My Name by Trussardi is a Amber Floral fragrance for women. My Name was launched in 2013. The nose behind this fragrance is Aurelien Guichard. Top notes are Heliotrope and White Violet; middle notes are Lilac, Musk and Arum Lily; base notes are Vanilla and Amber.

After the men's fragrance My Land from 2012, the house of Trussardi presents My Name as its female partner. Both fragrances are inspired by Italian lifestyle, and especially by the city of Milan. My Name comes out in September 2013. The targeted group is women between 25 and 45.

It is a fresh, floral and delicate scent with a strong impact. It opens with white violet and heliotrope. The heart notes include lilac and musk, followed by the base of vanilla and dry amber.

Architect Antonio Citterio designed the perfume bottle. Gaia Trussardi, creative director of the brand and fourth generation of the family which founded this house, appears as the advertising face. Video is directed by Gabriele Salvatores.

The fragrance is available as 30, 50 and 100 ml Eau de Parfum.

I have tested this about ten times now trying to figure out what it smells like and if I like it. It’s not very strong, but I kept getting something super familiar and couldn’t put my finger on it until I read reviews. It smells like Kenzo Flower body MINUS that smoky incense note. So if you removed that smokiness boom same scent.

It’s soft and delicate. Not heavy at all. It’s a nice scent, but no wow factor for me.

loves2read

This is a nice safe fragrance. However, I only smell musk. It´s almost the same asi L´absolue Kenzo, but My Name stayed on my skin only for 2 hours.

Ellisinwonderland

It smells like zwitsal, but like the adult, more seductive version

Elena_Dz

Yes, it's gentle, delicate, feminine, completely not offensive and almost non-existent on the skin. It does last for hours, but it cannot be felt at all unless I literally press my nose to the skin and inhale it. Not sure if I got watered down version (bought on Notino) or this is just such a weak perfume - too bad because it is actually nice, floral & sweet.

@SofiaTeddy

I was quite high and burst out laughing. thanks

taropetal

I adore this fragrance. I adore the cute packaging and squishy cap, the powerful, generous atomizer, and most of all the scent. Comforting, clean, expensive lotion. I get the lilacs most of all and they have this creamy, nutty texture. This knocks all the perfumer’s NR musks out the water.

BikiniSoTeeny

Lovely soapy powdery scent, so sophisticated and light. I love it in the summer evening, it warms up and musk jumps of of my skin. I feel it becomes less clean and more messy hot girl and purple floral natural sweetness

ARainyDayInMay

This scent came into my collection after doing a swap and it trigerred my powdery perfumes phase.
The lilac is slightly green, feeling like you broke a bunch of lilac off and immediately smell the flower and the sap, but it's not something that will last for a long time.
I get the violet with a slightly sharp note that fades away pretty quickly leaving the powdery feel.
The drydown is a musky vanilla, kind of what you'd expect an elegant feminine silk blouse to smell like.
I find it great for the office, it's completely inoffensive and sufficiently elegant to pull off in the spring and summer since it cannot get too heavy even if you overspray.
It's not strong enough for cold weather in my opinion. When I used it in winter, it felt different, closer to smelling an empty powder pan, giving off a slightly metallic scent, but going also a little greener and sharper, becoming a skin scent almost instantly.

Moonami

My favourite Trussardi perfume. I am a powdery/vanilla/purple flowers perfumes person and this fits in well with me as it has all the notes that I love.

It is for a soft gentle feminine lady and very office friendly as it would be hard for it to offend the sensitive noses at work just don't over spray it!

cheleine

Soft, kind, good natured scent. Wears silky smooth on the skin and is ideal for people who don’t like loud scents, get easily sensitive to them or work around spaces that require no perfume (healthcare, around kids etc). Little ones actually find this delightful as it’s very soft and kind of cozy, comforting and sweet.
I wouldn’t really wear this on a date or anywhere where I’d want to feel sexy or confident, only when I want to get in a relaxed mindset or need some comfort.
Agree with the previous commenter…it’s a perfect bedtime scent.

Rozalina

The most beautiful, feminine, delicate perfume I have ever smelled. I don’t notice anything harsh or synthetic, on me there is definitely no ambroxan (hate!) thankfully.

I ordered My Name less than a month ago and I have already used up 60% of my bottle. Part of that is due to the mediocre longevity, as there’s nothing really solid like woods or patchouli grounding this hazy purple petal fragrance. It has much better longevity on fabric, so I drench my clothes. I don’t care, I will keep spraying and respraying My Name with abandon as I carry my bottle in my purse- I can’t be without this. I want this to scent my skin at all times.

Wear this before bed for lovely dreams. I think droplets of this powdery elixir diffuse off the tutus of the sugar plum fairies and into the air when they dance…

toosimilar

Top notes are just amazing, something so much familiar!
However, really soon I was left with something else
Weird transformation, so better let this develop on your skin before you decide to buy it...

selinacat

I don't have much to add to the reviews here, they're very spot on. This is an acceptable musky floral but hardly anything worth seeking out. The ambroxan (synthetic ambergris) note is there. If you get any funky notes, it's that. But my skin/nose loves musk so it picks up nicely.

I sprayed around 3 times. I probably could've sprayed more. It's not a body mist, but it's hard to overspray. Still the quality in the ingredients is there, but it's nothing special. You get what you pay for, nothing more, nothing less.

If your collection is substantial, give this a miss. You probably have something similar. If you want this in an artesanal composition I recommend M. MICALLEF SPIRITUAL

Erincess

Not the scent, only feels similar to vera wang princess. Its the scent for a young princess which is soft and sweet, kinda candy-ish. Love the scent.. but will not wear it as daily perfume on my age 35. Recommend for those young girls.

dariaka

Blind bought it based on the notes and the reviews on several websites.
Unfortunately, it's not as soft and cozy as I expected this to be. The smell is odd on my skin, it sometimes smells of diapers and something unpleasant, I can't really understand why.
I thought this would be a non-intrusive and inoffensive scent that you can for example wear at home or spray your hair with before going to bed — nope. This fragrance is quite intrusive and not at all soft and safe for me, I can't even get any powdery notes.
Even though I like all the notes here separately (Heliotrope, Amber, Musk, Vanilla, Lilac even) or together in other fragrances, this exact composition I can't make friends with.
My mom likes it and can't detect the notes I'm finding unpleasant though so I just passed it on to her

raesmells

This is such an underrated gem. Not much to add to the other reviews, but its soft floral powder is not to be missed. So smooth, nothing sharp.

Mangaetteok

Soft, gentle, creamy, with heliotrope & a very little violet + some lilac - it reminds me so much, of a more sophisticated, 'Johnson's baby lotion' - but in the nicest possible way. Subtle, elegant, beautiful, with a v pleasant, delicate musk. Delicate is a good way to describe the whole thing, & I don't wear this (because it's similar to another of my beloved perfumes) but it smells absolutely lovely on my friend, & she wears it so often, it has become her new signature, the only heliotrope I usually wear is in Alaia Blanche, & Narciso Poudree - but this, one with it's creamy, gentle lilac & almond flower + heliotrope is just lovely (& might be something you could find on a teacher, a nanny or anybody who works with children, (such as my friend,) bc it's gentle but persistent, it lingers long on clothes, espc; but it is not boring, not at all, you would also find this on a person who is extremely classy, & wears elegant classic style clothes & has impeccable taste & is never flashy in anyway, she would wear this - it is, delicate & beautiful & it's a lovely perfume altogether, espc if you like delicate perfumes; I prefer this much to a Drop D'Issey, which is a little more bombastic - where My Name is gentle & subtle, I picture someone dressed in pale colours, a cashmere sweater perhaps - with soft, natural, slightly wavy hair - it's a v calm scent, & the person who wears this is never ostentatious, but is still stylish, in a classc way & v confident in herself. (Someone here said it smells almost like Designer "Baby Lotion" with some lilac, almond flower, vanille +heliotrope & I think that's quite true. Longevity is pretty good. Am always quite taken with Trussardi - the house makes some lovely perfumes, & this is one of the nicest, beautiful violet almond flower & heliotrope; the vanilla is barely there & sweet but not too sweet, as is the entire perfume & it's all so lovely, I doubt anybody's could smell this on somebody else, & dislike it, it's something most ppl find clean, slightly sweet & beautiful, & everybody is pleased to smell such gentle perfumes on others. (& as others have mentioned this is very similar, but less spicy, than Florentina, by Sylvaine Delacourt, which I'm also fond of & wear, that parfum was gift, but this one I purchased.) It really is my good friend's Signature, now though, this, very much so, & she wears it like a second skin, morning, afternoon & even evening - she used to wear, Love Chloe, but now always wear this (she's not one for lots of different perfumes, & this reallysuits her vibe) & she always smells fresh, but not too citrus-sy, clean, slightly lotioney & of Lilac/Vanille /Almond Flower, like some kind of beautiful lotion & purple flower, & people say "Oh you smell lovely" - rather than "What perfume are you wearing" which is something she likes a lot. This is her vibe, v much - & would suit anybody who wears Love Chloe, or even the Chloe EDP & loves to smell clean but feminine & beautiful.

mikajla

One of my favorites if not the most favorite. It's a dreamy floral powdery perfume that won't offend anyone. It's soft and makes me feel like i'm in a garden's heaven. It smells fresh and clean and i find it to be very comforting.

intoxicatinggourmand

I got through phases with this perfume. Upon initial spray, it is a cold fresh floral fragrance, super feminine. About a half hour to an hour later, something about this scent smells slightly dated and gives me a slight headache. Then after 2 hours its back to being gorgeous and the vanilla and amber come out more and rounds out the scent. This projects pretty well on my skin, my mom sniffed this on me when I went to hug her and she told me it smelled pretty nostalgic for her, like her grandmother's powder when she was young. Sometimes I spray it on my pillows before bed.

jocing

This is elegant, soft powdery, lovely, airy perfume.
Is a purple flower garden perfume that full of purple and white garden.

Is baby powder but is lean toward purple flowery.
Can smell some mild lilies in this one.

I totally love them, you can wear them very often.

GUADELUPA

It's a lilac on a musky base. The lilac is exactly like it grows in the garden, blooming in the spring, you just want to bury your nose and sniff. It's a spring fragrance. If you're sensitive to musk, be aware that musky notes are intensive here. Actually, it's a musky-lilac scent - two main accords. The scent is more beautiful on the skin. On the skin it becomes really floral, delicate and feminine. I also can smell some flowers, probably arum lilies. Longevity and sillage is excellent - all day long on clothes. I think, My Name is more suitable for cold season. But in any way, it's very interesting scent and unique of its kind.

sabrina.elenora.smal

Nice perfume, soft powdery and sweet flowers.
Reminds me of Sensi by Armani.

But softer and a bit sweeter.
From Sensi I got a headache this one doesn't give me one luckily.

Good choice if you like powdery scents.

alexandra13

I got a sample of My name when buying another perfume, maybe 5 years ago or more. I used it up so easily. It stuck in my brain. I don´t like vanilla perfumes, but this was different. I clearly remember looking at my collection blankly, then reaching for the little vial on the toilet mirror shelf and spraying, thinking, "Problem solved, God this is so lovely". I´ve got the full bottle now and it´s the same comforting, delicate, at home in a beautiful house kind of vibe as back then. Violets, almond flower, heliotrope (I have an enormous bush in my garden) and some musky amber in the dry-down. Gorgeous, intimate, the ultimate comfort scent. Use it before bed and it´s like a warm embrace.

srimati

A delicate, floral, powdery and feminine fragrance worth having in your collection. It was a blind buy and I do not regret one bit. It is very soft on days when you don't want to make a big statement, but it makes a statement all on its own.

snoopy2

I was hoping this would smell like baby powder but it smells like Johnson’s baby oil. The vanilla develops on the dry down and it gets a little more powdery. Overall, very soft and delicate but not what I was going for.

