A slightly nutty vanilla - it smells a bit spicy, mostly feminine. A very beautifully blended vanilla fragrance.

tendayslate

I usually never blind buy but I did for Bois Dore and unfortunately it was a big miss. Not at all what I expected - I get a very strong, masculine tobacco note and not much else. I dont get any creamy smooth vanilla in the slightest, it smells like a typical mens cologne to me.

Creamy_ambrette

Someone on the BDK Velvet Tonka Page said that Bois Dore was better as a almond/Tonka gourmand fragrance. I have to agree.
The teak wood, black pepper and vanilla are elevating the almond and Tonka, creating a “carmelized” or “toasted” accord.
I’m getting sweet (not overly sweet) spiced almond in the opening and gorgeous almost milky woods as it dries down. Spiced almond cream brûlée.
I feel Bois Dorè is sweeter than Velvet Tonka/ which doesn’t smell at all gourmand to me; nothing like a gazelle horn (which is what the inspo was for Velvet Tonka. A Gazelle Horn or tchereck, is a cookie filled with almond and orange blossom topped with crushed pistachios) VT is so velvety, so smooth, it comes across as a luxury body oil. What they also share in common is that awesome “rubber tyre” accord that I LOVE.
There’s also fuzzy, fluffy texture I get from both fragrances which comes from the musk.
Bois Dorè’s projection is above average and the longevity is fantastic but that’s really dependent on individual skin chemistry.
Next to Guerlain’s Tonka Imperialè, (which is my benchmark gourmand Tonka or marzipans fragrance) Bois Dorè is my second favorite “Tonka” fragrance.

astralmonad870

Great blend but really low projection and longevity

scnofthcrime

A gorgeous fragrance, especially for fall and winter. Starts with tobacco, tonka bean, pepper and wood and dries down to a smooth woody vanilla pudding scent (but to be clear, this isnt gourmand). To me this is a perfectly unisex fragrance. Gentle projection, but I'm getting soft wiffs of this. I'm loving my sample and I kind of wish I had a candle in this scent too.

toosimilar

Really similar to Velvet Tonka BDK
But it's somewhat lighter and less sweet
And more into vanilla IMO, not creamy

Gabriella.0

Very nice blend. I love the almost note the most, a bitterness that goes perfectly with the vanilla base, and the tabacco cutting trough. At first glance it's a generic winter scent, but the smells blend very well together and even my untrained nose could pick apart the individual notes

elinadinex

I blind bought this and got surprised because it's nothing as I expected, if you want a smooth creamy vanilla, this isn't the fragrance for you. It's the same DNA as Angels share and unlike the rest of this world, I'm not a big fan. It's a strong spicy and cinnamon scent and at first I couldn't stand it, but it starts to grow on me and I like it more and more.

Samantha 12

A cocooning scent, makes me think of cashmere cosy blankets, whilst eating a vanilla rice pudding with a Milky Bar in a wooden cabin. This is a soft scent, it will not announce your presence. I would wear more at home cozying up for the night. Brings a smile to my face, very comforting.

assoula17

Wonderful, cosy, creamy vanilla tonka almond yumminess 😍😍 wraps you in a heavenly soft cosy blanket.
Quite similar to Midnight in Paris but softer.

karinavi

initially smells old. not vintage, but like something thats been sitting in an attic for a long time. i wonder if dust notes are a thing. i don't think my skin or nose vibe with tobacco or almond, that might be the problem. final impression: stuffy stale cinnamon graham cracker. don't like. starts to smell ok after like 3 hours, not worth the wait in the slightest.

Jujas

The absolute epitome of COSY! What an incredibly well blended lactonic delight! Reminds me of Milk’s uber refined, perfectly tailored and quietly elegant Uncle; confident but unpretentious. This is Bois Doré.

While not listing any milk or marshmallow notes, the accord is there to my nose. Maybe it’s the initial mineral note making way for an utterly delectable, creamy vanilla-Tonka drydown or maybe it’s magic. Whatever it is, it’s completely bewitched me and my wallet.

Some say it leans feminine and maybe it does, but that confident Uncle wears it with finesse anyway.
As anyone would. It’s a fragrance that defies gender specifics. And unlike some of VCA’s other fragrances that smell lovely but lack in longevity & sillage, Bois Doré PERFORMS! Moderate longevity & sillage; never overwhelming or screechy.

Absolutely a favorite. It’s a brilliant composition that is signature scent worthy. Also, layers beautifully. Truly a masterpiece in my opinion and always a joy to wear.

Dawnya7b

Addictive! Gorgeous. Unisex. Sweet. Sultry. Worth every penny!

jojococo777

I don't think this is unisex. It's very sweet. Once it dries down, it's just pure vanilla and tonka bean for me.. reminds me of Rosie Jane Dulce which I wasn't expecting from these notes. Slight rubber tire vibe in the beginning but fades away. I also see the comparison with Velvet Tonka but it's definitely not a dupe. Velvet Tonka is one of my all-time favourite fragrances, it's darker, more almond-y and it's not straight-up vanilla like this one is. Also not Commodity Milk at all, mayyybe in the opening but overall no. This is VANILLA. Honestly might still get a bottle of Bois Doré because I like this type of vanilla, but it lacks complexity to me. The tobacco, pepper, mineral notes are misleading. It also lasted a while on me when I tried just one spray on my arm.

khent.em

Absolutely loved this fragrance. Very smooth almond, tonka & vanilla with slight woodiness. There is nothing harsh standing out. I received the most compliments when wearing this one. Unfortunately the longevity is not great. I went through the whole bottle rather quickly and debating now if it's worth getting the second bottle.

Swashbuckler9x

Van Cleef's passable apology for discontinuing Midnight In Paris.

It's got that powdery, rubbery tire accord.
Prada Luna Rossa Black but niche, or even Bvlgari Man In Black.

I like it. Definitely sweet and date night-ish.
But I'd rather you just bring Midnight back.

Yalishanxiao

Warm, smooth, sweet dessert, love it. 😍

Bois Doré is a very comforting and light scent, good choice especially for late Autumn and Winter. Powdery almond with a hint of tobacco and a lot of woods and vanilla. Sweet but not overwhelming. Also it has some dry milk powder nuances. In a group someone mentioned it reminds them of Batiste dark hair dry shampoo.. and yes it's true, of course this one has perfume quality. I don't love Bois Doré but it's very nice and unique. Longlasting but it is light, makes a nice cloud.

LudkaK

Pure bliss for winter, I love it.

Enrium

Bois Doré was not what I expected. A mineralic vanilla-tonka scent, nothing about this says "bright woods" to me. It is, however, a beautifully-balanced, high-quality scent featuring a slightly unusual composition, in keeping with others from the Extraordinaire line.

BD is sweet from initial spray, with vanilla present from the opening. It is smooth, creamy vanilla, not syrupy or cloying, punctuated by some peppery spice. The mineralic notes follow, adding a curious metallic quality to the opening. It is slightly discordant, but still works - adding a little bite and interest.

As it develops, the tonka bean slowly emerges, marrying nicely with the increasingly dry vanilla. Some almond is in there, but I primarily get tonka. I really enjoy scents that feature vanilla-tonka-almond notes in some combination - the cosy gourmand sweetness is delicious in cold weather. Here, it is beautiful - just the right amount of sweet, good-quality, wonderfully warm and comforting.

It becomes powdery and slightly woody as it begins to dry down, the tonka bean lingering. There is a smokiness to the drydown too, a nice counterpoint to the sweetness. It fades to a musky tonka bean scent. Sillage and longevity are moderate.

This is feminine-leaning in my opinion due to its vanilla sweetness, but is perhaps an example of a unisex vanilla. It is surprisingly tonka-dominant, not a bad thing in my book, but particularly here when it is high-quality and not just coumarin. A grown-up gourmand with a little edge initially, BD is not what I expected, but is truly lovely. Another underrated gem from this house, BD is an excellent tonka scent. My kind of gourmand. Tonka Doré. 4.5/5.

Helloneighbor

Something about this smells so spicy to me. It’s definitely the pepper and the tobacco but it’s not unpleasant. I blind bought this based on the reviews and though I don’t think I was expecting a smooth straightforward vanilla, I wasn’t expecting the spice. I think the mineral notes adds some interest and veers it away from the gourmand vanilla territory into something much more interesting. It’s not super prominent like you’re smelling a piece of sheet metal, but it does add a layer of complexity.

benegesserit23

I sampled this and Bois D'amande in a store. If you have smelled a real tonka bean, this is tonka, but in a fragrance form. it's all I got. tonka, period.

It's enjoyable, does not project very much, even tho I still got whiffs of it throughout the day. Still, i'd say it's more of a skin scent, but it's kinda heavy to my nose. In my opinion it leans 10% more masculine.

As for the longevity, I didn't expect it to stay on my skin for 6+ hours, I was kinda impressed. I'm also blessed, because my skin tends to hold fragrances for longer it seems. Anyway, I went with Bois D'amande instead of this one.

godzeke

Silky smooth, undoubtedly very sweet fusion of vanilla and tonka, mingled with almond adding to the powderiness, as well as giving it a nutty quality.

Smells very elegant, evoking the ambiance of stepping into a polished, newly tidied hotel room in the evening, the daylight fading into dark as a gentle chill settles in, perhaps from the faint breeze coming from the slightly ajar balcony door.
Nice, lushious, I like it.

Toobhai

You just can't compare some perfum with the notes you see!!!
Yes that's right & this is one of them!!
Scent profile is amazing to me atleast and for those description of notes.. You have to sniff it to know what it is for the difference atleast!

