Definitely more gourmand than ‘62, and creates a nice scent bubble. I strangely had this extremely strong scent association with the dentist/orthodontist when smelling it on my skin though ..?? I can’t explain it well, but I had a less intense but similar problem with BR540 where the smell in the air was so nice but on skin it goes medical/metallic. I wanted to love and thought I would since I’m all about sweet scents, but idk. I’m the problem, it’s me.. 😪

liquidangel

smells like a warm stroopwafel such a delicious scent more for autumn

BlossomBrain

Bitter buttered popcorn. I wasn't expecting anything close to it. I don't get any sweet scent too. Instead I would describe it as baking with my cat's litter box sand. Truly, What the fuck.

dv_67

After trying it for a couple months here and there, I've finally decided to declutter this. It's ridiculously too sweet and cloying. I did like it which is why I kept trying it, but it's too much. Even though I'm 100% a gourmand person, this was too lactonic, too cloying. It reminds me a lot of Christmas Cookies by B&BW which is also too lactonic for my taste. I will stick to more straight vanillas

teutblegut

The best words to describe this scent are 'cinema caramel popcorn'. I really love it though it doesn't last a very long time. The best way to wear this is on top of a body oil as it can make it last longer that way. You should definitely try it on your skin first as it doesn't work for everyone's body chemistry and the drydown can be very different. Overall the price is pretty good for what you get and I personally think it's worth, especially if you're a gourmand girlie!

connie777

I love this fragrance ,to me it smells exactly like honey nut cheerios ,very cookie-like.Sweet cozy and inviting it’s amazing for fall and especially winter, this fragrance always grants me compliments in those seasons.

However, it does not work in warmer weather at ALL and this is where i see people getting the cloying, horrible piss like scent from.

I see some people comparing this scent to popcorn and honestly i don’t see it, maybe it’s because of how buttery the popcorn is in America?

Overall, a great gourmand for cooler seasons however i do recommend you smell before buying as it’s a controversial scent.

8.5/10 :)

Everytime I pass the Sol de Janeiro aisle at Sephora I see someone smelling this and saying it smells like popcorn. It did smell like rich, buttery caramel popcorn to me as well when I first tried it. Not burnt though, I don't know where some people get burnt popcorn from. Now it just smells like sweet caramel cookies and bakery items. It's a true gourmand fragrance, for people who like really sweet scents.
When I first spray it it's very strong so I do have to hold my breath for a few seconds after haha but the lasting power is okay, not as good as 62 but better than some other SDJ body mists. It's perfect for cold weather, not sure that I would wear it during summer.

vaïmitirizz

With this fragrance I understood why some perfumes are better worn during some type of weather. I love this body mist, and actually I think it's one of my favorite fragrances ever.
First spray smells of everything, salted caramel, smell of golden cookies right out of the oven, deliciousness of the white chocolate, strong delicious nuttiness.

But I live in a tropical climate, and I blind bought this without even looking at the reviews. Worn it straight after buying it, and the first spray was OOMPH DELICIOUS. But after 20min, my friend and I wondered what the weird smell of dirty old popcorn was, as if you burnt caramel in your kitchen in that old pan because you were busy elsewhere and the smell just strikes you.
I tried it again at home and still loved it, and did not find the weird smell.
I then spent a few weeks in a relatively cold climate (≈ 15°C at night, not more than 24°C by day) and wore it during the nights. Everyone said I smelled nice, delicious, as if I walked with a tray of cookies. But I was also told I smelled pretty. I read some reviews saying 71 just smells edible, and it strongly does, but it also smells pretty, like actual perfume, you do not just smell like a cookie, people recognize that you are wearing some nice, unusual yes, fragrance. And the fragrance did not turn weird. It dried down to a beautiful nutty white chocolate, a very round, comforting smell. It actually filled the room and had a longevity of around 5 to 6 hours. After you can still smell it on your skin but you have to put your nose on your skin haha.

I was pleased and thought my first misadventure was just due to the fact that it was the first spray or something like that. I tried it again back home, and it was horrible. We were in the middle of a very hot summer, and summer here means HUMIDITY and storms. I'm talking about very humid hot weather. Worst climate ever for this fragrance. Wore it in day time and forgot about it, went about my day and at some point while I was walking, I was struck by some really weird sweaty-piss smell that followed me everywhere. Turns out it was the mist that had gone bad. I don't know if it's the salt accord or the white chocolate (which is just butter, and with the macadamia it does not help) but they do not stand hot humid weather.
My brother immediately noticed the smell in my car and said it smelled like weird electric cigarette stuff, almost cold tobacco.
I like to spray it at night, but my mom says it smells like those weird parts of fun fares, during the last days, when remnants of old popcorn, old chocolate and old cotton candy drench the floor. Very sticky unpleasant smell.

Well right now we are in winter time and once again, the fragrance turned nice.
I still chose the heart eyes emoji because I really like this body mist, it has good longevity, I am a big gourmand fragrance lover, and I like unusual yet comforting fragrances. But, please, never wear this in a hot humid weather. On the Sol de Janeiro Instagram stories, I see people wearing it on the beach: I guess it can tolerate European summer, like temperate summer, no further south than Switzerland or something. Even a dry summer. But not higher than 25°C and especially not in a humid climate, this is not a tropical island friendly fragrance.

konjacjellie

this shit ACTUALLY smells like cat pee on my skin, and i'm not kidding. baked goods with a cat piss glaze, if thats your type of thing i guess.

Tickado

I have to be in the right mood for this one. And that mood is 'wanting to smell like edible buttery popcorn'. Sometimes it's NOT for me, but somedays it really is. I feel like I wear it more for myself than for other people. It's just a comforting sickly sweet buttery delight

spdfnotation

By far my favorite scent ever, people say I smell like cake and cookies when I wear this. It's my definition of "gourmand" and it's really strong for a body spray. Sol de janeiro PLEASE release a cream and a perfume for cheirosa 71

LaNena

I work at a hospital and spray this on in the car before I clock in. My job involves very bad smells and I need something pleasant to smell to ground me during the night. I have gotten so many compliments, either “you smell so good” “something smells so good” or “you smell like cookies!” A doctor walking down the hall asked me if someone on the unit brought in donuts because he smelled them. I can’t smell it on me so much anymore but the scent stays on my sweatshirt for days and I get still compliments on it 6 hours into my shift from people in close contact with me. I would not wear this outside during the summer. If any one has any recommendations for a summer/heat friendly similar fragrance, please share!

Ziva99

Very delicious sweet smell like a town bakery.
Also It’s very young and casual smell. It’s suitable for teenagers to early 20’s.

- Longevity more than 4hours with 2 or 3 pushes.

I didn’t take cuz it was TOO MUCH, CHOKINGLY SWEET for me. Pls kindly TRY BEFORE YOU BUY.

stephyk

smells absolutely delicious in general, like a sweet bakery. No woody or powdery notes, making it smell extra yummy and edible.
But personally, it's a little overly sweet and overwhelming for daily use.
It doesn't last very long as its only a body spray, so you'd need to bring it out with you if u wanna smell all day.
The tonka bean is very nice and noticeable after an hour or two, and is probably my favourite part as it isn't overwhelming.
I don't think i'd be using it on myself again, but if i ever need to spray an object i just use this lol.

caseyuggen1

Layered with Eau so Sexy by VS, this reminds me of Angels Share...

pureangelgirl

pleasantly surprised by this sweetie ( i used to think i was pretentious about perfumes ), the moment i smelled it, i felt it was straight-up vanilla ice cream, the other thing i picture is a soft cookie with white chocolate chunks in it. i love spraying this in my hair, it smells all day long :) i also spray it on my coat, it has an incredible trail considering it is just a body spray. believe it or not, sometimes when i spray it i literally start coughing, it is genuinely super strong.

athenarome

So yummy. Makes you smell like a cookie. Cheaper dupe for Bianco Latte Giardini Di Toscana.

forestpisces

I will argue that this is the best gourmand fragrance out there. It's not the expensive mature kind, it smells very comforting and it ACTUALLY smells like creamy baked goods you wanna bite into and not like a perfume. Doesn't have that cheap smell a lot of body sprays have.

iluvhotcocoa

so so so good! it smells like fresh-baked macadamia nut cookies, buttery caramel and vanilla. since they're no woody, fruity, or floral notes only buy this if you like HEAVY gourmands, dont expect this to be light. SDJ sprays don't have the best longevity on the skin, spray your hair brush, clothes, and wear body cream with similar notes to make it last longer! i love this body spray, its my signature scent, and i recommend to all gorumand girls !🧸🧺🍪 🍮

booksandcats457

This is a pure, very sweet gourmand - no florals or woody notes or anything else to break up the sweetness. You will smell like cookies and vanilla.

