How do you apply the Cosrx AHA 7 Whitehead Power Liquid? A few newbie questions.

Question

Hi r/AsianBeauty! I'm sorry for my ignorance -- I'm pretty new to this stuff. I just purchased the Cosrx AHA liquid after reading a lot of reviews, but no review I've yet found explains exactly how best to apply the product. I read the directions on the box, but I want to hear from your experience! Thank you so much.

Do you apply Cosrx AHA 7 White Power Liquid with hands or with a cotton pad?

Can you apply it to damp skin, or does the skin have to be dry?

Do you always wash it off afterwards?

How long do you wait before washing off and applying other products? The box says 5 minutes; a couple reviews say 30 minutes.

Hi there! I'll try to answer as best I can:

  1. Use hands, mostly, as too much product gets lost with a cotton pad and it seems like too much abrasiveness for me (physical + chemical)

  2. Usually wait for my skin to dry a bit before using it

  3. I don't wash it off, but it depends on your skin sensitivity. Some people are fearful of chemical exfoliation burns from leaving it on, but I've never had that happen. You can either wash it off after ~20 min or just use a toner.

I started with using a cotton pad, but found that I was using 3-4 squirts in order to use it on my whole face. I switched to putting it into my hand, and now only need 1-2 squirts. I feel like I'm saving a bunch of product this way! I apply it when my skin is dry (I use it after 20-30 min wait of BHA). I never wash it off (I don't wash off any of my actives). And I wait 20-30 minutes before moving onto my next step!

Well, I was going to start a separate thread but I suppose I can ask it here as I'm also curious: has any of you tried both the Whitehead Power Liquid and Mizon's AHA Peeling Serum? How do you feel the two compare?

Anyways, if the Whitehead Power Liquid is similar to the BHA Blackhead Power Liquid, I'd definitely apply it with my hands! I tried using a cotton round with the BHA and it just soaked up all the product and felt like a waste.

I haven't tried the Mizon peeling serum! But I have looked into a lot of reviews for it. While both the Cosrx AHA product and the Mizon AHA product seem to get great reviews, I noticed I get a lot more product for my money with the Cosrx liquid. Ultimately, that's how I decided between the two.

Ooooh definitely true, I've barely made a dent in my BHA and I use it pretty much every day. I'm going to try it, I'm quite sure I'm going to run out of Mizon before they chuck it back on the market!
