She’s a beautiful linear vanilla—she’s just light as a whisper. Outremer Vanille disappears quickly, however, it is the same scent and projects more. I have to press my nose to my skin to pick up VWI. Not worth the hefty price tag IMO.

semisweet

I like the smell of this, sweet airy vanilla. But there’s a perfume called Real Time - Bella Vanilla at the drugstore that smells almost exactly the same in the dry down and it’s a fraction of the price.

BunnyVanille

The scent is vanilla, marshmallow, and slightly melted and rich caramel.

It is a sweet and fascinating scent as if you are in a dessert cafe with your lover enjoying a moment with a black tea, during the date.

Base notes are very sweet.
It's like melted chocolate and caramel. The caramel that first started melting on a date-which mentioned before-as the atmosphere ripes around the evening, it begins to melt with each other, and it become one rich sweet bedtime.

Vanilla reveals its presence as if appealing to me so that I can know who I am with again.

This is my favorite vanilla perfume that I bought blind.
If you like vanilla or roasted / baked desserts, I recommend you to try it at least once.

StinkyKat

I ordered a sample and loved it ! It was very oily and smelled delicious. It lasted 1 day on my skin and clothes, it was sooo good I ordered the full bottle. I am so disappointed 😞 it is not as oily, smells like alcohol and I have to press my nose to my wrist to smell it. It is as if someone had diluted the essence with alcohol. I can't believe it's so different from the sample. I ordered from a legit perfume store in Vienna. Can someone please help me out? Should I wait? Does anyone have the same issue? Thanks in advance for your help.

fyre92

This is an extrait so it’s good thick and oily. The sillage and longevity is there. But again it’s an extrait so it’s supposed to be on the intimate side. This is performed add longevity and vanilla to whatever complimentary fragrance you put on top of it.

SSBurn

This is giving me vanilla extract with a pinch of cinnamon. It just smells kind of synthetic. May just be on my skin bc this seems to me a cult fave. So he glad I ddnt blind buy.

Jezeleah

This is my purest vanilla. Very similar to vaniglia by Mazzolari, but then there you go! It is very oily, and therefore only suitable to wear on skin, and maybe the inside of heavily layered clothing items. Great on it’s own, but also for layering. I use it to layer with only my absolute favourite fragrances.
The hype is real. Blows my vanilla 28 out of the water. I would be willing to sell this for a chance to invest in Guerlain’s Spiritueuse double vanille, I often think sometimes. I go back and forth on it. Sticking to this due to the hefty price of the latter.
Update:
I did purchase spiritueuse double vanille! This is now going to be sold. Probably will put on mercari soon. I would also love to know how fragrances are bought and sold here on fragrantica. Please PM me if you have advise.

Sniffathon

This is a strange one in terms of performance. This stuff is OILY!!! Beware spraying on clothes. Even on skin, it sits as an oily sheen which does not absorb. What's even stranger, considering this is an oil, and a parfum at 50% concentration, I have to get in real close to my skin at risk of oiling up my nose to smell it. It doesn't perform anywhere near as expected, and the oiliness makes it a little challenging when planning to wear it. A comment below mentioned they use it as an oil which makes the most sense!
Anyway, the fragrance itself is a wonderful caramel-y vanilla that smells mouthwatering but not cloying. The orchid, as in many other vanilla based compositions, is always a welcomed addition as it adds the slightest floral element to balance this as a gourmand. Not a hint of synthetic-ness. But alas I am still decluttering due to the performance mentioned above, and I don't have time in my large collection to sit with something that is not a complete love!

cyclone1391

Completely indistinguishable from Vaniglia.

Magni6

This is identical to Vaniglia by Mazorrali, absolutely no difference what so ever .
Same stuff

Sleekdecadence

There is a gummybear note in it which makes it a little childish. I have to admit it's beautiful but it makes me feel like it is a "sugarfree" extra sweet product with artificial sweetener. I find the body spray from Lush Let the good times role instead of this is a better sale with the same -or bigger?- sillage and longevity, but a more complex scent and a cheaper option if you like gourmands.