Personally, I am one of the people who gets “buttered popcorn” off the top notes, however, as it dries down I do get the “cookies baking” smell as well. Very reminiscent of a vanilla BBW spray, or a candle (can’t think which one but this definitely reminds me of something). Definitely a cold-weather scent. I look forward to wearing this around the holidays.

Sakara7

Beat body spray ever, one spray will do when you’re spraying in public, at home it’s your decision depending on if you like to ‘overspray’ or not. It’s like a salted butter caramel popcorn with Brazil nuts melted in with the caramel coating. Perhaps a couple small white chocolate pieces but I don’t smell them as much.
I love this.

Ayshin

This is just too sweet and OFFENSIVE
Blind buy this because it's inexpensive anyway. Turned out I can't wear this without offending my own self. I can't bear to cause discomfort to other by wearing it to work
If you are into super sweet gourmand vanilla, this is your cheap bet.

lilliana01

Salty and inexplicably greasy. A photorealistic movie theatre floor.

hevke

omg u will literally smell like salted caramel cookies!

although it doesn't last like a perfume, i still wouldn't recommend overspraying as its very sweet. keep it on u to freshen up if u wanna smell good all day!

Candypopinlove

To reiterate the points made by @epke and @Ellster, this perfume is wayyyyy too cloying!!! I honestly hate this body spray but it's not an inherently bad scent. I feel like it would be better suited as a candle lol! but as a fragrance it makes me gag. If you want to smell like buttery popcorn then this is the one for you, otherwise I would recommend staying far away from it!

EmsSignatureScent

I sprayed this in Selfridges and instantly fell in love. It's nutty, warm, made me super hungry... it smelled like caramel cookie GOODNESS. Probably one of the best things I'd ever smelled.

Obviously came on here to see what people were saying and saw the urine thing... and I couldn't smell it at all. HOWEVER, after having it for a fair few months, I now smell it. I'm not sure if it's developed after having it for a while but it does have a faint urine odor. Massive shame because I thought I'd hit the jackpot.

I do think there's a silver lining though. When I spray it on my skin and not on clothes, I feel like it retains that caramel sweetness. Sprayed on a top the other day and that pee thing was unbearable. I think if you spray this as soon as you're out the shower, layered with other similar scents, it works a treat. Longevity isn't amazing but good enough if you are okay with reapplying! I hope this helps someone

autumnblue914

I am in love. This is so good. Sugary cookie vanilla paradise, but still light and creamy and not overbearing. I was initially skeptical of the reviews and marketing, and I'm not into the body mists because of the lasting power, but the smell is so good that I don't care at all.

I have their hair leave in conditioner which smells like 62, so I'll try that out tonight also. I expect it to smell heavenly too!

I have a sample of What About Pop and I will say that 71 is similar to it, the macademia nut really smells like the buttered popcorn note in the opening because of the nuttiness, but after the opening it is predominantly cookie goodness.

Therefore, if the popcorn is your goal, you will find it in 71, but if you want it to last longer then What About Pop is for that. For me, What About Pop is so expensive that I can't justify it, so I'll just keep bathing myself in 71 instead. They aren't exact dupes at all, but 71 is a sufficient replacement.

onlykristeno

Addicted. As a teenager, I used the whole 3fl oz bottle in around 2 months. Been looking everywhere for a longer-lasting perfume like this but I suppose 3 sprays of this after every class will do lol. I can see how it's not suitable for lots of people its a very niche scent. And yes, I started to smell the buttered popcorn when I started to finish the bottle and it lasts 45 max on me but I'll buy 200 more of these any day. I can't find anything like it!! (Someone pls tell me some longer-lasting perfumes like this!!)

tiffpie

PEOPLE NEED to give this a chance. the initial spray MIGHT (not for me) smell like buttered popcorn for maybe 5-7 seconds and then it dries down into a beautiful vanilla cookie scent with caramel drizzle on top. i personally don't even get the popcorn smell everyone is talking about. this smells like straight up cookies, milkshake, and caramel to me!

Jazminerenault

Super sultry. Can wear day or night, can wear any season but colder months are better suited. If you love sweet smells like baked cookies highly recommend. Pulls you in and eaves you there.

Starliiie

Saying this smells like buttered popcorn or piss is downright wrong, it’s neither, and if they still insist that it smells like urine or popcorn in any way then they must get their noses checked ASAP. SDJ 71 is a sweet caramel body mist with a big drop of macadamia nut and a hint of vanilla to it. It’s sweet, youthful, girly, and makes you smell like a dessert. I’d buy this if it was a million bucks. I wore it so much that the body mist started to dye my wrists and neck

babyblueheaven

this is the sweetest perfume ever!! bury me w this i'm in love

ohsointricate

warm, nutty, lactonic, a little smoky scent upon first spray. it is delicious and certainly edible. i remember trying to wear this in the summertime and someone mentioned the popcorn smell. i noticed it was definitely more buttery, syrupy and sour in the summer (this could have been from my sweat mixing with it tho.) still, i’m thinking it’s better for the colder days, staying inside cozy on the couch. really doesn’t seem to last, i wish body mists were like $10 for how long they last and how weak the sillage is.

Ellster

I couldn’t have worded it better than @epke it is so horribly cloying and offensively putrid. Wow. How was this even approved. I feel so bad for everyone who has spent money on this, or trusted the overwhelmingly positive reviews. Please. Smell this before buying.

epke

By the notes and my love for gourmands, this should've been a win. I bought decants of the 71 and 69, and started with this.

This is the first time I truly understood what the word "cloying" meant. One spritz and the smell immediately clawed into my mouth, clogged my pores, and bumbled its way up through my nose and into my brain like a drunk, peg-legged rhino. Immediate headache. Immediate yuck. I tried to stick it out, but it had to be scrubbed off after five minutes.

On an objective note, the notes are all there; macadamia, to me, shines the brightest - not a creamy hint that Bianco Latte does beautifully, but like a clotted cream - followed by a slightly clumsy blend of caramel and vanilla that smell like they're fighting each other. Unfortunately the coconut, which I hoped would lend some brightness to the smell, only weighed it down. The reviews ARE true: it definitely smells like the butteriest popcorn I've ever smelled. It's just too much.
It's all just really, really HEAVY. I can't imagine what would happen to this smell on a warmer day. I'm happy for everyone who enjoys it, but this will go to the back of the shelf.

v0n

The only one I like in the SDJ line. I have not tried it on my skin though 🫠 will update!

Sombra

I don’t understand all these negative reviews below.
I think this is a deliciously smelling body mist, sweet, warm, sugary, lactonic, gourmand. This smells like some fresh bakery based on brown sugar, warm spices, condensed milk, hot caramel. A feeling of biting some delicious hot dessert at the coffee shop or bakery, leaving the room and still smelling amazing. You’d smell like a super sweet pie. The price is quite high, but the longevity and sillage is also better than some other body mists. Winter/autumn/cold rainy days, wearing around the house signature scent to boost mood and feel cosy.

