Character: Close %90 or possibly %95 to Terre D'Hermes in my opinion. The remaining percentage consists of sweetness, sourness and feminine edges.

Sillage: 4 sprays each wrist, and it radiates half of an arms length at best, not a single inch/centimeter more.

Longevity: Keeps projecting for 4 hours, but sometimes I can smell it even after 6 hours or more. Then it becomes a skin scent. On clothes it is noticable for 5 days, you need to spray well.

Gender: Starts projecting as "more male" category, the more it stays on skin, the more its feminine characteristics become noticable. In practice, I think it just stays right in the middle of the "unisex" level and "more male" level. Not one of them but just in the middle.

Atomizer: small, short bursts; not good enough for the price.

Occasion: indoor activities with loved one, friends, family, or by yourself - close contact is the only way for it to be noticed. For partying or office use probably would be a bad choice.

Similar to thd eau intense vetiver. Not to classical TDH. If this would perform better, I'd love it. Great scent.

Encici

Sonia Constant you are a genius. I don't know how many fragrances I like was made by you. This vetiver is everything. I'm a female and just smelled it for fun, because I love vetiver, but I didn't expect such a beautiful blend. It's pure smooth vetiver, so elegant and refined. Very manly and classy. I'm gonna buy this for my man and occasionally enjoy it myself too haha.
There are better performers, I would say it performes moderately, but for this price it's alright.

Franz Gambini

Almost bought this impulsively, then waited and got it 50% off at 35$ CAN. Delicious opening, relatively similar dry-down. It's like a bouquet of woodsy notes, slightly sour, almost has a camping lemongrass aroma to it. Potent, and stable. Medium sillage, medium longevity. This might just become my new signature.

Airtan

This is gorgeous, a hidden gem, who could expect that skin care company could make such wonderful perfume? I couldn't take it seriously until i decided to buy it for a discount, in fact i used so many discounts at the same time, they decided to replace a wood cap with plastic cap instead, i got upset at first but anyway (or maybe they changed the cap because of inflation and wanted to maintain a relevant price)

JasKiew

Have 2 bottles of this sitting in the cupboard so finally took one out to test. Been months...

Younger brother of Hermes Tdh. It should be named Tdh Light or another eau fraiche flanker. It is less cirtusy than Tdh but the whole complete dna is there. You take the iso e ladened tdh add tonka bean to make it sweeter and a clean Vetivet. It isn't a complicated scent profile as it consist mainly of Haitian Vetiver, cedar, sandalwood, leather and tonka bean. There's no citrus or dirty orange here thou but you get abit of sour here.

This makes it fresh, sweet and sourish. I don't get the leather here, maybe it's too soft. It's mainly the blend of Good quality Haitian Vetiver, sweetish tonka bean and a very Good creamy sour sandalwood aroma that's giving you this nice sourish aroma.

This comes from Under rated house Yves Rocher and the nose behind this is Master Perfumer Sonia Constant. The lady who came up with numerous very good rated frags that counts TFOL, TF Noir Extreme, Narciso Rodriguez For Him Bleu Noir, Moonlight Patchouli) which are scent profiles I'm more familiar with.

This cost less than a blue note and is often cheaper on special sales occasion, A good bottle to have on hand if you love Vetiver or want to try another tdh like cheap flanker or a light version of Encre Noir

Environmental conscious users may also note that this scent uses 93% ingredients from natural origin and only alcohol from botanical origin.

Verdict: 8.5/10 for a Vetiver frag.
9.5/10 for value and quality

A Vetiver fan must have

QuinnR

Amazing fragrance, smells similar to Terre d'hermes but less citrusy. Very classy and addicting smell. Performance wise its not the best. Solid 5 - 6 hours on the skin and moderate projection. Picked a 100ml bottle up for only 25$, so its a great deal. Especially for the smell

TRmen

The best gym fragrance for me. Nothing more...

Elfin Will

Meh... I was expecting to be surprised by this perfume... but not negatively! This perfume did not speak to me at all. Too fresh and sour for my taste, no leather notes, and the vetiver is too strong to the point of killing the other woody notes. I find that the next day it smells much better, when the vetiver softens a bit allowing a shy tonka to come through. If you like vetiver more than any other note, go for it. Otherwise, don't expect anything extraordinary...

