WOW!

This is a WINNER!

Not dated. Very unique and beautiful.

You have to wait for the dry down (which takes 40 minutes at least)

A TRUE underrated and sorta (nowadays) hidden gem.

This fragrance is a fruity floral with a powerful and truly gorgeous candied violet as the star flower, along with rose and other flowers. But the violet really sings in the dry down.

I am not a big fan of violet usually, but in this fragrance its irresistibly beautiful to me.

A well balanced perfume that maintains tart fruit, florals, and powdery musk all day long. At least the “giver”(as opposed to the “versus” bottles, which are newer) vintage bottles.

There is also a delicious, waxy, jolly rancher, lipstick note in this which ive always adored in womens perfumes.

Its a very high quality fragrance, sexy, feminine, and flirty without being trashy, and it lasts and projects all day without being a beast. For the price (even the vintage bottles, when you can find them, are not too expensive) its really worth the $$

Unfortunately, its clearly not blind buy safe, though, judging from the reviews.

I read every review i could find before committing, and i noticed really experienced male and females noses praising this one over many years.

Thats what convinced me it was worth the blind buy.

Not disappointed. This is gorgeous.

PS. Realize pretty much everything was higher quality in 1994.

Chickens are Cool

I feel so sexy in this cologne. I want to keep on wearing it. Yay for Slay. Chicken out

Chickens are Cool

This is a truly beautiful perfume and my husband likes it as well.

The lion logo is a nice touch in terms of physical product detail

smellimelk

this one is for the lana-del-rey bumpin', lolita-readin', american-beauty-idolizin', jailbait tumblr girlies circa 2014. when men who are too old for them ask, "what are you wearing?" and they say, "versace." with a side eye. classic clean floral with soft musk, duh.

This EDT is definitely floral and fruity. To me, it smells like pear even though it's not one of the notes. It does dry down to a powdery smell but is not overwhelming, which to me is amazing. I bought it as a blind buy and although it's not a scent profile I usually go for, I like it. It's feminine and refreshing, sweet and light and, it feels perfect for spring.

Antoshka2

Sweet floral and fruity. If you don’t like it as perfume you’ll like it as car or home spray. It’s really a beautiful sweet syrupy delight to smell and it’s so cheap now even if you used it as toilet air freshener it would be worthwhile. Some say it’s old fashioned but I think it was far beyond its time and it’s so pleasing and delicious to smell. It’s about £15 in Savers right now and you can smell before you buy. I don’t wear this but I have it and spray a lot of stuff around the home and made my own car air freshener from it. It’s so delicious. Definitely not to everyone’s taste but fun fruity syrupy sweet classic. Clean and powdery. I’m surprised young people don’t love this. Possibly not suitable for work, but inoffensive and not overpowering, although it can be if used too much as it’s so floral and sweet.

Hifza

I did liked this one when I was a teenager, at that time it was my most-liked fragrance but now I cannot tolerate it's scent for even few seconds, I get migraine and it is kind of killing for me. I am sure people are still addicted to it as it was the classics of 90s and are still wearing it everywhere.

miffycat

sweet and cute for my 13year old self

CassidySmells

Simply a fruity floral. Bright and happy on the first spray without being obnoxious, but dissipates far too quickly, even for an EDT.

mila.amare

I bought this as a gift for my best friends little sister, she’s 12 and the fruity floral notes sounded like they’d be ideal for a teenager

I was quite surprised by how much I ended up liking this, I wouldn’t wear it myself but it’s beautifully sweet and floral, but not in a sickly way, reminds me of girls spraying perfume in PE changing rooms as a teen, in the best way! It has a very nostalgic smell

Usernotknown7

Very vintage vibes , it’s not bad but nothing too special I would say it’s a bit outdated now , it’s a nice boring floral scent ,not head turning at all , it’s good just for the sake of wearing a perfume , the rose note is quiet prominent in their nevertheless it’s not a bad scent but just nothing groundbreaking , and it’s very nostalgic

Casual Classic Transcends Humble Inspiration with Contradictory Vintage Flair...

Red Jeans Versace is a Floral-Fruity scent by Jean-Pierre Bethouart that was released in 1994 along with Blue Jeans Versace - a version targeted to men. Inspired by classic and iconic denim jeans, these scents were the initial offerings of the Versace Jeans line. Red Jeans Versace I could imagine being worn by Robin Wright's character Jenny from Forrest Gump (1994), and like the film, the scent has timeless, iconic & playful facets with contradictory quirky vintage flair. I remember with chagrin, wearing actual red jean-shorts back in the early '90s. Luckily the scent Red Jeans Versace transcends its humble inspiration with quirky, casual & playful style, in much the same manner as the film Forrest Gump (1994), a must-see for any film buff.

Opens with a burst of peachy fruity-florals, that segues to a floral bouquet heart centred on rose & violet. There's a slight perfume-y vibe in the background, while everything rests on a classic white-musk & vanilla-sandalwood base. This has well above average performance for year-round wear, but really shines in temperate weather.

Ima go now and spray this on, find my old red jean-shorts, a trucker's hat and go for a run. It's a love for me. Enjoy!

This is sooo 90s !!!, It opens with fruit, I get watermelon even when is not listed, I also get gummie bears... someone said fruit salad, powdery. Definitely not a powerhouse it stays close to skin does not last more than 2 hrs on my skin. Just got it today and I think this could be good for layering.

yzmo91

If Tommy Girl has an intense version, I think this could be it. A bold fruity, but retains a little bit of freshness fragrance. Wearable all year around I think.

Loliky

El secado No está mal y para el precio tiene buena duración PERO la salida me parece espantosa y No porque sea alcohólica sino porque huele mal e indescriptible aunque el secado (muy secado) si és un aroma dulce y longevo.

Milky_Way^^

I have just bought this from Vinted for 4 £ ,without any expectations . Bottle is soo pretty ! The fragrance is soft fruitty ,flower and on me initially it comes as a bomb .It reminds me a little bit of Versace Women ,but strange thing is it remind me more of D&G L'Imperatrice . I get that same vibe especially in the begining . All in all good fragrance for the price ,deffenitely Versace's scent .I don't find it outdated or for a special age .May be not for all occasions . Not safe buy blind ,no matter the price IMO

My very first perfume at the age of 14. First saw it on MTV in a commercial. Reminds me of the first parties I talked my parents into letting me go to. Reminds me of afternoons spent in the city centre with my best friend, feeling like an adult despite my age. Very sentimental, one-of-a-kind design - I wouldn't say it smells cheap. Sweet and simple like the 90s were. Sweet and simple yet chic. Chic does not need to mean a complicated, acquired taste type of smell. Makes me think of the supermodel chic of the 90s. Smells like a pastel powder candy, makes me think of dark lipliner on nude lips and pinky cheeks.
Iconic yet underrated.

Very 1998-1999 vibe xoxo

balkidz.hunny

I love the vintage-looking packaging.
Blind-buy few years back in 2018 and keep on restocking this yearly.
It is very nostalgic, yet sweet and I feel very feminine when I'm wearing this.
So good on my preference becoz its cheap & worth.

eaudebora

My impression that I got from this is it’s very powdery on the dry down, reminding me of Kenzo’s Flower.
it’s very nostalgic smelling.
It’s not very long lasting tho.

luna k

Cute, easy to wear fruit salad + violet with woody musk base. Somewhat juvenile and synthetic smelling but I like it anyway.

Longevity 4-6 hours on skin, longer on clothing

LynnLevy

It's a nice perfume. Not one of my favorites and not even close to being one of them, but I still like it a lot.
Smells pretty cheap, but honestly in that case I'm fine with it since it's ACTUALLY cheap.
Definitely an every day type of perfume, I would not wear it to anywhere formal or a party, but it is a nice perfume for a chill work day or when I walk around the city.

I can definitely smell the apricot, and the peach a little bit but just enough to blend beautifully with the apricot. The lillies and violet are very much felt during drydown, can barely smell the rose or the ylang ylang, and after a while it merges on my skin with the sandalwood and the musk but I don't smell the vanilla. Becomes very powdery after a little while, which can be overwhelming, but I'm fine with it. Overall I can say it smells pretty vintage, like a young woman in the 1920s going to the circus or having a walk around the city, which is very beautiful and feminine but for some people it might smell old. But again, with that specific perfume, it actually fits and surprisingly goes well!

Sillage is moderate, it's not a head turning perfume but people around me can smell it. And it lasts for about 6 hours on my skin on average, making it one of my weakest perfumes, which is why I wear it on days I know I'm not going to be out for a long time.
I can see and understand why many people don't seem to like it, but I still find it pretty cute and for it's price it's very much worth it (:

And also, the bottle is STUNNING. My favorite thing about this perfume for sure!!!

Sillage 5/10
Longevity 6/10
Scent 6-7/10

boygirl

Smells like babies and hand sanitizer on me 😞

Lothlorienbayou

I always spray this at Duty Free because it takes me back to being fourteen in my room, getting ready to go out "to my friend's house" aka get wrecked at the park.

ravenjane

Blind bought this at Marshalls for about $20 because I found the cute vintage packaging fascinating.