Clws

I don't get too sweet or powdery...I get a salty vanilla. I guess it's the mineral notes, but it also has iso e super in it as well, so that's throwing my nose off. It's not horrible but it's not one I'm going to chase down after I finish my 8 ml sample from purpl lux. If I finish my sample that is. Every nose is different though and I've bought enough frags that have changed, so I'll reserve judgement and update in a month.

ErhanDurhan

Tried it once on paper in the mall and was pleasantly surprised but not intrigued.

After some time fellow perfume enthusiast found it hard to enjoy this one because it didn't work with their skin and I bought it from them.

Bois Doré is a sweet, powdery, balanced, present yet not cloying, generally safe and crowd-pleasing fragrance. It's has good longevity (around 7 hours on skin for me) with nice scent bubble around you. It's definitely not a beast mode fragrance or a room filler.

If you enjoy sweet vanilla fragrances which are warmed and rounded with almond and tonka bean you will like this one.

PS. I have to say this reminds me of Pegasus by PdM, especially when it settles down but it might be just me, so take this with a grain of salt.

Lilly44

This is it, dark and mysterious one I've been lookng for. It'also sexy and warm, extremely long lasting. Addictive. One spray and i'm enjyoing it all day. I consider a lot od unisexs fragrances, even some marketed for women, too masculine, but this one isn't. New fave♥️

Dawnya7b

Blind buy: this smells so good! With all the comparisons to velvet tonka I got a little worried. Thankfully it’s only a slight comparison, this is way smoother and more vanillic. It’s more gourmand too! I’m not one to love gourmands but this one isn’t too much in that territory that it’s still wearable. The dry down smells like a a creamy bowl of tiramisu with almonds and whipped cream but it’s still has a perfume vibe not an overly food vibe I don’t know how to describe it. I never want to smell like a plate of food that’s not my thing but this is sexy. It’s gourmand but sexy and it’s slightly unisex leaning more feminine in my opinion.

Jezeleah

Way too musculine for me. Each time I try to declutter this fragrance I see a reviewer raving about it. I wore it one last time, and yup, I smelled like a dude, tobacco and all.
Update:
I will try layering this with vanilla 28 and since I no longer own BR540, I’ll layer with trajan!
Update: I gifted this away because my curated collection has no room for fragrances that are not perfect just as they are.
I bought this as a lighter version of Myrrh &Tonka, but I prefer M&T, to BD, because it doesn’t have tobacco. I should always run for the hills when I see a tobacco note.

singlehandedbeauty

First of all, I want to thank everyone who recommended letting the fragrance maserate. I have a very sensitive nose and prefer quieter scents, but I was so disappointed the first time I tried it because I could hardly smell anything. One month later, it's love at first spray. It's sweet with enough of a woody and musky background to keep it interesting and prevent it from becoming cloying. In the opening, I get the tiniest hint of smoky leather, which might be the black pepper and mineral notes, but it's super fleeting. The dry-down is super smooth and well-blended. Would smell great on anyone and is quite long-lasting to my nose. I'm curious to see how this smells on my husband. Yum!

Charmedbymeghan

Lovely creamy tonka fragrance, with a mild sweetness. Smells expensive & yummy. Feels cozy...

This isn't the loudest fragrance, but has a great sillage. It's the type of perfume that gets stronger as it warms up on skin and that really shows how good the quality is too.

I feel GOOD wearing it, I love being able to smell it on myself even though it's not a beast-mode. This is still appropriate for work or church, but just as good for netflix n chill moments or doing errands. This & BDK Velvet Tonka are very similar to me, and both would be the closest perfumes to a "signature scent" that I have, even though I wear a large wide variety of fragrances**

Everyday fragrance for gourmand & niche lover

aspirina

Beautiful scent. This is a very woody, nutty vanilla scent with a subtle tobacco accord. I get a little bit of suede or leather too. I think this is perfectly unisex but I will likely give my bottle to my husband. It is very rich and reminds me of Midnight in Paris which has been sadly discontinued and is one of his favorite scents. Love this perfume.

ecaeris

eh yani bir tık unisex ama o vanilya... vanilya tüm oyunu değiştiriyor ve az kalsın sıkıcı mineral ağırlıklı olacak bu parfümü şahlandırıyor. keşke bu parfümle evlenebilsem

Kenz Karim

My all time favorite, ADDICTIVE!!
Now layer it with BR540, you’re welcome. 🔥🔥🔥

astralmonad870

I've been looking for a solid tonka bean and almond perfume for a while and blind-bought this from LookIncredible. I prefer this smoother purer version to Tom Ford's F*cking Fabulous which has lavender and leather. This is a good addition to my amber collection featuring Oajan, Kensington Amber, Grand Soir, and Tiger by Her Side so I'm all set for the Fall. I had a chance to get Bois d'Iris instead but someone described it as a butterscotch iris which sounded unpleasant to me.
People are comparing this to Commodity Milk Expressive but that one had a weird saliva-like body odor stink to the marshmallow that isn’t present here at all, I'm pleased to say! 😊 When I first sprayed it out of the parcel the strange plastic smell someone else described of the base oil and alcohol not being mixed together properly pervaded the smell and I was disappointed. But I let it settle for a day and now it is smelling gorgeous and performing with a longevity of 4-5 hours which is great! So I'll revise my rating to say it's an 8/10.

tmonique11

This is my holy grail vanilla. It's so cozy but still feels elegant and rich. I layered this today with a HEALTHY base of Kilian's Forbidden Games and it is absolutely divine!

achromaphile

I blind bought this, expecting it to be a very edible smelling delicious gourmand fragrance. It turned out smelling exactly like Giorgio Armani Stronger with you EdP, it also reminds me of the Givenchy Gentleman EdP... Which is not bad persé, but it just didn't meet my expectations. I'm a little bit disappointed but also lowkey pleasantly surprised, I definitely don't recommend blind buying this based off the notes listed here, it might not be what you'd expect.

lmnsvgz

Very likeable. One of the most mainstream Van Cleef scents. It is really wearable, fall scent. Sweet vanilla.

LSAUG

My husband and I smell this fragrance differently. He smells a desert I smell a woody tobacco w/ vanilla undertones. I find this leans a bit masculine he thinks it is feminine. Weird. If you like woody vanilla tobacco perfumes this is a good one. Good longevity and projection. Sweet but not too sweet IMO.

Edit 7/12/23 As I examined this fragrance a bit more, I do get the mineral notes here and I usually hate those in perfume but here they are done in a very subtle way. It gives the perfume the smell of grey stones, gently hovering in the background. If you have ever picked up dry stones outside to toss in a pond you know what smell I am talking about. My husband does not pick up any of that. He just gets a warm vanilla w/ tobacco. I get stones, vanilla, tobacco w/ woody notes, teak especially. I gave the decant (that was kindly given to me by a fellow fragrantican) to him and he will wear this perfume this winter. It is a winter scent in both our opinions. Unisex for sure but I would enjoy this more on a man but that is just my personal preference. My husband now agrees that it is unisex and that he can wear it but it does hit his sweet limit for himself. This perfume would work equally well on a woman.

Hartsy3

Gosh what a gorgeous smell! At first spray it is a beautiful spicy, complex woodsy fragrance. It may lean a bit masculine for some, especially at first. However, as it dries, this softens up in such a delicate and lovely way. Hints of vanilla and cinnamon come through and it takes on a gourmand persona. Like snickerdoodle cookies. However, it still maintains a more "clean" aroma, and is not overly gourmand. I don't want to eat it per se, but I do keep sniffing myself and it's heavenly!

Pernillaw

The thing is - i don´t LOVE the smell but something with it makes me bury my nose where i sprayed it. Very sexy in a musky kind of way.

Freshskin

I find this a masculine scent. It has a bit of a sweet vanilla undertone. It’s sophisticated, full sex appeal and also perfect for the alpha man. I usually go for more feminine type of scents, so I wouldn’t purchase this for myself, but I would love this on a man.
It’s not a screaming scent, its there, but it whispers around you. You’ll definitely smell it when the person wearing this moves around. Perfect for an intimate setting. Nice for date night, but also perfect in formal settings, like business meetings (subtle leadership vibes) preferably in cold weather.

jjluvsm9

A very smooth yet cold creamy take on vanilla. Definitely unisex - kind of smells like shaving cream. Not sweet. Performance leaves much to be desired - lasted only two hours on me then disappeared entirely. I like it, don’t love it.

melimelo87

This is almond amd vanilla heaven with woody notes. Very addictive, cozy and inviting. I can see why some peoplw compare it to Rouge Smokong by BDK, it has the same powdery, cherry like buble, but they go in different directions. I get a decent amount of longevity with this one and a moderate projection on skin. This is a gem from this house, well-blended and worth the price tag. For me it is FBW!

ohsnapamb

I had this and BDK Velvet Tonka both in my collection at one point. They are pretty similar with the main notes I pick out as Tonka bean, vanilla and almond in both. I just felt Velvet Tonka went in a powdery sweeter direction and appreciated the smoothness more of Bois Dore. I ended up decluttering Velvet Tonka and keeping this one. I’m so glad I did. I’m wearing it tonight and it’s such a warm and comforting scent. I paired it with the Pistache body cream found on Amazon and I’m in heaven.

ava96

Initially this has a very plasticky smell on my skin, not sure if it's the mineral notes with the tobacco or something else. It does settle into a pleasant fragrance, but in the background that plasticky thing continues and I can't say that I like it, I wish it wasn't there.

AslaugIceland

Very unisex..I am a woman and my 19 year old son fell in love eith this scent so I ordered another bottle gor him. It last modered on me but longer on him same sillage on us both about 3 feet inside but outside then wind will make people walking 7 feet+ behind you smell it and you get a wiff of it. Love this one :)

Loui81

Please read this: I value my perfume collection very much, but some of the perfumes are missing the cap - so if you have emptied your perfume, I will be very happy and grateful if I can ask for your cap (size 75 ml)
Please send me a PM - Thank you.

