Roberto Cavalli Uomo by Roberto Cavalli is a Amber fragrance for men. Roberto Cavalli Uomo was launched in 2016. The nose behind this fragrance is Christophe Raynaud. Top notes are Black Violet and Saffron; middle notes are Honey and Lavender; base notes are Tonka Bean, Cedar and Patchouli.

Italian fashion designer Roberto Cavalli presents his new masculine fragrance in mid-2016 simply called Roberto Cavalli Uomo. Announced as an exclusive oriental - aromatic, the new fragrance is designed for men who are sophisticated, confident and naturally seductive.

The composition opens with a distinctive note of black violet. Its cool character comes in contrast with warm and sexy saffron. The intensive heart of honey with lavender essence provides depth and volume. The hypnotic base of cedar ends the composition.

It is available in an elegant, square black bottle with the Roberto Cavalli emblem and gold lettering as a 60 and 100 ml Eau de Toilette.

This fragrance was renewed in 2023 with a new bottle design, as well as a Parfum version. Would like to see them added here to review.

A sweet and powdery, airy and dewy floral fragrance. The honey is light, not super dense or gooey. The lavender gives a nice clean lift to everything. Leans more mature. For the price, a real winner.

Siddiq334

I love this fragrance. The black violet note really stands out here and gives it a unique masculine effect in a subtle, sensual way. The honey has a realistic smell also. All in all, this a great solid cheapie that can be worn casually or in more formal situations.

Radu.Mihai

This is a captivating fragrance that embodies the essence of sophistication and masculinity. The opening notes introduce a blend of black violet and saffron, creating an immediate sense of mystery and allure. This bold and seductive introduction sets the stage for the olfactory journey that follows.
As the fragrance develops, the heart notes reveal a combination of honey and lavender, adding a touch of sweetness and floral elegance. The interplay between the spicy saffron and the warmth of honey creates a distinctive and memorable character.
The base notes feature cedarwood, ensuring a solid and enduring foundation. The woody accord, along with the oriental nuances, contributes to the overall sensuality and richness of the fragrance. Roberto Cavalli Uomo leaves a lasting impression with its moderate sillage and impressive longevity.
The bottle design is as luxurious and extravagant as one would expect from the Roberto Cavalli brand. The gold accents and the snake motif wrapping around the bottle evoke a sense of opulence and style.
In conclusion,is a fragrance designed for the confident and charismatic man who appreciates a scent that is both bold and refined. It seamlessly combines floral, spicy, and woody elements, resulting in a fragrance that is alluring and timeless. This fragrance is ideal for evening wear or special occasions, making a statement wherever it is worn.

This fragrance is so rich and dense in a good way... it's perfect for misty, rainy, foggy cold days of winter 🌧☔...Wear it... do something you love, and I promise that every time you smell the cap, you'll remember all the details of that beautiful day for the rest of your life... it has the power to transport you there💜

I thought for sure this would be a 10/10 "love" sort of fragrance but ive really got to really be in the mood to wear this. In particular violet leaf, saffron and tonka bean seemed a winning combination. When I think violet I think Dior - Fahrenheit and Givenchy - Gentlemen (2013). Lately I gravitate towards it the same way certain fragrance snobs go towards oud or iris.

I'm having mixed feelings about this, sure it's easy to wear, there's nothing off putting on this either. However it gets boring by the dry down. I feel the person in charge who had the last say before this was mass produced should have worn this for a full day that or they went very heavy on the sprays like 10+. To me it's almost like Armani Code's annoying little brother. Perhaps I'm drawing a similarity to do with the leather and tonka bean used in both. As saffron can kind of smell like leather when done right. I'm looking at you Rasasi - La Yuqawam or Lattafa - Oud For Glory. Anyone wondering. Armani Code is a superior fragrance in every aspect. The only thing this has going for it is the opening which is quite nice. I guess if it wasn't it would have been discontinued. If it was date night or something formal code is my pick. If it's quick errands or I'm sick of the usual stuff I wear uomo.

This starts off sweet, I agree with another reviewer saying it comes off like plums with bits of what I imagine is the patchouli for this hint of greenness. It goes away in seconds. Then you transition into this dirty, sexy spice with sweet combination of violet and tonka bean like undertone. By the dry down it smells like a beauty outlet store where you walk in and perfume saturates the place where every fragrance has been sprayed 1000s of times. It goes very close to "For her" territory by the dry down. It's dark, somewhat powdery. This purple floral sweetness cascades with a spicy undertone. Very dark purple absolutely describes this fragrance to a T which the perfume does look in the light. Do I get honey in this? Not really. I even smelled a jar of it while cooking one day just to see as that made me the most hesitant about buying this for about a year or so.

Using this for about a week on and off. I didn't get beast mode or any wiffs throughout the day. In fact after 4 hours I reapplied another 5 sprays. We'll see what happens when it ages. Right now anyways this seemed like it was overpriced. I paid $69.99. Now If it was $20-30 (Canadian) for 100ml I wouldn't complain. All the money that went towards designing the bottle and packaging could have went elsewhere. If my opinion changes on this portion of the review I'd change it.

non-fragrance related things it reminds me of would be if someone made a spicy purple koolade or possibly Lloyd Plum and cinnamon tea minus the cinnamon. Neither are 100% by any means.

This is a dark, sweet and sexy, date night fragrance. Almost anyone could pull this off. It leans more beginner to intermediate fragrance, when a person is ready to "Evolve" from using tins of body spray by axe. I could see Perry Ellis adding this to the 360 line as the light blue one is just as boring by the dry down. I wouldn't recommend going clubbing with this as it's not loud enough and so far anyways its longevity is not the greatest. I wouldn't miss this if it got discontinued.

However there are way better fragrances out here that would suffice such as
Paco Rabanne - Black XS
Givenchy - Gentleman EDP - get it from a discounter
Diesel - Only The Brave Tattoo
Hugo Boss - Bottled Night
or some stuff from the Armani - Code lineup such as the older version of code in the taller bottle

Personally i’d say this fragrance depends on taste but this just smells intimate and sexy to me and when I pair it with Mercedes Club Black it’s just next level. Mad underrated fragrance I blind bought it and it instantly became my signature for Winter and date night only problem is the sillage isn’t the best but my skin is hard to get good sillage and longevity so don’t trust me on that try on yourself!

AlbusTran

I liked Uomo rite from the first sniff. Sweet but mysterious, well blended with a low cost. Longevity is average. Silage is okay. It worked really well in colder weather. But at that time, many people said this perfume was just meh. Now it becomes a hidden gem.

Motti Farchi

Amazing! I get TF Black Orchid vibes, minus the patchouli. Strong longevity with moderate projection. Smells high quality and sexy, yet carries a very affordable price tag!

Pilot424

I love this fragrance from first moment. It smells so good for dating or going out for dinner and bed time . So recommended.

RobbieX

A lovely sweet fragrance and a great performance - now in my top ten.

udsar

Hello.
I made a blind purchase by reading your comments.
The opening is purple flowered and sweet. I can get the honey note for sure. It's a warm and sweet scent for me. It is more suitable for winter and cool weather. The feel after 5 6 sprays did not please me.
Those who like woody characteristic, salty, fresh, green and blue scents don't need to try. It will be very sweet. The only thing I liked was the ending notes. Cedar and patchouli finish gives some peace. I'll take it off. It's a casual and simple fragrance for me.

ComplicatedSmells

Most intimate fragrance, I’ve smelled. Doesnt last long projects well, only way I can describe it is that it smells like sex. 10/10

mystik777

I can safely say from all the fragrances I've tried so far, this is by far my favourite that keeps me coming back. Just smells intoxicatingly beautiful. The sillage is moderate, but it lasts for ages on my skin. This works for all weather, time of day or occasions. Just oozes class and to me is the perfect fragrance to represent elegant masculinity. Absolute masterpiece.

Vape

I picked this up very slightly used on ebay for £15, a blind buy and at that price I wasn't too worried!
It's really perfectly pleasant, very nice in fact and the performance is pretty good. I like it and will happily pop it on from time to time. If you can pick it up for a sensible price then it's a worthy addition if you like sweet florals.

Trendkill97

A very sexy, linear scent. Sweet, kind of playful. The lavender, honey and violet leaves are prominent, and the rather familiar designer-esque tonka base is here, that's common among so many other similar tonka bean fragrances. This one performs well, great dumb reach for a casual night out and is priced modestly. A good one from Cavalli! 6.5/10

Kushal

This stuff is Niche , in a way that it doesn't have that typical designer base but instead focusses upon a couple of notes and is constructed around them.
Main players here are Lavender , Honey & Tonka .
It is somewhat Sweet ..not syrupy sweet but 'Powdery - almost talcum like '.
Lavender is pretty much the star here , and maintains its prominence from Top to Base .
An easy Unisex , lasts a good 7 - 8 hrs . Decent projection . Overall a solid frag.
7/10.

I'm not entirely sure if it's because I'm very much still recovering from an upper respiratory infection, or my nose is being weird, or it's actually there, but man, do I get a strong dose of banana off of the opening to this. I'm guessing it's how the violet and honey are playing together in my sniffer, but it started out "bananas foster", and as it's drying down and the wood is coming out, it's turning into slightly green banana bread. Which is weird... but also weirdly good.

Now that I see what the notes are, I am able to distinguish them from one another fairly well, but, man, did that throw me at first.

