La Vie est Belle L'Éclat L'Eau de Toilette by Lancôme is a Amber Floral fragrance for women. La Vie est Belle L'Éclat L'Eau de Toilette was launched in 2018. La Vie est Belle L'Éclat L'Eau de Toilette was created by Anne Flipo and Dominique Ropion. Top notes are Mandarin Orange, Grapefruit, Bergamot, Tea and Pink Pepper; middle notes are Orange Blossom, Neroli, Jasmine and Iris; base notes are Musk, Ambroxan, Tahitian Vanilla and Patchouli.

In 2017, Lancôme launches La Vie est Belle L'Éclat as a refreshed floral interpretation of the sweet original La Vie est Belle from 2012. In 2018, its new version - La Vie Est Belle L'Éclat L'Eau de Toilette – comes out.

Like the Eau de Parfum edition, the new La Vie est Belle L'Éclat is described as a sparkling and luminous scent of a fresh oriental-floral composition that represents happiness and freedom. The new version is refreshed with additional citrus accords, notes of pink pepper, tea and neroli.

The bottle of embossed glass is signed by Maison Pochet and designer Catherine Krunas. The fragrance is available as a 50 and 75 ml Eau de Toilette.

neroli... nEroLi... NEROLI!! Dry down is like the original LVEB but seriously... Éclat edt is a neroli overdose! Not sure if I like this or not, I hate returning so I'm hoping it grows on me. Might be better for summertime. The bottle is gorgeous, very mid-century modern in a way.

Divine grace

Heard that its discontinued, couldn't find L'Éclat EDP anywhere so bought this EDT instead and it's so dissapointing oh I regret my purchase. To me it smells dated old fashioned soapy floral orange blossom scent. I had high hopes I guess..

aldinatic

Orange candy popsicle. Realy unique.

kre8tivthinkr

This one is nice, not fbw for me. Very similar to edp l’eclat, which i own and prefer. Poor performance on my skin, I can rarely wear edt even “strong” ones as I prefer to not reapply.

Opens with candied mandarin orange that can be a bit much on initial spray, settles into a nicer version, sometimes i can smell the herbal notes of the tea, other times it’s just a wonderful creamy orange. Heart is sweet and lovely to steal sniffs as it evolves. I think ambroxan isn’t the best on my skin in general but it plays decently enough if a bit cloddish at times. Dry down is nice enough, sweet and close to skin, non descript. This would be lovely on the right skin, just not mine.

lizaan

Blind buy for me, accidentally got this instead of the EDP though, oh well… I think this one was a fail for me.

At first spray it’s really strong white florals and citrus for me, after those calm down a bit I detect some iris in the mix with patchouli and grapefruit in the background. In the dry down it gets musky and powdery, the vanilla is there but it’s quite shy.

I think this one strays quite far from the original DNA of LVEB but it is there but only barely, mostly in the dry down. It is strong and behaves more like an EDP to me.

There is something a bit screechy about this one for me and I rarely react negatively to fragrances but it almost gave me a headache and made me nauseous. I felt a bit overwhelmed like when you sniff a lot of perfumes at the counter and need to cleanse your pallet with coffee beans, no bueno.

This is a citrus/white floral scent. Very sophisticated and classy, not overly mature (you can definitely wear this is your late 20s/early 30s). Makes you feel like a classy lady. Very work appropriate, especially if you work in a corporate environment or in a luxurious hotel reception.
It sits very close to the skin - you'll get random waves of this when moving and people may smell you if they hug you. Longevity is quite poor - 2 hours and it's gone. A pleasant, classy, simple perfume.

aldinatic

I love the texture of the bottle, I love this..I'm obsessed with the fine sweetness.
Orange candy, made of (almost) pure sugar. I agree

SophieGlnd

I blind bought this perfume because I found it at a very good price. I like Lancôme as a brand in general and floral fragrances, especially orange blossom, so I thought it could not go too wrong.

It's a sweet and strong floral fragrance, with a good longevity (around 6h) and projection for an EDT. At first I thought it smelled too "young" and simple for my taste, it reminded me of orange candy but after a few minutes it gets more powdery and has a more mature vibe.

Very feminine and bright perfume but not sexy, more innocent and cheerful. I think I am going to love wearing it during fall on sunny and cold days.

