. Later on we went on a summer abroad together, and it was an absolutely wonderful adventure, and after graduation I moved to the capital, getting a more normal "adult" life and more responsibilities and so on.. and once in a Zara department store I saw it and smelled it and couldn't resist buying it because it evoked so many memories. I used it as a safe fragrance worn at home or whenever I would feel tired of all the more fancy and complex ones, this was my go-to option.

Satine though is just a little bit different at the start, more vintage-y, however, it develops into 97% the same fragrance. It gives me much joy reminding me of the better carefree days, and the flanker is really nice (no wonder, you know what Lalique are mostly famous for). I got 100 ml without testing, and it's one of the many successful blind purchases I had - I knew I'd like it based on the notes and also on my experience with other Lalique perfumes but I didn't know I'd be so happy.
Great quality considering the price, the longevity is good, too

P.S. I know comparing Lalique to Zara doesn't sound like a definition of a quality fragrance but in this case it is. Perfumes are about emotions they evoke

UPD: it also slightly reminds me of CD Hypnotic Poison EDP

karlee79

The amount of compliments I get from men on this perfume is incredible, bever have I ever got so many compliments ever.

aspirina

Fluffy, soft vanilla scent with a heavy dose of heliotrope and tonka. Lightly spiced with pink pepper, and with a clean inoffensive touch of patchouli. It feels creamy on my skin. I think is lovely, although somewhat vintage in a 90's fashion.
Full bottle worthy.

SDO

It is definitely a vintage smell, and I do not like to smell vintage at all.
At first, I get a harsh powdery pink pepper note, which is is quite odd, than some vetiver and patchouli comes along and goes by, a bit like they are fighting with the pepper... and for me at this point it is even more dissapointing.
On the other hand, I strangely got complimented wearing this scent, saying that it is a fresh, womanly parfume.
Whatever, it is not my cup of tea.

ModernClassics

I absolutely agree with people who say that it is a fresher and cleaner cousin of Dior Addict. It would be a perfect day scent for somebody who likes to wear DA on special occasions.

Ceevee963

I. Love. This.
I'm taken on such a wild ride with this fragrance. I smell the notes bottom to top based on the note pyramid here on fragrantica. Initial spray is woody and fresh. I get a lot of the sandalwood and vetiver for about 20 minutes, then the sweet vanilla and tonka set in. About 7-8 hours in I was smelling all of the florals...heliotrope really stood out to my nose. This is also a beast on my skin. I got 10+ hours out of it.

toosimilar

Delicate almondish bomb!
It's sweet, but nice
Projects really well!

Toady89

This perfume is such a weird experience for me.
When I first tried it, I was taken back by the woody pepper opening, and it smelled quite vintage and dusty which I wasn't very keen on at first. I was expecting more vanilla. However, once I've got to know it more I've gotten to like it and appreciate it a lot more. I appreciate the vintage feel, it reminds me of a classy vintage dusting powder. Very makeup and lipstick smelling. I get a Versailles powder room boudoir vibe. But the lasting power on my skin is poor 😔 lasts about an hour tops.
If this was more vanillary and lasted longer it would be a definite love. But I think it's worth a try if you like vintage powder scents. It's good value for money and and the bottle is beautiful.

lmnsvgz

One of the softest second-skin type of scents I have smelled. It is powdery, feminine, clean - it is like powdering your skin after taking a long bath with the most luxurious body products. There is something vintage about it - but not dated. It smells like a princess after a bath in the 18th century

veci

I have Zara Femme and I wanted to find something like that with better longevity. They are very close - except for the heliotrope note, which I'm learning is the cause behind all of my fragrance-induced headaches if I ever get one. I pretty much could only wear it if the outside temperature dropped below -10C that doesn't happen often where I live, otherwise I found it quite cloying. I sadly had to put it up for sale.

fyre92

This smells like wet powder and vanillin.
🤔

Gregora

delicate and feminine scent.

This smells like youth to me, and I have fond memories of it, still wear it even after 6 years (i think i was 15 when I got it). However the scent changes the more it sits like most vanilla perfumes, and for the better. It has a light flowery scent and a smooth fresh sweetness to it. In my skin it used to and still sits very well; sweet and light with a touch of woodiness that doesnt bother me at all even though im rarely a fan of woody notes. The pink pepper is weak but gives it a bit of warmth. I dont know how to explain it but the sillage and longevity are so much more different after I let my bottle sit unused for a few months, it’s more potent in a great way. Love this perfume.

dualaokto

Satine amazed me with its unique airy character. The vanilla is fluffy as many have said, the tonka and heliotrope gave it a warm, nutty, and powdery shades. I’m glad that it’s not a gourmand forward, the pink pepper and white floral successfully balance the sweet aspect, making it not as boring as lots vanilla-tonka perfumes. Performance is lil above average on my skin (in tropical temp), it’s noticeable and sound without being heavy.

The bottle, I really want to like it since it looks beautiful in the pictures (also when I photographed it!), but it’s a lil different if you see it directly, mine is a frosted glass bottle that somehow looks dirty-fuzzy instead of fluffy and artsy.

b.a.denney

I just got this today after having purchased it off Mercari. I'd never smelled it and was hoping I'd like it. The bottle is so pretty, and other than the patchouli and vetiver, the scent notes sounded like something I might like. Sometimes patch is well blended in a perfume to where I can tolerate it, same with vetiver. Well, just one sniff of the cap, and I don't like it. I haven't even been brave enough to test it on my skin yet. The best word I can think to describe it is: BRACING. It's almost astringent and old smelling like an old closet that has moth balls. Now, I don't think this smells improperly stored or "off", I just think this is how this scent is. Maybe it'll grow on me, but I'm not going to force it as I have so many perfumes I love. The bottle is gorgeous.

ChanelNotes

Very pretty feminine scent and lovely bottle. The atomizer is amaing too. Good sillage and projection with decent longevity. Wonderful price point too. If you're looking for a nice soft feminine scent, this would fit a blindbuy in that arena.

Mahsa ranjbar

It’s soft, slightly sweet vanilla with a balsamic touch
But unfortunately the projection is not existent 😩 zero silage and poor longevity
Doesn’t worth the money 🫣

Rcates78

First impression is that this is a pepper perfume, similar to CK Reveal, or Gres Piece Unique. On first spray (always into the box, for me) I get none of the floral top notes, which is disappointing bc I blind bought this one for the heliotrope and gardenia notes. I think I'll let it rest for a week and try again.

Edit.....Tried again but after a few wears this one failed to grow on me. The vanilla is dessicated, the florals dusty, and while the powder in the dry down is some of the best I've encountered (and I'm not a fan of powdery scents), it isn't enough to redeem this one to my nose. I'm sure there are folks out there who will enjoy Satine, I'm just not one of them, unfortunately.

Sanrio

The opening is very much an unsweetened almond with a slight Hypnotic Poison vibe. Heliotrope is very prominent in the opening as well; almond and vanillary but a bit of ambiguous floral freshness that gives way to a soft powder in 20 minutes or so.

The powderiness + the sandalwood in this fragrance give me a soft incensey feel in the dry down. I'm thinking nag champa. I really enjoy it, but it's more of a gentle meditative perfume for me than a woody gourmand like I expected.

Very impressed. Longevity is good but it doesn't project much (which I think is ideal for this type of perfume.)

not-your-babygirl

Somehow it does remind me of Mon Guerlain, I am surprised that its not mentioned in „It reminds me of […]“ I got it gifted and the first times I smelled it - I detested it. It took me a year or so to get comfortable with the scent. Vanilla is noticeable, but not that sugary as you know it from Kayali Vanilla 28 e.g. To me the amber and the powderness of that is really strong. I can detect patchouli - so its a warm scent. Unfortunately the pink pepper takes only a back seat but it smells magically orientalic because of it. I love wearing it to bed or at home.

maya2000ro

It's a sweet vanilla fragrance. Delicate and not offensive. I love it!!!