Not bad! Personally not something I would reach for for day to day wear, but if you're a fan of light, sweet, powdery fragrances, it's a great choice. It's easily one of the more unique scents I've ever smelled; it's almost intoxicating and I can't get enough of it.
I like spraying it on my jammies before I go to bed, it's very soothing. Super cute bottle too, it looks like soda pop. Worth it!

Paolavvh

Huele bastante dulce! Siento que huelo a pura miel 😆 es un olor bastante clásico-sencillo. Bastante época de los 2000's. Not bad pero siento que es bastante como para una mujer fuerte, madre de hijos ya grandes y que vive su vida muy tranquila y feliz.

Nicki23

I blind buy this red and blue jeans bcs its on sale. Suprisingly this is so good on my preference. The floral scent is good and not too overpower. It also gives me the fruity scent that i love which is peach. It smells good on sunny day. The sillage is moderate. Not too bad, not too amazing. It is just good. Longetivity is amazing on me. I can get up to 9 hours+ on skin and 12 hours+ on clothes. If yours is not long lasting, maybe you can try to macerate it for a month. You may get the new batch/production. Watch youtube on how to macerate your fragrance. Thats a game changer for cheap fragrance like this.

AMMILLER

Picked this up for a great price! Powdery, vintage, nostalgic and I love it! I only get a hint of peach, a beautiful, old fashioned rose and lots of powdery florals.

Taegreth

I got this as a gift - and I always get nervous about getting perfumes as gifts because a lot of perfumes just don't work well with my scent, however this works really well. It's quite subtle but it lasts relatively long. I'm absolutely no fragrance expert at all (I'm quite a noob actually). It's powdery but not in a bad way - it kind of reminds me of clean clothes in that respect. It's nice for every-day wear. I don't personally wear it too often because it's not my style but if I feel like smelling fresh in a soft flowery way I'll use it. I get lots of compliments when wearing it.

knightlore

My Mrs wears Red Jeans .. 😍 .. projection about 12ft .. lasts all day .. it reminds me of Ultra Violet Red .. I just love it 😍

lalalunevail

Blind buy! I wanted a new fragrance to take on holiday with me and this stood out since it was on sale. It's my first Versace purchase and honestly it's not too bad. It's not a scent I find myself reaching out to often, but it deffo did the job of reminding me of my holiday every time I catch a whiff of it. Unfortunately it has almost no lasting power at all, so you might want to decant or bring the entire bottle with you if you're heading out.

Sweet Satine

Oh wow, this smells so good, like a floral fruity honey scent. My husband loved it, that means I will buy him the mens version. My only wish is this came in perfume, however it is a Toilette and longevity is short lived. This Versace is heaven in a bottle, Not my signature scent but it is so inexpensive I will always have this perfume in rotation.

Sweet Satine

Blind bought this perfume, the notes listed, I thought I would love it, on my body chemistry the notes are way off, it has a very strong note that I just don not like. I would trade this 1 and Boucheron eu de parfumes. I don not like 1 note and it throws it an off scent on me, not a gourmande perfume, It may have too much musk for me.

ReeReeLove

This was a blind buy for me. I like revisiting scents from the 90s. I'm by no means a professional at distinguishing scents but to me, I initially got an upbeat bright sweet vibe. It reminded me of candy. What came to mind was the gummy candy, Jujubes, JujyFruit and Dots. Once it dried down I got more of a musky, medicinal vibe. It's not terrible and it's not great either. I'm gonna continue to try and work with it to see if my feelings change.

bajablast

I finished my bottle of Versace Red Jeans during my senior year of high school. This is a slightly sweet, highly SOUR scent. Straight from the bottle, it smells synthetic and artificial even to the untrained nose. It doesn't really smell like peach at all. It also doesn't smell vintage, at least to me. I remember feeling glad to be done with it as I had other perfumes I wanted to use up. Other than that, this was a fine purchase for a teen girl, but I won't be back

autumnblue914

Tried at a store a while ago so memory on exact smells a bit spotty but I remember the overall feeling.

I have no idea what happened with it. Maybe the tester has been out for too long, I don't know. I don't remember smelling any fruits or anything. Just spicy alcohol. I distinctly remember thinking "I have never smelled a more vile perfume". If I see it on the way somewhere I will re-test because I don't remember much more than that. I just remember that I waited, thinking it was maybe the initial alcohol burst, but that it didn't change. It didn't stink but it was still simply nasty.

knightlore

It’s gorgeous. 😍

Lithe

Peachy for sure, it has strong smell that hits the nose. I love to wear it on summer and spring, so girly and teenager-ish perfume. It gives joy, i picture myself with a flower patterned dress with that on! Cute if you are young

whodoesyourtaxes

Very candy-esque with an unfortunate medicinal hint. I like it more as it dries down, same as Blue Jeans. Would like it a lot for a fun fruity scent if it wasn't for the little hint of cough drop smell lol

joikgirl

My mom gave it to me, because it was too sweet for her liking, that was years ago and I was still a teenager. I wore it often and really liked it.
I have been tempted to purchase it again, it is very affordable and always on sale. A very girly smell, a lot of peach/apricot with mix of the middle notes ylang-ylang/rose/violet. But for a small price it goes away quick and dries down musky.

Suricata

Very disappointed with this, i have blue jeans and wanted to complement my collection with red jeans but its very different, very floral and something like a granny would wear, its super strong i had to wash myself to get rid of the smell :( i really wanted to like this

pisuchan

I don't know why but after the initial burst it smells like a new leather purse on me, which I enjoy. I like to layer it with candy perfumes.

AuthenticAF

I got this bc it was super discounted. I sprayed once so far on a test strip and once on me. I am pretty sure i got peach, but have to try some more and update. My initial feeling was more of a spring summer scent.

Dazed_and_confused

Bottle is awfully gaudy. Perfume itself smells very artificial and sweet. Not for me.

Bertes

I bought this for my grandma. I think i will always associate this with her. It's versatile fresh and comforting. I think it's better for older women, but almost anyone can pull it off.

katesniffer

This is very bright.
I smell floral and a bit of fruity notes. I think the fruit is what makes it feel so fresh and not heavy.

08310831

Cold and warm at the same time. Clean with something plastic at the background. Great longevity and projection which costs almost nothing in Greece.

mhubbard1961

I bought a full bottle for a song years ago. Artificial, watered down mish mash of sweet notes that don't go together and don't lead anywhere. Mercifully it wears off quickly

NadaKimari

This was a blind buy for me, yummy peachy scent, not in a gross shampoo way but in a powdery soft clean way.

Works for everyday wear, and it met my expectations. plus the bottle is very cute and 90s. Great value for the money too!

ntabassum92

Pretty different from what I expected from this red bottle - this is a violet heavy perfume, super sweet violet and synthetic peach. I like the smell, especially in the opening when it's most fresh and fruity, but something about it is a bit cloying. I don't know if it's the mixture of a sweet powdery rose with amped up sweet powdery candied violet, and sweet fake peach overlying everything...but I feel that I would have trouble wearing this perfume because it would start to irritate me. It's a very perfumey violet and rose, no lightness or airiness here at all. You have to really love your candied violet to be able to wear this one, that is definitely the most prominent thing I smell. The drydown is softer and more wearable, but getting there is a challenge.

TexasTuberose

This was a signature scent of an old friend whom I admired, so it brings back good memories...but I would never wear it.
It is VERY unique, so it has that going for it.

It smells kind of like it looks- a small hotel liquor bottle that's quirky, plastic, cheap, synthetic, and strong to the point of being gauche. Obnoxious peachy musk that's well meaning but doesn't go away fast enough.

Cornwallis

Smells like literal shampoo

Peaches&Cream

Red jeans is such a syrupy perfume. I don’t like or love it , it’s just okay to me. I wore this today on a humid day & I regret it because I have a slight headache. 1-2 sprays are enough & it lasts more than 6 hours on me. I did get a compliment saying that it smelled nice. To me this perfume is better on a cool spring day

downtomars13

I don't understand all the bad reviews. It is a pleasant powdery fruity floral. It doesn't really last long, but I'm ok with it for this fragrance since you can find it at a discount. I think the vintage-looking bottle gives it charm. It does have a bit of a 90's vibe, yes, but I still think it works in 2022

jesz

Red Jujubes and Cherry Coca-Cola. Red roses and juicy raspberries and strawberries. Powder and lotion hints. Warm spices and Turkish Delight. Sassy, very sweet, a bit bad and unapologetic. Like a vintage pinup model.

leothebackcat

I was expecting more fruity opening, instead of that I can hardly smell the top notes, but the middle notes are very strong they are mostly powdery and floral. I'm not a big fan of powdery perfumes so I can't tell it's a terrible smell because there's always gonna be someone to like it. In my opnion it's not bad but it's not that great either. I think it's perfect for everyday use.

sonialamar

I keep thinking I'll like a fragrance if I like the notes in it, but I'm going to have to learn that's not always true. I read bad review after bad review after bad review of this fragrance but I bought it anyway thinking, "maybe on *my* skin with *my* chemistry it'll smell good". Nope. I should have just trusted all the bad reviews. It's just as bad as they said it was. Maybe back in the day it smelled more natural, less synthetic. Or maybe there really are people out there who smell good in this. Kudos to them because it almost made me nauseous - I had to scrub it before it got to the drydown- and it made my husband break out in hysterical laughter at how bad it was on me. :)

maritzza

Wow, so 90's, but not in a good way. It smells stifling and old. The overall impression is bad. There are better fragrances with the same vibe, but this one smells just too chemical.

clariella

This one smells like the 90's to me.. It was the second fragrance I ever bought with my own money, in 1995. I loved it back then. It seemed so sweet and fresh compared to most other fragrances of that era. At least that was how I viewed it as a teen.
Recently I've been on some kind of retro kick since I've been longing for the perfumes I used as a teen; Samba, Cool Water, Les Belles and Red Jeans. I decided to pick up another bottle. It was pretty cheap, around 20€.
It does smell like it did back then, but yet not. As some other reviewers pointed out, the current formulation is not that great compared to the original. It has a somewhat artificial touche to it. The original felt more organic.
That being said, I do get the same feels as I did back then. Perhaps it's the nostalgia. I'm not sure, but I do love to smell my own wrists when I'm wearing Red Jeans. LOL.
This is one of those scents that has a lot of notes, and it's hard to distinguish which one is the most prominent. It's just fruity and floral. Peach and violet, maybe a bit of Ylang-Ylang and some rose and vanilla.
Anyway, I just love this scent, mainly for the nostalgia factor. It's also surprisingly potent. I can smell it for a good five hours and on my clothes it lasts even longer. The sillage is moderate in my opinion.