M1rth

This smells a bit lotion-y to me but not in a cheap sense? I agree that it's a very feminine, elegant scent, and the more I smell it the more I like it, but unfortunately it doesn't match my not-so-ladylike style. I'd like to just occasionally smell it without wearing it myself. It really does get better with every sniff.
Gave it to my mom who was very happy about it, though, so win-win :)

islandgirlmaranda

I had gone on the forum here asking for soft, feminine, powdery perfume recommendations and this one was suggested. I had never even hear of it before. I took a chance after reading reviews and ordered a bottle from eBay. I am so pleasantly surprised! This blind buy was success. It's so soft, light, airy, floral, and oh so feminine. I think this could be worn year round. I don't think it has substantial longevity, it's not some power house, but it is very delightful. The bottle itself is pretty but the jumbo gaudy rubbery lid is hilarious looking. It doesn't suit it.

tashwakefield

Perhaps it's the weather, or perhaps the nature of my skin, but this is warming to me. By warming, I mean it feels as though it has warmth and yet if I change the nature of my mental approach, I can easily sense the cool linen sheet vibe that others are describing. I was worried from the other reviews that I may not like this, but I saw the Goccia bottle for a ridiculously discounted price on eBay, beautiful to behold and I have to say, it's as gorgeous on the inside. It somehow reminds me of something, so strong is that memory association playing in my mind, but I can't entirely tell where from. I wonder if it's like one of the beautiful expensive perfumes my grandmother wore? Don't get the wrong idea, she never wore and old last scent in her life! Her favourite fragrance was Dune and I wonder if that's what this fragrance is triggering in me?

Anyway, don't believe the dis-hype; I have all manner of fragrances in my collection and I am impressed by this one. It's 120% class, like my late grandmother in her Yves St. Laurent button down shirt and pearl earrings ❤️

I finally purchased My Name. It was not so easy to find. I tested My Name many years ago and liked it a lot. I love the smell of lilacs but in a perfume, I like it when there are other floral notes blended with them.
My Name is soft, floral, feminine and very office and home friendly. Cannot disturb anyone. It gets a bit powdery in the drydown but avoids smelling dated like some powdery, lilac dominant perfumes.

This is a scent of my favourite season: late spring-early summer, blooming lilacs, a walk through meadows.
It fits every season in my opinion, even though it has the smell of spring flowers.
It sits close to skin. Longevity should be better and sillage at least moderate, this is Eau de Parfum after all. You do have to add a few sprays during a day, to keep this beautiful, soft, purple floral cloud around you.
I bought the 30 ml bottle with very low price. The bottle in this size is all glass, including the cap, and it's a pretty bottle.

harperpeshhe

A very pretty and sweet field of cold lilacs. It is very feminine and ever so slightly powdery. This is the best alternative to a summery fragrance that doesn’t exude citrus. My Name feels like being in between cool silk sheets with the air con on in the midst of summer. It’s one of my husband favourites on me. I only wish it lasted longer than 4 hours.

Marialina

Tremendously powdery fluffy hyper-feminine ultra-frilly sugary violet, like an enormous lilac tulle dress your mother put you in for an amusing photo when you were three. That's really all there is to it: if you love flowery sweetness, you'll get on with this, but if you don't, you won't. There is another element: a strong undertone of the dewy indolic dankness of L'Heure Bleue, which makes this lean older but gives it extra depth. I happen to love it, and I think for the price it's very special.

DieT CroaK

I really wasn’t expecting this to be anything special when I bought this. I tried Donna with high expectations and was let down severely. My Name turned out to be something substantial. I agree that it has elements similar to A Drop D’Issey, mainly the powdery lilac. Both are outstanding with My Name being more delicate and frilly. Maybe it’s because I am in the process of redecorating my bathroom so decor, patterns and color schemes have been on my mind an awful lot lately. To me, this fragrance would be the cutesy farmhouse French stuff that they sell on Etsy. It may be ubiquitous and reproduced to filth but sometimes you happen to find something that’s a cut above the rest and just speaks to you. Fresh, intriguing, unmistakably feminine and tasteful. It hasn’t gone cloying in the swamp ass Chicago humidity, thank God. It retains an airy ethereal vibe. I can see this being wearable for all seasons. You may prefer to reach for it at night because it has a cozy feel but it definitely works for the office and adjacent environments during the daytime. Longevity is better than average but not as good as A Drop. Sillage ranges being only slightly above noticeable. It is mainly powdery like I said but that’s not the lasting impression of this fragrance. It’s a patchwork of powdery, sweet, clean and floral. The bottle perfectly represents the scent. It’s something sophisticated that you would find on Brigitte Bardot’s vanity. I sadly did have a harder time finding a bottle though. My Scent was everywhere but Name was more scarce. Has this been discontinued? Unfortunate if so because this is a good one!

Dorange Sense

Pretty, lilac, cold, princess, cream, girlie woman, tender, quiet, fresh, glossy, soothing.

ingeneuxo

-This gives me a drop d'issey vibes, except it is less nivea cold cream and a tinge more sweet.
-Soft, heliotrope almondy scent. Very clean smelling.
-Dry-down has an interesting citrus EO X powdered cocoa vibe to it. Cute.
-A non-perfume perfume for people who insist on wearing something even in strict no-perfume settings. (-)

Vellocet

This was exactly what I was hoping it to be. Powdery, gentle and very feminine. Stays close on the skin which this type of powdery scents tend to do, but I like it! I can feel it on my skin six hours later. So this was a very safe blind buy! Although the gold logo fell out when I opened it. Shame, the bottle is much prettier with it.

marigoldmarigold

it’s official, I’m in love

ViouAmara

Lovely, dainty violette sweet powder with a clear dapper green note, something like a tic-tac hint. Morning scent (when the nose is still asleep) or just before going to bed. Bordering childish, cares for the inner child. No trail, cleverly self-centered. Good pick.

Gege Moraes

Nothing more than a perfume smell like powder and it’s not powdery! If you wanna know it! It’s like a union of Omnia cristaline and amethyste with a annoying vanilla that doesn’t fit here! Silage pour!

Soapyscent

This is a love at first sniff and it's still as gorgeous as it was the first time I smelled it. This is the best powdery, creamy, soapy perfume I've ever smelled. It's soft though so I use it when the weather gets hot. The heat makes it a lot stronger at least on me. I'm on my second bottle. Would definitely repurchase!

lesritesdelavie

I just tried it today and I want to have a bottle now. It happens rarely. It reminds me quite a bit of Dsquared2 She Wood. Maybe a bit more potent and feminine but really good replacement as She Wood has disappeared from the shelves.
I was a bit afraid of the vanilla in it, but it actually balances out the rest of the notes and ties them together.

Skinterpreter

I wrote a review on this perfume before (if you want, check it a couple of comments below) and now I see I should have expressed more enthusiasm&love for this fragrance. :) Even though it's more on the faint, soft side and normally I'm used to "louder" perfumes, and even though I perceived it as "green" before and not powdery enough (which I wasn't particularly fond of), only now I can smell it's beautiful powdery aspect, gentle lilac note mixed with a hint of vanilla and violet. I wear it mostly before bed or after shower (as I prefer wearing more noticeable perfumes when I go out), but I enjoy it so, so much. Now it's not only a "filler" perfume for me I wear when I don't know what else to wear.... It became a love for me and a beautiful bedtime scent I'm reaching for quite often. :) truly pretty!

Eval81

Uh...My Name...Why did you have to be so faint? This is so well balanced, clean and light floral, that comes out feminine, comforting and soft. I love the smell, but I can't get pass the fact that it dissapears so quickly. Probably, my favorite powdery perfume in terms of notes and I am not a powdery fan...

elepi

Lovely feminine scent, I'm obsessed. I blind bought this thinking it would be sweeter, but I can't smell the vanilla at all. On my skin it comes off as rather fresh because of the musk, and floral, but in a very soft way. It's also extremely delicate, some people can't even smell it. It's mainly powdery violets, and it reminds me of some happy childhood memory that I can't exactly pinpoint, maybe related to some cosmetic product my mom used to wear. It makes me feel clean and graceful.

epona1705

The best blind buy I ever bought. I really smell the violets! Performs well for me!

rqqq

My second fragrance. I blind bought a 50ml from a sale. It must be the weakest fragrance in my collection. I couldn't smell it.
I can fully understand why so many people like it as a skin scent. It was soft and simple. I personally dislike perfumes with no layers and super soft. Isn't that the purpose of shower gel?

MaryamOHS

If I was granted one wish in my life, I'd wish for "My Name" to become my natural skin scent. this perfume makes me feel like I'm "the woman", not just a woman, it makes me fall in love with myself even when I'm dressed in my oldest pajama set and haven't washed my hair for 3 days. I love it, it's the type of scent that is intimate and comforting, a perfect bedtime scent, just the right balance of sweet, powdery, and creamy. If you like the sweet aroma of almond oil you'd love this, this sweet almond scent comes form Heliotrope. sometimes I like to make it more fresh and less cozy, so I layer it with an orange scented body mist, particularly a spicy orange scent, they go really well together, also for such a sophisticated fragrance, this is really cheap, may god keep his blessings upon us.

Kimi203

I ordered this based upon reviews... I liked how other people wrote and feel about it - round, mommy feeling, lilac, soft skin scent. But I expected something different, what was comming out of the bottle.
My first thought about this was a comforting sweet memory of my grandfather sister, who i liked very much. She was a fairytale grandmommy with white fluffy hair, big innocent blue eyes, very feminine with shy smile and i remember her creamy smell when she kissed me. She always smells so comforting and lovely. My passed beloved granny had migrains, so she never wore scents.. Also my mummy... So I always adore this auntie, how she smells. So long story short - i wanted to gift it to my another granny (who was an actress in the oast and who is a real diva and madamme in my eyes - she wears jewelry, she is smoking long thin cigarettes, drinking red wine and she always wears a lipstick - although she lives alone and is 90 y old) to use it.... But then i started to try it... And now I can appriciate it delicasy and uncomplicated loveliness on days I want to please others. It is very likeable and innofensive scent. I think I will gift my granny some jewelry instead of this 😅

valevaleria

Femenine, so femenine. This is bvlgari's omnia amethyst without the green note.

Skinterpreter

So, I blind bought this, hoping this would smell similar to Love by Chloe (at least a tiny little bit). It doesn't. It smells nothing like that - which doesn't make it a bad fragrance, though. It's decent - soft, flowery, creamy - but it also feels way greener than I expected and in no way powdery, which makes it very similar to Flower by Kenzo and I wasn't really fond of that one. I don't know why, based on the notes I didn't really think this would smell like Flower even though it was listed among similar perfumes. My bad. :)
Anyway, I don't dislike the scent. I think it would be good for me to wear during those days when I just want to smell pretty and "pretty neutral" at the same time, if you know what I mean... I can smell lilac there and I like it. It's also kind of comforting, which I like about it, too. I only wish it would feel less "green" to me and more powder-like. I would still recommend the fragrance if you want something gentle and soft for yourself, something creamy and green at the same time. :) and if you like lilac in perfumes, too...

Gummybear002

Elegant and impossible to dislike. Perfect for office wear, and inoffensive to those around you. I don't think it smells like lilac even if it's listed, it's just sweet powdery florals!