Bibi16

Guys, when I say, this, Vanilla2 by Maison tahite and Vanille absolu by Montale, same juice in different bottles.

Vanilla ice cream galore, vanilla absolu being the realest & sweetest but a bit harsh in the opening (local corner store vanilla ice cream), Vanille west idies (superstore vanilla ice cream) and Vanilla2 being the best & smoothest of the three (Paris Gourmet restaurant, creamiest vanilla ice cream).

Now take your pick.

Xela_529

A beautiful vanilla. Yes, it’s a bit linear.. but I appreciate it in this application. You can really tell it’s made of high quality ingredients, as some of her cheaper counterparts aren’t nearly up to par. (I’m looking at you Outremer Vanille).

Even though it’s sweet, there’s something natural about this. I think that’s the main difference between her & Vaniglia. Vaniglia is slightly more sugary & synthetic. I like both, but I think Vanille West Indies has that raw edge, it makes her more appealing for warmer days in spring, whereas Vaniglia I want to wear on the coldest days in winter.

My only complaint is sometimes the atomizer goofs up. I saw someone else mentioned this. Idk why it happens!

Update: I layered her with Chloe Vanilla Planifolia & OMG. STUNNING. One of my fav scent profiles I’ve ever smelled.

bekah.beth

This is extremely oily so I use it as such. I spray it into my hands and rub on my skin. I would never spray on my clothes. As far as the scent, I get a very warm and gooey cotton candy flavored frosting. It is the epitome of gourmand. I don’t get any fruits, florals, musk, powder or woods just a simple very, VERY, sweet linear fragrance.

I have Outremer Vanille and I find them to be almost identical but this doesn’t contain the metallic notes, lasts 10x longer. It is also much smoother and warm. I like to use Outremer to spritz on top of other fragrances that I want to sweeten up. West Indies is yummy by itself or used as a base!

KashaxStella

Cloying sweetness. Exactly the same as Vaniglia Mazzolari and Vanille Absolu Montale.
I have a 1 mL sample if anyone is interested.

Jazz93

Im currently testing this fragrance.I like this fragrance its sweet with a very natural vanilla. Its very long lasting so far I’m at 8 hours and can still smell it. The reason why I wouldn’t buy it because of the orchid note. It is not loud but my nose is picking it up stronger then I expected. Overall a beautiful fragrance.

Adjr1087

What I really love about this Vanilla fragrance and makes it stand out from the millions of vanilla fragrances we have out there, is the consistency of this one. It is more oily than a regular perfume so this really sticks and adheres to your skin to last all day. I normally use this as a base for other Vanilla heavy perfumes. This week I have been layering it with Escapade Gourmande by Maison Mataha and have been smelling like a cake that was just baked in the oven. Warm, sweet, fluffy and so cozy. If you are a big fan of vanilla, I think this and Indult by Tihota are the 2 main vanilla fragrances you need in your collection.

Perazim

Guys - is the sprayer on your bottle so punchy too?
Yes it is oily but the spray thingy makes it worse, because it shoots the juice out with a little too much power,
It is not a fine mist.
Is mine defective?

KELIZ

Okay, I finally feel that I can rest. I’ve been madly searching for the perfect vanilla fragrance for me. I wanted a true vanilla specimen that:
• Wouldn’t be crowded with too many other notes.
• Slightly sweet & a comforting true vanilla scent.
• Moderate to strong projection.
• Lasting power of at least 4 + hours.
There are many vanilla frags that smell beautiful for about 5 minutes then they disappear. I’ve had the most expensive to the least & finding the scent is not the problem - having it last beyond an hour has been my challenge.
I’m still testing this but so far it’s looking like I may have finally found my Vanilla.

xxdarkstarxx

Vanille West Indies is a beautiful, warm, cozy, creamy, delicious, gooey, caramel & vanilla fluffy cloud. Nothing in this composition is synthetic smelling. VWI smells like a photorealistic vanilla bundt cake that came straight out of the oven – not overly sweet but the perfect amount of sweetness and density that you just want to eat the whole cake. It’s drizzled with warm caramel sauce on top that seeps through the cake making it super moist. It’s not a decadent vanilla & caramel cake but think of a fluffy vanilla bundt cake that has that full bodied vanilla flavour. Also I find there is a lactonic quality to it which gives it this creamy milky touch - think of those creamy caramel squares & white chocolate being melted at low heat. In the dry down it very much does remind me of the scent that Cabbage Patch Dolls had - a powdery creamy vanilla scent.

