More caramel than vanilla. Pear note adds an interesting fresh quality to prevent this from being too sweet. No rose at all. Vanilla does not really come out until the very end. Smells more like Alpenliebe candy. Weak longevity.
PS: Dont know why some people smell cigarette/ashtray/vape.

ethereal_j

The dry down= pretty good, but to get there on my skin it goes through at least twenty minutes of a horrendously strong burning rubber smell which makes it not worth it. I love the price point, sillage, longevity but this is not a safe blind buy- test it to see if it works with your skin chemistry.

Ravenclaw30!

A very Sweet, slight powdery(?) vanilla imo, kinda synthetic but it’s not awful, and the dry down is really nice.

OrangeSprout

It's very saccharine sweet-smelling vanilla and florally. Smells a bit synthetic to me and not the kind of vanilla I enjoy but if you like the more faker vanilla smell, it would work for you.

QbanoHavano7

Smells like slightly pear and vanilla scented backwood in the best way possible! Intoxicating!!! I love!

[email protected]

In the begging I didn’t like it too much but then I wore it a few times and I started enjoying it.. I don’t detect the smoky/woody notes as much as i did before and all i get is this beautiful sweetnesses of fruits and vanilla that is so bright and addictive. It does resemble a lot of Just Cavalli Her which was one of my favourites back in the days.

Ashleikiara

Vanilla ashtray tobacco vibes but like I don’t hate it …?

IndiBear

this smells like baby vomit for the first 15 mins and then settles into a nice vanilla. Honestly not worth the first 15 mins bc it actually made me gag

fishies

had to change my review. i used to love this, now it just smells like cigarette ash and makes me feel sick :/

eaudemarfum

Love this for the winter. The opening is very syrupy sweet and starts as a fruity (pear) vanilla with some smoke in the background. The pear note eventually fades and it stays a sweet vanilla caramel. The rose note is pretty undetectable, but I feel like it adds a faint powder smell to the background amber smokiness.

anamawsity

The pear comes through way more than I expected so it ended up being much sweeter than I thought it would be. It’s nice, but definitely not one of my fav scents. It also smells very similar to SDJ’s Cheirosa ‘40, but I much prefer Cheirosa ‘40. I don’t see much resemblance to Ariana’s Mod or Kayali’s Vanilla 28, the latter of which is much more floral on me. It has minimal sillage and lasts all day!

Jujas

This is one of the best burnt tire, freshly put out ciggie scents I’ve ever encountered.. it is so unique that I cannot help but have a full blown crush; reminds me of being dumped in my driveway and as my ex peeled out, he flung a cigarette my way…ah, to be young again.

Shaymin

This opens up with a fresh dirt smell. It reminds me of an early spring rainy morning, after awhile, a pear note really dominates along with a background of vanilla and caramel. A freshly dug garden beneath a pear tree. This is an unexpectedly strong scent with major sillage. I don't consider this a very cozy scent and I can't see wearing this on a cold winter day. Everything is cold to me, a fresh pear, fresh turned earth and again, it reminds me of rain. I am not a huge fan of 7 Virtue bottles, they come off as cheap or low end. Overall, it's a nice scent but I am not sure I like it enough to have it as a signature scent. It is incredibly strong and I could still smell it the next day. It is very feminine to me. I would not consider this unisex.

miss_malsomalso

I instantly fell in love with this. It's a sweet vanilla, but not in a juvenile way but rather young and sophisticated. Layering will be very easy as the scent isn't very complex, which is not meant in a negative way, the few notes here just fit perfectly.

scent.2go

I can detect caramel, vanilla and ashy something. It is not bad but for that price I expected something more interesting and complex. This scent is basic and flat

FragPW123

Has a rubberoudy scent that I really don't dig.
I don't hate it, but I prefer Cremo's Spice and Black Vanilla in every way.

Jnh_fm

Unfortunately the only notes I pick up in this perfume are the vanilla and caramel, which combine in a syrupy, overwhelming way.

This perfume lasts forever though, and has a decent sillage. If you can smell the other notes in this, you might like it. For me, it fell a little flat.

Isabella Therese

I don't know why, but sometimes (not always) during the first 5 minutes this smells like an ashtray. It goes away quickly, but just by looking at the notes I don't understand what could cause this. There's no smoky notes or anything like that. After the initial minutes I get an amazing, round vanilla scent with a super juicy pear and some woodiness. Not very complex yet unique to my collection, and I have tried a lot of vanilla perfumes. Vanilla Woods is warm, cozy and comforting, perfect for fall. The longevity is actually decent, which is unusual for a clean brand, but I get 6+ hours on my skin and even longer on clothes. It projects pretty well too. It's one of my most used fragrances for fall. 9.5/10.

bigbang9539

Am I the only one who hates this? I get a sickly sweet, syrupy pear and that's it. It makes my feel physically sick...

fragrancefanatic212

I wasn't a huge fan upon first smell but as I have tested it, I am obsessed, it's quite heavy on the woods but blended perfectly with a smooth vanilla , that has that vanilla extract vibe and a noticable pear in the opening which hangs around for a good 30 minutes. It dries down into a delectable caramel and rich vanilla.

kiyantam

This is one of my favorites and has gotten me many compliments! It also smells better over time, as do most fragrances when they macerate. I don't get any rose or woodiness, it's an almost sticky-sweet vanilla with a sprinkle of pear on top!

jxssicamidnight

On my skin I get no woods, no pear, no rose…
It’s simply cold melted vanilla ice cream…

AstraCeleste

I was hesitant to try this perfume because it was called "vanilla *woods*" and I am not particularly a fan of woody scents. I do, however, love me a good vanilla perfume, and this was delicious. At first, it smelled like a very slightly berry (not like a strawberry kind of berry, more like a forest type of berry) (the "berry" scent was light) vanilla, then it dried down more to a caramel-y or syrupy vanilla. I don't necessarily know if i like "caramel" as a scent, but wow, this vanilla perfume was delicious. It was warm and comforting... I sprayed one spritz of this perfume on the inside of my elbow around 12 in the afternoon and by the next morning, I could still smell it on me.. I did have to intentionally smell there- it became a skin scent- but wow, the longevity surprised me.
9/10 vanilla scent. Delicious :)

1nsatiiable

Dries down to a yummy saccharine caramel-vanilla mix, but sadly made me break out 3. Honestly a bit boring but still delicious nonetheless.

saoirsemoon

It’s alright, on me it’s a slightly more caramelised vanilla 28 - doesn’t last long tho and is similar to others - it’s a like, but nothing that excites me.

vpace91

Roasting marshmallows over a campfire.

cherryflavoredantacid

Unfortunately for my skin, I didn't detect any rose note at all. The pear top note was very pretty and soft to round out the vanilla. But it was pretty unilateral in it's scent, most notably being the vanilla and caramel and amber that are predominate. This did not give me a migraine which is surprising considering this is not only a dense scent that lingers the entire day on your skin, but it has a decent silage. While this is a nice gourmand scent, I just don't think it's enough for me to purchase an entire bottle. I thought the vanilla in this was creamy and not screechy like something you would find in a vanilla body spray for example. I don't know if this would hold up well in hot weather based on how strong the power of this sweet scent is. It worked very well in cooler weather when i tested it.

ginandrice

This is sweet, but not nearly as gourmand as I would've expected based on the notes. More like a combination of velvety blonde wood and golden brown sugar, with a hint of something sharp/tangy thrown in the mix.

It's definitely vanillic and woody, so the name is apt in that respect. However, the pear and rose seem to react oddly with the sweet base notes, creating a mulchy, slightly sour undertone, like under-ripened fruit. It goes away after a couple of hours, and fades into a warm, wheat-y vanilla, but the whole thing is basically a skin scent by then.

I don't quite get 'stale cigarette' from it like some people, but I do kind of get a scent like a stale strawberry cigarillo or something—more mellow and vanillic than cigarette, but in the same vein—and I don't love it.

Chelssmellsgood

I just got the rollerball version of this.

This scent is very sweet on me, I would describe it as a woody gourmand, I smell a lot of marshmallow, I assume that is the vanilla and caramel working together. The rose and pear are quiet but nice and balance out the marshmallow smell quite well.