Aromaniacy

This one was a recent purchase.
The three top listed scents, powdery, floral vanilla is what this is. A non offensive scent, very suitable for workplace. Spring, summer and perhaps autumn days are, I feel, the most suited for this perfume to be worn. I feel it's for women 25+ years old. It's not a perfume that you'll walk next to someone and they will feel the scent, it sits closer to the skin, but I will definitely repurchase it, i am in love with powdery scents and this one is the perfect powdery perfume for many uses.

(& as others have mentioned this is very similar, but less spicy, than Florentina, by Sylvaine Delacourt, which I'm also fond of & wear, that parfum was gift but this one I purchased.) It really is my good friend's Signature, now though, this, very much so, & she wears it like a second skin, morning, afternoon & even evening - she used to wear, Love Chloe, but now always wear this (she's not one for lots of different perfumes, & this reallysuits her vibe) & she always smells fresh, but not too citrus-sy, clean, slightly lotioney & of Lilac/Vanille /Almond Flower, like some kind of beautiful lotion & purple flower, & people say "Oh you smell lovely" - rather than "What perfume are you wearing" which is something she likes a lot. This is her vibe, v much - & would suit anybody who wears Love Chloe, or even the Chloe EDP & loves to smell clean but feminine & beautiful.

kai_forks

I discovered this perfume by accident. I was browsing some samples online, saw this and fell in love with the notes. I've purchased the whole bottle few months ago and wow. I've never smelled anything close.. I own a Lacoste Pour Femme and it's definitely not similar at all. It smells like an inoffensive, skin scent expensive lotion with amber drydown. Creamy and just comforting. I can heavily smell the lilac here. It's not those baby or dusty, vintage powder type of scent. It's more for grown ups. This is gorgeous y'all.

llamasinpajamas

my first thought was that it smells like fabric softener... a delicate powdery floral vanilla. very soft and comforting

Nothing extra ordinary.. very None-offensive , powdery soft pleasant feminine. From opening til it disappears the performance is nice. Not too much or loud or too strong.. I think it’s very pleasant until after dry down until it fades away.. I enjoyed every spray and finished the bottle.. I even kept the empty bottle for a while until I finally let go 😁

ioanaszmeu

Purple flowers dusted with vanilla sugar!
This is such a lovely fragrance, and such an affordable price! The sillage is decent, not that powerful, but it beats other perfumes that cost triple(I'm looking at you Coco Noir) Anyway, the scent feels very ladylike, clean, put together. Very powdery. It reminds me a bit of Insolence, but that one is more young and whimsical, Trussardi My Name feels more grown up and formal.

AllaboutRayRay

I have smelt this scent before, but I just can't put my finger on it. Regardless, it is a soft feminine scent of lilac, vanilla, and very soft amber. I feel like I am holding sweet secrets. Sillage is not great but very intimate. I would wear this to bed or any moment where I am embracing my feminity.

DearDalya

That's a great powdery perfume! Love it! I sprayed myself in the morning and at nightime my boyfried told me that i smell like vintage powder. Really nice smell! Very comfy!

Magnoliajo

This smells similar to baby wipes which is a scent I can't stand however it's sweetened up with something that makes it really pleasant and I do actually like it. It's a very gentle scent, I was expecting the powder to be thicker and fluffier but it's very lightweight and easy to wear. Will use it as an everyday every weather scent when I want something simple and pretty.

Badbadkitti

Ok! So I am NOT a powdery scent girl HOWEVER this scent has me under its spell! It’s sweet but not too sweet, feminine, creamy, and powdery. On my skin I get a lilac vanilla scented kids bubbles (like the ones that you dip the wand in) I layer this with Choco Musk and OH MY GOD! It’s the Bees knees and the Dog’s balls ya’ll!

SailorV

There are many fragrances that are kind of similar to My Name. Sweet, floral powder and musk is not exactly a groundbreaking idea. But the lilac note is a lovely twist that makes this stand out from the bunch.
Lilac isn't used in perfumery as often as many other florals, and it has a tendency to turn screechy or cloying when it's done wrong.
In My Name it's done right. Like a sweet nectar, but airy and fresh with the smallest hint of greenery.
The rest of the perfume is a beautiful blend of almond-like heliotrope, light creamy vanilla, powdery violets and fluffy white musk. None of the notes are too sweet or too sharp, everything feels smooth and balanced. It's a comforting, clean, soft scent that is suitable for daytime use year round, but especially fitting in spring, when the lilac trees also start to bloom.

This is a relatively shy scent, no loud performer, but I don't mind. It can hardly be oversprayed and is very affordable, so an extra spray or two won't hurt.

Koningin

It’s the softest most delicate fragrance I own.
It’s smells like Zwitsal bodylotion. Longevity is good. I sprayed it on last evening before going to sleep and could still detect it in the morning.
However, I can’t imagine this scent having any sillage whatsoever. Its a skin scent from the jump.
This is perfect to wear to bed, or for those that don’t really like perfumes but want to wear something that is not obvious. The scent itself is nice. Powdery and mild. When I first sprayed it, I smelt Flower by Kenzo, as it settled down I got Lacoste pour Femme. So it’s in that category of powdery soft feminine fragrances.

I don’t expect to receive any compliments as I’m pretty certain no one can smell it but me.

In my opinion not worth purchasing for more than 10$ because it’s just not a ‘real’ perfume to me.

mirrorghost

this is primarily a musky lilac. i get a bit of violet and powdery notes as well. it reminds me of yves rocher's lilas after it would dry down and soften, but it's a bit more complex. i prefer this because lilas started so screechy on me, but once it softened up a bit it was really pretty. if you like soft lilac, you'd like this. it's perfect for spring.

HOUSTONHOUSTON

1. If you are looking for a lilac, buy Pacifica French Lilac 2. My Name = a drop of a purple omnia in a gallon of alcohol. Very subtle, barely noticeable, cheap but lasts 1 hour on skin. Smells like you applied a body lotion, not a perfume. I bought it very very cheap but still want my few bucks back.

DilqnaVasileva

My name is my favorite Sensi in spring lilac color.
Today I got my small bottle (30ml) and I love the bottle.
The perfume is fresh, but tender. Sweet, but not exactly candy. This is magic, my lucky days, my favorites moments... I smell my hand over and over again to get his soft sense. I sprayed before five hours and he is here - gentle, with soft aromatic waves.
This perfume is a real love for me, exactly like GA Sensi was before.

angienotesjunkie

Beautiful!

Every time I smell this, I think of beautiful fragrant purple flower arrangements, sitting next to a pretty chiffon bag of sugared almonds.

It's so airy, carefree and pretty, like a sunny spring day! I can't stop sniffing my wrist. Moderate longevity and projection. Great price point too. I'm very glad I got the large bottle of this, as I can see myself reaching for this one often. If it lasted longer and had better projection, it would be truly perfect ❤️

This would be a great choice for a spring wedding.

riabanana

This used to be my favorite perfume for years, I got most of the perfumes that reminded people of My Name, some I disliked and didn't get the similarity, some I loved and might even prefer to My Name. I got a dupe (Jfenzi?) of it and I was sure I'd love it, but it just smelled like a bowl of candy to me, none of the powderiness and flowery notes that I've come to love. And since then when I smell My Name, I just get that sugary, candy bowl whiff for some odd reason. But if anything, this perfume is close to perfection, to me at least.

mellyv1973

Lots of musk and powder to my nose. This stays very close to the skin, but lasts fairly long. Nice for daytime and the office. This is a very simple, feminine perfume. It's pretty, linear but not unique.

Roses amour

Lilac, heliotrope, violet: halcyon. I sprayed a few times to clear partial uptake in the atomiser tube, before use. Then the true exquisiteness of this soft, gentle perfume was revealed. The vanilla and amber base adds just the right amount of warmth together with the pleasant sweetness of the heliotrope, without overwhelming the powdery lilac, that is clearly the star in my opinion.

Apiaceae

First blast: Violets, then changes into a bitter Lilac before the Vanilla and the Heliotrope kick in. Initially, I thought that the Lilac will become a natural, sort of greenish blast of spring but it only did that for a second. To me, this is a good body lotion scent: sorta floral, sorta fluffy vanille-esque and without any peaks or edges. Very lady-like and definitely not my vibe!

herzl_f

This is a subtler and more youthful version of the discontinued Love, Chloe which I adore so much. A nice, inoffensive lilac fragrance perfect as a safe reach for any setting or occasion.

Patricia888

I have not had any luck with Trusardi perfumes so far. There is barely any I like, I found them all to be playing safe - boring floral fruity scents that don`t touch any string inside you, that cannot be memorized and longed for. This unfortunately is no different. This is just a average uninspiring floral.

Margarita Birda

Inoffensive soft and classy without being vintage. Airy purple flowers on a vanilla-musk base that doesn't get cloying or too sweet. The only downside is that it lasts only 3 hours on my skin.

Ang_11

I absolutely LOVE the initial scent: soft, powdery, delicate and classy. However, the longevity is extremely poor. After several minutes the fragrance is gone, while with my Love by Chloé EDP I can smell it all day, and even the day after. Such a shame, a lovely fragrance with zero lasting power.

zind

Well, this is a big NO from me as well. Unfortunately one of the very few (of many) blindbuys that I truly dislike. I honestly don't get all the love for this. Dealbreaker for me was the very synthetic and sharp (yes, really!) opening.

UnearthlyApothecary thinks this reminds of Pacifica French Lilac. I can't really say I agree, but I will say that French Lilac is a gorgeous natural smelling lilac that I would recommend over My Name if that's what you're looking for

UPDATE: while I find that I stopped wearing most of my designer and early purchases the opposite happened with this. I actually enjoy this a lot, my Name has turned from a dislike to a like (maybe even bordering love). It is a very nice and very sweet purple scent

vluvsperf

This is a No from me dawg! Smells like those thing you put in the toilet that cling on the rim and then dries down to Powder-fresh deodorant. i am disappointed.

UnearthlyApothecary

I sort of wish I had read all the comments about the performance before I bought this but on the other hand, my other favorite lilac scent is a bomb and I like having something soft for bed. This smells like my favorite lilac: Pacifica French Lilac dialed wayyyy down and mixed with one of my favorite creamy/lotion/ white musk scents like Toujours Glamour. A whisper soft musky creamy lilac that dries down to violet powder. Very cozy/comforting and perfect for bedtime. I love the cap it kinda brings old school bulb atomizers to mind.

vzorka3

A nostalgic scent. Brings me back to my kindergarten age (1970’s). For me this is the scent of a very elegant, pretty and gentle mother. I like wearing it in summer because it is never too much. Soft, clean and powdery.

amanda.ratu

I smell it like vintage body powder scent.. which the body powder has a lilac flower picture on it.. the scent is clean, soft, mommy-like, so easy to fade away. The longetivity is poor.. I think I've went to the hotel that smells like this Trussardi My Name.. it suits me when I go to some picnic..
but the sillage also poor, so sorry.. because it soooo soft..

irenad87

soft powdery sprinkle of purple flowers. yes! totally a mom smell. it took me to my childhood so fast I got dizzy lol. to me it smells like makeup powders back in the day.

its perfect for when you don't feel like wearing perfume-purfume but still want to smell nice. if that makes any sense.

katgirl76

Such a lovely purple floral, soft and powdery. Definitely a lilac scent, with musk and vanilla at the base. I would love it, but it lasts such a short time on my perfume eating skin :( Still, I will totally enjoy wearing this generous gift from a fellow Fragrantian!

Edit! I love this the more I wear it. The vanilla, musk and amber come in beautifully after about an 1-1.5 hrs on me and then it is really gorgeous! And contrary to my first wearing, it really does last forever, 8+ hours, though sillage is maybe arm length for most of that time.

