This is a very potent, long lasting version of Hypnotic Poison by Dior. What is the difference? Confetto is more about almond, is louder and does not work well with my body chemistry - I get some cardboard from it. Whereas Hypnotic Poison is more about creamy vanilla, more settled and slighty cloying. Somehow over any of them I prefer a cheap dupe (I am not supporting dupes of clones, but that on is an exception). Confetto however, had great performance.

Tinab81

Bought a bitty decant on the promise of Jordan almonds, which is a nostalgic smell for me. But alas I don’t get them here, and the disappointment might be skewing my opinion.

Anyway, I mostly get a green type of almond, sharp, with a vanillic undertone. The vanilla reminds me of the one in Kenzo Amour, so if you enjoy this, you might want to try that at the lower price point. The key difference being that the sharp almond scent is switched for a lactonic rice type note in Amour. It’s fine. I used to get compliments with Amour so my guess is this would be a compliment better if that’s your goal.

vinegarsyndrome

Almond cake batter, plus the flour you missed at the bottom of the mixing bowl. Airy, light, fine powdery, comforting, just gorgeous.

Magellan0101

Love this gem ...I must say that the drydown on ME, is very similar to Vanilla Fields..
Pretty expensive and my last perfume from this house came without a sprayer..who does that??
That said, it's really great. But, maybe, for the price and the need to find an atomizer, I might pass.

Datura-Darling

Adore this one... bitter almond, sweetened, and with a hit of expensive suntan lotions or a luxury skin moisturiser. I really adore this style of perfume , so it was a huge hit with me. Exactly what I woukd wish for with the sweet almond combined with a creamy lotion type of impression. This is a very composed and well put together scent that evokes a certain type of clean beauty. The almond, musk and vanilla here all play so well together to bring forth this pristine, smooth lotion type of scent with the cosy and clean feel. I LOVE it!

Hypnotic poison + suntan lotion

timmybils

People say this smells like hypnotic poison, which I don't own, but I have smelled and I like. I have a sample I put on and went to the gym. It's not overpowering sweet, very Unisex. I can see myself wearing this regularly will probably get a full bottle. Very bright and airy. Subtly pleasing like a nice subconscious scent that will attract people and they won't know why. Don't expect a lot of compliments people will just think you smell good. It's more like a pharamone scent. Not an obvious "he's wearing a fragrance" scent. 7/10

mirrorghost

yay, this smells a lot like hypnotic poison at the opening (if memory serves.) i get anise, almond and vanilla with a hint of musk. i think perhaps this one has a stronger anise note than HP? but i haven't tried HP in quite a long time. also i think HP has a subtle floral thing going on and this does not. (i really need to try HP again.) anyway, i love these notes so this is a solid like for me.

MaisonTess

Something sickening about the dry down. Very strong and stanky

TabledThoughts

A strange one.
Not your typical sugary sweet almondy confection.
Though not listed here there's an oakmoss note in the base that causes this to be quirky to my nose.

PR attempt to be edgy(?)

Bought a decant of this after finding people compare this a lot to Hypnotic Poison, which is very watered down nowadays. I didn't expect to find something equal to HP's character (which I find sultry and seductive), and I turned out to be right but still pleasantly surprised.
Confetto is very, very pretty. One reviewer below said that Confetto is Hypnotic Poison as a kid. I agree. To me, Confetto is a sweeter, more linear, more 'innocent' version of HP. That is not to say that Confetto is sugary-sweet. Although a gourmand fan, I can't stand cloying, excessive sweetness, and Confetto is just right.
I recently got a new bottle of HP after years of not using it and layered Confetto under it. Can still smell it on my clothes the next day. Definitely will buy a full bottle.

Zethre

This is lovely lovely. I get lots of almond and vanilla, quite creamy.
It is deceptively strong - at first spray I thought it was beautiful but delicate and not very loud - half an hour later and it had quietly filled the room!
Very expensive - and really very similar to Hypnotic Poison edt, though rather stronger

Akicia34

I tend to get tired of a perfume pretty often. This is the only perfume that I never seem to get tired of. I can’t get enough of it. It’s a beautiful candied almond scent. It last all day on my skin, especially when I use the lotion. A little goes a long way. I always get compliments when I wear Confetto. Please 🙏🏽 don’t ever discontinue this one.

gilbertsolorzano54

This is a slightly more masculine version of hypnotic poison.

ArsinoeHelena

Well this is as good as almond dominated fragrances get. Nice anise twist too. It smells of marzipan, delicious. I get something fruity here, which saves the scent being too cloying. You can tell high quality of the ingredients. No synthetic smell here.

Still, I have no desire to wear pure gourmands often, they tend to make me tired if I'm not energetic enough to tackle the sugar load.

This one works properly only in winter. I'd like the travel size, but the price tag is ridiculous. Sillage is modest, performance is moderate.

Chellyym

I am in love with this scent. It's not over powering.. yet it hits every time. It's delicious and oh so similar to my first love Lira from Xerjoff. I recently had each on either arm and you can tell the confetto gives off a more natural scent. Like you're made of sugar, spice and some perfectly toasted almonds.

I will double cleanse in the shower. 1. With a vanilla base soup 2. With fresh cream from philosophy.
Spray with confetto + seal with baby oil. Perfect for every day and feels cozy and warm perfect for fall and winter.

Makes me feel sophisticated, sensual and a little spicy. I sprayed this on my skin and my clothes will smell of this until I wash it out. It could be weeks. Perfect for sleepovers with someone you want to remember you and smell you when you're not there.

10/10 everyday parfume

hancakes525

To me, this has a noticeable powdery black licorice vibe. Not a sweet gourmand as I expected. Definitely get the dry almond and a hint of the vanilla. Gave it a few tries but ended up not being for me.

gourmandnotes

I would not categorize Confetto a wholly gourmand per se, but I would throw it in the blurry, overlapping middle zone of milky, your-skin-but-better, musk zone that uses gourmand notes. If you are CRAVING for gourmand, it is unlikely you would be satiated by this. But if you're craving coziness however, you found a possible contender.

For me, Confetto is one of those perfumes where I start to enjoy it a lot more upon the dry drown, where it becomes softer and musky, anticipating it as a wonderful skin scent. I wore it fully the night before and was bewildered by it, asking myself questions: "What kind of woman/person would wear it? What's the attraction to this? On what occasion would this be worn?" etc.,. I woke up the next day wondering what that scent was because the lingering scent on my clothes was so intriguing, and I realized it was Confetto. Sheer, powdery-fluffy, cozy, nostalgic and juvenile in the sweetest way. The person in question wants to feel comforted, and feel a semblance of coziness. Not a complex nor a perfume with a "story"; it goes on like softly spiced, sweet almond lotion, and slowly melds with your skin to create a flirty musk with one self.

Enrium

Confetto is another simple but well-composed scent from Profumum Roma. I find their scents to be good-quality and natural-smelling, with impressive performance that belies their lightweight scent profiles. Confetto has a more cold-season scent profile - primarily almond-vanilla - but it is as feather-light as the "Acquas". However, despite falling in love with others from this brand, I confess myself underwhelmed by Confetto. I have been craving almond-dominant perfumes lately, but I find this unsatisfying compared to other contenders. The opening is pretty and as expected, but it quickly falls flat, becoming a one-dimensional shea butter scent.

Confetto opens with a vanilla-almond accord, smooth and sweet but not marzipan-like. It is not gourmand at all; to reiterate what has been said below many times, it really smells like almond-scented lotion. The anise adds a nice hint of sweet spice to the opening that complements the almond nicely.

It quickly becomes a shea butter scent, pleasant and subtle but ultimately disappointing for a perfume of this price. It smells exactly like body lotion. It remains like so until it fades, becoming slightly musky as it becomes a skin scent. Sillage and longevity are moderate, and it is a transeasonal daytime scent.

Confetto is a discreet, elegant, feminine-leaning scent that will appeal to plenty, but I like a little more from my perfumes. A non-gourmand almond-vanilla for people who like their perfume on the subtler end of the scale (or who want their shea butter lotion in expensive perfume form). 3/5.

