i bought this for my dad on accident a couple years ago and it’s the only perfume he doesn’t really wear that i’ve bought for him…. I have now found out that it is a women’s perfume so it all makes sense now.

guess i’ll keep this for myself 😁

Creamy_ambrette

Definitely NOT love at first sniff. I think this one will grow on me however. Off the atomizer it’s reminds me of Pegasus- heavy heliotrope. Once sprayed you’re hit in the face with heavy modern aldehydes- different from N°5 and N°22 which to me are gentle and effervescent. Metallique is dense and soapy, surfactant smell. The pink pepper is is also a major player in the opening slightly floral and astringent.
First impression the opening is my least favorite. After the opening settles I smell a lot of hawthorn, which gives a somewhat doughy or chewy feel to the vanilla and heliotrope in the background. Metallique smells a lot like Kringler’s Abrakaadabra which is an eye watering $800 per 100ml or some insane price close to that. Further into the dry down this becomes more of the fragrance I was hoping for: a cold, milky incense. I need to spend more time with her. We shall see…

Ruger

a very unique vanilla and metalic scent.

armedfragto_

It doesn’t get the recognition it deserves! This is a fresh “cooling” soft airy vanilla fragrance which is sweet but not gourmand. Very alluring yet cozy! The aldehydes with the citrus and pepper is perfect in this and is what gives that “cool metal” feel! Once the opening subsides you’re left with an amazing sweet powdery musky vanilla. It may seem feminine but I think this is very much unisex! With spring coming up here in Canada this is now my daily driver!

I have 50 & 100 ml sealed boxes available, can contact me here or for the fastest response my ig:ArmedFragTO

Im a perfume hobbyist that sells fragrances below discounter pricing whenever feasible. I ship out from Toronto Ontario Canada, within Canada and to the u.s anywhere else just dm me on my ig, where you can see reviews and orders of past buyers :)

Isabella Therese Please try the Emir Metalico perfume. This is a dupe of an Arabic perfume, but it is very beautiful and very similar to TF Metallique😉😉

Isabella Therese

Metallique, my heart is broken due to the fact that you're discontinued... One of my favourite fragrances of all time. It opens with a note that fits the name perfectly. It smells like the inside of a washing machine, like a metal spoon or silver bangles when it's cold outside. Clean and uplifting. The drydown is the most addictive vanilla and ambrette combination I've ever smelled. The vanilla here is not warm or edible, it's not a gourmand by any means. It's the most airy, soft and comforting cloud of vanilla imaginable. If heaven had a scent, it would be Metallique. Why it was discontinued I will never understand. 10/10.

Luvnme08

It took a moment but I adore this scent!

Jesse's Fragrances

I went to Dillards to smell a sample of this, it was sold out surprisingly. It’s okay, it smells like sweet vanilla and strong black pepper for some reason. It does sort of have a metallic note. Kinda agree with NoBrainer22tx on this. I would consider it unisex due to the strong pepper and nutmeg notes, a man could pull it off. One of my least favorite Tom Ford fragrances, besides Ombré Leather.

MissMarco

I don't get why this is underrated. Its such a unique and comforting vanilla. The top notes really make it come off as this citrusy , clean vanilla that gets sweeter . It's the sort of scent you want to smell on bedsheets or when you enter a mall. It never gets sickening or cloying. I get compliments as people draw close to me so it radiates more intimately. I need a backup bottle . Lol 😆 this is a love.

Imvanillababyy

This is one of my most complimented perfumes. I pair this with the Nest Madagascar vanilla rollerball. Metallique is sweet, but not quite gourmand, and you do get slight hints of a “metal” scent in the back end. It smells very clean yet you the vanilla notes are prominent. I’ve been told i smell delicious, and I agree.

Klimsangina

Unique and very bold scent! It's like a garden with flowers and dry grass after the hard rain. A lot of oxygen, musky, floral, earthy, dry herbs. All of them creates this interesting scent. Scent of metal. Bravo!

AleksOud

Very polarizing but I like it. It's incensy and warmed up by fluffy vanilla and it indeed gives the metallic scent.

It's the church incense type, maybe it's the Peru balsam that gives this effect. Good choice for theatre and fine dining in autumn.

Since apparently it's discontinued maybe you can layer/mix in travalo Smoke of Desert by SA with Rouge Smoking by BDK to get a similar scent.

Latetothescene

I agree 100 procent with Chanelnotes. It's my favorite fragrance and favorite vanilla. And I can confirm it's discontinued. 😭 Bought two backups and should have gone with three. I can't imagine living without it but at some point i'm gonna have to. These first impression reviews are bullshit.

Also when i see the reminds me of section i know some of you must be on drugs or never even smelled Metallique. Fecking trolls.

ChanelNotes

Anyone who claims not to smell the vanilla in this might want to test for COVID because Im not sure how thats possible. It starts off slightly metallic with hints of soap (aldehydes) then becomes this vanilla cupcake scent in the drydown. It's lovely, cozy and comforting. Projection is quite good because when I went for my doctor's appt I got compliments on how amazing I smelled. All I needed was one spray to the back and 2 on shoulder blades. Longevity is about 6 hours before it becomes more of a skin scent. This blows Vanilla Sex out the water since that one is straight up almond.

Unfortunately it's being discontinued so those who are looking for this, the price has dropped at many retailers so get on it.

Nobrainer22tx

I haven’t yet found a Tom Ford perfume I like. They’re usually too strong and kinda old lady to me so I guess I’m not surprised that I hate this. I was hopeful due to vanilla being listed as the top accord and I LOVE vanilla. I also like the other accords (I wasn’t sure whether I like aldehydes, balsamic, & musky though, must be one of those that’s offending my nose).

What I’m getting is NOT vanilla, I’m not sure why that’s listed as a top accord. Initially I smelled something horribly offensive. 🤮 spicy sharp… leather? Soap? I couldn’t describe it. I think that’s the metallic thing he was going for perhaps. It’s awful. Where is the vanilla?! Faded to a more kinda soapy scent & maybe a hint of something decent trying to peak out. Once the soapiness thing started fading there it was! A tiny hint of vanilla. Whole thing faded quickly, I tried a spritz of this on one wrist, a different scent on the other wrist, and 2 more in the bends of my arm. Allllll of the others lasted considerably longer than this. After a while I just smelled faint vanilla which was ok. It’s a no for me!

kombarris

To me this smells absolutely horrid. I cannot stand this. Just atrocious. However the rest of my family enjoys it. Must be one of those where you either hate it or love it.

SmellLush

I have this and got it during the early stages of the pandemic. I needed a perfume(s) to help cheer me up. This is very unisex. I love it it's different from anything else I've ever smelled, so def. unique. It's somewhat of a lemony fresh "vanilla" tbh I didn't even realize it was a vanilla until learning that here. I can see where it comes in but to me is a fresh lemon like scent. When I wear this to work my coworkers can tell that it's expensive so it also .. smells expensive. I get compliments on it alot and choose to wear it often. Some of my perfumes go untouched I feel like but this is in the regular rotation.

WhenWhippoorwill

If you love this one, hurry and grab a bottle. Discontinued 😭

Robotnik19

Discontinued due to not actually being a great seller and two new vanilla fragrances are being released in the brand. (One of them is not new but a re-release)

richechka

Nice perfume:)

If you want to have this smell but in a super niche, lavish, luxurious bottle and natural ingredients- go for Krigler AbraKadabra 221. These too are identical , but I personally prefer Krigler for its natural spirit .

Good luck and be inspired 💋

classic-soul4ever

rasteria's review ALONE, sold me this perfume.
I must have it!

Titiana

This is a fresh vanilla. Very soft and alluring at the same time. But, beware, it’s not for high heat. It’s made for fall or spring.
One day I made a mistake and tried it out in warm summer weather, and was almost disappointed, it became flat warm vanilla, no flowers, no aldehydes whatsoever in 10 min after spraying. I thought, thats ok, I still have Kilian Woman in Gold, maybe you don’t need both. But after wearing Metallique in 50’F, I changed my mind. This vanillic freshness carried me through all of my day. Simple and genius! I can’t really smell the metal can in it, only my imagination makes these comparisons. Its a very outgoing and complimentary perfume.

WendyL

This is a cold icy spoon on soft vanilla ice cream. The icy cold metal is cooling and the vanilla ice cream brings warmth.
I like it, its "cooling" not fresh to me, with warm vanilla. I picture wearing this in winter with a soft white cozy sweater and having a warm vanilla milk.

Esna

Supra metallic with a cold vibe; definitely adds a sparkle to you. Clean but not clean girl because this is very very unisex, more like for men, tomboys and femme fatale type. Borderline minimalist sleek; not over powering but still very there. This is like carrying a freshly polished chromatic gun, slightly iridescent and engraved with your name and emoji 👽; like my new house gift.

Nocciola23

This is an unusual scent. I expected it to be more masculine given the name and bottle but actually it's quite sweet and feminine.
I've worn this a few times and I'm still on the fence. The aldehydes and vanilla do give it a very metallic scent to begin with, but the dry down is a cloying vanilla musk that makes me feel a bit nauseous at times.
It's unlike anything I've smelled before, so it was interesting to try.

Cowboy87

Definitely is a feminine fragrance but I would wear this as a man layering it. It's a phenomenal vanilla scent that's different. Smell some florals with the vanilla and musk underneath. The metallic smell is only in the opening. Very high quality and elegant perfume whether on woman or man.

Ground hound

Too much of a powdery nightclub situation going on.
It`s not at all what I expected.
Yes, after the vanilla airs out, the sharp lemony aldehydes plus some aquatic note and pepper create a metal smell, but like....it`s not a wow effect? It`s sort of... "Oh, ok, I guess".....
I`d lower that immense vanilla first of all, to let other notes develop.
I smell almond in it too, and I don`t like almond in perfume most of the time, as it is often a made up nauseating note.
Maybe I do not understand what a cold vanilla is, but here we are again same as with Lira Xerjoff, smelling lemon soap in warm gourmand vanilla. And same with Lira I can see all the notes that I like mixed into something very unpleasant.
That metal note that everyone is on about is ...meh...I get it, but it does not excuse the weird mix.
A strange selection of notes, strange layering, just too weird not in a good way. As if they decided not to take chances and empty their whole lab regardless of categories of the ingredients into this.