This isn't anything extraordinary, it is quite basic. If you like woody, vanilla gourmands you may like this. If not, this may smell "cheap" to you. It definitely gives off BBW body spray vibes just because of how sweet and syrupy it is. I see some people mentioning they get smoke/ashtray smell... there's a slight smokiness to it, reminiscent to sitting by a fire, but it's not too strong and doesn't ruin it for me.

This scent makes me think of sitting by a campfire roasting marshmallows. It's more of a fall/winter scent but I could also see it being lovely to wear on a summer night. I'd expect it to be too intense in the heat.

JessCole

I am a middle school teacher. When I work, I like to wear simpler scents that the kids will like. This is an excellent one for the workday. The kids find it pleasant and not overpowering, and it's not too complex. It's very pleasant.

MrsJackDaniels

This was recommended to me as a close match for Michael Kors' Midnight Shimmer (discontinued), and it is pretty close. The smokey vanilla scent I fell in love with is definitely present here. The vanilla is a very simple, pure vanilla - to me, it's just like vanilla ice cream and I absolutely love it.

I wish the silage and longevity were better - it neither projects well nor lasts long, which is very disappointing.

Goldena35

Fairly basic vanilla but a nice one. I just applied it and I can barely detect it unless I bring my wrist to my nose. Stays close to skin. I definitely pick up the pear perfume accord in this …which brings in a touch a watery fruitiness. This is light and sheer with a touch of amber sweetness to round it out. I can’t feel the rose. We will see if she makes an appearance later on.
**EDIT** Ok I just read a bit of this page and I get 0 smoke / tobacco. Interesting that multiple other ppl have gotten either. The only thing I have experienced is the caramel coming forward more.

WillowJoe

This is a quite nice, basic vanilla. It is nothing groundbreaking. It smells like a million other vanillas out there.

The initial 20 minutes are lovely. Then it fades away, so that the only way to smell it is with your nose planted on your skin.

Kyrstenwolf

I have it on right now.
I smell burnt rubber, tobacco and oddly pine? Mixed with vanilla extract for baking.
Horrid.

kikibonini

When I first started using Vanilla Woods, it exuded a rich, caramel-vanilla that I found intoxicating, and it immediately made its way to my favorites list.

However, about a month into using it, something shifted and I started to detect a strong tobacco top note that I swear was not there before. I was displeased by this surprise initially because the fragrance I fell in love with had changed, and also I typically strongly dislike smoky notes - Jazz Club makes me sick. But I have grown fondly of this sweeter take on tobacco - it just was not what I was expecting.

I found that the smokiness does also dissipate after a few hours and it settles into the sweeter warm caramel-vanilla that I had initially fallen in love with.

sarahtew

I wore this out a few nights ago and a gust of wind blew by me as the bouncer at a bar was checking my ID and he just about lost his mind telling me I smelled good. Love this one.

dreaming-in-moss

I don't like most vanilla fragrances because they tend to be cloyingly sweet but I looooove the way that this smells on me. I wasn't impressed by the scent when I first sampled it on a paper strip, but when I put it on my skin it smells so much more complex. It smells like a spicy earthy/woody vanilla scent with fruity/floral notes, well balanced, not overly sweet.

I don't smell cigarette ashes or tobacco in it at all unlike what other reviewers have said, and neither have the other people I've had sample it. Maybe there's a bad batch of it circulating?

The only bad thing I have to say about this perfume is that the longevity isn't very good on me, only about 3hrs.

riata04

Sweet and simple scent! The pear note tends to be particularly pronounced on me, so it leans more sweet and fruity rather that woody on me, but I do enjoy the light sweetness and freshness that it adds. It really feels like a spring perfume to me for this reason, but I've enjoy it all winter as well, especially layered with a more woody fragrance. I'm not sure if I'll repurchase it, but I'm enjoying it while I have it!

circeinvidiosa

Smells like my clothes after I spend a weekend camping and sitting by a smoky fire. Not something I’m wanting to intentionally smell like.

oea10

gorgeous, yet disgusting. I have mixed feelings about this. It smells super good - sweet vanilla and woody - when I spray it on my hair, but when it's on my skin, it's kind of nauseating like an ashtray. I'd recommend trying a sample because this is probably not a good blind buy.

etherealwitch24

I did really look forward to this cologne and it kind of disappoints me. I can smell alcohol clearly at first spritz and around 20 minutes later it gives off a mild pear smell. This scent lingers around next 1 hour. The dry down vanilla note appears at the end of the party and exudes a delicate, clean vanilla which is cool yet I have to suffer the former alcoholic smell to have it. Sillage & longevity are both weak as maybe someone sitting right next to me still rarely smell it. Overall, the lack of longevity prevents it from leaving a lasting impression. This perfume is best suited for casual outings or short-lived events where a temporary olfactory experience is desired.

chloejade

It’s okay! I think it’s nice, but it definitely does have a strong plasticky, syrupy scent to it. For being named Vanilla Woods, I don’t get much wood at all!

dv_67

This has to be one of the most disgusting perfumes I've ever smelled. It's absolutely horrible. It literally smelled like a vape, cigarette or something. I honestly cannot believe this perfume even exists. I read comments here from people saying it smells like vanilla and stuffs like that, bro where? How? When? It smells like ash, cigarettes, a vape equipment

sspeidel12

To me this smells exactly like the cheirosa 40 by sol de Janeiro except with a smoky/plastic twist. With that being said I do thoroughly enjoy this scent but I have to push past the initial hint of a faint cigarette. It lasts decently well for me and the dry down is my favorite part of this fragrance but the projection could be better.

Shimmer412

Beautiful, sweet, softly woodsy vanilla! I’m a huge fan of vanilla fragrances and this is one of my favorites! I blind bought it after hearing lots of good reviews about it, and although it wasn’t quite what I’d expected I still love it! I had expected something that was more woodsy vanilla smelling. Instead, Vanilla Woods is a very sweet scent with a soft woodsy smell and notes of vanilla, pear, caramel, and amber! To me, the rose note is the least prominent, which I’m ok with because I’m not really much of a fan of rose notes. I do find this rather comforting, especially during the dry down once it’s not quite so sweet! A great fall and winter fragrance!

I typically get great longevity with fragrances (even body mists!) and Vanilla Woods is no exception! It lasts all day long on me! The silage is good too… it can be smelled from about an arm’s length away!

For reference, some of my favorite vanilla fragrances include: Kayali Vanilla 28 (a must have IMO!), Burberry Goddess, Nest Golden Nectar, Jessica Simpson Fancy, Juicy Couture Viva La Juicy Gold Couture, and JHAG Vanilla Vibes!

FeleciaB

First time I wore this (blind buy) I liked it alot. Second time i was hit with the ashtray smell. Usually I can deal with the smell of smoke due to admittedly being a smoker but this did throw the scent off for me. Unfortunate cause i like the other notes i smell. I'm returning it today and buying something else

Kendralenses

I absolutely love this fragrance. I feel that it’s a unique enough vanilla to stand out within my collection. I have many different vanilla scents because it’s one of my favorite notes and this one is just something special. Comforting and extremely long lasting. I don’t get a ton of “woods” but I also really love woody notes and can go for a wood forward perfume and not be put off. If there are woods in here it’s very subtle and doesnt come out much on my skin. I applied some to my neck yesterday afternoon and can still smell it on myself 24 hours later. I purchased the travel size rollerball and am almost out so I will definitely be committing to a full bottle. It’s also really nice to layer. I have the cherry ambition from 7 virtues as well and they layer together super nicely.

dzzzzy

This is such a lovely light but warm vanilla scent. The opening is a little fresh, maybe because of the pear and it dries down to a true vanilla bean scent on me. If lasts maybe 4 hours on me. I think it's great for casual daytime settings or when I want to feel cozy.

fragrancefin

It's a sweet, warm vanilla scent. I put a little on my wrists and could smell it even when my arm wasn't too close to my face. It didn't last very long on me, unfortunately, but it's quite nice overall.