HER30

This is not my usual. This is like an almond-y shea butter lotion or soap bar. It's clean, warm, slightly sweet. Incredibly nostalgic. Reminds me of Warm Vanilla Sugar lotion from Bath and Body Works but less sweet and it's not "edible" smelling. I normally steer clear of anything that smells similar to this - I'm not a clean musk, iris, or milky body lotion scent fan - but this one is just GOOD. I would wear this around the house to feel comforted, clean, cozy - it's not really a going out fragrance to me. It's one I would wear for myself. I see there is a Confetto body lotion which makes a lot more sense to me conceptually. It stays quite consistent and had mild projection, moderate performance. 3.5-4/5 for me because it's a nice fragrance, but I don't see it being super useful to me.

jillvee

I was disappointed by the suntan lotion/shea butter turn of the fragrance in a fairly short time. I was really hoping for a great almond gourmand but this isn't my cup of tea.

SheBubs

Dries down to Shea butter. Dior Hypnotic Poison is a far more interesting pick with a markedly better performance.

Violet28

Very nice and cozy scent. I've had a sample for months she tired it today - to my surprise I can see the oil on my skin so I know this will have longevity! It is very linear & the anise is nice but it's a little too powdery

gjeanba5

Is it true that Hypnotic Poison EDT has more vanilla & it’s sweeter than Confetto Profum Roma? Cause I’m considering getting both to layer together🥰

Also, has anyone tried Confetto Body Cream?

dlst08

A lovely uncomplicated blend of candied almond and candied aniseed, not too sweet or strong but with good longevity. I get the comparison to Hypnotic Poison, but this is entirely different in style - say a watercolour, low-profile version of HP, & much more natural-smelling.

EDIT: tried HP edt at duty free last week: I'm not sure, but I think the difference in impression is likely due to heliotrope, which makes HP feel thicker as it dries down, like a paste made of powder compared to the transparency, precision and linearity of Confetto, which has clear aniseed replacing the heliotrope. Aniseed is divisive, though, and HP is much cheaper, and not bad as a dupe. Wearing it just doesn't make me happy the way dabbing on my sample of Confetto does.

kikisdeliveryservice

unsurprising to me that i like this since it smells near identical to hypnotic poison for me! definitely a cosy warm and inviting scent, but hard to justify the cost when you can get dior's version for less. personally i wouldn't buy the full version, but the review below that says that layering hypnotic poison and confetto increases the longevity and projection is 100% right. it's still not enough to justify a full bottle purchase though.

amudrechenko

I loved this perfume. It's a different type of sweet perfume. Nothing like overly sugary Victoria Secret cheap scents, but rather a more complex, nutty, and spicy formula with hints of vanilla, powdery iris, overwhelming almonds that are gourmand-leaning and hot anise. This perfume is very direct, yet it's not blunt nor offensive. I highly recommend it for sweet- loving and feminine-loving perfume seekers, or those who want a fresh sweet fragrance with unique notes.

Adjr1087

What a pleasant surprise! I have been wanting to smell this one for the longest time. Being a fan as I am of Hypnotic Poison (my signature scent) I was convinced I was going to love this and I wasn't wrong. It is VERY similar to Hypnotic Poison, but without the florals and longevity amped to the most. It lacks the sweetness from HP, but it has the almond overdose that I love from HP. I now have both and I found that layering this with HP (I also use them by themselves) makes the longevity and projection much, much better. Hypnotic Poison by itself is gone after 4-5 hours on me, but with Confetto the scent lingers 12+ hours and I just love that!

olga_adriana

My first impression was expensive sunscreen and as it's drying down, smells like the notes listed. It's nice, but too expensive for me at 285 USD for 100ml!
I can't believe this has been around since 1996! it doesn't smell dated.

Agapi_Mou_Gluko

Confetto smells like the initial spray of hypnotic poison- licorice vanilla blast. And it remains this way. On the other hand, Hypnotic poison is sweeter and dries down to a root beer vanilla . I get less vanilla in Confetto and more of the almond and licorice. I would choose hypnotic poison between the two. More complex and more vanilla in HP.

Mahogany

Tried it at scent bar today. It smells like almond extract and licorice to me. It's unique, but I'm just not a licorice typa gal. If you want to stand out, this may be a good pick...but I won't be asking what you're wearing. And that's perfectly okay.

AlaskanAngel

This smells like HYPNOTIC POISON with less florals. It's nice. A bit too powdery for my taste, that's probably the iris. Reminds me of very expensive hand cream or highend sunscreen. Leans too "feminine" for me to wear but I would appreciate it on others. Classy, inoffensive, and more interesting than most mainstream fragrances. This could be a great signature scent.

Review of full bottle blind-buy. Decluttered.

Hartsy3

I think it's the anise that ruins this for me. On my skin, it comes through as an almost lemony, chemical smell. It is how I imagine a clever poison might smell: sweet with a hint of something toxic. The poisonous note hums in the back of your brain, signaling danger, but you don't realize it's there until it's too late. You've been drawn in by the sweet vanilla cream and almonds. The opening and base notes are fine, but that lemony middle note is a no-fly zone for me.

This is also a rather weak performer. Sillage and longevity are low. Not worth the high cost.

fyre92

Edit* this came before hypnotic poison so it’s the reverse I guess lol

fyre92

I had this for a couple years now. It has become sooooo much sweeter than hypnotic poison. Yes the dry down is vintage hypnotic poison with the strength turned all the way up. That beginning though is super pink fondant and sugar syrup.

MidnightEpiphany

I agree with the people who say this smells like sunscreen. But it is the most luxe, delicate, refined, powdery, airy sunscreen smell.

aviegravy

there is a horrible, disconcerting note of sunscreen in this.

allduygu

I really like it. (I am huge fan of profumum roma)
But if you have hypnotic poison it is enough. they are quite similar.
Maybe confetto is just a bit sharp, HP is a bit sweeter. they are on the same way.

lessthanzero

"An infusion of apricot kernels, bitter almonds, peach stones, or almonds; steeped in absolute alcohol, with burnt sugar, and the essence of select herbs and fruits"

^That's a description of the liqueur amaretto. It's also pretty much a dead ringer for Confetto. On my skin, it's incredibly boozy, and I'm surprised more reviews don't mention something similar.

It is very loud, but it doesn't say much; never really developing past its top notes. It's quite coquettish, and might be more interesting on a woman. It's a lovely smell - just a little flat. 3/5

marinejuana

this is the kind of scent Tim Burton characters would wear :))) I really love this scent it keeps a mystery inside

marinejuana

Candidate to be my signature scent for 2023! easy to wear easy to carry, fluffy and ladylike and such a visioner scent for 1996, I found it SOOOO much better than the niche scents of today. transparent gourmand is very goood description, Confetto name suits the scent perfectly as well, a very nice design, a classic, congrats to Profumum Roma !!!

Кирала

Just a quick review. I love this. I had a small bottle, did not wear it much, then a couple of weeks ago took it out again, and its a beauty. It reminds me of Loves Baby Soft but so much better. A sweet, powdery, almondy, with a little musk like note.

Lashtx43

I tried. I did. Wore it for a couple of days and it’s nice.. but it’s sunscreen for me. Couldn’t get past it.
Side note: I sprayed my daughter and she exclaimed..” oh I like this!!” I asked her if she’d like to borrow it and her answer was “sure, when I’m in the mood for sunscreen!” 🤣

desdemona7

This is my signature fragrance. From some of the reviews you might be discouraged from trying this, but body chemistry is everything. This is absolutely beautiful and very, very high quality. I tried HP and it felt synthetic and over the top, but this is smooth and the drydown is absolutely gorgeous. I just purchased my third bottle. If you like Guerlain’s Double Vanilla, then this is worth a try. Soft vanilla and anise that’s gourmand but not overly sweet. I wear perfume for myself, but it doesn’t hurt when you get complimented on how nice you smell on a regular basis. This is pricey, but you don’t need much, my first bottle lasted for 4 years, and two sprays last 24 hours! I highly recommend trying this.
Btw, this was created in 1996, so it preceded Hypnotic Poison.

ash.nguyen6

A more candied version of Dior Hypnotic Poison EDT. An easy gourmand relaxing type of scent. It does remind me of the smell of plastic dolls. Not worth the high price tag. Hypnotic Poison is better!