I guess another big part of my nose's confusion (nose-fusion?) is that I've only worn this once before, during the summer, and kind of did a "this is not the season, come back later" note to myself regarding it. I didn't really sit down and analyse it, I just took a shower and threw on something more seasonally appropriate.

Now, though, it's a warmer day on the border of winter and spring, and it's really doing it for me. I've been asking people to give me numerical and directional coordinates that I use to randomly select my fragrances lately (some would take this as a sign of too many, but I politely disagree), and I'm very pleased with how this particular selection turned out.

Weird me-stuff aside, though, I would say that this is almost certainly a safe blind-buy, if you don't mind a sweet, slightly floral, arguably banana fragrance with a touch of powderiness to it - mostly because it sells for an almost insultingly low price at most fragrance discounters, so you can't really go wrong. It does skew more towards cold-weather use, and arguably daytime over nighttime, but I'm currently wearing it to the office, and it's perfectly fine there, too.

Tl;dr: A nice, sweet, floral/powdery cool weather fragrance at a really solid price.

8.7/10

Drchrisnicol

Violet and honey, lavender and saffron? The note list intrigued.
I blind bought. No regrets whatsoever.
This is right at the top of my date night frags. The opening burst of florals and honey, pinned down by cedar wood, is highly intoxicating and the dry down morphs into a warm reminder of summer. It is seductive but not in a shouty way like Nasomatto’s Black Afgano. Performance is good.
Can’t understand why it is not more well-known. Search around and you will find it at less than the highish mainstream asking price.

tumiknows

I've had this for over a year but I hadn't worn it in a loooong while, until recently. This is a dope scent for date nights. When I put it on recently, I was headed for a date and it just worked for the occasion. This honey and violet leaf combo is unique and hella sexy.
The projection isn't beast mode, so the scent wont overwhelm anyone close to you. The longevity is fairly long on my skin - I comfortably get around 9 hours. I'd say this scent works well in the evenings, more than the daytime. It's not really suitable for neutral places like the office - unless if your intention is to turn heads lol.

I'm going to wear this more often!

isthisavailibleffs

Smells like really juicy sweet violets. Sensational.

Toby Farms

Can really pickup on the violet and honey (where I originally thought it was plum because this smells so good.). The issue with this is the performance, where I could no longer detect the scent after 30-40 minutes. I guess if you spray heavy on clothes it will last longer.

Smellgoodfeelgood84

I know it's been around for a few years now but I believe this to be a fairly underrated fragrance. It's delicious, hypnotic, intoxicating. I was looking for a scent for my brother as a Christmas gift. This made the top 5. I went with a Mont Blanc Legend giftset instead. However I might end up getting this and holding onto it for another Christmas or birthday.

Afrikano

Since it’s a lot colder I started wearing this again and felt like I needed to update my review on it. When it’s cold this smells lovely on my skin. I start to pick up a lot more of the honey and tonka bean instead of just straight wet violet. But the sweeter notes combined with the violet leaf blends really nicely. I’d say this smells exactly like how the bottle looks. Dark but elegant/sophisticated

DamansomFragrances

To answer your question [thesethgyan] previously this had a 'reminds me of' Fahrenheit now it's gone! now you comments of negativity ...go figure? It's a very good masculine scent so take the negativity with a pinch of salt and trust your own nose, you never know who's been bought.

FragrantBob

Roberto Cavalli Uomo was an impulsive blind buy for me because I saw it at a cheap price, read a bit about it and the notes sounded interesting so I picked it up. I'm very happy I did. Robert Cavalli Uomo is a nice smelling masculine fragrance that carries some sexiness, warmth and class. A beautiful sweet saffron, honey and floral opening which immediately gives the vibes of a good date night fragrance. Although it has a sweet opening it is not excessively sweet and retains some maturity. As the scent dries down the lavender and woody notes are there with the faint honey in the background. I find that Roberto Cavalli Uomo projects very well for the first couple of hours of wear and then becomes a bit more settled and intimate. It lasts most of the day on me. I like this fragrance because it is one of those gems that can be obtained quite cheap but smells and performs more like a designer scent. A solid 4/5 for this fragrance.

Detman101

Gonna give this another try tomorrow. Definitely going to layer it with some vanilla though.
If this composition had more vanilla in it, it'd be perfect.

If it doesn't perform better or last longer...i'll experiment with it...decant half and add some sylvamber and vanilla absolute to it...see if it performs and smells better. If it does, I'll keep the formula and mod the remaining half of the frag.

26DEC22:
Rehomed to a bud that bought the bottle after sampling it.

robertandsheilaburke

Love the violet opening. The dry down is intoxicating. It is a unique fragrance so you will be different. This is such a great fragrance for any price but this one is cheap. If you can get your hands on any of these in the line, get them!

sebastiang071

Nice violet and honey gourmand for winter/fall. Different enough from everything else that it could be signature scent worthy :)

Jonathanelsher3

great winter fragrance

anasshth

I just got this fragrance, it's a great 'rainy day' fragrance.
You can smell the honey in the opening with lavender and violet, the honey smell is so smooth and lovely to smell.
I find this fragrance opening not too repulsive, it's definitely a fall fragrance but i can see myself wearing it in spring maybe summer nights because it's not too strong for my nose, the performance is moderate, like 5 to 6 hours longevity with 1-2 hours moderate sillage then it will become a close to nose scent.
I give this fragrance:
8.5 out of 10 for the price and quality.
8 out of 10 for the smell.
6.5 out of 10 for the performance
6 for the sillage.

La Nuit Noir

Great 'rainy day' fragrance, and at an amazing price.

Smells a bit like lipstick but with some darkness added, but in a really good way and leaning masculine.

thesethgyan

How come the recent reviews say this sucks. I tested it at the mall and it was fine and sweet. Now I don't know if to get it.

vbs221

Seeing L’Envol de Cartier in the “reminds me of” and violet leaf and honey in the notes, I was pretty excited. Also read positive reviews about it.

Let me tell you. Those saying this has anything to do with L’Envol need to have their brains checked before their noses. It’s criminal to compare this to a masterpiece like that.

I can’t imagine how a fragrance can have such a nice note breakdown yet smell so bad. This basically smells like a slightly rotten tonka bean. That’s it. Nothing else. Nothing nice about it. Disappointed.

Dumbplings

Bubblegum & flowers...Not sure if I hate this fragrance or just haven't really acquired the taste for it yet. But so far I know that I really don't like it, Oh god why did I blind buy this? I regret buying this :'(

Time to try resell it, the hype is not real guys biggest disappointment ever

Edit - came back to smell this a few times, when you spray it in large quantities it smells a lot better in large quantities then you can actually smell more lavender. And in large amounts it smells a bit like Ralphs Club but just worse. However there is something really weird in this DNA that I don't like something just smells off about it, could be leather that isn't listed on noted but something in here smells too weird.....

Also reminds me of Boss the scent "Le parfum" it's got that floral and sweet smell also leathery too

Afrikano

Spaying it in the air it’s a nice violet honey combo, but in my skin it turns very herbal. Almost like I’m smelling wet violets and grass 😑. It’s sits extremely close to skin too on me so idk if I’ll keep this as I don’t want to smell like wet flowers

Ali-smellsnice

Its classy and smells different yet rich with black violet and lavender, It comes off a bit feminine and powdery at initial spray, but 20 minutes into dry down and it becomes a gorgeous manly scent for the gentleman.

vola_cea

The honey in this fragrance smells dried out, very powdery and sparkly. The violet feels wet and fresh, causing an interesting contrast between the two dominant notes. This is a very expensive smelling fragrance, especially for the price. It lasts a long time on my skin and projects quite well. I would place this as a cooler weather late night type of fragrance.

What I really like about this is the almost niche creativity with the violet and honey, without the eccentric weird factor that makes many niche fragrances revolting to the general public. To me, this is quite similar (feel, suitability) to Prada L'Homme Intense and Dior Homme Intense. If you like those, you will probably like this too.

3 SPRAYS AH DAY

ALL I'M GOING TO SAY IS I LOVE THIS CONCOCTION...HONEY LAVENDER AND A TAD BIT POWDERY AND THE PRI E FOR SOMETHING SO GOOD IS THE STEAL

legacy2711

I got this 3 years back. A good violet fragrance if you like violets.

MaciekLondonWwa

Rich, elegant, long lasting.
Beautiful presentation and a fantastic value .
I love it !!!

It's a great great value ( £23-25 for 100ml at discounters)

Can't get enough of it.

Hadad

Smells like batman

GetGUD

Simply put, in my opinion, this is a Violet Gourmand Bomb. Sweet, rich, floral-y, perfect for an intimate Autumn or Winter date night. I'd never rock this during the day or outside of those 2 seasons as, once again, it's very rich & cloying. But wow, this is exquisite, elegant, leaning Unisex but I'd still call it masculine. And at the $35CAD I paid, such a no brainer.

levileviivelivel

I'm blown away by how much I like this stuff. It is very violet heavy, so I was a little unsure how "masculine" it would be, and while it is nearly a unisex fragrance I definitely still feel very confident pulling this off. The violet is very floral on the top, and remains throughout, but as it dries down the honey and patchouli come through, eventually bringing forth the cedar. It only gets better as it sits, and it lasts a very long time! It is a very intimate scent, sits right on the skin and doesn't really leave any trail.

DodgersLH714

Wow! Get it before its gone Silver and Deep Desire are already fetching $$$......beautiful the honey is not in your face. It's a soft and inviting scent that goes perfect with the violet......tonka.......oooff...its love!

Elvin_B.

