Sisley Eau de 2 by Sisley is a Chypre Floral fragrance for women. Sisley Eau de 2 was launched in 2009. Top notes are Bergamot, Basil and Cardamom; middle notes are Cyclamen, Iris, Jasmine and Rose; base notes are Virginia Cedar, Vetiver, Patchouli and Sandalwood.

Three new fragrances by the house of Sisley have been presented. They are sparkling and simple in their elegance, just like a beautiful summer dress teased by breezes that move its pleats. The fragrances were created as three sisters or three faces of the same woman and they are marked with numbers – 1, 2 and 3.

Sisley Eau de 2 is created as fresh and clean. It starts with a green sonata of bergamot, basil and cardamom, adding aquatic iris, Egyptian jasmine, cyclamen and rose, whereas base notes comprise depth and a warm trail of a chypre-woody combination of patchouli, cedar, vetiver and sandalwood.

The flacons are made of glass, with a stopper characteristic of the Sisley brand. The stopper was designed by Polish sculptor Bronislaw Krzysztof. All three fragrances are available as 100ml (3, 4 oz) EDP and they arrive on the market in April 2009.

To me this is how Exeter smells, mainly because I bought it there and because I smelt of it for an entire day in the glorious sunshine. The story goes something like this; after a lengthy dispute with a well-known UK department store over a damaged washing machine and a replacement machine not being delivered, I got given a gift card as a goodwill gesture as well as my refund, this, conveniently happened on the day myself and Mr Gin went off to Exeter.

I wandered into the perfume/beauty hall of the Exeter store and spritzed myself with abandon, I knew I wanted to get Cartier Luxuriance since it was something I could not stop sampling every time I saw it, but, I spotted a Sisley counter and as most of you know, I do LOVE Sisley, to the point where I almost hate myself for loving Sisley because of their hefty price tags (WHYYYYY must Sisley face masks and fragrances be so damn good?!) but armed with my gift card, I was not afraid to look.

I sampled Sisley 2, Eau Tropicale and I also tested Izia and Soir D'orient, but given how hot it was I decided to try Sisley 2 on my arm. I wandered off to explore the rest of Exeter while it developed, but deep down I knew full well I'd buy Sisley 1 for three reasons; its crisp and cooling, I love the green/gin vibes I get from it and it reminds me of my beloved, discontinued Issey Miyake A Scent. While exploring I kept getting these wonderful, airy wafts of crisp cold citrus, green basil and almost aquatic cyclamen, I waddled back and duly bought a 100ml bottle of Sisley 2!

The bottle is true to Sisley's eccentric, elegant style; a smooth cylindrical flacon with a smooth sculpted stopper which feels delightful to hold. The opening feels fresh and cooling, sharp begamot mixes with the green hues of basil and instantly washes a wave of refreshing coolness over me. The cool and crisp opening has depth and lasts a good 25 minutes before it eases up slightly and a lush oasis of cyclamen and water iris appear but with the basil and cardamom in the background along with jasmine, the florals never become too aquatic or blousy smelling. Its fresh, preppy and well rounded, even in the dry down the light aquatic touches give the dry, woodsy notes in the base some life and lift them to be something a bit different, also, if you dislike patchouli, its pretty much non detectable to my nose in here, so don't let that put you off try this.

The longevity is decent, 6-7hrs with an intimate, airy silage. This one is reserved specifically reserved in my wardrobe for the summer, its fresh, cooling and something different to the usual summer scents I gravitate towards. Perfect for the office and for casual summer days out, I can imagine spraying this on after a dip in the sea as well and feeling totally serene and fresh.
I absolutely love this and I'm so glad I got a 100ml bottle, an unexpected love!

Sisley 2 is a timeless beauty, who is unisex but leans softly and gently to the feminine side to me.

It has a fresh explosive opening (bergamot) and at the same time unique and elegant, it is what I like most about this fragrance, it is not forgettable, it is very recognizable. Of the three Eau de Sisleys, this is the one I like the most. Youth in a bottle...

To culminate with a certain solidity, the fragrance is joined by cedar, I love cedar and in Sisley's house it is masterful.

Very summery, happy, casual... with her there are no problems, there are no inconveniences, everything is light and sun and smiles.

-Smells like the interior of an Aesop or Le Labo store.
-Nondescript blend of stuff that's supposed to make perfumes smell herbal, refined and expensive. (-)

Blown away by this after I got a sample and sprayed it on the bed (being sure I'd hate it on myself). It starts off with a masculine/fresh showery feel - lime - for 30 min it screams sourness and freshness. It's like you can actually feel a fresh breeze in your face. It stays with you for a while and then you get the woody notes - Cedar and some vetiver, but not the really masculine one as in Terre d'Hermes, something else, subtle and sooo sexy. It smells like rain in the mountain forests, it's unbelievably appealing and sexy.
Definitely a safe office scent on a very sophisticated woman or a cool guy. Doesn't last long, needs reapplying at cca 3-4h. Too bad it's almost impossible to find at a decent price. But grab it if you have the chance, it is exquisite.

