Of all the notes listed here, all I got was some sort of Victoria's Secret body mists overripe melons. A hard pass. I guess I'm too old to be smelling this cheap.

Igregister

Soleil Lalique like a sweetly summer morning. It starts with freshness and fruitiness and turns hot and sweaty.

Yalishanxiao

There is something very off-putting to me. I blind bought it because of the beauty bottle. But not a fan of the scent.

SnowIce

I love this. It is very milky, creamy, almondy and peary. Softly courmand , i dont get any coffee or cardamon. Soft and pleasant scent.

Electriclady

What am I missing about this fragrance? It's underwhelming and I've smelled this experience before.
In fact...
I've come back to edit this review because it took me a while to figure it out but I have smelled this before - Noa Cacharel offers a similar experience, but better in my opinion.

selcan093

I am freaking in love with this perfume. On my skin it lasts for 3-4 hours. I can smell all the notes except for fruity and citrus. I don't know why, but this perfume gives me vintage vibes. My dad bought this fragrance for me on my birthday and I am thankful since it is now one of my favorite perfumes. I'd say that at first on the skin it doesn't smell very appealing, but as time passes by it turns into a sweet, nutty aroma which I LOVE.

cflatorrev

I LOOOOOOVE THIS.

IkaIkuw

I'm very confused by this fragrance. The note pyramid suggests something sweet, creamy and fruity. All I get is cardamom, some unspecified citrus, maybe some faint flowers. I really hoped for the sweetness, but I get no milk, caramel and praline. It's not an actively bad scent, just not really my style and not what I expected. It was not expensive, so I'll keep it for the gorgeous bottle, but it won't be getting much use.

Thunderthighs2023

My first lalique and absolute love!Oh my word!! This is the best or one of the best perfumes I own. Very well blended scent. Versatile and can be worn for multiple occasions, day or night and you will smell gorgeous. First scent that I have gotten all the notes as described from the top to the mid. The dry down is heavy on the sandalwood but the praline and the musk still peek through and are distinguishable. I will really enjoy this and can't wait to try soleil vibrant next. This is niche territory quality.
Edit;
How did I forget to mention the bottle? Absolutely breathtakingly beautiful bottle in the shape of the sun. With a charm bracelet as a 'playful addition'. Come on now!

Foureleven

I really wanted to love this sample so I could buy the full bottle, I love beautiful perfume bottles, but will not buy or keep a perfume just because of the bottle if I'm not intrigued by the scent. This is one those cases. It's not good enough even tho the price point is great. Maybe I would buy an empty bottle though! But yea, this is fruity baby lotion. It actually opens nice and exciting, something between casual and fancy. But the dry down is nothing elegant. Smells the opposite of the bottle design. Maybe good if you're young and going to school. Middle school or highschool. It does have something pleasant, but it's just not well rounded and slightly off-putting. Smells like drusgtore body spray. Will spend more time with it and edit this comment if I feel differently overtime.

iris

Starts with a stunning orange juice accord,. Sunblock and oranges, jasmine and toffee latte aftertaste. A shining, vivid polyangular figure of all summer delights at once: nothing less, nothing more. Every time a bit different opening, gorgeous, a crafted equation of sunshine and gourmand.
The main part, though, adds the fruitcake extras, cardamom becomes more obvious, and it starts to sound like a skimmed but fluffier version of Laluque's own Fruits de Mouvement with its dried fruits and the halo of jasmine and orange leftovers. I prefer the beginning.

MamaAnne

Not a review as I left one when it first came out, just a suggestion. Today I was wearing Babycat which I like but today I found it a bit boring so I sprayed Angels Share on top on one arm(wasn't impressed)and this on the other. Wow! I think to make this a stand out gourmand.... especially in winter...it needs a good dose of vanilla. I love it with Babycat but would have liked to have tried it with Vanilla 28 but I don't own it 😂

creepy pasta

The chain design is confusing. Why is it wrapped around in plastic? It seems that it cannot be firmly put on the bottle again after the plastic being torn off. I think it’s the new batch design, the chain on the official poster is embedded on the side of the bottle.

Taryn33

Is this the same vibe as Cartier Le Baiser Du Dragon Parfum?

JasmineSky

Wow these reviews are all over the place, but mostly negative 😂 Soleil has got to be one of my favorite fragrances. It's so delicious to me, very warm and lactonic! I get almond, cardamom, milk, caramel, coffee, musk, and some sandalwood- but nothing floral at all. That jasmine note is not present to my nose, and I'm very sensitive to jasmine. Same with the pear. This is a great fall/winter scent, because it can be a bit overwhelming in warmer weather. But as far as lasting power, it lasts all day on my clothes- a full 7-8 hours.

LoveSmellsss

If you guys don't like this one for the citrus being more prevalent than the praline and coffee. . I'd say go for Lalique Soleil Vibrant. It's more nuttier, more gourmand . I tried Vibrant before this one and I must say I am a little disappointed.

IsobelWren

Smells like a generic floral perfume. I MAYBE smell some mandarin orange and pear but every other note is absent.

jurassic-can't-park

Totally agree with the person who said this smells like a hair salon. And not in a good way.
It is beast mode synthetic pear mixed with perm solution. Not something I want to smell like, unfortunately.

jasmine27

This perfume reminds of summer creams and vitamin C. It's nice, but for me, the project of the bottle is more beautiful than the scent itself.

barbiegirl

Revisiting this one today after a rocky start earlier in the year! So far, so good - it's a cool, sunny October morning. It will be warm enough for my sleeveless top today, but not too hot for jeans (it will be about 80 degrees F). What I'm picking up from the top notes is juicy and bright, and to my nose very sweet in a youthful, pleasant way. When I tried it earlier in the year, it was very warm and humid, as summers are where I live - but this was described as a sunny, summery scent so I ignored the misgivings that the notes gave me, and went right in. Soleil was (predictably) just too much - the fruit and gourmand notes together was immediately overwhelming and hot feeling. It felt like being the 4th kid squeezed into the backseat of the station wagon coming home from the county fair. Or a too-long hug from someone you don't like. I'm learning that with reviewers on Fragrantica living all over the world, the word "summer" means different things to different people depending on where they live! If summers for you are 95 degrees F and 95% humidity, do not touch Soleil until the fall.

But on a bright early October morning, Soleil is nice! I can definitely pick up the brunch / leisurely breakfast vibes, the juicy mandarin. As it's drying down, the caramel and praline are very dominant on me - it's pretty but truly sweet and creamy. I started with one (cautious) spray to one wrist - it provided a little spring in my step, it's a bright and lighthearted fragrance. Half an hour later I added one more spray to the other wrist. Still really nice but I'm stopping there. (My usual is 3-5 sprays.) Will see how this goes as the day warms up.

Soleil has polarizing reviews and I understand why. Go easy on it, and try it on mild weather days - meaning bright and crisp, not too hot, not too cold, but just right, and the youthful, sweet and gourmand features will shine. It's for carefree, happy moods when you're up for anything and not carrying around troubles and doubts.

SuperSueChick

I'm obviously a fan of setting myself up for disappointment.
I'm so annoyed with myself. Fragrances are like an addiction "just one more then I'll stop. I bet this one will be great. It has to be look at the notes, the brand, the comments, THE BOTTLE, etc".

Needless to say, ahhhhhhhhhhhhh!

Sorry had to vent.

Gosh, the notes, the "oh its sweet" comments once again bamboozled me into blind buying.
No. This has to stop.
I don't like it.
I love the bottle, but its a ridiculous price for such an obnoxious fragrance.
If "Cat Lady" had a scent, this would probably be it.
Like when you are headed to the boardroom for yet another meeting, and you have to pass by the accounting department, and there's that quiet, odd, girl wearing the same gray sweater and waste-basket full of tissues. "Um, does she have allergies, or just always has a cold?"
You smile politely but walk a little faster bc there's some odd smell in her corner. Is it sweat? All those dirty tissues, maybe her musky sweater?
Oy vey!
This is not light for summer, nor is it "sweet".
Of course unless your idea of sweet is that dusty dry Christmas Fruit Cake with dates and Nuts, and you're not sure of the "freshness" so you look for an expiration date, but there isn't one bc Ethel from your Nana's Crochet club made it.
Idk what note it is, but its pesky, intrusive, and annoying.
A N D of course it won't come off. Even w/rubbing alcohol that clingy little Soleil Lalique wants to stay for dinner and talk about her health insurance issues whilst coughing all over you.

