1 Million by Paco Rabanne is a Woody Spicy fragrance for men. 1 Million was launched in 2008. 1 Million was created by Christophe Raynaud, Olivier Pescheux, Michel Girard and Christian Dussoulier. Top notes are Blood Mandarin, Grapefruit and Mint; middle notes are Cinnamon, Spicy Notes and Rose; base notes are Amber, Leather, Woody Notes and Indian Patchouli.

The house of Paco Rabanne's fragrance for men is announced as a fresh and sensual blend of notes, with glittery shine of gold, for which creator Paco Rabanne says the following: "In all civilizations and religions gold has always managed to seduce people". Gold is all around us: in architecture, design, jewelry, clothes, accessories, fashion...It is noticeable and respected worldwide and it possesses divine notes. The bottle of this edition for men is created in golden nuances. It represents power, wealth, luxury, durability...

The perfume was inspired by Paco Rabanne's metallic fashion and created in cooperation with three famous noses for perfumes, Christophe Raynaud, Olivier Pescheux and Michel Girard, who mixed this year's edition from the notes of sparkling grapefruit, red orange, mint, rose, cinnamon, spices, blond leather, blond wood, patchouli and amber.

The perfume is available in the amount of 50 and 100 ml, as an edt and with accompanying body care products. 1 Million arrived in August 2008.

1 Million 18 Carats is a LUXE edition that captures with its provocative notes, only for the privileged buyers. The package is very luxurious, made of golden body with a diamond crown. Each bottle is separately numerated and the edition is limited. The outer package – a case that holds a golden lever, is created by Noe Duchaufour-Lawrence.

Let us remind you of the fragrant composition: the perfumers behind it are Christophe Raynaud, Olivier Pescheux and Michel Girard, and the notes are: sexy blood orange, grapefruit, cinnamon, mint, rose, spices, light leather, white wood, patchouli and amber. The new bottle of 1 Million 18 carats is available in 100 ml and it can be re-filed with the perfume.

this is kind of an npc frag but for 100 buckaroo you can get 200 ml bottle and for that reason this is my go to spam frag at it is good for al year around wear too

Sara Bae perfumada

i smelled this on a classmate lol
delicious scent

TheFraganist55

Got a free sample of this and I was confused. If anything, this fragrance has very defined stages throughout the life of a spray. Opening is loud, sweet, and fresh, which I enjoyed. The mid, however, is garbage. Smells like gym socks and must. The heart makes it more refined and warm, which I found enjoyable. However, will probably pass up on this one. There are better options in the line.

When I was about 13 years old, I was wandering around a store with my mother, so I went to the perfume section and tried a few perfumes, but one of them caught my nose, Paco Rabanne 1 Million. I fell in love at that moment. Even though it is a scent beyond my age, I have loved this scent ever since, no matter what anyone says, this is the scent of all times. It is one of the best scents, but even though its longevity has decreased in recent years but its okay still a masterpiece for me.

Pastor jeff

You just have to look at the (people who like this also like) section above tells you all you need to know how predictable this NPC fragrance is.

28csingley

I don’t understand the hate, it genuinely smells pretty good. I think the hate partially comes from it just being worse than the other frags in the line.

NogelBogel

I've had this fragrance for my signature fragrance for the whole winter, and I have gotten alot of response. The main response from the cold winter days out in the wind and snow, people love it. Or, at least no complaints. Very very sweet honey like fragrance. The second you go inside though, people start getting headaches. If the same people are around you the whole day, or just more than an hour, they get sick of it, even if they liked it to start out with. The silliage is really loud and aggressive, but the longevity is quite mid. 5/10 fragrance.

Jackw9

To me, this one just does not smell good. I usually love the cinnamonny and warm scents, but theres something in this one thats just really off putting. I can see why some might like it and the nostolgia behind it, but it smells pretty bad to me. 3/10

KingKaris

If you like old spice shampoo and wanna smell young.

tylerss20

Solid performance for an EDT but that's about all. This may be one of the most younger crowd leaning fragrances I've tried. Very sweet, I don't get much of spice listed in the fragrance notes. Linear, sweet soapy scent.

BMW

its pretty nice and lasts decently long

lowercase_brody

nothing but mid. only reason I have it is that I got it in a paco rabanne gift set with 1 mil EDT, 1 mil parfum, Invictus, and phantom, being the worst out of the 4

a perfect 5/10, don't recommend

RGH01

1 Million is just one of those fragrances where I genuinely cannot comprehend how people can find it enjoyable. It’s simply just one of the worst smelling fragrances on the mass market at the moment, and yet it’s a cultural icon - most likely due to its gaudy and identifiable bottle.

Overall this scent is a synthetic mess of warm spices and citric mandarin. This results in a scent that is trying to be both warm and fresh, but fails miserably. Instead, the final product is just a barrage of intense sharpness - assaulting the nostrils unforgivingly.

I genuinely believe this is an awful, awful fragrance. I dislike it intensely, but that is the case with pretty much everything from Paco Rabanne if I’m honest.

TheRefinedGentleman

This is good not great, Not a nauseating odor like people claim. Smells sweet with cinnamon and spice, last a long time for me sprayed on my skin and could detect it the next day, pleasant smell but nothing groundbreaking also not that expensive especially for the performance.

Homemadebread08

An amazing parfume. I buy it year after year after year. I am 19 now, and I still receive compliments about it. Even got a compliment by my teacher, who walked past me in class. Yes, it's a classic, but who cares. It is so overpopulated for a good freason. Rose and cinnamon combi, I LOVE IT!
Longevity is 9/10. 4 sprays on the neck and shirt (2 each), and it'll easily sit there for 6+ hours

If you still haven't bought it yet, BUY IT! 🤩

Marxwick

I enjoy the bright opening of sweet, rose, and ambery spices before the woody leather base becomes more prominent in the far dry down.
My 2012 bottle performs better than my 2022 batch, but it no longer has that bright pop in the beginning that could be attributed to the citrus notes. It still retains the same mid-to-dry-down DNA.
It is one of the pioneers in bringing sweet scents to the male audience in the fragrance world.

aryxn

smells gud.

smacleod7117

Yea it’s overdone and on the TikTok influencer train now but I don’t care. It’s a classic. I have a soft spot for it because my younger brother got a dupe one year for Christmas and I thought it was the best smelling cologne at the time.

I think unfortunately it’s probably a little too “night on the town” for office wear or day to day but every now and then it just feels right. Luxurious, spicy, sexy-there’s nothing not to like about the fragrance itself.

wondervalley666

I received a sample of this, though I’m a woman in her 30s and probably not the target demographic. I sprayed a few spritzes on my wrist and was surprised at how much this smells like Lady Million! I had a bottle of that perfume awhile back. On my skin, this smells like Lady Million, but with a sort of piney opening ( I guess it’s the mint + woods), which fades after a few minutes. After that, this kind of feels like lady million, fruity with a sort of ISO super pencil shaving style woody molecule note. Surprisingly, this fragrance fades really fast on my skin. It only lasts about an hour, two max. Lady million lasted an eternity on me so I’m not sure why this is so much shorter-lived, unless they were reformulated.

The listed notes don’t make much sense to me. The Lady Million notes never made sense to me either. These two smell so much alike despite only having patchouli in common. For those complaining about the performance, try sampling Lady Million. Layer it with a piney wood scent.

For everyone saying this scent is old news, too young, or played out, it’s 2024 and I just smelled it for the first time today. I only smelled Lady Million for the first time a couple years ago. I’ve never smelled a man wearing this or anything like it, so maybe you’re just stuck in small social circles where everyones tastes are too similar. Or maybe I never smelled it because it doesn’t last very long.

..Shrug..

It’s nice though, for what its worth!

CYLA

If anyone sees this comment, help me out. I can’t help but love the smell of this stuff, I don’t own it and never have but it reminds me of my early teenage years and the friends I made back then. It’s very nostalgic to me but I refuse to buy a full bottle of it because it does not stay on my skin, if anyone knows any niche fragrances that accomplish this DNA and more, please let me know.

weslovesfrags

very outdated smells like 2009 get something else

rrrroyer

It is undeniably a good fragrance. But it can be easily overwhelming. I understand the hate. Don't use it on closed environments. Tbh don't use it. Or do f it

Onlineturk

When i first wore this in 2009 it was gorgeous, it was pungent, sillage was great, i loved it then. But now it became a dupe of its former self, i think it does not deserve its price tag anymore. Better go with The Golden Secret Antonio Banderas, at least it is cheaper!