Great bang for buck, silent, classy, simple. It doesn’t smell like Terre d’Hermes to me, we can’t just call any vetiver frag similar to TdH, this one doesn’t have any prominent citruses but goes to a vetiver dominant musky barbershop direction. Perhaps we can say TdH mid-drydown is similar but that one keeps citruses and sharp woods quite a while. Here though we get Vetiver, Iso E Super, tonnns of musks a la Galaxolide/Ethylene Brassylate, and coumarin, possibly Ambrox and Norlimbanol (to give the slight shaving foam note), all happening under a nice clean vetiver layer.

GoncaloCaleca

One of the most underrated fragrances. This fragrance really amazed me. Sonia Constant really made a very good and high-quality fragrance for very cheap (20€ for 50ml). I feel that this fragrance should appear much more in terms of it being a cheap fragrance that is not a clone (much harder to create a new fragrance than to just copy an existing one.) Similar to Terre D'Hermes but sweeter and more 'wearable'. Doesn't project much, but that makes it a very good masculine office that will be noticeable enough to get compliments.

Scentrack: Morrissey - Everyday is like Sunday

Cuir Vetiver is composed with utter imagination, a very modern, and a substantial fragrance. It’s inoffensive, easy to wear, clean, and sweet but very cleverly avoids the banality of today’s mass products. Imagine the ISO E Super cedar skeleton of Terre d’Hermes, broadened by the natural nutty aspect of Tonka bean and clean green vetiver. Like Ellena decided to make a more natural version of Terre d’Hermes with a nutty element of Vetiver Tonka. The vetiver is clearly present, but unfortunately, I expected more leather (cuir). I can only imagine a soft suede accord, made mostly of Tonka bean. Tonka is really pronounced in Cuir Vetiver, thus lovers of Mugler’s Pure Tonka could take this fragrance into consideration for Mugler’s summer version.

I really love the smell of it.. Its very unique.. Smells sexy and classy..

I got a lot of compliments wearing this scent.

Does no one else find this similar to Encre Noire, just slightly milder and weaker? I generally enjoy the softer perfumes, but this one is too weak even for me. Now I will try to layer it with other fragrances and see if it works better that way. I got it really cheap, so no regrets, but won't be buying another bottle.
Edit : So, I experimented with layering. Figured out, Cuir Vetiver gets overpowered by combining with stronger fragrances. But vetiver in itself, is a lasting note. Though you can go nose blind to it easily, it imparts longevity.
So the key is to pair it with mild fragrances. Just tried pairing it with CK All and got a small increase in intensity/longevity. Also pairs well with Comme Une Evidence from the same house. In both cases, pairing accentuated the sweet drydown of Cuir Vetiver, which is really nice.
Will try a few more combos and share them, if they work out.

Update : With time, my nose has learnt to appreciate this one. Not quite like Encre Noir. Definitely has a slight sweetness that the former lacks. But still very very subtle. It's really a toss up if my nose notices or not. Somedays, I am sensitive to the nice, soothing smell it has. Somedays, for the life of me I can't detect if I am wearing it. But for those days when it works, it's still worth it (and it costs so little)

harperhilton

yes, NR bleu noir (same perfumer) over TdH -- coming to rest on a cloud of iso e super. this latter is a little much, but it's overall very nice nonetheless.

Bvm13

This smells like anis liquor to me. Will try this again when it gets warmer, but for now this is not for me.

Redzzzz

Terre d'Hermes clone with a sweeter dry down. Really good to be honest.

lovetribe

more like Narciso rodriguez bleu noir. an everyday perfume that lasts over 12 hours on me. you will not be noticed but it will make you feel good about yourself. 7/10

Arber Cami

To me it has similarities to Terre d'Hermes but has its own personality. The tonka gives it a smooth, powdery touch to the perfume, without the "dirty orange" smell of Terre. To me the vetiver and tonka dominate the perfume I just get a little of leather, just a hint not much. Not great longetivity.

kuli

Terre D'Hermes and Vetiver Tonka mix. Very good value for money but not a beastly performer.

trevorstilerocks

Bought another bottle, this time 100 ml when Yves Rocher had a semi annual sale. This smells very natural and pleasing to the nose. The blend of vetiver and tonka bean is intoxicating. Yes, initial spray does reminds of Terre D' Hermes but TDH is linear, unlike CV which has a sweet drydown that lasts. This is one of my happy purchases. By the way, the new juice has a purplish color instead of brown now. I hope they didn't change the note breakdown.