Leather&pearls

This is a frosty cool vanilla. Perfect for the summer. There’s slight salty doughy effect in the dry down which I absolutely love! One of the most unique intoxicating vanillas I have.

lamerienda

Aldehydes but not from your grandma’s perfume tray! I am such a fan of this! This is actually very beautiful non boozy vanilla, literally a strong cozy fragrance.

thomthomthom

Fantastic, impressive take or florals and aldehydes. Totallt unisex, love it to wear it as a man. Works nice layered with oud wood too.

cxylin

this is the most comforting fragrance i own. every time i smell it i feel like a warm blanket was just put on me.

Fahrenht

I see what its aiming for but is annoyingly called unisex when its not. Its a very feminine fragrance. I appreciate that Fragrantica still allows such designations in late 2023 and has not yet outlawed gender typing of frags. Its an interesting attempt at something original but ends up smelling like laundry in the dry down. How a fragrance ends is a major thing. Like the end of a story or movie. How did it end up. That is pretty critical and has a summing up power that charactizes the scent. I can wait for a good dry down. I can't do great openings and awful mid-dry down. One thing good about it is that is has the Tom Ford dry dustiness that is in a lot of TF frags. The life of it leans way to far feminine to make it to the unisex category.

CHESTDAYBABY

this is absolutely annoying to smell.

I cannot appreciate the beauty of craftsmanship here.

Paperdress

Not a big fan of the aldehydic and pepper opening but I enjoy the subsequent stages. Things move on fairly quickly to the middle florals (mostly, lily-of-the-valley - I can only barely detect the heliotrope and hawthorn) and then become a generally vanillic, slightly soapy skin scent. If you want a crisp, light, powdery vanilla with a little woodiness but no spice or sweetness this could be your match.

Anamandy

I really think this fragrance would work better for me as a layering fragrance than as a scent on its own. While it is nice, I already have something in my wardrobe that reminds me somewhat of this to a degree. That peppery citrus vanilla opening reminds me of Alien Eau Extraordinaire's opening as it uses the same notes, but I like the note profile following the opening of AE better than the note profile used here. I must admit though, I really love the Hawthorne, and the lightly powdery heliotrope is pretty too. But despite the floral notes this is really all about the powdery vanilla, and to be honest, while it is okay, I really would like a different featured note than that.
Even though aldehydes are listed, they are very lightly done and just add a light airiness to this scent. So, if you have an aversion to that, you need not worry about that here. Personally, for an aldehyde vanilla fragrance, I prefer Dame's Vanilla Farfelue simply because there is a lot more going on and I find it very versatile and wearable any time. Though I haven't tried it yet, I'm not so sure how this would perform in other seasons as it has super low silage now. I fear it might just disappear under certain weather conditions, but I'll just have to wait and see on that front. Metallic? To me, not really, but I always have a hard time finding that accord in any fragrance that claims to have a metallic note anyway.
Right now, I only have a 3ml.rollerball of this which I will use it to layer with other fragrances. I can think of a lot of fragrances in my wardrobe where this might work great in adding a little something special to a scent, but I will not replace with a bottle after this is done. Surprisingly, compared to other scents from this house, it is pretty reasonably price, which I suspect is due to its simple profile.

nonelle

I had a decant of this and I'm glad I tried it, but it's not for me. The name is accurate! For me, it's a weird mix of milky vanilla with metallic vibes. This is very unique. I can't think of anything that smells alike, but I can't imagine myself wearing it. Definitely, I wouldn't do a blind buy on this. Also, most people tend to categorize this to be a winter or fall scent, but I completely disagree. I think the sharp metallic component is too strong in cold weather and that's another reason why this is not for me. We have a long and cold winter where I live and I think I couldn't wear this for the majority of the years.

All in all: Interesting, but too weird for me

Tinabill

If a perfume is to be named according to how it smells for the majority of it stays, this would’ve been called Vanillique. However, Metallique suits the opening and the bottle very much. It indeed opens cold and metallic with the combination of modern aldehyde, citrus and pink pepper, but that is gone in less than 5 minutes from my skin. What I’m left with is an intoxicating vanilla; very warm, smooth, with the right amount of sweetness and balsamic undertones. You can sense some powdery florals and a clean musk with the bergamot lurking in the back most of the time, but vanilla is the protagonist.
I will enjoy my 5 ml decant but won’t invest in a full bottle.

churinl

I purchased a small roll on sample out of curiosity. I had been wearing Jeffrey Dame's Vanilla Farfule and ended up reading one of the Fragrantica articles about vanilla perfumes. This hadn't even been on my radar, as the name gives no indication that this is a powdery vanilla, and a soft one at that!
I don't pick up on anything metallic here at all. Even the aldehydes are soft, not nose stinging. They help create a vanillic, gourmand fragrance that is wispy, though far from weak.
The heliotrope adds the powdery element, and is just enough to give thar impression without it becoming a bomb. When I sniff close to my wrist as it evolves, I can detect a tinge of lily of the valley, and can also detect the aldehydes a bit more, and this is what I believe gives it a metallic tang. But it's so well blended that the scent bubble smells of slightly icy, simultaneously powedery vanilla.
Right now it's very strong like, though I don't see myself purchasing a full bottle. If I purchase another deluxe sample, that will be plenty. It's really an interesting scent, and I am rather impressed with it. Unisex, but leaning feminine, IMO. Moderate sillage and longevity.

Latetothescene

I love Metallique. Today I was working in the garden in high heat and I kept thinking why do I smell pancakes? The vanilla really shines in high heat, lol. I love this fragrance so much. It is the perfect all rounder if you love clean crisp laundry fragrances like Blanche by byredo but with a Gourmand touch. The vanilla in here makes it so addictive and so much better then Blanche. 10/10

Gadise

Carbonated metallic scent.
Easily also described as synthetic. Robotic. Medicinal. Plasticky.
Clean. Airy. Musky. Dry.
Unique, quite probably a love/hate type of reception.
Cozy, skin scent. Though long-lasting.
The bottle is a vanity chic treat.

JakamoFiNaYe

Metallique has everything. It’s airy, frosty, elitist, then warming, seductive, musky, and just sweet enough. I bought it for my wife and she instantly fell in love with it as well. Easily my favorite fragrance on her. Truly hypnotic!

valentina.marini

love the vanilla but there's something dirty (like ashtray dirty) lingering in the background which doesn' t make me go crazy about this.

Arida

Always try to recall who is TF. So, this frag is not womanly at all. The same with Tobacco Vanilla, Ambre leather, and more .

silthrill

Funny I never really gave this a chance because of the name- I thought it would smell sterile and cold. I was at the Tom Ford counter overwhelming my senses as usual and not paying attention at what the Sales Associate sprayed on the blotter and handed to me. When she handed this to me my eyes lit up and I said "omg what is this? is this new?". Wow why have I never tried this one before. Anyways, don't judge a perfume by its cover.

This is a dry vanilla with refined aldehydes, a bit of powdery heliotrope, and the soapiness of lily. It smells mature and serious, but also clean and elegant. To be fair this does smell sterile and cold in a figurative sense - it's the smell of a wealthy, disapproving, mother-in-law. If I had to picture a fragrance on Maryl Streep in the Devil Wears Prada, or Jane Fonda's character in Grace & Frankie, it would be this. I see this on a confident older woman who is well-preserved with a chic, expensive wardrobe. Just fabulous. Office appropriate, a great option for important business meetings.

antolin1

This is all soapy powder, which I loathe – I was expecting some sort of cold metal, so my expectations may have been way off. To be brutally honest, the dry down on my skin smells a lot like baby diapers to my nose (thankfully, clean and unused, but still…). There were many times I was tempted to blind buy this and I am so grateful that I never did. Congrats to those who can pull this off bc the bottle is stunning; the fragrance not so much.

opal_ghost

Reminds me so much of Lolita Lempika, a fragrance I wore for years in my early 20's. But deeper, sweeter. I like it.

eefs

Very much a fresh laundry type of scent to my nose which wasn't what I was expecting/hoping for. Very powdery and the aldehydes aren't too soapy or astringent so I imagine a lot of people would like this, just not my jam. Also the longevity is rubbish which is not a problem I've experienced with any other Tom Ford fragrances.

Filosykos

It smells like a 300 dollar vanilla ice cream sundae.
I was gonna buy Beau de jour but this was awesome on my skin and more modern.
It was in the drawer with the men's fragrances.
I think they are playing around with gender/marketing like they did with black orchid.

Garofita4

I really love this perfume and I wanted to get it . I Dot’n think I will because it does not last to long on my skin. I Dot’n want to pay so much money for something that does not last a lot. I so love the smell.

Jaben4Real

I want to like this but i cant. Overly floral and has an oxy-clean like scent.

AphroditeLeStrange

This smells like Play-doh. I was gifted this perfume and tried it multiple times of the year. I always smell oversweet Play-doh. Maybe it's skin chemistry? It's longevity is great! For people who really like sweet, this is it. I can't do it, though.

Latetothescene

WoW, as a pescotarian, which has fuck all to do with a fragrance review, I really like this. Aldehydes with a vanilla drydown. Nice! 9/10. performance isn't out of this world but the price discounted is juuuust acceptable.

Edit: I'm in love. 10/10 Got a back-up bottle. 😍 PS the aldehydes remind me so much of Blanche by byredo with Starch (dryclean scent) added and the most gorgeous soft non synthetic vanilla added. If i got this earlier in my fragrance journey I would have gotten a signature and my collection would be much much smaller. I really have to hold myself back and give other frags some love too.

rasteria

If it’s metal, then it’s aluminium. Powdery aluminium flower buds filled with cotton candy. The wind is blowing, it’s snowing and the flowers make this metallic sound.

MrMuzz78

Love this, tried this in store amongst many other so called more ‘manly’ TF’s and it stood out to me as a soft, different clean smell. Just had to have some!

As it’s marketed as a ladies event..,If your a guy whom can get away with it, I’d recommend highly!

shushkin

Wow! Not quite what I was expecting. I'm a vegetarian and testing in an eight degree temp room. That might have a bearing on my observations.
A delicious sophisticated gourmand. Lots of yummy vanilla. I was expecting more aldehydes. On the opening I thought of an ice cream soda float. A white cow, which is vanilla ice cream floating on top of ice cream soda. So flipping fattening but luscious.
It remains sweet yummy vanilla and the aldehyde does provide a sort of pseudo metallique effect.
Impressive sillage in a chilly room! I'm not really a vanilla lady but I wouldn't mind this in my collection. It is a rare vanilla gourmand. It has an elegance and sophistication.
I might be tempted.