GizPop

A marzipan dough opening, hinting at something a little floral as well. Not a fan of the drydown on my skin in warm weather, where everything falls apart and you end up with a synthetic mess, possibly from the musk. Kind of disappointed in this one, as the opening was so gourmand and appealing.

rbalkris

The smell of childhood. The smell of marzipan confections. In a perfume. A simple mostly natural scent from Profumum Roma the scent is simple and linear with notes of nutty almond, aromatic anise, delicious vanilla, slight amber and synthetic musk. The feminine leaning perfume has moderate sillage and good longevity. Nothing hugely exceptional but very comforting and nostalgic. Enjoy!

Ansarit

This is really nice for both male and female in colder weather. This is one of those fragrances where you need to go easy on the trigger….. a little too much and it’s nauseating. 1-2 sprays is plenty

Overall - 7.7/10

MissMoon#07

Meh….I am a huuuge Almond gourmand lover / collector and thought with the notes, price point & percentage of oil contained within this would be the bomb of all gourmands. But it’s a big meh from me, sits close to the skin and disappeared within two hours, I know everyone’s skin chemistry is different so unfortunately it is a nope for me. Expected way more for the price and prestige.

bunnymusk

As others have voiced, this is the smell of those scented doll heads popular in the 80’s and early 90’s. Sweet and lightly powdered, synthetic, somewhere between sugar cookie and bubblegum, almond extract and licorice. It was introduced to me by the salesman as a beach scent, and I get the toasted-almost-lactic-coconut-adjacent sunscreen vibe, but it feels more gourmand to me. Plastic covered gourmand. Nostalgic, delicious.

rita.zaretskaya

It's powdery. Smells powdery, oily, like makeup. Maybe a slight sunscreen feel. To my nose I can't say it's very sweet. I can agree with the doll's plastic head comment.
Overall, it's a like, but I'm not sure it has enough stand out qualities for me to buy it. I also do think it *could* get cloying.

fauxmantis

This instantly smelled familiar, and I think it’s chamomile tea with almond milk. There’s something about chamomile that doesn’t sit right with me, and unfortunately it’s in here too, but otherwise it would be a very comforting scent

carmenandmonkey

Its like if Hypnotic Poison came out with a Fresh EDT. Weirdly, it also reminds me of peeling a mandarin orange at Christmas time, standing beside a real Christmas tree.

SailorV

Confetto is definitely very close to Hypnotic Poison EDT (not EDP!). It has the same rubbery, poisonous, bittersweet almond and vanilla. As a whole it's very sweet and kind of gourmand, but there is something intentionally plasticy about it that keeps it from smelling completely edible. The aniseed note nicely enhances the bitterness of the almond, while the vanilla and musk keep the base creamy.
I find Confetto fresher and fluffier than HP. And by this I do not mean that it's lighter, it really isn't, this is an extremely intense perfume that lasts and projects for an eternity. But I get a tart, airy note in this that makes the whole scent feel more uplifting and gives me a summery, happy vibe. I thought it smelled kind of fruity, so I searched this site for the word "fruit" to see if anyone else also got it, and I found an older review mentioning rhubarb. Yes! That's exactly what I get here, now I can't unsmell it! A sweet and sour phantom rhubarb note in a sea of vanilla and almonds. Delicious!

Typical for Profvmvm Roma this is a "What you see is what you get" scent. It doesn't take a lot of turns from the first spray to the final drydown. Vanilla is the longest lasting note that you will still smell a whole day later, when the other accords slowly vanish after many hours of wearing.
I like this a lot, definitely more than the famous Dior. Not quite a love for me but a very good one.

scnofthcrime

An almond cookie covered in powdered sugar. Or almond icing. Very sweet. Smells a little plastic/synthetic to me. I do see similarities to Hypnotic Poison, but I think Hypnotic Poison is overall a better fragrance without the artificial twang of Confetto. By comparison I get more vanilla in HP and more of a powdered sugar note in Confetto. Confetto is a tad lighter so some may feel this is better suited to warm weather. As it dries down more I get the anise note and this starts to smell like the love child of HP and Pink Sugar.

cemrelo

I totally agree that it smells like plastic doll head.lovely.

Leif

What a peculiar fragrance! I adore almond and vanilla. This is not what I expected, after looking at the listed notes. On my skin, this goes in a creamy-powdery direction; sort of like baby powder, pressed powder foundation or thick lipstick. In that respect, it reminds me a bit of Prada L'Homme after it has dried down, but these fragrances are not similar in any other way. I'm not sure why this goes so powdery, but my best guess is that it has something to do with a high concentration of amber and musk, to the point where the almond and vanilla seems to play a supporting role. This is a very strange, yet a sweet, gentle "comfort fragrance" for the colder seasons. Due to its powdery, lipstick-like qualities, I would say this leans in a feminine direction. Risky blind-buy for men! As a gentler, more feminine guy who enjoys this genre of fragrances, I would wear it! Im summary: I'm pleasantly surprised by this unique almond- and vanilla-based fragrance. The performance is fantastic; great value for money.

Edit: Another reviewer described this as "plastic doll head smell." Wow, what a great description! That's an incredibly accurate description of this fragrance.

this is not at all what i imagined. it's very very suntan lotion-y and almost smells like a shea butter coconut body wash. I know there's no coconut in this but just feels like there is. Kind of smells like beachy lines of different makeups/cosmetics. Overall, definitely not eorth the price at least to me. It's kind of too powdery. Lasted on clothing 24 h++ with an ok projection in the first 2 hrs, then moderate to subtle. It's not bad, just not my cup of tea. It's also very clean smelling to me which I was really surprised about 🤷🏻♀️

Mademoisellejaimie

This is not at all what I expected or wanted. It's very powdery. Like almond and confectioners sugar. Very demure and feminine. I wanted dark, sexy, intoxicating, almond extract/amaretto. No luck here. It's not bad at all and very long-lasting, but not worth the price tag for me. It's quite similar to Alaia Blanche because of the powdery almond note. It also reminds me of Kenzo Amour. Try that, they both are a fraction of the price and oh so similar.

ladyjb

The anise wrecks it for me.. Behind the lovely almond note lies a synthetic banana medicine and sunscreen

Liz-frag

Hypnotic Poison edt is man-eater french or italian woman in her 30’s. She is glamorous, bouncy hair, and very sexy.
Confetto is her, but as a kid. Her pretty mother is washing her hair with almond « petit marseillais » shampoo, puts on her some orange blossom fragonard lotion after the sun..
something about Confetto is childish and nostalgic of a mediterranean childhood,
It is very cute pretty and well-blended, definitely worth trying!

DrRosie

A friend of mine sent me a tester of this fragrance, after smelling it I had to have it. I ordered it the same day. I found my holy grail light vanilla fragrance. I love wearing this fragrance and pairing it with the body cream will be heavenly. I am in love with this superb fragrance!

perfumesniffer

I’m an almond fanatic. I’ve been wearing Hypnotic Poison EDT from the get. HP has been changed/reformulated and I’ve loved it less over the years, but it will always hold the top almond-oriental spot.

Confetto is a delicious almond scent. But it’s more straightforward gourmand than Hypnotic Poison. It’s kind of like the way Indult Tihota is all about vanilla + musk. I think Confetto is all about almond + musk. I do enjoy this scent but it’s too basic and gourmand for me to enjoy it all day long. Same way I feel about Tihota. Both are nice to smell but neither register as perfume for me. I need there to be more oriental elements, more complexity. Otherwise I feel like anyone smelling this sillage will think I’m wearing the latest (cheap) celebrity confection as opposed to a $300 bottle of Profumum Roma.

I do love Dulcis in Fundo even though it’s gourmand. That one slays me. I also love Battito d’Ali for it’s easy going clean-sweet quality. Ambra Aurea is an amazing badass raw ambery incense.