Shelbylovessmellys

If I spray it too close to my skin it makes me sneeze and irritates my nose. Other than that, it’s a simple yet beautiful fragrance. It smells just like the name-a comforting woody vanilla.

fairycoffins

I haven’t worn this in a while, despite enjoying this scent. It’s pretty, but very intimate, short-lived, and the rollerball isn’t good at all. I dug this out today on a whim and was instantly hit with a scent memory — God is a Woman by Ariana Grande. On me, in this cold weather, they smell nearly identical. They do share a lot of the same notes, with the main differences being the caramel in VW, and the ambrette and orris in GIAW. The pear, rose, and wood are the stars of the show in both, with my body chemistry. But with the price of VW being notably higher and the performance being quite lackluster, I would recommend GIAW over this. Neither will be a repurchase for me though.

makelikeatree

Smells cheap, very boring. One note.

oubliette

With all the clean marketing behind this brand, I was expecting something fresher and more natural-smelling. This smells like a blast of department store gourmand with a side of cigarettes. I agree with the comparisons to Le Couvent Eau des Missions, although I remember that being rummier and less chemical smelling.

eslbrittani

I love the opening of this scent but the dry down is off for me. It makes me want to gag. It smells like those cherry cough drops with honey and menthol and weird combination of syrupy ickness. Turned off by the scent now.

dantar

Right off the bat this smells EXACTLY like El Nabil’s Royal Gold, as in it carries that same burnt plastic scent. I see that other reviews are picking up a syrupy/overly sweet note but I’m not getting that at all. It’s a really straightforward earthy vanilla scent, but not a fun one. The pear & rose aren’t really present, which is unfortunate bc it could add some much needed sweetness/depth. I guess you can say it’s a mature scent(I’m trying to be nice lol).

This just isn’t the perfume for me, I like sweet vanillas, but if you like it, just get Royal Gold. It’s like $45 for 3.4 oz vs $88 for half the amount.

sunsetwitch

I am not even joking this smells like a burnt vape. Another review said it smells like an ashtray left out in the rain, which is entirely true as well. There is also a note of burnt rubber. It straight up smells like chemicals with the smallest note of vanilla, which isn't even good. I picked up no other notes besides that. I am not even sure how they managed to do this. I have smelled unpleasant fragrances many times but nothing compares to this. Unless you want to smell like chemicals and get a headache I do not recommend. Not a safe blind buy.

sophiaph

This perfume doesn't smell like vanilla on my skin at all for the first 4-5 hours. It actually doesn't really smell like any of the scent notes. It smells like a warm, slightly sweet roasted barley tea. It's very woody and grain-y with only a slight amount of sweetness. I doubt this is what it smells like on most people but I'm not a huge fan. After several hours it dries into a very weak, light vanilla scent. I imagine this is moreso what it's supposed to smell like on the average person.

Msala140

Opens up very sweet, can’t tell if it’s pear but more vanilla to my nose, w a tobacco smell even though I’m not seeing it on the notes . Then this turns into a cigarette smell, which I don’t mind because I do like the smell of it. It eventually settles into a vanilla and caramel smell with the hint of tobacco. I like it , I wouldn’t buy a full bottle of this though.

noctivagantlibertine

Sickeningly sweet, this is 99% overpowering cheap caramel syrup and cloying amber on me. I can't smell any pear or rose at all, just a bit of vanilla. Does not change much over time. I get why some people think this smells like a sweet cigar but it doesn't really to me, just the caramelcaramelcaramel melty sticky floor of a candy factory comes off that way a little. It seems to me like childlike dessert-on-speed scents will the unfortunate fragrance trend of this decade, like the past tuberose, baby powder, and power suit floriental waves.

marsenrose

It's ok. Mostly smelled vanilla (like in vanilla extract kind of way). Did not smell pear or rose at all. I personally don't get any tobacco, but I do get a really faint woodsy smell.

ganesha

why didn’t i like this at first? i get a lot of compliments wearing it and it is very yummy. i don’t think i used to be a sweet vanilla gourmand girl like i am now.

Taydorino

This smelled good at first - like a basic vanilla with a touch of woodsy deep, amber warmth. On paper.

The second this touched my skin it turned into an over-flowing ashtray that was left out in the rain. HARD pass.

annafaerie

Does not smell even the slightest bit like By The Fireplace to me, and I get zero tobacco, but I think the perfumes have a similar “vibe”. Vanilla Woods is almost like By The Fireplace’s girlfriend.

On me, the vanilla and caramel come out on top, but the rose and pear give it a freshness. So pretty. Feminine, but not an in-your-face girlhood explosion type of gourmand.

There’s a warmth and spiciness that give her a richness I like. Studious, fall/winter scent.

If By The Fireplace is Henry Winter, Vanilla Woods is Camilla Macaulay.

jkellar1121

When I spray this on paper it smells so good! Unfortunately when I spray it on my skin, my skin chemistry really doesn’t work with this fragrance. My skin turns this fragrance into a dirty barnyard animal smell. I’m so disappointed because I love it on other people. I have a rollerball, I think I’m going to give it away.

verytrulylauren

I love vanilla and the super similar dupe for this (SDJ Cherosia 40), so I wanted to love this SO BAD. Unfortunately, it doesn’t mix with my body chemistry AT ALL. Smells absolutely horrible- an immediate scrub off in the shower fragrance for me.

FragranceJunkie95

This is not a love for me, but I do like it. I sprayed the sample I had of this on my clothes one day. This fragrance lasted on my clothes even after doing laundry! This never happens. Wow

imegaphone

I read somewhere (maybe even here in the reviews) that it could be a genetic thing whether or not someone picks up the cigarettes in this. And that may be true or there really may be different batches where this is more prominent.
I LOVE Tobacco Vanille by Tom Ford and I love Jazz Club!
Those two were my most used scents in the winter of 2020!
Believe me when I tell you the cigarette ash stink that I pick up in Vanilla Woods is entirely different than the tobacco from Tom Ford or Jazz Club!! The tobacco in Tobacco Vanille is slightly sweet (clean!!) sort of like gingerbread, and in Jazz Club it's more dry and smoky (lightly) but still there is nothing unpleasant about it! On the other hand in Vanilla Woods I get ZERO TOBACCO - it is STRAIGHT UP NASTY WET CHEAP CIGARETTE BUDS SMELLED FROM AN ASHTRAY. I felt it was necessary to make this distinction because this is definitely not a safe blind buy if you generally like tobacco.. There is no tobacco here it's just cigarette ash. I really wanted to love this but trust me, if your nose will pick up the nasty scent I am writing about, you will get zero vanilla pear caramel goodness you were hoping for.
I also agree with those who think this smells like rotting teeth/calculus- YES 100% and the unfortunate patient is a smoker!

Kylix

Identical to Cologne of the Missions Le Couvent, with better performance.

vewawang

a sweet creamy/caramel type vanilla, i dont smell any pear OR rose at all, very basic but really yummy scent. i also don't get any tobacco note, but layering it with a fragrance that has that note would work really well in my opinion.

brainrott

im absolutely obsessed! definitely one of my most complimented perfumes. i always get told i smell like a vanilla sugar cookie but not in a sickly sweet artificial way! it has a woody richness on the drydown with a hint of a smoky tobacco but i dont think its overpowering like the other reviews are saying!

hminh.nguyen

I love this fragrance! I get the tobacco note that people are mentioning, but it's not overpowering or anything to me. It has this woodsy, thick and sticky feel, quite unique and classy. This is what I imagine TF Tobacco Vanille would smell like without the spices. I only wish it project better and last longer!

pynchbookclub

I really like this scent, especially for fall and winter. The vanilla/caramel is creamy and I love the pear note. I would pair this with other gourmand scents for an even deeper creamier vanilla scent, or with a pear scent to elevate the fresh, pair note for a brighter or warmer day. I pair this with BBW Pumpkin Pecan Waffles for a deeper sweeter scent, or with BBW Emerald Mist to match the pear note. The rose note is non-existent to me, which is great because I hate rose.

However, I do smell the cigarette a little bit. Not sure where that came from because the first few times I wore this, I did not get the cigarette note. I'll have to test it out a few more times. Otherwise, I love this scent.

wintersnow7

Sweet syrupy vanilla amber. Unlike many other syrupy perfumes, Vanilla Woods isn't remotely medicinal. I get very little fruitiness or rose from this. It is so difficult to find a true vanilla that isn't disrupted by sugariness or powderiness but vanilla woods is a true vanilla extract scent.

