I’ve yet to find a lilac perfume better than this! It’s just perfect, realistic and long-lasting, making it a wonderful bargain at the Pacifica price point.

Femkedevos

this just sparks pure joy.. my parents had a big lilac tree, so growing up, i would sniff fresh abundant lilac every year.. so ik knew i had to get a lilac perfume and this was a cheap recommendation with good reviews.. and they didn't lie.. its very realistic. In the opening it is quite indolic, but as soon as that goes away its lilac, transporting me right back to my childhood.. beautifull.. longevity isnt great, but the price is good, so thats no problem for me... i will definately have a bottle of this on hand every spring for the upcoming years.

Anamandy

Contrary to the name this is not a lilac soliflore. It's a big mix bouquet of spring florals with a strong lilac note. The lilac here is idealized, much larger than anything you'll find in real life. I can only handle the body mist of this fragrance because the silage is enormous for the perfume. The body mist is softer and more natural, like smelling flowers on the breeze as opposed to sticking your face in a bouquet, or rather being clubbed over the head with one which is how the edp wears on me. Surprisingly, the body mist last just as long as the perfume does, which is about 5 hours - longer on clothes. Can't beat that for something I purchased a bottle of for less than $10 a few years ago.

This might scratch that itch when you want to smell lilacs, but if you are seeking a more sedate and natural interpretation of a lilac perfume or something more on the line of a true soliflore, look elsewhere. There is a lot more going on here than just that.

MalibuMermaid

I’ve been wearing this in the spring for 10 years. It is an awesome spring floral- pretty and classy and non offensive. It is natural smelling like real fresh flowers with nothing synthetic. It is certainly lilac forward but I also get a lot of hyacinth which is delightful. The longevity is surprisingly good for a brand that limits its ingredients (non toxic). The scent is linear so remains the same from first spray to 2 hours later. I’m so happy Pacifica continues to make this product and I hope they never discontinue it!

Beanie1991

I've owned this perfume for quite some time now and I also had a bottle of lilac fragrance oil laying around as well. I noticed a bit of an alcohol smell with the perfume after not using it for a while and I'd put enough of a dent in it so I figured "hmm I wonder if my lilac oil would help with the alcohol smell" and wow, did it ever. I thought the stuff was strong before, but now everyone keeps asking me where the lilac smell is coming from in November. I loved it before and I love it now.

rene.saller

I have the hair and body mist of this scent, and it's excellent--I find that it complements my "real" perfumes quite nicely and is inexpensive enough to use as a general room spray when I just want to smell lilacs. I have never tried the actual perfume version, but the mist is so good that I see no reason to have both. I really like the Pacifica scents that i have tried and might check out more of the mists, since hair is such a good conduit for scent.

Update: I bought the EDP too, and it has much better throw and longevity than the body mist. I like to layer it over fading fragrances with similar notes. I put some on over the lingering base of Lalique de Lalique, which I put on earlier today. With the addition of lilacs, it smells more like Pleasures than Beautiful now.

brightawake

I had a full bottle that I’m not replacing now that’s it’s run out. It’s a very realistic lilac, which is a smell I love, but it’s also pretty one-note and never really warms up on my skin. It’s great for linens and as a room spray to bring in the scent of lilacs, or as a pick-me-up spritz, but I like fragrances on me to have a little more warmth and to blend into my skin more. I never tried layering with it, but I could see it layering well with white musks or vanilla.

scatteredshowers

It's so close to life, there's just a tiny "aftertaste" so to speak of something soapy and sharp. It's not strong but if you have lilac growing in your yard it will stick out. Lasts decently well and it's very affordable, but it's not quite alive. I don't know. I'm still waiting to love it.

HeatherNS

Vanilla isnt listed, but this has a slight undertone of vanilla to me. Fresh, green, realistic lilac with a hint of vanilla.

elamoein

This is lilac, nice pure real lilac, exactly how it smells when it blooms the most.

Nosestalgic

If you adore the scent of lilacs, this is a great lilac scent. It is not quite fresh lilacs, there's definitely something "perfumey" about the lilac scent, but it is absolutely an authentic type of lilac scent that smells like bit has a bit of complexity to it. Unlike other scents that smell like a candle. It is lovely and nostalgic for me. This scent is strong and long lasting.

Sheherazad

So surprised how nice this is. I didn’t expect much & only tried it because received a freebie bottle. Such a pretty, indolic lilac w/ a smidge of magnolia trailing behind. Though other notes are listed, they don’t appear for me. Which is fine bcz the lilac is one of the nicest I’ve come across in awhile. Yes, it leans a bit synthetic but not enough to turn me away. It’s actually quite an impressive lilac/magnolia blend for such a cheapie scent. You go, Pacifica! 👏🏽

saho93

It’s pleasant and pretty nice, though there is a teeny bit of an unknown note that throws me off. Not sure what it is.

So far my favorite lilac perfume is Aerin’s Lilac Path, which is so gorgeous and pretty.

Kcxbutterfly

At first smells like baby powder then dries down to a fresh green floral like you are in a English garden.
I like mixing it with vanilla forward or berry deep perfumes to add some complexity.

fragrancenovice

This review is based on a spritz from a tester of the perfume at Target. My goodness, this stuff is STRONG! It lasted for at least 8 hours on my dry, perfume eating skin. I could still smell it a little after I washed my arm!

I'm surprised to read that it has a nectarine note in it because all I got was lilac. Strong lilac.

I'd say this isn't a safe blind buy or gift because it's so strong and so exclusively lilac. If you know the recipient likes lilac, then it's a safe gift. And I'd spray it carefully if you work in an office and sit close to people, or take mass transit.

cbarbee

I’m a fan of the show Bridgerton, and in the second season the man is intoxicated by her lilac scent. Ever since I wanted to try out wearing lilac myself. This is an amazing cheapie that smells so divine! It’s floral without feeling choking or old. I picture a walk through a garden wearing a long dress in this.

AdalynEverly

First Impressions (sample spray):
OH MY GOODNESS. This is one of my favorite samples from the sampler pack I got from target. I never thought I would like the smell of lilacs, but boy do I love the smell. This fragrance makes me want to explore more perfumes that have lilac in them. I do not care if its considered a vintage or old lady smell. This lilac fragrance smells like you just smelled a creamy lilac from the bush. Be careful though indolic perfumes can smell really different on everyone's skin chemistry.
Edit:
Someone made the comment that it smells almost like nail polish. Sad now I can smell it :(.

Summary:
Smells like: plush lilac. Lilac + vanilla
Family of: amouage lilac love (- baby wipes)
Silage: moderate

Verdict:
Pass-smells like old nail polish

Lewlux

Not an old powdery lilac, but not a freshly-picked one either. It's the fruity/'yellow' flower notes must be well blended because it makes the lilac come off sort of... creamy? Without being vintage lilac. Odd, not what I wanted after seeing fresh and green notes (maybe besides the first few seconds?) when looking for a Brocard's Romance dupe.

caprilyic

too strong for me personally. i think i may actually not like lilac as much as i used to

christina_6802

This perfume is actually gorgeous! Powdery, soft lilac that gives a bit of creamy vibe when warm. A little goes a long way!

sheltie9334

Have loved this one since it came out. My original bottle stayed nice for probably 8 years, then went downhill enough that I tossed it and need to buy another. I miss it. Truly the best lilac fragrance I’ve found; I don’t get the other notes, just photorealistic lilac, exactly like my lilac bush in the yard. I would pay far more for this fragrance!

sylvereapleanan

This is a clean, airy floral that is absolutely lovely without smelling like your great-aunt Mildred. If you want to smell like a lilac bush on a summer day with a light breeze, get this.

hataruna

Creamy! Sweet! Fresh! Floral! A lilac solinote for sure! And an incredible price point. All hail Pacifica!

I’m not sure I’ll ever go back to this one as I think it is a tad too creamy-sweet for me. But it was gorgeous all the same.

annema

I don't think this is "pure" lilac (in my opinion it is too sweet to smell like pure lilac) but for 20$ this is not bad at all. The staying power is surprising and it smells like sweetened lilac on my skin. The opening is harsh and synthetic but the dry-drown is much better. The dry-down is powdery sweet lilac. That's it. It is a light, non complicated perfume you wear when you just want to smell nice.

chelleholla

I have this little $20 bottle sitting proudly next to my $300+ Initio, Slumberhouse, Tom Ford, Diptyque, and Hiram Green bottles. It’s a true, sun-warmed lilac.

It can be a little astringent for the first minute or so if you spray in cool weather, but that dissipates quickly.

In hot weather the heliotrope brings an almost vanilla-like undertone that nicely compliments the lilac.

I don’t get the nectarine on my skin.

It’s a skin scent after about 3 hours on me but for the price I will gladly sacrifice longevity for this one.

hblakes70

This is nice for this brand and the cheap
Price. It def smells like spring lilacs. Lasts a few hrs. A good cheap buy to throw in your bag

xoxoacacia

LOVE this scent. long-lasting, realistic lilac scent that gets me compliments literally every time i wear it. seriously. super affordable as well. the first spray can definitely be very overwhelming but that goes away quickly.

d3athtul1ps

Bless Pacifica for making a realistic lilac scent that is cheap enough I can overspray, but strong enough that I don't really need to.

Yeah, it's not a single note, but the lilac dominates so much, it's deeply satisfying if you're looking for a strong true lilac scent. The other notes add to the ambiance, it's almost as if you're really smelling a lilac in the breeze with other flowers around.

It's also very good for layering, I love it with Trésor, Esteé Lauder Beautiful, and Miglin Goddess. Basically any time I want an extra boost of lilac. Decent sillage and longevity for the price. This one is definitely a staple of my fragrance wardrobe, especially with how affordable and accessible it is. Love it!

Lsquared

Although I personally love the way this perfume smells, I've been told (on more than one occasion) that I smell like baby wipes whenever I have it on. Not my favorite compliment tbh 🙂🫠

briannadedrew

Lilac is one of the few florals i actually love (i’m a gourmand girlie) and I think this might be the most perfect lilac scent ever. Spot on fresh lilacs. Absolutely beautiful.

gourmand_girlie

The lilac note in this is gorgeous, but the hyacinth and heliotrope take away from it. I was looking for a pure, soft, sweet lilac solinote, and unfortunately did not find it here - this smells more like some lilac blooms with part of the bush, to my nose.