Cherry_Darling

Super nice - the good kind of powdery perfume that smells fresh and clean and floral. Not too sweet, no vintage feel.

Amanjo

Scent: this is a soft, lotion-like, powdery, soapy scent. It is clean and simple and quite linear on me. It makes me think of expensive body creams and relaxing baths. I find it soothing, fresh and a bit sweet. Somehow, this reminds me of baby powder, particularly the Dutch Zwitsal. That's why I would never wear it myself. 6/10

Who/where/when: this is a very inoffensive, office-safe, everyday scent. It's great for casual wear, to feel nurtured and content. The person who wears this is loving, caring, innocent, uncomplicated and naturally beautiful.

Longevity: weak to moderate.

Sillage: soft.

SalinasL

I really like My Name as I’ve been into gentler perfumes these days. It reminds me exactly of a certain kind of candy but I can’t for the life of me think of what it is. It’s not a “candy” kind of scent as it’s not fruity and not extremely sweet, but it brings to mind something like Turkish Delight with rosewater or Parma Violet hearts. I love spraying some on before putting my kids to bed. It has that comforting, “mom” feel about it. Only thing stopping me from loving it is that the longevity is abysmal. I can spray 3 times on each forearm/wrist and three times around the neck and it’s barely even a skin scent within an hour. Annoying.

Kots_Tanya

Someone here said its a momsy perfume and I agree and I love it. Its very nude soft feminine addicting kind of scent, and compare to the My Scent it actually does have lilac note and violet note is so pretty. I really love it, it does have a bit of cheap smell a bit at the dry down but nothing horrible. It's a beautiful safe fragrance.

Anywho

My Name is a nice, soft, comfy kind of a scent. The flowers in here behave very well and greet you as a nicely rounded bouquet and playing their part in this subtle composition without trying to usurp the top spot and getting all the attention. Great for every day from morning til late afternoon. For a cocktail during ‘Happy Hour’ after work you might want to slip into something more playful, though.

Edit: I have been sampling this again and it’s on my want list now. If you are a fan of powdery scents, you have to give this one a go; so, so beautiful

liverpudlian78

I don't remember whether I reviewed My Name earlier, but wanted to echo another reviewer's comment that this smells like Florentina by Sylvaine Delacourte. Florentina is indeed very similar, and I thought so when I first sampled it after I had bought this, but it is also spicier and a bit richer.

Overall, I like this one but I don't think it has great sillage. It can smell a teensy bit synthetic as times, unlike Florentina, but it is nevertheless a lovely, inoffensive, fresh and powdery scent (and much less expensive!) I also love the bottle!

delightme5

Sweet(not lolly), lotion like cream smelling. I can see this on all sorts of people. Dont let the initial sweet lilacs fool you into thinking this is a floral bound femme.
This is a nude scent - in true sense.
And although it is...You, or those near, will smell it.
Well done.

masako_30

I've always been curious about this one, for almost a year it was on my wish list. Finally it arrived by mail a couple of weeks ago.
Such a scent could not disappoint me! I'm so satisfied. I knew I'd have loved it in order to the notes that intrigued me alot. I feel only few hints of vanilla to my nose, that pleases me anyway.
My Name creates a slight addiction, i know I'll become crazy about this powdery, a bit "rétro" perfume.

musenkata

Everything else, but not lilac as i hoped for! Mostly musk. Reminds me of creme like Nivea - calm and gentle.

Sabretoothkitten

So pretty!. I don't always love violets in perfume but this is very subtle and not the candied violet in many others. Also the vanilla isn't too strong or overpowering. It's well blended and not too candy like or too floral.
I tend to like subtle scents for most days and will wear bold ones when I go out. I would love a big bottle of this and want to explore other Trussardi scents.

Freckleface

Absolutely in LOVE with this master piece!
Words cant describe how beautifull and delicate this is..

Its varm as love, classic like a pearl, beautifull like a diamond, soft and gentle like a warm comforting hug, and ageless and dreamy like memories..

Stunning, absolutely stunning!

Contessa01

I love trussardi’s Donna - that’s an absolutely gorgeous fragrance - and Trussardi have a lot of great fragrances. This one is nice but doesn’t comparatively stand out. Also the staying power isn’t great which is a shame. Nevertheless a good find and a decent lilac fragrance.

CaliMember

Blind buying can be exciting and rewarding. Trussardi My Name is another Fragrantica-driven blind buy that was successful and I am so glad I found it. I love soft, powdery scents and this one fits the bill. I use it by itself or sometimes I spray it on top of scents I want to soften. I love it and this will be a staple in my collection from now on.

pavi_ne

I work as a dental assistant and currently I am looking for a soft comforting scent that would be also pleasant for the patients should they catch a whiff of me. I wanted something clean, creamy and calming. This one ticks all the boxes and truly is very pretty but somehow in my mind this is a scent for a very mature woman. I'll keep searching.

basgam

It is warm though sharp sweetness of honey and something woody. It is sophisticated, indeed, and I can't compare it to any other fragrance. For some reason it gives me this idea of 'dark' or deep fragrance, probably due to no lightness or freshness in it.

JennyY

It was a present, and at first I didn’t like it, full of regret that I opened the packaging. This first impression was strangely wrong and followed by a strong addiction to this fragrance: I am usually a fan of cloyingly sweet ‘cotton candy’ perfumes but if I want to make a more ‘serious’ impression I wear this scent. It is quite sweet but in a powdery soft way. The elements are well-balanced: you can’t say whether it’s floral, or vanilla at first - it’s kind of all mixed nicely and creates an orchestra of its own.
My husband likes it as well, although he can be really really capricious about fragrances. I’ve read one review here somewhere saying that it smells like a very expensive hand cream - Agreed! For me it’s the smell of my mom when she gave me a kiss goodnight all my childhood - which is magical.

Soofiya

I was surprised to see that I forgot to write a review for My Name.I bought it more than three years ago when I was newly intrested in perfumes and I loved it back then.I even thought that it can be my signature but my husband wasn't fond of it(he liked it but didn't love it) so I decided to try other perfumes and this was the beginning of my perfume addiction
Now that I tried it after a long separation,I can see that I still love it.lilac and heliotrope are the most dominant notes on me and they're fresh, softly powdered and lovely here.there's also this marshmallowy vanilla which makes My Name delicious, not that it's a gourmand or overly sweet,it's just a delicious floral scent.
when I first spray it I feel as if I'm smelling rain-washed purple petals of flowers while there's a hint of sweet powdery scent coming from somewhere preventing it from turning to a cold or melancholic purple floral.after a while it smells like face powder and marshmallows on me.dry down is creamy and slightly musky and smells like a heavenly smelling body lotion. It smells great in each stage and I love it all through it's life
Trussardi My Name is truely lovely.it's super feminine, innocent and romantic yet classy and sophisticated.it's clean and comforting the same time.it's also inoffensive, easy to wear year round(I prefer it the most in spring) and in various situations.it's a modern scent but I can see something classical feminine in it too
I prefer it to Love by Chloe and IMHO it has nothing to do with Lacoste Pour femme.if you love Bvlgari Omnia Amethyst or Issey Miyake Pleats Please edp(the purple bottle) there's a big chance for you to like My Name too
However I have some other great lilac-heliotrope perfumes nowadays( such as Amouage Lilac Love),there will be always a place for Trussardi My Name in my collection.there's about 30mils or less left in it's bottle and after going through it,I may consider repurchasing(something I rarely do)
Longevity is moderate on my skin,4-5 hours.it stays close to skin but I won't call it a weak or faint perfume as I can catch lovely whiffs of it during all these hours
By the way I like it's bottle too
P.S: today my husband commented on it: you smell pretty and angelic!
I think after all he's growing to love it too

Love love love! Purple flowers heaven. So clean but warm and comforting. The lilac note is marvellous. At the moment, i prefer this to Love Chloé (another beloved purple flowers scent) as My Name is less “cold”. Unfortunately, longevity is poor (unlike Love Chloé) and it makes me so sad.

Madrona

I got two words for you:

Brigitte Bardot.

the purple rose

Absolutely beautiful. Fresh, creamy, lilac powdery scent. This is a soft scent, I wish it was stronger so I could smell it all around me. Very feminine and romantic. Well worth the purchase. A definite 10/10.

Reine_des_Neiges

A few days ago, I’ve started a topic in the forums called ‘The Scent of Innocence’. Here a quote about the kind of person I’ve described there:

‘What would be a scent for someone innocent, perhaps still quite naive? A person who absolutely does not exude sex in that same femme fatale fashion [as a seductive, coquette woman] , but is somehow still very desirable to men? The kind of person who does not even know how attractive they are to others and what kinds of thoughts and desires they evoke in men, probably quite oblivious to the interest of others, they couldn’t imagine being seen that way. Alluring but in a very cute and pure manner.

Personally I’m thinking perhaps something soft and creamy, or perhaps lightly floral and fresh without being powdery or stuffy. Definitely no ‘dark’ notes, nothing like you would find in a seductive coquette’s scents. I’m thinking of the colour white, softness, nothing overly sweet or girly but with a distinct sense of purity and naivete, not quite aware of the dark and evil sides of the world. Yet something that people want, the kind of person a man would want for himself and which would inevitably trigger a man’s need to protect.’

Trussardi My Name was suggested multiple times and yes, this is it. This is The Scent of Innocence.

It opens very floral but quickly dries down to the oft described soft, creamy scent that is its beauty. From that point onward it stays relatively linear, only becoming somewhat softer in terms of sillage. I wouldn’t even describe this as a floral scent. The flowers are there, yes, but it’s extremely well blended so to my nose all the florals do, is keep this from being too cloying and heavy. The vanilla is there as well but really only makes this more creamy, I can’t detect it as a very strong vanilla as is the case in the base of Guerlain’s L’Instant, which shares a similar vibe.

But My Name is softer, less loud and opulent and its vanilla is much more balanced. It’s a skin scent in the ‘your skin but better’ way. In the base I think I can detect something similar to the very slight citrus accord that is present in L’Instant’s base as well, which doesn’t really smell like citrus but works to keep it fresh and prevent the creaminess from becoming suffocating. There's also an ever so slight “sour” note present, but not in a truly sour way, more the kind of sour-ish background note that is also present on human skin which only adds to its YSBB vibe. I can see that it's also described as sweet in some reviews but I don't find this sweet per se. It's definitely not dry, it's creamy but I cannot see any kind of sugary, girly or fruity sweetness here. It's just soft.

Sillage is polite but present enough that people can smell it when close to you or when you pass by. It's still very soft and probably only gives off a short whiff but in my opinion that only adds to its enchanting quality, giving it that ‘come hither’ aspect that makes people curious and makes them want to bury their nose in it to smell it better. I really don’t think that anyone could truly dislike this.

Longevity is absolutely great, I can still smell it the next day and it works extremely well when you add a few drops of this with your bodylotion. It does survive a shower but only barely. It’s quite potent though so beware of overspraying. Less is decidedly more with this one.

At the moment we're in the middle of a massive heatwave over here and too much of this can become somewhat suffocating. I imagine this as a year round scent, but not for days that temperatures go above 25°C. This is probably at its very best during the colder months, as it is so cosy. Makes me want to snuggle up with a blanket. This scent feels like a warm yet not too thick jumper made of extremely soft cashmere, no edges or scratchy fabric here. This feels like a hug from heaven.

That’s all from me for now, I might update later if anything new comes to light.

P.S. Don’t get the bodylotion. Smells NOTHING like the perfume.