SenselessReviews

An ambitious attempt to reinterpret Peter Dinklage's orgasm as a fragrance, "1 Million" delivers.

With its overt sweetness, "1 Million" has our nostrils vibrating like Mr. Miyagi at a Japanese burlesque show. Compliments pour out of your girlfriend's mouth like the brown waterfall formed when Chunk from "The Goonies" vomits chocolate milk. Come drydown, you are an oily Carl Weathers jumping around in a stars-and-stripes top hat mere moments before your death.

"1 Million" is perhaps the best promoted cologne of a generation. Kudos to the marketing department for those glossy magazine ads with a nude Jeff Goldblum seductively slurping the bottle. In a forest of flankers, it is easy to forget the underrated charisma of the OG.

Vikingtop

Rather fascinating scent.... for me it is very unisex.

smells in the opening bubblegum.....warm fruits

In the middle flowery....amber...spices and extreeeeemly sweet

In the end cinnamon flowers....and a little wood

It smells cheap, but not bad... :-)

Robert Peck1

1 Million is a sweet, warm, amber, bubblegum fragrance, although it is very popular and synthetic. But it's still a great classic fragrance.

If your on a budget this Fragrance is amazing its perfect for the winter and smells pretty good. However i would not buy this again because it gets boring fast its really generic and you smell basic.

2093Twïzzy

Not everyone will love this fragrance but all you need to know is that it has amazing longevity and you can mostly smell the cinnamon notes mixed well with the others that makes this fragrance super sexy.

2093Twïzzy

Easily 8+ hours Atleast on my skin

2093Twïzzy

This is an amazing masculine fragrance for going out in the colder weather. Longevity and sillage are also good for this. Its such a classic and I think its a necessity for building a fragrance collection. I do think that it could get a little boring after a while but come on, You have to get this.

Loudd

Not a fan of this.

ladz

my friend has this cologne and smells so good. ever since i've wanted this cologne

eaumondieu

love at first sniff. but then overtime, it gets a little bit boring and my collection grew a lot very quickly. i havent been able to use this very often since the collection grew, but this is still a very likeable perfume. there's a reason everyone wears this and that is because it smells really good. although here in my country, we dont have cold seasons so this is not a common perfume here

Mage4Zelda

A "candid" (pardon the pun), hearty and adventurous representation of oranges, grapefruits and florals. Long lasting, youthful, wholesome, cozy and a strong, powerful and signature Paco Robanne fragrance.

One Million EDT has been in my arsenal since it was first released. It opens up with a cotton candy reveal but to the nose of a perfume connoisseur, its the sweet tanginess and fizziness of oranges/ grapefruits sparkling juice blended with rose and cinnamon. The top notes are quick to transform into a warm, salted form of oranges still retaining a bit of sweetness. The phase switch from top to middle notes is marvellous in the sense that it opens up in a similar fashion as one attempts to decipher their sense of smell and taste from the time they peel an orange with a spray of sweet and tangy citrus, to the first touch of the sour slice on tongue to the tangy, juicy residue left on the last gulp. This fragrance retains its middle notes to the very end, for 8+ hours on skin, and a few days on fabric, leaving a trail of notes with tell tale signs of Paco Robanne and a bit of leather, for those that are familiar with the line.

For many, One Million is a delightful, warm, bright and vibrant bonbon that you would expect to find in Willy Wonka's factory. However, to an expert nose this fragrance ingeniously consists of long lasting, flavourful and hearty notes of oranges and grapefruits, with the warmth and sweetness of cinnamon, leather and amber. Its cheerful, charming, sugary goodness, and a classic paco robanne all the way.

Stefouuu

Love the opening of this one, timeless as scents go. Sprayed myself a couple times and went out to the nearest shop, as soon as I entered the cashier’s head turned towards me and I was immediately asked what perfume I was wearing, because when I entered an amazing smell entered as well.

rozzox

I don't like it. Willing to sell if anyone wants it, only sprayed a handful of times.

Boxing Wiz

I have a bottle of this along with a bottle of Parfum that I never wear. If anyone has anything they want to trade for one of these, hit me up.

hldmyhnd7

Citrus and cinnamon combos NEVER disappoint. Although this is a male scent, I've used it consistently in the summer and I feel like if used on warm skin, it gives a feminine scent. I'm probably wrong about that because, to be fair, I have no idea what the scientific explanation would be for that... but I've only used it in the warmer seasons, and it's been amazing for me. Also, the longevity of this perfume is phenomenal, and I understand that people don't like the sweetness of it and I think that proves my point about the feminity of it. It seems like this scent gets a lot of hate because its "overused", but I have to disagree strongly because its a good price, and a phenomenal scent, so you're smart for buying this especially if you want to explore different fragrances without blowing any budgets.

exmin

this fragrance is perfectly balanced idk why it gets so much hate on here

LePianoMan

Let me start this off by saying that 1 Million EDT is STILL a great perfume. People these days are more concerned with standing out than just wearing what they like, and that goes for more than just perfumery- you see this snobbery in shoes, clothing, watches, even tattoos and hair. I loved 1 million the first time I smelled it at 16 and I still love it at 22, although my tastes have developed to include things like Gucci Guilty Absolute, Tom Ford’s Black Orchid, and Dior Homme 2020. It’s okay to like something that’s popular, I’ve never actually smelled 1 million on anyone else in public, neither have I smelled sauvage on anyone in public. Perfume is not as widely used as people here and on Reddit would have you believe.

On to the actual perfume- still amazing, still beautiful. Opens up so nice and warm with a very pleasant sweetness. Spices join in almost immediately, led strongly by cinnamon. My amateur nose does not detect any citrus in this whatsoever, and I doubt the average person is gonna notice anything other than sweet and cinnamon from this and that’s great, IMO.

As it dries down into the heart, it gets spicier and the sweetness remains but just blends so beautifully with that spiciness. Once it dries down fully, I don’t really get a lot of leather and wood from this either. In my opinion, at least off my skin, 1 million is a pretty linear perfume. It’s like spraying yourself with a warm Cinnabon! Delicious smelling for sure and still very pleasant.

Sure, it’s not groundbreaking- and for those complaining that it doesn’t have enough naturals, look at the price point. For what you get, it’s downright cheap. People just have unrealistic expectations, which seems to be a pretty common trend in this $50-100 range for some reason.

TL:DR- still stands its ground in 2024, still very mass appealing and pleasant to the nose, very inoffensive, sweet and cinnamony. Definitely catered to a younger demographic but you could absolutely wear this at any age- although that’s how I feel about basically any perfume. If you like it, buy it- don’t let the snobs keep you away.

0lympian

I GENUINELY enjoy 1 million even though it’s really common. I love how LOUD it is man it just smacks me in the damn face every time. I really don’t care I just love it!

AkselSvEn

old schoooooooooooool (sweet sexy yummy)

Nezzy

Gets way too much hate even though the scent is pretty alright, although it isn't something mind blowing.

T.Hans.L

Great sexy long-lasting smell, but for some too sweet. Also, every one have it, so it became boring. Important to mention that it not for everybody, that's have to be your style
6.5/10, would give it 7, or even 8, but too tired of smelling it

townofsalem

one million is SO GOOD if used in the right context.

i personally disagree with the seasonal votes for this fragrance--and i feel as if it definitely fits spring and daytime more than winter or nighttime.

this fragrance radiates heavily with the cinnamon & spicy notes, which persists throughout the duration of the scent, but also is balanced so nicely with the citrusy-sweet undertones of blood orange and grapefruit. i describe this fragrance as fun, playful, (enticingly) sweet, and one that shouldn't try to be used as an overly aggressive and masculine scent.

SuperScentSmeller

I love this fragrance even though it is popular that does not mean its bad people hate on this fragrance because its popular its a strong long lasting great fragrance 9/10

artur148

Amazing blood orange opening, dislike the cinnamon dry down

ttsib

One of those frags that are just too famous not to own. I never actually tried any of the flankers and stick to the original altough for sure reformulated over the year. I am maybe a bit too old for that, but every now and then I like it's your, festive and fruity accords.

jackm27

Amazing warm, spicy, cinnamon note when first sprayed, although it does not last particularly long or project on my skin. The smell is amazing however, recommend this or another version for going out in winter

dfreeman

Very sweet, warm, and woody. It was pleasant, and I did get compliments when I had this. If it wasn't so overused it wouldn't have so much hate. To me, this is not a bad fragrance at all, however a bit in the opening it smells a bit plasticy or rubbery?