Celestya

A warm fragrance, perfect for winter. Unisex, I can smell tonka, vanilla and almond. I do not have any problem with the silage and longevity: they are very correct with my skin. Cocooning and Netflix style!

For me, it is very different of BDK's Rouge Smoking or Lira.

LALDN

Almond vanilla and musk scent. It’s really lovely. Soft but still very present. I can tell it’s a quiet beast. This is also the type of fragrance that’s so pleasant, I can’t imagine someone hating it.

Reminds me of Velvet Tonka by BDK except I prefer this composition more. Less playdough and a softer almond scent.

Stefanclique

This may have been something at one time, but my 2022 batch is literally nothing. Four sprays, from a terrible atomizer that soaks you in a wet puddle, disappears literally within 10 minutes. Spraying on clothes results in the same, about 10 minutes before you have to press it to your nose to smell anything. Super disappointing and a complete waste of money even at a discounter for $90. The actual scent is quite nice but is so fleeting, so weak it really just makes you question why this is still being produced. This is my fourth from the COLLECTION EXTRAORDINAIRE, all lacking in performance but BOUS D'AMANDE and AMBRE IMPERIAL at least being marginally acceptable. Overall, this was my most disappointing purchase of 2022, and most certainly will be passing this on ASAP.

Shaina87

Meh. It's just ok. It almost smells just like Commodity Milk expressive on me. I didn't love that one either.

j4yt33

Can't smell it on my skin at all

amanda0727

If BDK's Rouge Smoking and Jo Malone's Myrrh & Tonka had a baby, this is what you get. I love it but yeah like everyone said, its so light the scent is barely noticeable. You can easily do 10 sprays and still smell nothing.

Update: Ughh i think i am addicted. Need backup bottles.
Update2: Brand new out the box, the scent was very weak. After over 3 weeks of macerating, this thing is a beast.
Update3: Decluttered as i found it too similar to Rouge Smoking which i already own.

BG92

Amazing scent, creamy&woody almond and tonka. It smells just great, nothing generic.

But I agree with the comments about poor longevity and no sillage. Shame as it smells amazing - if you like intimate perfumes go for it as the smell is unique. However I won't repurchase.

Molko

I don't know the original Bois Doré, but I ordered a bottle from Shobi (alternative perfume) inspired this perfume. The Shobi's Bois Dore is alike Eau des Baux which I used earlier. I surprised, I bought shobi's Bois Dore because of the Prada LR Black comparision, but this juice is way different, smells warm and cuddly, very spicy sweet vanilla-tobacco, more like a cold wheather perfume. I have 4 bottles from LR Black, so I can't feel the similarity at all. Overall I really like the smell, perfect for Christmas time :)
update: Today I sprayed on my wrist and I guess why people feels similar to LR Black, but I can feel more vanilla and sweetness in BD. Black is fresh spicy powdery, not as warm and sweet like a christmas cookie or tobacco.

Annkarih

I own both this one and lira.. they are pretty similar. The only difference is that lira is quite sharper, and has a licorice / anis note and its a bit sweeter.

derby2169

The silky powdery heliotropin vanilla of Orchidee Vanille with a charred wood feel in the base and pepper as a top note, as if a drop of Eau des Baux was added to the blend. Subtle but luxurious. Long lasting but intimate.
A bit too chewy gourmand in the certain phases for me personally, but solid nonetheless.

Hum_C

Is it just me or this fragrance has non-existing projection?? Such a shame because it is a beautiful woody vanilla but I can barely smell it unless my nose is like 1cm apart from the sprayed area 🙃🙃 I find it a recurring problem with Van Cleef & Arpel perfumes, at least the ones I have...

miles178

lovely, smooth and pleasant suede/leather/almond for a fall/winter times - office friendly, that´s what i need!

StopHammertime

I liked this one a lot, but it reminds me of a lighter version of Orchidee Vanille. Would be a great everyday scent.

clintjr82

Smells great. Vanilla and woods in the best possible way. Smooth and pleasant. No harshness or muddle notes from the Tobacco like most tobacco based fragrances.Perfectly balanced for a man or woman. I will be buying a bottle.

lanabroz

Perfection in a bottle!

This is the most perfect vanilla scent ever. Not only to my nose, but nobody who tested it stated differently.
It's a perfect unisex, neither on feminine or masculine side. It's very elegant, cosy, warm, nostalgic, comforting. Vanilla woodsy lovers, this can be a total blind buy for you and you won't regret.

I'm in LOVE with it. But, some things we love and yet we have to let go of :))) I won't buy this beauty ever again cause it's longevity and projection are the worst I ever had. And it's so so so sad and frustrating. It puts me in such a great mood for one hour and in such frustration after it fades away.

When you think of someone who's always perfectly prepped up, groomed and put together then you imagine them smelling like this.

Ilikewhatilike

It’s unique vanilla that surprised me, which in itself is noteworthy as I like discovering new accords. The uniqueness sets up an opportunity to love / hate it, which I think is what niche should be. It’s like a joke, half of the audience should be falling off their chairs in laughter, and the other half should be disgusted. Sometimes it takes a while to work out if it’s love or hate, and I’m still in this phase. Tobacco vanilla with a metallic shine and almond essence. I enjoyed me wearing with curiosity, not comfort. It smells regal and expensive.

Edit: yes it’s too interesting. I like it.

chubbykami

this perfume is amazing, totally different from my other vanilla scents, it blended really well with the metallic note which I wasn't expected would come out to be such a good combination but it did surprise me, somehow this perfume reminds me of a winter afternoon on a busy street and suddenly you smell this from the pedestrians passing by and it hits you hard, so soothing and cozy
I will give this perfume 8.5/10, minus 1.5 since the longevity is disappointing, only around 2-3 hours on my skin, I was expecting much more from the brand and also the perfume itself, but welp, nothing is perfect 100%

Morex1983

I love this fragrance so much it’s is the best one out of all the van cleef fragrances. It projects and it’s such a crowd pleasing one too. I am so addicted to it, I also mix it with initio psychedelic love and I get this beautiful creamy almond vanilla beauty. It’s cosy and perfect for this autumn weather.
Sillage 10/10
Smell 10/10
Projection 7/10
Price 5/10

Cloelles

Masculine sensual scent. Woody vanilla creamy. Reminds me of Calvin Klein Be which is fraction of the price and a great hidden gem!

IAmStaka

I really like this. Wish it performed better though.

Also it has nothing to do with Prada Black or Midnight in Paris. Not even close.

amyaz

Yes! Definitely agree with hannah.bonello! I smelled this at first and was like "omg this IS GOOD and so comforting" but for some reason my brain didn't connect it to Rouge Smoking until I read that. Definitely smells close enough where if you have one you don't need the other!

iszzieanna

A diet version of Tobacco Vanille and Rouge Smoking. On its own, the opening of Bois Doré is lovely. It’s peppery and woodsy. It’s a cold spice scent. Then, the almond and vanilla appear and create a soft and cozy trail. This is very nice. However the almond gets a little too synthetic, leaning towards the powdery, fake tonka side. The fragrance is also very very soft in projection. However I’m wondering if it’s redundant to have

Kinga_

Pepper+baby powder+a trifle of sour cherry (at least that's how it smells to me)

Not horrible, but stuffy, and I wouldn't buy them, nor like anyone to wear them beside me.
One of this perfume that get annoying after wearing them for longer than 10 min
I'm giving them 5/10 as they are elegant.

yacoco

I will say its mix of bvlgari black the round 1 with spiceboom 2012 you get this fragrance
For me I find very lovely but very cheap
It's very sweet for me
Any how I will say nothing unique the vanilla note and tonk it very strong
I give it 6.5/10
Sorry

Ricka

Love love love
Not long lasting enough I'm afraid..
After an hour it becomes almost too simple and I always feel like maybe I should have layering it with something but I never do.
Great signature for winter, reminds me alot of Velvet Teddy from MAC which discontinued.

Pusteblumchen

Beautiful fragrance.
Strong, perhaps not for everyone.
Opens fiery spicy and warm.
Dries down powderly and very softly.
Sticks to clothing but funnily not so strongly like the Oud from the house.

Psycgradof07

Gorgeous. No other word I could use to describe this one. It’s pretty low-moderate projection wise, but it’s so gorgeous that I don’t even care. Normally I’m drawn toward the heavier projecting fragrances too. Like many, I didn’t know what to expect given the mineral note. It blends in so well and just adds to the beauty of this fragrance. Relaxing, calming, and I don’t feel you can go wrong with this one. Don’t think many will dislike it.

AryanasPerfumes

I blind bought this based on how hyped it is on youtube and the vanilla ice cream reviews and all I get is the metallic smell from a spoon you scoop out ice cream with maybe + pencil shavings. That metallic note though makes it so nasty to me that I have to go scrub it off. I smell no sweetness in this one, none, zero, and no creaminess either, it’ just sharp ,woodsy, metallic.

That is my Second comment on this frag shortly after and I suggest it says alot.
Where to start from.
For girls that frag is soo different than all those designer scents of all kinds regardless of the House. So Regal. Yes that is the word. I could delete those two excessively long comments and just type Regal. Regal. I could not imagine time, event, place where this one would be inappropriate. I agree, an easily signature scent and quite worthy.
Yes, it lacks longetivity but that is the essence and magic is not forever. It dilutes.
Unisex but more feminine in spite of the definite masculine accords. For males this is a good sex scent where you have very close skin contact and magic could develop at exact level. However, it is not projecting enough for the male chemistry in the public life. And maybe it is a bit too desserty for them.
Delicate alteration of different feelings and aromas appear through the wear time, conditions and bearer.
Soft contrast!? Is this ppssible?
I do not have considerable knowledge on scents but so far that one distinguish.

