I feel like my nose must be broken because all I can smell from this is the dark chocolate and white florals. However, the dry down on this is VERY nice to me. Whenever I smell it I envision a dark mocha with whipped cream and dark chocolate shavings on top. A lot of people consider this to be a “teen” scent but I don’t really smell it; an adult could very easily pull this off. I could see this being divisive with people however as it took me quite a few wears to warm up to it.

lavendium

upon first spraying, there's an off-putting plastic/chemical smell, but it fades quickly. throughout the day i catch whiffs of the different elements - sometimes floral, sometimes fruity, sometimes chocolate/vanilla. the way it evolves keeps it interesting, yet it's a safe choice and comfortable to wear at any time. i bought it just because i loved the bottle, which felt like it had been designed for me specifically - but it's a nice scent!

prettypussycat

To me, this is not a very memorable fragrance. It is not bad by any means, it just does not have very much personality in my opinion. I never picked up on the chocolate note, maybe a very watered down chocolate at best- no creaminess whatsoever. I also keep smelling lavender whenever I wear it. It smells clean, powdery, and lightly floral and it's not very sweet. Kind of reminds me of walking into a room where someone sprayed lavender scented Lysol. It's a light fragrance that is more suitable for a beginner or a young person. I will say it is quite feminine and a classy/elegant vibe, just not very pronounced. I don't think you would offend anyone wearing this especially since its a bit weak and not very long lasting. Lately I have been experimenting with layering it, and so far my favorite combination is spraying it over F by Ferragamo which is a bubblegum soapy floral smell. They seem to round each other out nicely. I just don't find that this scent has very much character on its own. It's not a total bust, just a little bit boring. The bottle is very pretty though!

Varsta

I didn't get any sweetness from it! This scent smells like just ordinary perfume that would be the first choice of a teenager. Poor sillage and longevity at all, so disappointed...

ArianaS

Nothing to do with the description notes! No chocolate, no vanilla, not sweet, not fresh, just a mixture of synthetic chemicals. Not at all what I expected. Indeed Vera Wang fragrances are cheap and boring.

aurorad6317

i have it and it's a ok fragrance but it dosent suit me and its too fruity for me. but it does last long and its good value but i wouldnt repurchase

Suzanne loves Perfume

Cute bottle but it's a teenager perfume.
I smell chocolate and vanilla and other fruity type notes. It's quite weak, if compared to others of its kind like the Brittany Spears fantasy perfumes or other Celebrity perfumes with that teenager sugary fruity fragrance.
It's alright for a teen who would love it and the bottle design. But for a grown woman its not the one. It's another safe not too statement or loud boring perfume from Vera Wang. Its the girl whos just turned 18 and is just finding her adult identity who wants to smell sweet and cute but cant afford the more desirable grown up brands and this is her first "well known designer" perfume. I would expect more from a designer that makes such beautiful and fashion forward dresses. The perfumes ain't that memorable from the Wang Brand. I won't ever buy another one again. I see there's a pattern with Wang perfumes they're all very safe and forgettable. It's a 4/10 perfume.

Tigerlilley9

I got a lot of compliments and people asking me what scent it was when I wore it. It just wasn’t “me.” It was too sweet, both literally and in its personality. I agree with people that it isn’t so sweet that it is cloying, sickly or overwhelming or anything like that. It just isn’t the kind of scent I gravitate towards. The bottle was pretty. If you like very feminine, friendly and sweet scents that have a wide appeal, this one could be for you.

vanillaboozygrl

sharp/fresh sweet powder. Kind of smells like old clothes at its worse. Chocolate at best. Sometimes, it reminds me Versace Red Jeans. Mostly, I feel nothing. Great for hot/humid weather. I'll bring it to Cuba w me.

modetallah

Just for anyone wondering: I have an ex that would wear this and I absolutely loved smelling this on her. Plus later on in the day, I would be able to catch it coming off my shirt and it would make me melt.

heartstopss

this smells pretty! sweet, but not cloying and i do get the chocolate and guava which go nicely. it also lasts surprisingly long for how cheap it was. very nice addition to any collection

Allthingssmelly

This is a nice perfume. A little floral, a little sweet, fruity and fresh. However, it completely reminds me of the scented feminine hygiene pads they used to make and my nose can't get past that. It's really unfortunate for me because I do really like this and I want to wear it, but I just can't. I feel too self conscious that others will identify it smells like that too. Bummer....😩

yuser99

It’s nice 🤷🏻♀️
Not sure if I’d buy again. Scent is pleasant on skin, fresh and sweet. very much a skin scent. It’s okay, nothing special nothing bad.

soniamcalear

This smells just like Charmin Bath Tissue. Just BEAUTIFUL!!!! I have always worn this throughout the years and NEVER tire of this Baby Bath Scent.

brandiwine1980

I love Princess! I have since it first came out, but a good friend wore it and I didn’t want to be a copy cat plus back in the day, I couldn’t afford it. I had been eyeing it at Ross lately now that it’s available for a lot less, but didn’t buy it and then my dear daughter got it for me for Christmas. It’s very pretty and powdery! Definitely a fruity gourmand with the apple, apricot, guava and chocolate taking the lead. I don’t detect much floral at all and honestly didn’t realize there was chocolate in it until I read the notes on here, but now I can’t unsmell it! The chocolate, vanilla and amber combine for a delicious scent. It really does make you feel like a pretty princess wearing this! I think it’s suitable for any age as long as they like sweet powdery scents! I’m so happy that I have a huge bottle!

Aquapinkmoon

Truly beautiful and timeless, princess is soft, fruity, chocolatey and powdery. A youthful and feminine scent

RiowithanA

It's a nice spray but if say it's more for a mature woman. The smell can get a little stuffy if you get me... But nevertheless it smells decent, a little too powdery. I find it too common.

violetaura

I tried this properly for the first time today. I had smelled it previously at friends houses by just spraying it in the air but didn't get to test it on paper and see how it dried down.
Its a lovely fragrance, so I 100% get the popularity through all the years. Beautiful florals- which are white flowers, kind I like, where it's not too Rosey, or too "bouquet of flowers". And fresh fruits too, rather than juicy dessert fruits, are mixed really well too.
This is also the first fragrance I can detect dark chocolate in!
Despite this being seen as (and marketed as) a young perfume, I could see it being for basically any age.

Yeeyeecheese

To me, this perfume is all over the place with its notes. I can’t detect any one note, they all just mix together horribly.

Scrabtree417

I wouldn't consider this to be a white floral, at all. It has white flowers IN it, but it's so much more. I'm surprised there aren't any violets or iris in it because it is powdery. It's sweet with the vanilla, and has sparkly fruit notes with the apricots and guava-I definitely smell the guava. With the amber base, the scent manages to have a more rounded, full scent profile which creates depth. Overall, it's a feminine, youthful, pretty fragrance and very appropriate for women under 30, however, I still have a bottle and reach for it from time to time. It carries nostalgia like Viva La Juicy does, but this is not a basic fruity, floral scent and has more complexity to it. I could see this being made by a fragrance house like Guerlain.

vpace91

Rating it as "just okay" for now. I like the drydown, but the opening is just straight waterlily, and I can't detect the chocolate, sadly. Will try letting it sit for awhile and test it again when the weather warms up a bit.

psychomoment

to me, it smells very artificial. i just can't get past it. i don't think the notes listed are quite accurate. i don't get any chocolate, just a plain floral. when applied to the skin i don't get anymore complexity. i don't quite get "sweet" from this scent, it doesn't grab my attention. given it a couple of shots and tries throughout a couple of days and it just fails to grab my attention. not bad if you want a plainer kind of scent. (cannot get the chocolate note at all :/ )

jadepo21

Wow, the notes listed so don’t match this scent. From them and the ridiculous name and packaging, I assumed this was going to be a super fruity starter perfume for a young girl. It is just a simple white floral, but a lovely simple white floral. Nothing about it is headachey or mature. It’s just a refreshing and sparkling bouquet of a scent. I think it’s the amber in the dry down that gives it a very understated sensuality, but is still very much an easy starter perfume. I get zero chocolate or guava and I couldn’t find the tuberose, but it is a well-blended, easy, and effortless perfume regardless.

Amethyst3

Loved everything about this when it was released - especially the bottle and ad campaign . However over the years I can’t help but feel it’s slightly synthetic smelling . It’s trying to be fresh but can’t make up it’s kind - probably due to the chocolate that’s randomly flung into the centre of the mix . It’s a young fragrance which definitely gives a youthful energy .

Lovaloo

Florals and aquatic fruit notes that smell sharp to me, but the perfume is primarily a powdered candy smell from the maltol and vanilla. When I tested it, I didn't detect the chocolate note, but I'm sure it's in there.

Artificial smelling and a jumbled mess, unpleasant. If I wanted to wear an edible fruity floral with powdery notes, I'd opt for Lolita Lempicka or LPRN over Vera Wang Princess.

piglette13

i love this one. pretty, light and sweet. smells somewhat vintage with a modern spin on it. love love love

swansong444

This is a great option if you’re just getting into perfumes. Very versatile, inoffensive and easy to wear. It’s slightly more on the gourmand side but the drydown is very fresh and floral, almost powdery. The orange and guava notes stand out the most to me. The chocolate notes were not noticeable at first but they came out eventually. This is a great everyday scent and very feminine, but not too juvenile despite the name. The overall performance is relatively good and it’s very affordable. I found a full size bottle at TJMaxx for around $30.
Composition: 8.5/10
Sillage: 7/10 (projects decently without being obnoxious, doesn’t become a skin scent until around 5hrs)
Longevity: 7/10 (around 6 hrs)

snowangeline

this fragrance reminds me of middle school so much. i don't know, part of me will always love this fragrance. it smells like the best baby powder you could ever smell lol.

zkarikuri!?!?!

i like it. i sprayed it 5 times inside the box and then on my skin. it smells like really fruity, the guava, mandarin, and apricot and like a powdery flower at first. i do not smell any other notes except maybe a little vanilla, but maybe as it macerates i will get more of that gourmand smell. its a nice fragrance but i wouldn't recommend unless u smelled it irl.

Rach-M-01

Received as a gift. Smells cheap and nasty. Used as a toilet spray in between grocery shops

Malibu

I was expecting something heavier & aggressively syrupy sweeter due to the combination of chocolate, vanilla and amber. However the standout notes of the fragrance are a freshly sweet mild combination of vanilla-infused apple, mandarin and apricot on me, with a powdered white floral heart.

For the floral notes; I can separate orange blossom, waterlily & tuberose most clearly and this combination stops the fragrance from being sickly sweet & seeming too 'young'. The waterlily & tuberose are more distinct than I remembered them being, but the guava develops around the same time and helps boost the existing fruits slighty above the floral bouquet at every stage of the fragrance. There isn't much difference between the heart and the base; but you know you're reaching the final stretch as a creamy sandalwood & ambery musk develops, plus slight hint of dark chocolate and something that brings patchouli to mind, adds a tiny bit more depth to the fragrance as it dries down.

I always remembered my first couple of bottles of Princess as being slightly nutty, as well as having having barely existing florals - however I now don't pick up on anything nutty and whilst the floral notes aren't as loud as the fruits, sweet and woody notes, a couple of them are pretty distinct. Formula changes, or mixed memories?