Ellster

Absolutely horribly synthetic and DISGUSTINGGG!!!! Makes me GAG! I CANNOT for the life of me understand how anyone could enjoy this perfume?? HOW AND WHY??? Why was this created. Just why. SO SYNTHETIC IT SMELLS LIKE CHEMCIALSSSSS….

vanilladoII

literally delicious

Breeezy32

Smells like a buttered popcorn Jelly Belly jellybean.

orihime

This smell is so heavy it's basically smells like cookies you buy from market, not a freshly baked one. One spray on wrist and I'm so overwhelmed already...

veronica9p

Something about the dry down smells like WARM PEE / PISS / URINE! Wtf?! Maybe it's the nutty notes? Idk, but I definitely notice it after a couple hours and it's absolutely FOUL! Glad there's other people here who notice it, too.

headkace

I loooove the nutty macadamia note that pops through in this caramelicious dense cookie cloud

ameliary23

This perfume has been one of my favorites for almost two years. It's a mouth watering sweet scent that's perfect for all occasions. It smells like a warm vanilla, fresh baked cookies, and toasted macadamia nut. The scent is addictive and whenever I wear it I can smell the delicious scent throughout the day. It is the perfect scent for when you want to smell sweet, but not like a cupcake, more like an almond vanilla cookie. I've heard everyone saying that this smells like burnt popcorn, but I've never gotten that from it. A lot of the SDJ fans buy 71 and are disappointed are not used to its strong scent. Considering SDJ is a very beachy brand, I'm sure its fans who mostly consist of teens are used to their beauty and summery scents. Despite the hate for this perfume, people always seem to like it when they smell it upfront!! If you are NOT looking for a sweet/cozy vanilla scent, don't go for this one. However if you're a fan of gourmand, you'll love this. ౨ৎ✮⋆˙💋ྀིྀི

Marinka71

Opening, upon spraying on my skin: butter, salt and caramel.

Drydown: butter, salt, caramel and smoke.
Smoked popcorn. 🍿

Drydown couple of hours later: smoke, butter and salt. Most of all: SMOKE.

How the heck is this hyped up???

dv_67

While I did like it, I don't think I will buy the big bottle. I will enjoy my small bottle and that's it. It's just way too sweet. It's cloying FOR SURE! Even though I have every vanilla gourmand perfume you could imagine, this is just too much. Too sweet, too lactonic, too sugary. Definitely reminds me of Christmas Cookies by B&BW which I don't like that much either because it is also too sweet and too lactonic. I think it's too cloying to the point it could induce nausea to some people, so do take in mind that even if you can handle it, your partner smelling you maybe won't

Hussam Ray

Amber plockchouli i- 🤐 Tbh I deserve to be called out sksksksksk lmao, but come on I didn’t insult anyone, just being shady/sarcastic for a min no harm, love all ,,,,, I’m glad that we “kinda” agree about the lotus biscuit/butter,
Your review is 100% detailed really opens up the imagination, not just saying popcorn.
Enjoy ur perfume queen.

pianosolo

sooo good smells like baked vanilla coconut cookies <33 the “butter/popcorn” note is more of a buttercream to me.

Amber Plokchouli

I think Hussam Ray has limited knowledge about scents, cause he clearly doesn’t know that scents don’t smell the same on every person and that him and his 5 lame friends aren’t some superior sniffer species, or that not everyone on here is American 🙄

The scent opens with strong roasted macadamia nuts and caramel. The macadamia is a bit overpowering for the first few minutes, but does settle down after a bit.

After a while I do get something vaguely resembling Lotus Biscoff cookie butter, although being Dutch and being familiar with both Dutch speculaas and Belgian speculoos, which the lotus spread is actually made of I do not think the resemblance is as close as someone who is less familiar with it might think. When I smell lotus cookie butter, or the speculoos cookies themselves, they have nuances that this fragrance does not. It does have the buttery aspect of speculoos cookie butter, but it lacks the spices. I would normally not bother to point that out, but since Hussam Ray came here to fuck ants, and insult people in the process, I figured I might as well join in on the fun.

Once the fragrance dries down more a caramel popcorn note comes forward. It’s buttery caramel popcorn nuts in this stage. Strangely I wouldn’t call it macadamia anymore here, but I’m a bit undecided what type of nut it resembles most here as it’s more in the background. Perhaps pistachio or chestnut. It’s a bit hard to pick out as the popcorn now is in the foreground here.

In this stage it strongly resembles Lush - Let the Good times roll. I’ve tested both side by side today, thinking they resembled easier more, but it’s just the dry down where they’re very similar. Cheirosa 71 is much nuttier in the earlier stages.

I got this mainly to wear around the house and for layering. I’m not a big fan of gourmand fragrances, but once in a while I crave them, and while this isn’t overly complex, it satisfies the crave, so I’m happy with my purchase. It’s great for what it is and long lasting!

Hussam Ray

I don’t smell popcorn at all, I think Americans 👨🏻🦳🦳has limited knowledge/imagination about scents

71 smells exactly like Biscuit&roasted nuts + roasted coconut for the first 15or 30 min, then you will be left with salted caramel for the rest of the dry down 🍪🥥

It’s Fun & Good for layering, flat by its own it doesn’t have perfume elements, I was kinda underwhelmed

muertyna

At first, it's roasted macadamia nuts with buttery caramel, and then the roasted smell gives way for a lot more of salty butter and caramel. Such an intoxicating gourmand fragrance. Stays on the skin for around 3-4 hours and on the clothes and hair a bit longer.

uhohstinky

Another gourmand fragrance that the wife enjoys!

Hussam Ray

🍪🍪🍪🍪🍪🍪🍪🍪🍪🍪🍪🍪🍪🍪🍪
anyone smell it on me say it smells like lotus biscuit spread
🍯🍯🍯🍯🍯🍯🍯🍯🍯🍯🍯🍯🍯🍯🍯🍯🍯

Again it doesn’t smell like popcorn at all

crowbaby

i want to love it, i want to want to wear it, but god it's hard. it smells straight up edible, popcorn is correct. it's SO buttery with a nice salted caramel thing going on, but the buttery scent kind of overpowers everything. if i smelled this on someone else i would go crazy, but i lack the confidence to be the girl that smells like popcorn. lol

edit: if you enjoy this you NEED to try comptoir sud pacifique matin càlin... same yummy salty sweet toffee buttery butter but lasts longer!

ThatGothBBW

I'll keep this simple, the popcorn descriptions are ACCURATE AF!!! IF you like super buttery, slightly salty, extra sweet carmel popcorn, than this is absolutely for you.

I'm sooooo glad I didn't splurge on a big bottle. This is a VERY specific scent profile, and it's definitely not for me. I just don't want to smell like carmel popcorn all day. If you enjoy the hand soap, Coconut Angel Food Cake by Bath and Body Works, than you will absolutely LOVE THIS.

This is quite the projector, but it only lasts a few hours on bare skin. I can imagine on clothes that it would last for a pretty good amount of time considering the type of scent it is. I'm just not willing to test it fully because I don't want to smell it continually.

caramelemi

my friend bought it for me and it is deliciousss definetly a must have if you like reallyyyy sweet gourmands
it´s sillage its crazy litterally fills up a room, it smell like a really strong caramel nut the first minutes, but then the nuts completly dissapears i love it though

autty

Had me at first sniff I knew I would immediately buy this perfume mist. There's been many that have tried to replicate this caramel vanilla but it usually ends up smelling fake or plastic but this smells like the real deal.

It lasts for hours and fades into a sweet brown sugar after a while. I can see where others smell the buttered popcorn but it is that macadamia note mixed with the caramel. So good if you love loud gourmands this is like the boss of them.

Lcava

I’m one of the ones that found it smelled just like movie theatre popcorn. It’s not a bad smell but very distinctive and just not for me. If you like it you will be pleased because it lasts a long time.