If I could go back in time and advise you to invest in Google, I would. I can't, so as a PSA ~not a safe blind buy~
Hope it helps someone ¯_(ツ)_/¯

Sassafras23

Sampling it for a third time from a carded vial. The exact composition from the official website: bitter almond, cardamom, mandarin (top), cafe latte, jasmine, pear granita (middle), musks, pink praline, sandalwood (bottom). So, the pear here is cooked with sugar, and Fragratica deconstructed ‘pink praline’ into candied almonds with caramel and praline, and cafe latte - into coffee and milk, all of which being essentially accurate, except that the pink praline notes belong in the bottom. For a gourmand, this fragrance is far from exceedingly sweet. That’s probably why some reviewers do not recognise it as such. Everything is a light touch here. The jasmine and pear come through more clearly to me. I think I can tell cafe latte a bit. I think I can also pick out the almond at the opening but only musk and sandalwood in the drydown. I wish pink praline was more present for me. Indifferent reactions to this fragrance don’t particularly surprise me, but expressions of violent disgust do. I find the juice to be very pleasant if rather slight. Soleil may be a bit too pricey for its relatively shy impact. It does not seem to project much past the opening. But the glamorous bottle though may cost something to produce. Hence the price?

Disclaimer: I don’t recommend anything to anyone. I don’t know you; you don’t know me. I just record my experiences, and I’ve done my best to profile my personal preferences to help others decide if my experience is relevant.

FreddieLamb

What a massive disappointment! All of these sweet notes and I can’t distinguish any one of them. It didn’t smell good on paper but thought I should give it a chance on my skin, but I don’t even think I kept it on 30 minutes before having to scrub it off. If I’m being entirely honest, this kind of smells like vomit to me. It’s borderline vile.

Pia61

If you like to have a nice bottle to decorate your shelves, why not. This is otherwise too sweet, disappears soon from skin, and none of those notes mentioned are clearly present.

jessica_chinos

The bottle of this one is beau-ti-ful! But... it just can't be for summer for me. Where I live we reach 45º, I would be shoking people with this, it' too sweet. But I don't find it suitable for winter either, so... I would say it's a good choice on spring or autumn sunny days with no more than 25º celsius. I don't know why, but to me, this smells like peach, a soft peach with jazmin and soft caramel. All the other notes... they just disappear on my skin and turn into peach. The smell is very faint, I've had it for one and a half hour, and it almost doesn't smell. I like it, just not enough for a FB.

I have to edit my comment 6 months later:
I tried this perfume again on a chilly day and fell in love with it, I thought it smelled like heaven. It lasted way more on my skin on the colder weather, about 3 hours (instead of 1.5 hours). Bought a 30 ml bottle and have been using it for work on cold days, I spray it on my hands, sweater and sleeves, and I LOVE IT. It lasts for days on my sweater, so the longevity problem disappeared. This is not a typical fall-winter scent, but that´s precisely the point, it lights up the dark, cold day. It shines with it's clean, sweet aroma. I'm already finishing the 30 ml bottle and bought a full 100 ml bottle, so... I eat my words, it's not for summer but it's amazing on 10º-25º celsius temperatures, very uplifting and clean. I'm also spraying it on my pijamas to go to sleep, I'm really in love with this scent.

Malleable

Nothing impressive, almost boring and generic to my nose. It's not off-putting but there's nothing that would make me want to reach for it. Almost smells like a pear shampoo.

TikiKat

Based on the mixed reviews, I guess I got lucky, because Soleil smells absolutely delicious on me. It smells like cookies and milk, and/or like freshly baked bread (where am I getting a bread note?). It takes a little bit of time to develop, but once it does, I’m like, hooray, I smell like a bakery! The scent lasts all day. I live in the desert, and even on the sunniest, hottest days this fragrance never turns sour on me. Highly recommended, but test first! Seems like it can smell sweet and comforting or absolutely vile, depending on your own skin.

lucy.murphy

I'm so disappointed with this. I really thought I would like it but it smells like sick on my skin. I have tried to wear it a coupel of times now and it is the same. I bought it blind, luckily for very cheap, but even so certainly not worth it.

momo363

Soft and creamy 🥰 beautiful bottel. I bought it for daily use.
I like it so much , its longevity is very good and its smell good on skin. The out standing note for me is almond.

tomatoree

I didn't like this scent very much. There was a smell of alcohol and then something like... poop? I can't entirely describe it, but there was something that just didn't smell right lol

Sassafras23

I think it was I who mentioned Burberry Brit. It was just a quick response to the immediately preceding opinion that Soleil did not come across as gourmand, firstly, and that it could be comfortably worn by men. I just reacted to that. What I meant was not that Soleil and Brit are (closely) comparable but that all the three fragrances I mentioned, which I happened to be testing out around that time, were too sweet in their first half to be particularly suitable for men. (Of course, this cannot be prescriptive, and any man who wants to wear Soleil will do so without paying attention to contrary opinions).

PS: oh, and I think I was also looking at the accords. Both frags have sweetness as their top accord and both are nutty with a lot of almond in both.

Skinscents4Fusspots

This is clearly a perfume that has the sort of synthetics that smell WILDLY different to different people! When I sampled it I found it disgusting - nothing like I imagined at all. To my nose the sweet notes clashed so much with the sharp notes, the coffee was acrid and it had a boozy smell that reminded me of literal whiskey and not a syrupy or perfumey version of a boozy note. It actually smells like vomit to me! To use a word that sums up the picture this perfume created in my mind.... curdled! Interestingly from one of the reviews below, there must be some similar ingredients in this and Wanted Girl because that comes across as having a vomity smell to me too (same with Oh Ma Bish from Lolita Lempicka!). I wonder what it is?!

I love the bottles from this line so I'm thinking of sampling the Vibrant flanker to see if that is my girl, because Soleil didn't work for me!

P's, I have (and love!) Burberry Brit EDP and I get no similarity between Soleil and Brit. Both have Pear but they're very different scent profiles IMHO!

ava96

Soleil is a very sweet scent and I really like it. I somewhat understand the comment about it smelling like a hair salon, but I do enjoy it. I actually bought a full bottle because it was at a really good price, so I am stuck with it anyways for a while.

onjelbercier

Smells like a nail salon. I quickly learned that pear is not a good note for me.

LizDee007

This is a creamy warm spicy scent that I wouldn’t label “gourmand” but more creamy cozy spicy for cooler months. Soleil isn’t groundbreaking but the bottle, itself, is worthy enough to be park of my collection. I might not reach for this as often because it reminds me of Azzaro Wanted Girl which I have and prefer. However, it’s a very beautiful bottle, the fragrance is nice and avid collectors might still want to have this on hand. Blind buy and not disappointed 💗

Sassafras23

In contrast to the previous review, I knew immediately it was gourmand, without stretching my imagination at all. 🙃 I thought it may be sugar at first. I would put it in the same group broadly as Alibi EDP and Burberry Brit (which I also tested recently). All the three of these are rather too candied or otherwise too sweet for (cisgender) men to wear (again, in disagreement with the previous opinion).

Fenissa

I love Soleil, but I honesty would not call it a gourmand by any stretch of the imagination.
Its not sweet, it's very woody and lactonic with a touch of bright citrus, and an even slighter touch of coffee and spice.
I love it because I love sandalwood, but if you're not a fan of that note or if you are expecting a really sweet caramel/praline bomb you will be disappointed.
That bottle though? Undoubtedly one of the most beautiful I have in my collection.
It's stunning, especially when sunlight catches it through my bedroom window.
I have to say even the lid is beautifully designed.
Moderate silage and longevity. Could easily be worn by a man.

JoyousOne

This was such a disappointment. All the hype ...for WHAT? The way this smells is NOT what you would expect considering the notes. Almond, caramel, praline, coffee left the bottle before I paid for my sample. This is merely a soft floral and nothing impressive. Is it off putting? No. Is it worth buying for just the beautiful bottle even though its 50% off on sale? Nope! I wouldn't wear this if it was free.

Bubbles1964

Like many others I always wanted to sample this perfume because if 1) the gorgeous bottle and 2) the list of notes.

I don’t know how it’s possible for this to smell so wrong, but it should be a crime to package this scent in this bottle— a synthetic bomb. I get the most overpowering orange note, then something strangely off, like motor oil. Soleil is not smooth, it’s not gourmand, and it’s not natural.

Haninldn

The notes looked so gorgeous, the bottle is brilliant, but the actual fragrance gets a straight up no from me :( It's quite bizarre in that it doesn't even smell like perfume to me, but like generic orange juice laced with chilli or white pepper. My worst blind buy so far. I almost want to order another bottle so I can compare and see if I had a bad batch or something.

SnowIce

Soleil is soooo sexy! My husband thinks the same. It is soft and sensual, I love it very much. I find it difficult to specify notes - milky, almondy, sugary....Well blended. Distinctive and original, not typical gourmand. This is not for school girls. It is mature and sophisticated. Lasts quite many hours but stays close to body.

Annapl9202

It is a lighter slightly crispier and brighter version of the famous baccarat rouge. They are nearly identical with slight differences. A very nice daily wear, blind bought it based on notes and was super happy with the purchase. So if you like the baccarat rouge 540 but want something a bit lighter this is perfect

Vermeer

I really like this. Not the heavy gourmand I was expecting, so was initially disappointed - but it has since become a staple in my collection that is unlike anything else I own.