Smeraldina77

This is the fragrance of real fresh lilac! Exactly what I was looking for! Perfect for spring and summer and for an unbeatable price I would say! Projection and longevity are moderate, but I think this is fine in warm / hot weather.
Highly recommended if you are looking for a really photo-realistic, not too sweet lilac scent.

Luiza.Celina

This is the most perfect lilac perfume.

We’ve had a lilac tree in my yard since I was little, and I watched it bloom every year. Every year it would get bigger and the smell would get stronger. I love when it’s warm out and the sun is hitting me and there’s a slight warm wind that carries the scent over to me. It smells so beautiful and nostalgic and just reminds me that spring/summer are here. This perfume is exactly that feeling and scent bottled. It’s beautiful and it was a love at first sniff. It’s not as “warm” like you’re sitting in the sun, it’s more like you’re in the shade so it’s “cooler”. It makes me feel girly, like I’m wearing a flowey summer dress in meadow and I’m barefoot sitting under the shade of a tree. Like i’m making flower crowns or just listening to and watching the animals. It invokes a very peaceful and happy feeling in me.

It’s fresh and light and airy and not too overpowering, and I only need a few sprays to have the scent bubble I like. It’s lovely and I’m really excited to wear it in the coming months.

I’ve been on the hunt for a lilac fragrance that smells like my lilac tree, and I randomly found this at a Nature’s Emporium on a random week night like 10 minutes before closing. I feel like it found me. 💜

gory-rilmore

As a kid, I walked home from school. There was this one stretch of the path that was partially shaded and lined with many trees, snowball bushes and, in the spring, blooming lilacs. This smells like that. It brings me right back to the school's-almost-out-for-summer feeling, the quiet of that path....sigh.

It's not the most complex scent. It's pretty much straight-up-lilac. But I think there's something about lilac that's kind of complex in itself with a balance between freshness and warmth...but maybe that's my nostalgia talking :) Being kind of a one-note scent also removes some of the "old lady" risk here; it's not muddled with any other florals, musk, or powder.

Performs quite well (for the price) in terms of longevity and sillage.

starsinhereyes

Smells just like the lilac bushes outside of my childhood home. One-note lilac that is great for layering, and a great price for what you get.

marissarose

A wonderful time of year is when the lilac is blooming but it's a shame that they are in bloom for such a short time. They captured it perfectly in a bottle. This one is such a joy to wear it makes me look forward to the spring time. The pacifica line of perfumes is great but this one is on a whole different level. It smells expensive but this is affordable! I really hope this never gets discontinued.

Tintalle

This perfume is one of my favorites. I particularly loved lilac while growing up and I was delighted when I found this gem. This perfume would be wonderful even at a much higher price point, it's just so good. While lilac is the main element, I think another part that I enjoy is coming from the heliotrope. It really supports the lilac so beautifully and adds just a bit of creamy sweetness. The rest of the listed notes must be very well blended and simply there to showcase the lilac.

restein

One note lilac perfume. Smells like cleaning products or synthetic air freshener to me :(

Vicschmidtscents

It's a very realistic lilac! Smells literally like a freshly picked bouquet of lilacs. I love to wear this one to the office, in spring, or right out of the shower.

French Lilac, Tahitian Gardenia, Island Vanilla, and Neon Moon are the best fragrances from Pacifica in my opinion. And for under $25? You can't beat it.

funeralparty

I have a lilac bush in front of my house and I’ve never smelled anything more similar to its blooms than this fragrance. It’s almost pure lilac with the other notes as background actors. Very feminine and soft, not old-ladyish at all to me. I wore this a lot in high school, and fondly remember putting it on for my senior graduation while taking pictures in front of that lilac bush. This is the perfect scent for late spring on a rainy day. The low price is also unbelievable, considering how well this has always performed for me.

mugler defender 🤺

I'm pretty picky when it comes to floral notes, but THIS perfume is one of my all-time favorites it reminds me of lilac bushes on a spring night. Absolutely lovely.

carolinachickadee

I had such high hopes for this fragrance based on reviews, so I blind bought the rollerball. I’m sure this smells lovely on other people, but it smelled terrible on my skin, unfortunately.

When first applied, it just smelled like strong alcohol, which is to be expected. After a few minutes, the lilac started to bloom, and it was ok. But after about 30 minutes on my skin, it smelled nauseatingly like Raid insect killer, as another reviewer wrote. It lasted 8 hours even after trying to scrub it off with coffee grounds, which was impressive longevity.

I still love Pacifica and have had much better luck with their other fragrances.

vnoxnoctis

i'm not a huge fan of florals but this is really nice. i have a rollerball of it and it starts off smelling a little grandma-ish tbh, very powdery and floral, but it quickly mellows out to something that just smells clean and fresh and lightly sweet. the longevity is solid but it's a rollerball, so it's a scent that stays close to the skin. it's pretty linear, it just gets softer and a little sweeter. a very "pure" scent imo, like what i would imagine an angel might smell like

Aprettygarden2

Absolutely beautiful.
This fragrance puts a smile on my face whenever I spray it on. It smells like a fresh lilac bush with a hint of sweetness. My toddlers absolutely love this one and keep coming up for sniffs. They gave great taste.

FragsNBooze

This smells exactly like a lilac garden to me. Blooms everywhere with a bit of greenery. Absolutely stunning. Longevity is pretty good too.

prava.slava.mama

Straightforward, *almost* too heady, highly romantic classic perfume. I couldn't wear this everyday but sometimes I want to feel like a French woman from a previous century... et voila! Lasts forever. Great inexpensive buy!

RegalKitten

This is a nice fragrance I had a couple of years ago but now that I have read some reviews on Fragrantica I have to say I agree with those who say it smells like baby products. I can't undo the association in my head now because it's pretty accurate. It's powdery and feminine and I received more compliments for it than the other Pacifica fragrances I have worn (Island Vanilla, Tahitian Gardenia, Tuscan Blood Orange). It's just not me at all, but a nice fragrance that is pretty linear and has good lasting power for being a somewhat natural perfume. Didn't turn weird on clothes or skin, just faded away.

SuzScents

Just retrieved my sample from the mailbox on a warm, sunny summer's day and immediately ripped it open and sprayed!

First impression: Baby wipes?

Hmm. I'm gonna blame this first impression on long travels through high temps. I'll let this one sit and settle for a while before I give it another go. I love soft, powdery scents for summer, but I draw the line at smelling like baby cleansing products.

Angelicax1

This smells like you just took a shower using an expensive soap and are now sitting out in your garden on a dewy spring morning. It smells pretty but I don’t think it suits me. It would smell really nice on another girl.

averyhilburn

Just finished this bottle after having it for years and it smelled good till the end, no turning of color or scent. Such a lovely spring scent. True lilac and slightly green, i also bought the rose at the same time but finished that one first definitely gonna pick up a new one they are such good quality fragrances. Perfect floral for spring 🌸🌷🌼 Only thing i don’t like about this brand is that they don’t make tops for their fragrances, i find that so weird!

Florabeth

I wish I could still find this in the UK. It's a powerhouse lilac perfume. So so stunning. Heady, gauzy, purple. Spectacular. How I miss it so

Konga5000

Never in the history of Target has anything so nice and expensive smelling come off their shelves ! This is stunning.
Gets my HIGHEST rating: PNDT (Please Never Discontinue This !)

violet violin

I had forgotten I once owned this scent , just remembered when adding another review for another Pacifica scent. It all came flooding painfully back.
I love lilacs, my absolute favorite flower. I always beg friends and family for clippings from their bushes to put in my house. I only have room to grow one lilac bush myself, it’s a dwarf lilac and it has smaller blossoms and blooms slightly later than regular lilacs (which I love because I can enjoy an extended albeit short blooming season.). It grows right outside my living room window and when the windows are open while it is blooming it is heavenly scented in my home.

So I sampled this scent when stumbling upon it one day at an Ulta and I couldn’t purchase it fast enough.
I started to wear this daily… but after a few days, something started to feel off. I began to see this wasn’t a true lilac scent, and indeed it is not a soliflore, my first impression of it was however. I started to really smell the hyacinth and magnolia. And began to notice this gets very sweet on my skin as the day goes on. Almost sickly sweet. But not in a sugary way, in a way that could not put into words.
Then one day, I had to go to a wake. I had not been to one in a long time and you sorta put the unpleasantness of it out of your mind. Part of the unpleasantness of a wake in addition to the sadness is the creepy sickly sweet smell of the funeral home. It is the smell of the flowers combined with scented makeups and chemicals used on the deceased. Then it came to me. My Pacifica French Lilac smelled just like this smell.
I tossed it out the next day.
I’m sorry to say this, because I do truly love lilacs still but the combo of flowers in this scent on my skin was sickening and creepy.
But it could just be on my skin. Others obviously don’t get this but beware and sample for a few days I’d say before purchasing.

corvidia

Smells expensive, timeless, ethereal. Like being kissed by the nymph of springtime.

Again, always surprised to see that some have called it things like "latexy" and "plastic" - must be a poor body chemistry reaction. No, no...This is the fragrance of Parisian street markets at the turn to the 20th century, this is the scent of beautiful women in seas of chiffon under absurd mercury hats, arsenic pale faces, staring at stuffed zebras hauled back from a southern continent. I imagine Anais Niin writing smutty stories in thigh-high silk stockings, with her witty ensemble of bourgeois admirers.