Vikkinca

Still flabbergasted by the low rating of this incredible fragrance here on Fragrantica. It's one of my favourites, and certainly a scent profile that stands alone. There is no other perfume that smells similar to Metallique.

Because this is one of the most unique and original scents I have ever smelled I've always thought it would be difficult to successfully replicate. Well, I was wrong. Please look for Paris Corner's Emir Metalico. Not only is the delicious scent of Metallique brilliantly cloned, the presentation is the same as the original. In fact, the packaging of the Paris Corner offering is better, more high-end than the Tom Ford.

You are going to have some trouble finding differences between the clone and the original, so for only $20 you can have a $180 fragrance.

Garofita4

I like it a lot but for this price I wished the projection is more and it lasted longer but I love the smell.

sir reeksalot

love the heliotrope in this perfume but who is the nose behind this scent?

Ba2siK

Lovely sweet vanilla scent. I like it.

sunchild50

This is an interesting scent. I think it's aptly named. It's initially cologne-y and masculine-leaning, then develops into something more warm, nutty and feminine-leaning in the dry down. Either of these stages could cause a headache with one too many sprays.

The opening is cold and metallic, along with a burst of lemon. I thought to myself, 'why would one want to smell like a hunk of metal left in the snow?' After about 10 minutes, the lemon fades and the florals start to show. Yet the dominant, tinny smell I couldn't shake was that of PENNIES. It smelled like the pennies that would be at the bottom of your grandma's handbag.

Now, the dry down? When the vanilla starts to take centre stage? Suddenly, I wanted to live in grandma's handbag. It started to grow on me over time and I kept wanting to sniff that almondy, creamy vanilla note that intermingled with the cold metal and florals. It's an odd and unique blend that starts to make more sense in the dry down. I think it works. I wouldn't buy a full-sized bottle, but it's really worth testing and noticing how it progresses. It smells like this celestial, tall, platinum-blonde woman wearing gold. You don't realise she is actually a hyper-realistic AI robot until you touch her skin and notice it is hard, ice cold and would echo loudly should your knuckle hit its surface.

catriiona

Metallique is a powdery, bittersweet fragrance. Its opening is soapy and astringent which I wasn't immediately into. However, it mellows as it dries down and I find it a really fascinating and enjoyable scent overall. The powdery aldehydes complement the sharp, bitter brightness of the pink pepper and bergamot while the vanilla provides depth and balance. The sweet-tinged florals and ambrette come out as it dries down. I enjoy this more on skin than clothes as it brings out the base notes more which are needed to balance the aldehydic notes. This to me is a unisex daytime scent for cooler weather and transitional seasons. Wearing it in the morning, it combined with the smell of freshly ground coffee so perfectly. I won't be buying a full bottle but will be happily using up my sample.

ChanelNotes

This is all about the drydown. The opening is quite shampoo-y and soapy but the dry down is truly amazing. A classy airy vanilla. Not the heavy boozy vanillas we've been getting these days. Lovely!

SmellyCat101

This is a beautiful airy vanilla and unlike any others I have tried or own. I don't get any animalistic notes like others have noted, which I often do pick up on in many other of Tom Ford's fragrances. I am so happy that I decided to try it. I almost didn't because of the name. Love it and my bf does as well. Full bottle worthy for this gal!

enzoespin

I actually really like this. Smells like a very aquatic vanilla, which is something I never thought I'd see. There's a metallic edge to it but it's nothing super off-putting. I really don't know why a lot of people hate this. It's versatile, inoffensive, yet still really unique. Perfect for date nights in the summer. 8/10

liberty111

My most complimented perfume by both genders

rainydays

I was intrigued by the thought of a vanilla was an aggressive freshness, a bit of a mineral edge. This started out like that, but did not dry down well on me. It smells like sweet pennies and there is definitely a foul animalic undertone (which is not a characteristic of any of the notes and might just be my chemistry).

ViouAmara

Is the aldehydes note scaring some of our fellow men?
Such a bright cold soapiness may not be their cup of tea. It’s ok, but for myself, I love this dry icy vanilla, very clever, very fluffy fresh and unusual, at least in this explosive way. Exit the cloying milkshakes, here is at last something different. I’m not Little Red Riding Hood, I’m not edible.
It starts like pealing a sweeter N5 Eau Première version, the metallic orange molecule is aggressively cold. Delicious. Then it quickly turns into a vanilllic soap bar, with a chalky loose powder face addition.
I see the connection with the angelic sensation of the J&M Stairway to Heaven. The dry down is quite similar after a while, but with more heliotrope and tonka bean in Metallique.
Simple and really intelligent.

Tshahb

Pure lemon meringue pie, sort of synthetic and weird, but I have no idea why this is called Métallique.

This and Soleil Blanc are the only Tom Fords I actively dislike.

Imagine you’re using a public restroom, specifically a mens room with stainless steel partitions. The urinal has overflowed, leaving nasty urinal-cake water all over the floor. That’s what TF Metallique smells like. I gagged for the first 15 minutes of spraying this once on my wrist. When it finally dried down to a mildly aldehydic vanilla, I could at least tolerate but this has to be the worst perfume I’ve ever smelled.

Stush

I saw this at Sephora yesterday and had to try it not knowing a thing about it. I absolutely love it. This is a typical TF that I’ve tried and it took me on a journey. Besides loving the fragrance on my skin, I’d love it on a woman. Beautiful fragrance. To me, the Aldehydes made it feel clean and bright in a metallic way. Nice floral spicy opening, then lighter florals, vanilla, a little almond and whiffs of clean musq the rest of the way. I don’t care for modern mens sweet frags, but this “could” be a fragrance I’d wear. A little more on the fem side, but this is the type of sweetness I can tolerate.

missmarinelaporte

Definetly différent but god I hate it

saul charbaji

Am i the only man wearing this 😆

Heavenly Heather

Aldehydes at the top give off a hint of a metallic scent which I enjoy! Dries down to a nice powdery vanilla with smoothness and depth from the sandalwood. Very nice unisex fragrance!

shannfernando

I live for the dry down of this omg!

Opening: Imagine you’re standing in front of a thin glass window and there’s snow falling on the other side of that window. Someone takes a big hammer and shatters the window. The glass completely disintegrates and mixes with the snow and gushes in at you! Metallic, glass, icy and chill!

Mid: You run inside to escape the cold in search of warmth, you jump into a linen closet and lock yourself in. What you smell in there is fluffy warm fresh laundry! Soap bubbles, but the warmest, floral scented laundry-esque soap bubbles. And then it starts to get powdery…

Dry down: You start smelling the most delectable and amazing vanilla butter scent. You realise, someone has been hiding vanilla butter cookies and other gorgeously sticky vanillic treats under a pile of sheets! You dig out the treats and sit in the floor gobbling down the sweets to keep yourself warm and fed. There’s still a shattered glass snow storm just outside your door, but in this closet, you’re safe. You’re warm. You are fed.

This was a cinematic experience for me! And I love it, through and through!

@DT953 - this is not "vile", perhaps it just doesn't work for you :) It is in fact DIVINE.

annaj

The top notes stick around for about 2 minutes. The mid-notes are quite indistinguishable. After about 10 minutes you have the main body of the scent, and this is what it will continue to smell like until it eventually fades 4-5 hours later. For the initial punchiness, I would expect it to stick around longer. It's strange.
There is also a big difference between the initial spray and the dry down. Some people might like this. I also suspect that this might be misleading if you only test it on a card, i think it needs to be testing on the skin to know how it will develop on you. The name does not match the scent. I get no metal vibes. I get soft, cozy, feminine. From the name alone I expected edgy, musky, with a fresh top.
I have to say I am a little disappointed with this one. The top notes are so quick that it becomes a very basic scent, not a well balanced and well mixed interesting blend that I thought it might be.

The dominant notes for me are the musk, vanilla, sandalwood combo. Which to be fair is quite a popular mix. It is a soft and creamy and slightly powdery mix, probably made so by the heliotrope. If you take it for just those dominant notes, then you could say it is done quite well. If this is your bag then you will probably love it. It definitely reminded me of the dry down on Narcisco Rouge EDP.
I don't get the balsam wood, and I don't get much lily. I was surprised to see it in the notes because sometimes it can be quite a dominant floral. This is definitely an autumn or winter scent.

Coming back to this again because I love this scent and have more thoughts as the weather grows colder and I wear it more often. It's perfect to spray on a coat collar or scarf. That cool, dry vanilla aspect is what I love most about Metallique, and it's a nice respite when my smoky, spicy, sweet perfumes feel overwhelming. On my wife, I noticed that it takes on this milky, milkshake sort of quality that I really enjoy though I wouldn't consider this a gourmand by any means. I'm still working through my bottle fairly slowly. It doesn't need more than one or two sprays and the longevity is so good that I think anything more would be overpowering. I know this because other people have mentioned being able to smell it on me even 5 or 6 hours after application (most perfumes these days are skin scents long before then), and I can still smell it on my wife after a full workday. It lasts the longest on clothes. If I spray Metallique on a jacket, I have to wash it again before that smell will leave. Very good performance, as I'd expect at this price point. Unfortunately this means I tend to go noseblind to it within an hour or two... but a win is a win.

Karoleir

This would be my signature scent but there is just some note that makes me sick for the first few hours before it becomes tolerable and then it’s amazing. I really want too love it but I can’t!

VickusDickusTheFourth

I don't ever write bad reviews because everyone tries their best and releases stuff they truly love or believe will do good. Im not gunna say good or bad but I will let you infer your own thoughts in case someone decides they wanna blind buy something (this is not a safe blind buy).

It smells like going into a mall bathroom that has just been disinfected with some really powerful nasty cleaning agents and sprayed with ultra ultra synthetic lemon cleaner. All of the scents in the profile really really arent there with the exception of aldehydes and a blast of very strange smelling citrus. The opening is very confusing on this one for me, I guess my nose brain was taking a moment to process the scent. For some weird reason the first like 30 seconds really didn't smell terrible but the second I walked out of Macy's and smelled my hand again I was like "what the heck is this". I was convinced I touched something on the way out the store but I had my phone in that hand so that definitely wasn't the case.

