Thank you to some of the reviews for making me buy this. I needed a fresher approach to Olympia and In Flames. Yes the vein is Olympia and In Flames, but on me this incorporates more elements that makes this more wearable and youthful-playful. The opening, and part of it as a whole, is reminiscent of In Flames due to their powdery-balsamic heliotrope-rose combo along with the lactonic coconut, but a lot more toned down here and more youthful due to the absence of In Flames' dirty amber. In Flames can be pungent, ambery-sharp and too perfumey and mature (headache inducing). At the same time, in the opening of To Be Miss Beat, I detect the deep, soft -almost waxy- cashmere, common with Olympia, minus the intense pencil shavings element of both Olympia and In Flames. Here the balsamic woody base as that of In Flames is prominent, but not as sharp (no intense pencil shavings smell here).

Along with the coconut, I detect right away a sweet, solar note like orange blossom developing. I bet there is some here (some orange blossom) or that's how coconut blossom performs, similar to orange blossom, but with the coconut's deep milky sweetness. Now the sad part to orange blossom or ylang ylang (they perform similar on me) and likewise the coconut blossom here is that IF there is too much concentration of that note, and paired with wood or musk, they give a metallic almost like camphor/stinky smell on me. Here I sense that metallic orange blossom type of scent (not too much like stinky camphor) which eventually becomes part of the fragrance's character. This reminds me of the solar "metallic" ylang ylang in BBW Tropidelic - that part of Miss Beat smells like the ylang ylang of Tropidelic on me, pretty identical. They tried to emulate the dry, metallic, jasmine-sandalwood scent of Olympia and In Flames, by using smoother notes: the coconut blossom instead of jasmine, minus the stinky pencil shavings.
No intense spicy tartness of Olympia here either (ambergris-ginger, uh no thanks).

As it transitions from the opening to the drydown it becomes rather soapy on me which is a nice element differentiating this from Olympia/In Flames. Smoother coconut, not overly salty and most importantly no dirty amber which makes In Flames (La Rive) too perfumey and spicy for me, especially because In Flames has the balsamic heady rose. Here the rose is not heady, but just balsamic and melancholy, paired with the almondy heliotrope to keep this scent in the theme, so to me, Miss Beat is closer to In Flames due to their "melancholy" powdery rose-heliotrope notes. The heliotrope, fav note of Police, is not stinky-dusty on me here (it is stinky and dusty in To Be Tattooart). It really smells almondy on my skin (which rarely does) and it pairs nicely with the sweet peach and rose. That being said, this is a good quality perfume, much much better than Olympia and In Flames imo. No headache for me no nausea.

The opening is also giving Pure XS for a moment, due to their peach, coconut/vanilla/orange blossom - well coconut blossom here - but of course Pure XS takes a different route eventually.

Peach here instead of orange (in In Flames) and instead of mandarin (in Olympia) is genius! The orange and mandarin make Olympia and In Flames smell too high-pitched/sour for me, similar to D & G Pour Femme. So we escape the sandalwood, mandarin, jasmine of Olympia here (also in D & G Pour Femme, and in Pepe Jeans Black is Now which to me is a mix of Pour Femme -very sour- Olympia and with some Pure XS in there). The mandarin-jasmine-sandalwood always gives me a headache as with Olympia and it smells artificial - the reason Pour Femme smells like furniture polish to me (Sublime - Ulric De Varens vein).

The first hour it seems to be a dupe of Olympea but its not. When it drys down gets veeeery soft and nothing like the first hour but very subtle.

If you are on a budget and dont want to spend all the money in Olympea this can be an option but it dryes down differently than Olympea.

Salty Fruity-Florals & Vanilla...

This is a dupe of Olympéa Paco Rabanne with good approximation and above average performance. Opens with a fruity-floral burst of black-currant & lily-of-the-valley accented by coconut-blossom, but already the Olympéa DNA is swelling through. The coconut-blossom here has a soft beachiness that helps create a white-floral illusion. As it transitions to the heart, more floral tones emerge, while the fruity facets are elaborated with white-peach. The amber & vanilla in the base have a saltiness reminiscent of ambergris, while in the long drydown woody musk tones slowly emerge. The performance here is better than expected, and better than other dupes of Olympéa such as In Flames La Rive, but not quite as strong performing as the original Olympéa. However, the slightly lighter performance will make this easier to wear for some. It's a love for me. Enjoy!