Sara1919

Very similar to this is her Z&V

Lafarha

I expected something a little more feminine, but to me its a very unisex musky scent. There is a bit of vanilla too. Its a little bit smokey. But it does smell good, its just a little bit less feminine and lactonic than I expected.

Ceevee963

I’ve made quite the dent in this perfume and I’ve only had it for a month or so. It’s a gorgeous powdery vanilla that dries down to a soft woody skin scent. I’m obsessed with the bottle and the atomizer is utterly dreamy. I’m so glad I have this in my collection and it was a great blind buy for me.

Heliga

My first impression was that Satine smelled pretty close to what I imagined from the reviews, except a bit heavier on the wood and florals and lighter on the vanilla.

On my skin the opening is very close to Mon Guerlain, but only for the first minute. After five minutes it's gone in a completely different direction and I don't smell MG at all. If anything it goes more in the direction of Sun by Jil Sander or Rochas Mademoiselle Couture. The tonka gets that same minty toothpaste-like accord (I think it's the tonka and heliotrope combination) and there is a slight soapyness. The mintiness negates the warmth I was expecting, it's fairly cool toned for a vanilla scent. Compared to Sun it's less soapy, less in your face and sits a lot closer to the skin. The mintiness also fades into the background a lot sooner, leaving behind a soft and fresh vanilla scent. It's not going to knock anyone's socks off, but it's really pleasant.

The closest scent in my collection is Joop Le Bain. Satine is more minty, floral, sweet and powdery while Joop is warmer, dustier and rounder, has even more of that vintage book store feel in the background than Satine. Both are soft and comforting and really I'm happy that I have them, but if I could only pick one scent I'd go with Joop. I've got the largest size bottle of both and I've managed to put a noticeable dent in them.

The lid and atomizer (smoothest progression ever!) are so high quality considering I paid 20 euro for 100ml. I already knew that the glass bottle was high quality so that was as expected, but the sprayer is really surprisingly top notch and better than some very expensive brands.

Whify

This has absolutely no scent on skin or on clothes and, therefore, it has no sillage or longevity. Thank goodness I only bought 30mls at a discounted price, but I am still very disappointed. I expected more from Lalique. No more blind buys for me (I tell myself every time)!

I'm not asking for powerhouse projection (which I do not prefer) but just a hint would be nice.

Madyana

Even if I have 200 fragrances and the latest releases, Satine never ceases to amaze me with its beauty. If you ask which fragrance every woman should have? My answer would be Lalique's Satine.

chlorodream

A very nice powdery, lightly woody vanilla with that sparkle of patchouli and pink pepper. I like it a lot, would be a love if it wasn’t so linear.

Sillage is good, arms length. Lasts a long time like a lot of vanillas. Safe blind buy.

mrezayipour

warm perfume. more sweet than spicy. there is weak smell of heliotrope. I like it although not very groundbreaking and maybe charming! I think it is good as autumn and winter everyday fragrance. It is safe but the silage and longevity are both weak. It doesn t last on skin more than an hour.

Skinterpreter

Incredibly pretty.
To me this smells almondy, milky (with a hint of a rice note to it?), vanillic and of course very powdery, but its powderiness is rather cold, almost cooling (like the satine fabric on skin :)). I also get a little bit of woody bitterness and spiciness. It's kind of similar to Simply Poudrée by Jil Sander but it is different at the same time.
This is the definition of a soothing perfume, yet it has a sexy, seducing twist to it. :) And the bottle is lovely, one of the most beautiful perfume bottles I own, actually. I love the black detail in the combination with pink...The bottle reminds me of a very old perfume bottle my late grandmother used to own. Now I am sure I will not find out which perfume she used (the bottle is long gone and my family is not interested in perfumes, also I can't find it online no matter how I try) but the Satine bottle is still going to remind me of her. :)

CJMWages

Sugary vanilla. Good on its own and for layering. Has a soft sexy dry down and lasts all day.

Amritamourus

There was something to it that was similar to what I had smelled before but I couldn't get my finger on it. Aha! It's Hypnose by Lancome. I am surprised no one mentioned that it was at least a bit similar. Interestingly enough, both fragrances are on the same level when it comes to the overall perfume rating and seasons, there are no similarly smelling perfumes mentioned that match though. Still, these perfumes are not the same yet go in parallel to each other in the same direction. Hypnose is its darker more mature sister while Satine remains a much lighter AM fragrance.
The flower notes come through a lot more in Satine. You get the vetiver at first while it's freshly sprayed. Then the tonka bean together with the vanilla gives a warm welcome. Both stay there throughout the whole performance.
Unfortunately, performance is not long and after an hour it becomes close to the skin scent.
If you want something super light, soft, feminine but interesting, this fragrance could be good for you.

6/10

Scent = 2/3
Performance = 1/3

GUADELUPA

Delicate vanilla scent, soft and feminine. Sweety, but not too much sweet. Pepper is also may be clearly smelt here and it balances sweet and tart notes. Amazing! Basically, it's bright vanilla, pepper and tonka bean notes. It is suitable for date and night, parties and dating, even I can imagine it in the office. At first, it seemed to me not very persistent, but after some months its longevity and even sillage became greater and satisfying for me. Good and tender fragrance for girls and women of all ages!

JenSmellsSOGood!

This fragrance is intoxicating! It is a fresher, cleaner Dior Addict. The tonka bean and vanilla are very forward, but the sandalwood and vetiver come in on the dry drown making it absolutely beautiful! Definitely overspray bc she has NO power lol But she's perfect for summer!

Mystery Elixir

Very pink pepper and powder forward, to somewhat of an overwhelming degree. Big fan of the way the woods come through in the dry down. A type of fragrance that I usually am not drawn to but I won't get rid of my bottle as there is something kind of addicting about it. Very good for lasting and projection. I spray this on my pyjama's sometimes and the scent will noticeably stay on there for 2/3 nights.

Descriptors: pink pepper, powder, boudoir, mature, a powdery pink satin and lace negligee.

Poudery

This is a very pleasant and light perfume that ranges between several other fragrances you might know. The opening and first few minutes have a similarity to Aromatics in Black and Mon Guerlain. Satine is somewhere in between these two, with less emphasis on the spiciness and a more demure tonka bean than you get with Aromatics in Black. The vanilla in Satine is a little stronger in comparison. The sweetness and brighter character are more reminiscent of Mon Guerlain, although it lacks the lavender (which some might like).
I was a little "afraid" of the pepper notes, because I don't always like them, if they're too strong, but in this case it's a very soft note and fits well into the composition. The base notes are also very soft. Nothing sticks out in an unpleasant way.

Satine dries down into a sweet, almost almondy skin scent, which maybe reminds some people of La Vie est Belle. The longevity isn't the longest and sillage is moderate at best, but sometimes you might want this kind of intimate scent and you can buy it at a great price, especially compared to some of the other fragrances frequently mentioned as being similar to Satine. I would actually recommend this to a perfume beginner, because it's affordable, easy to wear, but still feels like good quality. I love it!

Last but not least, it's a beautiful bottle. I liked it on the picture, but actually holding it in my hands made me realize just how nice it is, with cut glass rays and the light pink liquid. Satine is yet another fragrance by Lalique that just does everything right for me at a great price, which makes it one of my few favorite houses.

zind

The reviews for Satine are the funniest, they go in all directions and make comparisons to so many scents. After reading I now only smell Mon Guerlain in the opening (that sort of very perfumy and a slightly sharp opening that Guerlain's often have), but my initial respons was that it is very peppery and that Satine smells like a grown up and less sweet Poudrée Intense by Jil Sander. Nothing like Kenzo Amour imo.