My mom has or had a 30ml bottle of this (I don't think I've ever smelt it on her tho). I have smelt it from the cap and sprayed into the air and WOW. It smells freaking good. Floral, and sweet. This fragrance is probably why I started collecting fragrances and why I like Mont Blanc Individuel so much.

bel.gravia

The prettiest soft floral sweet powdery orange blossom I have ever smelled.

$kank$mell$

The citruses open this fragrance and then dissapear very quickly. Then I can smell the neroli, orange blossom, and a little bit of the iris. I get a candied orange blossom at this opening stage. Anything fresh is fleeting.

In its second stage the florals seem to be competing here and things get kinda heady floral if you know what I mean. The Jasmine is the overall winner in that war. Anyone who hates overly floral fragrances better beware.

I pickup the pepper and patchouli faintly in the background. I would not call this fragrance young or innocent at all. As I wore it I kept getting images of an older woman wearing this. A woman who is 50+ yrs old. Its a very floral sweet fragrance and lasts a long time on me for an eau de toilette.

Overall, I would describe this fragrance as a candied Jasmine, orange blossom, and neroli fragrance. Its very floral, sweet, mature, warm, and lasts a long time for an EDT. DO NOT WEAR THIS IN THE HEAT OF SUMMER-I can only imagine it being nauseating with its floral sweetness.

I thought it would be fresher more citric version of la vie est belle, but its not.

fragem

Sweet and beautiful scent, but juvenile. Personally I find myself gravitating towards more mature but still youthful scents.

scentist

It's a quite festive perfume in my opinion and reminds me of several perfumes, YSL Cinema, Givenchy Organza First Light among others but it can also be worn as a daytime perfume. It has a mature vibe to it as others have commented. I would never spray this not even once but distribute 1 drop behind my ears or spray it in the air and walk through it because it's so strong and overwhelming.

Nilaby

The opening of this perfume smells just like alien flora futura, the dry down is la vie est belle eclat edp. It’s like if alien and la vie est belle had a baby this is what it would smell like. The opening has citrusy green notes then it dries down to this sparkling sweetness, you get the best of both worlds with this perfume. I love it, perfect for spring and summer. And it lasts forever!

arqnataliaferrer

I smell like a orange candy, those tiny and round made of (almost) pure sugar.
I want to lick myself until i get diabetes.

>Happy Cat<

Fresh and a bit sharp, has a mature vibe. Do not blind buy 🙅♀️

agj

Bought this purely because of the beautiful bottle and I wanted to add it to my current LVEB collection. This is my least favorite flanker out of the ones that I have tried (original, florale, en rose) it just seems like a very basic, almost watered down version with a strange note added that I can not quite pick up.

Zentocs

I don't buy usually mainstream parfum (I prefer Niche) but this "Stay Home" thing brings new situations- I order several new parfumes including some mainstream like this...I had no idea how it will smell- I hope it will be in my home at wendesday...The bottle is beautifule and the notes too...I'm waiting some powdery orenge flower with good freshness...I come back when I could try...Oh and I don't know the original LVEB!
EDIT: I have it now...in the beginning is very fresh, neroli scent then becomes some soft sweet feeling with it, maybe the jasmine and the iris... excellent...very good!!! And really long lasting! Full bottle worthy.
EDIT 2: I went to my Mother and spayed 2 little- she asked me from 3 meters in the garden, what is this beautifule parfume on me and did I sprays the full bottle? Ha-ha-ha. So this is really strong with huge sillage.

It's hiper strong like an Amouage!

flowerbomb81

I expected a light, fresh, citrus, floral. I got green powdery floral scented pencil shavings that I did not get on with. It is the first perfume that has made me feel nauseous. Resulted in me getting a headache too. Maybe I sprayed too much to actually smell it as I couldn't at first.

Sonyakaroliinaq

I just got this from sales today.
I'm so glad that i picked this! It really reminds me of Jean paul gaultier perfumes wich i also love very much.
This is really pretty, sparkling, happy scent. This could easily be someones signature scent.
In my opinion, you can't never go wrong with Lancome. One of my favorite brand.