Overall I still find Princess to be a pleasant, all occasions, all year round scent that's only let down a bit by its poor staying power [around 5 hours on average] - but as the concentration is a edt, I'm not really surprised. Since you can easily find the 100ml bottles of Princess below £25 in outlet stores & online, I find the performance reasonable enough.

I think that it's perfectly fine for adults to wear Princess both as casual wear and for more conservative places like work, as it's not something too 'young' and it is mild enough not to irritate scent-sensitive people around you.

Justysiab

I’ve tried this in a local store today. All I can smell is the white flowers. Was expecting something different, more fruity or sweet, young girl like. It’s none of those things. Not my favourite type of scent.

violets1

Sweet but without being overpowering. Good for subtle and drydown smells like vanilla and musk.

bleuetfane

A fresh floral with the slightest tartness from the dark chocolate; after a while I get a bubble gum-like note, which I assume is the guava. Very nice, girly and inoffensive, I really enjoy the edge from the chocolate and something almost grassy peeking through. A good all year round everyday scent :)

nekozoe

This is a very elegant, soft, feminine, and beautiful scent. It smells like what you would imagine a princess would smell like if you were younger. My mother used to wear this in 2006 and gave it to me when I was a teenager. It makes me very nostalgic. I even have an extra bottle sealed in the box for when it runs out.

I'm in my 20s now and I wear it occasionally when I'm out somewhere nice for a dinner or anniversary.

My only critique is, I don't smell any chocolate as advertised at all. I didn't even know it had a chocolate note before I looked on here.

zannajezek

Princess by Vera Wang is a true fairytale fragrance. Creamy, feminine, soft, and innocent. I imagine this scent on a ballerina, on Aurora or Odette, or on Juliet Capulet. It is the perfect fragrance for Juliet from the 2013 Romeo and Juliet movie. To me, this fragrance goes perfectly with the atmosphere of the film; castles and candlelight, beauty and tragedy, the rush of new love, rose petals, climbing vines, youth and hopefulness, warmth and tenderness. This is the perfect perfume for fallng in love. A captivating collection of vanilla ribbons and orange, of waterlilies and rain.

The note which truly stands out to me is a lovely hot chocolate note; warm, creamy, and inviting. It has a beauty and magic all its own. There is also an aquatic element to this fragrance which only adds to its beauty, like starlight on a lake. It is captivating and magical. I am simply enchanted by this perfume. It smells so beautiful on me, so soft and ethereal that it almost seems unreal, like a dream or a fantasy. My husband loves it too. It is his absolute favorite perfume of mine. So delicate and romantic, enchanting and ethereal.

The name suits the fragrance perfectly; this fragrance evokes an imagine of a perfect princess, a feminine ideal of grace and poise, with delicate features and creamy white skin, with elegant fingers, and long cascading locks of hair. It is everything I aspire to be; soft, graceful, feminine, classical, romantic, elegant. It is forever my signature scent.

It smells like Valentine's day, like a luxurious box of chocolates wrapped with a shiny red bow, like bouquets of delicate white flowers, like love letters covered with kisses, like whispered confessions of love.

Alexchanel22

Perceived notes: hints of apple, delicate water lily, sweet apricot, tropical guava, rich chocolate, creamy tuberose, warm vanilla, amber, refreshing bergamot, and delicate orchid petals.

Initial impression: The scent is light and refreshing, reminiscent of the year 2009. However, it took multiple sprays for the fragrance to become noticeable on my skin.

Experience and reaction: Unfortunately, the fragrance was underwhelming and seemed more suitable for a younger audience. It appeared to be a common choice for many as their first "grown-up" perfume. Despite this, I will hold onto it due to my appreciation for the beautiful bottle design.

m0userella

I had high expectations for this fragrance, especially due to the anticipated vanilla and chocolate notes. I was hoping for a typical teenage sweet gourmand scent, which I always love, but to my disappointment, I couldn't detect any vanilla or chocolate elements. Instead, all I could smell were white flowers, citrus, and other generic fruits. The scent came across as sickly sour to me, like something that should be sweet but has gone sour as if it were fermenting. I experienced a similar unpleasant smell with Flowerbomb, which I absolutely despised. Perhaps it's the combination of white florals and citrus that creates this off-putting aroma. In my opinion, it doesn't have a youthful vibe at all; rather, it reminds me of a 40-year-old woman going through a divorce. I can't fathom how tweens were wearing this scent a decade ago.

Amber&Oud

alleged notes:
apple, waterlily, apricot, guava, chocolate, tuberose, vanilla, amber, bergamot, orchid petals

what i smell:
watery, alcohol

scent event / my reaction:
disappointing, a bit too juvenile, this is a first “serious” perfume for a younger sibling. A play perfume you consign to your favorite toddler

vtothek

So I purchased a bottle of this because it was relatively cheap and I was feeling nostalgic. A friend of mine had some that I would borrow occasionally about a decade ago, and I don’t remember feeling too strongly about it one way or another. This is a very fresh scent that I can see being worn in all seasons and most occasions. It’s a good office scent. I get a ton of powdery chocolate on my skin, with white florals and just a hint of vanilla. Really it kind of smells like a shampoo.

That being said there’s a part of the dry-down that I really dislike, and I’m not sure what note it is exactly that’s offensive. On me this lasts forever, like six hours, and by hour three the strange note appears. It’s the only thing that really keeps me from wearing this, because it is such a versatile perfume, but after the first two/three hours it turns into something I’m not a fan of. I don’t remember it being like that 10 years ago, but hey, body chemistries change. This is a very inoffensive scent overall though, and I think most people will be pleased by it, though not wowed.

nympholepsy

i mean this in the most postive nostalgic way: it smells like the year 2009

i remember smelling this constantly at the age of 7 but never quite knowing what it was but its the scent of my childhood. smells like the inside of a justice store back when it was still fun girly and only played nobody by wonder girls on the tv screens

smelling it transported me back there so fast and i love it so much it gives me jennifer check vibes

i can finally be the cool late 00s teen dream

SoleilE

I do not know how this perfume has so many positive reviews. I mean, it is a nice smell.... IF you can smell it!!! I oversprayed the ***** out of this and still cant smell it after like one minute. No silleage, no lasting power at all, can barely smell it at all. I have Body sprays that are loads better than this. I would never repurchase because it's like buying water. The hint of fragrance I got was pleasant enough but if I could have brought it back to get my $26.99 back from Ross I would have to spend on something I can actually wear. This is not even useful as a room spray. Nothing I tell you. Another one like this is God Is a Woman by Ariana Grande. She went ant took a Great name that no one can use not and wasted it on her perfume that also smells like water. No smell at all and I do not have a weak sniffer. I have maybe 200 bottles of perfume, body sprays and perfume oils. Do not waste your money on this one or that one, get something you can actually smell.

LEM922

I had given my bottle to my sister a couple years ago and decided to revisit it today, and I’m surprised how much I like it. Yes, it is vanilla powdery and chocolatey, but the water lily and apple are also quite prominent, making it smell clean and fresh too. I might have to get another small bottle. This is definitely a “clean girl” scent, but with a slight gourmand twist. I think this is great for a starter fragrance — extremely likable and inoffensive. I could see it making a comeback if the marketing was right.

Also, here are the OFFICIAL notes from Vera Wang… a little bit different, maybe it was recently reformulated?

Top Notes: Apple, Water Lily, Mandarin Meringue
Middle Notes: Golden Apricot Skin, Tahitian Tiare Flower, Dark Chocolate
Base Notes: Vanilla Chiffon, Amber and Musk

KatherineRegine

To me this smells extremely powdery, floral and a bit sweet. It's not my favorite by any means. Something about sniffing it close up makes me choke up a bit, like sniffing a blast of baby powder.

xoxoRosita

Definitely not fruity or tropical at all. This fragrance is more mature than the bottle & marketing make it seem. It's VERY powdery, with hints of fresh, sweet florals like waterlily. I would describe this as a very soft, daytime perfume. When I spray a lot, I can really smell the chocolate, but the chocolate dissipates quickly and balances nicely with the waterlily so that it's not foody at all. It does smell very fresh. This is a pretty fragrance that is well worth the low price.

It's very slightly like Love's Baby Soft if you could imagine adding waterlily to it.

strawberriepeach

This is a great springtime perfume and gives a really clean scent. It's so recognizable and really does well in most situations. For me, the longevity could be better, but it's definitely better than some more expensive options out there. On my skin, the chocolate comes through quite a lot after it dries down.

MeliLalo

Floral, whispers of fruit, amber with vanilla and chocolate that give it that rounded sweetness as opposed to the toothache sweet so many perfumes dubbed "young" have. For me, it wears down to a chocolatey warm sweetness that lasts. During the fall and winter months, I've noticed it keeps in my hair(between wash days) and coats for days! I'm one of the many that has emotional ties to Princess by Vera Wang and have worn this scent since I was 20 (ten+ years). I wore this throughout my husband and I dating; this was my wedding day perfume and morbidly what I want to wear to my funeral. I was a serial VS perfume wearer and when I outgrew VS (they discontinued everything I tried to make a signature scent) and through every new favorite since, Princess has always remained a front runner for me. To many, this might be a "common/teen/nothing special" scent, but for those of us that wore it while finding ourselves, meeting our significant others or for other monumental/special occasions; it will always be a signature and have a front row spot on the perfume tray.

dawngalloper

I cannot detect any fruity notes or chocolate. This just smells like flowers to me,

SSolstice

I’ll always have a soft spot for this! Like many, ‘Princess’ was my first official fragrance purchase and I wore it often as a teen. It’s powdery and fruity, with a lot of sweetness at its forefront. I’ve since outgrown her but I still have a bottle for the rare days I feel nostalgic for a ‘cute’ scent.

Noemimeew

💲 I continually repurchase this; Every time I run out of Vera Wang Princess, I restock on it at Ross, where they usually have the full size for about $24-27.
👃 This has been my signature scent for years; I just love smelling like a soft, fluffy, chocolate-dipped marshmallow. Upon initial spray, the scent can come across as a strong, very generic perfume-counter fragrance, but this will dissipate within a few minutes. What you will be left with at dry down is a light creamy scent that is just sweet enough without becoming cloying. There is a touch of powderiness but in a clean airy, way, not like baby butt talc.

Sade800

Creamy soft fragrance with a lovely chocolate note.
Reminded me of chocolate milk in the dry down but in a good way.
Longevity is great.
Nice to see an affordable fragrance, for a

Oladin

It's my new blind buy. The longer it seats on my skin, the better it gets. I love gourmand scents, sweet, strong. I was hoping it will be similar to "black star" from Avril Lavigne but thats not it. This one opens with lily and powder, reminding me "my name" from trussardi. "Princess" is delicate parfume, not too sweet and not really gourmand. Feels like it fades away quickly.
Shortly, doesn't go to my favorites, but I will keep it in my collection, because it's eventually a pleasant smell.

hanner2012

I got this because it's well-known and was on sale. I'm very disappointed. It does not mix well on me, I assume, because at first spray through the base notes it just smells of baby powder. I wish I had even a hint of fruity notes that appeared on me.