VWI is in the same wheelhouse as Outremer Vanille & Mazzolari Vaniliga however Outremer Vanille lacks the sillage & longevity and Vaniligia is more vanilla dominant, it's sweeter & the orchid note is more prominent (which gives off a bit of a synthetic vanilla vibe - but in the best way possible).

This fragrance is oil based so it will last awhile on skin however the sillage & projection is moderate. Regardless, VWI is in my top most complimented fragrances ever. Yes - vanilla is perfect for those cooler days however I find that it radiates beautifully in the heat & layers perfectly with other vanilla fragrances because it’s not overpowering but people will be wondering where is the vanilla cake that they are smelling is coming from.

VWI is in my top 5 vanilla fragrances of all time. I’m already on my 2nd bottle and I’ve only had it for just over a year. If you are a vanilla lover or know anyone who loves vanilla, don’t hesitate to blind buy this. You wont be disappointed!

Ayalm

This is the best vanilla fragrance I have ever tried. It smells like the grown up version of aquolina pink sugar. The vanilla here is beautiful, elegant, and sweet but in the best way possible, like you just waked in a french bakery and smell the baked pastries through the air. This perfume is the sweet version of van cleef arpels orchidee vanille. If you enjoy gourmand fragrances that smell like freshly baked goods, you will love this one.

Youlerie

You literally smell delicious and the little hint of orchid gives the fragrance that certain je ne sais quoi. One of the most exquisite vanilla gourmands ever!

CoCo77

Launched in 2007, Vanille West Indies is delicious vanilla, burnt sugar, and faint orchid blended in perfect harmony. Seemingly a summer fragrance but to me an all-season gourmand delight for day or night. (I'd be more excited if it lasted longer on me.)✿

Longevity on me: weak to moderate
Scent family: Amber Vanilla

Mcrus001

This is such a beast Mode fragrance on me. I layered this with BBW lotion vanilla confetti sparkle. All day at work I smelled me, like cake but so much more elevated. It’s 10 hours later and I still smell it on me! Idk what everyone else is saying. It’s super strong. I love ittttttt

marilyn62

First off, I absolutely love the simplicity of this perfume bottle. It is chic and stunning on my vanity. The perfume itself is a gorgeous cotton candy vanilla, almost exactly like Outremer Vanille (which I adore!), only with better longevity and oilier. I do get more of the orchid on the dry down and it's beautiful. I spray my perfumes on my clothes to get the max wear out of them and this one is oily so I have to be careful when spraying this one. Vanille West Indies is one of my favorite vanillas in my collection and I will always repurchase since it lasts way longer and smells almost exactly like my beloved Outremer Vanille!

Sheylor.Oliver

This is a vanilla lovers DREAM! Gooey caramel and sensual orchid makes for the perfect year round scent. I’m totally obsessed with this one and I have 30+ vanilla fragrances.

RisingChaos

A fairly pure vanilla-caramel with a light floral airiness. Same note breakdown as Mazzolari Vaniglia and it indeed smells similar, but this is much more restrained in its candied sweetness. Soft creamy vanilla with a bit of browned sugar, and indeed very oily as many older reviews mention. Nice, consistent moderate scent bubble for 2-3hr, longevity 10-12hr.

Diamiadan

This fragrance is absolutely breathtaking. Such a fine airy vanilla. Not cloying, not too sweet. It sits beautifully on the skin. I catch wiffs of the perfume on my skin throughout the day and it’s so pleasant. It does not give me a headache or nausea like other vanilla perfumes. This is a work of art. It’s long lasting as well. Enjoy!