Iluvperfume55

It smells like the digestive biscuits we get in the UK 😋

elsa0514

I did not like this at all. Straight up popcorn to my nose, and I don’t want to smell like that.

Binniebleu

Freshly baked cookies a little goes a long way

Brazzzilka

smells like sweet cinema popcorn, very nauseating

krissiewissie

Gosh I just LOVEEE the toasted vanilla-y tonka bean drydown of this!! While like all other sdj scents they aren’t as potent at the end of the day of my 12 hour shifts, I LOVE sniffing the lingering drydown of my work clothes

sidesalad

An unapologetic bringer of true joy. Such a gloriously edible treat. Every fourth day when I don't feel like washing my hair, I coat it in this delight and feel like I'm Santa, blessing the world with my sweet caramel white chocolate goodness.

anamawsity

Really interesting but a TAD bit too heavy on the nuttiness. Still love it and I wish it lasted longer than an hour.

missparfums77

I dont know why but when and wear it, my brain associated with the vibe of Libre by YSL but with a tropical and beachy twist, this is a legit long lasting perfume like a expensive one, last multiple hours , mens love it ! Even during colder and wintery/snowy days

2whit2quit

Cheirosa '71 is the perfect gourmand. It truly smells like fresh baked goods. This gives me the same warm cookie vibes as Sol de Janeiro's Brazilian Kiss lip butter. YUM!

swansong444

too gourmand. and i’m saying this as someone who loves extremely sweet fragrances like sweet tooth etc. not for me.

PerfumerLoverforlifeeeee

Yall here need to stop with the cheirosa 71 slander.. im glad that i followed my instincts and didnt back down from buying it after all what ive read here and on tiktok.. i think poeple who didnt like it simply are not true gourmand fans.. it IS the definition of a gourmand perfume.. it smells exaaactly like freshly baked cookies .. i know this may come off as weird but it smells exactly how speculos and lotus taste..
It lasts for dayyyyssss i swear to god.. i spray it on my hair and my clothes and smell it for two days with the same sillage… i get a ton of compliments on it too..
i would say if you want to smell like an exact freshly baked cookie buy it.. if you want to smell like perfume.. dont

zitaflower

WAYYY too gourmand. this was one of the first fragrances i ever bought and honestly it made me scared of gourmand scents LOL ... it is a headache inducing mess. skip this and buy 62 instead!

XOXO_marcel

Finally got around to sampling this and it smells exactly how it's described. A salty nutty caramel dessert. Rich, delicious, and fun. It is slightly headache-inducing but not terrible in that respect.

I like it a lot, but I'm kind of surprised that people are able to tolerate this in hot climates. It gets up to 100 degrees fahrenheit where I live and I think this would be way too cloying in that weather. All the same, it made a good impression on me. A fun scent that is unique among the offerings at my local Ulta.

I'm a huge gourmand fan after growing up with Bath and Body Works scents throughout my teens and I love the smell of baked goods, so this was easily a win for me. For a body spray, this lasts surprisingly longer than most. The macadamia and white choc notes are the standouts.

I usually wear this at home, after a shower or running short errands. I've raved about it to my friends and understandably the reactions are very mixed when I spritz it for them. I've also layered this with Maïs Soufflé which creates a sickly sweet paradise but it's totally my vibe!

topazyoshi

I wanted this fragrance so badly. I fiended after it for months. I was so excited when it came to my Ulta, so I greedily sprayed it on my arm so I could finally take in the glory of this coveted spray.

Sickly sweet and stinky Ensure shake. Nauseating.

If you want to smell like a bakery in the middle of a hospice facility, wear this.

ysmin6002

This stinks like sweet fart

sugarfawn

this does not smell like a fragrance, and i mean that literally. i sprayed this in the living room once and my mom thought i had baked something. i think this might be the ultimate gourmand scent for people that are into butter and caramel notes. i do get how some people say it smells a little like buttered popcorn but for me that is not really a turn off!
it makes me crave dessert! this was a blind buy but i definitely recommend trying it first before making a purchase because it might be too sweet for some. also i think getting the smaller bottle might be better because you can NOT wear this in the summer (unless you want to kill someone) and also because it is such a strong smell. still love it though

nekosign

A must for fall! I’m really love the cheirosa og and the coconut, but this one is incredible for fall. I’m travel to my memory of my childhood with « caramel chouchous » when my grand-parents please me this candy on holiday.
Very conforting.

bouchardo

A salted butter nightmare

vpace91

Caramel corn from a tin that you get as a Christmas gift! Not sure this is something I would want to wear. I love gourmands but I like when they have more going on than just being edible

RegalKitten

This is as gourmand as it gets, there is no perfume-y element to this - no florals, no woods, no aromatics - you will smell like a straight up snack. I mostly smell macadamia and white chocolate, and I do get how some people would get a caramel popcorn vibe from this. I think that is what makes it smell a dry and toasted kind of sweet more than sticky sweet to me. I absolutely love it, although I don't see myself re-purchasing only because my tastes are moving away from gourmand scents and I'm just not reaching for it much, but this is an occasional self-indulgent mood-booster for me. My boyfriend doesn't love this but he doesn't mind it, he says it smells completely edible which he considers odd in a perfume.

e101

It smells like a cheap scented candle with a gourmand scent, like the artificial caramel and cookie scents. It's very strong and extremely sweet , personally off putting to me, smells cheap and overpowering of scented candles. If you have a sensitive nose, you will hate this one.

dine.vanille

It's nutty, VERY sweet, but you can still smell the sea salt notes. Reminds me of popcorn (normal salty popcorn) in the beginning, then it develops to a melted creamy white chocolate with macadamia nuts. Smells delicious but you really have to be a gourmand girl to love it, I can understand why so many people relate to feel nauseous because of it.
100% winter/fall scent, no chance of wearing this on summer without making everyone around you feel overwhelmed.
Lasts about 3 hours on my skin like all SDJ body sprays and has also a very alcoholic opening. Projects for about 2 hours. Good for a body mist.

eesto0

Probably one of the best gourmands I've tried. Very sweet and nutty. Usually sweet fragrances like this never last on me but this one lasts all day, especially when I spray on my clothes. I don't understand why others say it smells like popcorn, I don't get that note at all in this. It is a bit more of a edible scent but I love it!

stefchii

I was very excited to try this one, as I am a gourmand fan and love different vanilla blends but… this one is way too gourmand for me. It lacks the feeling of a perfume, it just smells like a sweet. You will get the same effect if you work in the Cinema and make sweet popcorn. This was my first thought when I tried it-smells like caramelised popcorn, Cinema vibe. It is too ‘foody’ in my opinion and it lacks the perfumery scent if I can describe it this way. And on top of this, when I read about the piss dry down, it almost made me laugh because I was wondering who would write such a thing. Then I took a shower, the mist was already on my wrist for about 2-3 hours and suddenly I smelled a strange odour.. when I put my nose to my wrist I was shocked that it actually smelled like PISS.. I can’t imagine how it will smell if you put this scent before working out.. but I guess it depends on everyone’s skin. This was my personal experience with this mist 🤷🏻♀️

noodlehead19

of the Cheirosas I've smelled, this is my favorite. such a warm, cozy, syrupy vanilla. has a popcorn-y, nutty undertone, something more than the macadamia note listed; I'm usually not a fan of food-y gourmands, but I love how it's done here. I've also heard people saying it smells like piss...really glad it doesn't lean that way to my nose (could it be the nut note?) a little steep MSRP for simply a body mist, but it doesn't perform quite like that. it lasts a little longer & projects a little further than your typical mist...somewhere in between body mist and eau de toilette territory. really nice on its own, but amazing for layering too.

barks968

i can attest to the product claims, my friend told me i smelled delicious. a white chocolate macadamia scent that has a light hint of salt, i actually dont get vanilla at all from this one. good for winter and for when you wanna feel cozy before bed

5a5v5

Yummy, nutty, salty caramel and white chocolate goodness. This is a *gourmand*. Everything I spray it I wanna gnaw my arm off. Lasts long af for a body mist too.

simplyelexina

really long lasting for sol de janeiro. cant understand why people hate this perfume’s guts, its the perfect gourmand

gabardine

Straight up kettlecorn. They couldn't have made a more photorealistic popcorn scent if they tried. That might appeal to some but it appeals to me about as much as walking around smelling like a Thanksgiving turkey would, and I say this as someone who generally loves SDJ fragrances.