Gemsense

Very very light fragrance, hardly detectable. Actually it’s like a lighter version of Olympea Legend mixed with Olympea. It’s ok but I’m thinking this may be better for summer like the other two are.
Yep, the weather's warmed up and now this fragrance has turned up the volume! It has a strong voice now, still smells like Olympia but with a little something more deeper.

nateya

This smells exactly like Olympea but not as salty and add berries. I really like Olympea but the salty/balsamic notes is too much sometimes. Miss Beat is the perfect balance of that salty vibe (although there’s no salt note). If you like Olympea but it’s too much for you or you felt like it was missing something, definitely give this a try.

VictoriaSmells

Usually the 'To Be' flankers all have a synthetic undertone, but I don't get that with Miss Beat. This might be one of the more refined smelling ones! However, i do think most of the To Be line are really hidden gems. Say what you want about the bottles, but the juice is always so unique. You certainly won't smell like everyone else. And the prices are unbeatable.

On to the controversial part...
To my neurodivergent nose: This smells like a relative of Mugler Alien Fusion way more than Paco Rabbane Olympea. Not quite a dupe, but I tested all 3 at the same time and Miss Beat smells like a shampooy, fruity version of Alien Fusion. They are both floral, woody, spicy, sweet, powdery, and ambery.
Olympea is salty, sharp, marine, balsamic, and heady in a dry & scratchy way... It doesn't even belong in the same family.

Personally, Olympea gives me a really pinchy feeling in my sinuses. I must be sensitive to the salty marine accord. It's like a full blast of sea water up my nose, and it's actually quite unpleasant... I really don't detect the fruit or spices in Olympea because I'm overwhelmed by that salt. And I think it's the sandalwood also keeps it really "dry."

Miss Beat and Alien Fusion share the same 'wetness' or richness in my brain.
Something about the sweetness of Miss Beat reminds me of the candied tuberose in Alien Fusion. The woods, amber and vanilla give me the same exact warm cozy feeling. Miss Beat may not be as spicy as Alien Fusion. The biggest difference is in the drydown. Alien Fusion tapers off a little more powdery, almost like hay. While Miss Beat hangs on to the sweet fruits a little longer.

This is Olympea with a hint of berries. I dont see a salty note listed but it does give a little bit of that vibe. A little sweeter also. Beautiful fragrance! Will definitely be giving these skulls another kick. This was a blind buy at a good price.

kitty_machine

Vanilla, coconut, creamy floral... Fresh and sweet

RocCity3

Idk about this one, on the fence. By the notes and reviews I expected something deeper and richer, but this scent is light and has more floral than I expected. It's ok, not blown away, but I also have not smelled Olympia. Maybe this needs to sit a bit to get more of that vanilla, but otherwise it's nice. Not a love, but nice.

dglightblue

Bit of a clean laundry scent.. it was moreso yesterday..
A little rounded with the vanilla. Not a foodie scent.

Lasts well... safe scent.

Tested three of these lately. Not bad overall for price, they are in no way complex though.
All seem safe and inoffensive

A beautiful fragrance in the ugliest bottle. Everyone is saying it resembles Olympea but it really doesn’t. I can’t stand Olympea, I don’t understand all the hype, the salty note doesn’t agree with my skin and then it goes super sweet. I don’t pick up any coconut/vanilla etc but this one To Be Miss Beat is beautiful. This is smooth, creamy the coconut and vanilla are present but not cloying and the floral is sweet but not sickly. Lilly of the valley can be very screechy but it’s so well done in this fragrance.

It’s dirt cheap but really nice quality. I think it would be beautiful on sun kissed skin in summer but I also think the warmth of this scent is very good for winter too.

Kalexander1710

I just picked this up after seeing these bottles floating around d. I had definitely just assumed these fragrances were a novelty because of the bottle and not because they were any good. But, boy was I wrong. This is a pretty spot in dupe of Olympea. I had one on the one hand and this on the other and I would say that they are 95 - 98% similar. Dare I say, I lean ever so slightly toward the Police one. The amber and the vanilla are very present throughout the entire wear. The coconut is there but not overwhelmingly so. This is so well blended that it’s hard to pick out specific notes that I’m smelling. Then, I have to mention that the longevity is impressive! Almost 12 hours later I could still smell it on my skin, not just on my clothes. I found this on FragranceNet for less than $18 for a 4.2 oz bottle, which is an absolute steal.