I'd never have guessed at the price, as - aside from the vintage ephemera of scent - the bottle also has a retro 1970s Goldie Hawn at the beach appeal, and not that tacky jeweltone color block modern shopping center ascetic. The only hint of suburban desperation is in the name "Pacifica", which I didn't previously know, except as a place outside of San Francisco, where the lifted trucks come from.

swedishmilk15

Not a soliflore but smells like one. Longevity is not great but for the price, a winner. I love lilac and want this for when I need to smell it! I did some research before buying, assuming all lilac scents would have poor sillage and longevity and didn't want to waste my money. This was the only one I bought and I'm happy with it! It's also great for layering, smells wonderful combined with Arpege.

karlovonamesti

Not to be mistaken for a soliflore, this fragrance blends hyacinth, magnolia, heliotrope, and a couple of really good peach notes to recreate the smell of springtime lilac flower. I get the other floral notes in the top accord, coupled with a juicy nectarine note. Within thirty minutes this green wreath coalesces into the star note, which is delicate, rich, and warmed by a subtle touch of unsweetened vanilla. Eventually this lilac accord dries down across the span of five to six hours into a fresh, clean, crisp peach note. Compare it to Highland of Rochester if you must, but for the money this is the best lilac fragrance you'll ever find.

okamikiera

This lilac is sweetened and stylized, but it’s blended well and comes across convincingly as a fresh floral. A quite nice drugstore offering. If you want something a little higher quality I’d recommend the Tocca or Chloe lines, or maybe Nest Wisteria Blue.

Megajones

I got this perfume as a freshman in college. This was long before I knew anything about perfume and I think it served its purpose at the time. It's a very straightforward scent and smells exactly like lilac to me. When it comes to my personal preferences today I find it somewhat boring, especially when compared to other fragrances. It doesn't last very long at, an hour or two at best. You might as well just pick a lilac and carry it with you all day.

Dramaloladiva

A very cheap dupe for En Passant by Frederic Malle. That’s not to say it is bad at all. I like it but if I had to choose between both, I’d go for quality and En Passant, though expensive as it is, is absolutely mesmerizing in terms of quality, longevity and overall performance. No question about that.
French Lilac has a certain plastic-y vibe about it that bothers me a little but other than that, it is a pretty, floral and springtime perfume perfect for every day wear. It is inexpensive and appealing.
I own both En Passant and French Lilac because I am a lilac fanatic. I also own Lilac Path by Aerin and I will always be on the lookout for lilac perfumes out there. Lilac is a difficult note to replicate so to me, it’s a quest for the Holy Grail kind of search...

Kittykittybangbang

I’m sorry, but this is absolutely disgusting - this reminds me exactly of carpet freshener that you sprinkle on. It’s a toxic combination of the most synthetic lilac you can think of, mixed with cutting baking soda. It is also reminiscent of strongly scented cat litter. This would be best use as a noxious bathroom freshener.

stephdray

This is beautiful--not very complicated, but a little more abstract than Rochester Highland Lilac. I want to get the lotion and a full sized bottle. But it's also nuclear strength on clothes, and will get cloying after a while, so use with caution!

Beanie1991

I like to layer this with Chloe Roses de Chloe and when I do I feel like a beautiful, girly, ballerina dancing through a garden and smelling all of the flowers along the way. Sounds super cheesy but it's true.🤗😂

Mona708

My coworker let me try a little of this today and I was really impressed by how much it smells like real lilacs. I wouldn’t expect that from a scent you can buy from Target or Whole Foods, but here we are. This is another great choice for layering; it works pretty well with citrusy scents for an extra kick.

Chatnoir

Lilacs are one of my all time favorite flowers, and this soliflore delivers a very true lilac experience. Never overwhelming, this clean, slightly green interpretation of the heady spring blossom also has a nice warmth on drydown. I literally smile every time I get a whiff of this as I wear it, which means it is a part of my weekly rotation of daytime scents. I enjoy Pacifica scents in general, and I believe this may be my favorite of the bunch.

nyuholka

I was gifted this perfume; I don't normally go for floral single notes myself, but I was intrigued by the premise of lilacs. There's something really romantic about a single-note lilac; it's both sophisticated and austere, and I do find that it really does smell like a lilac bouquet, even including the little bit of greenness from the foliage. However, when I wear this perfume on my skin as opposed to just spraying it in the air, I get the strangest latex undertone that comes through once the scent settles in. I'm not sure if it's just my skin chemistry reacting to the lilac or what, but it's not very pleasant. The lilac's intensity is also not ideal for my headache-prone head, so I have to be extremely sparing with this perfume as it's very intensely floral and exactly what it reads on the tin. However, it makes a very romantic room spray and lets me enjoy the lilac fantasy without having to actually wear it and experience the strange latex drydown, so I do enjoy that!

s801959

Awful.... I was able to be refunded.

ambergeese

This is absolutely delicious. It's sugary like white chocolate, or vanilla ice cream: not the crystallized sugar of hard candy, but something incredibly soft and pure. I love the heliotrope heart, which (maybe along with the nectarine?) creates an absolutely perfect almost-honey accord. The florals here feel fresh and natural. The sillage is good, the longevity is great, and the scent is divine the whole way through its delicious evolution. This is a favorite, and the price point is incredible. If you like florals or sweet honey notes, give this one a try.

Nelly Pirelli

Really simple but beautiful feminine scent. It reminds me of the bouquet of lilacs my Mom used to keep in the house. Like most Pacifica perfumes this has moderate longevity and sillage, therefore it won't bother perfume sensitive people at the office.

Rosemary14

I’ve been toying with the idea of buying En Passant for about a month. I’ve been wanting a lilac scent in my collection. I have and love Gucci Guilty, but it’s not a “true” lilac because of the other notes. I’m comparing my sample of En Passant on one arm and French Lilac on the other. The opening of EP is more smooth, a bit deeper with the dry wheat note which adds an earthy dry quality that pairs incredibly well. FL has more florals with a tiny pinch of lemony magnolia and zingy nectarine. But on the dry down on MY skin the lilac shines through so much in both fragrances that make them incredibly similar. Actually the lilac in FL is a little stronger, but I have to tell you for the price point you can’t beat French Lilac. I have to say I’m REALLY impressed with this it’s powdery, pretty princess, purple clouds, feminine lilac. Longevity is incredible I’m super happy I could find this for $21 and I was considering spending over $200. EP is a little more watery and a little more smooth but this is my jam.

In my opinion this smells nothing like Pur Desir de Lilas Yves Rocher which I’ve owned and sold. It has a lot of almond in it which I did not paired well with the other notes. Or maybe it was simply the quality, but it is much more sweet and warm than FL. FL is far more fresh, slightly more citrus (not much but a pinch) only in the opening and in the dry down smells like real lilac.

Ali Langer

When I was little, my family had a ton of lilac in the backyard, and I will never forget that perfect smell. The fresh scent of spring, of pure happiness. I try to remember it in as many ways as I can—with lilac scented candles, soaps, by walking outside in the spring, etc. but I decided recently those things simply weren’t enough.

I knew I needed a perfume that smelled of those lilacs in my old backyard, something I could spray on and experience frequently throughout the day, and honestly, I believe this fragrance is the closest thing to true lilac that I’m ever going to get. That’s all I smell here—fresh, green, gorgeous lilac. So beautiful and uplifting; I don’t ever want to be without this again.

oubliette

Smells just like the lilacs I have flowering in my backyard in spring! Unfortunately it is not available where I live - Demeter Lilac is a good replacement.

vetiverberry

This is amazing and I hope it never gets discontinued. It has super good longevity—not just for Pacifica, but for perfume in general. It also layers super well and enhances other fragrances that might be too sweet or too boring.

It’s a true purple flower smell, very natural to my nose and kind of indolic/waxy, but in an addictive way, rich and waxy, almost no sweetness. I can’t pick out nectarine or peach, but I think it’s just well-blended.

If you like lilacs, this is totally worth it. Hands down the best fragrance I’ve tried from Pacifica!

kyl77

I love this on its own or layered over Pacifica's Island Vanilla. I got the idea from another poster (Libra73) who does this to create a dupe for Stila's discontinued Creme Bouquet. It's incredible. You get this soft powdery but creamy floral from the combination of lilac and vanilla that is warm and sweet, but fresh at the same time. Simply amazing!

Gobtholemew

Lilac is my favorite scent, and this is a real true lilac. I was SOOO excited to try this. But after testing it my entire family (including myself) got awful headaches. If I could find a way to dilute this without sacrificing staying power it would be perfect.

LSAUG

I wanted to like this one since Lilac is my favorite flower. I have several lilac bushes in my yard which bring me such joy every spring, that joy is fleeting because they never last long. How I have searched for years for a lilac scent that would smell good on my skin. This one was just like all the rest, it did not go w/ my body chemistry. I only bought the solid fragrance because I wanted to try before I bought a bottle. At least this brand is inexpensive. I have finally found that lilac scent that I crave that works for me, yet it has no lilac in it at all. It is Love in a Mist by Providence Perfume co.

Greensprite

Totally agree with review below. This is the ultimate, and beautiful soliflore lilac smell, with good projection and fair longevity.

Konga5000

Classic Lilac scent: The One ! I hope this never gets discontinued ! Lasts longer than MOST Pacificas. This fragrance could have been made in 1972, 1982 or 2002--it's timeless.

HouseOfMirth

A deep lilac, very realistic to my nose. It has a bit of the heavy depth that comes out of lilacs in the heat, but the projection is quite close so I don't find I'm overpowering to other people. Smells wonderful on my husband as well.

ecofreak2001

This one is such a pretty scent. It reminds me of a perfume from my childhood: innocent, doll-like. Lilac's heaven!

colorfulmess

Lasts forever on me and blooms wonderfully as it heats up on the skin. It's a bit of a nose-burner at first but just give it a few minutes to settle down. It's lilac all the way. I think I'm going to buy a second bottle.

DahliaFragrance

Just stunning. This perfume is simply gorgeous. I can’t believe it’s all natural and cheaper than high end brands. It’s a very obvious white and purple floral rounded out to youthfulness with the juicy nectarine. Although the nectarine or any citrus is not noticeable at all, it is totally blended into the perfume and merely uplifting the flowers. A very lush, cold and dewy scent of early morning air. The dry down becomes gently soapy and clean with the jasmine but not heady, bitter or green. The rollerball I got did eventually turn to a pure alcohol scent after I used 3/4 of it, so I’m hoping to get the perfume spray or body mist this time to avoid that. The body lotion has much less depth, it’s just a straight up soapy white floral but still good and clean smelling nonetheless.