Glyceryl

This is a modern grandma smell. Upon initial spray I smell nothing but rubbing alcohol and flowers. Then after it dries down I smell chocolate and vanilla with a hint of floral.
It is not for me at all. I remember when this was popular and everyone had it. I never did but received it as a gift in 2021. It smells dated. I cannot detect any fruity smells at all. The bottle and name of this fragrance do not match the way it smells.

alice_w

This one smells more mature and deep than it seems. It's lovely and makes me feel like a sweet elder sister who is capable of conquering anything.

kawaiithugg

Honestly, it is what some of the reviews say. You either love it or dislike it. I personally am somewhere in the middle, and I'm glad I bought it for real cheap at Walmart in a small 1.0oz size.
I feel like I would definitely wear it either to church or during fall.

*edit: it's been an hour and omg that chocolate note comes in strong, I love it!!

teddybabie

Awful, awful, awful. This gives me 30-something too-thin, fake tanned lady-who-lunches, weighed down with rolexes as she totters down Bond Street. Thankfully that cuts out 99% of the population. I'll be glad to never wear this again - one thing i will say is that the longevity and sillage are pretty good. But the scent is so tacky and awful - maybe a fault of the producer? I've had the bottle for a few years...

noodlehead19

a classic, and it's clear why. very characteristic of its time, that late 90s/early 00s vibe (water lily perhaps?) is ever so present here. starts off as a really nice fruity white floral, then mellows out to something much more gourmand with the chocolate & tempered by the patchouli. speaking of, imo the patchouli is really well done here, not too pungent or overbearing. performs like an EdT, nothing too crazy, projects to about arms length. on me the chocolate turns into something spicy, almost like a cinnamon smell, that doesn't play well with everything else. I still think it's lovely, perfect as a first fragrance or just to wear to feel happy. very easy dumb reach.

Selinat2023

I love the smell of this fragrance straight out of the bottle, and I have no doubt that it smells gorgeous on other people, but for some reason this just does not sit well on my skin. Whenever I spray this on myself, it smells like the sweet milk left in your bowl after eating cereal. There’s just something off about it. I want to love this fragrance, but I can’t right now. Maybe it would work better for me in the cooler months, but for now I’m setting this aside.

sweetjess

Although I don't wear this one as a perfume anymore, I never get tired of this gorgeous scent and keep coming back to it. 10 years ago as a teen I loved it and still today the fruity-chocolate makes me so happy. I now use to spray around my house and I love it.

Erincess

This was many girls signature of there 20s include myself:) soft fruity soft sweet which was quite unique in that time, guava and peach combination is so cute, still miss that scent but wont wear it agian since I become 35yrs old so I can say its vera wang young princess!

Ashmoore84_1

This was my signature in my 20's! It's a good scent, with a diverse note profile. I got a lot of compliments off princess! I agree with the commenter who said "before there was a good girl, there was a princess" -priceless and well stated. 😉

HannahRosesAreRed

Hello darkness, my old friend... Before there was Good Girl, there was Princess.

I was a teen of the 00s. I remember very clearly when this fragrance got popular. I went to a school where perfume was discouraged, but still, I remember clearly those rules being broken as we got further into high school. So many friends and classmates wore this, and it was slightly different on every person. Though being teens, nuance wasn't a thing–they oversprayed this like crazy! Vera Wang Princess is a very sweet, sharp and gourmand, intense fragrance. It blends notes that wouldn't normally go together–bubblegum tuberose, buttery tiare, piquant, juicy apple, tart, tropical guava, chocolate and vanilla. It was super sweet and on my teeny-bopper classmates, overpowering.

I revisited this in a drugstore and relived the experience with a more adult nose. It has good sillage, but the longevity is so-so–perhaps the reason why people overprayed this! On me, the chocolate and vanilla drown out the fruit notes. It's like a training wheels Thierry Mugler Angel. Apparently the late Amy Winehouse was a fan of this, and given how feminine, fun yet chaotic it is, I can see why. It's not for me–too sweet on my skin. But it's not a bad fragrance, even without the nostalgia filter.

I’m very open minded when it comes to fragrance and I will almost never turn my nose up at anything but I r e a l l y didn’t like this. I usually love a sweet and girly perfume, even if it is floral, and because so many consider this to be a safe blind buy, I got it. I wore it once last summer and it gave me a gnarly migraine. Super screechy and cloying, but it’s not even because it’s too sweet or anything it’s just a foul powdery mess- no fruit and no chocolate . Flowery bug spray mixed with decades expired makeup is a decent description but I can’t tell you how pungent this came off with my chemistry. I couldn’t escape it either; I could still smell it on my skin after I bathed. I’ve never decluttered something so fast.

Night of April

I think I've bought a bottle that may be off because at first, it smelled so acid and alcohol-y that I had to keep away my head. After that, immediately started to soften and became a powdery Nivea body cream smell.
Finally, when it dried down, I could smell the dark chocolate and some sweetness that might be the guava notes.

It may be the chemistry of my skin but oh boy, it was a whole experience.

moncherrie

I wanted to love it and detect the gourmand notes, but I’ve tried it so many times and all I get is guava and sandalwood. It’s certainly not bad, but it just doesn’t smell delicious or pleasant to me. As it dries it definitely turns warmer and the vanilla shows up, but the wood is way too strong to me.
I got it back alongside the little body mist version in January for like 12.50 because the drugstore had all the fragrance sets on clearance, so it was worth it (the perfume is well performing!), but I wish I loved it.
The little body mist had less woodsy notes and more vanilla and gourmand so I like it much better. Regardless, it has a melonly fruity scent which I don’t like as much as berry fruits. Still a nice and non cloying perfume though.

Dani83

Beautiful very underrated perfume I love wearing this in high heat very easy to wear for all occasions this smells like Eau des Merveilles Hermès but with a coco powder note

ravenjane

I found this scent in a Macy's a while ago, with no previous knowledge of it. After using over half of the bottle, I have to say I do truly enjoy this scent! It's a pretty standard musky, fruity scent that's not TOO juvenile, but still not very mature. It has decent longevity, I can get through about 5-6 hours of classes and work and still smell it on me, especially on textiles.

I can say that I don't get much of the chocolate notes much, if at all; it's definitely overpowered by the apricot and orange top notes, and the woodsy vanilla base. The scent overall is a bit generic and inoffensive, it's good for daily wear if you like fruity musks on a budget.

Overall a fun scent, I like wearing it at work, brunch, and any casual daytime wear. Good starter fragrance for younger people, but I reach for it less now that I have better scents to wear.

sprayonce

To my nose modern bottles smell different, and I do not know what has changed, only that it is volatile and easily unpleasant. Vera Wang for Men also suffered the same composition instability. I'll have to revisit to check if the problem has been rectified since, as it was enough for me to give up on Vera Wang fragrances. Not recommended for blind purchase because of this. I am unsure if the wearable ring feature is missing from the newer Princess bottles.

galbanumy

It is a complete price performance product. Although I don't see it much in perfume markets anymore, I want to say that I am very satisfied with the 2 bottles I finished with reference.

alexjane11

This was my first-ever perfume! I consider it to be a more youthful scent, you’ll want something else if you want to convey maturity. What a lovely fragrance to start out with as a teen though.

Enrium

Between the juvenile name and hideous, tacky bottle, I have never been tempted to try Princess, despite its ubiquity in department stores and small pharmacies alike. Until today. I sprayed a tester of Princess while waiting in my local pharmacy, as there was literally nothing else for me to try. My suspicions were confirmed: it is a sickly-sweet, cheap-smelling, generic girlish thing.

Princess opens with sweet, synthetic fruity notes, like orange squash and summer fruits cordial. It is followed by thin, aquatic florals, also synthetic and sweet. I expected a floral-fruity, but instead it becomes syrupy, with headache-inducing vanillin rounding out the base. The fleeting chocolate note is the best thing about Princess, tempering the vanilla somewhat, but it doesn't last. The drydown is all sweet vanilla - I get no amber - and it fades to become a single-note vanilla skin scent. Sillage and longevity are moderate.

A feminine day scent, this is only maybe OK for pre-teen/teenage girls (but there are far better offerings available for this target market). How this has been a bestseller for almost two decades I will never understand. Not the worst thing I've ever smelled, but dismal nonetheless. 1.5/5.

agejo

bought the original as a last resort (princess of hearts wasnt available..) and i'm quite disappointed.. it's one of the most generic perfumes i've ever worn.. the chocolate note REALLY comes out after a few hours or so.. but the starting smell is just incredibly bland. had high hopes for this one considering it's very popular, but this is so boring.. the bottle is cute though, so i don't entirely hate it.

candiedpeach

I really do like this perfume, but it's really dull. It's the most generic perfume I think I've ever smelled. Just thinking of a good-smelling perfume speaking generally, this is what I would think of. Don't get me wrong, this perfume smells very good, just isn't super groundbreaking. It's very floral and sweet. The only problem I have with this is that it doesn't last long at all. I've worn this with White Jasmine from b&bw and they work really well together, I'm sure this would do great with other white floral scents. This was a blind buy at Marshall's for like $20, and I really didn't like it when I first got it, though I do really like it now. The bottle is so pretty too, but I lost the cap and ring as soon as I got it because it was hard for me to get off and I ended up flinging them across my room LMFAOAOO. By itself though it still looks gorgeous.

TikiKat

This is a pretty decent performing EDT on me. It gets me through a workday without having to spray again, but for context I also prefer my fragrances to sit close to me and not leave a trail when I’m at work. It’s kind of boring in the opening, but after it dries down I do detect the chocolate note. I’m pleased with that; it makes it a more interesting fragrance, especially being so affordable! It’s definitely not gourmand; the florals are always front and center. I never smell edible. However, layering it with a sweet fragrance (Pink Sugar is my preference) makes a really delectable combo.

f1abz

So I bought tis as a blind buy and had high expectations for it as the reviews were good. I could not really pick up and fruity scents which is what I looked forward to but it smells more floral and pwdery. I'd say sort of oriental and fresh. Initially I didnt like it but now I love the scent, it really grows on to you. The projection is strong for the few few minutes but then it fades out, the lasting power is about 1 hour if you drown yourself in it but other than that its pretty weak.

screamadelica

i blind bought this for like $20 at burlington. very nice perfume; love the bottle. it’s definitely weak on me, but i’m fine with that since it’s not very expensive. however, i have not detected the chocolate or vanilla notes yet. it’s just very white floral and a bit fruity for me, which i enjoy.

Icarel

I blind bought this fragrance because I discovered it here on Fragrantica ( I didnt even know that Vera Wang had perfumes), and the notes seemed appealing as chocolate is a note that appreciate <3 but tbh its most because of the bottle !!! It is stunning ! When I understood that it was popular, and also when I checked the price, I was like okay lets give a try. In worst case you will have a nice pink heart shape bottle :D Regarding the juice…i would say its nice but sad mostly because it last 15 min before TOTALLY disappearing on skin and maybe 30 min on clothes…:( its really sad because its also a nice sent. I get all the tops notes listed above and the guava, but not the rest. It smell fresh, exotic fruits, a bit gourmand/sweet but mostly pleasant, inoffensive and cute. I imagine one of the Little Pony smelling like this or an early teenage Blair Waldorf but also a classy woman on holidays near the beach going for late afternoon drinks. Despite the design and name, I think it could be worn by any age, but to me and to my nose; this is def a summer and non formal perfume due to freshness and the smell of guava. Really and absolutely sad that it has (to me) the longevity of a ROOM spray, otherwise I would have adopt it… please Vera Wang make this one stronger, at least a real EDP or EDT intense?