I read the reviews on this, and I find it hard to believe they are describing Sisley Eau de 2.
This has been one of my go to fragrances for a decade. I love it. I adore the smell going on, and love the way is dries and develops over the day. I morphs into something completely different - curious, secretive. It does not scream, you wear it not vice versa.
I think it is well worth the money.
I have had all the main Sisley fragrances, and whilst I love some of them on other people, I find them invasive and distracting on me.
No 2 is my No 1.

I don’t find many analogies with Sisley Eau de Campagne. I owe l’Erbolario Fior di Salina and this one is very similar, although less aquatic. Longevity is as expected from a fresh EdT and so the sillage. Pleasant but nothing special and certainly not worth the full price tag.

I was soo excited to get a sample of this! On paper all the notes are right up my alley and I'm currently searching for a strong cardamom perfume!

First sprayed its a very strong, zesty, citrus blast. A stringent and bitter scent that I actually quite enjoyed, a blast of fresh air for a hot summers day.

After a half hour on my skin the citrus evaporated leaving a strong spicy, woody aroma. I don't know if its my skin but the vetiver was amped up to 11! To the point of being overpowering and I couldn't smell a single flower at all!

I strongly disagree with gendering perfumes, you can either rock a scent or not regardless of your genitalia - however on my skin this was super duper masculine, I blame the vetiver which my skin seems to project. In fact despite washing my wrist I could still smell it lingering hours later!

This perfume reminded me strongly of my dad so I'm sending him the sample, I hope he likes it, but doesn't over spray it as or skin really projects this stuff

Sisley Eau de 2 is the second instalment in this range. I'm very on the fence in regards to the way I feel about this fragrance. I neither love it or hate it.

Eau de 2 is not as masculine smelling as Sisley's Eau de 1; it's genderless. This fragrance is quite zesty and green, even a tad sharp at times. The most dominant notes to my nose include bergamot, basil, vetiver and cedar. Of all the three scents from this range, Eau de 2 has the biggest throw and the best lasting power.

I would describe Eau de 2 as a herbaceous citrus scent. It has a fresh, sparkling bergamot orange opening on my skin, further heightened with aromatic basil and spicy cardamom. The dry down smells more masculine with an almost aquatic blend of salty vetiver and damp cedarwood.

In Australia, we have had a hotter than usual Summer and the trio from Sisley were greatly needed. I enjoyed wearing them immensely and highly recommend those that live in a warm climate to thoroughly explore the Sisley fragrance line. They make beautiful Summer appropriate scents.

Absolute elegance in a bottle!
Perfectly blended fruits, flowers and spices.
Reminds me somehow like Kenzo Power, Escentric Molecules Molecule No2 and Hermes Rose Amazone and Jardin Apres A La Mousson.
I love it and now I´m happy to own it.
Highly recommend for both sexes.

Very herbal and woody. Nice, clean, but too green for me. It also reminds me a scent of a herbal shampoo.

Great fragrance ... longlasting and strong.. also it can be unisex, sharp and fresh.. love it..

PastelMoon

I would say it is more of an aromatic scent, rather than an actual chypre. Dry, floral-vegetal would be a great way to describe it, although it has a zingy sour touch as well.
It feels young, yet quite sophisticated.

I can definitely sense cyclamen here and it is beautifully done, subtly sweet to counter the bitterness. It creates a little bit of a contrast and provides with a layered feel.

It also smells rather piney on my skin and I can help but adore it.

It dies out smelling like a green bubblebath or like a high end spa. Love it.

Ottimo profumo, olfattivamente naturale. Forti le note di basilico e vetiver, mentre le altre rappresentano solo comparse. Questo profumo personalmente credo che sia un' ode alla natura. Lo consiglio vivamente a chi è alla ricerca di un prodotto non artificiale.

These days I'm quite sceptical when receiving vials since I do not like at all the patisserie kind of perfumery that is present nowadays, but fortunately I was given this one, a chypre floral starting green and spicy. Even though it's not a perfume I particularly like because of some synthetic edge I get on my skin and so I wouldn't buy it for myself, the pleasant part is that it's at least reminiscent of perfumery rather than patisserie. I've also started to extremely appreciate things that I once took for granted in perfumery: a rich, well-rounded composition without the sharp off-putting chemical smell which I find in a great number of new releases today. And of course, a dedication to the Artistry, the inspiration and sensibility. The Art of making a bold, unique, eloquent olfactory creation rather than the mainstream best seller exploiting every single opportunity in the name of the profit with the resulting lowering of the criteria.
The green, fresh opening in Eau de 2 is soon permeated with florals, I can't detect the individual flowers, just a general floral pattern lingering in a very distance, with bitter, spicy edge and a distinguishable cedar and dry vetiver drydown, a quite masculine phase actually. Still, there is a certain unpleasant sharpness I get, especially in the first stage, at least on my skin, but the drydown is more pleasant since the sharp part is less present. I've tried it only once, the opening is loud nevertheless the scent fades quite quickly.