Arber Cami

Sweet almond, woody notes and with mineral notes in the background. The dry down is powdery sweet, a little lactonic. Really really nice scent. Has some I said SOME similarities to "Midnight in Paris" by the same house but sweeter, its not the same but has hints of it.

Looking for a new frag for my man and a sub for his Guerlain Homme Ideal L'Intense original opaque black bottle, the store lady recommended this one. I confess I liked it for myself. In spite of the slight resemblance in the pyramid this one leans more feminine.
After couple of test sprays I returned home where my toddler had a nap in my hands. It's been 30 hrs since then and his cute head still smells like Bois Dore. However, longetivity on my skin was not that great. It was even poor - max 4 hrs. Walking with this frag outside under the soft windy sun was also very pleasant.
That was somehow sn impulse purchase and I confess that name also influenced me. My fav season has always been the Golden Fall and my son happened to appear under the autumn leaves. So I have taken Bois Dore as a good sign.🍂🧡

kristamb

First thing this reminded me of was BDK's Rouge Smoking perfume minus cherry. By no means a dupe, but the same class of scent--also they both have similar scent profiles. Bois Doré also reminds me a bit of a smoother, softer Myrr & Tonka from Jo Malone....Bois Doré is a smooth, sweet tobacco with descent longevity. It offers lingering, dry base notes that create that aura of scent from my skin, where its there, but not overbearing either. I'm not sure if this one's a FB need for me, but I think I will try wearing Bois Doré on one wrist, and Rouge Smoking on the other to try and determine which suits me best. These are both on my wish list, but not sure I need to splurge on a FB of both!?

TaniaClamp

Bois Doré is an almondy, tobacco, vanilla scent of GORGEOUSness!!🤩🤩🤩 Smells like vanilla icecream, the kind you get in a ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ restaurang.... mixed with som fresh tobacco. It's also sliiiiightly salty thanks to those mineral notes in the fragrance.

For me this is one of the best from the house of Jo Malone, there are a few moore but this one..... Oh my, soooo yummy !!

Can't imagine not having it in my collection!

IdoBasson

Smells like a dessert.

likesleet

spices from pepper & tobacco. woody & it also smelled fruity (from the tobacco?)

chlorodream

I’m obsessed.

A bit of backstory: Luna Rossa Black was the perfume that I saved for the love of my life. I couldn’t wear it myself - it was too masculine. But I adored it. On my first anniversary with my current (and hopefully last ever, because I’m head over heels for him) boyfriend, I bought him a bottle. I’ve not regretted that decision once.

There’s something - SOMETHING - about this (the tonka, of course) that heralds LRB, but this is totally unisex.
Cool woods. Warm, lightly almondy, lightly tobaccoed vanilla - never veering into gourmand. A hint of black pepper over the top - no sneezing here though. Deep, quality tonka. A little cosy musk on the drydown.

It’s not feminine, it’s not overtly masculine. There’s a hint of both, rather than being between the two. This is the LRB that women can wear too. Finally I’ve found one. I will be buying a full bottle when I can afford it, and this tester will be treasured and likely bought again.

I’m not sure if it’s going to be my signature or not as of yet, but I am IN LOVE with it, it’s going straight into my favourites. It’s certainly signature worthy.

rednose

It's a creamy classy vanilla. I'd be disappointed if I had blind bought this instead of testing it because from the notes, the rating, as well as the price tag, I'd imagine getting a peculiarly alluring vanilla tobacco accord, but that's not at all what you get. I don't get any tobacco. The best way to describe this is a very light and airy Celine Fever with a hint of citrus. As much as I love the creamy accord of tonka, almond and vanilla, personally, I wouldn't pay this much for it. But still buy it if you, or who you're gifting it to is a Kelly somewhere in America where low projection and sillage are the usual and you're all about intimate scents that sit close to the skin, especially on nights out in a setting where it's been silently agreed upon not to "offend" people with your perfume in that very American way. Wear this in the Middle East and you'll hardly smell like anything unless you're rubbing up against someone's nose.
---
3 hours and all you get in the dry down is a faint trace of fragrance similar to ShanghaiJava Blue Orchid

AlaskanAngel

My absolute favorite from this house. Cool, woodsy, semisweet, understated. Smooth from start to end of day. Excellent blend. Not actually gourmand on me as a mineral accord runs through the woody base and keeps it clean. Just enough vanilla tabacco to be enticing. I find only very mild pepper so it's an easy wear throughout the seasons (not so spicy that it leans into winter). No dreaded patchouli! Perfectly unisex if you are into woods. Only projects about arms length and that's my preference. Safe for work but also unique. Could easily be a signature scent.

spotspot

I bought a full bottle after searching for a vanilla fragrance that wasn't too sweet. This one seemed to fit the bill, but later I did find that the almond note was too enduring for my taste. I still wear it, but I layer it with Arquiste's The Architects Club, which adds a drier, woodsy element. It's OK, and a pleasant, cozy perfume, but I never put it on and feel wowed.

gendabenda

swapping a bottle of this with original box. DM me. almost full. UK only.

5xSecrets!

Simply gorgeous!

Bois doré is a mix of warm and cold, sweet and dry. I get the notes listed, vanilla, pepper, tonka, tobacco etc. perfectly blended into a beautiful comforting, yet not warming or cozy fragrance. Woods with some musk becomes more prominent longer into the wear-time. I really, really like this stuff.

There's something nostalgic about bois doré, it feels like something I've smelled in my childhood, yet I can't pinpoint exactly what it is. It might be scented plastic toys ("dolls head") or sticking your head into a makeup bag, but in the best kind of way I suppose. Bois dore doesn't remind me of any food. I guess it could be the fragrance contains heliotropin. In any case, this is a thumbs up for me.

drinkuptjaden

I loveeeeee this so much. It’s a perfect vanilla scent for a man. When it dries down for a few hours on my skin some of the woodiness subsides but the vanilla/Tonka remains 😃

Taniko

That's my 3rd fragrance from Van Cleef & Arpels. They do an amazing job.
I love Bois Dore with his smoky vanilla mix. It's so sexy. Sometimes I layer with Orchidee Vanille and they work amazingly together. Love Love Love. You have to like unisex perfumes as the tobacco can be to much for you in this.

Mina Fouad

Recently I wear it in the hot weather.. it's wow .. nothing else..

Amberwood47

Ok for the Prada Luna Rossa black side but only at the opening. (Musk/Pepper).
From mid to dry it's Fat Electrician's Free State orange. Well almost.. Take Fat Electrician, strongly dilute the vetiver and its smoky side and add a big dose of whipped cream or vanilla ice cream.. Call it what you want but it's a bit like that. Also found in this creamy mixture a little teak with tonka, or I would say a sandalwood to my nose. It's pretty well done but I must admit that I really expected something else. Especially since I'm not a fan of F.E

MGS_1

Similar to prada luna rosa sport not for me

CarolLovesPerfumes

Probably one of my most unique fragrances, wasn't an immediate love, but I can't imagine not having it in my collection! Such a comforting scent.

the_enigmatic_oblong

I absolutely adore this fragrance. When I first tried it at the shop it didn’t really catch my nose but I picked few Van Cleef’s that day and this was my partners choice. After I tried it I was immediately in love. It’s a beautiful and elegant fragrance perfect for a romantic night out. I will be stocking up on this as my signature.

Marcnsabo

Smells so unique and delicious, my next buy😍😍😍😍😍

faevert42

Black pepper, vanilla, tonka, cedar... I adore this fragrance. It is a more classy version of Myrrh&Tonka with an intoxicating, but smooth sillage. Has a tiny bit of that plastic doll scent that people are crazy about. I will always have this in my collection.

coldvanilla

This perfume is one of the most my favorite. I found that layering "Tonka" from Solinotes and "Heliotrope Blanc" from L.T. Piver creates similar scents to this fragrance.

hsiangchi.huang

Pepper, tobacco, vanilla, tonka beans... caramel spice latte in a bottle! I didn't get the mineral notes so I don't get the "cold" vibe. To me, it's more of a warm scent and perfect for fall/warm. The tobacco is glazed with amber, sharp and dry. The vanilla is not overly sweet, but it perfectly balances out the other smokey/woody notes, gives it a caramel kinda of vibe.

It smells very familiar... By the Fireplace? No, not quite. Then I realized it's Noir Exquis!! They're 90% similar, especially in the drydown. However, Noir Exquis is more projecting and long lasting.

I've also compared it to Bois D'amande side-by-side, which is a very different scent profile. Bois Dore is your sexy/spicy/alluring/intense fragrance, but Bois D'amande is more mellow/green/simple.

poppyetpear

For me, this smells so warm and comforting and sweet like fresh earl grey tea and dried licorice root. I don't know how I'm getting that, but it's a yes for me.

shokravee

10/10 love the stuff, it gives off a plasticy vibe which lasts for a long time, other than that, it's a nutty powdery (almond/tonka; not baby powder) vanilla that's a bit boozy. i don't personally pick out the tobacco note, but it's kind of salty. the projection is very mild, but it lasts a long time.

LuckyDay27

The sweet note (tonka) smells like baby spit up and not enjoying the metallic mineral note either. This one is not for me.

Ksj_

My beloved scent profile. Smells like Bvlgari black, Midnight in Paris, and Prada Black.

Absolutely stunning.

zebra782

Like a warm cup of vanilla infused almond milk, addictively delicious.

AubreeRichelle

I do not understand the hype around this fragrance at all. I love vanilla perfumes, and this is a unique vanilla. There is no warmth in this scent at all, it is a cold vanilla with very mild sweetness. This is perfectly Unisex, however this is not my vibe. When I wear vanilla I want to smell sweet and warm and comforting, but this has none of those characteristics. Honestly I feel like the best way I can describe this scent is as a bitchy vanilla.

ripjean

Very nice scent that can be found discounted. I agree that this is a posher Prada Black, but both have a place in my collection.