Soleil is a very light, frothy gourmand. It's creamy and mellow - think a very milky white coffee with an almond pastry. There are some sunny citruses there too. It's delicious! I wear it when I want to wear something cosy and comforting that isn't too heavy. Forms a pleasant scent bubble for a few hours. I wish it lasted longer and had more projection. All in all, I enjoy this and will probably repurchase in the future.

Neverapeoplepleaser

Probably the most beautiful perfume bottle, ever. For me, the beauty ends there. Sickly, fruity sweet. Was so excited to try La Liques but been quite disappointed so far. They all have this nauseating DNA to my nose that I just can't pin point. So sorry La Lique but a hard pass for me. Try it if you like well priced fruity sweetness and lovely glass.

gmstrack

I agree with previous posters saying that some of the bottles of Soleil must have gone bad. There is nothing gourmand in this scent, unless you count the blended mess of coffee with acidic orange juice. I'm not getting the praline, the caramel, nor the candied almond. There is nothing sweet in this fragrance!!! The milk with coffee clashes with the bright acidic orange. The floral note is pretty generic. I can't tell if it is jasmine or orange blossom, but it smells like other designer floral accords. Basically, I'm getting strong orange juice with perfume-y white floral and a gross, unidentifiable base note. Maybe this composition smelled good at one point, but after some time, the formulation seems to have has gone off. This was a disappointing blind buy because I was hoping for an uplifting gourmand with a touch of floral accord, but instead we have a generic budget floral with bitter rubber.

2/5 the bottle is beautiful

noneya88

The bottle is stunning. The perfume smells like ammonia on me. Yuck.

Eugenia Olesen

Blind buy - I simply love all Lalique fragrances :) Soleil Lalique is a delicate milk caramel or toffee candy with a light creamy vanilla undertone. The sweetness is very pleasant, balanced, there is no cloying, no dryness. Longevity and sillage are average, thus office friendly. Looking forward summer - in warm weather it should sound magical, I think. The most beautiful bottle!

LiliiiS

looking at it's notes, I thought this is going to be a 100% love for me. caramel, coffee, praline, almond, pear. yes please! I don't know why but I imagined something like Britney Spears Private Show but even more delicious
but I was really shocked when I tried Lalique Soleil. it has a perfumey scent and is not a real gourmand. all I could smell was an orangey fruit punch+some spices +a milky, slightly coconuty sweetness+non descript perfumy florals.it's not easy to pickup individual notes here and I know that this means that a perfume is well blended but I usually don't like those types of perfumes(I prefer perfumes that my favorite notes stand up strongly in them).longevity seemed to be weak.I sprayed two puffs on back of my hand and it wasn't there after three hours.
I didn't hate it but didn't like it enough to consider buying it. the scent felt somehow nostalgic though

NataliePee

It always breaks my heart when I’m excited to sample something that I think could be “the one” based on the notes and accords and then it’s nothing at all like what is described.

To my nose this was a hodgepodge of flowery bright notes with an overwhelming ammonia/cat piss dry down. I didn’t get any of the notes that excited me: coffee, praline, sandalwood, cardamom, pear… even the musk wasn’t there for me. Just strong sweet acrid jasmine.

Beautiful bottle but not a safe blind buy.

Greensprite

Like you are in a cafe with a big glass of orange juice (not the freshly squeezed kind) and there is a big bunch of white flowers on the table...after a while that is replaced with a cup of coffee (not a very hot one and it's not filling the air, the coffee is just detectable)....On me in the cold weather that's this fragrance. I was really pleasantly surprised and will be snapping up a larger bottle.

grapefruit352

This is a nice one! Bright and crispy citrus with some spices. I like it a lot! When I am feeling bored or sleepy during the dark winter days, this fragrance wakes up my mind. The crispy citruses are smooth here, not acid.
Not overly sweet, not acid, not overspiced, not unspiced. I think there is a balance here.

meowwin

blind bought because it was on sale and because the bottles pretty. mistake. the notes themselves look really good but almost none of them are noticable on my skin. it smells like cardamom, wood and wilting flowers/cat pee. i don't like it from the bottle either, it smells like baby wipes

Faellen

This reminds me of my child's orange vitamins, plus Sunny D. Spicy in the opening, but fades to overripe fruit, especially oranges. Honestly unlike anything else in my collection. I admit that this was a blind buy and that I bought it for the gorgeous bottle. Lasts forever on my clothes! About 5 hours on skin. Sillage is intimate to moderate. I wish the spiciness lasted longer. Overall, a strong like!

Galdie

The more I use, the more I like this scent. It has been 6 month I'm using it. The opening is fresh and bright, a bit floral with citrusy notes, and then very soon the milkiness appears. The "dry down" is warm and comforting on my skin. A hidden gem, a truly nice fragrance.

Kfbanks

I bought this and was so excited. The bottle is beautiful, the notes sounded promising but for whatever reason on my skin smelled like cat pee. Such a distinct smell. Not for me.

jmarie92

Based on the notes I expected this to be similar to D&G The Only One; warm, luscious and addictive. What I got was a run-of-the-mill fruity sweetness. No depth, no sexiness. It borderlined on juvenile and gave me a headache after a few hours of wear.

I will say the longevity is impressive, it lasted for HOURS, unfortunately for me. And I’d say it projected fairly well, but this made me nauseous and I couldn’t stand smelling it on myself. A resounding no.

TeresitaD

The opening is bright citrusy floral, then it dries down milky and warm on the skin. A beautiful and unique fragrance. Not gourmand like I thought at all from the coffee and praline notes listed. On my skin it sits floral creamy and musky.

SailorV

Warm, fruity and bittersweet. Even though there is no peach listed, Soleil smells quite peachy to me. The mandarin is also strong, very fitting for the bottle color. Overall it reminds me of a fruit wine. The milk and coffee notes are noticeable, too. Makes me think of a brunch with a a few lattes and many mimosas standing on the same table - but luckily the perfume has different layers and doesn't smell like both drinks were mixed with each other!
This is not an extremely lactonic or gourmand scent. Caramel adds a thicker, sticky texture and sweetness, ans there is a touch of milkiness in the drydown, but the fruity notes dominate. Jasmine and a general warm, "perfumey" base keep the fragrance from going completely foody.

In my opinion this a good citrus scent for people who find the usual citruses too cold and boring. I personally like the flanker Soleil Vibrant a little more, but I have to admit that Soleil has a more unique character.

Sidenote: I noticed that several testers of Soleil that have been standing around in stores for a while smelled off, not completely turned, but weirdly bitter. So be careful that you get a get fresh tester/sample if you want to try it and be extra careful about storage if you own a bottle.

mon_cherri

I love these notes in other fragrances, so I’m kinda bummed that this didn’t work out for me. Maybe I’m too accustomed to more typical sweet and gourmand fragrances, but this smells almost rancid on my skin. I tried it out many times and really wanted to like it, but it’s nauseating to me. ☹️

Indynika

For me, it's not the hot summer sun. It is a light breeze on a summer morning or evening. Fresh and light. I’m testing this perfume in the winter in a warm room, and I wonder how I’ll like it next spring and summer.
I definitely like it. Got a full bottle.

ellevj

I enjoy this scent, but don't feel it's worth the hefty price tag. It definitely has a citrusy feel. Very similar to Montale Sweet Flowers.

Peaches&Cream

I definitely get the orange, pear, almond, and musk. I like the scent ..it is unique, something that I have not smelled before. I am going to wear this for the spring and see if notes changes.

Moaesandberg

On my skin it’s very nutty and sweet. It was a blind buy and I am very happy with it. It smells a bit oily and witchy, like cheap insence in the 90’s, but without the smokiness. Pretty!

Cvdwatson

The bottle and the name gave me the impression this would be more solar than it is. For me it’s an odd mix of zesty and bitter. I ordered a sample based on the notes of praline, milk, almond, musk, caramel…but it’s all orange zest and bitter almond to my nose.

XOXO_marcel

My immediate thought was that this smelled like a lemon-flavored pancake absolutely drenched in syrup. Looking at the notes, everything makes sense now. If you love gourmands, you'll find this one delicious. It's a little too much for me, but I'd recommend it to others.

noneya88

I wish I could smell this without the bitter almond, I think I would enjoy it more if that were the case. I like it well enough but sometimes the bitter almond when mixed with idk what else gives me cat pee vibes. Otherwise, I really love the bottle more than anything else. I wouldn't consider this a gourmand because it doesn't smell like dessert to me, but I also have no clue how to categorize it. It's warm, spicy, bitter, citrusy, light.. I'll try it again on the Winter, but for now I mostly just find it pretty to look at.

BougieGirlShops

This is a pretty scent. Nutty, creamy, sweet and a touch spicey. I don't love it but I like it. Despite it being citrus-y, I think it's too creamy and sweet for it to work in warm weather, definitely a colder weather fragrance for me.

But can I say, this bottle is stunning. So hefty and pretty.