UnearthlyApothecary

Miss Beat is a terrific fruity/salty ambroxan. That salty Amber kinda recalls Alkemia Ghost Fire. If you are NOT a fan of Ambroxan you might want to avoid this one. I got great throw from it one and after a few hours it’s settled close to my skin but still noticeable. I would hesitate to compare it to Olympia it doesn’t really smell the same to my nose other that salty vibe. I just love the Police skull bottles and I have yet to be disappointed by one of their scents. For the dirt cheap price tag you really can’t go wrong.

amyaz

I've never smelled olympea.
Opens with an initial blast of peaches, slightly aquatic, for about 10 minutes. Somehow it crazy morphes and dries down to something close of Libre intense (aka fancy dryer sheet but still has a touch of peach) from ysl. Weirdly this gives me a headache but ysl doesnt.
Poor longevity and fleeting sillage; 4 sprays and it's gone within 90 minutes, 2 sprays on the shoulder and within 20 minutes I have to have my nose 4 inches from it to smell it.

Littlesweetie

Does this get stronger with age? My bottle arrived today. I just drowned myself in it, and I can’t even smell it unless I sniff my shirt. In five to ten minutes it’s completely gone. I do like the scent when I can smell it though.
FYI, I see people here saying there is no salt note, but I do detect some saltiness myself. I haven’t tried Olympea, so it may be way less by comparison. If this gets stronger in a few months, I could see myself really enjoying it.
FYI, many months later, and it is definitely stronger. I wouldn’t say it’s particularly long lasting, but this one is nice.

vanilie

smells like most olympea "inspired by"s that i've tried meaning it holds back on the salt note for some reason. it's still there but i mainly feel sweet vanilla with a little bit of coconut and peach. alright for a fall/winter frag but it's a frequent reapplier for me.

JolieSucre

I like it, don't love it. It's potent & sweet, a very pleasant scent BUT.
I find it has exactly the same 'problem' like Police Passion - one loud, screechy note that I tend to detect as overpowering.
If I'm not paying attention it's ok, and everyone likes these perfumes. But if I do, it's not the scent I'd want.
Not sure what 'that note' in this one is. Ambroxan? Cedar wood? Spicy something?
Thankfully it's most prominent in the opening, even if it stays throughout the drydown. At least I can't smell it anymore.
Wouldn't consider this a favourite fragrance, more like something to put on when running errands (I cannot not apply perfume, even when I'm home alone). Nothing extraordinary, nothing special.
I don't find it resembling Olympea, to me that one is much more caramel-y and amber-y. But well yeah, it's not bad.
So I guess this is my most 'meh!' perfume.

VelvetTrance

I get zero coconut but I do get gorgeous powdery florals, a little bit of juicy peach and lots of yummy vanilla. It's so beautiful! It's very, very sweet, probably too sweet for some but I absolutely love it. I am such a fan of these Police fragrances in the skull bottles. They smell much more expensive than they are.

Jasmindee

Holy Olympea, batman!

If you're looking for a super cheap dupe, this might just make you very happy. (And your purse happy! I got a huuuge 100ml bottle for less than £10 on Ebay.)

I loved Olympea, but I haven't owned it for a while. I've been thinking about that perfume a lot recently and took a chance with this dupe, and honestly? I'm pleasantly surprised.

I find the bottle quite gaudy, and I was hoping that the tacky blue headphones would be removable, but so far, no luck. I might get my DIY genius father-in-law to have a look at it because the hot pink skull is actually quite cute and the glass is heavy and I think this would look great on my perfume shelf. I'll update if I can get the bloody ugly blue thing off!

Anyway.... I got distracted...

This is a very sweet, feminine salty vanilla with hints of coconut and floral heliotrope before settling down into a smooth, woodsy dry down. Miss Beat is sexy in a muted way, smooth and warm. Perfect for sunshine and beach days.

I love it! This has satisfied all my Olympea cravings without my boyfriend nagging me that I spend too much money on perfumes, hehe.

can anyone explain to me how can a cheap perfume like this masterfully complete my girlfriend's look ? _sea , sunny skin , starry night _everything is here

As other reviewers have mentioned, To Be Miss Beat smells exactly like Olympea by Paco Rabanne, although its sweeter, and not as 'salty'.

JustSimpleThings

A spot on dupe of Olympéa. Beautiful!

homosapiensdementis

This parfume came today and i think its beautiful. At first it's quite heavy and very sweet, but over tíme it develops to beautiful clean, powdery smell of vanilla and and something was not able to identify. I can't smell coconut which is trest cuz i hate the smell of it. Overall i really like the smell.