I understand why some people say that this smells like tobacco but it is so very subtle. That smell quickly dissipates on clothes and skin, but you can smell it in the bottle. Thats not a bad thing in my book. Nothing wrong with slight smokiness. For comparison, its not near as smoky as Commodity Milk or even Dear Polly. Im surprised people in some reviews are so taken back by the smokines when so many love fragrances like Tobacco Vanille and By the Fireplace which I find unwearable.

It isn't complex but is a great staple. Vanilla Woods is a beautiful "adult" gourmand. It’s sweet, but isn't overly sweet and works well in any situation during the fall and winter. It's really great for layering but can also stand on its own. To me, it’s not unique enough to be a signature scent but it's great to have one quality simple vanilla in your collection (if you are a gourmand lover like myself).

This is somewhat comparable to Sol de Janeiro's 40 scent but I prefer Vanilla Woods. Vanilla Woods is the heavier cold weather version where as Sol de Janeiro is airier, fruitier, and more powdery.

astridkh3

I simply don’t like this at all. As mentioned below, the tobacco is overwhelming and makes this kind of cloying and foul. The rose doesn’t help either.. kind of creates this image to me of a woman who smokes a black and mild and then sprays some cheap vanilla body mist + rose room spray to cover it up. Considering this is meant to be a woody vanilla, both notes are overpowered. It smells cheap and medicinal on paper and skin.

Lauren Da

At first the tobacco note feels strange and unexpected. Very quickly one gets used to it. And then it becomes an obsession. Without this note, Vanilla Woods would be just a generic sweet scent. But the tobacco note makes it special.

Beckyyyc

Maybe it's just my body chemistry, but this smells like a dirty old ashtray in the worst way. It makes me feel ill.

thefriendly_plague.doctor

I enjoy this perfume, but the tobacco notes are a little overwhelming. Reminds me of these cigars I used to like when I was younger, but probably won’t buy it again.

Update: Nevermind I can’t live without this now. Will be buying a full bottle.

To me, this perfume gives me a little bit of nostalgia bc of how sweet the opening is. It really reminds me of those blue raspberry spray candies that you spray in your mouth. Then it dries down to a sweet vanilla scent. It’s a new favorite of mine

Zoeanne

Woody, sweet vanilla with a touch of fruit. I really like this and it is a very easy to wear, everyday scent. Very warm and cozy. Quite simple, not mind blowing but lovely.

Freesauntie

This, to me, smells like vanilla Playdough™️ when first applied, but in the best way. I don't usually wear it alone. I have a lot of fun layering this one under/over some of my other scents or essential oils. I have a rollerball that's lasted me 2 years.

I'll try to notice a tobacco or other notes that others seem to pick up on when wearing alone.

***Update***: I've been having a lot of fun wearing this alone. I can smell the subtle rose note along with the creamy vanilla, and I totally understand the crowd-pleasing aspect of this fragrance.

stephm42120

There is a dash of cigarette-tobacco in this composition that reminds me of Irish cream or berry Dutch packs. I only really notice this in the opening; it softens as it dries down. It’s a burnt caramel & vanilla scent. Perfect for fall-winter. I gave this away to my little teenage cousin and she loved it.

Balexae

Went from a love at first sniff to something that smells stale after a few months. I tried other perfumes from the same scent family that smells better then this I just want to declutter it or use it for layering it’s doesn’t preform well anymore on my skin.

preskitty16

This was really gross. Smelled like cigarettes with a touch of vanilla. Gave me a headache

Chinello23

Vanilla woods is such a creamy, beautiful vanilla. There is something tobacco-esque in the composition, but it's subtle and warm and delicious.

aertz

Very sweet but not in a heavy headache-inducing way (😒 Kayali Vanilla 28). Light woody, smoky, and fruity twist. Very versatile, would work for nearly any situation. I can't stop smelling it!

shonnaashauntel

This perfume seems to have a lot of bad reviews but it’s so good on my skin. It’s so sweet and perfect

Anmada85

I love this on clothes but once it’s on my skin it smells like a cold ashtray.

laymoon

It's a really nice sweet gourmand with a fireplace woodiness to it. I'm surprised some reviews don't mention the wood notes at all because that's the second thing I smell aside from the Madagascar vanilla. It's comforting and doesn't have that synthetic type of vanilla, more like natural vanilla sticks with caramel. The pear and rose are light, but it keeps this fragrance from being very basic. I've received compliments when people are near so sillage is moderate and perfect for winter/colder months.

That being said, DO NOT GET THE ROLLERBALL!! I don't know if I've gotten bad batches but the two rollerballs I've tried of this fragrance smell like straight-up burnt wood and cigar ashes with zero hint of vanilla. The sample size and travel spray are much more true to the notes in my experience.

funkadelic15

This is a very nice vanilla. I prefer it in cooler weather vs warm.
Generally speaking, It is simple, not incredibly strong vanilla, and very unoffensive. lt definitely leans gourmand with the sweetness... and it doesn't lean smokey or balsamic on my skin. When its warm, i really get the bright pear- almost reminds me of like an apple crumble. Baked pie? But in cooler weather its such a gorgeous, deep warm amber vanilla scent. Like caramel cookies while still being mature. I find the sillage isnt great, but I don't mind this, and intimately, my boyfriend absolutely loves it and goes crazy for me. I also appreciate this brand for being non-toxic!!
I'm really thrilled to see what else 7Virtues puts out.

jbaby283

I don't know how people smell anything else but vanilla woods (obviously, although just a tad bit woody), sweet fruity pear and a load ton of caramel in this perfume (and a leather undertone but my skin amps up leather so idk). It's so smooth and so so yummy, almost salivating. A gourmand in my book. I just got a travel yesterday but am contemplating to get a full one, but idk if I should because projection is very intimate, like, it disappears after 30 minutes, and it feels that I'm a bit allergic to it. But longevity is quite nice. I wore it to bed and was still able to smell it the next day.

I probably will get a FB eventually if I test it more and can confirm that I am not in fact allergic to it, just because this is the perfect scent to use around the house for me, considering it's a clean perfume as well, which means I will not have to worry too much for using it daily to sleep.

Does smell like the little sister of goldfield and banks silky woods with vanilla woods being a teenager if silky woods is a beautiful woman in her late 20s. I love both.

Update: Bought a FB. No regret. It's the best.

van1lla

I really wanted to like this, as I am trying to find "healthier" perfumes. The vanilla note is lovely, but unfortunately, I also smell cigarettes and a "sharpness" as though you're smelling a fireplace.

druxyroses

80% vanilla, 15% body odor, 5% cigarettes...not my favorite, but my boyfriend said, "You smell nice; you smell like a marshmallow." Respectfully, if you think this smells like Cherosa '40, please see a doctor or something.

Allegra.b23

I have to start by saying that I'm reallyyyy picky with my perfumes, especially vanillas. This vanilla I love, it's sweet and lovely, with a slight spice to it. It's not a super deep and complex vanilla, but I love layering it with other perfumes (especially Cherry Ambition from 7 virtues) to give it more depth when I feel like it. Overall a really beautiful, classic vanilla.

poodleParty

I'm a big fan of this brand, but this is one scent that I just can't wear. It really smells like cigarettes on my skin -- must be a skin chemistry thing? Everything else from this brand gets thumbs up from me though. 🤩

ruxela

The woods got bored and went away :)))

emmadrift

Tried this as part of a sample set, but I do love this, but not enough to buy it though. Reminds me heavily of Al-Rehab Golden Sands.

nruthh

The good: in cooler weather, this is baked pears soaked in vanilla and sugar and drizzled with caramel. There’s a fresh bouquet of pink roses on the table, and the roses are emitting a sort of vintage, champagne sparkling scent. It’s nighttime and there’s dim, cozy lighting. You’re on a date, or maybe it’s a self care night and you’re indulging your senses. It’s quite lovely.

The bad? In warm weather, this smells like halitosis or like someone just ate a bunch of sweet corn and it’s lingering on their breath.

Why oh why must this fragrance have two personalities?! Ugh! I’m glad I have it in mh rotation for winter months, but be careful in warmer months. It’s quite a switch up!

yuzu2408

I really wanted to love this since I’m on a hunt for THE vanilla perfume and so many people recommened Vanilla Woods. However, it smells so sour, almost rotten to me. First time trying it, I had to immediately rub it off because the sourness was making me nauseous. Decided to revisit it today and give it a seconf chance…. Nope. So sour and gross. I would not want to smell like this or smell it on anyone. Maybe it just doesn’t mix well with my body chemistry.

crystalpixi

really wanted to love this, but i'm getting tobacco ://

Lolodojo

Smells like a Pier 1 store. Sickly sweet vanilla lotion and random woodsy potpourri.