Yussra smki

After 6 months of testing I can finally say that this perfume can be alittle supported in really hot weathers otherwise it smells like molten plastic.

IMadeleine

I bought it years ago and at that time it was ok. Now, I don't like it because it is a strong plastic-y smell. I do not smell any particular fruit. I like peach in perfumes but Red Jeans is too synthetic. If you don't care what you wearing, this is a good one and most of the time a good deal

lemon_pepper

I bought it expecting it to be a good formulation because my partner uses the blue one and I really like it on him. But I just can't seem to like it. It is such a generic fruity smell and although I almost finished the whole bottle, the only complement I got was from a single, very persistent bee at the train station for days on end who was keen on the smell (as I wore it to work just to finish the bottle somewhere I don't care much about). It is definitely summery, and definitely a day time fragrance, but cloyingly sweet for my taste. In fact I hated the sweetness so much that it seemed to last longer than I wanted it to, but the reality is it lasts about 4-5 hours, and the dry down is bland too.

GourmandGirl81

Something random made me reach into my frag fridge and spray Versace Red Jeans. That same random insistence told me to spray Delina Exclusif on top. And I ain't mad!! Try it, you just might like it!

BigBobRoss

Really fruity and sweet in the opening especially the peach and apricot, florals notes are hovering in the background to balance the scent out little on the dry down...

Above average longevity and sillage, great value for the price range

Overall pleasant scent

GiulianaC

The current formulation is terrible. It has a heavy, indiscernible and unpleasant smell. I used it quite a lot a few years ago, trying to convince myself that I liked it because the packaging and bottle are absolutely gorgeous. Keeping that on my vanity, but the jus won't get on my skin or clothes anytime soon. Avoid it. Cheap, but not worth the disappointment. Wonder how it smelled in the 90's, because the note composition seems good.

Yussra smki

I got this perfume as my last birthday gift, it’s really disappointing how bad this perfume smells.. I expected something better something like the male version ( blue jeans) but unfortunately this smells so chemical and annoying.
I tried it in cold weather firstly ( I’m born in December) and I blamed the weather on how it smells rare then I tried it on warmer weather and guess what !! It’s still annoying, I’ve tried it indoors and outdoors but same, it cause headache and nausea.

Appletreebeach

It's ok, not a must have! It's a good bedtime scent

_NicoleNonya

I love this scent. It's 90's vibe, I was born in the Orwellian year 84.
I scored this @ Marshall's for $8.
My 16 YO daughter stole it from me so I had to get it full price @ $25 & STILL happy to pay it.
For a nice silage, a spray behind each knee, 1 in the back of the neck, 1 on each wrist. Lasts all day for me.
I fell asleep with it on & could smell the dry down on my pillow the next day.
I hope it's never discontinued. 💘💓

mariboo

I loved the bottle design but the scent was pretty forgettable.

OTA Mom

This reminds me of red kool-aid powder before you add sugar, a sour fruity artificial mess.

keeblerelf

I honestly don't fully understand the hate this perfume gets! I agree that it is pretty synthetic- certainly not the worst I've smelled but I can completely get why people wouldn't be on board. I think this is a case where my body chemistry is compatible with this scent- after it dries down it smells a lot less synthetic. I got it for $18 at TJ Maxx and think it's good for the price, if I paid a lot for this I'd be mad but for under $20 I am satisfied. I think this is a good layering perfume- wearing it with other fruity floral scents really steps it up a little.

missviv

Hmm. Truly did not like this one. I actually found a bottle of it - someone obviously agreed with my feelings and had left their bottle outside on their fence with a sign that said 'free'. I picked it up to try it out, and gave it away as well. I wasn't sure if it had gone off, but after reading everyone else's reviews, I think it's just a bad perfume.

Controlledbyscent31

This reminds me of the 00's I always wanted this as a 10 Yr old kid... all my friends had it and the tap cold and hot scents its nostalgic but I hate the dry down so won't be purchasing it but it took me back to being 10 again when I smelt this today.

Yes Malena

Red Jeans has a bit of sweet and sour; it's fresh, fruity and floral. I often get sickened from the peach-heavy fragrances, but as I mentioned in my first review of this, I think the sour black currant and the diffuse violet notes balance it out enough for me. And there's something light about the scent overall, even though I can definitely see it being a headache trigger for some.
I do not get much rose at all--the floral aspects are blended. I love the bottle and the color scheme. For me it's nostalgic in a good way.
On me it's a happy scent, and I wear it in any weather or season really, when I'm feeling a certain kind of friendly and upbeat.

sagasår

Can't believe I never reviewed this? My god i hate this scent. To me it's an over powering synthetic peach all the way. Its literally revolting. I am quite a fan of synthetic smells, I love the synthetic Jasmine in Alien and the synthetic cherry in Black Cherry Merlot. But this.... this is almost...... rotting with synthetic dribbling peaches. Its overwhelming and way too saccharine, I can't smell a thing over that peach, its harsh and cloying. Truly I am just.... disturbed by its designer label. Who the flying fuck at versace gave the green light on this? Its my worst nightmare. Somehow it manages to have balls to the walls crazy intense level sillage and longevity. Of course the scents I love fade into oblivion after an hour or two, but this one is bloody immortal. Its borderline a pesticide. Seriously, I can detect this monstrosity so easily. A single spritz and im running for the hills! Its a gorgeous bottle and packaging but the monster within isn't worth the money. The Peach+Apricot+Violet combo is a death warrant for me. And if you value your money and your sense of smell avoid this!!! -1/10

glam_aneeks

This is quite possibly one of the worse fragrances that I’ve ever smelled. It’s very much a synthetic fruity scent and for some reason it reminds me of rotting fruits. It’s so sad because my husband had the male version of it and I absolutely loved smelling this on him. Over the Christmas season, I saw a guy about to purchase this and I was almost tempted to persuade him otherwise ( I didn’t, I chose to mind my business)

Katerrina

It smells very synthetic and kind of strong. It reminded me of the cheap perfumes we wore as kids.

Yes Malena

The black currant and violet overcome the peach, so I can love this. Freesia and water lily, very nice. I do get a pleasantly sour apricot, but thankfully none of that residual, polluted feeling I can get with peach on a drydown. This perfume is wearable even to the dentist's office, but it still keeps me interested and uplifted. Lasts about four hours before becoming a skin scent.
Now I'm adding to this review after sleeping on the fragrance; it is actually really long lasting, and the skin scent the next day is peach/apricot dominant.

ilayda

Not my favorite, when I wear it for too long its headache inducing. I dont agree with the notes at all to me it smells like a powdery grapefruit scent. Its not sweet, very powdery. Reminds me of baby powder mixed with grapefruit juice. Its a very ok scent. I dont like it, I dont dislike it, its just super meh, wouldnt buy it again.

moonsetter

I love the bottle... that delicate floral design that frames the perfume's name is gorgeous. Even if the other design elements read a bit tacky, the way they are implemented lends visual interest. I wish everything at this price point could have such a unique bottle.

The opening isn't specifically peach for me, but evokes any of the fruits that leave juice dribbling down your chin. It's lovely, but doesn't last long. It drys down into a magical floral, one that goes from fresh to nuanced as the violet starts to take center stage. This journey is well supported by the base notes of vanilla, sandalwood, and musk, lending complexity to the scent. Also, since it's not sugary or overly sweet, I think the dry down could even lean towards unisex. Violet is a very unisex floral, for me at least.

It does sit very close to the skin, and performs well for an EDT. It's not cloying at all, and I would describe it as pretty yet unobtrusive. I don't find the opening to be synthetic, as others seem to, but if you did, and could stand to get past it, Red Jeans becomes something unique, bordering on sophisticated.

Perfect to wear to school, the office, or somewhere you'll be in close proximity to others. You will know you smell good without wearing a trendy fragrance everyone knows, and it won't travel enough to bother anyone.

jurl2021

I like it, it mostly smells like peaches, roses and vanilla. It's not too sweet either which is great. At that price, I would probably buy it again at some point.

kcoughlin

I'm glad other people like this one. They can have it. The scent is so strong and fduity/synthetic, it kind of gives me a headache.