I dont even know what weather this is good for, which occasion, which gender this is geared towards, what a good discount price would be for it, which anything. Maybe this is a scent to wear if a janitor and cleaning lady go out on a date and plan to spend the entire time talking about work and if it was available at the dollar store?

I have Armaf Club De Nuit Intense Man so im not exactly an enemy of lemon pledge scents I guess but this was something completely different. That being said, Tom Ford really has some undeniable bangers and they're all worth checking out, but nobody can shoot with 100% accuracy and precision forever. Make sure you 100% try this before you buy it.

frusia

I would love to love it. I love the opening, there is something metallic indeed, and also something bright about it - like sudden sun rays on a shiny metal surface on a cool morning.

But on my skin one note from Soleil Blanc which I didn't like, becomes prominent. It's reminiscent of a vanilla milkshake which has just started going sour, it makes me think of baby pukes 😐 And I can also smell something like salty unbaked pastry - very interesting but difficult for me note I also found in Bulgari Aqua Divina and Alien Goddess.

I think it's worth trying though, my skin tends to over emphasise sweet and sour notes - but if you have a different skin chemistry, you might be lucky with this one.

ggartel

Métallique offers a chilly, powdered vanilla perfect for the in-between weather of spring and fall. It holds no warmth or coziness, but it doesn’t share the coppery/blood-like aspect of fragrances with listed metal notes. It is a cool, medicinal vanilla and I really, really enjoy it. It’s complex without being challenging to wear; it has an almost mysterious character that I find extremely enjoyable. Definitely not for everyone, but everyone should get their nose on it! Femme-leaning unisex in my opinion. Decent (middling) longevity and sillage - I honestly would not want this to be stronger as it could likely become cloying.

AisLilly

In certain circumstances, the pink pepper in the opening of this is a wee bit too much for the first 15 minutes, but once it moves on to the “sheets washed with vanilla laundry powder” stage, it is the most comforting scent I own. Delicious vanilla without being full on gourmand, and with a soapy, aldehyde cleanliness that evokes the sweetest of sleep-ins in white luxury hotel linen. I get at least 2 hours of sillage before another 4-5 hours of skin scent. I wear this often as a bed time scent. Love!

minizelda

smells spiky

kvrsha

This is one of THE MOST BEAUTIFUL scents I have ever sampled. Sadly, it only lasted maybe 45 minutes on my skin.

I am really, REALLY sick of this trend with fragrances. Nobody wants to pay 200 dollars for a perfume with the lasting power of a body mist.

Absolutely gorgeous scent, but don't waste your money.

IanaM

not impressed, it’s very pleasant, such tasty vanilla flowers, beautifully imprinted on the skin, which smells lovely, I would like a body cream or soap, but I want a more interesting perfume, fans of Soleil Blanc will like it, almost the same, but without coconut

livelovelaugh0810

first sniff i thought this sucks. then it grew on me.
it's a very soft, comforting vanilla. reminds me of the orange chocolate holiday limited edition body care line from yves rocher.

but someone in the reviews said that this is like. a vanilla laundry detergent. i agree.
it's very comforting, airy aldehydic scent with a very soft, sweet and comforting vanilla.
it's also kind of what i imagined lazy sunday morning by maison margiella to smell like, but this is slightly too strong to be that and too warm to smell like crisp white bed sheets. like it doesn't have that cool airiness.
it's cozy, warm type of airiness with warm inviting vanilla.

will i get sick of it/nauseated if worn in wrong circumstance or too often?
absolutely. but will it be an amazing treat to wear occasionally? yes.

not sure if it's full bottle worthy, only because of the price tag, but for tom ford it's not too expensive compared to the rest idk why don't come for me, but it's worth trying out!

TeaEnthusiast

Opens with a metallic, aldehydic hit. During the next few minutes they settle down a bit into clean, powdery smell, like freshly washed laundry. Gradually the vanilla becomes more pronounced, but everything is very very smooth. I bake a lot and use different kinds of vanilla, the smell of this one is synthetic and "cold" if that makes sense, it doesn't smell like the mouthwatering gourmand vanilla that would be used in baking. Something I dislike is a note that smells exactly like pencil shavings that doesn't go away until 2 hours after spraying. The combination of all these notes makes me a little nauseous. It does not project much and longevity is not good, it would be a 4/10 overall for me.

mrowry

I wear this when I need to channel Dolores Abernathy from Westworld. She has the face of a sweet, dainty, vanilla prairie girl, but she will f you up, because she is actually a killer robot made of cold hard steel.

Catmo

I love this. I had to grow to love it though- was not love at first sniff. Put simply it’s vanilla laundry detergent. BUT in the best way possible. It’s cozy and comforting but also clean feeling. Amazing.

Samanthabdel

I stopped into Sephora today to sniff around and decided to pick this up just because it was one of the few that I haven’t tried yet… I got zero metal. This is vanillic and soft in the dry down. Zesty and fresh in the opening… Definitely buying a bottle. I highly suggest that you sample this fragrance and don’t go off of the reviews on fragrantica. This one showed me that reviews mean nothing, only trust your nose folks!

betsyglez8

I get a really soapy scent like the ZEST soaps if anyone
Remembers that kind of soap smell . This is like that .

scensitive

After an initial smell from a vial, only getting neon heliotrope.

Then the roller ball oil was released and way to intimate for active lifestyle.

Summer fun rolls around and this seems like a good tanning oil topper for the lounges, lunch, and late afternoons with a sweet slice of life.

So, probably the reason the roller balls are popular is because the water, fresh metallic scent sits closer to the skin.

Sillage with spray is an heliotrope and white chocolate biscuit. Gorgeous.

AMMILLER

I sprayed this on my arms at Sephora 3 hours ago. I have since showered and I can still smell it as though I just sprayed it.

It smells good, like vanilla and a bit "metallic" in a salty sort of way, but not $211 good lol. I was surprised to see lavender not listed here in the notes, it has a lavender-dryer sheet, clean, crisp and cool dry down. Like very clean laundry. I absolutely loved the smell. I'm loving the longevity. I keep getting whiffs of it and it's so good. Very unisex too. If you want to smell like salty, unsweetvanilla, lavendery clean laundry AND you have $211; this is your one.

EmpressVision

This is the most interesting vanilla frag I own. I can actual smell metal on the opening and I love it!!! It smells similar to my sterling silver bangles. Smooth, powdery (in a good way--not old church lady) & creamy when it dries down. The vanilla becomes pronounced, it's sweet but grown-up. I think it's because of the musk mallow. If you're a collector, I think this is a worthy addition. I had doubts about anything metal at first but I'm happy to have it now.

kobylnice

It is not a pleasant opening in this bottle, mix of vanilla and sharp soapy laundry scent. Not to mi liking at all and last for a good while. After an hour or so it dries to a creamy vanilla, touch woody - nice scent but still carries a bit of aldehydes. I couldn't smell any of the Lily-of-the-Valley notes. I will pass on this one.

Kaylovely

This is a phenomenal dupe for Vanilla Barka. I havent tried Krigler 221 but the notes are exactly the same. They claim 221 is better so we will see. IMO Vanilla Barka is slightly better. I see a comment about Hawthorn. This may be what's giving a incense Olibanum vibe. Nice no--bservation.

almondluver1

This is a super unique vanilla perfume! Prior to smelling it, I was initially worried about the aldehyde note (anytime I see aldehydes, I think of Chanel No. 5, which is way too mature for my taste 😅) but the aldehyde in here is surprisingly pleasant and not too mature. To me, this perfume smells like a super sweet & powdery aldehydic cloud of vanillic candy floss and sugar. There’s some woodiness (sandalwood) and ambrette as well but mainly I get powdery aldehydic vanilla. If it weren’t as sweet & candy-like as it is, it prob wouldn’t have worked for me but this is an instant love at first sniff ❤️. I appreciate the uniqueness of this vanilla fragrance!

I own the Dossier version of this (Powdery Hawthorn) and it smells almost exactly like the real thing & has great performance, enough for me to be satisfied without having to shell out $$$ for Metallique. So if you’re on a budget or want to try out the scent without spending too much, Dossier is a good place to start!

scatteredshowers

It really is unfortunate how expensive this brand is, because I think I'd like to be buried with this perfume.
That loud, wild opening note is what gets me the most, I love the spicy blast of freshness. It only lasts about five or ten minutes, so you have to savor it while it lasts. It softens down quickly to an airy, mellow vanilla that isn't sticky or overwhelming, just sweet, subtle, and refreshing. The spice and sandalwood adds a richness that saves it from becoming too cold, and the total effect is like being wrapped in cool white fur. Normally I find lily of the valley overwhelming, but in this perfume the floral notes are there to bolster the vanilla and mingle with it, rather than to stand on their own. At the end of its life (about five or six hours after application), it becomes a comforting skin scent, a white musk to accompany you to bed after a long evening.
I relish the chance to love a perfume that's so picky about whose skin chemistry it accepts. I don't normally gush to this degree, but I really enjoy this one, so much it annoys me given its price point. I look forward to much ebay-trawling in my future.

bb101011

I (male, 31) just sampled this Nordstrom. This is a super sexy and feminine fragrance. This is what I would want my date to smell like.

Edemay

An amazing aldehyde bomb
you dont smell the vanilla on its own, everything else just supports the aldehyde note, sweetens it, makes it a little more comforting

I think people are being dramatic about it smelling like actual metal or spoons lol
This smells more like washing powder or softener
This is what I wanted D&G (red cap) to smell like!!
Id probably wear this on days when I just want to smell clean and comfortable

curlykitty8

I love anything with that cool metallic note so today I tried this Tom Ford concoction imagining something steely beautiful.
Not so!
A nauseatingly sweet and weird fragrance that not only smelled like a harsh vanilla fabric softener but a touch of playdoh to boot!
Had I known Metallique was laden with vanilla AND heliotrope I would have steered clear and headed for CVS and some Britney Spears for something unpretentiously over the top gourmand!