Cherrybubble

Ooh this is good 👍🏻 Smells so much more expensive than it is. Truly delicious fragrance. I've been blown away by the LVEB flankers considering I'm not overly keen on LVEB itself. This one is heavy on the orange blossom and my nose keeps getting violet big time even though Iris is listed here as the purple flower. It has a slight bubblegum sweetness that rounds it off nicely making this perfect for any occasion

rociito.moon

On my skin, is like a nicest and more friendly version of. J.P. Gaultier Classique. I wish it had a better and stronger sillage, but I can live with that (I supossed is my fault for settling with an EDT, instead of keep searching for the EDP).
I don't think is very similar to the original LVEB (wich I absolutely adore), but it has it's essence and is a beautiful fragance.

bianca_11106

This truly is an amazing fragrance, and so underrated, and I'm glad that it's not popular like the original or like other Lancome fragrances because I don't want to smell like everybody else out there.

It's a bright and beautiful orange blossom, almost sparkly but also soft and cozy, a bit powdery in the drydown (something I really appreciate in a fragrance) from the iris and cashmeran which are very prominent to my nose.

It's a very elegant, romantic, feminine and uplifting fragrance, it's by far the best one from the entire line, similar to the edp but not that sweet, this one is absolutely gorgeous.

I wore it a lot this summer, I even wore it a few days in a row, which almost never happens because I like to wear a different fragrance everyday, and I'm falling in love with it more and more and crave it and I can't get enough of it, that's how much I love it!

The packaging is not important to me, but this bottle is lovely, it really compliments the fragrance. ❤️❤️❤️

temo

Oh my goodness! Shines so bright!
In my opinion, this Eau de Toilette version is the best yet! (And there have been many many flankers!) “L’ ECLAT”. Is the perfect word for this masterpiece. The dominance of Orange Blossom makes this a great summer choice. If you don’t care for Orange Blossom this wouldn’t be for you. Light, fresh, & airy, it is a masterful combination of floral, fruit, molecule. So happy that I gave this a chance because I find it very different than all the other LVEB’s that came before it. They finally achieved perfection! Way to go Lancome! I’ve been told it is “Paris in a bottle”.

masako_30

Last night, this perfume seduced me. The reason why is a mystery to me.
It was pure gold that perfectly blended itself with my skin.
Is it possible there's some honey in top notes of 'L'Éclat l'Edt'? Just a little bit in the opening? Or else it's me who's imagining all this!
Perhaps, this is the secret reason why I find it so alluring.
I'll need another vial.

Gourmandlover

I heard someone saying this is a limited edition, does anyone know if that's true? I hope it will be part of their standard collection.

Gourmandlover

This was a blind buy as I could find it for a good price. I love the eclat edp, it's an intense sweet floral to me. It has great staying power and sillage. You can clearly smell the lveb dna in this one too. I sprayed this yesterday for the first time and the first blast was pretty strong and I had a meh feeling about it. I was a little dissapointed, I already thought about selling it or decant it away. But after it had settled down a bit, I loved it! I don't understand why that happens lol! Those perfumes are the most interesting ones. It's such a lovely sweet white floral with a beautiful and romantic orange blossom. It's really uplifting too. Although it has a bit lighter feel than eclat edp, it still has very good performance. I will enjoy wearing this a lot. Now I'm even more curious to try other flankers from this line. So far they are all big likes or loves for me.

AHeartLikeMine

I first smelled L'Eclat back when I was just getting into fragrances. It turned me off LVEB entirely. Despite featuring more of the notes that I'd typically like, L'Eclat smells absolutely sickening to me. I don't smell more citrus at all, just an overwhelming, cloying syrup. My takeaway is this: even if you hate L'Eclat, give the original LVEB a chance. And if you find LVEB too strong, you might find an impression/dupe that softens the edges that you don't like.

MoniSK

Its pleasant, starts more floral than fruity later more fruity than floral, very girly Im glad i picked edt over edp, last 4 hours for sure. One of the most beautiful bottles.

minizelda

What I notice at first is orange blossom, then pink pepper, and then citrus. Perfect for sunny spring days!

Light, airy, flowery and citrusy.

Sxaninha

Somehow the powderyness reminds me of Jean Paul Gaultiers Classique Eau Fraiches Editions.. Hmmm. I‘m not sure yet if it‘s a like or not let see if it suits me. The perfume itself it‘s beautiful!

sarah.brooks

Just received this parfum and it's such a beautiful parfum .. first the neroli nicely done grapefruit and tangerine give it a very fresh and uplifting youthful aroma very nice lancome and life is even more beautiful..

sarah.brooks

My bottle is on it way from Paris I will update soon as I wear it..