Rich and potent, masculine and sexy, dry ...black violet and honey. Lavender fields, woman in the distance...wise choice.

Ninalovesclassy

I don't know why, but my boyfriend hates this fragrance and he wears it to work to use it up and get rid of it. I adore it!!! It smells addictive, elegant, like a gentleman and sexy on his skin for over 8 hours! It's intimate, skin scent, no projection, but it's light and kinda sneaky - like the quiet guy in a place, who is super hot but not in your face loudly hot. That's what kind of fragrance this guy would wear. I love it as a cuddling intimate scent on a man.

Leon90

If I could describe this scent using a colour, it would be purple. Before buying any fragrance I always come on here to read the reviews, the general consensus I gathered was that the opening isn’t good, but the dry down is amazing.. after purchasing and trying for the first time, I must say I love the opening, a lovely bright violet note with the honey giving it some warmth, the honey sticks around as the scent dries down into a sweet base. For less than £30 for a 100ml bottle this is an absolute steal. I would say this is more suited to evening wear in cooler weather but you could probably pull this off throughout the day in casual situations or even work, I don’t think I’d wear it in hot weather, as I can imagine it would probably be quite cloying and performance wouldn’t be at its best.

Like music, art, movies etc, everyone’s taste is different and I can understand why some might not like the opening of the fragrance (or even the fragrance in its entirety) which is why I take reviews with a pinch of salt, but for the price you can pick this up for, it’s worth going in blind, I say that given this isn’t something you would have access to test as it’s not (as far as I’m aware) common to see in actual retail stores.

Overall, happy with the purchase, it’s a lovely scent and for the price, an absolute bargain!

nawaf.H

Bought it discounted for 40 euros, don't think I'd buy it if it wasn't as there are many other options. However, it is such a bargain at that price. Smells good average performance nothing more I can add

Glyph

The smell of violets became so easy and inexpensive to reproduce more than a century ago with the exploration of ionones that quickly even candy could easily chemically reproduce that smell. The opening blast of violets here with honey (which to me was very noticeable) reminded me, as it has others below, of old-fashioned Chowards, which makes the top just too candied and cloying for me.

Fortunately the drydown is much better and much more interesting, with the honey disappearing, the violet still evident but less dominant, and the more mature notes of saffron and lavender and tonka becoming more evident. The more sophisticated accords at the heart and base seem much more in keeping with the elegant and fancy heavy black bottle this comes in (at quite a reasonable price if you buy this at discounters' sites). This is a good bargain for a finally refined fragrance core that has a very brash and sweet opening: how you react to the latter will ultimately determine whether or not this is for you. I do recommend testing before buying if possible.

Cyklon

The magic is in the dry down. Really didn’t like this on initial spray but after 15/20 mins something magical happens. Certainly 25-30+ on the age range as it’s not an everyday modern fragrance for the younger crowd. A really high class scent at a bargain basement price

Yung Moses

Decent. I can hardly smell the honey. The vetiver makes it very gentlemanly and chique.

dimitarlolov

The evil twin of FaHrenHeit. And just when you think it's gone it's there watching you. If this was loud would have been KNEEL!

BASMAJ

I like it..it smells thick extra floral in the opening and more beautiful balanced deep rich in the dry-down...it starts blooming after 20 or 30 minutes... a very successful blind buy .. it's like Roberto Cavalli Nero assoluto which I owned and loved... Uomo has a similar floral profile.. a rich velvety type of flowers with similar sweetness... Uomo dry-down is smoother, softer and more floral while Nero assoluto has an orientaly dry-down..but generally if you like Nero I think you'll like uomo too.

Versatility? Uomo is great to be attached with good memories.. it's very sensual ..great during seasonal holidays ... very versatile and unique ..easy option when going out with friends .. casual outdoor activities ..coffee shops ..cinema .. dinner outside.. family gatherings .. cosy night at home..romantic times .. IMO Uomo is one of the best versatile affordable chic fragrances I owned.. perfect during the night yet I can see myself wearing it comfortably during day time too...Uomo shines in cold weather winter/fall 💐👌

Regarding performance, it projects very well during the first 2 hours ..+ 4 to 5 hours moderate soft nice projection.. good performance, in my opinion, this is the perfect performance 6 to 8 hours is enough for me.

I purchased 1ooML 30$ on sale ..good deal👍

I recommend it .. 0 regrets.."blind buy" safe .. 8.5/10

mamooshak

One word for this hidden gem, ELEGANT. Yes you might get some resemblance with other sweet fragrances such as 1 Million, Eros and Ferragamo Uomo Intense but this is not for teenagers. No bubble gum scent in this one. This is for a well dressed and groomed man with confidence going to a formal party or a night date. The drydown is beautiful with patchouli and cedar getting more prominent. Projection is average for about 2 hours and Longevity above average for about 6-7 hours on skin and over 12 hours on clothes. If this one was bottled in one of those well known designer brands or even niche brands people would pay over $100 for it. For me it is 9/10.

ONE-CLASSIC-MAN

Another blind buy with all its excitement ! (you know, the detailed research, the anticipation of the delivery, open the box...). There were 4 factors that made me buy this fragrance: 1) the very nice bottle 2) the good reviews 3) the price 4) the Honey note which I fell in love with from its perfection in Hugo Boss Number One!
Roberto Cavalli Uomo has a very nice, elegant and expensive smell. The night flowers + honey are more dominant - with a little freshness. You can imagine a romantic late evening date outside, looking the stars and the crescent moon..!
Performance is better than average. I really like it!!

Detman101

Oh wow...this is..intense!!
When I first spray it...I get super intense VIOLET flowers...like, your-whole-world-turns-purple level violet! Directly reminded me of those old-school violet candies..."Chowards" I think they were called? I think if I ate one of those and wore this fragrance at the same time I would turn into the Purple King...."PRINCE"....lol.

But then about 15 minutes later....I get hints of lavender and...something else...that must be the saffron.
It stayed this way for at least 1.5 hours.
Then i could just barely smell the honey way deep underneath the violet (which stayed prominent thru the whole first wear). It stayed this way until I couldn't smell it anywhere but on my skin about 5 hours later. (I hadn't showered when the package arrived, just directly sprayed on unfresh skin...so that may affect the longevity)

Overall Assessment:
This is a GREAT mysterious night-time scent! I could definitely see rocking this on a date-night with the wife. I would wear this for dress-up events or hitting the open-air market with the wife, but I wouldn't wear this for my outdoors/woods activities.
While I think this could be worn year-round, I do not see it as a primary winter-time fragrance. So I'll be holding my bottle until spring, for fall and winter I'll have to find another honey-frag.
Let the search begin!

04APR22
Still imagining a situation to wear this in. The wife says it's too medicinal, and I'm not THAT into violet anymore that I can make it past the opening 15 mins to get to the smooth honeyed dry-down. I think this may go into the "Stasis" bin until I come out of my "Vanilla" phase. I'll try again in the Fall...

29AUG22
Still have no desire to wear this. I guess it's headed to the "Donation" bin.
I'm just not into Violet to this level anymore. I'd hoped that the Honey note would be more prominent...but it's "The Violet Show" unfortunately.
Now to find a good home to gift this to...

mazga

@istrate_jhony I'm not surprised at all, and for a good reason, they absolutely don't.

edifier

I concur with stevestyle, the opening is jarring and alcoholic, but soon dries down to a beautiful powdery, lightly sweet and floral scent, that beckons your attention as it wafts around you. Floral fragrances for men are rare; Roberto Cavalli Uomo is a balanced concoction that is simultaneously masculine, floral and magnetic. Often the flankers get more attention and praise. I think that this, like many other OGs, has been overlooked.

I hated the opening first spray....wait whats this dry down? Wow. Can't believe that something that started off as a very bad first spray turn into something so gorgeous. Now my daily go to. I don't recommend this for teens it's too sophisticated. Age 25 and up. So dark and masculine and sexy

istrate_jhony

Nice scent, sweet and a bit floral got 100ml for 24£, I'm surprise no one has mentioned that smell exactly like Hugo Boss The Scent Absolut.

Stevie_D

This is so good that its price doesn't do it any justice at all. Lovely and sweet, with the honey note sticking to the florals and the vanilla beautifully

drummertama11

This is a dark floral fragrance with a tinge of sweetness. I personally see this as a fragrance someone over 35 would wear to formal or casual occasions. I personally didn't like it the first few months of owning it but once time passed, I uncapped it and sprayed a bit on my arm and couldn't help but enjoy it. I wore it on a cloudy day while running errands and it felt like the weather fit the fragrance perfectly; definitely suited for Fall/Winter.

Scent: 8 oofs
Opens up sweet and floral, and dries down floral and masculine. Not 100% my cup of tea but can definitely see myself wearing this on certain cloudy days as a 28 year old guy. Wouldn't wear this to a bar or club at all. TOO floral for those occasions. Use it for family dinners or outings, not a mass-appealer.

Longevity: 8 oofs
Lasts quite a bit. Got 8 hours on my skin once

Performance: 7 oofs
Becomes a skin scent after the 4 hour mark for me.

Verdict: worth a blind buy if you're looking to train your nose to these notes or want something new in your collection.

I like this fragrance, and so does my wife . I wish the violet was a little more prominent in the base, but overall it's a great fragrance. A honey/gourmand bomb to say the least if that's your thing. Good for date night, casual evenings, blind buy safe hell you could even dress it up if you wanted. Some here say that it doesn't last long, but it does on my skin. Also I believe the whole Roberto Cavalli Uomo line is good as well.

skaccomatto

Roberto Cavalli Uomo is a pretty polarizing fragrance; this scent has a strong floral/powdery facet (the "lipstick" effect) given by the violet note that shows up from the first seconds and goes into the drydown.