I will need time with this, it is not a linear scent. Definitely not as sweet and vanilla heavy as I thought would be! It is quite mature and I get the polarizing reviews as you might get something you don't expect. Very shy indeed, but sometimes I find that a pleasant surprise. Will update and can't wait to try layering as suggested by some lovelies here!

coffeefifofum

The accords list is overly complicated and the notes came in reverse order from how they're listed here.

Skin test in a 68 degree room. Opened very vanilla. Delightfully vanilla. Reminded me of being 5 years old and dabbing kitchen vanilla on my wrist to try to use it as a perfume. Settled into vanilla and floral for about an hour. I can smell the well blended and balanced base notes holding it all together (patch, vetiver, and sandalwood are listed), but two hours later it's still a very vanilla fragrance. I'm conservative with my perfume use and I'd call the scent bubble reasonable. It's there if you're looking for it but it's not looking for you.

A little luxurious, a little sweet. Comfortable elegance.

Fragnant

90’s boudoir, smoking a cigar, America’s Most Wanted at the time. I imagine this is what Heather Tallchief would’ve worn before she lavishly spent thousands in theft money.

parfum arthur

Beautiful vanilla in the dry down. I think of expensive lingerie when I first smelt this. Then...the patchouli or pink pepper, I’m unsure of which one, is on an overdose of being sweaty and almost dirty on my skin. Dusty sweat and an instant scrubber.

kerriejo

I did not like this at all. I get an old man's aftershave from this. It's far too powdery for me and made me nauseous. Luckily, I tested it after work and did not have to live with it all day. Unfortunately, it was a scrubber and promptly rehomed.

PerfumeForLainy

A bit of a personal pleasant surprise, I'd say. When I first welcomed the bottle into my home, yes the bottle straight away as it is well in the blind buy range and the samples are not to be found, - I did not get anything special and thought it to be some nude freshy that does not last at all. The bottle was left alone for quite some time.

I recently picked up this powdery pink bottle and tried again, wintertime. I do not know what exactly happened, but now it is absolutely a jem! Still soft and gentle, but not bland and boring anymore. Lasting power is impressive. I wore it over night both on skin and pajamas and woke up to the loveliest smell of caramel and could not belive that Satine has developed into toffee. Now there is noticable pink pepper in the opening, heliotrope and sweetness, projection is at least a foot, which is appropriate in a lot of social situations. I mark it as a perfect every day scent and another love from Lalique.

A Little Perfume

TL; DR: this is a lovely fragrance with an unfortunate title in my collection - it's the worst performing scent I own.

Let me start out by saying I really enjoy the way Satine smells. It's soft and powdery, elegant but relaxed, and there's a hint of sweetness from the vanilla, as well as a comforting and grounded feeling from the sandalwood and patchouli. To me this works beautiful as a scent for around the home but it's equally lovely for a work environment or a casual outing like visiting friends. I'm a big fan of powdery scents and this is a great one.

It was a blind buy that I was ready to declare on first sniff! However...

This scent disappears from my skin in no time at all. We're talking less than two-three hours of wear before I need to reapply. It's such a shame! Because even though I'm not a person who minds reapplying fragrance (I work from home, so I don't have to worry about carting a bottle around) but I would need to apply this one so often I'll use this bottle up super fast. So, I wouldn't repurchase Satine but I will enjoy using the bottle I have.

handkmommy

I was recommended to buy this by another member. Boy am I glad I did! This is exactly what I was looking for. This is what I wanted Kenzo Amour to be. I’m so glad I listened for once.

Remalda

Beautiful luxurious bottle so elegant!!! I love this perfume i have it so many years and still i love it like the first time i tried it. It smells powdery to me but i wish i lasted longer on me. Its such a special perfume.

mirrorghost

this starts with a hefty dose of vanilla, pink pepper and tonka. it's cozy and inviting. i get more florals in the drydown, wherein it becomes a beautiful heliotrope with hints of jasmine along with the other notes. i wish it had a bit more sillage-it's soft. however, it's one of those pretty, soft comforting scents i have been loving so much the past few years. i definitely want to wear this to bed.

witch_x3

This pulls so woody on me. I do like it, definitely an elegant scent. I don't think you'd really be able to detect it in an office, for example. Maybe as the day goes on the vanilla will come out a wee bite more.

bel.gravia

Gorgeous tonka vanilla scent, reminiscent of Guerlain. Has a plasticy play doh like Hypnotic Poison. There is some interesting freshness too maybe its the pink pepper, it all blends so well 🥰 a romantic, gentle and dreamy perfume. Powdery, woody, vanillic, floral - gorgeous!

haylinr94

Before writing a bigger review, I will just say that I never in my life smelled a perfume with a more prominent red pepper note. It's very noticeable.

AnlisaC

I just purchased this not to long ago, it was a pleasant surprise to me I really like it. It is a powdery skin scent, with a slight spice with the vanilla. It doesn’t last very long but I love the sillage every time I move I get this beautiful scent. As for wearing it’s an all year round fragrance to me. Would I repurchase again YES. All in all I do love this and think it’s a gem! Recommended for the price at discount retailers!

Today is grey and rainy. After a long summer in the back of my closet I craved Satine.

It's a beautiful soft, creamy, powdery scent. The tonka plays the main role. It is semi-sweet and powdery - sligtly spicy, sligtly smoky. Perfect for autumn and winter. It's sensual and alluring, but comforting at the same time. Great longevity, medium sillage. Gentle enough to wear in the office.

The quality feels very high for the price. If you like powdery-woody scents I think it is a safe blind buy.

Aromaniacy

I purchased this recently. I feel it is best worn in summer nights and autumn/winter mornings. I love the scent, I can't feel the vanilla at all, but more like a sandalwood peppery scent. I feel it has a similar philosophy like estee Lauder sensuous, as in woody ambery, not sweet but not bitter or floral.
It can be worn by young women and older as well.
The negatives though is that I can't say it lasts a lot on my skin or clothes, I can only smell it up to two hours. I want to test it when the temperatures fall down, whether it will last or not.
The scent however is lovely, can be worn eastily on workplace, and even though I can't smell it quite a lot after a while, perhaps I will spray even more since it has a huge value for money. Most probably I will repurchase it.
Edit (almost two years after): I have tried this on all occasions, sprayed way too much on me and had a faint smell that perhaps could be detected up to 3 hours tops. Doesn't last on clothes either. While I really like the way it smells, I won't repurchase it.

Lalique is a great perfume house. Satine is a nice, soft, semi-sweet floral-vanilla scent.
The most dominant notes are definitely vanilla and tonka bean with some gardenia and heliotrope, while sandalwood dries the composition in the end.
Good choice for a warm autumn day, but can be worn in any season. More of an everyday scent when you want to wear something pleasant, yet it's not unique enough for a special occasion IMO.
It is not a powerhouse and is a bit too simple for my taste. (Well, it still has much more personality than any recent designer scents.)

Fragaddict123

Nice vanilla feminine fragrance
I like it and it’s not too feminine for my taste
Last for a good while
Incredible quality as usual from Lalique
Soothing all the way
And linear as well

Ferra_Verto

Underrated gem; smooth and creamy vanilla and tonka with a sweet sandalwood balanced by a lightly spicy pink pepper and vetiver. Heliotrope lends a soft prettiness. Powdery with a special depth that doesn't leave you wanting more. Persistent too, I get at least 8 hrs when sprayed on clothes. Shares some similarity with Mon Guerlain EDT, but considerably creamier. Shines in cold weather, but I think it would work in warmer weather too.