Single rose in the forest

My bf bought this for me today. I am deeply in love with it . IT is very hot today and was in a cloud of "my name "and never got tired of it.So feminine, innocent but a little playful. So soothing.Something a fairy or princess would wear.I was between this one and Cashmere Mist nude by D.K but the moment I sniffed My name i said "ok this is the one''.This imo is in the same category with other favourites of mine such as Chloe,Love Chloe,BLV..

huda_jubail

Lovely powdery soapy clean simple fragrance, and smells purple.

It reminds me of Guerlain' Insolence.

damienthoresson

A deeply musky perfume, not unlike Florentina from Sylvaine Delacourte. Powdery and creamy with an exquisite richness that only gets better as time progresses. It can be a bit indolic at times, but that goes away after the first 20 odd minutes.

Venusia

Wonderful creamy, powdery heliotrope-lilac combination on a light sweet a bit greenish musky base. Very feminine indeed. Fortunately I don‘t notice vanilla at all. It is a fine scent from opening to end, no synthetic notes come through. I get 4-5 hours of noticeable sillage. Lingers as a skin scent and in hair up to 24h!
My first Trussardi, an unexpected beauty!
Thanks to your inspiring reviews!

epiprocta

[Contact me for purchase!]

I found this at an airport in London, and returned to smell it at least 10 times before I had to run back and buy it last minute. I personally find the bottle unappealing, but the juice inside is sweet, saturated and powdery, like a pollen-covered flower. Intriguing

I had a period of lilac cravings, and it bothered me that all the lilacs I found were centred around other elements, or were quite weak. This one is a whole other story, very rich and indulgent. I both love it and hate it, and can't take my nose off my wrist. For some reason I absolutely loathe violets in any perfume, so I keep going back and forth about it, while sniffing my wrist in frustration while waiting for the violets to disappear.

Gourmandlover

Lovely, powdery scent which reminds me of Kenzo flower. Unfortunately it has very poor sillage and longevity on my skin.

ange ou démon

okay, this is a creamy daytime scent, inoffensive and subtle. It actually resembles Kenzo amour with one note that differentiates it from Kenzo -which by the way is a big like for me bordering on love- and that makes it to my nose at least, less likeable.

I couldn't tell which note makes its conctortion a bit weird and unstable in my opinion, since I have never smelled it before either in perfume or in nature. I could tell it is a flower which has a bit of 'greenness' in it.Comparing the notes of these too, I decided it must be the lilac which sadly seems to be the main note in this one and makes me think that if it the analogy of that note was less than it is, it would make it a much better perfume.

As it is though, this perfume is a 'like' bordering on a somewhat 'dislike' because of that.

Dorange Sense

In my eyes it resembles the scent of old books like no other perfume (at least from what I know). Wonderful.

bibidee

Lovely! I couldn't resist a blind buy because so many reviewers describe it as a clean, soft, creamy, luxurious, dreamy scent - and I am so happy to find that it is all that and more.
My Name is a beautiful mix of light purple flowers lying on a bed of soft vanilla. It’s both powdery and creamy, and only slightly sweet. The musk in this is light and airy. The whole feel is clean, fresh, and cozy. It’s beautifully blended – a lovely and comfortable everyday scent that never turns gourmand on me. This is a bedtime scent for me, and it still smells fresh overnight. A very successful blind buy!

chloematilda

I love a sweet powdery floral and this one more than satisfies. Gorgeous violet over a creamy sweet layer of vanilla with a sexy touch of musk. This is a clean, feminine beauty, great for everyday wear.

Good projection and lasts about 4-5 hours on me. It satisfies my love of vanilla based scents, and my love of powdered violets. I can also sense lilac which rounds out the floral, and a bit of amber appears in the drydown.

Not a "fussy" floral - it's very youthful with the vanilla and amber holding it all together. Very beautifully blended and balanced - it's a winner for me.

dipisor

Femininity in a bottle. That creamy lilac...Heaven! Elegant, delicate, romantic. The drydown is so comforting and enjoyable. Gorgeous spring scent. Makes a woman bloom. Truly beautiful.

Really different from all the common scents we encounter these days at every corner.

I think every woman should have this in her wardrobe.

Very good longevity and sillage.

Pivoinie

Lovely classy comfort scent. I agree with the reviewer below that I does remind of D&G Sicily and then it doesn't... It has a similar creamy and comforting feel, but My Name is much more sweet and heavy, where Sicily imo has more dept and little more sparkle to balance the creaminess. Nevertheless, I really like this perfume. It is quite strong and better not oversprayed, but 2 sprays bring it out best on my skin. It reminds me also of a more luxurious version of the Palmolive Almond Milk showergel: so comforting and soft and clean, instant feelgood juice!

najgirl

Sadly, I don't smell much - just a very soft (i.e.,skin scent at best), sugar-like scent. I had greater expectations based on all the wonderful reviews, but perhaps the bottle I purchased had sat for a while... That said, it was a blind buy, because I liked Parlet-moi d' Amour, and a very reasonable one for the price. The bottle is pretty too. Overall happy I bought it, but will not use.

raiza1990

On me, it is a clean and creamy powder, with a distinctive arum lily smell. Not really sweet, but elegant and mature.
I think for some people, it may be a little too sterile, but i like it.

Taxidermy

I almost bought it. Mainly because it smells like a "real" perfume, which is a rare thing these days. It really smells very posh, as another reviewer has already stated. I sprayed it on a paper strip and tucked it into my pocket, and I was instantly surrounded by a scent cloud of this classy, powdery perfume. I was really fascinated by it. But the more I smelled it, the more I felt uncertain about it. "Is it really for me? Maybe it's too powdery and intrusive". At the end of the day, I realized that it's probably one of those beautiful perfumes that you like to smell on others but not exactly feel comfortable wearing it yourself. And it felt familiar. It reminded me a lot of Flower by Kenzo. The projection and longevity are very good. One spray on a paper strip overpowered Chanel Chance I was wearing that day. I wouldn't call it clean and safe. It's powdery, posh and in your face, but in the best possible way.

mirenaf

I like it. A fairly simple and safe perfume. It smells nice, clean, without complicated combinations. Good for any age.

Eugirlsniffs

So many reviews say this smells like baby powder. Same here. It's a very subtle, non-offensive baby powder scent. Nice and calming but I don't want to smell like a freshly bathed newborn. There is nothing sexy or wild or unique going on here and I like loud and offensive perfumes. I gifted it to my 8 year old.

Taronga

I blind bought it in winter and almost regretted my decision, but summer came and I gave it another try, and I loooove it now! It's soo good, it's sweet and happy fragrance, it's uplifting and energising. It lasts for more than 10 hours on my skin. Very comforting scent, my new favourite.

Plumaria

This was a blind buy based on these reviews as this is not available in the country I live.
It reminds me basically of three scents: In the first hour of Charme from La Perla, the similarity is almost 90%. I used to wear and love Charme ten years ago. Men loved it. So when I tried My Name on, I liked it immediately.

After a while it starts resembling Lacoste Pour Femme, just sweeter and cremier. The dry down at the end of the day is like Nivea Soft Creme in the white tube, nice, cosy and feminine.

I don't feel this as powdery but rather creamy and quite sweet, not in a gourmand but in a flowery way, which I guess is the heliotropin, so if you are used to dry, aromatic fragrances you may perceive this as overly sweet.
I like to wear it in the cold and mild weather and this is certainly something I would love to smell on people around me because it is objectively a very very beautiful scent, extremely feminine, delicate, and comforting, and suitable to women of all ages.

It is long-lasting but has moderate sillage, so you won't bother anyone if you overspray it. On me two sprays are enough and I may need to refresh it after 6 hours. If you don't smell it, it means that your nose got used to it — or to something similar — and can't perceive it anymore.

This perfume is perfection.
I have a boyfriend who seems to ignore my fragrances, sometimes if I ask him, he says his opinion, but never from his own initiative. But this perfume was the stone breaker. I went to him and he immediately told me I smell gorgeous.
I also have a father who loves those strong, heavy and sweet perfumes, every other than that is just OK. But this perfume amazed him and he was also one who told me it is perfect.
So, to sum up, this fragrance is the most complimented, or you could say the most not hated perfume of all times. I absolutely love it, it is floral, powdery but the silage I get, is enormous.
I am head over heels with this perfume! :)

700poodles

My man doesn't react to perfumes. Whatever I put on my wrist and under his nose he'll say "Eh, subtle". To whatever with strong vanilla he'll say "Oh, nice".
And then there was Trussardi My Name. I'd expected his "subtle" comment.
And he was: "Woooow! A...a.. an old turntable!...antique...velvet drapes...oh..oh...tapestries on the wall!" :D

Annabear

I can't break down the individual notes, all I can tell you is that when I have this on, I am immediately transported to my aunt's apartment in Piazza Bologna, in Rome. This makes no sense chronologically because she passed away in the late '80's long before this was launched. Although she dabbled with different fragrances, I seem to remember that she wore (almost exclusively) Arpege. I can only imagine that the various fragrances and cosmetics she wore collectively smelled like this fragrance, as it's floral, soft, with some violets. Or, Trussardi is such a genius, he's managed to capture the feeling of an Italian inner city apartment, complete with the sun dappled balcony above the bustle of the pedestrian traffic below.
This lasts more than 10 hours on my skin. Needless to say, I like it because it brings back nostalgic memories, and if you like a pretty floral with vanilla and light violets, then you may like this one too.
PS I know aesthetically the bottle may not be everyone's idea of good design, so keep it in your underwear drawer where it will last longer, and lightly permeate the contents!

Pretty good perfume, longevity - about 8 hours. It has a subtle scent based on lilac, a bit of musk, and the vanilla is practically unnoticed. Pleasant, soapy, non-fussy. For me it is too polite. With this category of scent I prefer Love Chloe, its are more refined, also a little soapy-powders, irish.

theuntrainednose

Very soft, serene and beautiful lilac and powder. Very powdery but also airy and somewhat fresh-juicy-floral.

I don't really know how to explain, but while I have smelled several powdery scents, this is the first one I can call fresh and juicy. It's lovely.

It smells like some cream I wore at the each when I was little, and it smells like one beautician office I have been. It's very powdery and relaxing. Wears close to skin, however.

I own a sample. Lasts 3, maybe 4 hours. It's quite good while it lasts.

hails_blogger

I love this. Definitely has the luxurious powdery vanilla-lilac cream feel. So feminine, warm and comforting without being sickly sweet. Its so gorgeous, being petal soft but not in a baby powderish way at all.

Aromanika

1 creamy 2 lilac for sure 3 powdery 4 musky. Definitely nice in cool/warm weather. I wear it to work, it easy on the nose yet smells interesting not the usual fresh floral coworkers opt out for. It is definitely ME

Amal Elyahyaoui

you smell earth, water, rain, dust and freshness,
you feel you are new, or to be more accurate, renewed.
although it is light, it is bright! a very paradoxal combination
very appropriate for spring & can go perfectly with summer time.
definitely day not night, especially winter nights.

perfume_infatuated

My name is "Le Talc en Poudre Ultime Eau de Parfum, pour Bébé".
Very innocent and long lasting. Awesome stuff!

iamoir

My name is soft baby-powdery, lotion-like and has dashes of dove bar soap as well. Feels moist on the skin; excuse me if I can't explain well what I sense, imagine the opposite of a dry perfume. Smells just lovely. If you like a soft purple floral do try it.
Doesn't last long on my skin, three hours tops is what I got. Plus I would like a more intense smelling juice. It's soft, but way thin and weak. A no from me

Nutrition

Ooh.Oh, my God, this smells like real baby lotion!
It's not bad, is it?And 30 ml of the bottle is really cute.
My name is a feast of purple flowers.

heroine

I don't smell any powder in this. It's pure lotion scent. It's a safe blind-buy.
EDIT: I purchased this twice and I love it.