Rozalina

The initial spray is pretty- a creamy milky dessert with spices and orange zest. Dries down pretty quickly to a boring synthetic mess.

emilydavi

This is much spicier than I thought it would be (I blind bought it.) There's only cardamom in it, but it smells almost gingery to me, like a spicy desert. Reminds me a little of Twilly from Hermes, but sweeter and more gourmand. Will be using it in winter I think, when I want something a bit festive.

étoilesdejasmin

Unexpectedly citrusy sweet. Creamy mandarin mostly, not sharp orange, which i did not expect. Unfortunately doesn’t last as much as I’d wish, and I’d also crave the base notes to be more prominent, I imagined this to be a gourmand but I’d say it’s duly it’s name, sunny, vivacious, spring like and sweetly bright. but the bottle is damn gorgeous.

MademoiselleMaya

Amazing, featherlight, airy start - slightly floral and sweet. Like a summer morning routine. Pink rose bushes in the garden, jasmin still in the air, losing strenght after the night, gentle sunrays entering the bedroom, waking up a still asleep woman in her skin showered the previous evening with a creamy white soap. Milk just might start to warm up in the coffee machine downstairs, the air is fresh and breezy.
Very clean and gentle, daytime scent full of warm air bringing garden aromas to your home.

Roses1357

This just smells like mishmash of scents that don’t belong together. It’s like an overripe pear submerged in a sweet, creamed coffee with sunscreen wafting around it. And oddly, I’m intrigued enough to go back for more.

Jennamarie81

The only thing I got from this fragrance was Versace bright crystal…. no gourmand aspects… whatsoever. Just bright crystal☹️☹️☹️

RandomPatterned

I appreciate how this one is a different take on a vacation vibes fragrance. But the marketing notes on the sample card read in part "A burst of morning light. An addictive splash of cafe latte..." So I guess it's supposed to be more about morning "Soleil" rather than summer, although it seems appropriate to wear in warm weather. I get sweetness, citrus and pear immediately but then almost instantly it seems like a fastball of everything else hitting my olfactory senses - almond, coffee, something creamy, a bit of spice, jasmine - whoa. This doesn't last long. It dries down quickly to a pleasant light musk w/jasmine and hints of sweetness and wood. I thought this was more of a skin scent but my husband who rarely acknowledges my SOTD noticed it and asked if I had just put on perfume. I had reapplied a few sprays about 1-2 hours before I commuted home from work. He won't make specific comments regarding notes or personal preferences but did say I smelled nice when asked if it was generally acceptable or not. Soleil isn't enough of a like or unique enough to compel me to buy a FB, maybe I would buy if available at a bargain cost.

rmsnootz

A lovely summery gourmand! Whilst on first spray I think it can be a little cloying, it dries down to a beautiful sweet almondy smell... I love it!

Hunnynpink

This reminded me of overripe mandarin...sweet and creamy, but weirdly acidic and animalic at times. When you combine opposite warm sweet notes with bright citrus notes it doesn't always blend harmoniously. Its not consistently pleasant on my skin so i consider this a failed blind buy.

melanie mother or foxes

I like this a lot. After the initial blast of juicy oranges, im left with creamy, nutty chocolates. I personally find it a bit too creamy for summer but as the summer ends and autumn pokes it head through this comes into a world of irs own. I recommend it if you like creamy sweet praline. Mmmmm

Cherry08

I just adore this perfume, it’s my “I don’t want to wear another citrus/aquatic summer freshie but it’s still hot outside” fragrance. It’s gourmand but light, spicy, fresh , sweet and the Jasmine just about cuts through making it feel all so classy. It’s a very well composed and blended perfume.

SmeagolsSister

Not the biggest fan...

Initially upon spraying this fragrance, I felt nauseous because the sweetness was so strong, but the smell grew on me a bit as I got past the spicy notes and smelled the sweet notes. I felt like the pear and cardamom notes were too intense, so this isn't really for me. As the day continued, I ended up kind of liking it for its caramel and lactonic notes, but still not enough to consider buying a full size of it.

For another perspective, however, I asked my husband and he said it smelled "foreign," as in, "that smells like it doesn't belong on a body." Lol. He's typically without much opinion about scents, but he felt the need to speak up against this one when I asked him of his opinion.

I'm not quite ready to re-home this one. I'm going to give it a bit more time to see if it grows on me, but I'm doubtful.

AlinkaSun

Like I said in my other review of another Lalique perfume, this brand is extremely underrated. I am amazed by quality, notes and performance of their fragrances.
So let’s talk about Soleil by Lalique. I adore every aspect of this product.
First of all, fragrance composition. Opening is so juicy because of mandarin, soft because of almond and has a cooling touch of cardamom. Great burst of freshness for summer. As time passes, fragrance warms up and becomes sweeter with pear note, coffee latte and caramel. Heavenly!!! And then after several hours praline dessert note and musk lingers….all notes play a beautiful symphony. This perfume smells divine and performs great. It is universally wearable for any times/season/occasions.
It is very feminine, youthful, playful and quite elegant. There is really something that makes me think of sunny day, sipping coffee outside and enjoying nice fruity and chocolate dessert, taking the moment and admiring the life in my little town.
The bottle is separate topic. Lalique is known as glass makers in first place. This perfume is enclosed in beautiful bottle that feels luxurious: thick glass, metal cap and lovely charm.
I am so glad I got to know this perfume. Will always repurchase and recommend to others.

Kitskivich

It's quite sweet upon spraying it, but nice. I pick up the pear and sweet jasmine, but my skin doesn't pull cardamom, caramel, coffee, praline, or milk - even well into dry down. There are aspects of the middle notes that remind me of Place Vendôme by Boucheron. It otherwise dries down fast and is gone very quickly.

PoshGirl

Very vintage smelling parfum but not for me. I like modern smells...

Lulu04

This is beautiful, but I can for sure see how someone will be disappointed if they blind buy it with the expectation that it would be "based on the notes" a warm heavy gourmand type of fragrance.

This is a light bright summer gourmand. What you mostly get is sweet mandarin orange and pear. However, after giving it a couple of wears I can now also detect the coffee and milk notes, but they are in the background not dominant at all.

Loevens

Dont know how to feel about this scent. First time I ever smelled it, I felt like I had smelled it before. It makes me nostalgic but I am not sure why.

It doesnt smell anything like I thought it would from looking at the notes. Wich is a bummer.

Best way I can describe what this scent feels like to me: being at the hairdressers drinking orange juice right after brushing my teeth, but make it nostalgic..

Bottle is pretty though.

AlaskanAngel

This is nice and soft in the dry down, but it never smooths out on me. It's fresh and sweet, completely inoffensive, work/school appropriate. I just kept being disappointed that it remained unsettled. There's also a weird fuzzy note in here I'm not enjoying. And I don't find the coffee or cardamom, two notes I adore, at any point during the wear. The end game becomes more and more floral while that fuzzy quality persists. Just all around disappointing.

Review of foolish full bottle blind-buy. I thought it was a safe bet because of the note description! NOPE! Decluttered.

Mghen

Successful blind buy for me, beautiful juice paired with a gorgeous packaging. On my skin this is very nice and sweet, a bit too subtle maybe. I can smell the mandarin orange and the creaminess of the sandalwood. It's very feminine, I just wish it lasted a little longer.

Draco_Dormiens

Blind bought it based on positive reviews on Youtube, tested it several times, and unfortunately, it appears that it doesn't work with my skin chemistry at all. In the opening on my skin, I can smell a very creamy and almost milky note, and a very distinguishable cardamon note, which combined together reminds me of the Chai Latte drink, but it lasts only for a couple of minutes, and then the creamy-milky note changes on my skin to something very sour, almost scratchy-sour, with hints of something vintagey in the background, which combined with that strong cardamon note, smells very off-putting, almost nauseating. I really wanted to like it, but the dry-down makes it unbearable to me, sadly, because I like the opening very much.

Alces Alces

The perfumes that hold my interest and end up being my favorites are almost always the ones with polarized reviews. Some commenters below rave about the beauty of Soleil, but other describe it as puke. That was my clue that I would like this (not the puke part, the strong opinions on both sides).

The sweet orange reminds me of an Orange Julius drink. Orange Julius was an orange and vanilla/milky froth served with a huge wide straw - this was back in my seventies childhood. I don't know what they are like now. They had a fantastic fresh smell, which is so close to this scent. And the cafe latte note is definitely there in the heart. I get no praline or caramel, just a coffee, milk, and orange juice sweetness with a tiny bit of jasmine, the kind of jasmine that settles into the back of your throat. Oddly enough, this is not a heavy gourmand. I find it wears best in heat. If you like orange, go for this. Despite the disparate notes, it is well blended and frothy...like an Orange Julius.

As one reviewer notes below, this would make a great wedding scent. It smells so happy.