WitchQueen

I got a free 2 ml sample and went on a journey sampling this. At first I thought it was too sweet, then I thought it was an impressive and well balanced airy vanilla and wood scent. Now I realize I like the scent, but prefer it for a candle and not a perfume. But I don't really go for vanillas.

MrsPress

So much better on paper than on skin, most fragrances are the opposite. Glad I tried on skin before making a decision to buy.

QueOndaGuera

Shocked that I don’t like it. The notes read like my kind of fragrance but there’s something funky in the juice. Vanilla and caramel are the most dominant and I get a weird fruit thing in there that may be the pear? But it smells like old sour pear in a compost bin instead. Even in the dry down, the weird sourness remains with vanilla and caramel but it’s subdued a bit. I can’t detect much of a wood note. At least I only got a sample size.

OtherPeople'sChildren

This is a lovely warm vanilla caramel. Settles beautifully into my skin, and is my personal pick to layer with other fragrances and amp up the vanilla. One of my favourite vanillas for sure. Lucious without smelling food grade. It lasts a good 7 hours on me.

gory-rilmore

Disregard the “woods” in the name. I could see this layering well with something woody, though.

I do find this a little more subtle and grounded than Cloud, but it’s still too much sweetness for me, and I’m not loving the rose note—it’s giving a desert tray with Turkish delight and praline.

makingnoscents

I love this scent.
On my skin it leans gourmand and not floral at all, like a caramel macchiato. I find little development as in the top and base not are pretty much the same. But so what? It’s straightforward and everyday-worthy.

skai21

Tested this on my skin today and didn't like it. No woods to my nose and vanilla was very soft. As mentioned below, there is an unsettling note that seems to come across like fruit + ashes + plasticky bubblegum popcorn caramel? It sits in a really strange place for me. I usually love woods and vanilla notes but this just wasn't it.

amina04

I was expecting to like this judging by the notes as well as all the reviews and hype around this fragrance, so I blind bought it when it was finally available in Australia (luckily only a travel-size). Upon first sniff, I knew I had made a mistake. There is something so unsettling about this fragrance, I think the addition of fruity notes really threw it off - it would’ve been perfect if it was just vanilla + woody. I think it smells like bin juice and rotting fruit with a dose of smoky vanilla extract. I really tried to like it but not the biggest fan of this one.

abc1111

Very woody at first, not a fan of that. Then vanilla comes out, sweetened by caramel. Thought I would love it but it’s just a like.

Edit: It smells better after sitting for a while. Love it now! It’s great for layering. Will give masculine scents a more unisex or feminine vibe. I layer it with Tom Ford Ebene Fume.

santiniansia

It's simple but amazing! It's one of the few things my guy has complimented. I have more expensive, more complex stuff but I still love this. The pear lingers around for a bit, which is good, but obviously it's the basenotes that run the show. Longevity isn't that great, but I don't mind overspraying this.

Versatility

I have only just test sprayed this on my arm and all I can think of is that it smells the way Licor 43 tastes

vegetables

I've been hoping to bottle the scent of the poire-vanille soap from La Maison de Marseille for years now... I am so glad to have found it with this perfume house! Absolutely no wood in this "vanilla wood" fragrance, at all, I think their more sensuous number is Santal Vanille. Vanilla Woods is the scent of a French pastry shop in the early mornings, and I am so glad to be there everyday.

Bibi16

Same juice as Cologne of the Missions Le Couvent, sol de janeiro 40 but this has a slight metallic smell to it.

trinitydive

i usually love all vanilla scents but theres just something about this one that makes me feel naseous! it reminds me of highschool when i would spray vs bare vanilla on right after running the mile in gym class... like the other people have mentioned it is similar to jpg la belle so i think it must be the shared pear note 🤷🏻♀️ just not for me

SweetBonnebelle

I wanted to like this so much, as the notes look delicious. But there is a note that smells like medicine, or tigerbalm that I don't like.

shaeri87

I dont quite understand how there are no woody notes listed on fragrantica or their website, this is very woody to my nose, which makes sense since it is called Vanilla Woods. This is just not gourmande enough for me, it's too woody. My favorite vanillas are Indult Tihota, Maison Mataha Escapade Gourmande, and Mazzolari Vaniglia for a more caramelized vanilla. If you are a gourmande lover, I dont think you will think this fits the bill... if you like really sweet and sugary fragrances, but want go keep it in the "clean" formula category, I would try Skylar Boardwalk Delight.

OTA Mom

Sickly sweet caramel and vanilla at first, then after a few minutes sweetness dials back, becomes bearable and the rose note emerges.

Pixied0ll

I love this scent, and to me it’s very distinctive. I can tell when someone is wearing it. It starts off with fresh pear followed by warm vanilla amber, a touch of rose and drizzled caramel. The caramel isn’t overpowering, it’s more of a beautiful background - the pear and vanilla are definitely the stars of the show. To me this can be worn year round, unless you’re in scorching hot and humid weather, then I can see this becoming a little heavy- but on a typical summers day it will be heavenly. The only thing Is that it doesn’t last that long, I found it to last a little under 4 hours. I still love it though.

noahwjperry01

i get a super delicious scent at the top of this for max 2 minutes - however on dry down, on me it smells faintly of vanilla with a warm backing of like... dirt or soil? not for me. got this as a sample - simply not my type of fragrance! i definitely get the "woods" of this fragrance - just not my cup of tea :) Thankful i only have a tester though and didn't blind buy like I was going to!!

Filyra

Got the 7 Virtues discovery set and was quite surprised with this. I literally smell candied pop corn? Is it the pear or the caramel that's doing this? No idea. It's not bad by any means, but not my idea of sensual or whatever I was expecting from this scent. If you can sample it, by all means do.

f4iry

cant believe all the negative reviews. the perfume isn’t even that complex to invoke the paragraphs it’s receiving 😹. it smells realllly good. if you like vanilla you’ll love this. very sensual

Zombie Apocalypse

I smell no pear, rose or caramel. I only smell ashes/ashtray and soft vanilla. Some people say the ash smell is smokyness. To me it just smells like ashes. I am on the fence about this one. I think its ok somewhat pleasant, but nothing blowing me away. I would love a reformulation as i love the ongoing call for healthier toxic free fragrance. I wear it on my wrists as a layering scent.

Cattythe3rd

Smells heavily sugary like a sugar cookie - if you want to smell like you're in a cookie box, this is for you. But I would not opt for this as an enjoyer of less super sweet scents. Somehow this reminds me of Prada Candy but much less refined with how sweet and one dimensional this smells.

LaMiaRosa

This could have been good if it weren't for the pear. That's just me though - I can't stand pear in anything. In this case, I think it might be the combination of pear and caramel that makes this scent smell so syrupy. This actually smells like fruit juice to me, especially in the opening. It's very very sweet at first but that calms down on the drydown, where I like it more. But I can't get past that pear!

Edit: Just realised this reminds me of a toned down version of JPG La Belle Le Parfum... not a fan of that one! Gives me a stomach ache. I will say an hour after first spray of Vanilla Woods the pear disappates, the vanilla heightens and this is much nicer. I also get a hint of the caramel. Overall, it becomes much more well-rounded and the juvenile, cheap-smelling and slightly sickening sweetness tones down to quite a pleasant and addictive scent! By the way I definitely don't get the cigarette/ash tray smell others are getting at all, so I think that's dependent on your chemistry.