Germanblonde

What I love about this site and my blind purchases that are based on reviews here? They expose me to frags that would otherwise not even come up on my radar. And lately I just have luck with my blind purchases. So I ordered My Name, and boy am I glad I did. This is way better than I anticipated based on the notes listed here and the reviews. It is sweet indeed, but in a very light way, yet not the fleeting kind of tenderness. This could become my new casual day time fragrance. It will not bump my favorite day time beauty Jil Sander Sun off as my signature fragrance, but it is more wearable day in day out than Sun, which for me is more a leisure time scent. My Name is not too intense for a day at the office, but still it has a happy leisure time vibe to it. Most of the frags I use for work are more on the nice but boring side (like L'air du Temps), as I want to be safe and not being offensive. This fits so much better to me and my personality. I love it, and even though I consider Jil Sander Sun as my signature fragrance, I am sure I am going to wear My Name a lot more than my all time beauty this summer, because there are more opportunities for it. And yes, it does smell a bit of a nice hand lotion. It is truly lovely.

boannika

I have no idea why i didn't review this one til now. This is epic in my opinion! It's not super popular, you'll hardly ever hear someone mention this and i honestly don't know why. It's such an elegant, vintage, romantic, floral, powdery scent (but not like dry baby powder, but more like a powdery, luxurious hand cream kind of way, if that makes sense). If you want something that makes you feel like a proper lady, i suggest you try it☺. And unlike many other fragranticians here, i adore the bottle, i find it depicts the perfume perfectly.

P.S. I don't know if any of you are familiar with the woman in my profile picture, but I feel this is something she would like and wear. A perfume for a classic, vintage fashion loving natural beauty, who's not even aware of how beautiful she is.

bronni666

my name is a soft sweet delicate romantic floral bouquet.it is clean and powdery with violets and musk undertones.
it arrived in the mail today and i wore it to work and i agree with other reviewer, the key word here is subtle, so subtle that i forgot i had it on and i like to test the longevity of a newbie. no wafts, no nose to skin smell. completely disappeared even from my clothing. i like to be able to smell my perfume.
oh well, it's not really me anyway. it would suit a nice, sweet and pure country gal. it has an certain innocence about it.
there's nothing bad about it, in fact i like it but theres no point if i cant smell it.

kimmielynn

Say what you will about the tacky little bottle LOL, BUT, My Name is a classic example of why you never judge a BOOK by it's Cover!
OMGoodness this fragrance aaahh-mmm-aazzing!
I have been searching for a Lilac, Violet fragrance that would satisfy my need for that ohhh sooo soft, bright and perfect scent of real Lilacs and this is the one!
Super intense at first spray in the Lilac element which I loved but then Violets and Heliotrope began to pop, like little pings here and there!
Soon I was wearing a full blown symphony of purple perfection!!!
It's fizzy at first, almost like it was mixed with a tad bit of champagne to tickle your nose and senses.
It is simple but very elegant.
A bit modern, and a tiny bit of old school, as it lays down a blue print for the perfect garden fragrance.
It's grounded in it's composition and clearly could be found in any grandmothers backyard garden, as the lilac, heliotrope and violet are about as real as I have ever smelled.
It reeks of simplicity and old wealth.
I think this is the fragrance you might find on the dressing tables of the very wealthy, as an everyday SECRET fragrance staple, the scent that the rest of us yearn for, yet are afraid to ask..."What fragrance are you wearing?"
My Name is brightly crisp and sweet. It's all purple floral for me, with the Lilac always forefront. It is not sugary sweet on my skin, as the Vanilla did not come in to play. The Musk, Arum Lily and Amber were also not detectable for me.
I love this scent and feel like I found a real treasure in this fragrance! I think it will be best in spring and summer but I will wear it in fall too, just because it is so lovely!
It is a dreary, ugly, rainy and icy day here today...I have it on, and it is singing the promise and renewal of spring! It has lifted my mood and set my sights on spring. When wearing this, I swear spring could be right around the corner. I will not hesitate to use it in winter, as a Blahhhh Buster, on ugly depressing days!
Longevity is better than average and sillage is good.
I think this smells a tad bit like Aerin Lauders, Lilac Path which I really like too. IMHO this one is brighter, more realistic and is a bit more affordable. It definitely last longer on the skin.
If you love the notes of Lilac, Violets and Heliotrope you really need to give Trussardis, My Name a try.

popsiclepout

My Name was a blind buy for me, which I NEVER do. But I had been craving for a soft, kinda nostalgic (but not of the literal grandma kind) and "light purple" powdery perfume for a while, to use as a winter daytime fragrance. But nothing came up for a really long time. All that I came up with during my great note-based Fragrantica quest turned out to be either violet overload, sugar overload or what smelled like no powder at all when tried on. The last addition to my list, My Name by Trussardi, seemed just perfect. I remember seeing its bottle in stores a while ago when it first came out, but for some reason I never reached for it (must be the dreaded bottle, which I do not hate at all, but I don't exactly worship either). Unfortunately, none of the stores where I currently live carry Trussardi, but I stumbled upon a great deal in a trusty online store, so I got bitten by the blind buy bug. After reading A LOT of reviews, I finally took the plunge; thinking it would be tolerable at worst. Well, luckily it proved to be much more. In the first spritz, I fell lowkey in love with it.

My Name is not a linear perfume. It opens with a boost of botanical smells, like a flower-filled spring garden (must be heliothrope and violet), warmed by a slight hint of vanilla. After five or ten minutes; vanilla, soap and a very prominent lilac take over. This stage stays for longest, and it's what comes to my mind when I think of My Name. In four or five hours, it turns into a very soft vanilla cream wrapped in a blanket of musk, and stays a skin scent like this from there on.

It was a bit less purple than I expected, or the notes make it sound like. When I close my eyes and smell it , what I see is really, really pale lavender specks of watercolour on an creamy ivory base. While it is not loud at all, I find it to be a very original member of both floral and powdery genres. Its powderiness is not an aldehytic one at all, more like natural powdery notes from lilac and violet, and some vanilla powder combined. What is so striking is that there is no astringency to My Name at all, whether it is a fruity/acidic, metallic or spicy one. Its vanilla is soft, feminine, cloudy (but not gourmand). Its flowers are dreamlike and not in-your-face. Its musk is almost vaporized. Well, one thing that stands out is that it has such a strongly soapy and clean quality it veers towards being citric, but never exactly gets there. And that cleanliness gets quite toned down, almost "humanized" by the delicious vanilla and musk notes in it. Perfect balance, I must say. One perfume it kinda reminds me of is J.Lo Glow, in its creamy, soapy floral character; but this is a much grown-up and sophisticated version with less mainstream notes and more rounded edges.

The perfume tends to be quite moderate on both sillage and longevity departments, but goes on and on when sprayed on clothing. It projects much better and brighter that way too, so I happily assigned some trusty scarves to My Name.

lulami

Beautiful, soft, powdery, romantic and long-lasting fragrance with a moderate sillage. On me it becomes a skin scent even though I can smell whiffs of it all day and I know it is actually present. As time passes it becomes more and more powdery on my skin, a typical "purple" flower powdery perfume with lots of lilac and violet. At first I thought it was very similar to Kenzo Flower but as the middle and base notes develop I could sense the difference. Flower is more sharp and bold and even louder compared to this, it is a powerful powdery perfume that fills the air and accompanies you everywhere with a stubborn insistance. My name is calmer and in less need of attention and that amber-vanilla notes make the difference as they make the perfume "shy" and innocent and lovely and they confer it just the right amount of sweetness.
The only thing that ruins this amazing fragrance is the bottle, whose design I can't really understand. It's so heavy and the 100 ml one is really giant. I could hardly hold it in my hand in order to spray the perfume. What were they thinking about?

Siv7Stars

This reminds me of an Avon product from about fifteen years ago, a lilac perfume oil that came in a very small shocking pink box with a lilac flower photo. However this gets sweeter and sweeter and more vanillary. I have the 30ml bottle which is very plain and doesn't have the ovals or squashy top so many of you seem to find distressing. I didn't realise the 30ml was different and thought I might have a fake at first but the scent is the genuine article and a quick google reassured. I want a big bottle now purely for the bottle difference! Ah never content.. :/

Chic-girl

This is overly sweet to me. I first thought I like it, but I was wrong. All the other notes looks good, I love lilac and violet, but there's too much vanilla. It's kind of good but it starts to annoying me.
I don't know what it is with vanilla, because I love many really sweet perfumes, which have just a little of that, or none.

Edit: There are moments when I quite like this. If you like vanilla this is very beautiful soft scent.

Dorange Sense

To my eyes this bottle quotes oldish money that flirts with glamour: opulent expensive leatherbags, crystal glass – a bit on the edge but still lovable. The cap is hilarious, I adore the idea that a cap is allowed to be different – like soft! This is awesome and I wish there will be more of those ideas out there. The golden bridge beneith the baguette really nails it. It's like a pier, like rationality underneith something coucou.

To my nose the scent is a cold violet balm that turns into warm vanilla cream just to dissapear gently. But it stays long and good on you. It's foverer on hair. A silk scarf caressing your soul every time it slides down your neck.

Edit: I think this is my princess perfume.

deakrek

This one does remind me of Lacoste Pour Femme, but the dry down of My Name is VERY sweet, almost coyingly. I tried to layer it with a fancy lemon body lotion and this way it's just awesome! Give it a try folks!

sarage

I don't think the bottle is ugly, just the cap in the 50 ml bottle. The 30 ml bottle is really cute in my opinion.

The scent - which is definitely NOT like Flower by Kenzo or Lacoste Femme - is a beautiful, delicate and innocent purple flower mix.
This is spring and early summer in a bottle.
Very refined perfume, added in my want list.

Nil3

Creamy.

Creamy purple flowers.
Whipped vanilla powder.
Musk scented water.
Bittersweet Amber.

Creamy innocence.

peace.love.masha

I was overlooking this perfume for a very long time due to its ugly bottle. In fact I think it’s the ugliest perfume bottle I’ve ever seen, and bottle design is extremely important to me.

But one day I decided to try it, wondering if the fragrance would be as disappointing as it’s bottle.

To my surprise it was love at first sight (no, definitely not the sight, but the sniff) and I ended up buying a 30ml bottle because in my opinion it was more tolerable being with a smaller clear cap.

It’s a very cosy comforting smell, has a good sillage and lasting power on me. Although I mainly smell flowers (lilac, white violet, heliotrope), I wouldn’t call it floral. I think it’s more sweet powdery, with a delicate vanilla and musk note.

I imagine a young woman with medium to long hair that is sitting in a cafe and is chatting with her girlfriend. It’s spring/summer and they are sitting at the table outside next to lilacs blooming. Her boyfriend is sitting next to them and is watching her talk and laugh with her girlfriend and is admiring how beautiful, kind and caring she is. She isn’t a Femme Fatale, but that’s perfectly fine because that’s not the type of person you want to spend the rest of your life with.

marinatatti

I bought the 30ml yesterday and I really love the bottle (perhaps because it is so tiny). My Name has a very delicate, sophisticated fragrance. It smells posh! I really like it and it suits my skin very much. I will definitely buy the 50 or 100ml someday. The longer you wear it the better the fragrance gets! On my skin it smells like white soap and freshly washed clothes. I would recommend it for any age or time of the year. It could easily be a signature perfume!

gritzalimaria

i tried-this morning today- this perfume and it is very soft and real powdery vanilla, i don't like the bottle so i believe this is the reason why i didn't buy this stuff yet but now i am sure that -because i love powdery soft and delicate fragrances- i will have it soon on my hands.