This little perfume is a powerhouse, a gorgeous fragrance that belies its modest bottle and affordable price. Don't let its inexpensiveness fool you - this fragrance is far from cheap. It's a lilac lover's dream. If you love lilac as much as I do, I'm sure you've tried Aerin's Lilac Path. Pacifica's creation is just as beautiful, but far stronger in terms of longevity and projection. It is not a soft whisper of a scent - it's more like walking through a bunch of lilac bushes bursting with blossoms as an early summer breeze fills your nose with its intoxicating, heavy fragrance. This perfume is the real deal! It's hard to detect the other notes at first because the lilac is so strong, but I do notice ylang ylang and hyacinth in particular. The other notes don't really come through for me.

All in all, I would recommend Pacifica French Lilac - however, you really have to like lilacs to enjoy this scent. I personally love being doused in what seems like pure lilac nectar, but if you're not 100% sold on the smell, this will definitely come across as an overbearing, heavy floral. I would use it very sparingly in an office environment or somewhere where you want just a subtle hint of a fragrance. If I spray it once in the air and walk through the mist, I find that it gives a nice light scent compared to spraying it directly on myself.

VelvetTrance

So beautiful!! This is true lilac. Like face in a lilac bush lilac. And it's STRONG. Two sprays and you can close your eyes and feel like you're under a lush lilac arbor. This has instantly become one of my treasures. I will never not have this in my collection. 10/10.

Nataliemarie

This is Baby Magic Baby Lotion & Lilacs. Just like that.

Blingmad

I have a large lilac tree in my garden and for two weeks in the spring it is intoxicating,so I looked to find a lilac perfume and found this one ,it smells amazing just like my tree I also have the body lotion and soap.my friend asked about my perfume and said I smelt like a bouquet of flowers, which cant be bad ..

sasandfat

I love lilac but sadly this one on me smells like an air freshener.

Unfurling Blossoms

Photorealistic lilac - the holy grail of lilacs! Much more ALIVE and pungent than Aerin's Lilac Path... much more spriteliness, at the top, and complexity and depth to the center of the fragrance, to ground it, like a three dimensional soliflore. My greatest compliment to a floral fragrance is that you can sense the TRUE TO LIFE botanical nature of it and this is as real as it gets! A million thumbs up!

kyl77

This perfume is really beautiful. Although I know there are other notes in it, I really only pick up lilac. But it's a really realistic lilac. You feel like you are pressing you nose into a lilac bush in your backyard. For a totally natural perfume, it lasts a long time too - eight hours. I love that French Lilac is 100% vegan and cruelty free. When I wear this I feel very beautiful and feminine. It has moderate sillage. So, you won't bowl people over, but that's what I prefer. It's also very affordable and easily available. Great find, and I hope to try other fragrances form Pacifica soon.

Pari88

A perfect linear lilac fragrance that has stunning sillage and lasting power. For the price point this should never be ignored. I keep it in my purse for work days or after the gym (pre quarantine) as it has a clean almost soapy undertone. It is very pleasant and everyone who smells it seems to enjoy it. Perfect for spring And can be layered with other purple or green and white floral fragrances for some oomph. .

CherriedEmpress

French Lilac is a very heady, soapy lilac. I have mixed feelings on this one. When I first smelled it, it did not smell like a natural lilac. It was very, very soapy, like the smell of bar soap intensified times a hundred. My bottle is an older one without the "1 fl oz / 29 ml" stamped on the base. The juice is an amber color, which is how I bought it.

After a few wearings, it has begun to grow on me. It is actually sort of addictive. Yes, it does smell like a lilac, but it does not have that blooming, elusive freshness that real lilacs have. It is more like a bathroom freshener or a nice soap than a real flower. It actually smells exactly like a lilac home fragrance oil I had many years ago.

I plan to use this over a vanilla lotion, or maybe layer with a vanilla scent.

I went to Target yesterday to test a new bottle. The new bottle in the store had better longevity, but the scent is almost identical. My significant other was with me, and upon catching a whiff, he instantly reeled back. This scent is very overwhelming in the beginning, but it settles nicely. It lasts for days on clothing.

I own Island Vanilla and really like it. It works better with my chemistry than French Lilac.

Update: I half-filled a small 2 ounce plastic spray bottle with water and sprayed maybe 25 sprays of French Lilac into the water. Essentially I just made a body mist. It is SO MUCH BETTER. I get a softer, prettier lilac that doesnt smell like bar soap. If this perfume is too intense on it's own, I recommend trying something like this method! The experience is so different! Much closer to "in bloom" than spraying direct from the perfume bottle. Very pretty.

L.A.B33

This is stunning perfume, especially for the price point. I almost get a vanilla in it on the dry down. I am so glad I got it!

Rabbette

This one is a strong solid lilac. It reminds me of spring mornings on the grandmother's porch getting ready to go to church. There's a note in it,( which I do not yet know) that can go powdery on me on some days. I absolutely despise powdery scents, but I'm keeping this because the lilac is SO GOOD. I spray it on my clothes rather than my skin to avoid the powder note. Love this one.

Atomikbomb_

I'm slightly easier on less expensive perfumes, I totally admit. But I agree with the poster below, if this were more expensive or a gimmicky niche, people would stampede to get their hands on this beauty.

This is absolutely, insanely good for the price. I almost can't comprehend it.

This is about 95% accurately lilac. I find it completely delightful and wonderfully simple. I adore that perfumery and the art of fragrance can be as simple as this (or as complex as many masterpieces out there).

It's roughly 90% lilac, but the power of suggestion is strong, and nectarine is noticable once I read the notes. It actually is there, just not strongly and it doesn't compete with lilac. I think there could be trace amounts other florals, so basically with heliotrope I said "noticeable" (as in, 'sure, why not?').

French Lilac is to real lilac, as Tea Rose is to real rose. Affordable, slightly nuclear (this less so than TR, but similar), and almost a one-note-wonder.

Bravo Pacifica, you did well! 👏

Allison444

This is a delicious power house lilac, lush and addictive. If this affordable gem were packaged in a fancy bottle for 4x the price buyers would be flocking in droves. It’s just one of those amazing perfumes that draws you back to where you spritzed it over and over to breathe it’s intoxicating scent in —a rare beauty of a fragrance.

floydwellian

I like the smell of this though it makes me sneeze some days. Other days it smells too sweet so I'll layer it with Jovan musk oil to knock it down a few notches.

I appreciate that it's vegan and natural. I will probably test the other Pacifica offerings in the future.

EDIT: my nose has adjusted to French Lilac and it really smells like lilac. Strong for a natural scent. Great for spring. Recommended.

wannam

This is the first perfume I bought after a long while of not wearing any at all (not a priority for me, and didn't have the $$ to spend). When I was growing up we had giant lilac bushes in my backyard, and this reminds me of how wonderful they smelled when in bloom!

cocofluff

- Beautiful scent! French Lilac is a lilac soliflore that's fairly realistic. I the mist and I spray myself after showers before bedtime to have a little cloud of lilac and almondy heliotrope for hours. I notice a creamy scent in the mix that smells like vanilla & cinnamon to me! I love it! Highly recommended for lilac lovers. Better than Idylle Love Blossom imo.

Tigi

This fragrance is a lilac-lover's Holy Grail. I have two lilac bushes on the side of our little house and this smells almost 100% identical to those in the Springtime when they're in full bloom.
Fragrance rating for me is a ten of ten. Easily.
Value? Spot on, you get a lot of bang-for-your-buck here.
I'll have to come back and testify to the longevity but the sillage can be enormous with this one; I'm heavy-handed and am starting to feel that I may have overdone it here with five sprays; I'd even say this is nearly as strong as a Montale!
I get very little in the way of the fruit notes with this one, feeling that they are in a supporting role, adding a subtle juiciness to the overall composition. But make no mistake, this fragrance is ALL about the beautiful LILAC!!!

ETA: Okay I think I became acclimated to it by two hours in and went in with a reapplication of the same amount, so it's either fading a wee bit quicker than I'd like it to or I'm liable to hurt people in my general vicinity today, unintentionally of course. We'll see and I'll let you know which it is.

ETA II, same day: I believe that this one lasts for about 3-4 hours, opening with a huge, beautiful blast and leaving at the end with the breath of a whisper. I have no qualms with reapplication, though; the experience is something I look forward to repeating.

moscatomami

This is a perfume that has a lot of emotional significance to me, so I'm biased. Growing up as a kid, there was lilac that bloomed on the side of my house and my school, so it was always an important moment in spring when they bloomed. I initially bought this as a rollerball, and then bought the 1oz spray because I was frustrated with the silage (Only an hour!). To my disappointment, the spray didn't stick to my clothes any better. Maybe it's for the best, because even though the lilac smell is significant to me I can respect how it is obnoxious or cloying for others. Generally it is pretty unwearable, and I feel that I can only get away with it during a few days during high spring. I get basically no notes besides the lilac. Just going to wear it around the house for my own enjoyment lol.

perfumeninja

Tested this today and wow it's beautiful! It smells exactly like the Bath and Body Works Night Blooming Jasmine that I used to wear all the time. I even still have some of that left in the old bottle.

This Pacifica French Lilac is indeed very nostalgic and also very wearable and pretty to wear today!

lollipopsneeze

I'm so in love with this lilac perfume. It's very unique and nostalgic for me. I have the perfume and lotion ( worth the price for sure). I've also received so many compliments on this scent, my son's female physician even complimented me on it, she said I smelled so clean and fresh. Its very strong and long lasting though, so you could just use the lotion and the scent will stay with you for hours.

dvlcis

It's nice at first, but after 20 minutes or so, the hyacinth stomps the lilac. Makes me wanna reach for air.
Lilac is not a very apologetic note as it is, but with all that hyacinth thrown in... it should be put in a dior Poison bottle, so it would be clear that it's a massive powerhouse.