@Presscious - my bottle of Bois Dore with about 5 sprays missing weighs 322g (with cap).

Kylix

A very faint Myrrh & Tonka, for me. Also Le Bain Joop. Not a fan

Pariscat27

I love this! To me it smells like a softer, more unisex version of Herod by PDM.

Presscious

Got it today and it smells amazing, woody, tabacco, vanilla, sweet and warm! But I got it from a swap and can't determine the quantity left 🥺 Anybody know how much the full or empty bottle of this/or any VCA scents/ weights? Pls help me!

MissIvy

A real stunner this one. The mineral note gives it a cold quality, making this smell a lot like a vanilla chai milkshake with lots of spicy pepper. Which is how I like my chai tea. Lots of pepper. I think it is the tobacco that is giving me the chai vibe. It is delicous is what it is. Although, I could see people getting a scented candle vibe and not loving that. Me personally, I want to bath in this stuff. Wish it projected more and lasted longer, as it is very unique and could easily be in my top 10. I got about 5-6 hours of wear, and my husband picked up the scent within 10-15 inches of me and across the room when the breeze from the open window caught it. A nice little scent bubble. It for certain wears better than other Van Cleef & Arpels scents I have tried. Amazing little gem.

WendyMH

Tonka-centric on my skin for first hour. Vanilla-sweet and deep wood-y. Very pretty and more-ish.

In the dry down, the almond note has come further forward. Yumminess rising. A little powdery feel to it.

My brain flickers between loving this as a soft, elegant scent ... and then images of the powder-scented plastic which babydolls were once made of. Will spend a few more days deciding which of these flickers takes precedence.

Sweetasgodiva

Based on my first fragrance from Van Cleef Orchidee Vanille and reviews I thought I would just be gobsmacked, but alas no. I thought I get that vanilla bomb with a chocolate swirl. A gourmand with the fantastic projection of my first boyfriend OV. I am impressed with the burgeoning perfume conisuire that is emerging—it will take years and thousands of dollars but I do not care. Love this site because I’ve learned so many things, especially letting a fragrance sit. Blind buyer because I am impractical and impatient, so be it I love perfume!

jg341

Mineral note is quite prominent on me within the first 30 min or so. It reminds me of the smell of graphite, lending that cold quality people have mentioned. However, I start to smell the vanilla and almond quite prominently once the top note fades and then the scent becomes quite warm on me. If I were to be out in company, I’d probably start spritzing it about an hour beforehand just for creamy warmth to really come through. To me, this smells unisex but I am drawn to more feminine fragrances in general. Really love it on a cold day!

kikiena01

Hmmmm! So I was expecting a very sweet woody vanilla fragrance. But on me it surprisingly smells almost... molecular? The woods are there yet are very bright (could be the pepper), soft and effervescent. I actually immediately thought of Molecule 01, the background smells identical + some slight vanillic/tonka bean sweetness. Nice, but very light and intimate (which I actually don't mind at all).

GREETINGS FROM THE CZECH REPUBLIC! :-)

Shammy275

I absolutely adore this one. The combination of tonka bean and vanilla is as heavenly as it usually is and the pepper, tobacco and woods just round this out so beautifully. I’ve never smelled a fragrance with mineral notes before and they really give this a cold quality that I just love, like a vanilla milkshake. This is totally unisex, I love this on myself and I think I’d love it equally if not more on a man.

Cheserae

I was really nervous about this one. Because of the black pepper and mineral notes, bot boooyyyyy lemme tell yall!!! This got me chased down in the store. I had people stopping me and asking me what I had on. I do get a nice longevity from this, But I do overspray, and I spray all over my clothes and jacket lol. It's totally unisex to my nose.

RichieRich

This is such a sophisticated fragrance. Sweet almondy, tonka bomb. Its one of those mouthwatering scents. Amazing for date nights and special occasions. Grab it immediately if your thing is sweet fragrances. Longevity is a good 9 hours, projection about 2 hours. Prada Luna Rossa Black smells like the cheaper cousin of this, the quality is not comparable. If you have the money, get Bois Dore. The best fragrance that Van Cleef & Arpels has to offer, and one of the best ever made.

Bottle is form 2019
Overall rating 10/10

LilyRose1

I love this so so so much. This blooms in colder months for sure. To me this is almond/vanilla/tobacco that’s sweet, a bit powdery but also creamy at the same time. It’s a tiny bit woody with some musk. It’s not super sweet if you’re not a fan of that but it is a little bit sweet for sure. On me this projects good and it lasts long, especially on clothes. The more I wear it the more I love it but it was love at first sniff. I can’t get enough of this. It’s a cosy scent that I love to wear to bed or when I know I’m going to just chill or cuddle with someone and want to smell a tiny bit edible. Not edible in a cupcake kind of way but just appetizing if that makes sense. I would love to sniff this on a man, and would probably die if I did since I love it so much, but I really enjoy wearing it myself. I will 100% repurchase this scent.

Mira J

Beautiful Woody vanilla. The mineral note makes this very intriguing and a stand out. Not too sweet. Wonderfully blended. I strongly like this but can tell it will be a love during the cooler seasons

ingeneuxo

-Weird blend.
-Fluffy Teddy? Tough Punk? It seems like it can't make up its mind which it aspires toward.
-I get fluffiness from the tonka bean, yet ghost notes of leather from this. (-)

Wiktoriaaaz

JUST ORDERED, my first niche purchase!! Really excited, I am hoping this is vanilla, tobacco, almond heaven.. we shall see..

Ooohhh shiiiiit. This is so refined.. oh no… now I’m gonna want to try the others from V&A 😒. I get the vanilla, tobacco and… mineral notes?! How can I actually detect that. It is so interesting. This is smooth, creamy, soft. Not overly sweet, this would be insane on a man. Even sexier on women though!! So unique. I don’t smell any pepper at all so far, it’s definitely hiding. I can very slightly smell the almond, also rather woody! This is just beautifully blended. I love it.

For an extra vanilla kick I love to layer with montale vanille absolu. Incredible combo, takes it to that feminine level. Ps. Longevity is great, however, the projection is more intimate, but for this fragrance it totally works. I feel this would get nauseating otherwise!

Ella7712

Sweet woody-vanilla-almond-tonka-yumminess!! 🥰 Addictive and intoxicating, I can't stop sniffing my arm when I wear it! Perfect for fall/winter. VC&A has become one of my favourite houses, they make really high quality perfumes.

Heidipeidi

My mom, 76 years of age, wears this and gets compliments at the supermarket. I love it too!

DeliciousSmells

Awesome vanilla scent without the syrupy sweetness that most vanilla scents have. It’s a dry vanilla with some spice and woods and a milky sweetness. I love this, it’s one of the best vanilla perfumes I have come across. It does lean totally unisex in my opinion, but is not overly masculine either. Straight up vanilla and for anyone that loves vanilla scent - this is a must try.

MaiSuwinai

This fragrance is absolutely beautiful. Warm, comforting vanilla, almond and the soft tobacco that adds a sexiness too it.
In the opening I get a lot of cinnamon that instantly reminds me of Angels share, but less sweet and no boozy like AS. After a while it becomes powdery and the tonka and vanilla takes over and no more cinnamon. The dry down really reminds me of
Myrrh and Tonka from Jo Malone, but more sophisticated and less sweet which I believe comes from the woody / tobacco notes.
If you enjoy the two scents I mentioned above you’ll love this!

Longevity 8/10

ScentFan2021

Smells nice! Has a kick to it that I like. Initially, it is (I think) the same level of "kick" that is in BR 540 Extrait, but then it dies out. That's OK, though, because it's still a very pretty smell.

Could be unisex, but I think it is definitely more feminine.

chandanlove02

Like a glass of cold vanilla milkshake. Beautifully blended tonka, cedar and musk. The tobacco is faint on my skin but what stands out is the mineral note which actually works wonderfully well in this fragrance. Great for a humid summer night as it envelops you in a cool cloud of mesmerizing scent bubble. Love it! So unique 10/10

c0rtland

Bois Dore is going to give you a blast of perfumers alcohol up top lavishing you with quality. Transitioning to a heart of bland Amber Woods molecules. Resting on a bed of synthetic Coumarin. Vanilla?

temporal

A round composition with leading soft vanilla, almonds and powder. It is not plain, not candy-like sweet, not heavy, it is breathing, gives an abstract fruity feeling. Vanilla is embraced so nicely here. This fragrance is feminine in the most beautiful way. For vanilla lovers, good both for home and for a day-evening cocktail (vanilla grows and becomes stronger through the development). I would never expect this round soft feeling from the listed notes, worth trying for sure.

Gres

I got it as a gift and i really loved it! Smells totally like vanilla on my skin feels like elegant and classy probably the strong notes give that unisex feeling because my husband like it as well 😉

parfum arthur

Milky liquid tonka bean goodness trapped in a bottle. I love to wear this in the spring/summer time when it’s warm, never cloying. In the winter, this transforms into a sharp and bitterly almond on my skin. How unusual.

Longevity is great but projection is low and sits closely on my skin but that’s ok, not all perfumes need to be loud.

happytrip

Divine creamy woods and balmy vanilla. This was love at first spray, which almost never happens to me. So so good.
Perfectly unisex too as the vanilla notes are not overpowering. I had to buy it immediately as couldn’t be without.

poppyetpear

This smells very nice. It's like earl grey tea with cinnamon and cream. I ordered a sample, but I don't love this enough right now to justify paying hundos for a bottle.