Exploring the Versace Jeans rainbow, I am now up to the notorious Red Jeans in its original formula from Giver, not Versus that seems to get so many bad reviews. The original formula is a playful, joyous fruity floral that has nothing to offend in this warm weather friendly beauty. In its day this was the perfect summer holiday/weekend getaway fragrance that was meant for fun! Its youthful, flirty and casual.

The fruity opening is a delicious peach/mango/cherry sorbet that seems to get a bad wrap. Its a tad synthetic, but nothing like later celebrity "fruit-cholis". Its more like a sweet Italian ice you enjoy on the beach. The comes the gentle florals that play off of the fruit. Yes, real rose, violet and lily of the valley make this modern interpretation of the classics. I get oakmoss, vetiver and patcholi(later removed) sitting on light musk and sandalwood .This is pure romance for the 1990s! It never shouts and wasn't meant to be the definitive Versace icon. However, given its perfect presentation, it represent the house well and for many this was a perfect introduction to Versace.

Yes the Versus edition resembles laundry detergent filled with harsh synthetics. The original formula is still plentiful and just as good when it hit the shelves in 1994! The Jeans series is casual mass marketing to bring high fashion to everyone at affordable prices, unlike the current direction the house has taken. The series is easily unisex and can be carefully layered with each other. It worked for me!

MomGodess

I disagree that it is a vintage scent. I know that it is a 90' child, since this was one of my first perfumes I got as a teen.

Talk about the price, unbeatable. The package is unique, however not my cup of tee.

The scent: 9/10 amazing! There is a clear white musk dry down, it dares to be complex and carries it well. It is not a summer nor a winter scent.

I see the detergent reviews - but for me it is more interesting! Fruits, flowers... The first sniff is quite synthetic. BUT the dry down! Omg, lovely, there is something magical in skin contact. At least mine.

No. No retro scent. If I wouldn't have known I would guess it is a modern one. Just as a parallel vibe with Chanel Eau Tendre or Marc Jacobs.

Also it is a cheapy, but you would be fool to leave out a beautiful interesting scent because of the age and the cheap price.

It smells like a high end one, and delivers just as one. Longevity and sillage is not enormous, but good enough. All year around, all place, all situation wearable.

Also it is a sexy scent without screaming for attention. I can see as a hot mommy scent! Just enjoy it!

Clairey15

I've had this bottle for about 3 years and the more I wear it the more I hate it. Very fruity and synthetic.

The bottle is and the tin look good on my dresser and I use this perfume usually when going to work, but this is a linear, juvenile fragrance. Really just a fragrance to wear for the sake of smelling vaguely sweet.

GentleGeranium

This smells almost identical to the original Miss Dior Cherie to me. Both are clear. At first sniff one smelt more like apples & one smelt more like honeysuckle but now I can't tell them apart just that they are different. It smells like there is only a single floral note difference. It's also similar to several other floral/fruit combos such as flowerbomb and D&G Floral Drops.

Luna Raven

Honestly, I liked it the first time. The next turns, however, are not that much of a good scent experience. It gives me headaches and the creaminess of the dry down smells good BUT irritating.

Add me to the Versace Red Jeans Lover Club please! My love for this perfume started in the early 2000s as a child. I vividly remember how feminine, and beautiful this smelled on the women in my life. I knew that some day as an adult I’d own a bottle of my own. Firstly, I love the packaging! The bottle itself is very cute and vintage looking. Also the tin can it comes in is unique and pretty.

My mother bought me this perfume a couple months back after hearing me mention that I’d always wanted a bottle of my own. When I sprayed it on I knew it’d be a staple in my collection! I don’t get the very heavy super sweet or fruity tones others get. On my skin, this is a lovely balance of floral, clean with a hint of sweet. I always receive compliments when wearing this. This is definitely not as sophisticated as I remember it being but it still embodies that confidence, joy and femininity I remember it having. Not really a perfume for a night out, big event or special occasion but it definitely is a “pick me up” mood perfume, a confidence booster, a comforting scent, a classic.

Tomadeupjazz

This to me is a floral slightly fruity, soapy laundry detergent scent. It smells like floral clean laundry and I’m usually not a fresh detergent scent person but because this has that very prominent rose floral scent it’s pretty. Right out of the bottle it’s just floral, no white florals though. On my skin I get this fizzy character which is why I call it soapy ( when a soap foams up) This has been my fragrance to spray on my clothes and skin before I go workout and it’s crowd pleasing. I like the smell, others like the smell and it’s accepted well. I don’t think I would use this fragrance for anything other than just a casual throw on fragrance to smell “CLEAN. Does deserve a place in my collection though and for the price I am not upset I purchased it

diptacnnty

Not a big fan, but still like it. Wouldn't mind using it every day.

Stassa

This was my very first fragrance and I'm not sure I will be objective about it as I have so many memories from it... I bought it during my first trip to Italy when I was 10 years old. Definitely not suggested for a 10 year old, but I was sooo intrigued by the red tin and the bottle inside that I HAD to buy it. I still have that (empty) bottle and its tin reads "GIANNI VERSACE - RED JEANS". I've also bought a couple more bottles since his death (now reading "VERSACE - RED JEANS") and it smells the same, so I don't think it has been reformulated.

It's a very bold fragrance, very 90s, but not Calvin Klein or Hugo Boss 90s. This is very in-your-face, bold, very strong and I don't think I've smelled something like this since 1996 when I first bought it. To me it goes in par with Gianni Versace's bold and extravagant nature and it's not by mistake that he released a whole range of "Jeans" fragrances in different colors, as he was the designer that revolutionized and made popular denim apparel in different colors! Gianni's muse was his sister Donatella, and although he created a fragrance especially for her ("Blonde"), I could still totally see Donatella wearing "Red Jeans" in the 90s. Even though I don't know her personally, whenever I smell "Red Jeans", I think of Donatella. I could also easily see this fragrance being sprayed on Gianni Versace's larger-than-life catwalk shows in the early/mid 90s with the iconic supermodels wearing his colorful silk, leather and gold chain creations.

In conclusion, I see "Red Jeans" together with her brother fragrance "Blue Jeans" as a tribute from Gianni Versace to his own legacy. They're both a celebration of the bold, experimental and extravagant early/mid 90s, right before the era of aquatic/minimal scents took over (CK One, Hugo Boss Women, Emporio Armani Lei, etc.) While I appreciate the simplicity of mid/late 90s, it will never be as artistic and as impactful as Gianni Versace's extravaganza.

dglightblue

Red jeans, evening skin test.
It smelled a little dated initially, in the same way true love smells, still nice, but if it’s time.
This is watery fresh, a tiny bit sharp initially though staying in the freshly lane. A little bit leafy green amongst the other notes, still staying fresh rather than grassy.

Very similar to versace woman, but I feel red jeans is stronger by a little.
A clean scent overall.

Noelanii

Yes, this is making a comeback due to its resemblance to Guerlain rosa pop. I do get a light woodsy almost papery note in the soft drydown. For me the start is floral fresh, light white spring florals. The scent feels well blended and soft, feminine and modern. Timeless and ageless. I found it for 10 pounds and it is indeed a bargain beauty.

Madyana

It may just be that I have a bad taste, but for me this smells really joyful, this is one of my favorite summer scents, I use a bottle of every summer. 😂
Here the sweetness, in my opinion, is well balanced with a natural sour, almost grapefruit-scented black curret. I also smell the flower notes very authentic, almost green, I distinguish freesia, but at times I smell it as a creamy green tuperose and to top it all off all this "splendor" is poured to syntetic, candysweet children soda-pop drink what gives this scent a light and playful look !
My skin chemistry loves this and ironically, this fragrance is one of the most compliments fragrance I have.
However, I don’t put peas in my nose, if anyone disagrees with the loveliness of this, this is definitely an opinion-sharing fragrance, but definitely worth a try for just a jar, if you don't like scent.

alika17

I hate this so much, I can't believe Versace made this. I returned it immediately without even spraying it because I could already smell it through the spray nozzle, it was so strong and sour smelling like chemical cleaning products.

amj5991

Smells like bug spray. Burned my nose. Could pass for an bathroom air freshener

SallyGirl

I wear this to my retail job when I want customers to stay away from me 😎works like a charm!

MaryLouiseMargaret

A friend told me her son brought her back a bottle of Baby Rose Jeans in the 1990s from Italy, so I wanted to try that. Well, Rose Jeans sounds wonderful, but it's too expensive, so I bought a really inexpensive bottle of Red Jeans. I am delighted I did. It opens for me with cherry (not a listed note), rather than peach or apricot, but it is a jammy delight. There is also a distinct rose note. Yes, it is a real 90s scent bomb, but that's what I like because the 90s were a great decade for me. Still, I can see where a younger woman, who has grown up with lighter, even unisex scents, would find this a stinker. But any women of any age can appreciate the great container and beautiful color of the perfume--the bottle and container are kitchsy, fun, distinctive--real "Yippe ki yo ki yea, m--f--." Sillage right now--an hour after spraying--is like two rooms away, but don't know about longevity or whether there is any nuance in the drydown. For now, I am blissfully happy.