I'm kinda fascinated by it: the bottle presentation, pitch black; the name "Uomo" ("Man" in Italian: can't get more descriptive than this); the aura surrounding the Cavalli brand (loud and transgressive); cook the ingredients together and I was expecting a strongly masculine, heavy duty sweet-gourmand fragrance with a touch of powderiness. This.is.not.

Uomo is bordeline feminine without ever crossing that line - the florals in this are really steering this one towards a darker, floral-powdery arena that would not be out of place on a dark mistress. The violet accord in the opening is violet candies (you know, those small sugary bon-bons), mouthwatering and sweet, before turning into a lipstick; it's playful, but in a BDSM/rockstar and "in your face" way. This is something the Maneskin would wear during a concert, I'm pretty sure.

Honey is by far the most noticeable contributor to the scent profile after the violet, more so than tonka which appears only in the supporting role, together with some woodiness - to me the base is pretty non-descript. I don't smell saffron per se, but more of an added hint of spiciness. I can pick lavander only if I spray it on paper or smelling the atomiser, go figure what my skin does to it.

Uomo projects heavily and lasts even longer - I've been wearing this multiple times this past few weeks and I've always clocked in around 10 hours and this is NOT a skin scent. I think this one is a must try-before-you-buy, although given the prices at discounters you could be tempted not to. Batch code of my gorgeous lucid black 40ml bottle is 6139, from 2016, made by Coty. It's a like because it's daring and bold and different, but try before you buy - this is not for everyone. Ladies who smelled it on me gave favourable reviews, gents a bit less so.

Roman86

The smell is very nice and classy. At first I thought this was a subtle scent but the longer I have it on me the more I am able to smell it which is remarkable. I sprayed it on my shirt and it's going stronger now than it did some hours ago. It’s good stuff and deceptively strong. Dark, sweet, sexy. One of my favorites. Awesome bottle as well. I recommend it.

smoothie.1

Blind bought this after watching Sebastian recommend it on his channel. Absolutely beautiful. The lovely opening with violet and spices. The lavender takes over and the honey brings sweetness and creaminess. It just feels so rich, smooth and cozy. It doesnt get to sweet and keeps on the masculine side despite the floral notes. Performance is average. For 30 bucks it is indeed a safe buy.

Diddleydaddy6901234

Not a fan of this at all. I had always been tempted to blind buy it and today friend of mind had it in his collection so I stole a couple of sprays. Very glad I didn't blind buy. Very cloying.

Parconti7

Such an amazing, dark, mysterious, masculine fragrance for a man. Very great for the winter, fall, and nighttime. At first I didn't think much of it when I first got my hands on it, but this thing grew so much on me and it's one of my favorites. Amazing price quality out of this one. It smells like a $100+ fragrance even though it's only like $25. It projects very well atleast 5 feet maybe even more. The longevity is great too. I get around 8+ hours with it. Overall, just get this thing, and for $20-$30 what could I say. Italians are masterminds with fragrances.

robertwembridge

COTY really made a floral fragrance for men right, maybe a little overpowering on the lavender, this was my first ever fragrance which made me have a genuine interest in fragrances, I was at the store and I was amazed how cheap it was from the others, I liked the bottle design and i've only tried on my skin for around 1 minute before I purchased it, it lasts on my skin for around 7-9 hours.
I love this fragrance and if you have $30 of a budget you can't go wrong on a masculine floral scent. 9/10.

jturner333

Woooo boy. Where to begin with this one? Let's see, think Ferragamo Uomo Signature but notch the "lipstick" factor up to 110. Smells like an absolute mess up front, I'm sorry. The "black violet" note is way too overbearing and just not good. Combine that with the honey note and you get this nasty mess of a fragrance that barely lasts 2hrs (on my skin anyway). I'm surprised this is rated above a 4.0 because the scent profile simply doesn't work. It literally to my nose smells like they took Ferragamo Uomo Signature and increased the "lipstick/coffee" note tenfold. Way too intrusive in the opening and then it thankfully fades away after about 2hrs to nothing otherwise I'd be taking a shower to get it off.

Dr Harder

The way notes come together creates this clean laundry, bubble gum and powdery combo, it walks between these areas the whole time without ever getting boring or predictable. Longevity and sillage are also excelent, honestly this is fantastic scent for almost every ocasion and season and additional plus are its authenticity and uniqueness. 8/10

Pavlos St

At first I get the violet note and later on after it dries down you can smell the prominent note which is honey. If you want a cheap fragrance with decent performance and longevity for winter, this is an excellent choice. Overall, Roberto Cavalli is a forgotten, underestimated brand with good quality and despite the low prices will not smell cheap at all.

Dr Harder

This combo of violet, honey, lavender and saffron gives me a clean laundry vibe. What most people hate about this scent(opening) is actually my favorite part of Uomo. Drydown, for some reason makes me indifferent, I should care more about it but it remains somehow flat.Btw,if you have Uomo, Silver Essence is redundant and vice versa. They are 99% similar scents

robbiebgg

Agree with @Dr Harder - a beautiful scent for the evening, but just wish it would last longer.

Puijila

When Uomo agrees with me I like it very much. I wish I could tell saffron notes, but to me the opening is simply an impression of moonlight illuminating dark flowers that could perhaps be violets or maybe crocuses.

This is a very noctural fragrance. The flowers fade, as flowers do, but their sweetness is sustained by the heart. I do not smell it so much as honey, but there is something soporific about this stage, almost anaesthetic, especially as it grows more intimate.

The final cedar skin scent lasts a long time on me -- when I first got it, the base clung until i washed it off a couple of days later. I suspect it lasts forever on fabric.

When it doesn't agree with me, it is like the anaesthetic qualities take over from the soporific and it seems like something I feel compelled to scrub off to fix the mistake I made by applying it, when its nocturnal character is unwelcome. Perhaps I should avoid it for bright daylight use.

Incidentally there is an Avon body wash called simply "Man" [TRANSLATOR'S NOTE: "Man" means "Uomo"] which favours it quite well. And speaking of bottles, the one for this is gaudy and great.

Darkstar _ Destroyer

I like this one so much! That opening of violet and saffron is a great way to start a fragrance. It stays sweet, but not overly sweet for the duration. This is one fragrance that I will always want to have in my collection. So darn good!

Good longevity and projection on my skin. Highly recommend.

Dr Harder

First 3-4 hours are amazing. Then it completely disappears. Like completely its gone, not even a skin scent is left

BigWhiff

I typically steer clear of florals. Too feminine for my tastes, but THIS!! This is how a masculin floral should be done! Its dark, its sweet, its smooth, and despite not listing any fruits.. its juicy! This scent is just so pleasant to me. Its powdery but smooth and not overwhelming and has some woody creamy undertones. I enjoy wearing this in the evenings especially after a rough day at work. This is an amazing "unwinding" scent and its so calming it helps me sleep at night. Dont blind buy this thinking you are going to get compliments. Intimate projection. Buy this for yourself to smell not for other people to smell. This scent is for the individual.

ArmanH

For special nights. Very rich scent, full experience. Personally I dislike the smell of saffron. It's similar to Issey miyake pour Homme intense saffron note. I sold this fragrance. My rating: 5/10 (saffron kills the magic 😳)

I have Roberto Cavalli La Notte too and you CAN'T compare them at all. La Notte is a 10😍

Laurentiu20

A sweet-spicy, floral pefume with a gourmand touch, very well blanded and balanced. It's powdery floral and sweet, but it's also pretty masculine.

It starts with a strong smell of violet (I can smell the violet for a good amount of time), spicy, with sweetness in the background. Beside soffran, there are 100% some other spices and I can smell some citrus notes, but probably because of the chemicals/fixatives from perfume.

As it dries down, it gets sweeter, the honey note kicks in, the violet and spices lose from intensity, and I guess tonka beans help it a little to smell more gourmand. Gladly, the honey note on my skin is somehow in the background and it's not overwhelming. The woody notes comes along in the dry-down, and make a balance between powdery-floral notes and sweetness.

The performance is ok, I get ~7H with a moderate projection in first ~1.h, and then it gets closer and closer to the skin.
on me becomes a skin scent after ~2h, you have to make some overspray with it

The bottle has a nice design, I like it. I guess the fragrance it's perfect for summer nights.
batch 6209 (08/2016)

Kingonaire

Love this, its very unique too

smoove3k

This cologne is alright nothing too good or too bad, I paid 32 for it on gift express. When you smell it out the sprayer it smells like the black violet a lot slightly sweet, it’s disappointing because I bought it because it has honey which is sweet smelling. Maybe the dry down is different I dont know imma ask around.

Smell, 3/5
It’s a skin or close scent
I wouldn’t really recommend this one might return

Anybody have any honey colognes that are cheap and not common cause I wanna stand out, lemme know

spartaksci

Blind bought this off of reviews. What an amazing cheapie. Right up my alley. Don't get scared by the honey note expecting a candy-bomb, the note is there just to smooth things out. This is a darker floral with a powdery vibe that, during the opening, goes just at the edge of being feminine but without really crossing that line, thanks to the lavender that is so well blended here. I got this expecting something else, something "heavier", but i think i like the way this smells more than what i had it pictured in my head.