Nanners88

This was a blind buy. To me I mostly get the vetiver and vanilla out of this. I am not the biggest fan of the opening because I have to agree that it starts off smelling like a Calvin klein perfume (I am forgetting the name). I think that this is a unisex perfume. It isn't a soft one for the first 20-30 mins but then the flower and vetiver start to calm down and the vanilla starts to come out more. It isn't an overly sweet vanilla. All in all I do enjoy this fragrance but I think this baby will shine more in the cooler months.

Perfumeloverx2021

I bought this based on the notes and reviews. Did I get something different than everyone else? The Satine I have received doesn't last one second after being sprayed out of the bottle. I sprayed like 20-30 times and still it disappeared in air. I couldn't smell it after a minute or so. I bought this as a substitute for armani code satin , as that's been discontinued. Can anyone please recommend a dupe of armani code satin?

2lipsinHolland

For me this is a fuzzy powdery vetiver, heliptrope and pink pepper cloud of deliciousness. More woody than vanilla. The floral notes I cannot pick out individually but they do contribute a sweetness and a brightness that is not gourmand. I love it. Those of you looking for a lot of vanilla or baby powder will probably not find it here. The wood notes can have a slight medicinal edge - I love that but not everyone does.

violet violin

I am familiar with the scent of all of the notes in this fragrance, yet I can’t detect any of them. The only thing I do detect is the pink pepper which I generally dislike, but I’ll try a fragrance that contains it because the pepper tends to fade fast on my skin. It does fade on me, but leaves behind....what? It’s just sort of a dirty, musky, semi sweet thing that will not scrub off no matter how I try. I really never get headaches or nausea from scent but this did both to me.
I should have loved this scent as most of the notes are loves for me. I don’t get it!
This was a very unsuccessful blind buy for me.
ETA: This is extraordinarily similar to Kenzo Amour. That was another one that I thought I would absolutely love and when I tried it I sadly really disliked it. It smelled so familiar but I couldn’t place it. Then it came to me... it was like Satine. They could be dupes for each other. Amour is just a tiny bit less “dirty”. So if you like Amour, you’ll like this. If not... stay far away from Satine. They are almost identical.

tessture

Yes, this is a powdery sweet makeup scent, but it's not one of the ones I love. There are floral notes with a bit of an edge to keep it from being suffocating, and it doesn’t smell like baby powder, but it does smell sort of sweetly precious, which isn’t my thing at all and could be…aging…at my age. Not that this smells like a perfume favored by older women; it’s actually very little-girly. Definitely for the pink-and-white crowd. Sooooo not my thing, even though I really do like the vintage dressing-table type of scents.

Chloerich92

I’m not going to sugar coat this review, I blind bought this after reading so many positive things about this fragrance. All of the note are exactly what I tend to lean for, The initial opening was rather unpleasant... i wasn’t getting any of the tonka or vanilla. Just lots and lots of patchouli, normally I love patchouli but it was very very in your face. As it started to dry down the fragrance got more bearable but still I just didn’t get what everyone was saying. I have been wearing this 3 hours now & FINALLY! Sweet, powdery, smooth, classy & confident 😍 I will say this probably won’t be for everyone... definitely more of a mature scent. I hope this helps someone, just give the fragrance time to settle & dry down properly before making any quick opinions like myself.

dimitrowa.s

First spray is quite peppery - that would be the tonka bean. As it fades out, it gets a lot creamier, light heliotrope and probably iris. I also voted that Satine reminds me of Mon Guerlain. For me it's the vanilla-sandalwood combo that is similar. I'm happy that I don't get the lavender in Mon Guerlain which is the dealbreaker for me. Drydown is even creamier and also powdery - and I like it even more!

middle25

This is one of my favorites......opening with a little pepper and then creamy, powdery heliotrope, tonka, and vanilla, with some earthiness in the bottom. Satine is feminine, rich, and warm on my skin. It never veers into soapiness for me, which is good. Sillage and longevity are both moderate and I'd wear it any time of year, during the day or at night for bedtime. I find it alluring, soft but not weak. Similar to La Mia Perla but stronger than the skin scent that La Mia Perla is for me. This projects a little more yet it is still subtle. Comfy and sweet. One of the better heliotrope/vanilla fragrances I've smelled - just beautiful. I also love the art deco style bottle and how it fits in my hand.

Madyana

Sweet and wooden, beautiful base scent and really great for layering.
Gives to sweet scents a wooden base, without covering the notes of the original scent. For dry scents, on the other hand, get the appropriate sweetness without the wooden notes obscuring the original scent. The powderiness increases durability, without going soapy at any point.
An excellent gift, there is nothing annoying here, I think. Beautyful Lalique💕

pttk1981

Lalique never disappoints me. I was not sure about that one to be honest, but I gave it a try. Satine is very sweet on me, very warm, I feel comfortable when I'm wearing it and I get a lot of compliments, too.

LadyIva

Satine is an okay fragrance, just not for me. Too much sugary vanilla. I was instantly reminded of YSL Manifesto L'Elixir - their scent pyramids are somewhat different, but the olfactive experience is almost exactly the same: sweet balsamic vanilla, powdery heliotrope and jasmine, offset by something herbal. I don't know who copied whom, because both Satine and Manifesto L'Elixir were launched in the same year (2013). Weird.

Sade800

A very strong soapy/herbally vanilla fragrance. The dry is nice however the opening is too aggressive for me. It reminds me of Clinique Aromatics. I prefer Alyssa Ashley Vanilla

kkaattjjeess

I opened a forum topic asking for "warm-woody-balsamic" perfume recommendations, and this popped up a few times (thanks to everybody who recommeded it), it was even compared to Mon Guerlain (I was proper sold at that time) so it being so cheap, I went for it straight away.

It is indeed a great scent, so comforting, warm and balsamic, it's not overly powdery to me, especially not in that makeup-y way, so would disagree with the commenter below. Very pleasant, warm, cozy, just what I wanted. I still prefer my Guerlain but this is absolutely lovely, and sooo affordable.

Queen of torts

Soft, powdery, makeup compact vibes.

Schattenburg

To me it falls into the French boudoir group of fragrances.
It opened too heavily and harshly for me the first time I tried it - I thought another very French perfume similar to the heavier fragrance of the Guerlain range. I did not get any of the pepper or other notes.
But it developed into a nice sweet powdery scent. It strongly reminds of Mon Guerlain. It almost feels like Mon Guerlain is a sanitised version of Satine - this fragrance still has a complexity and richness, it feels less clinical than Mon Guerlain.
Sadly it does not last as long as the initial richness would indicate.

mellyv1973

My skin brings out all the pink pepper from this perfume. For me it’s a linear pink pepper and vanilla fragrance. It’s a pretty, soft skin scent. Nice for daytime/spring weather.

hfigures

I missed the opening if there was one and it's only been about 30 minutes. On me it's a barely there skin scent.

Jana711xx

The only perfume that is heavy on vetiver that I love and the only Lalique that I have never grown tired of before finishing the bottle. I have repurchased it several times over the years and always get compliments. As others have said the price tag is no reflection on the quality of this perfume. My favourite fragrance for autumn and winter

flowers-in-the-springtime

This is probably one of the most underrated scents that you will ever purchase and the price tag is not indicative of the quality and loveliness of the perfume.
Like most people, I had never heard of Satine before it was gifted to me by a longstanding friend on Fragrantica.
First spritz, sweet, woody, delicate, warm, comforting and feminine,
Settling down to a warm, creamy, soft vanilla with a touch of powder. The woodsy sweetness is still there.
Base notes are a faint powdery vanilla with the sweetness still intact.
This is simply lovely on a warm sunny day in spring, but equally will work well when the weather turns a little cooler in the autumn. It leans strongly to the feminine, but can be worn with style by a man as well. (Hubby wears Paul Smith Rose and it's amazing on him).
The silage is very good because I always get asked what I am wearing, longevity is average on my thin and dry skin, which doesn't hold onto perfume very well whatever it is. On me I get about 4 hours, but I suspect it will last longer on a less dry and more 'normal' skin.
Fabulousness is 15/10 for me!