Liene

Bitter and milky almond opening with amazing pepper tingle, aromatic tobacco and some vanilla sweetness. Bois Doré radiates tamed and cozy sweetness, while on the skin some coumarin and musk gives it the murky depth. Beautiful indeed for two hours or so. Then it gets rather linear, sweet vanilla scent with some almondy and woody facets, which is cozy and snuggly. Not commonplace, which is nice, however for my liking the drydown has too much vanilla.

Seems the most appropriate for colder weather, when daylight is coming back (mid-January to end of March daytime in Northern Europe), but then again rather universal and could work in different temperatures and climates. Unisex. Great staying power. Fills the room nearby, however the sillage is soft and light in its character; definitely not a suffocating scent. Well balanced and pleasant.

Belovedme

Great substitute for F.Fabulous, smells sexy and deep but with weak sillage. I would describe it as a sexy innovative scent that stays close to the skin and doesn't bother others. Yes, you will have to reapply it throughout a day otherwise no trace of this juice at all. I love it regardless its performance.

amazoo122

first few minutes smell like metallic rocks withe vanilla then it turns really nice.

CheesyGarlicBread

Delicious and cozy. First spray is elegant. It's a sort of noir "light" for lack of a better description in terms of complexity. It dries down into a very nutty gourmand on my skin with a black pepper topper that sets this apart from a vanilla gourmand. This is written up as a "woody amber" but I only detected amber before the dry down. I can already tell this has better longevity than Orchidee Vanille.

cathrinejohanne91

This one reminds me of the smell of a tanning salon! To me it’s a salty, fresh, sweet creamy scent! And I smell cinnamon in this as well. In my opinion this one is as good in the summer as it is in the winter months. The longevity is weak, I get 3 hours with it. And the sillage is moderate, it depends on how much you apply. I absolutely love this scent!

Vickalicious

This fragrance was a complete scrubber for me. It started out with a nice vanilla, similar to the vanilla I get in Spicebomb, but there was also a terrible synthetic musk note (similar to the musk that Mancera/Montale often uses, but not as bad). I tried to wait out Bois Dore, but I had to wash it off about 15 minutes. I see above that it's compared to Midnight in Paris...I absolutely disagree. There is nothing overly synthetic or sharp about MiP like there is with Bois Dore.

scentofbuket

I felt that I am obliged to leave a review for this beauty...

When I first went to the store and try this, I accidentially took Bois D'amande, and fell in love with it immediately. Since then I have forgotten about Bois Dore, until last week, when I was strolling in the mall and a sales assistant approached me to try one of Van Cleef fragrances. I chose this one, and fell in love immediately! I am not yet sure, which one I am in love most (Bois Amande or Dore?) but needles to say I have bottles of both already.

So, Bois Dore is for me a bit citrusy, woody amazing warm vanilla. When you put it on, it cuddles you all over, like a nice fluffy fragrant cloud is circling around you. I don't get any almond or a tobacco note, but a citrus -although it's not listed as a note-

Strangely enough, I feel that I can wear this four seasons, even in summer, when it's not sweatingly hot. Also, it's such a perfect unisex scent that I think my husband can pull this off beautifully as well.

Katryna G

Best I can describe this fragrance is white creamy almond nougat and Karelias tobacco on a wooden table. It has noticable bitter almond which is reminiscent of cherries. What I also pick up is a note of lavander. Does anyone else get that? Incredibly creamy and inviting. It is slightly powdery and has just right amount of sweetness to be elegant.

Would be great choice for special events but I will use it for date nights for sure because it's not in-your-face overpowering but it is sexy and sophisticated. And I think it is original. 100% unisex in a best possible way meaning it doesn't have associations with genders at all. Just anyone who wants to wear it will smell alluring and amazing.

sarahhermann

to keep it short .. this perfume smells unique sexy everything u dream of in a bottle basically. its not 2 strong like sweet sugary headache fragrance.. and it gives u a strong , mysterious , dark and sexy vibe . i got alot of compliments specially from man ..bois dore is my signature fragrance right now and i dont think i will change it .. just love it !
rate 10/10 !!!!

miryamd89

I am in love!!! This smells like a woody cupcake on me with a slight metallic tinge to it! It is very sweet and feminine on me. The only issue I have is that I have to spray quite a bit of it to smell it on myself. Otherwise I love it!! Go order a sample or decant to try it right now!! It’s so goooooooood!!!

dearaari

This is the only exception to my perfume collection of something I hated and grew to love. It was nothing what I expected it to be. This is 100% unisex, definitely a far cry from my florals. When I first smelt it I immediately said OH NO. This smells like cold concrete. I continued trying it until funnily, ( and this has never happened before) it became addictive. I’d catch myself coming over to smelling the cap again and again. My husband doesn’t like it on me unfortunately, but who cares I DO! But I find it a very comforting lounging day type perfume that’s a great alternative to fresh out of the shower ones. This is clean but smoky and creamy. Very unique but not a must have imo, but I will say that once you start liking this fragrance you will blaze through the bottle in no time. I can definitely get tobacco and tonka. No question. It’s like you’re in a hipster cafe drinking a cappuccino with a faint Smokey scent in the background.. it’s a beauty. Will use this up for sure!

EDIT: my husband has stolen my bottle. He now wears it as he’s become so fond of the scent. Admittedly he wears it better than me. But gosh, beauty! One for the collectors like us that need unique pieces. Tonka dream!

kaurg

It's a really simple fragrance, but very well executed. It's basically tonka, vanilla and a very clean powdery musk. Nothing animalic here, but there are some darker notes that I have hard time pinpointing. I don't get any woody notes, but the mineral quality is perceivable -- not salty, but alkaline. I think it contributes to a certain piercing effect that I get with this fragrance -- every now and then it cuts through in a very pleasant way.

soldier71

This. Is. Gorgeous!!!! And it is on only my opinion, just like all other comments below...opinions, we all have one, none better than the other :) What I love, you might hate :) This is not a dime a dozen beauty - not to my nose - it has depth, all notes work in harmony, none is really the diva. Sweet and creamy almond on a woody background, amber and tonka lovin' on each other. Not a true gourmand, but pretty close to one. Not huge silage, decent longevity :) Cheers

Schnupperl

I love tonka bean, one of the most beautiful notes for perfume. I have never smelled this fragrance and ordered it blind. I thought "Hey, the grades are exactly what you like, you will like them". Do I like it ? No ... I LOVE and ADORE this fragrance. A wonderful Tonka fragrance, refined with a soft note of tobacco, cedar wood and a little almond. It's sweet (but not sticky), woody, creamy, and wonderful.

ayken

Do not blind buy this!
anyway now onto my review. This is one of the weirdest scents out there for me, even weirder than tom ford's black orchid. i do not know what exactly makes this almost repulsive but smelling the paper and the cap made me disgusted but on my skin, it was very sweet and the disgusting element of this fragrance almost disappeared but did reappear from time to time and I think the minerals in this work as a metal scent. anyway, projection and sillage are amazing also it is super unique. At first, I was like why do people love it that much but it is almost impossible not to sniff your skin every second after applying it. it is that addictive. i agree with others that this does lean more towards masculine scents but after letting it sit on your skin the sweet notes come through and make it a nice balance between sweet and earthy fragrance. The almonds are on the bitter side and natural smelling. the teak and tobacco give it a very masculine feel to it along with the cedar in it, on my skin it all came together after 10-20 min. It is a dry scent, it doesn't have anything lively to it. nothing sensual, sexy, or flirty. it is just there but so pleasant in a weird way. for those who love the smell of the wet cement after a rain, it is that kind of weird but nice scent. but I must say you have to be in the mood for this to work out because at least for me it is super strong to make it an everyday scent but if you like a strong go-to scent then go for it. To be honest, id rather enjoy this on someone else than on me but still, I would want to smell like this for others, or for myself. depending on the mood I am in. I was super excited to try this one out because everyone said it is amazing and being disappointed in the cap smell I did a good job by spraying it on my skin and waiting for the magic to happen. be patient with this one, because it will probably be one of your favorite ones.

Oh so soft and beautiful. Vanilla, tonka and slight tobacco - enveloping you in a soft veil of subtle but compliment getting warmth. A stranger once asked me what I was wearing when I had chosen this from my fragrance wardrobe and she said ‘it’s so soft and beautiful.’ I have finished the bottle - a rarity for me! In my opinion this well crafted scent is excellent value for money.

I love them. Very round smell..Vanilla and pepper feels soou goodd.. . The hint of tobacco is small. Wood and spices fit perfectly. I still want to smell myself.. It's so good.. The minus surroundings from far away does not feel it...

I got it as a sample with a perfume purchase,
I am hooked to this scent as it reminds me of multiple perfumes I adore but this one collects the best of them all!
I don't know what else to say, but this is definitely my next perfume purchase!

tessture

I saw this reviewed as similar to my beloved Eau des Baux, so I had to try it. Unfortunatley, it has that damn screamy wood alcohol note I seem to get in absolutely everything anymore, but otherwise, it is as reviewed, very like Eau des Baux; a vanilla based wood with that rubbery rubbing alcohol base note. At the end of 8 hours, it’s lovely vanillic wood that I adore, with a tart note and almond hints, but it takes a long long time to get there. Not the vanilla tonka almond as others love, but definitely similar to Eau des Baux.

Collection Extraordinaire quickly became my favorite .... just smooth, soothing, round, non-offensive, warm, pleasant fragrances ... decent, yet sophisticated

This is a beauty!! This feels like an upgraded version of the Guerlain's L'Homme ideal edp, niche quality, with tonka, more woods and no cherry, i also get a herod connection.

This opens with a sweet creamy almond-vanilla-tonka combo, in the opening i find it a bit feminine but after a few minutes the tobacco, the spices and the woods come out and becomes quite masculine! This is so smooth and elegant, high quality scent, the woods are dry and the teak wood gives an animalic touch that gives a beautiful contrast with the rest of the notes! I don't quite get that mineral notes.