I still think Confetto smells delicious. I just can’t wear it in public and feel like a grown ass woman. For the record I had a bottle and used it entirely; mostly as a yoga pants around the house and bedtime scent. Took me about 10 years to finish it, but I did. 🙃

Jonmichael02302

Way too feminine for me. Wife loved it so worth the blind buy. Super sweet & everything a woman's fragrance should be. Guys DO NOT BLIND BUY THIS! I don't know about all these other reviews that claim this is "enormous" in performance, longevity and/or sillage... very VERY weak in my opinion & sits very close to the skin.

kokonose

Like an Amoretto Rum and Coke. It's sweet, but not saccharine. It's like a stripped down version of Hypnotic Poison (a good thing).

ptsau

Very nice nutty almond fragrance that’s not too sweet. Also love the musk that soften the gourmandish vibe. I always layer it with the Sel Marin and they smell fantastic together. Feels like I’m drinking a almond drink by the ocean. Sel Marin brighten up this thick nutty scent in hot weather. On its own, it’s more suitable for cooler weather because of its thickness. It’s performance is superb too. Last 12+ hours on my skin and days on clothes with great projection so mind the sprayer if you’re using it in warmer months. I only got the 18ml of it and I’m not even on 1/4 of it because I only apply a few spray at a time as I don’t want to smell too strong in high heat. I think I will get a full bottle of it if I also love it in winter and finish it by next summer.

Update: I finally used up my 18ml bottle and I missed it too much so I couldn’t resist to get a 100ml bottle. I use it all year round as I layer it with different fragrances in different seasons.

Alice...LikeWonderland

Smells extremely similar to Hypnotic Poison to me. Maybe a little cooler and perhaps a little more gourmand than "perfumey" in comparison. It's a lovely rendition of a candied almond but I wore my nose out on Hypnotic Poison when it was released so this is too similar for me to want a full bottle. It's very strong and has mucho longevity

katariina9

testing it for the first time, but its quite incredible how Confetto is re-playing the taste (yes, not smell) of almond granita, especially one we had couple of summers ago in Caffe Sicilia in Noto, probably the best cafe specialised on deserts in the whole Italy. Almond granita is the highlight of the place- intense, transparent, cool and beautifully fresh.

EDIT Having now tested it repeatedly, there is a freshness and coolness as well as edibility coming from aniseed. I really love the combo of prominent almond with anise and amber base, it makes it very slightly boozy and very nutty, plus adds a slight bourbon touch to vanilla. A very lovely gourmand. And performance is great (though soft and pillowy) for almond fragrance.

just received a sample and at the initial first spray that hit me, it was an AMAZING powdered almond donut type smell that I LOVED, but the more it sits, it turns kinda plastic dollhead type is smell =/ I REALLY wanted to love it as I've seen rave reviews and even considered getting another larger sample, but I DEF wouldn't pay $200+ for a whole bottle to just smell like a doll making factory. Pretty sure that's the Anise. If they would have left the Anise out, I would have immediately gotten another sample, but I don't feel like smelling like a brand new car. The sweetness is still kinda there and I like that aspect of it as it's very powdery, but that plastic doll head smell turns my stomach 3 take this with a grain of salt, as everyone's chemistry is different, but def consider getting a small sample and give yourself more than an hour to maul it over before purchasing a $275 fullsized bottle. DEF not a safe blind buy but def worth a try <3

Kellergirl

I had high hopes for this. But the sample I received from luckyScent is barely there. I can barely smell it, and it fades quickly. I also don't get any sweetness from this. It smells very generic to me. Disappointing.

kinksofnature

As @calesalad said, this is a 'transparent gourmand". That is the most fitting description I've seen. It's very light and perfect for those that don't want an intense gourmand.

Bubbles1964

Confetto is the sophisticated, classy older aunt. She prefers gelato over ice cream and dressing down with style; she wears fun sneakers and can still pull off a pair of jeans. Her niece, Hypnotic Poison, is a girl who goes to the nail salon once a week, orders pizza with everything on it and prefers texting over a phone call.

They may share similar DNA, but they are still miles apart.

SmellMyCheese

I was hoping for the mainly candied almonds others have mentioned but I got a lot of florals (I think tiare) and a coconut vibe in this fragrances heart even though they are not noted. This made it more of a beachy sunscreen type fragrance, so while I can tell this is high quality I was disappointed, I wanted something much stronger in the almond note.

blackw0lfx

Sugared Spiced Almonds. I also get a lot of the amber and musk. This does remind me of Hypnotic Poison however I like this better as it is more wearable. Unfortunately it is quite sweet and not to my personal liking; sweet like someone dumped a whole bag of smooth powered sugar on the table next to some almonds. I think for a woman over 30 and perfect for winter. I definitely think this is a date night scent.

AuroraRiver

It smells like candied almonds, powdered sugar, marshmallows, silk, bunnies, lace, a french patisserie with fresh made treats (I imagine Laduree). If pastel had a scent it would be Confetto. If a princess with a pet unicorn wearing a golden bridle had a scent it’s Confetto. Yet it’s not precious. It’s a magical enveloping confectionery hug from the universe. Divine. It’s what I wanted peghallions artemesia to smell like. Though it does have that same vanilla milk quality like artemisia. Just sooo much better and more delicate...more special and sweet. It’s one of my absolute favorite perfumes if you can’t tell.

Also meant to mention, there is definitely some lovely marzipan and a bit of anise. When I was little my mother and I would bake homemade Italian anise cookies. It reminds me a bit of that in the best way possible.

You can buy a sample at lucky scent. I highly recommend any gourmand lover to try Confetto. It’s love at first sniff. A masterpiece.

algerianlila

I am getting Hypnotic poison and sunscreen and it’s smells fabulous! I can’t stop sniffing my wrist and such an addictive juice 🥤 Not sure it’s worth the $ though

kristylynn

This one is so sweet it stings my nose. Not something I see myself wearing.

Marissaluvsscents

Sugared almonds and a side of vanilla milk with a black licorice straw. So creamy and comforting. A little more oomph than a skin scent, but through the hours wears as a warm vanilla second skin.
This is the original, as it came out before hypnotic poison. A new favorite of mine. Love.

Vanian

I see lots of the comments below compare it to Hypnotic Poison, yes, this it true imo, too. But, I just spotted that Confetto has been created in 1996 (as stated above in the description), whereas Hypnotic Poison has been created in 1998. So, which one looks like which one is obviously a different matter. I used to wear Hypnotic Poison after its release in 1998 for a few years non stop. Then, I changed to different fragrances and somehow left it behind, until recently when I thought I wanted it back to bring some memories to me. And I did get the roller ball, but still wanted to discover some of the similar ones, therefore I created a thread in the forum asking for advice. One of the recommendations was Confetto. Yes, got a sample and it is a wonderful discovery. Needles to say that I loved it from first sniff and needles to say that this might be might my next purchase. I now want to wear them both Confetto and HP side by side, just to see how differently they develop on my skin and will come back here to write more about this olfactory experience. Confetto has monstrous longevity on my skin even a few drops from the sample vial seems stay 'forever' and not fade. Confetto thank you for now for bringing such a dear memories to me, although I haven't worn you but Hypnotic Poison at the time, wow, more than 20 years ago, come to think of it...💘

MrsPoke

This perfume has just become my signature scent! I am completely obsessed with it. I’m picking up the sugared almonds, vanilla, and anise. It’s so sexy and comforting. Previous reviewers compared Confetto to Dior’s- Hypnotic Poison, so I did a comparison and while they do smell similar, HP has a metallic-like sharpness to it that I don’t get with Confetto. I think if you like HP(edt), you’ll absolutely love Confetto.

