This makes me happy but I need to overspray for that happiness to remain. However, when I do, the osmanthus is so nice and it interlaces seamlessly with the peach and the violet. There is definitely some citrus/rose freshness going on also. I struggle with orange blossom if it’s too dominant and sharp but I can’t even tell it’s here. At first, I was really disappointed in the longevity and sillage but overspraying on clothes really did the trick for me.

loliirain

I got this because I saw it under fragrances that resemble Benefit Maybe Baby. I would say that it’s 90% close. When you spray Peng Lai it smells a little more musky and powdery at first. Immediately afterwards the violet begins to develop with the rose and peach. It smells like Maybe Baby with a splash of violets. Once it fully dries down the violet disappears and I’m left with a soft rosey peach tea. It’s a light scent, with soft projection. Not bad overall, good for occasions where you can’t wear strong scents. Got about 4 hours of wear.

Cloelles

Smells like a body cream. It´s pleasant but nothing special. A smell I imagine on an older woman for a day scent. Kind of generic hand cream / body cream smell. Not fresh.. just creamy..No peach neither. Mild and intimate. No resemblance to Flower of Immortality what so ever. That one is fresher, powdery, elegant and younger and has a similar scent to peach gummy candies with a touch of rose.

Probably the best Berdoues I've tried so far, Peng Lai has my heart. Beautiful osmanthus. It's not as deep and fleshy as Good Girl Gone Bad, and not as sweet as The Beat, in my opinion. But I do see the similarities. A light osmanthus and light white peach, perfect for spring. I can really smell the rubbery petals here. I would probably buy this, I love osmanthus so so much.

Elysiom

This is such a unique and wonderful fragrance. It's like nothing I've ever smelled before, and yet very reminiscent. The peach/osmanthus is so well balanced and formulated here- it's delicate. Clean. Fresh.

Honestly if I didn't receive this in a sampler pack I never would have tried it. Bath and Body Works turned my stomach in the 90's with their god awful 'fruit' sprays, and synthetic peach is... god it's awful. Here it's... a symphony. And a callback to those days in a modern way.

Best from Berdoues right here. There's something also inherently comforting in this scent- I can't put my finger on it.

Peng Lai from Berdoues Grand Crus collection is easy to wear ,mass pleasing niche. Its osmanthus dominant perfume, the osmanthus sometimes has resemblance scent to Peach, but in here you can still can smell that this is flower scent not only Peach all the way.its not complicated, beautiful Fruity floral scent.I think it will be amazing in summer and spring

Liene

Peng Lai is osmanthus dominant scent for warm weather daytime. Overall it gives peachy floral feel. However peachiness feels like coming just from an osmanthus. There is some citrus notes in the opening, and I can detect some lemon later on, as well. It is not very grounded scent - base is just quite a small dose of tonka bean with some dewy violet. It sums up in a rather poor staying power (4 hours max) and barely there sillage. It is a pleasant perfume, but far from great performance wise.

The official Berdoues websites only lists 3 notes: Osmanthus, tonka and benzoin. Out of these I only get the osmanthus. Both of the other notes would add warmth and sweetness, but this is a super-clean floral. The osmanthus smells so cool, soapy and sterile, especially at first, it kind of reminds me of hairspray. Later it turns more peachy, which I find much more palatable. The drydown smells better with a little body warmth, so I'd categorize this as a summer perfume.
Now I don't mind inoffensive, clean scents, but this crosses the line to bland. Even though I often write long, detailed reviews, I have no idea what else to say about this.
The most noteworthy thing about Peng Lai is the beautiful pattern on the bottle.

This is a fresh easy to wear fragrance, perfect for a spring day ...with amazingly good longevity on me - 10+ hours, sillage is moderate in the first 2-3 hours, after it sits close to the skin but you can still smell it on you

VERY NICE LIGHT, FLORAL & SOPHISTICATED
I love this perfume. It's light and floral, but not overbearing. It reminds me of gentle summer afternoons flowing into sultry nights. It's a perfect scent for a feminine touch without overwhelming others. This scent is also very suitable for younger girls with a sophisticated style who want to avoid the standard fruity scents often marketed at them. I like it for the office, dining out and day time use - pretty much any situation you don't want a heavy perfume.