The performance is ok, 7+ hours longevity with moderate projection (i would love a bit more projection) and creates a beautiful bubble around you that screams class! I find it really versatile, easy to wear, any time of the year, even on summer nights! The ideal occasion to me is fall, on a date!

Overall, this is amazing! I loved it from the first sniff and i can't stop smelling my hand when i wear it. I found a great deal and i got this for 56eu. You can't beat this price! This is a niche, high quality, beautiful scent, with great presentation! If you can find it in this price and you love sweet, spicy, tobacco, tonka, almond notes, just grabbe it.. Definitely in my top 10!

nathalie87

Wow! I would call this a masterpiece. So creamy and delicious. Suits both men and women, its sexy but also cosy. Sooo round and smooth. The scent it self is not super unique but i find that the creaminess and the balance of sweet/spicy, maskuline/feminine is.

supersaiyan

On first spray, it's so soft and delicate, like the embrace of a girl in love. I could barely smell it, just a hint of warm and doughy tonka bean embracing my skin. I wondered to myself, "did I just pay $100+ for diluted bean water?"

I was wrong, the strength of this scent increases on the drydown. It has this subtle, almost chewy tonka bean quality in a pleasant way, the almonds act only as a supporting note in the background. I don't get a lot of tobacco or musk (probably because on my other wrist right now, I'm wearing SL Chergui and it's temporarily numbed all my tobacco receptors) but I'm excited to smell what the next few hours of this perfume holds. This is slightly reminiscent of Black Phantom By Kilian, but with better performance.

Cherry_Darling

Mostly I'm excited about this one because I've been meaning to try Nature Millenaire for years. It's a play doh woodsy tonka, but not the plastic play doh, the organic genuine one. Quite enjoyable! A little doll's head vibe, rather. There is a similar chemical that I notice in several other almond tonkas so do try before you buy, but I think this scent is enjoyable - here the mineral note also emphasizes it's synthetic nature but it's pleasant at least to my nose.

jose_bm10

One of the sexiest perfumes i ever smelled! Its the smell of a sexy prince. No joke! And to my nose doesn't smell like Guerlain l homme ideal nor spice bomb. We have a winner here!

katsong

This reminds me of A*Men Ultimate. Is that possible?

Miruna

Woody, spicy, sweet. Kind of reminds me of Spicebomb.

Margarita Birda

I absolutely love this! Brings out the masculine character in my feminine physique! Opens up gourmand, with rounded vanilla and almond and after 15 seconds settles into a warm woody scent with sweet but edgy tobacco. Retains it's softly sweet background due to the very well made Tonka bean note till the end. I Love layering it with another favorite of mine Bois d'amande from the same line.

Pixiedust2

Ahhh this is good! It starts out very gourmand with a creamy, caramel, Tonka almond. It's very smooth, the notes melt into each other. It's got a nice dose of powdery musk, giving it a fluffy feel. The sweet almond is very noticeable in the beginning. My only slight complaint is it dries down very fast and I'm left with fairly strong Iso E Super woods. It's on the edge of being too synthetic for me but I'm gonna push through and just spray some more. This is a strong like, I just wish the gourmand opening lasted longer than 10-15 minutes. Also this smells nothing like 100 Bon Tonka & Amande. That's a chemical raspberry mess on me. Bois Dore is creamy and dreamy and I don't get the mineral note either.

geekweevil

On me this is burned rubbery vanilla and it's delicious.

Carpe Noctem

Got this for Christmas and it's one of my most used scents. I put it on again and it's now been 28 hours and I can still smell it strongly on my skin. So strong that I cannot put another perfume on because it will clash with it.

I love the different note that is abundant in this. It's either the mineral notes or the teakwood. I'm guessing the teak wood since it smells woody. I would classify it as a vanilla woodsy scent and it is amazingly good!

I don't get much tobacco or musk. Definitely tonka, vanilla and wood.

Absolutely unisex. IMO, it leans ever so slightly masculine. 60/40.

aris1223

I’m completely in love with this fragrance . I didn’t realize how big of a fan I am of tonka . It’s warm , spicy a tiny bit creamy . Love it on cozy days . This is very very similar to the dry down of “Wicked Good “ from Gallagher fragrances . Wonderful fragrance overall !

chessislife

To me, it is a version of Guerlain L’Homme Ideal Eau de Parfum without cherry. More less synthetic, more silent and smooth. Good combination of Tonka Bean, Vanilla and Almond.

Safely unisex.

mirrorghost

right off i smell woods and tonka, maybe a little hint of black pepper. then i get more almond and vanilla while the tonka blossoms and takes over most of the scent. after a few more minutes i think i get hints of the mineral notes. it smells slightly rubbery. the teak wood also gets more prominent after being on the skin for awhile, but the tonka, almond and vanilla still dominate during the drydown.

zind

This is great!

It does remind me of Bvlgari Black. Not a dupe by any means, but similar vibe. Bvlgari is a garage, Bois Dore is more of a metal workshop. BD is grey, BB is Black. I love them both.

The mineral note is way more prominent than I expected and lasts way longer than what you would expect from a top note. So I disagree that this is not unique. The mineral aspect makes this different and slightly masculine. I am by no means well wandered in the world of niche scents, so maybe that's why I find this more special than many of the other reviewers

My ex is a blacksmith and the mineral note reminds me of steel and iron (first blast), as well as concrete (after the opening). Unusual, took some to get used to (and well, honestly, I had to get over the association with my ex), but now I love it. I get pretty much all the notes, but the almond, tonka and vanilla are the most prominent, then wood and musk. First hour is quite masculine, but it softens with time. Perfectly unisex imo!

CygneNoire

The opening is a light and pleasant gourmand but the drydown is headache inducing. It might be the teakwood clashing with the musk. I'm already prone to migraines so I can't wear this at all. I was expecting to love this so I sprayed, liberally. Now, I have to make sure I exfoliate all of this off.

AnnaThePerfumeFreak

I really wanted to like this fragrance and was putting a lot of hopes into it.... but there is something that truly bothers me in the drydown.... probably the teak wood note?

xaml

@Jeffwithfrags
If it makes sense to you to rate something while a compositional element of this magnitude is missing. Anyway, more for me then, I guess. To quote a controversial philosopher turned illegal opera dancer from the south... head's up, hands down!

jeffwithfrags

StellaDiverFlynn (the 1st review here) is spot on imo, I must mention!

I had high hopes for this but it opens so dull; it's non-sweet amber and woods, with that muffled sweetness in the background that never really comes out and permeate the profile. It's like Play dough with a tiny bit of sugar added in, that effect.

I see other Niches doing this too but is so annoying for me; I want the clear syrupy goodness off the bat or something leading to it that is good enough to hold my attention from the very 1st spray.

I eventually get the nice gourmand sweet shop of cocoa and other baked snackfoods but why the wait for it to sweeten?

Also, too much almond, definitely not a fan of accords I'm anosmic to

My rating: 4/10

I have to say, I think I am intrigued. I was actually looking for a certain fabulous something in the late afternoon today, which lead to an empty tester bottle and the absence of a dedicated salesperson who would be in charge of opening a new box as a tester, which is to be respected. A handful of minutes earlier, I had the chance to test this fragrance elsewhere and since I read that comparisons were drawn between the two, as well as wanting to learn more about additional fragrances from this line, naturally I had to. This is based on tests on two paper strips. I have to say that I was somewhat concerned about the mineral aspect which has been mentioned here and if there is then it contributes to a pleasant sensation as delicate as powdered makeup. Are you worried about your masculinity yet? Interestingly, in regards to the density of the scent and colour associations, there are certain comparisons that I would draw to Kenzo's elephant in the room, I mean jungle, which is adventurous though which I tend to find overwhelming. The porcelain and all, I guess? As linear as this fragrance here may be, at this time to me it appears to be a balance of unusualness and practicability where I may welcome linearity. I did notice though that the two sprays that I applied to the second paper strip seem to have decreased in strength after approximately just an hour, which I would not find acceptable considering its price recommendation. I am looking forward to test the other, supposedly fabulous, and to then attempt to make a decision which will hopefully be unhindered by aspects such as prices and the availability of rebates. If they are indeed comparable, I would find certain decidedly negative reviews about the scent and I mean the scent, as I can understand the debate about the name and ultimately the unsightly aspect of marketing, to be rather misguided and ignoring the fact that the character and the intentions of a wearer must, with an adequate amount of good faith, absolutely be taken into consideration and that is for each and every individual.

PilotJames

I first met this fragrance in store a couple of weeks ago. I was impressed enough to purchase it and have since worn it a couple of times on my wrist.

Upon spraying there is a cold mineral-like top note that reminds me of grey slate covered in rain. Accompanying that is an underlying Tonka that smells hot like it’s cooking. This contrast smells contradictory and doesn’t blend harmoniously, but that’s because it’s not cooked yet!

After an hour, that mineral note has really started to pop out, framed by the warmth of the Tonka. I get whiffs of it and when I do I sniff deeper to capture that sharp mineral note. Imagine a grand but vintage marble fireplace in an old Manor House. This is a scent for the mature nose, appreciative of the quality and unusual tone.

I don’t see myself wearing this for any specific occasion. I’ll spray it on my wrists when I’m yearning to catch that contrasting quality to it. The other half loves to wear this fragrance herself and I love to smell it on her. She’ll spray it on before work and I can still smell it on her later that evening. She describes it as comforting; it has such an addictive quality to it. I just had to add it to my growing collection, but it is likely she will wear it more than me.