Mandystake1

Oh Confetto!! This is the scent I’ve been searching for the past year or two!! I’ve ordered over 50 samples from luckyscent the only ones I’ve actually purchased were Vaniglia de Madagascar and Fleur Nocturne. This is my next FB!!! I can’t get enough of the almond/amber concoction it isn’t super sweet on me either which I love a lot of scents turn powdery/floral this does not . It also lasts like 6hrs at least . However this perfume is not really to “get noticed” or please anyone but yourself IMO... My husband said ,”meh, too much vanilla” I laughed bc it doesn’t have any vanilla but yes it’s creamy and gourmand in the absolute best way!! He liked it more after a couple hours I will
Add... I loved it so much I can’t imagine being without it there’s nothing else like it in my collection! I also have “Girl of Now” bc I love almond and there’s no comparison really . GON is better on clothes and a lot stronger, more of an earthy/floral (on me)...
Confetto is pure Almond/Amber/Vanilla with that spice tickling your nose in the background from the Anise . I wouldn’t pinpoint Anise if I didn’t know it was there I’d just say Warm Spice.
This also reminds me of a latte with Cinnamon and whipped creme with some Almond syrup in it ,watching the snow fall in a cashmere sweater eating a slightly toasted sugar cookie on Christmas morning! It is that good that it really sparks feelings of warmth and the Holiday season in general! Must try for gourmand lovers or Almond aficionados!!! Sample first tho bc it’s pricey!!

I was introduced to this by a fabulous SA in Harrods and I loved it. Purchased it on the spot. But then I got home and I found it too masculine, so I let my husband use it. I tried it out again in June and I’m in love again. I like wearing it in the summer and I like it on my husband for all other seasons. It’s a little plastic but I find that DNA to be present in all of Profumum Roma perfumes. It must be what helps them last so long. I talking beast mode in lasting power and projection. I know I turn heads when I wear this. It just wafts this fresh, anise, creamy vanilla. Almost tropical, a little cozy but still a little clean. Like a boutique hotel in Miami. What is that amazing smell? It’s not perfumey, it just good.

Pixiedust2

I don't hate it, but it's not what I thought it would be. I was worried about the fennel, but I don't even smell it on my skin. The almond is there is the background, very faint. Overall this is a sweet amber-musk. Reminds me of warm skin on a hot summer day. I dare say it's beachy!! Totally unexpected. It's very pretty but I'm not getting confetti almonds, which is what I was hoping for. Another almond that doesn't jive with my skin chemistry.

Dove01

So beautiful! Honestly, you could blind buy this with total confidence - IF - you love almonds, iris, vanilla and creamy, slightly spicy, sexy, delicious and utterly hypnotic fragrances. Gourmand for sure, but not overwhelmingly so. I adore this. I’m so picky. But this has surpassed all expectations of an almond and vanilla fragrance. I have spent ridiculous prices on other niche brands - but this is totally worth every single penny. It’s sweet but not sickly, it’s sexy but doesn’t shout, it’s distinctive but not unwearable. A masterpiece. ❤️

LadyIva

A friend sent me a refill of this fragrance, in a cute bottle with purple butterflies. The scent inside is not my thing, although it is more interesting than many other gourmands. The interesting thing is the addition of anise to the standard fare of almond, vanilla and amber. When I was a wee girl and had a sore throat, my mum used to give me some hard black sweets with anise, to help ease the discomfort. Well, Confetto smells exactly like those sweets! While I do enjoy the mixture of anise and sugar, I wouldn’t be willing to pay Profumum Roma prices to end up smelling like throat pastilles...

calesalad

Transparent gourmand. The almond is slightly bitter and powdery while the anise is the star. Unlike other anise or licorice based perfumes, this one is not cloying. It sings softly in a corner rather and sticks close to skin. A great gourmand for someone who doesn't like sweets too sweet.

dcjimr

Just received my sample of this and it’s everything I dreamed it to be. Vanilla, almonds, amber, and just a hint of anise. I’m also detecting a slight cacao accord. It projects sufficiently for my purposes because I’ve been getting wafts all morning. This will be my next FB purchase.
Update: I purchased the travel spray and found that for some reason the scent was not as good as the sample I had. I know that Profumum is known for its high concentration of perfume oil, but this smells heavily of ambroxan or something. It's not bad, it's just not the love I thought it was. It smells sort of designer-ish to me.

Kots_Tanya

This fragrance is very clean, fragrances soap kind of clean, to me it smells like out of shower soapy clean skin, soap that had very sweet strong fragrance. It’s nice but I’m not sure if it’s the price worthy. It’s a bit powdery and does remind me a little of Valentina poudree. But this one has more vanilla more sweetness to it, more depth.

candy_hearts_dc

Walking back to our apartment in Cannes this evening behind a woman who smelled so incredible I had to ask her what it was she was wearing. It was confetto. I agree it smells similar to Dior hypnotic poison, but this is much less heavy in my opinion.., does anyone know where I can source this in the uk, or something closer to this than HP ?

giakerr

I don’t have much to add that hasn’t already been said here (the hypnotic poison comparisons are apt). Just want to applaud this one’s longevity- my skin typically EATS perfume, so I was impressed with how this one lasts and lasts!

Messner8850

Tried Confetto from a 1ml sample.
Initially there are elements of sweet cake batter and candy, much like several other PR's I've tried, but not much almond for me unfortunately.
After 1/2 hour, the Anise note? starts coming through which to me suggests mint. The Mint lingers for a couple of hours then lessens with a dry vanilla scent coming onstage with Mint still hanging in.
Reminded me of old, dry sticks of Mint gum left forgotten.
I was surprised and maybe disappointed by the overall Mintyness but that's why samples are so necessary.

Ansarit

Notes- Jordan almonds soaked in vanilla and amber with anise in the background. It’s sweet but not too sweet, it leans a bit more feminine but a man could pull this off in winter /fall easily.. For a women this would be a perfect wedding scent. For a man this would be a great special occasion scent. Wouldn’t recommend wearing this with a T-shirt. Scent- 9/10

Performance- this juice is beast mode without a doubt. Two sprays and you’re good for a full day. More than 4 sprays and you’re going to choke someone out. Performance-10/10

Overall- a very simple, but tasty high quality scent that will garnish you with attention

avierra93

Vintage HP with green anise punch. I’d like to layer this with the current HP EDP and see what happens

Cherry_Darling

I got a decant of this with a smudged label and no way of knowing notes. So I gave it a go and arrived at "rhubab" as the main note :D I even thought of Pulp as something that has a similar rotten fruity vibe to this. Boy was I wrong. I did however spray Kenzo Amour next to it as it also had similarities to that. However much different side by side. Kenzo is definitely plastic doll's head powdery...this is much more refined, but I do smell a twist of something fruity and pulpy in there. Maybe the anise note is confusing my nose...or the gooey sweetness? Loving it though - very rich:)

adrienn99

interestingly my first impression was that it had some similarities with Kenzo Amour. I see what people mean when comparing it to Poison as well, but the way I remember it HP was much louder, spicier and skanky. Maybe Confetto is somewhere in between Amour and HP on the dirty/spicy vanilla continuum?

GRAF

First of all this is not a strong scent. I was expecting something different as their fame is all about longevity and quality and this was my first experience. The scent is completely feminine from start to the end. Decent but nothing groundbreaking.

b.gracious

Scent - vanilla soaked almonds.

Season/Time of Day - I prefer to use this one in the colder months, during the day.

Projection - I did get noticed, I didn't get a compliment.

Longevity - I get 12hrs consistently.

craftymaya

I had to try this, just reading the reviews and because I love Hypnotic Poison. Confetto is indeed beautiful, really unisex in my opinion. I get a lot of anise but a kind of "green/medicinal anise" which turns me off (same smell as a French bottle of alcohol named "Pastis"). Too much of it... I think it is taking over the creamy almond/vanilla combo, and that is why I won't buy a full bottle.
Longevity is 9/10
Sillage is just ok 5/10

I am a fan of Hypnotic Poison, so PLEASE, there is maybe a slight similarity, but NOTHING to compare with Dior's master piece!