6.5/10

LisaJane97

I bought it around 2016/2017 so I still have an older version with amazing performance..as a woman I bought it because I just love that smell :D I just sniff it sometimes or put it on me and it evokes past times :D stunning!✨

Rizwan.Ahmed7181

Today i got it at Local Store after 1 try i Buy .... nice Woody Rose Leathry Fragrance and Long Lasting very Good

Wizzie08

Sweet & luxurious smelling hence the name one million. It makes you feel like you have a million bucks.
It is popular hence hated by frag community but it's currently my date night fragrance cause my fiancé loves it 😊

rebeccathomas911

This fragrance used to be nuclear and lasted on guys I was with for days. Today I got my nose to it again for the first time in a while and after just an hour, it's so faintly barely just around. Also, my brother got a bottle for Christmas 2023 and confirmed the very same thing: projection is abysmal and NOTHING like it used to be in overall performance, not even close.

Disliking a fragrance because the greedy production manufacturers (in this case, Paco Rabanne) have watered/weakened/cut costs and delivered a substandard product compared to what it once was is absolutely a genuine reason to give a thumbs down.

If this were still 2008, or 2010, I'd give this fragrance a love vote and it would be a must-buy. But now, with the MASSIVELY weakened reformulations, this is a shadow of what it used to be and I don't recommend it to anyone. You still get the same scent as the original, but it performs to maybe 10% of the ability of the first years of 1 Million, so don't waste your money on this watered-down junk (which costs MORE now than at its original release!). Instead, I would recommend exploring its closest clones and either get cheaper ones like Cuba Paris Cuba Royal which gives the same level of performance as 1 Million has for a while, or spend a little bit more for a better-performing one like Armaf Club de Nuit Man.

ASmellySmell

Yuck. Nothing about this appeals to me. It smells synthetic to the core. Very loud scent. More than 2 sprays can kill a room. Definitely not for the office. It somehow gets praise online so maybe it just appeals to women's noses.

RyanDaRaider

Fresh, Warm, Sweet. Yes, everyone has a bottle, but that doesn't make it bad.

Wazasio

Got it for less than $50, and for that price I don't care that it's "overused". Really pleasant smell that never gets old!

HermanoBasura

I absolutely adore this fragrance, and it is the highlight of my collection. People may say that it's from your teenage years and to leave it there, but personally I love it. The opening is warm, spicy, citrus and very fruity. On me lasts around 7+ hours. But the only downside for me is that around 1 - 2 hours after putting on, it loses its silage quite a lot. I would totally recommend this for anyone who is in to warm and spicy, tropical fruit and orange type of smells. Would recommend for parties and the colder months. 10/10 (for me) I love it.

Deliza1997

It smells great. I don't find anything wrong with it. Fresh, juicy, citrusy opening and warm, sweet, spicy, floral, woody on the dry down. Some may say It's very juvenile for men but this makes it a good unisex fragrance. It is really suitable for boys and men in their early 20s; plus women can also try this just to bring a change.

mrjns

my boyfriend wears this and i wanna eat him up every time

Winsgoat

I smelt it once, it sucked, it smelt like a combination of everything. Just no.

solobinoy2k

You got this when you were a teenager, leave it there.

Bukethätman

It's good but i like parfum a bit more. 7.5/10

TheExplorer111

Very Good lasting. Highly recommended .

nicholassua

hate at first sniff
cinnamon bomb.. too sweet and loud
much hate on dry down
the most disgusting scent Ive ever smelt

torreykongjr

Sweet and spicy. Amber sweet, rosy floral, with spices and wood. Little patchouli powder in the dry down. Smooth spices and sweetness, warm woody, sexy. Projects moderately. Sticks to fabrics. Very nice toilette!

parvatishallow

Can't really go wrong with this; it's classic. Mass appeal, more masculine but definitely could pass as unisex.

I'm layering this with Banana Republic's Tonka Bean & Vanilla fragrance, and it's really nice!

tomgre

I got it as a gift from my mom. I think it's from 2009. It's still good, and I use it for night occasions (e.g., chilled at the bar, night out, dinner, etc.). Outstanding performance, eternal longevity on me, and good projection.
This perfume introduced me to other Paco Rabanne; I still give this 10/10.

nikolaj67

overpriced like many other popular parfumes.

Bizzy1995

A strong fresh opening of citrusy grapefruit and mint. As the top evaporates your left with a warm sweet cinnamon. Stays warm until the end with amber and a hint woody scent. Very powerful sexy scent. I love how this is a fluid fragrance that changes over the course of the day.

sniffme2017

Picked up a bottle for 29€ 2 years ago and never put it on, because friends made fun of me for wearing "that tacky perfume", when seeing it in my bathroom. I decided to just wear it finally and people asked me what my fragrance was, because I smelled so delicious. My GF loves it on me. I love it too. Period.
Sweet, spicy, juicy, just fun. Would I wear this to a business lunch? Definitely not. But for having fun at a bar/club, a day shopping etc: it's great!
This is popular for a reason.

theeotmj

Great cheapish designer fragrance. Good woody, warm, fragrance, good for night days and cold days, but could get away with wearing in spring.

444Kronik

Amazing fragrance, overhated and overused. Smells great, lasts pretty long. solid 8.8/10

Södertälje

Great fragnance, but doomed by its success. Old formula was nukeclear

SailorMilk

A classic: clean, elegant and very basic. The perfume is good but in the long run it becomes boring. Also, I don't know how everyone voted for "long lasting", for me after 2 hours is barely noticeable... Sillage is great tho

Andy224

Iconic. Very interesting and well balanced note combination turn into a sharp, edgy and masculine scent. Love the bottle and lasting power too!

denden_22

Iconic since 2008. As soon as you smell this scent in the wild you know - that's 1 Million. Awesome performance, great scent, reasonable price. Hated by hipsters who love to hate on popular things just because they're popular. News flash: they are popular for a reason!

Solid 8.0/10 from me.

AnastasiaGostieva

Pleasant universal male scent with warm woody base and nice sweet&spicy undertones. I think it might be worn by women too, because it smells fairly unisex. Good frag for its price 👌

When I was first getting into fragrances this was one of the first I bought. Which, I bet, a lot of other people did when starting off too. However, over time you get told "1 Million is overused" "1 Million is reformulated" "Get this flanker instead!" Well, even after collecting so many fragrances I still enjoy using 1 Million in the colder weather, I've never once had somebody say anything negative to me in person about it either. The honest truth is, yes this fragrance WAS overly popular but it really isn't anymore. I haven't smelled anybody else wear this in at least a year now.

The take-away from this is; this is a good fragrance. It smells really good and has a carefree clubbing feel to it, if your concern was as mentioned previously, you have nothing to worry about. If you want it, get it, I'd say the only "negative" to this scent is the price, which can be a little too high for it's uses.

TipTopNotes

In the opening, I'm met with a blast of bright, spicy orange and cool mint. I don't pick the mint out specifically but it gives the citrus opening this vague brisk quality. All of this swiftly settles down in line with the thicker, fluffier notes of rose and leather, which round everything out. It becomes this very smooth, slightly-fruity bubblegum-like scent in the big-picture. It's well-blended and only occasionally do the citruses pop through from time to time giving off bursts of brightness before returning to sizzle softly in the background. In addition, the rose fades in and out of the frame, and creates a secondary big-picture of scent: a musky flower drizzled in a warm, ambery honey. My mind switches back and forth between these two images. 1 Million offers fruitiness, florals, and warm spices in a very delicate balance.

It performs admirably, despite other's mentioning reformulations. I haven't tried it closer to its original release but a recent decant of it lasts well into an 8-hour work day, and still remains as a soft scent afterwards. It's projection is somewhat loud, even with just 3 sprays of a travel-size sprayer. It caught the attention of a couple coworkers, and my workplace isn't an office or any other cramped workspace.

The only caveat I can think of is that it does smell a bit more ubiquitous than many other scents I've encountered in the real world. People say everyone wears Sauvage, but of the 4 times I've smelled someone's fragrance in the last year and immediately recognized the scent, 3 of those times were unquestionably 1 Million EDT. Not a big deal, I'm not obsessed with smelling as unique as humanly possible. However, some of the newer flankers, like Elixir, Lucky, and even parfum, smell a bit more distinctive and even modern as a whole. This feeling may partially stem from the popularity of 1 Million EDT and how some cheap scented products--particularly public bathroom soaps and/or urinal cakes-- have tried to replicate this smell. Regardless, the real thing is multiple steps above those knockoffs, and any resemblance to those cheap products dissolve when you stop huffing the atomizer and actually let this wonderful juice radiate off your skin.