The saffron adds a delicate nod to the whole concoction, and the tonka bean takes a back seat here, acting more as a support note to the patchouli and the cedar base which is curious, since usually is the other way around.

This is not necessarily a casual frag, but it can definetly be used during daytime. I'd say it's more of a colder weather scent though. It's a pretty different scent profile than you would normally expect out of a modern frag, specially considering the price tag. Worth a blind buy? Hell yes.

Projects very well for awhile, leaving a nice scent trail. If you go heavy with this i think it can fill a room too. 7+ hours on my skin.

Errolflynn59

Adore this...unique...lasts for 4/5 hours... beautiful..

Khalidjb

Underrated !! This is very unique .. you should try !!

sameenuk

I don't really think this one is that good. I see the notes are violet and actually I find the topnotes are frankly underwhelming. Scent is more like a skin scent, it really just doesn't want to travel. It's like it's gone into its own version of lockdown in a Freudian sort of way. Too attached

After a while the basenotes and dry down come in and tbh they are ok, sweet, surprisingly aromatic but just very bland. I wouldnt say this is bad but just well , some old same old and a bit high in the price point considering. Lavender and patchouli are a nice combination here but it doesn't make me think. This is more of a "meh" scent in every sense of the word

This is the kind of thing you either will wear it out or just leave in your collection. The bottle is superb and bold though. Totally contrast to the scent itself

clintjr82

I had high hopes for this scent considering the violet honey scents in it. I like violets. I expected a powerful blast. Its a skin scent or intimate if thats what you looking for. 1 hr lasting power. Starts off ok, but comes off unbalanced mostly honey with violet, then dries down powdery feminine . Ysl La nuit l homme Intense and Valentino Uomo Intense are way better buys and less synthetic with better blends.

mazga

Tonka heavy scents just tickle me pink and this is no exception. Even though it's in the base I get it straight of the bat. Masterfully blended with the saffron. This is an excellent bang for your buck chilly night out fragrance.

Tidal84

Very nice fragrance; opening reminds me of a floral garden at midnight. Drydown is interesting, sometimes the tonka comes through really strong giving it a sort of cocoa vibe paired with the honey. Other times it comes off fresh and floral from the lavendar/cedar. A very dynamic, unique fragrance. Versatile and inexpensive.

RobbieX

A really lovely fragrance. It's very sweet, floral, powerful, fresh and a touch woody. Staying power and projection are both very good.
It's really nice to get a proper power on a fragrance, in fact, I've tried EDP scents that are not as powerful as this gem.
This is like a blend of Gentlemen Only and Paul Smith Man.
The dry down stays sweet with a little more tonka.
Yes - I love this one it's delicious and really glad I bought it blind based on these reviews - thanks folks!

mikecch

I spent my youth in Cavalli jeans, and have always wanted to try one of his scents.

Cavalli's Uomo opens with a cold storm of intense purple flowers.
This settles into a dark, powdery floral smell which remains cold and very fresh.

Over half an hour, this scent begins to warm and sweeten slightly, while purple flowers continue to take centre stage.

Light woods and a soft sweetness finishes the scent as the floral notes begin to dull after a hour or two.

Performance and durability are average. Two sprays to the hand recedes close to the skin after 2 hours. After 4 to 5 hours, it has all but disappeared.

Overall, a fairly well done dark floral scent. It's appealing but straightforward, elegant but lacking in complexity.

A nice, masculine designer scent.
Budget priced at discounters (my 100 mL bottle reviewed at $35 AUD), and smells much better than most in that price bracket.

Giuseppevi88

Ok. This is really too, Too, TOO much scent in every aspect.
The very first thing that came to my mind the first time when I sprayed after one second was a extremely elegant, but at the same time also extremely erotic woman, with capitol E. Intoxicating sexiness hard to describe. Yummy token to the nth power. To me this really is the border line of men perfumery next to the feminine fragrances, but still manly. Strong, red pin up style lipstick, strong rose, strong gourmand notes, strong sweet boozing, everything is strong, but very well balanced. A perfume that never leave you alone, never. It seems like having a wonderful top model with so much make up perfectly put on always next to you.
Could really be veeery close to niche quality, no doubt. I would call it a super extreme intense take on a mix between YSL La Nuit De L'Homme and Tom Ford Noir Extreme.
I clearly feel here the style by Monsieur Christophe Reynaud.

yazeed_az

The fragrance is mysterious but I like it 👍🏼

Aussienose

Its surprising good and cheap enough just to blind buy a smaller size and enjoy it for what it is. Even if its just to be a self indulgent and be a fun sexy italian for a few hours. Why not! 3/5

Tre G

Good balance between sweet and fresh, the opening is very feminine to me though, once it dries down it's great. Good performer I get like 12+ hours on this, great projection aswell.

sergiuniculescu

A very balanced contrast between sweet and fresh. On the surface we find the sweet given by honey which is not at all overwhelming and tonka, then in the background we find a very clean fresh given by violet and lavender.
Good longevity 10h + and a moderate to discreet projection. Perfect for the office or for intimate datings when a person stay close to you. Overall, a very masculine scent, although on the surface it is sweet, which makes it a magnet for the feminine part. At this modest price it has, really worth it.

stalal

My safe winter cheapie, that i dont see a lot of people wearing. Not ground breaking but pleasant, clean smelling and lasts long

bwalker0497

Smells like CK Euphoria Intense. Has the same chocolate strawberry like DNA as Euphoria Intense. I believe its due to the honey, tonka beans with the black violet undertone.

update: I get this black orchid chocolate type of a vibe now.. excuse my nose, it's all over the place! another update probably coming soon!

Alustaz

Ooooh, this is an addiction, i walk in the midnight to sniff it, uplifting and gourmand-y,
Compared to La nuit de L'homme..
RC oumo is sharper, well defined at the opening, saying : hey i am a spicy flower, then.. hey i am flower powder, i am making your day, then, heyyyy i am gourmand-y, i am honey and i am delicious, then it became cozy, well rounded saffron, honey, tonka, romantic and seductive, and lately a comfy musk skin scent remained.
In the other hand l had LNDH with the poor new formulation, and it has a poor pspicy opening, i had to spray too much to skip the nauseating sensation, then turned into sweetly little powdery semi cheap fragrance.

gits_and_shiggles

Really nice composition of honey, tonka and the violet. The notes of saffron in the background, blended with the violet and honey give this fragrance a non-lipsticky, or "not too powdery" iris smell, reminding me slightly of a lighter, sweeter version of valentino uomo intense, or whatever other iris-based fragrance.

It's more of a spring/autumn weather fragrance because of the sweetness, and hits a perfect sweet spot of unisex, not leaning too masculine or feminine.

Despite being a sweet fragrance, it doesn't suffer from being an exclusively youthful smelling fragrance, like invictus, one million, or ultra male, because it doesn't have that synthetic, bubble-gum quality. It'll suit anyone of any age, from a teenager, to an older gentleman., and can be worn casually or formally.

Decent performance too. Not beast-mode, but not a skin scent either.

VERY underrated, and for the price, it's a safe blind-buy (which I NEVER recommend for most fragrances).

matiesionut99

I just love it. Very good quality for the price you are paying, spectacular opening with decent performance. Massive compliments for it, Very happy with it.

Scent: 10/10
Uniqueness: 10/10
Progection: 7/10
Sellage: 6/10
Longevity: Moderate on my skin 6/10
Price: 8/10
Over all : 7.8/10
Wearing condition:
Cold weather rather than warm, although sweating brings the notes up again.
Night rather than day time.
As a gift: satisfying.

Alustaz

I bought it under woody freg. choice.. chosen by the seller.. and it was the stunning meaning of floral sweetly scent for men.. some sprays and will feel comfortable and want to sniff it every time and then.

aet

Put me in the "like" camp on this one. I don't find it sweet nor chemical smelling. I do find it to be a woody gourmand that is excellent for cooler weather. Way more elegant than its price point would suggest. Outstanding longevity and above average sillage. This fragrance truly highlights that the same scent can smell differently on people and that beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

senpai

Do not blind buy this.

juliusarnars

The first word that comes into mind is "elegant". It is deep and smooth without trying to much and the smell is just gooood.
Personally I have tried hundreds of fragrances in airports (I travel a lot) and stores, just looking for the right smell. Both because I am very sensitive for smells but also because I am quite picky 43 year old, young at heart male ;)
I am currently using these blends and they fit my profile and without getting me a headache: Tom Ford Oud Wood (cold months), Channel Allure Blanch edition (warm months), YSL Nuit and some L'Occitane Eau de Cedrat & Euv des Bavx.

Cavalli Uomo is the perfect item I wanted in my closet for colder months (in my country it is 7 months cold) for general usage as my signature fragrances TF&Chanel are quite unique in smell. This is just the feel-good seductive smell for every occasion. YSL Nuit is for slightly younger feel, but Uomo has more mature and experienced feel to it.

I am super happy to have found it, as it is quite hidden in stores and airports. Will wear this for years to come...if the world will not end soon enough :)

stevestyle

Come on guys are you kidding me? Is your taste in your backsides? This is a disgusting mess. The opening is very harsh and dries down to a standard joop type smell. Absolutely terrible and have no idea why you guys are hyping this thing. It's trash

Rory-1973

I blind bought this after seeing a review on YouTube.
Tried it and thought okay this is good.
I wear a lot of different fragrances but half the time I can't smell them on myself.
When I wore this I kept getting a whiff of something nice and thinking, what is that? Oh yeah it's the Cavalli.
Turns out I actually bought a different one to the YouTube review.
But, I have to say.
This is amazing. It's selling for about £24.
This opens and dries in a spectacular way.
On me, I guess it's my skin type, this smells absolutely glorious.
I just went and bought another 2 bottles.
I cannot believe how good this is for the price.
It just smells; divine.
I have yet to try it out on a night out or in the office but already feel it will work.
Totally recommended. Pretty unique.
Oh, and on me, it kicks like a beast. Really kicks. But sooooo nice.
Will check back on my review after an office and night out test drive.
Enjoy. I don't think you can go wrong with this.