Novoscentologist

An absolute beauty...

Elegant and warm, an Alcantara leather jacket with a bundle of vetyver roots stashed away in the inside pocket.
Hard to find now.

Old School Tie

Recently been layering this with Gucci Guilty Absolute. Naughty, I know, but they just work so well together.

ilprincipe

Terre d'Hermes on a budget. Performance on my skin was around 6 hours, sillage is ok.
But it smells very well blended !
I do reccomend if you can find it around 20€ to 25€

samosbabos

Very simplistic perfumery...opening is quite ordinary; citrus and vetiver, after 2 minutes, citrus starts to go away and base note starts to feel itself.I think there are vetiver and tonka as base notes, no heart note, only citrus as top note.Vetiver note used in here is similar to one used in Terre d Hermes and Montale red vetiver which is really lovely. But combination of vetiver with sweet Tonka is unusual but not so good. I thought that sweet vetiver might be cool but after I bought and smelled this I changed my mind. Vetiver must not be supported by sweet notes, it spoils vetiver's character. Maybe I believe there is someone who loves this. But I only like it because it is different.

Longevity is ok, but sillage is below average which is logical because this synthetic tonka can give a headache if it was stronger.

For this price range(30-35 dollars) It is really a great fragrance.

Kam

A personal favorite! To me it smells incredibly manly : very similar to terre d'hermes, and strangely also ambre noir of the same designer, although technically the notes should smell very different. In my opinion ambre noir is a bit more warm, well, like ambre. Cuir vetiver is more sharp and cold, which imho makes it more masculine though.

herzl_f

I bought this for my boyfriend, but it turns out I like it on me, too. Hence, we now share the bottle lol. The leather note (kinda clean and more like suede) is more prominent on his skin, while the scent gets sweeter (almost vanillic) on mine.

It always amazes me how certain perfumes smell different depending on our skin chemistry. I did not expect it to be the case on this one because it is inexpensive.

alphairone

Yves Rocher seems to bring the quality and depth at a decent price point, and Cuir Vetiver is no exception. The leather is really just a subtle supporting note as this is primarily vetiver and tonka, with some woody radiance and even an incense impression in the dry down.

I appreciate that it is a sweeter, softer alternative to far more earthy, grassy, or citric vetivers that are currently in my arsenal (Guerlain, Carven, Terre d'Hermes, etc).

While softer, it is however, substantive, lasting six plus hours and hovering a couple feet from the skin in the most pleasant manner. Quite nice!

Aftershave

This is a very good scent. I get a peppery and somewhat creamy vetiver. You can wear it anytime anywhere. Good quality, last for 6 hours. I have Ambre Noir and Nature Homme from Yves Rocher and I like them a lot but not as much as this one.

FreddyK

Nice relaxing scent that smells unique and real.

Actually, bought this in YR whilst buying shower gels which were on offer and go very well with some fragrances I have. All three men’s scents in this line are surprisingly good - I found the other two much more potent and robust, indeed, I wanted the amber one but my wife preferred this. The Vetiver in this is nice and natural, I detect no leather at all, however, I had been sniffing loads of different stuff so not really ideal conditions for forming a final opinion. Anyway, if fits in with my philosophy for heavily discounted frags - go heavy on the trigger, performance issues can be overcome thus...
EDIT: So, I opened my box of this and it has a dark wooden cap, not the pale one that the tester had or the bottle pictured here. Maybe they ran out or something. I prefer the lighter cap but anyway. The vetiver is prominent and natural, slightly sharp and with a hint of sourness. There is a cumin vibe underpinning this green sourness, redolent of Déclaration de Cartier. It is as if Déclaration and Td’H Eau Intense Vetiver have been blended together. I takes quite some time for a freshly soaped leather note to make its appearance and when it does so it is to lift the vetiver just enough to reveal cedar wood shavings and a slight vanilla sweetness that is the tonka, but very subtle. The soapiness may well be a function of the sandalwood in there. I actually like this a lot. For me this is a little nod towards the fanboy/girl tendencies often seen in perfumery. There is a definite Jean-Claude Ellena influence going on here, a little bit of Christine Nagel too. I had no idea this is what I was going to get when I bought Cuir Vetiver. Performance is relatively subtle, it sits close to the skin but longevity is around six hours. To be honest, I am not sure I would want something like this projecting like crazy or leaving a huge trail behind me. Less is definitely more in this case. Of course, for those wanting more just go heavy on the sprays, this stuff can be picked up for the price of a round of drinks.