;)

The initial blast of anise was quickly followed by fluffy vanilla and almond. Then overwhelming mint. Smells spot-on like cleaning out your purse and sticks of gum have been tumbling around in there for months amongst a compact and a few loose nuts.

desdemona7

Absolute gourmand heaven without being too sugary or syrupy. The almonds, anise and vanilla are perfectly balanced. It's expensive but worth every penny, my bottle lasted 4 years, and 2 sprays last for two days! Extremely good quality with the best, somewhat oily ingredients. Which to me is indicative of the best niche product. Btw,the whole Profumum line is top notch. This is definitely a compliment generator. Loooove this. 10/10

klonopincandy

Perfumes like this are why I sometimes hate myself for ordering luckyscent samples. I already have hypnotic poison, love it, have tried many "dupes", none have ever surpassed HP, but it's fun to explore different "versions" of scents I really like. So I thought I'd be safe to try such an expensive scent just for fun and not and up "needing" it. Nope. Wrong. This smells so much like HP, but like the ORIGINAL formula, not the reform! :D Needless to say, I want a full bottle already.

blankamik

Sweet sweet beauty. I bought it for my wedding in Mauritius and it stood up to the heat very well. 1-2 sprays got me compliments around the resort hours later.

Fun fact #1: I bought it from supplier who just got a fresh batch - the juice had a yellow color. I was a little sad because I thought having a picture of a pink wedding fragrance would be so cute. I went back to check with the shop and they said it needs to sit for a few weeks to get its pink colour. It started turning pink right after the big day and now it has its final hue. I forgot about the picture anyway.

Fact #2: I got two compliments on two consecutive nights from two different people which sounded pretty much the same: Oh you smell so nice... Is it hypnotic poison? :) Somehow people do get that impression.

D&G Dolce Garden (2018) is extremely similar to this, just for your information.

Fragrance -Confetto Profumum Roma
Bottle from - 2015

I kinda love Profumum Roma.Confetto is a delicious,warm,
gourmand, sweet and comforting blend of vanilla and sugary almond with a nice touch of clean musk and with a wisper of licorice flavor from a bit green and moderatly fresh anise.
This fragrance is in the middle of the road between being in love and being comfortable. It has some similarities to Hypnotic Poison by Christian Dior.

Longevity - 10/10(11+ hours)
Silage/Projection - 9/10(heavy projection and silage for the first 3-4 hours)
Weather -best in spring, autumn and winter.
Age - 23+
Compliments - 9/10
Scent - 8,5/10

Main notes according to me - vanilla, almond, musk, amber, anis.

The drydown is more or less the same like the opening and I get some almond, vanilla, spices and musk.
Confetto is a little bit linear scent but in a good way.

Emotions -warm,intoxicated,seductive,comforting,delicious,love.

Occasion -for more or less any ocasion, perfect for romantic evening, dates and nights out.

You'll get compliments with this fragrance

Edee

I have got to admit that I have never liked the smell of almond in most perfumes. Maybe it is the addition of the vanilla and musk that makes this the best smelling almond perfume that I have ever smelled. It has this sweet creaminess to it that is so cuddlesome, but yet sexy. Tried a sample first and then a full bottle. This is something I want to wear whenever I want to feel really clean and polished, yet soft and sexy. This is just so good.

june7rose

Hypnotic Poison walked out of the Sephora on the first floor, and took the elevator all the way to the penthouse, losing all that headache-inducing tuberose along the way. Very nice. Similar to Cara, but I'm gravitating toward that one. Also: according to Luckyscent, this features sugar almonds, but no official vanilla.

CasuallyFragrant

One of my favourite perfumes!

OMG, not only is this the most delicious smelling almond vanilla, this scent lasts all day long. 12+ hours. And prepare to get compliments! Lots of compliments from both men and women.

Sugared almonds. Almond cookies with icing sugar. These images will float in your mind while you wear Confetto. Be careful not to eat your arm up or shirt on where you sprayed! Lol.

I have seen some comparisons made to Hypnotic Poison and Mmmm... Personally,, I find all three different. HP and Mmmm have Sandalwood, Confetto doesn’t. And on me Confetto lasts twice as long as HP.

Confetto is expensive but worth every penny! And I’ll definitely repurchase this perfume again.

wxmath

After another wear, this is not a sweet fragrance on my skin, not like some others I have. I get the vanilla and almond but the background/drydown is more spicy, not sweet. Great combo and bravo for another great fragrance from this house.

broomflower

Unlike many perfumes that go for a gourmand by creating a "baker's paradise" kind of smell, the confetto is all about an assemblage of the pre-bake materials: rolled almond, crushed anise, bottled vanilla. This perfume hugs the skin, flirting around your nose, giving you glimpses of liquorice and amaretto. While not my usual smell profile, I would wear this over other gourmand scents because I prefer food smells that have not been baked in, ie. don't remind me of how hungry I am. Instead, confetto reminds you of the glamour of the kitchen by returning you to the market place, reminding you of the need to choose the right ingredients, to think about cooking as a process of small steps, the discreteness of the elements, their distinctness. More anise would be welcome.

lucifera

gorgeous longlasting dupe for dior pure poison imo! love it! not that cheap unfortunatly..certainly worth the price.

gorgemand

Absolutely intoxicating and beautiful for summer. Confetto tells a story. Initially thought it smelled too reminiscent of sunscreen on me, Banana Boat-like! Which I found so strange. But soon the anise and bitter almond cut through the sweet which initially feels so enveloping. It is a magnetic almond too, feels like an aura. Confetto then dries down into a very fine, light musk. The amber is mature and sophisticated. Something I could wear all summer long. Profumum delivered again. Last I sampled was their Ichnusa which is a green, unripe fig + leaf masterpiece.

beccab5o4

Confetto is delicious and a total cure for my sweet tooth. This is sugary + almond + vanilla’d delight that lasts forever on my usually perfume-devouring skin. The anise is just a little pinch as it would be in a perfectly balanced confection. I love every single morsel of Confetto - even the name of the perfume is deeply satisfying to my palete. It is so scrumptious. This is something I would like to wear while I am vegging out and relaxing around the house with my favorite people. I can’t wait to sample this in the colder months when I am suffering from seasonal affective disorder ;) This perfume doesn't make you think or be moved in the way that some fragrances do, it only comforts.

wxmath

Love this fragrance, can't gp wrong with almond and vanilla. It is one of my new favories from this perfume house. Sillage is moderate, which is ok as you wouldn't want a beast with almond/vanilla. Longevity is good. I can see wearing this day or night, formal or casual. I'd grade this a sold A for sure.

landshark321

Confetto is definitely one of Profumum's offerings that caught my eye the most when looking at its note breakdown and hearing some of the buzz about it.

The first descriptor must be that it's sweet---almond and vanilla dominate my experience of it. The second descriptor has to be that it's feminine. Confetto doesn't walk the line between masculine and feminine so evenly like a vanilla-dominated fragrance but rather leans toward the powdery, cotton candy, candied almond vibe. Anise provides a tempered bitterness but it's little match for the sweetness of the vanilla and candied almond that are most noteworthy.

Performance is, as expected, very good for a Profumum Roma fragrance, but Confetto is simply a bit too feminine for me, even with my love of sweet and gourmand fragrances. Surely I'd prefer to be smelling this on someone else while knowing it is not quite versatile enough to work well for many men. Slightly enjoyable but not something I'd wear again.

Farouhaa

Save your hard earned cash and buy a bottle of 'Forbidden' by Police instead which is even better. I love Confetto but Forbidden is a tad sweeter, last just as long and costs a fraction of the price.

Baseeta

Sometimes you wake up craving uncomplicated, warm, non sticky sweetness, and unconditional comfort, and sometimes the perfect sample arrives in the mail. I've read a lot of comparisons to Dior Hypnotic Poison, and I can really see this, but IMO, Hypnotic Poison was (is) more cloyingly sweet. (Don't hate on me for saying this. DHP was my signature until I got pregnant). Confetto has more of the musk I crave, with none of the headaches or nausea, making it more similar to Ava Luxe Vanilla Musk than DHP, but as usual, i digress. Today I needed comfort, a very specific comfort, and I found it in In Confetto Profum Roma.