:D

perfumeaddiction

Talk about a lasting fragrance. I just cleared out my winter clothing and replaced with spring/summer clothing and spritzed My name in the closet. 4 days later I still smell it strongly.

Soft, gentle floral with a very mild hint of vanilla in the background. This is in no way gourmand it's brilliant like the most beautiful Italian woman. I don't see how anyone could hate this fragrance in any way. Probably one of the most pleasant soft lady like fragrances I have ever encountered. This is not age discriminatory either. I can see it on a younger lady or a mature woman. It's just a great perfume all around. At first I thought it was yet another of those unfortunate faders but it stays with you whilst soft, it remains the entire day. A real beauty.

gigicreation12m.

Just got my name by trussardi and is a very pleasant soft floral, very good for warm weather. The bottle like others says , is not the good looking bottle, but who cares right? The essence is wonderful

Nikkafragrance

Someone has posted a topic about purple scents.... Well, for me My name smells very purple. It's a very powdery vanilla, but the sweetness comes after 5-6 hours. For me the scent opens with arum lily, which initially was confusing. I thought: This smells like... nothing. I am glad that I didn't hurry to write my review. I do agree that sillage is soft. However, it's a beautiful and romantic perfume.

mymlan

A delicate and powdery lilac, violet and heliotrope fragrance but very weak. When I put my nose close to the skin I pick up a floral, powdery, musky and slightly nostalgic fragrance that reminds me a bit of fabric softener. I guess this fragrance is for someone that wants something clean and inoffensive. For me is kind of pointless since I hardly smell it.

psipsina

I just received it. this is my first impression: a little sweet, as a romantic italian day, an escape to Milano. personally I prefer some strange notes, but I think this Trussardi can be an spring accessory, so I will keep it.
interesting lilac note, soft and warm, like a sun hug after the winter, a very young fragrance. is not an oriental for me, but I can smell vanilla very intensive.
Sillage is soft, the violet is not very strong, not as stronger is heliotrope.

And an update: after few hours became an softly and floral song. and I can smell violet: so quiet and pure. the first balsamic and vanilla impression was changed on another beautiful floral note. I really like it. absolutely is not an oriental.

senalica

A very clean and fresh scent, but not the kind of freshness you get from citruses - more like the freshness of a quality expensive and creamy lotion on a clean skin.
Initially I can feel flower notes, but in about half an hour on my skin it turns into a very powdery soap aroma. It is still very pleasant and creamy, but reminds me a lot of a quality hand soap I used to use.
As for the bottle - the design is.. well.. weird. Not that I would call the bottle ugly, but the soft cap, ovals on the bottle itself and the way the name is written just don't work together. I much more prefer the design of Trussardi's Donna and Delicate Rose - such clean and elegant bottles.

dzingunyte

very lovely and feminine. i use this when i want to feel elegant and mature woman :D not a young girls perfume. +30 i would say. but doesn't smell like old granny's frag ;D

biki

Starts sweet, powdery and surprisingly a tad soapy, turns into a creamy cosmetic scent. It leads me to conclude that musk and heliotrope must be detectable more at start and violet as the scent progresses. I don't detect any lilac per se. I know this is a fragrance in its own right and i am not supposed to compare it unfavourably to other scents that probably strove for something different and had some different notes to begin with... But i have to.
When it comes to perfumes, I always think that the grass is greener on the other side and that, apart from Samsara that can never be eclipsed by anything i may find in the future, every perfume that looked like a holy grain to a newby like me can turn into a mere modest introduction into a genre. This is why i fostered secret, timid expectations that My name might prove to be a better powdery scent for me than Flower.
It is not. While Flower retains its perfuminess, the integrity that separates it from other cosmetic products, My name becomes more cosmetic and that is why i decided that Flower should be mentioned. Flower is also more tenuous and rich and has bigger sillage but given that creators of My name probably didn't have those traits as their initial goal, i cannot objectively hold My name's delicateness against it. That said, i am still very glad i have tested this and if i could afford it i would definitely buy a smaller bottle. It is delicate in an emotional way, it is always unmistakably powdery but with added creaminess so it is near to my interest sphere. It was certainly a pleasant experience but also a reminder that maybe it is time to put Flower in the list with scents that can't be betterred.
Longevity is moderate but sillage is not impressive at all. A safe, lovely powdery scent that i wouldn't mind wearing more of.

Napsu

This opens with heliotrope and violet, then turns into soft soapy vanillic smell. Very pleasing and soft and pretty long lasting. This is how it smells in spring, summer and autumn weather on my skin.
Now that the weather is cooler I don't get those lovely notes out. This is just powdery smell without heliotrope and vanilla. I have to spare this for spring. It is pretty scent now but not as full and rich and pleasant and it seems to last very short time now.

rickyrebarco

This lovely fragrance opens with bright fresh lilac with heliotrope coming fast on its heels. These soft beauties bloom on my skin and then turn a bit powdery for a while. The amber and musk begin to show with the violet to give some depth to the scent. With the lily note added the fragrance is quite soapy for about 30 minutes. This is not a bad thing for me at all. The drydown is soft powdery heliotrope with lovely vanilla and musk which remains on my skin for about 2 1/2 hours with faint sillage and becomes a skin scent after that.

I wish this scent were more longlasting because it is very pretty, feminine and great for women of any age.

dr.abani

Smells exactly like old camay soup with fabulous bottle

Athens

Lovely floral powdery fragrance! I'd swear that the smell reminds me of baby wipes and a soft cotton sense, like fresh-clean sheets.
It's very soft, delicate and feminine without being heavy and you want to sniff it again and again. The bottle is noble & simply gorgeous and as for longevity, it lasts quite long I could say, at least on my skin which is very fair.
I can't wait to add this to my collection as well!

victoria.mei1992

No lilacs here, just heliotrope and dusty marshmallow.

Dufteren

I smell Marsipan.... no make up....no marsipan....no make up.

What ever it is , this scent is wonderful, it has a creammy yummyness, even though it is not a goumand it has a edible feel to it, someone wrote marshmallows, I think of Marsipan. To me this develops into a soft make up scent. When the creamy sweetness calms down, the scent becomes more powdery, and elegant and has a vintage feel to it.

I picture a young Betty Draper wearing this in her 50 style dress, young pretty and very romantic

My only issue with this scent is its longivity and silage, you really have respray this one.

victoria.mei1992

Copy of dolce gabbana Pour Femme. Sillage and longevity is very huge. It's like youre in the marshmallow 's fabric, a lot of heliotrope powdery notes.

miZZpuRRfect

Ohhhh my god, thats what i call italian chic in a bottle! Thick layer of alluring yummy sweet creamy heliotrope and lilac, powdery violet, warm vanilla amber and soft cosy plushy musk. Tested this today at my local perfumstore, and i was surrounded the whole afternoon by a big soft opaque cloud of everything what smells like heaven - simply fall in love with this elegant scent and finished by buying right away a 100 bottle at the end of my shopping day. Want to bath in it! The type of woman on the add suits perfectly this lovely chic scent. Not for the very young crowd. Suits best i d say romantic chic and confident women from 30-50.
Very projecting and intense longlasting too. Quite linear scent, it doesn t change much from top to bottom, its more a swirling and dancing around of the heavenly blended notes, whats a good thing. Still in heaven with my test spritz from the afternoon. Very enjoyable for woman who like to make an elegant statement.

Update: took a full bath and trussardi my name is still faintly wafting from my wrist. Wow ❤️

MrsLetterO

I want to review My Name, but it is difficult to be objective. I can't lose here. It's all that I love. It may be worn and go largely unnoticed. It's linear and it drifts in and out all day like a breeze. In the morning I can pick up a jumper and be overwhelmed by the breath of spring. Like Easter has arrived in winter. It's dewy and romantic. I am reminded of Walt Whitman, "Yet the lilac with mastering odour holds me".

samloves

Not tried it yet BUT I'm desperate to as I have just been told from a very good source it smells very very very like my all time favourite, Scilly by D&G. I'll let you all know my verdict as soon as I try it. Fingers crossed.
UPDATE:

Well well well, I received a surprise sample of this in the post today thanks to jimmorrison another Fragrantica reviewer . It is beautiful very like Sicilly by Dolce & Gabbana and just like Sicilly it is fresh clean shower fresh clean laundry. It stays the same from start to finish.
Update part two
Apologies if you've bought this as a blind buy hoping it is the same as Sicilly, it is very like Sicilly but only for the first few minutes then it all changes to something very powdery not as nice as Sicilly but still nice

jimmorrison

Have just discovered Trussardi My Name & have found the perfect scent I've been searching for! It has that just out of the shower smell mixed with powder, clean and fresh which last almost all day.....Love it

Julia1506

The best word to describe this fragrance is SUBTLE. Feminine, romantic, light floral scent. Very office-friendly and silent as it seats extremely close to the skin. The top floral notes last for about an hour and then scent transforms to creamy vanilla with just a hint of lilac. The longevity is moderate, 3-4 hours on my skin.

pacciosa

My new fragrance trussardi my love is very beautiful, i love it very much! Starts very sweet and flowery but soon become very soft and powdery, that are my favourite basenotes !! Only I want to say to the creator.... Why you limit the target to woman 35-45 years old? A perfume must be directed to who likes some notes instead of others, and is the woman that decide what fragrance she like and buy!!! howewer i'm 48 in february 2nd and i'm out of target but i love it!!! ;)

cherlynnie

Each time i return to the shop to have fun with some perfume testers, Trussardi my name is still the one in the top of my list. The smell is so comforting and doesnt change unlike some which i find the top notes goes off too soon, after weeks of consideration i finally purchased this.

angelayio

I am looking for a clean soapy scent. They suggested me my name. Indeed it is a soapy/ powdery scent, fresh with a pale floral background. Well to describe it in one word is nivea. A high quality nivea. Pleasant and plain.

Bluemarinejosephine

This is one of the most beautiful, feminine fragrances that I have tried in the last couple of years.

"My Name" by Trussardi has top notes of white violet and heliotrope flower; middle notes of arum flower and lilac; and base notes of musk, vanilla and ambroxan.

And, if the above description means little to you then, let me tell you how this lovely mixture made me feel.

It reminded me of a modern, lighter, more fresh version of ‘Flower” by Kenzo. It is so full of light, elegant, powdery freshness! It is very well balanced and absolutely perfect for all ages and all occasions. Simultaneously, it is different and recognizable. Yet, it is discrete and sits closely to the skin; a friend has to come close to you, hug you or kiss you on the cheek to be taken aback by how wonderful your perfume is. It is a very ladylike perfume without being a “mature lady" scent. On the contrary, it is modern but, also romantic.

The wonderful face of the fragrance is Gaia Trussardi who is also the creative director of the brand and fourth generation of the family who founded Trussardi; and she is perfect illustrating the woman that should wear this frangrance who is fresh, effortlessly beautiful and sophisticated.

The only sad thing I have to say about this fragrance is that it lasts for about 2-3 hours so you will need to re-apply often… But, is so good that it is worthy of the purchase.

Enjoy the perfume quest ;-)

kwnstanths

Im excited with this purchase. I have been looking for a soapy clean powdery scent . Found myself sniffing my hand on bed . Very delicate .

Cant see the time to start my day with its smell on my way at work . Well done Trussardi.

