many - много

a little - малко за количество
much - много

We have a little time to spend in this city and then we start our journey again.
They usually buy a few bottles of wine when they invite frineds for dinner.
She has many reasons to want to study in this university.
I like this room because there is always so much light in it.
He has very little money left in the bank.

за бройните съществителни и "How much?"

How much time do we have?
How many of your friends live here?
How many boxes of chocolate are there in the fridge?
How much work needs to be done?

CHINESE LUNAR CALENDAR

The Chinese Lunar New Year is the longest chronological record in history, dating from 2600BC, when the Emperor Huang Ti introduced the first cycle of the zodiac. Like the Western calendar, The Chinese Lunar Calendar is a yearly one, with the start of the lunar year being based on the cycles of the moon. Therefore, because of this cyclical dating, the beginning of the year can fall anywhere between late January and the middle of February. A complete cycle takes 60 years and is made up of five cycles of 12 years each.

The Chinese Lunar Calendar names each of the twelve years after an animal. Legend has it that the Lord Buddha summoned all the animals to come to him before he departed from earth. Only twelve came to bid him farewell and as a reward he named a year after each one in the order they arrived. The Chinese believe the animal ruling the year in which a person is born has a profound influence on personality, saying: "This is the animal that hides in your heart."

Each Lunar Year is depicted by a characteristic animal trait. Your birth year and hour of birth determine your dominant animal sign and characteristic natural element.

RAT
The Rat personality is tenacious, diligent and detail-oriented. Although the Rat can be easily unnerved by a compromising situation, the Rat will always maintain composure in a social setting. The Rat likes to be involved with exclusive gatherings, is extroverted and can sometimes be clannish. A devoted friend and family member, the Rat looks protectively over loved ones and is just as shrewd with money.

OX
The Ox personality is diligent, hard-working, stable and calm. Through the Ox's fortitude and respect for tradition and custom, the Ox is undeniably a symbol of logic and resolute thinking. Always an asset and good provider for the family's well-being, the Ox will not hesitate to care for his loved ones and make great sacrifices. The Ox holds equally high dignity and strong morals to match.

TIGER
The Tiger personality is robust, dynamic and stimulating. The Tiger epitomizes action for change, a zest and daring for the adventures in life. Undaunted by conflict, the Tiger embraces challenges and foes with unrelenting vim and vigor. Intense and impatient by nature, the Tiger gives any endeavor its full capability and prowess. Impetuous, charming and persuasive, the Tiger can convince even the most stubborn to consider his ways.

RABBIT
The Rabbit personality is tender, harmonious with his surroundings and believed to be the most fortunate of all the animal signs. Also referred to as the Moon Hare, the Rabbit symbolizes longevity and immortality. The Rabbit is elegant, sensitive by nature and deceivingly inscrutable when it comes down to matters of money and business negotiations. The Rabbit's distaste for conflict finds other indirect avenues for resolution.

DRAGON
The Dragon personality characterizes dynastic change as we enter the new Millennium, monetary success, and incomparable great power. Families born to Dragon members are blessed with joy and good fortune for many generations to follow. The Dragon is clear and concise in decision-making and intellect. Although aloof at times, the Dragon is direct and open and dislikes evasive tactics and may be prone to them.

SNAKE
The Snake personality is believed to hold engimatic power and influence. Appreciative of the finer aesthetics in life, the Snake possesses a keen pallor of calmness in situations of conflict. The Snake's ability to renew itself typifies the strength for rebirth and recovery. A resilent and strong willpower enables the Snake to achieve objectives never faltering away from its true focus.

HORSE
The Horse personality is spirited and independent, however may be indifferent at times. A noncomformist by nature, the Horse is self-reliant and proactive wherever the center of attention may be. A quick intellect and able to make decisions just as fast, the Horse's flexibility resides in openminded attitudes and actions. Improvisation is a key characteristic trait of the Horse.

SHEEP
The Sheep personality is kind and benevolent, creative and artistic. Purity of heart depicts the gentle nature of the Sheep, ever so soothing and compassionate. The Sheep adores attention and acceptance and acutely sensitive to the harmony of his immediate environment. Known as a good-natured soul, may be self-indulgent in personal comforts and material objects.

MONKEY
The Monkey personality is clever and ingenious. Adept at innovation and problem solving, the Monkey is ambitious in yielding money, power and success. Keenly optimistic and intelligent, but practical on the same note, the Monkey will not dote energy and resources on untimely prospects. A born strategist, the Monkey is valued by many for the competency, versatility and charisma luckily bestowed on the chosen few.

ROOSTER
The Rooster personality is characterized by precision, dignity, and organization. Endowed with great analytical abilities, the Rooster is a financial wizard. A perfectionist in whatever pursuits, the Rooster is meticulous to detail and equally possesses a sharp eye for directness. Inscrutable appearance and demeanor can only match the Rooster's unfaltering strong convictions.

DOG
The Dog personality is loyal, just and noble. Thoughtful and capable, the Dog will exhibit an amiable disposition and always hold an open ear. The Dog's extraordinary insight and cooperation can finely tune and distinguish the good from the evil. Stability earmarked with a penchant to endure suffering, the Dog's allegiance can compare to none.

BOAR
The Pig or Boar personality is down to earth, generous and brings goodwill and humanity to all. The Boar represents honesty, selflessness and is unassuming and unpretentious. REPORTED SPEECH - part 2
Questions/Imperative

When you report questions, you have to consider if they are general questions or not. Because there certainly are differences -

He asked me, "Are you American?".
He asked me if/whether I was American.

She inquired, "Did he go to the movies last night?".
She inquired if/whether he had gone to the movies the previous night.

If the questions in direct speech start with a question word, you have to keep it in the reported sentence. Make sure you get the word order correct - it is not reversed!!

He asked, "What is the score in that match?"
He asked what the score in that match was.

She asked, "How old is the girl in the red dress?"
She asked how old the girl in the red dress was.

When you report imperative sentences:

positive sentences:
"Put your jacket on!" said his mother.
His mother told him to put his jacket on.

"Clean my desk when you are done with the letters," the boss said to his secretary.
The boss told his secretary toclean his desk when she is done with the letters. "Don't drive so fast!" he shouted.
He shouted at me not to drive so fast.

"Don't play that song again," Anna asked me.
Anna asked me not to play that song again.

EXERCISE: Now try to turn these sentences into indirect speech:

1. "How long does the flight to London take," the passenger asked.
2. "Don't put any sugar in my coffee," aunt Maria said.
3. Joan asked Tom, "What did you tell your father?"
4. She ordered, "Fax me those numbers right away!"
5. "Have you read this article," the professor turned to his students.
6. "Why are you staying at home?" he asked his friend.
7. "Were you at the party last night?" Al asked his roommate.
8. "Go up this street, turn left at the first block and there you'll find the bank"he instructed them.
9. "When will your sister arrive?" Richard asked his colleague.

Иначе "All that bullshit".