Ana81

I like it. I was really intrigued by it and ordered a sample. It does smell like vanilla laundry detergent with a harmonious cold metallique note, brings to mind folded clean towels in a cold laundry mat. Even though I think this is nice and don't have another scent that smells quite like it, it's not that special to me to pay the price tag, even if it was way cheaper, I would probably pass on it. I did get compliments wearing it but I am still not moved to purchase a FB. It's just a nice clean vanilla scent and it does smell a lot like vanilla lavender fabric softener come to think about it.

anastasia.privalova

Metallique is an aldehyde-vanilla fragrance with a coumarin underside. Almonds are frozen into stones and then ground in a blender into a light golden flour, mixed with lime zest, flower pollen, and almond milk. This perfume reminds me of a colorless autumn sky: dove gray, cold, and empty, which is cut through by the sun's rays for a moment. And this has its own beauty, melancholy and fragile.

Trishaaa

This is definitely an interesting one. I didn't even think "metallic" could have a smell to it but for me it actually kind of makes sense here. I don't know if anybody remembers those cuddly sachets? pouches sort of? with laundry detergent in it but it's kind of like those to me weirdly enough. I don't mind the scent but I don't think I'm brave enough to pull it off. Not for everybody sadly

Mjchaelj

I know Tom Ford Fragrance’s are daring but wow. To me it smells so weird, like a vanilla ice cream with jalapeños and rusty metal. I don’t know why anyone would want to smell like this. It’s just off putting to me.

4/10

Veronjn111

HMMM... Where to start with this? The opening is spicy, like I'm sniffing a bowl of chopped jalapenos (most likely from the Pink Pepper accord), as well as a very sharp note I can't distinguish. After about three minutes it starts to get more sweet. It just smells like a very synthetic soapy vanilla scent. I'm just getting vanilla, a hint of floral, and soap, so much soap. And the smell is essentially non existent unless you stick your nose right in it. Definitely not a huge fan, and for the price? Absolutely not.

Terrence loves you

I don’t get it !!! Why would someone want to smell like this !??

Jcee

“metallique” is fitting. smells like metal. not vanilla as others describe. that automatically makes it masculine in my opinion cause why would a woman wanna smell like metal?.. maybe a man might like to wear an industrial kinda scent

Majestic_Toad

The opening in this is really sharp. To me it smells exactly like being in the scorching sun, quite an unusual sensation and one I am not too keen on. However, it only lasts a few minutes, and then it turns into the most beautiful creamy vanilla mixed with some gentle florals. I was ready to write this one off after the initial spray, but now I want to bathe in it. It is a shame that the longevity is mediocre.

Tunzz

Clean, soft, airy, detergent, vanilla. Imagine spilling vanilla ice cream on fresh laundry. Love love love. You don’t smell it on yourself after a while, but trust me, everyone else does. This fills up a room when you walk in. You take your clothes off at the end of the day and you’re like “wow this smells so good”. Nothing else smells like this. This is one perfume I don’t feel the need to layer. It’s perfect alone.

menmen

Oh man! I was so surprised by this. Gentle, airy vanilla scent. Close to the skin, your skin but better kind of scent. It's honestly wonderful.

ILikeSmellingNice

Smells like Dior Hypnotic Poison.

OgNothing

I really enjoy the fragrance though it disappears on me after less than an hour. For the price you would expect more. I have gotten compliments directly after applying, and it's been described to be very gourmand.

Unruly Julie

I am so disappointed in this perfume. It just doesn't seem to last on me. Not like a typical Tom Ford scent at all.
BIG EDIT 04/09/22:
I am now in love with this scent! On me, it is meant to be sprayed lavishly everywhere all over my body so I can exist in it's extraordinary complexity! I can't help but take big sniffs down my shirt all day to sample the bright, metallic, soft floral, vanilla scent. My new everywhere, everyday fragrance!
ADDITIONAL EDIT 05/10/22: Now that 100°F weather has hit west Texas (it's too early, even for here 🥵), this is lasting over 12 hours on my skin. I like to sleep in it because it feels very comforting to me. I absolutely adore Metallique!!!

mrshnchnkm

It smells like vanilla-scented laundry detergent. I like it tho.

erika.isme.98

I like this! Some might consider it to be a screechy clean floral vanilla but I think it works.

Swashbuckler9x

I'm surprised nobody has mentioned the phantoming yet undeniable resemblance to Parfums De Marly Pegasus: but imagine a cherry vibe in there somewhere - not a cherry note, no, a cherry vibe.

It smells a bit like Guerlain L'homme Ideal EDP made more 'NiChE' and slightly feminine Pegasus. Men can still wear this, but it's more feminine.

anettelove

Metallique by Tom Ford unfolds as an olfactory journey that pays a nostalgic homage to Tosca by 4711 Muelhens, reminiscent of a cherished memory in high concentration. This fragrance, with its aldehydes, pink pepper, and bergamot at the top, captures the essence of familiarity while adding a touch of modernity.

The opening notes of Metallique spark a reminiscent journey, evoking the timeless allure of Tosca. The aldehydes dance with pink pepper and bergamot, creating an intriguing blend that harks back to the classic Tosca, creating an immediate sense of love and connection.

As the fragrance evolves, the heart notes of heliotrope, hawthorn, and lily-of-the-valley delicately unfold, weaving a floral tapestry that further deepens the connection to Tosca. It's a nod to the past, embracing the beauty of familiarity while introducing subtle nuances that echo Tom Ford's contemporary elegance.

The base notes of vanilla, ambrette (musk mallow), Peru balsam, and sandalwood add a warm and sensual depth to Metallique. Here, the fragrance diverges from the traditional Tosca, infusing a modern twist that embodies Tom Ford's signature sophistication.

While the resemblance to Tosca is undeniable, Metallique emerges as a unique and captivating fragrance that stands on its own. The homage to the classics is evident, yet Tom Ford manages to infuse it with a distinctive character that captivates and entices.

In the world of fragrance, innovation is key, and your sentiment about Tom Ford venturing into new, original territories is well-noted. Metallique, with its charming nods to the classics, prompts a desire for Tom Ford to explore uncharted olfactory landscapes, leaving us eager to see what groundbreaking scents the future holds from this iconic brand.

Lauramm

I still can’t decide if I like it. I don’t get as much vanilla… for me it’s just a clean fragance, it’s my favorite clean smell ATM because I hate soapy and I don’t get soap hear just clean. But I don’t love to wear this kind of scents.

EDIT: Now it's around 20ºC and I've tried it again. With some temperature on my skin the vanilla comes out more and I like it much more. At the opening it smells like freshly washed clothes, the drydown (my favorite part) is sweeter and creamier. The only drawback would be that it stays very close to the skin, very nice skinscent for spring/summer.

Cynthia30

Metallique is one of those silver scents that are ever popular as cheapie scents for men that you can find at chemists and discount warehouses. But upgraded. And with a feminine twist.

Initial spray: very sweet and goumand. The citrus makes it light and sparkly and reminiscent of Jacques Bogart silver scent pure. The citrus and metal notes sit close to the skin. There is a slight suede type musk note that I usually hate, but it's tolerable in metallique.

It's heading towards the end of a wedding at a hotel and you're getting sweaty. You go into a fancy clean toilet to repowder yourself. As you come out of the toilet, you notice this hotel doesn't host just weddings, but caters more to corporate events. Anyway, you decide to head back to the dance floor. You press the metal button on the elevator in the shiny foyer and wait. The foyer is cold and the AC is refreshing. You wonder if you'll get a hangover. Better rehydrate yourself... The free alcohol has run out and there's just Sprite left.

On me, quite strong with medium projection. Lasts 4 or 5hrs

catix

I remember smelling this straight from the bottle in Sephora shortly after it was launched. they were out of paper blotter and I was scared of putting it on my skin based on the notes, the wrong perfume can really ruin my day.

it intrigued me enough to later buy the roll-on version though and I'm so glad I did! I could wear this every day. it's so clean and crisp and fresh! plus there's a undeniable "strong, independent woman" vibe yet the woman is a lady, nothing loud, no bad taste or unnecessary drama. there's sometihng about her even when she's going grocery shopping on Saturday, wearing a white t-shirt and jeans. long story short, confidence in a bottle and office appropriate as a bonus :)

LinnieR

The vanilla and aldehydic is an amazing combination! Sensual and intoxicating. It's fiery and sweet but I don't get metal, I get icy even if it's a "warm scent". I don't know how to describe it better than a crystal, or maybe a smoky quartz?

MichelleAntonia

The metal note in this is very unassuming and inoffensive, almost like it doesn't want you to know it's a metal. That surprised me, but I think that's a good thing because there's little else (besides the dreaded "salty" note) that I dislike more in a perfume. It's fresh and cool smelling, like the air in a place that's cold but not cold enough to snow heavily, like foggy Northern California.

With that being said, the smokey, fiery vanilla that mixes with that cool scent at the beginning fades extremely quickly, and that warm/cool mix is no more. Any complexity is gone. And within a few hours, it's so subtle and nearly pedestrian, like the strength and smell of a body wash, that I don't believe it warrants its place among prestige perfumes. It just doesn't live up to the standard.

MarieMansaRates

Yellow Mr.Clean household cleaner, + steel pipe, + cotton candy.

Unique, Modern, avant-garde even. Feminine to Unisex.

It’s a certain person, attire, occasion type of scent. This is Uma Thurman in Kill Bill. Latex, Leather, brass knuckles, motorcycle. It is sexy, in a cold, devilish, harsh, blunt way. All sharp edges dipped in crushed in sugary yet very bland lollipops. This fragrance starts fights and finishes them. Very female MMA fighter before her fight and after the win addressing the press in a tailored biz casual pantsuit with her in a hair slicked back bob or in a tight low bun.

With that being said, it’s not MY vibe, but it’s definitely someone’s signature scent.

Too sharp, aggressive, and ahead of its time for me.

AlaskanAngel

I love unconventional vanilla scents. I also love metal notes. My problem with this is that on my skin, Metallique is just too damn sweet. I was hoping it would be a sweet-fresh fragrance like DELIRIA. The notes here have so much potential but they are completely overwhelmed by the powerful sweetness. I kept trying to wear it and then would have to spray something over the top just to keep from scrubbing it off. I realized that it makes me think of clean linen dryer sheets soaked in vanilla syrup. So, I'm passing on this bottle to someone who has a higher tolerance to sweets.

frederickf_

One of the sexiest fragrances ever. Picked it up during a two hour layover not knowing that it’s for women, and loved it. Now, women can do a lot of things better than men imo. This would be without a doubt a lot sexier on a woman. I personally have never smelled it on a bae, but already know it would kill me to. However, there’s a unisex vibe.
I tend to not read comments that are as long as an epilogue. So if someone mentioned that I missed it for sure. Wearing a perfume for women has a brother feeling some type of way. But I’m considering rocking this.
It is that good.