Featherblossom

I got this as a sample and was reluctant to try it as it is marketed for men.
I was surprsed to find that it's much more of a unisex scent! On me, it's a lovely spicy, cinnamon rose.

The opening is a bright, sharp blood orange that quickly turns spicy as the cinnamon comes out more. As the drydown develops, the rose turns it almost lipsticky. I guess a man could wear this but I think it's probably nicer on a woman!

CHRISTIANDIORDIOR

What's all the hate for? You can say this is too common, that there are better fragrances in the line, whatever. But I don't think someone can honestly smell this and say it's a 2/5. It's such a good blend for a cologne, one of the few that I would say works year round, and it's sweet and spicy and fruity, without any of those being too dominant. The fruity opening is one of my favorites of all time.

Projection is excellent, longevity too.

It's sad because this used to be such a unique fragrance, and is now considered common. Destroyed by its own success, I guess.

Oh, and I love the bottle!

Antoshka2

It really is a nice worthwhile scent but unless I can get it on the cheaper side I won’t pay more than £30-£40 these days. I probably would have previously but that’s when this was groundbreaking to me. I’ve smelled many similar and better perfumes since but having said that I cannot fault this. It really is a worthy fragrance if you can get it when it’s on offer. A beautiful fragrance that was previously probably one of the best but I think it’s long since been surpassed. I still recommend it but not for £50 or more. None offensive but standout. Suitable for work and leisure. Not too formal but not at all obnoxious. A safe scent that will generally generate interest.

lidor

It still smells great and if it has a good price it is a great buy ,especially since it is less common today.

this smells really good , and i do not care if its already "outdated" or "overly popular"
heck , where i live not many people wear fragrances .
preformance is average (6h longetivity and 1.5h projection)

jinjayagi

My conclusion is that this perfume became so popular that now people get it and don't like the product - it is simply generic now, but of course at one time it was very unique, right? Some of the others commenting here said the "opening" is seducing, which I believe is correct. It's very, very sweet and attractive. It really is a pretty and sweet scent. But it's likely that if you're hugging someone or in a crowd of people due to a family gathering, you blend in too well with the other men around you who are all using this scent.

The reason why many people have it is because it's reasonably priced, and smells sweet, but there are simply too many people who wear it to the point where if you're out, you really do not stand out at all because the cheap man next to you got this as a birthday present about 2 years ago.

Aix

Gross. I don’t smell ANYTHING recognisable in this perfume. It’s super aggressive to the nose? Can anyone tell me which note it is that does that? It’s just spicy and synthetic

H4jdm

I love this. The opening is the greatest of all time. So sexy and seducing, shame about the performance but who cares, bathe in it.

josgiord

Overly hated. I really enjoy this fragrance. I find it very suited to more formal settings.

jadisq

My personal opinion...
This fragrance is not bad at all.
The opening is very sexy and you will definitely get compliments if you wear this on a night out.
It's a very warm fragrance and quite masculine...

Thatbwoy

I sampled (well went to a shop, sprayed it on the back of my hand) this when it came out all those years ago. And my conclusion then was “oh f***! Get this shit off me!”

And for the last 15 years not given this fragrance a chance. I hadn’t even given this a chance of retribution. Nah. Not a very skinny chance would I offer to this fragrance to change my mind.

Until yesterday, when a sample of this was posted through the door. I hadn't ordered it. I left it for 24hrs. Thinking I wouldn't even bother as I don't like it, never liked it and even if I sampled it I would never like it.

So I sampled it.

And I still think its sucks , and it sucks very hard. There's a very sharp, synthetic ambroxan aspect in this that is very headache inducing. I really cannot say how much I dislike this stuff.

MSKMAN

Paco Rabanne 1 Million was released in 2008, and when it first came out, I refused to like this fragrance, not because it didn't smell good but because of what it represented. You have to appreciate that the housing bubble occurred in 2008. I remember smelling 1 million in a department store and thinking this was the worst marketing for that particular moment in history. Fast forward to the present day, and I can truly appreciate how great this fragrance is. It is really that good and innovative 1 Million is. The opening is sharp, sweet, floral, and gorgeous blood mandarin. You get that candy heart in the heart, which 1 million is known for. The fragrance dries down evenly but still retains all its good qualities. Performance is excellent at 8 hours plus, but at its heart, 1 Mill is a nighttime fragrance great for social events. It's time to give 1 Million its flowers.

khungpao

Got a sample and this smells really good as well. I prefer the parfum version and bought that one instead. But I still want a full bottle of this. Might get one in the future.

HoneyCombLiv

I’m a frag addicted but my husband does not like to wear fragrances at all. With my hobby he started to get curious so I started ordering samples so he could play with. He played with niche, designers and sim on. I am not familiar with men fragrances so I just put this one in the cart aware that for some reason people hate it. I am a delicate and sweet wife according to my husband, even shy, but this here transformed me into a Greek creature that it’s never satisfied, a nymphette! One day he was working from home and dared to wear this for the first time, and wow it was a crazy amazing break. My husband know understand a bit of the magic of wearing fragrances :) I’m buying him his first full bottle no questions asked.

Sweet and Strong

I have 2015 batch, absolutely NUCLEAR. grapefruit shines alot, rosey cinnamon woody base. I don't understand how this scent is rated so low, this released in 2008. We have to accredit it to how the future (present) adapted. Such a groundbreaking scent at the time...

chrisrm86

I love this fragance it is one of my all time favorites, what I love about it is the cinnamon and warm scent you immediately get, reminds me a lot of my ex he used to apply it on his clothes and I could smell him all the time like a drug. People who hate on this is just trying to be "different"

ehgordoesbeats

I will soon be buying my 3rd bottle. Absolutely love it. My favourite scent ever. Smells goated after drydown and lasts 7-8 hours on skin with fine projection. LASTED ON A SHIRT FOR 4 DAYS!!! On clothes the projection is weaker but the smell is there for 48 hours+. If it was a food it would be a lemon slice with sugar, smells like it too. Imagine cinnamon cream mixed with lemon juice glazed over your skin. Mixes great to create a powerful scent. Atomizer is fine too, undeserved hate for this fragrance. It will forever be my signature scent. Recomend it over all the other 1 million fragrances. It is overhated and undoubtedly one of the best frags ever. Been told it smells like invictus victory, dont smell it but paco rabanne frags all smell great and a little bit similar. Amazing lerfect scent.

DELTA55

It’s a ok cologne, I would just rather pick the 1 Million Lucky over this one. 7.4/10

jsweet

Let me explain the hate that this fragrance gets for all of those who are puzzled here. Since ... it smells fantastic. The bottle is made out of fake gold. It's a fake gold bar, stamped with a cartoonish big round number, which is spelled neither "$1,000,000" nor "One Million," but rather "1 Million". Its presentation and marketing are the perfume equivalent of fake jewelry: it displays what the owner lacks, not the owner's wealth. But that's just the presentation, and it's not the only PR bottle that I think is too ugly to go in my collection, and that's just me. Does it smell nice though? Sure. But the hate isn't about that, it's about the presentation and marketing.

Muskyflower

I dont understand the hate.

The goal is to smell good.
This makes you smell really good.
What's the problem? It's popular?
Of course it is popular
Cuz it is an addictive smell.

You want to smell good?
You want your wife to think you smell amazing?
Then buy this!

But no,
Yall want to smell unique and polarizing,
With niche fragrances that smell like civet and a$$. To each their own, i guess.

This is a modern classic 10/10.
I love wearing this.

Today I did 4 sprays to the office,
2 sprays to my stomach and 1 spray on each forearm.

I can't spray anything close to my nose,
Fragrances just aren't as enjoyable when I spray my neck and the fragrance gets in my mouth.

This is magical in the air, when sprayed a little further from the nose.

H-rim

Timeless period, the rest is just chatter

_Addict

I don't hate it but to me it smelt synthetically sweet. I was trying to decide on a sweet fragrance to buy, this was one of the ones recommended to me to try but I ended up going with JPG Le Beau Le Parfum as I liked it better. Not that this one isn't nice, just not quite for me.

Erosflamelover

people like to try and be unique and hip by hating on this fragrance just because its popular, its an amazing scent that will always smell like the fragrance equivelent of liquid gold to me.

DarthFragrance

I’m using up some carded samples and it smells pretty good. It’s probably my least favorite 1 Million, I like all the flankers better. 1 Million EDT mainly gets crapped on because it’s popular. It’s warm and spicy. It really is a nice blend of cinnamon, amber, leather, woods and other spices. It’s balanced with a little bit of freshness from the rose and citruses. Performance seems slightly above average, I’m sure it’s been reformulated. I have no interest in a fb, but I wouldn’t mind having it and I’d probably use it every once in a while. I’ll just enjoy my sample.