Karineabdel

Smells different Than other LVEB and much better that LVEB éclat edp

iamoir

LVEB L'Éclat EDT gets hate either because it's not sweet as the Original or because people are tired with flankers already. I must admit I find the compositions of the flankers more successful than the original's and I appreciate that they're trying to cater to different audiences keeping the LVEB id everytime.
This one though, seems to be the most distant one from the usual LVEB core. Lancome themselves state that it's the first non-gourmand scent of LVEB, and it's true. The Éclat edt is bitter and perfumey, not candy sweet certainly.
There's a kinda sweetened orange blossom contrasting with bitter neroli; it smells also green for some minutes and has a fuzzy synthetic undernote. I've smelled the overall effect in an other perfume too, now that I think of it, it must be Poison Girl Unexpected, only LVEB L'Éclat EDT lasts longer (full six hours). It is fresh spicy. A perfume for summer that doesn't smell bland. That blackcurrant does make an appearance too.
The drydown has mainly ambroxan, iris and neroli. A bit masculine, I guess a man can wear it too. Even though it's an edt it is quite long lasting. Sillage is strong initially but it calms and remains close to the skin. For the ones that really really did not like the original.

FabulouslyLazy

I'm definitely not a fan of the original because I can't stand the praline note. This is just perfect: pure orange blossom on a sugary background. Sweet but not obnoxiously gourmand. Lovely in the springtime.

green_green_eyes

Alien Extraordinaire mixed with Flowerbomb EDT. Original LVEB is a big, sickly sweet fruitchouli “no” for me but this flanker is simply very pleasant surprise. As I understand all the “dislikes” come from LVEB fans who may find L’Eclat weak and not interesting/not sweet enough. However, I reckon that if it was independently marketed perfume it would be a S/S 2018 hit.
Yes, it’s not groundbreaking formulation but, in my opinion, an interesting scent for anyone who wants sensual, playful scent that can be used without a risk of suffocating people around ;) I like it. I guess the only downside is longevity (3 hours at most, a bit longer in hair),

sarah.brooks

Well I have not got a chance to smell this yet but I know it's another winner will buy once it hits the US market..til then

minizelda

I need to test this!

Update: I did and I'm outraged by the gauge showing more dislikes than likes. It's lighter than EDP perfect for spring and summer. I have to say there is not a single one in this collection that I dislike, maybe I'm biased, but this whole line is just amazing to my nose.

Anna Mem.

For de toilette it's really strong and last almost all day, the smell reminds me GUERLAIN Insolence, I think it's more for women, not girly enough.. but sexy scent..
I like it.

Kon-nos91

As I always say for Lancome, it makes masterpieces when it comes to perfumes but too many editions of a best seller is a good idea, or not? For me, not. Although I hate LVEB and I explained why in the past, I have a 'favorite' edition that is the Florale EDT one. (Is it still available?)

For L' eclat edition now. I smelled EDP and it was like a simplified version of the heavy original one. The EDT is a whole new story! Soft again but with a character. It's a very orangie edition of LVEB without being sickly sweet or bitter. If you're into citrus/powedery perfumes, give it a try and don't forget to give it some time too. Soon it will reveal the original's DNA but trust me it's not boring at all. The opening is promising, the heart amazing, but the base a bit strange.

When I smell it, it's like the world around me goes on a 'mute' state for seconds and a shinny smile comes in mind. That's it. It also gives me the image of a white hard candy. Crazy, right? I have to congratulate the perfumer since the name gives it justice and I rarely get motions from a perfume. Well done Lancome for once again! Other houses are releasing weaker and weaker perfumes and are less creative. Why? If I could desribe it quickly, this would be: White, smile, powder, orange blossoms, French, soft, from another world, dressy but free.

boannika

@perfumecritic: It was driving me crazy, I needed to know. Makes sense.. I do love orange blossom. Thank you :)

perfumecritic

@boannika: orange blossom often imparts a “grape” accent to fragrances :-)

boannika

I can't believe I just hit the like button on something from the LVEB range. This is actually very nice. There is a certain note in it that resembles a grape- flavoured lip gloss ( with a roller baLL on top)that was very popular amongst young girls in my country in the late 90's and early 00's. Maybe someone with a much more refined sense of smell could tell me what that is? I'm smelling the same thing in JPG Classique Intense ( the gold bottle, even though I really dislike it). Completely different perfume from the original as you can tell by the notes. I can' t believe I'm writing this, but there just might be a LVEB for everyone.