ValkyrieVeronica

Uncomplicated quality vanilla for minimalists.
Heaven for gourmand lovers.
Linear in the best possible way.

maci2222

Top notch vanilla.

Millapetrovich

This is probably the best vanilla in my collection.
I had to get a bottle as soon as tried a sample - it’s THAT good.
I don’t really know how to explain but if you like sweet vanillas, you need to try this. All the notes are very well blended, the caramel balances the vanilla, it’s like smelling a fresh batch of sugar cookies that just came out of the oven.
A must have for gourmand lovers!

grisa36

If you love vanilla, you will love this. I bake cookies and often time I strive to smell like a fresh batch of cookies. This hits the spot. It's not loud but the scent last all day, likely because the perfume is more has a more oily feel. It's not a loud fragrance but it is very long-lasting. It's great for layering. It's one of my most complimented fragrances.

What’s not to like? I, for one, absolutely love it. I have quite a few Vanillas in my perfume collection and this one is a big love. It projects in a BIG way and though it is pricy, I think I got a quality perfume here with a creamy, floral and sweet vanilla that transports me to Paradise!
Wonderful perfume all around and a must sniff for vanilla lovers!!

fanntonyoscar

VWI is beautiful, don’t get me wrong… but there are others that beat it. It’s cotton candy at first, then the dry down reveals a more caramel vanilla. Mazzolari Vaniglia proved to be stronger, sweeter, and longer lasting once I rebottled it, so I’d rather stick with that one.

charcharl

I love vanillas and am still trying to find the perfect one. I blind bought this and it just arrived today. Took 2 weeks to arrive to the UK after being sent back once by DHL because of some paperwork error on their part - so do check your DHL page regularly. Contacted customer service and they were very helpful. I'm quite disappointed that this smells exactly like Vanille Absolu by Montale - overly sweet, plasticky and linear. The projection is moderate. I need to wear it for a couple more days before I can comment on longevity. I sold vanille abosolu because I preferred Kayali Vanilla 28 - it's more complex, has more depth and projects well. I don't think I'll be reaching for this as much as Vanilla 28. Blind buy fail.

Edit: I’m enjoying this a lot more than vanille absolu once it settles. It doesn’t have the same plasticky note and lasts a whole 12 hour shift on me. Have used it to go to bed and my sheets now smell deliciously vanilla-caramel like. Not worth £120 but I think it is somewhere between a like and a love for me.

alyssarware

I completely agree with the last comment, this smells like cotton candy bubble gum and that's all I'm getting from it

buster21

I finally have this twenty-two days after ordering it. It’s funny because a perfume from London arrived today also but I ordered it last week.
So I had a somewhat skeptical attitude about the perfume and the shipment of this to my house, Vanille West Indies has a strong caramel vanilla scent that I found disappointing ( given the hype over this) the first couple of hours wearing but its tenacity won me over. This is more powerful than the other compared weak, fleeting vanilla of VM. I thought about its long journey to me, in the raffia grass box, inside a plastic white kitchen bag with strange gravel underneath. I have never received a perfume in this unique way before, kind of endearing and mysterious. I do like, not love, this sweet vanilla blend once it softens over time to becomes a cosy skin scent. I have plans to layer Vanille West Indies with other perfume. I think I need more time to get to know this vanilla oil blended creation.
EDIT- I do not have time (tick tock ) to get to know this perfume; we sadly departed when I said “it’s not you, it’s me.”

buster21

Hi everyone! Can someone PM me about the delivery time of perfume to the US? I ordered it directly from their website.
I did not get a tracking # and they emailed me that it was delivered. Delivered to a USPS
postal office? Please let me know, thanks.
EDIT- thanks butterbean, I guess they are on island time. Don’t worry, be happy!

DarlingLovely

Got my hands on a decant. A really lovely vanilla perfume. Starts out kinda fruity though. It projects decently for the first couple of hours, but eventually becomes a skin scent. Gourmandesque.