This smells exactly like Cuir Noir by Giorgio Armani to me. I'm surprised no one else has mentioned that. The tonka bean is gorgeous on the dry down

NiceLemon282

The smell is quite nice - a sweet, woody, musky scent. At first I get more vanilla with a mixture of perhaps tobacco, mineral and almond and as it dries down it gets more woody and musky and loses the almond/mineral. Unfortunately on my skin there is awful longeivity (Kouros I sprayed 7 hours ago is now stronger than Bois Doré I sprayed 1 hour ago) and also pretty poor sillage - can't detect it shortly after spraying. Of course some nose fatigue could be to blame. On clothes it seems to last quite well but with still very little sillage. Beautiful, classy bottle, weighty cap (irritatingly it is completely opaque though). Nice, but not worth the money imo.

amr magdy

It smells just OK in the air... but up close it is terrible it has this weird synthetic note that for some reason reminds me of menthol or camphor.. the longevity is average and sillage is soft.
I was very disappointed .

kerikerinzfragger

WOW!! Just wow! I loved this from the moment I opened the box. Laying there in it's moulded casing. The neat little VC&A tag on the bottle. Taking the cap off I immediately smelt that sweet delicious aroma and knew I would not regret the purchase.

PdM Pegasus (another love) is much stronger in the almond (think Hypnotic Poison) but Bois Dore lets the almond sit back and allows the vanilla to shine. The almond is still there, it's just a lot lighter. If you have Pegasus, this is still a great purchase as it goes in a different direction.

Totally unisex. This is absolutely wonderful. Works great for me (male) and my sister-in-law tried it and she loved it too.

Best in cooler weather but hell, I'll use it whenever the heck I feel the need to ;)

So impressed with the quality I purchased Neroli Amara after this. That review will come soon.

omega15

I purchased this fragrances with anticipation and once I received it it reminded on Midnight in Paris. I'm not sure how everyone is getting Spice Bomb, or a mineral opening? Maybe is my skin chemistry.

Jay67

I’m in complete and utter agreement with knoxknoll777: this isn’t close to Fu*king Fabulous...... this is FU*KING INCREDIBLE!! I’ve finished my arm and have started on my torso!

Yes, it’s another Tonka bean fragrance, of which there are currently many, as it seems to be the component du jour but how this works on me has just simply stopped me in my tracks!!! Whilst clearly it isn’t exactly chilly outside as this composition would ordinarily demand, it is just the most beautifully warm, luscious, enveloping fragrance that just makes me go all warm and fuzzy. If I hadn’t seen the note breakdown here, I would have sworn there was leather in there somewhere but the vanilla, tobacco and almond in the heart, really does something great that works so well on me and combined with those mineral accords in the top that give a slightly steely brightness for an hour or so on first spray, it’s been a real revelation. With the tonka, musk & woods in the base, they hold the other notes up amazingly well and I get 6+ hours of great sillage and 10+ hours longevity, going close to skin around the 8 hour mark. I personally have to go easy on the trigger with this one, as it can get a bit loud on me but others may disagree.

I’ll happily admit that until relatively recently, this VC & A Collection Extrordinaire had pretty much passed me by and I only discovered it accidentally as I was testing a few other fragrances that all disappointed hugely. When I mentioned to the sales assistant that my winter signature was Dior Privèe Ambre Nuit, she gave me this beauty to try and I’ve been hooked ever since!!

One thing I will say though is that if you’re not a vanilla or gourmand fragrance lover, I’d test it first, as the vanilla carries on right until the end but I’d definitely say it’s unisex, possibly..... ever so slightly masculine-leaning for a colder day; slightly feminine for the evening but either way, it’s bloody wonderful!!!

stephanieklein

BOIS DORE smells similar to Eau des Baux L'Occitane. It also came up in the top 30 during a blind sniff test I ran of all fragrances I own. I am a woman, and I love wearing this, and I love smelling it on my man. Gorgeous tonka. Sillage is good, but it doesn't create a trail. Longevity is actually good, and hints of it sneak up on you throughout the day. It's gorgeous and cozy.

Nick Spaceman

I have been wearing a sample of this and have really been enjoying it. It reminds me a little bit of Prada L’homme Intense, they have a similar vibe to me, and I happen to love the Prada scent, so I’m really liking this as well! Bois Dore is a very nice unisex tonka bean scent. Projection is moderate and longevity is good. Not a huge scent, but it doesn’t need to be either. It is somewhat sweet and dry, very calming and pleasant smelling. It makes me feel great to wear it and I don’t care about compliments or anything, if wearing a fragrance makes me feel good, that’s all that matters. Might have to purchase a full bottle... I will decide when I run out of my sample, but this does smell very nice!

musenkata

This is so, so lovely, the smell is great, like a delicious ice cream.
Reminds me of "Vanilla & Leather S.T. Dupont ", but BD is more smooth, delicious and refined.

scentsuelle

Cosy, warm, woodsy with a fruity and boozy zing to it. This scent is like a hug. Yes, there are many others that smell similar but that is probably just because this is a nice type of smell that has its basis in a naturally occurring scent. I would love this as a body lotion as I can imagine that this would radiate softly all day and allow you to catch soupçons of it rather than having the strong impact of the perfume all the time.

knoxknoll777

Look here - Hands down, the best tonka bean centered fragrance I have ever smelled. And yes, I've smelled fu*king fabulous and to me, this is better. There is a metallic note in here that gives it an edge so it doesn't come across too sweet. I have bois d'iris and ambre imperial and of the three, this is my favorite. Seriously - I really want to eat my arm right now...

10/10

stephen.patton

This is a very well done fragrance, well blended and longevity is very good! 8-10 hours on skin!

its a sweet Tonka ( not overly) with woody and almond nuances! very nice and NOT synthetic at all.

I think the mineral notes makes it more mass appealing and brings the notes all together in harmony.

Impressed by their up- market line! well done!

7.5/10

yann33

Ok , it's very comparable with Tom Ford fing fabulous but this IS more sweet and synthetic. Good frag but i find ff more masculine dry and refined .

Bubbles1964

There’s something intoxicatingly simple about this scent, combined with very good performance (longevity 8 plus hours when I go heavy on the trigger) means I’m now on the hunt for a full size bottle.

There’s nothing incredibly unique about Bois Dore; it’s from the tonka and sweet almond trend you often see in many perfume these days. It’s similar to Fucking Fabulous but has more stamina compared to Ford’s version. FF is more interesting with the addition of lavender, but is a pass as it lasted about an hour on me.

Opening is very strong but lovely, I don’t know if it’s projecting in this phase but I also don’t care. Vanilla is present with tonka and almond, drydown still features those notes but with more woods and musk. This is also a bit one dimensional with the transition being slight.

On fragrancenet this can be mine for around $75 for 2.5 oz., roughly half of Tom Ford’s Fucking Fabulous (if you can find it discounted). The winner in this category is clear. Van Cleef & Arpels made a very good straight forward tonka-almond-woods scent and I love it.

SmellMyCheese

I love this stuff it's a very boozy opening leading to everything I was hoping Givenchy Pi would be, a really authentic but not too cloying Amaretto/Marzipan note.

This sat on the wood and tonka base is great in itself, but it stays quite masculine from what I think is a bit of dry spiced tobacco so is quite unique as compared to some of my other almond based frags.

It doesn't project too much so is definitely wearable around others and is just a nice warm, comforting scent that is perfect for cold nights.

Really liking this collection extraordinaire line it's excellent stuff without being expensive extraordinaire on top.

cranky137

Bois Doré is a quiet song for a sexy soul. It is actually so Close with the original This is not a blue bottle by HdP, but less loud and sits very Close to skin. In fact, they can be flankers.

On me, it opens with a cedar/tonka bean combination, followed by Woods/Musk combination. You do get vanilla at the base, but it is a unisex vanilla, can easily be worn by men. I guess, Bois Doré would be marvelous on men. You would want to come closer :).

After 5h you get only a memory of a scent, very quiet with weak to soft sillage. I cannot justify a full bottle, since I own a similar scent.

Atinea Noir

Beautiful tobacco. Dry, fragrant & sweet. A delightful softness keeps it from leaning too masculine. That said, this would be breathtaking on a man.

RoseSoul

Yes...I voted for the similar vibe with Code Profumo by Armani, but Bois Dore leans more feminine on me. Almonds and Tonka are the main players here ... and the sweet aura is probably given by the somptuous dose of Vanilia.

And no... I'm not getting Tom Ford's FF unique aromatic - almondy smell. I would love this on a woman, I think is to sweet for a man, altough I bought Code Profumo for my boyfriend.

raiza1990

Sweet, woody, a bit smokey and really golden. A very nice fragrance for cold weather, more feminine than unisex im my opinion. I didn‘t found it similar to Tom Ford‘s FF. FF is more masculine and fresh. I actually prefer Fucking Fabolous, but Bois Doré is also very good.

stickaforkinit

sweet tonka bomb although I was thinking iris to begin with.

if you like this then you might like code profumo

rbalkris

A sweet, pleasing, unisex woody fragrance, this one really has nothing in it to offend any sensibility. The perfume has a very brief opening where one detects pepper and some mineral notes before it settles into its dense powdery heart which stays for the length of the perfume. This heart is composed of cedar, vanilla, tobacco and almond. As the perfume completely dries off, one can detect hints of musk, tonka bean and teak. Beautifully blended with moderate sillage, projection and longevity. This is a very safe office scent that can be worn by anyone, anywhere and in any season. Enjoy!

Houdini4

I get the comparisons to TF FF I really do but this stuff is a much more straight forward gourmand fragrance, lacking the edge or interest that the Tom Ford had for me. Don’t get me wrong this is a sensual vanilla/tonka with lashings of almond milk in a sweet, luxurious mixture. It’s of great quality and lasts well, but not a fragrance of interest for me personally.