UPDATE: I found it online for a great price, so I ended up buying it. Ok, it DOES have a bit of the LVEB DNA in it, just a looooot less sweet and overpowering, I would go as far as to say that it has a tiny bit of saltiness in it. A toned down, fresher, more floral version of the original (with a sweetish undertone), good for spring and maybe even for summer, especially for people who want to dabble into gourmands and want to start with something lighter. Longevity and sillage far from impressive, at least, on my skin.

II. UPDATE: Correction, medium sillage and longevity. It often happens to me that when I first buy a new perfume, I can't smell it on myself, then later after wearing it for a few days, it becomes more prominent smelling. It's weird, I know, most people experience the exact opposite. God, this is a long review.

Berta15

I have to say I'm a little bit disappointed.I know that it's a refreshed version of L'éclat edp but where are the gourmand notes? The "tasty neroli"?
This is no longer La vie est Belle, this is a completely new scent. It's a little bit like Twilly and the other strong neroli & orange blossom ,jasmine scents.
The opening is my favorite part,a fresh sparkling citrus and neroli mix-just lovely. How it start to calm down the neroli becomes stronger with the sweet orange blossom and with citrus notes in the background.
Definitely a very strong white floral and musky scent. After time it becomes more floral and creamy(I think there is tuberose too because it smells like a creamy tuberose with orange blossom).
It reminds me very much Twilly or Today from Avon and this type of scents.
It's very simple white floral scent, nothing special but still very feminine ,lovely and very french.
The dry down is very musky.
I recommend for those who like these type of scents:a little oldschool & old ladish white floral scent.
I think it will be perfect for spring and fall.
And the bottle it's just absolutely amaaaazing.
I'm not in love with this one and I hope Lancôme make another or at least better gourmand "tasty" floral flanker/edition.

Arlene-Beatrix

Top notes are very sweet and thick, but later it smells really good. Base notes are pleasant, well rounded and smooth. A better version of LVEB. By the way, aren't there too many flankers already? I really don't know if people who aren't hobbyists, understand anything from this flankers complete madness.

Catty

I love the original, including all LVEB flankers released until now. Lancome is a maison that really cares about the Quality their scents, respecting their customers. Each perfume from them offers super Quality, havig an excellent cost-benefit; what I have not seen lately by Chanel, for example (many scents don´t last longer as in the past, and this Gabrielle release sorry...for me a joke).

Almost all scents: Poeme, La Vie est Belle, Hypnose, Miracle, O de Lancome...all last Long, projects well and for a very good hours and the quality of the ingredients are amazing. I just heard that the original LVEB was made by 63 ingredients and half of them are from natural origin...that´s why this scent has a top Quality.

If it´s Lancome, 80% of chances that the flankers are very good. They are super welcome!

Berta15

This is not about negativity or democracy or it is for spring or summer or fall. But there are a lot of people with different taste and different personality and when them don´t fit the "mother scent" than thats why we have different flankers, because everybody(maybe) want her own la vie est belle and with flankers we can make it,and we can own one.Every single flanker is very important, and every single has own personality and charm and they fit for a lot of people who don´t like the original LVEB.I love every single flanker and I don´t care that there are that much(I don´t rate limited editions) because I have an opportunity choose from which also represent my personality and taste.
So we don´t have to battle with each other and also have hateful opinion and scornful review.
I think Lancome do an excelent job so far and I hope they make a lot of flankers, because these flankers makes me happy.

bibibling

That IS a beautiful bottle! That's like one of those 'I don't care what you smell like, you are coming home with me!' bottles!

I noticed this has A LOT of notes shared with Flowerbomb's La Vie En Rose series though, especially the 2016 edition. The top row of notes is identical and it also shares rose, jasmine, patchouli and amber/ambroxan. I wonder if it will end up smelling similar too, but hopefully the amounts of the ingredients will be different enough that we won't have that 'Who's flanker am I smelling?'feeling.