RDearborn01

This is now available on their site.

missmaddiemac

If anyone is selling this, either a FB or a small decant, please message me! I’ve been dying to try it and can’t find it anywhere

*edit* I was just able to order it as of today (jan 5), woohoo!

AmirKing

December? 😑

iszzieanna

Smells exactly like vaniglia. Sweet, fluffy, marshmallows and caramel. It’s like a cupcake

AmirKing

It’s sold out everywhere until June, they currently making new batches and letting them macerate to be sold by June. I’ve looked through every vendor and there are all sold out till then.

tia t

where can I buy this in Australia? I can't seem to access the website and heard this wasn't available until June 2021

EndlessFragranceHolic

Where can I buy this? Can anyone locate me, please?

Lalunalynn

To me this is reminiscent of a vanilla candle. Slightly artificial. But the vanilla is gorgeous and the longevity is good. Still strong after 7 hours 👍

Edit: So my husband just walked in, pulled a face and asked if I'd had the candle going. So yep, vanilla candle for sure!

vanillaliebhaber

Wow, this is beautiful! It's a light, sweet and luscious vanilla. It doesn't smell cheap, nausciating or fake the way a lot of vanilla perfumes can. It really melds into your skin and is just absolutely beautiful.

DaringDaisy13

I really really love this fragrance. It’s very sweet and pleasant on me. It gives off a creamy chocolate note to my nose but others who smell me say it’s a very gourmand vanilla. I get compliments from women and men on this perfume but the men are really obsessed lol. Everyone is always trying to find out where the dessert smell is coming from. If you’re not looking for a very sweet and dessert-like vanilla fragrance I would not recommend this!! It’s definitely for those who prefer a sweet and gourmand type fragrance. It’s long lasting and once sprayed on clothes it can be detected for weeks!!

Kots_Tanya

One of the best sweet sugary caramel, A bit smoky vanillas, I love how addicting it smells on the skin, the dry down is so pretty a bit powdery smoky from orchid caramel vanilla. This is a true cake essence vanilla, the quality is outstanding. I would say its very much equal to Tihota Indult. I love both and they’re pretty similar in my opinion. Vanille West Indie compared to Vaniglia Mazzolari but there is something that makes it a bit cloying in Vaniglia and not as good as this one. I did let go of my Vaniglia, but super happy to have Vanille West Indie.

Jacqueline7nt

A beautifully sweet vanilla. Not cloying but so sweet that you feel it is artificial. The Caramel and Vanilla dominate and the orchid probably lightens it a bit but i am sure there are some fruits in there. It is a lovely, juicy, edible sweet vanilla.

Vanille West Indies has a wonderful light but sweet projection. I love it.
It reminds me of Molinard Vanille Fruitee, especially at dry down. And i enjoy that!

Aleksandra009

The perfect vanilla. Period. Very natural not cloying sweet. Last forever. It's also great for layering. I want to drink it from the bottle LOL. Drives men crazy

msdespondent

I love Mazzolari’s Vaniglia and am saving up for a full bottle. So when I read so many reviewers comparing it to Vanille West Indies, I couldn’t help but get myself a decant. They are incredibly similar. But I won’t be choosing Vaniglia over West Indies just because of the price, the slight nuanced difference in the dry down is the deciding factor for me.

While Vaniglia is exquisite pure vanilla ice cream, West Indies is a chocolate dipped magnum bar. On my skin, and to my nose, the chocolate really starts to appear in the dry down. Don’t get me wrong, it’s a lovely chocolate. Unlike other synthetic chocolates, West Indies doesn’t go popcorn-y on my skin. But the deep dark way it shifts makes me prefer the pure white sweetness of vaniglia.

EDIT Oh wow, I may have underestimated this cocoa-laced vanilla beauty. I really enjoy at the mid, when the orchid accord pops out. Smells like a chocolate and caramel dipped orchid. I still love the Mazzolari more. It I am considering getting a full bottle of this later on. I can imagine layering it with the Mazzolari and being encased on a vanilla cocoon thick enough to scoop off my skin.