Kotikina

This is very pretty (yet another successful blind buy!) It looks like there are a lot of gourmand notes and one could think it would be a sweet bomb, yet all the notes are very quiet and polite, it is a very shy perfume. Even cardamom which can be very pungent is pretty and polite.None of the notes stand out, no note is overpowering. Opens with bright joyful mandarin oranges, exactly how mandarin oranges should be. Despite the notes are subtle, I can actually detect all of them apart from caramel. I figured out why I don't smell caramel - it is not there! It says there is caramel on Fragrantica, but on the official Lalique website caramel isn't listed.

Maybe a weird idea, but this is so joyful and romantic that I could see this as summer wedding bridal scent. The notes sound very gourmand, but I would call it subtle, watercolour-like gourmand.
Unfortunately performance is weak.

Gems84

This is a subtle and beautiful gourmand scent. Not over powering at all, so if you like something a little less beast mode this is for you. The bottle is stunning, the fragrance is stunning and not really comparible to anything else I’ve smelt before.

Amarigemariagelove

I LOVE this so much. To me it is unlike anything else I’ve ever smelt, I don’t find that is generic, I wish I could find more perfumes which I LOVE as much as this one! It is a beautiful, soft yet enveloping hug, happy, cosy and sunny scent which absolutely transports me to the feeling of holidays… Fresh out the shower lotioned and eating breakfast on the balcony overlooking the sea, sunshine is on my face, sipping coffee and munching on sweet pastries 💕. Wish I could actually be on that holiday now instead of cloudy England 😂 … I can’t get enough of it. I recommend the hair mist too it’s lovely, a softer cheaper version to get a lovely whiff of Soleil throughout the day ⭐️ I hope they don’t stop making this wonderful perfume - the gorgeous bottle is perfect too!

ValleyGirl86

LOVE this scent! Over time, I've found that I like quite a few of the Lalique fragrances, but this one has become a top favorite of all time for me. It is so creamy, and sweet, and warm. All of the notes feel like they blend together so that no one thing stands out too much. It feels like you're wrapped up in blanket and everything is perfect. The citrus as a perfect bright tone, the gourmand notes are not too much, the Jasmine is blended in just right as is the Musk.
The longevity is crazy good, and one of the few scents that I can spray on in the morning and still smell on myself when I go to bed. That gives in to the one downside for me, as sometimes scents can be too much for my boyfriend with his asthma......When we're cuddling up after a long day, I can smell it like a soft cloud between us. Every time I think, 'oh wow, what's that smell', and it's Soleil, and I briefly think it might be too strong(even after 8-9 hours). But otherwise that longevity and sillage is great.

Laoire

Just received my order of Soleil this morning and I was a bit apprehensive when buying it because of the mixed reviews, but so far I think it is wonderful. Fresh burst of orange and citrus on first spray which then blends down to a floral creamy base. Not disappointed at all with this purchase. Smells expensive!

Heiroppo

This is nice but very generic. Like others have mentioned, the notes are very enmeshed so it's hard to identify any one thing. The cardamom definitely comes in at the start but after dry down any spice is almost entirely gone and it becomes a very light, pretty, and comforting in a completely inoffensive and unremarkable way. Milky pear, light musk, sugar. No coffee at any point. 100% office safe. Doesn't last.

perfume_mami

When I first bought it I thought it was ok, then I was obsessed and now I think it's just fine. Projection is really weak, it lasts about 4-5 hours. In my opinion it is not worth the money.

ibralemmi

I am so confused rn. I was so confused when I sprayed it too.
I LITERALLY DID A DOUBLE TAKE and I find that so funny right now. I sprayed it in the shop and the scent was just so ...bad? that I looked at it again like wait did I spray something else?
I don't get fruit or citrus or anything I have absolutely no Idea what the initial smell was.
it smelt burnt somehow. and just BAD. very very bad.
I'm utterly confused, Idk whats up with this perfume... if anyone who knows their notes and frags can enlighten me Im all ears.

livelovelaugh0810

Okay I had high hopes for this one and blind bought it. It finally arrived so here's what I think.

So for starters, I was expecting this really milky, praline-y, sweet creamy scent with some orange and dark coffee. No.

First spray, it's this fruit smell. whatever you're thinking it will smell like, scrap it. You get something fruity which I assume is the pear. There's some citrusy kick, the mandarin and then the rest is just huh? My nose is not fine tuned like some of the fellow niche-perfume junkies, so I can't smell or detect depth, well-blendedness, individual notes, etc. It smells like a newly opened arm and hammer's double duty hard-clump cat litter. Not bad at all. I'm not saying it smells like cat poop. I'm saying it smells like detergent-type scent perfumed cleaning agent. Not bad, but just the correlation makes me a little sad.

Drydown, it smells like scandal edt by jpg drydown.
There's no orange blossom, but it smells like it.
Some sweet orange blossom, kind of sun-tan lotion type of cosmeticy smell.

final verdict: scent is not what I expected, but still great. would not buy if i had the chance to test it before, but i think that because i had such high expectations, I'm going harder on this scent than i am on others.
If you have expectations for a coffee, orange, praline fantasy. sorry lol.

Ewi

Beautiful scent, I love the way cardamon is presented - it isn't too strong but noticeable, a bit green and fresh and blends beautifully with sweeter notes, touch of jasmine and milk 😊 I like and respect Lalique house a lot, the bottle is beautiful like for most of the perfumes from that house.

Ella7712

Oh I thought for sure that I would love Soleil but unfortunately this smells like puke to me 😟
Very strange scent, kind of sour.

The bottle is beautiful though so I will keep it just for display.

Lavendery72

When I first purchased this perfume, it was Springtime going into Summer. It smelled great on paper and in the air, but on my skin it smelled distinctly of fruit punch. I couldn't understand how something so expensive smelled like juice. So I let it sit for a long time before using it again, and perhaps that helped.

Wearing this during the Winter gives it a different feeling and brings out more of the lactonic and praline aspects of the perfume. It does eventually dry down to something tangy and fruity, but not fruit punch. There's more depth to it.

I actually think Soleil would be very nice for an outing on a cool Spring day, or as a beachy perfume that doesn't smell like coconut or tiare flower. It's enjoyable in the winter to make you think of warm weather, and the cool weather drydown is quite pleasant and not as sharp as the hot weather drydown.

This perfume projects farther than I realized, and it does get compliments. It's oddly fruity and delicious and fun, but sophisticated at the same time. I think it could work nicely as an office sent. It gives me Chanel vibes without being Chanel.

I personally think it needs to be reapplied at least once throughout the day because the lasting power isn't over 4 hours in the heat. But perhaps I just stop smelling it after I've gotten used to it.

shoujomarina

I get a spicy cardamom bomb tbh. it smells like cinnamon (herbal, not gourmand) and mandarin , some coffee and slight milk. gives me a headache. I prefer it on the skin. this is a fall-orange. surprised its rated a summer fragrance. this is basically thanksgiving in a bottle lol. but cant imagine myself wearing it on any occasion tbh.

CiCiGourmand

Y'all this fragrance is simply divine with a very fresh and realistic mandarin. It legitimately smells like a freshly peeled mandarin orange. It's not a thick and syrupy concoction, therefore I wouldn't say it's a true gourmand. Despite some of the listed notes it's quite fresh but not overly sharp like how some citruses can be. This is a well done solar fragrance without the usual tropical notes. I am in love! 🍊🌞

jessica.arndt

I blind bought Soleil after reading all the reviews here. Initially I got interested on this perfume because of the bottle, which is really really stunning. Even many reviewers here wrote this perfume is very fresh and not gourmand at all, I didn't trust 100%. I love gourmand fragrances but fresh floral and citric perfumes are usually my favorites.
About Soleil I have to agree with those reviewers. To me Soleil isn't gourmand at all and I also would not categorize it as a sweet perfume.
In the first minutes what I most smell is the cardamom, which gives to this perfume a very minty fresh feeling, almost medicinal. I can also smell the almonds and the citrus notes, and as a reviewer wrote, it reminds Guerlain La Petit Robe Noire Eau Fraiche, but fresher and with this Cardamom note.
After sometime Soleil becomes a less sweet and exotic version of Mugler Womanity. Maybe it's all in my mind but I can swear I smell salt in here. Together with the Womanity vibe I also get that typical Chanel scent. The same style as in Chanel Paris Venise and Dior Joy (which some people compare to Allure).
And that's how Soleil stays on my skin. If somebody would show me this and tell its a Chanel perfume, I would believe.
It's not a memorable fragrance, but I love it.
Until now I've only tested it in winter, so I can't tell how it behaves when it's warm outside, but I have the feeling it will be even nicer.
I'm happy Ive bought it. It's an easy fragrance, very versatile.

Pashmina95

I’m hesitating to buy this one… I sampled it in the store on paper touch but not on my skin. How does the perfume act on the skin? Rather warm and comforting or more floral and fancy? I love solar perfumes and i read that « soleil », despite of its name, is rather a gourmand than a « sunkissed skin scent »… Thank you for your answers :))

Edit : I salute the idea of Lalique to create a perfume called « soleil » without coconut, tiare flower or marine/salty notes! :P

ilaria903

I've tried a decant in the winter and it just disappears after 1 hour. I wonder if it would perform better in spring or summer so I'll try it again in those warmer seasons.
Too bad because it's really perfect to put a smile on your face. It makes me thing of a spring morning while having breakfast outside with fresh orange juice.