Nyrahe

It is strongly reminding me of something else but I can't put my finger on it... I definitelly smelled a hint of Avantgarde - the men's cologne from Lanvin... It radiates a similar vibe to me. It is very warm, comforting vanilla scent, little bit "dusty", but at the same time very rich, creamy. Like a warm blanket in an apartment of sophisticated, elegant woman. I don't love it, but like it tho, but I can imagine wearing this, it' very nice and inviting fragrance.

jennylovesjohnny

Satine is a spicy, very dry vanilla that reminds me a lot of what I remember of the original ysl nu.

Its dryness and spiciness almost tips it to the masculine side, which I think gives character and stops it from being young girly or sweet or cloying.

It’s sexy and unique, I’ve not smelt anything like it in decades... which shocked me, because I was expecting it to be a cheap generic vanilla based on reviews below.

A strong like from me, might even turn into a love after a few more wears. Excellent price point and beautiful old world bottle.

Mon Guerlain

Perfumedsecrets

It's a boudoir vanity type of perfume that's soft pink, satin, and powder. I can see this as a snuggle perfume or one for intimacy. Tonka and vanilla are the main players with the powdery heliotrope and some patchouli. I don't smell Mon Guerlain, but this was made years before that one. You can get a big bottle for less than $25, which is a steal because it used to sell for $145 at Neiman Marcus. The bottle isn't my favorite from Lalique (it's not as heavy as their other bottles and scratches easily), but the spray nozzle is very good for a mist of fragrance.

Seaworthy

First spray I get a big dose of sweet, very gourmand. I smell the heliotrope and pink pepper gives this fragrance an interesting twist. Personally I think the jasmin and gardenia blend well together so that I do not discern either but a lovely background fragrance. Beautifully the tonka bean grounds it perfectly. Others have used the word ethereal to describe this fragrance and I totally agree. This is not a loud in your face fragrance, but a very classy, up-scale close to the skin fragrance that is both comforting and up-lifting at the same time. Absolutely gorgeous! Yet another winning fragrance for Lalique and Nathalie Lorson!

SalinasL

I was seriously disappointed with this one when I finally bought it after seeing it recommended over and over again. I even posted it for sale in my local buy-and-sell group. Seeing it compared to La Mia Perla compelled me to try it with a new perspective. Now what previously smelled like actual rubber tires has taken on more of a suede undertone, and the notes I originally expected—semi-sweet vanilla, lipstick and other cosmetics—are detectable. Coming at this hot on the trail of My Name Trussardi, the sweeter floral notes seemed non-existent and only the plastic element was highlighted. Now, prepped by something like La Mia Perla or Kenzo Amour, its nuances can be better appreciated. Not a love by any means, but I can see a place for it now in my collection where Amour used to be.

chicken

Why do I get massive Mon Guerlain vibes hmmm

miagracie

The notes sounded lovely, but on me it's very harsh and almost medicinal and herbal oddly. It reminds me of a honey-lemon cough drop with the sweet citrus notes. I also smell both citrus and something like harsh pine or cedar wood. It's not at all what I hoped for or expected with the notes and I don't like it at all.

Jomima

Eugenia Olesen

The combo of Lalique perfumery and Nathalie Lorson will never disappoint me. Precious juice, surprisingly delicate, but with its own special character. Non-gourmet vanilla, soft tonka bean, creamy sandalwood and pepper, so that all this does not fall into sticky sweet dessert. Patchouli seems to be present, but imperceptible. All together - this is a silky, slightly powdery, pleasant scent. Not loud or heavy. Wraps around you as a thin satin blouse.

feedelaforet

Just received a sample and at first whiff it reminds me a bit of Dior Addict. It starts with a powdery, shy vanilla. As it starts developping, I get a nice sandalwood and red pepper. The powder stays there till the end.
I have the little vial by me, on the desk. I like to apply while working. If Fifi Chachnil had a shy powdery , not so playful but still charming and sweet mother, it would be Satine by Lalique.
This is what I would wear when going lingerie shopping :-)

MixedTastes

Creamy, lightly powdery, sweet. If you like vanilla, tonka, sandalwood and heliotrope (all dreamy notes for me) it’s a winner. A charming, comforting, feminine elixir. Lovely.

stopandsmellflowers

Very feminine and sweet, gentle vanilla. At first sniff (initial test on skin because the sample vial from the company has a weird applicator cap thing going on), nothing but sandalwood and pepper, then quickly transforms into sweet white floral vanilla. What is probably the tonka bean grows in strength after that and the scent becomes a sweet vanilla tonka. The scent almost has a powdery characteristic to it. This is a very pleasant woman's scent but I'd caution against over applying it or wearing it in an office, as it is strong (to me). While it is a cheap fragrance, it is well-formulated enough that it doesn't smell trashy.

I have two sample vial of this (with the weird filter dropper tops fml) and I could definitely see myself getting a full size after finishing the samples, though it will probably take a while to get through them as it's warm season while writing this and the fragrance is more of a cool season type. It would be so easy to purchase a full size, too, as it isn't expensive. Great scent that my SO can't get enough of on me!

Coffee_Girl

I blind bought this based on the very few negative reviews for this perfume.

I love cheap fragrances but sometimes the smell reflects the price. This one really smells cheap to me, it is both attractive while being a bit repulsive. For me a very well done cheapie is 5th Ave/CK beauty etc...this one doesn't come near that in terms of quality. It is a fun fragrance, probably something i'll give to a pre teen as their first perfume or use as bathroom spray.

Edit: I learned that this is great for layering under another fragrance for that extra vanilla /powder element! I use this with my favorite powder scents and it gives a powerful and seductive smell that lasts. By itself the perfume is way too synthetic but combine with something else and that chemical note is masked.

greenbluegray

Reminds me of the musk style of the new perfume company Sylvaine Delacourte, perhaps her Dovana or Vahina? Maybe that is how I noticed this fragrance, as a comparison. Powdery, musky, creamy, vanillic, woodsy. I don't notice the patchouli. Maybe just a teensy bit of incense, with a slight but improved nod to Paco Rabanne Olympea.

I'd be tempted to get a bottle if I stumbled on a cheap price. I am always a sucker for tonka. I only have a tiny sample about the size of a quarter, so cute!

Seducianne

Lovely perfume! This one is straight up unsweetened vanilla to my nose, very pleasant with a soft trail, but excellent longevity! For reference, I applied Montale Attar to one wrist and Satine on the other and I could smell them both at a similar intensity after several hourse. Better performance than many other vanillas out there, for a better price tag!

LisIrishFleur

I see the references to Givenchy L'Ange Noir.
This parfume is REALLY, REALLY,NICE.The bottle is STUNNING.
You can buy it online for as steal.
Natural Vanilla,Creamy, and Lightly Floral Etherieal Perfume. Perfect for winter.

PricklyAndHot

Uncatchy gourmand fragrance.

Tigi

Very simply, to me Lalique Satine smells like Mon Guerlain without the lavender, it's very light, sweet, and lovely.
Soft sillage and projection, moderate longevity. If you like Tonka bean and vanilla, chances are you'll really enjoy this scent too.

Dislike it and vote the comparison away all you like...
Satine is like Mon Guerlain without lavender.

kati77

Tonka and vanilia scent. So sweet.
For my nose does not have a nice unique character. This perfume has a great longevity. Thats the best of it. Scent itself is very common, as many others.