Pez_Enelrio

I cant help it but I feel a lot of musk also and hardly beleive it is not amongs the notes. this is the sexiest of the line. I also think this is like... juicier? than Terre d'Hermes

trevorstilerocks

Got a 50ml on sale and I'm happy knowing that this smells like TDH. Love the dry down when it goes sweeter compared to TDH that remains linear all throughout with it's earthy smell. nevertheless, I loved it.

Don Joe

I personally cannot detect any leather in this. IMO this is an exceptionally pleasant and versatile fragrance. The vetiver is not overly pronounced (ie. rather dry, not too sour). There's quite a lot of sweetness. Very good wearability. Unfortunately doesn't last long, so I wouldn't pay the full 50€ / 100ml for it.

korleis

I bought this on a sale this summer. When I tried it for the first time, the weather was hot, dry and sunny and I could only smell the prominent sweet, almondy vibe from the tonka bean. Thus, I left it on the shelf until recently.

Now, in October, when the weather is colder, more damp, leaves are turning red and yellow, this fragrance suddenly blossomed with its full power.
Sweet-sour, smoky, blends well with earthy, woody accords and feels very accurate on my skin on a autumn's day here up north.
It projects well for an Yves Rocher fragrance, longevity 7-8 hours at this time of year on my skin.
Inoffensive, suitable for office use/work/day time scent.

Update: now it’s winter here, and I get weaker longevity, around 3-4 hours, mostly a skin scent after that. Will remain my autumn darling.

oswjim

this vetiver smells great ... mixed with enough tonka to create a fantastic mixture of fresh leathery sweet class -- performs great on hot weather although I think could be use year around -- paid around 16€ for a 100ml bottle

teoteddy1

Fresh, woody scent, perfect for office, inoffensive, some resemblance to Terre D'hermes. Pretty good longevity for a Yves Rocher fragrance, also quite inexpensive. Blind buy worth.

Agost

This was gifted to me recently. It was not to my taste; I much prefer Guerlain Vétiver. The adjective that comes to mind when trying to describe how it felt to me is "abrasive". Much like the cap in the image, it has an unfinished quality to it.

siririschmoos

This, this right here, is its own scent.......not like, a clone or sorta-like, but a masculine aroma that is a great companion during all seasons but mostly in the warmer time of year.

This DOES NOT have the flint-like note that Hermes' Terre contains, making it much more of a friendly scent.

Vetiver and beautiful citrus, it's what you wear , along with that nice linen or seersucker suit in the high heat or casual evenings.

Rock this and wear it with confidence gentlemen!

Sixxscents

Inexpensive little gem of a vetiver here that's been blended with some real finesse. Ingredients smell surprisingly natural for what I imagine wasn't the most generous of budgets, and it has a delightful texture. To me it smells more "creamy" than sweet and has a delicate smoky-suede texture. I liken it to a hybrid of TdH and Vetiver Tonka...really quite nice for the price!

giuseppe98gp83

This vetiver is Weird ... Initially it hits you then comes the classic tonka and the cedar (inseparable bond). It reminds me of an almond cream. Leather perceptible at the end.Nothing in common with Terre D'Hermes in my opinion.
I don't like it.

richmilton

I know a few guys in my business network that wears this and I can see why. It's a wonderful scent, especially for the summer. I can clearly see why this is marketed to men. It has an old school vibe but in a modern composition kind of way. In other words, a classic manly scent without being dated.

Some people claim this is unisex, but there's just too many guys wearing it so I could never imagine my wifey smelling like one of the guys. Nope, sorry, no can do. It will always be a staple I my summer rotation. In fact, the wife insists.

stel15

Beautiful. A hidden gem. 8/10

adrienn99

i've had this for a while being a lover of all things vetiver, tonka and leather.