Ylang-Ylang

Reading the comments suggests that maybe some people can't smell all the ingredients. For me Soleil opens fruity and slightly floral and as it settles the gourmand notes become more apparent. An absolutely lovely and delicious perfume. Maybe not the most gourmandy out there, but definitely in the gourmand spectrum. I get delicate coffee, praline, caramel notes. Love it!
Could last a bit longer, but it lasts two to three hours on my skin. Sillage is moderate. Love wearing this in the morning or late afternoon.

Darkgarden

Note for myself: Summery day time perfume, very fresh, coffee and burnt sugary notes hit first then fades into a musky sugar-y citrus

Gonmaia

Floral fruity gourmand??? Really? It smells fresh floral to me. And waaay too soapy. All those notes looks amazing but they're definitely NOT in here.

Dorange Sense

I think this contains Iso E Super and that overshadows everything gourmand.
I smelled a fresh like scent only, compared to Chanel Chance Eau Fraiche with it's penetrant artificial wet freshness.

Poudery

Soleil is fruity and gourmand on me. I smell the pear, mandarin, cardamom and almond first, then the praline and last but not least a hint of milky coffee and caramel as a delicate finish. The musk, jasmine and sandalwood are at the core the whole time, but not so strong as to mute the finer notes.
The opening is very fruity, very delicious, with strong cardamom. As it dries down, the other notes gain strength. Eventually everything blends together nicely - I get whiffs of marzipan, a slight creamy scent with floral components, very well rounded.

Soleil is simply delightful, made for a happy mood. You don't smell like a whole bakery with it, if that's what you're looking for - in my opinion it's hovering between a gourmand and a fruity fragrance, just at the right spot.
I prefer wearing this during the day, but will probably try it on summery nights as well.

It needs to be said how pretty the bottle is. It looks and feels precious and delicate and thus is a perfect fit for this perfume. Since it so lightly surrounds me, this might be interesting to layer with other perfumes, if you wanted to give it a more specific direction. With a little ambery vanilla I can see this become a more profound evening fragrance or with something powdery/fruity or stronger on the nutty/cakelike scents, it could be your gourmand cloud number nine.

amandawilliamspalmer

Great orange perfume. A delicious breakfast of orange juice, coffee latte, almond pastry and sliced pear. Yummy. Reminds me of Molton Brown Milk Musk mixed with Chanel Allure. 10 out of 10. In my collection for life. I love it in the morning in my PJs before the day begins.

tulipandemonium

Nice and non-offensive.
For some strange reason, it is a cousin of a long forgotten perfume that I had has as a teenager: Dzintars Elegia, with citrus, blackcurrant and white musk notes.
Soleil is a bit more spicy and sweet on me, but the vibes are the same

sawadeecara

I actually don't get the gourmand, nutty, sweet vibes that the notes are meant to provide. To my nose, it smells powdery and fruity, classic and a little bit old school. I bought it on the spur of the moment, hoping for a lactonic gourmand treat. 🥛 🥜

inspe13

It's very meh. A warm scent. It would be totally fine if some body care smelled like this. But it's not a fragrance scent. It has zero character.
The notes are all meshed together. Something lactonic warm praline coffee-ish.
If you want the bodycare fragrance, go for it. If you want your fragrance to be memorable, pass by.

Dramaloladiva

This is definitely not what I would think about (smell wise) when I look at the sun (not that I’d stare at the sun for fear of burning my eyeballs)!
This is quite a nondescript scent...the notes all mesh together to create a lactonic/fruity concoction. The bottle is for sure a beautiful thing to behold but the juice inside isn’t anything to rave about. It’s boring and linear without much personality or direction...
I blind bought this and I will be either giving it away or try to resell it because I don’t really need it in my collection...

Swmln

I don't get the gourmand, nutty, sweet vibes that the notes are supposed to provide. Pretty powdery and fruity to my nose, classic, a little bit old school. I blind bought it hoping for a lactonic treat.. I'm disapointed

Note: What's up with copy/pasting other members review ? 🤨

ScentFan2021

I got a sample of this, loved it, and then got the full bottle. I LOVE the bottle; it is beautiful and classy just like the scent, and comes with a pretty bracelet.

As for the scent: I like it a lot (hence me buying the bottle). It's work-safe AND genuinely quite pretty. People will take you seriously at while also thinking you smell good. It can also be used as a going-out fragrance, but it's better during the day. You should definitely give 8-10 minutes of dry-down time before judging it; otherwise, you will think it came straight out of a magazine paper sampler, and it is much better than that.

I'd say it's overpriced, but I assume you are also paying for this gorgeous bottle...and legit jewelry.

kyrozhn

Blind buy and love! I didn't like and I still don't love the citrusy opening, it reminds me of the sourness of some designer perfumes. But the dry down...The dry down is everything! I carried MFK, BYREDO, BDK, Frederic Malle and Amouage perfumes with me during vacations just to end up wearing this one most of the time..! The milky, pear juicy, sweet smell is perfect for summer.
Love, love, love, just to make sure I made myself clear.😁
Note: The middle notes emerge way faster in high temperature. So I enjoyed Soleil more during a hot day than a summer day/night with a gentle breeze.

sejohnson77

Smells like Hawaiian Punch. 🤷🏻♀️

Palmer Eldritch

Sophistication, Elegance, Beauty. Just a few words that come to mind when I sniff this luscious perfume.
This is SO beautiful. Not exaggerating when I say this is the BEST Lalique release for women! Incredibly edible, delicious, clean and oozing class.
Not gonna lie, the Lalique women's range is great but not what I look for...very mature and reserved scents (except Le Parfum, but that's masculine). Soleil on the other hand... has got that extra ''oomph'' I crave in designer perfumes.

An absolute delight from opening to dry-down: A silky, citrusy cardamom opening that settles into this scrumptious, frothy café latte without losing the pear/mandarin fruity facets. Jasmine & white musk are the least obvious on my skin but keep Soleil from being borderline gourmand. Also not powdery on me. The dry-down on my skin is a lightweight, sweet spicy coffee with creamy sandalwood.

I am totally in love, and so are the men around me LOL! This is the first and only Lalique fragrance that got me compliments.

Verdict: Gorgeous bottle, bracelet and packaging. Juice inside is A+. Enchanting, modern, undeniably feminine and elegant. Well done Lalique!

ScarletAnyaBlack

I've never smelled something like this before. When searching for summer perfumes, reviewers would typically recommend something beachy, suntan lotiony which is not my cup of tea. I was about to give up my hunt for that perfect summer perfume but then I received a sample of Soleil and was pleasantly surprised. It's very bright and classy and not at all cloying. I immediately ordered a full bottle, which is so pretty by the way, and have not regretted it ever since.

JLorenz

It has a pleasant scent, cozy and beautiful - for about 15 minutes! It has very weak longevity and zero silage! I often wonder why they make perfumes that no one can smell, including the person wearing it?!

Dwallyfritz

This one took me a while to appreciate. I first got it in winter and it smelled like a boozy pineapple with powdery almond. Ok, but not my cup of tea. But I love the bottle so much (and spent more then I would ever be able to resell it for) I decided to keep it and put it to the back of my shelf. Now, summer has finally rolled around and upon a revisit I finally get this fragrance. It strongly reminds me of a softer Ma Petite Robe Noir Eau Fraiche edt (the green one) with a sweet citrus overtone. The bitter almond is fresh and clean in the open, the jasmin is clean in the middle and carries the white floral aspect well, the citrus is bold throughout, and the milk/pear/sweetness reminds me of the same milk note in Kilian Kissing. The dry down is soft- creamy lactonic sandlewood with musk but still citrusy. (like the peal, slightly bitter) Projection is moderate, longevity is great (6-8 hrs), price is a bit high but for a luxury brand its comparable. Not a safe blind buy- it definitely reads differently in the warmer weather so seasons matter with this one. Classy, feminine, pretty, sassy, clean are all words that come to mind for me.

SummerRose

Sunny, bright, classy, cosy fragrance that is beautifully blended. I got this at a really good price and I am glad that it does last on my skin. I get whiffs of it throughout the day and it puts me in a happy place. IMO, it is best suited for day time, spring and summer. But, it does not smell like the usual summer fragrance, it is a bit more elegant/classy . It's a LOVE for me.
.

pzavala123

This scent did not disappoint! It smells like you're in a cozy European cafe sitting next to a classy, elegant woman wearing a beautiful floral perfume... the coffee note is not bitter or strong, but complements the almonds and jasmine in a lovely way. It really smells like the first waft of air as you step into a cafe. This isn't too sweet. It's classic, delicious, classy, elegant, beautiful. The cafe latte note is definitely there for the first half hour, but fades away pretty quickly, just like how you'd become accustomed to the rich, delicious smell of being in a cafe after sitting there all afternoon. This fragrance is sunny and bright, while being warm and comforting as well. I think it's really well done; even though the price is a little outrageous, I did buy the full size bottle, because I loved it so much. If you love floral-gourmand-praline-coffee fragrances, give this one a try!