SailorV

I don't like metallic scents, but I love many of Tom Ford's mainstream releases, love vanillic and sweet scents, and am always interested in modern compositions with aldehydes. So I really wanted to try Metallique anyways.

Thankfully it's not metallic or blood-like to my nose, but I'm still not a fan. The opening is full of aldehydes that smell soapy, bubbly and fresh. They don't come across too retro, I think they're actually nicely done. They're just clashing with the rest of the scent. I find this so sweet, it's sickly. Now I don't have a problem with sweetness at all, but there is something about this that makes me think of sticky, cloying marshmallow scented products from the drugstore and makes me feel slightly queasy. I can't say if it's coming from the vanilla, heliotrope or hawthorne, all sweet notes I usually enjoy. But it definitely makes for a weird mixture together with those very clean aldehydes.
After the scent has dried down for a while, it's getting a bit better. I can smell a hint of pink pepper which tames some, but not all of the sweetness. It stays more aldehydic on a paper blotter than on my skin, so the clash of notes isn't as apparent on me in the drydown.

The opening and mid phase are original, but don't work at all in my opinion. The drydown is fine enough, but just a rather forgettable powdery-sweet vanilla. I'll pass on this, Tom Ford can do better.

strongerwithglue

Metallique shows its full beauty when you sniff it up close, the aldehydes and such really come through. Unfortunately, in the air, it just smells like cotton candy. A sticky sweet vanilla. Not a worthwhile purchase, especially at TF prices.

ASW321

I bought this fragrance because in an earlier review someone said it reminded them of my all time favourite fragrance, Giorgio Armani's Sensi, which has long been discontinued.
And I can smell similar notes, I can smell the likeness: but it's not the same.

I still really like it. I'm struggling to get the metallic note - it seems too cozy for that, but it's sweet and warm and enjoyable to wear. It's like being wrapped up in a thick blanket of a delicious cloud of fragrance. Sensi did the same for me, but had a sharp and suprising undertone one as well, which cut into the sweetness, giving it balance and interest.

I'll wear this, and wear it a lot - and if you're looking for a Sensi replacement, I think you'll enjoy this too. Just don't expect it to be a Sensi smellalike!

It was a carte blanche for the both of us when I decided to test it. I just saw the bottle and my mind went to all the Platinum Egoiste alikes hence the "metallique". I was so wrong. Instead I was given a blow of something sweet which smelled crazily familiar. Soon I figured out that on my wrist I am wearing some sort of ELdO Divin Enfant doppelganger!!! I am utterly surprised that people here don't point this resemblance out. Divin Enfant seems richer and more complex (thanks to a touch of tobacco and leather) whereas Metallique just smells more cozy and accessible. Both are very interesting and sexy. And I figured that the "marshmallow" note of Divin Enfant might be just in fact heliotrope with vanilla. Overall Metallique gives a good performance and is surely a fine choice for cooler seasons. To me, however, it seems too much of a play with my beloved Divin Enfant to even take it seriously. It also makes me wonder how many more undiscovered siblings like this there are, brothers and sisters from parallel universes that due to the marketing and targeting have never (been) met...

DellyPelkey76

A classy fragrance with the vanilla accords as core along with aldehydic, powdery, fresh, floral, woody, musky, balsamic, amber and sweet notes. Opening notes in this beautiful scent are boozy aldehydic and somewhat spicy pink pepper along with bergamot. Heart of the scent is made up of lily of the valley, hawthorn and heliotrope while the base is all musk, sandalwood, peru balsam and lots and lots of vanilla. The performance is moderate for this one with the moderate silage and moderate longevity. To me, this scent felt more like a unisex one compared to what it states as a feminine scent. Considering the notes and performance, I felt it to be a bit overpriced. This one suit well in all kind of weather. The woody, musky and amber notes make it fit for winters while the fresh and floral notes make it worth wearing in summer and spring. The vibes from this one is boozy, uplifting, sexy and fresh as well. To me, this is a comforting scent to which I am addicted and need regularly in night. May sound weird but I wear it every night before going to bed. I love this and recommend to at least try it. I am sure, you will be adding it to shelf once tried and tested.

tumiknows

I bought this for my girlfriend. I really dig this fragrance!

SophiaG

At first sniff, it's fine - inedible vanilla and aldehydes are really the only thing I get, and it's not bad. But when I let it sit, there was a nagging feeling that I had smelled it before somewhere and couldn't put my finger on it. And I'm so sorry to say that to me, it smells exactly like the blue sanitary solution they use in Porta-Johns - I don't know who could pull this off, but it is certainly not a fragrance I'm going to be picking up. Hopefully it's just my skin chemistry, and not something everyone deals with, but Tom Ford in general is a house I have difficulty with, so I might just attribute it to different tastes.

Tigi

It's very different from what I expected but that's not necessarily a bad thing, either. I love the rich balsams here, it really serves to add depth, roundness, and a dark uplifting quality to the aldehydes and vanilla. The soft powdery florals make this one, cool and unique.

forkingpaths

Like taking a blowtorch to cotton candy. This pushes sugar to lengths even I can respect. Am I paying for it? No.

adelaidesandrina

Why does this smell like Lush Pansy 😭😭

Snick04

Loreal used to have a styling line called Ever Style (2010) in purple bottles that smelled just like this.
Think of a blonde woman wearing Vanilla Fields perfume,
smoking a sweet menthol cigarette outside on a bitter cold snowy Denver night. Thats this fragrance.

LSAUG

I guess I expected more considering the price. Sampled this in Sephora today while running errands. Took the scent strip w/ me and have it w/ me right now. The florals in this smell quite citrusy. The vanilla is a very playdoh vanilla, the aldehydes aren't as sparkling and bright or shall I say as metallic as I thought they would be. This is rather bland and boring citrusy/floral/vanilla w/ a bit of aldehydes. Not impressed and for the prices the Tom Ford brand gets I should be very, very impressed. For these prices I could have some much better smelling all naturals from Abel, Providence Perfume Company or Gather Perfumes.

cocofluff

- Vanilla scented clean mineral musk. I smell nondescript florals too, LOTV most distinctively. LOTV is a note I'm starting to like these days. One of the more interesting modern fragrances.

Kaylovely

Smells like custard based banana pudding, love it. I'm guessing its the honey nuance from the hawthorn.

foxy_minxy

This is a weirdly boring perfume. It's sweet, powdery sweet rather than creamy sweet. Yes, there is a metal, cold iron like element in there too. But it's sweet powder above all else. I don't get the aldehydes, this is not at all similar to Stairway (Jul et Mad). I'm not really sure what this perfume is trying to tell me. Alas, another TF perfume that's not for me.

Vikkinca

This is one of the most beautiful fragrances I have ever smelled. It is stunning - one of my favourites. I absolutely love Metallique💖 It reminds me of a chocolate I enjoy indulging in called Crunchie (not sure if you get this where you are in the world, but it's quite popular here in South Africa). A chocolate bar with a honeycomb centre. Delicious🤤

For me Metallique is unisex so, fellas, if you're into gourmand, vanilla-forward fragrances give this a try. I am definitely getting a second bottle of this Tom Ford masterpiece⭐ I'm catching whiffs all day and swooning😊

treyabbott

@amandawilliamspalmer nailed it for me. When I smell this I get instant flashbacks of childhood birthday parties at Chuck E. Cheese. To me this smells like warm, steaming pizza crusts, with cotton candy and ice cream being served up nearby. Pleasantly surprised that I don't get any blood/iron notes--just some faint aldehydes at the beginning. I find myself reaching for this quite often.

Atomikbomb_

Upon first smelling this I was underwhelmed. The opening is pleasant, but not as sharply aldehydlic as I anticipated it would be, or as many reviews suggested. I'm finding that I do enjoy some aldehydes though, and it's been an interesting epiphany for me in my fragrance journey! I actually would like a little more here.

However, as this dried on my skin and melded into my chemistry today, something magical happened! I was doing some chores and driving to and fro today, and whenever I doubled back I was snagged up by a truly beautiful, chilly, vanillic ice cream scent trail. The thing is though, it's not just ice cream, it's an electric mixer smell as well, and almond, and clean air, and brisk. There is only enough of a resinous quality (I would've guessed a drop of benzoin personally, but Peru balsam is similar) to create a slightly richer base.

I got in my car, the interior was gently warm from the early autumn sun, and as I drove off I was bathed in delicious fragrance. I don't believe this is a major projector, but it does bubble around delightfully. It's not beastly, and it's surprisingly gentle for a TF. For whatever reason this feels like a spring fragrance. Optimistic, sweet and positive, with some character.

I'm pleased that I don't smell any unpleasant notes, and this is only strange enough to be evocative. The price is still annoying, per the norm with this brand. But I'm surprised at how much I actually love this, and how well it does on me.

Once again, another weird, polarizing gourmand that I happen to love 😅 🍦

amandawilliamspalmer

Pizza crust. When you walk past a restaurant making wood fired pizza. It smells good. Like the street outside a wood fired pizza joint.

Perfumatrix

Okay: I have been a serious perfume collector for many years. Hundreds of bottles. Hundreds of samples and decants. Metallique is in my all-time top 10-20 perfumes. It is vanillic, yes, but somehow icy, like glass or crystal. Yes, hints of iron-rich blood. The smell of raw metal, above all. My father owns a machining (tool and die) company, and when he came home from work when I was a child, his shirts smelled of machine oil and he had metal shavings embedded in the soles of his dress shoes from walking the factory floors. An oddly comforting scent to me. Anyone who knows the aroma of an old car engine, a shed full of tools, or a freshly-oiled gun knows the smell I mean. In sum, we have Metal, blood, and vanilla (and traces of dewy green from the hawthorn and LOTV).