A. Rose123

This perfect lilac has haunted my mind for years. It was maybe 15-20 years ago when I was first acquainted with this scent in soap form, probably when the company was in its infancy. And it was a great soap, too: Thick, creamy, with dried floral pieces (vanilla bean pieces?) in it. I was disappointed when Pacifca moved away from bar soaps for good.

Lilac was my late grandfather's favorite flower. It's the flower with the most sensory-memory-jogging, emotional impact in my distant, childhood memories at my other grandparents' house, where they have a yard full of giant lilac bushes.

I was an extra girly child and the world of lilacs was MY world; flamboyantly frilly, trellises and rose gardens, tea sets and princess dresses. Pacifica's "French Lilac" encapsulates all of it, it feels like my secret, inner world of dewy, nighttime gardens and I'm in Anne of Green Gables' perfect, poufed-sleeves dress, twirling in the moonlight. Wearing "French Lilac" feels like my subconscious mind reminding me of who I truly am, no matter what kind of tough front I put on to cover my ultra-mushy, lace trimmed, basket-full-of-lilacs core.

Pacifica's "French Lilac" is fresh, creamy, crisp, cool-vegetal-fatty, waxy, hint of powder, there's a hint of high pitched sweetness but it's smoothed by all that flower cream. A teeny hint of green swirls in the background but this is mostly all flower; close your eyes and your nose is buried in a big, fresh clump of little, lilac stars.

I don't know why I keep searching when this is what my heart wants (and it's a "Pacifica" brand, clean blend to wear, to boot.) This is it. You don't need another lilac. This is as perfect a lilac as it gets.

Other lilac blends might feel more sophisticated and they have their own charm but this is lilac at its rawest and truest. It certainly feels true to me.

muncierobson

Drawn to Pacifica after hearing they are ‘cruelty free’ and suitable for vegans. Very affordable too!

Agree with other reviewers - an authentic and natural smelling lilac - takes me back to sunny gardens from my childhood. It’s sweet and green, a light touch of powder. I can understand how some may be reminded of fresh laundry, not a bad thing in my eyes (and nose).

Moderate sillage and longevity, don’t mind reapplying at this price!

Rollerball cute but didn’t apply enough so decanted into an atomiser for a fine mist, lovely!

Frogopolis

Having grown up with lilac bushes surrounding my house, I can attest that this stuff is FANTASTIC! It captures everything about the lilac, including the green stem and the sweet nectar inside. It is just a pure, sweet, purpley, powdery, clean cloud of lilac essence. When I was growing up in the 1980s, Alyssa Ashley came out with a collection of splash colognes called “French Garden Flowers” and I LOVED the lilac one because it smelled like those bushes in summer. Well— Pacifica does it even better. And this stuff lasts and lasts with just a few sprays. It’s such a comforting and delightful scent.

Rangel7

Wandering around Target, killing time for an eye appointment, I stumbled across the Pacifica display. At first I wasn't going to test any of the fragrances because I had a large Starbucks cup in my hand and I usually don't like trying perfumes when I'm having coffee, but the French Lilac caught my eye and I just had to smell it.
It was love at first sniff! This is authentic, smooth lilac, perfectly complemented with heliotrope and magnolia. Simply gorgeous!
I bought this little beauty and the vanilla one, both my husband's favorites.

Konga5000

I have an older bottle and my goodness. . . . . . It lasted for HOURS and I can smell it on my shirt the next day!! Find bottles where the boxes do NOT mention "batch" on the front !

monii8800

I was looking to buy this fragrance for years but I couldn't find it anywhere in my country. I finally find it and bought it yesterday and I have to say I'm a little disappointed. While it definitely smells like lilac it also kind of smells like those bathroom air fresheners which also my friend confirmed. It's such a shame since I love lilac scent but I'll have to keep looking for some other fragrance.

n_lamartina

Just received Pacifica's French Lilac. I had tried it many times when walking through a local health store and was intrigued by it.

This perfume makes me smile. Probably because it takes me back to the house I grew up in, and a patch of Lilacs grew near Hyacinths in the backyard. Not far away were a patch of Lily of the Valley. I can still remember the crisp, fresh breeze on early spring mornings when I would catch the sweet, slightly sharply green smell. Ahh, uplifting. Dewy. Sweet.

Oh my, the heliotrope and magnolia in French Lilac shine and really take this frag to the next level in being something a little more complex than a traditional lilac perfume. The lotion is soooo decadent. It makes my skin feel like I just used some very expensive product. Great ingredients.
So happy to finally have this one. So lovely.

VegasBusinessWoman

Wandering around an airport shop in Portland, Oregon waiting for my flight to board, I happened upon this fragrance and lost my mind. They were closing it out, so I bought the 3 bottles of cologne and the 2 tubes of body butter in the display. I grow lilacs in my yard, and am mad for the scent that only blooms in spring and all too briefly. This is it, the real deal and the price is right. It lasts well with a politely moderate sillage. Stirs up pleasant memories of many springs gone by. Can't recommend it enough.

shellapoo

I was shopping on Amazon for one of the other perfumes this company makes and found this by accident. I remember as a teenager than my Mom had a beautiful lilac bush that smelled nothing short of heavenly when it bloomed, so I just had tp give this one a whirl. I received it and tried it today, and it has me totally captivated! The scent is so close to what I remember my Mom's plant smelling like, and when I spray this delicious juice, I am immediately carried back in time and my mind is flooded with some sweet memories from that time in my life. On my skin, I don't consciously notice each of the notes listed, but rather just a heavy dose of the luscious violet. This was instant LOVE for me, and I intend to keep this one in my collection forevermore! I would say the sillage is low to medium and on me the longevity is around 2-3 hours, but my skin eats perfume like crazy. If you like lilac, you've got to try this one! I really think you'll be happy you did.

Mbrock

This is pretty. Its simply Lilacs but calling it simple is a good thing. Sometimes you just want something pretty & not complex. A relaxing scent. Its seems to have better lasting power than some of the other pacificas. Im wearing it today & I can still smell it pretty well after 4 hours.
Update: I could smell this the next morning. Very pleased with this scent.

Tovah

Wearing this all day today. The weather has been cold and crisp, but I smell like Spring in Upstate New York. I have never smelled a perfume that smelled so true to my memory of this exquisite flower...not sure any other perfume has been so true to my memories of any flower! I haven't smelled real lilacs in decades, but wearing this takes me back to another me in another place; like remembering a book and reading it, entering into it, again. It's so beautiful.

SaraX

What a beautiful lilac with a touch of heliotrope, that softens and refreshes the lilac in a perfect manner.

Lilac can sometimes be too sharp for me (even the real ones), but I usually love heliotrope and the blend in this one is perfect!

This is also a nice little lilac powerhouse, since both longevity and sillage are good.

I recommend that you try this out if lilac and/or heliotrope are among your favourite notes.

Konga5000

My bottle ran out a while ago and now that they are in Targets everywhere- I treated my self to a new bottle.
Again, a beautiful lilac that echoes classic old school lilac fragrances from the 1960s and Avon! This and Tahitian Gardenia are the LONGEST lasting Pacificas -- so if you are new to them- start here.

Great value, natural smelling and the only Lilac you'll ever need.

HennaQueen

Even though it is a crisp fall day, perfect for a spicy oriental fragrance (like Opium or Jungle Elephant), I am craving a rich soliflore and reached for my Pacifica French Lilac. I have the soap, lotion, solid perfume and spray perfume (I love this stuff as you can see!) and I am in heaven after a shower and layers of lilac. It's a very realistic lilac and quite affordable.

Dhee13

Well, you get what you paid for. Lilac! Beautiful, long lasting, gorgeous just very gorgeous lilac. I have more than 10 of Pacifica perfumes, this is one of the most longest lasting ones. It is so beautiful, dense and I love spraying at least once near my cleavage so I could feel like I am swimming in it while doing whatever it is I am doing.

MakeupNeverSleeps

I wore a lilac deodorant in middle school that I was completely obsessed with. I think it was Lady Speedstick. Along with the deodorant, we had lilacs at my house. The deodorant was surprisingly close to the smell of the actual flowers. Cut to all these years later, and I have to say ...this scent is super realistic, just as everyone said. I have a sample of Aerin's Lilac Path and I find it to have an almost aldehydic "bug spray" sharp edge on lilac, making it a lot less literal than Pacifica's. I doubt I'm going to wear this perfume, but I love having the bottle just to sniff and remember who I was, so long ago.

Alces Alces

Really strong lilac, that's it. I don't get anything else. French Lilac lasts longer than most Pacifica scents.

Super nice if you are in the lilac mood or if you want to accentuate the lilac in something else you are wearing with lilac.

This is cloying in extreme heat, but wonderful in early spring when there is still a chill in the air.

gtabasso

An okay lilac that is strong and fresh but with a hint of synthetic/chemical vibe, other florals and some vanilla in the background. Doesn't come close to a lilac like Highland Lilac, but in the final drydown, it's a nice lilac with some musk.

SuzanneS

A super buy for lilac floral fans. Realistic lilacs that last going on 5hrs strong.. Spring in a bottle..

Fonna2

Went to a well known organic food store, and just sniffed the atomizer. Didn't even know the name of it or anything.
For some reason, I thought that it must be weak because it smelled so good, and it was a light color,... that I sprayed it twice in my hair once on my neck and once on my wrist.......Do NOT do that with this perfume!!
Oh yes I smelled great. Even walking through the parking lot with a mild wind sent this fragrance reeling.
Then I entered my car. I had to open the windows.
I had no idea what I just sprayed on.....was it meant to be a perfume?
Then when it settled, I smelled beautiful, fresh lilac. A beautiful, purple, moist, true, lilac.
I love this stuff....mmmm hmmmmm......
Gotsta get it in my collection. It lasts 4+ hours, sillage is enormous.

HOUSTONHOUSTON

The most REALISTIC lilac on the market. Period. Love it.