UnearthlyApothecary

Satine is very enticing for some reason, it really does remind one of L’ange Noir but much softer, sweeter, more feminine. Satine is no powerhouse but I can’t stop sniffing my arm, this will be one of those that will draw people in closer for another whiff. This is the sweet version of a skin scent. Like a spun sugar powder puff. Love it! While the silage is soft it went strong for about 6 hours and I can still smell it after 10 hours!

demonix

As for me, t goes in one direction with Terres Aromatiques, Zadig&Voltare This is Him in a much feminine sweet powdery way... Also first sprays reminded me of Mugler Pure Malt.

musenkata

I feel this like a delicious 'bubble gum' in a good way.
Very gentle, sweet, lovely,sexy, romantic.
I wish to be more powerful.

chimidoro

I've got three bottles of this and they all smell absolutely totally completely entirely different.
One smells like deep, dark spicy freeze-dried blackcurrant, one smells like strawberries dipped in toffee and sprinkled with cinnamon, and the other smells like spiced vanilla, benzoin and cedarwood.
One might conclude that reviews for this scent are pretty redundant...
I will say, however, that they're all powdery/sweet/creamy/woody in character, give or take berries, so if you like that sort of thing you might want to give this a try. Probably unsuited to being a signature scent because you have no guarantee what you're going to get next time. "Life is like a box of chocolates..." etc...

PricklyAndHot

Catchy notes pyramide and not catchy fragrance.

perfumes_addict

Annoying stuff. Because of the (probably) large amount of pink pepper that was used for this fragrance, it is the only thing that I can smell. I can't bear it. It smells really cheap, like Chinese plastic dolls and it lasts about an hour or two. Fortunately, because it would be too much to smell this stuff all day

kristamb

This wasn't a favorite of mine. I was hoping for a softer scent, maybe based on some reviews and also based on the notes and the pretty, simple looking pastel bottle. This perfume is similar to YSL Cinema for me, evoking the same "dry heat / cozy sweater" vibe I get from Cinema...not sure how else to describe it! The scent of a hot sweater being pulled out of the dryer in the winter...this is definitely a more winter scent for me, for that reason. This scent also initially reminded me of Tommy Bahama's "for her" perfume, due to the thick / powdery burst I smell at first spray. But I won't be purchasing a full bottle. It is just sharper than I was hoping for, maybe due to the pepper and patchouli...vanilla doesn't really stand out for me, either. My experience, it lasted 4+ hours on my skin.

atiet97

On me the top are absolutely full of heliotrope & pink pepper. Powdery yet spicy. A quite weird combo in a way, but works well. Then the patchouli kicks in the mid stage. While vanilla and the almost balsamic tonka are very distinct and dominating towards the end.

Many people said this is similar to Oriflame - Pretty Swan and Sonia Rykiel - Sonia Rykel & fortunately I have both of them. For me Pretty Swan is more focused on the powdery aspect with a different opening, which is burst of citruses followed by powdery notes in the background. While Satine is leaning towards Sonia Rykiel with their vanilla & tonka combo.

kingdomforaperfume

hmm.... vanilla and a tiny bit of sweat... The ad is perfect, for such glamorous occasions as shown in the video, it would be perfect, look no more, you will impress him, you will impress all... so I would say, the perfume is lovely but not for everyday wear, it might accentuate the "sweat" element (i swear I smell sweat in it, like talcum powder gone sweaty, a shirt worn a second too long). Also, it asks for colder weather and a lifestyle I have maybe twice a year, at different balls I get to go.. :)

Honestly, girls, this is a too special perfume to pass, get your grandma to buy it for you even if it sits on your dressing table for most of the year. Then, one time... WHAM! :)

tiababy

Is this anything like Lalique Le Parfum?

bronstein

Sweet, nice, a bit powdery, good quality. Not too original, but decently crafted.

Fortunately I can't detect any menthol or much pink pepper here
Satin is a very fluffy combination of powdery vanilla, tones of tonka, light patchouli, creamy florals and subtle woods and I like it a lot
I adore heliotrope and gardenia and they're noticeable here but not enough to make this a real floral scent.satine is very powdery but not in the form of classic iris, rose powder.i it's a modern powdery scent with a masculine edge(thanks to tonka and creamy woodsy notes...I can also pick up a hint of lavender!!)but this masculine vibe doesn't interfere it's feminine softness
Satine is like fluffy clouds of warm, cozy powder that envelopes you smoothly and creamy florals and sandalwood make it even more subtle and cuddly
It has a vanilla sweetness but Tonka and woody notes balance it and make it far from childish vanilla scents.all in all It's not a real sweet scent in my book
Longevity is 4,5 hours on my skin and sillage is moderate.it's a soft scent but doesn't make me image satine(If satine had a scent it would smell totally different in my imaginations) it's more like a cashmere sweater
I love to layer it with my Armani Lei,it adds the warmth Armani lei lacks) and I see it better for fall than spring. definitely going to buy
Recommended to givenchy Dahlia noir edp,Valentino Poudre, Valentino myrrh,Lolita Lempicka,Chloe Love,Estee Lauder Modern Muse nuit and Mon Guerlain lovers

Received it in a swap and after wearing it for a while now I'm sure that I like it,a lot.Lalique has turned to one of my favourite brands as it's perfumes have a unique character of their one,are well blended, even complex yet easy to wear.eventhough Le Parfum,Living,Satine and Perles all have some sort of masculinity,I enjoy them alot
Satine is a comforting also sophisticated wam creamy, powdery scent.tonka, heliotrope, vanilla and sandalwood are very noticeable in it

A soft oriental perfume. For me, definitely not for everyday. On my skin lasts 8-10 hours. I tried to wear it and to like it, but its not for me... I do think it is a beautiful perfume, but for some reason i don't feel comfortable in my skin when I wear it. I definitely recommend trying it out a couple of times before you buy the actual big bottle.

Madrona

I was drawn in by the vanilla, tonka, sandalwood, heliotrope, patchouli, gardenia, vetiver and jasmine as that sounds like the type of composition that would instantly qualify as a love in my book. However, the one undesired note to me - pink pepper - somehow becomes loud and proud on my skin, or maybe it is because I dislike it so much that it becomes so prominent. Either way, I can't bring myself to classify this as more than a like.

HeidiLynn

A very sheer, light patchouli. There was a light sweet vanilla quality as well but mostly the patch. I did get a medicinal note at first blush, so I can understand the 'menthol' that some perceive but that faded quickly. No heliotrope, no sandalwood. Mostly just patchouli, but more crisp and clean than most versions. Nice but not hugely unique or memorable. Sillage modest. Longevity ~5 hours.

PinkRainbow

Pretty and light. A strong note of vanilla. Not unusual, but very pretty.

shauna.parra

Boudoir dresser table perfume. Soft, powdery, silky, smooth; like a piece of satin draped over your legs. It's sexy and drives my Stephen wild! This is probably not as sexy as a pheromone but it's meant to evoke a delicate satin nightie on ivory skin. First of all I love the bottle! The design is very well made; it's glass and it has pink colored liquid. The scent starts off with a floral aroma at the first spritz. Little powdery florals of jasmine, gardenia and heliotrope. This has a sweet floral air and it's easy to wear even if you're not into florals. There's vanilla and Tonka which gives it a powdery and sweet but creamy base. I couldn't detect some of the other notes but it does seem like there's a hint of wood. It's mostly vanilla which can be enough to support any top and middle notes. This scent is sweet and soft, powdery and like a little whisper, a sexy caress, a bedroom voice inviting you to lay in bed next to her. I wish Victoria Secret perfumes could smell like this. Even though it's simple it has a rich and classy vibe. I really love this perfume. I wear it during sex and it always produces bliss.

sabaalavi

my bf bought it for me and one week later we broke up.i hate satin

genny17

You know what I get that menthol note to, when kept me from really enjoying Satine...I am not sure where it comes from. Maybe the vetiver !? Other websites mention balsam wood in Satine, which would have a weird vibe...
Just didnt work for me !!

dorothea333

Hi, could anyone explain to me what the mentol comes from, can it be the patchouli, that creates this note? Or is it due to something else? I can even taste it. I wanted so badly to love it because of the lovely bottle, and if the mentol wasn't so heavy to me, it would be quite good.
I would really like to understand this :-)

KarlekLila

Satine is indeed satin on the skin! It is gorgeously soft, powdery and feminine. As with all Lalique fragrances it is well blended. Powdery heliotrope, tonka bean and vanilla stand out the most with the occassional spicy waft of pink pepper. Though the juice is sweet it isn't a sugary, edible vanillic fragrance. Instead, it is a delicate caress, rather like a soft, cashmere sweater on a cold winter's night. I can see myself wearing this in the winter or on summer nights after sunset with a cool breeze to keep its powderiness from being suffocating.