EDIT: After reflection I have to say that for the price, it's really not bad, even an excellent quality/price ratio and you shouldn't expect from it an EDP performance from a great designer/perfumer like Dior or Tom Ford. Its not the same level. I love this perfume, I'm almost a fan and I think I will always carry a bottle from now! A nice discovery thanks to Frangrantica:)

JaneDough

This perfume is just a like. I layer it with Britney Spears believe, because that one is too much patchouli for me. I wasn’t planning on buying it again when I run out, but I was strolling thru Burlington and saw a 100ml bottle, checked the price and someone put the wrong price on it! It was $5.99! I will probably gift it to somebody, but for the price I couldn’t resist!

justcrypto_

I highly rate this perfume. It's not an entire love but a very heavy like. This is perfect for the blue winters!! It's a great compliment grabber and you feel good

London Lady

I'm embarrassed to admit how many bottles of this I've got through over the years. In fact, I still have two unopened bottles in my wardrobe. Whenever I see it on sale I have to buy it. This perfume was given to me on my birthday, some years ago and it was a fully guaranteed compliment-getter. Seriously, everywhere I went there would always be someone who complimented me on the smell...and here's the deal, when I was asked what I was wearing I felt somewhat sheepish saying 'Princess' because it sounds quite childish and also because the bottle looks marginally immature. However, the bottle has grown on me and I quite enjoy it now. The pretty purple liquid in the crystal-looking heart-shaped bottle is just quintessentially feminine and quite fairy-tale-like, and although the lid is fiddly and often gets lost, even that has grown on me.

The fragrance itself is so feminine, a perfect blend of fruity and floral notes with a creamy depth that comes from the chocolate and the vanilla. Honestly, Princess is something I wore every day and never got tired of but lately every bottle I've had has felt like it's been watered down and barely lasts half an hour on me. I can hardly smell it at all after 10 minutes or so - this is not the Princess I have known and loved. I've been pining for the original princess and can only think that this scent must have been reformulated???? I keep spraying to try to rekindle the memories of the original but it really isn't the same anymore. Has it got a new formula??? Or is it me who has changed????

I've loved this scent for years!

beta-ionone

Got this for the bottle design. It's so pretty and the crown is metal and it has a ring part to it that you can wear! I would have loved this as a teen. I had never smelled it before but I am going to assume if it existed before 2016 / 2017 then it's likely been reformulated. It used to contain Lyral and Lilial.

To the people saying they can't smell vanilla, I think this needs heat or humidity. When I first sprayed it, it was a very faint floral aquatic. My boyfriend said it smelled nice. I couldn't really smell anything other than that until I went outside in the heat and humidity and then the vanilla hit me. I have some Lolita Lempicka fragrances that act the same way; you can't really smell them until your body temperature or environment gets warm. I sprayed this on my skin and clothes and I don't think it smells outdated or like the powdery vintage scents your Grandma wears. It does get powdery but it's more of a soft deodorant or baby wipes baby powder smell. It's a very soft, relaxing skin scent that despite having chocolate and vanilla sweetness, the florals and freshness make it smell like more of a hair conditioner. I think this would make a good gift for teens and tweens, or if you're an adult it's an inoffensive office scent. Price is really great too, for $27 at Wal-Mart I got a big bottle of 3.4oz or 100mL. Usually gourmands that are super vanillic or sweet make me feel like they should be fall and winter scents but since this needs heat to shine I think you should use it during spring and possibly summer. It's cheap enough to be a daily wear scent or a 'dumb grab.'

Update: sprayed this on my clothes today and I didn't smell the vanilla. It smelled like some incense I bought a while back that was Gooseberry scented; It had an artificial melon scent with baby powder and hairspray. I can't explain it but that scent also has a plastic note like an old plastic polyethylene shopping bag. I don't know if the spray clashed with the fragrance chemicals in my clothing or if it was because I spent all day in the cold but it wasn't like the day before where it smelled good. I had even gone to bed smelling pleasant. This fragrance is too volatile for me. I'm just gonna keep it for the bottle. So many fragrances come in heart bottles it's like I am building a collection.

I work in a pharmacy and we have this in our cabinet. I was considering doing a blind buy since I thought it was cute, and I know a few girls a couple of years older than me who would talk about this fragrance with a hint of nostalgia, saying it was a staple during their teen years.
I unboxed the tester myself, and I wanted to like this perfume a lot. I still think the bottle and the packaging are very cute, and I would have loved to have this on my shelf - but I'm not going to buy a perfume just to look at it!
I gave it a few test runs, and every single time I thought it was underwhelming. I thought both the sillage and the longevity were poor. To me, it basically dried down to nothing and thought it was undetectable after maybe an hour or two. I thought the scent itself was basic and underwhelming, getting just some dated sweet florals and not much more.
Every now and again I give myself a few sprays when I go by, and then I'm reminded why I'm not going to buy the bottle.

COSMICSCENTS

The formula definitely changed from when it first launched and I had it and used it all, this one does not smell like vanilla much, more like body mist without vanilla.

canabena

What the heck! has the formula changed ? or does my bottle need to macerate ? I remember my friend having a bottle a couple years ago and I tried her and it was so yummy, the cocoa came through and it was super sweet and yummy. The one ive just recieved smells like my grandma. No cocoa just a really weird popuri smell. it genuinely smells like my grandmas house lol. Highly disappointed I will however allow my bottle a couple weeks to macerate and see if anything good happens. I bought this as a sure buy thinking ofc ill love it but wow was I wrong.

Update: I have tried it on my skin for some reason if I smell it upclose on my wrist it smells like a granny HOWEVER if I get a whiff of the projection its actually quite nice. Still not the way I remembered but sweet and something I could see myself wearing. This really performs like a EDT or a body spray the scent doesnt last long what so ever 2 hours max, I wouldnt repurchase this though and still may pass it on but for now I have a 3 oz bottle to get through.
update : ended up passing it on

CuppaTea23

I liked this as a person in my very early 20s and blind bought at 32 without resmelling and I regret my decision. It's pleasant but nothing special. Doesn't last at all on me, I literally can't smell it about an hour or so. It's just ok, wouldn't repurchase

hollyoaks321

A powdery generic smelling perfume im not a fan of this one.

hblakes70

I’m a bit older now and I just love learning about fragrances. And when I saw this I had to comment! It’s been twenty yrs since I’ve first smelled this. It was a blind buy ( the bottle made me do it )! It was too strong and I hated it!! Around the same time I had bought Angel for my mom as a gift…hated that as well ( knew she would like it and again, the bottle ha)! So coming the across the name and the reviews, now that I’m really into learning about and not just wearing perfumes, I pondered, what was it that I truly disliked? And I believe it’s the chocolate!? I knew it was something strong that got me that didn’t entice me, pushed me away in fact….and it has to be the chocolate!? I just don’t think chocolate works in perfumes for me anyways or maybe it’s something synthetic BUT what just popped into my mind ?? Ugh Heaven Scent??? Ugh it reminds me of that!! My name is Heaven and as a child in the late 70s and a teen in the 80s people just loved giving me that perfume during the holidays…yikes no!!

pynchbookclub

I like this scent! It's what made me fall in love with fragrances. When I first spray it, I smell fruits and chocolate, with a hint of white floral, and it's perfect. It smells young and flirty, but the white floral makes it a bit sophisticated without smelling too old. It smells amazing paired with BBW Chocolate Covered Cherries, which really makes the chocolate pop. The longevity is pretty good, too. It's great for the winter months, but the floral fruity aspect makes it great for spring and winter, too. Nice for the day but also for a date night. I don't think I would buy it again unless it was for cheap, but it's a comfort smell for me!

Sanrio

This is the exact type of scent I don't like. Something similar to this was pretty common in bath products in the 00s. Despite the notes voted for here, I don't get a fruity gourmand at all.

To me the strongest note is water lily. There's definitely an aquatic floral touch here. I also get something I've come to associate with a "freesia" note even though it's not listed. There's definitely a sweetness and a fruitiness, but it's so well macerated that one single sweet note (chocolate, vanilla, guava) doesn't jump out.

Ultimately it reads as a sweetened fruity floral to me, and I personally don't like it at all.

kel0315

I really like princess. I find it to be a very versatile inoffensive fragrance. It's not super sweet which we tend to associate with younger people but it's not super heavy or floral. I think women all all ages would enjoy it, unless they don't like powdery scents because this one is quite powdery. It's unique and likeable. It opens up a tad floral and sweet, but as it dries down you get more of that powdery chocolate vanilla. It has a soft/feminine quality to it and it reminds me of tarte makeup. Tarte makeup has that chocolate smell to it which I love. Princess resembles that a lot. The longevity is also pretty good. It lasts about 6-7 hours on me. If you have a sensitive nose and don't like sharp/heavy fragrances, I would give it a try.

Creamy_ambrette

I dunno. This is a nice, polite, sweet generic unidentifiable floral, slightly cotton candy musk. Reminds me of aquolina pink sugar - minus the synthetic cotton candy note- just the vanilla musk part. Princess also reminds me of Intimate fantasy and the dry down of Prada Candy. Basically sweet musk, lol.
I wish the chocolate note or more Tuberose was amped up. Something to bring an edge. It’s nice, wearable and inexpensive but underwhelming.

makeupmaven1967

I bought this five or six years ago when I was first getting into perfume. I bought it specifically for the chocolate note, but I never could detect any. The bottle I bought was a tester, so I got it at a very good price. it came in a plain brown box and was missing the crown top. I haven't worn it much, because I have become more a gourmand girl. It sat so long (although in box in drawer) that the liquid is now a brown color instead of the original lavender. What I always got from it was a pleasant enough sweet-ish fragrance with a definite floral emphasis. Maybe a lily, if I even know what a lily is supposed to smell like. Nothing oudy or mossy or spicy about it in the least, which are things I usually tend to steer clear of. So I should be able to like it more. I think that if I had been able to smell chocolate in it, I probably would have worn it. I feel bad about not having reached for it more and letting it turn from the pretty lavender color. There is nothing offensive about it, it is just not my bag. The bottle, even without the cap, is still pretty and an interesting shape. .

maryramone

I will always love this no matter how old I get honestly.

SELFCARE_INTROVERT

Umm this Scent honestly has Me Confused…IDK how I feel about it honestly…it’s not bad it’s not great it’s not even Ok but it’s not Horrible…it’s not overly Sweet; Floral or Fresh. It’s is Powdery. It reminds Me of a 90’s or 00’s Avon Perfume Style. For the Price it’s not Bad just a bit hard for Me to explain. I don’t reach for it often or at all but I can’t get rid of it!

DarkestBee28

Smells like old church ladies. If that’s you’re thing, go for it. ✌🏼

Update: It’s grown on me. I still think it smells like old church ladies, but now I spray it on when I’m home alone and shuffle around the house in complete contentment.

It’s oddly comforting.

I’m single.

sophia <3

Princess is absolutely one of the best cheap perfumes, and one of my all-time favourite perfumes. It smells powdery, chocolatey, floral, and fancy. If the people you're with can't recognize it, they'd think it was designer by how expensive it smells. It does smell the slightest bit 'Old Lady' but I think this adds to the perfume's charm and expensive-smelling factor. It's long-lasting and has great sillage. Quite mature due to it's floral and powdery notes but also works for younger audiences due to it's playfulness and chocolate note.