Scentofamemory

Such a wonderful representation! I find it to be moderately lasting (a few hours) before I reapply. Fresh and clean....the epitome of spring! I put it on when I get out of the shower while my skin is still damp and that seems to be the way it lasts the longest. I have gotten quite a few compliments on it. Love, love, love it!

stacia79

I like this one, it was my introduction to the Pacifica line, of which I am now a fan.
As has been stated countless times already, this is a VERY REALISTIC lilac. It's like sticking your face into a bush of white lilacs in early May. When first sprayed, it's a bit heavy but give it an hour or two and it dries into something light and breezy. While it's very much lilac-centered, I detect other florals like heliotrope and magnolia giving it even more green creaminess. And even though it's listed nowhere in the notes, I keep feeling a hint of patchouli leaves underneath it all. I'll have to try this layered with vintage White Shoulders and see how they play together.

bradleafletcher

this scent is innocent and refreshing and very realistic, like a walk in a georgian garden with your beau (and an old aunt as chaperone, of course) but unfortunately on my skin it disappears within ten minutes. perfume wears off unusually quickly for me in general, but this one had the shortest wear time of any i've tried, so it's something to keep in mind if you're like me. however my friend i passed it on to loves it!

Self-Propelling Fantasy

Bought this on impulse yesterday at Whole Foods. Really pretty scent! Smells like fresh cut lilacs and hyacinths.
I've had it on for about 3 hours and it's still going strong, but not TOO strong. It's not an overpowering fragrance. Great for work, weekend errands, or when caring for children or pets. Just the perfect thing to wear with a sun dress and a cute pair of Keds!
The price is very budget-friendly ($ 13 or so for the rollerball), and would be a totally safe and pleasing blind buy for anyone who enjoys the smell of lilacs (and who doesn't?!)
My only complaint is the rollerball, which does not roll freely and it's very hard to roll the perfume on. I prised out the rollerball with a butter knife to solve the problem, so I will just dab this on.
I'm very happy to welcome this little beauty into my collection!

Neckromancer

This is the strongest of the Pacifica scents I've smelled, and also the most realistic. I used to have a beautiful lilac bush in my yard, and this smells just like it, green leaves and all. It dries down to a sweet and powdery nondescript floral, The realistic lilac scent only lasts for around 3 hours.

PinkRainbow

This scent spells youth in big letters. Sweet, young, simple, and delicate. Pure lilac, soft and true. Love this.

Mellinail

Quite a realistic lilac scent, in my opinion. I wore this the other week, got on a bus to go home, and a woman carrying a bunch of lilacs sat behind me. I had a very hard time telling apart the Pacifica from the real thing. This is the fourth time I have bought this scent, and it will be repurchased again and again.

Lilac&gooseberries

I desperately wanted to love this because I was hoping for a less expensive alternative to Aerin Lilac Path, but unfortunately this perfume smells strongly of turpentine.

Sweet Beans

I purchased this after years of loving the beautiful, but always sadly short lived scent of lilacs in my grandmother's yard and I do not regret it!

This is probably about as close to the real thing as you can get without rolling around in an actual pile of lilacs. No frills, just lilac, and that's exactly what I wanted.

valeria_ardiyants

I have an actual white lilac bush outside my window. The breeze brings in the exact smell of this perfume. I have the solid perfume as well as the spray. The solid doesn't last as long but it smells a bit softer on the skin. I can sense a bit of magnolia and hyacinth in there but it is primarily lilac scented. I love this fragrance for daytime. It's VERY similar to Aerin Lilac Path but significantly less expensive. I usually buy mine from Healthy Planet in Toronto as I haven't seen it anywhere else.

egyptian_beauty99

This is why I'm leery of listening to reviews. After all the fuss I decided to give it a try. I honestly didn't get anything but "Raid", light bug spray scent. I dont know if that is a "lilac"thing or just this brand. I dont get the hype.

Kittycat63

I just started using my rollerball French Lilac perfume after not wearing it for a few months and I'm still blown away by how lovely it is and how literally and naturally it does smell of fresh, intoxicating lilac flowers.

It's May and here in England the weather has been mild and very humid the past few days. My neighbor has a white lilac bush in her (very ornate!) back garden and the lilac flowers hang over my side of the fence so each morning one of the first things I've been doing is to go outside into the back garden to have a sniff, and inhale deeply, the gorgeous and intoxicating smell of those lilac flowers. The beautiful scent invigorates me and wakes me up . . I think the smell of lilac to me is a bit akin to the effect catnip has on a kittycat! I was a bit cheeky and 'sneaked' one of the flower clusters off the bush a couple of days ago and I have it in a little water glass on my bedroom windowsill. The beautiful scent lingers in the air and when I used my French Lilac perfume yesterday I decided to compare the smell of that with the smell of the white lilacs. The French Lilac smells almost EXACTLY like the white lilac flowers, with the addition of a smidgeon of vanilla but only a little.

French Lilac is the closest to real, fresh lilac flower perfume that I've ever smelled (and had the pleasure of owning!) and am ever likely to find. I have it in both a rollerball and solid perfume (and I love the solid perfume tin - it's so pretty, although not hugely easy to prise open!). I'm so happy I discovered it on here and even though it's not readily available from retail outlets here in the UK I can get it quite easily now via Amazon. Hooray!

kburnett3

Just tried this today, surprised by how nice it smells. In the beginning, I got a hint of "old lady", which turned into a nice comforting, true lilac. I ended up picking up some for when I just want to be comforted. Lasted nicely as well, about 4 hours until I needed to reapply, which, for something so reasonably priced and cruelty free- is amazing!

FayeLB

I was browsing in a health food store when I came across this. Having tried other fragrances by Pacifica, I thought I'd give it a whirl, since I tend to adore their line.

I couldn't believe how true this scent was to the lilac bushes outside my home. Not at all old lady-ish. Very pure, young, fresh, a little green. Nostalgic. My daughter loves this as well and tells me that I smell beautiful.

A spring scent of course, but I wear anytime of the year. Lilacs are so short lived, I'm glad I can enjoy when winter seems never ending. I spray this on and it always feels like spring is right around the corner.

Konga5000

I have a 2 year old bottle and believe me--this one gets STRONGER as time goes on!
I sprayed this on a work after not using it for a long time and was shocked that it stayed with me for HOURS and HOURS !
I suggest finding an older bottle on eBay or Amazon.

Konga5000

Addendum: Anyone who is OLD ENOUGH to remember AVON products from the 1960s and 1970s: THIS will remind you of Avon Lilac products. Also if anyone remembers Mattel Liddle Kiddles - there was a Lilac Kiddle that had that same smell.

LaurenBacall

This was the first Pacifica perfume I tried, in the form of a candle. So, I prefer the solid to the spray. Really like it; calms and relaxes every time.

Titus Tetrarcus

The best lilac perfume on the market! THE MOST REALISTIC LILAC SCENT! It's not sweet or something if you have an authentic one! I've just bought it for my sister on official web-site(pacificabeauty.com) with coupons and there was a huge discount.

It's very long lasting (after 2 spray about 7-8 hours minimum) and has good sillage also!

Calvini

It smells more like a room spray (Bath & Body Works' Fresh Cut Lilacs) than a perfume.

SparrowLight1

This fragrance is a thick, sweet, purely floral lilac that is at once innocent and somehow chic as well, like a straight up shot of femininity without added coyness or fluff. Unfortunately, the scent of lilac has been forever connected to nausea in my brain because I bought and doused myself in French Lilac just as morning sickness hit me during my first pregnancy. That fact alone, not a fault with the perfume, forced me to give this lovely soliflore away.

Timeisart

Damn, I love this scent. It reminds me of walking around in my mother's garden on a warm summer evening. The smell is so divine I take the bottle off my vanity just to get a whiff even if I'm not planning to wear it.

seaside

I'm really not that familiar with the scent of lilacs, but I bought based on the good reviews (I do love florals).

I have tried wearing this several times now, and I just don't think it's for me. I find it very strong and sort of sickly sweet or something.

For reference, I do like other fragrances that contain lilac, so I won't fault the flower. :-)

Suzybee

I now have the 1 oz. perfume along with the bath gel and it's sooo pretty. This Lilac is so true to the flower!!! If you like Lilacs, look no further. Very happy and pleased to wear this alone or layered, either way, Imma smell good!!

The best part, I didn't have to spend $110 for a 1.7 oz of Aerin's Lilac Path. Yay!!

CopperBlue

I am reviewing the solid form of this fragrance - the scent is so long lasting, it is still there 9 hours later. This to me is a realistic lilac fragrance, a soliflore. Smooth and not sharp. If you like the scent of real lilacs, this is for you. The tin is inexpensive and the packaging is cute - the value is definitely there for the money.

Konga5000

I feel pretty - oh so pretty!

GREAT frag to fill in your "Lilac" spot in your collection.

Pretty strong ...considering.

Try it!

akitty0543

This is a very realistic lilac fragrance, and for the price it is definitely worth it. However, there is something slightly off. There's a scent in there that I can only describe as a "candy" smell. It's like lilacs and a hint of candy. There should be green notes in there that are lacking. The candy note takes their place. The authenticity of a living plant just isn't there. It's close, but it's not entirely perfect. But, at the price it's sold for it's definitely a gem. Definitely one dimensional, but if you're a lilac lover like I am you will likely be impressed.

Sheza

Thank you dear fragrantican for the generous sample. This is a lilac lovers dream, think my skin amps up the heliotrope which I'm not too fond of. Once it mellows out I dont mind it because it losely reminds me of guerlain idylle. I'm not familiar with the house but Seems good quality.

vintage_scent

I am very impressed with this little scent! I love everything about it...the VERY realistic lilac, the packaging, the price and longevity! One of the things I loved the most about this lilac is the heliotrope in it giving it a bit of an powdery feel and toning down any sharpness lilac can have to my nose. This is just the sweetest little purple aura...definitely my birthday scent this year...
I am really impressed with the Pacifica brand...superb quality for the price;)

I love that this smells like the old-fashioned country lilacs I grew up with that are so nostalgic and special to me, heady and intoxicating ...absolute aromatherapy like wistfully floating in a rowboat on a secluded pond surrounded by lilacs in the late afternoon sun...