I have had a bottle of this for a couple of years and only worn it once or twice - I love it but find it incredibly powerful and a little shouty. I recently tried layering it with CDG Odeur 53 and found that the blend is utterly magical - the CDG takes the loud, perfumey edge off and creates a greener, subtler smell.

xaycparty

A sophisticated scent for someone in their 20s. I would wear this to the office, but I don't work at one, so I just wear it whenever I go to formal summer/spring events (though at one point, this was my everyday go-to). It's a little odd, but I love it.

Lana148

Opens with bergamot, basil and cardamom. Dries down to pleasant, aromatic, perfumey, green & citrusy scent. I can't detect any floral.

I don't love it only like it. It's a bit too harsh and too "parfumey" for me, but I would still recommend to try it for "green" fragrance lovers!

The best out of three Eau de Sisley.

Tintorra

Came to the shop to try another perfume when the lady wanted to let me try something different. That was Eau the Sisley 2. At first I rather liked the sharp bergamot and she made me a sample of it. Now at home I feel like I smell like a cristmas tree decorated with Iris. Reminds me slightly of Prada's Infusion d'iris which is a lot more powdery where Sisley is harsh. It is fresh though, but for me way too masculine. I do not feel comfortable wearing this.

Elisa S

I love the fresh-spicy top and the warm and soft-spicy, woody and comforting base.
But the middle is not for me - in this phase, I think it smells too shampooish.

Mila Pulina

I really like it - very elegant and not overpowering...I could not stand Eau de 1 and Eau de 3 from Sisley though.

tourmali45

Started very woody and cirtusy, warm and zesty, but... This nicety was over in 10 minutes flat - after that ony ugly synthetic smell you want to get rid of. Reminds me of the least successful dates: promises, intrigue, 2 minutes and all is over. Ugh.

Necabel

***

They offered me a sample and told me she wore tangerine. My surprise was the realization that no, but really does remember to peel mandarins when still green.

It is a clean and pleasant scent, very spring. Do not buy it because it goes with my personality and was'nt too early, but I think for fans of this type of fragrance is fine, it's the one I like.

alfarom

Pretty decent yet unpretentious concoction of fizzy citruses joined by fresh and aromatic green notes, some spices and very nice floral patterns. The whole composition is supported by a nicely blanded "woods-and-vetiver" base.

Transparent and fresh, probably even a tad dull yet incredibly pleasant if you're into lighter green fragrances. Perfect for spring.

a horrible infusion of cheap vetiver and cedar. with pungent citrus notes.
overall not my cup of tea. reminds me of airfreshner used in public toilets.

My younger alternative to Sisley Eau de soir. While Eau de soir makes me feel like a queen. Eau de 2 makes me feel a princess. Very unique scent and distinguished unlike others sweet sugary fragrances out on the mass market. It is very clean, refreshing and great for summer.my lady friends likes it more than men. I like wearing it out with my females friends or just enjoy it privately.

Hello Iso E Super! This fragrance is long lasting and watery, not my type ...

NebraskaLovesScent

Wow! Eau de Sisley 2 smells so much like a big bar of Zest or Coast soap (two popular supermarket soap brands here in the States). I had to spray it again just a few minutes later to be sure I wasn't mistaken. It opens on my skin as a pure, fresh, clean soap aroma with a slight green edge (probably the lime).

Over time, it becomes more perfume-y and dries down to a nice chypre-wood base with lots of cedar and vetiver. As others have noted, I don't detect much in the way of floral notes.

My final thoughts: it's a pleasant unisex fragrance with decent sillage and longevity. I probably won't purchase a bottle since my fellow Americans are likely to assume I just showered with a strong-smelling supermarket soap, rather than appreciating the high quality and high price of this lovely perfume.

zvoncica

It is also my favorite among the 3 new releases from Sisley.

Top notes are strong and bitterly green, reminded me on freshly cut grass in the spring. Time that passes awakes spicy depth mixed with floral notes.

It is morning, fresh and dew meadow scent trapped in the bottle. And the bottle has tiptop style.

Lasts longer than other two, but also tends to faile in power rather fast.

Can it have signature scent position?
Not for me although I like bitter flavors in perfumes. The price as well as the bottle size are big turn offs.

Would I recommend it?
Yes, if you appreciate green florals.

Sisley Eau de 2

I could swear I smelled ginger here.

This one is less citrusy, more spicy, herbal and green. I don't get any flowers.
This one is my favourite of the three.
I prefer Eau de Campagne, though ;)