TeachOlfactoryArt

Vanille West Indies, Tihota, & Dulcis in Fundo are the three top vanilla fragrances of all time.

It’s an aromatherapeutuc vanilla cloud, with a strong trail. Lasts forever. I find that with VWI & Dulcis in particular, because of their high perfume oil content, get really intense when my body heat goes up. Heat reactivates them to the point they can fill a room 12 hours after spraying!

Photorealistic perfection.

krukmary

My nearly-12-year-old daughter has been learning to bake recently, with my supervision. She loves to add the vanilla extract into recipes and I often see her sniffing it directly from its opaque brown bottle. On Christmas Eve night, we baked chocolate chip cookies for Santa (and extras for us, of course) and I realized that I have a perfume that smells exactly of the vanilla extract she keeps inhaling from the bottle. I sprayed her little wrist with Vanille West Indies and she was in heaven. She hasn't been interested in my fragrance collection but I think she might be now...
VWI= pure vanilla extract with great longevity, at least according to 2 novice bakers!

hsheep

If you're a vanilla lover like me, this one is definitely worth the hype. It's luscious, pillowy vanilla warmth that never gets too sweet or cloying. It melds into your skin and projects a delicious warm and huggable vanilla caramel. Similar to Tihota, but Tihota still wins for me. This is a beautiful runner up though, more caramel and sweet, a touch floral, where Tihota ranges into more dry vanilla extract territory, leaning slightly darker than this.

I tried St Barth's against my sample of Mazzolari Vaniglia and yep. They are the exact same scent, I couldn't tell them apart at all. The smallest difference between the two was that St Barth's stayed melded with my skin chemistry, while I could tell Vaniglia was lightly fading away. I also found Vaniglia to have more orchid in the opening. Sometimes I find that Vaniglia can get too cloying once in a while, but I haven't found that with St. Barth's so far.

After wearing this one for a few weeks now I think I'm a little bit anosmic to an ingredient in here because after about an hour or so, I find it barely noticeable unless I press my nose right into my wrist or if a scarf I'm wearing has rubbed against it. The same thing happened with my Bourbon Vanille. A shame because I live for these types of vanillas!

OTA Mom

As much as I love Tihota--I love this one just the tiniest bit more. It's lighter and sweeter, just so incredibly beautiful. It does leave an oily sheen on the skin as others have noted but so does my Tihota. As for comparing Madagascar vanilla fragrances, they are not the same, you will not find bourbon here.

Bubbles1964

I walked into my favorite Seattle niche perfume store, and walked out with one single spritz to the wrist of Vanille West Indies. Three hours and 4 compliments later — including one from my husband who has turned into quite a harsh perfume critic (he has to be since he lives with me and must put up with my constant obsession) — I’m warming up to the idea of adding this to my collection.

It’s not too sweet, unique or challenging in any way. It doesn’t make me think of cake or dessert. It smells like a dry “sweet” if that makes sense.

It’s now 28 hours later. I have gone out to happy hour, walked the dogs, gone grocery shopping, washed up for sleep, slept in it for 7 plus hours, had breakfast and I’m still picking up this devine, creamy sweet vanilla. Kind of remarkable albeit it’s a skin scent, it’s still with me and my dry, perfume sucking skin.

On the higher end of the price I like to pay too. Oh well, I have a new addiction.

Cajou

Lovely vanilla with caramel. Slightly artificial, but no cheap-smelling. I prefer deep vanillas, sometimes woody, dark, incense. This is not, but the caramel adds depth to it. I don't like airy and powdery vanillas. It is a very sweet scent, but not cloying to me. The reasons I won't buy a full bottle are:

1. It's oily. I mean REALLY oily. It doesn't dry on the skin and I'm afraid of spraying it on clothes.
2. Headache inducing.
3. I've found the perfect pure vanilla extract scent in Il Profumo Vanille Bourbon. Saving up for that one.

Oh, this smells exactly like Mazzolari Vaniglia to me. I tried them side by side both on paper and on skin. They are the same, including the oiliness!