123velvetrose

As a hypnotic poison lover who struggles with it's lasting power I thought this would be a great replacement. I first tried a little sample from lucky scent and I thought it was amazing and almost to good to be true. I then went for a 10ml decant and I'm glad I did before going for a full bottle. It's still lovely but will never be as nice as HP. Yes it has better lasting power but that's it. Sometimes you need to experience a perfume with the atomiser before you can tell what it's really like.
It's basically HP but not as sweet, better lasting power and quite plain in comparison. It is a beautiful scent but it's not a replacement for hypnotic poison.

pimpy

Simply wonderfull long lasting dreamy fragrance. I love almost all Profumum Roma scents. I have 5 of them. Vanitas, Soavissima, Arso, e Acqua di sale. Confetto is angelique but in the same time sparkle, it make me up.

Madrona

This is going to sound horrible but on me this smells like old orange peels that have been sitting in the trashcan for some time. Being a massive fan of Hypnotic Poison I had high hopes for this, but it just doesn't work for me.

EDIT: Two hours of walking in the rain wearing my synthetic leather jacket later the shriveled orange peels have dissipated leaving something vaguely vanillic and almondy in the borderlands between Dior Hypnotic Poison and Reminiscence Dragée. Not bad, but practically a skin scent.

Shwets

I have been dying to try this and now I have!! So my verdict on how it compares with hypnotic poison....

Confetto is very similar. It is less sweeter by say 50% less vanilla. The scent is otherwise spot on. There is that root beer or anise like note still present but appears more so in confetto. Definitely has good lasting power and is stronger. Sillage is better but I prefer hypnotic as it's more smoother to my nose (strange as I thought it would be less than confetto from what I've read).

blake.lee

Hypnotic Poison with way less spice and a million times more wearable. It has the same plasticky, almond note too which I happen to like, but less of the root beer fizz of HP. I really love this fragrance! Creamy, fluffy, delicious almond with just enough anise to keep it from being gooey. I feel like it's the love child of delicate and simple Lea and the brash and heavy Hypnotic Poison.

Chelsea1605

This is just incredible. Yes the opening is reminiscent of Hypnotic Poison but it has something completely unique about it. Sweet almond and vanilla with a musky dry down. Get me a full bottle please.

Saaga

I gave this a fair chance since everyone seems to love it but it just doesn't smell nice to me. All I get from start to finish is anise and a hint of almond which creates the same kind of playdough smell as in Hypontic Poison. No vanilla at all which is disappointing since vanilla is one of my favourite notes. The longevity is great and sillage moderate.

Tapinview

Oh. Thought I didnt need it because I had Hypnotic Poison. Yah thanx u guys....not....And even from my memories of the original HP, this just blows it into the reeds. It is a female frag in my opinion and being an Old lady I'm very sensitive to the masculine image in fumes....so your mileage may vary.
It is not over sweet like the barf inducing modern Guerrlanns.
It is lifted upon spraying by a brilliantly judged anise. The white sucrose thing that overwhelms modern Gs is treated as a fleeting top note. There is gorgeous almond and a true vanilla. It feels more modern than the amazing Allessandro. Totally drool worthy, high quality. Yes, if you want a candy perfume, and yes, I do, this is IT. But it is the candy in a Michelin restaurant, not the petrol station.
Roll on Profumo, you rule.....:):):)

Delicoux

Delicious, robust vanilla, anise and almond concoction.
I love Italian perfumes, confident, loud and stunning.
Need a lighter hand when you apply, as it takes a little while to warm up on skin (leaves a oily residue sometimes) and then it's BOOM! yes that's me that smells so good in da room!!

Elokitty

Same direction than Hypnotic Poison !

catsngunsnyarn

black licorice, baby powder, and vanilla. it has a bit of the Necco Wafer tinge i get from Dolce Acqua.

zimmer73

Sweet, creamy and fudgelike...but allthough a perfume with a bit depth and sexiness...
My man loves it, and that is a extra bonus ;)

Lito2

For me it is a perfume of the old school.
These fragrances it is since you are arranging strikes you, and there is no room for the rest of the olfactory treasures. I never fails, and although I am him terribly unfaithful the day that I feel should be the! and the effect is incredible, both in myself and in my environment. Those scents that you find unknown people inhaling puffs of it is...
Either you like it or hate it

ANGELICA07

This is what Hypnotic Poison should have been (even if I would like it to have a little more vanilla).

mary jane

I' ve already reviewed the perfume below I just wanted to add that it was launched in 1996 not in 2006 ie. 2 years before HP Poison.

Hellita

Yesterday I was meeting three of my girlfriends and I wore 1 spray of Profumum Romas Dulcis in Fundo (on my chest) and 2 sprays of Confetto (on the back and front of my neck). The instant after they gave me a hug two of them said: Oh gosh, is that a new perfume? It smells divine!

That's what I mean guys. This stuff just draws people in! And those are not the only comments I've received after I bought Confetto a short time ago.

Confetto is a compliment-getter for sure!

Hellita

I've been searching high and low for Confetto, to be able to try it, and by pure coincidence I found it in a small niche perfumery right here where I live! I'm in heaven!

Firstly, I want to thank you @mary jane below, for giving this glorious review of Confetto, making me curious to hunt it down in the first place. THANK YOU! And because mary jane has done such a wonderful and thorough review here already, I just have to say that I agree with every word.

I already knew beforehand that Confetto was as good as made for me because of my love for Hypnotic Poison. And yes, they are related imo, but having said that: Confetto is SO much more than Hypnotic Poison. Better quality, more rounded, richer, cleaner - meaning pure almonds, sweet, magical almond heaven caressed by vanilla, musk and amber. I can't tell there's anise on my skin, but I'm sure it plays an important part in the composition.

On my skin it's like sweet, luscious marzipan and it's not even close to being sickening imo. It is down right gorgeous. I immediately knew I had to have it. I couldn't have left the store without buying it even if I tried. I was spellbound!

If you already love Hypnotic Poison, imagine the heavenly dry down times a thousand. And to you who find HP sickening, go ahead and try this as I think this is easier to wear. This magic potion is worth every.single.penny and it lasts forever! The best longevity of a fragrance I have encountered so far (and I've tried many). It's been hours since I first sprayed it, and it keeps getting better and better. Still going as strong as when I first applied it. It's oil based, so it simply melts and morphs into the skin smelling stronger as it's getting warmed by the blood running through your veins.

After I left the store I sat down on a bus (wearing confetto all over). There was a mother and a daughter sitting next to me. All of a sudden the daughter said to her mother: "somebody smell sooooo delicious in here" and I sat there with a big smile, all giggling inside, because I KNEW it was me!

Confetto, my new found love! I'm blessed that we finally met! And from now on you'll be my little secret... I'll never tell (people outside of Fragrantica that is) ;)

jedrzejowskia

Dior Poison without the Jasmine? Gimme!!!!
My head doesn't do Jasmine, I've tried to ween it in a few times but no. Any Jasmine, even the smallest hint in any frag takes over and all I smell is Jasmine and boom: Headache.

This is almonds, my favourite healthy snack, they're toasted slightly with a bit of sugar. Some of them are just fresh and there is also a bit of almond butter smell, the one mixed with vanilla pod. Simplicity at it's finest and it smells healthy!!
. M-M.
SOOOOOO expensive though. I will have to wait a few months and pine for this fragrance a good while first.
Thank you Bloodlust :-) Your review encouraged me to try this!
I don't own a car, nor do I know how car wax smells but maybe that would be a cheaper alternative, if so, then maybe it would be a good dupe to wear, LOL
:-D

I was dying to be a huge fan of this! But I remain un-impressed. I'm sure this scent is SOMEONE's best gourmand, so definitely sample for yourself!

On my skin, Confetto is ALL almond, ALL the time. A sickly, rubbery, bittersweet almond. It's literally one half of Hypnotic Poison; The bitter almond opening, without the thick, luscious jasmine, fruits and woods.

The exact scent of this fragrance is 100% identical to the solid wax that you use to shine your car. I am shocked at how accurate that comparison is - hopefully it's only my chemistry!