ErinDewan

I'm a huge lilac fan and I bought this in the perfume and solid, and they smell lovely.
I'm quite happy with them, but I can't say I'm in love. This replicates the smell of lilac (with a certain sharpness not found in actual lilacs) but not the spirit of lilacs.
That may sound vague but it's true.
It doesn't smell cheap per se, but nor does it smell expensive.
Aerins lilac path is way up the price ladder but is waaayyyy worth it for the embodiment of a lilac garden in bloom. They bloom for such a short time ...such a fleeting, ephemeral experience deserves to be captured correctly.

LizB

So i have to admit that I don't have any fragrance memory of lilac (i'm going to have to find a bush now). I also held off on purchasing this until i had most of the rest of the Pacifica solids (this was on sale) as I believed it was going to be too old-lady and possibly powdery on me.
That said, i really like it! It has no synthetic notes (unlike some of the other solids) and is quite "juicy" (the nectarine?) I don't get any soap at all (which i get by the bucketload with say Star Jasmine (unfortunately)).
It is great on its own (I find i need to layer Persian Rose with something else as it's too overpowering for me).
The solid has good staying power and I could see myself wearing this as day scent to work etc.

matillyrose

Let me start by saying I adore Lilac bushes.

The colour, the shape and the fragrance which heralds in Spring.

Pacifica's French Lilac is a natural Lilac scent which stays true. I can smell nothing synthetic here.

Starts off quite strong but softens with time and then just pleasantly lingers in the background. I am always aware I have this on and enjoy it immensely.

Longevity on me is good, I wore it all day and went to bed with it on and could still smell its sweetness in the morning.

If you love Lilac that is not up in your face or anyone else's, this is definitely worth a try.

Of all of Pacifica's perfumes that I own, this one lasts the longest and I think smells the best.

I am reviewing the roll-on.

gardeniapetunia

I have tried/owned many lilacs, En Passant, Aerin Lauder's, and this is different but as good. It lasts a long time and the smell is long lasting. Don't let the price fool you, as it's just as good a lilac as more expensive perfumes. If cost is not an object, get the others, but they aren't "better", only different.

acid-cat

Natural lilac scent, very green and fresh. The most realistic lilac fragrance I've encountered. Simple floral with no other obviously detectable notes, powdery and warm drydown. Doesn't have great sillage or longevity on me, but as inexspensive as it is I don't mind reapplying.

Yourfoxiness

There's not much that I can add to the reviews found here. I'm very picky about my floral scents, as I work in the industry of flowers & plants over summer. This is a very true-to-scent lilac. The touch of Heliotrope is very nice, it adds a hint of sweetness, but not too much. The overall effect is that of almost a pure Lilac soliflore, but lacking a bit of the indolic nature of fresh lilac in sunshine. Different than the quirky En Passant, which tells us a tale of Ancient Lilac Hedges, cool, damp soil, and fields of sun, this simple delight by Padifica, is indeed worth every dime and more. This is the Lilac blossom, as found in the sunny garden. A huge armful of spring delight, at a most reasonable price! Count it a resounding success, and a very suitable alternate to its pricier sibling. To be perfectly honest, I prefer it.

Kittycat63

I am REALLY loving my French Lilac solid perfume and rollerball.

I find this such a naturalistic lilac and even though there are other notes (apparently magnolia, nectarine, etc) Lilac is pretty much ALL I can smell - which is fine by me as it's one of my favourite flower fragrances! It's so fresh, clean smelling and invigorating and is actually aromatherapeutic to me, making me feel happy and recharged when I apply it!

The solid perfume is, of course, in a small tin, and costs about £10.00 from websites here in the UK, which is not particularly cheap (although not exorbitant either!), but a little goes a long way so it probably lasts for quite a long time. The rollerball costs a bit more but again, a little goes a long way.

I just love this perfume and am so happy I've finally got it!!

LuScentinTenebris

Yes for lilac lovers. Extremely realistic, decent sillage, very affordable...perfect for a perfume designed to represent that very specific, very brief time of year when lilacs bloom.

It's quite sweet, but...so are lilacs.

Kittycat63

Pacifica perfumes are not easy to find here in the UK but you can find just about anything on sites such as Amazon so I looked this perfume up on there the other day and, to my delight, found I could get it from a UK website and with free delivery!

I ADORE the gorgeous smell of lilacs so, naturally, I was drawn in particular to this perfume and decided to give it a try as my first Pacifica buy! I ordered the rollerball perfume and also the solid perfume in the cute little tin as I love perfume solids but they're not very easy to come by usually.

I've grown up with lilac trees in my garden and was always besotted with the smell of the flowers (probably my favourite smelling flower!) and have always longed to be able to have a natural smelling lilac perfume. I've got the Yves Rocher one (which I believe may have been discontinued) and that smells very natural, although it's mixed with a little almond I think which dissipates the smell slightly.

I can happily say that Pacifica French Lilac definitely IS incredibly natural and true smelling, not at all synthetic and in fact, contrary to some other reviewers' experience of it, on me it's quite long-lasting and lasts for a good few hours. I just use a couple of little dabs of the perfume solid on my neck, behind my ears, on my wrists and a little on my 'decolletage' and I'm good to go and I get little whiffs of it for ages! The perfume solid tin is adorable and it comes in a little slidey-box, which is very nice in itself, and the rollerball is also very nicely presented in a lovely little lilac box and the rollerball bottle has little lilac flowers along the sides. Of course, both are super handy for slipping into a bag to freshen up on the go, if needs be!

On top of this, I'm a vegetarian and a MASSIVE animal lover so the fact that Pacifica perfumes are vegan, use natural ingredients and don't involve any animal cruelty is perfect for someone like me! Also, given the perfume 'scares' most of us have probably heard about by now (the use of all sorts of chemicals in a lot of perfumes that may get absorbed into our bloodstreams and possibly cause god knows what ailments!) these perfumes would be ideal for anyone who wants to take care of themselves anyway and use products with healthy ingredients in them.

10 out of 10 from me and I'm definitely trying more Pacifica perfumes - in fact, I've just ordered a solid of the Waikiki Pikaka and am crossing my fingers it's as positive a perfume experience as my French Lilac one is ! !

butterbean

lilacs. one of my mothers favorite flowers, they remind me of her.

French Lilac is a very good representation of true lilacs. There is a slightly sharper green note from the start but quickly dissapates into pure lilacs. As this scent wears a very very subtle almond sweet heliotrope sort of mellows the fragrance. It is very faint. You never lose the lilac. Overall it performs like a lilac soliflore, extremely realistic.

very pretty, very lilac, very floral.

longevity about 4 hrs.
sillage is quite strong - an easy double arms length.

I don't get soap in this, ever. Unless of course I'm smelling a high end, highly scented, French milled lilac soap that smells like lilacs and not suds.

zenbabylove

I ordered this in a value set and truth be told, I will likely finish the body wash and butter before I finish the perfume.I would like this much better without the soapy dry down I get! It lingers on my skin like bar soap that has been sitting in the shower. The scent at first is delightful and fresh, green and soft...nice for Easter time.

Ursa Mater

My review is for the solid--I have never sniffed the spray. I have a few nice, inexpensive Pacifica solids that I use primarily in summer as travel perfumes, they're great for carrying in a gym bag and daubing on after showering off the pool/beach, etc. Last year I used Mediterranean Fig solid in conjunction with the Mediterranean Fig body lotion this way a lot. Anyway, while the rest of the country is still frozen in ice, my area is firmly established in spring, and I have been somewhat reluctantly putting away my rich winter scents and playing with things lighter, more floral. I blind bought a solid of French Lilac as that's a springtime scent I have been jonesing for--living in this drought, there's not a lot of real world lilac scent around me these days. True to what i have come to expect from the Pacifica line, this is a rather lovely, simple and simply pleasing scent. Strong true lilac notes, a bit of ylang ylang in the background, powdery, dries down a bit soapy fresh but without that certain synthetic laundry soap note that wrinkles my nose. Quite pretty, a bit sweet for me for every day but then that's lilac for you, and I'm not really an everyday floral person. Nice for a casual spring day when you want an easy mood brightener.

Lilithorvat

This fragrance is childhood nostalgia for me. My grandmother had a couple of massive lilac bushes, taller than me, in her front yard. This scent takes me back to Summer days in the Sierras lounging in the grass by the lilacs. It's very true to scent, it's like I'm standing there smelling them all over again. Not to heavy, just right, lovely.

juliaten

I think it smells synthetic-ish. Reminds me Yves Rocher "Lily of the valley" lotion.

Fhaldara

I really like this. It has a lovely, fresh and fragrant lilac scent, creamy but taking nothing away from the freshness. It has none of the overly sweet synthetic smell that so many lilac scents have. I do wish it had more longevity, but like the actual flowers the scent fades quickly. It's true lilac though, and proof that you don't always have to spend top dollar to get a good perfume.

Cake10

I'm really picky about lilac because of the tendency for things to turn to straight up powder on my skin. This is an interesting lilac that doesn't have that odd gasoline quality and it doesn't smell like old lady, woohoo!

This is an overwhelmingly lilac fragrance. I smell some hyacinth and a little hint of ylang ylang in the background. I only smell florals here, none of the nectarine note I see mentioned in the description above.

This is a comforting scent and it is perfect for spring. I wore it to see the cherry blossoms blooming in Washington DC and it was the perfect choice for that!

It is a bit powdery, but the combination of florals here keeps it smelling youthful. It has a very faint synthetic note on my skin, but is still very soft smelling. I like this fragrance.

It's a peaceful kind of smell like watching puffy, blossoming trees in the spring at sunset.

Rommy.Hoefler

I bought it blindly based on the reviews below and because it was suggested to me in the "new to the world of fragrances" topic and OMG:
you were so right!
This is it. It smells exactly like syringa/lilac!!
I cannot believe it.
And so inexpensive as well and all natural.
It does fade rather quickly, I have to say, but then again, I have the roll-stick thing, just ordered the perfume spray, hopefully that will last a bit longer.