What gives this fragrance a special character and keeps it from going too musky and sharp once dried down is a deliciously sweet osmanthus / apricot note. My least favorite stage is right after spraying when citrus and musky notes tickle my nose. Luckily, as the drydown progresses, sweeter floral and fruity notes emerge. Even though the sillage is intimate to moderate, the longevity on clothes is beyond 12 hours. If it were not for those sharp initial and middle stages, I would really love this fragrance.

Rosieposie84

It's a very pleasant, light and feminine fragrance, however nothing about it stands out to me. I could be one of hundreds of 'pleasant floral feminine frangrances' to me. Pleasant enough but very forgettable.

fairycoffins

I thought this would be a winner for me based on the notes, but unfortunately this was a flop. Upon the first spray, I get powdery floral vibes, which isn’t me at all. It dries down to a faint peach skin scent and barely lasts an hour. I’ll use up the sample but I will not be purchasing this.

Editing to add: I sprayed some of my sample onto a fake floral arrangement and I enjoy it a lot better this way as opposed to on my skin. It is pretty.

Aromantra

A light feminine fragrance that is inoffensive and subtle. Has a peach iced tea scent but done in a very upscale way. It reminds me of a women's locker room from a 5-star spa/gym I used to visit - and I mean that in the best way possible. An elegant fruity floral that works well for any age group. This is not my usual favourite fragrance type, but it has really grown on me.

rickyrebarco

Really lovely fragrance with a unique citrus and osmanthus pairing, accompanied by other florals and a peach note that is just right, not too much. So many peach notes become dominant and can be too sweet and too overwhelming. Not the case here. The balance in this scent is 'just right' and it is offered at a good price for a niche fragrance. This fragrance also comes in travel size bottles that are very affordable. An uplifting scent that is perfect for spring and summer.

Quy

Highly pleasant citrus and floral fragrance. The osmanthus is the highlight. I get a creamy peach note as well. I don't really understand the high ratings for sillage. It is pretty much an instant skin scent on me and doesn't project at all. That's fine if that's what you want, just be aware that it's a very light scent. It is hard for me to justify the price point for a full bottle if I will barely be able to smell it on myself after an hour or so.

astrakan

Love! It smells like osmanthus tea! It's refreshing and such a perfect scent for summer. It has a little bit of that "tropical fruit" vibe, but it manages to not be childish. Grown up peach perfume.

I just wish it was available in smaller bottles or at a cheaper price. For such a light and simple scent I don't think it's worth the full price, no matter how much I love it.

melikaofpersia

This is such a beautiful soft fragrance. The peach is so fresh yet kinda creamy, the mandarine gives this fragrance such a youthful twist. The musk, the rose and the iris kinda just dance in the background. I don't detect any vanilla (which I'm happy about, because I feel like the sweetness of the vanilla would kinda ruin this powdery citrusy greatness). As it dries down, I can see past the peach and detect a little more of the iris.

To me, this is more of a spring/summer fragrance. The sillage is actually good, but the longevity doesn't blow my mind by any means.

To me, this fragrance smells like a young woman. She's very polite and always dresses clean and cute. She has a very positive aura and people love talking to her, but she can also be clumsy at times. (I know it might sound weird to some people, but I sometimes personify perfumes in my head lol)

(So I just took a look at the Sephora's website and I can't find this perfume anywhere, has this been discontinued???)

Oh and as much as I enjoy this fragrance, I don't see much of any ressemblance to Kilian Good Girl Gone Bad which much more elegant and wayyy creamier than Berdoues Peng Lai.

mv88

A peachy citrus that is more subtle and less sugary than other fruit fragrances. While I enjoy some fruity scents, I usually find them too candy-like if they're purely fruity with no complexity. Peng Lai, however, has a great mix of different notes!

Plenty of light florals and soft musk are in there.
The lemon and lime it's topped with really add a lovely bit of tartness (almost like pure vitamin C powder or sweettart candies) and after a few seconds, the hint of tonka and vanilla tone them down into a more peachy note.