I’m liking it even more as it dries down. Maybe I’ll get a fb if I see a good deal. I’m not a hater so I wouldn’t mind adding this to the collection.

Dr.fraggy

There’s nothing wrong with the smell, it smells pretty good. Although it’s very overused. The price is reasonable and it lasts pretty long. It’s a great compliment getter by mostly girls. So the conclusion is that if you don’t want to be unique it’s a good winter fragrance.

Honkymagoo

Anyone that hates this is just being a hipster. You can wear your $400 bottle of feces water and feel superior but that doesn't make this a bad fragrance.

lemalelmao

Why does it sell like ultramale or afnan 9pm for me

MrBlosm

idk why people hate on it tbh it smells delicious

Yungjoey154

A scent of power. This fragrance is very popular around the world currently and has an enourmas silliage.

Trendkill97

Classic. Likeable scent, it's gained all the popularity for good reason. The grapefruit and blood orange mix that this opens up with is very juicy bringing in sweetness, slowly the spices and cinnamon kick-in right after, and then theres an amber, typical tonka beans base and soft leather woodsy backbone that stays throughout, allowing the sweetness to slowly take over the scent profile. Nice use of synthetics, great projection in the sweat, outgoing and playful, on cooler days, in the air smells very pleasant and instantly is very likeable to the people who usually aren't that much into fragrances, this one, the Sauvage and Aventus DNAs, for me has almost always gotten me surprisingly good reactions from people around, somehow it just works, somewhat like magic. These scent profiles are loved by wild majority of people. This has similarities with JPG Le Male a little bit, Halloween Man X, a bit of Armani Code Profumo, and many others I'm sure, it's become a common smell. In short its that sweet spiced leather with a standard tonka base with good performance suited for younger and extroverted party goers usually. 7/10

TheSkyEleven

I had my first bottle back in 2008 (circa) when it has first appeared. I was amazed by it. It was autumn/winter time. And I remember I have received many compliments and people were asking what's the fragrance I'm wearing.
It was very cosy, rich and sophisticated. After that season it started gaining more and more fans. With growing popularity there appeared smelling like 1 million planty of dupes. And I started hating it. This faked, improvised golden scent was recognisable everywhere. But it wasn't the real Paco Rabanne and it was badly close enough. I have never bought 1 million again. I still have a little left from the first bottle and I think I still keep it somewhere. Last time when I sniffed it about 2 years ago, it still was rich and warm. It was such a shame it became so widely improvised and copied and I can understand why people dislike it. Because of those many bad dupes. I think of buying sample box with Paco's best frags and try it out just to see if it's still rich and warm as it was back in then.

SmellFragDaily

The fact that this is seen as a classic & people used to genuinely wear this is mind boggling to me. 1 million before I bought a bottle I saw it as a classic, people said it was a staple in the fragrance industry. Now, I'm not saying it's always been like this but I bought a bottle on 04/11/23 and it smells amazing when you first spray it. However, the dry down is a huge disappointment. I can't describe the smell I get once this has been on the skin or clothes for a couple of hours but my god it stinks. I had one person tell me I smell bad... don't buy unless they make a new version of this.

machoscent

Absolutely gorgeous scent. I love its drydown. To all the fragcom snobs saying bad things about this scent seriously you're just sheeps eating grass parroting what is told by fragcom YouTube "influencers". Gorgeous scent, period.

drraccoon

Too much for my nose. Amber citrus bomb. Overpowering. I dislike this fragrance, especially on myself. But I do see the appeal. If you’re into particularly sharp scents that don’t waste time with introductions, might be for you.

50shadesofscent

Worth revisiting now that the hype has calmed down. In 20 years it will be seen as a classic.

SUpa_present

Smells similar to Le Male. I dislike the scent profile, it's very sharp and retro. Not a fan of how prominent the amber is as well.
FYI I'm not jumping on the hate bandwagon. When I got a decant I really wanted to like it, but it's just not my cup of tea.
However I will say, the Royal is fantastic and a much more smooth and refined alternative to this.

AquaRegia

Paco Rabanne's 1 Million – a fragrance that has undeniably etched itself into the annals of perfume history. It's a scent that tends to polarize – you either adore it, like I do, or you find yourself on the other end of the spectrum. Introduced nearly 15 years ago, it has not lost its charm and remains a stalwart companion for clubbing and revelry, especially during the winter months. The aroma it exudes is a spirited fusion of spices, leather, rose, citrus, and woods, creating a comforting yet invigorating blend that's ideal for those electrifying party nights. Its projection is formidable, with the power to envelop even the largest of rooms, and its longevity easily exceeds the 8-hour mark.

1 Million's cultural significance is immense, and it has woven itself into the fabric of society. Nearly everyone has encountered its audacious and assertive presence. It has been the chosen fragrance for countless young souls looking to leave a lasting impression on the dancefloor. The magnetism of 1 Million is undeniable, and it has an unforgettable quality, often intertwined with the vivacious atmosphere of a nightclub. However, its ubiquity has also cast a shadow, as some may associate 1 Million with memories of impulsive and remorseful one-night encounters.

Yet, in my firm belief, 1 Million is worthy of its status as a timeless addition to any fragrance collection. It's perfect for those special occasions, particularly winter dinner parties, where its enchanting blend shines. Even on the coldest and gloomiest evenings, the fragrance's warmth and its golden, glimmering essence continue to charm and allure. It's a scent that embodies provocation, exuberance, and tenacity – all qualities that mirror the essence of a true millionaire. So, whether you're hitting the club or donning your finest attire for an elegant soirée, 1 Million stands as a magnetic choice that delivers a statement like no other. 💰🕺🌟

Toby Alexandru

Another scent the fragrance community loves to hate.

As a fragrance guy I get that it’s certainly sweet, maybe too much for some, but the opening is just sooooo pleasing and sexy. This is honestly one of my most complimented fragrances of all time. Used to be my signature for fall and winter and even though I don’t really wear it too much any more, it’s still a great fragrance. Especially good for going out or you can keep it subtle and sexy with less sprays. Longevity is amazing on my skin and so is the projection. There’s a reason this is still around 15 years later and I would reckon it’ll stick around for a lot longer. A timeless classic that has aged like fine wine.
Definitely a beastly fall, winter and night out scent.

SwampSaddle

A warm, sweet cinnamon scent that would work well with colder weather. I feel like I've experienced this scent profile a million times over, however.

worth1969

I try to keep it positive, but this stuff is just rank!
So sickly sweet and effeminate without even the slightest touch of class.
The juice is just just as tacky as the bottle!

truerebellion

There's something in this that registers as paint to my nose and it ruins anything good about it. Like children's tempera finger paint from 1995. What is that???

zavebreezy

max j norton wears this fragrance

TupacAmaruShakur

Ppl are complaining about longevity and projection, really? Is 1 million so bad performance wise in year 2022-2023???

My bottle is from 2014, all i need is 2 sprays and I fill up a room and it lasts 24h.

80Days

I had my doubts because of the notoriously tacky bottle, but in moderation, I find this quite pleasant.

Generally I have to over-spray because my body kills fragrance, but I am aware of wearing this two hours later with just having applied four sprays. (25 sprays of Spicebomb Extreme are imperceptible on me at arms length after an hour, according to the women in the next office over, for example.)

Projection of 1 Million on me is well under arms length after two hours (at four sprays), but it's still there.

It definitely skews quite sweet, like an inexplicable dessert. I can see the potential for over-application being barfy, but kept subtle, it's a keeper for me.

arefuthescroob

Love these warm citrusy sweet spices on my hubby

Adri.p1000

Really loved this for last 7 years it smells realy gr8
But we really need to get strong version with better longevity and projection . But don't change the profile
Latest flankers are good in their own way sweet good performance. Why can the do proper more potent version of this

Bradysmellz

1 milly is too sweet and i like like sweet but this is booty

Ginbae

The first thing that hits is that strong mint flavor. Personally, I'm not the biggest fan of mint (for example in ice cream) but it isn't that bad after like 15 minutes.
I first was a bit confused about the "bubblegum" flavor but now I do kind of get that same wibe. Sweet and I can see why it works.
For the price I think this is worth it. Definetely can be unique too and especially if people start to forget this.