LaLuNaveed

I got this fragrance based on great reviews on here and on youtube and the suggested resemblance to Vanille Bourbon which is beautiful, fresh vanilla/floral fragrance on my skin. This is more sweet, I don't get the Orchid, just sweet vanilla, plus the fragrance is very oily and does not last very long. Not sure if there was a reformulation but even though I like it ok, it's not all that is cracked up to be. It's nice and if you can find it on sale, get it, but not worth full price in my opinion.

I ended up using this as a hair mist. I have super frizzy and curly hair so extra oiliness that comes with this nice scent is fine by me.
I will use it, but won't repurchase.

Daria_21

I just have to post another comment about this sensational fragrance, after receiving numerous compliments from colleagues and strangers alike (this never happens, so something must be said, again).

Vanille West Indies has quickly moved to my absolute favourite fragrance, and that's saying a lot since I have never been able to pick a favourite out of my collection in all these years. I have been wearing it every single day, and it's absolutely heavenly. SO rich, SO heady, so luxurious and incredibly addictive. I had to pay a fairly pretty penny to get this imported into Canada through Beautyhabit and UPS, and I wouldn't hesitate to pay it again, and more.

Absolutely stunning fragrance, and an absolute MUST BUY for any vanilla lover. I can't say enough about it - Vanille West Indies has stolen my heart!

Daria_21

As a self-professed vanilla junkie, I knew I had to get my hands on this after reading the amazing reviews. It was yet another blind buy (from Beautyhabit), and an absolutely stellar one at that.

The others are right - Vanille West Indies is amazing, and I believe an absolute must for any vanilla lover. It’s quite sweet - sweeter than what I had imagined, and I’m more than okay with that because it’s a high quality sweet. Smooth, rich - no sharp edges here. There’s no synthetic sweetness, nor are there any bad moments in this beauty. From start to finish, you get quality.

I’m really not great at discerning various notes, however my husband walked in the house and the first thing he said was ‘it smells amazing in here, what is that? Is that chocolate?’ So that leads me to my two next and final points: this does actually smell like chocolate, and the projection is fantastic. I had only sprayed one spray on my wrist, and he smelled it as soon as he walked in the door. Yes and yes!

I am always searching for that one vanilla that will steal my heart. Ladies, I believe this is it. Highly recommend, and highly recommend as a safe blind buy for all vanilla lovers, or lovers of rich, sweet, quality perfume. So glad I got my hands on this.

This is an outstanding perfume for those who love super sweet scents. It's very well done with beautiful vanilla. On top of the caramel note, I also get marshmellow fluff. And on top of the orchid note, I also get other white florals besides. This is a long-lasting sweet and heady perfume. Lasted on my skin for 24 hours and a little goes a long way. I think every gourmand lover would want this in their collection. Very realistic and top quality.

As I have been looking for my perfect vanilla, I think I just found it! Very similar to Tihota Indult, in my opinion, but a bit less expensive.

I had different samples to compare: Tihota and St Barth Vanille are the winners.

Disappointing ones: Tangier Vanille (vanilla is almost nonexistent to my nose, but i get spices), same with Atelier Vanille Insensee (too light), and Reminiscence. Not mentioning Vanille exquise Goutal which is close to Meow fragrance. So, this is it.

Since Amour Memoire liquide has no staying power, and is getting harder to find, I found my new sweet vanilla :) <3

You think that finding a good simple and sweet vanilla is easy! Well, think twice! Always something was putting me off in so many vanilla scents (spices, wood, floral, etc...) or they had such a low projection/longevity...

what cupcake dreams are made of , my new ultimate vanilla,it leaves an oil residue though so be weary of that, perfect for cold weather its warm and cozy :)

I'm so on the fence between trying this or tihota! Please please let me know what y'all think..what are the differences?

franciscrawford: on makeupalley.com there is a review by someone named "Amy" who compares the two. I'd cut n paste, but Makeupalley is locked at work. The reviews is located in the "Product Reviews" and is found under Tihota. I believe Amy is the first review.