To me, it smells like lounging next to a fire, having drinks after a date during winter.

Ultimately, Princess is deliciously addicting and attractive. It has great value for money and can be worn by younger and more mature audiences.

Perfectleebeautiful

Powdery chocolate scent that would’ve fit in better in the 80s (See my Prada Candy review. I feel the same about this scent.). I have an older formulation, and to me it smells like chocolate cookie crumbs mixed with a powdery perfume. It’s a bit rich & headache inducing for me. I keep the bottle because it’s pretty, but this isn’t something that I would generally wear. However, I’ve been on an 80s kick recently so it may get worn in the near future.

Katou117

I know it's not a new fragrance but I just added it to my collection very recently. I really enjoyed the smell, BUT I'm letting it go because of the very poor performance. Longevity and projection is a 2/10. This is sad because I really like it, but with the amount of bottles of perfumes I have, I really don't need to keep it. I have other perfumes that perfome much better.

perfumeloverforever

I was also wondering why more people weren't mentioning reformulation? This has definitely changed (like every other perfume, none are safe from reformulation sadly) 😐

Maybe it's because this still smells quite sweet for a fairly long amount of time after applying and that's why people aren't noticing. I wore the new version recently and it was lovely for a couple of hours, it then becomes VERY strong on the floral (bitter floral, Maybe too much tuberose added) and again afterwards it fortunately gets slightly sweeter right at the base notes.

This is my experience with the new version even though it's not horrible I much preferred the first releases. The 2006 version was sophisticated but also very dark chocolate and cotton candy. It was much better BLENDED 😋

Dragonflywings

I'm very confused by this fragrance. I used to own it years ago, back when I didn't know much about notes and wasn't this obsessed with fragrance. I didn't remember exactly what it smelled like, but I used to wear it in the autumn and winter, so figured the notes must be correct. I repurchased it a little while ago (mine is Oct 2020 batch) and I don't get any chocolate whatsoever. I mostly get aquatic and fruity notes, some florals, but that's pretty much it. It's definitely more of a spring/summer fragrance now. I can't find any info on whether it's been reformulated, just very different reviews about the existence of chocolate in it. In any case, it's a really lovely fragrance, but not what I expected.

Emma x

A very light inoffensive floral fragrance. Easy to wear for daytime. Notes that stick out to me are the tuberose and the tiarre flower. I know it has a lot of fruity notes in this but I can't really detect any, or the chocolate note.
The sad thing is it doesn't stay around all day, so you'll have to have a few top ups on hand.

boolprop

Reviewing for my own reference since I have purchased this a total of *3* times in my life, the most recent of which I forgot why I re-sold it prior. Some other reviewers mention how this perfume can pull you back in again and again, even to those who feel it's unremarkable (which I don't, personally). But I do need to remember to leave it in the future.

When I had my first bottle, it was one of my first ever 'true' perfumes which I bought when I got my first professional job. I was 22 and I finished it entirely. I have very fond memories of it, of how pretty it made me feel and how I was complimented for it. It held all day even during the 11-hour workdays I had at that time. That stunning bottle, that affordable price! What's not to love.

Fast forward nearly a decade later, I decided to repurchase this gem for the nostalgia. And not only that, I was looking for a soft all-purpose fragrance. I remembered this being one that I felt worked for any season and any time, and I stand by that. To this day I feel this is a unique and versatile fragrance.

However something has changed; most likely me. Possibly the formula, but I somewhat doubt that. These days there is a note in this that I can only read as "diapers". The perfume as a whole is gorgeous to me, romantic and feminine without being sugary. And yet that tang of "DIAPERS! DIAPER WIPES!" keeps dominating my mind. I'm not even sure which note it is. But it's all I can smell now. It's not like I have kids; I don't know what changed.

If I let it dry down and mellow quite literally all day, then it smells beautiful again and I don't get the diapers. Like I'll pick up a jacket I was wearing when I tried Princess the previous day, and it makes me say "mmmmm". But if I try a fresh spray....sigh.

I would still encourage anyone to try this and I still remember it fondly. I'm sad it doesn't work for me anymore. I'm eagerly awaiting one of the flankers, none of which I ever tried, to see if that retains the DNA I love without the diaper feel. Fingers crossed!

EDIT: Omg the newer reviews, maybe it's not just me! Reformulation could be at play; possibly a stronger tuberose that's jumping out at me these days. Whatever it is, it's a tragedy. This used to be so gorgeous.

nicola.ahad

I have just blind bought this for my 17yo niece as a Xmas present. EDP 100ml £15.99 sooo I'm hoping it's good Christmas purchase. I know she has DKNY apple & Lancome EST Belle (which special occasion wear). So hoping this be a just spray today goto.
Have I made the right choice?

Mythal

I really appreciate this fragrance. It's not extraordinary, and that's strangely a good portion of the reason I use it fairly often. It's comfortable. It's a warm sweater when the weather is cold, it's a hint of tropical when I'm hot, it's a bit of freshness when I'm about to do housework and and would rather shower after. I get tired of fragrances fast, but this is so unobjectionable it floats to the back of my mind and just sits there giving me what I need without needing any attention back. I understand why people say it's generic, I might even say that it is myself but because it smells familiar not because it doesn't offer anything new.

barbas

This perfume was used by Amy Winehouse, and was the only reason why I wanted to buy. It is a good one if you like vanilla, sweet perfumes and Amy.

rihabi

Never had any of her Princess line, so I thought I'd maybe get the original one, since supposedly it should be a classic. Well, not really amazed, kind of sugary, mediocre type of girly fragrance - I guess there are tons like that one on the market. I'll use it, it's fine, just nothing extraordinary.

Amethystery

Something about this perfume brings my mind to a very specific childhood memory involving a box of Princess Lillifee cake-mix!!

The opening smells like laying down on a picknick blanket next to some leftover picknick sweets as the night air approaches. Its flowery scent almost completely disappear though. The dry-down is more "round", like a cup of lukewarm hot chocolate.

I'm usually drawn to dark berry perfumes, I bought this because someone told me it's what Amy Winehouse used to wear at one point! It doesn't feel like "me" but the scent is nice, soft, inoffensive. If you're on the hunt for a sugary fragrance that isn't cloyingly sweet - Vera Wang's Princess is the one for you.

abbieclark67

Thanks to a substantial background of aquatic notes, this fragrance is sweet but not overbearing. This gives me a pleasant, but generic honeydew and vanilla sweetness. Princess lasts the entire workplace day and has a decent forecast. Princess, in my opinion, is a classic and pure smell. Very adaptable. The fragrances that emanate from the garish, purple sapphire container include powdered vanilla frosting, dark chocolate, tropical fruits, and delicate watery flowers.

haleykbhenry

Sooo pretty, timeless, and feminine. I've always had a bottle of this because it's so cozy and sophisticated and performs best in cold weather. This is a more subtle sexy version of CH Good Girl BUT silage is also very buildable. Simple, mindless reach :)

Breli0

I bought this perfume at a discounted price and I would suggest doing the same because this isn’t a safe blind buy!!!

Opening: In the opening I get a burst of generic cheap apple, tuberose and white floral opening. I’m not a fan of the opening because it is very cloying and I get sort of a warm spicy element until it dries down.

Middle: Again very cloying and generic yet fresh and a little hint of chocolate, the white florals are still present yet with the dry down they seem to fade.

Base: OMG, going through 15-20 of the awful opening is worth it because the dry down is soooo sweet and feminine. The vanilla and amber really starts to shine through and it smells amazing. (This is my personal body chemistry in reaction to the perfume and it might be different for everyone).

All in all I like the perfume and is definetly an everyday perfume you can overspray. I hate the opening but the dry down is so sweet and delicate it’s worth getting through the opening. I wish I would get more chocolate but it seems to be a background note and not the star of the show so advocating this perfume as a chocolate perfume is quite innacurate. I hope this helps!!! This is very light and delicate. A bit generic, yes, but refined and pretty. Despite being marketed to teenagers, this could be worn by a woman of any age.
I mostly interpret this as a white floral. The other notes are present, but none of them are identifiable on an individual level. This is extremely well-blended. I actually wondered if the lady at the perfume counter was showing me the floral flanker, since I was expecting chocolate and guava, but she showed me the box and it was indeed original Princess.

I really like this one! It's similar to one of my favorite perfumes: My Dynastie Princess by Marina de Bourbon. They both have a delicate, elegant, somewhat whimsical quality, but in my opinion the Marina de Bourbon perfume does it better.

I would consider purchasing this one at a discount, but probably wouldn't pay full price for it. It'll be a good alternative if My Dynastie Princess ever gets discontinued.

One more thing - the bottle looks much better in person. In pictures it looks sort of clunky and plasticky. In reality, it's gorgeous.

cherry★coco

I could imagine a kid enjoy receiving this as a gift! But it's hard for me to see an adult wear this

Leeanora

Definitely not a safe blind buy for me. It reminds me of when I was younger and I was going out with my friends- and my friends would ask if I wanted some of her mums perfume- this was the mums perfume 🤢 it’s sickly, overbearing and in your face. I love perfumes- but this is my least favourite one on my shelf.

smccmurphy

I first bought this perfume in high school after a friend I admired used it…over a decade and 60+ other perfumes I’ve tried later to see if I can find a “more mature” replacement and I have yet to find something that is as beautiful. Sweet, without being cloying, fresh but not green, fruity but not gourmand. I get so many compliments on this and hope it’s never discontinued. All that said, I did find the older formula to be smoother, longer lasting, and have a more pronounced chocolate. While I miss it, I still love what it is now. I ordered dark chocolate from Demeter and am going to try layering it and see how that goes.

Vellocet

Blind bought it mostly becausy Amy Winehouse wore it (amongst others) and i’ve come to realize that 1. In majority I can’t stand perfumes with too many notes and 2. Especially if they’re designed before/around 2005. My theory is that gourmand perfumes around that time still was heavily influenced by Angel by Mugler. And that one I can’t stand at all. Would be interesting to hear peoples thought’s about this

scentghost

This is a lovely, playful fragrance. The apricot and apple top notes stand out to me the most but there is a hint of water lily. They were smart not to overdo it with the orange. The top notes fade fairly quickly and then the middle notes of chocolate and tuberose come out, giving it a great amount of depth for such a youthful eau de toilette. The base notes are similarly heady but the vanilla isn’t too overpowering. I love the bottle itself because it’s so aesthetically appealing, heavy, and of course because the atomizer nozzle is covered by two decent quality rings. It’s so cute! I would recommend this for a starter scent. It’s great to wear right after a shower. Though certainly a spring and summer fragrance, it has winter vibes as well. Other Vera Wang scents have been discontinued. While I don’t see this one going away any time soon, I would pounce while you can.

laurenskordas

I like this perfume. I only have it as a sample vial, but the one I recieved smelled sweet like some reviews I have seen, but to me it was not sickeningly sweet. I am newer to the perfume hobby, but I could definitely smell some of the fruitness to it and it is most definitely a day perfume. Even though it is sweet, in my opinion can be used throughout the seasons depending on mood. Although, I would probably wear it more in the warmer side of fall, spring, and some of summer. I might wear it in winter when I want a warmer scent, but this is all in theory since, as I said above I only have a sample vial

It seemed to last a decent bit of time and it could roughly be smelled within an arms length of myself.
Overall this is a nice perfume.