Cowboy87

A classic! Warm, spicy, opens with mandarin and cinnamon (somewhat bubble gum) and dries down better. I would note this is a younger man's scent but still nice. I thought by 2023 it would smell dated or I would be tired of it due to its popularity but I still enjoy it every time I reach for it.

canabena

My boyfriends dad gifted him a bottle its very nice I immediately picked up on the cinnamon and mint. I find this very sweet for a mens cologne I feel like I could possibly get away with wearing this haha. I don't find this very intoxicating or sexy like some of his other colognes but that doesn't mean it isn't nice. I think this makes a good first date scent for men its like youre not trying too hard and gives the impression of "the good guy."

nirvblakr

I will try wearing this daily for a week to change my rotation format. Opening is spicy citrus with a floral powdery dry down. As I remember when buying this that it is a fresh scent good for warm summer days but as it dries down, it can be also worn in cool weather for casual wear. Nothing unique here except the bottle. Hoping it might improve in the coming days.

Kyely

This is definitely one of my favorite men’s fragrance. It is a very pleasant, sweet smell, and I think it is a nice men’s fragrance. It is creamy and warm and welcoming.

BrianFantana

This has always been great. People bitched about it being too strong and "sickly sweet" for years, but now those same guys are wearing Stronger With You Intensely, Angel's Share, and all of the Elixirs.

ivelino

I'm enjoying this fragrance in 2023. The One Million EDT is better suited for cooler months and night-time rather than summer daytime wear. The dry down is impressive, reminiscent of both "The One Intense" by D&G and "Le Male" by JPG, yet it maintains its own distinct character. However, it's not a subtle scent, so it's crucial not to over-apply, as that could lead to a nauseating effect.

Gray44

It's a very good and unique scent, synthetic, excellent for winter, maybe fall and spring.
But don't wear this in summer guys, it has nauseating effect when it gets too hot!

AyeDeeBee

I like This! It’s a bit sharp, but doesn’t bother me. The cinnamon and spice really pops in this fragrance. I find it to lean more masculine, but can definitely be worn by a confident boss babe

BobTheFragMan

A modern classic. Hate on it if you feel the need to... whatever. It filled a gap in the fragrance world in 2008 and it still fills a gap now. If that gap is not one you need filling then all the power to you, there's no need to throw hate at it.

It may not be to everyone's liking but there's no denying it works, and works well, for a great many people and their lifestyle. Some have outgrown it, some are growing into it. The cycle continues. When people say 'it's worn out', then that's probably because it's worn out for them and their place in life - it doesn't mean it's 'worn out' for everyone else.

C'mon people, give credit where credit's due. It's a good fragrance and a great entry point to the fragrance world for a new (and old) generation of fragrance lovers.

LazyNorwegianMan

I'd say it smells good, but it's been worn out through the years, anyone above the age of 20 will recognize this and get throwbacks to school, this may be good for some but probably not for the most, I would suggest something among the Stronger with you line if you're looking for something warm, sweet and spicy as they are more modern and not as worn out as 1 Million, I have smelled Spice bomb extreme too which has blown up in the past few years which might also be a better alternative.
So if you are currently around the age of 14-16 or something then this might be a good choice as people your age won't have smelled this in the past I would assume

konchokjenpa

Hatred, pure hatred. I got a little bit on my hand while spraying on a test strip in Ulta, and it was all I could smell for the next hour+. So at least I'll give it a good mark for performance 'cause it is strong as shit. As far as the smell, I cannot stand it. Some kind of cinnamon burnt marshmallow semi-gourmand horror. Cloying as fuck. Not masculine at all. If I got near a man and he smelled like this I'd leave.

bajablast

My boyfriend's been wearing this for almost a decade now. He wore this in middle school and is still wearing it as we're about to graduate from university. Such a great scent. Overpowers every other fragrance in the room Lol

scenturian

I love this because of the rubber/plastic note.

idycill

Okay fragrance for starting a collection. Not the best, but it gets the job done well if you just wanna smell good. Not suited for people who don't like "sweet" fragrances. Doesn't project the best, but imo the nice scent makes up for it. Solid 6.5/10

lxaxtxi

I clearly have some problems with sweet frags, cause I can not stand this one.
The dry down is a little better, at least.

I have no doubts it works wonders in the air, during a sweaty night party, but damn if it’s cloying.

Kesaev

Wearing this after years not touching it. It’s still amazing. I was worried that they watered down this scent but when I compare the 2014 batch with the 2022 batch they are the same. The older bottle smells ofc a bit more harsh in the opening because of maceration but after a couple of minutes it’s the same.

10/10

Cristina S.

It's interesting to see how this became such a huge crowd pleaser. There was a time when teenagers wore aquatic perfumes (like CK One or Aqua di Gio), then a shift: this became the new thing. It happened when I was in high school, about ten years ago. I don't love this, I think it's ok. I would probably like it more if it wasn't EVERYWHERE. I appreciate the fact that it's different from the male parfumes I would encounter when I was growing up - all reminiscent of manly shower gels. This is more interesting, warm, androgynous even.

DickersonAK

I think this only gets hate because it was so hyped or because they have smelt it everywhere to often.. Pretty sure if it was in a niche bottle and it was their first time smelling it alot of these haters would be sending praise 🤷

saulgoodman

1 million is overhated fs, but also the nostalgia for some people makes it seem better than it is, its kinda mid at first but it gets better but Id still recommend something like D&G The One, it has a less offensive start and sweeter drydown even though the sillage is worse it still tops, overall 1 million isn't bad but not great, 5/10

monsieur.moustache

There's a natural human tendency to repudiate that which is good in the service of establishing street cred and boosting one's self esteem. That's what's up with the haters on this.

Apparently, this was an uber popular clubbing fragrance when it came out. Luckily I wasn't as in to fragrances at the time and I've never been a part of the clubbing scene (yeah yeah, lame I know).

This shit smells amazing. The opening isn't extremely impressive. But the drydown is. This became popular for a reason and presumably it wasn't entirely due to the tacky bottle.

9/10

GoldDragon

my 1st purchse for this line.. has a nice riped mango/tropical :) yum yum my royal bottle is coming as well and i heard its stronger....i usually get the best of the best

Psalzarulo

Paco Rabanna knows how to do sweet, flirty scents the right way. To my palate this is warm apple pie with vanilla ice cream and a sprig of mint. It's not overly sweet or obnoxious as the bottle might suggest. If I needed a clubbing cologne and I was in my late teens/early 20's this would be at the top of my list

There's no doubt it smells great and I would say this is a pretty safe blind buy at the current price. I understand a lot of people prefer some of the flankers to the original so I would suggest sniffing those as well if you're interested

8.5/10 for me as the scent really is great and should last a while. 9/10 if you plan on wearing it the the club/etc., but I'm biased towards office friendly scents.

knightlore

I love this scent .. EDT is still good in 2023 .. Good Projection .. Lasts 12hrs + on my skin.

bergamotti

It's quite common for all the boys aged 13-18 in my country to wear this fragrance, and it can be a bit overwhelming when you go to the grocery store and every other little boy has wet himself with this.

Boxing Wiz

I have a 6.8oz bottle of this that is over half full and another 6.8oz bottle of the One Million Parfum that is probably 3/4 full that I never wear. I have had too many different EDP's that were very similar to these, I got bored of the scent. If someone would like them and would trade something for them send me a message.

liam04

I gave this a full wear today and here's my thoughts.

1 Million is a strong-projecting fragrance with a conglomerate of notes that make for a sweet-smelling bright and spicy fragrance. It's stood the test of time and is one of the all-time greats for a reason. Reasonably priced, projects and lasts for a large amount of time. It's pretty much everything you want in a fragrance.

For some, it might be too sweet. For some, it might be too overused. And, for some it might be too outdated. All of these are valid criticisms but ultimately doesn't deny the glory of this fragrance. It's trendy to hate on, but the reality is that 80%+ of the people you cross don't wear fragrance at all. Make of that what you will, but i still wouldn't be afraid to wear it, especially if you're youthful with a bright attitude to account for it. Accessible from Winter through to Spring, I think it will hold up just fine in almost any occasion in the colder - mild weather.

Lastly, there are definitely flankers of this that would have a more modern and youthful feel. Prive, Lucky, Elixir, Royal. Look at the notes and decide what suits you the best. Paco Rabanne hit it out the park with this modern classic, and still continue to release excellent flankers of this.