Ruijanpallas

Great scent for the price. Very similar to Salvatore Ferragamo Uomo Signature but with added Cardamom. I think this one can be founded cheaper online than Salvatore one. I paid like 18€(20$) for 100ml bottle. Great for fall and winter for ages 22 and up.

Lefty&Medusa

This fragrance is awesome smells really really great love the honey saffron and tonka bean I love that it's not too Floral like a woman perfume but made perfect to my nose on my skin I get about seven to eight hours about 6 + 1/2 to 7 hours and becomes a skin smell on me that is really enjoyable whether I think will be fall and winter maybe on those spring cool days you'll be able to pull this one off but all the way around nice scent can't go wrong 4 30 bucks wearing shirt and jeans or maybe even a suit

M-as-Marin

Average floral sweet fragrance in a sea of the same kind of uninspired releases. Not a cheapy but goody(around 50 euros for 60ml) and DEFINATELY NOT a hidden gem, as some of the youtube reviewers would like you to think.

If it was in a 30 eur per 100 ml range it would be a good deal. Try it and don't rely on random youtube reviews since obviously, you don't have to do their bad choices as well. Thank you for your time.

5/10
Age range: Under 25
Clothing style: Casual mid- west revival screemo Kanye style:)

P.S. Jokes aside, it would be a good deal for a younger crowd. Too bad it's overpriced for what it offers.

Kaung

A nice floral fragrance with a touch of spices and sweetness. I get a little bit of lipsticky vibe even though Iris is not listed as a note. But not as overwhelming as DHI or Valentino Uomo Intense. It’s easy to wear, masculine and elegant. +8hrs longevity and shines beautifully in autumn/winter. Beautiful bottle and very fair price. It’s a win!!

CapitalNupe

This cologne smells great. It last 8 hours and has a sweet honey, flowery yet masculine and spicy kick to it. A great fragrance for only 28 dollars.

Happy Turtle

Sweet floral powdery scent. Opening smells amazing, dry down gets more powdery but still good. Only complaint is it can get overly sweet so best reserve it for cold weather. Beast mode projection and longevity plus super inexpensive. Has a bit of a Dior Homme/Valentino Uomo vibe from the violet and saffron, but smells unique with the honey and tonka notes. Definitely worth checking out!

dcjimr

The violet and patchouli overwhelm everything else in this scent. I don't really smell the honey, or detect much sweetness at all, for that matter. It's very intense to me. I'm not sure where I would wear this. Maybe great for goths who dress in all-black and want to wear something that is not going to make people feel warm and fuzzy. I feel like this is not even the same scent everyone else is describing. I took a shower and scrubbed pretty well but I can still smell it clearly (from two sprays), so great if you're looking for something long-lasting.

Anteatereatingant

I like this. The first couple of times I used it, it underwhelmed me...but it's grown on me since. I recently used it after months (I almost forgot I had it!) and thought 'Hey, this is actually really good!'

It's a soft-yet-resilient scent with surprising projection and longevity for something not particularly...obtrusive. It's smooth, slightly musky and woodsy, and powdery. It's sweet, yet still definitely something that smells good an a man. It's suave and elegant, but has some 'wildness' to it. A bit of a James Bond vibe - suave but slightly dangerous.

rushrocker

This falls somewhere in the range of scents like Tom Ford Noir Extreme, Salvatore Ferragamo Uomo, La Nuit De L'homme, CK Obsessed, Lanvin Avant Garde, etc...

It's a "generic" sweet fragrance with a powdery cleanness.

However, I must say it's quite an excellent fragrance.

It smells well put-together and I keep getting interesting whiffs coming from it. It is like 85% generic designer with a 15% touch of a unique old-school Habit Rouge style vibe with the powdery florals. I think this would be a good scent for someone who really likes mainstream date-night scents but wants a unique twist.

Also it has very good performance.

UPDATE:

The more I smell this the more I love it. It has this dark blue or purple candy vibe to it on the opening that is to die for. People below have mentioned this opening comes across like dark cherry or Guerlain L'homme Ideal. I agree with that, though to me the scent is "blue" or "purple" in smell rather than dark red. Then it morphs into my description above. Finally in comes this light touch of sweet musk that does not come off stale, but fresh and sensual. The musk mixes with what remains of the sweet, slightly powdery, dark candy vibe and carries the fragrance on your skin until it's gone. From beginning to end it smells great, I love that it has actual transitions and takes you on a journey. It's one of those scents that bridges sweet, seductive, fresh, clean, and everything else at the same time.

Also, I right away smelled the resemblance to CK Obsessed in this fragrance. Now that I check, same perfumer.

CheMalik

This is an excellent designer fragrance! Sweet and floral, without it being cloying. Performance with this is amazing. Projects for 2-3 hours with an equally lasting sillage. Becomes a skins scent for another 8hrs. This can be worn through all seasons, but shines best during those cooler temperatures. And the best thing about this is the price. You can find this on most online spots for under $40! A highly recommended compliment getter!

ftikhar

just today i wore it and got lots of compliments . yesterday i was wearing Creed GIT, surprisingly uomo got me same level of compliments- although both are different kind but frag quality and performance is quiet good.

highly recommended to guys who want high quality frag in such affordable price.

VMartone91

All in all for the price, this is well worth a shot by anyone! Exudes masculinity. Is very loud and very proud. It smells somewhat similar in the mid to Valentino Uomo Acqua.

This is also very similar to the other Cavalli I own, a flanker to this. Found a 100ml for a steal. Being that I love Silver Essence, I assumed, why not? I didn't look until I got home to check notes and reviews.

I am a lover of Violet in frags so I became excited when I saw the note break down. But it screams iris to me, I don't know what it is about this concoction that screams iris, but it does.

Sweetness up top, in my opinion the honey is most prominent there and in the mid a bit. Beyond that it is hard to pick out prominent notes for me. The violet is there, but as stated above comes off lipsticky like iris.

Quality and it's cheap, what more could you want?

Oldscents

Anyone out there wear Elizabeth Taylor Passion for men back in the day? The dry down of Uomo reminds me of it.

mamoodeh96

Remind me a bit of one million

When it comes to inexpensive designer houses, Roberto Cavalli is definitely up there as one of the best. This brand produces solid crowd-pleasers with decent longevity and sillage. Roberto Cavalli Uomo is fantastic and I can't wait to test this fragrance on my partner's skin.

Roberto Cavalli Uomo is a sweet, musky blend of violet, honey and cedar. It's definitely a sweet masculine scent with the dominant honey accord providing a somewhat syrupy and sugary aroma.

The heart and the base are a little powdery, partly due to the violet and lavender. I have noticed whilst scrolling through the reviews that this powdery aspect is either a love it or hate it. I personally enjoy it, but in so saying I think it would be wise to sample this fragrance before blind buying.

The longevity is superb, lasting a full eight hours on my skin. Roberto Cavalli Uomo could most certainly be unisex, as the sweetness wears quite well on my skin. Bottles of this fragrance are so incredibly cheap right now, so it would make an excellent choice for a gift on a budget.

I rather like the packaging too with its striking black and gold theme. I'm really surprised that Roberto Cavalli isn't more popular as they're sold pretty much everywhere in my city.

Oooh... I like this one, a lot. I agree with the reviewer below me, this is very unique and I’ve never really been into floral powdery scents except Pradas. There’s something very manly yet feminine about this one, but I wouldn’t consider this a unisex scent. The opening is a little harsh, but the magic happens in the drydown. I keep trying to figure out what this smells like to give you guys an example, but I just can’t place it. This is worth the buy, no regrets.

*Update* I figured out what this reminds me of. It’s another gem by Guerlain.
L’Homme Ideal Cologne Guerlain for men. It’s not exact, but it definitely has components from it. Both are incredible, good luck guys.

REVIEW - Roberto Cavalli Uomo

One Line Description - UNIQUE

What does it smell like? Early Dry Spring. Happy,Content, Natural smelling goodness. Mood lifting genuinely.

TOP - Uomo starts with a powdery lavender note with some spicy to kick added by the saffron. It's a powdery-spicy scent in the start. The powderyness is just like its in Dior Pour Homme or the extreme drydown of Pure Malt by TM and just like the latter it leaves a cooling soothing vibe on the skin from the moment you spray it off. Which kind of sets the tone for this fragrance. It starts of soothing and cool, now you can guess where it's going.

MID - Now the violet flowers start to show their magic. Scent at this phase starts to get a little cleaner but then the honey note kicks in. This honey note here is to die for. That's where a powdery clean scent turns slightly into a gourmanish blend with some cedar adding more natural fresh and happy vibe to it

Down - For me most of the scents go flat at the drydown but this one doesn't. Everytime i sniff the drydown I smell something else. From clean cedar. To sweet tonka-honey to sometimes malt-esque powdery posh lavender.

Summary - This is going to be a hit or miss. That's something you can never predict with a scent for someone. However,in my fragrance journey I have never come across a scent like this. It's just right for me and here's hoping its the same for everyone else.