Soofiya

Today my love surprised me with a 75mil bottle of Police Miss Beat.even though it's bottle is a red skull-shaped glass with supercheap plastic headphones,I like it.
Now I can see a lot of similarities with Olympia as there's tones of beachy coconut and salty vanilla all through it's life.I'm not a fan of the opening part as this salty coconut-vanilla doesn't go well with it's fruity top notes.so I find it overbearing, there should be sea notes or salt among the top notes as it's very very strong to my nose and I hate salty scents(that's why I hate Womanity)
Fortunately after a while fruits go away and salt calms down and I start to notice heliotrope which gives it a soft floral powderyness
Dry down is a very creamy, warm, deep and rich scent.a combination of amber, heliotrope, vanilla, cashmere wood and yes, some creamy coconut but not as coconuty or salty as the opening.I can also detect slightest hint of jasmine and just a faint touch of sea's salty, watery freshness
All in all it opens as a bit cloying salty-coconuty-fruity-vanilla but dries down to a nice, creamy ambery-woody vanilla, heliotrope which is pleasant.considering it's reasonable price it worthes waiting an hour to settle down
Sillage is huge at first but reduces to soft to moderate as it develops.longevity is 4-5 hours on my skin
I'd prefer it to be much sweeter, more gourmand or same as it's dry down all through it's life.as it is it's a dislike in first phase and a faint like in drydown. It's a pity as I like this bottle,Police is one of my favorite brands and vanilla, coconut, amber, cashmere wood and heliotrope are among my favorite notes.Miss Beat could be a love for me just like Forbidden,Rose Blossom,Dark and Sinner but it's salty sea notes ruins it for me but I can see that it could turn to a signature for others who love this type of beachy scents
Edit: it gets very very woody in the late drydown. It seems like I can't like this one.but I will keep it just because It looks cute beside other Police skulls

Tested it today and I know that I have to have it
I like police perfumes.I love forbidden.I like rose bloom and dark a lot.I even like DNA NYC,Passion and Sinner.I don't like To Be Queen but hubby loves it on me so all in all my experiences with this brand were all good.when I saw a new police perfume with notes like coconut, vanilla, amber, cashmere wood and heliotrope I couldn't wait to try it and it didn't disappoint
I need another test to be able to go through it's notes but even now I can definitely smell coconut, vanilla and something cashmere-like in it's drydown.
It's warm, creamy and sweet in a grownup way and finally settles down to something softly powdery and cozy
Such a warm scent definitely suits fall and winter but I mostly crave coconuty perfumes in summer so I have to wait and see how it acts in heat.longevity and sillage seem to be very satisfying,I expected nothing less from police
I know that a lot of people are going to hate it's bottle.yes it's weird but I now that I've collected couple of them, these colorful skulls sitting in a raw look funny
Police bottles look cheesy and are made off low quality materials but they usually smell great and have great performances and they're very cheap.I wish all other perfume brands would put more effort on the scent rather than bottle quality or advertisements.
BTW,I don't have Olympia so I can't really compare them but there's a salty sea note in Olympia's opening which I dislike.fortunately it's not present in Miss Beat at all

jayneybaby86

Wow I got the 40ml perfume for only £10.95 from all beauty!
This is a dupe for Paco rabanne’s olympea, it is absolutely beautiful. My mum has got olympea and I honestly cannot tell the difference between the two once they have dried down. Beautiful warm, sweet and creamy fragrance perfect for day or night and for any season.

AnitaHendricks

I like the individual notes but I don't like this composition. It's pretty synthetic to my nose. The cashmere wood and coconut notes are nice and deep but the other notes turn it more green and floral in a screechy way. It's better after a few hours but it's not for me.

JacquieDS

I went to test it again, I think those awful earphones are removable. Goodness,
The perfume is a fruity vanillish and dry down to woody musky scent, It is long lasting on me and quite prominent.
Forbidden, another one by Police is much nicer but somehow, sillage and longevity barely there on me. Maybe an old one I picked up.

For the Aussies, this is currently on special 125ml edt for $30. For that price, its a pretty good perfume.

JacquieDS

I tested this last night.
Its really nice, and on the buy list.
Longevity is good.
Police perfumes are a cut above celebrity's scents, and I don't mind celebrity scents at all, but Police perfumes came across to me as more complex and smells expensive.