Phresh Man

A lady in the office wears this and OMG... she lights up the whole damn floor and she leaves gorgeous scent trails! She gets compliments from EVERYONE! I was pleasantly surprised when I saw how old this was... this is great for the asking price

stefani valini

it's a fresh scent of peach and roses, perfect for fall. It reminds me of high school. Nothing incredible or fancy, not a safe blind buy.

Cosmic31

I recently blind bought this and I want to love it but the opening is too strong for me. The mix of Black Currant and Freesia gives me a headache (mostly the Freesia). I think I would like this more if the Freesia was a heart note. It's clean and aquatic while the dry-down is a light floral. I can only use small amounts of this, which is a shame because the longevity isn't great. The bottle and packaging are beautiful but overall I'm a bit disappointed.

anitasaastamoinen

Just got this yesterday, this is youthful yet suitable for any age. Someone wrote that it´s like fruity shampoo and I agree, but there are other layers in this, too. A lovely fruity, juicy, jammy, fresh perfume and after some hours rose is dominant on my skin. It lasts some hours and the sillage isn´t very strong but it´s a good choice for spring and summer. It's very suitable for my skin's chemistry, I love it.

SailorV

This is a 90s classic, but very accessible for the modern nose. Rose and violet mixed with sweet peaches and apricot on a sweet vanilla, musk and sandalwood base. It's a little powdery, but not in a smothering way. I think the addition of freesia and waterlily give the floral notes a beautiful fresh edge. I thought there would also be raspberry in the notes, but it's just rose combined with the fruitiness of peach and black currant. This peach is somewhere in between the usual big overripe peaches that you find in many 90s perfumes and the clean peach shampoo note that is often used today. I think it's just right!
I do not get any lily of the valley at all.

As a whole Red Jeans reminds me of some lipsticks I smelled in the past. Maybe Lancôme lipsticks from the 2000s. I'm not sure, but it's decidedly a sheer, slightly fruity one, not a heavy waxy cosmetic scent.

If you're looking for a fruity floral that is not too thin and boring and don't want to spend a fortune, this is a must-try.
I would wear this from spring to early autumn. In my opinion it doesn't belong under heavy winter clothes.
The bottle might be objectively dated and kitschy, but I personally think it's so cute and unique! I would get this for the tin alone.

jule9

This perfume smells like when you wash your hair with a strongly scented, fruity-floral shampoo, and the wind dries them. Very fresh, a bit sweet, totally approachable. Anyone could pull this fragrance off. Not unpleasant at all.

Fragaddict123

A lot better than the men’s version of this fragrance though I don’t see myself wearing it maybe I will give it a try in the future

kandykiller

Okay if this lasted it would be an okay perfume....the bottle alone ,id re buy, however i like Blue Jeans Versace alot better& its mens, but who cares id rather wear Blue Jeans& feel Blue Jeans lasts longer& is unisex powdery lemon vibe.. however this is about Red Jeans, lol,so its girly, peachy fruity peachy, fresh, harmless friendly vibe...slightly sweet,i really get fruity peach, its okay, not something id wear only because it only lasts a few minutes& after a few minutes it totally disapears in my chemistry sadly,or i wouldnt mind only wearing this to run errands, store, etc.Versace other perfumes& colonge lasts ok,just not this 1. I gotta say tho Versace has style in design of this perfume bottle& the cute vintage metal tin this bottle comes in so freaking cute!!!!

libertinesupreme

Cloying and harsh, this takes me back to being an adolescent in the worst way possible: it smells like cheap and nasty bodyspray I used to buy for £2 when I was 13. Certainly put me off Versace, even if this is one of their cheaper fragrances. If I were the Versace CEO I'd be embarrassed to have the Versace name attached to something so low quality; the plastic lid also adds to the overall cheap vibe of the whole thing.

If I wanted to wear a very cheap fragrance, I'd probably pick So...? Kiss Me, which is half the price of this and far nicer.

DaisyBloom

Red Jeans by Versace instantly takes me back to my childhood in the '90s, when my aunty would wear this religiously. It's a nice fragrance; a safe, inoffensive fruity floral, but sadly for me the strength and staying power just isn't there. This fragrance sits very close to my skin, and is hard for others to detect. The longevity is also honestly the worst out of any of the fragrances in my collection - it literally disappears within an hour. Not a massive deal considering it's also a great value fragrance, but I'd love to feel like I don't have to reapply several times a day!
Upon first spritz, I get intense juicy fruity notes, namely apricot, raspberry, and peach, but this soon mellows out into a nice soft floral. It's nothing remarkable, but still a very casual, easy-breezy perfume, great for everyday wear.

Gingernspicex

I’ve had this perfume since secondary school, always being told I smelt amazing. I’m now 27.
I can’t really handle the first spray it is very strong, however once you get outside and starting walking (especially in winter) the fresh air allows the dry down to really settle. The dry down is fresh, powdery and slightly sweet. If you spray your coat for example you can smell it the following day and it just smells very clean. My boyfriend doesn’t like the first sprays, however always compliments me after a few hours about how lovely I smell. The first spray and the dry down are like two different perfumes. Give it time, you might grow to like it too.

Patvana

I don’t know why I notice a very strong rose note in here. I think it smells like a new car, with all those leather seats and stuff. All my friends said it smells like leather and I notice it too. Overall I think it’s just very big on smelling like leather and roses. Nothing else. (I dislike this one)

Blueberrymage

I dont know what apricots the other users smell , mine smells like cheap spray deodorant. Awful .

estherkiim

Quick review since it's late but I got this as a gift and it smells mostly of dried apricot like you just opened a bag of them. Very easy reach but as I'm more into niche, it's a bit unexciting but like I said, not a bad scent, quite likable.
And neither too youthful or too mature.

maemaex

Red Jeans was one of the first perfumes I bought for myself back in the early 2000s. It was my signature for years. I don't wear it anymore these days but it will always feel like an easy reach. Admittedly it's not the most sophisticated but it has a sweet charm and always elicits a compliment or two. Which is funny because this is such a divisive love it/hate it perfume on Fragrantica! It was definitely a hit irl for me.

On top I smell freesia and what I always imagined was red currants and raspberries. At first blast it's kinda screechy but once it settles a wave of sweet rose and violet mingles with a slightly green lily of the valley. There's also an aldehyde fizz thing going on; I think this may be the synthetic note people are picking up, but I like it. I single out warm white musk as the main base note with a touch of vanilla and sandalwood, and getting wafts of it on a breezy day is heavenly. The sillage and longevity are good; my skin usually eats away at fragrance but this one will last softly all day without giving anyone a headache and won't turn on you in the heat.

Thank you Donatella for keeping this one around. Now if I could only try Yellow Jeans at a reasonable price!

vluvsperf

This was a perfume I used to wear in middle school. now I am 28. But it was a nice scent very safe, blended well nothing overpowering.

876Beauty

This is one of my first fragrance purchases. It is very feminine, it has a strong peach opening then dries down to a musky powdery floral. The sweetness from the peach is still very much present in the dry down. It's a like for me though I would not repurchase.

Moonchildwild

So I actually blind bought this one, it is very popular with women around my age (I’m 23) and I have actually had quite a few people recommend it to me.

The packaging is very cute and vintage looking.

The scent in and of itself is a fresh soapy floral smell to me.

Not something I’d wear to a black tie event or anything fancy but definitely great for day to day wear! I have even spritzed myself once I got out of the shower a few times to give me that extra clean smell!

I personally really enjoy this fragrance!

Now I will add one side note: my fiancé owns around 100 colognes and “knows his stuff” so I asked him to smell it and give me his opinion, so here is a mans perspective;
He said that he does like it; however it is his least favorite in my collection.
He said that he doesn’t get as much of a soapy smell from it, but instead perhaps more of the floral notes. He also said it smelled almost citrusy to him.

After all is said and done I personally would recommend this to anyone who enjoys a nice clean smell!

alioni4ka

My mom had purchased me my first bottle as a gift and first time i sprayed and smelled it; i remember finding it very synthetic and kinda smelling like play-doh. Right now, with my changing tastes and many finished bottles of red jeans since my mom likes this one so much and tends to buy it everytime she finds a good deal, my thoughts changed, a lot. A very playful and brisk openning, almost childish with very peachy notes according to me. Actually i can understand why people find it very artificial because strong smell of peach and apricot seems kinda same to me though but i was never fond of peachy smells, it may be different for the ones whom like it. Anyway, it just fades away in 10-15 minutes and it starts to develop into a less childish and more subtle, womanly perfume. I can definetly smell rose as a dominant main note with violets on the side. You can easily notice its powdery and musky structure when main notes start to hit surface and perfume stays like that literally for hours. To me, its openning aside it s a playful but womenly scent, it d be easily worn by a grown woman, as it d be suitable for a teenage girl. This perfume reminds me summer nights that you walk around in shorts with a tan skin, eat ice cream and meet with yout boyfriend. It reminds me getting dressed cute and leaving the house during sunset and smelling flowers in the summer air by walking away. Defiently it can be worn daily and during all seasons.

crystalistheone

I want to start off by saying this is a lovely perfume and I recently re-purchased it. I had this perfume in the 90s it was the first perfume that my grandmother ever bought me it reminds me of her so much. It is a casual scent that can be worn anytime of day or year. I picked it up online for less than $20 for the 2.4 ounce. This is a nice safe classic perfume from the 90s.