Hello all! Could someone please tell me how this compares to Tihota? I have a sample of Tihota, but have not tried West Indies. I'm hunting for a natural, vanilla that is not overly sweet. I love Tihota, but I'm super curious about this scent as well. Thank you in advance! Wishing you all a wonderful upcoming May!

I wanted a bottle of this for years, and finally got one. It's as delicious as I remember, turns a bit chocolatey after an hour or so. Wonderful, and lasts well on me.

Mmmm I absolutely love this vanilla. It smells like homemade vanilla bean marshmallows. It distinctly smells like raw vanilla beans. I have a bag of fresh vanilla (not the pods, but the tiny black seeds that have been scraped out of their pods), and Vanille West Indies smells so much like them. In their raw state, vanilla beans smell oddly rubbery and perhaps a tad smoky. Here some sweetness has definitely been added, and voila!

I wore it in both hot weather and in moderate weather, and I never found it to be cloying. Instead the beautiful scent of vanilla bean marshmallows softly make their way to my nose throughout the day, for about 8 hours before I felt like I might need a touch-up. Delicious yet, surprisingly, rather elegant.

If not the best, one of the best vanilla perfumes out there! I love it <3

What a beautiful vanilla!
Extremely sweet but some vanillas seem plasticky and synthetic next to this.
The hint of chocolate in the background is of the dark and creamy variety.
I think it's a great mix between Orchidee Vanille VC&A x Vanille Bourbon Il Profvmo.
Great longevity and silage.

Simply delicious!
Three notes is all it takes to create this wonderful gourmand fragrance.
It surely smells like caramel & vanilla and can give off a chocolaty-vibe due to the orchid playing with these two counterparts.
Longevity is good, sillage on my skin is soft.
I would not purchase this, due to it's high price tag and there's plenty of similar scents out there for more friendly prices.
♥♥♥

This is incredible, but impossible to find these days.

Caramelle

Sadly overlooked these days, this is a sweet, satisfying vanilla scent with a milky drydown. For me it's the ultimate natural smelling high quality pure vanilla scent. It smells of cakes coming fresh from the oven, nothing sophisticated about it,but oh so delicious!

I dare say (with sorrow) that I used to see this perfume as a reference vanilla fragrance. It would be the dream-frag to those who are keen on the sweet "side" of this ingredient according to a sort of metropolitan fairy-tale that regards vanilla - often and obviously - as "gourmand" (do you remember the 2 schools: Guerlain'v. opposite to Caron's "creme brulée"...) In the reality vanilla is all but sweet! (see for example P.de Nicolai's Vanille extreme, or Mona di Orio's Vanille) or do this experiment at home: try a genuine vanilla's bean (normally we don't do it!) and you'll discover a bitter unsuspected flavor! Anyway. When it first appeared I fall in love as I've never tried any astonishingly over-more-over lasting fragrance (2 days, showers included!) than this before, which was also very beautiful and perhaps it's still the best frag in their line (apart from an unsurpassed Tiaré and a wonderful Sandal that unwisely they decided to "fire".) But now things are not so anymore and I suspect that also this Firm is doing something "strange".....not to say "normal"....
The new bottle I re-bought keeps a memory of the precedent (let's call it a vintage....only after few years?!? Yes!) always the same oily consistence, that I love!, the aroma is still good (but no more 'so good') that I hear every body asking 'what 's this good smell?' but the previous released V.W.I. was even better. Much better. Much more better for sure. So... I'd recommend to those who adores "sweetness" in perfumery and are not too afraid if they're wasting their money or not......
Long lasting.
At least.

I have been looking for a good vanilla scent. When i first put it on it was very sweet i thought it was going to be one of those i was scrubbing off right away! Im excited to say it actually smelt beautiful after awhile. I always get alot of people asking what im wearing.

Habanita

It's a bit ago when I tested this and the other scents. They were "ok" but not great. This one smelled like Vanilla, Orchids and Caramel, like the description says. If I remember right, I had the impression that the scents were very light and quickly fading. All in all I had more the impression of a body sprays or aroma sprays than of a perfume.