It's niche. Artistic. And has a unique twist in the fragrance journey that this blend takes you on. Also, just a slight mention to the quality and blending which is top notch. Each note feels authentic and as if I'm smelling all of them in reality.

Usage - MEN/WOMEN above 25. It has a content vibe to it. Achieved and accomplished.

Performance - Longevity 6-8 Hours on skin. Didn't test on clothes.

Projection - Low to moderate. And for good reason. Sophistication and loudness shouldn't be in a bottle together.

Siliage - Amazing. Idk how. Still trying to figure it out. Though I applied it today in one end of my University lecture hall and after a few moments I received a text from on the other side asking whether I applied something, knowing my spraying habits.

Rating - 10/10 for me. Call me biased. Call me blown away. Amazing quality. You can go heavy on the sprayer. Dirt cheap for it's quality. And the.more you spray the soothing the experience is.

biff2

Nice juice and great value for money. Probably the longest lasting, highest projecting frag in my collection for 30 quid.

The honey is the signature note here and blends so easily with the violet and saffron. This could of been very sickly sweet, but it's quite well balanced, the powdery top is tamed well by the Woody base.

Not everyones cup of tea, but I like it. I think this could be a nice spring day or summer evening scent aswell.

8.3/10

Tonka Truck Bean

Black Violet powdery smokey goodness!

From the opening, I get a cherry and coco/chocolate note that reminds me of, Paco Rabanne Black XS and, Salvatore Ferragamo Uomo.
That blends into a honey, lavender, tonka bean/vanilla and black violet mid. Finishing with a dry, powdery, smokey black violet, honey and tonka bean.

Its sweet without being to sickly sweet. It's powerful, yet restrained. Classy and sexy

Beautiful! 9/10

RicciB

Somehow this reminds me of La Nuit de L'homme by YSL. Not that it's the exaxct same fragrance, cause it's not. But if you imagined a much sweeter, fresher version of La Nuit, then you're getting close to this one. It surprised me that cardamon isn't a note in here because I think I smell it. Definitely a evening scent. A love for me, hidden gem for sure. Caught me by surprise! Bought a 60ml after a sample.

Smileymiley

Nice fragrance has a nighttime feel good for dates nightclubs partys etc more suited in my opinion for winter than summer wear has a slightly different unusual feel and good longevity

SHORT REVIEW: Amazing scent with amazing sillage, projection and logevity. I love it 100%.
You must try it. You might love it or hate it. :)

Cavalli Uomo Amazing Winter Scent

SOTD: Roberto Cavalli Uomo: As of 01/21/19

Great winter scent for the quality and value, again I detect a floral note which is violet and lavender and then the spiciness of the saffron kicks in, and then the sweetness of the honey and Tonka bean finishes it off. Projection is average I get between 1-3hrs the most, longevity is close to beast mode to my skin. Is a must have and a good cheapie as well.

Rewriting my initial review. I've worn this a bunch now and it definitely reacts depending on the weather. It doesn't get too cloying as it's not sweet; but the florals are heavy in this so I won't attempt this when it gets hot.

For me, it's a more fun and playful experience than Mont Blanc Individuel. While MBI has raspberry and a clean laundry smell, this one stays floral and then gets a little ambery (honey?).

Reaction from my wife has been very positive...on the last wear she said it smells great in the air, when she pulled up close though, she said it smelled like peaches! weird. And while I can wear two sprays and project 2 feet radius for at least 4-6 hours, I'll stick to one spray and minimize the peachy cleanness I put out. Great buy! Wear a couple times before judging.

elsekymeky

I bought this fragrance blindly , this is my 2nd RC Frag, 1st one was JUST CAVALLI GOLD.
This is a Natural Spray, Black Violet and Saffron is very obvious from 1st spray, honey after few minuets, .

This is a very elegant mature fragrance, it's same category as PACO RABANNE, AZZARO HOME, KENZO HOMME, Versace Eros, Valentino, Dior Homme, and more like this, but of course different smell.

I'm falling in love more and more with the saffron that is divine in this fragrance! I have found the violet-honey agreement GENIALE! In short: From the beginning to the dry-down this fragrance is something beautiful.
PARTICULAR!

FreshTones

Affordable, nice bottle. Great sprayer. For what I paid, we're in the green so far.

The note breakdown is what you would expect. Violet blast right off the top with a bit of spice from the saffron. Anything violet to me is SUPER violet so I mostly get that at the opening. The violet sticks but it becomes more sweet in the middle, honey isn't distinguishable but I imagine that's what makes it so sweet. The lavender, again, is not distinguishable but gives it a powdery feel. The ISO-E/cedar peaks through in the drydown, some tonka keeping it in a sweetish kinda range. I do not smell the patch. Very nice floral for men, doesn't smell feminine to my nose but not uber-masculine either. Again, like anything violet, it's the dominant force. It smells a tad synthetic, possibly due to the fact that some notes aren't really well defined. Still, I like it.

Sillage was great for about 2 hours, longevity around 8. Well above expectations for a scent of this quality and price. I'm gonna say cooler weather, date night, night out. Not a summer frag for the office, for sure. All ages. I could see this being a compliment getter. All in all, if you like violet, this is pretty good.

zenais86

I really really like it but... i can't find that strong long lasting and sillage..sadly. it's really moderate... maybe reformulated?

Fendy1

Really nice and yes, amazingly good! I tested this one in the store after going through a range of top line fragrances, including Polo Red Extreme, SpiceBomb and Armani Eau de Nuit Oud - which are all great fragrances in themselves. This one was recommended by another staff member, and I compared the 'old' one with the 'newer one' - the newer one was in the same bottle (but I think it was to represent the silver version - this was confusing to me). So, after trying one on each arm, it seemed that the 'old' one, which I interpret to be this one, was stronger in performance and that really appealed to me. It is a very acceptable and a pleasing scent - refined and distinguished, rich, manly spicy and floral - very well balanced. If you wear this, it shows your gentlemanly taste in perfume fragrances, unswayed by the mass market hype. Purchased. Will update.

SHORT UPDATE - Verified nice! Tested again in the store - the Silver Essence version seemed a little bit weaker to me (but not according to my 6 year-old daughter). I think the Silver Essence has a sweeter Tonka bean in the dry down - the normal one is less sweet and seems to remain longer on the dry down with this sweetness - I like both. They both have a great violet stage which I feel continues to ride through the mid-notes, lavender seems less dominant which I really like.

The guy who created this fragrance is Christophe Raynaud - has an impressive list of creations (Issey Mikaye Pour Homme flankers, Joop WOW!, Paco Rabanne 1 Million range, and Harajuku Lovers flankers, among others) - so, he has what it takes to create an excellent fragrance.

Naeemlovesperfume

I love it. Smells alot like Paco rabanne million dollar prive

Cazz04

I got this in a fragrance subscription and it is the most amazing fragrance in the floral style I've tried. I love it!

I can't believe that it's price point is also very affordable. I can't wait to go and buy a bottle.

Ramii_Valentine

Honestly speaking I got this as a gift from my ex-lover and I never loved it, too strong almost gives me headaches everytime I use it. BUT! - the longevity and its penetrating power is exceptional.

It's too strong for my likings, Whenever I buy new perfumes I try to avoid getting similar perfumes

رهبر

WOW...
I've gone crazy. Best floral fragrance i've ever seen. I fall in love with violet although it doesn't smell good individually but you can find something worthy in it as he could.
I just can swear "IT IS THE BEST".
Thanks Emyalda for her suggestion.

yasserk17

highly appreciated by the ladies

OntheMark

I can't quite explain it, but the opening of this one is to me almost a dead ringer for Mont Blanc Presence -- this in spite of an almost complete absence of notes in common.

Having said that, RC Uomo is a bit sweeter and possesses a slight cedar/ISO-e edge that Presence doesn't -- which stands in for Presence's slightly bitter sage/cardamom note, rather brightening "Uomo" up. And while it certainly opens on the sweet side, I think the sweet aspect thankfully falls well short of such mainstream, cavity-inducing cloy-fests as Invictus or 1 Million and countless others. But it's still weirdly sweet with a strange herbal bitterness up front that I find a bit off-putting.

After a while, I notice a wisp of patchouli sneak out, adding a woodsy richness to the heart of this scent, bringing it to a more balanced if not totally new and groundbreaking place. The dry down is much more pleasant than the harsh top notes, but I'm not sure it's enough for me to like here.

mikemuscles21

Very generic and trendy, but also very beautiful and handsome.

Hani1710

a great scent, gd for evening even on summer, a fragrance for night, last abt 7/8 hours , overall 7.75/10

little.freak.69

this one is amazing
sexy, feels nice to wear, girls love it
problem is that it is not 'strong'... would have liked more projection+longevity...
but REALLY nice smell... delicious...

to me it feels like the kind a guy would wear when you already have the girl you want.. and just want to smell good when you are at a gathering she couldn't attend.. this cologne makes everyone in the room feel good to be around you... still makes you attractive but not the 'oozing with sex appeal' way that something like Kilian's Back to Black would make you

lespritz.1

Paid $17.99 for a 60ml at Shopper's Drug Mart. Never had a chance to smell it before anywhere, and it was cheap, so why not? Cheap indeed. Don't let the ballin'-brands fool you...this shows it's Coty-true colors...excess ISO'ey feeling, slight headache and wooziness. It does remind me of something I've smelled before...maybe close-ish to Davidoff's 'The Game'. Dunno if I hate or like this, but definitely don't love it, lol. You DON'T need this, or want it! Meanwhile, saw the same 60ml of this stuff on Amazon for $220.00! :O Crazy rip-off.

legion

Yes it's a bit generic. For those that don't know, violet especially when combined with sweet notes resembles the iris found in DHI/ Valentino uomo etc.