I think it's a fabulous, sunny summer scent, especially if you want a fruit fragrance without a lot of sugar.

... but I don't find it has good longevity on me.

JamTime

Mostly floral with a trace of citrus and no tonka bean whatsoever. A very powedery scent that is flat and doesn't change or open up. Smells like a cheap line of perfume which is quite a surprise coming from Berdoues which usually has exceptional fragrances.

However, I will say, my skin and chemistry does not usually work well with scents with floral profiles. So maybe it's just me?

churinl

This is the perfume that made me fall in love with osmanthus. It's really light and fruity, but there is more depth to it than I expected. While this is equally floral, I find it hard to identify any distinct floral notes other than the osmanthus, but I know they are there. It's like carrying a bouquet of flowers through a peach orchard! I have the small pen spray, but am considering a full bottle for the summer. At under $100 for niche quality, I think it's worth it. It does call to mind By Kilian Good Girl Gone Bad, but at a fraction of the cost.

Cloudburst2000

I got a sample of this fragrance with a purchase and I was not impressed. I get a very strong alcohol note in this fragrance that makes it smell extremely cheap to me and the alcohol note sticks around for quite a while too. I also get a powdery orange note but it smells very synthetic to me. This does not smell like a $100+ fragrance to me. It doesn't strike me as a well blended fragrance and the alcohol note is majorly off-putting. It smells more like something you would pick up in the drugstore for less than $20.

elmccullar

This is a BEAUTIFUL fruity floral! Something reminds me of Anna Sui DNA. You couldn’t possibly offend anyone with this scent. It’s light and airy, slightly sweet, just classically pretty. Longevity is pretty decent.

xmelldefrag

Peng Lai is a fruity treat that begins a bit sour from the variant of tangerines combined with osmanthus, and over time it's getting sweeter, a bit generic for my taste, but still lovable for me to wear.

This medium silage perfume stays for 4 or 5 hours, and then turns into a skin scent.

The package design though, very very nice and oriental.

A safe blind buy for girls, but guys might want to try first.

cranky137

This is a nice (pink) floral, quite unique, but nothing extraordinary. I wouldn't pay the full (niche) price for this.

For me it is mostly about peach note, which is so intense and prominent, and also hold thorugh opening and heart notes. It is well-blended with osmanthus and vanilla. The scent is not that complex as the notes might suggest, so even a newbie in niche perfumery would easily wear it. I don't detect any iso-e that I hoped for.

I would recommend to sample this for a variety and I consider it to se a safe everyday scent. I don't Think you will be noticed, but definitely non-offensive.

lj9142

I received a sample of Peng Lai and I’m so glad I did. If I had read the notes prior to a possible purchase I would never have looked twice at this scent as it isn’t my usual cup of tea. With that being said I feel slightly ashamed because this is a beautiful, sensual, inviting fragrance that I can’t stop sniffing. It is a bright and honest floral. Yes, a floral, which I’m not overly fond of. But it is a sweet inviting open air floral garden with a touch of green in it to lighten it up, making it not a fl Rap bomb that is heavy and choking. It blends beautifully through each composition until we have this rich woodsy vanilla ending.

This is something I would wear during the daytime. It has enough depth to be worn at night, but I feel it just has more of a daytime sensual vibe versus a nighttime sultry sexy approach.

Q80

I don't know exactly what i am sniffing in here! it's soft, skin like, and very fleshy! sensually fleshy and not the zombie perverted like :D

I believe the musk, osmanthus, & Iso E Super (i'm not sure what that is) are creating something weird! a skin like with bits of peaches, & violet leaves to create this blend! It is weirdly addictive as it's very soft and sensual! The orange blossoms blends in within the roses to soften the sharpness of the roses and creates a floral mix to cover that musk osmanthus mix.

I can't define wither it's impressive or captivating, all i can say is this one is a must try! it's the first time i am sniffing such although i kind of detect a tiny bit of "Clair de Musc" by Serge Lutens with that white shirt burnt note!