What's worse is that it was the strongest of all of the fragrances I sampled in-store. It took hours and several handwashes to get it off of me, so if that's your kind of thing you'll definitely be into this.

January420

This is yummy, if you want to be a snack wear this. I absolutely love it but I believe it is so overhyped. The longevity isn’t that great. I have the hair oil as well and I feel like that lasts longer than anything. It smells like a warm Christmas cookie, just yummy gooey caramel vanilla goodness. It is an amazing smell if you are a gourmand lover, though. I would give this a 8/10.

vnoxnoctis

tried this out in sephora and people were not lying about the buttered caramel popcorn note lmao. it's a little jarring but there's still something so addictive about this fragrance. if you're a true gourmand lover, as in you literally want to smell like food, you'll love this. if you're not a true gourmand lover, i definitely think that this could be too much and too cloying--you would be better off trying some of the other sol de janeiro scents. not blind buy safe, but damn delicious.

baddiebrock

I bought this as a blind buy and was not disappointed!! This smells like gingerbread baked fresh from an oven and like really caramelised cookies. If you're into gourmand you will definitely love this. It's also definitely a warm christmassy scent.

witchnextdoor

I used this as an everyday body spray for about a year and remember it fondly. Photorealistic white chocolate macadamia nut cookie. I remember walking into rooms on multiple different occasions and people asking if I brought sweets. A wonderful gourmand for the price point, good longevity and sillage. I’m not into sweet fragrances anymore, but I would reach for this on a sweet holiday like Valentines or Christmas.

maddieonline

reviewed this before and reviewing it again because this is the best gourmand i have ever used - smells like fresh buttery caramel pastries without being synthetic at all. I really hope they make a perfume for this to use alongside the body mist!!!

cagegirl

literally the best gourmand i think i have ever smelled. i find it to smell really sensual for some reason. it makes you wanna get really close to someone while wearing it. it stays really well when i spray it on my clothes. i don't get too much of the buttery caramel corn notes that people get, it's just pure warm delicious cozy vanilla on me. such a good scent to throw on when you wear a big sweater and go on a snowy walk <3

Flowerfruit

This is a delicious gourmand fragrance that smells like caramel buttered popcorn. It reminds me of something from B&BW. I ended up returning it due to the buttery note and craving sweets while wearing it, but it’s a great scent if you don’t mind smelling edible!

Loulou_Angel09

Initial spray reminded me of those candles that are labeled “sugar cookie” or “gingerbread”, which I’m not a fan of. After a couple minutes, for some reason, this is smelling like the butter found in popcorn on my skin :(

Mshapiro2115

This was the first SDJ spray i bought and i like it the least and i have them all. It definetly smells like warm vanilla with some caramel added but it also smells like buttered popcorn. LoL! Literally like a big bucket of hot movie theater buttered popcorn. Someone told me thats what i smelled like and now i cannot get that out of my head. It smells exactly like suntan lotion, coconuts and the beach.

GooseWithAGrudge

My first thought upon spraying this was “dear god what have I done?”

On first spray this smelled like rancid butter and plastic. And it was STRONG. Fortunately, it mellowed out very quickly but there was a good few minutes where I thought I was going to have to go take a shower to get this off me.

Once you get past the expired butter/melted plastic phase, it mellows out into a gourmand cookie scent- there’s a creaminess from the white chocolate, and an intense nuttiness from the macadamia. There’s definitely still a buttery scent that I think is supposed to be the caramel, but it just reads as butter to me. It’s definitely unique! I have a feeling this would be relatively unpleasant in heat and humidity, so I will be saving it for cooler days when I’m in the mood to smell like a cookie. This is definitely not a safe blind buy.

Lasting power is about four hours, moderate silage.

SolSur

This to me smelled straight up popcorn..

nasia324

By far my favorite from this brand ! It’s such a pretty buttery gourmand burst! I pair it with EOS cashmere vanilla or sugar works Cheirosa 71 oil! Love it

ArielleDelores

It’s a very sweet and buttery sent. It smells very realistic and not perfumy or synthetic at all. I wouldn’t wear this on it’s own because it’s a rly basic buttery scent, it’s great for layering though! I lovee layering it with vanilla 28 soo delicious

RiowithanA

DO NOT waste your money on this... It hardly lasts for 5 mins and it's gone. You'd be better off buying a B&BW mist than this. Really just forget it and save your money

rottic

I love this fragrance, but it can be a bit overpowering at times. I definitely wouldn't wear this in tight spaces but, it is so yummy!! nutty, vanilla, caramel—it's so lovely and long-lasting on me. It lasts 6-7 hours on me but continues to linger on my clothes. I will probably always layer this with my winter scent

Starliiie

ITS SO GOOD WITH EOS WARM CASHMERE LOTION AND AL-REHAB CHOCO MUSK!!!!!! I used the concentrated oil and the perfume with the body mist right after moisturizing myself with the lotion and GODDDDD I just wanted to eat myself up!!!

madslizzle

i wish this didnt have the salt note because i always thought something smelled "off" about it until i read a comment on reddit that says it smells like pee 😀 it literally smells like warm pee LMFAO

justabakerygirl

this smells exactly like caramel popcorn… i would only wear this when i’m at home. it doesn’t smell bad but it’s not a mind blower either <3

nathanm0

i do get the popcorn but i loved it😭 it was like a burnt caramel drizzled popcorn with pieces of chocolate and macadamia nuts sprinkled over, honestly amazing

RiowithanA

Hmm not my favourite as it doesn't last long enough...it lasts on my clothes a bit longer but nothing great, this is even if I wear a moisturizer underneath.

Also I can tell what people mean the after smell can be a bit stale and slightly smell like piss lol.
Not my fav scent but still decent.

tauuki

I'm not sure about the coconut notes as well as the popcorn vibe people say it has, but it smells like Honey O's cereal. I think this might be my signature scent, it doesn't last long, but that might be because my skin wasn't moisturized. It does last really well if you spray it on the tips of your hair however!

hunnemannia

The sweetness of this perfume is too overwhelming for me personally. It smells exactly like Subway's macadamia nut cookies, so if you're a fan of those you'd love this. Very affordable but would make me feel like a little butter baby if I'd wear it.

annie02

I was looking for a delicious sweet gourmand for my collection and I tried this and I love it. Definitely not for everyday, but once in a while, when i want to smell really warm, sweet and comforting, this hits the spottt + i feel like goes a long way for the price and considering a fact it’s a body spray. Scent projects really well when sprayed into hair!

perfume_n3rd

it was a little too nutty to me, but i still like it.. actually it smelled a lot more of coconut than macadamia

yukikiki

Smells like salted caramel popcorn drizzled with melted white chocolate mixed eith the roasted nuts 4 nuts.

I don't know of a setting for this scent - maybe a movie theater? lol

It's 100% gourmand and absolutely delicious. I just spray it at home for my own enjoyment cuz I can't really find a social setting where this would work.

I'm in my late twenties and I enjoy it. It's nice to have a fragrance bring out that playfulness out of me once in a while.

I can't say how long it lasts since I wear it in the evening before sleep.

AlvaAnnie

It smells exactly what it says it will. But it becomes too sweet and childish. More suitable for teenagers.