AtelierLicorice

Soleil is a fresh, sunny, lactonic citrus, which is not at all what I was expecting. I don’t think it qualifies as a gourmand; the praline and caramel notes are nonexistent and the coffee is faint. It fades rapidly, and was completely indiscernible on my skin after 2 hours.

Itssarabelle

I was so so so excited to receive this in the mail today. I probably checked the mail 4 times until it came.. as soon as it came in, I ran to my room, opened the box and eagerly sprayed it and my boyfriend immediately said “that smells like Krystals” .... as in Krystals cheeseburgers. And I smelled exactly what he was talking about.. and now I feel as if I’m ruined.. that’s all I smell now and I’m so so so sad

It conjures up meeting friends for brunch in a Paris garden cafe on a warm spring day.
I'm having freshly squeezed orange juice, an almond croissant and a delicious milky coffee.
We sit chatting, enjoying the feel of the sun and the sweet smell of the blossom on the trees.
Life is good.

Well, what to say about this one. I actually really like it but the staying power is not good. For me it is a pure spring/summer floral. The dry down has a little maybe sandalwood but I don't get much of the gourmand notes I see others here talking about. It is very pleasant and smells like summer but it is gone maybe 2 hours after I spray it. I wish it stayed around, the opening notes are beautiful. This seems to be a very common issue for me with newer perfumes. Do I just expect more because I came of age in the 80's/90's? Perfumes back then stayed looonnngggg after they were applied. LouLou and Poison I could literally still smell on my skin the next day and the old Opium wore for hours and hours. Most of these beautiful fragrances I try now just fade and fade quickly. The last thing I want to do is respray constantly. Mugler scents are maybe the one exception I have run in this. Even Delina fades after a few hours and that one is supposed to be a beast.

Peacelovecolorart

This is a very soft, sweet, light scent. Subtle powder and musk. The notes are blended into an abstract scent, but I sense a floral almond milk from this. I was expecting a heavy, spicy gourmand for fall/winter, but it turns out this is best for Spring.

RainbowGirl

This is a perfume where it is very difficult to pick out all the individual fragrance notes. They blend seamlessly together into this fresh, bright, uplifting, sunny, fruity floral fragrance. I would not classify this as a gourmand fragrance. It amazes me that there is praline in here, because I don't get it at all. Not even in the dry down.

At first spray, I get the top notes of mandarin, and... bitter almond and cardamom? I am familiar with almond in perfume, but I have never smelled bitter almond or cardamom. The combination is fresh and warm at the same time, but I would not consider this a spicy or almond fragrance.

In the middle I get the jasmine, along with the bitter almond or cardamom scent, and I get a hint of the caramel. The dry down is slightly sweet with a hint of musk. Makes me want to mash my nose into my wrist.

A previous reviewer mentioned it reminded them of something from their childhood, and I would agree. It reminded me of that golden yellow Johnson & Johnson baby shampoo that my mother used on my hair when I was young....so long ago. :) I am not implying this perfume smells like baby shampoo. It is much more sophisticated and zero soapy. It was more of a hint of a memory of that scent, and it made me instantly smile.

The bottle is the most beautiful bottle I own. It looks as if when the glass was blown, they captured the rays of the sun inside of it. A piece of art.

A lovely perfume that I should wear more often, but the expense makes me savor it only on special occasions instead. A completely safe blind buy, in my opinion, and would make an amazing gift for someone special.

amandawilliamspalmer

Love at first sniff. Each time I wear it I love it more and more. When I'm not wearing it, I think about wearing it. Just beautiful smell, bottle, and it comes with a super cute bracelet. Now that it's warm in London it is my daily reach. Lasts longer on clothes than skin.

mynameismaryam

To me this is a beautiful, light, bright, fruity, creamy, spicy scent. I don't really get gourmand - it's not overly sweet. This will be a good everyday or spring / summer smell. I normally like darker scents, but this will be a nice alternative to have in my collection.

Kots_Tanya

I purchased a bottle when it was first released and judging by the notes it wasn't at all what i was expecting, so I was quite disappointed and let go of my bottle. After sometime passed I purchased a travel spray and I couldn't get enough of it. Something just changed in my nose so I ended up purchasing full bottle again.
By looking at the notes I though it would be something very sweet and gourmand but the scent is fresh, yet a bit sweet, and both expects balanced well. I can smell something along black current which is not listed. and I can detect coffee with caramel sightly in the background. I think if your nose is not trained to smell certain notes you will have hard time detecting those. Overall I think its very crowd pleasing fragrance and easy to wear, its an easy reach fragrance. It is bright I absolutely enjoy it in fall/spring days when its not too cold or too hot.
Fragrance I would compare it to is Meliora by PDM which I prefer over Lalique Soleil.

Heathrfeathr

I really wanted a summer gourmand but this doesn’t pull sweet or gourmand on my skin at all. It’s just okay. The bottle is a stunner so I’ll keep it for that. And I’ll prob wear when I’m craving something musky because that’s all that comes out for me in this one.

jacoiyathomas

This perfume is so bright and beautiful, I love the bottle and it reminds me of a smell form my childhood 💕

lmnsvgz

This is a whole breakfast in a perfume. Starts of with a sweet, fresh orange juice. Then there is the gourmand part, reminiscent of many other perfumes on the market - generically sweet, but pretty nonetheless. I felt the coffee note after it stayed on my skin for a while and then it reminded me of Black Opium.

Kswhittaker

This was a love from the first sniff! The bottle and the perfume are both stunning! And I grabbed it on sale online so it was an absolute bargain too! Very soft milky citrus sweet and nutty! Beautiful

Kurama

Sweet, juicy, and quite bitter in the beginning. I might really be catching that bitter almond. Rather weird, not in a bad way though. To me, it's not generic still classy. I will be enjoying it this warm season.

Update: Ugh, I wish the performance of this one would be better. It fades away into a skin scent after 1h that even I can barely smell. I will use this bottle up, but will not repurchase it.

zelelipe

So far I am liking this but not in love, however it is currently winter and I live in a cold climate (testing this on a rainy day) so I am most definitely testing this at the wrong time.

Initially I get a hit of pear which quickly fades into what smells to me like pineapple cake or sweets. I get the almond and cardamom and it is lovely, however there is something slightly off with the blend to me. As it develops and dries down more of the milk, praline and cardamom come out. I also get a hint of coffee and a chocolatey smell which is pleasant. I am personally not a fan of mixing fruit with milk and chocolate in general so I think that's why it smells off to me. Personally I would prefer the milk/almond/praline fragrance to be completely separate from the orange/pear one, here the mixing is interesting but slightly poorly executed.

It's a nice perfume but it's not a wow perfume so far... I might change my mind in the Spring/Summer though! I generally do not gravitate towards fruity perfumes in winter so I will try again when it gets warmer to see if my impression changes. The bottle is of course gorgeous. If you live in a warmer climate I can imagine this being a good year-round scent.

It's light and doesn't project much, but again, I am testing in cold weather and it may be a different story with some extra warmth. I wouldn't want to overspray this but it is so far not nauseating or headache inducing as some sweet perfumes can be. It has a grown up but youthful energy as a result of the combination of fruit and spice.

I haven't really tested enough to comment on longevity but it is a skin scent on me and it's fading quickly.