Most perfumes designed at women turn way too sweet or musky on my skin, up to tooth-aching levels, so i steer clear from most celebrity gourmand sh.te that is in circulation these days...

Cuir Vetiver here warms up nicely, round and slightly edgy on my skin; probably compliments of the tonka.

Recommended for women who feel feminine enough and don't need approval/guidence from a fragrance label :P

c00lc00l

Smells exactly like Narciso Rodriguez for Him Bleu Noir which I own and I got this one by a mistake! now I have two similar smells!

sharon.ramsey.900

very nice vetiver scent, can be worn by women no bother,

Midnight Lady

I was tempted to try this one as people mention here this could be used as unisex. When I sprayed it on me, I got lots of sharp and edgy vetiver and my first thought was "how could anyone said that this could be unisex labeled... it's so masculine". I apologize.

The drydown proved me wrong. After the vetiver settles, I get to smell some lovely tonka/leather drydown. The scent gets a bit sweeter.

Sure the vetiver makes it leaning more to the masculine side of it, but yeah, as it gets sweeter, softer, more gentle, I see the point of women giving this a try.

All season suitable.

refikama

Vintage kinda classy cologne on men and luckily, sexy smart and cool fragrance on women.

Leah lilly

@pasha I agree with you, this perfume has very weak sillage and longevity, I couldn’t pick any of these listed tones it’s all about citrus and then disappear after just 30 minuets. Disappointed

2words

citric vetiver

scentury

It does smell like TdH upon initial spray. However, it is quite linear and disappears entirely after almost 2 hours. For it's price, one can't complain, though. It's like a budget friendly Terre d Hermes. Women can also use it. 3.5 out of 5 stars for me,

pasha

Very dashing and polished cologne, lasts about 15 mins on my skin.

Maybe Yves Rocher sends the good stuff to the US and UK, and sends the crappy watered down bottles to the rest of the world.

I wish to find an identical scent from some other brand and pay good money for it for some respectable staying power. And no, smells nothing like Terre. If anything, NR Bleu Noir smells more like Terre than anything else.

missan

I would consider this to be close to a chemical mess. And no vetiver oil.

frk200

i got a lot of citruses in there

aqua_de_la_vita

I bought this juice and was shocked how much it smelt like Terre Hermes...WOW! Considering everything, this juice is decent quality at a fraction of the price. There's definitely a smig more Vetiver which helps to clam the sweetness from Tonka bean.
The only thing that puzzles me is the name! Definitely Vetiver, what happened to the Cuir(leather)? There's just enough spicy notes to keep this juice more masculine rather than unisex. There's woman who enjoy wearing more masculine vib.
Longevity and Silage is moderate overall lasting between 4-6hrs several spray's.
Finally,
Really..so what if there's no leather! I enjoy using the fragrance as is. What I believe happened was that Tonka bean killed any vib of leather coming through.
On the other hand if Rocher tried to tweek this juice and decided to go for it and create a more robust leather base version..keeping the main notes the same..I believe it would be a homerun! 8.5/10. EXCELLENT VALUE! !!!

Bitter-sweet is how i would describe it.
I always like masculine scents. This one is masculine while VERY sweet (to the fruitier side of sweetness). A bit airy. May be some leather in it...
The sweetness dies down quick enough to not hurt my nose/before a get a headache. What's left is woody, airy & sweetness.
Didn't expect any for-men perfume to be this sweet.
A classic for me.

obahnas

This has a potential of an "underrated classic"

Classic, chic, versatile and great value

opens with a blast of vetiver (and I believe a very light hint of bright citrus, possibly bergamot), then tonka-leather combination, carrying the leather all the way to the end.

straightforward vetiver essential for all vetiver lovers out there, a bit different from your typical vetiver scent. the vetiver note does remind me of Encre Noire. Very nice, very versatile, very pleasant.

skyelightfetish

Got a sample as one of those scented tissue packs and I haven't washed this off yet... but I won't be buying it either as it seems a bit simple/shallow and not by design.

Simple blast of cedar and liquorish vetiver with quite a sweet face, linear and exactly the same on paper few hours later, but on my skin dried to a soft, pillowy woodiness. It doesn't smell particularly masculine to me (or feminine), very neutral scent but then I wear a lot of nominally masculine fragrances.