Fragrantica love to hate on things that are trendy. It's weird.

littlefang

I don't care if its overrated, I LOVE this scent. I wear it myself as a girl but also love how it smells on my boyfriend!

stievenko

It’s sooo cool to hate on 1 million ehh, guys 😉 Makes you feel like a real connoisseur, no?! 🤷♂️

From a guy with about 200 frags in the collection, mostly niche, and 16 years of sniffing hundreds of fragrances, I can definitely understand the hype it used to get. And also, I get it, why there’s so many hate today.
Just realize 1 thing, your and my opinion don’t matter, as it still sells quite good today. Our fragrance “community” is like 0,00000001% or so of the world.

A modern classic, already available at the Osmotheque in Paris which is like a library for the best perfumes in modern history.

9/10 for me (for the first formulation)!

Bicr

I still love this stuff- Sure many have tried to copy it but- 1 million is so popular for a reason. Pay no attention to the negativity- try it for yourself.. 1 Million Prive, absolute Gold and Intense all are awesome too...

Artome03

I got a sample of 1 Million at Macy's back in 2010 and tried it for the first time; it made no impression on me. After it got very popular I ran across the sample again in my drawer and was excited to try it again. I put on three sprays. It was my worst experience with a fragrance ever, in 25 yrs. First frag I actually washed off soon after wearing. I did try it a third time with lighter sprays and concluded this is not for me. There is a very pungent note in 1 Million that is overpowering to some people, the sweetness notwithstanding.

Chaseforpresident

Honestly a great woody apple and spicy fragrance that I’m not sure why it gets hated on so much. Sure there are better options such as lucky and prive and it might smell a little “outdated” but one million is a great fragrance alone and is hated on for no reason. 7.8/10

flem

This is a strong hate from me. Reminds me of Joop! Not because of the way it smells exactly (though there are some sweet/urinal cake/medicinal similarities) but in the way that it’s overpowering, dated, nauseating, and unpleasant.

fragrantlyenhanced

stuck in highscool scent lol. but nah it's good for what it used to be. but easily forgotten when tastes have developed further. it's not that i dislike this specifically.. i had good memories wearing it but i find myself being quite repulsed by it now ngl purely from scent/memory association cuz this takes me back to lot of bad nights out. apart from that if the og formula is still existing today its quite a legendary frag. if not then from what i vaguely remember lucky and elixir are also good

garett

I got n number of clones of this perfume (some local brands /some international) , and some with even better power or longevity so , these days I am like , I dont need to buy the real one anymore and go with even cheaper clones which kick major butt.

Smell wise ->I will always like it as it reminds of past or fun and frolic. If bieber would use some perfume , it seems like it would be this

rxp

Nauseating.

Got it as a gift, and I gave it away.

ali_minaj

my very first perfume ...
ahh time flies ..
but i dont like it like i used to because i think its fits more to young guys
(im 27 now)

cleanirene

I’m obsessed with this on my man! It’s warm, spicy and seductive – perfect anytime anywhere.

bangster1234

CONS: It is overrated but that does not stop it from being a good fragrance. I can smell men wearing the 1 million in the gyms i go to and i can agree with the fact that it has a nauseating odor to it especially when the fragrance itself is mixed with putrid sweat during a workout session as it really brings out and emphasizes the bad odor a dude has. It is all personal experience with smelling them from sweaty people. BUT, this fragrance got me a lot of insults. My classmates found it too strong and annoying to the nose. It has great longevity which means prolonged complaints with peers. It is a very warm climate here in the Philippines and i would not recommend this fragrance in tropical climates.

PROS: With all the negatives aside, i did get a lot of compliments during my prom night, as the cold air-conditioned ball room made the fragrance less stinky with odor. it is sweet to peoples noses and appropriate for certain occations like a prom night, a date night, in a mall, but never in a hot day in a park. I recommend placing 2 on the pulse points on your neck, and a spray at any side of your shoulder or u spray it directly at your chest, as the fragrance sticks really well on suits.

All the negative reviews on this fragrance is because of its popularity. I give the scent a 10/10, it's a familiar scent but it's a perfect 10/10

ideal.my.fav

I will never judge anything by looking at the reviews again never! Fragrances that I've avioded trying because of the reviews: One Million edt, Invictus edt, Sauvage edt, Acqua di gio edt and now I have all of those fragrances.. They are just perfect compliment getters and that's why they are so popular have been used by many people. I love them all.

One Million: Opens up with some lovely warm and sweet citruses mixed with cinnamon. Dries down to this mellow, warm woods with a touch of a spice which is not overpowering at all that's what makes this fragrance amazing. So professional. I like the quality of it even tho many thinks it is synthetic. Of course it is since it is a designer fragrance but the smoothness and the perfect composition makes it a quality fragrance in my opinion. If you want a fresher alternative that gets even more copliments, then get Invictus edt which is the king of compliments in my collection.

Scent 9.5/10
Longeity 9/10
Projection 7/10
Silage 8/10
Price 8/10

Don't mind the reviews and try it yourself before make a judgement.

hnoel1210

Not sure why so many negative comments.
As a women, I LOVE this. Not ground breaking, but super sexy. Something I’d love to smell on a man, anyday, everyday. Yum 💕

Like sweet and spicy patchouli.

Cholera

Spicy mandarin and rose with leather. A bit synthetic but it is sexy, sweet and unique. I used to love it and still do but now I feel like there are better options out there, still nice and lovely for cold weather night outs.

electros

Smells like a more woody, spicier YSL Y Le Parfum

Ghadah02

I'm surprised I liked this. It's very different in a good way I'm someone who dislikes cinnamon as a note but here it is blended well. It's hard to dislike this even if you hate how cinnamon smells.

I would love to smell others with this more than on myself. I forgot how popular this was and now I don't smell it anymore it's like people forgot about this fragrance I only remembered it after my friend used it and I asked what fragrance he is using. I really forgot what 1 million smells like.

kaipeiris

My favorite. Feel like most of the negativity from this cologne comes from its popularity around 10 years ago, and not the scent itself. Buy this one instead of any of the flankers, it's easily the best.

So much color and vibrance in the scent. intoxicating in the best way possible. it works fantastic and doesn't cloy. I live in a hot climate but it still works well and doesn't cloy even during the daytime.

Projection, sillage, and longevity are definitely up there. Very sweet so either you like it or you don't. Top notes are superior, but dry-down is hit-and-miss for some.

Overall: Great for the young generation (17-23) as women that age may not have experienced the huge boom of the early 2010s when every guy would wear this masterpiece, almost like the sauvage of 2010 because of how popular it was.

ChooChooSmellington

Got diabetes from spraying this. It's well blended but the scent is very off-putting and synthetic in a bad way to me. I like sweet fragrances, but with some restraint and balance. This is straight sweet, very much like a bubblegum, kinda reminds me of those cheap fruity bubblegum that you spit after 5 minutes.

Zepster77

Tested a recent bottle.
Loud, sweet, pleasant opening that didn’t stay pleasant for long.
Linear scent, the following hours lacked any character or spark of spice for life - it stayed simply for lack of a better word: “blah”.
I gave several sprays to my sweater in the afternoon. The next morning I can hardly pick up any trace of it, which is just as well as I was beyond tired of the dull drydown it had become.
I thought I needed this; sure am glad I was able to test it first. Maybe earlier versions were better, but damned if I’m going to bother myself to track those down - despite having become indeed a bit of a vintage hound. It gets a great big PASS from this very young at heart 60yr-old whose journey began in earnest in 2020.

Saxen

An absolute classic, and one that has a special place in my heart - it was my first proper fragrance, received as a gift way back in the early 2010's, but being a dumb nerdy teen, I just didn't appreciate it at the time. I emptied my first bottle long before I really got into the world of scents, and once I had the chance to reacquire it for cheap, I did not hesitate.

Sadly it's not going to top my lists any time soon; I think I prefer Most Wanted EDP over this for pretty much all use cases, but I totally get why it was and still is so popular - fresh juicy blood orange and grapefruit notes mixed with sweet, earthy cinnamon, almost has a chocolate quality to it, but also a bit of spice that I'm not sure I can identify. Fairly "loud" compared to other scents in my collection, sure to grab people's attention, provided they aren't too familiar with it already, I've already experienced people identifying it a couple times haha.

ThatBlindbuyGuy

1 million is a one in a million fragrance,

I remember my Ex buying me this and it blowing me away the opening sparkled off my wrist
like liquid gold, maybe the scent inspired the bottle design and not the other way round.

As I've been reading a few reviews on here it seems fragrance history has been re-written by people whom I would guess were too young to remember the time period, this wasn't the first fragrance of its kind for a mainstream designer house, it wasn't ground breaking in that way, if we are talking super sweet & unisex marketed to men that breakthrough started with Black XS, but I'll save that story for another day, back to reviewing 1 million.