Cynthia30

Summary: Terpenic fruity floral with hints of camphor/menthol. Ghost notes of violet and wood.
A smidge of cheap 70s aldehydes, reminiscent of the classic Chanel perfumes. Poor longevity.

Omg what an amazing perfume! I got this for $8 and I love it. It smells super vintage, without being distasteful. Tell everyone you're wearing Chanel No 8.

The opening note is a very tart, with a syrupy booze. Like a nice Chambord, decorated with a fan of sliced apple. A juicy mojito with apple juice and ribena. The first spray is very terpenic, you can almost get high smelling it, like whiteboard marker pens. Then it settles down to a non descript fruity floral, more fruity than floral. A juicy jammy raspberry with non descript petals in the background. It does have the most gorgeous violet smell, without being powdery.

On skin, it is powdery, sour, like cheap makeup. A faint fenugreek rancidity.
I don't get enough guava from this. There are hints of slightly green, camphorous or mentholated middle notes which blend in perfectly with the juicy berries.
You definitely get more than what you paid for.

annasarahr121

I'm such a huge fan of Vera Wang Glam Princess that the original Princess just falls flat for me. It doesn't smell bad, but it just doesn't have what I can only describe as the "sparkle" that Glam Princess has. It starts out a little aquatic, to my nose and, 30 minutes in, it's prettier than at the opening. I do get the same slightly sweet marshmallow note, and maybe more chocolate and less fruit than in GP. Other than that, I don't have much to say. Overall, I guess it's OK, but I say go out and get your hands on Glam Princess for the same fluffy marshmallow plus a LOT more beauty and sparkle!

V.Norway92

Sweet, fruity. Perfum-y before it dries down to a delicious vanilla scent.

Long lasting (10+ hours).

scliesrwat

just a sweet fruity perfume, nothing sophisticated. i realize why this is a great first fragrance for many girls. this is the first time i'm spraying it on my skin so i need to try it out a few more times.
blind buy.

Lindsconn

If you love sweet fragrances you will love this! It’s one of the sweetest around! It’s full on chocolate cupcake with vanilla frosting! It performs amazingly well and the bottle is so cute! It personally is a little sweet for me these days but if you’re a fan of those kinds of fragrances I’m sure you will love this!

CrazyRussianChick

I feel kinda silly to wear a purple perfume in a heart shaped bottle with a rhinestone wearable ring named Princess in my late fourties', but I don’t care. It’s this pretty, and it makes me feel like Im an 8 year old girl wearing fairy costume at the birthday party :) Instant time travel!

graceoduor

Was initially so disappointed coz i blind bought it. It gave me a headache and nausea on day 1.
Tried again spraying very light....It has Taken some getting used to but now i love it so much 🥲 cant stop smelling myself

realitygreene

I got a 100 ml bottle free from a friend of a friend who had an allergic reaction to this perfume. Never tried it before besides smelling magazine testers in early high school when Princess was released. This isn't bad! It's not a favorite by any means. I think the chocolate is a lot more dominant on my skin than I prefer. This fragrance is a lot more gourmand than I thought it would be. I do like it though, at least enough to keep the bottle. I need about 10 sprays in order to smell anything at all so I'm glad I have the big bottle!

soniamcalear

This has always reminded me of the scent of Charmin Bath Tissue. It’s a beautiful scent. This is one of absolute favorite scents in my collection. Soft, Powdery and Baby like. You either Love It or Hate It😀

SofieSecret

It isn’t special to me. It was recommended a lot but didn’t work on my skin. It didn’t last very long max 1 hour on me, not even on clothes. It wasn’t a bad smell but not a special one either

AvocadoEnthusiast91

I wish I hadn't bought this as a blind buy, I bought 100ml of this and all I can smell is alcoholic bug spray. So disappointed as it sounded nice and its so pretty

DPrince01

It is comical to me that with every perfume I’ve ever worn and loved, this is literally the only one I have ever been complimented on. Every time I wear this someone compliments me. It is so reminiscent of the late 2000s.
The first spray is straight up alcohol. Then it turns into a scent that smells vaguely like glossy magazine pages. After 15 minutes, the fresh water Lilly and guava start to come through and dominate, while sugary vanilla and chocolate support them in the background. The chocolate in this is inoffensive in my opinion, so don’t be discouraged by that note. This is a very pretty and light fragrance with a beautifully shaped bottle, perfect for a young teenage girl but also doesn’t discriminate in my opinion. I’m a firm believer in wearing whatever you want despite age or gender.
Longevity is not so great but this perfume is so affordable that I don’t mind reapplying when necessary. I was under the impression at first that projection wouldn’t be great because it’s such a light fragrance but every time I walk into a room, I get someone telling me I smell nice.

Lakreutter

Where’s the chocolate? Where’s the vanilla? Apricot? Apple? Mandarin? Amber? Woodsy notes? What a HUGE disappointment. To me, this is a VERY mature floral. I get water Lily, tiare flower and tuberose. I think it’s the tuberose that sorry, comes across as an old lady scent. If anything this should have been called Queen or really Queen Mother because there’s nothing youthful about this. And there is nothing fruity or gourmand about this. Even at $13 this was a complete waste of money and a total failure. Yuck

Sade800

I finally got to try this and it didn't disappoint.
It smells like a smooth, creamy 'chocolatey ' skin scent kind of fragrance.
I love these kind of perfumes and would definitely buy a bottle.
Cute bottle design and excellent value for money too!

torreykongjr

The opening is hard to describe. Sometimes it's the floral water lily other times it's a clean sweet apple and mandarin orange.

It wears down super quickly on my skin, into a sexy floral. I think the confusing effect that happens for me is between the florals mixing with the dark chocolate . It gives the florals more depth so they are not too heady.

The wear down is woody, powder, sweetness. Its not super gourmand smooth but it's not sharp/heady either.

If you use this behind the ears and on the wrist, the perfume sillage lingers for quite some time. A good 5 hours for sure. If you spray heavy you'll definitely retain the scents lingering dry-down for day or night. The bottle looks so pretty for display, the weight feels really nice in your hand (3.4oz).

I remember when this scent first came out all the girls in my school loved this fragrance. It was unique for its time for being playfully sweet yet sophisticated, there were not many perfume brands with that younger scent profile then. Juicy came out the same year with a similar sweet sophisticated vibe but I feel Princess did it better. Well, two years later Viva La Juicy arrived and everyone forgot about Princess LOL.

jesz

Nutmeg Cake Donut with Vanilla Glaze. Turns into a Sweet Cigar scent effect on the drydown.
If you like this opening note, you'll probably like Britney Spears Hidden Fantasy, which has a similar Nutmeg Cake Donut vibe going on. Not my thing. I find these scent profiles cloying.

LynnLevy

Took this perfume quite a bit to grow on me, but once it did it took over my entire heart. I actually only bought it for the ring and planned to use the perfume itself as a room spray, but it's such a good perfume there's no way I'm not applying it on myself! It's a different smell from any other perfume I have, since I like the sweeter perfumes. And while it's scent is also considered a bit on the sweet side, it also has some sour, citrus scent, which makes it the unique perfume in my small but growing collection. I personally don't feel the chocolate note at all, and while usually I'd like to feel it, here personally I'm happy I don't. To those who like sweet, fruity scents but want a little change, that's a good one for you!

And also, it SCREAMS summer! So if you're looking for a great scent for warm weather, for spring as well, it's the one for you (:

smellworthy

One of my relatives got me this perfume when I was a kid, and I loved it at the time. I remember always taking off the "crown" and wearing it around my fingers like a lil ring. I remember it smelling very sweet and sort of ambery. Have considered maybe buying it again for the nostalgia/irony but I don't think I'd actually wear it often enough so idk

karlee79

Mix this with Prada femme instense and it's magical

likesleet

for teenagers! scent is pretty chemically and very sweet, but otherwise pleasant. pear/guava/tuberose with sweet vanilla drydown.

yeesa_

chocolate, sweet, soft, somewhat powdery. I like it but I do get the similarity to clean reserve skin and I much prefer that one

KTobie

This truly smells lovely!!! It was what I hoped I would get from Sarah Jessica Parker Lovely one.. for some reason that one smells too old on me.. but this one... Yumm! It might just make it to my signature since it's so cheap and has been out forever so hopefully it's not going anywhere.

edit: now that I've used it for a while I don't like it enough for signature scent but I still like it, and I don't feel bad to over-spray.

Child Chemist

Princess is... a moody one. Sometimes she smells generic, other times the chocolate and guava make magic on your skin. I recommend the spray over the roller, as the best part of the fragrance is the heart. I wish VW updated the packaging (the cap!) and offered an EdP version.

soniamcalear

One of the Top 5 most beautiful scents I’ve ever wore!!!!! I could Drown in this Summer Scent!!! MAD LOVE AT FIRST SPRAY❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

Xowah

I was glad to get a sample of this, it does not smell like the notes listed. I get no vanilla or sweetness, I smell woody and floral in a masculine/unisex way. Also it projects terribly not sure if its my nose desensitized or it’s the vial sample but can’t smell it on the dry down/2 minutes after applying it. I put it on my other arm and can smell it just fine at first but not smell the dry down version. After some minutes of it drying I can smell it faintly, and it becomes a sweet floral. It’s too faint to read the notes though. I don’t think it’s an overwhelming floral, more of a smooth vanilla combination one. It’s so hard to smell compared to my other vial sample perfumes and I do not know why.

Skinscents4Fusspots

This perfume doesn't match the name or bottle to my mind. It looks like it's for young girls but it's rather grown up to my nose! It's woody in a way that is a touch masculine on me, even with the sweetness of chocolate chucked in! I find that the deep dry down lasts for ages on my skin so I'm surprised by the comments saying it doesn't last.

kristenkr

Living up to its name, Princess is regal, youthful (but never juvenile, making it an easy wear for all ages): its splendid combination of apricot, mandarin orange, and water lily—with just a touch of dark cocoa wafting above—feels elegant, playful, and sensual in equal measure. That glorious scent profile alongside its absolutely darling bottle make it a total home run winner for me, and *such* a steal for the price you can pick a full bottle up for these days. I'm not quite sure I'd reach for it in the heat of summer, being that it's such a heady fragrance (in a good way!), but if we're talking fall-winter to early spring, this is an easy A+ for Vera.

SnowFleur

I had this perfume in 2012 or so but it was often overlooked. I also got it into my head that it never lasted long but I would use it, enjoy it,discover it has decent longevity and then immediately forget it’s good qualities. Then this year I got my old, half full discoloured bottle out and tried it. A bit off but it made me remember how much I loved it. So I bought a new bottle a few weeks ago and I have been using it regularly ever since. I enjoy reading other peoples reviews, opinions vary wildly, it’s like we are all describing a different perfume:)

tresi

This is not what I was expecting but I like it. I understood it to be marketed towards teens & young 20ish persons. The amber here, to me, is quite sensual, sexy even. I don't think I'd gift it to a teen unless they were quite a grown up teen. It's pretty, it's enjoyable. It's womanly. It's romantic.