This is not cozy, this is not a dessert, this is not candy for the kiddies. It's not precisely an aldehyde, it's not exactly green, it's not really gourmand. It's NOT powdery, unless you mean powdered glass. It is sweet ice, machine blood, a synthetic flower. It's the coins you were told not to lick when you were a little kid, but you did. It's a crystal-clear clean window showing a disquietingly foggy dawn light. There are traces of new-car smell, but it's not a leather. It smells glittery-cold yet warm, like a handful of antique diamond engagement rings. Uncle Serge's quirky Dent de Lait comes semi-close with that blood-metal, pulled-tooth twinge; it also has traces of a vintage Calandre or Chanel Cristalle. But it's not.

For 9 out of 10 people, Metallique is puzzling, forgettable, strange, cuddly, nasty, "not what I wanted." For 1 out of 10, it is mindblowing. Tom Ford, my hat is off. Cheers, Friends.

kcoughlin

Smells like vanilla and Sprite :(

MargotHarow

Was obsessed with this after many paper samplings. Luckily I tried it on skin before buying. I just remember it was horrible and I had to wash it off. Was bummed cause on paper I remember it was the most amazing metallic but also sugar cotton candy unique mesmerizing scent. Ill prob try it on skin again. Glad i didnt buy it. Good reminder to always try a fragrance on skin before buying.

Hansolo

Vanilla + Powder + Aldehydes. Not one of his best.

STOICFISH

Yes to the person that compared this to Si Fiori. Si is a bit more floral and dosen't have the metallic opening but 92% similar on drydown ...on me.

Irinka. K

Smells like blood, sweet blood.

Zaitermo

That is less of a metal and more of a baby powder like fragrance. Not one of my favorites of Tom Ford for sure. If you like powdery like perfumes, give a try on a tester first because I believe it is way overpriced for its range.

Juma

It’s a completely different perfume than I expected. Thanks to kind Frag. member N. who sent me a sample to prevent me blind purchase.

The name Metallique is misleading at least, as what I smell on my skin is soft powdery heliotrope vanilla with no freshness of aldehydes, no sharp edges just velvet. I envy to those who get metallic notes. Sweet but not overly sweet.

I wouldn't mark it as unisex, to me it's totally feminine fragrance.
Longevity is above average and has an enormous sillage.

Lucille29

Wow this is amazing. My favourite perfume I’ve bought in months!! Whyyyy didn’t I get the 100ml instead of the 50ml 😂 To me it’s a very sweet creamy vanilla with a freshness that comes through here and there! its so unique. I don’t any ‘metal’ smell! It’s fantastic. I feel it has shot up to my fav vanilla because it’s sweet and creamy but never goes cloying! LOVE.

Nutmeg & Almond

Metallique caught me off guard. The name and packaging hint at something very different than what is in the bottle. Am I disappointed? Not at all!

Bizarrely, Metallique is reminiscent of cotton candy and Play-Doh to me. I smelled it in the store and fell instantly in love. My husband saw how nostalgic it made me and decided we couldn’t leave without taking a bottle home.

I love wearing this fragrance to bed on a cool night. It’s beautiful but also cozy and comforting because of how my brain interprets the notes. Metallique is worth a try. You may not have the same scent impression as I did but hopefully you will still find a similar sense of joy in wearing this fragrance.

evarosa

A garish Chanel no 5?

I love the aldehydic genre but realize that there are just some combinations that don't mesh with me. The name 'Metallique' was calling me but I was cautious about the Tom Ford brand. And as expected I did not find love.

Metallique is aldehydic, powdery but also sugary sweet and has that "oily" thick base that comes from something... musk and sandalwood maybe?

I'll pass on this one but appreciate that brands produce aldehydes forward fragrances.

irispoudre

Never thought a fragrance could be refreshing and cozy as a warm hug at the same time: Metallique achieves that feeling on my skin. The cool, metallic shield given by the opening notes wraps my mind in a uplifting, completely comfortable zone warmed by a touch of alluring vanilla and sandalwood accord.
Not my everyday fragrance, but the one I reach every time I need to set everything in place.

LadyIva

This is a weird scent. The opening is indeed metallic and quite unpleasant; however, it only lasts about 2-3 minutes and then transforms into an obnoxiously sweet synthetic vanilla fragrance. It smells like a cheap vanilla deodorant spray or air freshener. Shame about the cool bottle.

Kanutten

On my skin this is a slightly more complex and mature version of Armani Si Fiori. That pretty much sums it up.
Powdery, very nice and super feminine. I like it quite a lot, even though a hot summers day definitely wasn't the best day to test it. Great fragrance, but I don't think its special enough for the price.

Djchildress

This stuff just doesn't seem feminine to me at all! It'd be a stretch to even call it unisex in my personal opinion. It's nice, I really like it and I plan to purchase it when I have the money and find a good deal. But I'm struggling to see how this is feminine.

toushiroumimi

Yeah I tried so hard to like it but you reeeeally need to mix this to get somewhere…

For my nose and my brain 😂😂😂 this smells like one of those bathrooms fresheners thingys that you buy from the supermarket and I don’t know why I can’t shake this idea off my head…

HASSAN-AFSHARIAN

Flippi1

Not that I care and I will wear what I want but this also seems totally unisex to me !

Flippi1

took the plunge and invested in a 50ml from SpaceNK. Exquisitively packaged in foil box and beautiful mettalic mirror bottle from the less expensive signature line it still feels luxe. The fragrance itself is impressive multi layered journey clearly different on peoples skin .For me I get strong hygiene candle floss marshmallow vibes giving way to slightly metallic blood esque powdery vibe ( not as gross as it sounds ) not huge sillage but smells exotic and aspirational as a skin scent ! To my untrained noise it reminds me of Baccarart Rouge 540 ....

Kirkdonn

After opening with a base-metal blast, this settles to a beautiful balsam-wood scent on me. It's one of three fragrances my partner likes, so into my rotation it goes. A scent can be different from body to body, so try this as a sample before you buy. It's very unique and won't appeal to everyone. Thankfully, I get no vanilla, vetiver, or any other note from this, beyond what I've listed. On me, it's a perfectly approachable but slightly progressive office scent. It seems you either adore or despise Metallique. But again, its effects are dependent upon the wearer's individual physiology.

lwhaymand

I smelled this in the air from someone else and it was quite nice - very creamy and sweet with an interesting metallic edge. Maybe it just doesn't work on my skin, but when I tested it, it was headache-inducing and almost nauseating. Just so unbelievably sickly sweet from the get-go, and it only got worse as it dried down. Projected fairly heavily as well which didn't help. Perhaps this would be nice from a distance when it lingers in the air, but up close it was unpleasant.

Nice to see a unique female-marketed designer fragrance though. I've smelled countless unique men's designer fragrances, but in my experience, most of the women's designers are quite similar and boring. Top marks for trying something new, but I don't think this is a winner unfortunately.

Flippi1

had a quick blast in SpaceNK and all I got was cotton candy and vanilla.....? like but seemed quite weak .... intrigued!

eatapeach18

This smells like Christmas. Whenever I take a whiff, I'm reminded of the holidays, delicate snowfall, tree-trimming, and baking sugar cookies.

Unlike other reviewers here, I get mostly balsam/piney notes, with a touch of citrus from the bergamot, and only a hint of vanilla. I love vanilla gourmands, and was hoping to smell more vanilla in this, but the earthy, piney, wood notes make it very unique.

muckypup61

Vanilla, vanilla, vanilla! Coming across as quite sweet! This is around 15-20 minutes after application. I do get that hint of metallic/pencil shavings. The musk mallow gives me that cotton candy vibe. Will update on longevity and sillage later this evening. This is the roller ball application.

Follow-up: Well, longevity on me is poor. I applied it around noon, and it had become a skin scent by 4 p.m. Reapplied, and again, down to a skin scent by 8 p.m. All that was left was vanilla cotton candy. Not one I would spend the $$$ on for a full bottle.

Kellergirl

This is devine! I get orange creamsicle, with a touch of vanilla. Very nice!

NDStars

First blast of super sweet citrus on top of vanilla and musk. Bright fresh clean and yet there's a warmer almost amber-y base that weighs it down nicely. After a minute, the freshness fades and a dusky purple heliotrope starts to present. It's like the scent takes you from a bright clear sunny morning to a cloudy dreamy twilight garden. Not sure why they named this Metallique though.. it doesn't seem to fit this sweet and soft fragrance. Projection is about arms' length. Feminine and best for all weather, as long as one doesn't go too heavy in the summer.

6+ hours later: the scent stayed on the lightly floral vanilla musk and is still very faintly there.

OmarAladdin

No blood here! A delusion!
May be due to the metallic bottle.
This smells like a quite old perfume by Escada, called Magnetism pour femme.
Similarities are typical in the sense of smell and wearability. Aldyhedic old school type of vanilla sweat, almost nutty, gourmand, requires couple of wearing to understand.
Do not read reviews before trying the perfume yourself.
Note listing interpretations are controversial.

tandem_4x4

This is a strange perfume. Sniffing in the shop does not suffice to understand it. It opens during about 30 minutes, then it is possible to feel what exactly it is.

I am very surprised that TF put this perfume straight in their main line. Why? Because it is more niche than a niche. Similar perfumes I assume are Deliria by L'Artisan Parfumeur and Fantomas by Nasomatto. I can understand those who say "blood", "chicken liver". It definitely has this hemoglobin note. However with time the fragrance turns into vanilla ice-cream spoon.

Metallic Vanilla is something which may not easy appeal the mass market. Even those who want exclusive scents and ready to pay may not really make easy decision on purchasing it.

I can not say whether I like it or not at the moment as I need to spend more time with this fragrance. Longevity and projection are not bad though.

MademoiselleMimi

Gross. Smells like alcoholic ice cream... and not in a good way.

Liljekonvall

First Tom Ford perfume that i like😎

Nancymae

Blood? No.
This is one of three scents I own that are so so similar I almost cannot tell them apart. They must all use the same type of aldehydes - the other two are discontinued so I don't think there is a big market for this type of scent. They are Tauer No. 14 Noontide Petals and Aldehyde 44 Dallas, Le Labo. All three are virtually interchangeable. Tauer may have a bit more floral but not much. Metallique has more vanilla in the dry down which is creamy and quite pretty. This is not like the more classic aldehydes of Chanel 22, Paris, Chloe, Caleche and Piguet - perhaps because they have a bit more of a floral note.
For a modern aldehyde Lutens Laine de Verre is joyful with the citrus sparkle, but for a more subdued ice queen sort of scent, this one fits nicely.