Faverinsky

OK so I love this scent, it's photo realistic roasted macadamia, vanilla, caramel, white chocolate and slightly salty cookies... my only beef with it is that EVERYTIME I wear it I get really hungry, live ravenously so... and you can guess what I want to eat, huh? Ultimately, this fragrance does not support being on a healthy diet, though by gawd is it delicious! Am I right?!!!

amberholmes191

It smells so good and I get many compliments on it. People have told me it smells some what like cookies or a bakery.

vanillapinkblush

Personally, I love this body spray/scent. I get complimented on it constantly, and if you like to layer scents, it is perfect with any sort of orange/mandarin meringue smelling body creams (i.e., Aesop Mandarin Facial Hydrating Cream). I wish the longevity was better, however given that it is a body spray I really cannot complain. It is perfect for people who love caramel, nutty scents or who are looking for a solid vanilla body spray that doesn't have that artificial scent that Bath n Body Works, Victoria Secret or other body sprays have.

Dimmyinthecity

I'm NYC the vendors sell hot sugared nuts. This smells EXACTLY like that. I purchased this was layering.

Moshpitbunny

Sooo yummy photo realistic gourmand - sometimes find it feeling a little “sticky” in really hot weather. Wish it lasted longer or had an edp version. Wore it on holiday in a beach town and felt super cute.

Hypnotic Flower

Definitely similar to Lush Let The Good Times Roll which I've used til the last drop but I don't enjoy it anymore. This one doesn't have that sharp, off putting note that LTGTR has, it's more bearable and smells more like cookies with a hint of coconut.
Delicious overall but can get too cloying!

elmos

I know this is a controversial body mist but I love it.. it smells like straight up sweet butter caramel popcorn.. if u REALLY like gourmand scents you'll love this. if not, you'll hate this trust me.. this doesn't have a perfumey scent to it like it's like if u work at a place that sells butter caramel popcorn and u worked all day and u left. straight up bakery type scent. one thing is that no one can really smell it around u and no longevity pretty much

riri92000

I have to wash this off. Smells discusting on me. Liked butter microwaved and burnt in a plastic container. Smells like burned, plasticy butter only on me, maybe with a hint of caramel. It is strong ao I had to wash it off!

chaneljoline

I ordered this because of the caramel and vanilla notes without smelling it first, so I was a bit nervous about this one. It smells like Nutella and warm caramel. If I could change one thing I would dial down the macadamia a bit. I get so many compliments from random people when I wear this. At first the scent is super strong and almost nauseating, then it dries down to a much softer nutty scent. Such a shame that the longevity isn’t that good though

lotuskiss

Judging by the notes I thought I was gonna love this but oh boy was I wrong 😑 it somehow smells like burnt popcorn and pee simultaneously imo. I’ve never been so disappointed by a fragrance in my life

Sunee

I tried this scent after my sister had bought her bottle and right after i bought my own. I recently bought my second bottle because this smell is so addicting and delicious.

Snicole82

This is buttery sweet. I think the butter is what others are describing as popcorn. I don’t get nuts or caramel. Just sweet butter. It’s different and I thought I would like it a lot more than I do. I think it’s a good fragrance to layer with other fragrances. This can’t stand alone on my skin like ‘62, which I like better.

Okay, this is starting to grow on me. Especially being layered with Tree Hut Tropical Glow body butter. But that initial blast had me scared for a second.

Kasutajanimi123

A very sweet scent which I did not like much at first. As I kept using this, I started liking it more. The macadamia definitely dominates a lot which makes the smell slightly unpleasant when you smell it for longer than a few seconds. To me it smells really buttery, the caramel and white chocolate are definitely there. Other people have also smelled coconut on me. Definitely a fall/winter scent and not something I personally would wear on a night out. Will finish my bottle, but most likely not going to repurchase.

Sophieanna

This smell is nauseating to me. I bling bought this scent after everyone was so positive about it. I deeply regret it though, it smells like burnt popcorn to me and I cannot seem to love this scent.

kitsuna

ugh i love 71 to pieces. it can be super super sweet and nauseating at first but just wait for the dry down and it becomes this yummy chocolatey scent. this fragrance lasts soooooooooo long on skin but even longer if i spray it in my hair - it's still strong after 2-3 complete days for me! would not recommend wearing this in summer tho as i did that and attracted all the bees lol

Tissla

This is the love of my life. Is like taking a bath in molten Toblerone while getting the nicest hug in your comfiest sweater. It’s VERY sweet, but not too intrusive. Creamy, nutty and chocolaty. Even though it’s a mist it lasts all day for me, and have better longevity and sillage than any edp I own.

Bagpl

Weak and doesnt last but pure realistic popcorn with caramel very gourmand sweet beautiful, this is more for around the house wear, for yourself or going to bed, out the shower or before sexy time so you smell like a snack i love it

†♡

i bought it for my best friend, it smells soooo good i wanna eat it !!! also it lasts forever ! definitely worth it <3

scent.2go

Lovely buttery scent. But not for summer. Too much for summer, but lovely for winter.

warmcashmere

I enjoyed this scent while I had it (I always mixed it with Warm Cashmere), but I don't think I would buy it again. I love a good gourmand, but this verged too much on "I accidentally spilled food all over myself and now I'm gonna smell like it all day" territory.

sweetcherie23

OBSESSED with this fragrance!! Just imagine the smell of sweet and sticky cinnamon buns fresh out the oven with a hint of sugar and toasty vanilla. I always get told I smell amazing when i wear this in public and I honestly can not get enough of how good I smell, it is addictive!!! I must also note that this fragrance is sweet but for those who do not want it to come off as shoddy, do not worry as it definitely smells expensive.

aska2in

I am disgusted and disappointed. A bit disturbed. I was promised a nutty, buiscuit-like caramel gourmand and got just that- for about 3 hrs, after which all i can smell is a deep urine note. It’s pungent and I had to wash my clothes and sheets after wearing. I gave this too many chances. Worst blind buy.

makelikeatree

The most intensely sweet, over the top, caramel popcorn. Truly does not hold back. Lasts quite a while for a body and hair spray.

StinkyKat

First things first ok? I got influenced 🤫. This body mist smells like caramelized buttered popcorn or like a breakfast buttery croissant with coffee. I was not sure I'll wear it at all until I saw a tiktok where a girl layered it with MFK grand soir. I ran faster than a squirrel on Coca-Cola to grab my grand soir and I love the combo. GS smells kinda boozy and dandy on me but with this on top is smells like sweet caramel heaven, I might start licking my arm. Thank to whoever discovered this combo.

Eau_des_vanille

Yeah, don’t mind the weirdos below. This smells great obviously a gourmands. It’s definitely rich and sweet, and if you don’t like it, wear something else. ♥️🤧

vlxjj

i personally love this fragrance a lot hence why i finished my first bottle and bought a new one !! this fragrance is very very sweet - if i had to put it this way, it's 'diabetically' sweet as smells like concentrated caramel with a nutty note. it literally smells like a pecan plait pastry !!
there is a strong scent upon spraying it and the dry down stays on my skin and clothes for a while, however, the sillage isn't as great in my opinion. i like to pair it with 'vanilla woods by 7 virtues' to add more sweetness to vanilla woods as it is a woody-vanilla scent.

i love this fragrance a lot,, it's def the best fragrance in comparison to cheirosa 62,40, and 68

persephonejoh

smells like straight butter. my least favorite from sol de janeiro, so disappointing ! why do their gourmands tend to lean towards butter ? i don’t know anyone that wants to smell like that!

incantava

If you have no idea what cloying means, smell this and you will come out enlightened. Pure nutty caramel.