Zombie Apocalypse

Had high hopes 4 this...but alas i too can smell ashtray notes that others mentioned!😫😭 Was dying to get my nose on this, but it was unavailable where i lived. I finally bought a 10ml spray. I am a vanilla lover and in general love nude warm smelling perfumes and vanilla skin scents. I have 3 other vanilla rollerballs and now this. LaVanilla Pure Vanilla which I really dislike, Pacifica Island Vanilla which is 2 sweet & tweeny, and Korres Black Sugar which I love to death!🙌
This is one is kinda pleasant, smells like ashes though (maybe the cedar). This is not my my favourite at all. Korres Black Sugar is a clean fragrance and a boozy vanilla which i much prefer to this. I also agree there is a slight chemical smell in this and its irritating my skin. I can even smell it as i lift the cap.🤯🤯

annanas

Blind bought this. Smelled good at first sniff. After wearing it for a while the dry down smells like insulin on me.

gurle94

Smells like a pretty, fruity vanilla mixed with chemicals/ashes. Based on the marketing, I don't think it's what they were going for

Ahump55

This smelled off to me. I did a blind buy on the reviews and the notes, and in theory I should love it. It just smells like a really odd combination of scents to me. It is not pleasant - like burnt fruit on flowers. I didn’t get any vanilla scent at all. For reference, I love Wild Vanilla Orchid, Alien Goddess (and the intense). I like Le Belle and Born in Roma (and the intense).

HannahRosesAreRed

Firstly, the the name is misleading. There are no woody notes in Vanilla Woods. Instead, this is a straight vanilla-caramel gourmand. Vanilla, caramel, pear and rose all together, blended to become one of the sweetest, most straightforward and linear fragrances I've ever scented, let alone from this brand. The opening is a little off-putting, heavily chemical upon immediately spraying, but that dissipates within a minute to reveal its true, heavy sweetness.

The amber gives Vanilla Woods its warmth and staying power. In the heat of summer, it's a little too much. Perhaps this would bloom better in colder weather–the vanilla-pear combo is a classic for fall and winter. I will say it boasts good sillage and VERY impressive longevity. One spray was strong enough to be detected from an arm's length, and clung to my skin for nearly forever. Even after washing my hands and waking the next day, I can still detect the hint of caramel on my wrist. Major props to Seven Virtues–this is well formulated. It just needs a little more depth and dimension, and this would be a major winner.

HisLimpinSista

I think this perfume needs to be reformulated. It has all reasons to succeed, great base notes- of vanilla, but it lacks some top nose pizzazz. (l love to spray myself with several vanilla perfume together, to create an intoxicating scent trail and improve longevity. I smelled it in sephora and it was good. It also misleadingly seemed fresh to me, like the Pacifica vanilla perfume. But when l came home and sprayed it on cleaned skin, it's possible that l tried so many perfumes that day that l may havesprayed it on some other sweet perfume already on my skin it had a distinctive smell of vanilla+ dank wood and stale cigarettes/tobacco... oops. Basically, if you want a boozy, woody, Tonka Beany vanilla, l would get the trusted Kayali vanilla 28- that's full of tonka beans. It's just the better choice lMHO. at any rate, l wouldn't wear this alone if you're a women. I would layer with Bare Vanilla from VS, Pacifica- Vanilla, or Pacifica silver moon or with Kayali 28, or with Cheirosa 40, or with Love Don't be Shy if you're brave!!

missoneminute

This smells like straight vanilla extract - the sort you tip into cake mix. Not a single other note do I perceive - just vanilla. Smells good of course, but fairly simple.

mcmoots

Where's the wood? This smells like I've gone swimming in a tub of ice cream. Vanilla, caramel, maybe a little bit of pear, that's it. Drydown is straight vanilla.

It's fine, it's a good vanilla.

leximayxo

Can't tell if I like this or not, vanilla 28 is by far a better vanilla though. Smells straight up like vanilla yogurt to me, and I get the cigarette comparisons too.

hellborn_animal

Mmmm.
I'm a vanilla lover through and through.
My search for the perfect vanilla, while also searching for a fresh effervescent rose landed me here, on pure accident.
This brand is new to Australia, and I jumped on it when I saw it available, however I wavered while it was sitting in my cart.
Pear.
Pear makes me think JPG La Belle.. While it's a lovely perfume I did not want another dupe for something I rarely reach for due to the headiness and dare I say cloying pear vanilla spice amalgamation.
Rose with vanilla also had me thinking of Montales Intense Cafe. But nowhere did I see any comparisons to these beastie fragrances and I'm SO glad I bit the bullet with this one.
The pear brings in a juicy brightness to the opening, keeping the vanilla from being too overwhelmingly rich.
Not many fragrances get my mouth watering, but this really did. It's just delicious.

Edit: the dry down reminds me of a slightly sweeter Silky Woods by Goldfield and Banks. Much cheaper though!

CJJLOVESFUMES

I wanted to love this, but the smell of a freshly emptied glass cigarette ash tray is all I get from this one.

flem

A strong, warm vanilla right from the rip. Caramel and amber are obvious as well. It;s sweet and mysterious. Very sensual. A night time fragrance. It has the same type of vanilla as Vetiver and Golden Vanilla and also Tobacco Vanille. Those are each different and add their own twists, but there is no mistaking that the same vanilla note is present in each.

Dry down is basically the same. Warm, sensual amber vanilla. Pretty good longevity and if you like the opening, you get it the entire way through.

iszzieanna

Quite a simplistic and lovely vanilla. The rose is very prominent to me. Super juicy pear in the opening, heavy rose and vanilla heart. The rose isn’t very floral, it’s more creamy and adds to blending in woody vanilla. There is a resemblance to SDV. I like some parts of the scent here and there. Burnt sugar with rose and vanilla’s. But overall no thanks.

SELFCARE_INTROVERT

I get a Sweet; Caramel; Vanilla and VERY Woody Scent. It’s very conflicting to Me because I do like it but it’s a bit to Woody on my Skin. Yet, it’s still nice. It reminds Me of Ariana Grande God is a Woman but that Frag isn’t as Sweet or Woody in the dry down but TO ME they smell very similar.

lola911

This is one of the best vanillas I have ever smelled! It is long lasting and I can really pick up on the caramel when I'm outside in the heat. I do get a little smokiness in the opening, but definitely NOT like cigarettes. Perfect for year round and great for layering. Absolutely nothing bad to say about this scent. 10/10

june7rose

Similar to Guerlain SDV for a third the price and lasts twice as long. It's a total love for me.

dj71

The initial spray of this smelled a bit odd and unpleasant. I think it must be the pear note, though it didn't smell like pear to me. The unpleasantness quickly disappeared to leave one of the sweetest vanilla fragrances I've ever smelled. This is sweet gourmand overload to me. I like it but I wouldn't purchase a full bottle of it. I wouldn't use it enough. From the name I would have thought this has some woody notes in it, but nope no wood anywhere here. If you like super sweet gourmands, this might be something you'd like.

Tntanakis

smells very gourmand vanilla on me
projects so well in the air beautiful trail
compliment getter
perfect for sweet vanilla lovers
was nervous it would smell like juicy couture but on the skin it opens up a lot warmer creamier than juicy which was too heavy on the caramel for me ( same with jessica simpson’s fancy)

Chika-G

You really have to give this one a bit of time because the initial sprays aren't the best. But I left it for a week and came back to it and it is a staple in my collection. Mind you, I got this in the winter.. it is definitely for cooler temperatures. The dry down 😍 (which you don't have to wait long for) sweet, vanilla, caramelly and well blended.

Orchids55

Smells like cough medicine mixed with cigarettes topped off by vanilla extract

AlliCat1215

Beautiful woody vanilla. I layered with Kayali vanilla and it’s very nice. I don’t detect any rose. Longevity and Sillage are moderate.

livelovelaugh0810

to me, it smells chemically and synthetic.
it makes me nauseous and I scrubbed it off.
I tried it at least 8 times with my sample. I wanted to love it. I hate writing mean comments.

I see why other people love it, I truly do.
but here's where personal taste comes in.
I can't stand it.

Like I see where this is trying to go with the fruit vanilla profile, but gosh I just can't stand it.
something about it; I'm guessing the caramel and pear, gives it this viva la juicy-esque, cheap, plasticky scent.

It reminds me of cheirosa 40 too. I can't stand that one either because something about it makes me nauseous.
there's no synthetic caramel note in that one, but it's still. Idk just I get sick.