The sillage is enormous! One or two sprays is all I need to be noticed; anymore than that becomes a powder bomb. I spray it on in the morning to find myself pleasantly surrounded by a soft cloud of femininity that lasts all day and well into the evening. I've worn this beauty on three separate occassions since sweet Fragrantican, Birsen gifted me a bottle in a swap. Every time I've worn Satine I've received glowing compliments. It doesn't get any better that!

arrokaj

i got it days before.nice smell but it seems to me that doesn't last long

pchmad

Overwhelming vanilla crowned by spices, so sweet. Long lasting. Not bad fragance but not my favorite, I use it just for the nights out, when I'm in the mood. I can tell that WOW people will NOTICE you , in a good or bad way depending of their taste.

Southern Blonde

Love Lalique. It was a gift from a gentleman who admires my work. It came in a jewelry case and contained a necklace. The glass bottle is gorgeous! And its a pink liquid. I love to collect pink perfumes. This is a soft, sweet vanilla with floral scent. Jasmine, gardenia and heliotrope. Romantic and girly. It has a short life and its a pretty simple fragrance but it's heavenly. I'm not sure yet if I'll wear this on my wedding day. I have had it for about 2 months now but haven't been using it much. Some of the other reviewers are saying it's similar to Jessica Parker's Lovely or that it's a seductive boudoir scent for lingerie but I don't see it this way. Although it is sexy, it's not a throw me on the bed wild and sexual kind of scent. It's a tame and feminine kind of sexy, a woman who has beautifully decorated dresser tables with perfumes a woman who loves flowers and has a sweet disposition. Classy.

Gigi The Fashionista

For something light, inoffensive, sits on my skin type of fragrance this does the trick. I bought it because I love the heliotrope although it's not a big player. Gardenia is stronger here but it's also not that strong. Every note here is soft, soft flowers, soft sandalwood, soft vanilla which is why they have appropriately named it Satin, it wears like a satin lingerie you've wearing to bed. And I do wear this bed, or for the day time when I don't want my perfume to come off as too strong. I have those days too. An any time morning noon or night fragrance winter spring summer or fall. It's powdery, and very sweet. I bought this for my sister as a Christmas gift. She loves vanilla and soft perfumes. If you're a fan of fragrances like Sarah Jessica Parker's Lovely or Vivienne Westwood Boudoir this is totally for you. It's beautiful but I see this as a seductive lingerie boudoir scent. It comes off as very very sexy. Wears like one of the Victoria Secret Angel fragrances. I spritz it on for bed and anything that happens there. ...including sleep LOL

ninaherma

Long lasting perfume. Smooth and sophisticated.

Satine is a sleepy vanilla. On a spectrum of childlike to mature vanillas, say Bon Bons Sweet Milk to Yves Rocher Vanille Noir, Satine is somewhere in the middle. It is sweet without being cavity inducing.

Very pleasant to wear. I am a fan of balmy vanillas and Satine does not disappoint!.

ZahraFarzadfar

Nothing special :(
More spicy than vanilla...

margarita.angelova

Definitely a wintertime one.
A perfume to snuggle into, so warm and smooth. It's spicy and rich and is a great choice for a Christmas gift.

miss honeysuckle

Satine is a soft and powdery little dream of vanilla and tonka.
Tender, delicate and feathery like a tutu.
I like sweet heliotrope; sandalwood and patchouly makes it so mysterious.
Wearable all day long, every season is satine-season.

A fluffy dream, girlish as well as ladylike - a new member in my collection.

ellina1984

LadiesRed has given a beautiful description, below - "So sweet and soft like a candy laced fluffy bedroom slipper". Yes, indeed!

First sniff, as soon as it's sprayed, it really reminded me of Flowerbomb. Then it becomes significantly different. The pink pepper comes through as a spicy veil, and the vanilla and tonka are very prominent. Sweet it is. But as time progresses, the patchouli comes forth, and together with the spice, they temper the sweetness. Some kind of wood is also traceable. No gardenia to my nose (good thing, too!).

Lalique Satine somehow melts into the skin, a quality I love. It's a quiet scent, maybe even skin scent. This is currently the only sweet scent I own, so you know it's something special. Comforting and fluffy, it's a great addition to my wardrobe.

RosieRachel

Satine is for vanilla lovers only and I should know better... I'm always a sucker for sophisticated and feminine vanilla-based fragrances, and it's just a pity that they're always rubbish on my skin! On me, this was a linear and synthetic vanilla scent, that was also fresh, slightly sweet and a bit powdery. Very soft sillage; lasts for about 3 hours.

lesgalaxies

Another lucky blind buy weeeeeeee!

At first spray I wasn't sure this was what I wanted, just seemed overly sweet. Ahhhh but then it aired out a bit and when I went back for a sniff, I found a spicy, fluffy pink cloud of YUM.

Very soft but has the perfect amount of spice and sweetness~ don't feel like I'm getting knocked out by the patchouli, or any note for that matter. The notes all seems to compliment each other and create something quite harmonic.

Little fizzy bites of pink pepper sit longer on the skin than I expected, vanilla/tonka/sandalwood combo does a very nice job of not overpowering one another. Slightly smoky, balmy, with a smooth sweetness that just hovers on my skin like a silk scarf or perhaps something satin ;p

A rich scent but not heavy, this has definite character but doesn't reach too far out there and try to be something it's not. Very well done, Lalique!

seekritdude

this reminds me so much of guess seductive for men its ridiculous. whatever the case I mean it smells good. Smells like guess seductive and thats honestly one of my best compliment getters including niche all that. Just much more thick. Smells nice, I would wear this myself even as a man, but I already have so many sweet fragrances wouldnt be much point.

miZZpuRRfect

@mahagam, the don t look the same neither. Le parfum is a heavy square bottle with red ribon and square black top, juice completaly different as well.

Satinee is light airy sweet vanilla heliotrop tonka mix, and just nice and loveable daytime fume, while le parfum is heavy thick and opulent for the seductrice at night. Love them both.

Hagakure

Hello Mahgam, just to reply to your question: I do have Le Perfum and I've just tried Satin: they are totally different, for me no single note in Satin bears similarity to LP, even vanilla theme was composed in very individual manner for both of them.

mahgam

I just bought it and I fell in love with the vanilla Tonka bean mixed with woody notes. Very delicate and soft. Somehow I expected La vie eat belle to smell like this and became disappointed. It starts very oriental woody vanilla then suddenly becomes a chypre. I absolutely love it.
Anybody there knows if this perfume is similar to lalique le perfume lalique?
they look the same according to ingeredients.

ScarlettX

Great, tender oriental scent. I love the tonka bean mixed with vanilla in it.
It seems so luxurious and sophisticated.
Expensive smelling, sweet and balsamic fragrance, that makes me think of great quality and fulfilling atmosphere.

anna.glowacka

As devoted vanilla lover i couldn't wait to try it. Finally i got a chance and i must admit the scent is how i imagined it would be. Cozy, buttery vanilla. Unfortunately when it reached dry down i changed my mind - there's some plastic note showing. This makes Satine artificial to my nose. It's definitely skin scent, i get almost no sillage, as long as it lasted (about 3 hours) it stayed very close. If you like soft, romantic scents but without manifesting your presence i would recommend it to try.