VanillaBeanCake

This just smells like salty stale urine, absolutely nauseating...

manicita

It is nice! Listen, if you are a fanatic of scents and very deep on the loophole of distinct scents, yeah don’t buy this, u might find this “basic” and “childish”. But honestly there is a reason why gourmands are so popular, because it’s nice and we all love smelling cookies out of the oven. Most people that have smelled this on me have complimented me and said I smell incredible. Of course if I were to meet a perfume connoisseur and told them this is my favorite, they would probably slap me and dump the whole thing over me. But i am not meeting those kind of people on my day to day anyways. Don’t worry too much about it bring too strong or overpowering either, it’s a body spray so it will fade. It is nice!

Nanalvzpink

Ma’am! Why would anyone want to smell like buttery POPCORN?

Lord, this is not it!!!

nina4tj

Dry down smells good but but first sprays make me nauseous

Edit: I found out this wasn’t making me nauseous. However, the nuttiness of the first spray isn’t my favorite but I love the dry down~ caramel vanilla cookie

aloegarten

Definitely the best, most edible Sol de Janeiro fragrance. I was gifted this for Christmas and have absolutely fallen in love with it. It smells like warm brown sugar and freshly baked white macadamia nut cookies. Pretty hard to detect on skin, but it is strong for a body mist and fills the air around you. Perfect winter gourmand 🍪❄️🧁

Pilarguerrero34

Each time i wear it my students say I smell like cookies. It smells like great cookies, to me

tylerthecreator

imagine shoving your face in a bowl of butter popcorn flavored jellybeans

Sarra816

This definitely stands out the most from all of the Sol de Janeiro scents in my opinion. It lasts very long and is definitely a creamy gourmand. It gives me the nutty notes I wanted from 62. I wish I got more of the white chocolate notes, but the macadamia is done well. I will say the dry down gives me a buttery kettle corn which can feel salty after all that sweetness.

fuzzypeach

The gourmandiest gourmand: pure confection. Hard to detect on my skin, instead I find it sits in the air surrounding me and I get clouds of rich caramel, browned butter and nuts drifting over me as I move around. Absolutely sticks in the throat a bit on first spray but it’s worth it for the drydown.

dahliafleur

This is absolutely beautiful. I initially tried all the current Sol De Janeiro scents, and this one had the strongest impression on me - the most gourmand of all. I bought all of them, but months later, 71 is the one I reach for the most.

I have been told I smell like donuts, cookies, chocolate, or even simply overheard people say "something smells really good"; which is a phenomenal response for what is just a body mist. It outperforms every perfume I own.

The first hour or so is nutty, chocolatey, but after a few hours there is the most glorious caramel butter popcorn dry-down. This scent will perform all day and has the rare quality where you will not experience nose-blindness after wearing all day.

I tried Lush Let the Good Times Roll, and can emphatically say 71 is the buttery popcorn champion here.

Majuemidio

My favorite of the line. The 62 is good- bit generic in my opinion but - but this one is divine. Also way superior projection

SnowIce

This is a strong gourmand!
It's like eating a creamy nougat pastry with chocolate and a pinch of salt.
It's a shame that one of the ingredients stings your nose and throat.

izabelavank

at first smells amazing like cookies but after few hours it changes into terrible stink like burnt plastics

Nina Netanyahu

What a WONDERFUL body splash! I tried other Sol de Janeiro fragrances and this was definitely the one I liked the most!

I love sweet, laconic, warm and/or caramelized fragrances. This splash is all of that!

I explicitly smell biscuits, especially cornstarch biscuits. It may seem strange, but I love it! Very sweet, caramelized and warm. Creamy, but at the same time "toasty". It reminds a sweet baked cookie or caramelized popcorn.

The notes described here perfectly sum up the smell! Incredible and delicious mix.

fridaah

I unfortunately dislike this fragrance. I ordered this online and when I read about its notes, it sounded delicious! But when I got it and smelled it, I was immediately put off by it. To me it smells a bit like the biscuit Bastogne, if any one is familiar with those, but there's something off with it... It's very sweet and it has a strong smell of caramelized sugar, wich some may like. Alas, it's a fragrance that I don't find very flattering...

Will probably give mine to a friend who likes it better than me.

cgwoolf

This fragrance confuses me soooo much. Sometimes when I spray it, it smells like a homeless man pissed all over a bag of butter popcorn and left it to be found after a couple weeks. Sour, sharp, unpleasant, and I actually pinch my nose.

However, other times when I spray it, I get the scent its supposed to be: warm and nutty caramel soaked white chocolate macadamia nut cookies.

I cant tell why it sometimes smells one way and sometimes another. I was about to sell it and when I opened the bottle it smelled so sweet and lovely that I couldn't let go. ugh

len0004

i've only used it as a tester and i HATED it, the worst of the cheriosa scents imo. Better to go with 62/40, the 71 just smells stinky and has a very burnt popcorn smell (not in a good way).

MSita

Delicious and surprisingly long-lasting. Winter and summer, this scent is incredible.

Scorpeous

Eggo waffles in the best way possible!

Kjkoni

This smells like corn, not popcorn, but actual corn. No cookie, no macadamia nuts…. If you’d like to smell like buttered corn with a small side of caramel sauce, then spray away! It’s a great price for the longevity and projection- you just have to want to smell like corn.

mxorei

This smells exactly like popcorn. very nutty and I disagree with it being described as sweet, to me it’s very salty and pretty bitter with a very subtle caramel smell. Not sure if I like it but it’s a lot better on the skin than on clothes.

vewawang

very very strong caramel popcorn scent that smells sweet when you spray it, but when it dries down it smells greasy, like the vanilla was deep fried in burnt popcorn juices mixed with oily chocolate cereal essence, and honestly its not terrible at all. if that sounds like something you like go ahead and buy this. a pro is that it lasts long and can be layered, and it also comes in a less pricey mini version.

CleoCleopatrat

For me this smell like overly sweetened caramel popcorn you’d get at the cinema. I don’t know. I just don’t smell it like a ‘white chocolate macadamia cookie’ like everyone else for some reason. Not bad tho, 7/10.

SaltyPopsicle

As an avowed gourmand lover, I wanted to love this. I wanted that buttery, white chocolate cookie experience others mention but, instead, got straight urine. Even tried spraying on clothing but still smelled nothing but pee. Like someone peed on an old musty sweater. The experience has left me curious in terms of needing to figure out which compositional note is the culprit. Perhaps the macadamia or white chocolate? Who knows but Dua’s Unicorn Milkshake gave the same, and I’m grossed out.

livaola

i absolutely love these notes and used this scent for a long time but recently its become very sickeningly sweet to me. apart from that it smells really good imo.

kangbi

tried this ages ago and got this horrible fresh pee stain smell ??? thought it's just a bad batch but no. tried a sample again somewhere else and it still reeks of piss. idk what it is but lord that has left me scarred for life

gnathaliegh

Cheirosa 71 smells like a delicious warm macadamia cookie with caramel and white chocolate. Quite realistic and very edible. However, that's precisely the problem I have with this fragrance. I enjoy wearing it for 10 minutes and after that it goes downhill for me rather quickly. I usually don't struggle with sweet gourmand fragrances, but the nuttiness and the buttery feel that this body mist has always ends up making me feel nauseous after a while. I love the scent itself but I'd rather have it in a scented candle. Performance is excellent though, especially on clothes. But I would say that it's not a safe blind buy, even though it's more on the affordable side. You have to enjoy smelling like actual food to love this.

joyciiii

I'll admit the nuttiness of the perfume surprised me at first, but after I let the perfume sit, it smelled so amazing!! It's so like caramel and a little salty like caramel popcorn, which I personally love. It has quickly become one of my favorite sol de Janeiro scents!

looleeloo

The initial spritz and the first few minutes smell rancid. Like a rancid, oily, sugary biscuit.
After one hour you finally get a creamy, nutty, lactonic experience. No white chocolate.
Too expensive for what it is.

jojo99

This scent is sweet for sure but it has some depth. There's a nutty and salty note that helps balance the sweetness. Even if you don't like gourmands too much this one might be enjoyable during the fall time. Personally I wouldn't wear it any other time of year. Has really nice lasting power for an affordable fragrance.

perfumepearl

I tested this because I wanted something light and very gourmand. It smells somehow too edible but I still like it. This isn't something to overspray, like 3 sprays is enough. I get the popcorn smell too heavily so will not purchase. It made me nauseous.