I can't.

respectable fragrance, but not for me.

unders7

this smells DISGUSTING with my skin chemistry. i tried it again from my sample, just to give it another go because of the great reviews, but jesus christ its horrifying on me. it smells good when it fades after a few hours though; which just leaves me with its vanilla note. but everything before that is appallingly nasty. i cant even describe it other than musty dusty sweetness.

good for everyone it works on though!

nalistine

this smells like a sweet, slightly caramelized pear with cigarette ash sprinkled on top. or what a girl would smell like after spraying a cheap vanilla & pear body spray on herself after smoking, so be wary of that aspect of it. Its an Interesting vanilla but not full bottle worthy imo bc it stays close to skin and can be polarizing if ppl pick up on the cig ash note

ataraxiuh

i wanted to love this but on me it smells like burnt wood, almost cigarette ash, with a very light touch of vanilla. i’m obviously in the minority because this is clearly a fan favorite but definitely sample before purchasing

probs.gourmand

kind of a basic vanilla, but I love basic vanilla. leans cool, so ideal for daytime warm weather, but great for all year around! it does smell similar to the vanilla in sol de janeiro 40 to me!

relaxteas

At first, I got caramelized pear and smoky vanilla. But as it dries down on my skin, the smokiness becomes overwhelming that it smells as if something has burnt.. I can't say much about the sillage and longevity because I washed it off my skin after 4 hours.

Scent: 4/10

Perfumedsecrets

Pretty basic vanilla like Yves Rocher used to make.

Elektra17

I just got this perfume and really love it already. I absolutely want a bigger bottle. It’s a beautifully blended vanilla that is simultaneously simple and complex. It’s definitely a “grown up” vanilla…not fun, candy sweet. Also very happy with performance so far.

It’s NOT a straight vanilla…initially, it’s a slightly floral, airy vanilla with a hint of musk. But within 10-30min, there’s an earthy smoky quality. And within an hour, it mellows out a bit and a beautiful vanilla emerges as the dominant note, with a hint of delicate rose and this underlying faint smokiness.

I think this perfume would be great on its own or layered. While it is a feminine scent to me, I think it would be possible to blend this with something more masculine.

Clairexoxo

I've had this sample for more than a year, at first I disliked the scent but it grew on me! Now, I like it! This is mostly a very sweet and woody vanilla. It has a small boozy undertone which makes this reminiscent of vanilla extract used in baking. There is a smokiness similar to that of cigarettes which is in the background (but when I first tried my sample that was the thing that turned me off... somehow I actually like it now). To me the scent has an overall aromatic quality to it. Very feminine, likable, and young. Be careful if you do not like very sweet scents, woody notes, or smokiness. If you like all of these, give this a sniff! Performance: I got 8 hours on my skin and more than 24 hours on clothing, with moderate to intimate projection then became a skin scent after 5 hours.

Commonscents99

This is a tricky vanilla, it does have an ambery, nutty vanilla scent which does smell like a photorealistic vanilla bean. I can see where it might not work with every skin chemistry because of this musky quality it has it makes it smell slightly like a cigar/cigarette. Almost like someone smoked a cigarette an hour ago and sprayed an expensive vanilla perfume on top. It’s not a bad perfume if it works with your chemistry but on me I can’t overlook that lingering smoker smell.

Sweetboy05

Smells of a photorealistic vanilla. Excellent!

disintigratedwoman

This perfume is divine. I don't think I've ever smelled a better vanilla. And that is taking into account Tihota Indult, Kayali Vanilla 28, etc.

Vanilla Woods opens up with a heavy note of smoke (honestly reminds me of vanilla cigars, or even fresh pack of cigarettes - nothing rancid, just grown-up), along with pear to bring some sparkle and freshness to it. With time, the vanilla starts warming up on the skin and intensifies. The vanilla here is the best part. It smells so warm, natural and well-rounded. Not to mention absolutely edible and delicious.

Sillage for this is actually quite decent - it'll create a beautiful waft around you for the first few hours. On my skin, I can clearly smell the drydown 12+ hours later, so overall, I would say this is a pretty long-lasting fragrance.

I'm sad I overlooked this one for so long, but glad it is finally part of my collection. Hoping 7 Virtues never changes the formula - it is perfect as is.

mermaidshimmer

This is a light, soft projecting vanilla that reminds me of vanilla extract. There's a bitter, realistic note to it that reminds me of vanilla bean.

It's a safe bet for the office, as this does nott have monster sillage. If this works well with your chemistry, as it does with mine, you will smell delicious and get wafts of vanilla that sweetens as the hours go by, when the bitter note dissipates and the middle and bottom notes become more prominent.

Recommending it if you're a vanilla lover and want the vanilla extract experience!

Jodyoatman

I love this scent. It’s very close too, but slightly different than vanilla 28. It lasts all day and for several days on clothes. It’s sweet and warm and comforting. It smells like warm vanilla sauce that you would pour over bread pudding.

lanasmellrey

on others this smells good. with my body chemistry, it smells like BAD BREATH. and yes I def get a weird unlisted lactonic note.

taragsmellzbomb

On me it is Smokey Vanilla goodness my God. I pair this with raw shea butter and I get stopped everywhere.

I also like to layer this with LDBS by Killian & Kayali Vanilla 🔥

emeradora

I tend to be a big fan of vanilla fragrances, and this is no exception. On me, it's woody, slightly boozy, and definitely unisex. I was skeptical when I first saw the odd, gourmand-y cocktail of notes, but to be honest, I don't smell any rose or caramel. What a relief. This scent lasts about 5 hours on me, with moderate projection. It's a nice warm scent to start or end the day—not very complex as vanillas go, but certainly cozy and dependable.

sweetprincessbaby

tbh smells lactonic to me - like vanilla milk u bought as a kid…

gombartz

a lot of people like this, and i do like vanillas, but I really dislike the opening, that smells so synthetic on me, and then dries down to a still quite fakey smelling vanilla. Guess it doesn't do well with everyone's chemistry. Does see to last a pretty decent amount of time.

aimeeberry

I sprayed this on in store and was not impressed, it just seemed like a basic vanilla to me. But as the day wore on I found I really liked the way it sat on my skin. Clean and warm, kind of easy - like a you but better scent. I definitely don't get rose and I'm so thankful for that.

jojococo777

I only use Vanilla Woods to layer. If a fragrance is too masculine on me, I'll add a bit of sweetness like this to balance it out. I wouldn't wear this on its own. I also feel like for the price you can get the same basic vanilla for a lot cheaper. I just have a travel size but I won't be purchasing the full.

ArkangeL

Vanilla Woods is a fun, uncomplicated, easy to wear fragrance crafted from essential oils and sugarcane alcohol. Clean with minimal ingredients and very addictive. An especially natural vanilla that not only works great on its own, but acts as an amazing layering tool for any fragrance you might want to add vanilla to. Nothing further. It’s that simple.

Mshapiro2115

Blind purchase and it's now one of my top five favorite scents. So warm and sweet with a hint of spicy Amber, just a hint though. The rollerball is perfect for on the go because you will need to reapply, this doesn't last more than 3-4 hours on skin. It's a very personal scent that I am in love with.

calypsoorangeblossom

If you have Dama Bianca by Xerjoff please layer this with Vanilla Woods ;)

ashdenies

On paper, this seems like a perfume I would hate, but it's ended up as one of my favorites. I avoid rose as a rule, because it tends to come straight to the front and overpower everything else on me, but the strong vanilla note keeps it in check. I also don't personally enjoy smelling edible, so that caramel note had me worried, but I get more of that crisp and juicy pear than anything too sticky sweet. I think "Vanilla Woods" is a bit of a misnomer, as I'm not getting anything particularly woody, but I'm not mad about it. Definitely worth a try if you like vanillas.

anthirasamsara

It's so strange, after the gorgeous top notes settle in, I get rubber. Like a tire shop. So disappointed I couldn't get this to work for me.

olitunia

I really like a sweet woody vanilla and this delivers. It has a syrupy, fruity quality to it as it’s pear and the rose completes it nicely too. It’s warm, cozy, the projection is not super strong in my opinion. A bit overpriced for what you get but I bought this looking for a Michael Kors midnight shimmer dupe and it works.

Vanilla Woods’ 4 out of 5 rating is not necessarily surprising to me. Vanilla, Caramel, and Amber are arguably the most popular notes in scents. Yet, I have been left feeling very disappointed by this scent. Of course, the endless praise made me have very high expectations for this perfume. Upon initial spray you get a genuine blast of vanilla pod - it’s lovely! Thankfully, it doesn’t lean play-doughy or cheap smelling. I get some hint of the caramel alongside this but it is not the most dominating note in here.