1968voronkov

100% agree with @cylob - cheap, cynthetic and unbalanced !
Total disappointment !!!

Lucyana

I'm a woman and i love vetiver! This is a very Nice fragrance and afordable. But it's just to masculine for me. I want a vetiver parfume on the feminine side. Please, If You know more of a soft vetiver parfume tell me. Thank You!

Cylob

A blind buy which I totally regret.
All the ingredients I love. All the perfumes that people reminds this off I love as well (Sycomore, Terre d'Hermes, Vetiver Tonka).
This doesn't come close to the quality of the perfumes mentioned.
To my nose this is a sharp, synthetic, unbalanced cedar overdose.
I think I would have liked it more with a bit more sweetness added that rounded off the sharpness of the vetiver and the cedar.

Emma0714

This scent really is a bang for the buck. Really affordable to begin with, and then I recently bought a giftset with this on sale and it was down right cheap (14 usd)

To say this is a dupe for Terre d'Hermés is taking it a bit to far - Since the obvious lack of citrus in this one. They are not siblings, but they could be cousins at least.

Cuir Vetiver is really all about the tonkabean and the vetiver. Lots of tonka in this for me, and I also get a slightly dirty woody mix with leather. But it still manages to be fresh and a bit airy. Really well balanced, and for that price, no complaints about longevity at all. Smells expensive.

Lambda

I have and love both - Cuir Vetiver and Terre d'Hermes.
Terre offers citruses while Cuir Vetiver gives a tonka note.
Is this the best Yves Rocher male release that I know? Possibly.

lovetribe

correction ... has a great longevity ... 12 hours +
It smells clean, very soapy.

lovetribe

a woody-leather version of terre d' hermes . an economic alternative for every day. clean and soapy. I like very much. but it does not last long. 7/10 poor performance.

micavana

This one was a recent blind buy for me based on the notes. Vetiver, Tonka, Leather, Cedar and Sandalwood, What is NOT to like in these?

After receiving my bottle I gave it a full day wearing and was a bit surprised. CV is a lot lighter than I expected. It is a fresh and clean fragrance with a 1980s feel. Soft and well balanced, with moderate projection and longevity on my skin.

Cheep in price, but great in quality. Definitely worth the money. This has become the scent I wear when I am going to play tennis. A fresh, light and pleasant fragrance.

Bottom line: If you are looking for an affordable fresh and clean scent, you should try this one.

Trab

this was a blind buy for me and I absolutely love it - it has become one of my favourites - a cheap alternative for Hermes though I think the YR version is stronger and better than Hermes - if I put some on my hand I can't stop smelling my hand - this is a so lovely smell

afy

That was the most identical one among other scents in the yr store so I picked up this one. Not amazing but good but after less than half an hour it faded away. I could smell nothing. At home I sprayed like 10 20 times but the result was same. So a big regret for me.

Kokusu markanin diger urunlerine gore farkli olmasina ragmen kaliciligi abartmiyorum yarim saatin altinda. Sanirim bir sisesini iki uc haftada bitiririm. Bence uzak durulmasi gereken bir marka en azindan erkek parfumlerinden.

teotwawki

So I was reading these reviews and they made me interested enough to take a trip to the local Yves Rocher store. I entered the store, looked for the bottle and happily noticed the entire range was discounted @ 50% (hooray for summer sales!). 18 euros lighter in my wallet I walked out with this without even testing it. What's to complain about for that amount of money, right? I blind bought for 200 euro once so this was peanuts. Either way, the thrill of taking a gamble once in a while is worth my 18 euro. Take my money and shut up.

Well, best blind buy cheapo deal ever because it's exactly what Colin described. You get this awesome blend between terre d'hermes and vetiver tonka. Now, if you're familiar with these fragrances and I'm really honest it feels a bit like wearing a cheaper clone but the unique thing about cuir vetiver is that it actually clones 2 fragrances within the same bottle and they both let their identity out at the right times. These two play nicely together rather than fighting for attention. There is the obvious overlap but in hindsight I find this pretty nifty manufactured layering.