I can't get enough of this at the moment! It's smooth and creamy, luxurious smelling, like being wrapped in a sensually soft cashmere scarf or jumper. It reminds me of a slightly more refined She Wood by DSquared, lighter and more delicate but also warmer.
Longevity isn't great on me but I can overlook this and use it as an excuse to apply more. I've even taken to spraying some on before I get into bed, just so that I can enjoy the smell as I fall asleep.
I would say it's trans-seasonal but does seem to fit well at the moment here in the UK as we move well into Autumn.
I don't think the bottle's all that, certainly doesn't do the fragrance justice but again, I can overlook that. I purchased the 30ml edp in Tenerife on holiday last week but am already thinking about buying a larger bottle as I'm going through it at such a rate.

CarrieWhite

The more I wear it, the more I love it! It has a sort of relaxing power on me. I find it sexy too, my partner loves it <3 Wonderful!

Ioli19

This is very much a 'like' for me.. It's sweet but not in a sugary way, powdery as in a light dusting of perfumed talk, the violet and iris are quite discreet. Beautiful lilac predominantly, very faint vanilla on me. It's a girly, delicate floral, won't offend anybody, can wear it easily all year round. It has a certain cozy, comforting, serene aura to it, very snugly!
My young children love this on me, I would say from my whole collection this is their favourite, so I wear it a lot during evenings snuggling with the children in front of the roaring fire, catching up, watching movies, playing games..
I will happily finish my bottle and I will miss it when it's finished..however I won't repurchase because of its longevity..it really does not last , it's gone so quick, keep having to reapply.. And also it's silage is non existent, just a skin scent on me .. If it were stronger and bolder it would have been a winner for me!

ellina1984

I had imagined this would be a scent that stays close to the skin, vaguely floral, with a beautiful vanilla and amber base. I had hopes that the vanilla and amber would be slightly spicy, to make this in oriental.

And yet, all I can smell is flower (probably the heliotrope - not familiar with it, and lilac), that makes this scent smell like fabric softener, or shampoo. It's not an ugly smell - it just doesn't smell like perfume.

I'm really sorry I had to give this a pass.

SzekelyEmoke

I tried this in a perfumery this week, and I must say it is a very lovely perfume. It has that right kind of sweetness, that makes me want to eat it:D ! It is very complex and well formulated. I often have the feeling that something is missing when i smell different perfumes, but this was very "complete". I kept smelling my wrist after leaving the shop.
I see people mentioning that it smells ordinary, nothing too outstanding, but I think that is just because we could get used to this very "friendly" smell quite fast!
Not sure I'll buy it since it is pricey, but I definitely think it is worth trying out!

androidi

In a way this is quite a pleasant scent but I can't help feeling that it smells like a "product". It seems that the soft, sweet, floral fragrance is just trying to cover up the reek of some nasty chemicals.

bashe

smells exactly like the palmolive naturals showel gel with coconut and milk.

it is a very tendre, fragile and delicate smell. neither offensive, nor girly. suitable for every season of the year. pleasant for every nose.

smells even nice on clothes.

victoria.mei1992

At first I liked it, but now I realised that is to sweet for me and too powdery, started make me sick, it's like I am at candies fabrique. Like marshmallows, very airy and too sweet. I don't know how heliotrope smells, but I really can detect quiet strong and sweet violet note. Don't buy it at first, try it on paper and keep it for week and smell it everyday, cause second day you can feel sick cause of its sweetness. Similar to Jean Paul Gaultier same powdery smell, but jean is not so sweet, more balsamic. At drydown is very similar to bright crystal, but more powdery. For me it's usual scent which wears many girls out there.

Red Rose

well, I got my time testing this & I have it in 100ml bottle that screams lux. unfortunately in my humble openion I think this fragrance would fit with a fine lady in her 40's not her 30's like I do. However, this fragrance is very powdery, very feminin, if an angel would smell like anything at all it would smell like this superb scent. I can't describe how feminin it is, even my beloved vera wang didn't give me this kind of feel. It's not just clean & it's not just powdery, it smells like the finest cosmatical powder, a powder my teachers & my mother would wear when I was like eight years old. It's a true classic & definitely I will use my bottle in formal occasions with a feminine dress or formal wear.
note*
I'd like to say that the bottle in person is not that ugly & I never know that the cap is scented. The bottle is very heavy & feels luxurious in my small hands, I'm not that tall cause a taller person won't have troubles holding big bottles like I do. The glass has engraved oval shape all over it in front & in the back too but the trussardi golden sealant in up the front only. I got this bottle from a fine fragrances shop where I live & it's famous & well known shop all over middle east. Hope this clears things up.

ScarlettX

Fresh and light scent. I can sense sweetness, lilacs and violet.
It's a little powdery, probably because of violet.
This perfume reminds me of spring a lot. In my mind I can see beautiful day, the sun is shining and the lilacs are blooming.
It's not the most outstanding one, but it has it's charm.

noor.duisterhoff

Soft feminin sent but within 15 minutes it 's gone.... Shame...

twillocks

very nice scent but it is gone in minutes on my skin :-(

CarrieWhite

I was looking for a delicate scent and the sales assistant recommended me this. It was love at "first smell" ahah.
Clean, powdery and slightly sweet.

Agafia

Pretty, lovely, endearing, innocent. Better sister of Lanvin Eclat D'arpege. I highly recommend it!

jenniewebb

Sweet and innocent pink and white floral with face powder and a hint of sugar like the sweet sugary smell in a pastry shop. An extremely pretty scent.

I have a sample. Even though I love the fragrance I won't be buying a full bottle because the longevity is so disappointing. I only get an hour at most.

Edit.

One month later I couldn't resist and did in fact buy a full bottle. Sure enough, the longevity is definitely weak. I still love the smell but I have been layering it with Kiehl's No. 1 Musk or similar just to provide a bit of lasting power.

Lust87

I love powdery perfumes. I love lilac. I really like My Name.
It's soft, warm, flowery perfume, perfect for spring.
The beginning is juicy and green, like a bouquet of fresh flowers, with prominent lilac note. Besides, i can detect violets and lily in the background.
After some time My Name becomes more and more powdery. It's because of a huge amount of musk and sweet, powdery heliotrpoe. This powder is sweet, maybe even romantic in some way, but also elegant and sophisticated. I still can detect lovely, soft lilac. That's what i love most in this perfume.
Base notes include warm amber and sweet, noble, powdery vanilla.
What has disappointed me in My Name is longevity (about 5 hours) and sillage (it stays close to the skin). Nevertheless, i really appreciate this perfume and sooner or later i will get it.

Fizzy

Hmmm, yumm, an exquisite fresh musky amber scent, very sophisticated and fine! If I would not have a hundred another bottles of perfume on stock, I would buy! A scent, you get 15 sprizes and it seems not to be enough. Time to get a bath in a scent. For women only.
The bottle is ugly, but the baloon-cap is so soft, you probably never broke your fingernails on it.

truffles

This is nice but I don't find it to be anything like Lacoste pour Femme. The powdery lilac-y/violety aspect of My Name stands out most to my nose and the Lacoste doesn't have that at all.
This smells more alike to the new Ivoire de Balmain to me.
I love the bottle! (one man's meat . . :-D)
**Update: Trying this again today. I'm confused because this literally NOTHING like Lacoste pour Femme (15 votes ^^^) - NO-THING - COM-PLETELY AND UTTERLY DIFFERENT!!. Either people are confusing the one above with another Lacoste or . . . LpF has been seriously CHANGED since I bought and owned it 6/7 years ago - NOOOO! *horror face*. Is this maybe a site glitch (clutching at straws here), as the My Name I'm wearing is a manufacturer's sample and, as I say, I've owned and loved the Lacoste - mah nose don't lah babeh!

hnica

Wow, now that bottle is ugly... nevertheless, the scent is surprisingly good. It's light, floral-powdery and delicately sweet - really pretty. I can imagine Betty Draper wearing it, in the Don era. :) It kind of reminds me on Bvlgari Blv, but the powder doesn't stand out that much in this, it's more blended. Classy and feminine - it's not love, but I like it.

ancaan

I've recently purchased this fragrance and I am totally in love with this one. I am not a big fan of floral and powdery perfumes, but this one knocked me off my feet. I am not an expert on notes and I can't really tell which one is the most proeminent, but I can detect a creamy, sexy lilac. A very elegant one. Although is not a fresh floral fragrance, it is definitely a clean one. It's like a very creamy luxury soap. I am in love with it! But I am very dissapointed that its sillage is almost nonexistent and the longevity is poor, although is EDP. I have oily skin and perfumes usually last on me. I have ones that last 10 to 12 hours on me. But this one, no. After an hour, I have to dig my nose in my wrist to barely smell it. It stays very close to the skin, which is a shame. If you ladies know a very similar fragrance with noticeable sillage and longevity , please DO tell!

joan100

This reminds me of Love by Chloe which has the same floral/powdery/musky feel but this a bit softer and it isnt as long lasting. However both are pleasant, classy yet modern fragrances.

ginger68

A fragrance easy to wear, perfect for many occasions. I feel lilac. It's elegant and it cannot offend anyone. Feminine, flowery, creamy, non really sweet. I agree with Bihter, it is smiliar to Lacoste Pour Femme, another perfect fragrance.

Kittycat63

I tested My Name in a department store today but the bottle was not the ugly one shown above (although actually taking a closer look at that bottle above it's not so much the bottle that is vile but the cap looks hideous and totally out of place on it - I have actually seen worse perfume bottles though and, in fact, the bottle in the picture above reminds me very much of the Michael Kors Very Hollywood perfume bottle). So, that's a bit confusing! The bottle I tested from was like the Donna bottle - simple, stylish and sleek with a little tag around the neck detailing the notes from top to bottom with a little description of some of them.

I've never tried any Trussardi perfumes before and had the opportunity today in a department store to try My Name, Donna and Delicate Rose. When I saw that My Name contains lilac (one of my favorite flowers and scents) I was excited to spritz some on to see if I could pick it out of the notes. I could but minimally because the perfume is quite creamy / slightly powdery smelling so the lilac isn't as distinct as I would have liked it to be. I think maybe the violet and the musk take more of a lead in this perfume. Having said that, more than 12 hours later after spritzing it one I can smell the lilac more than I did initially.

This is a very nice perfume, classy and elegant smelling with good staying power and I'd definitely be interested in acquiring a bottle of it if I could get it for a good price!

genny17

This is a typical Trussardi, really quite unique, I like the creaminess of this scent, but as I was wearing it, my son told me I smelled weird...ok, weird isn't so good, there is in the development of the scent a spicy accord , it lasts throughout. I think the lily note has a certain spiciness.. The scent doesn't open up much either.
I am not real crazy about it, although I find it intriguing, now is it real wearable to me? I could only pull off Trussardi Blanco..
I would say if you are looking for an edgy scent, quite in its own vibe, warm and creamy, try it...

bacall

I was drawn to the unusualness of the bottle in the dept store....pulled off the slightly squidgy scented cap (reminiscent of a stress ball) and sniffed.....mmmmm beautiful 70s'ish subtle sweet ambery musk concoction that is everything I love in a fragrance. Smooth and sensual just like the shape of the Art Deco-esque bottle of which feels good in the hand. Sillage seems minimal hence sits close to the skin! Downright divine!

Bihter

I think this is very similar to Lacoste Pour Femme. Nice scent.

Mas777

Well.. I don't like at all the bottle of this new Trussardi's creation, BUT the scent is beautiful. Lilac perfumes today are quite rare, I think, because lilac smell can be easily considered a little bit 'old fashioned'. Indeed, I think that a lilac scent is out of the choir today. Yet, for this, is wonderful and can help us to feel really different from the many lovers of the most common flowered fragrances.
So, I only have to choose, for my next buy, between Trussardi and Aqua Allegoria Flora Nymphea, Guerlain. Also here lilac flower is at its best! But sillage is more moderate.