Nooshin (Atghia)

The most prominent notes: Aldehyde, Ambrette, Heliotrope and Vanilla

Grandma has made a delicious ice cream dessert. Forested aldehyde crystallizing creamy vanilla. Flavored with the sweety, musky of ambrette seed. Powdered with heliotrope and floral touch of hawthorn, and coated with unctuous sandalwood.

GoodBuyBonjour

One of my favorite vanilla scents. It is not what is typically encountered when getting vanilla, which makes it intriguing, and is more unisex than strictly feminine.
It has the earthiness of middle eastern incense, and a fresh note, all bathe in a comforting vanilla

kassinator

I tried this once a while back and I did really like it, but it was not what I was looking for at the time. Fast forward to this week and while I was picking up another Tom Ford fragrance I sprayed my wrist with this. And then I kept smelling my wrist. It is such an interesting smell to me. I do get the metallic note... To me somehow the aldehydes are light and fluffy with a metal twinge. I normally avoid aldehydes like the plague (Sorry, not sorry #5). In fact I didn’t identify this as aldehydic until I saw it listed here. It really goes to show that you can’t judge a fragrance by a list of notes!

Anyways, this is a warm cuddly vanilla with clean musks and a tinge of blood. I do connect the metallic note to blood a little bit. Somehow, this just works for me. Out of the fragrances I bought that day, Metallique is the one I’ve reached for the most! It has turned out to be a lovely surprise. The warm vanilla is the dominant note for sure, but that metallic edge... Something about it has me completely addicted. It’s so sexy and I almost get a slight animatic note. I feel like I just cannot put it to words, but this is a very sexy scent. I highly advise people aldehyde adverse like me to give this one a smell. I actually feel quite glamorous when I wear it! ;)

Smellslikequeenspirit

To me this is mostly a soft powdery vanilla fragrance. Its namesake metallic note is subtle - sometimes I can’t detect it at all. I can’t pick out the individual floral notes. This perfume is modern, comforting and warm.

Madnanavej

This ones a light and unobtrusive female scent. The sweet notes and aldehyde are fairly obvious to me. Like the name it has a kinda mettalique smell to it. Not one of my fav Tom Ford scents.

MarsOnEarth

I get light citrus, some florals, a little metal, and a good amount of vanilla. To me it smells like vanilla ice cream on a metal spoon with lemon shavings.

April338

This was love at first sniff for me. I tried it at the store on paper and I was completely intrigued. It’s a fragrance that is not groundbreaking by any means but it’s beautiful. It’s the cleanest vanilla musk I’ve ever smelled. It’s clean, it’s cozy, it’s sexy...it’s everything I’ve been searching for in a fragrance. I think I’ve found my signature scent.

adamh9201

I love this fragrance. I received a sample at the store and I had never heard of this one prior and the employee did not tell me what gender it was marketed towards, so this smells very unisex to say the least. A very fresh and clean smell with lots of vanilla and some florals. Beautiful to say the least!

Pinkpearls33

Just got a sample of this and WOW it is such a beautiful gourmand scent. Very feminine. I had Kilian don’t be shy sprayed on the other and they both smell very similar although Kilian is probably more sweet. I would purchase a bottle after my sample finishes. Can’t go wrong with this scent If you like sweet vanilla type fragrances.

Sol0013

Strong and warm vanilla. Actually it almost smells like vanilla cupcake to me. A little bit woody. It's a nice perfume. Very classy. Sophisticated, grown up vanilla. But I think it's too expensive for how it smells like. I mean, the ingredients for this aren't expensive. You're mostly paying for the brand. However, if I had money to splurge on a perfume, I'd probably buy this.

Update:
I tested this on my wrist today. It's a pretty vanilla as I remembered but it's rather powdery and almost makes me choke :/ :(

Confection10

No metallic, no blood, no chicken liver, no urine, no soap, but a nosefull of mouthwatering vanilla with flowery accord to me. Totally different side to Black Orchid and it’s lovely flankers. All so delicious and addictive. Metallique is beautiful and calm aldehydic scent.

Pianomelody

A modern perfume. She surprised me at first with her notes of pink pepper aldehydes and bergamot. At first glance it releases a clean and polite aura, after a couple of minutes it turns out to be mysterious with a veil of glamour. I was certainly impressed by this perfume, it is unforgettable and not suitable for everyone! I am sure I will buy a bottle of this prestigious perfume, for now I have my sample. Fall in love ... Beautiful! 💞🍁

Sillage: 6.5/10
Longevity: 7./10

Overall: 9./10

Mad-Demoiselle

I tested it at my hand, i like it although expensive its just addictive on my skin!! I want to buy it

e2less

A Tom Ford Rep at Saks recommended me to try Metallique. Two sprays on the back of my hand and I was like ... hmm?
A powdery vanilla? That's it? A must admit the bottle is gorgeous. I continued shopping in the mall and received several compliments. So I ask someone how it smells on me. They replied "sweet vanilla musc." That's all I get a sweet vanilla musc but it grew on me. This is purely a musky base (layering) anytime scent with a little sweetness of vanilla that sets close to the skin. Not bad but not good for a Tom Ford brand.

Venerian

Smells super powdery, and then smells even more powdery when it's on skin, all I can say is that I will never use it

Dr.basharalsaffar

For me ..this fregrance is just diffrent and unique its clean shiny powedary creamy salty sent. In my opnion is unisex which what the lady like to smell on aman and which man like lady to wear it . well done tom ford but sillage an longevity is moderate this what should corrected .

Riverwind79

Unfortunately this is not the kind of perfume for me.. I was looking forward to a lovely vanilla scent but this I think the metallic part is just too overwhelming for me. I had a bad headache after smelling this perfume. I might revisit the perfume a few more days later to see how it goes.

Owlie

I revisited this scent and I maintain that, to me, it smells like inhaling a whiff of Pink Sugar while simultaneously getting a bloody nose. As someone who has worked chairside in an oral surgeon’s office I, too, know what blood smells like. As does anyone who has had experience living in a body filled with it. No need to invalidate another’s opinion or experience because you don’t agree.

Dr.Toxic

Am I crazy for smelling the similarity with Ambre Imperial by Van Cleef & Arpels ?
Why has nobody mentioned this?...I was shocked to discover the similarity and even compared them side to side.

brumbarche

Shares notes with Soleil Neige (more benzoin/flufy/crush violet powder-like) and Musk Pure (obviously more musky, and here you have hawthorn). I can smell TF Metalique underneath Rolling in Love by Kilian, where almond base, similar to what you feel here is decorated with floral notes. TF Metalique has exactly this golden+silver feel to it (warm+cold), maybe due to nutty helitrope in combination with warm pepper and cool vanilla , which together smell exactly like candied almonds, but the sandalwood and the balsam give it depth and density, while moving the gourmand texture into the perfume realm. It does have this metalic zing to it, but I wouldn't qualify it as "blood" at all. It smells great and longevity is great, but ...
Others will love smelling it as you pass by, but as the day goes, it can become a bit heavy and cloying - like you overate with candied roasted nuts, so for day wear, spray lightly in the upper part of your body and prefer lower part of the body (behind the knees etc..). Maybe it would be a good choice for wearing ti to the club, as it's interesting, warm and inviting. To me - it's great to wear in the evenings, but even greater to layer with some other perfumes I love (Loewe's Quizas Seduccion for example to intensify it, and Bvlgari Goldea to brighten up Metallique).

Sophiii

Sweet, gourmand fragrance with aldehyde and a tiny bit of a metallic note at the end of the sniff. Not my cup of tea, but I can see how some people like it. For people that say it smells like blood, I can understand that too as a main component of the red blood cells is Iron (Fe)... so it very well could remind some of us of blood!

Lucid Dreamer

First... don't listen to all the sheeple saying this smells like blood. I'm a nurse, and this smells nothing like blood. And ignore the negative reviews. This fragrance is a masterpiece.

So... I was at the mall about to step onto the travelator when a woman swept past me and I caught a whiff of her fragrance. I had to ask what it was. She told me "Tom Ford's Metallique." I immediately went and tried some on, and... WOW! I've been wearing fragrance since the 80's, and only a handful of times have I been this captivated by a scent. Metallique is a silly name for it though. No metal smell at all. It's an exquisitely delicate and delicious blend of toffee and flowers and is sexy, feminine, and absolutely intoxicating. I noticed the retro note and I'm still trying to think what fragrance this reminds me of from the 90s. When I first sprayed it I thought it wasn't going to work on me because it smelled like suntan lotion, but over the course of about 15 minutes it bloomed into the same scrumptious scent I'd smelled on the travelator woman.

Despite the price tag and the non-transparent bottle, I think I'm going to have to purchase a bottle of this. It's utterly divine. It's like JPG's Classique, Flowerbomb and Lou Lou poured into one big bottle of heaven.

Thank you, Tom Ford!

Ferra_Verto

This is very well-executed, true to the name. Smells like fragrant (spicy/floral) and powdery vanilla ice cream in a sharp metal cone. Its effect is pretty interesting as well; warm enough to catch your attention, but aloof and cold enough that you admire from afar. I could see some pretty unique flankers coming from this, one that explores the vanilla warmth, and the other delving deep into the biting metal aldehydic aspect. I can't wait to try this in the summer!

renonagasan

The name is quite misleading but also not? The name only applies to how this smells like if you sniff it from the atomizer. It does smell like metal shavings probably because of the aldehydes. But on the skin, it’s a dry vanilla ice cream cone in a bottle. And for someone who is a lover of vanilla ice cream, I love this a lot as well. The dryness perhaps is brought about by the spices on top while the aldehydes adds that dry airy quality but I guess that’s also the creamy tartness of the sandalwood. The florals are almost unnoticeable. This is an overdose of vanilla with aldehydes giving it it’s lift and the warmth of spices. As far as the name is concerned, yeah, I dunno so much about that but this is lovely. This is perfectly unisex because ice creams don’t have gender lol. And I wouldn’t mind wearing this during summer even if it’s got a bit of density to it because who doesn’t like ice cream during summer? Specially vanilla? But definitely perfect for transitioning into spring all the way to winter. Oooh this vanilla bomb would be perfect during cold weathers. The ice cream quality will definitely come alive by then.