But in this case I find the combination of violet and sweet notes to be a friendlier, more accessible than iris heavy frags that I'm not particularly keen on. Good sillage, quite metrosexual, dense floral smell, nice bottle, very cheap.

It does not have me running back to the store to buy it but if these combinations of notes appeal to you or you are keen on something of the sort it is a Best In Class for me. As it goes on the wood and tonka bean give me a Midnight In Paris flashback.

I have got a sample and the few time i put just one whiff on my neck i get compliments, unbelievable!
Very good, pleasent and easy to wear not offending and suitable for all occasions. Plus it lasts forever (with just one whiff). A masterpiece.

Yup$ki

@Bigsly
I haven't smelt KH but based on descriptions in other reviews, i would say no. Cavalli on another level also..higher and better quality

Bigsly

Any similarities to KISS Him?

Yup$ki

This is an interesting one that grew on me. Didn't like (or hate) it at first, but it made me think , 'Meh, so what exactly does this supposed to smell like?'. On my 2nd sampling of this on a clean palate, this is darker green/powdery...just like the bottle. I must say it's pretty good and i see the hype..it's nice. What i like also is the depth of this mixture; smells something like what Joop would release in terms of sillage/concentration. So it's done right:)

I also notice this reminds me of what could be a darker version of CH Central Park, due to the green notes.

8/10

jjrr94

I LOVE this fragrance! It's like a violet flower hiding under a dark masculine cover... which makes it mysterious and with a slight vulnerable side, yet very outwardly masculine.

It is quite a simple fragrance as there are not many notes but the interplay is done perfectly for the desired outcome.. which for me is as I described above, extremely masculine yet mysterious.

I usually do not like floral fragrances but this one really stands out to me.

Projection is great and longevity is pretty good too.

JupiterMars

It is a beast.
Smell is very good.

I love it

I was at the office, I went to change my clothes and my colleagues were waiting for me to go home togheter. I sprayed myself with Cavalli Uomo. They talked among themselves and when I came out, I passed them and all fell silent, I can imagine how all were sniffing my scent. In my opinion, THAT'S THE BEST COMPLIMENT! (to stop all people around you from doing what they do and smell your scent).
This is one of my most complimented fragrances when I wear it. The women seem to really love it!

sandroscent

I seem to find this one very enjoyable and long lasting. And it seems after reading the reviews, I have the same batch number as the reviewer below me, Lockon. Is this possible? My batch number is also 6223. Any insight on that?

Lockon

Hmm, There's some dislikes I see.
So disregard the fragrance snobs...
Everyone's nose is different. I get that...
But if all you have to say is hateful things about this gem...The exit is on your left.
Now that's out the way, let me add my two cents in this.

This is an amazingly simple, but manly fragrance.
If you love a dark smoky, gourmand-ish fragrance.
Brother this scent is for you.
It's simply delicious and enters BEAST MODE (It projects, it last long and the sillage isn't a joke) YES!
Man, I believe I found a new favorite to add to my shelf.
Maybe strong enough to knock out my signature scent, Joop! Pour Homme.
I gotta give it another week, To see if it's worth the coup d'etat of Joop!.

I've received great comments thus far about this fragrance and I've only had it for one day.
Not a bad look.
I have to pick up back up bottles of this before others jump on the hype train. It gets discounted, reformulations, you know the story. I can't find in any, big-name retail stores...Outside of Roberto Cavalli Boutique & online discount fragrance stores.
It came out mid-2016 and no one broadcasted this?
Yeah...I guess.

But this will be a daily driver from now on.
This is worth a blind buy my friends, at least a decant.
And if you for some reason don't like it...Please hit me up and I'll take it off your hands. You can resell it and easily make your money back on eBay, Amazon. Letgo, Craiglist's, etc...

I used nine sprays...both wrist, behind my ears, back & front of my neck, chest, front and back of my shirt.
Will I buy this again?...Hell Yes!

This is a remarkable oriental perfume, where saffron plays an important role. It's powdery, floral, and a bit sweet, but truly and extensively masculine with the way wood and saffron are introduced. I find it creative and head turning.

fragrand

Nice scent. My opinion: a masculin version of TF Black Orchid

Arbre Amer

This is an interesting concoction by Cavalli, a brand for which I had no interest until now. This one caught my attention with its soft floral flare which reminds me of baby products but hides underneath it a much more serious, perhaps even old fashioned base, slightly reminiscent of Kouros. I definitely detect an animalic note hiding in its heart, perhaps that alleged "honey"? It comes through as slightly sweaty, not in a bad way, just enough to make this pleasantly naughty ;-)

Not terribly innovative or complex. Lasts well but with discreet projection. Good for springtime

houss

It is a very long lasting perfume, just don't judge once you spray it. you will feel it is a bit strong , definitely! just wait a little, one hour and it will decay a bit, spreading a stunning odor. Its flowery but elegant. It does not hurt your nose. you may feel it is familiar, but I think its like bringing some known odors mixed beautifully with some secret one, or at least mixing them in a well thought proportions.

ismailkizilbay

groover

Wore this today for the first time
this winter and i must admit i love
the smell, this is a very underrated
one, there are so many worse releases
in 2016 imo, i even like this better than
Armani code prufomo. Dont let the bad reviews
scare you try it yourself you might like it as well.

Junaid777

I tried it and i must say its not a bad perfume at all. Infact its pretty long lasting with strong leather, honey notes.

That said its a out and out winter scent so in my opinion not bad at all. It gives a pretty sophisticated vibe about you.

tonyflash

I got this as a present. In my opinion, it's not a masterpiece or anything like that. I'd say it's a decent perfume. BUT, this, believe me or not, is one of the best compliment-getters for me. I couldn't believe it either, but there it is, both from women and men. Women love it. I'd say that it has the slightly opening note of One Million, which I'm not a fan of.
Smell: 6.5/10
Projection: 9.5/10
Longevity: 10/10

nightcutter

The top notes are a disagreeable shrieky peppery leather but 15 minutes later it becomes much more palatable. This smells like a mix of Diesel Bad and Burberry Brit Rhythm. It's perfectly nice but yes it does smell current/generic. Despite that, I like it.

VolatileTimes

When I smell perfumes like this one I wonder if contemporary market only targets at under 25. Who, above that age, would ever wear this? And who would outside of a club?
Fashion brands should really reconsider their potential buyers. If I were a teenager I'd rather buy Nike perfumes, MTV perfumes and save my money.
No need to spend words about the scent itself : heavy, sweet, long-lasting, identical to a hundred other branded bottles out there.

sniffmaster

I have no clue how on earth these beautifully constructed notes above had managed to craft such an aweful disgusting scent!! Need an expert explanation please.

GRAF

This is a youthful club scent, a bubblegum smell similar to 1 Millon by PR. Nothing special, very nice present for a teenager. Nice, strong but if you already have 1Million or Eros or Salvatore Uomo.. etc doesn't worth buying it.

lovetribe

I had such high hopes about this perfume that were partly dashed. It is not a bad smell, but I was expecting a floral brighter and instead is rather dark, but not the nice one dark, is a sweet dark. great performance. at the beginning it is not clear in which direction to go, then it seems to go in the direction armani code perfume with a touch of flowers and in the end, however, it remains a dark sweet little floral. I had such high hopes on this, and in part have been dashed. sometimes it reminds me of my hated bvlgari black. generic rating 6/10. very generic.

antonpan

Maybe the worst fragrance I've smelled in years! So low quality. An unwearable mix of synthetic violets, leather and fruits. Imagine Tuscan Leather done of the cheapest components available at the market and dilluted 10 times, and you will get Cavalli Uomo.

mell

I was very surprised by this fragrance I was given a card with it sprayed on as I walked through a department store. I put it in my pocket and forgot about it. Later I kept wondering what this delicious smell was . When I eventually found it I was amazed . Where as I am happy to wear unisex fragrances I am usually not a fan of male fragrances but if my man smelled like this I would be very happy indeed. I do not consider it to be a feminine scent . It is powdery and has a certain warmth but it is definitely masculine .And yummy .

victor.ali

Floral, aromatic, fresh. Pleasant surprise from Cavalli.

Edemay

Unlike any mens fragrance I've smelt yet
Aromatic, sweet and woody but not in an over-the-top way. Like i found with dunhill.
And i didn't find it feminine at all.
The florals in this are not light or powdery, but dark and damp.
A really interesting and different scent, i like it.

Edit: On the skin, there is an apparent leather note.

thefifthg

I tested this at a retailer today (August 10th 2016) and I wanted to add a possitive review.
This is a pleasant and easy to wear entry from Cavalli.
The originality factor isn't very high as I've smelled similar fragrances multiple times in the past.
That being said if you like the house of Roberto Cavalli and want to have a masculine staple from the house this is not a bad start.
Roberto Cavalli Gold for Him was a very weak release in my opinion (Gold for Her is wonderful though) and this goes a long way to rectify this situation.

danny66

Didnt like it. The first floral notes are way to strong and they gave me a feminine vibrations for the next 12+ hours. A monotonous perfume IMHO.
Longevity is very good (12 hours+) and the same with projection.