I should also not say 'cheaper clone' because it's decent quality. Sure it's a little bit less transparent and airy compared with Hermes quality but only when your nose is buried in it. From a distance this stuff smells greeeeaaat!

Longevity and silage are also decent. No nuclear bombs hidden in this bottle but good enough to last 4-6 hours. I received a compliment after the 3 or 4 hour mark although she's familiar with TDH and thought I was wearing this, go figure.

If you can pick this up for low value and you like the above mentioned fragrances this is a no brainer. Actually, at this value this is a no brainer. Period. Adidas drugstore fragrances sometimes sell more expensive and lack half of the sophistication you can find in this bottle.

ps. Also bought the showergel for a whopping 4 euro. Score!

7/10

rhr

I tested this one and I found it way too serious for me. Until the moment it dried down to something really nice. Woods, powder and some earthy vetiver in the background. The word "sophisticated" comes to mind.

I have this one. Smells so Vetiver, no franc leather, tonka or woody notes either.
Light, fresh and simple, It is a cheap alternative of Terre d'Hermes, but with less projection and longivity (almost zero).
Get it with it's shower gel for around $15, I really enjoy taking shower with it.

In couple of words, it could be a very good scent if Yves Rocher works more on the concentration and longivity.

Anyways, this is all what you get for your $15. Not a waste.

I like the combination of tonka bean and vetiver of this fragrance, so calmy... Better for fresh and little bit cold autumn and spring weathers, and daytime surely.

Genuinely surprised by this extremely well-balanced and engaging fragrance. It has an elegance and smoothness that's rare for a fragrance of this price range. It smells very 'niche' but is very accessible. Hints of incense, a very pleasant vetiver, elegantly put together and shying away from being too 'fresh' or 'light'. This is a fragrance that could start someone off on the road to more daring future choices! Yet it's very pleasant and easy to wear to the office as well. Highly recommended as a solid darker scent for day or night when you don't want to be TOO dark, but want a very 21st century serious smell.

Where can I try this in southern California??

the economic version of terre d'hermes. well done . but I know nothing about the performance ... but on paper has faded after 2 hours. 7/10

For it's price it looks and smells really good! Yves Rocher creates elegant and easy-to-use products for each and everyone, and does it in a refined and charming french way. I'm more into body care products from this brand, but if I received this fragrance as a gift, I would definitely use it with pleasure. Even the liquid colour is a beautiful touch to the image and character of this product. Well done!

Well this is nice. More than nice actually. It smells great. Fresh vetyver all the way with a hint of pepper in the start. 25 year old girlfriend that can't stand oldschool colognes coldn't get enough of it so it is not dated smell for sure. Best suited for spring imo. I think longevity could be better, don't know about sillage. I will definetly test this more.

Headnotes fizzy and peppery like in Terre d'Hermes , then a quiet vetiver, not a rooty one and a tender leather, nice balance between the both . It lasts rather long for a perfume so soft (similar in the basenotes of Vetiver Tonka , that's true, but a modest Vetiver Tonka ) . Nothing dark , it's a bright and casual cologne. Quite good for the price

I sprayed only on the paper and it smelled like Encre noire. I feel fresh (citrus) vetiver, but later few hours it transforms little bit sweeter when the tonka turns out, this part is more pleasant to my nose, I enjoy well. I think women could wear Cuir vetiver also, it's enough unisex. Fits to the warmer weather in Spring or I can imagine wearing in a rainy day.
Reminds me other Hermés scents also, because it has very natural feeling...

Roughnose

Finally had a chance to try the new Cuir Vetiver at my local Yves Rocher store.
Even though I had a vague idea what to expect from the scent pyramide, something deep in my mind was still hoping for a re-edition of their wonderful woody citrus scent "Eau de Vetiver" from the 1980s.
Well, I like tonka bean, but I also hoped the tonka note would be much less detectable just because it is so common these days and there`s always the potential risk about tonka to turn the dry down into a sweet cloying mess.
Rather disappointed I finished my shopping and Cuir Vetiver was not included.
One hour later on my way home I couldn`t stop sniffing my wrist again and again. The drydown was so nice, a woody vetiver in a creamy, almost powdery base.
It smelled expensive and sophisticated and to my surprise I got a violet note. I`m not talking about violet leaves, I mean the flowers. What an unexpected and interesting twist.