My search for the best syringa-based perfume has ended; this is it.
Now freesia and plumeria... :-)

PurpleLilac

I love lilacs and this is great! sweet and beautiful and clean! It is more sweeter than the actual lilacs and does not last very well but for the price it is fantastic and realistic!!!!

raw umber

Do you enjoy lavender soliflores but find them to be too tonic-like, too crisp and masculine-leaning? Haha, I sound like an old fashioned TV commercial..

Lilacs have a similar kind of non-sweet, clean soap feeling to lavender, as well as a similar calming/uplifting duality to their scent. However, I feel that lilacs are the real elegant ladies of this purple pair. That said, a man could totally wear them too.

Pacifica's French Lilac is straight lilacs and creamy heliotrope. It is fresh and realistic. The ample helping of heliotrope adds volume and creates a velvety plush sensation around this potentially astringent purple flower.

French Lilac could be dressed up or down, because though it is a simple scent, it also smells quite expensive to me, but in reality, I bought it at Whole Foods for 20 bucks.
Sillage is powerful, longevity is average. Effortlessly lovely.

goofycaramel

Soft, relaxing lilac with a powdery dry down (to me the powder smell skews young instead of being reminiscent of old ladies). I've had the fortune of smelling lilac flowers in bloom in a botanic garden, and this smells very close to real lilac flowers.

I like to put this on before bed or when I feel a little high-strung since it has a calming scent.

Ginnie A

I have this in the solid form, the dinky tin is adorable! This is the bomb if you love lilacs as I do,perfection in a tin,how pacifica got the scent so dead on I,ll never know, total wow,buy it,you wont regret it!

mopi

I'm smelling this perfume, I'm closing my eyes, and what I see? Lilac bush....amazing!

EsrahLouise

This is *not* a lilac scent, not really, but I quite like it. When I first tried it on it felt like I was being hit in the face with a bouquet of oversprayed perfume test strips, and I was a little bit worried about the headache I'd get if this trend continued. I'd tried it on in the first place because the bottle smelled like its dry-down which did, luckily, emerge after about an hour. It is clean, a little bit soapy, it's more like fresh cotton and gardenia and actual a very gentle and soft scent. It smells the way that Sarah Horowitz's "Perfect Veil" is described as smelling. While the latter doesn't live up to the description, in my opinion, the former could do so quite easily.

Yah-el

It's okay. I have yet to smell a lilac fragrance that smells as good as the real deal. If there is one, I'd be glad to know about it.

missk

Pacifica is a brand of surprisingly good quality. I'm really impressed by French Lilac, a smooth, fresh and powdery floral that represents lilac well.

Lilac is indeed the most dominant floral note, however I can also smell a delicious heliotrope accord, which provides an almost nutty feel. French Lilac is the perfect fragrance for Spring, however it may not appeal to everyone.

Admittedly French Lilac does have a slightly more mature scent, as most powdery florals do. That's not to say that it smells anything like an 'old lady', but I do find it somewhat unsuitable for young girls. It's also important not to overdo this fragrance, especially seeing that the projection is strong.

Without being soapy, French Lilac has a very clean and crisp aroma. In some instances you could compare it to the scent of a floral laundry detergent. Nevertheless, I find it very pleasant.

Pacifica can be very tempting, especially in the way that they provide so many layering options, for example, lotions, solid perfumes and soaps. I must admit that I'm pleased to see so many Australian stores now stocking Pacifica. French Lilac is definitely worth smelling.

sarah.lily

i love floral scents and have been experimenting with them for some time now, without much success. rose makes me smell fusty, watery flowers fade away, and white florals go way too sweet on me. i think lilac might just be the one! french lilac is floral in a creamy and green way. it's not too sweet, but it is scrumptious! fresh yet comforting. i know it's nostalgic for me, and looking through the reviews it seems to be that way for most; i like that people will experience that when they smell my perfume. the sillage seems to fade quickly, but then i get a random whiff every now and then. overall just lovely stuff.

Repogirl

If you want a true dead-on lilac scent, this is it. Every time I wear this, I am reminded of my Grammy - she had a bunch of lilac bushes outside her kitchen window. This scent smells EXACTLY like a warm breeze playing with the lilac bushes outside her window. Love it.

cakeforce

If you're looking for a realistic lilac fragrance, you aren't going to get much closer than this. The other notes are barely noticeable, from the first spray all the way through the dry down. It also lasts a decent amount of time and is fairly inexpensive.

This is not a scent that I like much or would ever buy for myself, but it's a fairly inoffensive scent that the majority of people will likely be pleased by. My best friend swears by this.

OTA Mom

I'm enjoying wearing this one. Sweet, creamy--and believable.

2746cstreet

The most convincing lilac I've smelled. I miss lilacs out here in California.
Powdery, but not fusty or like baby powder. Has a slight woodiness and greenness that I really enjoy. Simple and elegant.
Very strong, especially in the solid perfume version. The bath products are also great right before bed.

Kiera79

This is starts off very soapy on me. It does dry down into a nice lilac fragrance, but it disappears so quickly!

RedDeLishus

This smells like lilacs in full bloom, in a garden. The other tones are far in the background though they are there. I use the lotion with the spray. I spray my hair. I am going to go for their new solid perfume sample which is only $2. There is nothing perfume-y about this, it is just flowers. Authentic.

Aredore

I own the solid perfume version of this. I prefer it to the spray version because the coco butter-smelling solid the scent is anchored in seems to help ground the fragrance, pulling it in to the body and to melt more seamlessly into human skin.

The tiny tin is inexpensive - in the neighborhood of 15 dollars two years ago, if I remember correctly, - and is heavily fragranced, boasting a thick, slightly powdery silage that smells very realistically of May lilacs wafting though warm spring air.

Radchick

This reminds me so much of my childhood because there were so many lilac trees around. This scent nails it perfectly. I've never smelled anything so true to a real lilac. Smells very fresh, pretty and natural.

brittbrittxo

I was just so surprised by how much it smells exactly like a lilac bush! I have it in a roller. It's pretty strong, but I was disappointed when you put it on that it's longevity is weak. I just love the Pacifica brand because they're so summery and fresh :)

LaUna

Lilacs spot on. Pleasant springtime floral with moderate silage. Reminiscent of spring in bloom and Sunshine. Soft and perfect scent to brighten up my day:)

Myella

One of my favourite perfumes! So feminine and soft! My boyfriend loves it.

Garrett

Just like you're standing in front of a lilac tree in full bloom and inhaling it all. Authentic and absolutely wonderful.

cbishton

This was a real surprise for me as I have been searching for a new fragrance for some time. Recently, all the department store big brands have been headache inducing and just seem so artifical, so chemically, which, in fact, they are. So this was a breath of fresh air to me. I got several Pacifica fragrances yesterday after ordering semi-blind online (I read many reviews) and I nearly squealed with glee upon discovering each one. I decided to go with this one for day one. It opens with heady lilac, true to the flower, and very pure. Very quickly it softened into green powdery notes envoking a summer garden. I could not stop sniffing my wrists, inhaling in the clean pure fragrance. It's incredibly long-lasting as well. I still could smell it this morning and it has lasted an entire day again with no respray. This is lovely, especially if more pricey concoctions are disappointing you with their artificiality. What I love the most is the green aspect of this, somehow earthy and fragrant as if the flowers were in your grasp along with the leaves and a tuft of rich earth.

Aspendina

This is a dead on lilac, so beautiful.

DresdenDoll

I adore lilac, as it always makes me think of May at my grandmothers where there are two large lilac bushes outside the house. This really is a true lilac scent, right down to the light waxy feel the flowers have. Absolutely wonderful.

Harusha12

This is one of my favorite perfumes. Hands DOWN.

It's just...STUNNING! I smelled it at summer camp (one of my fellow counselors had it with them) and I fell in love. It's very lilac-y, but it has a creamy sort of cast to it, with a beautiful hint of fruity softness -- I think it's nectarine, but I could be wrong.

Just ran out of my first roller-ball. Definitely ordering it again! I highly recommend the roller-ball, it's sooooo convenient, and I feel like more of the scent actually gets on my skin!

arnela

I want this. Must have it!Love french lilac!

dews

This is a strong fragrance for me so I can't stand its overpowering smell on my skin over time, but this French Lilac is a good quality perfume, it doesn't smell synthetic and has smell of pure lilac.

reusch210

I've tried a lot of fragrances. Some smell nice on a tester strip but not on you. Some smell nice on you but then don't last. Some smell nice at the beginning but then change into a drydown that bothers you. Some you like parts of but then they are too sweet. Some you like but they don't give you any emotional reaction or have a strong character. French Lilac is a winner for me in that the first time I tried it on it just felt great, lasted, and made a happy and beautiful cloud around me. My husband also commented on the first day that it smelled great.

Museumgal

This is a single note, but if you love lilac you can't go wrong with this! Very true lilac scent and very reasonably priced.

Turtledove

True to life lilac! Just like the air smells when the flowers are blooming, it's really beautiful. It has a cool, slightly powdery, almost vanilla/milky softness to it also, it might go nicely with the right vanilla scent.

xstitchalanna

I love this one! It is such a beautiful realistic lilac! It is a single note perfume, but sometimes I feel thats all I want to wear. It lasts about an hour or so strong and then lasts about 5 more hours near the skin. Great for any age! Best for Spring and Summer daytime, or if you want to smell a little summer when it's snowing outside. :)

aqua76239

When I was growing up, there was a lilac bush in our backyard and every spring when it bloomed, that whole area smelled so wonderful. We always sniped few flowers to put inside our home and just the scent of it brings back memories of my childhood. I always wished that I could find the scent that captures the true beauty of lilacs and this is it. It smells just like fresh flower. I bought lotion as well as edt and its absolutely lovely! HG!
P.S. I have to add that if you have this fragrance, try to use it up right away because it will go bad and spoil. I don't know whether its because its made in a different way that other perfumes but I keep mine in a cool dark place and none have gone bad as fast as this one. I have body lotion as well and the scent went bad in that as well. This is very unfortunate because I adore this scent but I have a lot of fragrances and can't use it all up as quickly as I would like, so I won't buy this again