Gosha

Funny, how this - in my opinion perfectly inoffensive - fragrance can stir so much emotions and such polarizing reviews. So being described as harsh, laud, synthetic, arrogant and screeching as well as soft, feminine, sweet, girly, pretty, gentle, rosy, baby...and again seen as anything from boring and generic to sexy and even horny and more. Hmmmmmmm.... I like it. There is such an optimistic vibe in this very fruity liquid that I am struggling to recall equally "happy", cheerful fragrance...(perhaps Chopard's Happy Spirit Magical Nights comes close enough). On me it is very fruity and full of peaches, but the overall impression is far from peachy shampoo. Instead it is full of super elegant peaches if that makes sense. Should I somehow summarize the spirit of this fragrance, to me it would be simply JOLLY and a little audacious (in a very healthy way). By the way red is a very appropriate colour for this one. I can see this my new fragrance being used very frequently.

D&gredcap

There is a big difference on formulations between the Versace Giver Spa and the Euroitalia (the most recent) .......Giver Spa is stunning and well mixed .....I have Euroitalia also but it’s a bit too metallic fake. The dry down in my skin of Giver spa is amazing

raiza1990

Soft, fresh, fruity and slightly powdery. Good choice if you’re looking for a relaxing, not overly sweet and inoffensive fragrance for warm days. Red Jeans is simple and feminine. Pleasant fragrance.
I imagine a young, innocent lady walking in a park wearing it.
final note: 6,5/10

PeonySugar

This is the winner of the fruity contest. I don't know how someone is able to smell anything than tropical thick fruit and clean musk. It's always the type of scent that leaves the trail, fills the bus, walks with you like a cloud but not in a nauseating way. If you are on a budget, this perfume is perfect choice for work or party.

Mrsmooreavl

Classic, beautiful fruity floral. This fragrance is timeless, ageless, inoffensive. Safe blind but for any age, any preference. I don’t know anyone who couldn’t find a use for Versace Red Jeans. It’s a great everyday fragrance. Great for those days you’re running late or just not in the mood to take time and search for a fragrance that suits your outfit or mood. Great for work, running errands, lunch with friends I’ve worn this to visit sick friends and received compliments instead of complaints. You can’t go wrong with this cheapie. I also bought this for my daughter as her first ‘real perfume’ as a freshman in high school. She and her cheerleader friends loved it. I ended up giving bottles as birthday gifts to all her friends and now I’m known as “mommy #2”! Will always be in my fragrance collection.

Tasali

On my skin this is a simple powdery violet. It is nice and inoffensive but nothing really happens. It is too innocent.

LateBloomer

I tried this on today and did not really like it...it's ok, but nothing special and I wanted to wear something with a little more personality...so I thought I'll change it when I get to the house, I'll scrub it off...ran some errands...a couple of hours later I get home, open the cabinet to get a glass for some water and stop....what is that smell? It smells soooo nice...clean, fresh...I'm looking around the kitchen, trying to locate the source of the scent...then realize it's me, it's this perfume. What a surprise! It's beautiful.

MidnightCallerXx

I bought this on a whim and in all honesty, It just smells like generic baby wipes.
I gave it to my sister who also agreed it smelt like baby wipes, So we didn't keep it very long.

The duration the scent lasted was pretty decent but not fantastic.

Shan101beauty

A pleasant powdery fruity floral. It can be a very nice everyday scent.

mevans

Red Jeans is a pleasant enough fruity-floral. I get freesia quite clearly, and definitely the fruity scent of the peach-apricot accord. It doesn't develop much as it settles, it keeps steady throughout. It is a little synthetic, but that's not always a bad thing. It's strong, but coming from the 90's that was the "in" thing. It's an under-$20 fragrance so for the price it's nice enough but I wouldn't re-buy it when I finish my current bottle.

AnitaHendricks

I received this perfume as a present when I was a young teenager! I smell roses, peaches and something smokey. There are white florals too. I like it more now I'm older. It's nice and casual to wear! When I close my eyes, it brings me back to my parents house. I made pencil drawings in my room, I sprayed this on most of my friends and the furniture around me was made out of oakwood. I don't know why these specific memories came to my mind. I guess that's the power of perfume!

Kuroshio

I had it when I was 16 ys old, and I bought it again now when am 44 :)
And I adore it. Wonderful, smiley scent. For me it is not any flowerish, rather berries bomb. Reminds me of Yves Rocher framboise. Raspberry and currants.
One thing is sure. It makes bees crazily following me and men also like it a lot!
Dont hesitate to buy it. Makes you feel up and happy.

dansey4

This is a strong fragrance but not sickening. I love it, espetially if im emotionally down. Every time i put this on I feel empowered.

DarlingNikki

I don't know how the violet note isn't listed as the first main note by a wide margin--this thing is a violet BOMB on me and I don't like it. I remember smelling this when it first came out and liking it, but when I got a sample recently that violet exploded in my face and smothered out everything else in this fragrance. Ick!!!

AnlisaC

This holds a special place in my heart. It brings back such great memories for me, which were all in the 90’s living in LA. It’s still a favorite for me and I will alway repurchase

This is a clean floral with a sweet dry down, but not like the sweet fragrances of today not fruity on me at all more of a floral sweetness, I get the apricot with the freesia, plus the violet. So so pretty.

Longevity is good not great but good. Sillage is close to my skin but I have had a few compliments when I wear it. It will always be in my collection.

MoonInAquarius

For some really odd reason - the violet stands out the most to me. But I love it! Got this as a blind buy ($19 at Ross) thanks to YouTube reviewer (Rhonda!) it’s definitely a sweet fruity first spray and the soft powdery note blooms open immediately. I couldn’t stop sniffing my arm. Instantly I was transported to 1994, and just felt a whole 90s vibe. There was almost a powdery waxy lipstick note that I love smelling. But about an hour later those violets came out to play- it reminded me of these candied violet pastilles my grandma would have. I would wear this one for casual days and going to church or doing errands or any time feeling reminiscent and relaxing. I only have that one bottle - but if I see another I’ll definitely grab it.

tc1203

I blind bought this one based on a YouTuber review and I don’t regret. Powdery but it’s fresh and not overwhelming. It suits any season. I also love the packing

Lily + redcurrant syrup drink + blackberry + plastic notebook covers (the scent of stationer's shop, mix of PVC plastic covers and fragrant notebooks) + trace of vanilla.

I’m on a perfume binge, yes I’ve fallen off the wagon and seem to be purchasing a bottle every two weeks. Red Jeans was on my want list and boy did I want it. So I bought it and when it came today I couldn’t open that Amazon box fast enough. I sprayed my wrist and ran from room to room telling my sons who also collect cologne and love their Versace blue jeans to “smell my arm”. We all agreed it smelled nice like “something I’d wear”. I’m thinking Spring will bring out the lovely floral fruits in this and make me feel like I’m running free through a field or orchard, or maybe not. Either way I like it. It’s a no fuss, pretty, simple scent that I can wear with a dress, or jeans. And I’m so happy this bottle says Versace and not Versus. Does the Versus bottle smell like the Versace bottle ...probably

Misha_4

It was a blind buy based on reviews of some YouTuber. I was after inexpensive daily summer scent. Gotta be honest didn't really like it in the beginning so I used it at home for 3days to check it and then my love for it began. It's nice sweet floral scent. You gotta give it time to dry down. It's dry down smells good. You can get it at cheaper price now and it lasts all day.

brigitten

When I tested Red Jeans, I got something very familiar that was popular in early 00's. Basically, it's musky berry jam. If you don't see note list, you don't think about roses or any flowers at all. At the moment you can get the perfume really cheap.

Jackiex

I had a bottle of this years ago. I wasn't a fan then, and am not a fan now. Too floral and sharp for my taste. Softens and gets a bit better on skin with time but still, it's a clear no for me! I just don't find it interesting enough.

sandifitzg

I bought this on a whim....trusting the name Versace AND SINCE iT was in a pink bottle I was hoping for something rosy. I associate Versace with bold fragrances. I mainly detect a musky fresh rose in the opening notes. It dries down to green notes and Lily of the valley reminding me of a very soft Eternity. It is really quite lovely and I could become quite fond of it. I like that it is a change from all of the gourmands out there and smells different. It is also very cozy and feminine. IT always takes me awhile to get to know a perfume and we are off to a good start.

opalescenttreeshark

This is a hard return for me. I tried to make silly justifications for keeping it. The packaging is cute, it seems like a classic, it came out the year I was born so I feel like I should own it for strange sentimental purposes. I wanted to have this in my collection so badly that I was going to try to ignore the scent. But I can't. It's so unique.. I've honestly smelled nothing quite like it. I never even got it on my skin because I disliked it so much. I'm sorry to all the Red Jeans lovers out there. I wanted to enjoy it, but it is not for me.

Kittenbug

6/2018 - I regret blind buying this from Amazon, after watching YouTube reviews regarding this as a great warmer-weather, compliment-garnering fragrance. This is a strong dislike, as it is a strong, sharp floral. While I smell the fruit, it is equally, if not moreso, met with a harsh floral that overpowers. It smells like public bathroom spray. I haven’t worn it out in public since I wouldn’t want to offend others, so I can’t attest to others complimenting it. To each, their nose, though.

tittertat

There is something in this that smells like jello vodka shots being made in metal ice cube trays. !!!