Now that I own a bottle of CV I can also see the comparison to Terre d`Hermes but Cuir Vetiver completely seems to lack of the orange note, I get some lemon or bergamot in the opening but no orange. Maybe that`s the reason why Cuir Vetiver works so well for me whereas Terre d`Hermes doesn`t at all.
Sillage and longevity could be better.

very YR and very masculine at the same time,in their Nature tradition etc, guess its an ok one and a safe bet for fathers day gifts etc

ParfumAmour

I find this a strong vetiver with a touch of sweet leather in the background.
The sweet leather is very appealing, very masculine in a soft way, rather than harsh.
I would certainly find this attractive on a man. I really don't think this could be unisex, of course anyone could wear it, but it would still have the classic 'manly' smell.

This was a blind buy for me, in the hope that it might reveal itself as something of a cut-price Vetiver Tonka (Hermes). I am delighted to report that it kinda does! Vetiver is the main event here and the leather - as others have noted - is rather subtle. I would proffer suede more than leather, because this is a soft and quiet fragrance. On the vetiver side of things it doesn't have the sharpness of say, VE by FM or, on the leather, Fahrenheit. But the tonka is very much there, especially in the heart. Before VT fans rush out to buy this (not that you necesarily would on my advice) let me make clear that this is not a GPH / Bentley Absolute type scenario... CV doesn't have the intensity of VT or the extra gourmand notes that flesh it out so beautifully BUT comparing wrist to wrist, I'd be confident in saying that if you like VT, buy this. It's well-blended, comes in a nice bottle and (in the current UK sale) costs less than a fifth of VT.

canadiandude

I purchased this fragrance because I really enjoy the smell of vetiver and also of leather. In Cuir Vetiver, the leather is so extremely subtle; almost imperceptible but it is there. However, it's the vetiver that shines here. It's not overpowering but it come across as smooth and even, staying in the foreground until the drydown when the leather starts to make its presence felt. This is also where the tonka bean comes into the mix but it is too subtle to really notice. Cuir Vetiver reminds me of Montale's Red Vetiver but whereas Red Vetiver is a powerhouse for a vetiver-based fragrance, Cuir Vetiver lacks when it comes to sillage and longevity. On my skin, it lasted about 2-3 hours and its sillage was somewhere around 1 foot/30cm from my body. If Yves Rocher ever produced an Extreme version of this, I'd jump on it in a sec.

As for who this is for, I'd say either someone, male or female, who is 30+ or someone who simply wants to feel a little more sophisticated. It's not a clubbing scent nor a particularly romantic fragrance but for the price, it's an enticing purchase.

stephan

Actually, this smells very good, the leather is very subtle and not offensive but the fragrance seems to be very light, like the price.

I got a sample in the mail today. The smell is really impressive. The leather is soft and gentle. The vetiver is also soft. The fragrance feels very balanced, no sharp edges. It is aimed to men but I think it feels very unisex. Wonderful! Can´t stop smelling my wrist.
Good work Yves Rocher. :)

Spicy and woody. overall a nice perfume but smells old (vintage if you prefer). This is not a smell i would consider sexy in a man, but i wouldn´t mind someone near me smelling like this. I just think it is something for older gentlemen.
Sillage is non existent, even when sprayed on clothes. I can´t say anything about longevity.

Please, Urbez larres.lardies... If you're interested in this scent like I am, then great for you. But seriously, join the rest of us in the 21st century who are open minded to enjoy both male and female fragrances depending on our own tastes.

Did you happen to notice my signature scent? Women smell amazing in a good leather scent, and my husband loves it on me as well. I appreciate, and wear, several male oriented fragrances, such as Prada Amber Noir Intense, Amouage Jubilation, Bvlgari Aqua, DG Swimming in Lipari, etc... I could go on, but I will spare you.

If you appreciate women at all, you will appreciate that each has their own taste in fragrances, just as men do. For the record, this is on my want list as a blind buy. And, just to be a thorn in your side, I hope there are a bunch of women who've already usurped your Quorum, Tsar, and Kouros. Have a nice day. :)

Oh My Stars! I want this fragrance badly!! It sounds perfect for me. Not one note is one I hate or feel lukewarm about. So, yes I shall be getting this in one of their special offers.