Brittanybrighton2.yo

This last year I have heavily been getting into fragrances. Well I use to own this perfume years ago. But something in this always made me feel sick, and was very headache inducing. But I’m not sure why or what In this that triggered it. I am a absolute lover of fruity florals and gourmands. But oddly this did this. Prada candy did the same. And also the original Viva la juicy, but not as much.

Anyone here that is a fragrance wiz can help point out the possible notes that may be the trigger? Though it’s not in the same realm .. when I was younger- my mom put on Red Door every morning and I would get seriously nauseas with a migraine that lasted through the school day. I believe I was able to narrow that problem being the ANISE in it. Because I’m my early 20s.. my at the time Bfs parents got me (I may be butchering this name) Lempitica .. the purple apple shape bottle.. and I had to pretend to love it for the rest of the day as my bf drenched me in it.. and years later - I realized it was the same common ingredient .. retched ANISE.
Looking to solve this next problem!! Thanks in advance.

fformoso88

I used to have this fragrance it was gifted to me when I graduated high school and I absolutely loved it. I used up the bottle and didn’t repurchase but now I think I want to rebuy it purely for nostalgic reasons. I remember I used to get complimented when I wore this fragrance all the time.

Edit: I repurchased and it’s even better than I remember! Fruity, vanilla, guava, chocolate and kind of aquatic even kind of smoky?. Just gorgeous! And for an edt not bad longevity or silage pretty good and also smells so amazing! It’s very addictive actually! Very nostalgic! This takes me back! Loves it! 💕

Toffeeblue

This smells so good the chocolate amber and vanilla stands out on me. Love this

cosmic4ngel

Omg not sweet at all. Maybe just a little bit but dang this is way more floral and powdery than I expected. Not a sweet fragrance which I was hoping to smell but a warm floral. It can be too strong in my opinion but I do like lighter scents. Ended up gifting it to my sister who likes florals. (Kinda smells like old lady to me btw so). Not a horrible scent to smell off from somebody but don’t catch me wearing this. (Overall 5.5/10, maybe 6)

magicianscard

I've wanted this perfume since I was a little girl seeing as it was a fragrance that my grandmother used to keep in her bathroom cabinet. It's decidedly feminine and super youthful despite how powdery and floral it can get on the dry down. I don't really get a lot of the Tiare flower note which is a little disappointing since I love that scent, it defintely comes accross like a floral-fruity scent on the skin but it doesn't last very long.

In order to prolong the wear time I like to layer it with Tiare oil and warm vanilla sugar from BABW so that it can complement the tiare and vanilla notes in the perfume. I like to think of this as a really high femme spring daytime fragrance.

Kharmynn

I bought this because of the scent pyramid. Chocolate and vanilla with amber and tuberose? Sounds amazing!

Except.. I can't pick up any of that. To me this is a pure guava perfume.
Unfortunately, that is all I get.
I don't really like guava, and definitely don't want to smell like it, but if you do, this is the perfume for you.

I'm disappointed, and this was a waste of money for me.

Paddibear

This is such a fun scent! I remember seeing the ads with Camilla Belle in my Teen Vogue and falling in love! I wore this quite a bit in high school and it reminds me of that time. Unfortunately, high school is not a time I’d care to remember but that’s not the perfumes fault! The perfume is sweet and flirty! I think the sweetness to it makes it a great perfume for young girls but there is also a maturity to it (possibly from the woodsy notes) that makes it appropriate for any age! On me, this is mostly a fruity vanilla with a bit of bite from the chocolate! I don’t really remember if this is a powerhouse or not but I do remember receiving compliments back in the day. Sadly, Princess is just not for me anymore but I think it is really beautiful!

KylieBooFace

I use to wear this about ten years ago once in a while, but I think the rollerball turned (I dislike rollerballs for that reason). I had another bottke arrive today (too bad Ulta doesn't sell it anymore). According to my nose, which seems 95% recovered from COVID months ago, is is the same vanilla-based amber-chocolate fragrance I remember. I smell warmth, creaminess, and decent sweetness, but I find it soft and noncloying. The guava isn't as prominent as I remember, but there is some noticable fruitiness. think the blend is very soft and nice overall, and better than an Escada I tried (one of the "Me" flankers I believe). I can see myself grabbing this when I am unsure what to reach :)

ALEXAA89

Floral/ fruity/ sweet perfume, but not as juvenile as some. I really like this one, and get compliments often wearing it. You cant moan for the price, its super cheap, i just wish it had more longevity!

This is my work perfume, and tbh by the time i get there the smell is more of a skin scent. It does last a little longer on clothes though

catysuewho

As basic as basic gets, but sometimes basic is good. Sometimes basic is great, even, in this case. I have vivid memories of the pretty, popular girls wearing this fragrance when I was in high school. It makes me feel happy, young, and carefree. At first it is a really interesting blast of white florals and tropical fruits. It gives a very 'green' impression, but there is such a sweet powderiness beneath it that really sets it apart. This may be a good 'white floral' for those who can't usually tolerate them - I count myself in that category, and I love this fragrance. The drydown is a cloud of ethereal light clean sweetness. A chocolate-vanilla dusting of powdered sugar floating on a soap bubble. Comforting and alluring. At the price, this is a safe blind buy for anyone who is interested in it. If you like challenging niche fragrances, you probably aren't interested in it. Would be a great gift for princesses of any age.

coffeefifofum

Pleasant, pretty, and very wearable. Nice opening. Dry down is on the greener spectrum of floral with a substantial "perfumy" note. Longer lasting than most freshies, greener smelling than most florals. It's not wildly original, but at least there's no pink pepper or ambroxan diving off the stage in this one and it's not over sweetened. I'm certain to finish the sample and I might buy a bottle.

The accords and pyramid don't seem right to me, but it is a very well blended and balanced scent making any particular notes harder to pick out.

Caroliinaa

I purchased this for my little sister, obviously the princess of my life, as one of her first perfumes. Princess along with Pink Sugar are her favourite fragrances as a little girl. The bottle is so cute and pretty.

The fragrance itself is quite light, bright and smells stereotypically perfumey albeit with some unique notes in it. It smells like a sweet floral with the flowers and the chocolate and vanilla combo, without being a gourmand.

It performs more like an eau de toilette, but that is not to say that the performance is poor. It lasts decently well for around 3-4h and projects mildly.

Beautiful simple fragrance if you want to feel a little bit like a princess.

6.5/10

Frenchghost

This smells like guava& chocolate& dirt with body odor to me milky dirty guavas...my cousin who i love& totally get along with always smelled like this...but she was to young for perfume like 8& she always smelled like this...years later i know why..she said she wore this& well i just mentally relate this to a sweaty happy cousin running up to me&giving me a hug, never liked it never...so atleast i know my sweet little cuzzy wasn't the sweaty body odor with guava in a feminine funky way...its the perfumes fault...sweaty summer body hugs,im sorry its kool if its for you, just not my experience, lasts 6hrs pretty bottle otherwise&doesnt smell like a princess~

ismellgood98

i love this perfume because my sweetie got it for me <3 thank you honey!!!

PumpkinVanillaCoffee1992

My mom got me this for Christmas in high school.
It's clearly marketed toward a younger crowd like others have said but I remember it was so strong and seemed like a "grown up scent" I could barely wear it without it giving me a headache. (And then the times I actually wore it were not good times, so that negative association doesn't help.)
It's basically chocolate-vanilla powder with a touch of tropical fruit.
It's not bad I don't hate it but I don't love it and it's kind of a chore to wear. It still gives me headaches unfortunately.
Perhaps leaving out the fruit and just making it chocolate and vanilla would've been more appealing. Or perhaps leaving out the note that makes it so powdery.
Once it's been on my skin for a while (like 12+ hours) it becomes a very nice chocolate-vanilla amber scent that I would probably be in love with if only it started out that way...
It does remind me of Cinderella or other princesses a bit. Sweet, clean and powdery. So I wish I loved it. It's going on my "ok" shelf - I'll continue to use it here and there and reminisce, feel nostalgic. Maybe one day I'll wake up and love it.

The smell of roses

Love this gem 💎 Nice bottle, amazing scent, and it is low price. Win win.
This is gourmand perfume that smells of chocolate 🍫 to me. Nicely blended and does not smell cheap. If this was a niche unique perfume only available for £100+ I would still buy it. Lucky 🍀 we don’t need to pay this much, it is available from Amazon for ~£20. Just make sure the seller is Amazon and not 3rd party.

alanabriann

First things first: I purchased this solely for nostalgia. I vividly remember this scent from when I was in grade school and my mom was gifted this. The smell is forever ingrained in my memory.

Opening: You are definitely met with the guava and Lilly notes. It smells floral, but now quite… because immediately after you are met with the chocolate MIDDLE notes which makes it sweet and not too powdery which tends to happen with notes like lilly.
Closing: after the dry down you are left with the vanilla and amber notes which makes this a pretty scent that is not overpowering but still strong enough to be complimented.

Silage: It doesn’t project that far so this would be perfect for an office scent. Could also be used as a date night scent since it’s so romantic.

Longevity: lasts 6+ hours on me.

Overall: for the price it’s a steal!

Trishaaa

This to me, feels like the sort of one you'd wear to the office or just during the day. Quite inoffensive and pretty basic if I'm being honest. Not much going on here apart from florals and a slight hint of cacao, but in no way does it throw it off from being really floral. This one definitely has that clean clothes freshness sort of vibe to it as well so you could easily just chuck it on your clothes too and call it a day.

PrincessLeia22

I can’t stand tuberose fragrances

Ticketgirl

I have an odd relationship with this perfume. First off, I grabbed it a great bargain at TJMaxx or someplace similar. Totally blind purchase. It was the BIG bottle. Being oddly shaped, it took up way too much space on my perfume tray. I had only briefly tested it and decided I needed the room more than I needed the perfume, and so I gave it away to a friend with two young girls. I kept a purse spray I had filled from the bottle. After months, I finally wore the perfume today...and realized I had made a mistake. It starts out flowery-fruity, but three hours into this, I'm enjoying the base notes. Very much. I'm learning that I am an amber fan. It is lasting longer than most perfumes last on me. Everybody needs a pretty, unassuming little fragrance that hangs in with you...one that you can wear to a meeting or a dinner. This is the one. I just ordered another bottle...in a smaller size this time.

LSAUG

I was bargain shopping in T.J Maxx today and happened upon this. It was $20 so I thought why not. I wish I had my $20 back. This perfume smells cheap. Obnoxious headache inducing watery florals w/ guava. There is a bit of orange and vanilla, which is the only saving grace for this perfume, but the ingredients smell of a low quality. I have a wide variety fragrances in my collection ranging from really inexpensive cheapies to expensive naturals and niche and this really smells low quality. It's one of those perfumes that doesn't know if it wants to be a fresh floral scent, or a tropical scent or a gourmand and it just ends up failing on all counts. But the real problem w/ this perfume isn't just the composition of the fragrance but the quality of the materials that went into it. This is not even up to cheap body spray level. I expect more from Vera Wang because her jewelry is nice and so is her clothing line. I won't be trying anymore of her perfumes.

athernaut

to me this smells like delicious floral chocolate, so nice and fresh. worth it for the price

TabledThoughts

Guava and cocoa.
Cute fragrance.
You even get a ring and a crown!
Cheap blind buy.
Little girl scent for big girls.