To me this is one of a handful of fragrances that I believe are perfect, can't be improved on, no amount of tweaking can improve this fragrance and all the flankers fail to capture its magic.
For me this fragrance will always be associated with the Christmas and New Year holiday period,
maybe it's the way the fragrance sparkles and radiates off the skin with a spicy but crisp sweetness, or maybe it is because it was around that time when I first wore 1 Million, or both. Either way I look forward to the next december to spray this beautiful scent on me once again. This scent in the air is beautiful even better than smelling it up-close, and to me that is the way a fragrance should be judged.

I'm only on my second bottle since it was first gifted to me long ago, both have been only 50ml, but as you only need two sprays and I only wear it around December and January 50ml lasts years.

To many the bottle design is tacky, maybe, but it sure captures what I smell inside, liquid gold. Just wish the bottle had a normal cap sprayer rather than this awkward press-able cut-in that is temperamental.

Longevity: 9-10 hours (18-20 hours on clothes)
Projection: Strong for 4-5 hours, moderate for 4 more before then becoming more of a skin scent, impressive
beautiful silage, sparkly and effervescent.
Scent: 10/10 Perfect

divinecervine

almost got ran over by a car while smelling a test strip of this perfume on the street two hours ago. if I died and the last thing I smelled was this, i'd be bummed

Lindopr

I used to love it. Now I don’t like it anymore is like to spicy now for me.

Zanerkand

I'm obsessed with fragrances and I can't stop buying all of the new releases; I'm always looking for the next future classic.

And you sometimes forget about the amazing fragrances already out there just like this.

So beautiful; cinnamon and rose combo. It has incredible projection and good longevity (about 5 hours).

Compliment magnet and I'm so glad I've found it again.

HannahRosesAreRed

1 Million by Paco Rabanne is to men what YSL Black Opium or Carolina Herrera Good Girl is to women. This is the quintessential young man's party fragrance, the kind he spritzes on as he and his mates go cruising down the streets at night, hanging in nightclubs, slamming back drinks and haphazardly picking up girls. That's not necessarily a bad thing–man, woman or otherwise, we are all entitled to our skanky party perfumes when we go out to our sleazy, fun weekend outings! For that end, 1 Million does just that.

It features many scent notes associated with a particular sort of masculinity, one that leans slightly younger and reckless–strong, spicy, woody notes, a strong cinnamon and mannish patchouli. I detect a strange, almost gourmand dark chocolate note at the heart–perhaps this is the result of pairing spices with sharper citruses such as bergamot. It smells almost like a masculine Good Girl, with chocolate and cinnamon swapped for coffee and almond. It's a tad strong to my nose, extremely heady and assertive–again, that serves its purpose as a man-skank party cologne. I don't think it's a bad smell, but it's a tad too immature for my tastes. As a woman, I'd find this a bit overbearing and heady on a guy, but I imagine there are plenty who find this yummy and alluring, especially the college coeds among us.

Sillage: 7.5/10
Longevity: 9/10
Value: 8.5/10

Overall: 8.5/10

Would I recommend it?

Yes, it's a timeless classic, it's spicy, sweet and safe, this was the first fragrance I ever got and it is also one of my most complimented ones. Longevity is great it lasts 6-8 hours on my skin and furthermore on clothes. This performs best during colder weather so winter and autumn is the time.

zckybst

Updated review..

Weak to moderate projection but leaves a nice scent trail for hours.

If you prefer sillage over projection, this is it.

Longevity wise easy 8+hrs.

Overall i give this
Scent: 8/10
Performance: 7/10

When I first smelled this like 12 yrs ago , I got really excited someone was wearing my beloved Versace The Dreamer. Then I smelled it again recently and once again I thought it was The Dreamer but I realized that this EDT is IDENTICAL to the Versace The Dreamer from the late 90s (not sure how much they tweaked the formula since then). None of the others from the Million line have this VTD profile. I’ll have to check out the new Dreamer formula and see if it’s the same - that’ll give folks a name brand clone for half the price of this.

whatsbrowafflinabout

when i first smelt this at the mall, i nearly cried
incredible.

spicy, sweet, a little floral(?)
I can see why this was so popular.

Still holds up today.

Lasts about 7-8h on my skin

RafaMillen1129

Purchased a sample of this to find out why this is seemingly loved by many with heaps of positive reviews and hype. On my skin it smelt like loads of perfumes of the past. One spray and knew it wasn't at all for me. Tried to wash it off but like many fragrances I don't like it wouldn't totally come off so unwillingly I lived with it and didn't live with it long enough to experience its phases of change.

I had a roommate who was a pastry chef from France. He doused himself with the old green bottle Paco Rabanne which I had to live with 24/7 so I may be negatively biased although I do pick up the PR dna.

Rohaan_A

2023 i still rock this 😎. who cares if it smells old, whats important is it smells AMAZING. Also a very nostalgic scent, lots of holidays attached to this

NibloSenior

Undoubtedly an important fragrance in the history of men's fragrances
One million is a player
A hustler
The hate put upon it is similar to that of sauvage,
It's so good people force themselves to hate it
Sweet cinnamon citrus opening
With a sweet powdery dry down
Along side performance that will leave you wetting your pants
10/10

ideal.my.fav

I don't agree with the review below. If you want the real characteristic DNA go with the OG. Parfum, Elixir, Lucky or prive have nothing to to with the original scent. Best opening in the market that must be smelled from a distance because it is strong as hell and you only can smell all the notes if you put some distance when you smell it. It is timeless in my opinion that leads so many sweet fragrance in the market. Starter of this DNA. But I prefer Invictus OG over this becaus of the freshness and the versatility.

samudex

Every time I try to use this fragrance I end up washing my skin with soap. I don't suffer from allergies at all but there is something between the cinnamon and the oriental note that bothers my nose.

imaginetoot

I think it's one of the many mainstream fragrances without a soul. It's overdone, too exaggerated and too intense. It reminds me of young men in discotheques trying to be macho, not confident enough to approach women. You know what I need? I need a fragrance with a story, with a soul.

Lgapafto

A generic and safe sweet scent. It's good but not for me.

Sweetboy05

I smelled this today in Ulta and....

Maybe I treated this too harshly. I actually really like this. It's not as bad as I initially thought. The flankers are still better imo, but I think I've come around to it. And who knows? Maybe I'll even get it.

ahmedbaig

I blindly bought it after seeing everyone go crazy for it, and guess what? I did not like it at all.. I did not really like the combination of sweet and spice specifically in this fragrance. Sold it out within a week! 🤣

Kittycat63

Yuck, I DETEST this fragrance. It's nauseatingly cloying and sickly sweet, totally unlike the type of clean, fresh, sexy men's fragrance that would attract me! This fragrance, along with Kouros (which is totally different though - cold, clinical and antiseptic smelling!), are two of my most detested fragrances, male, female or unisex! I'd urge any sane man who actually has good taste, and who doesn't feel the need to go along with lots of other people, to avoid One Million at all costs!

P.S. Someone here in their review has said that they get nausea when they wear One Million for some reason, but that other than that it is a still a gem! Hmm, is it just me but how on earth does a fragrance that induces nausea get classed by that person as being a "gem" ??! Fragrances that make me queasy are anything BUT a gem in my books and I'd class as disgusting scrubbers that are best forgotten in a hurry and NEVER smelled again! So, the person who has contradicted themselves by saying this fragrance makes them sick yet that it's a gem clearly doesn't want to admit that they dislike a fragrance that, for some strange reason (brain-washing advertising campaigns!), has become annoyingly popular amongst some of the male population.

femmeblush

this is an absolute panty dropper. my favourite popular men’s fragrance. a guy i was seeing spritzed this on the sleeve of my coat and wow. wow wow wow. i could smell it on me for weeks to come. amazing longevity

ShowMustGoOn

Kind of sweet, surprised it’s in men’s section of Sephora. Easily a female fragrance. I usually stay away from Paco Rabanne and never tried this or its flankers. I am strongly considering getting a full bottle now. Deliciously sweet, yet spicy, and unlike anything in my collection. Interesting release but I don’t think I would like my guy to smell so sweet. This is definitely great for a woman in my opinion. Also not a fan of the gaudy bottle but can live with it.

ex0r

it won't cause any headache if sprayed from the arm-long distance.
2 sprays on the neck are correct.
then you get a nice mix of fruit bubble gum and a slight soapy/shampoo-like freshness hint.
I didn't like it first, but now I do.
a correct approach will be your key to success.

Invasionbg

Smelling too oriental for my liking. Almost annoyingly spicy and sweet. Easy pass for me