Rotorwife

This was a blind buy and I have to say that I LOVE this perfume. It has such a warm, buttery, cozy scent that I can't get enough of. The bottle is nice but nothing too fancy...very Lalique. The scent lingers on me for hours and has moderate sillage. I would agree with some of the other users that said this perfume could be worn any time but I think it's best suited for nighttime (preferably with company if you get my drift).

auroramaria

Satine is a very soft Oriental it's very lovely yet a bit too light for me.
I have a sample so that's what I have on today.
I smell gardenia and the sweetness of heliotrope when first spritzed then after a few minutes it's sweet from
vanilla and gets playful and peppery.
A tame patchouly and a bit of sandalwood is what I find on my skin after a couple of hours and that's it really.
Longevity is poor sillage is moderate.
Suitable for daywear and office safe
I like it but it stays too close to skin for me to warrant a purchase

nikoleta1

Yes, I don't know who writes all these descriptions and grouping. It is very soft intimate scent for body, Satine is a right name. Notes little synthetic, but dry into soft powdery with a touch of floral, pleasant, but not outstanding.

Raquel73

Tonka bean ,vanilla and a few pepper. In the drydown sweet patchouli. It is very soft and longevity moderate.I think that it is chipre not oriental-woody.Very good for day,in the night will be very soft.

Mooniq

Satine is a true beauty. Warm, soft Tonka Vanilla Heliotrope Sandalwood Jasmin mix. Elegant and womanish. Reminds me of Agent Provocateur Petale Noir.

Satine är underbar. Varm, mjuk Tonka Vanilj Heliotrop Sandelträ Jasmin mix. Elegant och kvinnlig. Påminner om Agent Provocateur Petale Noir.

LittleMsCharming

Honey roasted chestnuts....and a to-die-for vanilla-tonka dry down, for which, unfortunately you have to wait quite a bit. The opening is a bit sharp and synthetic on my skin. Overall, to give the right impression of the scent, the bottle should have been a soft organic autumnal creation the color of frosted amber.

brightstar

The opening it's pure alcohol and I can't smell a single note. Then there's vanilla and powder. It's a very light scent, cyphre, I don't know why it's listed under the oriental woody fragrances. It's just as the name says, it's very fine and elegant. It lasts less than an hour. To me it's similar to Deep Red by Hugo Boss, only more innocent.

muneerah

Is any one smell viex or menthol in satine??? Or it's just my nose ..

Arlene-Beatrix

Very powdery on my skin, and later also strongly balsamic. I thought it would be delicate & romantic fragrance, but it is not! Lalique has really great bottles, little pieces of art, but unfortunately I have just discovered that in case of Lalique, 'bottle looks' does not say a word about fragrance. Usually, looking at a bottle and a name, you can predict what fragrance is like. In Lalique fragrance family, you can't.
Update: I gave it another try, but unfortunately got the same result. Too spicy, too much orient, nothing can be done about that!

lyciumchld

I picked this up blind for $20 at Marshall's, and I've got to say it's about the most successful blind purchase I've ever made. Satine is far and away worth full retail, let alone what I paid for it! It lasts many hours on the skin, projecting within arm's length initially, but settling into a softer 'skin' scent in later hours.

I can see where comparisons between Satine and Flowerbomb might arise - both fragrances are quite floral, but so well-blended that the resulting scent is sweet and creamy. However, the similarities stop there. Whereas Flowerbomb envelops the wearer in a deep sweetness, Satine explores the powdery nuances of creamy florals, and is slightly spicy. Vanilla is present, but understated. It is definitely not as sweet as others with similar openings, including Flowerbomb and LVEB. Later stages of the dry-down present a softly spicy, somewhat deeper wood composition, balanced with just the slightest hint of sweet florals.

Satine is suitable for day wear, but I experience it more as moonlight and satin sheets, dusting body powder, garters, white flowers, and a cool breeze. In my opinion, Satine is what Midnight in Paris would have smelled like if there had been a female version (MIP is pretty unisex anyway, but it has an edge to it that Satine does not). Love, love, love!

nefe

Does it last ? I have a small sample of it but I'm not sure...I used to wear trussardi donna but I don't know if i want to change it ,i am confused , please any help?

Rizaldo

UNIQUE!!!!!!!!!

tommy_girl

the name matches the perfume perfectly.it's a peaceful modest sweet perfume with a unique aroma.it's very light and inoffensive.maybe suitable for day wear during cold winter days.
it's not exactly the most provocative fragrance out there and it's not very feminine.I can even call it unisex, despite the fact it's very sweet.whatever it is,it is very cozy, kind of skin perfume.
lately I've found myself liking most of lalique perfume.but I can't find a perfume I like enough to buy.

Diola

nice!!!! nothing else....

MademoiselleMaya

It's beautiful and unique, soft, fluffy, warm, pleasant, sweet but not overwhelming. Perfect for fall and winter. Great longevity: 10+ hours on me, it's rather close to the skin but it reminds you about its presence every now and then. The more I wear it, the more I like it. Well done!

LadiesRed

So sweet and soft like a candy laced fluffy bedroom slipper ;)

zucchera

This perfume has a lovely smell but it's so light on me, at the first smell I thought it will last long. I got really disappointed when it didn't last for more than one hour on me. To bad, I was sooo close to buy it and I'm really happy I didn't.

EstherR

goos smell and durable for long hours. i wore it from 11:00 until evening with
35 ° C heat and was able to smell it! !

Iris_it

This perfume is amazingly light on my skin and its longevity is so poor . The Crystal bottle of Satine costs 1200 € , the 50 ml plain glass EdP bottle 76 € .

I would not spend 76 cents on this fragrance because I love ( good ) perfumes and this is not very different from plain water on my skin .

I have to say that I enjoy strong perfumes , so Satine is not for me . I am a fragrance woman , not a no fragrance one :-)

This could be even tolerated into no-smell offices .

Sorry for its lovers , I belong to Poison , Byzance , Coco , Oh la la generation :-)

antonpan

Lalique Satine is a rare example of the fragrance where modernity meets sophisticateness. It starts extremelly sweet vanilla in the way of Lancome La Vie est Belle, though soon tonka beans begin to lead the play. Tonka bean here is edgy, a bit masculine. Finally the scent becomes super powdery, similar to Indian talcum powder from my childhood. The longevity is extra ordinary.

Finally we have a new view on a powdery fragrance, different from Kenzo Flower or, for example, irisy Guerlain Shalimar Parfum Initial. I do appreciate this piece of art from Lalique and Natalie Lorson.

genny17

As a typical Lalique it starts off with a peppery burst, then the heliotrope follows closely, I admit I am not too crazy about the top notes , a bit too woodsy for my taste, it is real similar to my nose to Guerlain Initial, the drydown gets sweeter, overall I don't find it to be a spring fragrance, but can see myself enjoying its character more in winter. Nonetheless it isn't heady, the tonka opens up in the base, which becomes smooth and sweet.
I feel the vetiver kinds of spoils the sweet harmony of the scent by bringing a resinous tone to it, but only in the top notes.
The base is more balmy and powdery, much nicer, the longevity is good.
It is a high quality scent, smooth and high class, worth the price tag IMO.

suile

Very gentle skin scent type of fragrance. Has a more chypre quality to me, rather than an oriental. Quite liked it. Very suitable for daily wear to the office, for example. Has a drydown similar to a watered down Dahlia Noir.

Nell

I'm so disappointed in this perfume as good as you put water on you.
It is defiantly not a long lasting perfume . within 10min you harley can smell i have perfume on.