I am a really big fan of this one. Usually when I get an expensive perfume to try I end up deciding only a decant would be fine enough, but I want a whole bottle of confetto! This is favorite material for me honestly, I am holding my breath because I am saving up for a new car.
I agree with the comparisons that have been made to hypnotic poison and the old formulation of BBW warm vanilla sugar a little bit. Although Confetto is still it's own unique animal, too almondy to be BBW and not spicy enough to be HP.
If confetto could be an animal it would be a floppy stuffed animal! The fragrance is soft, smooth, cuddly, snuggly, warm, powdery, child like, and sweet! At first spray I also get that buttercream frosting sweetness, that fades into almonds, powdered anise, and a warm sweet vanilla glaze amber heart. There is something just a little bit clean about it too in it's dry down, something that reminds just a tiny bit of tide detergent! Which I know is so strange but I detect it on an almost subliminal level.
Sweet, soothing, comforting, warm, snuggly, bliss!

When I got in this niche perfume house in Germany, this summer, my personal heaven on earth, I really had no idea where to start with so I asked the lady there to treat me with some gourmands! The first one she sprayed on me was CONFETTO and after this first spray all the other perfumes I tried for the next two hours I stayed there, came second best! CONFETTO had won my heart!

My first impression of it, without having any idea of the notes, was... delicious praline wafers.Consequently I asked if there was any cocoa or hazelnut in it. But no, my guessings were wrong, it was a bitter almond combined with anise that gave this ambery vanilla a twist and also prevented the smell from being sickly sweet. This perfume is like an almond veil that surrounds you for hours. And while it starts beautifully and intensely the development of the scent on the skin is even more heavenly, it becomes creamier and it also develops a powdery feeling.

Now, while I usually avoid to compare perfumes in my reviews and prefer to describe the scent on its own, I feel that I have to spend a part of this review to the association being made with Hypnotic Poison of Dior. Yes, its true, there is a similarity between them. BUT, this is such a better-made blend in terms of quality. I dont know where to start, the smooth, sleek texture of the juice, the creamy quality of the almond in it, the anise which gives a sparkle to this scent, the depth and warmth.. these are all aspects of Confetto that Hypnotic Poison fails to reveal.. at least that is my opinion, also let me add that I never really liked HP while I LOVE Confetto!

Longevity of Confetto: till the next day of apply. Magical sillage, everytime I wear it people around me comment on it!

So happy with this joyful purchase! Worth the money!

I have tried several scents of Profumum Rome and almost all have this massive dose of sickly sweet. It might appeal to girls as young as 14 years old.

I really wanted to like this after reading all the reviews. I for one am big on gourmand fragrances and the almond, vanilla and star anise notes sounded so intriguing. Unfortunately the reality was far less appealing and just reminded me of bug spray.

Arabian Knight

Milky almond and anise layered with a soft, playful vanilla and musk. Sweet without being garish or immature.

This is like a pearly, satin-clad signorina. Charming, fun-loving and sophisticated. I can see this being worn by a bride to her wedding just as much as on a younger girl.

Lovely.

Adorable! I love it:-) Can't stop sniffing the inside of my arm where I sprayed a test from the perfume shop some hours ago!... Nr 1 on my got-to-have-list!

I bought it. Cannot ware any other perfumes now!...they are to light, alcoholic and nondimensional in comperassion with Confetto wich I find rich, deep, oily in to the skin, warm and longlasting:-)

This must be how a real genuin perfume i supposed to be like!

Beauté_Orientale

On me opened with very strong amber, not too sweet, not gourmand.

desdemona7

Absolutely beautiful! Soft but at the same time powerful in a subdued way. Love the longevity of the almond and vanilla without feeling that I'm wearing desert. Lasts a very long time and is well worth the $$ since the bottles are 100ml. My favourite!

I just want to say that if you visit the Profumum website you will learn that this scent was already launched in 1996. So it really came before Hypnotic Poison ;)
And I think this one is so much better!
It smells like almond vanilla pudding, very nice and comforting. And a little will go a very long way...

Honestly, I dont find Confetto similar to HP. Confetto is such a wonderful liquorice almond in a bed of soft spices which I find a little bit herbal sweet through the minty vanilla in the background. The longevity is just amazing. One of the best perfumes I have ever tried. Definitely a masterpiece and worth the expense..

Edit: I have never ever smelled a perfume as long lasting as this one. Now its more than 1 month since I have sprayed Confetto on a paper and its still smelling like crazy in my handbag :) yummy

No comparisons~just a straight review. Sweet almonds, laced with anise as first applied. It's alllllll about the almonds, and I love that! They play with every single ingrediant but always stay the focus. It starts off rich and oriental feeling but as it dries down it becomes more candied and softer. The musk really takes the edges off and creates an extrememly rich skin scent. The amber is very well behaved and adds a grown up depth without ever overtaking the whole composition. Amber can so often do that. This is perfectly balanced and a fall/winter dream. There is quite a difference in spraying and dabbing with this perfume. Turns out~I much prefer the spray. Surprisingly it wears lighter. If you want that rich oriental goodness to last and last definately dab on pulse points. The anise will stay prominant for hours. Confetto's longevity is stellar! She's very loyal and will stay with you for day into night. I love this perfume~and so does my husband!

Profumum Roma CONFETTO wafts unmistakably of Dior HYPNOTIC POISON. This does not mean that anyone attempted consciously to imitate it--and then charge more for the perfume? No, it means that when one mixes almond, vanilla, amber, and musk with some oriental spice, a similar effect is achieved--and it's a beautiful one indeed. Sweet comfort scents are always a good thing--above all, in wintertime. (-;

In a side-by-side comparison of these two creations, I find that CONFETTO, while sharing a touch of the Playdoh facet of HYPNOTIC POISON, lacks the somewhat overwhelming root beer quality. This perfume is less sweet and more woody to my nose, particularly in the drydown. While the Playdoh and root beer of HYPNOTIC POISON persist and even grow louder over time, the take-away of CONFETTO is less insistent and more subtle. I prefer this composition, which also bears similarities to Keiko Mecheri DATURA BLANCHE. I would place CONFETTO about half-way between HYPNOTIC POISON and DATURA BLANCHE, the latter of which pretty much lacks both root beer and Playdoh.

I would not, however, go so far as to characterize CONFETTO as a unisex scent. It still seems too sweet for very many guys to be willing to wear.

I'd rather say that COnfetto tried to reach HP Dior but didn't reached even half of it! btw Confetto is posterior HP which was lounched in 1998 ... this one from Pro fumun ROma is indeed quite nice, clean jasmine and some almonds, but it's like taking HP after a few hours, when al the bitter-almond notes are over; it's like a more demure and "bourgeoise" version of HP, and I don't see the point? All the sensual, bitter-sweet,warm notes that I so love in HP are like erased here, washed away, photoshoped?
All the notes that give HP it so unique personality and strong character are missing, and what's left it's a milder, insipid, tasteless copy ...

Labaloo

Mint, too. Truly, a lovely fragrance.

possumke

It opens with a slight "play dough" note, but soon it develops into a very cozy, not overly sweet, powdery vanilla/sandalwood scent that reminds me of my childhood, and for some reason it reminds me of "fresh cardboard", but in a GOOD way... I am sorry that I cannot explain this in a more sophisticated manner because it does deserve to be respected! The more it dries down the richer it becomes. A Well rounded composition, and long lasting too.

Gosha

What a darling among fragrances! It seems to be composed of all the essential elements - sweetness, sourness, bitterness, spiciness - all very subtle, immaculate and refined (but it's not all innocent, there is a touch of naughtiness in there!). It is intense, indeed, but in a dainty, silky way. Elegant excellence!
The bittersweet almonds are divine here and the anise (that I normally hate) adds an interesting, lightly sharp, but delicate accord.
While some scents with "gourmand" notes may create impression of edibility, in here it is almost as if it were the other way round - as if this was a super smooth, luxurious, and also decadent almond liqueur that smells so divine, you want to poor it all over your body.

ossini

An impulsive scent that creeps around you like a jazz melody and and snuggles soft on your skin like silk. The composition of vanilia and almond are melting with each other and afford an erotic velvet fragrance. Dior´s Hypnotic Poison used to be compared to Confetto, but never reached the level of that special breathtaking scent.