Update: Summer has come and I am getting to test this again. It is MUCH better in warm weather. Still like rather than love it, however the stale, off feeling has gone and I am now able to appreciate the blend. Was going to sell this but it seems to be going for very low prices and I enjoy the bottle so will be keeping it as a holiday/summer fragrance. Still does not really project (same performance as in colder weather) but the scent is definitely more appropriate for lazy summer days

Schnupperl

A fruity and citric gourmand that has been refined with almond and praline and given a delicate warm-spicy touch by cardamom.

estherperomsik

Sweet, effervescent champagne. I have been searching for a fragrance with a sparkling quality, and this could be the one. It reminds me of Jadore but with more likable notes. I bought it in winter so I havent been able to try it yet in its optimal months of spring/summer. I could see it being a signature scent. On me it lasts 12 hours on the skin. One spray is plenty! I bought it for the beautiful bottle but the juice is rather lovely. I agree that it is a cheerful scent, but rich and mature. A classy woman would wear this, and it smells like money to me. I enjoy wearing it in my quarantine sweatpants, dreaming of days with the option of attending a fancy soiree in a ballgown. A great escapist scent for when you want to feel fancy, rich, and bubbly.

dimitrowa.s

I've been gravitating towards this fragrance recently and I have to say it's such a unique scent! I've never smelt anything like it - starts off as a milky coffee with lots of fruits. I get wafts of flowers and subtle notes of spices. Interestingly, unlike the marketing that puts it as the "morning sun", I associate it with afternoon coffee and fruit salad. Very nice.

golden.signorina

I bought it depending on youtube reviews but it's so generic cheap juvenile soapy smell
Really I don't like it..
Isn't for me

Nataliemarie

This was a blind buy, no stores sell it near me & I have wanted this BOTTLE for months now! It may be the prettiest bottle I own. ( I also am in love w/ the KVD large black "Sinner" bottle. I do NOT regret it, and although the perfume is different, it also seems very generic to me. I would NOT have bought this solely for the juice inside, if it came in a plain bottle. Hope this gives a little insight to anyone on the fence. I think I just have SOO many I just cannot live without, this just fell a little flat. I ordered L. Amethyst back in June, immediately sold that on Ebay. I hated it. So far, I have not been impressed too much w/ Lalique's juices.
I would not describe this as gourmand at all.
This reminds me of one of those "never heard of it" bottles you might see in a dime store, or drug store, maybe Hot Topic...that costs around $5 & it's in a stinking CUTE bottle. What's $5????? Then you get home & the juice smells "Ok", "Generic", like this. But you are tickled b/c it was cheap & in a cute bottle. This bottle isn't Cute, it's AMAZING, but here we do have that ho hum scent. And it ain't cheap.

Update: Impressions on a windy warm summer day. The scorching heat is left behind.
I literally felt the aura reflected by the advertising campaign today. The smell of cardamom flavored coffee, fresh orange juice, a spoon of chocolate and a bouquet of jasmine filled the room. And they all mixed well. Oh my Goodness! It is necessary to give this perfume some time. If it fits your budget, be sure to try it. If it smells sharp at first sniff, give it some time to get the main idea of the noses behind the perfume. Respectably delicious!

Lalique is a crystal brand famous for its elegant designs in Art Nouveau and Art Deco style. So I was fascinated by the bottle. The longevity and sillage are moderate to weak but it is suitable for summer days, almost like an eau de toilette. A sharp citrus smell reminiscent of lime in the top notes quickly replaced by a green jasmine in the middle. After 20-30 minutes, it is possible to smell a slightly sweet cafe latte. The sense of sweetness comes from the pear, rather than sugar. It can be defined as a skin scent in a creamy and powdery way. At the bottom it reminds me of YSL Black Opium and DG The Only One. Looking at the common notes before buying, I thought it would smell like JC Viva la Juicy or BF Sweet Sunrise Fantasy. But this is less sweet, more spicy from those. Cardamom feels a bit masculine, it get mixed with citrus in Soleil. Actually, cardamom was beautiful only in Versace Crystal Noir, imho. Soleil by Lalique is not groundbreaking, but it's a safe blind buy for summer or as a gift for tender ones. I would have expected more because of the lancement and the hype on YouTube. “I am the endless Light, I am the Sun Child” was a very attractive catchline. Unlike those, who identify solar perfumes with sunscreen and dusty frangipani, I receive summer/sunny weather vibes from this perfume. “The Lalique style” summer is defined by citrus, iced coffee, pear... By the way, the bottle is simply a work of art!

Jana711xx

This was a blind buy, something I seldom do but I was looking for a nice summer perfume and I saw this. I could not get to test it because of the lockdown so I sent for a bottle direct from Lalique. It was not what I was expecting I have to say, on my skin it opens as a very loud Soleil but quickly transforms into something more rouge...very rouge in fact and I love rouge perfumes and I love this!! It is a perfect summer evening perfume and unlike other people it has great sillage and longevity on my skin. Very pleased with my blind buy so much that it has become a new favourite...the only thing is that in the years to come I will smell it and it will remind me of the summer of 2020 and let’s face it it’s a summer that we will all want to forget!! But for now I am loving it!!

Loredana0108

A gourmand for warm weather. A basket full of exotic fruit is what I smell at first. Soon after, a warmer and yummier side takes over the composition . Caramel and fruit yoghurt is what my nose gets , plus a hint of refreshing spiciness ( it's cardamom , probably) . Still, the fragrance is airy enough for summer days. I compare it to Angel Eau Sucree by Mugler . They are not similar at all, but they share the same vibe. And the bottle is the prettiest in my collection, no wonder it won 4th place in fragrantica's awards for the most beautiful bottle. A big like from me !

alexport

Nice sweet fragrance without being too sweet and candy like. Smells a bit like pralines, but very soft.
The sillage wasn't very strong on me, so I will be selling my bottle. If anyone is interested feel free to private message me

Mont_Blue

This perfume is simply charming. A sparkling fruity top note is mollified with the seriousness of a very notorious cardamom. Then, after a few minutes, sandalwood emerges lingering along with a sweet scent, perhaps praline.

It stays nice and classic with a notorious woody that mixes with citrus notes. I bought it without having tried it before and I was not disappointed. nice and not invasive at all.

medusa666

Soleil has a sweet citrusy-grapefruit powdery like jasmine scent. Elegant, sunny perfume.
BUT, although it comes in a nostalgic retro bottle, this new baby has no character...no signature. Smells common.Seems only retro fragrances had 'personality'..

Jacqueline7nt

Light, sweet, fruity almond. There is a milky type smell which maybe comes from the almond. I blind bought this and i am not disappointed. If you want a sweet but sophisticated smell, this works.
It doesn't project much and is more a skin scent for me.
The bottle is beautiful.

menna81

Smells very expensive! Orange fresh squeezed and spicy with creamy sweet base. Smells mature and really unique!

mhdavis

Fruity sweet but not immature. I like it a lot. I get mostly a mix of pear and orange with caramel and praline. Maybe some almond.. I don’t get coffee like others mention. The fruity notes sort of remind me of Versace Eros pour femme, which I actually strongly dislike. However, I’m really enjoying this one. It also kind of reminds me of this escada perfume I used to have back in the day, lol (I think it was sunset heat). Except a waayyy nicer grown up version of it. The longevity is decent as well.

The bottle is gorgeous and I may buy this just to have the beautiful bottle in my collection.

Sensime

Love it... very elegant, soft and different from the others... Longevity about 6-7 hours, moderate sillage.

panda-inc

A lovely perfume, Gourmand but not heavy. It has all the notes that I love, the cardamom, coffee, milk, almond, caramel-sounds like ingredients for a cake, huh. But a KEEPER for me.

Anast4s1a

Coffee with caramel. The bottle is very radiant, the aroma is warm with a creamy aftertaste.
Nothing new, modern gourmetly, pleasant but without character.
A bit boring, but it doesn't spoil the scent.

TheElusive

This perfume is more complex than it looks from the pyramid. It opens fruity-sweet, light and cheerful. It’s a bit basically pleasant at first, but later develops into something more interesting. It settles close to the skin quickly, but after that lasts pretty well. In warm weather I feel caramelised pear and sandalwood. And what a lovely combination it is. In colder weather I feel caramelised pear again and also praline, but not annoyingly sweet.

Soleil is mass-appealing (I like mass-appealing fragrances), but has something unique about it. Also, it’s a well-balanced perfume: it’s not sickeningly sweet, not too deep, but definitely has grounding sandalwood and musk.

Zizonia

The notes are quite gourmand but the perfume is light, sunny and cheerful. I like it because it is not cloying gourmand as the pyramid suggests and is very elegant. I prefer it to most of the new releases.

DrRosie

I smelled this at Neiman, it is a nice light fragrance. I am not sure it is worth the price tag. I will wait for it when an online retailer has it for 1/2 the cost. It did not have a "wow factor for me"

persefoni

A bit citrusy-floral in the beginning, then a gourmand. Messy. Not at all memorable, for me that is. And the bottle looks and feels kitchy when i hold it, although it caught my attention in the store.

Gucci's bluish Cologne of this year, now that was quite a revelation! And i tried 9 new ones yesterday and today... but this Lalique was a thumbs down....

Nil3

I never owned a lalique.
But I gotta say im a huge fan of their appealing bottles!
So pretty.....

COSMICSCENTS

Must have for me and I haven't even tried it. Beautiful bottle makes me feel like the sun is shining softly on me just by looking at the bottle:)

cherelune

While there doesn’t seem to be anything “soleil” about these notes, they look very promising to me! Looks yummy!

COSMICSCENTS

Come to me come to me! :) Finally a beautiful Lalique bottle I can afford. I am loving everything about it, the beautiful bottle, the box, the notes and the ads.

irisartworks

Beautiful bottle, as Olotitan says here, and others have noted. I also like the logo on the box art.

Olotitan

"Magic of the morning sunshine" hmm I don't see any solar notes or anything that would feel like a breeze...
We'll have to see, it definitely feels like a sweet gourmandish perfume. Maybe the inspiration came from breakfast lol just kidding Lalique has been making some fine releases lately and are known for their precious timeless bottles or flankers!