JesperBlacxxi

It smells like sweet suncream to me.

wan.syahmir.amiruddin

I understand that this one is a classic...tht many of the you lived with it....it was a part of your nostalgia...but come on....im sorry but i despise the scent...too strong too cloying....something's got to be wrong with this composition..it may be appelaing for those who grew up with this..but for the younger gen...its another pass from me....ps...its weird but i like the blue jean though

missviv

I seem to be getting lucky finding free perfumes lately in London!

Today I found a half full bottle of this, that someone had left in front of their house along with a pile of other abandoned beauty items. It was obvious that I would need to adopt and rehome this sad, unwanted perfume. Thank you to the person that left this outside instead of tossing it in the bin - it has gone to a new home that will love and appreciate it!

Anyways, on to my impression of it: it's a pleasant, fruity floral, inoffensive scent. The notes I pick up on most are lily of the valley, peach and rose. I detect no black currant (though I desperately wish I did), and no vanilla. Dries down and becomes soft and powdery not long after spraying.

odie

I really like this red jeans, but there is something in it that just does not sit well on my skin. It goes on beautifully and I get all that beautiful currant, but then "bam" there comes a wonky scent that I just can't lay a finger on.

These notes are a love for me, when I had my sister smell it she totally agreed there was something indiscernible that altered my willing to buy to a "maybe after I purchase something I'm dead sure I want." However, my other sister told me that she liked it a lot and purchased one immediately.

Not an immediate favourite but to those who love it! power!

Versace Red Jeans is a fragrance that i'll always come back to. I've worn this on and off since I was in high school (which was many moons ago by the way) and there is a good reason why.

I remember my first encounter with this scent, I found it to be the most beautiful, fruity, floral, powdery scents I had ever smelled. I found out that it was this fragrance and I knew that I just had to have it.

I bought a bottle and the rest was history. This fragrance is just an iconic beacon of youth and femininity. Yes, it's a little syrupy and sweet, but it's rounded out so well with the powdery purple flowers. I find this fragrance well suited for pretty much all weather and seasons. I am just so happy that this fragrance exists.

norimisu

+ I used up this perfume in about three months - a record for me. I've always gotten compliments on the way I smell but since I started wearing this people have gone crazy with comments about it; "God, you smell so good," "Wow! You smell amazing" etc. etc.

It's definitely thanks to this perfume; it smells amazing with soft, sweet, youthful notes and will leave people drooling over you.

- One thing that bothers me about it though is that it just doesn't last very long (which might contribute to the way I finished it so quickly), you have to reapply after a few hours. Still, in my book it's worth it.

Kimmychoo 01

@ paperghost , you sound very snobby , if my s daughter had bought me this , i would not belittle her immaturity in fragrances on here ...only to then bolster my own self procclaimed perfume expertise

Nicole f

It's a nice scent, nothing special. I mostly get violet and powder on the dry down(10 minutes after spraying) I prefer the first 10 minutes of this fragrance as its very fruity.

AntoanetteS

burst of freshness and feel good vibes! Iconic scent & bottle!

Kousui212

Came across with a tester at the mall and spritzed a bit of it. Memories of my denim days flashed back as it stays on my skin thru the night. The following day, i bought it and the next morning, paired it with my red dress and bag. Feeling the freshness and vigor of the notes and it spreads an awesome mood as i pass by. I love red jeans, it's like a long lost love, and its impression is eternal. This is my everyday wear from now.

charlie.aeroplane

Im delighted by the dry woodsy notes in this combined with the freshness of rose petals. It gives me a lit bit of a lipstick smell, i think might be the violet fault. Overall i like it because its a eau de toillette that stays with you all day and its different then citrusy or aquatics summer scents i know. The peach give juicyness, what can you need in a hot day if not a drink to appease.
Yeah, the bad part is the syntheticity, but for me its part of the fun in this one.
I catch airy candylike smell unexpetedly most times i wear this all day, and than I realised its from my perfume actually.
Juicy, rosy, woody, clean, uncloying soft candy smell.

aniston

First whiff is kids sweet medicine smell then dries down to green tea-ish scent. Just meh for me.

Tamaj

Smells very strong and offputting at first, the innicial scent is hard to describe, as it's almost like medicinal alchohol.
After a few minutes, it turns into something that resembles a peach/apricot scent, but a really cheap one. That note is so strong that I could only detect a hint of rose and not much else really. Bad, but not so bad that it made me give up on it.
Then after some 2 hours of wear it started to smell like smokey orange juice. Just... how?
I really wish I was exaggerating. A lot of people seem to love it, though, so it might just be my skin.

Would not recommend buying this blindly~

kati77

I had 1 time test Red Jeans edt on my own skin.
Awfully artificial odor, sweet orange.
Such orange sausage in a pinkish red color. That's exactly how the scent smells. Artificiality. The color of the bottle actually reflects what is inside. Probably the worst perfume from Versace.

Nina1999

Sweet and soft, not special or the best they have but I think it's a daily wearable perfume. I bought it at a discount price so no regrets

orangepekoe

Nice scent. If you like peach, violet and ylang ylang combination then it's for you. It is a floral fruit sweet which I like, almost balsamic. It lasts long too. Definitely a classic and not expensive. Good for all ages. The formula never changed. I am happy wearing this perfume. The only thing with Versace perfumes I noticed is that they can go off if you keep them for very long. So use it up!! I like the Blue Jeans for men and I buy it often for the male relatives. I wish they can make the Green Versace for men.

stearry

I really like how this smells its soft summer mornings, cherries, playful kisses, honey with tea its very light.

Shwets

About 10 years ago, I couldn't stand this perfume. It was one of my worst. Now I'm loving it! It must be the reformulation as it smells much softer than what it used to be and no longer gives me a headache.

It's very peachy juicy on me in a slight sour but sweet way. Really enjoying.

jasmine28x

I've heard so much about this - synthetic, tacky, cheap et cetera.
I quite like it, not a serious fragrance, but good one for supermarket, getting coffee or beach.
Bear in mind, this stuff is potent, no more than 2 sprays otherwise people around you will be vomiting and it has potential to smell tacky if over sprayed.
Very long-lasting.
Perfect gift for young teenagers getting into perfumes, and quite easy on the wallet

Toronto_pro

I bought it because of the nostalgia - I had it when I was at the university circa 95-96 and I was excited to know that they produce it again in 2016.

Good that I didn't spend much on it.

Definitely a summer scent. For the hottest day. Sour berry. A berry that is not ripe yet. Red currant, cranberry, sour cherry - or at least it settled like that on my skin.

Clean. Sour-berry-ish. Summary.

That's it. Not very complex. Will smell good on very young people, like me in 96 :) on a hot summer day.

alexis2017

i love wearing this to the office, i love the sweet smells... and this one meant to be sprayed on office jacket or linen and it will last long and smells better than sprayed on skin.

Nataliemarie

AAAmazing! I have loved this perfume for 13 years. A friend was wearing it, & I stalked her til I found out what it was..lol. I have had several bottles over the years now & have never grown tired of it. Mixes amazingly well w/ Chanel Cristalle eau Vert. It was a random combo,,but blew everyone away. Keep it light though, spray a little..

chlorodream

It's a fairly linear fruity floral.
To me, it starts off being juicy-peach (whereas I prefer creamy-peach) along with apricot and a sugary note which could possibly be vanilla but I don't recognise it as being vanilla.
The drydown is when you get the rose and florals coming through, making this a nice, inoffensive daytime scent, but the peach does stay right through to the end which limits the scent - it would be much more complex if that headachey fruity topnote would fade to fluttering florals instead of commanding the fragrance from start to finish. I liked it a lot as a day scent when I was in my late teens but now I find it not unique or complex enough to wear often.

I'd wear it to a summer barbeque to get the most from it. I've received compliments whilst wearing it due to its nice floral background to the juicy initial notes.

Sillage - at least arm's length if not a little more.
Longevity - 3-4 hours on skin, longer on clothing.

eden.wells

I'm afraid that I'm one of those who do not like this fragrance at all. This was given to me as a Christmas gift a few years ago. When I saw the packaging and flacon, my first thoughts were that Versace should stick to doing whatever else it is they do.

The actual scent on me was indescribable, somewhere between cheap room freshener and pesticide, a very chemical smell. After trying it a number of times, I cut my losses and threw it out.

obar6084

A family member came back from Switzerland and this was a gift from her along with Blue Jeans for my younger boy cousin. I was young and was really excited because of the canister it came with more than the actual perfume. I would use it as a keepsake holder of almost anything. The actual perfume, I like it enough to finish the whole bottle. It was flowery and fresh but I think I like Blue Jeans more. Sometimes I would see them around drugstore or grocery store and I check them out, brings back memory but not enough to get them.

juliajulep

sorry this is hands down the worst smell ever. i literally almost vomited, no exaggeration.

kr8andnspire

This was the strangest scent to me in the store. I could not figure out what I was actually smelling. Knowing that the scent would change, I was curious and bought it on a whim because the price is unbeatable! I have always been a fan of both men and women Versace perfume, and I immediately got complimented. One man described it as a calm floral aroma. I personally am a spice and sandalwood lover, and for such a feminine smell I am surprised at how much I love this! It doesn't smell like a cheap girly odor, I actually find it quite mature and mesmerizing. Its very unique. Understanding perfume settles differently on each individual, I encourage you to give it a chance on yourself. For the price it is worth it.