MaxieF

Dry down is fresh and clean smelling. The projection is not that bad, it lasts a few hours and does project softly. It doesn't smell like chocolate or vanilla. It does smell like hairspray. I can imagine in the summer it might be nice. Not my favorite but not that bad at all. Not powdery.

pilardavg

Not a lot to add to what has been said about this fragrance. It opens with watery florals and I can feel the apple too. Then, a delicious dark chocolate with a warm but not too strong vanilla. The guava fruit makes this feel fresh. It lasts about 5 hours on my skin, it's soft and powdery. For the price it's really good. There's something about Princess that just feels fine!

Alexis0815

I’ve loved this perfume since I was 10 years old. I remember smelling it in the sample pages of Seventeen magazine when it first came out and wishing I could buy my own bottle. I didn’t get to own it until many years later, but I still love it all the same. This is such a warm, calming scent - it’s a hug in a bottle. On me, it’s a powdery chocolate with pleasant subtle flowery undertones. It lasts around 5/6 hours on my skin. It’s my everyday scent and I’ll always recommend it.

belfrybatz

very pretty vanilla-orange scent. i only have a sample and this is my first time with it so maybe it'll take another go + larger spray, but i didn't get the chocolate everyone is talking about! didn't last very long which was disappointing. nice sweet perfume, but too gourmand for me.

k3llfae

sweet, pretty, doesn't stay long but sometimes that's all I want. I paid $25 and that seems reasonable but regular retail is definitely asking too much. I get a little sugar, a little apple, some chocolate in the dry down. I won't repurchase because I'm probably going to outgrow this bottle tbh but it's cute and the topper really is lovely.

Faciens

Obnoxiously sweet with little to no complexity.

cheleine

Watery florals, bright fresh fruits and a hint of dark chocolate. Delicate, inoffensive, innocent and comforting for the younger audience or a stay at home cozy scent. It’s kind of musky and natural and slightly sweet. Really really beautiful. You could think that a person just smells nice naturally or from bath products wearing this.
A pleasant surprise.

sondermelon

I’m trying to get through a bottle I should’ve finished several years ago of this. It’s not my favorite scent, but it’s not a bad one. As it’s aged, the chocolate and vanilla notes seem to have become more pronounced on me. I actually do kind of enjoy it, but this perfume isn’t strong at all. The only way it lasts is when it’s sprayed onto clothes. Just because I got this at a young age, I think this a very young and girly scent. I liked it when I was young and I’m quite fine with it right now. Girlier girls tend to compliment me when I wear this. A fresh bottle of this is pretty floral and powdery if I recall properly. I kept this stored in hot, humid, and light-exposed weather when I was younger because I liked the bottle shape so unfortunately the juice of mine has been through a lot. It’s not an offensive smell and it’s something with generic appeal, even several years degraded.

I'm on my second bottle of this fragrance. To me, the chocolate note is the most recognizable. Although it has vanilla in the notes, I can hardly detect it or it's been combined nicely with chocolate. Otherwise, I'd stay away from it. I have never detected any fruity scent at all. On the other hand, I don't how the florals here actually smell like but there's a scent of maturity mixed in with the chocolate so I guess that's the floral aspect. It's not overly sweet and it's quite a compliment getter. Longevity on me tends to change from time to time so I've rated it as moderate. Many people categorize this scent for teenagers but I think adult women can still wear this too. The biggest con I can say is that its alcohol scent overpowers the other scents as time goes by.

Since I've been using it for so long, it's time for me to graduate from it and explore more fragrance. But this is definitely worth the money to those who are interested.

Idk if I got a bad batch but this perfume literally smells like nothing lol. Idk what I’m suppose to make of that but it’s a 0/10 for me because it’s like spritzing myself with water and expecting to smell amazing 🤣

Perfumedsecrets

I loved the soft chocolate marshmallow sweetness of this in 2006. This must be reformulated, because I have a new bottle. What I get the most is a fruity soft floral. It’s innocent and pampered. Easy to wear. Who cares if it’s simple or not very complex. It’s marketed to teenagers.

This was one of the first perfumes I got. It could be that my tastes changed (I don't remember how much I liked it vs just used it because I didn't have other options) but I really dislike this scent. Mildly headache inducing. It's definitely more of a winter scent at least to me!

sweetrich7

It’s not a showstopper, but it’s a good scent! I see people not getting any chocolate from this, but holy moly does my body chemistry project the chocolate!

It started off fruity and watery and I was like “meh.” But as it developed it got deeper and then came the chocolate and the florals. Dried down to an intoxicating chocolatey amber vanilla. Personally I think this is for anyone who wants to feel fun, bubbly, but still a little sensual. I also think it could be worn year round. Scents like this one are hard to pinpoint to a season.

For a TJ Maxx blind ($24.99 for 100 ml) I’ll use this one! Excited to have it in my collection.

dreammariie

vanilla, chocolate and guava... sweet & simple. Definitely for a younger audience.

Very boring scent - nothing special. Just like the other reviewers, I dont smell the chocolate either, but when I smell it I feel like I've taken a bite of a very sugary sweet chocolate. you don't wanna swallow it, yet you don't bother to spit it out. The sweet note might be okay for middle to high school kids. The only pro about this one is that it does'nt give me a headache. So sometimes I layer it with other fresh scents and they work okay.

tyrachai

Very very faint chocolate on contact but overall this is much more powdery than I expected. I only got it because I remember it being so popular in middle school. I got it on Amazon for alarmingly cheap... It may be old... or fake? Even thought about layering but I’m bored to death of this fragrance overall, I’m not a chocolate enthusiast and it actually gave me a headache after a few minutes.

jessr777

Very pretty and polite scent. A nice mixture of the fruit, florals, chocolate and vanilla. Something about fruity sweet scents just always reminds me of BBW body sprays tho. A great fragrance for someone in their teens.

Rhiannandb

Not getting any chocolate , vanilla , amber , or fruits or anything but a very faint light floral i guess I can kind of smell it it's really lacking in any character I personally don't get the sweetness people are taking about . I can barely smell this fragrance it's there kinda and gone like the florals are there but not really

nickinicole

Sweet and powdery. It's a scent that I would have loved in high school, but not for me in my mid-30s.

I don’t know why I was expecting a sweetness from this scent. It is so cloying and gives me grandma vibes.

chakukan

Nauseatingly sweet, was a gift. Took one sniff and ran out of the house for fresh air. Headache inducing. I hate sweet smells and this is some king of hell. The bottle was pretty.

Just repurchased this for nostalgia’s sake and I’m soooo happy!

Instantly brings me back to being a teenager in my ultra girly bedroom, wearing my pink Juicy Couture velour track set and listening to Hoku or Paris Hilton 😂💖💖💖

The chocolate note in this is just so…polite… it’s almost funny. It’s like it’s hiding in the background, trying not to be disruptive or obnoxious but I want more of it!

I hardly ever wear fruity florals anymore so it took me some time to regain my appreciation for this but it’s earned back its place in my heart.

This wears as an ethereal/airy/fuzzy white floral forward scent then softens with some fruitiness — never really comes off as being warm though. It’s quite neutral and almost veiled, really hard to distinguish between individual notes.

I don’t recommend burying your nose deep into your wrist to better identify this one and instead mist it over yourself and catch whiffs of it to appreciate it.

One of my favourite daytime scents that I tend to throw on when I'm feeling a bit uninspired or I need a pick me up. This is a very gentle, sweet, floral vanilla fragrance that isn't "too much" of anything - the perfect comforting smell. I agree with those below in that this isn't groundbreaking or any sort of powerhouse, but for a spring day at the office, this is beautiful. Plus, it's super affordable!

PS - Put this on at 7am today, my partner was still able to smell this on me at 5pm. It's definitely more of a skin scent by now, but it CAN last!

ruppyrog

I don't get vanilla, chocolate, or amber on my skin. For me it's a sweet, watery, floral. It's not super fruity to my nose, maybe you get the apricot, but it's mostly a light floral to me. It's still beautiful and simple, but it took me a few sniffs for it to grow on me. I will probably keep it for the bottle and wear it in the spring months.

Second time i am sniffing it and now i love it! My only mistake was the first time i sniffed this i did that right after smelling Illicit by Jimmy Choo, which was super loooove at first smell! So it made Princess smell like meh side by side. They both came at the mail at the same time.

Today i tried this and i am loving it. Now i appreciate its beauty on its own. This smells so warm and cozy. The chocolate note blends well with the fruits and florals. It has that feel good and comfortable factor which is perfect for lounging around the house while watching netflix and drinking hot cocoa. It smells so soft, feminine and dainty and i think this can generally please a lot of people.

Of course the heart shapes bottle looks so amazing in my collection. Love the cute tiny crown cap. The lilac juice makes it appear so girly. I think this is a perfect gift for teens and young girls. But woman of any age can also enjoy this.

This was my first perfume. My grandma bought it for me when I was 9 because I fell in love with the bottle design when they sold it at Macy’s. The purple juice is so pretty & it always smelled sweet and fruity. I never came across it until recently when I saw a 3.4oz for $27 at Walmart. The notes that really stand out the most are guava and chocolate. I love spraying this all over my clothes. I tend to overspray but this is perfect for work/college when you don’t want to use your more expensive perfumes but don’t want to use fragrance mists. Longevity is decent for an EDT. It’s not strong. You have to get really close to smell it. I wouldn’t wear for date night or special occasions because I prefer something stronger.

edit: been a little over a year and I still have a little bit left of my 100ml bottle. I bought her for the nostalgia when I started to extensively grow my collection. Now I only wear it specifically to bed. Makes me feel like a Princess going to sleep. One of the best chocolate perfumes ever. Literally smells like milky chocolate especially when you layer it with a sweet lotion like vanilla or almonds!!

I got a rollerball of this perfume for my eighth birthday, and have loved it ever since. It is soft, delicate, and beautiful, on top of being very nostalgic. I can't say it smells very sophisticated, or has any kind of niche leanings, but I still think that it is an excellent addition to any collection. It's a watery floral, sweetened by light fruity notes and a chocolatey base. It's casual but effortlessly feminine and I can see this working all year round. Even in high heat, the fruity notes keeps the sweetness effervescent, rather than suffocating.
There's a definite juvenile aspect to this, and I wavered a long time between keeping it, but it makes me so happy when I wear it, I've always held onto it. Please don't pass up this beauty because it's an older/cheaper fragrance - I think that it's excellent.

kateyw

I got Princess on a whim, honestly because the bottle is cute and looks nice on my shelf hahah. I smell a chocolatey note at first, but it soon turns rather soapy. Not like a bar of nice soap, like kinda cheap and harsh soap. Maybe that's just how it works on my skin, but all in all, it's inoffensive and light. An alright fragrance for the office or school, wouldn't wear it in the evening.

pink_cloe_angel

My very first perfume I fell in love with. I wore this in high school and in college. Everyone loved this on me. It's cozy yet at the same time it's performance is strong. Longevity wise, it lasts all day. Projection is beast. This really lasted all day on me. This was my signature scent before, and now that I own several perfumes, I still go back this.

xxsaphxx

A popular girl in high school wore this and I fell in love wanting to be her. This is a nice clean inoffensive smell, nice a sweet. Chocolatey too! Ahhh I miss it