I bought this for layering purposes after watching a Tiktok video recommending different layering combinations with it and I use it solely for just that. By itself it smells very nutty and buttery and like caramel popcorn. This fragrance is for gourmand lovers on LSD. If you love gourmands this is for you.

I use it to layer with many different fragrances, i.e., BR540, Goddess by Burberry and Choco Musk. It has impressive longevity and decent sillage and works well for colder weather.

I pair this with Sweetly Known by Kerosene and I just love it! Edible, super sweet, delicious, mouth watering gourmand combo!

Ultra gourmand. Too gourmand for me. It smells like warm macadamia cookies, delicious but a bit cloying. It's not anything sexy or romantic in my opinion. This is something I would wear if I were a kindergarten teacher. It has good longevity for the price point.

JamieSmells

It does smell like buttery popcorn but in a perfume version. I prefer the 68 and I just smelled the radiance (yellow) bottle and I think those smell much better. The 71 reminds me of the BBW Snicker doodle body mist line, which is nice and cheaper but kind of boring after a while. I have the big bottle (not by choice) that I plan to use this winter and I will pear it with Angel Muse and Choco Musk.

krystmnv

Its the most gourmand smell. Caramel, cookies, white chocolate and nuts. Even though I love it personally, I had 3 different people say that it is too heavy (both after smelling it alone on the bottle and on me without overspraying it), so I dont wear it as often as I would like...But I do wear it a lot during cold days.

usera19

Not good. Smells like buttery popcorn with a hint of caramel.

Straight up smells like white chocolate macadamia cookie. so delicious when i wanna eat a dessert. I dont know when I would actually wear this though, maybe to like a fun evening christmas get-together? Maybe you could use this to layer as well. I've heard people say this smell belongs in a candle bc it's just so realistic and too gourmandy. I love it tho, but maybe more for my room/blankets/clothes in the cooler months haha

itslee83

I'll never understand the hate this perfume gets. It's so mouth wateringly edible and smells nutty and caramel-y. I love it on its own but i like to layer it with a vanilla body oil and a musky vanilla perfume for more longevity and depth. This lasts forever on clothes but I find it fades from my skin after a couple hours. There's a strong alcohol smell initially, but it fades after about 10-20 minutes so I don't mind it. People always tell me this perfume makes them hungry/crave sweets when I wear it.

This smells like a carnival. Straight up smells like the buttery popcorn Jelly Belly jellybeans. I kind of like it but I don't think it's wearable as a perfume. It'd be a nice candle smell though. I wish it smelled more like caramel and white chocolate because that sounds so heavenly.

Lovetolove

Slightly synthetic caramel but for the price gourmand never smelt so good 😊. Disclaimer nothing like that pink sugar nonsense!!!!! I mix this with by the fireplace and it is my favourite combination.

I wear this daily since the fall season began. The inital spray is strong and the smell seems to last forever. Its literally like im a baked cookie. I have gotten some weird comments if i do not respray. I do agree that it might be settling weirdly at about the 5 hour mark and giving off a weird urine-y type smell. If i respray this is no issue. I truly think this is a beautifully done gourmand fragrance. Some people find it too greasy or buttery which i can understand. Another con is that i have sensitive skin and if i spray it on my more sensitive skin like the front of my neck or upper chest i get mild hives.

Gms02

Not sure why this gets so much hate but it’s hands down the most realistic, mouth watering gourmand body spray or body care product in general that I have ever smelled. If you don’t like sweet, you’ll hate this. But if you do, it’s very comforting and surprisingly long lasting for a mist. Perfect for fall and winter. I wish they have more products in this scent!

coco.sarah

Smelled exactly like white chocolate macadamia cookies at first spray. Dries down to straight up salted caramel that’s almost burnt and lasts over 24+ on my t shirt. It’s nauseating and sickenly sweet. I loved gourmands (notice past tense) but this spray made me realize I don’t love straight up sweet-only smells. It gets tiring smelling butterscotch caramels 24/7. I prefer complexity. Some sweet, some tart, some woody. Returning this.

nonabean

i can't tell if i'm just losing my mind but this perfume makes me so nervous. i initially quite liked the waxy, biscuity smell (it's like a macadamia christmas candle), but after a couple hours it fades into a strange urine-y smell. did ask some people around me if i smelled like pee and they said i didn't, but i continue to catch a faint aura of pee regardless. my running theory is that it's the latent burnt smell lingering on clothes but it still terrifies me!

Charli3

For my Benelux people wondering what this smells like: Bastogne cookies! For like a whole hour and then it settles a little bit more nutty and vanilla. Not sure if I want this because it is ultra realistic. Also don’t spray on clothes- it becomes buttered popcorn, not in a good way.

amagdalene

you know the JellyBelly buttered popcorn-favored jellybean? this is that, in spray form.

I absolutely love it lol

kenn3dy.tate

I really dislike this perfume, It smells like caramel popcorn but in all the wrong ways... :(

torrent

smells like vanilla bean noel on steroids

ShadMu

What? to my nose this smells like a biscuit and i mean exactly a biscuit.

HappyToast

I've seen a lot of people hating on this as it is "too sweet". But for me, personally, this embodies a cozy, fall evening at home with freshly baked chocolate chip cookies. And I love it. Definitely buying again.

It is, of course, a gourmand and not for the faint-hearted. But if you love vanilla, caramel and sweetness, then try this!

Blackcat808

This is a *true* Gourmand - heavy on the caramel buttered popcorn and white chocolate chip Macadamia cookies. It's incredibly sweet and heavy to the point that it left me sort of stunned and a little nauseous because I wasn't expecting it and I say this as someone with a massive sweet tooth who prefers sweeter scents.

I love most of the Sol de Janeiro range (40 being my favorite) but 71 is a hard pass.
If your aim is to smell edible - like actual dessert.. this is a good bet but it's way too much for me. Not hot weather safe whatsoever.

braxypooh

i love this scent soo much. it smells like a nutty (macadamia) salted caramel gourmand scent. it literally smells like a bakery. every time i wear this scent i get compliments. it lasts all day and i love caramel scents so i definitely will be getting this scent more often. i love pairing it with Cheriosa 62 because both have this nice nutty smell i like. it lasts so long it stays in my clothes! people say i smell like caramel, nuts, vanilla, and one even said cotton candy lol! i love this fragrance so much! 🫶🏾

delrey

smells exactly like popcorn, not even sweet caramel popcorn, just straight up buttery popcorn.

puselabber

Woah!!🥮🍩🥞 Haha! It doesn't get more cookie than this. When I tested it on my hand in the shop, I was actually a bit embarrassed to sit next to someone on the train afterwards. I was thinking I can't walk around smelling like a bakery🙈But I purchased it nevertheless, and it turns out I love it! It's strictly for at-home use. Cozying up in a blanket when it's cold outside. Binging on Netflix, and sniffing my arm. As a comfort-scent it's just amazing. I also love to spray it before bed, or as a pillowmist.

Azulhef

With this on, you have to look closely at the weather :
- choose a day that is cold and dry, and it's a gourmand, comforting, sweet bomb of macadamia butter cookie.
- choose a day that is a little too warm, and even the smallest bit of hummidity while turn this into a sirupy nauseating disaster.

Very much a winter smell for gourmand lover.

Allybabaa

I enjoy the opening but then after about 20 mins I get sick of it....too sweet and nutty to be wearable. You will be smelling like you overindulged in baked goods. You know, like thick, rich, sticky syrup. This is for teenagers for sure

Amber&Oud