My main problem with this scent is the lack of longevity and sillage. I can’t even smell the pear or the rose in here. If I’m being generous, this maybe lasts around 3 hours on me which is mysterious given the strong and promising base notes. Despite liberal spraying, this perfume just doesn’t seem to last on me unfortunately! I will finish up my sample and hope for the best - I do wish this fragrance worked for me liked it has for others but I digress.

If you are a vanilla lover then definitely give it a try, I think that its a reasonably priced quality scent but sadly something in here just doesn’t stick to my skin…

italiancandi

As a former smoker, I slightly smell an expensive cigar (not cigarette)that is sweet and vanilla. Other times woody with sweet vanilla. Beautiful. Not cheap cigarette at all. Unique, feminine and so glad I bought this. The drydown is everything.
If you are a vanilla enthusiast, yes you need this in your collection

Thaispla

Smells like I'm having a vanilla Halls (those hard candy for sore throat) after smoking a cheap cigarette. Really awful experience since I've never smoked before.

The Sasha Scents

This fragrance is unisex but leans a bit more feminine in my opinion. This is a gorgeous "clean" fragrance that has some nice lasting power. It smells deliciously sweet with ripe pear that is drizzled with a slightly sticky caramel, making this literally smell like a desert! The vanilla and rose give this fragrance that extra oomph! I love this one and if you want something that is clean, then this is a wonderful perfume to try!

SensitiveRecluse

I know the top note is pear, but I swear this smells like a caramel apple in the lightest, prettiest way. A jammy rose and sweet vanilla round out the caramel so that it's not too sweet. And that initial hit of juiciness in the opening is just fantastic. As a person who gets headaches from gourmands, this is a fragrance that I'm tempted to get a full bottle of.

Annie.K

I want love this one Soo much, i really like similar scents. But this one smells like balsamico with vinegar, and pickled onion juice. Nothing sweet or pretty. I hope i got a some default batch. I really wanna cry, i had so much expectation

shoujomarina

it is a delicious fruity caramel smell but when i tell you it smells exactly like al rehab’s golden sand perfume oil. which is literally 1/10 of the price. just did a side-by-side. i love the packaging of 7 virtues but that would be the only difference or benefit in buying it. also used to get an exact dupe of this at an arabian perfumery, but luckily came across Golden Sand. sol de janeiro cheirosa 40 also is a dupe of the same thing! .

nothing like kayali vanilla 28, tiktok be lying lol

JustAsh

A very comforting and smooth vanilla. It’s juicy from the pear, yet smoky at the same time. Great for fall weather but could worn in spring if layered. I love to layer this with Kayali Vanilla 28 sometimes to add some sweetness to it. It does not last very long on its own or project past your scent bubble. I completely understood the hype behind this one. Sephora couldn’t keep this in stock at one point.

GracieGardener

Just when I thought I was done discovering new vanilla frags, I get gifted a sample and it has 3 of my all time favorite notes; vanilla, pear and rose! It is such a scrumptious treat. It’s moderately sweet, with a nice warmth from the amber and bit of powder from the rose note. The pear reminds me of caramelized or cooked fruit rather than fresh.
I cannot wait to get a bigger bottle of this beauty. This is so lovely and a bit demure. I wish it had a bit more oomph but I’ve come to expect clean fragrances to be a bit more modest.
Interestingly, it does seem to have a bit more staying power and projection when I rub it into my skin.

Jjleeeee

This one smells better in the air then up close to your skin
Up close I do smell the cigar and medical vibe but
In the air it’s a very cozy sweet pear vanilla amber bakery type scent

hi_theclaire

I don't get the pear in this but I definitely get the vanilla, caramel, and amber. I don't think this is a safe blind buy, even if you love vanilla, but I blind bought the travel size and I love it. This is one of my go-to perfumes before to sleep. This perfume has a little bit medicinal smell to it which reminds me of my late grandma in a good way though this doesn't smell like a grandma by any means. It's sweet, it's warm, and I just want to hug myself whenever I wear this. My husband is neutral with this perfume, he doesn't love it but he doesn't hate it either, but I'm happy I have this in my collection.

widowcat

Im a vanilla lover so I thought I’d love this. The smell of this fragrance is great. It’s very sweet and kind of smells like a cigar in a good way. I will say this is the only perfume I have ever returned. It just doesn’t last more than 15 minutes on my skin and not even on my clothes. Unfortunate because I fell in love with the scent so much:(

DearAlexabell

Very sharp fresh sweet scent, I think overall it's ok. I can see why many vanilla lovers add it to their collection, I use to collect vanilla's but realized it wasn't really my jam. I'm more of a coffee, cinnamon, chocolate fiend. But none the less, I think would make a good fit in a gourmand or vanilla lover's collection. It's also a reasonable price as well. It's not particularly showstopping for me or unique but I don't mind having this in my collection. It's very youthful and hyper feminine, I see teenagers and girls in their early 20's wearing this, as well as people with very feminine girly, sweet, angelica, soft aesthetics.

Cherri41902.

This smells like a freshly opened pack of newports.

Ceevee963

I can’t stand this perfume. The pear, rose and caramel (ironically I can’t smell any vanilla in here) turns sour and nauseating on my skin. Couldn’t wait to scrub it off.

jlw222

this is not safe as a blind buy. the first 30 min its this weird, secondhand clothes smell.. after that it gets better and its mostly just vanilla.

Noveight

A wonderfully sweet vanilla, with a touch of a medicinal smell. It’s cozy, and sweet, but not TOO sweet. It feels like a sophisticated yet simple vanilla that gives you a headlines that isn’t cloying. I see myself wearing this in the winter with snuggly sweaters and cardigans, or at nighttime when Christmas shopping or visiting friends. Perfect for day and night. Great for winter and fall. The scent is versatile in that it would work in a casual and more formal settings. It’s not fussy or boss-bitch, but it’s also not juvenile or sickly sweet. It’s a grown woman’s vanilla. ❤️

Pixied0ll

I love this scent it’s pretty unique, I can immediately tell when someone is wearing it. I think this can definitely be unisex though it does lean more feminine. I wish it had more staying power though.

Galatina

For me, the opening is the best part. I get apples, pear, tea, vanilla. I agree with the comments that found it to be boozy. It definitely starts with a hit of a spiced liquor flavor. I wish it would stay right there, because that is what sets it apart from so many vanilla fragrances. The fruit and tea aspect doesn’t last long before it’s vanilla. A good vanilla. Not synthetic. It’s quality, but nothing very new, and longevity is just not there. Very much a skin scent. I do love it for the opening, though, and am guilty of reapplying (I have the roller) throughout the day.

Vainillalover

I was expecting a really nice vanilla perfume. is exactly the same to golden sand al rehab, similar to pascal morabito pour Elle, Casa Blanca. Is no similar to vanilla kayali. I like but is not my favourite vanilla perfume.

mewlena

when i sprayed it at first it smelled like beer for some reason?? which was gross but quickly went away and it smelled like pears, rain, and sweet tarts slightly lol. the dry down wasnt as impressive to me which is new but i like it overall :)

herlala

sickeningly sweet, like vanilla extract or black opium's terrible younger sister. i like it.

Wade16

Smells like smoke and whiskey with a borderline sickeningly sweet caramel/vanilla scent. I do not like this scent, but I’ve started wearing it before I sleep just to use it and find it can be oddly comforting. But I’d NEVER wear outside the home

paula5399

It was not love at first smell. It’s very sweet and smoky at first. But the dry down is lovely and comforting. The smoky smell disappears after an hour. I weirdly got used to it and I really like it now.

femmefumes

I'm kinda into this. It's so sweet then there's a foul odor-ish component like cigarettes, bad body odor, dampness, wet mud and leaves from rain. I get no rose and barely any pear. That smell turns into a toasted sweet scent.

roanyoke

I don't regret buying this, but it's not my favorite. The scent stays very close to you, there is not much projection. I only wear this if I know I will be close to someone. It is delicious, but possibly too linear for me. Smells like straight up vanilla to me. There is no added sugary-ness. Maybe the pear makes it feel more natural and fresher. (I have the rollerball for reference)

Lolo79

I may have finally found my favorite perfume! ❤️❤️❤️

Fignace

Beautiful vanilla fragrance. Signature scent worthy.