La_Douleur_Exquise

It reminds me of a road trip with friends. Sweet, warm, like a hippie eating candy. I am surprised how much I like it since I usually prefer less "sticky" sweetness.

artisy

What drew me to test this on myself? It was the most hideous bottle I had ever seen. I thought for sure this was a cheapie perfume or knockoff and was shocked to see "Versace" on the bottle.

It smells like fruity floral body spray without all the heavy sweetness. A bit dated feeling, like something that is aimed for middle aged patrons. Its scent is something you'd find at Crabtree and Evelyn sitting in a sale bin -pleasant but not worth the fuss at full price.

thehazysea

I have no idea why I bought this. I guess I was curious based on all the contradicting reviews and it was on clearance and now it's on my vanity and I'm giving it the side-eye from across the room.

I can't decide it the bottle is cool or hideous. I can't decide if the juice is pleasant or terrible. Everything about this fragrance is confusing to me. I think I regret this purchase and yet I always would've wondered...

To my nose this smells unwearable in the bottle, screechy and artificial. On the skin, it turns into a floral shampoo with tons of peach and rose (the exact same peach and rose in Elizabeth Taylor's Diamonds & Rubies to be exact) and ends with a vague fruity freshness. I won't be able to wear it (out) yet I probably won't be able to part with it.

EDIT: Ended up donating my bottle, I knew it would just end up collecting dust in my collection and I wanted it to go to someone who will love it.

starshining73

Un tuffo negli anni 90...
pesca, albicocca, fiori bianchi ed un pò di muschio.
Ricorda un po' la vecchia formulazione di Trèsor.

auroramaria

In Italy this has been re issued last year and can be found on line at a very good price.OK it's not a masterpiece but it smells so good and that's what counts. It's jammy sweet with some freshness and it lasts many hours on the skin. This is perfect for spring and summmer use.Very enjoyable.

Countrygurl

Beautiful scent, shocked so many poor reviews. A long time ago I used to get lots of compliments when I wore this in high school. I had several people buy it after me telling them. I still love it. Smells very clean , fresh, mix of light apricot and roses .I like this scent so much I found a dollar tree dupe of it called Red Wear , just for nostalgia .. Love it

ladyinthewater

I think Red Jeans is not everybody's cup of tea. Some people say it intoxicates them, however, I love the scent very much. Maybe it's partly because of sentimental reasons. I once found the iconic metal packaging at the back of my mom's dressing table a long time ago. So whenever I sniff it, I remember my mom. In other words, this perfume may be old lady-like :P
The scent also mixes with my body odor's very well, thus it is very long lasting. In addition, it is quite cheap, but still smells sexy.

katarinaketibeti

The first time I was wearing it,it was during the day ofcourse and as I walked ,some girls turned around and started questioning "whitch flower is smell so beautifuly" It was funny to me cause I wasnt aware of how strong it was. It is very powerful smell, strong, fresh, bright and a bit flirty. Also it keeps my mood better. I love it,specialy in the spring! :)

Cocolisa

I've had a bottle of this for years and used to really dislike it. However, something made me try it again today and I've changed my mind. I quite like this now! For such an affordable price it is very long lasting and lovely. I smell mostly roses and peach in this one. I find this quite heavy. One or two sprays lasts the whole day on me and gives a lovely scent. Three sprays or more gives me a headache. I'm gonna start wearing this again. It suits the spring time very well.

FabulouslyLazy

I cannot put up with this perfume. Fact. It's acid overpowering pesticide! I do not perceive any of of the notes clearly, to me it's just a synthetically cloying smell mixed with rotten alcohol-soaked fruit. The alcohol comes out very strong, gosh, and the lasting power is...well, everlasting!!! I see that many reviews claim that Red Jeans was a high-school signature and has a 90s vibe...well, since the perfume is out of production, maybe it went sour. That's why it smells so bad.

lisaminner69

This is another go-to for me if I can't decide on what to wear. I always keep a stash of this.

Lexa

I used to like it,and that is when i was very young,in the 90's.Haven't tried it recently and i think after seeing it here i will.Hope i will like it now also.

Evafresa

Horrible!! It makes me sick, I hate it.

ağustos

Too strong for me, I was expecting a softer scent according to the peach, apricot, sandalwood notes. Lasts very long.

Marie_Zet

Not bas but not good at all. I´ve recieved it as a present so I have used to use it at home or simply for casual daily situations. It´s a little bit sweet and pure smell. However, for me nothing catchy and special. I prefer peculiar and personal aromas which people associate with me. And this one doesn´t belong to them.

Krissylovesjesus

Versace red jeans I'm not sure on this one,I like it as maybe only a casual stay at home perfume. It smells sweet&not well blended, fruit, vanilla, somewhat almost fresh,a combination of floral fruit,it's not the worst, not the best, however I lIke the vintage feel&design of the bottle and the cute can!☺

Stinkerd

This is way, way WAY too sweet for me. Also very synthetic and gives me a headache.

Katty M

Love it;girly smell;long lasting;but I only buy it now on internet;it's not avaible in stores

tru4reele

So I just bought this today at TJ Maxx. It's a rainy day here and I was really feeling down in the dumps. I smelled this perfume and oddly enough I really like it which surprises me. I have learned to smell perfumes myself and not to depend on these reviews for purchasing. This smells like Pretty Woman from the early 90's. Yes, a sexy hooker and I like it! And I love the name of it too.

ETA: I am giving this away. Dont even know what i was thinking at first.

scratchnsniff29

Oh my gosh!
I'm shocked to see so many bad reviews.
This was my scent in highschool and I always got compliments every where I went wearing this.

KellyKel

Yuck. The worst offering from Versace. Very loud, synthetic, and chemical. The dry down, hours later, is tolerable with a light peach, powder smell.

sasana

I liked this smell on others and bought it for myself. Sadly on my skin it smells chemically sweet and like strawberry fizzy lemonade with lily of the valley. I wear it rather rarely. I still like it though. In the 90s it always reminded me of gummibears when I smelled it on others.

Bloomingdaisy

First time I smell this perfume when my aunty back to the town and she's smell very nice, peachy and flowery.
Then I wore it when I'm on SHS which is 10 years ago. I love the smell and this was my signature scent.
Last year, I bought and wore this perfume again but the smell is changing on me. Too strong and lil bit spicy on me. I don't why.. this is too bad, I love the perfume so much :(
later, I'd like to buy it again and hope the scent will be same like the first time I wore it :)

Memi_La

Opens with a very sharp and crisp peach and apricot (that I can completely understand being overpowering and headache inducing on some) then mellows out some as the freesia, violet and lily of the valley kick in. Overall, it maintains a very fruity/berry scent though and I agree with the comments below, there is definitely some raspberry in here that is not listed. I must admit, I have a love/hate relationship with this one. I adore it in the summer time when a strong fruity blast is more than welcome, as I go outside to give it plenty of room to fill. In the fall or winter, you'll probably find me agreeing with the negative comments on how it's sickly sweet, too strong and has a cloying quality about it, when worn in close quarters. I'd rate it an 8 out of 10 on the right occasions and probably a 4 or 5 any other time. It's like a good scent that is often ruined by it's own strength but definitely has times and places where it's great to be worn. It's also a very unique and immediately distinguishable scent, which is probably why anybody who remembers the 90's is filled with nostalgia over it.

Lipglossjunkee

This *is* 1994 to my nose. Sweet rose, peach, apricot---a heavy hairspray note in there that I associate mostly with Versace. ;) Freesia, LOTV, water lily, and a lot of musk. I don't get any sandalwood when I wear it, just the above notes, and in kind of a clamoring, loud sort of way. I can't put my finger on it, but this one smells and feels dated on me. I get a decidedly harsh aqua net note the entire time...aqua net and peach kool aid mixed with flowers. I enjoy it for it's nostalgia, though. It does take me back to the early/mid 90's, and for that reason it makes me smile. I saved a little decant of this for a trip down memory lane, but on my skin it's just too screechy to do more than just sniff (not wear).

LaviniaMidnight

I visited my French college roommate during Christmas in the 90's, and her sweet mother gifted me with Red Jeans. It is a loud floral that needs a light hand, but I liked it and it worked with my chemistry very well. The dry down became a softer vanilla tinged floral and the lasting power was excellent. I wear it only occasionally but I keep it in my fragrance wardrobe when I want to remember Paris in 1994. On a side note, bees are very attracted to this fragrance and one spring day I had to make a run to the indoors because I was getting chased by them :), so wear with caution.

promaya

I used to have it when I was in high school. I maybe still have the can somewhere.
It's a very specific fragrance, probably most suitable for high school girls. I doubt I would ever wear it again. I liked the light, pink version that was released later, 'tho.

Sweelty

All I can say is "yuck"! I am pretty disappointed in Versace for the first time! I must say that lasting power is great, so people who love this should be pretty happy. As for me, I am glad I did not purchase a full bottle of this....
